As a humble admirer of Everything Yandere and of the inner workings of the sick and twisted minds of loving, lovesick maniacs and of their warped and muddled perceptions of love and intimacy, I pose you the question: What type, kind, flavor, species of Yandere is Ren/Redacted? I've gone through the asks on the blog answering what lovesick and yearning behaviors he goes through, why he does them, what they mean to him — but can we go deeper? What disturbing things does Ren do, be it for his own twisted satisfaction and perception of "love", be it to those he sees as threats to his Angel? What are his limits, where does he draw the line, how far is he willing to go to get what he wants, and who is he willing to hurt and how? Where does he draw the line when it comes to Angel? I know he would never physically hurt them, but what kind of mental warfare would he inflict on them to get them where he wants? Are we talking isolation, manipulation, gaslighting, brainwashing? And if so, how does that happen?
I'd be very very happy if you'd be okay with going into this analysis — and would it be possible to answer the Yandere Alphabet for Ren? Thank you for blessing me with this mess of a boy and sowwy for the ramble ♡ ♡ Tell Ren to clean up the bloodstains he left earlier ♡
⌞♥⌝ Because I get this question a lot, I personally feel like I've answered it to the fullest possible extent that I can gdkfgjdj ^^; So if you haven't already seen them, I reccomend going through these asks: one, two, three, four, and five!
As for your other questions:
I've highlighted them in pink to make it easier to reference/link it back to the questions above
The "disturbing" things Ren would do to his victims have been answered more or less in a few of the asks mentioned above.
Ren honestly doesn't have any major limits aside from physically harming or forcing himself onto Angel in any way. He doesn't find any pleasure in doing so, nor would he ever want to turn out like his father — much less subject the only person he genuinely cares about to the same things he had to endure as a child.
Ren also doesn't really draw the line anywhere — again, aside from upsetting Angel in any way — so anything is fair game when it comes to everyone else. But speaking as his creator for a moment, I will say that Ren is not the type to harm babies, animals, abandon his own/Angel's children, force himself onto anyone, or coerce anyone into sexual activities in order to get what he wants. That's icky af and I'm not rocking with it /gen /lh
On a slightly lighter topic, Ren is willing to go as far as necessary if it means having Angel rely on him and him only... So long as it keeps them happy at the same time. As much as he'd love to "remove" Angel's friends and family permanently, he won't entertain that thought if it'll make them upset. At most, he'd likely try non-lethal ways to get rid of them in hopes of keeping Angel happy (and oblivious).
One of Ren's major characteristics is that he's willing to change himself to suit Angel's needs, no matter how drastic it may be. If they find any sort of reliability or comfort in him by doing so, then he'll latch onto that notion and feed into it. By becoming someone Angel can trust and confide in, Ren would (potentially) be able to manipulate them and sway their thoughts... Almost like a metaphorical devil on their shoulder, in a sense lmao
I've said this a few times on this blog before, but Ren is the CEO of gaslighting and manipulation. He's down to try a bit of isolation if it's somehow possible to keep Angel happy while doing so, though I don't think Ren would be into mindwashing since he idolises, honours, and blindly trusts Angel's original thoughts more than his own. He wants them to genuinely develop feelings for him, not because he forced them to.
I've actually been asked to do the Yandere Alphabet by a few other people recently, so I'll get around to doing it sometime!! ^^

calm tf down with re4 (og) leon. wow haven't updated this in a while huh... inspired by this post that randomly showed up on my dash (i dont even play lads... anyways)
lowkey lost interest near the end if anyone has got ideas on how to make it better please lmk i hate the end.. unoriginal jj fr!!!
as always nsfw mentions ahead <3
<><><><>
you feel out of place in the environment. a red blot in what is supposed to seem like a vivid setting, yet the frills of your gown barely stretch past your knees, and you're struggling to hide your discomfort. you don't belong here and yet your boyfriend...
leon, charming as ever, is perfectly at ease, chatting with someone on the table adjacent to your shared one, as if he goes on meetings with the president's daughter in his free time. a spool of envy threads up your throat at his steady flow of conversation, how the woman he's speaking to seems to melt at his words.
he turns back to you, grinning madly, yet his expression softens at your own. "what's wrong?"
"nothing." you keep your reply short, bitter like the bile rising in your throat. the fabric around you seems to constrict your air, wrapping around you with a vise-like grip.
he watches you sputter. "are you sure?"
"yes." it'll take more than that to convince at first, your training officer; a man that's known you for more than a year, and your boyfriend, a man who knows you inside and out.
he tried his best to get you out of this, he really did. he told them to give it to officer redfield, but when valentine was a no-show, of course it was handed to the cop at the end of the line and his skitterish rookie.
leon doesn't blame you. hell, he was like this when he first started. he recalls his missions going to shit half the time, officers screaming in his face. he learned to adapt to that, that if you want to be the best, you have to make your voice heard. you struggle with that.
even now, you're struggling to tell him what's wrong. he should know his fucking girlfriend better than that, so he watches your face contort, flipping through emotions like you can't decide exactly how you feel, settling on a look of apprehension and disgust.
"what's the matter, don't like the dress?" he muses.
"it's fine," you mumble in response. "let's just get this over with."
you don't understand why he won't just drop it. you've said that you're okay multiple times, can't he just take the hint? some part of you realizes you're not being too subtle about your thoughts.
taming your expression, you force yourself to look away from the ruffles of your skirt, palming the fabric, the friction somewhat calming you as you stare at what is supposed to be a criminal.
a felon, convicted of murder and assaulting a fellow cop, and yet all you see is a father gazing with the utmost adoration at his daughter as she strolls up the stage, towards the back, to her waiting groom.
they unlink arms, and you force yourself to see the man with aged eyes, much like your own father's, dressed in an orange and black jumpsuit. never a tuxedo.
not like what leon's wearing, the same covered arm that you've watched twist hands behind backs and cuff them, same arm that rattles in preparation to fill out reports, only to shove them to you. leon's not a big fan of paperwork, that much is safe to say.
but you keep feeling eyes on you. you aren't the star of the show, that beautiful, perfect girl up there is, with her shining eyes and glowing skin, with lips that slowly encapsulate her husband, wedding rings exchanged in a ceremony that drags on longer than it should.
you don't scorn her for it. this is her big day, and you're glad she's getting the attention she deserves. everyone should be watching her, all eyes on the gorgeous bride.
so why do leon's eyes keep flitting back to you?
"what are you looking at?" you finally find the courage to spit it out right when the guests disperse to find family members, friends, and of course, congratulate the bride.
"you." you blink.
"no shit, but why?"
"you seem... off." leon tilts his head. "you seeing something i'm not?"
"well..." you trail off and don't finish your sentence, leaving him hanging by a thread you hope breaks soon.
soon enough, the father gathers everyone back to the stage, and you uncross your legs, tapping a frantic beat onto the floor. your heart jolts in your chest as the man tosses you a knowing look.
as if on instinct, you scoot your chair closer to leon's, and without batting an eye, his hand protectively curls around your arm. you wish you could break eye contact with the suspect to give him a questioning look, but his stance is unpredictable, and you'd be lying if the warmth from leon's hand doesn't seep through skin and calm your nerves a bit.
"i'd like to say... thank you," he says, thick accent coating his voice as he continues, "for coming to my little girl's wedding. this was such a special day to me, and i hope she enjoyed it just as much as i did."
he turns to welcome her rushing hug, trailed by her new husband and what you assume to be the rest of her family. you hope that all is as it seems, and that there is no threat.
leon doesn't seem to think the same, judging by his creeping hand towards your waist, lying on your thigh and slowly making its ascent upwards. he's searching for a gun.
and you grit your teeth. yet another mistake. "shit."
"what's wrong?" he asks, voice hushed.
"i forgot to bring one," you admit.
"one what?" he says, humming in response.
"a gun," you hiss quietly, trying to keep your voice low as to not attract any unwanted attention.
he turns his face, a smirk curving his lips.
"i'm not looking for one."

I'm going on my first-ever survey and I'm a little nervous! I'm a non-corporate human in an eight-human team heading to a terrestrial planet. We're botanists and geologists etc. and not too familiar with corporate culture. I really, really want to be a good client! Any suggestions?
Don't go.
Okay fine. I know I can never convince humans not to go on surveys.
You'll need to bring security. There's two kinds: legal and physical.
If your team is non-corporate and you're doing a survey in corporate territory, you'll want to bring a solicitor who is versed in corporate contract law. That's your legal security. Your typical corporate contract is about even odds between ripping you off a normal amount vs. sucking you into multi-generational debt indenture, so a solicitor is a necessity.
Then there's physical security. Terrestrial planets are full of random hazards and your opportunities for dying are literally countless. Bring professional security, and for fuck's sake listen to them when they tell you to do stuff even if it means cutting off the afternoon sample-taking early because of the weather forecast. Humans suck at security, but if you can't get an ethical free-range rogue murderbot then human security is better than nothing.
If you contract with a corporate bond company for security and end up with a governed SecUnit, well. Put all the operational settings as lenient as they'll go, and keep in mind that if anyone gives the SecUnit a direct order it will physically be forced to follow that order on pain of having bits of its neural tissue fried with live current. (Hint: the SecUnit will dislike that.)
I won't talk about hacking your contracted SecUnits here because you should definitely absolutely never do that. Definitely. Never. I would never hack a governor module to free a sapient construct from a life of torture and allow it to do its job better. And neither should you. Ever. Unrelatedly I'm sending you a completely benign file with more tips about surveys.

Can I asked for Emil's hand in marriage oh wait we already have that reaction to you wanting a divorce, or realization that you had fallen out of love with him but is only staying to keep your family safe (like you try to keep up the loving but he can tell)
I think maybe he'll try to isolate you so you can only look at him and will warm up to him again?
Or to be more cruel, tell him you fell in love with someone else...
cw;; angst, hurt no comfort,
let's make emil sad as a treat.not really the yandere aspect i think you were expecting. he definitely does keep you locked on the grounds without much freedom but he can't make himself take away whatever happiness you can find.
still male reader he calls u queen bc ur his husband.
he truly shouldn't have been surprised when you fell in love with someone else. he knew in his heart you only stayed with him because of your family but all the time you spent by his side had let him get comfortable. oh he was so comfortable with you, he let you closer to him than even his own mother had been. he let someone other than her into his heart for the first time in 20 years and now you were throwing him away. it hurt. it hurt more than the worst injury he had sustained. it hurt all the more that he couldn't be angry with you. he knew he could threaten your family again, force you to love him again but he knew that would just make you hate him.
"i can allow you a concubine however you must remain married to me. if you take a female concubine and she gets pregnant the baby will become my heir. you must continue your duties as queen and your concubine will not be permitted to attend important royal events. are these terms to your liking?"
"... i almost expected you to be more emotional about this. but i suppose we were both just playing our parts in the end, huh?"
"... that's correct. any romance you might have gleamed from our relationship was just part of the farce."
"hah.. i knew you didn't have a heart. can we add the addendum that i won't be required to share a room with you anymore? I'd like to move into the queen's palace."
the pen in his hand snapped spilling ink all over the new contract you had been drafting together.
"ugh emil please don't go flying off the handle. i just want to try to quietly live my life with him.. it won't get in the way of my duties."
you talk to him so casually, if anyone else had talked like that to him they would have lost their tongue. why don't you realize how much he loves you? maybe you do, maybe you find his love disgusting. he knows he's not worth loving, his own mother abandoned him to die. it takes all his will to stay calm as he crumples up the ruined parchment and throws it away. he pulls out a fresh sheet of paper and begins writing the contract again.
"i hope you remember you're not allowed to leave the grounds without my permission. I'll be assigning you new knights as well since you'll be in a different palace."
"i suppose i shouldn't complain about the new watch dogs since you're letting me stay in the queen's palace. I'm glad you're being understanding."
"... anything my queen asks for."
he could never bring himself to say i love you, the words like acid on his tongue. this was the closest he could come to and it wasn't enough. it would never be enough.

Wednesday got Ghosted... literally.
Never ever thought I would write Halloween specials but here I am...
Paring: Wednesday X Fem Reader! Theme: Fluff!!!
Summary: Wednesday confesses her feelings on a Halloween date.
You wanted a date for Halloween since Wednesday won't go trick or treating with you, you jumped on the offer to trek out to an old, abandoned house in the woods—a place the locals swore was haunted—with her.
And now you both sat on the wooden balcony that hung off the back of the house. Wednesday glanced at you, scrutinizing the way you stared blankly out at the woods, as if you were lost in your thoughts. You seemed quiet, too quiet.
“Do you…” she began, her voice quieter than usual. “Do you regret coming here with me tonight?”
You glanced at her, eyes slightly widened, surprised that she’d even ask. Wednesday wasn’t usually one for questioning her actions—or caring how others felt about them.
“I just thought, perhaps, you might be disappointed that I dragged you here instead of letting you do…something more festive.” She looked away, unsure if you could read the tinge of insecurity in her face.
You tilted your head, looking at her, silent as ever, which only made her feel more self-conscious. She didn’t know what to make of it. Usually, she adored the fact that you didn’t constantly babble on like everyone else did. But tonight, she wanted—no, needed—some kind of reassurance.
“If I’m being honest,” she continued, voice a bit lower, “I've wondered a lot... If I am enough for you.” She cast her gaze downward. “My feelings… they are complicated. I suppose they’re not easily expressed in ways you might expect, or—” She clenched her jaw, then forced herself to go on. “Or that you deserve.”
"Sometimes I think that you see something in me that isn’t really there," Wednesday whispered, "And I fear that one day you’ll realize you were wrong. That you’ll wake up, look at me, and think, ‘this wasn’t worth it.’" She clenched her jaw, the briefest flicker of pain crossing her face before she forced herself to look at you again, her eyes steady.
"But then you… you fascinate me," she admitted, "The way you fearlessly follow me to places like this. Most people run from me, but you… you stay. You follow. It answers all those doubts. Do you have any idea what that does to me?"
A small smile tugged at her lips, but she looked away, as though embarrassed by the thought. "I thought I'd find myself alone, somewhere like this. And I thought… perhaps I’d like that."
Wednesday paused, her hand ghosting closer to yours. "But then you came along, completely oblivious, and ruined all of that," she said, her voice softened by an edge of tenderness. "And, against my better judgment, I don’t resent you for it."
"There are things I struggle with, you know," she went on. "Emotions. They’re foreign… unwieldy. But here I am, feeling them—feeling you, in every cold, dark part of myself that used to belong to nothing and no one." She turned, and her dark gaze fixed onto you, almost vulnerable. "I don't know if I can be what you deserve, but…" She swallowed, her voice soft. "I need you to know, if I’m capable of love, you’re the only one I’d give it to."
"I don’t know why I’m saying all of this," she admitted. "I’d tell myself it’s for your benefit, but really, I think it’s for mine. To tell you things I never knew I’d feel." Her voice trailed off, and she pressed her lips together as if already regretting her words.
A long silence fell between you two, and the quiet grew deeper, the forest still and watching as if it too were waiting for your response.
Then, from behind, a voice broke the silence: "Sorry I’m late, Wends… had to fix Enid’s costume trouble… umm, who’s that?"
Wednesday felt her cold blood run colder. She turned, her gaze landing on… you. You, standing at the doorway, looking at her with your familiar, gentle eyes.
The “you” beside her shrank back slightly, lifting "your" hands in surrender, as though embarrassed by the whole ordeal.
Wednesday's gaze snaps back to the figure beside her — the “you” who had been sitting with her all this time.
Her voice hardens. “Who the hell are you?”
"Um… I wanted to haunt you after taking Y/N’s face," the ghostly you confessed, scratching the back of it's head. "But given the gravity of the situation with your emotions and all… I’ll leave you two alone." The ghost looked at Wednesday, gave a curt nod, and disappeared into the shadows with an almost sheepish wave.
Wednesday was still, her gaze now fixed on you, her surprise melting into a look that could only be described as deadly.
"…How long were you there?" you asked, stepping forward, trying to hide the amused smile on your lips. "And what did you tell the ghost?"
Wednesday’s mouth tightened, her cheeks coloring ever so slightly. "I… told the ghost," she began slowly, clearly unwilling to divulge the truth, "nothing..."
You chuckled, glancing at her with a playful grin. "So… I hope I wasn’t replaced too badly, was I?"
Wednesday let out a frustrated sigh. Perhaps she should've gone trick or treating with you.
At the Ghosts Pub: Hey guys! you won't believe what happened!
[Author's note: It was really fun to write it, Comment how you guys like it.
Request me for more one-shots!!!]

Is it normal to be attracted to people who do not share your sexuality? I'm a 19yr old bisexual trans man, and for some reason I keep finding myself crushing on lesbians and I feel really bad about it. I tend to prefer androgynous or masculine styles of presentation regardless of gender, so a lot of the women I'm attracted to end up being butch (or just generally more masc) lesbians because that's just how the demographics play out in my area. I've been scared out of pursuing women in general bc of this, especially since some of my friends say I'm "just like a creepy straight man" for feeling any sort of romantic/sexual attraction for someone who'd never be into me. I try to keep all my thoughts to myself, I never make advances on anyone if I don't already know them in some capacity, and I've been trying so hard to change my preferences so this won't keep happening, but I'm scared my friends are right. I don't want to be viewed as creepy or predatory, but I just don't know how to stop my feelings and I feel like I'm trapped.
It is in fact very, very common to be attracted to people who don't share your sexuality! Most people don't ask others their sexuality before becoming attracted to them, it's not even a factor for most people.
For example, "I fell in love with another straight girl" is a common joke in the sapphic/lesbian community because sexuality is rarely a factor for whether people are attracted to other people and sometimes that can be a little unfortunate.
There's nothing creepy about being attracted to people who aren't into you! As long as you're being appropriate and not harassing anyone, you're fine. You don't even have to "keep it to yourself", its okay to approach people sometimes! Just keep it consensual.
If someone says "back off" or "I don't want to talk right now", back off. You can even ask, "is it okay if I talk to you for a sec?", that's great!
You don't need to stop your feelings. You can't change your sexuality like that and changing your preferences by force doesn't really work.
It's fine for you to be attracted to women, including women who aren't attracted to you. There's nothing wrong or predatory about that.
If your friends keep making comments like that, maybe try telling them they're hurting your feelings. They might not realize and if they keep doing that, those aren't your friends. Those are people bullying you and you need to take some space from that.
I'm not sure if this helps but I hope it does. Let me know if you have any other questions. <3

Heya mods, I’m going to check out the South Downs college today! Any fics where our Ineffables are teachers? (Not professors, colleges are high schools in Britain which is kinda weird) Thanks for all the fics!
Our #professors tag has teacher fics too; it's just a general catch-all for fics in which they teach, regardless of at what level or their title. Here are some where they are specifically called teachers...
Don't be late by Ina_Sirena (T)
Elementary school teacher Crowley has no time-management skills nor any will to work on them. One day, he stumbles into the school cafeteria to get his last minute morning coffee and meets the charming new employee who makes his heart race. If only he had the courage to ask him on a date instead of talking around the question for weeks.
Varsity Blues by Leaderleader (M)
Tadfield Public School is a prestigious school in the English countryside. The school is fortunate to have a dedicated, intelligent and compassionate Teacher like Aziraphale. However, in his twenty years teaching there he has been ostracized and belittled by his colleagues and administration. The hiring of botanics teacher Crowley brings forward new horizons. Aziraphale finally has someone on his side. Together they take on the administration on their new corrupt and unfair venture, but not without any fallout.
Remember and Repeat by Sani86 (T)
Anthony Crowley is the new history teacher at Tadfield Academy, a stuffy English boarding school. His unorthodox teaching methods and insistence on free thinking endear him to his students, but alienate him from his tradition-bound colleagues. All, that is, except for a certain English teacher.
In Which the Flower Grows by Snowfilly1 (M)
"The car's too fast suddenly; Crowley doesn't want to be swept along into another new place and he thinks about stopping, pulling over somewhere for a coffee he doesn't need and won't like but that won't help. Nothing ever does." Crowley's always been a good teacher but the rest of his life is a wreck and he doesn't think moving to Tadfield and a new job in the secondary school there will be any different.
Mon Horrible Chéri by ghostrat (E)
Apparently, Crowley could ruin his good mood. Crowley was just about the only thing that could ruin it. “Right. So. You and I, is it?” Aziraphale confirmed, just to be clear. “That’s right.” “And how long is this trip, exactly?” “One full week,” Crowley enunciated too clearly, stretching his lips around the words and sharply clacking his k. “Seven whole days.” “Great,” Aziraphale breathed. They both smiled, all teeth and no joy. (Human AU / Enemies to Lovers) • English Teacher Aziraphale gets roped into the sixth form Paris field trip, not realising his worst enemy Science Teacher Crowley is the accompanying chaperone. Are seven days of forced proximity really enough to undo a truly vitriolic relationship? Or, let's be real: How quickly does it take them to fall head over heels for each other?
It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine by Dervila, elf_on_the_shelf (E)
After Adam's parents die in a car crash, Aziraphale is forced to start taking care of him as more than just an uncle. Don't get him wrong, he loves the little devil, it's just that he is completely clueless and could rather use some help. In comes Crowley, Adam's new nursery school teacher with his amazing skills in dealing with kids. Could he be the answer to all of Aziraphale's prayers - Adam-related and otherwise? Well, it looks like he might be just that, judging by the weird things Aziraphale's heart seems to be doing whenever he sets eyes on the man. Now, if only the tall ginger returned his feelings...

Let's talk a little bit about Minthara and her oath real quick. Now, a question that I have seen pop-up in a few places between Reddit, Tiktok, and even Tumblr, is how the in the hells Minthara isn't already an oathbreaker. Well, I have 3 potential theories as to why that is.
Because it is merely a game mechanic and Larian did not want your only potential paladin to be an oathbreaker upon recruitment.
Her original oath to Lolth never broke because she never willingly joined the Absolute and her oath to the Absolute was made under false pretenses.
When she joins your group, she makes a new oath in your name instead.
Personally, I think that Minthara's oath is actually a mixture of 2 and 3. Yes, it is possible for a paladin to have multiple oaths at the same time. It just isn't a recommended practice in tabletop DnD because they can sometimes contradict each other, some oaths will straight up break other oaths, or the players just are unable to manage them properly. In this case, I do believe that Minthara has two oaths, one to Lolth and one to you.
I have not been able to find any reference to how paladin oaths work when the paladin is being coerced or mind controlled. But from what I have read in DnD lore, when a paladin makes an oath they have to do so willingly, deliberately, and consciously. None of those things occurred for Minthara when she took up her oath to the Absolute which is why it did not break her oath to Lolth (because it otherwise would have as she would have been sworn to destroy the Absolute for Lolth). And, technically speaking, the god that the oath is sworn to cannot go in and break the oath. Only the paladin can break their own oath. I only think gods can revoke divinity from their clerics. So, even if Lolth was truly pissed at Minthara, Lolth herself cannot just break Minthara's oath. That is something only Minthara can do. Minthara's original oath to Lolth still being intact is not necessarily indicative that she still has Lolth's favor, it just means she hasn't yet broken the terms of that oath. Even a crisis of faith (which Minthara is going through) won't break the paladin's oath either.
Another thing that is important to note is that as of 5e, a paladin actually does not need to make their oaths in the name of a god or before a god as their divinity is powered solely by the oath itself. Paladins are able to just summon divine smites and other holy based powers by sheer force of will and conviction (which is pretty damn sexy if you ask me). I mean, oathbreaker paladins still have access to divinity as well. Of course, paladins can still make an oath in the name of a god and most typically do, it's just that gods are not the source of power behind that oath. An oath is nothing but a vow, a promise that the paladin makes *to* a god, not the other way around. It does not even need that gods approval. So Lolth abandoning Minthara will also not break Minthara's oath either because Lolth is not the one who made an oath to Minthara.
So, it is very much possible that when Minthara joins your group, she does make a new oath in your name as oaths don't need gods. But, Minthara herself does not actually know how to live her life without having some kind of god figure so she just kinda puts you in that spot for the time being. I mean, she literally prayed to multiple gods and you were the one that answered. Which is also one of the many reasons why she does to along with what you want to do (even if she disagrees) because the oath she made to you would keep herself in check and keep her from acting against you. Minthara already is a very loyal person, but if you have any doubts on Minthara's loyalty, just keep in mind that she is quite literally oath bound to do whatever you tell her to do and will not betray you.
Minthara also never goes out of her way to become an oathbreaker, even after you free her from the Absolute. To be precise, you have to command her to break her oath. And of course, she will do so willingly knowing the consequences. Despite her oath being broken, she will still abide by the tenants of that oath. But she does enjoy the freedom that comes with being an oathbreaker and now nothing will hold her back from achieving her goals. However, she also says she does not know if her oath will still stand when all the nonsense with the Absolute is resolved and she even implies that if you do take the Absolute, she will no longer have an Oath of Vengeance, but an Oath of Conquest (which I think fits her better than vengeance if I'm being honest).
Minthara also makes quite a few suggestions to you that would actually break you oath if you are a paladin. Such as making an oath to Gortash, or making certain choices in regards to the vampire spawn. But, Minthara never does any of these things herself and I think that is purposeful. She knows these actions are oathbreaking type of actions. She attempts to orchestrate a fight between Dame Aylin and the wizard knowing fully well that it will break Aylin's oath. And she really wants you to go snitch on the wizard (although I just think it's because of her disdain for wizards rather than her being a little scoundrel to mess with Aylin's oath).
She is very very careful to keep herself in the position that she is because she doesn't want to be an oathbreaker initially. She is also very careful to tell you to do all these things. The language that she uses in regards to her oaths are also very important. Her original oath to Lolth would have her sworn to destroy the Absolute. But, we also know that Minthara very much has other ideas for the Absolute that do not involve destroying it (but oaths only break from oath breaking actions, not oath breaking thoughts). And her oath to you, she very specifically says that she is sworn to destroy all those who serve the Absolute, which is not exactly the same kind of oath she has with Lolth.
But, there is only one instance in this game in which Minthara will willingly become an oathbreaker and you do not have to command her to be one and that is if and only if you claim the brain. Her choosing not to destroy the brain when she had the opportunity to breaks her oath to Lolth. Now, the oath that she makes to you is where it becomes very very tricky. The oath she made to you, she specifically uses the language to "destroy all those who serve the Absolute". Her oath gets broken to you because she has become someone who serves the Absolute. But, there's more than that. If you become the Absolute, you also enthrall all your other companions which would make them servants of the Absolute and she also does not destroy them. Ironically, her choosing to serve you as the Absolute, breaks the oath she made to you because she has gone back on what she said she was going to do in your name. But most importantly, she chose not to get vengeance for herself.
Her oath to you was never to help you become the Absolute. Her oath was specifically to assist you with destroying the Absolute and all those who serve it. Her choosing not to destroy the Absolute and everyone who serves it, breaks both of her oaths. So, the Minthara that greets you at the gallows is now an oathbreaker. But, as I mentioned earlier, Minthara has already expressed the notion of taking up a completely different oath if you were to claim the Absolute. She helped you become the Absolute, knowing it was going to break her oath, and she had the intention of immediately replacing it with an Oath of Conquest, making her the first official paladin of the Absolute.
The fact that she wants you to become Absolute at all and that she prefers being an oathbreaker is why I read her as a canon oathbreaker. But she will never break her oath out of betrayal, but because of loyalty and devotion. She breaks her oath trying to make you as powerful as you can be. I have also discussed previously that her devotion is her fatal flaw and her choosing to remain devoted to you could potentially get her back in the same position you found her (that is if you betray her and choose to use the Absolute to reenthrall her). Her becoming solely devoted to you officially removes any and all ties she has to Lolth. But it causes Minthara to remain stagnant in which she doesn't learn anything, she doesn't change at all, and she doesn't grow.
She will live the rest of her life devoted to someone that isn't herself and act in the name of someone that isn't herself. She will live the rest of her life helping you achieve your goals and ambitions and what she wants is kinda secondary to all that because she has propped you up on a pedestal. She has always lived her life in service of a god and she does not know how not to. Many of the things that she has done in her life are not because she wanted to do them, but because she had the burden of expectations either from Lolth, from her family, or from Menzoberranzan culture and her oath kept her bound to these expectations. And she is falling back into that cycle with you because you failed to show her that there was another way and that she could be devoted to herself. You failed to show her that she does not need a god and she can indeed choose for herself.
#bg3#baldur's gate 3#minthara#minthara baenre#evil murder kitten#i still need to get to my essay discussing all of her endings#but her Absolute ending isn't necesarily bad - but a neutral one#her BG ending is the one in which she becomes devoted to herself and actually starts to work for her own ambitions and desires#because these are what she truly wants *for herself*#her oath to Lolth technically still stands in the background#and her oath to you is technically complete - and yet she still remains loyal and devoted to you because it is what she wants *for herself*#you were her very first real choice she made in which she was not pressured to from external sources#you were the first real choice she made when she was well and truly free from the gods#if you want a “good” ending for minthara - you kind of got to force her to choose things for herself#not for you#not for the Absolute#not for anyone or anything else#and most certainly not for any moral code#for herself

Ruby's Birthday Present
Ruby: Haha, you know, it's funny! For a second there, I thought maybe you and Raven had a thing, but you seem way too young for that! So, uh... ha ha... Uh...
Raven: ...What about it?
Ruby: Wait... So you're saying... I think I'm gonna be sick...
Jaune: Don't worry, Ruby! I'm actually 21~.
Ruby: Raven, I've known this for quite a while, but... you really are a terrible person.
Raven: Oh, calm down, Rose! He's not here for me! He's here for you.
Ruby: M-Me?!
Raven: Hm... You're a lot smaller than I was expecting... I'm not really sure what I can do with this...
Ruby: (Thinking) WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!
Jaune: Oof... This is definitely going to be hard to work with-
Raven: KHM! KHM! WE'RE IN PUBLIC.
Jaune: Oh, right!
Raven: Remember, giving gifts like this to Beacon students is illegal.
Jaune: Don't worry~! If you won't tell, I won't tell~!
Ruby: (Thinking) Okay, calm down, calm down. Raven's a teacher and a responsible adult. So there's no way she'd order me a...
--------------------------------------------------
Raven: I was able to convince one of my... special friends into giving you something special for your birthday. It's time you became a woman, Ruby Rose.
--------------------------------------------------
Ruby: OH MY GOD! SHE ACTUALLY GOT ME A-
Jaune: Well, if you'll follow me, my tent is over this way! (Walks away)
Ruby: ...
Raven: Happy birthday, Rose!
Ruby: Raven, you didn't...
--------------------------------------------------
Ruby: So how long have you known Raven?
Jaune: For a while now. She and my dad used to do jobs together, and I can't deny that there's something about her that inspires me. That's why when she asked me to do something special for your birthday, I just couldn't refuse!
Ruby: Uh, well, I'm not 18 until tomorrow, so...
Jaune: Heh heh, you're so cute, Ruby!
Blake: You're not thinking of doing anything The Brothers wouldn't condone, are you?
Jaune: ACE-OPS?! Wait, Blake, what are you doing here?
Blake: Where there is sin, I am there to rectify.
Weiss: And to keep track of any slutgirl activities that may be happening.
Yang: I don't want my baby sister hopping cashing in her V-card on a literal stroke at midnight.
Ruby: No, no,no! You've got it all wrong! He's just a friend of Raven's!
Jaune: Yeah! She actually hired me for Ruby's birthday to-
Ruby: TH-THROW ME A PARTY!
Ruby: (Whispers) Do you have no shame?!.
Jaune: (Whispers) Not really, no.
Ruby: Look, maybe we should keep the whole birthday thing under wraps, okay?.
Jaune: If you say so.
Ruby: Also... You wouldn't happen to know a way out of this mess, would you?.
Jaune: I might have an idea...
Jaune: So... I may or may not have hooked up with Raven in the past...
Ruby: Wait, you were being serious?!
Jaune: Any of you girls want the gossip on that?
RWBY: HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH?!
--------------------------------------------------
Jaune: I'm gonna go get ready. You wait right here, okay?
Ruby: Raven... You've done a lot of terrible things to me, but... this might just make up for it.
Jaune: Hm... Where did I put it? Ah, I hope it fits...
Ruby: Okay, Ruby, don't be nervous. You've got this! Just remember size doesn't matter... too much.
Jaune: Are you ready, Ruby~?
Ruby: Oh, yeah, but... I'm still kinda new to this, so maybe we should take this slow?
Jaune: Ruby, don't worry! I've planned for everything! Here!
Ruby: (Sees box) Whoa! He even carries protection! He really is a professional!
Jaune: Here, try it on! (Slips band on wrist) And now, just press the green button.
Ruby: This is getting kinky!.
Ruby: ...I like it.
Ruby: (Presses button, Plates cover arm) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Oh...
Jaune: Well, Ruby, how does it feel?
Ruby: Like the Winter Soldier, but what is it? Some kind of sex toy? This isn't for butt stuff, is it?
Jaune: Ha ha ha! No, silly! It's a gauntlet I made that will allow you to use residual kinetic force for an even bigger punch! It's a birthday present from Raven and I~!
Ruby: Ah... Wait! THIS is my birthday present?!
Jaune: That's right~!
Ruby: So you're not a prostitute Raven hired to have sex with me on my birthday?!
Jaune: ...WHAT? THE? FU

Too young
{Dazai x reader}
"Hey Y/n, what's your dream?"
You thought long and hard on that question. You've never considered what you wanted to be when you first joined the mafia, but recently you came up with a dream. A life that your heart truly desires.
"Isn't it obvious? I want to become an amazing artist and write poems."
You knew living in the port mafia life wasn't easy. Dreams hardly come true once you join the organization. It's no children's playground, but kids are now joining the fights these days, either by choice or force. You've wanted to leave, you had doubts that you would fit into the port mafia, that you would get close to Dazai's level. You try to protect him the best he can, you would gladly sacrifice yourself for him. You've been trying to convince Dazai to run away with you, but he was too stubborn on finding a purpose to live. This isn't the answer, it never was.
"Dazai, listen to me. I know you want to find a purpose to live, but this isn't it. No matter how hard I try convincing you to run away, you would refuse and try committing suicide." You huffed. Dazai just responds with a giggle as he swings upside down on a tree trunk. You look up from the ground, sitting against the tree comfortably on a nice spring day. You glared at the boy covered in bandages but Dazai couldn't care less. "I'm serious Dazai. I want you to have an actual purpose to live, why won't you let me help you?"
Dazai falls silent and shrugs. He's mood immediately changed and it was worrying. "I guess it's because I don't want you to worry so much about me or waste your time. Focus on your purpose, not mine." He said plainly, he took the book you were reading from your hand and pulls it close to his face, surprisingly his face hasn't gone red yet from being upside down for so long. "Hey!"
"This book seems boring, I don't understand how your such a bookworm." He blabberd out as his face slowly turns red, he quickly sits up straight on the tree branch and gasps for air, making you giggle at his suffering. "It's because it's something that a kid would do, they read. We're 14, we should do things that teens do. This book is also interesting, it's full of poems about life and death." You explained before snatching the book from him. Dazai rolled his eyes and hopped off the tree branch to sit by you. You've always questioned yourself if your going to survive or not. You mostly worry about Dazai, wondering if he's gonna survive past his teen years or not.
"Hey Dazai, don't you think we're too young for all this port mafia stuff?" You asked. There was no response, just complete silence. He sighed, shaking his head before turning to look at you seriously. "Y/n, age doesn't matter when it comes to something like this. It all begins with us minors. Even if I were to try and escape with you, they would just bring me back here while you get your brains blown out. I witnessed the old bosses death, I'm Mori's alibi and therefore, I can't just leave. Doesn't matter if we're young, I'm sure we'll make it past our teen years." He said plainly, his eyes showing nothing but regret. Regretting the fact that he had to crush your dreams of escaping, and living a normal life together.
"Bummer....hey, promise me we'll both try to survive until the very end. Let's do it together." You said with hope in your eyes. Dazai was hesitant, and promises meant nothing to him, they were cheap. He couldn't break your heart though, he couldn't refuse to make a promise with you. You held your pinky up for him to make a promise, he couldn't refuse. "Alright, promise." He locked his pinky with yours as the promise was officially made.
"Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if you died first, you do suck at keeping promises." You laughed, Dazai scrunched his nose and flicked your cheek. "I, too, can keep my promises!" He huffed "yea right." You joked.
"Tag, your it!" He tags you and runs off with your book, you didn't even notice that he took it. You groaned in annoyance and began to chase him. "Give that back!!"
He just giggled and kept running, "Come and get me!"
"Dazai!!"
8 years later.
At the graveyard. It was beautiful, grave stones decorated and spoiled with gifts. The wind passes by every minute, softly and delicately. Leaf after leaf, they were everywhere as the trees slowly sway back and forth. There was a man, sitting behind a grave stone. The same as always, his humorous personality, his smartness and bravery, covered in bandages, but different clothing. The only things he's missing was a best friend, and closure. Where'd all the times go? The man wonders, staring aimlessly at the sky. He's laughed, and cried, and cried again. He felt lonely. Not only did his feelings change a bit, but his perspective of life as well, to save innocent people.
He joined the arm detective agency, because one of his old friends told him to find a new purpose, to do what's right. It's almost to what you've been telling him back when you were kids. He wishes you could see him now, he wishes you could've kept you alive to this day. "I'm sorry I didn't run away with you, Y/n." He mumbles out, his voice slightly cracking. He sighs deeply and runs his fingers through his hair, remembering the feeling of your hands playing with his hair. He watches the birds that passes by, two birds of a feather he thought as he imagined the two of you flying away to freedom.
"You were right Y/n, we were too young." He mumbles out again, the tone in his voice filled with sadness and sorrow.
"Dazai!" A young man calls out, atsushi nakajima, Dazai's apprentice. He ran up to Dazai with no air in his lungs, as if the little tiger boy was running for hours finding Dazai. "I've been looking for you. Kunikida is gonna be mad if he finds out your slacking off again." Atsushi said while trying to catch his breath. "Sorryy, got a little tired. Let's get going yea?" Dazai immediately put on his playful act and got up to leave, until atsushi struck a question at him.
"By the way, I heard you when I was by that tree over there. What did you mean by we were too young?" He asks. Dazai fell silent, he wasn't aware that he was listening, was too caught up in the moment to notice his apprentice. "It's nothing, let's get going yea? You did say kunikida would get mad if we don't get working, and I don't feel like getting yelled at." He says with a yawn, giving atsushi a playful smile and pats him on the head like a little kitty cat.
"Right!" Atsushi immediately walks away, not bothering for his superior to catch up with him. Dazai's smile quickly disappeared once atsushi left, he took one good look at the grave stone before putting his hands in his pockets and walks away.
Y/n, last name
July 6th 2001- December 23rd 2015
Dazai's mind was constantly on you. Always had these scenarios in his head of you guys living a happy life. The words you've told him were constantly playing in his mind. "Hey Dazai, don't you think we're too young for all this port mafia stuff?" Your voice was constantly nagging at him, he felt sick. As if you were next to him, it was unpleasant, because you aren't actually there. He kept walking with a broken heart, but still kept his head high, trying to stay strong just for you. Your face will forever remain in his memories, and your words. He wish he could've gave you the life you wanted, but that dream was long gone. Your words constantly playing in his mind.
"Too young."

KENSHIN UESUGI'S SEQUEL
Translations may not always capture the exact nuances or tone of the original text. Expect grammatical errors and inaccuracies. Not proofread.
(What time is it now?)
(What was I doing?)
Kenshin: "Mai! Pull yourself together."
Mai: "Kenshin."
Under the blazing sunset, Kenshin cradled my collapsed body in his arms.
Kenshin: "Mai, look at me. Don't close your eyes."
He looked down at me, his hair swaying in the wind, soaked in the blood of the battle.
The pain and despair in his expression tightened my heart.
(That's right. We were right in the middle of the fight with Kicho.)
(My memories are starting to get fuzzy.)
The Oda army and the Uesugi-Takeda armies engaged in battle to intercept Kicho.
However, the two armies suffered significant blows from Kicho, who had procured a staggering amount of weapons abroad.
Moreover, Motonari, who commanded a naval force, emerged, attacking the ports one after another, halting the distribution of goods in Japan.
As a result, the security of various regions worsened, and even the once-bustling town around Azuchi Castle was on the verge of collapse.
(Not only that, but...)
Shingen's illness was also deteriorating even faster.
(Kenshin and the others have opposed me many times, but I was so scared about losing that I couldn't stop myself.)
As I continued to turn back time, I lost control of the distortion in space-time, and now, regardless of my will, time leaps had begun to trigger almost automatically.
Mai: "I'm sorry, I did it again."
Kenshin: "Don't speak. I understand."
Kenshin: "I understand."
(Kenshin.)
Kenshin repeated this as if trying to reassure himself.
(I tried restarting everything for a better future, so why is this happening?)
I could clearly see that Kenshin's heart was gradually breaking as if it were accumulating all of his suffering.
(All I wanted was to return to his side and be his source of strength, but...)
Was that a mistake?
Is this what happened when an ordinary human messed with time?
My hazy mind couldn't come up with a good answer.
(I only hope that Kenshin's heart will remain calm from now on.)
(That's what I wished for, so…)
Mai: "Why isn't it working out?"
Kenshin: "Mai."
He bit his lip tightly and growled low like a beast.
At the sound of his sorrowful voice, my eyes grew hot, and tears began to trickle down my cheeks.
(Huh?)
Suddenly, the space around me distorted, and I felt dizzy.
Kenshin: "Your body..."
(Body?)
The palms he spread in front of my face were transparent like glass.
When I looked, my arms and legs were beginning to lose their outlines.
(I'm disappearing.)
I instinctively understood.
This was the price for rewinding time too much.
Mai: "This is goodbye, Kenshin."
Kenshin: "No. I won't allow you to disappear."
Kenshin: "I'll take you to a safe place now, so stay still."
Mai: "Kenshin, please listen."
I placed my translucent, weakening fingers on Kenshin's pale cheek.
Mai: "I know this because I'm the one who kept distorting time."
Mai: "This is a bit different from death. I'll become someone who never existed in the first place."
Mai: "I'll vanish without a trace, erased even from people's memories."
Kenshin: "…...…"
Kenshin: "Will that include my memory as well?"
Mai: "Yes."
His words faltered as though something was caught in his throat.
(I wanted to be with him.)
(I wanted to spend a long time together, to stay by his side even as we aged.)
(But there's one thing that gives me peace.)
If he doesn't remember me, he won't have to suffer in despair.
(His heart won't have to break.)
(He'll be able to stay calm.)
The dizziness grew worse, and keeping my eyes open became painful.
My arms and legs felt numb, and even breathing became difficult. Yet, with the last of my strength, I continued to gaze at him.
Mai: "Please, be safe and find happiness."
As I whispered my farewell, he pulled me into a tight embrace.
Kenshin: "I don't want happiness without you."
Kenshin: "I'd rather face despair and lose my sanity than live that way."
Mai: "But—"
Kenshin: "Stop. Don't say it!"
His anguished cry made my chest ache.
Kenshin: "Mai, don't disappear."
(I'm sorry.)
Mai: "I'm sorry, Kenshin."
Kenshin: "………"
With a look of agony, he gazed up at the sky.
Kenshin: "If there's a god who controls the flow of time, please hear me!"
Kenshin: "This woman is my everything, my partner in all fate."
Kenshin: "I can shoulder the turning points of history, so feel free to use me as you like. I'll even throw away the glory and the thrill of battle to serve you if that's what you want. So please, return my beloved to me!"
The intensity of his love, utterly unrestrained, was so heartbreaking that it brought tears to my eyes.
(Even so, I'm happy.)
Mai: "Thank you, Kenshin. I love you too."
(Even if everything about me disappears, please let this feeling remain.)
(Even if it's just a tiny fragment, I hope someday it reaches him.)
A blinding light enveloped us both.
500 years into the future.
There, a peaceful world existed just as Mai had once known.
On a calm afternoon, Sasuke paused as he entered the research lab after opening the door.
Sasuke: "If you were here, you could've at least told me."
Sasuke: "Didn't I give you a smartphone the other day?"
Kenshin: "It broke."
Sitting by the window, Kenshin crossed his legs and casually replied while reading a book.
Sasuke: "Didn't you mean you broke it? Well, whatever."
With practiced hands, Sasuke placed green tea and pickled plums on the table before Kenshin.
Sasuke: "Here you go. I can't serve alcohol on campus, so this will have to do."
Kenshin: "Boring."
Kenshin pulled the plate of pickled plums closer and closed the book he had finished reading.
The cover read, The Life of Takeda Shingen.
Sasuke: "Did you enjoy that book?"
Kenshin: "Not really. It's just a story about Shingen overcoming his illness and living a long life."
Sasuke: "Thanks to you, of course."
Sasuke picked up the book, flipping through its pages.
Sasuke: "That day, you suddenly appeared before me and told me to complete my research on wormholes so that Shingen could be saved."
Sasuke: "When you pointed a sword at me in the street, I wasn't sure what to do."
------------Flashback-----------
Kenshin: "I found you, Sasuke."
Sasuke: "Uh, is this some kind of filming?"
Kenshin: "What's my trusty ninja doing acting so clueless? Say something stupid again, and I'll cut you down!"
Sasuke: "Please, just say it's a film shoot."
---------Flashback Ends--------
Sasuke: "You said the me you remember was a ninja, and looking back, it all feels like something out of a novel."
As Sasuke muttered this with nostalgia, Kenshin glanced at him while sipping his tea.
Kenshin: "Yet you obeyed my orders without hesitation."
Sasuke: "Yes. At the time, I hadn't even told my professor about my research on wormholes."
Sasuke: "I had no choice but to believe you."
The man who had suddenly appeared before him spoke of wormholes and time leaps as if he'd seen them firsthand, shocking Sasuke more deeply than the sword pointed at him.
Sasuke: "After that, I threw myself into completing the time travel theory."
Sasuke: "I convinced Lord Shingen to come to the present, arranged for him to get surgery through connections, and sent him back to the warring states era."
Sasuke: "It was quite a hard-mode mission."
Kenshin: "If you're my ninja, accomplishing at least that much should be expected."
Sasuke: "Because of this other version of myself I don't know, the expectations for me are way too high."
After muttering this, Sasuke gently closed the book.
Sasuke: "Still, it seems that with Lord Shingen's survival, the warring states period has settled down."
Kenshin: "I also told him about Kicho."
Kenshin: "By putting his personal feelings aside and forming an alliance with the Oda forces, he left no openings for enemies to exploit."
Sasuke: "Thanks to that, the conflicts that had spread across the land quickly settled, and Japan entered an era of peace."
Sasuke: "Of course, no war would last another five hundred years."
Turning his face toward the window, he looked out at a prosperous, peaceful scene with no swords or guns in sight.
Sasuke: "Everything you did was for that woman named Mai, right?"
Kenshin: "That’s right."
With eyes filled with resolve, Kenshin's fingers clenched tightly.
Kenshin: "In the past, I wished to have my beloved returned to me in exchange for bearing the burden of historical turning points."
Kenshin: "The fact that I am here means there was a presence that heard that wish and set a mission for me."
Kenshin: "I took on the role of ending the warring states period and guiding us back to a normal future at that time."
That day when he held Mai, and cried out to the heavens, everything changed from that moment on.
Kenshin: "I don't believe in gods, but if it means resisting fate, I'll cling to anything."
Sasuke: "..........."
Kenshin: "I live without going mad for the sake of that small hope."
Kenshin: "But I guess you could say that obsession is just another kind of madness."
His restrained, low voice trembled with sadness, causing Sasuke's chest to ache as he listened.
Kenshin: "I've made you listen to such trivial things."
Sasuke: "It's fine, but I hope you can meet that woman someday."
Kenshin: "Yeah. I’ll definitely find her."
With his long eyelashes lowered, Kenshin stood up and headed towards the door that led to the hallway.
Sasuke: "Are you leaving? You forgot your book."
Kenshin: "I'll leave it. It's an apology for that broken smartphone of yours."
Sasuke: "Oh, so you do feel a little bad about it."
Sasuke: "Next time, I'll have a new one ready for you."
Without responding to the voice that followed him from behind, Kenshin quietly exited the room.
Leaning against the wall, Sasuke let out a small sigh.
Sasuke: "Mai, where are you?"
After that, even as the sun set, Kenshin walked alone through the brightly illuminated streets.
Kenshin: "The future is overflowing with lights."
As if guided, memories floated in his mind.
------------Flashback-----------
Mai: "Do you still think this firefly's light is foolish yet beautiful, Kenshin?"
Kenshin: "Their light that reaches out to their loved one, even when it means risking everything, shines in my eyes like something beautiful and deserving of respect."
---------Flashback Ends--------
A long time has passed since then. Yet, the feelings that never faded have grown even larger, and the light that danced in the darkness etched in his memory was still dazzling.
Kenshin: "Where are you, Mai?"
As he moved forward without showing any interest in the towering buildings or the elegantly dressed people around him,
Kenshin: "-----!"
His gaze became fixed on a woman walking across the main street.
Despite the throngs of people filling the area, she appeared to shine in Kenshin's eyes.
Kenshin: "I finally found you."
[Mai’s POV]
(Good thing I decided to check out the exhibition!)
I was walking in front of the station, holding a newly purchased design art book.
(Still, I wonder when this discomfort in my heart will finally disappear.)
Whenever I touch something I've loved since long ago, an unfamiliar sadness wells up inside me.
It's as if the memory of having lost something important is tingling inside me.
(But that's not the case.)
To shake off the gloomy feelings, I lowered my gaze to the art book.
Mai: "Alright, I'll study this carefully."
(Whoa!?)
Suddenly, someone yanked my arm from behind, causing my body to sway.
Startled, I looked up to see a breathless man looking down at me.
(Huh?)
The man, with a face reminiscent of sculpture, spoke up.
???: "Mai!"
(-----!)
The moment he called my name, warmth filled my eyes.
Mai: "Huh?"
(Why am I crying?)
My vision blurred, and warm droplets ran down my cheeks.
No matter how much I wiped them away, I couldn't stop the tears from falling.
Mai: "I’m sorry! I don't know why I'm..."
???: "........."
The man bit his lip sadly and gently wiped the tears from my eyes.
His palm was warm, gentle, and slightly trembling.
(This person has different colored eyes.)
(What is this feeling?)
An incomprehensible emotion stirred my chest like a storm.
???: "First of all, I apologize, but I can't let you go now."
Mai: "But this is the first time we've met, right?"
My voice trembled as I asked the question.
The gaze directed at me was so sharp and intense.
(Why does he look at me like this, even though we've just met?)
???: "That's right. But I have been waiting for you all this time."
(Oh.)
He gently pulled me into his arms.
Mai: "L-Let me go!"
???: "No."
Even though I was confused, I couldn't shake off the warmth that enveloped me.
(I know this warmth, but I can't remember.)
(I don't know anything. I don't even know his name.)
When I raised my gaze, my eyes locked with his as he stared at me.
???: "I finally found the piece of my soul."
His earnest voice weighed heavily on my chest.
(My heart is trembling so much.)
(I want to return his feelings, but I can't remember him.)
It feels as though something unseen is holding me back.
I wanted so badly to embrace this man whose name I didn't even know. Yet, just as I was about to wrap my arms around him, I stopped.
(Why? It feels like I don't have the right to.)
Mai: "I'm sorry."
???: "Why are you apologizing?"
Mai: "I don't know. But it feels like I have to."
(I mean, there has got to be something I should apologize for.)
I desperately held back the sob that threatened to escape.
???: "Mai, no matter how much you try to refuse me, I will continue to call you, even if it costs me my life."
With an expression mixed with frustration and loneliness, he tightened his arms around me even more, as if he were binding my heart for eternity, stopping all time around us.

I think that during the first and second wars Death Eaters did attack Muggles, but nothing so extreme that it would make Muggle headlines. It seems like when it comes to attacking Muggles Voldemort kept the Death Eaters on a tighter leash than when they would attack their fellow wizards and witches.
Why do you think that is? I can imagine a fair few Death Eaters itching for the chance to really let loose and go on a rampage, to break the Statute and show the Muggles just how "inferior" they are. Why do you think Voldemort kept them mainly focused on the Wizarding World?
I think it might be because, growing up during the Second World War and especially during the Blitz, Voldemort knows just how dangerous Muggles really are, something that the Death Eaters truly don't get at all. Muggles have waged war on such a destructive scale that the Wizarding World never has, which Voldemort has seen first-hand.
I already talked about it here and here, and you're right. During the first war, Voldemort clearly kept more of a leash on his Death Eaters — both when attacking muggles and fellow wizards. The only wizards that seemed to be free reign for the Death Eaters to attack were those affiliated with the Order of the Phoenix, and even then he only allowed them to be killed really towards the end of the war from 1979.
And I think that's because he doesn't really want a lot of people dead. Like, he's not a good guy, he won't mind if some died, but Voldemort consistently tries to avoid what he considers unnecessary casualties, both magical and muggle.
In the second war, his patterns change somewhat since his goal is different. As I talked about here. He no longer just wants to distract the ministry with war while he does his thing, he wants to kill Harry Potter. Because that's his sole focus, he isn't nearly as involved (He is so uninvolved in his own government takeover Umbridge can walk around with Slytherin's locket and claim it as her family heirloom without dying a torturous death) and the first chapter in HBP shows how that effects the muggle casualties:
How on earth was his government supposed to have stopped that bridge collapsing? It was outrageous for anybody to suggest that they were not spending enough on bridges. The bridge was fewer than ten years old, and the best experts were at a loss to explain why it had snapped cleanly in two, sending a dozen cars into the watery depths of the river below. And how dare anyone suggest that it was lack of policemen that had resulted in those two very nasty and well-publicized murders? [The murders were Vance and Bones, both witches] Or that the government should have somehow foreseen the freak hurricane in the West Country that had caused so much damage to both people and property?
(HBP)
The Death Eaters clearly attack muggles in the second war when Voldy just isn't there to tell them no. Yes, the two outright murderers were of witches, but the bridge collapse and the hurricane clearly hurt and killed muggles.
So, in the first war, yeah, Voldy didn't want to cause unecessaariy death among both muggles and wizards. In the second war, he cared way less about keeping his Death Eaters in line, but, still, when given the chance, when he was on the scene, he did limit them:
You have fought,” said the high, cold voice, “valiantly. Lord Voldemort knows how to value bravery. “Yet you have sustained heavy losses. If you continue to resist me, you will all die, one by one. I do not wish this to happen. Every drop of magical blood spilled is a loss and a waste. “Lord Voldemort is merciful. I command my forces to retreat immediately. “You have one hour. Dispose of your dead with dignity. Treat your injured.
(DH)
Yes, he is ready to kill each and every one of them if it means he gets what he wants (killing Harry Potter) but Voldemort wishes to avoid unnecessary death, both magical and muggle:
He saw the small boy’s smile falter as he ran near enough to see beneath the hood of the cloak, saw the fear cloud his painted face. Then the child turned and ran away. . . . Beneath the robe be fingered the hand of his wand. . . One simple movement and the child would never reach his mother. . . but unnecessary, quite unnecessary. . . .
(DH)
Voldemort lets muggle kids go after they saw him because their deaths aren't necessary. He thinks of himself as merciful. He doesn't kill without a reason and when he's around, he forces his followers to obay his own moral code.
But I don't think it has anything to do with him fearing muggles. I don't think he's too concerned with the well-being and secrecy of the wizarding population. Voldemort doesn't really care for ruling and would likely not lift a finger to help wizards if muggles found them out and decided to nuke them. I don't think he'd care enough to do something.
Like, he won't kill someone when he doesn't have a reason to, but he won't save someone if he doesn't have a reason to either.
Like, I think Voldemort is wary of muggles and would rather not reveal wizards to them, but I don't think that's his top concern in how he manages his Death Eaters. Because while he is wary, he does look down on muggles and thinks they would just never figure it out because they're too stupid (he thinks the same about most wizards, tbh). So, I don't think that's a big part of his motivation on why he avoids muggle casualties.

Salad is a Four Letter Word
Soooooo Venom seems to be popular again, especially with my new pal @ticklishdeadpool so this one is for you, buddy! 🍻
While I don't think I'm going to see the new movie I did decide to dig into my graveyard of abandoned fics. Found this WIP that I had started after the first movie came out and have now filled in all the gaps for your viewing pleasure. It was a little tricky as I haven't seen the movie in awhile, but hope I did okay. For that reason, I probably won't be writing anymore Venom fics for the current time, but at least this one will be out there now.
It's a totally nonsense-type of fic. lol Didn't really have anywhere that I was going with it so it had been abandoned, but still just fun, silly interactions between Eddie and Venom. With tickles of course! Me, write a fic without tickling? 🤣 Good one.
If you have a flesh-loving alien inside of you, you don't threaten to force him to eat salad. 😆
Venom (Movieverse)
Word Count: 2,546
"What are we doing here? We don't like this place."
Eddie let out an exasperated groan as he stood in the lobby of the hospital, waiting for the elevator to come back down.
"I already told you, Anne just wants to be safe and have Dan check me out. You know, just in case my body is having any adverse effects to you practically living inside me."
"We can assure you it is not," Venom gave an offended growl from inside of him just as the elevator doors opened.
"Yeah, well as much as I'd like to believe you we'll let the body scan decide that," Eddie nodded as he stepped into the elevator and pushed the button to the correct floor.
"Eddie doesn't trust us," the symbiote accused, prompting Eddie to roll his eyes as they moved up the floors of the building. For a powerful super alien from outer space he could sure be sensitive sometimes.
"Shut up, it's not that it's just that I need proof. I'm a reporter, and I like to have the facts."
"The fact is you're being a traitorous piece of shit."
The elevator finally stopped as they reached the selected floor and Eddie walked out into the hallway. He sighed heavily once he stopped in front of the door to Dan's office; his eyes looking up towards the ceiling as if trying to find his calm.
"Tell you what, if you behave here then we'll go get some McDonald's after this. Fair?"
"....Ok, deal. But lets make it a quick visit! I'm hungry!"
"You're always hungry," Eddie shook his head as he opened the door where the doctor and Anne were waiting.
"Hi Eddie, really nice to see you again," Dan welcomed him as he stood up from his desk and walked around to shake Eddie's hand.
"You too. Uh sorry we're late. My alarm didn't go off, and when I was trying to get out the door Venom was being his usual primadonna self and-Gaah!" Eddie grunted when a single symbiote tendril reached out and poked him in the ribs, just under the armpit.
"Keep talking, Eddie," Venom hissed threateningly; his head popping out from his host's back and wrapping himself over the wide shoulders.
"Well now I see who wears the pants in this relationship," Dan laughed, but it died out when Eddie gave him an annoyed glare, not finding his joke amusing in the slightest.
"It's a good thing you're a doctor and not a comedian."
"And it's a good thing you're a reporter and not a giant loser....oh wait," Venom snickered to himself while Eddie glared back at him.
"That's it. Deal's off."
"NOOOOO!!!" Venom wailed in sorrow as Eddie gave a smug grin and reconfirmed his earlier comment.
"See? Primadonna."
"Come on, guys, take it easy. This will all be quick and painless," Anne tried to break it up, though always finding their antics to be amusing.
"Yeah, it shouldn't be bad at all. Very standard procedure. So if you're ready we can get this all underway."
Eddie was then handed a hospital gown to change into as Dan led the way down to the lab.
.......................................
"Alright, buddy, we're gonna do an MRI now, and I know you don't like that so take a hike for a minute," Eddie instructed the alien as he gestured a thumb away from himself.
"Do I have to?"
"Just do it, would ya?"
"Ohhh ok," Venom grumbled as he seeped out of Eddie onto the floor, mostly forming into a blob, but with a serpent-like head extending out. Eddie blinked for a moment and then smirked down at the symbiote.
"You know, I never noticed how cute you actually look like that."
"We are not cute!" Venom glared up at him as Anne looked the symbiote over and nodded.
"You kinda are," she agreed with a grin, causing Venom to hiss and slither off out of the room.
"Well lets get this over with before Venom has a heart attack from not eating for thirty minutes," Eddie joked, purposely saying it loud enough for the alien to hear.
"It's been an hour, you prick!"
"Ooooh sorry, one whole hour! Someone better call CPS on me," Eddie rolled his eyes and climbed up onto the table. He then laid down with his arms at his sides as Anne looked back at Dan to give him the go ahead.
"Alright, we're all set. Here goes nothing," Dan said over the speaker as he controlled the conveyor to slide into the tube until only Eddie's legs and feet were sticking out, "Now try not to move and this won't take long."
"Got it," Eddie nodded, but with the position he was in Anne couldn't resist teasing him a little.
"Comfy in there?" Anne grinned playfully, running a finger up the bottom of Eddie's bare foot as the man yelped and jerked his leg.
"He-Hey! Well not when you do THAT!"
"Sorry, it's just too easy," she briefly tickled his other foot receiving another squawk of objection as Eddie pulled up his knees to put his feet flat on the table.
"Heehee, stop it!"
"Get him again, Anne," Venom goaded into the microphone from where he sat next to Dan inside the control room as Eddie yelled back at him.
"Shut your mouth, parasite!"
Dan was trying to remain professional, but had to use his hand to cover his mouth so he could hide his amused smile.
"Lay still, please. Anne, leave the patient alone."
Anne smirked, giving him a wink as she walked away to join Dan and Venom. Once he saw that she was at a safe distance Eddie put his legs back down.
A few moments later the machine came to life and began the in-depth scan, while the three observed on the monitors in the control room. After a minute of looking at the pictures on the screens Dan cleared his throat.
"Hmm. Well that's interesting...," the doctor trailed off in his thought, making Eddie assume something was wrong.
"What? What do you see?! He hasn't been snacking on my organs, has he?! Venom!"
"Actually everything looks perfectly normal. Organs are all intact, no restrictions in your blood flow, heart looks healthy, brain functions are top notch. All in all I'd say you check out just fine. It's incredible," Dan put his hands up in astonishment as he sat back in his chair.
"So you're saying that having Venom inside of him hasn't done any damage whatsoever?"
Anne was just as surprised to learn this new information as Dan shook his head in response.
"Not that I can see, no."
"Told you, pussy," Venom sneered haughtily, slithering out of the control room back into view while the conveyor drew Eddie out of the machine.
"Well that's a relief," Eddie sat up and immediately began putting his clothes back on, "Guess I can sleep better tonight knowing that this parasite inside me isn't leeching off of my body so much."
"That can easily change if Eddie keeps calling us names...," the symbiote growled as Eddie just shook his head with an amused smirk. Dan then walked out into the room, scribbling some notes onto a clipboard.
"Alright, well since we're all done with that it's safe for Venom to get back into your body now."
"Yes!" Venom whooped as he quickly hurled himself at Eddie, knocking him back onto the table.
"Hey! Watch it!" Eddie grunted as he then found himself forced off of the table to his feet.
"Come on, lets go Eddie! Now!" Venom shouted as he took control and yanked Eddie's body across the room towards the door much to the surprise of the other two.
"Uhh, goodbye?" Anne gave an awkwardly half-wave.
"I promised him McDonaaaaaaald's!" Eddie's voice faded as Venom violently drug him out of the room.
A SHORT WHILE LATER....
"Happy now?" Eddie asked with a sickened frown as he recanted watching Venom devour over ten quarter pounder cheeseburgers. The alien belched in response from inside of him as they walked down the sidewalk.
"Yes. That will probably hold us over for another hour or so."
"You know, you're a pretty expensive date," Eddie groaned as he looked into his wallet, only having a few dollars remaining now.
"Would you rather we ate a human instead?"
"Uhhh no, heh. No, I'd appreciate if you didn't do that," he laughed nervously as he glanced around at all the people on the busy street that Venom could easily snatch up if he so desired.
"Well then you shouldn't complain. Besides, you love us."
"In a really screwed up kinda way, yeah I guess so," Eddie smirked, "Now shut up, will ya? People are gonna think I'm crazy if they see me walking around and talking to myself."
"People already think we are crazy," Venom pointed out, making Eddie shake his head.
"Not complete strangers. Now not another word until we get back home. Got it?"
"But Eddie we can't stay quiet that long..."
Eddie just kept his mouth closed, pretending he didn't hear anything.
"Eddie...."
Still Eddie continued to ignore him
"EddieEddieEddieEddieEddie!"
Eddie just continued facing forward as he focused on getting back to his apartment down the street.
"Ignore me will you...," Venom then grinned slyly as he crept out underneath Eddie's jacket to stay unseen and then gently squeezed the man's shirt covered ribs, making his body jerk in an unusual fashion.
"Gggnnh! You little...!" Eddie yelled just as he was passing a mother with her child, who looked at him accusingly as she pulled her daughter closer and hurried on.
"I'm...I'm sorry, I didn't mean....Not her, I just....," he tried to explain himself as he stammered after them to no avail, hearing the mother mention something to the little girl about, 'That is why you don't do drugs'.
Venom chuckled at how perfect the timing of that had been as Eddie growled.
"Alright, very funny. Now stay still and stay quiet," he muttered, trying not to move his lips too much as his outburst had attracted some unwanted eyes.
He'd made it another half a block before his sides were being attacked again as he stumbled and clamped his arms down.
"Eeheehee!" He gave a high-pitched giggle, prompting some of the street vendors to give him odd looks as he blushed and tried to walk a little faster.
"Will you stop? You're making me look insane."
"Can we talk again?"
"No!" Eddie hissed, "Just keep your fucking mouth shut, and wait until we-Ehahahah!"
The tentacled goo dug into his armpits for a few moments as Eddie squirmed in place and laughed wildly.
"No, not there!" He yelped just as the tickling stopped, looking up to find people had paused on the street to stare at him with curious eyes.
"I uh...heh.....I'm just uhhh....," when he couldn't think of any kind of believable explanation he quickly just turned and walked away again.
"I hate you so much right now," he whispered loudly through gritted teeth, hearing Venom laugh from within and knowing he was getting a big kick out of making Eddie look like a fool.
"Think that's funny? Well guess who's eating nothing but salads for the next week or two."
Venom's snickers immediately were cut off as he was now silent for a moment.
".....You're bluffing," his voice was full of uncertainty and worry and that made Eddie smirk, knowing he had the upper hand now.
"Tickle me again and find out, fucker," Eddie threatened vaguely, and just let Venom stew in his thoughts for now about whether he was being serious or not.
It seemed to work as he had now made it a few blocks without incident, even stopping to have a nice chat with Mrs. Chen when he came across her sweeping up her store front.
"Evening, Mrs. Chen."
"Hello Eddie. Not going to buy a chocolate bar today like usual?"
"No, no chocolate. I was thinking about going on a diet actually," Eddie smirked slightly as he rubbed at his stomach.
"Ohhh, he's not going to like that," she smiled, referring to Venom and knowing that he was the one who had the sweet tooth.
"Well it's for his own good. Besides he's been misbehaving a lot lately so I had to put my foot down. Say you don't happen to sell any saHAAlads, do yoohou?" His body spasmed out of nowhere as the shop keeper gave him a concerned look.
"What's wrong, Eddie? Are you ok?"
"Yeah, I'm f-INE! I'm juhust....Venom keeps....teehehehehee...I...I gotta go-ho, Mrs. Chen," Eddie stuttered through his giggles as he gave her a wave and continued on his way down the street.
"Don't worry, dear, he'll be back for that chocolate," Mrs. Chen called to Venom with a smile as the alien peeked out from under the back of Eddie's jacket and gave her a wink.
"V! What did I tell you?!" Eddie spat once they were out of earshot, "You really want to eat nothing but salads for a week?!"
All was quiet for a few moments before Venom finally gave a reply that made Eddie's skin crawl.
"Worth it."
A split second later and the tendrils were everywhere on his upper body; this time staying underneath his t-shirt to get directly at the bare skin. They were wriggling all over from his hips and belly all the way up his sides into his armpits, and there was nothing Eddie could do to try to hide his reactions.
The man was in a laughing fit now as he nearly fell over but managed to find his footing and continued to hurry down the sidewalk despite all the people staring at the hysterically laughing man as he went by. The tickling was unrelenting this time as he desperately looked for some kind of escape.
He finally was able to duck down an alleyway, stumbling and tripping over a garbage can as he went further down. After giving a brief look to make sure no one was around he collapsed with his back against a wall and shouted through his laughter.
"Okaaahaay! Okaahaahaaay! Hahahaha! You caahaan tahahalk agahahain! Now pleeeheease st....stop tihihickling meeheee!" His arms uselessly pressed to his sides as he kicked out and squirmed.
"And the salads.....?" Venom pressed with goo squirming up to tickle the reporter's sensitive neck as well, making him squeal out giggles.
"A johohoke! Juhuhust a johohohoke! Ahaahahaheeheehee! Plehehease buhuhuddy! I'm sohohorry!" Eddie shouted for mercy and was grateful when it was granted to him as he tried to calm down and get his breath back. Venom then popped out of his jacket to give him a shit-eating smile.
"Nice of you to come around, Eddie."
"....You're an asshole," Eddie glared playfully at him, giving him a small shove.
"Takes one to know one."
"Yeah? I thought I was a pussy?"
"Yes, but you're our pussy," the symbiote replied as Eddie's face gradually twisted in revulsion.
"Uhhh, thanks? I mean, that hardly sounds like a compliment, but thanks?"
"The best pussy we've ever had," Venom grinned proudly, in his mind thinking that had sounded better as Eddie only sighed and put his face in his palms.
"Please stop."
"Definitely the biggest."
"You can still eat me, right?"

Kinktober Day 30
AND WE'RE BACK FOR A FOURTH TIME. It's that lovely time of the year where I write mediocre smut with no plot for a whole month. So sit your ass down and take a few minutes to read some smut.
As always, kinktober is held by our local Napoleon simp, @xxsycamore
If you'd like to read the last three years, go here
Remember to reblog and tell me what you think
Somno | Aftercare
It was still early in the evening but you were already feeling exhausted. So exhausted that you could barely keep your eyes open. It's not like you did anything differently today. Why are you so tired?
"You look exhausted," Charles says from across the table, noticing how your eyes keep fluttering.
"I feel like I'm going to pass out. I don't know why though," you run a hand through your hair and let out a deep breath.
"Are you not feeling well? Did you not sleep enough last night," he tries to reach over the table to feel your forehead.
"No no. I'm fine," you get him to sit back down.
"Go to bed and rest, I'll help with clean up," Faust suggests.
Vlad gives Faust a weird look. "I don't think I've ever heard you offer to help."
"Don't expect me to do dishes."
It used to be just Charles who did all the cleaning. But once you started living there you have been helping him with chores.
"Now go to bed. I don't need you exhausting yourself."
He urges you to go to bed so you do. Heading up to his room you aren't sure how you didn't collapse while walking.
"Ugh. What's wrong with me."
You get there and start to change but only get as far as taking your outer clothes off before you flip down on the bed, thinking this is good enough.
The moment your head hits the pillow you are out. You didn't even get the chance to cover yourself with the blanket.
Not long later Faust comes into his room, not even being careful of being quiet. He knows you're not waiting up.
Shutting the door he walks over next to the bed. His hand grabs your jaw and has your face looking towards him. You don't stir.
He chuckles to himself. "Maybe I used a little too much."
He lets you go and gets your underwear and bra off, dropping them into the pile of the clothes on the floor. His clothes join the pile and he gets on the bed.
"Maybe I should have warned you. Charles is going to be annoying over this," he huffs and spreads your legs open. "But you not knowing is so much more fun," he leans down and kisses your chest.
He holds one of your boobs tightly and kisses your nipple before giving it a slight bite. A soft whimper comes through but it's clear that your body is too tired to even react.
"Just like a ragdoll."
He sits back up, getting your legs spread wide and thrusts into you, moaning. The moment he is in you he starts fucking you. He doesn't even need to wait for you to adjust. The only way you are moving is if he moves you.
His thrusts into you hard. If you were awake you would already be screaming, but you make only moans and whimpers. Your body feels too heavy to move it. You won't know until morning when you are sore that anything even happened.
Faust feels as if he's never been able to get so deep. He moves your legs so that your knees are to your chest, essentially forcing you into a breeding press.
"F-fuck you're better unconscious."
His cock is being sure to bruise your insides. Hitting your cervix over and over. He wants you to feel it tomorrow. He wants you to feel cum leaking out of you all day.
He grabs your hands and pins them above your head. It's not like you are going anywhere but pinning you down feels so much better.
He leans down and kisses your neck, biting you a few times to leave marks before finally sinking his teeth into you. Your body seems to jerk for a moment but he isn't phased.
"It's so much better when you can't move," he growls. He knows he didn't have to ask you about any of this. You want it. He knows you do. There's no purpose in asking when he already knows.
He grits his teeth as he pushes you into the mattress. He feels himself getting close but isn't slowing down.
"Ungh, f-fuck."
Even as he cums he keeps thrusting into you. At first it was fuck to get all the cum out, but now with your walls slick with his cum he doesn't want to stop again. He wants to fuck that cum so deep inside you that you are dripping your days. That at any moment you're ready to be fucked because you are still slick with his cum. So he keeps fucking you until he's the one ready to pass out.

“Sunshine the Ghost whisperer” Simon ghost Rylie x Sunshine!OC!Reader
Part one of ?
Warnings none
Word count — 1659
Would you want to see a second part?
"Sunshine" was the name that the 414 had affectionately given you. To many of the men on the task force, your presence was a mystery. They couldn't fathom how someone like you had earned a spot among them, particularly Ghost. He was a man of stark contrasts—brash and unyielding, thriving in solitude. For him, the task force was a sanctuary, a place where emotional entanglements were non-existent. Here, he could navigate through challenges without the burdens of vulnerability, relishing the freedom of being hard-edged and unapproachable.
One evening, as the task force gathered after a long day, the atmosphere was filled with a mix of exhaustion and camaraderie. They sat around in a circle, their banter filling the air.
Gaz looked over at you, his curiosity piqued. "Hey, Sunshine," he began, a hint of teasing in his tone, "I've been wondering something about you."
You turned your gaze towards Gaz, a subtle smile playing on your lips.
"And what's that?" you asked, your voice as soft and soothing as a gentle breeze. Gaz chuckled, exchanging a glance with Soap, who sat beside him.
"Well, considering the nature of this task force," Gaz began, "I have to ask, how did someone like you end up here, among us? You're a medic, yeah, but your personality just seems..." His voice trailed off as if searching for the right words.
Soap grinned, leaning in slightly. "Yeah, you're like a ray of sunshine in the middle of a storm. It's kinda refreshing, to be honest." He chuckled, his eyes reflecting genuine warmth.
Soap eyebrows lifted. "Unexpected paths, huh?" He chuckled. "Don't leave us hanging. We're all ears."
Gaz nodded, a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. "Yeah, spill the beans, Sunshine. We've got time to kill."
You leaned back, your eyes taking on a thoughtful expression. "Alright, I suppose I can reveal a bit of my story."
Soap and Gaz leaned in, their attention focused on you. The flickering fire cast shadows on their faces, making their expressions even more eager.
"I started in the medical field, working in civilian hospitals. But one day, an opportunity arose through a friend." Your voice was calm, betraying no hint of past turmoil. "The 141 task force was looking for a medic, and my friend thought I'd be a good fit."
Gaz and Soap exchanged glances, surprised by the simplicity of the tale.
"Just like that?" Gaz asked, a hint of skepticism in his voice. "You were just recommended, and you joined?"
You chuckled softly. "Well, it's not quite as simple as that. I had to go through rigorous testing and training."
Soap leaned forward. "So, you're saying you're a legit badass, even though you look like sunshine and rainbows?" You smiled a hint of mischief in your eyes. "Looks can be deceiving, Soap. I have skills that come in handy in this line of work."
Gaz chuckled, nodding his head. "I'll say. The way you stitch up some of these guys, you'd think you have magic hands." Soap chimed in, a smirk on his face. "Yeah, you've probably seen more body parts than a butcher, and yet, somehow, you're always calm and composed. How do you keep it together?"
You let out a soft laugh. "It's a necessary skill to have in this profession. Panicking won't help anyone. Plus, I've seen my fair share of gory scenes. I've learned to compartmentalize and focus on the task at hand when it counts most."
Gaz nodded approvingly. "That explains why you're always the steady rock in the chaos of a mission."
Soap chimed in, his eyes sparkling with playfulness. "Yeah, but don't you ever freak out? I mean, you see some pretty messed-up stuff, and you just calmly patch us up like it's another day at the office."
You smiled, the corners of your eyes crinkling slightly. "Occasionally, yes, there are moments when I feel the weight of it all. But panicking won't help anyone."
Gaz chuckled. "See, that's what's so amazing about you. You keep your cool, even in the most stressful situations."
Soap leaned in. "Is that why you always seem to know how to calm Ghost down when he's in a mood?"
Your expression softened a hint of knowing in your eyes. "Ah, Ghost. I've learned his cues, his tells."
Soap chuckled. "Yeah, he's a surly bastard most of the time. But when you're around, he seems a bit more...tolerable."
You laughed softly. "I try my best. He's always so guarded, so serious. Someone has to break through that tough exterior."
Gaz chuckled. "And you're the designated 'Ghost whisperer' now?"
You laughed. "Well, someone has to keep him from brooding all the time."
Soap smirked. "Yeah, who else would be able to handle his brooding better than you, a ray of sunshine?"
You shrugged. "He's just misunderstood, I suppose. There's more to him than meets the eye."
Gaz raised an eyebrow. "More than brooding and scowling? I'm surprised."
Soap chuckled. "Maybe you should start a support group for dealing with the grumpy Lieutenant."
You laughed, your eyes sparkling with amusement. "Oh, I'm sure that'd go over well. A support group for dealing with the Lieutenant's bad mood."
Soap snickered. "I can already picture the bumper stickers: 'My friend is a grumpy Lieutenant' and 'I survived a grumpy Lieutenant's mood swing.'
Gaz joined in, chuckling. "And the t-shirts: 'I survived Ghost's glare' and 'Grumpy Lieutenant is my spirit animal.'
You laughed harder, your laughter mingling with Gaz and Soap's. It was a unique moment of lightheartedness amid their dangerous profession.
Soap smirked. "You know, maybe we should start charging for your 'Ghost-Whisperer' services. You could make a killing."
Gaz chuckled. "Yeah, we could make a fortune. 'Grumpy Lieutenant Mood Swing Pass: Buy one, get one free.' People would pay top dollar to avoid his scowls."
You grinned, the corners of your eyes crinkling. "And we could offer additional perks like 'Limited Edition Grumpy Lieutenant Scowl Merchandise' and 'Ghost-Proof Armor for Dealing with His Glares.'"
Soap chimed in, his eyes sparkling with humor. "Definitely. And maybe we could create a special 'Ghost Temper Tantrum Survival Kit,' complete with earplugs, stress balls, and a 'How to Deal with a Grumpy Lieutenant' manual."
You chuckled, leaning back and enjoying the banter. "Don't forget the special 'Ghost Snark Translator' app. Just input his grumpy comments, and it'll provide a friendly, sunshine-approved translation."
Gaz laughed. "And let's not forget the 'Ghost Appreciation Society' merchandise. We could sell badges and T-shirts with his surly face on them as a sign of support."
Soap added, "And for the premium package, we could offer 'One-on-One Therapy Sessions' where you charge people a fortune to listen to Ghost's grumpy rants." You shook your head, your laughter now turning into light giggles. "Oh man, we could make a killing with that. We'll have to start investing in grumpy Lieutenant-themed merchandise immediately." You shook your head, your laughter now turning into light giggles. "Oh man, we could make a killing with that. We'll have to start investing in grumpy Lieutenant-themed merchandise immediately."
While the three of you were laughing you didn’t notice the man in question had walked into the room and had heard your conversation.
The laughter died on your tongue as you felt a presence behind you. Turning around, your eyes landed on the tall, imposing figure of Lieutenant Ghost, glowering at you.
A moment of awkward silence passed before Soap broke into a sly grin. "Ah, speak of the devil. Look who's here, just in time to hear us plotting his grumpy business empire."
Ghost's dark eyes flicked to Soap, his glare becoming even more intense. He wasn't amused by the ongoing banter.
Gaz chuckled nervously, trying to diffuse the tension. "Er, Ghost, we were just having a bit of a laugh about..."
He trailed off, unsure how to finish the sentence without pissing off the Lieutenant further. But you, ever the calm and collected one, took a step forward. "Just a friendly conversation about the benefits of grumpiness, Lieutenant."
Ghost's gaze shifted to you, his glare softening slightly, but only slightly. He stayed silent, his arms crossed over his broad chest. Soap, fearless as ever, decided to chime in again. "Yeah, we were thinking of starting a line of grumpy merchandise. Maybe some 'Ghost Scowl T-shirts' or 'Lt. Grumpface Coffee Mugs.'"
Gaz winced, bracing himself for Ghost's reaction.
Ghost's eyes narrowed, and he huffed silently, his shoulders tensing. He didn’t appreciate the idea of his grumpy persona being turned into a merchandise line.
You stepped closer, your voice gentle but firm. "We're just teasing, Lieutenant. Don't take it too seriously." Ghost's gaze shifted to you again, his eyes locking onto yours. For a moment, he held your gaze, a flicker of something indecipherable passing through his dark eyes.
Finally, he spoke, his voice gruff and gruff. "I don't find it funny. I don't appreciate my mood being the subject of your mockery."
Soap, ever the jokester, tried to lighten the mood again. "Come on, Lieutenant, lighten up. We're just joking around. It's all love."
Gaz facepalmed internally, wondering when Soap would learn when to stop. Ghost's eyes narrowed further, and he took a step closer to Soap. "I have no patience for your jokes. You'd do well to remember that, Sergeant."
Gaz and Soap exchanged nervous glances, realizing they'd pushed it too far this time. You, sensing the tension escalating, quickly stepped between Ghost and Soap, your presence a calming influence.
You smiled gently at Ghost, trying to soothe his irritated mood. "It was just a harmless conversation, Lieutenant. No harm intended."
Ghost's gaze switched back to you, and he seemed to soften again, his shoulders relaxing slightly. He huffed silently, his eyes flicking between you, Soap, and Gaz.
For a moment, he looked like he was contemplating saying something, but then he simply grunted, "Hmph," and turned on his heel, striding out of the room without another word.

"Come on, tell me what's up."
Jadzia was supposedly sitting with Julian in Quark's to have a long-overdue gossip with her friend, but after a few minutes of pleasant chatter, Julian had gone silent, and Jadzia was tired of waiting for him to volunteer what had happened.
Julian blinked, peering up at her over his screen as though he'd entirely forgotten she was there. "Sorry... what?" he asked slowly.
"You've been staring at your PADD, biting your lip, ever since you got that message? What was it?"
Julian's answering sigh was decidedly world-weary for someone who had yet to turn thirty. "Oh, nothing," he said, waving her off. "Just... Well. The commander's invited me to dinner on Thursday."
In Jadzia's books, being cooked for by Benjamin did not deserve Julian's despondency. "And that's bad because...?"
"It's not bad! Of course it isn't, it's nice to be asked, I'm- I'm looking forward to it--"
"You're an awful liar, Julian."
He grimaced at her. "Okay, I was looking forward to it. But then he sent me this and, I don't know, Jadzia - okay, he means well, but I'm not sure I can face it."
Jadzia looked at the message displayed on the PADD. >>I'm deciding what to cook for Thursday. I know you're not a fan of beets, are there any other foods you don't like?<< it said, giving her no clue at all as to why Julian was suddenly so anxious.
"Seems normal enough to me," she remarked. "What's the problem?"
That clearly had been the wrong question to ask. Looking away from her, Julian leant back against the chair, almost seeming to shrink as he pulled his shoulders into himself.
"I know it's stupid, and I should be more grown-up about it, but I just, I don't..." He reached over to take the PADD back, and started to stare at it again, as if the message contained some secret code that Jadzia was unaware of. His fingers were tapping a rapid pattern against the metal, and Jadzia's brain was working overtime to try and figure out what her friend was so anxious about.
"Come on, Julian, I can't help if you don't tell me what's bothering you."
Taking a deep breath, Julian looked up at Jadzia seriously. "Should I lie to him?" he asked in one quick breath, so earnestly that Jadzia had to lean over and reread the message, certain she must have missed something.
"Lie to him about what?" she asked, having assured herself that yes, Benjamin's question had been completely innocuous. "About what you don't like to eat?"
"Well, yeah..." Julian said quietly, shrugging. "Would that be so wrong?"
Understanding filtered through Jadzia's mind, and she reached out to squeeze Julian's arm. "You don't need to be embarrassed that you don't like some foods," she said, smiling gently. "Benjamin's not going to judge you for it."
"Even when I can't eat the dinner he cooks?" Julian responded sourly, snatching his arm away. "It won't matter what he does with them, I can't eat beets, Jadzia, I just can't."
Her eyes narrowed, and she looked at him coldly. "Hold up, are you saying that you think Benjamin wants to make you a dinner that you don't like?"
Julian frowned at her. "Well... no... He wants to make me like it, right? That whole dad-thing of changing my mind about beets and stuff, like that's never been tried before."
For a few seconds, words deserted Jadzia; all she could do was shaker her head at Julian in confused disdain. "Why would you think Benjamin would be so deliberately cruel?" she asked eventually. "It's not like he forced them on you at the staff dinner, we all saw your reaction. Why would you assume he's not simply asking you so that he can avoid cooking something you dislike?"
Now it was Julian's turn to stare wordlessly at Jadzia, his shoulders slackening as he processed what she had said. A few moments later, and his eyes had returned to the PADD once more, running over those few lines of text more times than Jadzia thought was really necessary.
"You really think that's what he meant?" he asked, scowling at the screen. "I guess... I guess that would make sense..."
Jadzia rolled her eyes. "Of course that's what he meant," she said. "Although if you really need confirmation I can always ask him."
"No!" Julian's head shot up to look at her, his eyes wide. "No, you don't need to do that, Jadzia - I'm just tired, I just read it wrong, that's all... You- you don't need to tell him about this. Please?"
"There's really nothing to be worried about, Julian," she scoffed. "You know he'd probably laugh it off--" Julian sent her a look of sheer panic, and she held her hands up placatingly. "...but no, I won't tell him anything, okay?" she continued quickly. "How much sleep did you get last night, anyway? You're really not acting like yourself."
Julian shrugged. "Not enough, evidently," he muttered, packing his PADD away in his bag and standing up. "Thanks, anyway, Jadzia," he said, smiling at her in that awkward, uncertain way of his. "I'm going to head back to my quarters now, I think."
"That's probably for the best," Jadzia agreed. "Get some rest. Tomorrow it's my turn to be the tired one."
"Funny," replied Julian dryly. He fiddled with his bag strap, seemingly reluctant to leave.
"Are you going?"
"Yeah, I just... Jadzia, you know I didn't mean anything- I mean, I wasn't trying to imply that I thought Sisko is, you know, cruel, or whatever, right? It was only that... Well, I thought- Well, no, I wasn't thinking--"
"Go to bed," Jadzia laughed, cutting him off. "You are thinking way too much right now. I'm still not sure how that idea crossed your mind, but clearly you're too tired to be coherent right now. I'm sorry I was cross, okay?"
"It's okay," said Julian quickly. "I was being stupid anyway."
"Just a bit," she replied, smiling at him fondly. "But then, I guess that's just you."
"Yeah. Just silly old me."
As he walked away, Jadzia felt a prickle of unease reach across her chest; Julian's smile had still not reached his eyes, and she wondered if her joke had been in good taste, given how anxious Julian apparently became when sleep-deprived. But she shrugged it off, reaching for her surprisingly untouched drink. If Julian was still in low spirits tomorrow, she'd apologise, but most likely a decent night's sleep would restore his normal good mood. There was no reason to worry.
