Katniss is like Lucy Gray this, Katniss is like Sejanus that, and yes fine that's all good and true and lovely but Katniss Everdeen is also a direct parallel to Coriolanus Snow and people NEED to start talking about this because it's driving me crazy.
Think about it: they both grew up poor and deeply vulnerable, losing parents at a very young age, with a matriarchal adult (Katniss' mother and Coriolanus' Grandma'am) who fails to provide for them emotionally and physically. They intimately understand the threat of starvation, even developing with stunted growth because of it, and their narrations in the books share a fixation on food. Throughout their childhoods, both experienced constant fear and suffered a fundamental lack of control over their circumstances. Because of this, they're inherently suspicious of the people around them. They resent feeling indebted to others, especially those who have saved their lives. They're motivated almost entirely by family and deeply connected to their communities. Both are used and manipulated by the Capitol, both are forced to perform to survive and despise every inch of it, both are thrown into the Arena and made to kill. Both have a self-sacrificial, genuinely sweet sister figure acting as their conscience. Peeta and Lucy Gray - performers and love interests with a fundamental kindness and sense of hope about them - fulfill markedly similar roles in their narrative. Both contribute to the development of the future Hunger Games, Snow throughout tbosas and Katniss towards the end of Mockingjay.
It's easy to ignore these similarities because, as mirrors of each other, they are exact opposites. Katniss is from District 12, viewed and treated as less than human; Snow is the cream of the Capitol crop, given the privilege of a name with social weight, an ancestral home, and the opportunity of the Academy despite having no more money than a miner from 12. Katniss has no agency over her life, and responds by being kind whenever she's able, while Snow justifies horrendous evils in order to continue his quest for complete control. Katniss does everything she can to protect her family; Snow does everything he can to protect his family's image as an extension of his own ego. Katniss loves her District and connects with its inhabitants on a meaningful level, but Snow is indifferent at best to his peers - the apparent "superior people" - and only engages with his community for personal gain. Katniss emerges from the Arena horrified at herself and the system, but Snow takes his trauma and turns it into an excuse to perpetuate the violence with himself at the top. Katniss cares for Prim until her death and then snaps at the loss of her little sister, while Snow survives on Tigris' blood, sweat, and tears and then torments and abandons her, presumably because she calls him out on his insanity. Snow actively adds to and popularizes the Hunger Games because of his vendetta against the Districts following his childhood wartime trauma - Katniss briefly agrees to a new Hunger Games (which is arguably a facade to trick Coin), but later definitively stops them from happening by killing Coin and choosing a life of peace and privacy. Snow is obsessed with revenge, but Katniss empathizes with the Capitolites and does what she can to keep them from suffering. He exists in a cruel system and selfishly upholds it; she exists in a cruel system and works to dismantle it for the good of her family and community, at great personal cost. And Peeta and Lucy Gray are incredibly similar, but Katniss and Peeta forge a relationship of genuine love and understanding that shines in comparison to Coriolanus' obsessive projection onto Lucy Gray.
So, yeah, Katniss is Lucy Gray haunting Coriolanus. But I bet you anything that eighty-something year old President Snow looks at her, the girl on fire, and thinks that he sees the ghost of his own past: bright and young and brilliant, emerging from a childhood of starvation with a relentless hunger for success, a talented and charming performer helping her win the Games. And that's why he's so afraid of her! Because if he sees himself in her, then he's up against his own cunning, his own talent for manipulation, his own charisma, his own genius. He reads her wrong, obviously, but it means that in his mind he's up against the version of himself that he could have been, with the nightmare army of his childhood at her back and her star-crossed lover at her side, spewing Sejanus' truths in his own voice. This isn't to say that Katniss ever achieved the level of power and agency that Coriolanus did during her time with the rebellion, but it is to say that Snow was taken down by what truly terrified him - his own morality, come to finish the job.

Sunshine and Midnight Rain
Luke Castellan x Apollo kid!Reader
word count: 851
summary: Luke castellan and the daughter of apollos love story
a/n: “remember who the enemy is” IM TRYING
Luke Castellan held your heart since the day you met, and you held his.
You arrived at camp a few months after Luke. You were one of the lucky ones, claimed within an hour of being there. Your godly father is Apollo, god of poetry, the sun, music, narcissism, idiocy, stupidity, all that. You had assumed the gods would act superior to all, no matter if they were or weren’t. But Apollo was on a completely different level. You didn’t know why he had taken such a liking to you.
“You remind him of himself,” Your half sister, Kayla, had told you, “an archer who never misses, healer who fixes every wound, gifted singer, and somehow picked up the lyre in a day. And yet, you still ask why Apollo loves you the most?”
“I wish he wouldn’t,” you twirl the golden arrow he gifted you.
“y’know, that hermes boy has been staring since the moment you stepped foot here,” she smiles, nodding to the tan boy sitting on a picnic table.
“Great, more attention,” you keep your sights on the boy, lucas? Luca, maybe?
“His name’s luke castellan,” kayla says, ah luke, that’s it.
“He’s handsome,” you say matter of factly.
“Don’t trust those Hermes boys, all they do is lie,” Kayla leans back and rolls her eyes.
“It’s a good thing I play the lyre.”
——————
“You’ve got a great shot,” a deep voice says from behind you.
You’ve been at the range for around an hour, it’s 4:30, you always practice when no one else is around.
“The whole reason why I come out here this early is so i can be alone,” sure, it sounds mean but you swear you’re not trying to be.
“Sorry, once I see you it’s hard to look away,” you’re not looking at him but you can tell me has the biggest smirk on his face.
“Funny,” you tell him bluntly.
You set down your bow, keeping the arrow in your hand, and sit on the nearby grass. He lays down beside you, you follow his lead and put your hands behind your head.
“That arrow, it’s like it’s made of the sun,” He says amazed.
“A gift from dear old dad. No matter how far I shoot it’ll always come back. Supposed to be a sign of his love or something. But I think he just constantly wants me to be annoyed by him,” you inform him possibly too much.
“Most people would be grateful if their godly parent cares that much,” he says.
“It’s different with Apollo, there is no such thing as true altruism with him,” you bite your inner lip.
“I get that, I’m just tryna say- Hermes never showed up for me, and I'd kill to just have him tell me he cares,” His eyes furrow.
“Guess we both have different priorities,” you smile.
“Opposites work best don’t they?” He smiles back.
“Isn’t it opposites attract?” You wonder.
“Hey, your words, not mine,” he laughs.
“That one’s Orion,” You point up at the constellation.
“He was always my favorite,” he adds.
“Mine has always been Cassiopeia, but you can never see her over here,” You look back up at the sky.
“That one’s Taurus, and then Sirius below, and Gemini above,” you point each of them out.
Even though he hums in acknowledgment his eyes are locked on you.
“You’re staring, again” You mention.
“I told you I can’t help it, especially when you glow like that,” he reaches out and touches your face.
You reach out and grab his hand, running your fingers against his slender digits.
“I’d like to be a constellation when I die, maybe my father will fulfill that wish,” you say to him.
“That’ll be my last wish too, we can lay in the stars together.”
——————
It’s been a day since Percy Jackson came to Camp Half-blood. It just so happens to be your favorite day of the year, capture the flag. You have led the archers on the blue team for years, you’d say you’re doing well for what you’re given. Besides your siblings in Apollo the rest of the kids weren’t as gifted in archery.
As the first conch shell blew you were preparing for your mock-battle. Annabeth in charge of the plan and Percy, Luke with company, and you with the archers. You knew you could, no- would win. The archers took the trees, helping stray company from the skies.
“Today feels like a winning kind of day?” Annabeth asks luke.
“I’ll see you on the other side,” He smiles.
“Luke!” You pull him aside for a moment.
You cup his face the best you can through his armor. “You don’t get hurt okay? I don’t feel like healing anymore wounds from you. Understand?”
“Oh but I love to see you healing” he holds your hand and smirks
“Archers! Move out!” You call your team, eyes still locked with his, smiling.
“so… you and her?” Percy asks the taller boy.
“how could I not? She's perfect. I mean, I genuinely believe I could live without the sun if I just had her.”
And maybe, just maybe, he could.

2025 : #26 the art of being elegant because it's a beauty that never fades
[ maybe the longest blog I ever made but it worth reading ]

☆ ★ The introduction : why this matters more than anything
You know that feeling when someone walks into a room and everyone just naturally gravitates toward them? They're not necessarily the most conventionally beautiful person there, they're not the loudest, they're not trying the hardest ect ect.. but there's something absolutely magnetic about their presence. People describe them as "She's just so elegant and graceful" or "there's something special about her." That's what we're after here , this is about developing a presence so genuinely confident and warm that even when people disagree with you, criticize you, or try to bring you down, they still can't help but respect u . ur elegance becomes like armor it protects you from negativity while drawing in all the right energy and people ! This kind of elegance is completely accessible to everyooooone it doesn't matter what you look like, how much money you have, where you come from or what you're wearing.... It's about cultivating something from within that radiates outward and touches everyone around you. It's the ultimate glow-up because it's permanent and it grows stronger with time. And it can be the thing that can CHANGE UR LIFE AND ENERGY! ✒️
Part 1: Understanding what elegance actually is (and what It's not)
Before we dive into the how, we need to get crystal CLEAR on what we're actually talking about because there's so much confusion around this word. Elegance has been twisted and misunderstood, especially in our current culture where everything is about being the most dramatic, or the most "extra." y'know ?
What elegance is not :
Elegance is absolutely NOT about being a pick-me girl. If you're putting down other women to make yourself seem more sophisticated or special, that's the complete opposite of elegant. True elegance lifts others up It's not about competing with other women or acting like you're "not like other girls." (Bruuuuuh ) that's insecurity dressed up as superiority, and it's transparent as hell. Elegance is also not about being fake humble or constantly fishing for compliments. You know those people who are always saying "I look terrible today" or "I'm so stupid" just to get people to disagree with them? That's exhausting and manipulative, not elegant girlie. Real elegance means being comfortable with yourself your strengths AND your flaws without needing constant validation from others. It's not about being a doormat either cuz some people think being elegant means never disagreeing with anyone or always being "nice" to the point of having no personality . That's not elegance, that's people-pleasing, and it's actually really unattractive because it's not authentic hear me out . Elegant women have opinions, boundaries, and backbone. The difference is in HOW they express these things and ofc it's definitely not about being perfect or never making mistakes. Perfect people are boring and unrelateable. Elegant people are human they mess up, they have bad days, they make wrong choices sometimes. The elegance comes in how they handle these imperfections with grace and learn from them without drama , please it's not about putting on airs or acting superior to others. If you're changing your voice to sound more "refined" or name-dropping to seem impressive, you're missing the point entirely. True elegance is unpretentious it's about being genuinely yourself, just the best, most polished version of yourself.
what true elegance actually is:
Real elegance is quiet confidence. It's that deep inner knowing of your own worth that doesn't need to announce itself or prove anything to anyone. When you're truly elegant, you're not looking around the room wondering what people think of u , you're genuinely focused on connecting with others and making them feel comfortable and valued.Elegance is grace under pressure. It's staying calm when everyone else is losing their minds, speaking softly when others are yelling, and maintaining your composure even when you're being attacked or criticized. This doesn't mean being emotionless or robotic it means having mastery over your reactions and choosing your responses thoughtfully.Elegance It's is consistency , u're the same person whether you're talking to a CEO or the janitor whether you're having a good day or a terrible one, whether you're with your closest friends or meeting someone new. This consistency comes from having a strong sense of self and clear values that guide your behavior in all situations.
☆ ★ Part 2: building ur inner foundation | the source
u cannot fake elegance. u can learn the mannerisms, copy the style, memorize the etiquette rules, but if you don't have the inner foundation, it will always feel forced and people will sense it. Real elegance starts from the inside and radiates outward.
Developing unshakeable self-worth:
The foundation of elegance is knowing ur worth without needing external validation. This is probably the hardest part because we live in a world that's constantly telling us we're not enough not pretty enough, not smart enough, not successful enough, not anything enough. But elegant women have done the inner work to separate their self-worth from other people's opinions.
☆ This starts with really understanding your own values and living by them consistently. What matters to you? What kind of person do you want to be? What are you willing to stand for, even when it's unpopular? When you have clear answers to these questions and you live by them, you develop an inner compass that guides you through any situation.
☆ You also need to make peace with your flaws and imperfections. This doesn't mean settling or not trying to improve , it means accepting that you're human and that your worth isn't dependent on being perfect. When you can acknowledge your mistakes without shame, laugh at yourself when you do something silly, and accept criticism without getting defensive, you're operating from a place of security rather than insecurity.
☆ Practice self-compassion the same way you would show compassion to a good friend. When you mess up, don't beat yourself up for days. Learn from it and move on giiiirl . When you're having a bad day, don't pretend everything is fine, but don't make it everyone else's problem either. Treat yourself with the same kindness you'd show someone you care about.
Emotional maturity and regulation:
Elegance requires emotional intelligence, the ability to understand and manage your own emotions while being attuned to others' feelings. This is what allows you to stay graceful under pressure and respond rather than react to difficult situations.
☆ Start paying attention to your emotional triggers. What makes you defensive? What makes you angry? What makes you insecure? Once you identify these patterns, you can start to catch yourself before you react poorly. Take a breath nd choose ur response instead of being controlled by your immediate emotional reaction.
☆ Learn to sit with uncomfortable emotions instead of immediately acting on them. If someone says something that hurts your feelings, you don't have to respond right away. You can feel the hurt, process it, and then decide how you want to address it. This space between stimulus and response is where elegance lives.
☆ Develop empathy for others, even when they're being difficult. Most people who are rude or aggressive are dealing with their own pain or insecurity. This doesn't mean you have to tolerate mistreatment, but understanding this helps you not take things personally and respond with grace instead of matching their energy.
Continuous growth and learning:
Elegant women are always growing and learning. They're curious about the world, interested in different perspectives, and committed to becoming better versions of themselves. This intellectual curiosity and growth mindset is incredibly attractive and keeps you interesting and engaged with life.
☆ Read books, not just for entertainment but for knowledge and perspective. Learn about different cultures, historical periods, scientific discoveries, philosophical ideas. You don't need to become an expert in everything but having a broad base of knowledge makes you a more interesting conversationalist and gives you context for understanding the world.
☆ Develop deep expertise in at least one area that you're passionate about. Whether it's art, cooking, music, business, social causes, or anything else, having something you're genuinely passionate about and knowledgeable about makes you more interesting and gives you confidence in at least one area of your life.
☆ Be open to feedback and willing to change your mind when presented with new information. Elegant people aren't so attached to being right that they can't admit when they're wrong. They see learning and growth as more important than protecting their ego.
Part 3: ur physical presence | the foundation of first impressions
People form judgments about you within seconds of seeing you, before you even open your mouth. it's reality ikr even that we say it's unfair. ur physical presence communicates volumes about your confidence, your self-respect, and your attention to detail. The good news is that you have complete control over this aspect of elegance.
Mastering ur posture:
Good posture is literally the backbone of elegance, and it's something you can start improving immediately. Poor posture doesn't just make you look less confident it actually makes you FEEL less confident. There's real science behind the fact that how you hold your body affects your mental state.
Here's how to find your proper posture:
ㅤ۪ㅤ۫ ꪆ୧ㅤFirst of all I recommend yuuka sagawa on ytb she has the best back / posture workout ! 🪽
☆ Stand against a wall with your back flat against it. Your head, shoulders, and butt should all touch the wall. Your feet should be about six inches away from the wall. This is what proper alignment feels like. Your ears should be directly over your shoulders, your shoulders over your hips, your hips over your knees, and your knees over your ankles.
☆ Now, imagine a string attached to the crown of your head, gently pulling you upward. Your shoulders should be back but relaxed - not tense and pulled up toward your ears. Your chest should be open and lifted slightly. Your core should be gently engaged to support your spine. This might feel weird at first if you're used to slouching, but it will become natural with practice.
☆ When you walk, lead with your chest, not your head. Many people walk with their head jutting forward, especially if they're looking at their phone a lot. This makes you look like you're constantly in a hurry or anxious. Instead, keep your head balanced over your shoulders and let your chest lead the way forward.
☆ Practice this everywhere : walking to class, sitting at your desk, standing in line. Set reminders on your phone if you need to. After a few weeks of conscious practice, good posture will become automatic n you'll notice how differently people respond to you.
Your facial expressions and smile:
Your face is the first thing people notice about you, and your facial expressions communicate so much about your inner state. You don't need to have a perfect smile or flawless features to have an elegant presence you just need to be mindful of what your face is communicating.
☆ First let's talk about resting face. We've all heard of "resting bitch face" but the truth is most people's neutral expression looks somewhat unfriendly or unapproachable. This isn't your fault it's just how faces work. But you can make small adjustments that make a huge difference in how approachable you seem.
☆ Keep your facial muscles relaxed, not tense. A lot of people hold tension in their jaw, around their eyes, or in their forehead without realizing it. Do a quick mental check throughout the day are you clenching your jaw? Furrowing your brow? Squinting? Consciously relax these muscles.
☆ Let your eyes be soft and alert like you're genuinely interested in what's happening around you. Hard squinty eyes make you look angry or judgmental, even if you're not. Practice "soft eyes" in the mirror it's a subtle difference, but it makes you look much more approachable and kind.
☆ Now, about smiling this is where a lot of people go wrong. A fake smile is worse than no smile at all because people can tell the difference, even if they can't articulate why. A real smile engages your whole face, not just your mouth. Your eyes crinkle slightly, your cheeks lift, and there's a warmth that's impossible to fake.
☆ Practice your genuine smile in the mirror. Think about something that makes you truly happy a person you love, a funny memory, a goal you're excited about. Watch how your whole face changes. This is the smile you want to access when you're meeting new people or in social situations.
☆ Don't feel like you need to smile constantly that's exhausting and comes across as insincere. But when you do smile make it count. A genuine smile at the right moment can completely change the energy of an interaction.
How u move through space:
The way you move communicates confidence, grace and seeeeelf-awareness. Elegant people move with purpose but not panic, with awareness but not self-consciousness.
☆ Don't rush everywhere like you're constantly late or anxious. Even when you are running late, try to maintain a sense of calm urgency rather than frantic energy. People can feel your energy before you even speak, and frantic energy is contagious and unpleasant.
☆ Move with intention. This means being aware of your body and how you're occupying space. When you sit down, do it gracefully don't just collapse into the chair. When you stand up do it smoothly. When you walk be aware of your gait and rhythm.
☆ Pay attention to your gestures when you speak. Elegant people use their hands to emphasize points, but their gestures are controlled and purposeful, not wild and distracting. Keep your gestures within the frame of your body don't wave your arms around too much.
☆ Be aware of your personal space and others Don't stand too close to people (unless you're in a loud environment where you need to), but don't stand so far away that you seem distant or uncomfortable. Find that sweet spot where people feel comfortable and engaged.
ur voice and how u speak:
Your voice is an incredibly powerful tool that most people completely underutilize. The way you speak communicates confidence, intelligence, and thoughtfulness or the opposite.
☆ Slow down your speech. Most people talk too fast, especially when they're nervous or excited. Speaking too quickly makes you seem anxious and makes it harder for people to understand and connect with what you're saying. Practice speaking at about 75% of your normal speed it will feel slow to you, but it will sound perfect to others.
☆ Use pauses effectively don't be afraid of silence in conversation. Pausing before you answer a question makes you seem thoughtful and considered. Pausing after you make an important point gives it weight and allows it to sink in.
☆ Work on your articulation : u don't need to sound like a news anchor, but mumbling or slurring your words makes you seem less intelligent and less confident than you are. Practice speaking clearly especially with the endings of words.
Part 4: the art of elegant communication
Communication is where elegance really shines. Anyone can learn to stand up straight or speak clearly, but elegant communication comes from a deeper place of confidence, empathy, and social intelligence. This is what separates truly elegant people from those who are just going through the motions.
The Power of listening:
become an exceptional listener !!?!!!! . Most people are terrible listeners because they're too busy thinking about what they want to say next. But when you truly listen to someone not just hearing their words, but understanding their meaning and emotions u give them a gift that's increasingly rare.
☆ When someone is speaking to you, give them your full attention. Put your phone away, turn your body toward them, make appropriate eye contact, and focus completely on what they're saying. Don't interrupt, don't finish their sentences, and don't start formulating your response while they're still talking.
☆ Ask follow-up questions that show you were paying attention. If someone tells you about a job interview they had for ex , emember to ask about it the next time you see them. If they mention a hobby or interest, ask them what they love about it. These small acts of attention make people feel valued and important.
☆ Learn to read between the lines. Often, what people don't say is just as important as what they do say. Pay attention to body language, tone of voice, and emotional undertones. Someone might say they're "fine" but their body language suggests otherwise. Elegant people are attuned to these subtleties and respond appropriately.
Speaking with purpose and grace:
When you do speak, make it count. Elegant people don't talk just to fill silence or to hear themselves speak. They speak with intention and purpose.
☆ Think before you speak read it again . especially about important or sensitive topics. It's okay to pause and collect your thoughts before responding to a question or comment. This makes you seem thoughtful and considered, not slow or uncertain.
☆ Choose your words carefully. You don't need to use fancy vocabulary but be precise in your language. Say what you mean and mean what you say.
☆ When you need to disagree with someone, do it gracefully. Instead of saying "You're wrong" or "That's stupid," try something like "I see it differently" or "My experience has been different." You're not backing down from your position, but you're not attacking the other person either.
☆ Learn to give compliments that are genuine and specific. Instead of just saying "You look nice," try something like "That color really brings out your eyes" or "You always know how to put together the perfect outfit." Specific compliments show that you're really paying attention and they mean more to the recipient. And we are girrrls cmooooon
Handling difficult conversations:
This is where true elegance really shows itself how you handle conflict, criticism, and difficult situations. Anyone can be graceful when everything is going well, but elegant people maintain their composure even under pressure.
☆ When someone is being rude or aggressive toward you, your first instinct might be to match their energy or get defensive. But elegance means staying calm and responding from a place of strength, not reaction. Take a deep breath, pause, and then respond in a way that reflects your values, not their behavior.
☆ You can set boundaries without being mean about it. If someone is speaking to you disrespectfully, you can say something like "I'd like to continue this conversation, but I need you to speak to me respectfully" or "I don't appreciate being spoken to that way." You're standing up for yourself without stooping to their level.
☆ When you make a mistake or someone calls you out on something handle it with grace. Don't make excuses, don't blame others, and don't get defensive. Simply say "You're right, I made a mistake" or "I apologize, that wasn't appropriate." Then fix the problem and move on. People respect this kind of accountability.
☆ If someone is trying to provoke you or start drama don't take the baaaaait. You can acknowledge what they're saying without engaging with the drama. Something like "I can see you're upset" or "I understand you feel that way" shows that you heard them without agreeing to participate in the conflict. U will kll them ! That's what I do actually
Part 5: Your daily Habits and lifestyle
Elegance isn't something you turn on and off it's a way of being that's reflected in how you live your daily life. The small, everyday choices and habits you develop are what create that consistent, authentic elegance that people notice and admire.
Creating structure and intention in ur days:
Elegant people don't just drift through life they live with intention and purpose. This doesn't mean every moment has to be scheduled or that you can't be spontaneous that's a bad habit ! but it means having a sense of direction and making conscious choices about how you spend your time and energy.
☆ Start each day with some kind of intention-setting. This could be as simple as taking five minutes when you wake up to think about what you want to accomplish and how you want to show up in the world that day. What kind of energy do you want to bring to your interactions? What priorities do you want to focus on?
☆ Create routines that support the person you want to be. This might include a morning routine that helps you feel centered and prepared for the day, an evening routine that helps you wind down and reflect, or weekly routines that keep your life organized and on track it's up to u !
☆ Be intentional about how you spend your time. This doesn't mean you can't relax or have fun, but it means making conscious choices rather than just defaulting to whatever is easiest or most immediately gratifying. Ask yourself: Is this activity aligned with my values and goals? Is it contributing to the person I want to become?
Taking care of ur environment:
Your environment reflects and affects your inner state. Elegant people tend to keep their spaces clean, organized, and thoughtfully arranged because they understand that their surroundings impact their mood and mindset.
☆ Keep your living space tidy and organized. This doesn't mean it has to be perfect all the time, but it should be a space that feels calm and intentional rather than chaotic and cluttered. Make your bed every morning it's a simple act that sets a tone of care and attention for the day.
☆ Pay attention to details in your environment. Fresh flowers, clean sheets, good lighting, and pleasant scents all contribute to a sense of elegance and care. You don't need to spend a lot of money on this even just keeping your space clean and adding a few thoughtful touches can make a big difference.
☆ Be respectful of shared spaces and other people's belongings. Clean up after yourself, put things back where they belong, and treat other people's homes and belongings with care. This shows consideration and respect for others.
How u treat others in daily interactions:
Elegance shows up most clearly in how you treat people in everyday situations : the server at a restaurant, the cashier at the store, your classmates, your family members. These interactions reveal your true character.
☆ Treat everyone with the same basic level of respect and kindness, regardless of their position or what they can do for you. Say please and thank you consistently. Make eye contact and smile when appropriate. Remember that everyone you interact with is a human being deserving of dignity.
☆ Be punctual and reliable. If you say you're going to be somewhere at a certain time, be there. If you commit to doing something, follow through. If something comes up and you need to change plans, give people as much notice as possible. Ur word should mean something.
☆ Help others when you can without making a big show of it. Hold doors open, offer to carry heavy things, check in on friends who are going through difficult times. Do these things because it's the right thing to do, not because you want recognition or praise.
☆ Be gracious in receiving help and compliments. When someone does something nice for you, thank them genuinely. When someone compliments you, accept it gracefully instead of deflecting or putting yourself down. Like "no I'm not that pretty" wtf c'mon 💀💀
Managing ur energy and emotions:
Elegant people are skilled at managing their own energy and emotions so they can show up as their best selves consistently. This doesn't mean being fake or suppressing your feelings, but it means being responsible for your emotional state and its impact on others.
☆ Pay attention to what affects your mood and energy levels. Are there certain people, activities, or situations that consistently drain you or bring out the worst in you? While you can't always avoid these things, you can prepare for them and develop strategies for managing them.
☆ Develop healthy ways to process difficult emotions. This might include journaling, exercise, meditation, talking to a trusted friend, or creative expression. Find what works for you and use these tools regularly, not just when you're in crisis.
☆ Don't make your bad days everyone else's problem. It's okay to have off days : everyone does. But elegant people don't take their bad moods out on others or expect everyone around them to cater to their emotional state. If you're having a rough day, it's okay to say so, but take responsibility for managing your emotions.
☆ Create boundaries around your time and energy. You don't have to say yes to every request or invitation. It's okay to prioritize your own needs and well-being. In fact, taking good care of yourself enables u to show up better for others.
Part 6: The deeper aspects | grace under pressure and timeless wisdom
Handling criticism :
☆ Don't take things personally, even when they're meant personally. Most of the time, when someone is being rude or cruel, it says more about them and their inner state than it does about you. This understanding helps you respond with compassion rather than anger.
☆ Stand up for yourself and others without being aggressive or mean. You can be firm and clear about your boundaries while still treating others with respect. You can defend yourself or someone else without attacking the other person's character.
☆ Choose your battles wisely. Not every slight needs to be addressed, not every argument needs to be won. Sometimes the most elegant response is to simply not engage with negativity or drama as I said before
The ripple effect of true elegance:
☆ When you embody true elegance, it has a positive impact that extends far beyond yourself. You become someone who elevates the energy of every room you enter, who makes others feel better about themselves, who inspires others to be their best selves.
☆ You create a safe space for others to be authentic and vulnerable. When people are around someone who is genuinely elegant, they feel permission to let their guard down and be real because they trust that they won't be judged or attacked.
☆ You model what's possible In a world that often seems to reward the loudest, most dramatic, or most aggressive behavior, you show that there's another way to be powerful through grace, kindness, and quiet confidence.
☆ You contribute to a more civil and beautiful world. Every interaction you have with grace and kindness makes the world a little bit better. You're part of the solution to the coarseness and negativity that seems to be everywhere.
finally why this never goes out of style
ㅤ۪ㅤ۫ ꪆ୧ㅤElegance never goes out of style because it's based on timeless human values and qualities that people have always been drawn to and always will be. Trends come and go. Fashion changes. What's considered cool or popular shifts constantly. But kindness, grace, confidence, integrity, and the ability to make others feel valued these qualities have been attractive for thousands of years and will continue to be attractive for thousands more.
ㅤ۪ㅤ۫ ꪆ୧ㅤWhen you develop true elegance, you're investing in something that will serve you for your entire life. It will help you in your relationships, your career, your personal growth, and your overall happiness. It's a gift you give yourself that keeps giving returns. And perhaps most importantly, true elegance is contagious. When you embody these qualities, you inspire others to do the same. You become part of raising the standard for how people treat each other and move through the world.
So commit to this journey. It's not always easy, and you won't be perfect at it, but it's absolutely worth it. Start where you are with what you have, and take it one day at a time. The world needs more truly elegant people and you can be one of them. Have a lucky Vicky daaay

SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 5 OF TADC.
Hey everyone! It took me a bit of time to process what happened and piece together a possible timeline of events.
In this post, I’m mostly talking about Jax, but I’ll touch on other characters too, because everyone is always connected.
We’re breaking down episode 5 - and how it even got to this point.

What do we know?
From the flashback and Ragatha’s words, it’s clear: Jax used to have a friend. Thanks to Gooseworx, we know his name - Ribbit.

Most likely, Jax, Ribbit, and Ragatha were close. And it seems like Jax trusted Ribbit, until he abstracted.
After that, everything changes.
Jax’s emotional reaction: He starts acting like he doesn’t care.
Classic avoidant attachment:
“If I trust someone, they’ll disappear - and I’ll be hurt again.”
From this comes a mindset: better to be a jerk than to be vulnerable. He shuts down, distances himself, becomes snarky and mocking - building a persona opposite of the Raghata “good guy.”
That’s when his bond with Ragatha starts to fall apart too. Not an open conflict, but a buildup of resentment and guilt.
Ragatha chooses the “be nice” path - helping, caring, saving. This has become her way of coping with grief. Taking care of everyone to prevent this from happening again. Jax goes the opposite way - he’s biting, aggressive, and openly indifferent.
Enter Pomni
And this is where it gets interesting.
If Jax believes “don’t get attached or you’ll suffer,” why does he suddenly get close to Pomni?

Because he can’t stand being completely alone. He denies his need for connection, but it’s still alive. (NOT in a romantic way!)
And here’s Pomni. New. Vulnerable. Untangled from their old trauma. It’s easier with her. She doesn’t know Ragatha, or the rest of the circus.
He gravitates toward her - and instantly hates himself for it. As soon as Jax feels himself opening up, he runs to a joke.

But how does Ragata cope with this?
He starts “playing” the friend around Pomni in front of Ragatha.

Not because he wants to be nice. But because there’s an unresolved issue.
He still hasn’t forgiven Ragatha for what happened with Ribbit. Maybe he blames her. Maybe himself.
Maybe both. But the pain is still there.
Pomni becomes the battlefield. Jax says “I’m her friend” - not for Pomni, but for Ragatha.
He wants to show: “My way is better. I’m honest, not pretending to be nice. And people still get close to me.” Unlike Ragatha, who he sees as fake.
And here’s the kicker: Pomni was originally going to be a frog - just like Ribbit.

She becomes a symbolic replacement.
Whether consciously or not — Jax repeats the same path.
Only this time, he wants to win. He wants it to work out. He wants Ragatha to see: look, I can do it, without your ‘niceness’.
But he’s still afraid. So he keeps playing the game. This isn’t a fight for friendship - it’s a fight for moral superiority.
He’s competing with Ragatha. Not because she’s an enemy. But because they’re two sides of the same coin.
She hides anger behind a smile. He hides care behind sarcasm.
And when he says in front of her: “Pomni and I are friends!” - he wants to shatter her perfect image. Make her feel what it’s like to be left out.
The way he once felt with Ribbit. It’s a toxic dynamic. And Pomni - isn’t the goal, she’s the tool.
She ends up between two “parents” pulling her in opposite directions.
And it’s awful. But she’s not to blame.

This is a buried, unresolved conflict between Jax and Ragatha.
Why don’t they just talk?
Because to talk - you have to be vulnerable. And that’s what Jax is afraid of.
He’d have to admit: “I care.”
And that means tearing off the mask. Admitting weakness. He’s not ready. So instead of a conversation - we get theater. And in between - Pomni, who never asked to be part of this.
That’s about it!
If you have your own thoughts on this, I’d love to hear them! I’ll be breaking down a bunch of smaller (and not-so-small) moments from this episode later. But this felt like the most important one for now.
Thanks for reading! 💜

ego destruction

sae x gn!reader -> +18
synopsis: sae has been treating you badly, so you decide its time for you to teach him a lesson
warnings: mdni, nsfw, sexual content, mature language, begging, metaphorical degradation?, punishment?, might have grammatical errors
tags: bottom!sae x top!reader, no genitalia mention, not too explicit, sae being sae
a/n: my first time doing nsfw, forgive me if its bad 😓
There was Sae, sitting on the edge of the couch, scrolling through his phone with an impatient flick of his wrist. You, perched on the opposite side of the couch, observed him, your jaw clenching. It had been weeks of this – the short and dry answers, the constant air of superiority.
You were both working on a new project for your house backyard, something that had turn into a frustrating dance of Sae’s dismissive nature. He treated you more like an underling than an equal, his words sharp and clipped, making you feel like you were constantly walking on eggshells.
Tonight, something snapped. You had spent hours perfecting a piece of the project, pouring your heart into it, only for Sae to glance at it dismissively and declare it “ugly.” No explanation, no constructive criticism, just a flat-out rejection that had your blood boiling.
You stood up, the movement sudden enough to make Sae briefly look up from his phone, his brow furrowing slightly. - "Do you need something?" - He asked, his tone dripping with the air of someone interrupted in the middle of something important.
"Yes, Sae," - You responded, your voice low and dangerously calm. - "I need you to stop acting like an arrogant bitch."
Sae’s eyes widened for a fraction of a second, the shock quickly replaced by a mask of icy displeasure. - “Excuse me?” - He said.
You walked towards him, and when you reached him, you didn't stop, instead, you pulled him up so abruptly that he stumbled, his phone falling to the floor with a soft thud. His eyes blazed with anger, but you didn't give him time to speak.
They pushed him backwards, forcing him onto the couch, your knee pinning him down. Sae gasped, not in fear, but in furious disbelief. - "What do you think you're doing?" - He growled, his fingers clenching on your arm.
You ignored him. Leaned down, your breath ghosting across his cheek, eyes locked on his. - "You've been treating me like shit, Sae." - You whispered, the soft tone a contrast to the violence of your actions. - "I'm done with it."
You put his hands on top of his head, and with a swift movement, began undoing his belt. Sae’s eyes were wide now, the anger slowly morphing into an unnerving mix of shock and something else...
You peeled his trousers down, your gaze never leaving his eyes. The air in the living room crackled with tension, the silence broken only by your ragged breathing. You didn't need to say anything. Sae understood. He understood with a visceral jolt, the way you meant to take him apart, piece by piece, until nothing remained of his carefully constructed ego.
And then, you were inside him, pushing deep, the initial shock giving way to a building wave of raw, primal sensation. Sae’s hand gripped your shoulder, knuckles white. He fought back, wanting to assert control, to reclaim the dominant position, but you didn't let him.
He started panting, the sounds escaping his throat. He tried to deny what was happening, tried to push them away, but there was a weakness growing within him, a surrender he desperately fought against. He was loving it.
You pushed further, forcing him to acknowledge that, at that moment, you were the one in control, and he felt vulnerable beacause of it. His grip on your shoulder loosened, his head falling back, his lips parted in a moan. The words he'd never say, the admissions he was so stubbornly withholding, were forced out of him with every breath.
"Please... please…" he begged, his voice rough and broken, the arrogance gone replaced by a desperate pleading. His eyes, usually so cold and distant, were wide with a mixture of shock and pleasure. "Don’t…don’t stop. Please…"
You broke him, his ego was shattered, the carefully constructed wall around his heart crumbled. Underneath his hard exterior, there was need, a raw desperation that he couldn’t hide anymore.
You continued, penetrating him relentlessly, your eyes admiring Sae’s face, watching as every layer of his pride was stripped away, leaving behind a vulnerable man. And as you two reached your climaxes, you couldn't help but feel a sense of wicked satisfaction.
The cold, arrogant man was gone, replaced by a broken, pleading mess. It was only then that you understood: Sae’s pride wasn't just a shield; it was a challenge. And you had just won.

What’s your thoughts on idw silver, I personally think he is ok but I feel like the idw comic didn’t really do very well with his character.
I can't say I like him... at all.
American Sonic media already has a history of needless and quite frankly terrible changes, whether made out of ignorance, xenophobia towards Sonic Team/SoJ, some vague, made-up sense of marketability, or all three. So, I'm already wary of media like that. They always change fundamental aspects of Sonic's appeal and are supremely unenjoyable to me as a result.
To stay on track here - why do I dislike IDW Silver? The main reason is that I think he's portrayed as way too polite and nice to people. He has no backbone. It's as if he was just based off of popular fanon or Archie comics, rather than the source material. I don't blame anyone for thinking Silver is some timid, polite sweetheart if fanon and IDW/Archie is all they have consumed, but I'm doing my best to dispel that notion for the sake of conquering misinformation. As a casual fan, it is understandable to have misconceptions, but I'm going to be much more harsh to official media.
I need to hammer home the fact that Silver is rude and often talks down to people. Sonic '06, Silver's debut game, showcases this very well. In an '06 cutscene, he talks down to Sonic after attacking him when his guard was down. The casual stride over to a wheezing, incapacitated Sonic kills me. The disrespect is fucking crazy.
In the level Flame Core, he acts haughty and superior about his abilities, even letting out a light chuckle at how pathetic the enemies are. And, a detail that is easy to miss, he doesn't even apologize for trying to kill Sonic.
That's not even mentioning the Rivals games being a wonderful source of Rude Silver™, where there are too many snide remarks to count.
IDW Silver is a telltale case of Silver's nuance being stripped so that he only represents one trait of his- that trait being "naivety." Silver's naivety is mentioned twice by Blaze in Sonic '06 because this is relevant to the story. Naivety is Silver's fatal flaw that leads to him being easily manipulated by Mephiles. However, his naivety isn't due to some innocent, childlike outlook on the world. Silver takes everyone at face value and always assumes people are telling the truth to him due to a lack of social skills. This is why, when Silver mentions something outlandish or unbelievable to people, he is confused why they don't believe him. This is shown in both Rivals 2 and the Sonic x Silver wallpaper cover story.
IDW seems to completely miss this nuance and conflates "naivety" with childlikeness and innocence. When you realize this, decisions put towards Silver's characterization in IDW makes a lot of sense - his hyperactive excitement and adulation over Whisper is a good example, but how he doesn't talk back to Sonic calling him "flatware" in Issue 8 particularly bothers me.
Realistically, Sonic would immediately get thrown into a wall if he said this to Silver.
Portrayals like IDW Silver are just so utterly confusing. How in the world does Silver get misconstrued this way, into something entirely opposite of what he is, in both fanon and official media? To be completely honest, it makes me frustrated. I want things to change and I feel like I have to speak up. I ended up writing an essay about Why Silver is Rude. I'm sorry anon.

First page
 What did I just do?
That wasn’t supposed to- maybe if I tell him,-
would he even believe me?
no why would he?!
How could he after that stunt!
especially putting on a stupid act for so long?
Flash back
“What made you come anyhow “
theme parties or at least organized their superior to pointless parties no pizzazz
I took my chance after that I started to throw themed parties and you came every time it was the only way I could hang out with you without it being too forced
it was comfortable
when I got the fun idea to do a wedding theme I thought it could be a small laugh maybe we’d even fight a bit after. I thought of you-
But I ruined it now I don’t know if you’ll ever want to trust me again.
Second and third page
Shadow?
Where have you-
Is there something you want to talk about?
Actually, I do care to explain this whole joke centered around me.
What are you on about
everything and everyone doing these parties just a humiliate me
do you honestly believe that
…
exactly no one here wanted to embarrass you
yeah right
shadow…do you know why sonic invites you? He wants to have you around and not be a jerk the whole time.
You mean to tell me this whole wedding was to have me around? Yeah right just look at me.
sonic was supposed to reassure you.
He intends to be homeless fun, but of course his feet always outrun his head besides me and you both know he would never do all of this to hurt you just look around. He had any help with picking out outfits cream with decorating omega with a schedule so he wouldn’t pull you out of Gun duties. He has vanilla to make your favorite cake and even drag me along to pick out those rings he even knew how much you loved lavender. He put so much effort to have all this year like last I checked th that’s the opposite of what someone who is trying to humiliate you would do
Reflection
“Pretty mediocre if you ask Me”
“These dumb themes are the only way to get you out of your shell “
Shit-

A little tired of people saying Moon can’t stand up for herself. Like yeah I think one of the flaws she has is she is too lenient and forgiving, but also in her situation it’s VERY HARD not to be. And it’s very situational, usually manifesting with Five Pebbles.
She stops talking to you if you annoy her enough, and only starts again if you win her back over. You have to put in the work. She isn’t “rolling over” and letting things happen to her, despite the fact that she is in absolutely no position to bargain. As stated by her, her kindness and her words are the ONLY thing she has. So her taking those away from you, the player, is absolutely her standing up for herself.
Everyone brings up how she handles Five Pebbles (esp the comms thing) and it is incredible to me just how many people lay this entirely at her feet when the game states over and over again that even despite Moon’s intentional feather-light influence over him, he still resents her for being his superior. He seeks out a mentor who is her opposite.
He wants to be something more than what he is, wants to be detached from her, and she can’t do anything about that but do the best she can to exert as little influence over him as possible.
She is stuck between a rock and a hard place here, and was betting on her kindness to have fostered enough mutual respect that she wouldn’t have to resort to forced communications. She was wrong. He was driven by fierce desperation, something that she wasn’t privy to. And she paid for it.
Yes, this is a flaw of hers. But it’s not a universal one. (the rest of the iterators look to her for help- she’s the group senior for gods sake- and people act like she can’t take a stand) I genuinely doubt Moon would’ve waited so long to used forced comms if it were happening to anyone else. If it were being committed by anyone else. And that just makes the tragedy even sweeter.
#rain world#looks to the moon#five pebbles#rw spoilers#This isn’t to hate on five pebbles or anything. He’s just as stuck as she is.#But I’ve seen the take pop up more and more that she should “talk to and learn from five pebbles to be more assertive” or w/e#And I’m like literally how pre-collapse could she do that.#It’s very heavily implied that despite moon’s efforts pebbles wants little to nothing to do with her.#Because she’s a reminder of how stuck he is.#One of my fav parts abt rainworld is how the pieces really couldn’t have fallen any other way. They were doomed from the start.#And how the biggest “enemy” the two really have are the very society they desperately cling to.#Anyways. I love moon so much and have so many thoughts. Tragic siblings.

What about the opposite of the short reader Gavi fic and instead one where reader is taller then him? Maybe she's teasing him by not letting him kiss her and then with this prompt "I'm your boyfriend and I demand that you kiss me"? Only if you want to though of course❤️
✮ Mujer Bonita - Pablo Gavi

pablo gavi x taller!fem!reader
sy: what the request says.
a/n: this was so great like as a tall girl myself we need a little more recognition so thank youuuu❣️(sorry if this is a lil short)
warnings: no!
heels or flats. boots or barefoot. did it matter?
one thing you found ridiculously adorable in your relationship with pablo, was the incredulous height difference between you two.
whenever you mention a height difference to your friends, family—anyone for that matter—they’re always quick to assume that he’s the taller one.
it’s a societal standard in any existing community, that a relationship only ‘works’ or ‘lasts’ if the guy has the superior height dominance, but you two had shattered that stereotype.
that’s what made it so special.
but, to your utter dismay, he couldn’t resist using it against you.
“pablo! are you ready yet?” you shout from the top of the stairs, adjusting the strap of your dress.
he mumbled something of a reply, the scuttles of his trainers squeaking against the polished laminate. you didn’t need to see if you could hear.
after thrashing some last minute essentials in your purse, you pursued down the stairs and find gavi infront of the mirror, in your hallway.
smoothing down his hair like usual, the unholy amount of fidgeting with the smallest strands of hair, that were barely visible to the human eye.
“i don’t think the fried baby hairs need styling pabs,” you walked over, resting a hand on his shoulder. “they’re too short to even stand up.”
he mutely mimicked the movement of your lips as you spoke, twisting and turning his head just as you always do.
“fried?” he paused mid motion, before his hazel eyes flickered up to meet your in the reflection. “that’s rich coming from someone who nearly cremated her hair trying to curl it last week.”
your jaw palpably dropped. “that was one time!”
“one too many,” he proudly smirked.
sassy for a man that merely reached 5’8.
“are you gonna continue using that attitude with me?” you playfully threaten him in which he steps back in mock fear, but you saw the mischievous glint in his eyes.
laughing under your breath, you turned toward the front door, but before you could reach it, you felt his hands grip at your waist.
pablo had pulled you back, his chin resting against your shoulder as he huffed dramatically.
“you’re doing it again,” he grumbled, skimming his hands along the matte material of your dress.
you bit back a smile. “doing what?”
“you know what,” his arms tightened around you. “everytime i try to kiss you, you act like i need a damn step stool.”
you chuckled, placing a hand over his. “it’s not my fault you’re short.”
“i’m not short,” he whined, pulling away just to step in front of you. “im actually, nationally, the average height.”
you snorted. “yeah for women.”
his mouth fell open slightly, as if offended, before he squinted at you. “you think you’re funny, don’t you?”
“i know so bebé,” you boasted, and gave him a small tap to his chest. “somebody has to have humour in this relationship.”
pablo narrowed his eyes, straightening his posture and licking his lips. “i’m your boyfriend, and i demand you kiss me.”
you pretended to think about it, biting your lip to suppress another laugh. “demand? where did you learn that word? from pedri?”
gavi huffed, exaggeratedly flinging his arms away from you like he was being physically repelled.
“dios mío,” he grumbled under his breath, tugging on his suit jacket as he was about to walk off. “i hate you.”
“hey,” you giggled, reaching for his wrist to pull him back. “i was just messing with you amor, don’t be so serious.”
the spaniard turned his head, followed by a roll of his eyes. “yeah yeah, i’ve heard that before.”
“ohh well if your going to be so dramatic about it,” you hummed, pulling him close to your body and resting your hands on the front of his shoulders.
but were you going to satisfy him so easily?
just to tease him one last time, you leaned down like you were finally caving in—only to pull away at the last second.
pablo groaned in frustration before finally taking matters into his own hands, gripping your face and pulling you down to meet his lips.
the height difference never mattered after all.

always? always.
PAIRING: frat!rafe cameron x gn!ex bsf!reader
SUMMARY: you and rafe were best friends, but you parted ways in high school for reasons unknown. but what happens when you get a text from him, asking you to come over?
WARNINGS: abuse, ward being a shitty dad, swearing, bruises, cuts, blood, hurt/comfort. it talks explicitly about physical and emotional abuse!
EDITH SPEAKS: so. this is actually one of my works for my 300 followers celly and it was requested by @bejeweledreverie, but I accidentally posted their request without any actual content in it 🥲 so anyways, Annie, I hope you enjoy reading! <3
I got a little carried away, and usually I don't write themes like this, I think it turned out pretty good! Let me know any thoughts you may have 💞 this is set right in the beginning of S1!
PROMPT REQUESTED: "you came." "you called."
300 followers celebration (now closed) || navigation
This is strange. This is never supposed to happen. Rafe Cameron, out of all the people, has texted you if you can come over if you aren’t busy.
Where is this coming from?
You stare at the text for minutes, trying to figure out maybe there’s something which will show you this is all just a bluff. But it seems genuine. Really genuine.
And that’s what is concerning you.
You have known Rafe since basically forever, and you were close when you were little. But something happened in high school, something which you still haven’t figured out exactly what it is, that he basically refuses to do anything but detest you. You’ve tried to understand what it is; tried your level best to separate each strand of the situation to figure what exactly did you do that made him act this way. But you returned with no luck, and the best thing you could do was accept it, and move on from it.
As you think more and more about the text, the more it bothers you. It tugs on your heartstrings and you start to feel concerned for him. Fuck it, you whisper to yourself and get up from your bed to go to him.
As you’re driving to his place, you turn the situation over and over in your head. Maybe it is a prank, maybe it’s just some practical joke.
Or maybe, just maybe, he actually does need your help.
Even though the last one seems the one which has the least probability to happen, yet you’re on your way, as if you’re still his best friend.
You park your car right outside Tannyhill and make your way to its porch. You take a deep breath, trying your level best to calm down your nerves, and then you ring the bell.
The moment swells as you wait for someone to open the door for you, the only thing audible in your ears being your own heartbeat. Finally the door opens, and Rafe is standing right opposite you, in a condition that makes you gasp.
His nose is bloody and there’s a deep cut on his right cheek. Sweat and sticky tears shine on his face, and he’s almost trembling when he’s standing, holding the door open for you.
“Rafe?” You mumble softly, your breathing erratic and your eyes wide as you try to comprehend the situation at hand. Rafe Cameron texted you to come over, and when you do, you see he’s beat up.
Rafe isn’t one to back up from a fight and you know that. If a fight breaks out at school, you know, no matter what, the other person is going to be the one left with bruises all over them. Not Rafe.
It’s never Rafe.
But right now, he’s almost on the verge of breaking down, all covered in blood, and you know exactly who’s the cause of it.
Ward.
It’s been happening since you’ve known him. Ward has never been satisfied with him. He has always had a sense of control over Rafe that gives him a superiority complex and makes him think he can do whatever his heart desires.
And that’s what made Rafe so cold.
So cold from love, and touch.
But with you, he used to be relaxed. You were just kids, but you’d be comforting him, letting him know he’s okay.
But when your separation happened, you never knew how he’s been doing, but never also asked him, because Rafe never really responded well to you.
But now that he’s asked you to come, after not being close for years, you know this is something huge.
Rafe is avoiding all sorts of eye contact with you, his gaze drifting to his shoes. You are still standing at the porch, your eyes desperately trying to find his.
“You came,” he softly mumbles, his gaze fixated at the floor.
“You called,” you breathe out.
His eyes train up to yours, blue eyes – which aren’t icy how you usually see them, but soft and full of hurt. Your heart almost breaks seeing him in this condition.
He silently steps aside to make way for you. You enter inside Tannyhill, and you realize you haven't been in here in the last few years except for occasionally at a party Rafe has thrown which your friend has dragged you to. You had almost forgotten the hugeness of the mansion, and how silent it feels when there’s not many people in it.
Rafe walks ahead of you and climbs up his stairs and up to his room. You silently follow him, even though your mind remembers all the paths like the back of your hand.
Rafe reaches his room and he grips onto the door knob, and you notice his knuckles are bloody too; definitely from punching something a little too hard. You peel your gaze away from him, the blood and the bruises making you a little uncomfortable.
Rafe opens the door and you both walk inside. The room is completely disheveled; the pillows thrown around, the duvet all wrinkly and messed up, a cluttered desk, and the worst: a hole in the wall. You’re quick to connect the dots when you realize the hole and his bleeding knuckles are connected.
Rafe is now sitting on the edge of the bed, his head in his hands and his fingers are pulling on his hair strands. You sigh at the sight and sit next to him, a small distance between you two. Rafe has never been one to like physical touch, so you’re careful to not touch him in any way, when your heart is breaking at the sight and all you want to do is softly caress his back.
He looks up from his hand towards you. “I’m sorry for calling you at such a short notice,” he mumbles. “I- I didn’t have anyone else to call,”
You shake your head at him, a sympathetic look in your eyes. “It’s okay Rafe. What happened?”
He breaks your eye contact and looks at the floor, his gaze not wavering. His forehead is creased from stress, and you can see his chest heaving as he’s taking deep breaths.
“It’s getting worse,” he whispers so faintly, the words get lost in the air around you. “So much worse,”
“Where is he right now?” you softly ask.
“Cameron Development,” he sniffs. “It’s just, I can’t fight back. When it's him, I can never fight back. I feel like a little boy, completely lost and vulnerable. He plays with my feelings. One day he’s telling me he’s proud of me, and the next? Hitting me like I’m some toy,” he whispers. “I’m, I’m done with this shit.” He looks up at you, his eyes boring into yours. “And you’re the only one who knows about it,”
You intake a sharp breath at his words, them striking a chord in you. You have never known what to exactly do in these situations, all you do is help him calm down, listen to what he has to say, clean up his wounds, and ask him to just hope for it all to end. But it's been years. It hasn’t ended yet. Why will it ever end any time soon?
You feel your own eyes pricked by tears, but you try your best to not let them fall. Rafe is so good at hiding his true feelings behind a carefully curated façade, no one ever suspects him to be going through so much shit.
“Apparently I need to get my shit together,” he chuckles dryly, when you both know there is nothing humorous about this situation. “Because if I don’t, I’ll be a shitty heir to the family business. I won’t deserve it,”
“Rafe, I know for a fact you won’t be a shitty heir. You’ll be good, heck, you’ll be great,” you say. “I have so much faith in you. That’s just how Ward is. I don’t want you listening to him, okay? He’s fucked in the head. He doesn’t know what he’s saying.” You get up from his bed and stand in front of him, letting out your hand for him. “Come on, I’ll clean you up, yeah? All that blood and stuff,”
He only nods at your words and takes your hand, and he gets up. You walk to his bathroom where he has a first aid kit kept. Rafe sits on the sink and you stand in front of him, the first aid kit in your hand.
You firstly take a wet towel to clean the dried up blood from his face. You rub it gently over his face, cleaning all the blood and sweat off him.
His breathing starts to slow, and his muscles start to visibly relax as he’s letting you carefully patch him up. You can see his eyes are fluttered close, the creases in his forehead now completely absent, and he looks relaxed.
“Listen…” You mumble softly, as you're preparing a cotton pad with some antiseptic on top of it. “You don’t have long left before you can move out, yeah? It’s all almost done. You’re almost done with it.” You smile gently, as you very carefully start to dab the cotton pad on his bruises. “You’ve been so strong all your life, and now, it’s almost done. You’ll live far away from Ward, where he can’t say anything to you, yeah?”
He winces a little as the antiseptic burns him, but he doesn’t push you away. He stays fixed in his seat, his eyes closed, as he hears your words and lets you treat him.
A silence falls around you both as you start to put the band aids where they are needed. You take a step back to look if you’ve covered him okay, and it looks like you have.
“All done,” You smile, screwing the cap of the antiseptic back and keeping it in the box. Rafe opens his eyes, a soft look taking over his features as he watches you clean everything up and set it all aside.
“I’m, I’m sorry…” he whispers quietly. You look at him with a confused expression on your face.
“What for?” You mutter, not really knowing where he’s coming from.
“For pushing you away, I didn’t want to do that. It was the shittiest thing I’ve ever done. You’re the only one who understands me, who listens to me. Everyone just thinks I’m this privileged boy with a shit ton of money,” he shakes his head. “But you, you’ve seen it all through it. And I don’t think I can ever be this way with anyone else.”
You sigh at him, his words starting to sink in me. “I just want to know why you pushed me away.” You whisper. “We were best friends, Rafe,”
“I- I hated seeing you hanging out with the Pogues,” he mutters quietly. “I didn’t like losing you to them.”
You think hard about what he’s saying, and you realize he’s right. When you started at a new high school, it was overwhelming to say the very least. Pope was one of your study buddies in your class, and through him you met the rest of his friend group. To say they were living their life to the fullest is an understatement. They were enjoying every single moment of it.
“I know they live on the edge, they like doing adventurous things, and you’ve always seeked adventure just like that,” he continues, “it just hurts so much seeing you get with them. We parted ways, and the only thing I thought I could’ve done was to hate you. And, now that I think about it, I was just being petty, I know. I just, I just wish to have you back,”
The tears start to roll down your cheeks, your eyes red and your heart loud. You instantly wrap your arms around Rafe, clutching him tightly to you.
“I’m sorry,” You whisper, my head in the crook of his neck. “I’m really sorry I did that. It’s my fault we separated. It’s all my fault and I’m really sorry about that,”
Rafe’s hands reach for your back as he gently rubs it, the motion soothing and relaxing. “It’s okay, it really is. I was being a little child,” he softly chuckles. He holds onto your shoulders and gently pulls you back, looking into your eyes. “Just, don’t leave me again, yeah? I can’t do this life thing without you,”
You nod your head at his words, a soft smile taking over you as you feel your tears coming to a stop. “I promise to be by your side.” you say, your words firm.
“Always?” He asks, a hopeful glint in his eyes.
You sigh at his words, your smile still tugging on the corners of your lips.
“Always.”

This is probably the most unpopular of all unpopular opinions out there, but hear me out for just a second:
Can we please start to acknowledge Kuai Liang's flaws? It's perfectly fine to like a character while also acknowledging their negative traits and the bad things they've done. I'm genuinely confused by the whole "aww Kuai Liang is so nice :)" thing the fandom has going on. I understand that, being a Bi-Han fan, I might sound biased, but I promise this is coming from a completely neutral standpoint.
I don't see how any of the positive traits fans associate with Kuai Liang (kindness, selflessness, a caring nature) are backed up by any canon material we know of. Those traits belong to Tomas, not Kuai Liang. The version of Kuai Liang that is a loving brother to Tomas and the prime example of a good man only exists in fanon.
Vengeful, short-tempered, regressive — those are Kuai Liang's actual traits.
May I remind you, the real Kuai Liang looks like this.
His face expresses arrogance, he's looking down on whoever is in front of him. He doesn't smile, doesn't display any expression that one could interpret for kindness. He looks cold. Does that arrogance and coldness look familiar at all?
It's the same expression as this one. Bi-Han is also shown looking down on others, with the exact same confidence stemming from the idea that he is superior to others. Kuai Liang mirrors that expression perfectly. They're brothers, they're similar in the way they act and think, in the way they were raised. Let's not forget that Kuai Liang was second in line for the grandmaster title while with the Lin Kuei. He is grandmaster of the Shirai Ryu now. They are both arrogant.
Tomas is the only one of the three who smiles and has a warm, kind aura to him. I'm not saying he's a perfect ray of sunshine, he's certainly capable of being ruthless just like his brothers, but he doesn't share their overwhelmingly negative traits.
There is no warmth to Kuai Liang at all, which is ironic given that his element is fire. Kuai Liang's fire, however, burns cold to match Bi-Han's ice. They are not opposites, they are the same.
Hanzo as Scorpion was driven by grief and ultimately love for his family, Kuai Liang's fire is only fueled by hatred for his brother.
While Bi-Han is obsessed with power, Kuai Liang's obsession with honor and tradition is crossing the line to fanaticism. Am I the only one to find it concerning how he worships his father and his father's ideals almost religiously? It's pretty much all he ever talks about at any given chance.
to Bi-Han: "His teachings did not pass with him. They should still guide us." to Bi-Han: "Father would turn in his grave if he saw this." to Smoke: "We must chart a new course. One that both honors our Father's legacy and serves Earthrealm." to Kitana: "Death before dishonor." to Smoke: "Only if we honor tradition."
Is this how a normal person talks? I don't think so. Admittedly, Bi-Han's methods are wrong, but since when is it a good thing to be completely against progress? Kuai Liang is stuck holding onto outdated traditions that don't allow for growth. It's not necessarily a bad thing that he looks up to his father, but idolizing someone to the point of never questioning anything they do or say and giving up any critical thinking is dangerous.
There's plenty more examples in the story mode and intros where Kuai Liang brings up honor and tradition, but this post is going to be long enough as it is so I only named a few.
I want to focus more on how Kuai Liang treats other characters throughout the story.
Tomas:
Why does the fandom claim he's such a good brother to Tomas when this is the only scene in the story mode where Kuai Liang expresses any sort of care towards Tomas — in a moment where he needs Tomas on his side?
Oddly enough, he's playing at Tomas' vulnerability here by bringing up family and reassuring him that they're brothers even if they don't share blood, in direct contrast to how Bi-Han said Tomas' blood was not Lin Kuei earlier. Words he chose carefully and deliberately, not out of the goodness of his heart because he wanted to comfort Tomas, but to achieve the desired effect: to sway Tomas to his side.
Similar to Bi-Han, Kuai Liang is a manipulative and calculating character. I would even dare to go as far as to say he's even more manipulative since Bi-Han lacks the charisma and patience to be a successful manipulator. Bi-Han makes no effort to convince Tomas to join him. He can't even keep up the lie he told Kuai Liang for very long. Bi-Han's actions are impulsive and poorly planned out, he's the naive one being manipulated by characters like Shang Tsung while Kuai Liang makes smart, calculated moves. He knew exactly what he was doing when speaking to Tomas.
I don't see how that was even necessary since Tomas would have picked Kuai Liang's side regardless simply because it's the one aligning with his own beliefs, but Kuai Liang's words were a subtle "Hey, remember that I'm the one who considers you part of this family and he does not. If you don't side with me, you're going to betray your own brother."
One of the key signs to recognize a manipulator by is how they try and convince a person close to them that it's "the two of them against everyone else" or in this case "them against their older brother". Manipulators know someone's weaknesses (Tomas' desire to be a part of their family) and how to exploit them to get what they want.
There was never even the slightest chance that Tomas would have sided with Bi-Han in that fight anyway, but he also appears way more passive in it as opposed to Kuai Liang. Tomas doesn't want to fight his own brother, but at the end of the day he cares more about doing the right thing and saving innocent lives than about his inner conflict. For Kuai Liang, it's a quest for vengeance and the pursue of his own goals above all else.
I also think it's interesting that Tomas looks slightly surprised/ confused at the hand being placed on his arm by Kuai Liang. It's almost like he's not used to being reassured like this which makes you wonder how often Kuai Liang really comforted Tomas or showed any support towards him. Like Liu Kang and everyone else, Kuai Liang barely acknowledged Smoke's presence before. They're only seen exchanging occasional glances.
What has me doubt the sincerety of Kuai Liang's words even more is this scene.
Personally, I don't believe that Bi-Han has ever snapped at Tomas like that before this incident here, but I know the fandom likes to think otherwise so just for this take let's go with the wrong assumption that Bi-Han used to put Tomas down like that regularly.
Why did Kuai Liang not step in to defend Tomas in this scene? If he knew where this was going why did he let Bi-Han finish his sentence? It's certainly not out of respect or because Bi-Han is their grandmaster. Kuai Liang has no issue talking back to him and contradicting him in other situations but he was surprisingly silent when this whole thing went down.
He was either just as surprised as Tomas that Bi-Han would snap at their brother like that because it hasn't happened before or because he simply didn't care to interrupt since he had nothing to gain from it, unlike later when he wanted Tomas' loyalty for himself.
Kuai Liang could have been standing up for Tomas in this situation if he was the good brother everyone sees him as, but for some reason he didn't. Make of that what you will.
As for the intros between them, there's only one where Kuai Liang asks about Tomas' family. In every other intro with Tomas he only speaks of his own goals. Honor, tradition, training the Shirai Ryu, defeating the Lin Kuei... At one point he praises Tomas for his loyalty towards him, only to question said loyalty later on.
Scorpion: Our resolve cannot waver, brother. Smoke: I'm offended that you think mine has.
If I'm not mistaken, that's a prime example of manipulation right here. Guilt tripping/shaming someone into doing something they don't even want to do.
Kuai Liang seems to always be working an angle with Tomas. Why is he suddenly doubting him? Because he knows Tomas wants peace, not war between the brothers?
Ultimately, it seems he doesn't care about what Tomas wants. We know that Tomas is torn in this conflict, he resents Bi-Han, but he also doesn't want his brothers to fight. Otherwise, he wouldn't have asked for Liu Kang to reunite them.
Tomas' intros are a whole paradox of their own.
Smoke: Are we to be enemies for life? Sub-Zero: Unless you submit, Tomas.
Smoke: I'll never forgive Bi-Han. Scorpion: His betrayal has seared both our hearts.
Scorpion: We'll soon meet the Lin Kuei in battle. Smoke: It will be our last with them. Smoke: For Earthrealm's sake, my brothers must reunite. Raiden: There's little hope for that, Tomas.
Smoke: Can I get the brothers to reconcile? Liu Kang: They must choose their own path, Tomas.
What Tomas says to other characters contradicts everything he says to Kuai Liang. But why? Why does he never tell Kuai Liang directly that he'd just wish him and Bi-Han would stop fighting? Why if not because he's afraid of Kuai Liang's reaction and that he will lose him as a brother unless he agrees with everything Kuai Liang says?
SPOILERS: It's interesting how Kuai Liang in this scene asks Tomas to help him bring Bi-Han back with them so he won't be able to aid Shang Tsung, but according to leaks he's going to leave Bi-Han behind with Havik in the dlc, not even caring about the consequences that might have for Bi-Han or for Earthrealm. Now that Tomas isn't there he no longer has to keep up the facade. Tomas' absence also makes me wonder if he maybe got tired of Kuai Liang's spitefulness and blind hatred.
To sum it up, here's what we know about how Kuai Liang treats Tomas:
Kuai Liang initialy doesn't defend Tomas against Bi-Han's harsh words
He picks an odd timing to comfort Tomas at the Ying Fortress, possibly to assure that Tomas will join his side, not Bi-Han's
He's trying to push his own agenda onto Tomas who agrees with him in their intros but doesn't seem to share Kuai Liang's goals when speaking to other characters like Liu Kang or Raiden
SPOILERS: It seems that Tomas won't be attending Kuai Liang's wedding as he's not mentioned at all in any of the dlc leaks. He might be trying to stay out of the fight between his brothers entirely.
Bi-Han:
Another detail I've noticed is how quickly Kuai Liang comes up with the idea to create the Shirai Ryu. How likely is it that he made the decision to form an entire new clan on the spot? He seems way too prepared for this scenario.
Smoke: Once he's exposed, won't you be grandmaster? Scorpion: You forget Cyrax and Sektor. Their loyalty to Bi-Han is absolute. They'll sooner abet his corruption than follow me. We must chart a new course.
Why did Tomas not know about this when they're part of the same clan but Kuai Liang knows the answer immediately? It's almost like he has thought it through before, tried to figure out exactly who would side with him and who wouldn't if it came down to important Lin Kuei members choosing between him and Bi-Han. And that's because he has. It even says so in his official bio.

Kuai Liang always intended to overthrow Bi-Han.
He admitted that he was aware of Bi-Han's frustrations all along and yet he never brought up his concerns to Liu Kang or anyone else. It seems that he intended to take advantage of how mentally unstable his brother was in order to become grandmaster himself. I'm not saying he always wanted the title to himself, Kuai Liang doesn't care about power, but his obsession with tradition equals Bi-Han's obsession with power. He wanted to rule the Lin Kuei himself to enforce his own ideals and when he realized that wouldn't work out, he settled for the next best thing: creating his own clan.
Kitana in comparison also knows that Mileena is impulsive and many people doubt that she's fit to lead but she supports her sister regardless. Her loyalty to Mileena is unwavering. Kitana loves and supports her sister unconditionally. It doesn't even once cross her mind to take Mileena's place on the throne.
Kuai Liang and Kitana share similar values, yet Kitana's loyalty to her sister outweighs all that while Kuai Liang didn't hesitate to plot against Bi-Han way before Bi-Han even sided with Shang Tsung. Just Bi-Han's frustration alone was reason enough for Kuai Liang to want to overthrow his brother.
Ashrah, a complete stranger, cares more about redeeming Bi-Han than his own brother does. And no, Kuai Liang's actions can't be justified by bringing up that Bi-Han let their father die or betrayed Earthrealm etc. because Kuai Liang gave up on him long before any of that happened. In fact, the way Kuai Liang constantly brings up their father at every chance he gets probably added to Bi-Han's frustrations and is part of the reason why he was driven to madness.
Scorpion: Glory? We fight for duty. Sub-Zero: Does our father's ghost possess you? All I hear is his voice.
Bi-Han seems haunted by their father's ghost and Kuai Liang knows, yet he doesn't shy away from bringing it up at every opportunity. Was it done on purpose? Who knows.
But it's noteworthy that it's again manipulative behavior. The way Kuai Liang constantly criticizes Bi-Han, undermines his authority, compares him to their father whenever he can although he knows about Bi-Han's frustrations, then claims a shadow has fallen on Bi-Han's soul when he at the very least partially helped cast that shadow.
I'm not sure why people claim Kuai Liang was supportive of Bi-Han before his betrayal because there's no evidence of that at all. At least, none that I could find. Kuai Liang seems reluctant to follow Bi-Han's orders and he also doesn't seem to respect him much. Again, compare that to how Kitana shows actual concern for Mileena while Kuai Liang just seems fed up with Bi-Han.
Personally, I believe Kuai Liang's goals are far bigger than we know at this point. Something about the line "The Shirai Ryu won't rest until Bi-Han is defeated and the Lin Kuei's honor is restored" suggests that, while he built his own clan, Kuai Liang still has some interest in the Lin Kuei. I doubt that he's just planning to take down Bi-Han to let someone else be grandmaster in his place. I think that Kuai Liang wants to merge both clans once Bi-Han is defeated. After all, Kuai Liang's bio mentions that he's willing to fight his brother for control of the Lin Kuei's legacy. He might think it would be in his father's interest if he became grandmaster of both clans. However, that's just an educated guess and might not be true at all.
How Kuai Liang treats Bi-Han:
Kuai Liang never trusted Bi-Han's leadership skills or acknowledged his authority
The conflict of interest between the brothers always existed, even before Bi-Han switched sides and Kuai Liang always planned to take the grandmaster title from Bi-Han
Kuai Liang attempted to (and would have) killed Bi-Han but was interrupted in doing so
He's eager to fight Bi-Han, while Tomas is reluctant
He seems to have always held very little love for Bi-Han, if any at all, although he claims they used to be close once
Harumi:
Does no one else think it's a little bit suspicious that the woman Kuai Liang ends up "falling in love with" is a capable fighter and head of her own clan, someone with exactly the resources, knowledge and means to provide Kuai Liang with everything he needs to build his own clan? He even names the Shirai Ryu after Harumi, a clan whose goal it is to take down Kuai Liang's hated brother, someone Harumi probably knows little about or never even met. Maybe I'm the only one to think that's kind of messed up and not a romantic gesture, but at least he's giving her some credit, right? Does Harumi lead the Shirai Ryu with Kuai Liang or did he take her own clan from her to build his own? I couldn't really find any information regarding that but it would be even more messed up if the Shirai Ryu are originally Harumi's clan that Kuai Liang simply took over.
Another weird detail is how Smoke calls Harumi Kuai Liang's "good friend" in his own ending, which makes you wonder if he left the Shirai Ryu before Kuai Liang and Harumi became a couple? Does he know Kuai Liang doesn't actually love Harumi? It's confusing because Tomas is the person closest to Kuai Liang. Shouldn't he be the first to know if his brother fell in love and is planning to get married?
Kuai Liang's reaction when Kitana congratulates him on his marriage is rather cold as well. He doesn't seem like a happy, newly married man and it makes me think their marriage wasn't necessarily out of love, at least not on Kuai Liang's side.
How Kuai Liang treats Harumi:
There's not enough known about their relationship yet to really know if Kuai Liang's love for Harumi is genuine
He benefitted a lot from his friendship with her when creating the Shirai Ryu
It's strange that Tomas only calls Harumi Kuai Liang's "good friend"
Final conclusion:
Kuai Liang seems to follow a pattern of binding people to him emotionally (Tomas, Harumi... ) to be able to use them to his own advantage. I'm not saying that he doesn't care about them at all, but first and foremost, they're assets to him and family second.
For someone who claims to care about honor, Kuai Liang sure has very little of it. SPOILERS: The fact that Kuai Liang is willing to let Bi-Han die and deny him treatment when he gets infected with chaos magic says a lot about the type of person he is. How is it honorable to kick a man when he's down? How is it honorable that he wants to kill Frost during his own wedding and Harumi has to beg him to spare her life?
To get this straight, this is not an attempt to paint Kuai Liang as the epitome of all evil or to say he doesn't care at all about the people in his life, just that he's much more cold and calculating than people give him credit for. Just because Kuai Liang has chosen the good side while Bi-Han went down the wrong path doesn't necessarily make him a nice person. He's still vindictive and selfish. He still shows toxic behavior.
I know someone will try and twist this post into something it isn't, so let me say this is NOT a personal attack on Kuai Liang fans or an attempt to spread negativity, it's just my opinion that you're free to disagree with. I blame the writers and their obvious bias for Scorpion that Kuai Liang's bad traits are so often overlooked. This post is only me sharing my thoughts. If it offends you, block me. I don't want to see this reblogged with paragraphs from people trying to defend Kuai Liang.

Queen Bee (K. Minju x M! Reader)
Another request! I've tweaked some stuff here n there with anon's suggestion but overall it came out nice in the end. Writing Bully Minju was a great experience for me too! Anyways, hope you all enjoy this one!
The opulent marble halls of Evergreen Academy echoed with the clacking of Minju's designer heels as she swept through the corridors, her entourage of loyal followers trailing behind her like a flock of well-groomed ducklings. Her eyes scanned the crowd of students, searching for any sign of rebellion or dissent against her ironclad rule.
Minju was the undisputed queen of Evergreen, her family's wealth and influence casting a long shadow over the prestigious institution. She had carefully cultivated her image as a benevolent, yet firm leader, maintaining an air of superiority that few dared to challenge.
But beneath the polished veneer, Minju's true nature simmered - a burning desire for power and control that knew no bounds. She ruthlessly crushed any opposition, using her family's resources to quash any threats to her reign. The students of Evergreen were her subjects, to be molded and manipulated as she saw fit.
That was, until the arrival of a new Yuna, Yuna, who dared to disrupt the carefully curated social order that Minju had worked so hard to maintain.
From the moment Yuna set foot on campus, Minju could sense the threat she posed. The girl's humble origins and lack of social pedigree were an affront to the exclusivity that Minju prized. And so, Minju set out to make Yuna's life a living hell, subjecting her to a relentless campaign of bullying and humiliation.
But Minju's reign of terror met an unexpected challenge in the form of (Y/N) (L/N), the scion of one of the wealthiest families in the country. As a member of Evergreen's elite social circle, (Y/N) had always been one of Minju's loyal followers, dutifully adhering to the unspoken rules that governed their exclusive world.
Until, that is, the day Minju's cruelty towards Yuna pushed (Y/N) to the brink.
Minju still vividly remembered the confrontation in the courtyard, the way (Y/N)'s usually calm demeanor had been replaced by a righteous fury that left her momentarily unbalanced.
"That's enough, Minju," (Y/N) had said, his voice steady but laced with an unmistakable edge.
Minju had been taken aback, her lips curling into a sardonic smile as she tried to regain her footing. "Well, well, if it isn't (Y/N) (L/N), coming to the rescue. How noble of you."
But (Y/N) had refused to be cowed, his eyes burning with a determination that Minju had never seen in him before. "This has gone on long enough. You can't keep bullying people just because they don't fit your narrow definition of what's 'acceptable' at this school."
Minju's expression had darkened, and she could feel the jealousy and resentment bubbling beneath the surface. "Oh, please. As if you have any right to lecture me about what's acceptable. You may be one of the richest students here, (Y/N), but you're still just a pathetic little worm trying to act like a hero."
The words had tumbled from her lips before she could stop them, a desperate attempt to regain the upper hand. But (Y/N)'s response had only served to further erode her confidence.
"Maybe I am a worm, Minju, but at least I have the courage to stand up for what's right. Unlike you, who just uses her wealth and status to crush anyone who dares to defy you."
Minju's jaw had clenched with frustration, her mind racing as she tried to formulate a retort. But before she could, the arrival of Mr. Park had turned the tide against her, forcing her to retreat in the face of the teacher's stern rebuke.
As Minju had stalked away, her followers trailing behind her, she could feel (Y/N)'s gaze burning into her back. The humiliation of being exposed and challenged in front of her peers was a wound to her pride that refused to heal. The clacking sound of Minju's designer heels as she swept through the corridors was fleeting away from the scene. Her entourage of loyal followers trailing behind her like a flock of well-groomed ducklings.
However Minju's eyes would find its way back on (Y/N) (L/N) and the new transferee, Yuna. As she watched the confrontation unfold, a strange, unfamiliar feeling stirred within her - a cocktail of jealousy, possessiveness, and a touch of something she couldn't quite place.
Minju had always prided herself on her ability to command the attention and adoration of her peers. Her family's wealth and influence had granted her an almost godlike status within the hallowed halls of Evergreen, and she reveled in the power it afforded her. But now, seeing (Y/N) stand up to her, his eyes burning with a passion she had never witnessed before, left her feeling...unsettled.
The familiar scent of her expensive perfume mingled with the crisp, sterile air of the academy, and Minju found herself thinking back to the intensity of (Y/N)'s gaze, the unwavering determination in his voice. It was as if he had awakened something within her, a dormant ember that now threatened to burst into a roaring flame.
Minju's fingers twitched with the desire to reach out and reclaim (Y/N)'s attention, to remind him of his place at her side. She had grown so accustomed to his loyal, obedient nature, the way he had always deferred to her without question. But now, that delicate balance had been shattered, and Minju couldn't help but feel a twinge of...longing.
As (Y/N) walked away, his head held high, Minju's heart raced with a mixture of emotions she couldn't quite identify. The sound of her heels echoed through the corridors, a steady beat that seemed to match the rhythm of her rapidly beating heart.
Minju knew she had to regain control, to reassert her dominance over the situation. But deep down, a part of her couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to have (Y/N)'s unwavering loyalty and devotion directed towards her in a different way - one that went beyond the boundaries of their established dynamic.
In the days that followed, Minju's obsession with (Y/N) and Yuna only intensified. She couldn't understand why (Y/N) had chosen to side with the lowly Yuna, defying the very social order that Minju had worked so hard to uphold.
Worse still, she could see the effects of (Y/N)'s actions rippling through the student body. Whispers of discontent and dissent began to circulate, and Minju could feel her grip on the school starting to slip.
Desperate to regain control, Minju unleashed a relentless campaign of sabotage and intimidation, targeting both (Y/N) and Yuna. She sabotaged their assignments, spread vicious rumors, and even went so far as to try and have them expelled.
But (Y/N) refused to be cowed, rallying support from other students who were tired of Minju's tyrannical reign. Together, they formed a resistance movement, challenging Minju's authority at every turn.
Minju's frustration only grew, and she lashed out with increasing ferocity, her actions becoming more and more reckless as she fought to maintain her hold on Evergreen. She was like a cornered animal, baring her teeth and lashing out at any perceived threat.
And then, the final confrontation came at the annual school gala, a prestigious event attended by the elite of Evergreen Academy. (Y/N) and Yuna had been invited, and they knew that this was their chance to make their move.
As the gala unfolded, (Y/N) and Yuna worked tirelessly to rally support from the other guests, exposing Minju's misdeeds and rallying the school community against her. The tension in the air was palpable, and everyone held their breath, waiting to see how the showdown would play out.
Finally, Minju took the stage, her eyes blazing with fury. She tried to discredit (Y/N) and Yuna, but their allies stood firm, refusing to be cowed by her intimidation tactics.
In the end, it was (Y/N)'s impassioned speech that tipped the scales. He spoke of the values of kindness, compassion, and mutual respect that should be the foundation of Evergreen Academy, and how Minju's selfish and cruel behavior had betrayed those values.
As Minju's supporters began to waver, (Y/N) seized the moment, calling for a vote of no-confidence in Minju's leadership. The vote was close, but in the end, Minju was toppled from her throne, stripped of her power and influence.
In the aftermath, Minju found herself adrift, her carefully constructed world crumbling around her. She had lost everything – her status, her power, her very identity as the queen of Evergreen. And worst of all, she had lost (Y/N), the one person she had always counted on to be by her side.
As she wandered the empty corridors of the school, Minju couldn't help but feel a sense of profound loss and regret. She had sacrificed so much to maintain her reign, but in the end, it had all been for naught.
It was in those moments of solitude that Minju finally began to confront the truth about herself – the truth that she had been desperately trying to bury beneath layers of arrogance and cruelty.
She had been a bully, a tyrant who had used her wealth and status to crush anyone who dared to defy her. And in doing so, she had lost sight of the very values that had once defined her – the compassion, the kindness, the sense of community that had once been the hallmark of Evergreen Academy.
Minju's eyes filled with tears as she realized the full extent of her transgressions. She had betrayed the trust of her peers, her teachers, and worst of all, (Y/N) – the one person who had always seen the best in her, even when she had long since abandoned that part of herself.
With a newfound sense of shame and determination, Minju knew that she had to make amends. She had to find a way to redeem herself, to rebuild the trust she had so carelessly destroyed.
It was a daunting task, but as Minju steeled herself and set out to confront the consequences of her actions, she knew that she had no one to blame but herself. The road to redemption would be long and arduous, but she was determined to walk it, no matter the cost.
And deep down, a small part of her still harbored the hope that one day, (Y/N) might see the change in her, and that perhaps, just perhaps, he might be willing to give her a second chance.
The aftermath of Minju's dramatic downfall reverberated through the halls of Evergreen Academy, leaving a palpable sense of unease and uncertainty in its wake. The once ironclad social hierarchy that she had so ruthlessly enforced lay in tatters, and the students found themselves navigating unfamiliar territory, unsure of where they now fit within this new, uncharted landscape.
For Minju, the transition from untouchable queen to disgraced pariah was a bitter pill to swallow. Gone were the days of her loyal entourage and the unchecked power she had wielded with such casual cruelty. Now, she found herself cast adrift, her very identity as the reigning monarch of Evergreen stripped away, leaving her feeling vulnerable and exposed.
As she wandered the empty corridors, Minju couldn't help but feel the weight of her actions pressing down upon her. The memories of her past transgressions – the bullying, the sabotage, the relentless pursuit of power at any cost – played out in an endless loop in her mind, a cruel reminder of the monster she had become.
Minju's gaze drifted to the trophy case that once held the symbols of her dominance – the accolades, the awards, the trophies that had been a testament to her success. But now, those gleaming artifacts felt like a hollow victory, a meaningless accumulation of trinkets that had done nothing to fill the void within her.
With a heavy sigh, Minju turned away, her steps heavy as she made her way to the one place she had once found solace – the school's library. It had always been her haven, a quiet refuge where she could escape the relentless demands of her social obligations and immerse herself in the world of books and knowledge.
But even this sanctuary felt tainted now, the whispers and sidelong glances of her former peers following her like a dark cloud. Minju could sense the judgment in their eyes, the resentment that bubbled just beneath the surface. It was a humbling realization, one that she had never been forced to confront before.
As Minju settled into a secluded corner of the library, her fingers tracing the spine of a well-worn volume, a familiar voice suddenly reached her ears.
"Minju?"
She looked up to see (Y/N) standing before her, his expression unreadable. Minju felt her heart leap in her chest, a surge of emotions she had long since buried threatening to overwhelm her.
"(Y/N)," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "I... I didn't expect to see you here."
(Y/N) regarded her for a moment, his brow furrowed in a faint expression of concern. "I... I wanted to make sure you were alright. After everything that's happened, I-"
Minju cut him off, her hands trembling slightly. "I'm fine, (Y/N). I'm... I'm managing."
An uncomfortable silence hung between them, the weight of their shared history palpable in the air. Minju could feel her carefully constructed walls beginning to crumble, the mask of indifference she had so painstakingly cultivated slipping away.
"(Y/N)," she began, her voice wavering with emotion. "I... I'm sorry. For everything. I know that doesn't begin to make up for what I've done, but I-"
(Y/N) raised a hand, silencing her. "Minju, I... I've been doing a lot of thinking since the gala. About you, about all of this. And I realize that... well, that I may have misjudged you, in a way."
Minju's eyes widened in surprise, her heart pounding in her chest. "What do you mean?"
(Y/N) sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Look, I'm not going to pretend that what you did was right. You hurt a lot of people, Minju, and you betrayed the very values that Evergreen is supposed to stand for."
Minju felt a familiar sting of shame, her gaze dropping to the floor. "I know. I-I don't expect you to forgive me, (Y/N). I've done so many terrible things, and I-"
"Let me finish," (Y/N) interrupted, his voice gentle but firm. "The truth is, I've always known that there was more to you than the bully and the tyrant. Somewhere, underneath all of that, there was a person who cared, who had a genuine passion for this school and its community."
Minju's breath caught in her throat, her eyes searching (Y/N)'s face for any hint of deception. "You... you really believe that?"
(Y/N) nodded, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "I do. And I think you believe it too, deep down. That's why this has been so hard for you – because you know that you've betrayed that part of yourself."
Minju felt the tears welling in her eyes, her carefully constructed walls crumbling under the weight of (Y/N)'s words. "I... I don't know what to say. I've hurt so many people, (Y/N). How can I ever make up for that?"
(Y/N) reached out, his hand coming to rest on Minju's shoulder. "It won't be easy, Minju. Rebuilding trust and earning forgiveness takes time and effort. But I believe you can do it – if you're willing to truly change, to become the person you know you can be."
Minju looked up at him, her eyes shining with a newfound glimmer of hope. "I... I want to try, (Y/N). I want to be that person again. But I'm scared. What if I fail?"
(Y/N) squeezed her shoulder reassuringly. "You won't be alone, Minju. I'll be here, supporting you every step of the way. We'll face this challenge together, just like we used to."
Minju felt a wave of gratitude wash over her, her heart swelling with a newfound sense of purpose. She had lost so much, but in that moment, she realized that she had the chance to regain something even more valuable – the trust and respect of her peers, and the chance to become the person she had always wanted to be.
It would be a long and arduous journey, but with (Y/N) by her side, Minju knew that she could overcome the obstacles that lay ahead. She would have to work tirelessly to make amends, to prove that she had truly changed. But for the first time in a long while, Minju felt a glimmer of hope – a spark that she was determined to nurture and grow into a blazing flame of redemption.
As she and (Y/N) stepped out of the library, their footsteps echoing through the empty halls, Minju felt a renewed sense of purpose. She knew that the road ahead would be filled with challenges, but with (Y/N)'s support and her own unwavering determination, she was confident that she could overcome them.
The journey to redemption had begun, and Minju was ready to face it head-on.
The path to redemption was not an easy one for Minju, but with (Y/N)'s unwavering support, she was determined to make the most of this second chance.
In the days and weeks that followed their conversation in the library, Minju set out to systematically rebuild the trust and respect she had so carelessly squandered. It was a slow and arduous process, marked by skepticism and outright hostility from many of her former peers.
But Minju refused to be deterred. She knew that she had to prove the sincerity of her transformation, that mere words would not be enough to undo the damage she had done. And so, she set about making amends, one small step at a time.
She began by publicly acknowledging the wrongs she had committed, standing before the entire student body and offering a heartfelt apology. It was a daunting task, laying bare her past transgressions and vulnerabilities for all to see, but Minju knew that it was a necessary first step.
To her surprise, the reaction was not entirely hostile. While some of her former followers turned their backs on her, others – the ones who had borne the brunt of her cruelty – seemed cautiously receptive to her words. Minju could see the glimmers of hope in their eyes, a yearning for the redemption she now sought.
Emboldened by this cautious progress, Minju set out to make amends in more tangible ways. She used her family's resources to establish a scholarship fund for underprivileged students, ensuring that the doors of Evergreen would be open to all, regardless of their social standing.
She also volunteered her time, working tirelessly alongside her peers to organize fundraisers and community service projects, using her influence to mobilize resources and inspire others to action.
Through it all, (Y/N) remained a steadfast presence at her side, offering guidance, encouragement, and a much-needed dose of reality when Minju's progress threatened to falter.
"It's not going to be easy, Minju," he would remind her, his voice gentle but firm. "You've hurt a lot of people, and earning their trust back is going to take time and effort. But I believe in you. I know you can do this."
And with each passing day, Minju found herself drawing strength from (Y/N)'s unwavering belief in her. She could feel the walls she had built around her heart slowly crumbling, replaced by a newfound sense of purpose and determination.
It was during one of the school's annual charity drives that Minju's transformation truly began to take root. As she stood alongside her peers, sorting and packing donations for the local homeless shelter, she couldn't help but be struck by the sense of community and camaraderie that had once been the hallmark of Evergreen Academy.
Minju watched as (Y/N) worked tirelessly, his sleeves rolled up and a genuine smile on his face as he interacted with the other students. She marveled at the way he had seamlessly integrated himself into the fabric of the community, his once-aloof demeanor replaced by a genuine warmth and compassion.
And in that moment, Minju felt a pang of regret – regret for the years she had spent tearing that community apart, for the ways in which she had betrayed the very values that had once defined her.
Hesitantly, she approached (Y/N), her voice barely above a whisper. "(Y/N)... can I help?"
He turned to her, his eyes widening in surprise, but then a gentle smile spread across his face. "Of course, Minju. We could always use an extra pair of hands."
As Minju rolled up her sleeves and joined the effort, she felt a sense of peace wash over her. The familiar weight of her past transgressions still lingered, but in this moment, it felt as if she was finally beginning to shed that burden, to reclaim the part of herself she had so long ago abandoned.
The other students were wary at first, casting sidelong glances in Minju's direction, but as she worked alongside them, her genuine enthusiasm and commitment began to break down those barriers. Slowly but surely, she could feel the walls of distrust and resentment crumbling, replaced by a cautious acceptance.
And when the day's work was done, and the students gathered to admire the impressive pile of donations they had amassed, Minju found herself surrounded by her peers, their expressions no longer filled with hostility, but with a newfound respect.
(Y/N) stood by her side, his hand reaching out to gently squeeze her shoulder. "I'm proud of you, Minju," he murmured, his voice filled with genuine warmth.
Minju felt a lump rise in her throat, her eyes brimming with tears. "Thank you, (Y/N). For... for believing in me, even when I didn't believe in myself."
(Y/N) smiled, his gaze holding hers. "I always knew you had it in you, Minju. You just needed to find your way back."
As they walked back to the dorms, Minju felt a sense of renewed purpose and determination. The road ahead was still long and uncertain, but for the first time in a long while, she felt a glimmer of hope – hope that she could truly become the person she had always aspired to be.
And with (Y/N) by her side, Minju knew that she could overcome any obstacle that stood in her path. Together, they would rebuild the community, reclaiming the values that had once defined Evergreen Academy and creating a legacy that would endure long after they had graduated.
It was a daunting task, but Minju was more than ready to face it head-on. Her journey to redemption had only just begun, but she was determined to see it through, no matter the cost.
As the weeks turned into months, Minju's journey of redemption continued to unfold, marked by both triumphs and challenges.
While her initial public apology had been met with a mix of lingering skepticism and cautious hope, Minju's unwavering commitment to making amends began to slowly erode the barriers that had once separated her from her peers.
She threw herself wholeheartedly into the various community service projects and charity initiatives that now dotted the Evergreen Academy calendar, using her family's resources and influence to amplify the reach and impact of these endeavors.
Whether it was organizing food drives for the local homeless shelter, spearheading fundraising campaigns for underprivileged students, or lending a hand in the school's environmental conservation efforts, Minju's presence was a constant and welcomed one. Gone were the days of her tyrannical reign; in its place, a newfound spirit of collaboration and camaraderie began to take root.
(Y/N) remained a steadfast ally throughout this process, his steadfast support and guidance a crucial lifeline for Minju as she navigated the treacherous waters of redemption. Together, they worked tirelessly to rebuild the bridges that Minju had once so carelessly burned, forging connections and alliances that would help to solidify her transformation.
But the road was not without its challenges. There were still those who viewed Minju's change of heart with a healthy dose of skepticism, unwilling to forget the pain and humiliation she had inflicted upon them. These were the battles Minju fought the hardest, confronting her past transgressions head-on and refusing to shy away from the uncomfortable truths that lay buried beneath the surface.
In one particularly poignant moment, Minju found herself face-to-face with Yuna, the very individual whose arrival had set in motion the events that had led to Minju's dramatic downfall.
The tension in the air was palpable as the two young women stood there, the weight of their shared history hanging between them. But to Minju's surprise, Yuna did not recoil or lash out – instead, her expression held a curious mixture of wariness and something akin to compassion.
"I... I know that what you did was wrong," Yuna began, her voice soft but resolute. "And I can't say that I've forgiven you, not completely. But I see the way you've been working to make amends, to truly change. And I... I respect that."
Minju felt a lump rise in her throat, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Yuna, I... I can't even begin to apologize for the way I treated you. It was unforgivable, and I know that. But I want you to know that I am truly, deeply sorry. And I promise, I will spend every day for the rest of my life trying to make it right."
To her surprise, Yuna offered her a tentative smile. "I believe you, Minju. And I'm willing to give you a chance – a chance to prove that you've changed, and that you're worthy of forgiveness."
It was a small, yet significant victory for Minju – a testament to the power of resilience and the possibility of redemption. And as she watched Yuna walk away, Minju felt a newfound sense of purpose and determination surge within her.
She knew that the road ahead would still be long and arduous, but with each step forward, she could feel the weight of her past sins slowly lifting from her shoulders. And with (Y/N) by her side, a constant source of support and encouragement, Minju was more determined than ever to see her transformation through to the end.
As the months turned into years, Minju's impact on the Evergreen community only grew. She became a tireless advocate for inclusivity and social justice, using her family's resources and influence to enact real, meaningful change. Her once-loyal followers, once blinded by her tyrannical reign, now looked upon her with renewed respect and admiration, seeing in her a leader worthy of their trust.
And through it all, (Y/N) remained a steadfast presence in her life, their bond growing stronger and more profound with each passing day. Minju marveled at the way he had always believed in her, even when she had been at her lowest, and she knew that without his unwavering support, her journey to redemption would have been all but impossible.
As they stood together, side by side, on the day of their graduation, Minju couldn't help but feel a deep sense of pride and accomplishment. She had come so far, overcoming the darkest parts of her past to emerge as a true leader, one who was beloved and respected by her peers.
And as she looked into (Y/N)'s eyes, Minju knew that this was only the beginning – the start of a new chapter, one filled with endless possibilities and the promise of a brighter future for them both.
As the sun set on their final day at Evergreen Academy, Minju and (Y/N) found themselves standing on the steps of the main building, the warm evening air carrying the faint scent of blooming flowers.
The campus was alive with the energy of their fellow graduates, laughter and voices mingling together in a joyful cacophony. But for Minju and (Y/N), this moment felt tinged with a bittersweet edge, a realization that their time at this school – a place that had once been the epicenter of their lives – was now drawing to a close.
Minju turned to (Y/N), her eyes shimmering with a complex tapestry of emotions. "I can't believe it's over, (Y/N). It feels like just yesterday we were walking these halls for the first time, full of excitement and trepidation."
(Y/N) nodded, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "A lot has changed since then, hasn't it? For both of us."
Minju's gaze grew introspective as she contemplated the journey that had brought her to this moment. "You've been by my side through it all, (Y/N). I don't know if I would have had the strength to overcome my past without you."
(Y/N) reached out, his hand finding hers and giving it a gentle squeeze. "You did that all on your own, Minju. I may have been there to support you, but the courage and determination to change – that was all you."
Minju felt a lump rise in her throat, her fingers intertwining with his. "I couldn't have done it without you, (Y/N). You believed in me when no one else did, and you never gave up on me, even when I had given up on myself."
(Y/N) pulled her into a warm embrace, his arms enveloping her in a comforting shield. "You're stronger than you know, Minju. And I'm so proud of the person you've become."
They stood there for a long moment, the sounds of their graduating class fading into the background as they savored the quiet intimacy of the moment. Minju could feel the steady rhythm of (Y/N)'s heart, a soothing cadence that had become as familiar to her as her own.
As they pulled apart, their gazes locked, and Minju felt a surge of emotion that she had long since buried deep within her heart. The walls she had so painstakingly constructed – the barriers that had once protected her from the pain of vulnerability – had crumbled away, leaving her raw and exposed.
"(Y/N)," she began, her voice barely above a whisper. "I... I don't know what the future holds for us, but I do know one thing. You've become more than just a friend to me. You're... you're my everything."
(Y/N)'s eyes widened, and for a moment, Minju could see the same vulnerability reflected in his gaze. "Minju, I... I feel the same way. I've always felt this connection between us, even when everything else was falling apart."
Minju felt her heart racing, the weight of his words settling warmly in her chest. "Then... what does this mean, (Y/N)? Where do we go from here?"
(Y/N) reached up, his fingers gently caressing her cheek. "It means that we face the future together, Minju. Whatever challenges lie ahead, we'll confront them side by side, just like we always have."
Minju felt a tear of joy escape the corner of her eye, her hand coming up to cover his. "I don't know what I'd do without you, (Y/N). You've been my anchor, my guiding light, through it all."
(Y/N) leaned in, his forehead resting against hers. "And I'll always be here for you, Minju. No matter what."
As their lips met in a tender, passionate kiss, Minju felt a sense of peace and belonging wash over her. The weight of her past had been lifted, replaced by a boundless hope for the future – a future that she would build, hand-in-hand, with the person she had grown to love more than anything.
The world beyond the walls of Evergreen Academy awaited, brimming with endless possibilities. And with (Y/N) by her side, Minju knew that she was ready to face it head-on, determined to forge a path that would continue to inspire and uplift those around her.
This was not the end, but a new beginning – a chance to write the next chapter of their story, one that would be filled with love, growth, and the pursuit of a brighter, more just world.

honestly fascinating how informed consent and the tyrant directly parallel one another and echo one another and force cameron to grapple with her own beliefs and morality: in informed consent she wants to vaguely "protect" the patient, from treatment he doesn't want, from his own desires, to the point that she tries to opt out of the case entirely: she doesn't agree he should be treated against his will. she doesn't agree he should be allowed to die. she doesn't agree he should be killed. she's all over the place, and the other characters call her out on it repeatedly:
HOUSE: But you do; you know everything. CAMERON: I didn’t say that I — HOUSE: Exactly! You can’t decide if we’re helping or hurting him; if he’s good or bad; or if you want paper, plastic, or a burlap sack. Do your damn job.
she wants to be right, to do the right thing; she completely freezes up when there isn't a clear answer. she tries to take a morally superior stance. she tries to opt out. you can't, she is told.
this is a flaw cameron has to grapple with fairly regularly: faced with a difficult situation, she runs or avoids. she quits her job (role model). she ghosts chase (saviors). she freezes when she doesn't know what to do.
the tyrant sees her running into the same problem. in this case, it seems obvious to cameron: dibala is evil. he should die. done. except… she's still waffling. she keeps hinting that something should happen, that someone should do something, but she stops short of being willing to take action herself. eventually, dibala himself calls her out on this: if cameron wants him dead, then go ahead and kill him. she freezes. she doesn't.
DIBALA: You tell my colonel I'm a sick, dying old man who can't be trusted. CAMERON: I didn't say… DIBALA: You were trying to put a gun in his hand and point it at my head. The gun is now in your hand. That is a practical difference, not a moral one. If you want me dead, then pull the trigger. It is not so easy when you have to do it yourself.
she wants to opt out. she doesn't want to make a difficult decision. she doesn't know what's right, so she freezes.
in informed consent, she and the patient also have a conversation. he is surprised when, after spending much of the episode waffling and opting out of his care, cameron arrives in his room to get a sample from him; they talk about the bad things ezra has done and cameron grows impatient and takes a skin sample without permission.
and the patient is happy for her. she is making a decision. she is taking action. his line is echoed directly by dibala in the tyrant:
EZRA: Good for you. Finally standing up for something; acting on what you believe.
DIBALA: She is too weak to act on her beliefs. That is not her fault. Most everyone is. […] Men make choices.
at the end of informed consent, cameron makes a choice: to help the patient die, as he wants. at the end of the tyrant, cameron makes a choice: she can't tell people to kill dibala if she isn't willing to herself, so she devotes herself to curing him instead. she comes to opposite conclusions in the two cases -- but she's acting according to her beliefs. she's picking a side. she makes a choice.
#malpractice posting#allison cameron#tbh even though the tyrant is kind of considered a chase episode for what he does at the end#it is 500% a cameron episode

I really appreciate that Tech needed to go talk and apologize Omega after snapping at her in “The Crossing.”
Because there’s another few ways “The Crossing” could have gone. One way would have been Hunter or Wrecker going and talking to Omega on Tech’s behalf. “You’ve got to give him some slack, he’s just upset about Echo, too,” and so on, without Tech ever having to make the effort to patch things over. Or, alternatively, it could have gone the route of Tech just being a jackass who only learns to give a shit because Omega teaches him how.
But what it actually does is neither of these. It walks a far more complicated line. Omega and Tech butt heads because they’re both grieving and dealing with it in complete opposite ways. Omega’s frustrated because she needs them to talk about the elephant in the room (Echo leaving), but none of her brothers are actually helping and they aren’t talking it out with her. Tech is frustrated because he isn’t being given any space to deal with it and things just. Keep. Going. Wrong. She starts breaking down because everything is falling apart. He snaps and yells at her because he reached the end of his tether a while ago.
But she’s a child, and he’s one of the adults responsible for her; and what I like is that while the episode is sympathetic to why Tech is frustrated in that moment, it doesn’t let him off the hook for taking it out on her and, to be fair to him, he doesn’t exactly let himself off the hook for it either. The only excuse he has for not going and talking to Omega when he’s called out is that she said she wanted to be alone, and once Hunter and Wrecker explain that that was…eh, not exactly a lie, but something like a lie, he goes to try and talk things out.
Anyway, the reason I like this, besides the fact that Tech’s and Omega’s relationship means the world to me, is twofold. One, there are a lot of fictional characters (mostly men) whose characterization vaguely—very vaguely—resembles Tech’s. Part of a running theme with all the rest is that they tend to be deliberately insulting, harsh, mean, and so on to everyone and anyone they can be, and they get away with it because they’re clever, funny, hiding secret insecurity, or the writer’s barely disguised superiority complex. Tech is blunt and direct; there’s a few times he’ll say something a little insensitive and catch himself too late (for example: he seems to realize how the, “more machine than man,” line sounds versus how he meant it a second after he says it and clumsily softens it with, “Percentage-wise, at least,” to explain that he’s not saying Echo is less of a person, just trying to explain why the chip programming didn’t work; the lack of follow up to, “It ate the crew,” might be another example), or be sarcastic on purpose. But the one time he really crosses a line he is called out for it and does his best to make it right. Which means his characterization takes on a very different track than a lot of other versions of the type.
Two, I think it’s important for the target audience to see a caretaker apologize and act like a young girl’s feelings matter.
#anyway trying to clear out my drafts still#pointing this out because I love the balance in this episode#between Omega turning out to be wrong about Trch not caring and needing to understand him a little better#and Tech needing to open up a little in order to help Omega through a difficult time#it turns the normal script of ‘autistic person is taught how to love’ on its head#and in fact goes out of its way to make sure the audience knows that Tech has loved his family the whole time and how to recognize that#while also going out of its way to make sure we know Omega was right to be upset#and that she needed someone to help her through losing Echo#by really beautifully bridging the communication gap between the two#it’s two people butting heads and then bonding over a shared grief and it’s wonderful

I find sukuna's enraged reaction to being pitied so interesting, considering that he, himself, admitted that he didn't expect that someone (or maybe just yuuji) offering him pity would anger him so much. honestly looking at all sukuna's interaction with other characters like jogo, yuuji, gojo... the contrast in how he talks about being strong and how he talks about being weak is quite striking.
despite having a huge superiority complex, he never gives any boasting comments about himself, like gojo for example. he even praises others, sorcerer and curses alike, for their strength, which again is contrary to gojo who often belittles and degrades his opponents. however, sukuna's behaviour is not actually opposite of gojo's, because while he admires others' strength, he finds being weak disgusting in itself. you see, gojo never had a problem with other people being weak because being weak is not something he could ever relate to like "yeah, those guys are weak but how is that my problem?". others being weak never really disgusted him, not like it does sukuna, but rather amused him (probably why he teased and bullied utahime and ichiji so much lol) anyway, my point is that, sukuna's attitude doesn't contrast gojo's, it mirrors it.
gojo's problem was that he was obsessed with being the strongest. he desperately wanted to live up to his title, but not because he had some deep-seated insecurity about being weak, but because that's all he's ever been. he wrapped his entire identity around it, which in result made him believe that he could only relate to people who were just as strong as him. then there is sukuna... who on the other hand... (dramatic pause)... is obsessed with being weak or rather he desperately doesn't want to be seen as someone who's weak. sukuna keeps insulting and belittling yuuji for being weak, despite yuuji CLEARLY not being weak. yuuji's own humanity and the strength he derives from it, exposes sukuna's own deep-seated weakness and dare I say... insecurity.
at the beginning of this post I said how sukuna has a big superiority complex, which now, after the recent canon events it almost borderlines with an inferiority complex. the thing is that, superiority complex and inferiority complex are kinda the same thing. they both stem from a deep-seated feeling of inadequacy, with the only difference being that someone with an inferiority complex tends to express these feelings as anxiety and submissiveness, whereas someone with a superiority complex overcompensates by acting as if they're god's gift to mankind, which is the later for both sukuna and gojo. however, unlike gojo, whose own superiority complex comes from the fact he was treated like a god by everyone in his clan since he was born, sukuna's superiority complex and its origins can still only be found in the subtext. we know that he was born an unwanted little wretch and people hated him, most likely feared him due to his own abnormal appearance and probably later his overwhelming strength. I don't want to dive too much into this since we don't actually know sukuna's backstory, we can only speculate based on what we know. however, it's his conversation with yuuji after he possessed megumi that interest me the most. he says...
Well, saying it from my perspective; why are all of you so weak. Why (are you) so obsessed over living despite being so weak
and let's not forget, sukuna is the only character who thinks yuuji is weak, which makes the rest of his speech all the more interesting, as he continues...
How can living things who keep collapsing easily say that they wish to be happy forever?
now this is funny, because several chapters later he admitted that no matter how many times he tries to break yuuji, he keeps getting back up, he's either contradicting himself again (and well.. he IS) or...
It’s better for all of you to spend your whole life crushing fitting misfortune for you
he's not only referring to yuuji here... sukuna genuinely believes that the weak should spend their whole lives chewing on their suffering, as is their natural state... but why?
after yuuji offered sukuna mercy, sukuna felt looked down upon and got down right pissed, which even shocked sukuna himself. why would that offend him? after all, he KNOWS he's strong not even gojo's taunts could get to him or yorozu trying to teach him about love, something he supposedly already knows about. why did yuuji offering him sympathy enraged him so much? shouldn't he just laugh in his face for believing he could beat him?? it seems like.. MAYBE.. in that moment, yuuji unintentionally touched on a very sore spot there, revealing sukuna's own insecurity: being seen as weak.
#god am I making sense? I'm yapping again and Im clearly not normal about sukuna#he's just so messy... I keep rotating him in my mind at all hrs of the day#this post is just me talking to myself btw#I just wanted to get this out of my head#ryomen sukuna#jjk 266#jjk leaks#should I tag gojo???...
