It was only the day after Lucas had brought the news that Hayden suddenly heard frantic knocking on the veranda door. Everyone but him was at work, or well he was working too, but he had the luxury of working from home when he was tired. Wondering if it could be Lucas with some kinda panic attack he walked quickly towards the door, only to stop when he saw the one staring at him with tears in completely panicked eyes breathing as if he had a panic attack.

Hayden: Arlo? They had after all met before, but he had to admit he was very surprised to see the young man here, and in the state they still seemed to slip in and out of ever so often. Opening the door, he wrapped an arm gently around the young man, leading him to sit on the small bench they had there, afraid he would fall apart if he didn’t. Between the deep heaves of air, all he caught was incoherent panicked half words coming from the one sitting next to him, but he did catch the name of his son, and help.

Hayden: Arlo, I need you to breathe with me, okay, we need to slow down your breathing some or you will pass out.

Green panicked eyes met his, a soft smile on Hayden’s face as it reminded him of his twin so many years ago. Nodding at him, he took a deep breath waiting for Arlo to try and join him. Although it took a while, slowly but surely Arlo’s breath started to fall in line with his own, which let him message Vy to come home as soon as he could. He also quickly messaged Flynn as they were the one he knew could help open a portal. After Flynn and Fannar found their twin and being half reapers let them open portals, the trip between the two universes had become easier. Getting an answer instantly from Flynn telling them that he and his dad would join them.

Arlo: Fan, help him, please! Hayden: As soon as my husband comes home, we will go. Flynn and River will come too, okay?

Dang poor Haym has a toxic way of thinking abt his transness…

Oh yeah, it's definitely a toxic way to look at it, but it's also one that is just normal to him.

He honestly doesn't even know if he should identify as trans or not because technically, as an MK-unit, he was made to be a guy, so he shouldn't be trans. However, he was first ever created to be a girl and still has that code in him, so he feels that he should be able to identify as trans.

It's just a struggle for him because he never went through some harsh trauma or realization that he was a guy like his siblings went through for their gender identity. The rest of 1010 struggle, either in the past or still currently, with their gender, while Haym basically got a free pass because he kinda did a speedrun on transitioning.

He is technically trans, but because he was recreated as his preferred gender he doesn't feel like he has a right to the label of transgender. It's something he struggles with but refuses to really acknowledge mainly because he sees how the rest of 1010 has struggled (mainly Zimelu and Purl) with their identities and doesn't feel like he really has a say in anything because of how easy it was for him to be accepted by society since he can pass easily.

It's definitely a toxic way to think about his gender, but it's how he thinks and something that won't really be changing soon since he refuses to talk to the people around him about how he is feeling. He would rather try to just encourage and support those around him that he feels needs it a lot more than he does. So hiding and repressing his feelings is the best option for him so he can make sure everyone else around him is happy with who they are.

The last thing Haym would want is to make the people around him start questioning themselves like he is. He'd rather just suffer in a state of limbo, wondering if he is good enough, trans enough, suffered enough, than to ask for help and make those around him start thinking they are wrong in their own identity.
