putting this here so I have a reference later when I'm actually writing and posting the fanfic (rn I just have a good chunk plotted out and some scenes in my brain). Also including their pronouns so it makes a little more sense. For their clothing, it's just their choices when they don't have to wear the school uniform (I hate the uniform deeply imo no one looks as hot in robes). I am taking artistic license with their designs bc I can make them look better than their canon designs do easily. If I said something contradicting these earlier, ignore it, I've got shit memory and adhd.

Sirius (he/they/she): long hair, one of those really queer nonbinary bun type things? She wears half goth half casual punk clothing stuff (like fishnet shirts under sleeveless black hoodies/ corsets with leather band jackets, etc. Definitely a spikey black boots/spiked collar type person). Decently pale skin and really dark blueish eyes, like the night sky right before it fades to black or the sea during a thunderstorm. They do their own piercings which has given them more than one infection, but he does have some successful ones (nose bridge, eyebrow, lots of ear stuff, and snakebites). Remus will insist to do it for them if he knows that she has a new idea, and he's significantly safer about them.

Remus (he/they? He/him? Somewhat cis but has a complicated relationship with gender): short golden brown hair that's in a barely noticeably mullet style. Nostril piercing (Sirius said it would look good on him so he did it). Warm-toned light brown skin with a lot of freckles that you generally can't see, dark amber eyes. Dresses for comfort over style, which usually means t-shirts, sweatpants and beat up old sneakers. Their only very noticeable scar on their face is one over their lips and chin. They have more, but the others are more skin toned.

Peter (he/they, sometimes it): generally very cute, light skin with some freckles and messy wavy blonde hair, pale sky blue eyes. Sirius is trying to convince him to let them give him snakebites but he's very on the fence about it (he barely even wears makeup so he isn't the most adventurous about that stuff). Thick/long lashes. Tends to wear muted neutral colors. The only jewelery that he's consistent about is a leather bracelet he always has on his left wrist. Tries to not be visually noticeable, tends to hang around the back of the friend group and let the others get all the attention.

James (he/him probably): longer curly/wavy dark brown queer mullet (tboy energy) and warm brown skin. Dark golden toned brown eyes. People tend to think he and Remus are cousins or something which he thinks is really funny (he's definitely turned around and started making out with him for as a bit when someone asks them if they're related). Usually wears brown dyed or bleached jeans and reddish-brown/brown/green-brown/yellow t shirts and tops for the cohesive and effortless energy. Paints his nails bright colors whenever he can as a contrast to Sirius's chronically flaking black nail polish. Has his lobes pierced but usually just wears gold studs. Wears gold bands around his biceps so he can flex when he wins a quiddich (<- I did not check how to spell that, you know what I mean) match

Regulus (he/him): he prefers to wear more formal clothing because that's what he was raised doing and the layers help him cover up any raised areas on his binder, but when that isn't an option/he's too depressed to do anything fancy, he wears black hoodies that are significantly too large for him (barty or evan's usually). Makeup tends to give hm dysphoria, but he always fills in his eyebrows and he'll put eyeliner on his waterline when he's going to an actual event. He pierced his tongue as an act of rebellion when he was younger and now he just fidgets with it a lot, other than that he just has his lobes done (he got them as a newborn) and he always leaves them empty in hopes that they'll seal up.

My taste in music is very vast and it'll be difficult to limit it to one genre or a group of artists, but I can easily name some of the most influential performers for me: Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Leonard Cohen, Dusty Springfield, Judy Garland, Fleetwood Mac, Czesław Niemen, Marek Grechuta, Volodymyr Ivasyuk, Okean Elzy, Skryabin, Shocking Blue..

Pebbles is Moon’s adopted brother, and has some pretty bad weakness in his hands/legs bc he had cancer as a child. They all support him a lot (Pebbles is rlly stubborn about “being okay”) and Sig does a lot of charity streams for things like forgiving medical debt and cancer research. Sig and Moon bought a huge thing of stickers to help decorate Pebbles’ crutches so he’d like them more.

Pebbles’ name is Pebbles because Moon came up with it as a nickname when they were kids, and when Pebbles came out he chose that as his name. Moon cried about it. Also I just like the whole “transmasc w a silly name” thing bc I feel like it fits him.

Sig helps Pebbles dye his hair (emo mf) but requires that if he helps she gets to put streaks of color in his bangs. It’s usually pink but sometimes she chooses a different color. Sig has the underside of his hair dyed purple. Pebbles’ natural hair color is a pretty light brown.

They all have their cats ofc!! Messenger, Hunter, Arti, and Ruffles!! They were all either strays they found or adopted from a shelter.

I love gothic literature, such as the Invisible Man by H. G. Wells(bold and in colour 'cause I love it so much despite not talking about it for a while haha. i'm professionally diagnosed with ADHD and autism. i'm also self diagnosed with OCD and questioning BPD (borderline personality disorder). i have chronic pain from joint hypermobility and chronic fatigue. i struggle with undiagnosed anxiety, autistic burnout, and sensory processing. i do not live independently at the moment. i am a singlet. i am verbal with possible selective mutism and occasional speech loss.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about neurodivergence (in my case autism, adhd and undiagnosed dyspraxia) and being trans. I know it’s common to be both and we also seem to perceive gender differently, which is partly why I’m writing this. This post is meant for me to try and explain how I view gender, especially my own. I don’t know how well written it will be or even if it will make sense, but I’ll try to make it both. There is a summary of this post at the end.

I don’t have any “I knew I was trans since I was a young kid…” kind of memories. I never even thought about gender as a kid. Boys and girls were the same to me, they were just people. Sure, they looked a bit different, but all people looked a bit different from each other, so from what I can remember, that’s how I viewed it. Some people had 🍆, some had not. Some had extra fat on their chests, some had not (and some had both those fat bags and 🍆). And so on. I remember once though when I was standing up to pee and mum told me I couldn’t do that because I was a girl and I remember being very confused. I can’t remember if it was being called a girl that confused me or the fact that I couldn’t stand up and pee.

In my teens, I had my first gender thoughts, but more in the way of dividing people into boys and girls, not about my own identity. However, I do remember thinking that I didn’t know what to do with those I couldn’t classify as boys or girls, since some appeared to be both (I classified people based on what I had been told a boy or a girl was). I eventually named that group “pojcka” (a mix of the Swedish words for boy, pojke, and girl, flicka).

I also had a period of extreme distress during my puberty when I grew hair and fat bags on my chest, since I wasn’t supposed to have that.

Not until my early 20’s did I begin to think about my own gender identity. I met a trans person and also started hanging around tumblr. I found words for it and began researching. I didn’t find a perfect word, but I knew I was, am, transgender. I usually call myself just transgender or transman/male, but in reality, I’m more agender (some kind of masculine agender or something). I know gender is important and I kind of get what it is, but I don’t really get it at the same time. I know I’m definitely not female, but I’m not really male either. I’m a person and I prefer to be viewed in those terms, not male or female, but a person. I don’t like being called a man, even if being called a woman is much worse. Girl works a bit better, funny enough boy is the word that feels most ok to be called, kind of hilarious since I’m 36 now.

As for pronouns and such, it depends on the language. In English, I generally prefer gender neutral words, but “male” ones are fine too, but I don’t like being called “she/her” etc.  In Swedish though, I prefer “male” ones (han, honom, son, morbror, farbror etc) since the gender neutral ones just sounds weird to me (“hen” a mix of “han” (he) and “hon” (she) or “den/det” (it)). I’m very uncomfortable when people use my deadname, I’m absolutely not that person.

And about my body, I do have dysphoria about my chest fat-bags and I really want those removed. In general, I’d like a more gender neutral to male body. I’m not 100% sure about T, but I know that I, as mentioned, definitely want a top surgery if I can.

Hmm, not sure if there’s anything more to write right now. Maybe this rambling will resonate with someone. Maybe not, but it feels good to have tried to put it in words.

SUMMARY:

Didn’t think of gender until teens and then only to classify others. Created a third classification for those who seemed to be both.

Started think about gender identity in my early 20’s.

Don’t view myself as male or female, but more as a person. However I prefer gender neutral or “male” pronouns and other describing words. Some kind of masculine agender as identity.

Gender is tricky and I still don’t fully understand gender identity, despite being 36 yo now.

hello! could i possibly get a homestuck matchup?

Hi, I have a question regarding Apple Sauce's rant on autistic voices being silenced or downplayed on social media ..

does that feeling also aply when people with other neurodivergences relate ? I personally have ADD and experience RSD so I am panicked about overstepping when i relate and share my experiences on ADHD and/or Autism spectrum focussed posts.

I know you can't give a generalized answer but .. idk i just feel like i am not supposed to relate to the rant because it isn't about me and i feel like i am part of the others that are complained about

I think a few people are kind of misinterpreting the message of the comic. Autistic people hold solidarity with other neurodivergent people and vice versa, but I was just wanting there to be a character who navigates the world being neurogivergent that was from the perspective of an autistic person, because I primarily only ever saw ADHD posts talking about neurodivergency, and so for years I’d see them and go “Oh, there’s something kind of relatable, that’s not Exactly Me, but I experience [insert ADHD/Autistic trait overlap]”. It’s awesome we’re seeing more ADHD or other neurodivergeny representation online! What I noticed however was a severe lack of neurodivergency posts from autistic creators. I thought “Wouldn’t that be cool if we could make this representation even better where there were also autistic voices talking about the same stuff? And autistic comics and posts about neurodivergency through this autistic lens I could see on my feed just as much as I do from other neurodivergent people?”

Just like I was half relating to posts about ADHD for years—knowing full well I’m autistic instead but that there are trait overlaps and we’re both neurodivergent—of course it’s fine for other neurodivergent people to relate to the autistic comics I draw :P I even noticed some people saying “I’m not neurodivergent but this is relatable” on some of my Apple Sauce comics. If you find yourself always saying “Same” or “mood” to posts about autism or ADHD or any other neurodivergent experience..... it doesn’t have to mean a neurotypical person is wrongfully relating.... because have you ever considered you might be neurodivergent as well? Some people are so shocked to find out when they finally gain a perception of autism that hasn’t been skewed by stereotypes that they think, “No... that can’t possibly be me.... right?” Our content is often the gateway for people to discover things about themselves.

So if you REALLY want a real example of what type of thing this comic is addressing....

After posting my latest one, I got a few nt people who messaged me asking if they could repost THIS part of the comic to use as a general public reaction photo for a Meme Status Image (meaning a reaction to ANY post, ANY subject):

This is EXACTLY the sort of problem my comic draws awareness to. Can you tell what my original comic is about by those 3 panels alone? Nope? Well neither can I! And that’s the irony of this whole situation!

Imagine if people started taking this image from me and using it as a common meme reaction photo all over Instagram or Twitter. In a completely IRONIC twist, the comic this image is a part of talks about how neurotypical people take autistic content out of context—the context of which is autism—in order to fit it to a broader category of experiences which have nothing to do with autism or neurodivergency at all, because they don’t like it/find it inconvenient that something they find “relatable” or “funny” or “cool” has autism attached to it. A comic that is MEANT to be about making sure you boost autistic voices and not simply bulldoze us over by invalidation or taking mention of autism out of the picture gets lost. In complete irony, my message as an autistic creator on an important issue gets lost to the exact thing I tried to point out in the comic it was taken from.

TLDR; I thought I’d give a thorough explanation for non-autistic people worrying if it was wrong to relate to my autistic drawings. The answer is: no. Relating to other neurodivergent experiences as a neurodivergent person is common, and if you don’t think yourself neurodivergent, but my comics heavily resonate in you, you might want to consider if you’re neurodivergent too!
