I have seen maybe the craziest automotive things. I bought a car for 600$ and quickly accepted that it was going to have some problems. Now not one of us ever expected the problem it had. It sounds normal enough, someone removed the catalytic converter and the O2 sensor. They replaced it with a straight cut pipe. All is well and good. Then, here's where it gets crazy, they decided to weld a new O2 sensor on. Like what were they thinking? Hm well this was here to start with, let me just weld it!? That makes no sense to me. Why would anyone in their right mind weld anything on their car without checking if that's even an option for it? Why would someone look at a sensor and think "eh let's just weld it back on"? I unplugged it and cut most the wiring and I'm hoping the computer in the car adjusts to just estimate what it's supposed to be doing. Instead of either reading the outside air and running rich or trying to detect the O2 sensor seeing it's plugged in then freaking out because someone with their last brain cell decided to weld it back on.
