More Baxter thoughts~
Imagine post Step 4, MC telling Baxter that he was their first kiss. They sort of laugh and explain that for some people 18 would be considered a late bloomer, but that was the right time for them. They joke that Baxter was just too irresistible.
MC is trying to keep the mood light, just joking about it, but that doesn't really go to plan.
Because Baxter is shocked for three seconds, pleased and flustered for one second, and then deeply guilty from then on.
He feels guilty for not knowing, for taking MC's first kiss even if they kissed him first, and he feels even worse for ghosting them now, which he didn't think was possible.
He tries to just smile and say he's honoured, but he cannot sleep that night because he feels so guilty. He wants to punch 19 year old him in the face (don't we all).
I think MC'd have to firmly pull him from the guilt and kiss him until he truly understands that they'd forgiven him for the shenanigans he pulled 5 years ago, and that they definitely don't regret him being the first person they kissed.
Actually that would be a good strategy to pull his head out of the guilt cloud: MC should ask him if he regrets being the first person they kissed and then watch this man backtrack at the speed of light and vehemently deny it lol.
...
But also, imagine MC face timing Baxter for the first time after they had to go home.
They'd both do it late at night, I think, maybe they'd both be in bed, and when the call connects, they both just stare at each other for several moments.
Until MC pushes out an 'I miss you' and Baxter melts and says it back.
MC was sort of expecting to be teased about missing him when it's only been a day since they left, but Baxter isn't about to deny that he's already wishing they were with him again.
Just imagine them softly talking about their days to each other, tucked up in their respective beds, wishing the other one was close enough to touch and hold.
Imagine them having to end every face time with a reminder about when they were going to see each other next, just to soften the bitter blow of the end of the call.
Imagine MC taking a screenshot when Baxter looks cute, his hair mussed from his pillow.
Imagine Baxter taking a screenshot when MC starts nodding off, head propped up by one dangerously swaying hand.
Imagine neither of them wanting to bring up staying on the call as they sleep, but both thinking about it every time.
Just... soft Baxter and MC, because they'd be the cutest sappiest couples, especially when they're alone.
...
This third one and final one is not as cute, but imagine an artist MC who is just enamoured by the mole on the upper back of Baxter's thigh.
They really want to not be creepy, but also... they really want to sketch it.
And so they sketch it, but it doesn't capture the beauty properly, so they add colour and edit and keep going until they have a near photo realistic image of the back of Baxter's thigh XD
Baxter finds the drawing one day and basically blue screens for a good 40 seconds before he attempts to compliment their art work and tease them about the subject material at the same time, the words coming out as a jumbled, flustered mess.
That is all XD Thank you for letting me scream my Baxter ideas into the void haha.

so on doctor who confidential they talked about how rose was meant to really appeal to young girls, partially because doctor who traditionally had been considered a bit of a boys club in the past (whether or not that was true, I don't know. certainly depictions of classic!DW fandom has been mostly men, but then, that tended to be true of star trek as well and we all know that women were running the fandom show there. however I digress) --
the point of this show from the get go was to appeal more to women and girls, deliberately, because rtd likes writing for women (chris eccleston also said that rtd was better at writing the companion and that was right and good)
so there was the fact that she was 19 (and how that made her really Grown Up and Cool to teens and kids who were tuning into the first ever doctor who for 17 years, which, as the age-group who saw rose as a kid, correct), the fact that she was getting into arguments with her mum and being rebellious and trying to figure her identity out, the fact that she was 2000s era fashion-forward but still dressed within a budget and in a way that seemed realistic -- and speaking of realistic, That. she was meant to really make girls feel like they could accomplish things, and in some ways grow up with her. I think that worked so well for those of us who started with her era at a Certain age (whether or not we still ID as girls of course....) and she really was the perfect first companion. her story was based in that joy of leaving it all behind and fear of the responsibilities of adulthood and growing up and the real pain of that. in many ways a bit of a wendy darling, but more relatable and from the estate. she was growing up and it was tough
it felt like rose really was the beating heart of the show, giving it life those first couple of seasons as it was allowed to grow from a new exploration of what its identity was going to be and into what came next. and of course then she haunts the narrative for ages afterwards, which is always fun (I mean heck, we've got a "rose" character coming up in 2023! nearly 20 years after she was there)
billie piper was such an iconic and important part of what made doctor who work. the companion now had this depth of feeling about her and you knew this person, you knew why she wanted to run away, because you did too. just cannot overstate how much I adored rose

i really wonder if any of you stop to give at least a little bit of a shit
this is one example, by the way. BIG accounts are like this too
they pretend to be agree and be like "THIS!!!" but in the side lines they're doing the same. don't be like these people. if you like something, then puff out your chest and don't be a pussy about it. tell everyone how you're into watching kids shooting other kids.
there's no such thing as not condoning this type of thing. there's no such thing as being a "researcher" when you're clearly just glorifying them and making them "quirky uwu". just say it. say that you're a horrible person. it's easier for everyone.
i always check the little "similar accounts" tab, it's very helpful for finding shitty people.
im putting this in the postal tag because im still getting notifications about tcccunts liking my stuff. since this is a side account i noticed that no matter how many people i block they still have access to my posts, and i don't have access to theirs. tumblr, fix your site.
since im incredibly pissed about this, and i can't sleep, im going to rant.
i think we should change the meaning of "community". are you really part of a community if you got caught in a school shooting, they would be worshiping your shooter? are you really part of a community if you got killed and recorded, people would just be looking at your dead body and laughing instead of being sad? are you really part of a community if you're doing something illegal?
this is why i believe there's no such thing as a true crime community. or a gore community. or anything of the sort.
for me, you're all just as bad as maps, proshippers, terfs, and all that bad bunch.
i think its just common sense that these people should be ridiculed and isolated from any fandom, but here in this fandom? no, it's okay, we'll dickride you because you're different, it's a different thing y'know? stop being so sensitive. respect them.
i swear make it make sense. just, make it make a lick of sense.
it just makes me so angry because the games are satire, they're supposed to be funny and be like "ohh haha ginger man pisses on bodies lmaoo", and nothing is real. even if postal was a game about a teenager that goes on a school shooting and it's extremely realistic and shit, it's still not real. then why would you associate something like that to such horrible things? hell, i HATE shooting games and even i thought postal was kinda fun, i went pacifist for all my playthrough but i made another game file and went exploding the town and killing everyone. you know why i can do that? because its not real. why can't you just leave it at that? don't mix two things that have nothing to do with each other. don't glorify people that hurt real people. that should just be common sense.
oh but may, you drew yourself with postal dude once! you cry, but guess what. IM NOT A SCHOOL SHOOTER AM I NOW
also, i wanted to rant about something that really does piss me off as well. why do artists get a pass when it comes to this shit? or just, anything in general. why is when they post horrible shit, it's alright, but when its someone that doesn't make art, or is a beginner, it's a tomato throwing party? do it to both of them. them being able to draw shouldn't give them a shield to do horrible shit. it shouldn't matter how many followers or how notes they have, hold them accountable for crying out loud. "but they make art i like" and? you're just excusing their behavior, you're excusing what their doing because you "like their art". that's just.. it's just insane to me.
i have never seen a fandom like this. i have been in the genshin fandom, i have been in the south park fandom, i have been in the cookie run fandom, i have been in the onceler fandom, and none of them, absolutely none of them were as bad as this one. i didn't even know that was physically possible.
all of you are like, 19, 23, 24 whatever, you should know better than to excuse this behavior. like i said, puff out your chest and tell everyone how you really are. just say it. don't pretend you're innocent.
you know what's funnier? theres currently the genocide going on in Palestine. and these fuckers be posting about it, #savepalestine! #helppalestine! they don't give two SHITS about it, and you still go and like "oh but they post about Palaestine" they're out there watching people dying and enjoying it, you think they CARE about a GENOCIDE?? it's what they love! seriously, this is just so uguugghhg
my brain can't comprehend someone like this. it just can't.

what are your thoughts on inklings/octolings having bones? (source: https://twitter.com/V0zkoZo/status/1774212478500540539?t=vTVm4GhkaKy3_VYzaa7zEA&s=19)
They've had "bones" since the first game (very obviously with Captain Cuttlefish), also have knees and elbow joints, and in the Splatoon 3 inkling models even the collarbones are quite prominent if i remember that right. So like them having bones in the models is nothing new, I think it's mainly done for the simplicity of having a human-shaped character not be extremely uncanny if it didn't actually follow the general shape and likeness of a human. Hell, in the "realistic" art style they use in some places in the game, Inklings are literally drawn to look just like humans except with tentacle hair, so the intent seems to be that they register as "human" moreso than "weird humanoid squid" to the player.
It's been stated countless times in the game itself that Inklings do NOT have bones, and while that doesn't technically mean they couldn't have some other type of support structure that's just also identical to a human skeleton because why not, I don't like the cartilage skeleton approach either because them having a solid support structure as a whole feels like it STILL goes against the whole point of the inkfish being boneless and especially against them being very flexible and malleable and literally changing shape completely. I think, personally, the reason they Have Bones in the general character design is just because that's WAY EASIER to animate, draw and deal with and still have widespread appeal while making the Inklings easily register as humanoid when they have basically the exact same anatomy. which they shouldn't. So basically TL;DR they don't have bones, i've accepted that they will forever keep being depicted with bones despite them not having bones, and I don't care lol

The SV characters are written as such realistic teenagers that headcanoning their ages even a few years apart makes for such hilarious dynamics. I always defaulted to putting all of them at around 15-16 but playing around with ages and how it might impact their dyanmics is so fun AND funny
The idea of a really traumatized 19 year old Arven hanging out with a bunch of 15 year old girls is actually a genuinely hysterical concept to me. All these high school sophomores are just hyping the fuck out of this loser boy they picked up off the side of the road. He's part of the girlies now. He's their special little guy. He's the only one of them who can legally drive or buy lottery tickets so he's practically a god to them and they treat him exactly like they would any other 15 year old girl
Nemona being older already kinda slots her into a mentor-esque position and I think it's really fun to explore how her dynamic with Geeta intersects with her dynamic with the protagonist, and how the person that Nemona tries to guide ends up surpassing her and becoming a worthy rival. Also her and Arven being the older teens looking at the protagonist meeting the "formidable boss of team star" who turns out to just be this really rude 14 year old is really really good
Having the protagonist themselves be the youngest of the group, especially if it's by a few years, is another one of my favorite concepts, because all these older teens being so desperate for help and attention that they see a random freshman and are like YOU is really good. Also with the eventual realization of Oh My God the person helping me out with all this heavy stuff is so young what am I doing.
On the flip side, adult protagonists are not taken advantage of as a possibility in this game. The academy has adult students and also Clive exists so it isn't out of the realm of canonicity. It's extremely possible that Arven is like "hey little buddy can you help me find Herba Mystica" to a 45 year old office worker who is going back to school during his sabbatical. A fully grown man can just be adopted into this gaggle of emotionally unstable teenagers. They don't discriminate
Just generally speaking, these tiny tweaks can put some incredibly fun twists on character dynamics and I think it's really cool when people play around with the concept more

Kinda sick of the racism from nonblacks (i say nonblacks because it ain't just the whites tho it's mainly them!) in the spiderverse fandom because why does black ppl centering themselves in fiction (you know cuz we never can have ANYTHING) bother them so much??
"Hobie would choose a white girl over you" "why does miles have to be with someone black" "why does he always have to have a black reader" like Ummmm DO Y'ALL NOT HEAR HOW DUMB AND IGNORANT YOU SOUND?
We gotta gatekeep the black characters in this fandom until ppl know how to act right and stop getting besides themselves
PREACH!!!!!! CAUSE LIKE -- People out here are really disturbed that they *checks notes* were reminded black people exist? black people being found specifically attractive in a way whiteness is CONSTANTLY.
Anti-Blackness, Hobie, & The Black!Reader -
[A SHORT rant about people who have an issue with Black!Readers]
I ALWAYS find it where when people beef with Black people who want to date other Black people.
Because it's 100% racism.
If you think that a Black person dating only Black people is wrong - Anti-blackness is probably the root.
Just kidding it is the root its literally the only solution and explanation hehehe
Tumblr media
Because as a trans person - when someone says they're T4T, everyone is fine with that.
Cis people can understand that they will never understand the trans experience, and that trans people may be attracted and want relationships with people who can understand on a personal level.
But when a Black Person say they're 'Black4Black' suddenly that's wrong?? We can't do that??
It's like non-whites cannot grasp that anti-black racism is a very VERY specific experience that we deal with all our lives and we may want partners that can not only support us but relate too. Partners we don't have to explain race shit too.
No- blackness is an experience that HAS to be available to them. Black people's experiences, minds and bodies HAVE to be available for there consumption or we're in the wrong.
We are either there to be consumed (like Hobie is) or ignored (like the Black!Reader is).
All my life I've seen the default OC and default reader be a white person. Readers that don't speak AAVE, that show no attempt at culture outside the 'normal' heteronormative American family.
And suddenly we try to change that for ourselves and that's not cool.
Also - people who say that about Hobie are just outright uneducated.
Hobie is from 1978.
Racial Discrimination in the UK was outlawed in 1965. Regardless of whether you think he's 16 or 19 - Hobie Brown grew up under racial segregation from ages 3-6.
He grew up seeing it - experiencing racism. Living with and being raised by and surrounded by a community of older black people who lived under segregation.
And even after the bill - Racist attitudes would still be surrounding him realistically speaking.
HE'S NOT FROM NOW.
Acting like Hobie has no opinions on that, or experiences, or coping mechanisms or TRAUMA from that - is fucked up.
That's black trauma LOOK AT IT.
Tumblr media
So YEAH, A guy who grew up under segregation and a police state would have trauma from it.
But they (racists) wanna sidestep that.
They'll talk all day about Hobie's police related trauma - but not the race thing......okay. Okay, no it's fine. I'm fine.
The idea that Hobie might have unsavory experiences with race makes them uncomfortable. The idea that Hobie would seek out Black Spaces to GET AWAY from white people - makes them foam at the mouth.
Not all white people are racist - but a white person can never understand anti-black racism from a personal view the way Hobie or I or you do.
That's just a fact.
But the idea that there's a special outlet we alone understand about Hobie, and connect with him through, they dislike that.
Anti-Blackness. It's everywhere.
Tumblr media
YOINK!! I'M TAKING HOBIE BACK TO THE ANCESTORS. LETS GO.

how did you know what you wanted to do in life? i’m 19 and i still have no idea!!
I got veeeery lucky in that I was always very good academically so kept seeking out what I saw as the 'hardest' subject for academic validation (so that would be physics, in my head) and then I did an internship in a cosmology department in my third year of uni and I was like "oh! I like research! I want to be a research scientist!"and then what proceeded from there was what I like to call a series of happy accidents. I used to think I loved cosmology until I got dissatisfied with how little data there are in reality, then I thought I wanted to be a theoretical physicist focusing on gravity (and actually that's what I applied to in all my PhD applications), but it's not really applicable to the here and now at all and end of the day I'm quite a realist and I think I would've struggled. Luckily though, I'd applied to do my master's year in the research group I currently work in because it was a lot of big data handling and I thought that could help me career-wise, and an academic in that group encouraged me to apply to a PhD there, and I got it! And a year or so in now, I absolutely LOVE it, it's super applicable, I get to travel to very remote places a whole lot, and every single person I work with has similar drive and mindset. Moral of my story is: fuck around and find out, and don't sneer at the serendipitous!
Also, it's worth me saying I had absolutely NO clue who I was or what I wanted when I was nineteen. You do have time. Fuck it I didn't even know I was a lesbian at nineteen, like you really know nothing at nineteen so there's no shame in taking the time and putting in the work in discovering yourself in ALL aspects of your life. Try that work experience, date that person just because, try out that new hobby. Like, life is all ahead of you.

I have a question for you what do you think of the quote unquote age gap between Bloom and Valtor?
I had to do alot of research to understand Bloom age when I started to like this ship better than Mr cheater. So here's a brief information dump:
Bloom is 16 in the first episode and its confirm her bday is December 10 (we don't know the the exact year when each girl was born only the fact Stella is the oldest by that logic Bloom is the second youngest out of the group) when we get to season 3 it is confirmed that the girls is in their 3rd semester so that makes Bloom 19 at point. Valtor's age we do not know however I'm going to say at most early 20s from what we know Valtor working with a younger Griffin before he got Popsicled.
Here comes the tricky part. In s4 the girls just finished their semester and graduated making them 20-21. Up until s5 where Nicklodeon had to reboot their age making them 16 again. Flashforward to s8 and that makes Bloom age 19 if you are following the reboot or 23 if you do not follow the reboot. Since we don't know how long Valtor been frozen his mental age is up for debate.
For me personally I don't see Sparxshipping as an Edward and Bella situation as Edward was aging naturally during his years while Valtor was frozen and couldn't age naturally but only mentally.
Okay okay first of all! Your Bloom math checks out and I just realized that I for some reason always thought Bloom is 18 in s3. Which is still possible, I think, I just dont know why I assumed that. Actually no, it works, if she is 16 in s1 she is 17 in s2 and 18 in s3, but we dont know a lot about how the school years work in Magix so I'm gonna jot her down as 18-19 for the remainder of this post.
Still dont know how I passed math btw.
Anyway. Valtor's age is where the real mystery is at. We've got two possibilities in my opinion.
1. He's pulling the ageless immortal card.
My personal go-to for fics and discussions. Love me some 300 year old mommy issues. He has too much practice being a messy bitch, there's no fixing this man folks.
Evidence: There's a flashback showing him with Griffin as a tween: she looks MUCH younger, he looks exactly the same. Unless he also stole the secret magic of the world's most potent anti aging cream, or Griffin's proximity to Faragonda just aged her by three more decades, he does not age.
2. He is the age he looks.
Which, in my humble opinion, would not put him anywhere near twenty. That is a grown man. He's not college age, unless you count college professors under that word. Even if I were good at guessing ages the very stylized art style would throw me for a loop, but im gonna say 40s, give or take. Look at Avalon, look at Codatorta, look at King Radius if u must. That is the age range we're looking at.
Evidence: I dont have any. We're ballin'. I guess it's never explicitly stated he's immortal, which you'd think would be big enough of a deal to mention. If u got something feel free to let me know.
That being said, the Winx Club Wiki page for the canon timeline (ha, good one) puts the time of Valtor's creation in a rough time frame from "Over 17 years before season 1" to "Under 100 years before season 6". So he could technically be anywhere from 17-97, though I'm not sure the upper limit is as reliable as the lower one, given the check-list format of the website. So make of that what you will.
Now that we've got the question of age out of the way, lets get to the age gap. I have no idea what the situation in twilight was to be honest, so I cant compare that.
Realistically, there's at least a decade between Bloom and Valtor. Possibly two decades and change. And that is just from visible age, we can add a few centuries on top of that if we're sticking with the immortal bit. I'm gonna be gonest, I dont think being frozen for 17 years will make a whole lot of difference here.
If you find that icky, which is fair, you can always change that for fics tho! Either turn him into a twenty year old or put Bloom in her milf-era, the options are endless. Personally, I think the age difference is half the fun though, and also the least of their issues. When you're off making out with the objectively worst person in history, wether he's too old for her isnt gonna rank very high on people's list of concerns.

Any kunizai hcs that you can share? All your bsd hcs are spot on
Thank you for thinking my bsd headcanons are on point!!! Yes, I have lots of kunizai headcanons, I think Kunikida is such a crucial pillar in Dazai's polycule.
Kunikida has a sex towel that's a different color than the other towels, but still part of an overarching and cohesive scheme because he needs to be able to tell when Dazai has grabbed the wrong towel but it also would distract him if it clashed too badly with the rest of the towels.
Kunikida keeps Dazai's dorm stocked with gummy vitamins mixed with actual gummies because Dazai will just eat them all as a meal if he doesn't feel like making himself food, and it's a waste of vitamins if he eats them all at once.
Dazai won't take medication if it's inconvenient or gross, so Kunikida will press his thumb into the hinge of Dazai's jaw and pill him like a cat. The first time Atsushi saw this, he was perturbed. The second time, Kunikida taught him how to do it too.
I think a lot about how personally and deeply Kunikida takes every life lost under his watch, and how Dazai is watching him, waiting for him to collapse beneath the pain, only for Kunikida to consistently bounce back anyway. It's a well of hope and healing for Dazai, and he relies on Kunikida, not for what Kunikida does for him, but for who Kunikida is despite everything. I'm not saying that Dazai would lose it without Kunikida anchoring him, but I have read Beast, so. Maybe that is what I'm saying.
This isn't a headcanon so much as it's actually canon, but Kunikida's nagging and browbeating are his sincerest show of affection and Dazai knows this and irritates him because when Kunikida throttles him over it, it's affirmation that Dazai doesn't often receive when he acts out. Chuuya is also good for this.
Speaking of which, Chuuya and Kunikida remind Dazai of each other for their stalwartness, their commitment to their values, their loyalty, their disgust for authority they don't respect, and their reactivity. Their ferocity is soothing to Dazai.
Kunikida sees Dazai as impossibly coquettish, provocative, and sensual, whereas Dazai finds his own sexuality brutish and like an imposition. Dazai's startled during the moments he sees himself through Kunikida's perspective, but he likes being surprised by Kunikida more than he hates himself. (Which also startles him, the first several times it happens.)
Kunikida, holding Atsushi up by his armpits: stinky Kyouka: no!! don't be mean!! Kunikida, swaying him: stinky bastard man Kyouka: no!!!!!! Dazai, not looking up from the pornographic magazine he's reading in the office: naughty boy. brat cat.
Dazai thinks he's keeping that he and Kunikida are sleeping together from Fukuzawa, namely because he sees himself as a corrupting influence and is avoiding the rejection he's certain he'd receive if he sought Fukuzawa's approval. Kunikida has already disclosed to Fukuzawa and received the appropriate paperwork from the law firm on the first floor of the Agency's office building. Dazai doesn't read the things Kunikida asks him to sign, so hasn't realized.
Kunikida says no to Dazai and not to Ranpo, so Dazai pays Ranpo with difficult-to-obtain sweets in exchange for Ranpo's cooperation when Dazai wants Kunikida to do ridiculous things about which Kunikida is liable to tell him no.
This isn't a headcanon, but related to the above, please enjoy this audio drama clip of Kunikida hyper-realistically meowing like a cat because Ranpo and Dazai are horrible imps [skip to 3:19 for Kunyaakida].

I was going through some posts I missed and came across the “tatsumi is mature but still does 19 year old things” and I just wanna say I’ve never been able to put it into words when my friends ask but like. That’s exactly what I love about this game.
We’ve got scandals and drama and weird crypto currencies and convoluted backstories of implied murder or identity theft or military shit or relations to underground gang activity or so SO much more and yet the writers still succeed in reminding you that this is a game full of high schoolers.
Natume was one of the five oddballs and suffered through so much during the war where it affects him to this day, but he also refers to his tech savvy and love of the occult as magic and loves the junior he “adopted” to death. Despite Aira struggling against every odd to become a real idol he still buys merch and looks on the internet to look for content of the ones he likes. Rinne was destined to become the monarch of his homeland but ran away in an attempt to find happiness and acceptance and is an amazing strategist who uses it to take down corruption, but his sense of humor is entirely made up of sex jokes and romantic teasing like Aira being “hiiro’s little girlfriend”. The amount of characters that assign themselves the mom friend role just because. Trickstar. I don’t think I need to explain Trickstar-
Like this game has made me cry so many times and it has its ridiculous moments but it also has its genuine ones while also being the most teenage shit I’ve seen in my life and I feel like so few media can balance those and still have a decent story like that. Sorry for the long ass post I just have so many feelings about this kind of stuff 😭
YEAH this is exactly what i was talking about in a previous ask when i said i have nothing meaningful to add to the enstars cast that isnt a headcanon . its all very well thought out and the interpersonal relationships are nuanced enough to feel realistic but outlandish enough to be interesting .
worldbuilding and character design is one of my special interests and i say this any chance i can get: the most important part of building a character (and a story in general) is realizing the importance of comedic irony and comedy as a whole regardless of genre or tone. it makes characters feel more 3 dimensional and relatable because people arent stagnant and theres multiple facets to any individuals personality (this is also why some of the most popular animes of all time have filler episodes or funny bits that show the characters personalities, every event hits with 3x emotional impact the more you know about the characters as people but that's a different discussion) enstars does a really good job of this . like for example if wataru were to have had a realistic reaction to eichi starting the war it wouldnt be nearly as good of a story. the fact that eichis ridiculous ass backwards plan to get wataru to fall in love with him actually worked is a perfect example of comedy used to make a story more interesting. another thing similar to this is how sometimes its better to not detail something and let characters do things for a mundane reason or even no reason at all . for example subaru hating chiaki just because he annoys him, or shinobu being on the broadcasting team despite his character not being associated with technology otherwise and therefore having no real backstory on why he likes radio stuff. its all really well planned worldbuilding with an insane amount of subtle details , which is why enstars is one of my favorite stories to analyze . the only thing i could possibly want more out of it is hardcore tragedy but thats entirely a personal preference rather than a critique because im a slut for catharsis and i love sad endings , especially ones where characters die . (don't worry im in therapy)

Austen asks! 4-24
I don't know if you intended this to be inclusive, but I'll answer them all anyway (skipping over the ones that have already been answered).
6. Favorite movie adaptation
The 1995 Sense and Sensibility. To me, it strikes a good balance between being a good adaptation and making the story accessible to audiences that haven't read the book, and it's one of the few that seems to understand Austen's humor and romance.
7. Favorite Austen couple
Anne and Wentworth. Their personalities balance each other perfectly.
8. Least favorite couple
Colonel Brandon and Marianne are so frustrating to me, mostly because of how Austen writes them. They fall victim to the Marian Halcombe Problem--if you spend the whole book showing a man and woman having tons of conversations and developing a good dynamic as equals, I'm not going to believe that he's in love with her sister.
9. Most hated foe of a heroine
Isabella Thorpe is a terrible person, and I can't think of any redeeming qualities or circumstances.
11. Least favorite book
I gained a better appreciation for Sense and Sensibility on my last reread, but it's still definitely Austen's weakest novel.
12. Least favorite Austen heroine
Marianne Dashwood is a realistic teenager, but not someone that I can admire or sympathize with too much.
14. Favorite love confession from the books
Can any Austen fan say anything other than The Letter in Persuasion?
16. Least favorite film adaptation
I hold a grudge against the 2005 Pride and Prejudice, because it did nothing to make me understand the appeal of Austen, and it's a horrible adaptation, but it has such a huge influence on fandom's interpretation of the novel.
Also, every once in a while, I remember the scene in the 2008 Sense and Sensibility where Brandon gives Willoughby a "stay away from my daughter" speech, and I shudder over how creepy it is.
17. Moment that made you sad/cry while reading
Basically any scene of Fanny Price's childhood.
18. Moment that made you smile/happy while reading
Henry Tilney's introduction scene in Northanger Abbey is just pure distilled joy.
19. Moment that made you laugh while reading
I'll never forget the time I laughed out loud in class while reading one of Miss Bates' speeches in Emma.
20. Moment that made you mad while reading
I don't know if I've ever been so mad for a heroine as I was during the scene where the neglected poor, orphaned, outsider Fanny watches everyone fawn over poor, orphaned outsider Mary Crawford.
22. Favorite Austen female casting decision
I love Tamsin Greig as Miss Bates in the 2009 Emma, because I did not imagine her talkativeness as stemming from anxiety, but it was fun to see her played that way and to experience a different interpretation that still felt valid.
I'm also going to take this opportunity to mention that I love Mrs. Jennings and Sir John Middleton in 1995's Sense and Sensibility. I just grin through every scene they're in, and I especially respect them after learning that they were the only cast members that Emma Thompson didn't have to write random extra dialogue for in crowd scenes, because they just naturally knew how to talk like Regency characters.
23. Favorite Austen male casting decision
I love Johnny Lee Miller as Mr. Knightley in 2009 Emma. I don't know if he matches the character in the novel, but I love how he portrayed the dynamic with Emma.
Also, Hugh Laurie as Mr. Palmer in 1995's Sense and Sensibility is perfection. And Greg Wise as Willoughby is beautiful and charming enough to do his job of fooling you into thinking he could be the romantic lead before he proves to be an utter cad.
24. Favorite supporting character
Mrs. Jennings. Hands-down. So vulgar, nosey, and over-the-top, but beneath it all, so kind and friendly and helpful. I love her so much.

I have this theory that Portia is gonna be the reason behind Penelope's engagement to Debling. Basically, I think Lord Debling is gonna proposes but Penelope would be unsure about saying yes because of her feelings towards Colin, Portia will realize this and pretty much shatters her "fantasies" that Colin doesn't see her that way and never will ( something similar to what Marina told her in season 1) and that she is wasting a great match for nothing. This will lead Penelope to say yes to Debling because she believes her mother is right. I just think it will fit Portia character to do this , like you said while she is an opportunistic person she is also a realistic one and she wouldn't want her daughter to waste a great opportunity for something that is unlikely in her opinion, and it just makes sense that Penelope would probably be affected by this speech because of her own sense of logic as well as her insecurities that she will push away her feelings for Colin and accept Debling.
While I hope we don't have another engagement to the wrong person for the third time I can see this.
Portia knows Penelope is not popular in the ton and her hardest daughter to get married off. It's possibly part of the reason that she debuted Penelope so early. Possibly hopping her youth would win over some gentleman, or let Penelope be on display long enough that by the time she's a more proper marriable age someone had broken through her shyness. Meanwhile she works on getting the older two married off first.
I know in the books it's said that Portia plans to basically retire and keep Penelope as a companion, but we also have to remember that Penelope is 28 by then, show Penelope is only 19. Show Portia wants her daughters married and settled. She wants to make sure they are secured in their lives, and now she probably wants the highest chances possible for a grandson. She's going to make sure to drill into Penelope's head that this is possibly her only chance to marry. Maybe get a repeat of her speech that even if she did not find love with her husband, she'll find other things to love, but first we have to make sure you get a husband and survive.
Penelope would probably take the words closer to heart because she is also at her own decision that she can't wait around anymore.

Objectively Miles and Jason are the best dynamic you can get out of superhero crossovers. They're written in ways that would fundamentally make them like eachother on first meeting because of their countless similarities yet significant differences and make for a really deep, equally beneficial and even realistic as much as you can be with superheroes dimensional hoping relathionship(and unlike a lot of certain other Jason hc relathionships,it's based of Miles as a person instead of black hair and blue eyes and superpower fantasies)
So Jason while not the nicest person has no reason to beef with Miles like he does often with others and that makes him give Miles a chance to get to know him and he'd have zero regrets because of what a chaotic little shit yet absolute sweetheart he is and he'd see his Robin self in him too-'You're like me....The me that died'.And Miles has so much banter game and nonchalantness to lack of manners(gracias por la confirmation Gwendita /lh)he'd get along with Jason easily and find his goth boyloser attitude funny and enjoyable to be around. They also have complimentary interests,Miles is an anime nerd and an artist and Jason is a classical literature nerd who's implied to keep secret journals that're written poetically and they have the uniting factors of being gamers and loving fast food so they can combine them and share their hobbies as bonding including parallel play and going to New York arcades and Batburger together and obviously Miles gets Jason to do graffiti with him and Jason convinces Miles to read his favorite books and they get real silly with all of it
There's also the obvious factor of Jason being afro-dominican('THAT'S NOT CA-'Shhhhh,i know you're one of those headass niggas who thinks Jason is a horndog with nothing but edge and that he actually likes Roy and 'Kori' but are a Jayrose and Jaytemis anti and i bet you think Slade is hot too, your Jason opinions are about as canon as that scene we shan't speak of even Grant Morrison regretted and said was ooc but that you still joke about cause you're racist)so like how Miles being afro-puerto rican made it so he has no problem befriending people of all ages thanks to the strong sense of community that's normalized in latino cultures, them being an intergenerational friendship came naturally.Jason wasn't always perfect due to lack of experience with kids but he didn't do damage and it was pretty much just him being a dumbass and Miles fumbled a bit too because a 19 year old is different from a 16 year old,a 14 year old and his mentor in his 30s he's also buds with but it was all gags and they're almost mentally linked.Jason has shoulder length dreads and Miles decided to get them too after he gained a supernatural white streak like him(spoilers!!!)so they could match and uses the fact Jason sobbed a lil over it as blackmail because he recorded it
Jason is 'Big Guy' and Miles is 'Little Man'.They're absolute MONSTERS on the battleground together and a terrifying ass proffessional instigators amature investigators duo.Jason turned Miles into a black death metal fan and Miles' tricked Jason into letting him try out makeup looks on him so he'd be trial run instead of Miles making himself look like a pretty clown. They're Animal Crossing partners(visiting eachother's villages and all that other good stuff).Miles is an 'Us!!!' type of guygirl and Jason loves it,he's like 'Yeah dude we are those two decorated cookies, you're so right'.Miles found a crazy ass Shakespearen item on a mission and gifted it to Jason and Jason bought Miles a replacement collectible.Jason uses Miles' head as an arm rest and Miles is the exception to the 'Don't touch the battle jacket' rule.Miles hates Bruce on the basis he contributed Jason's trauma AND is a rich white dude and Jason would want Jefferson and Rio as his parents if he didn't already have Talia
And obviously we need to adress the Spiderbatelephant in the room that Jason,y'know, dosen't follow the no kill rule and did some pretty bad shit in Utrh.I'll be honest,i'm not all that interested in doing a deep look into it because it's fictional superheroes but Miles is unaware of it for a long while and at first Jason just didn't feel like telling him the full details but as that while passed,Miles naturally influenced him into becoming good again with no effort and he came pretty close to killing too a few times because Jason influenced him back into chanelling his rage instead of surpressing it to be The Nice GuyTM(including giving him the guts to stand up to his bullies to the point they're scared of Miles)and that led to a moral crisis for Miles and time apart but it dosen't last that long because this is comics babie and also to me they're too edgy to be pg but still somehow is siblings protagonists-coded.Miles G showing up also fucks with Miles' head in this context and Jason ain't getting off easy either when Arkham Knight drops in the ruin things a lil more.Meows Morales and Pawson Todd(who's not a cat but a werewolf)and Lego Miles and Lego Jason and at least 5 other respective variants brighten things up though
Stan the Flowerghost Brothers with me.Thanks

Okay so @steriafluff asked me for Red Hood recommendations and I apparently have a lot of those, so...
Do keep in mind that these are very much My Opinions, but this is what I think is worth reading if you're getting into Jason Todd/Red Hood and don't wanna end up reading the... Really Weird Stuff.
So I think everyone should start by reading Batman 1940 from issue #408 to #429, which ends with Death in The Family, to see what Jason was like as a kid and as Robin (an absolute delight).
Then obviously you gotta read Batman: Under the Red Hood, (and deal with a 19 y/o being drawn like he's 40. Yeah.) but I would also recommend Red Hood: Lost Days, which basically covers what happens between the Lazarus Pit and Under the Red Hood.
Then we have... Red Hood and the Outlaws (2011). Look. I'll be honest. The """characterization""" for Starfire in that comic is painfully sexist. It has its moments and we somehow managed to pull a pretty cool friend group (and/or polycule if you wanna interpret it that way) out of it, but I would never blame you for skipping it. Red Hood/Arsenal, which covers the time after the original Outlaws broke up, is pretty decent tho.
Red Hood and the Outlaws: Rebirth (2016), on the other hand, I think is cooler than people give it credit. I like that they're a play on the DC trinity (Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman) but as antiheroes. The plot goes in some weird directions from time to time, but the characters keep their personalities all the way through it and I think it's just really fun. Tbh the worst thing about it is that they ended it.
Now I'm gonna give you a few wildcard picks that you're either gonna love or hate, but I think there's something cool in each of them:
Batman: Urban Legends, from issue #1 to #6. Look, it's got Bruce and Jason struggling to cooperate, they're realistically tense but ultimately on the same side, I wrote a whole fanfic about how delightful Jason's interaction with a kid he saves in this comic is, so yeah.
Batman: Three Jokers. This one is quite dark and potentially triggering I think, so be careful. It also has a little bit of Barbara x Jason which No Thank You, but the art is GREAT and it has some banger moments in there. Read at your own peril.
Robins (2021). It's got ups and downs, not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but if you want to see all five Robins interact it's a pretty interesting read.
Knight Terrors: Robin. Hey do you want Tim and Jason interacting and being brothers and actually talking through some of their personal issues while battling their own nightmares? If yes, then you'll enjoy this. A lil bit on the nose but good nonetheless.
And then finally we have Red Hood: The Hill, the new RH comic currently ongoing. We only have a couple of issues out yet so it's a bit early to judge its quality. Atm i agree with someone here on Tumblr who said that it feels like it's more about the new characters than about Jason himself, but maybe that'll change later on. We'll see.
So yeah these aren't all the comics I've read about him, but they are the ones that get his characterization right, or better than the rest at least. Hope this helps some new (or simply confused, which is very fair) fans out there.

What age do you imagine Trevors half sister is In your hc?
Hmm, good question. She's younger than him by several years, I'd think. This makes sense as to why she has no recollection of ever being a 'Belmont', or living with that family. She'd probably have been around toddlerhood (1 or possibly younger).
The Castlevania Wikia says Trevor's age at the beginning of the series is 20, but I don't buy that. He seems a few years older at least. Granted his lifestyle of drinking and wandering ages a person, but if Alucard is still a 'teenager' in human years (19 at the most), then Trevor should be older than 20 as his family was most likely killed/prosecuted years before Alucard was born.
Lisa knew of a man with 'secret knowledge', but she did not call him Dracula. I don't know if she knew this man and the infamous myth of Dracula were in fact one and the same. Perhaps she considered it a possibility, but it was far from fact to her. She meets Dracula, and then from the time jump we know she's burned alive 20 years later. Even if she and Drac got it on right then and there after meeting, Alucard would only be 19. If it took them about 3-4 years to fall in love/marry, then Alucard is like 15/16.
Alucard says to Trevor that he was surprised to find he had more of a childhood than Belmont, which to me, suggests that Trevor is not only older than Alucard but was given less time with his family as a child.
Thinking realistically, Trevor knows a fair deal about monsters and monster hunting. He's been trained. He couldn't have just been like 5 when everyone was killed because then he wouldn't have had the physical ability to retain all the knowledge he had. It's also implied that from his family's exile and his escape, he hasn't been back to his ancestral home. That coupled with the fact he was considered too young to be taught how to open the Belmont hold makes me think late pre-adolescence (like 10 or 11), but not quite tween terrority upon his family's murder.
So let's say Trevor is 11 when his family is killed, and at that time his younger sister is 1. Fast forward five years- Lisa has just met Dracula. This makes Trevor 16 and his little sister 6. Sometime before our time jump, say another 4 or so years later, Adrian is born. So Trevor is 20, his little sister is 10, and Adrian is a baby (1). Post time jump by the year 1475 when Lisa is murdered by the church, Trevor is 36, his little sister is 26, and Alucard is 16.
I'd imagine Sypha to be in her early twenties at the beginning of the series. Maybe 24 or 25.
I know there's this myth that people got married at like 14 because they dropped dead at 40 in the olden days, but that's not. The average lifespan is 40 because a lot of people died early deaths and brought the pooled average down. People did not automatically become considered grown-ups at 13 and great-great-grandmas if they lived till 50.
So the ages for this fic / most of my headcanons are as follows:
Trevor: 35/36
Trevor's Younger Sister: 26/27
Alucard: 16/17
Sypha: 24/25
Of course, this is just my interpretation and I suck at math so, please take all this with a grain of salt.
