You were a spider woman, not just any spider woman, but the only spider woman in your universe. The thing about you was you were basically a pastel rainbow. You were pale pinks, blues, yellows, purples and every other light color, you also wore a small tiara while wearing your pastel colored suit. You stood out a lot when it came to the Spider Society Head quarters.

That's how you and Hobie met, you had just been recruited, he liked your style, he thought that it really fit you and your personality. Then you both began to date shortly. You and Hobie were basically a good due. Not only that but your group of friends began to suspect that you and Hobie were more than friends. Hobie was nice, but he was way to nice when it came to you, he was smitten by you.

One day when there was no work, you and Hobie were in the lobby, just talking to one another and whatever, not really being courteous about displaying some kind of PDA, well all you did was just hold hands and talk. What you didn't notice was the small trio watching you three from afar.

"What do you think they're talking about?" Miles asked while watching you. "I have no idea, maybe they're discussing about something important?" Gwen added. They watched as you took your tiara from your head and placed it on Hobie's head. "Look! They're totally a couple" Pavitr, added while both Miles and Gwen looked at him. "How would you know?" Miles asked his friend. "Because she doesn't let any one touch her tiara, I asked if I could try it on once and she said no" Pavitr explained, then they went back to looking at you and Hobie.

This time you were just giggling at what Hobie had said while the trio still watched you both. "Do you think that they know?" you asked while giggling, you've noticed the trio were watching you after a couple minutes. "Eh, so what if they know? I think it's time that they know that me and you are a thing." He said, while looking at your tiara in his hands, looking at the three heart shaped tiara. It wasn't a real priceless tiara but you treated it at such, it was a gift from your aunt before she passed away, no one touched it but you and now your boyfriend Hobie, who you trusted with your crown.

You then stopped for a moment and thought of something. "I got an idea" you said, getting Hobie's attention. "What you got in mind?" he asked, then you leaned over and kissed his lips, this caught him off guard but he kissed you back. Then you heard a bunch of yelling and phrases such as 'I told you so!' or just 'OHHH'. You pulled away and giggled by how the trio was jumping around and making a scene around each other. "Now they're know for sure" Hobie said while looking over at your friends.

The Wednesday and Enid ones are nice - though I wish they had been official Skullectors bc I think the boxes would’ve been nicer, or if they’d have just done a two pack, it would have been cuter either way, but - no regrets, but I wish Enid were in uniform so it matched a little more.

I actually wasn't going to get Enid at first bc she just doesn't fit my decor aesthetic, but then I figured I'd regret it and was going to take her out of the box and throw her in my box of "play-able" MH dolls for all the kids I work with, but THEN I saw their boxes together made the window, so now she's on display lol

The Morticia & Wednesday Monster High Skullector dolls that came this summer are BEAUTIFUL. I like this Wednesday doll a lot better than the Wednesday (2022) one. Almost me want to write a Wednesday and her mom doing witchcraft scene…maybe it’ll jump start a KiGS update come time due to looking at them every day.

The urge to take these dolls out of the box is so real.

𝟭. being consistent in journaling ( 🪻 )

i have recently started journaling more consistently and would like to maintain this line. i tried several times to start, failing miserably, because i couldn't find a method that would keep me motivated for a long time. then i purchased the famous five minutes gratitude journal, which is much easier to keep, and which i manage to update almost every day because by simply having to answer the pre-set questions my brain doesn't experience it as a commitment, unlike writing a diary page. alongside the fmj i have another diary with blank pages that i use as a proper diary, writing my reflections, talking about my day, complaining about negative things and stuff like that. i must say that it's therapeutic. i hope this is the right time i can maintain consistency in writing.

𝟮. having a more balanced diet ( 🍋‍🟩 )

i admit i've been eating like shit lately, a lot of sweets and processed foods alternated with periods of fasting due to guilt with the excuse of not having enough time to cook among the thousand things to do. i want to seriously commit to investing some of my time each week into preparing healthy, homemade meals (i could share some recipes here if you want, lmk) that keep me energized and don't ruin my hard work at the gym by adding empty calories to my diet.

𝟯. being consistent in the gym ( 🍄 )

and then obviously going to the gym at least 3 times a week, not really due to a matter of weight/aesthetics, but to cultivate discipline and focus. i believe that physically venting stress is the best and healthiest way to handle the crushing weight of life lately. sometimes i simply need to unload my energy without throwing a fit and risking venting it on someone who has nothing to do with it.

𝟰. reading at least 10 pages per day ( 📚 )

i love reading. i love reading madly, but i also know that i often find a thousand excuses not to do it. my brain fried by social media and zombie scrolling doesn't like the idea of concentrating on printed pages at all and i always put off reading all those books placed on my shelf gathering dust. i haven't read a book in months, so the time has come to break this bad habit and take back my greatest passion. i won't even mention all the benefits of reading, because only one book can give you so much in such a short time.

𝟱. sleep at least 8 hours ( ☕ )

i think my lack of sleep has a psychological component, but i'm no expert so what i say may not actually make any sense. i sleep little, much less than i need, when i was in high school i finished studying very late at night (past 3am) every day because i was so dependent on academic validation that the idea of getting a slightly lower grade than my usual could make me throw up. the thing is, i always delay going to sleep, even though my body is begging me to do so, and i think it's due to an inherent fear that the next day i'll have to go through it all over again. consequently in the morning i'm a wreck and i have to drag myself out of bed, being 30% as productive as i actually could be. i think it's time to work on my sleep schedule much more seriously, i think it could boost my health a lot.

𝟲. spend 15min in the sun every day ( ☀️ )

as a woman i know how important it is to be in the sun to produce vitamin D, unfortunately for me i'm some kind of goblin vampire who can't stay in the sun for more than five minutes without getting sunburned – on top of that my eyes start to water when the light too strong. i'll arm myself with sunscreen and give my body what it needs, hoping i won't get arthritis in my forties.

Thinking about Lumen, he really is just an ordinary guy caught up in extraordinary situations. It's super easy to focus on that part of his character and leave the rest of it out, but...

(Putting this all under a read more so that it doesn't take up a lot of scroll space. Lumen Analysis below.)

Jordi Fontanarossa is technically a diaspora, but it almost seems like he feels like he doesn’t belong. He has almost no links to the rest of the Ægir beyond his species, what he has left of his parents (their notes, I'll get back to this later), and what little his uncle would tell him. Which is implied to be not a lot for his own safety, but... it doesn’t change the fact that while this feeling of separation definitely applies to all Ægir Islanders, of all the Iberian Ægirs we know, only Jordi seems to have a lot of obvious feelings about this.

"I mean, I know nothing about the Ægir" is one of his lines that stick to me a lot. Because... he's right, he admits it himself even; but somehow he's supposed to do something about the rift between Iberians and Ægir Islanders as the first Ægir Inquisitor-In-Training since forever, essentially? He isn't even suited to be an Inquisitor in the sense of fighting the Seaborn! His hands are made for tools and not for weapons, but he essentially got press-ganged into the Inquisition at the end of Stultifera Navis because... he knew too much. About the Seaborn, about what's really going on...

And this ordinary guy is now responsible for doing something about the rift between races? Like. I understand that you have to start from somewhere and that it works because Jordi is the mosy harmless guppy ever unless you get a Hand of Purification, but the man just lost his uncle and is grappling with the fact that the ocean is even more dangerous than he thought. Give the fishie a break.

Unfortunately, he isn't getting one, because that's not the kind of world Arknights is; and Jordi is a kind of person who can inspire change. In a small way, but even the smallest speck of light can shine bright enough to dispell the darkness.

In any case, let me continue with this scuffed Lumen analysis. Namely, his disconnect with Ægir as a civilization and culture. Because that line I highlighted about how he knows nothing about the Ægir? It means so much added with certain other things about Jordi.

Now, I can't claim to know every single detail, but when it's all said and done, it's pretty clear that Jordi is disconnected from his culture. Not only is he the only Ægir in Gran Faro, but... he was young enough that it seems like he barely recalls his parents. So he wouldn't necessarily remember too much about whatever culture the Ægir Islanders would have, beyond a few things:

One - the Ægir Civilization is one of the more advanced civilizations technology-wise on Terra.

Related to this, it's mentioned that Jordi's parents left him notes and things relared to engineering. It's said that he holds his tools awkwardly like he taught himself how to use them. It's also implied that he just genuinely taught himself how to do engineering since... well, who would teach him? Maybe his uncle, but for things related to the Golden Age of Iberia? It just doesn't seem likely with the general trauma the older generation of Iberia has due to the Great Silence.

Two - Have you noticed that the Operators related to Ægir the Civilization have a specific kind of fancy? Sure we only see the Abyssal Hunters and that's a small sample size, but I feel like it's enough to at least vaguely pin down a national "style" so to speak.

Relating this to Lumen, look at his normal outfit. It's not quite the same fancy aesthetics as the Abyssal Hunters, but... it's similar enough. Sure it also fits pretty well with the Inquisition, but that's not the point. The point is that it feels like Jordi is trying to keep the memory of something alive by wearing what he wears - it might just be the typical gacha design philosophy, but... if he has only faint memories of his parents, he might recall a particular outfit one of them wore and he's trying to stick to it - to feel that connection with them that he just barely has. Regarding his skin though? That's a pirate shirt. Well, it's probably actually a poet's shirt, but it's that one shirt either vampires, lesbians or pirate's wear; and while Jordi isn't a pirate, out of those three he's more likely to fit in that category. Admittedly this one is my biggest stretch and more headcanon than canon, but I connected some dots at least.

Third: His lines.

Just his lines in general okay. He wonders how the Ægir live under the ocean. He has a line talking about how he knows nothing about the Ægir. There's probably more but as much as I love him, I am not willing to go through the whole of Stultifera Navis just to find every single line. In any case, Jordi's has multiple lines mentioning his lack of information on the Ægir and his own disconnect from the culture he supposedly belongs to as one.

Fourth: His Interlude - Till The Light Shines Bright.

Jordi: Do people out there know the sea better? Jordi: Do they talk about the great lighthouse, about the legend of the Eye of Iberia? Local Messenger: Don't be silly, Jordi. The people don't really talk about the sea. As for the great lighthouse, that's a nursery tale that the people of Gran Faro tell their children. Jordi: ...I see. Jordi: Thank you for the offer, Rald. Jordi: But I can't go, not until I've seen the sea and the lighthouse. Local Messenger: Gran Faro has failed. The dream of Iberia's Golden Age ended decades ago. Jordi: Don't say that. Jordi: It's not just a dream for Iberia. It's also a dream for the Ægir... Jordi: ...For one Ægir.

These lines in his Interlude mean a lot. Actually, his whole Interlude reveals so much. For one thing, he is teaching himself how to do Ægir engineering. We have a very smart guppy on our hands here people. It... also reveals Jordi's fascination with the ocean and the fact that unlike say, Amaia, he isn't interested in pursuing that fascination of his over caring for others. It's just... poignant in a way I don't have words for, really.

All of those just... combine to say that Jordi Fontanarossa is someone who wants to know about the Ægir. He has the opportunity now, but... growing up? All he had was his parents' journals and what little stories his uncle would share.

Why I say "what little stories" in reference to his uncle? Well. I have some thoughts on Thiago and how his death affected Jordi. Especially taking into account a module that Jordi was referenced in: Indigo's module.

However, once they had both left, Lumen raised an alternative, 'small-minded' conjecture, more or less that before an old man sends his granddaughter off to the city, he stuffs the only valuable they own into her suitcase and hopes she'll never come back, or that he'll have passed by the time she does... or thereabouts.

'The elderly are like that. They like to decide everything for you while you're still clueless,' Lumen added.

His lines there are... well, they definitely reveal a lot about what he feels about Thiago now. Not quite bitter, but not quite positive? Thiago has definitely made decisions for Jordi before out of worry for his former wife's last remaining family.

I don't have a lot to say here, but like. I wish we got to explore this more. Jordi is a quiet and well-meaning person who has more negative feelings than he seems to have due to the focus on his ordinary guy-ness and self-depreciation.

TL;DR: So with all this said about his place as an Ægir disconnected from his history and culture, but still trying, and now forced to be a cultural bridge with no culture of his own... I think Jordi should get to go off a little. As a treat and so that we can explore his character more because I think the guppy should be around more.

In light of rediscovering the post about Rhysand's family, I do think sjm exploring his relatives and relying less on his found family employees would have sold me better on F.eysand

For Context :

talking about an anon I got where they expressed their interest in learning more about Rhysand's father. And I replied with a sort of theory/HC based on what makes sense to me.

I personally think Rhys having an older sister, who his father primed as heir, would make some things fit better in the overall narrative - including why his education seemed left to his mother, why he didn't spend more time growing up in The CoN (the capital of his Court) rather than Velaris/Illyria, why he was free to befriend Tamlin, and why he doesn't seem to incorporate his sister into many of his memories/stories of growing up

For me this spectre of the older sister primed to inherit the privilege and burden of being heir and the younger sibling almost forgotten and neglected would make Feyre much more relatable to Rhys and vice versa. Including his almost irrational desire to "protect" her from her own family, even when his protectiveness oversteps her boundaries

ofc there's a canon reason for this but it barely makes sense from Feyre's pov so for a 500 y.o daemati HL, it just seems either ridiculous or something beyond rationale - probably driven by the mating bond

My problem is that I don't find "unthinking" actions like those attributed to the mating bond that romantic because then it would not matter who the mate was. It's not special.

I think the added element of this sister he can't reconcile with would make his dislike of Nesta less petty. Cause rn it's almost melodramatic to the point of irrational. Like ofc sjm always puts them on opposite sides of an excuse to clash but he's almost too emotionally invested in beefing with an essentially dependent woman more than 20 times younger than him

I think this would also be an understanding reason for Feyre to "allow" him to constantly undermine the boundaries she tried to enforce in how he interacts with her sister. Feyre would obv rationalise that he loses himself to anger because it's not just Nesta, he's in some way confronting a ghost of his past (not saying him and his sister would beef or be distant, just that there's these unresolved feelings around his childhood)

Anyways whatever, I just think sjm put too much weight into the soulmate element and focused on making two ppl aesthetically fit instead of developing two individual characters who fit together. And I think that distinction leaves anyone reading any deeper than the spoon-fed words on the page unconvinced these couples will last more than a decade or a century let alone forever

Myself and Asexuality

Yeah, so this is a lil rant about my relationship as being a grey ace girl.

For the longest time, I wasn't attracted to guys, the other way like my peers and I couldn't relate. All my crushes were all romantic and shit but sometimes I do feel the other attraction and sometimes I won't feel it for a month then boom, it comes, and it makes me so uncomfortable. And even I, an older sophomore couldn't believe that people younger than me already freaky ahh thoughts and I didn't.

Other older aces have told me, hey, you might just a late bloomer and did agree because I did feel it but, hey it never strayed that far sometimes and I found myself desiring guys a lot then poof, it goes away.

By then, I used to identify as closely as heteroromantic Grey Ace then.

Right now, I did feel more allo today, but it was still not as wild or intense.

Don't get me wrong, guys, being ace is a SPECTRUM, a very broad and diverse one. Your experiences might not be the same as other people though and that's okay, it's your journey and your trip, hey, you might be wrong, or you might be right, or you might be right.

Try different labels to see if it fits, if it does brava and if it doesn't it's a oh kay.

Well, to dive in deeper to my experiences. It is my experience with grey asexuality, Aspecs are valid and Arospecs are valid.

I would DNF a book if it's completely filed with NSFW content, I feel very bad about this thought as a reader, I love romance and I crave hand holding, movies and couple stuff but if the couple are constantly at each other, I would DNF the book.

I was once into a very good book, but the content was too much for me but hey, what about the cute moments, I enjoyed it Tho. The laughers sweet face and the cats. Don't forgot the pets.

So yeah.

Ace and Aspec people can love and enjoy content like that. That doesn't mean their less or not ace. Fiction is different from reality; this is just me. Every ace person is different.

I cannot get into NSFW manhwas again unless, it is cute and fluffy and romantic and censored, then I'll enjoy it by scrolling. It's too intense, ew the making out. Or l will overlook it like a mean girl.

Yeah, My friends were right.

I don't judge people's experiences in that manner, I will actually be suspired ad interested and secretly wishing that was me sometimes but overall, I am pretty neutral to indifferent.

But I can write it.

Aces and Aspec can write that, we are very good at it.

Guys, but there are a lot of positive aces not all of us are repulsed by it. Grazie.

Then to me, I dislike wearing short skirts and crop tops, it is sometimes empowering but overall, I do not like it. It makes me uncomfortable, and I hate it, no matter how much I get praised. I feel judged.

Again, Aces and Aspec people can dress all hot and stuff, that doesn't mean they are in fact less ace.

On top of that, figuring out that I am probably very huge probably bisexual or biromantic, complicating my feelings because as for girls is either aesthetic attraction, nervousness or staring then boom goes the bomb, the other way.

Hey been a while since I last came on here but just wanted to bring into light some matters that have been annoying me very much lately that most of the goth loving or spooky/paranormal show loving fans love to ignore...well the non bipoc half at least, so off I go I guess, now it is really aggravating to me how we as a society do not cancel tim Burton enough as we should, he still works on movies and still has a large audience watching him especially compared to how we cancel other racists but i mean i get it yknow non black or white ppl wanna say they don't tolerate racism till it's some popular creator that makes content they enjoy then they go out of their way clutching pearls,clutching purses grasping for straws, reaching so hard that they nearly dislocate their elbows all to try and keep their fave from getting cancelled because they know it means they wont have any more content which I find sad honestly that just because they're privileged they prioritise their entertainment over us and only cancel racist brands that they dont really use,only cancel racists that are either old or unattractive and only cancel racists as long as they do not make content they rlly enjoy hence Camilla Cabello gets cancelled for racism because she doesn't rlly make good songs while Lana del ray thrives, is defended and idolised. I don't really have anything like specific countries in mind for this, but my main thought was that he is sort of a more indoorsy/man-made entertainment kind of tourist rather than a natural beauty tourist whenever he's travelling for fun. I could see him liking going to major cities with lots of interesting museums, theaters, concerts, and exciting thrill-seeking things to do, like skydiving and riding rollercoasters... very much like that one-shot that shows him doing all of those things on a day off by himself, haha:

L + Orientation:

I feel like L is not straight and also has long been aware of that and is casually accepting of it about himself, but in a way where he probably would not announce it outright to anybody unless it blatantly comes up and he has a good reason to mention it. Possibly in a way where he's never even discussed it with anybody else before (if you think of him as somebody who's never been sexually/romantically involved with anybody, which I can see about as readily as I can see him as somebody who's had a bit of experience). I could see him as bi, but gay also works okay for me as well, considering in the manga he never actually really showed sincere attraction to a female character (the anime sort of made him seem more attracted to Misa with a couple added-in little moments than the manga ever did, imo). My main reason for this comes from how suggestive and teasing L can be with his behaviours toward Light at times without ever outright saying anything about himself or his preferences in canon.

This scene is probably the most helpful one to me for deciding how I'd characterize him in a fic about it:

He's getting outright accused of not being straight in a homophobic way because of his suggestive behaviours there, but he doesn't say anything like "I'm not into guys that way" or try to change anybody's mind about thinking of him as possibly not-straight. He kinda just avoids the subject altogether, even when saying he's not doing it because he wants to. I feel like L would also tell people he wasn't straight if he had a reason to do so, but that most of the time he doesn't really see the point in even bringing it up or want to divulge that kind of personal information, and he also just kinda likes to be withholding of information that he feels like people are fishing for from him as well.

L + Beauty:

I think he's somebody who would say he doesn't particularly value physical beauty as much as he does stuff like intelligence and hard work and moral fiber, and would say it's only skin deep or something along those lines, which is part of the reason he puts so little thought or effort into his own appearance. HOWEVER he also is a bit of a prideful stubborn sour grapes character to me too, and I think he likely sometimes avoids focusing on or trying to learn things that he feels he is just not naturally really very good at or would easily be the winner of, and would secretly be a bit embarrassed to be forced to try. Though it might never become a huge priority for him to focus on his own appearance more or anything, I could see him learning to really admire and appreciate different types of beauty more in general if somebody else introduced him to it in a way that interested him and made it seem more important to him. And then I could see him finding ways to surround himself with it more often once he develops more of an eye for it (like, say, has a partner with a good aesthetic sense who can help him decorate his room with a bit more pizzazz).

Builder Notes: I tried to make a staircase work in this space, I really did, but the ladder just made more sense. I am pretty happy with how it all turned out though. Credit goes to the original builder on the cloud light; I just refined it the tiniest bit. Also, the 2nd story is non-canon. The artwork doesn't show anything up there but I split the space in half like the original builder did and gave each twin their own space. The bathroom is also split down the middle with a toilet closet in the middle!

Steam Next Fest, winter 2024. Just when you're starting to get into a groove with a project, something new comes up to distract you. So it goes.

This one was all over the map — some games I really liked, a few that were kind of a letdown, and a few that were just sort of there. I think this is the first time a batch of demos has removed more items from my Steam wishlist than it's added. More detailed (though perhaps less organized) thoughts under the cut.

Okay so Balatro doesn't really count, I've been playing the demo for this game for months at this point, but I want to mention it anyway. It's a deckbuilder in the purest sense: you're given a plain deck of cards and tasked with scoring points via poker hands, accumulating a variety of buffs and modifiers to literally rig the deck in your favor. It is perhaps the most make number go up game I have played in a good while, and it's addicting as heck. I know some folks who will be playing the full version nonstop when it comes out later this month, and I might be one of 'em.

As far as city/settlement builders go, I don't think Synergy is jumping to the front of the queue when it has to compete with the likes of Laysara or The Wandering Village, but it does have some neat ideas. I do enjoy when I get to treat this sort of builder like a puzzle of sorts, fitting all of the pieces together, and the ways this demo asked me to do so on both small and large scale were just interesting enough to pique my curiosity. Might be worth a look in the future.

Now, a quick rundown of the demos that didn't land quite as well: Planetiles and Kamaeru had charming aesthetics, but the UI in both games felt a bit clunky and the gameplay left me wanting a bit more substance. Train Valley World moved away from the gameplay I enjoyed in the previous two entries in the series, in favor of something I'm not particularly interested in. There were a few other games I found while putting together my list this time around, but either bounced off of (Electrogical, Bounties of Babylon) or didn't get enough to pass judgement (Omnibullet, Overmorrow), so I may need to revisit them later.

Somewhere in the middle, I'd say, was Aarik and the Ruined Kingdom, a Monument Valley-esque puzzle game. It was… alright. I liked it, I just liked most of the other stuff I tried more. I need to sit down and play Monument Valley at some point.

There are two games on this list I'm torn on. Flock is a cute exploration game that reminds me of Sky: Children of the Light and charmed me in very similar ways. Customizing a character, flying around, and observing the game's colorful ecosystem was a lot of fun. Botany Manor is a puzzle game somewhere between The Witness and Return of the Obra Dinn, where you gather clues in your environment and use them to piece together answers to a central puzzle — in this case, figuring out how to make various plants grow. Some neat ideas to be had here.

I really liked both of these demos! But both of them ran into the same problem: I get motion-sick kind of easily, and there's a small subset of video games that make me dizzy if I play them for too long (and sometimes "too long" is, like, five minutes). To its credit, Botany Manor acknowledges this and has options to make it more accessible… but if there's a specific configuration of camera settings that doesn't give me a literal headache, I didn't find it. It's really frustrating that some of the games I enjoyed the most in this list are ones I'm not sure I can physically handle in the long term. I'll keep an eye on them, but… we'll see.

Moving on. Duck Detective is another "fill in the blanks" mystery in the vein of Case of the Golden Idol or the aforementioned Obra Dinn. It's a much more humorous and lighthearted take on the idea, and while the demo was pretty short, it gave a decent enough look at the gameplay and style that I'm interested in what lies beyond.

#BLUD immediately stands out for its hyper-cartoony art style, which it definitely leans into (it's got episode title cards, for crying out loud). It backs up that style with some charming writing and a decent Zelda-ish mix of exploration and dungeon crawling. I'm not sure the combat entirely clicked with me, especially early on before your character gets a proper weapon, but I still liked the demo well enough overall.

Crypt Custodian also took some time to grow on me, but when I did get into a groove I wound up having a pretty good time with it. It's a top-down 'vania — my closest comparison would be Hyper Light Drifter, with character progression and looser movement closer to something like Ori or Hollow Knight. It was a bit of a gauntlet at first, and didn't always give you a lot of direction (apparently that's an upgrade you need to unlock), but once I got a few more options for movement and combat it felt like I could handle most of what it was throwing at me. Seems fun.

For a more direct comparison to Ori, we close out with Tales of Kenzera. This was one of the other highlights of the bunch for me. The movement and combat felt good and offered a lot of options up front, and kept adding more throughout the demo — similar to Ori, it's not the tightest and prioritizes spectacle over precision, but the level and encounter design never asks for too much. The art, animation, and voice work are all excellent, and the story (drawing inspiration from Bantu folklore) shows a lot of promise. I'm interested to see where this one goes, for sure.

People(aka Nendo) would mistake Akashi for Saiki and Saiki would be pissed lmfao.

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

I already made a post compiling everything I hated about fanon akashi but Ill say it again.

People make him out to be some psycho who is obsessed with kuroko and hates everybody else. They give him no other personality other than scissors, tetsuya and being absolute as if he isnt so so much more than that.

Oreshi doesnt even exist in the heads of people who do this. But it has gotten much better over the years and most of the fandom has finally gotten a good grasp of hos character so thats nice.

Romantic AkaKuro. I just feel like their relationship is so much more than romance. You cant describe their relationship with the word romance. I see them more as queer platonic partners.

Again cant decide between Nijimura, Mayuzumi and Mibuchi so Ill explain my thoughts on all.

Nijimura was one of the only people who treated akashi as what he truly was, a child. He took him out for snacks, guided him actually cared for him you know all the reasons why niji is the best senpai. And Akashi really did look up to him and enjoyed being vice captain under him.

Reo is another person who treats Akashi(both of them) with so much kindness and love. Even If Mibuchi didnt(probably) like akashi romantically he would still care about him just as much. Like Akashi is his baby he loves him so much. And Akashi loves Reo just as much which is obvious given how he comforted him for the foul during the RakuSei match.

MayuAka is defo one of my favorite duos in series. They are the canon light and shadow duo for Rakuzan. Mayuzumi brings the much needed normalacy in Akashi's life like lending him his light novels(on multiple occasions might I add). But he also encouraged Akashi(in his own sarcastic way) even if he wasnt obligated to for how akashi treated him during the match. He forgives Akashi when he apologizes even though he could have rejected it. And Akashi likes Mayuzumi too. He frequently invites him to matches and outings(more like doesnt give him a chance to say no)(this was in cross colors btw) and quite literally tricked him into spending time with the other shadows(takao and kuroko). I think their relationship is very unexplored in the bigger sections of the fandom. Ok this got way too long Im sorry.

19. How about a relationship they have in canon that you don't like?

His relationship with his father leaves a lot to be desired. Now I dont think that masaomi is a bad person per say but he is a horrible father with or without meaning to. He blatantly neglets Akashi during his childhood and in his teenage years. He doesnt allow Akashi to mourn the death of his mother and only pushes him further. Akashi is forced to live up to his unreal expectations his entire life.

Now I dont think he doesnt love Akashi, I think that Masaomi is a man who loved his late wife but does not know how to give his son the love he needs and deserves partly because it was also how he was raised. Their relationship is overall pretty toxic and I can only hope that they talk through their issues when Akashi is older.

20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter?

Honestly? Either Momoi or Takao.

Momoi is an insanely intelligent girl and If this wasnt already said this enough they would overthrow the world. AkaMomo friendship wasnt shown in the show because they knew it would be too powerful.

Takao is a positive and funny person. He is optimistic and one of his greatest strenghts is being able to make any situation funny. I know this has been mentioned before but both Takao and Akashi want to improve on something the other has(being a point guard for takao and being approachable and funny for akashi)

I think they would bring out the best in eachother. They would also make Midorima's life miserable which is a bonus.

There's nothing in the fandom that I particularly hate other than the people who hate her tbh. In all the fics Ive read she is pretty badass and cool.

But her haters istg. They either hate her cause they find her love for kuroko annoying or because she gets in the way of their gay ships or whatever(I absolutely despise when female characters are hated because they " get in the way of m/m ship")

They also dislike her because she body shamed riko but tbh her calling riko's boobs small is 100 times better than aomine kneeing his teammate in the gut dont you think🤨🤨

11. Would you date this character?

One word. Yes.

Momoi is such a sweet person overall, she is so nice and caring and kind. Yes her cooking sucks but I can cook well enough for the both of us. I know for a fact she would be a super affectionate girlfriend. Id be getting cuddles 24/7.

15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)

AoMomo no competition. The childhood best friends to lovers. Momoi literally being Aomine's ideal girl, Momoi not realising that she likes Aomine because she liked kuroko. Aomine always protecting her no matter what. The two of them being throught thick and thin with eachother.

I just love their relatioship whether or not it is platonic or romantic.

Whats.up guys I'm back

Pot & their living space: Like I said before, LARGE open windows to fill the place with natural light instead of using overhead lights — they would have things like a shoe rack near the door, pegs for coats.

In the kitchen, it's more of a farmhouse kind of feel (yes, there's still big windows, a view to outside where the greenhouse is). So when they're making something, they use whatever they've been able to plant that day.

Spice cabinet in the corner of the kitchen. No need to expand further on that.

Debit Card: I like to think that he decorated with the intent of making things fit his aesthetic, so in this case, things with tiger stripe patterns, or animal patterns in general.

He likes to keep things organised — so when you enter, there's a small closet to keep shoes, and another closet to keep jackets near the front door.

On the walls, most likely various types of posters instead of photo frames, but if it is, its mainly family pictures that have weaseled their way to wall status.

Globe: Her house is earthy (pun intended, I guess), and full of costal design. The colours are on the neutral side of things, along with the decor. It's not too out there.

She's probably got candles around, either not used, or already burning — giving a lightsource. She doesn't use the overhead lights, and uses lamps and natural sunlight instead, and owns blinds, not curtains.

When guests are over, she takes their coats and they usually keep their shoes on. The coats go in a spare room for the time being, until they leave.

Box: They have a back garden, like I said before — there's probably a wooden shed back there, which is filled with various tools — next to it is a small patch of tomatoes growing.

They would have a grandfather clock — not because it's old, because she thought it looked cool. The previous owner left it, and Box decided that he didnt want to grt rid of it, as it added a bit of charm.

When you walk in, there's a big glass cabinet, probably full of things that they like — which adds a certain charm to the whole house.

One of my friends and players just brought something up to me that I think is a discussion that should be had and that is:

Should white people make ocs that are poc in ttrpgs

She sent me two ticktocks here and here where two poc talk about how it makes them uncomfortable when white people play as poc in ttrpgs and she was freaking out because her oc from the last 3-4 years in our campaign is mix raced. My friend is also mix raced but white passing and she was afraid she was offending people.

So, I just wanna give my perspective from observing this same discussion in other writing communities - because it is essentially the same discussion of whether or not white people can write poc in novels, video game, movies, etc because it all comes down to aesthetic appropriation.

Now, if any poc would like to add their own thoughts and experiences with this please do, your voices are much more important than mine - a white person - so I'm going to put my thoughts under a cut. I'm basically going to talk about my own observations within the fantasy genre as a whole when it comes to ethnicity and race and the patterns I've seen and how that translates into the ttrpg medium. Cheers :D

So, the main problem I've seen brought up when white people try to be inclusive by adding poc in their stories is that their inclusion stops at aesthetics. A poc is still written with the mindset of a white person. Changing the ethnicity of a character changes nothing about them and - many times - their ethnicity isn't even clear. They are south Asian but of which country? Which region? South Asians are an incredibly diverse ethnic group just like Afrians or Central/South Americans. If you can swap the ethnicity of a character without changing anything about them, then you aren't actually making good representation, you are doing the bare minimum of preventing an all white cast. It's 2023, we should hold ourselves and each other to higher standards.

Now, when it comes to fantasy stories, there is a bit of a problem. The worlds within fantasy settings become so much smaller because humans often share the setting with nonhumans such as elves, dwarves, gnomes, etc. This means humans are often turned into a european monolith - or something very close to it - while other real world ethnicities are shoved onto fantasy lineages (often times still flavors of european).

I dont think I need to point out why this is a problem. Humans continue using the aesthetics of nonwhite ethnicities but completely divorced of their culture and context. This is the definition of appropriation. I can think of dozens of fantasy stories from various mediums where there would be no change if a poc was white because their ethnicity has no impact on their characterization - as seen with various video game characters who's skin becomes lighter and lighter through every installment or has dark skinned concept art and a light skinned final product.

You want your fantasy setting to be a mixing pot of cultures and ethnicities? Ok, look at the US and how all of these different cultures remain intact even after generations. Yes, there is a level of assimilation but even fourth gen Mexican immigrants are still influenced their culture. Mix raced people have their own unique struggles and cultural experiences. Every country in the world has their own unique mixing pot of cultures and ethnicities. No country is a monolith as that would require committing cultural and/or ethnic genocide to everyone who does not fit the predestined mold.

A setting can have a mixing pot of cultures without racism or prejudice. You can have a human civilization that isn't a monolith. Don't be afraid to research different cultures to represent them with respect. Not only will it make your setting feel more immersive, it will give you a deeper understanding and respect for people irl.

It's always boggled my mind when people say irl race doesn't matter in fantasy then immediately turn around with fantasy racism like... seriously? The beauty of humanity is how diverse our cultures are and yet you'd rather dismiss this beauty over using the violence of prejudice and racism as cheap conflict in your story.

If you actually want to be inclusive in your fantasy stories, do research. Talk to poc of the ethnicity you are trying to represent.

If you are a player wanting to make an oc that is a different ethnicity than you - consider why? Does the character's physical appearance actually matter to their story? Are you willing to put in the work to represent this character's culture and respect the irl culture and people you are drawing from? Is this even your story to tell? If your answer to any of these questions is no, then maybe you should rethink some things.

I don't have the answer on whether or not white people should be allowed to make their oc a person of color but I think this question is indicative of a much larger problem within the fantasy genre of aesthetic appropriation and surface level representation of poc. I don't have any answers - other than put more effort into representing different ethnicities and cultures which its whole own can of worms- but its a conversation that should be had.

Anoint yourself in scents/oils

Bless each meal/drink you have

Light a candle or wax melt when you get home so your room/house smells nice

Speak with animals

Let yourself be in the moment
