Moments I should have realised I'm Ace
Back before I realised I was asexual I was on tindr and a couple of dating sites (because anxiety and I default to being a social hermit). And I ended up chatting to a woman I'd matched with on tindr who sent me a message saying in essence "Here's my address of you want to come round and shag me." And I was like WTF?!
When I expressed my surprise to some friends online their response was: you do know people use tindr to arrange casual sex right? Why would you be surprised by an offer of casual sex?

Potential warning for religious trauma or repression? Not sure but I’m still tagging it
Honestly, it took me a while to find out and accept that I’m aegosexual. For a long time, I’ve portrayed myself as someone sex-repulsed even though that couldn’t be further from the truth. I fantasize, I masturbate, I look up sexual stuff once in a while, but I’d always try to repress it or pretend I don’t do those kind of things. It didn’t help that because I didn’t experience sexual attraction, I thought my asexuality clashed with my sexual habits.
Religion made it worse. This isn’t exclusive to aegosexuals, but yeah, I fell victim to religious people (and even my own mother) drilling into me that feeling sexual is wrong, and “if you act on those sexual urges, you will go to hell and you’re a dirty sinner!! God is always watching!!” which caused further repression. Yippee.
It’s only finding out the label aegosexual and going through other aegosexuals’ posts did I finally admit to myself that yes, I have sexual fantasies. Do I want to enact those in real life? Hell no!! But,, y’know 👀
And going through this blog, reading all the posts, all I could think was “God, that’s me! I relate to this!!” I’m really grateful for blogs like this and also for the aegosexual community as a whole. I’m still very new here, and I’m still researching, but I’m more than happy to learn and to find more people like me.
So thank you for that :]
Thank you for sharing! I’m going to tag @aegosexual-moments and use their tag of aego experiences so others can see this

LOOL, your tags on my kissing posts, LITERALLY me with my first kiss in high school. I was so confused as to why it felt like nothing, and I kept asking my friends, "How do you know you will like kissing a guy?" and they kept saying, "You just have to find someone you think is cute!" and I was SO confused because I DID think he was handsome, so what was I MISSING? Spoiler alert, it also took me 4+ years of deep impostor syndrome before I came out as ace.
LMAO solidarity :"D
I still don't know how kissing actually works. What does it mean to kiss someone back? How do you actually initiate a kiss? Aren't there different types of kisses? How do people learn this stuff? and the more I try and figure out it out the more confused I get 😅

The response to "ace people are just virgins who can't get laid!" Shouldn't be "ace people can still have sex!" but instead " being a virgin isn't a bad thing."
The response to "aro people are just heartless freaks!" Shouldn't be "aro people can still feel love!" And instead be "not feeling love or other emotions doesn't make you a bad person."
Instead of pushing the idea that aspec people can be "normal like allos" we should instead be trying to normalize aspec experiences. Yes aspec people can be normal because aspec identities are normal. Some aros fall in love. some aces have sex. but they should not be the only valid aspec experiences. We should not use these experiences to make the aspec identity more palatable to amatonormativity and allos.

Growing up asexual is actually so funny because all of a sudden people all around are like ‘oh my god what if I don’t know how to kiss??? I have to practice!’ And start doing unhinged things and the whole time you’re like

Aesthetic attraction is wild!!
You could just stare at that person for hours and admire their beauty, their facial structures, the way their hair looks and you could get lost gazing into those beautiful eyes.
It’s like, “Damn!!! You’re so gorgeous there should be a picture of you in an art museum”.
Tell me I’m not the only one who feels this way 🥹
