Instead of Billy being some mysterious being that no one knows is a child what if literally everyone in Fawcett knows.
like, Billy will go into an active terrorist attack and everyone will be like "Yeah okay, that's fine". he visits children's hospitals like he does as Captain Marvel but he turns back for the kids who are scared of his larger form.
When frustrated in a fight he'll throw a small fit at the villain and everyone won't call him immature or odd for it instead they go "Yeah, well he was a big meanie anyway!" and "I'd never wanna be that bully!".
After fights Billy will get taken out for milkshakes and such with the whole block drinking with him. he'll kick an officer in the knee and everyone will curse the officer out (using censored words of course, this is Fawcett, and they are with a child).
They find out he's homeless and suddenly a random black hair blue-eyed orphan kid owns the most expensive apartment in the city.
After Billy joins the league batman has a heart attack trying to figure out who he is with every member quietly doing the same.
For some reason, no one in Fawcett will tell them about his identity despite them clearly knowing it. it doesn't help that any information regarding it magically distorts after a couple of days ( Zatana had said it was a safety precaution for the Champions identity)
One day Billy invites them to Fawcett for his birthday party and theirs a giant crowd asking him to "go small" The league's confused because Captain Marvel doesn't "go small".
And then he goes small and everyone's treating the captain turning into a ten-year-old child as normal.
The league just stands there in shock as they realize that yes, Captain Marvel Is an orphan child and an entire city knew before they got any hint.
(batman cries himself to sleep that night)

Blah... Blah.. Blah.. Billy's Identity gets revealed and he is a poor sad traumatized 12 year old.
lame. old. angst ridden. we get it
consider
Captain Marvel is the ONLY Leaguer that has his identity secret. This goes on for YEARS before anyone find out and he fully in his mid to late 20s. I want Billy to reveal his identity a solid 15 years into being a super and well into adulthood.
Picture Billy Batson 25 nice beard, his body filling out and looking older and mature. College graduate and everything. Maybe he works at WizRadio as a full on newscaster persona / reporter so people know his face. Or maybe he embraced the magical side and is a known magic user in Fawcett that people go to.
After the - what 15 year? (if u want him to be a founder) or 20 year anniversary for the Justice League Founding. He's finally gonna do it reveal who he is. And its just a random 28 year old guy whom has been in the Sups business for how long? wait! Hold on-! Someone crunch the numbers. (TESSA ANALYSIS!)

my hot take is that jason leaving gotham permanently in order to separate himself from the bats is pretty terrible. he’s obsessed with that city and maybe it’s unhealthy but he loves it and it’s his home. he grew up in the heart of gotham and even as a kid he wanted to make it better. having jason leave gotham to give him independence is essentially just kicking him out of his home to not bother batman.
it’s also a cop out because can he not grow within the city? sure he would have to hold onto the city with his teeth because batman and co being there does make it more difficult…but when has jason todd ever chosen the cleaner and simpler option? he can go wherever he wants and those places can change him how they will but he will always return and make his final stands in gotham.

The Justice League doesn’t play “will they, won’t they” with Superbat — the problem is that they won’t, full stop, and the entire JL has to deal with the consequences of that decision at every single goddamned meeting.

Bruce knows Jason is dead. But when he sees a shockingly familiar looking figure in Crime Alley, one who made a comment implying he’s died before, he can’t help but hope. The boy doesn’t seem to entirely recognize him, but who’s to say having returned from the dead couldn’t have rattled his memories?
Danny is deeply torn. He’s been living on the streets of Gotham City ever since he ran away from Amity, and it sucks. He doesn’t want to exploit his powers for personal gain, but that was looking like it might be his only real option. Just using them to avoid conflict doesn’t put any food on his plate or get him any closer to a job.
Then this situation popped up, offering a vaguely-more-legal way forward. There’d be no way it could last, but it’s his first real chance at getting a proper meal and real bed to sleep in at night.
Except that in doing so, he’d be taking advantage of what is clearly a deeply grieving father. Even though the man is beyond rich (he may not be from Gotham but even he knows who Bruce Wayne is) and likely wouldn’t notice any monetary cost he spent on Danny, it’d be morally wrong to exploit his loss like that.
But Ancients if it isn’t tempting…

Bruce stared. He had just been lecturing one of his son on his gala manners. Dick or Jason were usually the ones misbehaving like that, not Tim! What had gotten into his son to behave like that in public when he wasn't even in a sleep deprived state. Of course, Bruce had to lecture his kid and benched him for the night to get some sleep because Tim had to be sleep deprived to act like that. That was untill said son, he was lecturing, came through the front door shouting at him for leaving him behind at the gala.
His head swayed between Tim and the teen he had apparently just abducted and possibly has now knowledge of their secret identities.
Okay, maybe Alfred was right about his amount of sleep. Bruce brain went to overdrive, he could play it all of with an extended Brucie act.
That was before the teen lifted on hand in a calming manner and sheepishly smiled at him.
Danny: I get the whole secret identity thing, but i dont think it's a good idea to bench me, when ghost might come attacking. I won't tell a soul about yours if you keep mine! I can make a death vow if that helps. So can I call vlad now? As much as I like getting on his nerves and away from him. HE is my original ride home.
Tim: Wait, Vlad Masters who pestered ME all night is your guardian?
Bruce continued staring at the teen that looked like Tim and was now talking to his son while his son was parallel texting on his phone. No doubt telling his other sibling.
Good, they will never let this go and Alfred will use this situation against him next time he works through several nights.

They won the lottery and inspired by Mr. Greg, they spent it all in one day by committing identity fraud.
Idk I took a second job and my brain is so fried right now. 😭

Superman (and by extension the rest of the League) find out about the whole Captain Marvel is a homeless ten year old thing. Of course, they’re trying to catch Billy so they can stop and/or house him, likely shunting him off to the younger teams, and all-around taking control of his life. Billy, wanting nothing to do with this, goes to the one man he knows would help him with no hesitation.
“Mr. Luthor”
“…Small child”
“How would you like to make Superman’s life harder?”
“Go on…”

Thinking about the CFAU and marveling at how much Danny and Jason care for one another. Does anybody else figure out that Danny is going to kill the Joker, or is that knowledge Jason exclusive? I can't see Danny being close enough to any other Batfam member to disclose his plans, but I wonder if he drops hints. They're a family of paranoid detectives. I'd be surprised if they don't figure out Danny has a PURPOSE for being in Gotham at some point. Whether Danny's able to disguise it as wanting to be closer to Jason or not is another burning question.
Its def Red Hood exclusive! You're right in that Danny isn't close enough to disclose his revenge plot to any of the batfam members -- hell, not even Sam and Tucker know his true motives for returning to Gotham, and they're his best friends right after Jason! And Red Hood knows only because Danny accidentally slipped up ;].
I do also think that the Waynes kinda think something might be up with Danny -- at least Dick and/or Bruce might since they're the only ones who actually know him beyond brief mentions of him. Tim knows about him due to his stalking, but doesn't really know him -- and Danny plans to keep a healthy, friendly distance from the family so he can carry out his plans.
It's not that he holds any dislike towards them -- quite the opposite. He appreciates what they do for Gotham and recognizes the hard work that goes into keeping their Rogues Gallery at bay (even if he is bitter about Joker, but there's an obvious reason for that) -- but, well. He knows they're the vigilantes, he doesn't want to risk them sniffing out his murder plot before he can even go through with it.
Luckily for him he can excuse any distance he puts between them as just being busy with life and trying to settle in, and they're not close enough to him anymore to find it suspicious. I do think they figure out he's back in Gotham for a reason, Danny's not going to exactly hide the fact that he's back to find some kind of closure -- but what that closure is?
I think the only person who might suspect something sinister going on would be Bruce, who saw the sinking rage in Danny's eyes at the funeral -- it was part of the reason he didn't tell him who killed Jason (beyond secret identity reasons). But that depends on whether or not Danny reveals some of his hand, and the fact that he was still holding onto that rage (somewhat unwillingly) all this time.
#dpxdc#danny fenton is not the ghost king#dp x dc#cfau#childhood friends au#cfau danny#dpxdc crossover#danny's kept this deep-seeded hatred close to his chest for years. he's so close to his goal he's more careful than ever. he's under the#watchful eyes of his home city and the even more watchful eyes of her knights. he can't make any mistakes here -- not after the last one#with red hood. every step he takes going forward must be a cautious one so he doesn't draw the light of the batsignal.#also! funnily enough danny doesn't blame bruce for jason's death. sure they had a fight but he's not the one who sold him out to the joker#he's not the one who beat him to death. who blew him up. he's bitter over the fact that bruce withheld the identity of his murderer from hi#but even he can recognize the need to protect one's secret identity so he doesn't hold it against him that much. he's bitter over the lack#of action against the joker but that's a personal vendetta and again he recognizes how hard it is to be a hero. he would never ask bruce to#kill the Joker. he recognizes the fact that a hero cannot play judge jury or executioner and he respects Bruce's adherence to his moral cod#he knows it must be hard and he agrees that batman shouldn't kill. ever. bc if the batman kills the joker what's stopping him from killing#the common criminal? its a level of self-restraint and self-awareness that all heroes must have. and he genuinely respects bruce for it#if someone wants the joker dead that bad they can go and do the deed themself -- that's what HE'S doing. danny recognizes that his revenge#is wholly selfish in nature. it is closure for him and jason and him and jason only. its not good its not righteous its murder and danny#has come to terms with it.

you ever think about how lloyd lost his childhood due to the tea, his teenage years to being a ninja + (gestures vaguely at harumi-induced trauma) and his early adult years to isolating himself from the world and grieving his friends? because I do

I know the respective fandoms of DC and Miraculous Ladybug have a certain disdain for MLxDC fics but I think there's a potential for fics where Luka leaves Paris and just keeps traveling to different US cities because he keeps figuring out secret identities and he's just this 15 year old kid growing increasingly frustrated and exasperated at how badly everyone hides their identities and he just has to pretend to be oblivious even tho it's Their Fault for being Bad At Secrets and shouldn't adults be better at this??????
