T&Co Notebook notes
Hand magic is seen as very old by some and "poor people magic" by others. Since the invention of magic tools, it's fallen out of practice due to the fact that you have to start significantly younger to get any good at it. Also, most modern spells aren't designed for use without tools, so you'd need to adapt the spells somehow to cast them by hand. As a result, the majority of people who still use it are farmers and other low class workers who have been using it for centuries to assist with manual labor. There are a few very old and powerful wizards who can cast hand magic as well, but there aren't many around anymore and their skills are often surpassed by younger people using tool assistance.
Where does magic come from?
-Living beings can have magic within them
-Some have more or less, but it can be increased through use like a muscle, or increased through ingestion of foods that have high levels of magic already (ie magic plants)
-Generally tabboo to eat "magic animals"... how much magic should be within an animal to count as a "magic animal"? decide later
-Magic also exists sort of generally radiating from magic plants/animals/rocks -> This is where most external magic comes from
Deadzones:
-Areas where the world's magical energy is weak or non-existent. Effectively renders magic tools useless as they rely on external magic. No rocks or plants here have magic within them though there may be some magic animals
-Internal magic (hand magic) still works the same as it normally would, but any magic that combines the two would be ineffective/less effective depending on the spell
-Deadzones don't look visibly different, they feel slightly off but this can be gotten used to. People born/raised/living there often have less internal magic as well (partially or mostly due to the lack of magic energy from food sources)
-Deadzone areas often have a sharp cutoff
-They usually exist as a result of something in the area absorbing it all. Volatile things. The artifact is made with shards from a giant crystal that created a deadzone.
Murenniela knows at least 1 major spell from each school. To get the silver leaf she had to improve each of the heads, she did this by performing the following major spells with hand magic:
-Transformations: Rocks to bread (also knows rocks to knives which she likes better)
-Higher Knowledge: Divinity of day's luck
-Illusion: Flat moving images
-Healing: Revive dead plants
-Summoning: Summon water (massive amount)
-Nature: Wind based levitation
-Enchantment: Flying objects
Generally Murenniela knows more nature & summoning spells than others. She was the head of nature's favorite student.
Opinions chart:
Murenniela <-> Vinduras: Friends
Murenniiela <-> Jason: Friends
Vinduras <-> Kinaxien: Coworkers
Jason <-> Kinaxien: child/guardian relationship
Murenniela -> Kinaxien: Stubborn old man
Kinaxien -> Murenniela: Powerful loose cannon, but also good for Jason as she pushes him out of his shell
Vinduras -> Jason: Reckless kid
Jason -> Vinduras: My friend's friend! We should do quests together!
Shadia
-Satyr warrior Jason often competes against. He'll also want to go watch tournaments she's competing in even if he's not in them.
-Fights with a spear most often but is also good with a ball & chain + shield combo.
-Relates to Jason on being one of the only of their kind around and likes to hangout with him if he's at a tournament she's competing in. Often teases him for his fake 'strong but silent type' persona he portrays knowing it's a result of his awkwardness (different from what Murenniela does. She doesn't really see him interact with fans so she doesn't know he does this, she just teases him for general shyness)
-Most Satyrs don't leave their country/hometowns but she's not sure where that is. She was found as a child and raised by a warrior and so has always been on the move.
-After meeting Murenniela through Jason the two really hit it off, especially since Murenniela talks a lot more than Jason does.

steddie fake dating au that starts because robin’s mom keeps pushing for her and steve to get together and robin gets so fed up that she yells, “it’s not gonna happen because some people are gay, mom!”
and upon seeing the utter horror and fear on her face, steve swoops in and says he’s the one who’s gay. cue mr. and mrs. buckley, local hippies, attempting to show how supportive they are, and all the while steve gets eddie to agree to fake date to get the buckleys to prove they’re safe, so that robin will feel comfortable enough to come out to her parents.

love love love steddie + supportive wanye
thinking about wayne and eddie going on an annual fishing trip (like thee Munson Men Annual Fishing Trip™️) just like a little weekend away. and the first one is coming up after eddie and steve starts dating. over breakfast eddie jokingly complains about having to go and tries to get out of it. but wayne is used to his dramatics so he just gives hmms when appropriate because eddie’s whole spiel never got him out of it before and he tells eddie that.
steve watches the whole exchange with amusement when wayne asks if he’s looking forward to it. and he’s like ??? because he assumed it was just a wayne and eddie thing. and wayne is like i just told eddie all munsons must go can’t get out of it kid.
steve gets flustered and is internally is like oh??? all munsons,,,
or like after the trip a neighbor asks wayne if they caught anything and he pulls out his wallet to show a picture they took on the trip. wayne passes it with ‘here’s a picture of my boys’ and to steve’s surprise it’s a picture of both him and eddie with their biggest catch.
and just idk wayne casually accepting steve into their family and throwing steve off guard with it.

DP x DC: Ghost x Family
So, back on my cute romcom BS
So the premise. Dani, as Danny's speed grown clone, wasn't the most physically stable. Turns out, it's really hard to speed grow a clone, and even harder when ectoplasm is involved. There's not enough time for the structures to properly stabilize and that leaves the cellular structure pretty weak and prone to breaking down into goo. The ecto dejecto was just a temporary solution and other measures were needed
aka Dani had to essentially grow a body from scratch the old fashion way, so she's now physically her actual age minus a couple months
So Danny, at the age of 20, is the father of a 4 year old Dani and is trying to keep a low profile in Gotham. His and his daughter's existence is still illegal, and being the single father of a 4 year old ghost girl isn't exactly easy. Now Danny has to deal with the very real threat of CPS being called on him by a neighbor, and trying to get Dani into school without either of them having papers for their assumed identity of Danny and Dani Nightingale and money to by fake documents. He'd ask Tucker, but that requires braking radio silence and potentially putting a target on all three of their backs.
Danny, desperate, asks his neighbor Jason to pose as his significant other for a meeting. Jason agrees, but things escalated and frankly he's now emotionally invested and committing to the bit
So now he and Danny have legally been married for about 4 months according to the papers Babs made them. The fake ID, birth certificates, SSNs, and high school diploma for the Nightingales were simple enough for her to do, but man Jason is going to owe her a BIG favor for this.
They move in together, Dani goes to a good private school, Jason is effectively Danny's sugar daddy paying for a sizable chunk of all this, and they are committing to the loving married couple bit, which is hard to do when the new in-laws are detectives
The best part?
Danny has not figured out Jason is the Red Hood, and Jason doesn't know about the ghost stuff. The only one that does? Dani, and she is physically and mentally 4 and watching Jason and Danny fall in love
oh the shenanigans
OR
I've been watching SPY x FAMILY and just need the fake relationship/family turns into a real relationship/found family dynamic. Jason is basically Loid, Danny is pretty much Yor, Dani fills the role of Anya, and uncle Dick is Yuri, except he's doting on Dani.
Dick is a smart man, but I love the headcanon that Jason is his emotional blindspot. Jason? MY Littlewing? He couldn't possibly.

Of all the Married™ things that Loid does, this is the most Married™ of all. The way he just meets Yor's intensity with no real idea why. It's just like, "My wife is very happy and needs me to get on her level" and he's going to do it. Even if he's still really confused about the whole situation.
