Eric has acquired numerous enemies throughout his lengthy life, but none frighten him more than Gordon. The animosity between the two runs deep, as they hold each other responsible for their decline in status within the Silvaton's main family branch.
After being accused of falling into 'Madness' and being deemed a threat to the pack, Eric's mate, Lisa Silvaton, turned on him. Soon after Gordon and the five elite exiled Eric, he began to interfere with Gordon's plans to introduce his future mate Cynthia Hartwright, a young human hunter, into the pack. In an attempt to end the ongoing feud between the Hartwrights and Silvatons, the two families decided to merge by having Cynthia and Gordon get married. However, Eric saw this as an opportunity to cause even more trouble and planned to strike during this delicate time.
Staging Cynthia's death to her family, Eric then set a trap for Gordon and the pack he sought so desperately to join and waited for the chaos to unfold. The resulting confusion would lead to a young male Lycanborn (The eldest son of Olivia Silvaton - head Matriarch) being killed in Cynthia's name. Forced to defend Cynthia and her family, Gordon and his parents help the Hartwrights escape thus never seeing Cynthia again.
Due to his parents and his actions, a massive divide occurred within the Silvaton pack causing Gordon and his parents to splinter off, and move to Cold Spring New York. Where he is to raise his younger sister Stratus for the next hundred years after the sudden and tragic murder of their parents.
Tumblr media
It wasn't until Eric returned to Cold Spring that their feud finally reached its boiling point. Thus resulting in Gordon joining his sister's pack. Here, he trains Rebecca, Cara, and Emma in hopes of turning them into the same dangerous Lycans he and Stratus. As he and Stratus have big plans for them.

So, I have another crazy story about the clinic where I used to work; this time as a patient instead of an employee. Under a cut because it's very long.
So back when I first got really sick, I was in the hospital a few times primarily for really high heart rate. I work out a lot and my normal resting heart rate is in the 60s; back in February I suddenly started getting palpitations, and my heart rate was going up to like 140 bpm just standing at my bathroom sink washing my face. I wore a seven day monitor at one point and my highest recorded heart rate on that was 157 bpm--just shuffling like a zombie around the house. I was also super weak and just felt overall like death.
Hospital runs a bunch of labs and imaging tests and can't find anything that would explain it. The last doc I saw said there was a bright spot on my echocardiogram monitor that could just be flashback from the monitor, but taken with some of my symptoms, he felt OK with a presumptive diagnosis of pericarditis (inflammation of the sac around your heart), especially as the treatment is just high dose ibuprofen for a week, nothing invasive or drastic. I need to follow up with a cardiologist, but I don't have a primary care physician who can refer me to the heart clinic. I had just turned in new patient paperwork at a local clinic so I contacted them to see if I could get in, but they said it would likely be a month before I could be scheduled with anyone.
In the meantime, the ibuprofen isn't working and my condition is getting worse. I have my next period, and after a couple of heavy days, I get even weaker, my heart rate goes even higher, and I get really dizzy all the time. I also am now short of breath just rolling over in bed. I legit feel like I'm dying. Because my symptoms get worse after blood loss, it suddenly pops into my head that about 17 years ago after a blood donation I got really sick, and all my symptoms that I can remember having at the time are the same, especially the cardiac issues. I took iron back then and that resolved it. I started wondering if my iron was low, did a bunch of research into iron deficiency without anemia, and realized every single symptom, including ones I had been having for a while prior to the heart issues (terrible fatigue, brain fog, headaches, sleep disruptions, restless legs at night) could be from low iron.
So I need to get labs done, and also I do still need a referral to make sure my heart is ok. I can't get in with anyone, so out of desperation, I go back to my old clinic because I know they'll get me in quickly. They schedule me an appointment for the next day with a doc who is going to turn out to be batshit crazy.
I go to my appointment with my presumptive diagnosis of pericarditis, and the doctor asks if I had the Covid shot. I tell him yes, but my last booster was in 2021, so not relevant here.
Well boy howdy was I wrong. He launches into a whole-ass rant about how bad the shots are, how many people have been injured by them, tells me I, a formerly very healthy, athletic woman, now have heart issues due to the shot, etc. etc. I say, 'Ok, but would the shot really randomly cause me issues three years later when I was perfectly fine after I got it?' (The answer is no.) Doc stays the course in blaming the shot. I have paperwork I need filled out for medical leave from my job, and he PUTS ON MY PAPERWORK THAT I HAVE TO TURN IN that my cardiac issues came on and progressed after the shot (three YEARS after, you DUMBASS) and that his impression is post vaccine injury. I feel too badly to do much more than sway on the exam table and occasionally interject that I had the shot three years ago and I don't think that's the problem. The majority of my appointment is him ranting about the shots. Whatever, I'm desperate, give me my fucking referral to the cardiologist and order my iron panel.
I get labs done and sure enough, my iron is low. I start supplementing and shortly afterwards get a call from the cardiac clinic; I lucked out and got in just a few days after my referral was sent to them because someone canceled their appointment last minute. I see an ARNP at my first visit and she says the echo I had done at the hospital looks fine to her, but they'll do a seven day monitor, a repeat echocardiogram, and have me follow up with the cardiologist just to make sure they don't miss anything.
So they do this, and in the meantime, after a couple of weeks on iron supplements, I start slowly but steadily feeling a bit better. My fatigue and brain fog that I was having every day improve significantly after only a week on supplements. My dizziness goes away. I feel a tiny bit stronger every day and now can sit up longer and start holding conversations with people. It's slow but steady progress for about three weeks: and then I get my period again. It doesn't knock me back to square one, but I definitely take a couple of steps back in my recovery. It's a little lighter this time, though, which is a good sign.
I follow up with the cardiologist. He says actually my heart is in really good shape; no signs of pericarditis or anything wrong with it; my high heart rate isn't due to a cardiac issue. Cool. I didn't think so at this point, but good to hear I don't have heart issues.
So I go back to follow up with my doc and plan to ask to really focus on the iron issue since the cardiologist confirmed my heart is fine. I have come a long ways but am still mostly bedridden; it is very slow to get your levels up on iron supplementation, and every time I get my period, it sets me back a little. Maybe some low dose iron infusions would help boost my levels so my recovery doesn't go backwards on account of me bleeding for a week every few weeks.
Doc comes in the room. He is clearly Not Happy cardiology did not confirm his conspiracy theories about the shot injuring me. I tell him about the symptoms I have seen improve and even resolve after about six weeks on iron supplements, and how I think most if not all of my problems are from low iron. He pretty much completely ignores this. He asks me if my fatigue and brain fog have improved. I say, yes, they were some of the first symptoms to improve after I started taking iron. He does not even acknowledge I have spoken. He tells me he thinks I have a combination of chronic fatigue syndrome and POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) caused by the shot. I remind him I just told him my fatigue had improved a lot since starting iron. And my heart rate is coming down too and not spiking as much, my issue is that every period after I've been improving, I suddenly get a little worse again. He ignores this. He tells me he is going to refer me to the neurologist to check for chronic fatigue and POTS. Ok, whatever, I'm pretty sure I don't have those things, but fine, have another specialist tell you you're wrong.
After about eight weeks on supplements, I really feel like I'm starting to turn a corner. I don't feel normal, but my heart rate has come down quite a bit, I can stand and walk around a lot longer without feeling like I'm going to pass out, and I feel the closest to normal that I have been in months.
And then I get my period again and my heart rate goes back up. I'm super frustrated at this point because I was So Close to being a functioning human again, so I decide to push for a low dose iron infusion. I just want to boost my levels high enough to get me over this hump so every period doesn't set me back right as I feel like I'm coming back to life. I've read lots of papers on iron deficiency without anemia (meaning your hemoglobin is normal) and decide to make an appointment armed with one paper in particular which was written by a doctor who has been treating iron deficiency for decades, and which lays out really comprehensively the numbers at which patients should be considered deficient based on their labs and symptoms, what numbers you should shoot for when treating the iron deficiency (I am higher now but still quite a ways away from the goal), and also lists a bunch of symptoms women in particular have reported that have resolved with iron treatment. I highlight all the symptoms on the list that I have had, as well as other sections particularly relevant to my specific case. (Spoiler alert: I did not even give him the paper.)
So I go to my appointment and he asks if I've heard from the neurologist yet. I say no, I'm sure it will be a while (there's only one in town, and I'm sure it takes a long time to get in). In the meantime, I really want to focus on getting my iron levels up. I lay everything out: all the improvements I've seen, how my period keeps setting me back, and how I want to try just a low 100mg infusion to boost me up so I don't take two steps back every time I get my period. He tells me I have chronic fatigue and POTS as a result of the Evil Shot. I tell him, once again, that my fatigue has greatly improved on iron supplements. He does not even acknowledge I have spoken. He tells me a local doctor is being PERSECUTED and PROSECUTED for prescribing Ivermectin for Covid. Ok, that doesn't relate to my personal medical issues that we are here to discuss, and also, Ivermectin is not approved for the treatment of Covid. I ask him again if I can get a low dose infusion. I understand insurance probably won't cover it, that's fine, I can pay out of pocket, I just need him to order it. He tells me he personally takes Ivermectin. Good for you. Again, not related to my medical issues that I am here to dicuss.
I mention that I have had restless legs at night for a long time, because I know this at least is commonly associated with low iron, maybe that will get his attention; nope. He totally ignores me again. I even try blaming the shot for low iron (sorry, Covid vaccine, sometimes you have to take one for the team). I say I have read Covid and maybe even the shot can deplete your iron; maybe the shot did this to my iron. No dice. (Mr. Jenn did applaud me for trying when I told him about it, though.)
He starts in about my POTS again. I say, ok, but POTS is a postural issue, right? He says, yes! I say, ok, then if I have an issue where my nervous system doesn't regulate my blood flow properly when I change from sitting to standing, why is my resting heart rate way higher than normal when I'm just lying in bed doing nothing, and why has my heart rate been coming down and is not spiking like it was after several weeks on iron supplements until I get my period? I'm not sure that fits with POTS.
He again does not even acknowledge I've spoken.
I ask again for an infusion to help boost me up so I'm not set back every period. He says as long as I'm menstruating it will set me back. Yes, I am aware I will lose more iron on my period, what I am asking is that while I am in ACTIVE CLINICAL IRON DEFICIENCY can we please do something to speed up getting my levels high enough so every time I bleed it doesn't knock me down again. He asks if I have considered a hysterectomy or uterine ablation for the bleeding (you know, invasive surgeries, instead of talking about birth control pills, which he didn't even mention). I said that was kind of extreme and I didn't want to consider that right now. I ask him about the infusion again. He says it's not a concern. I say, yeah, it is, I am having debilitating symptoms that have left me bedridden for three months. I need to get back to my life and my job. He tells me Congress is investigating the shots and it will come out how bad they are, but a lot of people won't believe it. I say, well, that's Congress' business, can I please have an infusion. He tells me insurance won't cover it. I say I know, I already mentioned that earlier (while you were ignoring me in favor of ranting about a vaccine I had three years ago), I have a health savings account, I can pay out of pocket. He tells me he's pretty sure I have chronic fatigue and POTS but we'll see what the neurologist says. I need to call and see if I can get in more quickly with the neurologist. I say, ok, in the meantime, since realistically it could take months for me to get in with the neurologist, can I PLEASE HAVE A FUCKING INFUSION. He tells me if I want one I will have to badger another doctor into it. (I can't remember the exact word he used, but the way he worded it made it sound like I was trying to bully him. No, you jackass, I am asking for an extremely common, low risk medical treatment for issues that have left me unable to work or leave my house for anything other than doctor's appointments for THREE MONTHS.)
So I left incredibly frustrated, needless to say.
Next day Mr. Jenn goes to his appointment at the clinic I initially tried to get into to follow up on labs he had done for an annual physical, and his doctor tells him his cholesterol is slightly high, but not enough to be concerned, he just needs to watch his saturated fats and red meat intake. Mr. Jenn tells him we've actually temporarily increased our red meat intake because of my health issues. He then mentions all of the issues I've been having, my lab results, and how I've improved a lot on supplements, but keep getting set back by my period. His doctors goes, 'Have you guys looked into infusions for her? You should try that.'
I DID BUT MY DOCTOR IS CRAZY.
Mr. Jenn explains that I had asked for an infusion and my doctor refused. His doctor gives him a weird look and wants to know why. Mr. Jenn explains it's because he's super set on it being chronic fatigue and POTS and won't consider anything else even though my 'chronic fatigue' and 'POTS' symptoms have both improved on iron supplements. The doctor again gives him a weird look and asks why he's stuck on those diagnoses and won't consider iron deficiency.
Because he's crazy, good sir.
Mr. Jenn's doctor then suggests we see if I can self-refer for an infusion and just pay out of pocket, but you need a doctor's order even if you're not going through insurance, so the next day when the clinic opens, I call, explain I tried to establish care there earlier so they have my new patient paperwork, but that I needed an urgent referral, and had to go somewhere else because they were a month out, but I really (REALLY) want to change doctors, is <Mr. Jenn's doc> taking new patients? He is not, but they'll put in a note with one of the ARNPs accepting new patients to see if they're willing to schedule me.
However, I know the new manager of the clinic (actually an old coworker from the crazy clinic that I'm friendly with), so the other day I texted her, briefly explained the situation, and she asked which doctor I wanted to see and said she'll talk to him when he's back from the long holiday weekend and see if he would be willing to see me. She will let me know later this week (he's not back in till Wednesday). So fingers crossed I can get in with a non-lunatic soon.

It's definitely possible to be fat and be healthy. There are a lot of fit, health-conscious fat people out there.
That's not you though. Good lord, don't make me laugh.
With your diet? With your sedentary lifestyle? You're wobbling around with your organs smothered in the worst kinds of visceral fat. I bet you look like foie gras in there. Is it getting hard to breathe with your body filling up with lard?
Your eating habits are not only vile, but grossly inadvisable. I mean christ, haven't you heard of "empty calories"? If you are what you eat, then you're a disgusting heap of processed slop. I wouldn't be surprised if you sweat corn syrup.
But the good news is that a lot of your catastrophic health risks could be mitigated by a reasonable dose of exercise! The bad news though, is that you clearly don't give enough of a shit to get up off the couch. You're too lazy to do a single jumping jack -- even if it would save your life. Which it would. Or at least preserve what's left of it.
But instead you sit around sweating from the effort of existing. Your heart strains to squeeze enough blood through your fatty arteries. Your vital systems are three times beyond their maximum capacity. A whole extra woman -- a morbidly obese one -- is sitting on your chest and curling around your guts.
Be sceptical of anyone who pretends to pamper you. They're frightened of what might happen if you try to get that soda from the fridge yourself. You need to stay in bed and think easy thoughts and pray to god nothing inside you gives up.
I actually don’t have a lot of visceral fat but I feel like that’s missing the point LMAO this is fucking hot 😭

I tried the Panera charged lemonade, specifically the blood orange flavor. It was terrible, it wasn't sweet at all and tasted sort of like what a trashcan smells like. How could anyone drink so much of this that they died?
They had a heart condition and didn't pay attention to the caffeine dose that was listed for the beverage.
I think that's what it was at least.
If so the lawsuit is like someone highly allergic to peanuts suing because nobody told them the food they consumed contained peanuts and they didn't bother to look at the label.
On the subject of Panera food, I worked at one and I only ever really liked the soup, grilled cheese was good too but that much like soup is difficult to screw up.
My dad has a double bypass on the menu for next year, he has to drink decaff after it, if he buys a can of coffee that's labeled decaff but isn't decaff and bad things happen that's a lawsuit, if he buys regular coffee and bad things happen that's a darwin award.
I looked
Tumblr media
Also looked for what the in store marketing for the stuff was, no caffeine information on the signage on the stuff in a picture from July of this year.
Tumblr media
Doing that now.
I still stand by the idea that you should look if you have a known condition that could be agitated by all of that, but panera also could also have been more proactive.
level of caffeine in one serving of that stuff buts up against the generally agreed upon max safe amount of the stuff for healthy people.

Behind Masks (Dr. Jonathon Crane x OC) Ch. 18: The Price To Pay
Tumblr media
Okay, I admit it. This part of my job is the worst.
The past three mind-numbing hours have been nothing but listening to this dunderhead CEO rant about his new Ferrari. I don’t know what’s worse, the egotistical topic or how he keeps pushing off groping me as normal PDA. God, I can’t wait to kill him.
After the rushed meal he wraps an arm around me and all but tugs me down the sidewalk. Thank God this dress is modest because this perv doesn’t deserve a single inch of any woman. The only downside is that my arms are exposed. The past hours have left my skin vulnerable to scratches and bruises from his ‘love touches.’
“Another date later?” He smirks at me. “Huh baby?”
I stop in my tracks and glare daggers at him. “No.”
His face twitches. “Excuse me?”
“I said no.”
Apparently ‘no’ doesn’t exist in his vocabulary. “I don’t think you-”
“No, you don’t understand.” I push him away and jab a finger into his chest. “Your wealth gives you no position over me. You did not hire me as an escort or esteemed hooker. This was a simple date, nothing more.”
I want to kill him so bad! But this is definitely not the place nor the right time. The Reaper needs to kill him. Not me. And it needs to be somewhere private. Not in front of a five-star restaurant.
The man, still wearing the same dumbfounded expression, gets in his fancy car and drives away. Why do the clean-cut men always have to be so snobbish?
“Hey, Calico! Care to join me?”
Well, not all of them. Bruce Wayne may be rich but at least he treats everyone on the same level.
I look over to where the billionaire playboy is waiting by the place I just came from. This wouldn’t be a date with the intention of killing him. Can I risk it? Does he think I’m being paid for this?
“Sorry Mr. Wayne-”
“Please, call me Bruce,” he smiles warmly.
I can’t help but grow my own sad smile. “Sorry Bruce, but I’m letting go of being an escort.”
“I know,” he replies and walks closer. “I noticed the marks on your arm. I know it’s your decision but you really should inform the authorities if you’re being abused.”
Yes, I could do that. But that leads to investigations. Investigations that might look too closely in my apartment and discover my secret. I can handle a few bruises without getting the police involved.
“I’m fine, really. Maybe it’s just a bad taste in men.”
A bad taste that is intentional. The men’s behavior pinpoints my targets. I’ve come this far without letting love into my life and for good reason. The fear toxin proved that. Love clouds the senses and increases vulnerability. But if I could choose… If I could have a normal life, I wouldn’t want a hunky jock. I want someone gentle, thoughtful… smart. I guess sapiosexual thoughts are in the works after all. Like a certain someone I know…
“Well if you’re open to the idea, I’d like to take you out to dinner,” Bruce offers. “Not a date. Nothing too fancy. Just two friends.”
So I guess we’re friends now. “Do you promise a healthy dose of sparkling conversation?”
He chuckles at my witty question. “Potentially. If not then I promise the roast chicken is to die for.”
Maybe a normal evening is just what I need. “Alright, I’ll bite.”
He offers an arm, like a real gentleman, and escorts me to a comfortable seat in a corner booth without any uncomfortable touching. We both order the chicken and half an hour later I’m having a normal conversation instead of plotting to kill someone.
“Have you heard about the Reaper?”
Bruce’s casual question makes me pause in-between chewing. It was bound to come up eventually. The news hasn’t stopped reporting my kills so it’s only natural he would ask that. He could ask anyone.
“Rumors,” I answer. “I hear she drinks blood. Some say she’s in kahoots with Batman.”
A few false claims never hurt to hide a lie.
The mention of the caped crusader sparks his interest. “What do you think of him?”
“He’s far better than the police, I’ll tell you that. I don’t care what the news says. I don’t think he killed Dent. Though I must admit his methods appear sloppy.”
“Sloppy?”
“Yes, sloppy. He doesn’t kill, yet some of Gotham’s villains faced death because of him. Like Harvey Dent.”
His arrogant mask falters. “Harvey Dent was not a villain, Calico.”
“I heard differently.” I don’t think we’re on the same page for him to use my first name. “You didn’t invite me out because my parents were rich, did you Bruce?”
Would he want to associate with me if I was any other pedestrian on the street? Or are my instincts right and I really can’t trust anyone?
“Calico… How have you been coping with your parents’ death?” he asks softly.
Is he serious? That’s old news. I’m done grieving. My phobia of failing them is over. If anything their death has helped me become free of it.
“I’m over it. Death is death. They’re gone.” I don’t mean to sound cold but slips out. “I’ve found other things to give my life meaning.”
“What about the Arkham incident?”
I arch my eyebrows. “Their mistake.”
He knows. He must know. Why else would he be asking these questions? He- Uh-oh.
Why the heck is Harley standing outside waving her arms at me? Another good question is how has nobody noticed her?
“Forgive me Bruce, I’m afraid I’ve been called to an emergency.”
“Everything alright?” he asks as I grip my clutch and try to make a quick escape.
“My friend’s having a small crisis. Nothing too concerning but I do need to go. Thanks for dinner.”
One would think he’d take a hint but instead he tries to follow me. “Calico wait- If you ever need to reach out-”
I halt and hold up a hand to stop him. “I’m a former psychiatrist, Mr. Wayne. I’m pretty sure I’m aware of my own psyche.” As well as yours. “Goodnight.”
Thank God he stays behind. That would be completely awkward if I had to introduce him to my hyper friend. Harley’s picked out an outfit that’s surprisingly tame for her standards. Checkered leggings, knee-high converse, red and black top, and two perky pigtails.
“Hiya, Callie! I’m here to grab ya for Crane. Said something about an experiment involving death.”
“If he’s looking for a mortician’s advice, might I suggest a licensed professional? I have a method to my madness and I’d appreciate it if it went uninterrupted.”
The blonde pouts. “Aw, c’mon! Can’t ya help a friend out?”
“He is anything but friendly,” I bite. “Quit the act, Harley. We are not, nor will we ever be an item. So give it a rest!”
But she doesn’t. Instead she grabs my arm and drags me away. What is it with me being pulled around today? Can’t I just have a quiet evening alone? I shouldn’t fight her, though. Harley’s a loose cannon and for all I know she’ll blow up a whole block if I refuse. So it’s back down to the subway tunnels we go. Down go the walls I’ve been building and all at once my heart races at the thought of seeing the fear doctor.
“We’re here!” Harley chimes. “I brought her, just like ya said!”
Dr. Crane, sitting in a chair with his back turned, merely hums. “Thank you Ms. Quinn, that will be all.”
After the clown girl cartwheels out the door he finally turns away from the vials he’s working on and takes an extra second to admire my attire. His gaze sends shivers down my spine and butterflies twirling in my stomach. Get a grip, Prentiss!
“You’re dressed nicely. Did I interrupt something?”
Keep your cool. “Actually you saved me from an awkward dinner, Dr. Crane.”
He nods. “I see. With whom?”
“Bruce Wayne. Don’t give me that look, he was just being a good friend.”
He’s obviously triggered by the news. Whether it’s from jealousy or concern remains a mystery.
“You two are friends now?” he asks accusingly.
I shrug. “He seems to think so. I got a free meal.”
“Whatever.” He waves the subject away and gestures to his lab table. “There’s some test results I’d like you to see. Some of the subjects didn’t take well to the dose and showed certain signs postmortem I think you’ll find interesting.”
“Oh. Hold on a second.”
I reach into my clutch and pull out my reading glasses. As fun as sneaking around at night has been, it’s taken its toll on my sight. Now let’s see… Interesting. Increased stress on the chordae tendineae. This person literally died of a broken heart. What kind of fear is this linked to?
“What are you wearing?”
I look up from the notes and find Crane staring at me, captivated by something on my face.
“They’re called glasses, Dr. Crane. Like the kind you’re wearing. Duh.”
“No- I mean- Why?”
Is this a trick question? “It’s called getting old. My eyes aren’t what they used to be and I’d rather not wander around Gotham half-blind.” He’s still starting. “What?”
He blinks a few times and shifts his head to look back at his notes. “They make you look… good.”
I scrunch my nose. “Good-good or good-bad?”
“Cute.” He pauses. “And sexy.”
My pulse snaps. He thinks I- What? I mean, I’m flattered. Anyone could say that. But why does it feel different coming from him?
“Um thanks?” Time to go! “If you want my input I’d say that your test subjects have a history of troubled relationships. If that is all, I bid you goodnight.”
Go go go! I hustle back up the stairs and- And it’s raining now. Perfect. Maybe if I stick to the side then the canopies will- No it’s still sopping wet. In less than ten seconds I’m completely soaked. Oh well. At least it’s peaceful.
“You like the rain?” Dr. Crane asks from behind.
Of course he followed me. “The smell and the noise, yes. The constant state of being drenched… not so much.”
He hums approvingly. “I for one find the sight most pleasant.”
No doubt my dress is dripping wet. But the only thing revealing anything are my sleeves slipping off.
“Joke’s on you,” I grumble and tug my hair away. “My dress is not see-through.”
“But your feminine curves aren’t.”
Damn. He’s right. Thank God it’s too dark to see my scars. Not that I should care… But I do. In some bizarre twist of fate I’ve come to want to win his affection. But would anyone be willing to ignore these marks?
“You can look but no touching,” I tease and inch away into the pouring rain. “Another time, Dr. Crane.”
He wants to say more but we both keep quiet. I don’t know what’s holding him back but I’m grateful for it. I’m trying to fight my own battle of wits against the sudden tug at my heart. Maybe someday I’ll meet the same fate as those test subjects.

Hey man, I was doing some research for transmasc folks dealing with polycythemia and came across your post (this one tumblr.com/blackat-t7t/738252703648661505/cw-medical-talk-self-harm-mention-as-a-hyperbole?source=share) and I was wondering if you ever found a solution or experienced an improvement with this? I know at least one person has tried anti-allergy medicine with some effect, but polycythemia is one of my main concerns going on t (which is potentially on the horizon).
I really hope you are feeling better btw!
[link to original post, for reference]
Hey there. I'm not sure how helpful it will be, but I'll tell you my experience. I was able to find a solution in the past, but in the last year it stopped working.
I started T in 2016, and started having those symptoms about a year later. I also read that antihistamines helped, so I took benadryl as often as the label allowed. It helped but didn't eliminate the symptoms, and it wasn't really healthy to continue long-term. I also read that while polycythemia was most common in people taking injectable testosterone, it could also happen to cis men not on HRT, mainly when under massive amounts of stess. I ended up starting antidepressant/anti-anxiety medication and going off T for about a month. When I started my injections again, I had no more problems.
Until part way through 2023.
I was still taking the antidepressants, but under some major stress. At the time, I was putting 100% of my income towards 100% of rent for a 3 bedroom apartment, and dipping into my savings for everything else, with no support from the people I lived with. However, even after I moved into a much better situation, the symptoms continued.
I did have a blood test run looking for signs of autoimmune disorder, because I thought that if antihistamines helped it might be related. The initial test was out of range, but not any of the follow-up tests the lab automatically ran looking for specifics. I had ordered the test myself and didn't have a general doctor to suggest further tests or next moves, so that didn't really go anywhere.
For the last few month I've been taking my T shot only once every several weeks, instead of every week like I'm supposed to. The symptoms clear up after a few weeks, but come back when I do my next shot.
The last 2-ish months I've been changing my medication, cycling off the antidepressant and onto a mood stabalizer. I also started ADHD stimulants less than 2 weeks ago. I'm hoping all that will help lower my stress levels enough that I can go back to my regular dose of T, but I don't know yet.
Ultimately, the symptoms have such a negative effect on my quality of life, I've decided that if I can't find a way to permanently get rid of them, I'd rather go off testosterone entirely. In June I'll be exactly 8 years on T, and most of the changes I wanted (bottom growth, voice change, facial hair) won't be undone if I stop taking it (hell, it might even improve the bald spot!) My biggest concern is starting to menstruate again, but even that would be less distressing than the itching.
I'm sorry I don't have any more answers for you. For what it's worth, I've never heard anyone else talk about this, at least not with symptoms as bad as mine, so it must be a very rare side effect. I hope you're able to get whatever medical care you need to have the life you want.

I’m gonna rant for a second because I hate the shitty way visitors treat hospital staff, and I’ve spent all of my last 6 12 hour shifts dealing with it
Yes, I know you want an update with the nurse, but they aren’t available right now. It’s shift change, last night’s nurses are exhausted and want to go home, today’s nurses don’t even know who their patients are yet.
Yes, I know, it’s inconvenient. But every single fucking time I have to pull a nurse away from their patient so you can talk to them, that is CARE that the PATIENT ISNT GETTING.
Like, I’m really sorry, but when it comes down to your feelings versus a patient’s actual life, I don’t care about you. I’m sorry that you’re worried and anxious. I sympathize with it. But if you want your loved one to get the care they need, you need to handle yourself because you are a distraction to the nurse, you are hindering patient care, and the more often this happens, the worse your loved one will be, and I don’t get why that’s so hard to understand. If something significant happens, the nurse will call YOU. If they haven’t called, that means there’s no meaningful updates!
I’ve seen it time and again that people think by being the loudest voice in the room, they’re showing how much they care about the patient. These are usually the people that couldn’t give a shit about them when they were healthy. The son that hasn’t seen his mother more than once a month since putting her in a nursing home suddenly needs to be up everyone’s ass all the time. The daughter that hasn’t called her father in months screaming at the nurses over every little thing. It’s such performative bullshit and I hate it. We are not here to be your emotional punching bags so you can feel better about how you’ve neglected your relationships, as if abusing us makes up for your lack of contact and caring.
And the families that like to stand in the doorway staring at everyone who walks by, or come up to the nursing station demanding to speak to the nurse/a charge nurse, because they feel like that care isn’t happening patient care is done on a schedule. Everything is planned down to the hour. Yes, sometimes there are delays. But if a nurse should be providing something at a certain time and doesn’t, that usually means something more important is happening with another patient. Example: you want to tell me to remind the nurse that someone’s pain medication is due in exactly 11 minutes? believe me, that nurse knows down to the exact second when the last dose was given, she’ll be there on time, she does NOT need a reminder. (this is my BIGGEST pet peeve)
Even the people that are well-meaning about their calls, it’s still so self-centered to constantly demand a nurse’s attention every hour, every two hours. Again, I understand when you’re anxious, but the nurse isn’t here to reassure you. Work out your anxiety with a loved one that isn’t the current patient. Because all you’re doing is taking up the nurse’s valuable time, which is taking away from patient care, so that you can have your nerves soothed when there is ultimately no update to be had, other than “everything’s the same.”
If there is a significant change, good or bad, the nurse will call you.
If the patient codes/almost/actually dies, the nurse will call you.
If your loved one spontaneously wakes up from a coma, the nurse will call you.
If there is a major procedure, the nurse will (probably, it’s complicated) call you.
I am so done fielding phone calls from people that are passive aggressive, angry, or straight up yelling at me over the smallest thing. You are not helping anyone when you’re calling the nurse to demand whether the patient has eaten or not yet. Either they did, or they’re not able due to illness, or they’re not allowed to due to an upcoming procedure. Nothing you say or shout will change anything. Medications are added/changed/discontinued practically daily, don’t start freaking out just because the patient was on one blood pressure med one day and a different one/none the next.
If you don’t get a call for a day or two, the nurse isn’t refusing to communicate with you. They just have no significant updates to give, and their time is better spent on patient care than on the phone with you talking about how much the patient did or didn’t urinate.
This goes doubly for patients that are fully conscious/aware of their surroundings, and able to advocate for themselves. In those cases, any family members become entirely superfluous, because we do not need you. We don’t need you to understand what’s going on with the patient, because we don’t need you to consent to their procedures as a medical proxy. Your input doesn’t matter. And you better be damn grateful when the nurse is willing to give you any information at all, because at that point, it should really be up to the patient to disseminate the news of their condition.
Except because nurses are saints and recognize the mental and emotional strain that will put on the patient, they take care of that too. People need to start showing some gratitude instead of attitude, because contact with the nurse is a privilege, not a right, and people like me are incredibly happy to remove it when you can’t be respectful of everyone’s time.
Tl;dr not to be rude but if you’re not the patient, or the patient’s medical proxy, you don’t matter, so you better be nice

National Garlic Day
If you think you have enough garlic, add more. These flavorful bulbs improve just about every dish you could think to put them in, so get cooking!
Garlic is beloved by a variety of cultures, with many people saying that there can never be too much garlic in a dish or a meal. For those people who love garlic, then garlic day is the perfect day!
National Garlic Day celebrates the history of garlic, in addition to its glorious taste and its incredible health benefits. National Garlic Day helps experts and average people alike to explore the history of this bulb, learning how it came to be one of the most popular flavors in the world.
The appreciation of garlic is never greater than on National Garlic Day!
History of National Garlic Day
Garlic is known as one of the most essential flavoring bulbs that have been used throughout human history. Wild garlic has been traced back to Central Asia more than 5000 years ago. While today garlic is now considered a significant part of Mediterranean cuisine, the ancient Romans weren’t actually massive fans of it, although their soldiers did use it to inspire courage.
The earliest uses of garlic in cooking were by the people of the Medieval and Renaissance times. It was only used in small doses in sauces because it was considered to be a peasant-food since it is technically just a root dug up from the ground. It wasn’t until the late 19th century that garlic was recognized by culinary chefs.
Garlic is now included in many dishes from different cultures, ranging along the Mediterranean, Italian, and French cuisines, as well as a variety of others. In American cuisine, it is thought that food critics such as James Beard and Craig Claiborne popularized garlic during the 20th century.
Garlic is also known for its magical and medicinal properties! These stretch so far as to include the ability to ward off creatures such as vampires, werewolves, and demons, but this may also just imply that the person who has eaten garlic has a bit of bad breath!
In addition to magical powers, garlic is known to have herbal medicinal properties, including being able to reduce blood pressure and cholesterol.
Today, garlic festivals exist throughout local towns in various places as garlic is used in many dishes all over the world.
So, why not grab a clove or two, peel them, and use them for the next dinner during National Garlic Day!
How to Celebrate National Garlic Day
To celebrate National Garlic Day, head on over to a local grocery store and get some fresh cloves of garlic or minced garlic. Bulbs can be found with the produce, while pre-minced garlic is sometimes available in a jar. Try out some favorite savory recipes and add garlic as a nice touch for a classic solution or a new twist.
Some of the best ways to celebrate National Garlic Day Celebration might include:
Join the Festivities at a Garlic Festival
Head on over to a garlic festival near you and enjoy all the creations people have made with this robust plant. Festivals are held throughout the year in Canada, Turkey, Australia, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States, and other places.
Events often include different garlic-themed culinary treasures (garlic beer or garlic fudge, anyone?), garlic weaving, garlic poem-writing contests, garlic golf, garlic balancing games, and so much more.
Cook with More Garlic
Of course, the simplest way to celebrate garlic is to add more of it in the kitchen. It’s healthy, easily stored, and inexpensive. People on this day might choose to celebrate by using garlic in their recipes, which might include making garlic bread, a tomato sauce or garlic chicken. So buy a garlic press and get started adding it to recipes!
Visit the “Garlic Capital of the World”
Head on over to Gilroy, California, the garlic capital of the world, for those who truly want a taste of everything related to garlic. Hosting over three million visitors in its 30 year, garlicky history, this town’s festival offers games, crafts, competitions and various other activities all centered around the theme of garlic. Even in the off-season, there’s plenty to do, including shopping for garlic-related gifts at The Garlic Shoppe.
They even serve Garlic Ice Cream in this town!
Start Using Garlic for Your Health
Make some herbal remedies and see how garlic might bring improvement to health as well as life overall. For ease of use, garlic can be found at health food stores in pill form. Or, for even more zing, use freshly chopped or crushed garlic in salad dressings, marinades or even mixed with honey and hot water to create a potent tea. Garlic can also be used to create a homemade cough syrup.
Host a Garlic Party
Share this holiday with friends and family by hosting a garlic-themed party, handing out tasty treats and enjoying its savory flavor. Have guests bring their favorite dish that includes garlic. For entertainment, try some of the ideas inspired by activities at the garlic festivals.
And for a costume-themed party, ask guests to dress up as their favorite garlic-related character (fictional or otherwise), such as these:
Dracula, the vampire in Bram Stoker’s fictional tales, who is warded off when a character wears a wreath of garlic to keep her safe
Werewolf, another character which folklore reveals to be kept away by garlic
Garlic Junior, anime fans know this is a fictional demon that appears in Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone
Greek Olympic Athletes, in ancient times, these athletes were expected to eat a lot of garlic in order to improve their performance
Roman Soldiers, ancient guards and soldiers were rumored to have used garlic to give them courage and inspiration

I choo, choo, choose me
The change started over a month ago, when I was at rock bottom. We had received news that there had been another delay on the house sale, money was beyond tight and everything felt incredibly bleak. I was starting to think the sale may never happen and the thought of the impact of that was terrifying. I was trying to keep my head above water but feeling like I had weights tied to either ankle. I talked a good talk but I was taking everything hour by hour, staying in bed, not really eating or taking care of myself and I was having some very dark thoughts. Mostly, that I did not deserve anything good and that I had put myself in this position, through a series of adult choices that I owned completely - but maybe they were not right. My health was bad, my blood pressure sky high, mental health terrible - again to a certain extent that was my fault. So why, did I choose that moment to come off my anti-depressants?
Now, I am going to put a statement in place before I talk about this, medications are great - they have saved me multiple times in the past. It was a decision, I made with the support of my counsellor and doctor, so it was informed. I did not tell anyone else - my family or my friends, I did not want judgement. I was to reduce gradually down and check in often. Which I did. My reasoning was, I was in the worst place of my life, and I kind of wanted to feel that in real life, rather than the fog that I felt I was permanently in. The meds felt like a security blanket and I needed to let go. I just wanted it to be real - if it hurt it hurt, if it was terrible I would go back on them - but I needed to just do it - I trusted my instincts. I had been on the meds now for over 3 years on maximum dose so this was a big experiment. Now, I am not going to lie, there were some real wobbles and bleak bits (which I wont talk about as they are triggering) but on the whole, I started feeling a clarity again and that was exciting. My thoughts were clear and I could process life in a grown up adult pragmatic way, instead of crying and hiding in bed. I felt like I was getting strength in the pain and I was starting to question why I kept getting into this place with all the pillars in my life. Over and over again - the same patterns and the fall out and the answer was me. I kept wanting to be a victim, to feel like I needed to use all of my experiences and past to self harm and basically stop living in the real world. I needed to take ownership and that felt exciting, but also frustrating. I was very angry at myself for wasting time.
The house sale got back on track and I started to make plans. I was not going to go backwards, this was my one opportunity to make it all about me and my decisions. I would have the luxury of a small amount of money that I would put aside - an Olivia wellness fund - which could only be spent on stuff that would bring me joy, health, , counselling, courses etc and once it was gone it was gone.
I am a fully qualified holistic therapist and am very much into spirituality, energy and intuition, so I would go back to that place which had helped me so much in the past. I wouldn't care if people thought it was 'hippie shit' - whatever, everything I do is with positive intentions, I don't sit around making voodoo dolls and making spells to ruin people - that is not my thing. But healthy curiosity of tarot, crystals, reiki, shamanism, holistic health and meditation is where I am very happy and it was speaking to me so I leaned into it.
The house sale happened. I paid off my debts, which there were many - friends and family had been very kind. The phone stopped ringing with people demanding money. I put aside money for the future. I put aside money for my wellness fund and I felt overwhelming relief, massive gratitude and huge relief . I was self sufficient and doing stuff for myself for the first time in my life, EVER.
During the year, I had been trying to work, but again I saw the same patterns emerging: take a job, go full out, work 18 hour days, burn out. I know I am fantastic at my job, I am. I love working, but I am also a workaholic and take too much on, never ask for help and say yes to everything. But then on the flipside, I was hugely flaky going down with illness all the time, which I knew was more about my body not coping with stress and shutting down. I knew that it is not for me anymore. The industry, I worked in - events, needs to evolve - it takes no prisoners, people burn out fast, there are no safety measures in place. It is a young persons game and it no longer bought me the joy that it had in the past, but was it all I could do?!
The company I was freelancing for wanted to make me permanent - it was lovely, they really wanted me but my head constantly was shouting 'don't do it. Why are you saying yes! SAY NO!' Whilst physically, I was saying yes and signing all the relevant paperwork for a contract on a job I knew would make me ill. The night before my onboarding, I went very dark - it was possibly the closest I have ever been to something more serious, I cried, I paced, I didn’t sleep and I felt like an idiot for putting myself in that position. I woke up the next day and drove to the job, I did my fantastic acting skills (thanks stage school) being so enthusiastic and saying all the right things. They were all lovely, so welcoming, so everything but I walked out of there and got in the car and debated driving it into the sea. But I didn't, I drove and listened to music which is always how I get my thinking done and I decided no more - what the fuck was I crying about, I don't owe anyone anything - I can change the narrative. I can fucking change the narrative.
Then I started to ask myself curious questions, why do I do this - my answer: 'I don't have children, so if I don't have a high flying career am I failure?' what the actual fuck - I know that is what I had always thought. I had failed at life, no children so I must focus on a career. That is what everyone is expecting - but who the hell is everyone and why are they even being considered, I don't think those people are real, they are just me and ghost voices from the past. I am very good at deciding what everyone else thinks about me, without even asking them. So erm, hold up - surely life is about finding satisfaction, to be happy, to wake up want to do something better, to be a better person, to bring something better to the world and to not hide in bed hoping that the apocalypse would happen and it would end quickly. It was not about ticking The Game of Life boxes and getting to the end of the game. So I decided at that moment, this is it. The job goes. I am going to spend December doing me, finding joy, getting up in the morning and being excited, getting healthy, going on my bike, saying yes to fun, being spontaneous, travelling, working on a plan for the new year to start doing something career wise that I can be passionate about. So I contacted the job and it is no more, I am wide open for new experiences - but no going back.
No more looking over my shoulder. Thus my statement formed:
Today I choose to work for myself. Today I chose to say goodbye to what does not serve me anymore. Today I chose to stop being a victim of my past. To stop sabotaging my own progress, falling into negative patters and to step forward into the light Today I choose me, as me is pretty ok.
So I am going to make me better, so that I can be better for my family, friends and everyone around me. I am so lucky everyone has stuck by me this year and the gratitude I have is abundant to all of those people, there are so many from messages to check ins to little gifts- to just knowing they were there if anything bad happened. I am incredibly lucky especially, as my communication skills back have been horrendous - another bit of self sabotage, if I don't reply they will hate me and I will be alone. Seriously, I needed to get a grip.
This has been a long post, and probably very boring but as with all these things I want to note it down. It feels better. I will write more about what exciting things I will be doing in due course. I know I will wobble and I know there will be times that I will be weak. But for now...I am grinning because actually this is my chance to make it count.
Today I am grateful for: My Family & Friends My incredible counsellor The NHS The Sea Jacket potatoes beans and cheese

Hummus has become a beloved staple in kitchens across the globe, but its origins trace back thousands of years to the Middle East. This nutrient-packed dip is not only delicious but also versatile and easy to incorporate into various meals. Whether you’re a health-conscious eater or simply looking for a flavorful addition to your diet, hummus offers a wealth of benefits that make it worthy of a regular place in your meal plan. Here’s why hummus should be a staple in your diet.
1. A Rich Source of Plant-Based Protein
Hummus is primarily made from chickpeas, also known as garbanzo beans, which are an excellent source of plant-based protein. Each serving of hummus delivers around 3-5 grams of protein, making it a valuable addition for those who follow vegetarian or vegan diets. Protein is crucial for building and repairing tissues, supporting muscle health, and maintaining healthy skin, hair, and nails.
2. High in Fiber for Digestive Health
Chickpeas, the star ingredient of hummus, are packed with dietary fiber. Fiber is essential for maintaining a healthy digestive system, as it helps move food smoothly through the digestive tract and prevents constipation. A diet rich in fiber has been linked to a reduced risk of digestive disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and colorectal cancer.
3. Loaded with Essential Vitamins and Minerals
Hummus is a nutritional powerhouse, offering a broad spectrum of essential vitamins and minerals. Chickpeas provide a good dose of iron, which is important for producing red blood cells and preventing anemia. The tahini (sesame paste) in hummus is rich in magnesium, a mineral crucial for bone health, regulating muscle and nerve function, and supporting cardiovascular health.
4. Supports Heart Health
The heart-healthy benefits of hummus cannot be overstated. Olive oil, one of the main ingredients in traditional hummus recipes, is rich in monounsaturated fats. These healthy fats help lower LDL (bad) cholesterol while raising HDL (good) cholesterol, which can reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke.
5. Helps with Weight Management
If you’re looking for a nutrient-dense food that can help with weight management, hummus is a perfect choice. Thanks to its high protein and fiber content, hummus helps keep you full for longer periods, reducing the likelihood of snacking between meals. Protein and fiber both promote satiety, which can prevent overeating and help you maintain a healthy weight.
6. A Versatile Addition to Your Meals
One of the most appealing aspects of hummus is its versatility. While it’s often enjoyed as a dip for fresh vegetables or pita bread, hummus can be used in a variety of creative ways. Spread it on sandwiches or wraps as a healthier alternative to mayonnaise or butter, mix it into salads for added flavor and texture, or even use it as a base for pizza or flatbread.
Hummus also comes in many flavor varieties, from classic garlic and lemon to spicy red pepper or roasted beet. With so many options, it’s easy to keep your meals exciting and flavorful without getting bored.
7. Promotes Stable Blood Sugar Levels
Hummus is a low-glycemic food, meaning it has minimal impact on your blood sugar levels. This is especially beneficial for people with diabetes or anyone looking to maintain stable energy throughout the day. Foods with a low glycemic index release glucose into the bloodstream at a slower, more controlled rate, which prevents energy crashes and hunger pangs.
The combination of fiber, protein, and healthy fats in hummus helps keep your blood sugar levels steady, making it an excellent choice for a balanced snack or meal component.
8. Rich in Antioxidants
Hummus is rich in antioxidants, thanks to ingredients like tahini, garlic, and olive oil. Antioxidants are compounds that help protect your body from oxidative stress and inflammation, both of which are linked to chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and Alzheimer’s.
Garlic, in particular, contains compounds such as allicin, which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties. Olive oil is high in polyphenols, which also provide anti-inflammatory benefits. By eating hummus regularly, you can support your body’s natural defense systems.
9. Free of Gluten and Dairy
For individuals with food sensitivities or allergies, hummus is a safe and delicious option. It is naturally gluten-free and dairy-free, making it suitable for people with celiac disease, gluten intolerance, lactose intolerance, or dairy allergies.
10. Easy to Make at Home
While store-bought hummus is convenient, making your own hummus at home is simple, affordable, and allows you to control the ingredients. All you need is a few basic ingredients: chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and salt. From there, you can customize the flavor to your liking by adding herbs, spices, or roasted vegetables.
Homemade hummus is not only fresh and free from preservatives, but it also allows you to experiment with different flavor combinations and offers a wealth of health benefits. Whether you like it smooth or chunky, spicy or mild, the possibilities are endless.
Hummus health benefits are endless.

Hypnos chaos and pain
Tumblr media
And we're not entirely sure that you want to put something in your body that is going to stimulate your brain when the goal is to relax into a healthy slumber. Fun stories about passing tolls and hat tricks aside, we feel like the addition of the phenibut might be a bit unnecessary furthermore, most research shows that dopamine activity in the brain has a stimulating - rather than relaxing - effect. But our research didn't necessarily justify the addition of other certain ingredients. That contain several high quality natural sleep ingredients, such as melatonin, hops, passion flower, GABA, and valerian root, to name a few. How Hypnos Helps You Get Better SleepĪs far as we can tell, there is some promise behind Chaos and Pain's claims about the effectiveness of their sleep product. Furthermore, anyone who suffers from night terrors or who has frequent nightmares in general may be wary of taking a sleep supplement which could cause their bad dreams to become more prevalent and intense. While some may argue that deeper, more vivid dreams is a sign of higher quality sleep, the scientific evidence to support this theory is not as robust as you might think. It also advertises itself as a lucid dream aid. The marketing behind Hypnos puts a strong emphasis on getting better sleep for the purpose of physical recovery after hard workouts. For the most part, they seem to be a company whose main focus caters to general health and wellness, especially for people who are fitness-oriented. Hypnos BenefitsĬhaos and Pain has a fairly diverse portfolio when it comes to their supplements. But they don't necessarily dive deep into explaining how, or why it's such an essential part of their formula. Chaos and Pain postulates that this precursor to dopamine, the neurotransmitter which is responsible for pleasurable feelings of brain, plays a vital role in sleep. Lastly - and if it's surprisingly - Hypnos also contains l-dopa. There's also a total of 5 mg of melatonin, the sleep hormone that some people's bodies don't produce enough of at the right time to get them sleepy before bed. These are two very popular natural ingredients that help promote relaxation before bed. Mankind has known for thousands of years that not only does valerian root help you relax before bed, but it can also make your dreams more vivid and easier to remember.Īs you may expect from an herbal sleep aid, Hypnos also contains hops extract and passion flower. The use of valerian root as a sleep aid and as a dream enhancer dates all the way back to Hypocrites himself. Some scientific studies show that magnesium can also help improve mental health overtime - which could either be a direct benefit, or a side effect of improving your rest and therefor brain health. Next, there's Magnesium, which is used to help GABA receptors function more efficiently, and help your body eliminate excess levels of cortisol (the stress hormone) at night. But Chaos and Pain has als discovered a mysterious connection between GABA and muscle regulation, which means you might be able to tone your body while you sleep.somehow (so they say, anyway). Since GABA helps you feel relaxed and less anxious, it's a pretty good idea to take some before bedtime. But unlike other GABA analogues, phenibut is capable of crossing the blood brain barrier easily "without paying any tolls!", which should help make it more effective.īut Chaos and Pain would be remiss if they didn't add in actual GABA to their sleep formula. GABA, in case you weren't aware, is a neurotransmitter that helps you feel relaxed and calm, which is a big help to anyone who struggles to sleep at night. Phenibut, which comes in at about 500 mg per dose, is supposedly an analog of GABA. Have you ever wanted a supplement company to speak to you like a surfer Dude from the 1990s? Then Chaos and Pain, the Savage company that produces radical supplements like Hypnos, is totally for you, bro! In all seriousness, though, whether they're speaking ironically or marketing to a specific target audience, most people may get a chuckle out of the way they present their list of ingredients.
