I am actually not that big a fan personally, of engaging critically with the portrayal of characters by the authors in media

Luke yes I think it's important. Yes I will still do it to an extent. But if I deeply care abt a piece of media I don't want to direct the characters that make me feel like a person and the people's work who have given me such joy and look at all the negative aspects of it.

Dont get me wrong I think it is important. And I love engaging critically with the wider meaning and aspects of the media. But engaging with characters for me is simply that. Engaging with them as characters, in the same way that children play with toys. I don't want to use them to look into the way that the creators think, feel, create, view the world and the people in it etc, I just want to put characters I like into senarios.

The boys, especially Remus, love fall. It's pretty, and it's still nice enough outside to go for walks, but also cool enough that a cup of tea and it's steam helps warm a chilled nose.

The three of them loved it even more after they met you, a true Fall Fan. You loved every aspect of it, the apple orchard, the pumpkin patch, halloween, falling leaves, everything.

So the boys dive head first into fall now that you're stuck by their sides.

They 100% plan group halloween costumes! They'll buy everything they need from the thrift store, and they'll sew things/glue things if need be. You get to pick what the theme is, but you leave the adult stuff like hot glue, sewing needles, and the pain of having to somehow make retractable bat wings to them.

They definitely hand out buckets of candy to the others in the dorm, making sure you get to go trick or treating from room to room. Filling your pillow case with small snacks that are somehow all your favorite things ...

Remus is a amateur photographer, so when fall comes around he makes you, Sirius, and James all pose in different ways for his portfolio. He does his best to capture the movement right when you throw leaves in the air, and he tries his best to get the three of you to do some more serious poses.

James loves going apple picking, he did it as a kid and couldn't wait to take you. All four of you walk around from tree to tree picking different apples to take home, warm apple cider in your hands, well their hands, they won't let you hold the cup since it didn't come with a lid.

Sirius is the perfect companion to carve pumpkins with. He's good at art, and so every time you come up with some crazy idea for a carving he's already rolling up his sleeves and grabbing his sketch pad.

Walks through the castle grounds become your favorite thing. Kicking through leaf piles, or jumping in them. Finding pretty leaves to hang in your dorm room window. Fighting with James over who found the biggest leaf (it was you, but you said he won so he wouldn't be sad)

The boys definitely surprise you with little fall gifts here and there. A pair of black cat socks one day, a mug shaped like a pumpkin on a random Thursday, a bat stuffed animal another day. You cherish them with your whole heart, and jump up and down every time they say they have a surprise.

They take turns making up fall related bedtime stories, Sirius' are always sort of scary, James' are silly every time, and Remus' you swear should become a children's book writer because his are the most well rounded.

All in all fall with the boys is the best time of the year. It's action packed, and full of little adventures, and it's a season stuffed to the brim with fun activities.

okay here’s the thing- you should NEVER feel bad for liking fictional characters. Shipping people, headcanoning characters a certain way, etc is all YOUR way of interacting with fandom and there’s nothing wrong with it! Just because some random person says “canon James potter would never” doesn’t mean you should change how you do things. Why? First of all, NONE OF THESE CHARACTERS ARE REAL. We don’t know what canon anyone would do because they don’t exist. Second, how the fuck does that person know? Are they friends with James Potter? No. Are they friends with the author? I hope not because she’s trash. And thirdly, it’s nobody’s business to judge you for seeing things differently.

honestly it makes me a bit mad that people like this are making others feel bad because the point of fandom is to interact with people who share your interests and not judge people who have different ones. Some people need to remember the concept “don’t like, don’t read”

I only really read fanfics from fandoms that are either old as hell ( so a lot of the people writing and reading in it have been here a while ) or dead as hell ( which…yeah ) so when I saw posts here on tumblr about comments and fandom engagement decreasing as a whole I did agree because, yeah even in older fandoms there’s a decrease. But man. after almost five years of staving it off I dipped my toe into the marauders fandom and a) wow this thing is popular people are posting SO MANY FICS on a daily basis on ao3 and b) nobody is commenting. It’s so weird. The fic can be fantastic and there’ll be maybe 1 comment. You can see the fic is popular- there’s kudos and hits but like. No one is commenting. I’m regularly surprised by fics where I go to read the comments cause I like doing that and there’s…nothing???? Another thing I noticed, and this is probably only a marauders thing, is that most fics are wildly long. Regularly over a 100k. And they still don’t have as many comments as they should. I’m losing my mind

that is terrifying to hear not gonna lie 😭 i fear for what the world is becoming, where people only know how to be passive readers ("consumers") and do not know how to engage or interact with a community.

fandom is homogenising much in the way that irl media is. packaging itself for mass consumption, rehashing the same popular ideas that are considered "safe", to the point where anything else is either seen as bad, or not seen at all. and on top of that, caring more about quantity, posting as much as quickly as possible to gain "views", rather than aiming to create and curate work that is unique and specific to an audience.

fanfic has always been a labour of love both ways. writers who write what they love, and readers who read what they love, and a community bonding over that mutual affection. it is not a service, not for "consumption", not for profit. it is meant to be shared! i think it's absolutely bananas that we've reached a point where someone can post 100k and not get comments 😭

i really hope some of these people will reconsider the way they view fandom, and understand that when writers ask for comments they are not just asking for encouragement but also for connection 💕

When it comes to fandom friends how do you move from just being moots to being friend friends? I saw a video you made about it when somebody had asked you a similar question but I’m really struggling with getting them to feel like friends and not just random accounts in my phone.

I’ve seen videos people have made and you guys are sharing jokes in the comments. I saw video of 3 girls that said “Us when anyone hates on mesrsrobyn” and you said like “Fan behaviour” which obviously shows that you’re actually their friend and you’re just teasing them.

Also how do you find people who are ok with you not responding all the time (😭😭😭) I’m just genuinely not active very much on any forms of social media. I was in a marauders gc and I was really happy thinking I was gonna make fandom friends but because I wasn’t active all the time they had a bunch of inside jokes I didn’t get and I kinda felt like an outsider.

Most of the people I see you interacting with online seem really cool and fun, so I’m just wondering where to find people like that. Just genuinely from posting?

hi! i feel less angry? I guess right now so I thought I'd talk about it a little bit more.

I've been in the marauders fandom for almost four years. I've been posted fics here for almost three and it wasn't always like this. I feel like at some point there was some community in it. Then there was a switch, people from tiktok turned the "community" into "trade of content" in a sense. It didn't feel like everyone was just interacting with each other, it was just writers writing for the readers and the readers promoting it on tiktok and not actually talking about it with the writer. Not the the writers all write for people to read it I mean more so on the readers side of it that's how it feels.

I know for a fact the only reason I have anyone reading my fics is because I got here early and wrote Teach Them How To Dream. When I wrote my first fic people actually read it! Who knew? I only posted it on tumblr and people liked it and interacted and it felt like an actual community. That was back when no one was posting on the jegulus tag on tumblr for days at a time. Now I go into the ao3 tags for jegulus and it feels like a graveyard because no one is reading anything.

I know there's nothing I can do to fix this. I can scream from the rooftops and no one will hear. Even if they did it's not like anything will happen, as why I needed to take a step back and stop feeling so fucking bad about everything. All I can say though is I wrote for arcane and read jayvik fics all the time and it's just so different. It feels so nice and like people are actually around. This might just be because it's a really popular fandom right now but it's miles away from the marauders fandom.

I know this won't reach everyone I'm not tagging this shit and there's a chance no one will read this, but if I can do anything I'll tell you to give love to the people you interact with in this fandom. If that means commenting on your favorite fics because you were thinking about them or rereading them. If it means commenting on the new WIP your reading. Or sending asks to your favorite writers, your favorite mutuals, your favorite artists, or the people who don't write or draw and are just apart of the fandom. Interact with them, show them some love because in this fandom it can be really hard to come by.

This story (harry potter) has so so SO many ships, like everyday we get a new pairing ...you can't tell me the only reason why wolfstar has been so popular for nearly 20 yrs is bc we didn't get interaction between marauders... otherwise what? prongsfoot would be the most popular one or Wolfstar would not be this popular? because we always knew that Sirius and James were extremely close. it's literally there..in the books...we know that.

I never understand the "Sirius was closer to James" argument...yes they were so close but that didn't stop James from falling in love with lily (shocking right? these days ppl tend to forget that this man was in love with someone that is not reggie and they got maried and had a child who this whole series is about)

Hi, yeah, soo first of all, thanks for this ask, actually! I mean, I share my thoughts and I appreciate it when someone actually takes the time to read it and especially when they have something to say about it! I'm afraid that's gonna be one very long answer coming at you.

Second, I feel the need to start with this here cause likee, these things I wrote are just a bunch of random canon facts (plus one I just think makes sense) that I realised after going through some stuff and they sent me into a near depression episode because I have totally forgotten most of these things thanks to fanon and I think I'm not the only one. I actually lost a bit of sleep that night.

Third, I knew my wording in that part of the post was weird and was going to create the wrong ideas. So don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Wolfstar. Likee, to me they make sense and I hate what happened in the end. I just meant they're a popular ship because we really get to see lots of interactions between them. And the reasoning is that we got to see these interactions between them as adults, with one of their best friends already dead and one of them (and later the other) aware that it's another one that killed him. We basically get to see only their dynamic and that's what started the ship.

But about what I said that maybe they wouldn't have been that popular if we had seen more interactions between all four of them was based on if we had seen the whole story in chronological order. Without the knowledge that James is going to die or that Peter would betray them.

And I don't think if that was the case, people would have shipped James and Sirius much more. I'm a firm believer that there is this level of platonic friendship that is so strong that there is absolutely no way it can be seen as something else, and this is exactly the type of friendship between Sirius and James. Why I mentioned the closeness between them was just because a lot of people somehow seem to forget that they were the closest ones and instead seem to believe that Sirius and Remus were the closest ones because we first saw them interact as adults when the others weren't around. Not to also mention the Prank or some other things that might have made people a bit wary of the ship. So I think that if we had seen the story in that order, maybe they would have still become a popular ship but not as fast or maybe there would have been people shipping the two of them with other people too, maybe even Peter. Or maybe we would have seen evidence of them being closer to canon than we thought!

I also want to say that in any case, I have things which I love and ship but I also don't mind other people's ships and I don't judge, even if I don't see the appeal myself and I might even read things that have such ships in the background, as long as what I ship is not in any way harmed (e.g. read a fic where one of the people in a ship I have is with someone else). Like, I might dislike a ship only if it is abusive or there is something that's really not okay with it. As I shared a post earlier, there are some ships I don't entirely understand but this doesn't mean I hate them. In that trail of thoughts, I also understand most of people's hcs and somewhat fanon facts that everyone accepts and I don't mind these at all.

14. When you first entered the fandom, who did you think was gonna be your main man? (and were you correct?)

I fell in love with Wrecker as soon as he charged off the Marauder in TCW S7, and he's still my main man! What was a surprise to me was how much my opinion of Crosshair changed over the series - which is, I think, the point. I really didn't care for him in TCW, and of course he was set up as the primary antagonist of TBB S1. But "The Solitary Clone" episode made me re-evaluate. Also I have a pathological need to take care of people, and my love language is feeding people, so the minute Rampart interrupted his lunch, I was all aboard the "Give Crosshair a Nap and a Snack" train.

28. Tell me a random headcanon you have about Wrecker

I think at this point it's pretty well accepted in the fandom that Wrecker is smart AF (man literally built a cannon out of scraps while being shot at), but I have a very specific headcanon about why he acts less intelligent than he is, and it's based on my own sibling interactions. We've seen how important it is to Tech to be seen as The Smart One™, and Wrecker, being the emotionally intelligent king that he is, is happy to take a back seat in that area to let his brother shine. It frees Wrecker up to focus on his own thing, which includes just being chill and having a good time, and it makes Tech happy.

If Tech is indeed dead (and I waffle on whether I think he is truly gone or not), I think this is going to present an opportunity for some really interesting character development for Wrecker in Season 3. We saw at the beginning of Season 2 how much Hunter struggled without Tech when he and Wrecker were trying to escape Castle Serenno, and that was just one mission. The Batch really lean on each other's strengths, and when someone is missing (like Echo post-S2 E8), they feel that loss keenly; not just in an emotional sense, but also in their effectiveness as a team. Wrecker is going to have to step up in a major way without Tech there to do the braining.

I do feel like Wrecker's character development has been subtle and mostly in the background up to this point, and I'm really hoping that he'll get his moment to shine in the final season - though given what the show did to Tech, I would be kriffing terrified if he started getting a lot of character development out of nowhere.

well, to brief you on the 'history' of Party, or Barty x Peter, the ship got kind of popular on tiktok, (im pretty sure there's a specific marauders tiktoker who was slightly responsible for it, but i cant recall their @, sorry)

it got popular as a crackship, or people really only shipped them as a joke, which tbh from my pov makes me kinda pissed 😭 since you saw my previous post abt them (here) you can see why,

i feel like they make sense since their stories are slightly similar in a few ways? both of them were said to have influences outside of their family that were the reasons for them becoming deatheaters, i can imagine that Peter hung around the same kind of people Barty did in the end (most likely in secret)

besides im pretty sure they're in some scenes together in canon? or at least in the movies, which makes them have actual canonical interactions lmao

not only do their stories connect i feel like with their fandom interpretations, (the most popular headcanons with them) they would have a fun dynamic,

i dont really know how to explain itbut ig i see it as Barty being more chaotic and loud and Peter being more quiet and closed off, so it's like a balance in a way? i feel like Peter deserves a person who makes him feel important, yk?

obviously i dont like it when the other marauders treat peter badly or make him feel ignored (not on purpose) and i dont usually use that in stories, but in this sense i feel like Barty would be able to help Peter build confidence to stand up for himself,

Hey Cas, I’m a bit confused around the operation of Tumblr and genuinely don’t know who else to ask, so here we go. Feel free not to answer though if you don’t want to.

I’ve been using Tumblr for a few months now and get very, very little interaction with anything I post. I’m in the marauders fandom and I occasionally post microfics, as well as other skits etc. And they get zero interaction. Literally zero. I know it’s content people would give notes on because when wolfstar microfic etc. reblog my posts (after being tagged), it will get 20-40 notes, but it just doesn’t seem to ever get interacted with otherwise?

I was just wondering if there was a button I had accidentally pressed, or if it is just that no-one wants to interact with the content I’m posting, what could I do to improve it?

Anyway sorry for the long ask. And otherwise, Thank you so much for the content you post - it really brightens my day reading your microfics and other things :)

I TOTALLY understand how you're feeling, I had the same confusion when I first started on here. I DO have to say that...if you're like looking to build a huge fanbase of millions or become an influencer or something, this might not be the place. This is more the place to find a group of a bunch of people to hyperfixate together :D But it's a WONDERFUL place to find the BEST people 😍 Honestly, I see Tumblr as much more of a community than other places, because people don't just post content- they shitpost, and post their feelings, and they're much more real, overall. But that's why I like it!

Here's a couple pointers to start building community, though:

Tag EVERYTHING. With a lot of tags. Things pop up on peoples' "for you" and "your tags" feeds this way. The more tags you put, the more likely you are to get interaction and to find people who like the same things you do.

Follow people! Tumblr doesn't have the same weird, unspoken rules about 'follower ratio' or anything like that as other sites. Follow people, they'll follow you back, they'll be more likely to see your stuff, and you'll see some cool stuff too!

Reblog other people's work. If you see something awesome, reblog it! It'll help YOU because people will see that you reblogged it. It'll help THEM because their posts will be pushed more, too.

Message people! Send them inboxes! People here are nice! Reach out and make friends!

Keep in mind that Tumblr isn't the same as ao3 or tiktok. It's not a content machine, and it's not JUST content. It's fun and funny and it has so many different sides. But you're going to meet some amazing people.

While I'm here, a point for everyone:

if you DO want to support content: Reblog, don't just like! Reblogging pushes posts to other people. It keeps posts alive and it's encouraging to people who make posts! It's like saying, "Hey! Look at this cool post I saw!" PLEASE reblog things!

So I’m extra late to the party, I just fell randomly on your post. But I’m going to react, bc I really agree with a part of your view, especially the marauder part. Keep in mind that I haven’t read any of the books in years, so I’m going with the lingering impression they left me with. So I’m not going to compare with the Golden Trio, or with the Malfoy’s friendship. Because I never had big thought on them.

First thing being : the entire story is a harry POV, so a subjective one, and from a 11 year old child with skewered biased views on society, coming from his primary socialization: the Dursley family. In the first book at least. Of course, he is going to see his father’s friend as a cool group, and of course his childhood rival and friends are going to be ugly idiots. And he is going to make fun about people’s face’s, and be dehumanizing, because as a child he always was, and he witnessed his aunt and uncle being dehumanizing talking about everything and everyone. He reproduce a pattern, because no one ever call him out. He went straight from the Dursley’s to almost raising himself in school (and meeting trauma after trauma along the way). He had a few parenting figures after that, the Weasley parents especially, but he saw them what, a few weeks every year? And they already had to parent a lot of other children. He was a calm child who never really was mean or violent towards anyone, so he was left alone most of the time. nobody parented him, he reproduced things he saw.

So yes, he may have all the defaults you listed. He also may have had an unweakened bisexuality that only showed up as “this man is so handsome. Yes he murdered my parents, but he is objectively gorgeous”. And we need to read this POV more critically, because it is not an omniscient narrator, but a subjective POV, and as we are not 11 anymore, we can begin to search for little psychological cues about Harry’s bias, and about how things really happened.

About the Slytherins: I don’t have a specially negative feeling about them. I think they were a group already formed when they entered Hogwarts, so they didn’t completely mixed with the other kids. And yes, I feel draco really cared about Crabbe, who he knew since they were both in diapers. Their relationship can’t be compared to the one of the golden trio or the marauders, who met in their first yea at Hogwarts. It’s a different dynamic is all.

About the golden trio, yes, Harry imprinted on Ron who was the first nice kid to him, and had an epidermic reaction to draco being condescending to his new friend. The first interaction in Mrs. Malkin was not a bad one, I don’t remember him having strong feelings about Draco at that time, draco who was only doing small talks, as he was trained to do, not especially friendly, or unfriendly. He was eleven and overwhelmed because his whole world just went bang. About Hermione : yes, sometimes it feels like pity friendship.

The marauder analysis is going to be the big part of this. Because the fascinating part of the marauder, that I don’t think JKR intentionally made up, is that they are the perfect representation of the dynamic of a small group of school bullies. And I say that as a person who met some.

And you pointed some of those elements:

For me, the core of the Marauder has always been James and Sirius.

James was an only child from a rich family (I think that’s canon), who, at 11, was kind of arrogant, but also raised in some values that he should care about others. And then he met Sirius, eldest (but not only) child of a rich and not so good family (having “met” the eldest version of his mother in canon, this clearly was an abusive household).

Sirius who was already rejecting in his mind everything that came from his family (I don’t think he already had a deep consciousness awakening  about his family’s value, just that he was extremely unhappy with his life), met James, and latched onto him (like Harry on Ron), as his first friend. And we can at least give it to James: he did not held the fact that Sirius was a Black against him immediately. This beginning of friendship is what gave Sirius the courage to make his final decision to go to Gryffindor (and it took a great deal of bravery, the hat wasn’t wrong about that. Snape, in a kind of similar situation, didn’t. But response to trauma differ from people to people and I digress).

Then came the two “minions”, as you said, Remus, and Peter.

Peter is a follower. Pure and simple. He is attracted to the aura of James and Sirius, he admires them, and love being part of the “popular” group. He is not really their friend (not deeply). And they (as you pointed out) are not very nice to him either. They  still make fun of him, and belittle him. He is just (I think) trying to go through his school years without being picked on too much. In situations where the group was bullying Snape or other people, he may even have been an aggravating factor, adding worse and worse ideas just to get approval from them.

And then there’s Remus. Often presented as the “nice one”, the one following the rules. That they may have picked by the goodness of their heart, because he was alone and sad, but was also extraordinarily convenient to the group : he was a brilliant student (I don’t remember, but I felt at some point that maybe they used him a little  for homework.. like Ron and harry did Hermione) and later a prefect. And as a prefect, he was very lenient with them and let them get away with a lot. Because he felt he owed them that. Because like peter, he was not “popular” coded, and felt grateful they took him in, even after they found out he was a werewolf, and he loved them for that. So no he never did anything to stop them.

And you are right on something else: they are never really presented as a group of bullies. Even in the half blood prince where it all blows up. The fact that Snape was their primary victim lowers the effect of this revelation(in my opinion), because at that point nobody likes him, and because he was also a little bitchy in school. They all were. They were teenagers. With magical powers. Obviously thing were about to go bumpy. So Harry is shocked by the fact his father and friends were not just brilliant pranksters, but also vicious bullies,  but not that much, because it is snape. And then Snapes murders Voldemort, so somehow, emotionally to harry (and to the reader) this seems to justify the bullying (see: they were right to attack him, he was bad from the start! which does not means this is true. Because their treatment of him participated in aggravating tendencies already present).

So will regret forever that this revelation didn’t come from another person, maybe someone Harry likes, and discovers they knew the marauders. So harry comes talk to them and gets an awkward face of someone who doesn’t want to talk ill of the boy’s dead’s parent. But they stuck him into a ceiling in his underwear in the middle of November, repeatedly humiliated them publicly and destroyed one of their most prized possession as a prank so he really doesn’t have great memory to share. And thinking about all that makes a panic attack begin so they just babble banality and flee to hyperventilate in peace.

So I’m not anti marauder, and not anti anyone really. And I agree with you one a thing in particular: the Potters are not all perfect, and the Malfoys are not all Shallow. They all have layers, imperfections. Good and bad moments. And thank the force for that : they are fleshed out characters who feel like people.

Double Standards: Malfoys vs Potters Edition

It's interesting how people view the Malfoy vs Potter men. The Malfoys are often considered shallow while the Potters are lauded for befriending the "downtrodden".

James Potter befriended Remus Lupin, a disadvantaged werewolf. He and his friends became animagi for Lupin. That's great and all...but then why was Remus so hesitant to go against the status quo and speak out against the marauders - to do his job as prefect?

And James treated Wormtail like trash too.

‘How thick are you, Wormtail?’ said James impatiently. ‘You run round with a werewolf once a month –’

Nice to say that out loud where anyone can hear, Jamie.

‘Put that away, will you,’ said Sirius finally, as James made a fine catch and Wormtail let out a cheer, ‘before Wormtail wets himself with excitement.’ Wormtail turned slightly pink, but James grinned.

“Lily and James only made you Secret Keeper because I suggested it,” Black hissed, so venomously that Pettigrew took a step backwards. “I thought it was the perfect plan… a bluff… Voldemort would be sure to come after me, would never dream they’d use a weak, talentless thing like you… it must have been the finest moment of your miserable life, telling Voldemort you could hand him the Potters.”

You really don't get the vibe that Sirius or James held little Petie in high regard, do you?

It can't be more obvious that Sirus and James were top dogs and Peter and Remus were just add-ons.

As for Harry, where to start with him? He shows little empathy for other people and has a nasty habit of describing people in dehumanizing ways (eg. Aberforth, Salazar Slytherin, Marcus etc). He has probably described Tom Riddle, the guy who murdered his parents, as attractive more times than his own girlfriend Ginny. He latched on to Ron because of his family and honestly, Hermione feels like a pity friend at times. Harry hardly likes being around her without Ron. Harry has another nasty habit of giving his best friends the silent treatment until they come crawling back to him, even when he is in the wrong too (re firebolt for Hermione and Ron believing Harry entered his name in the goblet of fire).

‘Hullo,’ said the boy, ‘Hogwarts too?’ ‘Yes,’ said Harry. ‘My father’s next door buying my books and mother’s up the street looking at wands,’ said the boy. He had a bored, drawling voice. ‘Then I’m going to drag them off to look at racing brooms. I don’t see why first-years can’t have their own. I think I’ll bully father into getting me one and I’ll smuggle it in somehow.’

Yet, no one seems to give Lucius and Draco any credit. These people are supposed to be snobby, pureblood supremacists. Yet, even though Harry was dressed in decrepit muggle clothes, Draco still engaged him in conversation. Draco had no idea who Harry was, had no clue he was famous at the time, and still made several efforts to talk with him and continue the conversation even when Harry was cold and aloof.

And Severus Snape moved off to the other side of the Hall, away from Lily, to where the Slytherins were cheering him, to where Lucius Malfoy, a prefect badge gleaming upon his chest, patted Snape on the back as he sat down beside him …

Lucius knows 'Snape' is not a pureblood name. He could see Snape's clothes were probably old hand-me-downs. He knows Snape is way below his class. Yet, he still welcomes Snape warmly to Slytherin. What reason would he have to fake pleasantries with a poor half-blood? I doubt Slughorn or the other bigoted purebloods would care if Lucius left his seat in disgust at Snape's presence. Even as adults, it is indicated in the narrative multiple times that Lucius holds Snape in high esteem. Draco held Snape in high esteem too despite being a halfblood.

The same Snape that James Potter tormented for no good reason - because Snape existed. Instead of targetting the purebloods like Avery and Mulciber, James and his delinquent loser gang went after Snape, the poor half-blood. Harry literally did nothing as Snape lay dying in the same shack that Lupin almost killed him in two decades prior.

Harry describes Pansy as being pug-faced...yet Draco still dated her. Even though Crabbe turned on him, Draco still grieved for him afterwards. Compared to Harry who only dates the prettiest girls and body shames other girls if they don't meet his standard and only cares about people who do things for him, like him and are loyal to him. It's only when the people he dislikes die for him that he changes his tune and suddenly they become great people.

How can people say the Potters are less shallow than the Malfoys??Draco and Lucius will always be high-class elitists who believe in sticking with their 'own kind' but give credit where credit is due.

Manipulating Death: Chapter Twelve

Series Summary: When Harry discovers he has a twin sister that was hiding for years, he wants to know all about her, specially about her ability to bring people back to life.

I know, I know, it's been a rough couple of months since I last posted something but i was just starting college (i passed in one of the top best in my country so I'm really glad), and now that everything's outta the way I can go back to writing so better get used to receive some news from me baby!

When summer came and Harry had to go back to Hogwarts and then back to his uncle’s house, Sirius was ready to throw hands.

The remaining marauders grew a very solid anger towards their old headmaster after everything Y/n and Regulus told them about, and were ready to disobey him one more time, however after some long days of talking, they decided to play the game.

If Dumbledore was allowed to lie to them and risk their lives as if they were a bunch of pawns, so could the Order.

So Harry, Hermione and Ron went to Hogwarts to finish their fifth school year, the Potter would write letters to his sister everyday and once every two days they’d talk through the fireplace.

He’d tell her how his day was, how he missed the twins fooling around, how Umbridge was such a pink bitch he could throw up; and Y/n would give small hints about how their search for the Horcruxes was going, and the best way to hex his professor without her knowing.

He avoided referring to her as a sister, and just went with “a very dear friend”, and also never mentioned Dumbledore, just in case he decided to somehow capture Edwiges and read the messages.

But they were so happy being able to talk to each other basically everyday after being almost sixteen years apart.

The boy was happy he, for once, could write home, to someone who was actually interested, some family.

Of course, before, he had Sirius, but the man saw him as a replacement for James, and Harry viewed him the same way; this was different, he didn’t saw Y/n as his mother, neither did her.

But it was pretty clear he was jealous whenever someone else interacted with her.

Like this time when Hermione told him she sent a letter to Y/n to ask about some potions and how she was healing, Harry turned red immediately and wondered why she was so worried if she wasn’t her sister.

Or whenever they were talking through the fireplace and Regulus would be right beside her in the room.

“It’s like” He mumbled, “You guys have your own families and I don’t interfere, let me have mine!”

Speaking about her healing, it took longer than expected, and she hid that from Harry, not wanting the boy to worry over nothing, but Regulus only allowed her to step out of the bedroom when her brother was going back to Petunia’s house.

“Honestly, I do think I will die here.” She confessed one day when he came in with her meal. “But of boredom.”

The day Harry had to go back to his uncle's, he decided to see his sister one last time before spending the entire summer without her.

And everyone got a pretty clear view from Harry's jealousy that day.

Remus left the house to receive the golden trio outside, not knowing an exact hour they'd be there, so it was just Regulus and Sirius downstairs and Y/n in her room.

The kids' presence not being exactly announced when they arrived, both Black Brothers thinking she'd be asleep and didn't wanted to bother the poor girl.

Well, they were wrong.

Because her voice came loud and clear, not even a little groggy: "Hey Reggie?"

They perked up at that, the man standing up.

"I'm bored, do you wanna come lay with me so I can play with your hair?"

Their eyes widened, staring at the younger Black in pure shock. He nodded his head at them, as in greeting goodbye and started going upstairs.

Mid-way he started running towards her, knowing she'd probably change her mind if he took too long. "Yes!"

Harry was fuming, as red as Ron's hair.

He busted into his sister’s room and finding her messing with Regulus’ curls. The boy shooed him away harshly and dropped his own head on her lap, staring at the Black with a cold glare that made Y/n laugh.

After a couple minutes, they decided to hang out with everyone else, and Harry would never leave his sister, following her around like a shadow and even making Regulus jealous, and it was so comic for his brother.

She told Harry things they couldn't talk about through letters, like the possessor's training that Reggie was responsible for, or how the Horcruxes hunt was going in full details.

"That reminds me, I got something for you." Y/n announced before sprinting upstairs, to which Regulus was really unhappy about. But she then came back a few moments later, with an old and messy hairbrush on one hand. "It was our father's, it's the only thing I have from him and I want you to have it."

"Are you sure?" He reluctantly asked, holding it as if it could break and disappear if he as much breathed on it. But Y/n shook her head yes with a huge smile.

"Consider it an early birthday gift."

The boy felt his eyes watering, sucking in a hiccup and holding the Potter in a tight hug that almost made him cry his eyes out.

Throughout the rest of the year, Harry would look at the hairbrush almost as if he was begging for his dad's guidance. He felt back on his third year, standing by the lake, with Sirius and his own image passing out on the other side, waiting for his dad to come and save the day.

Except that right now, he knew it was basically his own mind giving him advice. The boy was desesperately trying not to get his hopes high that Y/n could bring them back to life.

She sure was powerful, but after her death she appeared to get weaker and weaker by the day.

He'd get letters from Remus or one of the Black brothers saying she was too sick to write, that they'd keep him uptaded on any important news.

But how could Harry stay fucking calm? Deep down, he felt lied to. He had no reason to suspect his godfather or his sistser's godfather, but Merlin there was something wrong.

And he was right.

Because a week after he arrived at the Dursley's, Regulus Black woke up to an empty bed except for himself.

Calling out her name, no answer.

The basement just as empty as the bed.

Sirius and Remus? Clueless.

Kreacher? Obliviated.

Y/n Potter was, once again, missing.
