F!Sebek fits in both long hair and short hair. For short hair I would go for like basic shoulder length that is always tied up (you know, for fight), for long hair I would go with same concept, but more for tying similiar to the one that has Charlie from Hazbin Hotel (the new design)

i love the debate of whether Mike should have long or short hair in s5! but i'll be a die hard defender of the long hair because

1.) it looks good okay, it suits him and the possibility of ponytails or Will brushing a hairstrand behind his ear are killing me in concept alone. but that's just personal preference, for me it's mainly 2.) it'd follow the Wheeler theme So Well, guysssss

bc i do like the concept of him cutting it in response to Eddies death. but listen, listen: the Wheeler's consistent themes with hair styling on the show okay.

Nancy's hair journey is a complete reflection of her personal growth as attested by the costume department. as she grows to be more independent and rejects the suburban cul-de-sac life her hair gets progressively shorter in every season while Also getting curlier. reject tradition and all, the haircut she had in s1 is Nothing like the one she has now

and Mike on the other hand goes in the opposite direction on the show. he starts s1 with your typical 80s-boy almost bowlcut but not 100% committed hairstyle and clothes his mom bought him. that's how his mom dressed and styled him - even commented on in universe with his little outfits from the GAP. and it's just like how Nancy also dressed to fit in the family. and then Mike's hair gets floofier and messier over the seasons, by s3 he still has the same haircut but it's overgrown and doesn't fall neatly or flat anymore. and then by season 4 where he finally starts to commit and rejects expectations for the first time and joins hellfire he has Long hair and it's length also makes it the waviest and curliest it's ever been

guys their hair journeys literally parallel each other in terms of character growth as of now. they both have less and less of the hairstyle they had in s1 as they reject their family's and the town's values. short neat haircut for boy and long wavy locks for girl were their starting points. classic nuclear family, gender roles, Reagan years. and now they're donning the shoulder length wavy hair for Mike and the short and crazy curly hair for Nancy. the Wheeler fashion seem to have a direct correlation between non-conformity and their hair defying the ideal conservative expectations of the time. and i love all possibilities i've seen suggested for Mike's hair, but following this pattern Mike should either have a similar hair length to s4 or longer/curlier to show him fully rejecting the expectations placed on him

because this hair showing development phenomena is Such a big thing even Karen fits that family styling 😭

from wavy brunette, to suddenly bleach blonde and then BAM curls out of nowhere. and all over her independence/cheating/plot relevancy story line

growing your hair to a style that's not alligned with what's seen as "tidy" or "ideal" is literally a Wheeler family moment and it's HILARIOUS

(maybe if Ted finally grew his mane out he would stop catching bad dad allegations)

Debated whether or not to make this a full post because it really doesn’t fucking matter and I’m happy we got illustrations at all but at the same time I wanted to do an analysis on my fav minor characters so why not.

So like. I definitely think Maryellen, Melody and Nanea’s illustrations were rushed out. It’s probably obvious with how fast AG went from “no illustrations” to “ok fine you can have them but they have to be abridged” but like. there’s minor details that are like. obviously inconsistent. Like for example, Maryellen’s friends.

In the portrait vignettes, we see Karen, Karen and Angela– we can assume that the Karen in yellow is Karen Stohlman, who is described as having long hair, and the Karen in blue is Karen King, who was described as having a “round, freckly face.” The one with slightly darker skin and black hair is Angela definitely, as she has the braids Angela is described with.

However like. You can clearly see the little differences. Karen’s hair is a bit shorter in the vignettes, and she has a part on the left side of her head as opposed to the center in the full illustration. Angela is given bangs and braid loops rather than twintails (and her hair is a bit more brown than black in the second pic), and Karen King is given a completely different hairstyle. In the first, she has short bangs and her hair is slightly lifted and wavy. In the full illustration, she has very curly hair cut short and a center part with no bangs.

(Personally, I like the second pic better. Maryellen wanted bangs in order to stand out, and having two of her three gfs already with bangs would kinda negate that)

There's also a few lil inconsistencies in Melody's books– she probably has the most accurate translation but for instance, in the second book they accidentally give Val bangs in a vignette when she doesn't have any.

Also this one is very minor but Yvonne is illustrated with straight hair in the vignettes even in the second book, when just a chapter or so into the first book she makes a statement out of letting her hair go natural. She is drawn with natural hair in the painted illustrations and it's quite likely that they intended her sibling picture to be a photo taken before the events of the book but like. idk

Then there's Lily and Dixie in Nanea's books, who are consistent in the illustrations but not in the text.

Lily is illustrated with short hair, a center part and no bangs. However, on page 74 of Legend of the Shark Goddess (chapter 7), it says "Only Lily stood beside her now, staring shyly at the sailor from beneath her shiny black bangs." Lily was illustrated without bangs, then, despite it being pretty common in the 40s. This really could have been an oversight of the illustrator not reading the mystery, which is likely, but Dixie's is... strange. She was described specifically in her first appearance as having a pageboy haircut, which is basically an overgrown bowlcut, so she should have very short hair and bangs. Instead, they give her more of a medium-length and no bangs. Does this illustrator have smth against bangs??? It's cute, but it's not Dixie.

I tried to write this fic months ago but it didn’t quite turn out right, so this is my first rewrite of a scrapped concept. It’s a human!Seed au. Once I saw a human Bride of Chucky fanfic on AO3, but I forgot the name.

Long story short, Chucky was never shot, he’s fine. He escaped and started a relationship with Karen Barclay, didn’t like Andy and tried to kill him a few times, eventually found Tiffany again and Bride happened slightly differently. Tiffany met up with Chucky about nine months before the events of that film and they… created Glen and Glenda. She had one of those pregnancies where you genuinely don’t realise you’re pregnant up until the labour, and when she gave birth, she was concussed due to getting knocked out by Jade instead of killed. When she woke up, the babies were gone and she’d been taken to prison along with Chucky. Six years later and the twins are ready to meet their parents!

I feel it’s important to describe how the twins look. They’re both pale and lanky, with short dark curly hair and blue eyes. Glenda has a blonde streak in her hair that she got from her mother, and both twins have a birth mark on their wrists that I’m pretending they got from Chucky for the sake of this au (my version of the ‘Made in Japan’ stamp). They look virtually identical, same haircut, same clothes, but Glenda clips her hair back on the left side. Don’t worry, they’re both British still, Psychs realised who’s kids they were and decided to keep them as part of a freak show he runs.

This is part one of my (first!!!) multi chapter fic, I’ll update about once or twice a week :).

They didn’t know much about themselves. They knew they were orphans, they were told that every day by their master. They knew that they were twins, because they were billed as ‘The Freakish Gemini Twins’ for the show.

They didn’t know their names. He hadn’t bothered to give them any. So they were Boy and Girl respectively. But they preferred to call each other ‘Twin’, because that’s what they were, and nobody could take that part of their identities away from them.

They knew that they had strange, dark dreams that they couldn’t understand. But Girl loved these dreams and was always thrilled when she woke up. It was Boy who screamed at each destructive act and got yelled at by the master for disturbing his sleep.

They knew that their living situation wasn’t normal. Boy and Girl lived in a small room that was locked from the outside with no windows. They slept curled up on an air mattress, as close as they were in the womb. Their only entertainment in this drab landscape was a small, semi-broken television set that they were allowed to watch if they had been good.

Girl and Boy had been working double time to earn television privileges this month, because it was nearly their birthday. They knew not to expect presents, but if they had television and a bit of food, they would be happy.

The television was playing right now. Some sort of behind the scenes film show. Boy and Girl didn’t understand what they were watching, because they’d had so little exposure to the outside world. From what they understood, it was an ‘interview’.

Girl nearly changed the channel to find their favourite cartoon, but Boy stopped her when he caught sight of the people being interviewed.

It was a man and a woman. The woman was blonde and had a tattoo of a heart on her right breast. She was looking very bored and annoyed at the end of a long couch, glaring at the man sitting next to her. Her hair was almost the same colour as Girl’s blonde streak, but because the woman wasn’t there in person, they couldn’t compare. But the man made the twins’ hearts stop.

He was tall and lanky, with long dark hair and piercing blue eyes. Boy and Girl looked each other and wordlessly agreed that they had to know more. So they sat on their mattress together, transfixed.

“So Mr Ray-‘

‘Call me Chucky, Mr Ray was my father.”

“…Okay, Chucky, can you explain to the viewers your role in this movie?”

The man smirked and took a drag from his cigarette before sitting up from his relaxed position and addressing the woman interviewing him.

“Well y’see, this movie’s based on my life, and I refused to give the studio the rights unless I was involved and paid. I’m essentially a producer, and I’m getting a cameo. Personally I think I should play myself, but I’m sure Brad’ll do a great job.”

The other woman on the couch sighed and coughed pointedly. The interviewer gave her an apologetic glance and turned to face her.

“Miss Valentine, is it true that this movie is the reason you were both let out of prison?”

The woman (Miss Valentine, apparently) rolled her eyes and crosses her arms in disappointment.

“I was hoping you’d ask a question that was actually aimed at me, like, how do I feel about Jennifer Tilly playing me. Side note, she’s my favourite actress and I feel honoured that she took the role. But yes, the producers were desperate to make this movie, and Chucky said that he’d only let them do it if we were let out on bail. He would’ve sued ‘em otherwise.”

The man (Chucky) let out a laugh. Boy and Girl jumped, it was slightly unsettling.

“Yeah. I’ve got, let’s say a pretty cutthroat lawyer.”

Miss Valentine nudged him with her elbow and snorted.

“You would, without a doubt, defend yourself in court, am I right?”

The pair laughed. The interviewer looked slightly unsettled and tried to get them back on topic.

“And this movie’s coming out next Fall?”

Chucky nodded.

“Yup, just in time for Halloween. My message to any viewers, please go watch it, and buy merchandise, cause Tiff and I get a 5% cut of any profits. We worked out a really good deal with the studio.”

The interviewer nodded towards the camera, smiling with relief, probably because she could leave.

“That’s all from me, back to you in the studio, Phil.��

Chucky raised his arm to wave goodbye as Miss Valentine (Tiff?) waved her fingers in a bored fashion.

“Fuck you very much.”

Boy and Girl gasped. On his arm… the twins looked at their own wrists. It was the exact same birth mark. Then there was the physical resemblance, the fact that their master had always said that their parents were criminals. These people had been to prison. Could it be? Were these people their parents?

As they dwelled on this thought, the door slammed open. It was the master, carrying two squirming rats in his hands. He looked mad. This wouldn’t be a pleasant encounter, the twins could tell. But he’d left the door open. All it took was a quick glance at each other for a plan to be formed.

“You were shit today. We’re losing our audience, you just aren’t scary anymore.”

That had been a deliberate plan to annoy him, because Boy and Girl had hoped that by appealing to the crowds, they’d call the police and they’d be free. But it was backfiring now. The last time they weren’t scary, they’d been forced to break each other’s arms, and they loathed hurting each other, they sobbed the entire time they’d had to do it. What would they be forced to do to these rats?

“You need to tap into your killer instincts. It’s in your blood, you’re just refusing because of ‘morals’ or whatever. Kill these rats and you might get fed today.”

It was all on Girl now. She stepped forward with a confident smirk and held out her arms. Before swiftly grabbing Psychs’ arms and pinning them behind his back, rats still in hand. Then, with a swiftly aimed kick to the legs, he was on the floor. Girl grabbed Boy’s hands and they ran.

They didn’t stop running until the only home they’d ever known was a small dot upon the horizon. The twins were out of breath, but they didn’t slow down, even if the danger was far behind them. They found a delivery truck and climbed inside an empty box after writing ‘Hollywood’ on the address label and sticking a stamp on it.

In a matter of days, they had arrived at their destination. They’d made a plan inside the box, trying to think of the best way to introduce themselves to their parents. Eventually, it was decided that Boy would meet them first, he was the more outgoing of the two, Girl tended to be more introverted, she rarely spoke. But Boy understood her perfectly, because he knew his sister as well as he knew himself.

After a few hours, Girl would come in from where she would be standing guard outside to prevent security guards separating them from their parents. They’d done all they could to get to this point, now all they could do was hope that these people were their parents and that they’d like them.

With a few deep breaths and a hand squeeze for luck, the twins pushed open the lid of the box and smiled nervously at each other. It was time.

Kieran Duffy isn’t your stammering, shy baby masterpost:

↣ very confident in his abilities: knows he’s capable with horses, knows he is a good fisherman. Thinks of himself as ‘a valuable asset’ worthy of a ransom. I’d lump his cockiness/how jovial he is at Six Point Cabin in with this, tbh: open body language, laughing, and ‘see, Arthur, I ain’t so bad’ (boy, they’re 👌 THIS 👌 CLOSE 👌 to killing you)

↣ to the point where he belligerently insists on running his mouth when it absolutely would be better if he would just shut the fuck up -- comparing the VDL gang to the O’Driscolls the SECOND he got let off the tree, the smell of charred pubic hairs off the tongs still hanging in the air, was perhaps the stupidest thing Kieran did in-game... he criticises the gang a few times, such as this example: ‘y’all just killing innocent folks now? You’re just like Colm O’Driscoll’.

↣ potentially quite confrontational! He tries to threaten Arthur when held in Colter, and does stand up for himself a fair bit when antagonised - or at least as much as he can given the complete lack of social and physical leverage he has in the VDL gang. With that in mind, though, it’s worth remembering that Kieran has recorded dialogue in the game files. He’ll even get involved in trying to tell Arthur to leave others alone: ‘I won’t be bullied by you!’, ‘you ain’t got no manners, leave her be!’

↣ plus has full combat dialogue, so like.. the man clearly is capable in a fight.

↣ has a sense of humour. He is quite happy making jokes, even if they’re slightly dorky or awkward, even if they’re not appreciated. He can make fun of Arthur’s hygiene levels - he’ll say ‘dang, Arthur, you been courtin’ a pig?’ if (I presume at least) Arthur comes to camp dirty, and he’ll mock Arthur’s hair ‘your hair is as long as a girls’ if he’s due a haircut (which, as an aside, implies that Kieran does value personal hygiene more than his bio suggests... which is... a weird inconsistency). If Arthur gets punched, Kieran will laugh at him about it. Nothing about any of this suggests that Kieran is timid.

↣ is also quite happy inviting Arthur out with him to go fishing, in spite of the fact that he’s not received much kindness from Arthur at this point.

↣ actually, is relatively comfortable approaching people, in general. He’s happy to approach Karen and initiate a conversation with her, even after she threw a cigarette in his face. And when they talk about how he’s worried about the boys killing him, he does so with a fair degree of indignation, as opposed to being scared - he rolls his eyes and huffs and gets all indignant when Arthur tells him to watch himself. ↣ one word: plucky. He’s very socially confident, and the minute he’s not at risk of being maimed or murdered, he’s pretty perky for the most part. Notably, he’s mostly twitchy and nervous around Arthur - who regularly threatens to kill him for the slightest thing - or Bill - who held hot gelding tongs to his genitals twice, and is, y’know, Bill.

↣ he whines. Incessantly. Literally incapable of shutting the fuck up. He recognises that he’s not happy with the way he’s treated, and is vocal about it.

↣ I don’t care what Kieran says: approaching a young, unmarried woman, and telling her that she’s ‘very pretty’ IS incredibly forward. It’s hugely inappropriate. And I’m sure ganglife leads to a lot of those gendered dynamics and gendered social etiquette being functionally redundant, but still. It would be forward, now; you would still recognise it as a flirtation. It would be EXTREMELY forward in 1899, especially considering the fact that Kieran and Mary-Beth were not courting at this point. It’s pretty much the first real interaction they have had, barring the few lines spoken to each other when she gave him water. I read the fact that he tried to back off by saying that he wasn’t “being forward, or nothing” as suggesting that he was aware of the impropriety and tried to retroactively be a bit more respectful by backing down to try and clarify that he had no intentions upon her. But he was still being forward. So... potentially he’s quite openly flirty? It’s hard to call because he has few opportunities to be, but you could totally read him that way.

Kieran can be cocky and snide and sarcastic and rude and it gives him a lot more an interesting edge, much more than the constantly stammering (which, btw, as someone with a speech impediment... some people overdo that SO much, sometimes. I know nobody means anything harmful by it, but just letting you guys know) and nervous ~softboi~ personality that is assigned to him. Kieran’s not a cute horseboy, he’s a bit of a cockroach, actually.

Buck asked for this. Not consciously, but he did ask for this. He has no one to blame but himself, really.

He’s sitting cross-legged in Hen and Karen’s backyard, nose itching with spring allergies, with Nia, innocently oblivious, spreading sparkly eyeshadow and lipgloss all over his face in the name of beauty.

(He had walked outside and found her chasing Harry around with a lip gloss wand, demanding that someone let her make them beautiful. And Buck, well, he couldn’t resist that face, could he?)

Meanwhile, Denny, Harry, and Chris, all significantly less innocently oblivious, are weaving leaves and twigs into his curls.

May, who was supposed to be watching over them, is no help from where she’s sitting stretched out on one of the lawn chairs, fingers tapping away at her screen, looking up occasionally, snorting, and shouting out words of encouragement to the kids.

“We’re making Buck pretty!” Nia giggles and all three boys nod their heads in agreement.

“And I so appreciate this generous makeover from you, Nia,” Buck says as she takes a brush and swipes some blush down the side of his face. He’s watched enough random makeup tutorials on YouTube to know that that is not his color, but he’s not going to tell her that. “Because you are a true artist. The rest of you I’m not so sure about.”

He reaches a hand behind him and digs his fingers into Harry’s side, tickling him.

“Hey,” Harry shouts, batting his hand away and jumping back a foot. “We’re just trying to help.”

“Yeah, Buck, we’re just helping Nia out,” Denny adds on, shooting a grin at Harry.

“We’re professional hairdressers, Buck,” Christopher says, trying to keep his voice level and serious, but he can’t really keep back his laughter.

“Oh are you, really? Remind me—when did you three go to cosmetology school again?”

“I don’t know what that is,” Harry says, dropping a handful of leaves over Buck’s head. Nia chastises him as some of the leaves drop over the front of his face, and he at least has the conscience to look a little guilty about it.

“I help my dad with his haircuts sometimes,” Christopher points out. Buck smiles.

“Well someone has to. Your dad’s too cheap to get them done professionally.”

“One time he used the clippers by himself and ended up with a bald spot on the back of his head. Abuela said he wasn’t allowed to do his hair unsupervised after that.”

Buck snickers, glancing over his shoulder at Christopher.

“I bet he looked real funny like that. You take any pictures?” Christopher’s eyes light up and he nods, dropping his voice down to a whisper.

“Yeah! But they’re on Pepa’s phone. I can ask her to share them with you.”

“That’s my boy,” Buck whispers back, holding his hand out for a fist bump.

“Oh, that can’t be good,” Eddie’s voice cuts through the yard. All five heads snap up and look in his direction before Christopher utters a tiny uh oh and all the kids scramble to different parts of the yard, Denny pulling Nia along by her hand.

Buck twists around, staring at the space around him.

“What, you're all just gonna leave me here like this? Traitors,” He shouts after them. He reaches a hand up and attempts to shake out some of the leaves, wincing as his hair gets caught on several twigs.

“Kids,” Eddie starts, crossing the grass towards Buck. “Can’t trust ‘em.”

Buck grins sheepishly at him. “You’re telling me. This bunch is sneaky, too. They pull you in with their cute charm and then you can’t get free.”

Eddie reaches a hand out towards him and Buck eyes it appreciatively before grasping it and hauling himself up.

“Yeah, kids are like that,” Eddie says, a little distracted, his eyes dancing around Buck’s face and hair. He presses his lips together, valiantly holding in his laughter, and starts helping dismantle the bird’s nest the boys made of Buck’s head.

“Thanks,” Buck says quietly, eyes dropping to the ground and watching as sticks and leaves fall down onto the grass. “They really did a number on me, huh?”

Eddie laughs, brushing some debris off Buck’s shoulder. “You haven’t seen your face yet.”

Buck’s eyes shoot up to meet his and Eddie freezes before stepping back and grinning. He pulls his phone out from his back pocket and tells Buck to smile, which earns him a scowl, and snaps a picture, turning the phone around for Buck to see.

“Please delete that immediately.”

“No,” Eddie pulls his phone away before Buck can grab it, sliding it back into his pocket. “I don’t think I will.”

“Well—just so you know, your son just promised to share some pictures of that time you shaved a bald spot into the back of your head, so.”

“Hey man, I’m just helping you out.”

“Funny, that’s what the kids said when they were turning me into some kind of forest monster.”

“And what kind of father would I be if I deleted the proof of all of their hard work?”

“I hate you,” Buck frowns—which just makes Eddie want to laugh harder. He bites his lip.

“Okay, okay. I think I have some wet wipes on me.” Buck watches as Eddie slips his hands into his jacket pockets, pats his chest pocket, pats along his legs, then finally pulls a packet of wet wipes out of the back pocket of his jeans.

“You carry wet wipes with you everywhere you go or did you just set me up for this?” Eddie gives him a look.

“We’re at a kid's party, Buck. And I have a kid. These are a staple for all parents everywhere.” Eddie pulls a wipe out and studies Buck’s face, not even really sure where to begin. The longer he stares, the more pitifully Buck stares back at him. Eddie blinks and decides to start with the eyes.

He steps closer to Buck, holding his jaw lightly with his fingers and whispering for him to close his eyes. There’s a moment of prolonged eye contact before Buck finally obliges, and Eddie starts gently sweeping the wipe over his eyelid.

“Plus,” He adds quietly. “I’ve got a best friend who somehow always manages to find himself caught up in all kinds of messes.”

“Aw, you carry those around just for me, Eds?”

There’s a pause, just for a moment, and Eddie swears he can hear his heart beating. He swallows.

“Just for you.”

Neither of them says anything for a minute and Eddie concentrates on making sure Buck’s eyes are clear of all glitter and makeup. He startles a little when Buck chuckles and Eddie feels the warmth of his breath.

He braces himself for whatever Buck’s about to say and then—

“Did you not like my makeover?” Buck and Eddie glance down, surprised to see Nia staring back up at them, standing to the left of Eddie.

“Uh,” Eddie says helpfully.

When did all four kids surround them? Eddie looks back up at Buck expectantly. Buck blinks back at him.

“I did,” He licks his lips. “But we’ve got to get ready for dinner now. So Eddie was just helping me clean up. My...face.”

“Did you tell him he looked beautiful?” Nia asks, this time staring right at Eddie, who blinks back at her.

“...I’m sorry?”

“When I used to do Mama Hen’s makeup she wasn’t allowed to take it off until Mama Karen told her she looked beautiful.”

Eddie stares at her, hand still hovering in the air by Buck’s face. Christopher tugs at his shirt from his other side.

“I think she wants you to tell Buck he looks beautiful, dad.”

Eddie turns slowly to look at him. “Thank you, Christopher.”

Christopher has the nerve to laugh at him.

Eddie straightens up and looks at Buck who stares back at him blankly, offering no assistance. He notices May setting her phone down out of the corner of his eye, a sly smile spreading on her face.

He definitely stepped into some sort of trap, walking outside. He’s sure of it.

“Um,” He says, dropping his hand to his side. Buck ducks his head a little, fluttering his eyelashes at Eddie. Eddie’s gonna kill him.

“You got something you want to say to me, Diaz?” Eddie shakes his head, letting himself laugh at the absurdity of the situation, Buck still with makeup smeared over half of his face, a bunch of kids surrounding them, watching them expectantly.

“Yeah, Buck. I think you look beautiful.”

The kids all burst into cheers and Eddie watches in amazement as Buck’s cheeks turn a shade of pink he’s pretty sure he’s never seen before.

May stands up from her chair.

“Alright let’s all get inside to wash up before dinner, okay?” She ignores everyone’s protests and ushers them back towards the house, sending a wink in Eddie’s direction before shutting the patio door.

Eddie lets his eyes linger on the door, daring anyone else to come out and catch them in another trap.

No one comes.

He turns back to Buck and they both just stare at each other before laughing softly. Eddie looks down at the wipes in his hand, almost forgotten. He steps back towards Buck and starts removing what’s left of the makeup.

“So...beautiful, huh?” Buck says eventually. Eddie focuses on the movement of the wipe against Buck’s face.

“Well, maybe not like this,” He says honestly. Buck huffs out a laugh.

“That’s good. I was worried I was gonna have to get done up like this all the time just for you to notice me.”

Eddie swallows, wiping the last stray swipe of glitter gloss from Buck’s face. He lets his fingers linger against his skin.

“I always notice you, Buck.”

Buck doesn’t say anything for a moment, just watches Eddie ball up the used wipes in his hand before slipping the pack back into his pocket.

“Really?” He says eventually, looking back up and holding Eddie’s gaze. Eddie hesitates.

He wants to play it off—say something about how of course everyone notices Buck, he demands attention all the time. He’s loud and bold and sometimes obnoxious—but Eddie knows that not everyone notices Buck the way he does.

It’s different. It’s not something that he can’t help—it's natural, instinctual. He’s drawn to Buck at all times, always. He doesn’t think there’s a way he could ever stop noticing Buck. He’s in everything Eddie does.

He notices Buck in the new alarm clock that sits on his nightstand—the one that’s supposed to wake him up gradually like the sun—the one Buck had insisted on buying for him because he thinks Eddie’s sleep schedule is shit and this clock’s supposed to be better. He never tells him that it actually does work for him—but he imagines the way the dark circles under his eyes have started to fade probably tell him all he needs to know.

He notices Buck in the oat milk that sits in the back of his fridge, in the extra protein bars in his pantry, in the box of baking supplies up high on the tallest shelf (maybe Eddie can cook—but he never bakes.)

He notices him in the extra clothes that end up in his laundry basket every once in a while—leftover from nights when Buck passes out on their couch. Notices him in the LAFD hoodie hanging on the hook by his front door (the one that’s just a little too big to be his own,) in the spare key to Buck’s apartment that’s been on his ring of keys for years now.

He’s in the way Eddie makes his morning coffee, the playlist he listens to on the way to work, the movies and TV shows in his Netflix queue, in the new phrases and mannerisms that Christopher picks up—ones that always hit Eddie right in his gut.

Of course Eddie always notices him. He could never miss the way Buck’s smile lights up a room or the way his laugh loosens up every tense muscle in Eddie’s body.

Sometimes, like if he’s had too much to drink, Eddie starts to think of Buck as a lighthouse. A really tall, really sturdy lighthouse. And through whatever—rain, fog, sleet, hail—Eddie’s always able to find his light.

Sober Eddie thinks that’s corny. But the thought always comes back to him—a truth he can’t shake.

“Yeah, Buck,” He says quietly. “Really.”

I know this is a stupid question but I went to the hairdresser last week (I’m afab non-binary and still miles in the closet) and asked to get my hair cut like Campbell from taking over the asylum. I came out of there looking like I was gonna ask for the manager of the grocery mart (like a Karen) and it made me feel even worse than before. Once I got home, I was able to get at it with a flat iron so it looks a little shorter, but it still makes me feel terribly feminine and not how I want to present. I’m debating whether I should hack at my hair with the kitchen shears, or let it grow back a little so I can have the gender talk with my family and get it properly cut. Basically, I’m wondering if you know any easy way to explain dysphoria to the cis’s and how to doctor up a terrible haircut. Sorry for the long ask.

As a person who has struggled with their hair a lot, believe me that this is not a stupid question. For a lot of us, hair can be a super big source of euphoria or dysphoria, so having a haircut you vibe with is important.

I may not be the best for advice with hair because a) I’ve never been able to get mine cut above my shoulders ☹ b) I have curly hair that tends to fall differently than other people’s. I’ll try my best to help though! I probably wouldn’t go at it with scissors, since I’ve never heard about that turning out well. I think it would be good to go get it cut shorter (maybe even straight up tell your barber you want to look androgynous if you’re comfortable) again, but if you’re uncomfortable waiting until you can tell your family, I would just use hats. Hats are great. Baseball caps, beanies, bucket hats, the list goes on. Mess around with them to see what works for you and if any of them make you feel more comfortable.

In terms of explaining dysphoria to cis folks, it obviously varies person to person, but I think the way I explained it to my older brother was rather effective. I told him to imagine that everyone thought he was a girl, and that he had the body of a girl. He could of course be a “tomboy” and still pursue masculine interests, the same as he had in real life, but everyone would still view him as a girl and use she/her pronouns. Plus, he’d still have the body of a girl. He thought that sounded terrible and it really helped him to understand what I was going through.

i do in fact! i've actually been meaning to make a post about how i choose to write all of the foxes' ethnicities anyway

but yes i absolutely agree that the typical pinterest model types u generally see on edits is not how i see any of them. nor is reece king or froy gutierrez or lucky blue smith one of my FCs for anyone

for a lot of them i don't necessarily have a single specific FC so much as i have like,, a general impression of features that i will see on various different people, who all may look wildly different from each other or who may not even look how i see the character as a whole but do have a specific feature i associate with them. mostly it boils down to the Energy i get tbh and that's just a Feeling i cant even explain

fun fact im a tiny bit face blind so that might account for some of why i'm so all-over about this

may as well go chronologically. some of them i definitely have more thoughts on than others

1. Dan

ethnicity: Afro Native (Sioux)

features: medium dark skin. buzzcut, killer fade. she often styles it in waves. she's very butch, wears a lot of basketball and cargo shorts, tank tops and flannels and jerseys, hiking boots. skinny but muscular, with a very rectangular body shape. defined jaw. probably like 5'4 or 5'5

FC/Energy: sometimes i get some dan energy out of janelle monae but more butch. lotta dan energy out of samira wiley. lashana lynch

2. Kevin

ethnicity: a lot of things tbd, but he's pretty multi-ethnic. i like the idea of kayleigh being half- or a quarter-japanese in addition to irish because it gives her more of a reason to go to japan for her undergrad. wymack is from d.c. which is a majority black city for its actual residents, but i also like the idea of him being Pasifika/Hawaiian. HOWEVER - and this is pretty important to my read of kevin's character - he's white passing, and has been mostly treated as a white guy who tans his whole life, like occasionally asked if he's italian maybe. learning that his father was a Distinctly Not White Man was a big shock to him.

kristin kreuk, lindsay price, phoebe cates, and marie digby are all half-asian actresses i base kayleigh on

i suppose i base his story partially on broadway actress carol channing, who revealed publically that she was a quarter black when she was like 80 years old. though maybe wentworth miller, a biracial actor who knows his father is black but also doesn't know him, is more accurate to kevin's story. then keanu reeves is a white passing actor with asian ancestry

also none of these people look anything like how i picture kevin lol. kevin is just like,, a guy. handsome ig. but kind of in a CW character kind of way

features: fat and muscular, very wide and heavy. this blog is basically all andrew body type refs. medium-olive skin, has a bit of a greyish tinge that makes him look a bit eerie or unhealthy. deep set, droopy eyes; looks so tired. flat face with a low-bridged nose. crooked teeth, especially his canines. natural hair black-ish but he bleaches it light blond. has the beginnings of martial artist punching callouses in his knuckles

FC/Energy: holy shit the characters i feel have Andrew Energy are all over the place. pedro pascal. babe ruth (yes fr). oddjob (harold sakata) from goldfinger. the jinn (mousa kraish) from american gods. gaear grimsrud (peter stormare) from fargo. takeshi kovacs (joel kinnaman) from altered carbon. and i wanna be clear, it's these characters specifically, and generally NOT the actors outside of that specific role. except pedro ❤️

ethnicity: cuban

appearance: matt has more of an Energy than specific features to me rn. that energy is Warm. he has that Warm bro jock dude energy. kind of a marvel hero build, hunky and muscular. very rectangular face. has this haircut:

appearance: similar build to andrew, less confident and casual posture and body language. less apathetically murderous and more emotive expressions. better teeth bc his mom took him to the dentist. yes also bleaches his hair

celebrities: probably a lot like the difference between the characters and the actors. andrew is the characters and aaron is how the actors actually look. idk ive never looked at someone and thought 'hey! looks like aaron!'

6. Seth

ethnicity: have been going with half-vietnamese. considering looking into various south asian possibilities like pakistani

appearance: string bean build. that's all i have to offer

7. Allison

ethnicity: allison's very up in the air for me. she and seth are the two foxes i feel fine with being white, but im committing to having no white foxes sooo. i would say i generally see her as either half-middle eastern or chinese

appearance: plus sized and hourglass shaped. heart shaped face. taller, like 5'8 or 5'9. she has a pretty fraught history with her appearance and her parents payed for/pressured her into getting a nose job to have a 'prettier' nose. she also bleaches her hair blonde. she gets it done at a salon tho the twinyards do it in their bathroom

FC/Energy: elle king and nadia aboulhosn are my main inspos for her, esp body type but nadia esp in Vibes

8. Nicky

ethnicity: multi-ethnic. his mother is southern mexican Indigenous, possibly oaxacan. his father is mixed white/kayin

appearance: definitely takes after his mother while his father is white passing. dark brown skin, warm undertones. slightly stocky build. tall ovular head and thin aquiline nose. he's kind of just,, the opposite of the twins ig, so like their facial features look very different, which is a big part of why people don't make the connection between him and the twins alongside the difference in their skin tones, heights, and builds. nicky's build and features are very vertically-oriented, with a tall head, narrow-set eyes, thin nose with a high bridge, etc. the twins are horizontally-orienged, with broad, flat faces, wide-set eyes, wide noses with a low bridge, etc.

FC/Energy: yalitza aparicio, not a guy but one of the few Mexican Indigenous stars in the film industry and i really like her features for nicky. she's oaxacan

9. Renee

ethnicity: Black. african american

appearance: plus sized, circular/apple body shape. round face. dark skin. microlocs to a bit past her chin, bleached white and dyed at the ends. she and allison go to the salon together. femme but plain style, a lot of blouses and long skirts, practical shoes. knuckle callouses. about 5'6

FC/Energy: dominique fishback. tracie thoms, esp in RENT. gabourey sidibe. nicole byer, but not in Energy. brandy, for some reason, probably bc i think she has very serene Energy and is a little bit otherworldly. like if brandy played arwen or galadriel from lotr it would make perfect sense to me, and that's the Renee Energy™️

10. Neil

ethnicity: mixed. Black/Jewish on both sides. his father is polish ashkenazi and afro-brazilian. his mother is Black British and algerian jewish

appearance: very... sharp. like sharp all over. does that make sense? sharp features, sharp face shape, sharp angles to his body. he's got what i vaguely think of as a 'basketball build' not meaning tall but meaning very rangy and angular and lean. all limbs. seth has a similar build. lighter brown skin. he has waardenburg syndrome which is actually where he gets he gets his eye color, and his eyes are very large and widely spaced as well. freckles freckles freckles. freckles everywhere. 4a hair but at least during canon it's not very healthy and thus the curls aren't well-defined. he grows it out long enough to tie back and starts taking better care of it in post-canon. wonky, slightly crooked teeth, with a gap between the fronts

A/N: Hey guys so I got this idea in my head for an Angel X OC story and it kind of just took off. I hope you all enjoy as I’m really excited for this. Hopefully maybe this will help me out of the slump I found myself in. I am still working on all my other stories and hope to have at least a request and the next part of Perfect done this week. Work has also picked up for me and looks like I have a long week ahead of me so I also may not get everything I want done. Thank you all so much for everything and all the support. Angel sat at the picnic table outside of the clubhouse enjoying a quiet smoke alone. It was a fairly easy day at work with no club shit to occupy his mind. He also had not heard from Adelita all day so it seemed as if it was going to be a quiet night. He could use the break but at the same time he welcomed the noise. Part of the reason he took on so much was to keep his mind busy. It was in those quiet moments when his mind wondered too much, bringing with it the pain that always came when he thought about Juliet, when he thought about his wife.

It had been two years, five months, and three weeks since he had last seen her. It was a Friday morning. He had woken up with her in his arms like he always had, they had breakfast together, he gave her a kiss goodbye and told her how he couldn’t wait to see her that night. It was their three year anniversary. They were going to spend the evening together having a nice meal before heading to Vegas in the morning for a little get away.

It was all so normal, so perfect.

But then he ended up stuck on the other side of the border longer than he anticipated. He felt awful but she understood the club life and the responsibilities that came with it. He was sure she wouldn’t be upset. He left her a voicemail apologizing and promising to make it up to her and then rushed home as fast as he could.

When he got home everything seemed fine. The lights were off and the house just as he had left it. He assumed she had just gone to bed so he carefully and quietly made his way through the house to the bedroom and undressed before slipping under the covers expecting to find her there. He was going to pull her close and she was going to flip around and snuggle into his chest.

It’s what they always did.

But the bed was empty and she wasn’t there. He got up and searched the whole house but she was gone. Her purse was still hanging by the door, her car was in the driveway, all personal belongings were still there with no suitcases missing, and there was no damn note or signs of foul play.

It was as if she just vanished.

Some people said something horrible must have happened and other’s said she finally realized she deserved better than Angel and left him. Angel didn’t believe any of that. He held onto hope that she would come back, that all the searching would lead them to her, that they would find her. But they never did and eventually everyone else stopped looking, stopped hoping.

Maybe it was time for Angel to too.

“Hey, you ready to go to Pop’s?” EZ asked, stepping in front of Angel’s gaze.

Angel nodded getting up from his seat at the table. The brother’s tried to make it a point to go have lunch with Felipe at least once a week after EZ began prospecting for the club and the two had become busier.

Angel was thankful that EZ was out and had decided to stick around town. Despite all the resentment towards his younger brother he still loved him more than anything. It made him feel really good when EZ told him he wanted to prospect for the club, that he wanted to be a part of something that Angel was.

After everything that the Reyes family had been through it was just nice to have everyone together again.

The two pulled up in front of Carniceria Reyes backing their bikes up to the curb before turning the engines off and taking their helmets off. Angel stepped off his bike when he overheard the two women’s conversation across the street as they tried to act like they weren’t looking their way. He knew they were. Someone was always looking at him and his family like they were dirty, no good criminals.

“It’s honestly such a blessing Marisol isn’t around to see this and poor Felipe.” One of the women, probably in her fifties with a horrible Karen haircut said to her friend who looked almost like an exact copy of her as they sipped on their lattes outside the coffee shop. She was trying to keep her voice hushed as if that would matter. It didn’t, Angel already knew what so many people in this small town thought. “First his youngest kills that cop then Angel kills his wife, poor girl.”

There were the people who thought Juliet was dead and there were the people who thought she left him but worst of all were the people who thought Angel had killed her, like he would ever do that. He never once laid a hand on her and never would. She was his soulmate, the only woman he ever loved besides his mother. The fact that anyone thought he could do such a thing to her is what hurt the most, it’s what made him feel sick.

“Oh come on, you don’t know that.” Her friend said, trying to defend the boys. She had watched them grow up, they were good kids. Yes they were a part of the biker club now but that didn’t make them murderers. “Anything could have happened to her.”

Karen, or at least that’s what Angel was calling her sipped her coffee before meeting Angel’s eyes across the street. She looked away quickly ducking her head to respond to her friend. “Linda, everyone knows it’s always the spouse. There were no signs of foul play, no evidence. People don’t just up and vanish like that. He had to have done something to her and then buried her somewhere where no one would find her. People in those biker gangs do that shit all the time”

Angel clenched his jaw about ready to stomp over there when EZ grabbed his arm, keeping him back. “Don’t Angel. It’s not worth it.” He understood where his brother was coming from. He hated the looks he’d get around town and the ones his brother got too. People looked down on them and it fucking sucked but they couldn’t change their opinions on them. They knew what was true and that was all that mattered.

“We can't just let them get away with that, dragging our name through the mud and spreading their gossip. Someone has to set them straight EZ.” Angel kept his gaze on the woman across from them. He was sick of this, sick of the rumors. There was only so much he could take before he snapped again. Last time the fucker who wouldn’t shut up ended up in the hospital. “I can’t do this anymore. I didn’t fucking kill her.”

“I know, I know.” EZ tried to calm his brother down, to be the rational voice he needed. He wasn’t here for Angel when everything went down but he was going to have his brother’s back now. Angel met Juliet while EZ was in Stockton. EZ didn’t know her well but from the visits she would make and hearing about her he knew she was a great person. He also knew how much his brother loved her and how broken he was after her disappearance. “It doesn’t matter what they think. Everyone is always going to have an opinion on what happened. Just ignore them Angel.”

“It’s not that easy Ezekiel.” Angel snapped. He didn’t mean to take it out on his brother. “You don’t know what it’s like to have everyone look at you like you’re some fucking monster, to have to hear as people whisper all the horrible things you supposedly did to the one person who you loved more than anything. Yeah so you killed a fucking cop, a dirty cop at that. That’s not the same.” Maybe it was a low blow but EZ had no idea what Angel was going through. He couldn’t know what it was like to live with the constant reminder of that night, what it was like to have his whole relationship under a microscope like it was everybody’s business.

Angel sat in the small room staring past his reflection at whoever may be on the other side of the glass watching him. He had been in here for at least forty minutes. He was starting to get antsy as he tapped his rings against the table. Each moment wasted in here was a moment lost when he could be out looking for Juliet.

The door finally opened as an older gentleman with grey hair in a dark suit walked into the room. Angel sat back in his chair looking the man straight on. “Mr. Reyes, I’m detective Lawrence. I’ll be working the case on your wife Juliet Reyes.”

Lawrence took a seat across from Angel folding his hands on top of the table. “Now why don’t you tell me everything, starting from the beginning.”

“Look I’m willing to give you whatever the fuck you need to find my wife safe and alive but I don’t see why I’m here when I could be out there looking for her.” Angel said pointing to the door.

“Just have to follow up on all leads. The best way to find your wife is to start with you Mr. Reyes.”

“Angel.”

“Angel.” Lawrence corrected himself. “You knew her better than anyone right? So our best shot at finding her is you.” Lawrence gave him a forced smile. Angel Reyes had a record, was a known criminal and a member of the Mayans MC. Right now he was their number one suspect if foul play happened to be involved. “So start from the beginning Angel. Friday morning was your wife acting suspicious at all? Anything out of the ordinary?”

“No, everything was completely normal. We woke up, had breakfast like we always do and then I had to go to work early so I told her I loved her and would see her that night. She had about an hour left before work so she was going to finish grading some of her students' drawings before going in.” Juliet was a kindergarten teacher here in Santo Padre. She loved her job almost as much as she loved Angel.

“And that was the last time you saw her that day?”

“Yeah.”

“That night was your anniversary right? You said you had a trip planned for the weekend to celebrate?”

“Yes. We were going to have dinner at home and leave first thing in the morning.” Angel recalled. He was so excited to have a mini vacation with Juliet. They had been trying to get pregnant for a while and were hoping a relaxing vacation would be just what they needed with all the stress in their lives.

“But you didn’t make it home in time.” Lawrence sat back folding his hands in his lap. “Why was that?”

“I was working, ended up being later than I anticipated. I called her to let her know. Her cell went to voicemail.” Angel had called her when he got a moment alone to tell her he’d be running late. He didn’t want her to worry about him and felt terrible about being late. They had one rule. If he was going to be doing club shit then she needed to know where he was. She was a natural worrier. He never wanted to add to her worry so he promised he would inform her of everything so she never felt blindsided. “I left a message.”

“So it was your anniversary. How many years?”

“Three.” Angel was starting to get testy. He didn’t see what any of this had to do with anything.

“Three years,” Lawrence emphasized, “That’s a long time. Three years is a big deal and you bailed on her. You don’t think she’s just maybe upset? Maybe she left for your vacation herself or is with a friend.”

“She didn’t leave. She wouldn't just leave like that.” There was no way Juliet just left him. That wasn’t like her. Plus all her belongings were there. “Why would she leave without anything? Her fucking purse and everything was still at home. No,” Angel shook his head, “She wouldn’t just leave me like that. Trust me if she was upset with me she would have let me know.”

“Like on Thursday. We have a witness who says you and Juliet got into a little bit of a heated argument outside the school on her lunch break. What was that about?”

Angel chuckled bitterly. He couldn’t believe this was happening right now. He was already worn out enough with worry. Now this asshole was starting down a path he hoped he sure as hell wouldn’t. “If whoever your witness is thinks what we had was a heated argument” he knew who it was. It was Brenda he was sure. She never did like him and made it well known. “I don’t want to know what they think a fight is. We got into a minor disagreement. Nothing out of the ordinary for a married couple.” Yes things got a little heated that afternoon but they had made up that night. It was none of the assholes goddamn business.

Lawrence decided to let that slide, for now. “Okay so if she didn’t leave then what happened?”

“What else would have happened?!” Angel shouted, slamming his hands onto the table. He was over this now. “Someone must have grabbed her or something.”

“And who would do that?” Lawrence pressed him. Angel was starting to crack. If he was going to get a confession it would be soon. “Who and how? There were no signs of a struggle. You know what that tells me?”

“What?” Angel asked through clenched teeth squeezing his hands into fists.

“It tells me if something did happen to her, it was someone she knew, someone close to her. Someone who she shared everything with.” Lawrence leaned back onto the table towards Angel. “Someone she trusted, who she loved enough to marry.”

“What the fuck are you saying?” Angel’s chest started heaving as he did everything in his power to not deck this mother fucker right here and now. “You think I did something to her?”

“Statistically speaking it's usually the spouse. Maybe you came home, she was naturally upset, things got physical. You love her. I can see that.” He was just trying to get a reaction from Angel, anything that would make him slip up. “You didn’t mean to hurt her, it just happened.”

Angel wanted to lunge at him but instead he just stared him down never breaking the hold he had on his eyes. “I’ve never laid a fucking hand on my wife. Maybe you should look at her psychotic ex. You know the one she had to get a fucking restraining order against?”

“Mr. Reyes, we are following up on all leads. How about you let me do my damn job?” Lawrence barked back at him.

“Maybe I would if you were fucking doing it well. You’re wasting precious fucking time breathing down my neck when you could be out there, I could be out there!” Angel shouted, “Looking for my wife!”

“If you weren’t home then where exactly were you? Do you have an alibi Mr.Reyes?” Lawrence asked. Angel said he was working late but he knew the scrapyard wasn’t open that late. What else could he have possibly been doing so late? Sounded like a good excuse to Lawrence. “Where were you Angel?”

Angel couldn’t exactly say where he was or what he was doing without possibly incriminating himself and the club. They were on the other side of the border doing a drug run. That did not really provide a good alibi for Angel. Angel knew he was in a real fucking tight spot. “I want my lawyer.” He wasn’t going to give them any more, especially if they weren’t going to be helping him.

Angel sat at the table outside the Carniceria with Felipe and EZ enjoying their lunch. The sun was out only adding to the heat Santo Padre usually experienced. Angel finished his burrito wiping his mouth on his napkin and sitting back as he looked at the various shops across the street. Thankfully the two women decided to leave rather than watch the Reyes boys and their poor father.

Sometimes Angel really fucking hated living in a small town where everyone knew everyone.

“So EZ tells me you have a date tonight,” Felipe spoke, gaining Angel's attention.

“Yep,” Angel said. He didn’t really have much to say about it. Quite frankly he had debated bailing more than once but he wouldn’t do that to Sierra. Gwen, Juliet’s best friend and partner in crime had been trying to set him up for months now insisting that he should move on, that that’s what Juliet would want but he just never could. Now EZ had joined in with trying to play matchmaker. Eventually Angel gave in agreeing to one date but nothing more.

Sure he had been with other women, mostly just sex with the girls from Vicky’s but that was different. The sex was meaningless, a way to fill the empty void inside him, but an actual date that meant something more. Going on a date symbolized the start of something new, a future for him without Juliet. It felt like if he took this next step he’d be giving up on her and any hope that she was coming back.

But it has been two years now. Was it really so wrong for him to try to move on?

“How come you never dated after mom?” Angel asked Felipe. It was a question that had been on his mind, especially after he experienced a similar loss to his father.

“Your mother was the love of my life and still is,” Felipe told his boys. He didn’t often talk about Marisol to his sons. Even eight years later it was still hard but Angel needed to hear this. “It just never felt right but you’re still young Angel. You have the chance to start over, to have a family of your own. Juliet would want that for you.”

Everyone was constantly telling him what Juliet would want like they would know. The thing is they didn’t know. No one knew her like Angel did. They shared everything, told each other things they’d never tell another soul.

They were soulmates.

But maybe this time they were right. Maybe this was what she wanted.

Angel checked himself out in the full length mirror on the closet in his bedroom. He was wearing a green plaid button up and his best pair of black jeans. He felt weird standing here in his bedroom getting ready for a date with someone that wasn’t his wife. He didn’t know exactly how to feel but he knew this was the right time to start. He’d never feel completely ready. It was just something he had to do, to rip the band-aid off and get back out there.

“I always loved that shirt,” He could hear Juliet saying, could see her standing behind him in the mirror. “It’s okay baby. I’m gone and I’m not coming back. You deserve to be happy. I want you to be happy.” She smiled, the one that shined so brightly reaching all the way to her eyes, the one that always made him feel lighter.

This is what she would want.

He took a shaky breath, smiling as he fixed his hair up quickly. He would do it for her. He would do anything for her. With a spritz of his cologne he gave himself one last once over before heading out to the living room where his audience was waiting. “Well, how do I look?” He asked, holding his arms out.

“Like an ass in a green shirt,” EZ grinned from his spot on the couch. Angel flipped off his brother while Serena, Gwen’s five year old daughter whacked EZ on the arm.

“Hey you be nice to uncle Angel!” She shouted defending her favorite Uncle. Angel and Juliet were her godparents and spent a lot of time helping out as much as they could with Serena after her father bailed on her and Gwen. It wasn’t difficult, they both fell in love with the little girl instantly. The time they spent watching her grow up is what pushed them to start thinking about a family of their own. Angel only wished Juliet was here to see the sweet little girl Serena had grown into.

“Thanks princesa” Angel chuckled, leaning over and pulling her into a hug as she jumped off the couch and into his arms.

“I think you look beautiful.” She mumbled into him as she squeezed her little arms around his neck.

Once Serena pulled away from the embrace Angel stood up meeting Gwen’s smile. She stood up off the couch coming over to Angel and straightened out his shirt that her daughter had now wrinkled up. “The most beautiful man,” she teased, smoothing out the last of the wrinkles. “You look great Angel. This is going to be good for you.” She knew Angel had doubts about dating but he couldn’t go on like he was. She loved her best friend more than anything but Juliet wasn’t coming back. If she was alive out there somewhere she would have at least contacted Gwen somehow. That told her that chances were she wasn’t alive.

Angel became like family to her. She came to love him just as much as Juliet. They were family. After Juliet disappeared they became each other’s rock through the hard time. They both lost the most important person in their lives. It was good to have someone who could really relate to what they were going through.

“It’s time.” Gwen smiled up at him giving him a kiss on the cheek.

“You look good Angel.” EZ joined the three giving Angel a hug. They were all here for Angel. This was a big step he was taking. “Now you better get going before you are late. That wouldn’t look very good for your first date.”

“Right.” Angel nodded. He didn’t need to be late on his first date and he had one stop he had to make before he went. He gave them all a smile ruffling Serena’s hair before he headed for the door.

“Wait!” Serena called out chasing after him. Angel turned around taking the small tin she extended out to him. “They’re mints so your breath doesn’t smell icky with smoke.”

Angel shook his head chuckling. Serena was honest for sure and always made her displeasure with his smoking known. “Thank you.” He leaned over kissing her forehead before heading out.

On his way to his date at the bowling alley he stopped at the playground just a few blocks away from Santo Padre Elementary. Angel made his way over to the swing set on the far north side of the park. The park was one of three around town this one being the biggest one.

Angel took Juliet here for their first official date and after that night under the stars it became their spot. It was here where she first started letting her walls down around him. She came to Santo Padre to stay with Gwen after escaping her then husband, James.

That night she told him a little about James. From that day on Angel wanted to kill that asshole and swore to her and himself he would never treat her as such. With him she would always be safe. He only wished he was able to keep her safe as he had promised.

Angel sat on the swing he used to push her in twisting his wedding band around his finger. He smiled to himself remembering the carefree feeling being here together always brought. It was the little things between them. They didn’t have much but as long as they had each other they would be set for life.

“Fuck I miss you Jules.” Angel sighed, swinging lightly back and forth. “I miss you so fucking much. I’m lost without you. You were my everything. I’m not ready to let you go, not fully, but I have to do something. You’d want me to move on, right?” He looked up at the pink sky as the sun set. Sunset’s were always her favorite thing. Juliet loved sitting outside watching the colors of the sky change before the darkness took over and the stars began shining.

“I love you, mi amor,” he murmured as he slipped the band off his finger. “This isn’t goodbye, just see you later. You’ll always hold my heart but it’s time. It’s been long enough.” Angel ran his hand through his hair trying to calm the growing ache in his chest. “You aren’t going to come back, I know that. I just hope wherever you are you’re resting easy. We’ll meet again.” Angel brought the wedding ring to his lips giving it a kiss before he slipped it into the pocket of his kutte above his heart. “I can’t wait to see you again.”

The guy’s were all hanging around outside the clubhouse the next day towards the evening. They just got back from a short run and were enjoying a nice smoke and beer before heading home just enjoying each other’s company.

“So?” Gilly nudged Angel’s shoulder with his beer wiggling his eyebrows.

“So what?” Angel asked, giving him a look.

“How’d the date go?” They were all wondering how it went but were waiting for Angel to bring it up himself which so far he had yet to do.

“Alright,” Angel shrugged, taking a swig of his beer.

“Just alright?” Creeper asked from over at the picnic table. “That’s all we’re going to get?”

“What, you guys want to hear all the details like we’re a bunch of teenage girls at a slumber party?” Angel mocked them. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to share there just was not much to share. They hung out for a couple hours, talked a little and then said their goodbyes. There was no spark or anything making Angel want another one. At least not with her.

“Did you at least get good head or something?” Coco asked, leaning his back against the table. “I heard Sierra gives great fucking head.” He chuckled along with the others.

“What the fuck is wrong with you?” Angel laughed with them. “Why don’t you find out for yourself?”

“Really? Does that mean there’s not going to be a second date?”

“No second date.” Angel admitted. “We just didn’t click.” She just wasn’t Juliet. “She’s free game.”

“Well I’m proud of you hermano, for putting yourself back out there.” Coco said, raising his beer up in a toast to his brother. They all took a drink for Angel. It was a big step, one they thought he may never take. They were glad to see Angel at least trying.

“Fuck. Now that Angel’s back in the game we’re all going to have to step up our game.” Gilly commented.

“Like you had any game to begin with,” Angel teased, laughing with the guys.

Bishop came out of the clubhouse looking for Angel. He just got off the phone with one of their brothers from another charter with information that would change everything. He smiled watching the guys joke around and laugh. Working with the cartel added extra stress to the men. They didn’t have as many light moments as these.

“Angel,” Bishop called out from the top of the steps. “Can I have a moment?”

“Sure thing Prez,” Angel called back, releasing Gilly from the headlock he had him in now. He gave Gilly a pat on the back before following Bishop into the clubhouse and to Templo.

Bishop stood by Angel’s chair. “You might want to take a seat for this brother.” Bishop’s face was dead serious making Angel’s smile drop instantly. Angel did as was suggested as his mind began racing. His first thought was somehow Bishop found out about his deal with the rebels but then he figured he wouldn't be here if that was the case.

“What’s going on Bish?” Angel asked cautiously. Whatever it was he had a feeling it was not going to be good.

“I just got a call from one of our brothers in Arizona,” He started sitting down as well. “It’s about Juliet.” They had eyes out for her even after all these years. Until they had some solid evidence of what happened to her Bishop wasn’t going to give up. Juliet wasn’t just Angel’s wife but a part of the family. They all hurt when she went missing and they all felt for Angel and all the pain he endured the last two years. “Two hunters found her in Prescott National forest.”

Angel’s heart stopped. He knew this day would come eventually but he wasn’t ready for it so soon. He didn’t want to hear this. He didn’t want to believe it. Thinking she was dead and knowing were two very different things. With just thinking there was at least a sliver of hope that she could be alive and well out there. Angel stood up from his chair. He couldn’t hear this. “I can’t Bish.”

He went to leave when Bishop caught him by the arm. “She’s alive, Angel.”

Angel must have misheard. He turned back around, his face scrunched up. “What?”

“She’s alive. She’s in the hospital up there. I guess she took a bit of a tumble.” Bishop said recalling all the information he was given. “They are going to have a couple of the guys posted there until you get there.”

“She’s alive?” Angel still couldn’t believe it.

“She’s alive,” Bishop grinned, pulling Angel into a tight hug. Bishop pulled back holding the back of Angel’s head doing the best to keep his own tears at bay as the younger man’s tears fell off his lashes. “You go get your wife and you bring her home.”

In story mode do you ever wish you could have got more out of a character?

Like ok so, I absolutely love Sean. He’s my favourite NPC next Flaco and Kieran. And don’t get me wrong I loved his death, it was quick and over in a second. No sob story and you had to go into a gunfight so you don’t have time to dwell on it.

I just wish I could have seen more from him, he’s such a fun character, but in story mode I wish I had at least one more side quest/interaction with him. I would have liked it if I could meet him in Valintine’s saloon and you could get drunk with him. Like no side quest marker it’s just a random encounter you could stumble upon.

Kieran, I’ll admit I miss him. But I would have liked a side quest/random encounter where you could take him into valintine to get his hair and beard cut because no one trusts him to be let out of camp on his own. I think it would have made a player still dwelling on the ‘he was an O’Driscolls, still is’ mindest see that he isn’t such a bad guy. Or if you miss that encounter you could just have a horse race with him, I’d love to race against Branwen.

I understand with Flaco and online makes up for his lack in story mode so he gets a free pass from me. In online I’m glad you can do jobs for Sean, it just makes me miss his character so much more in story though. I do wish you could encounter Kieran in online though :[

bruh. I went off on this.... it’s long so I’ll add it all under the cut lmao

I agree with ALL of this, I would have loved more of those mini-missions, but It think R* could easily add a few more characters to online!! Kieran - You can meet him up in the O'Driscoll camp where we first find him in story. He's in the barn or whatever, and when you first stumble across him, he insists you get out of here because "this is O'Driscoll territory! y-you don't wanna get hurt, so go on, get goin'!" Kieran then realizes you're here for work, and says he can't pay much, but he can offer you a few jobs. He asks for hunting around the area, maybe there's wolves nearby that keep getting too close to the camp? he'll also ask for herb collecting missions, like collecting some burdock root for him because "I can't leave the camp, but you can! you mind gettin' some for me?" Charlotte & her husband - These two are in their home, maybe sitting on the porch when they see you approach. They greet you with a little bit of caution at first, but realize you're just another traveller who's looking to make some cash. They offer you jobs where you hunt around the area for them, maybe taking out some of the Murdfree Brood and rescuing their friends from them. Like Sadie&Jakey, one of them will be in the house at a time, and we'll get to see what their relationship was like before Charlottes husband passed. Albert and Marko - They can both have missions similar to how we see them in story mode. Albert asks you to protect him whilst he does photography, and Marko asks you to collect items here and there for his robot build. Shit, maybe Charles Chantenty could be found running around Saint Denis? and asks you to take out people he doesn't like? or steal art supplies for him? I'm also gonna add that I want MORE content for Marshal Davies. It would make sense if you randomly bump into him at the Sheriffs Office, and he explains that he switches between them to ensure the Sheriffs are all doing their job? It'd be nice to add mini cut scenes for the bounties, rather than just taking their poster off a board, so Marshal Davies could do that?! idk just gimme more of him!!!!!! We need a stranger at Manzanita Post, idc who it is, just give me a Manzanita stranger!! maybe Nils? and he gives you your missions on a slip of paper since all he can say is 'okay.' (oh and 'beechers hope?? okkayy...') Gavins friend? I'm surprised we don't see him walking around towns, but I guess it's because people would try and grief him cause they're arseholes. Anyway... story mode.... I'm REALLY surprised that R* didn't make it a thing where you can bump into other camp members out in the wild. Apparently you can sometimes see them riding about? but I've never had that pop up in my game... I'd also love to have drinks with them, or have a blip appear on my map to show they're in danger, to find that one of them has got into a bar fight looool As for your ideas of Kieran, YES. A lot of people don't even mourn Kieran because there's not much of him, and you don't see his character develop, not unless you hang around camp a lot. I think more people would have fallen for him if you 'helped him get back on his feet', so like you said, taken him out for a haircut and some new clothes, helped him build himself back up after being beaten down by the O'Driscolls. I think the women should have had more missions too. I'm surprised that Karen and Susan aren't brought out onto the odd heist, Karen especially seeing as shes so eager. It would have been nice to see more camp interactions with them, especially ones where maybe they're all playing with Jack, or ranking all the camp guys xD

There needs to be a filler encounter between Micah and Javier. I know we see them drinking together, but Javier suddenly trusts Micah enough in Chapter 6? I need more of Micah sucking up to him, along with most of the other camp members, as a lot of them just suddenly take his side when it all kicks off.

More of Bill and Javier, some nice camp interactions? or maybe we see them drinking at the Saloon and Javiers like "yeah Bill's an arse but he apologized so I'm giving him a second chance." Since Javier is find bailing Bills ass in RDR1, so I'd like to see how they got to that point.

It would have been nice if R* did decide to keep the camp member buddy thing, you know where you were able to pick somebody to come out into the open world with you? I think that would have helped show each camp members personality a LOT.
