Some explanations/thoughts and bonus sketches under the spoiler (sorry for my attempts to write smth adequate in english, I’m.. not good at it......)

Okay first, yeah I think there’d be mostly (pure-bred) dogs in the police forces, like those that people can use as working dogs. Y’know, german shepherds, malinois, mastiffs etc etc. But not only them xd

As for Takagi, I from the very beginning thought of him as a dog (ofc lol), but kinda uhh different, a type that feels somewhat too mumbling for being in police, but not really, and still very promising and honorable. Therefore, he’s a mutt (but partially a german shepherd, who could be one of his close relatives) and has this one floppy ear that make him look a little more young/cute, and some square-ish shapes in the face. His coat coloring has a lot from a GSD, particularly that dark saddle, but other markings, especially spotty-like ones on the paw and neck, and a light face show he’s mixed

Also a fun fact, those pointy markings on the corners of his eyes are referenced to John and Jerome from Ginga series xdd

Tbh decide with the breed for Shiratori was hard at first. Like, I knew I wanted to make him a pure-bred dog (bc he’s a rich guy and for contrast w/ Takagi), with chocolate-colored coat, that would have curly hair and that’s nOT a poodle :”D And there aren’t really many breeds with curly hair! At least those that could still be recognisable as him. So, in the end I had to choose between aforesaid poodle and irish water spaniel, and I chose the latter. Welp, at least we know he’s a good swimmer lol

Btw a white bird marking was an idea of my friend when we learned that Shiratori literally translates as “white bird”. Even though any white spots for IWS are forbidden by the standard, I think it suits him and it can be like his family feature <)

Sato was decided as beauceron when me and my friend searched for some breeds that could fit her appearance, could be used as a police dog, feeling both kind and intimidating if necessary. I think that this one, which is originally a herding dog, both gentle and fearless, fits her pretty well <)) Although I tried to give her a usual black-and-tan coat, it felt overall too dark, so she’s a harlequin now. Ears are cropped and probably by her own choice here, so it would be harder for culprits to injure/bite them off xd Maybe it’s even a common practice for military/police/etc dogs in this AU

I also thought of how would look Kobayashi-sensei then, since she and Sato look quite alike, and I guess she’d be either a cattle dog or a koolie (probably the latter)

Inspector Megure was probably the easiest to design, I had a rough idea for him in my head, like, since the time we just started watching DetCo <D The harder part was to find a breed that fits that idea, with sand-colored coat and dark face and ears, and bullmastiff is just like that

one thing that i don’t really love about variety shows is sometimes they designate one member as the mc/judge because they have an odd number. which is fair! but also i like seeing everyone be able to participate, so i thought it’d be fun if they compete individually or in groups of 3 and then have an expert come in to moderate. so everyone can do it and it would be more educational for everyone too lmfao

they could invite special guests to come and teach them how to work with stuff like worbla or a sewing machine

volunteering mini series!

it really warms my heart to see people give back to the community, especially idols because it inspires a lot of fans to do so too!

it’d be really nice if maybe as a holiday special? they went around to different places and volunteered to spread awareness for the causes

maybe it’d be better if they split up?

the members can choose what they’re passionate about too

my personal suggestions/ideas would be:

a retirement home (they can perform music for the elderly people there. i’m thinking zhang hao and taerae would be a good combo)

a hospital

a soup kitchen

a community centre (i’d love to see hanbin and gunwook teach after school dance lessons to children)

and the proceeds for the episode could go towards different charities or programs for these places (ie if they need more funding or renovations) as well as a link for fans to donate more to these places

Story of Juligawa:

When twitter bots were still active there was this bot called the Cursed Prompt Guy (@a3_promptbot) that randomly generated prompts and characters together. One fateful day, it generated this prompt .

[ CHARACTERS: Tenma Sumeragi, July // PROMPT: Butterfly kiss, Loyalty ]

As you may notice there is no slash, meaning it's just the two characters, no ship whatsoever. this is important.

See the thing here is that the character, Tenma Sumeragi, is the son of two world-famous actors. He was a child actor for TV before he decided to choose his own path and become a theater actor (since A3! is about theater boys), being a child actor means he had a manager, right? Enter: Igawa.

I was staring at the prompt, and for an entire moment, I just randomly thought 'now why would July swear loyalty to Tenma Sumeragi?'. This thought was immediately followed by '... hmmm (goes on Twitter/Discord servers) hey guys how old is july/igawa again', and then my friends, indulgently, answered me on both platforms - they were within the age range of each other as respectable adults

And then I just SAT THERE because at that very moment my brain EXPLODED like I was JIMMY NEUTRON because this ship did NOT make sense at all and YET, AND YET EVERYTHING MADE SENSE in my head suddenly for some reason.

And my friends were like 'AYO HOLD ON HOLD ON RYU ARE YOU OKAY' and all I said was smth like 'sometimes things happen' and then about five hours later I published the first fic for them on Ao3. Apparently i wrote the fic at 8-ish PM on the same day I made the first doodle (at 6PM) then finished the fic around 11-ish PM.

And then my friend who is one of my ride-or-dies also published a fic around 12 midnight soon after me. I think the majority of the English-speaking fandom/western fandom who knows us thinks we're kinda crazy. It's okay we just like to indulge.

8. How did you come up with the title to [insert fic]?

I don't post my fics publicly for confidence reasons, but I'd be willing to talk about how I came up with my AU names!!!

"The Other Side AU" (with Mukai/S0 Yami) is a reference to "Friends on the Other Side" from Princess and the Frog, as I thought the song was very fitting (and Mukai being like... a manifestation/other side)!!

My most recent one ("The Legends of the Past", which will be discussed) is based on a current concept that isn't quite set in stone yet! Smth smth involving some fuckery with the history of Egypt and the legends of the past. Like I said, nothing's set in stone just yet!!

"The Millennium Kid" is also recent (and I haven't said anything ab it either), but it's based on the idea around it as well!! Dad Atem and Baby Yugi and their hijinks as Atem struggles to adjust to being a single young dad.

And uh... well it's not a YuGiOh, but then there's my "Meitantei Harley AU", which only just recently got a name! I basically ripped off the original name of the series/anime ("Meitantei Conan") and replaced Conan's name with Hattori's name in the English dub (Harley).

12. What's the funniest or craziest AU idea you've ever come up with?

SO, this AU would be "The Legends of the Past", a Transformers crossover AU. For the like... 3 people from my past blog, this AU was inevitable, but yeah. I won't say much (as the lore is still being worked on), but I WILL show WIPs of some designs (Joey, Serenity, and Yugi)! I'm sure if I got asked, I'd spill the beans ab it, but for now... I'll keep quiet on it ;). As of now, it kinda closely follows the story of Rise of the Beasts with slight changes!!

Rei had just finished closing the diner, and was heading back upstairs when he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He took it out and read the text as he opened the door to their apartment.

“Can u come get me pleeaaase?” The text said, accompanied by a string of emojis that made no sense. Rei rolled his eyes and laughed to himself, knowing by now that Kazuki was probably drunk. He had left shortly after the dinner rush to meet up with some friends.

Even though they moved out of the city when they bought the diner, Kazuki still kept in touch with a few of the moms from Miri’s old daycare. About once a month, they would meet up for coffee or drinks and catch up. Rei was also always invited, but someone had to run the restaurant when Kazuki was gone, and he didn’t mind having time to himself once in a while. He did know most of Kazuki’s friends, but the only one Rei was really friends with was Anna, Miri’s former daycare teacher. She had helped them a lot in their first few years with Miri, so Rei had gotten to know her fairly well.

Rei responded asking where to get Kazuki before going to knock on Miri’s door.

“Come in!” Rei opened the door to find her sitting at her desk, writing in her journal. Her short brown hair was tied back in a messy bun and she sat with her long legs crossed under her in her desk chair. It was hard for Rei to believe she was starting high school tomorrow, it seemed like just yesterday she was a toddler running around their apartment in the city. So much had changed, and yet she still had the same big smile.

“Hi Papa! What’s up?” She said, turning to face Rei.

“I’m going to pick up Kazuki. Do you want to come along?” He said, leaning against the doorframe. She thought about it for a second before responding.

“That’s okay, I still gotta shower and figure out what I’m wearing tomorrow.”

“I thought you had a uniform?”

“I do, but I gotta figure out what I’m doing with my hair and what earrings and shoes I’m gonna wear and stuff. I want to look nice for my first day of school!” She said. Rei smiled, he never went to school, so he didn’t really understand a lot of this stuff, but he was happy he had the chance to learn through Miri.

“That’s fine, hopefully I won’t be gone too long.”

“Where is Dad anyway? He’s out for a ladies night right?” Right on cue, Rei felt his phone vibrate in his pocket again. He took it out to see that Kazuki had sent him a pin with his location on it.

“1 Star Saloon…that sounds familiar?” He said, showing his phone to Miri.

“Oh! That’s right by the Boba place we go to. You know that place with all the neon signs in the window.” Miri said, standing up and taking Rei’s phone. She zoomed out on the map and turned it back to him.

“Well at least it’s closeby.” His phone buzzed again as another text from Kazuki came in, Miri turned it back around and quickly read it.

“Pfffft he’s definitely drunk” She said with a giggle as she handed the phone back to Rei.

“I lobve youuuuu so much thank you your my Rey of Sunshine you make me sohappyyyyyy” the text read. Another text came through that was just a bunch of hearts. Rei smirked and shook his head.

“I better go get him.” He sighed. He knew Miri was definitely going to tease Kazuki about that in the morning, but Rei was just thankful he hadn’t sent anything worse.

“Drive safe. Say hi to Auntie Anna for me if you see her!” Miri said, going to sit back down at her desk.

“Will do.” Rei said as he closed the door behind him. He texted Kazuki that he was on his way as he walked downstairs to their car.

It was only about a 10 minute drive to the bar. Even though they drove by the place all the time, he had never actually been inside.

Rei walked past the bouncer and immediately surveyed his surroundings. It was a pretty standard looking bar as far as he could tell. There were a decent amount of people there for a Sunday night, but the place definitely wasn’t full. He saw a group standing at a big round table towards the back corner and recognized the messy blonde hair of his partner. He slunk through the tables and chairs towards the back.

Anna saw Rei approach first, waving cheerfully to him. This got Kazuki’s attention and he turned around, gasping dramatically when he saw Rei.

“REI!!” He said, practically tackling him. After steadying himself, Rei waved awkwardly to Kazuki’s friends over his shoulder.

“I missed you!” Kazuki said, clumsily giving Rei a big kiss on the lips before moving to the side to kiss him multiple times on the cheek.

“Hey! Quit it!” Rei said, feeling his face getting hot. He tried to push away, but Kazuki had one arm tightly wrapped around his waist, while the other held Rei’s face in place as he continued to pepper kisses all over it.

“You two are so cute,” Dorothy cooed, the other women at the table laughed and nodded in agreement. Dorothy and Carol had both settled down and were part of the group as well. Dorothy had gone back to school and become a teacher, while Carol had a toddler of her own that attended the daycare Miri used to go too. They had gotten back in touch with Kazuki a couple years ago.

“Thanks for picking him up Rei.” Anna said as the rest of the women giggled at them. Other than Anna, they all seemed fairly tipsy.

“No problem. Miri says hi” Rei said. Thankfully, Kazuki had stopped his onslaught and now just had his face burrowed in Rei’s neck. “Are you okay to drive Anna?”

“Oh yeah!” Anna held up her soda. “I’m taking everyone else home too, I would have taken Kazuki but your place is in the opposite direction and I have to be at work early tomorrow.” She added apologetically.

“That’s totally fair” Rei looked back down to Kazuki, who had been resting his chin on his shoulder and staring at him.“You ready to go?” Rei asked, ignoring the sappy grin Kazuki was giving him.

“Mmmhmm! Lemme just say bye.” Kazuki said. He pulled himself off of Rei and clumsily gave each of his friends a hug. “Oh shit! My drink!” He said after he was done.

“Kazuki don’t! Oh geez…” Rei sighed as Kazuki chugged the rest of his cocktail.

“Text me when you get home.” Anna said, giving Rei an amused look.

“You too” Rei said as he wrapped an arm around Kazuki’s waist, Kazuki responded by slinging his arm over Rei’s shoulders. Rei gave the other women a polite wave as he led his drunk partner out of the bar.

Kazuki was giggling as they stumbled outside. “What’s so funny?” Rei asked.

“You’re really cute” Kazuki said, pulling Rei tightly against him for a kiss that only half landed on his lips. It was clear that he was trying to take it further, but Rei dodged his other attempts.

“And you’re really drunk. Let’s get you home. Rei responded with an embarrassed chuckle. He glanced back at the bouncer as he helped Kazuki into the car. The large man didn’t even seem to register Kazuki’s drunken makeout attempt, which Rei was grateful for. The guy probably saw worse on a daily basis.

“Drink” Rei ordered, shoving a water bottle into Kazuki’s hand as he started the car. Kazuki stared at the bottle for a moment before taking a large swig.

“Dude…this water is soooo good” he said, sounding amazed.

“I know. You should keep drinking it” Rei coaxed, trying to keep himself laughing so that Kazuki would do it. Kazuki downed more of the water as they pulled out of the parking lot and onto the road back to the diner.

“So. How was your night?” Rei asked once Kazuki had drunk a decent amount of water.

“It was fun! We did Karaoke and caught up and — Oh my god! Dude! Dorothy and Carol are dating now!”

“Really?” Rei was genuinely surprised. Rei was initially a bit suspicious of them, as their whole job at Fairy Lips was essentially to flirt with Kazuki and other men, but it quickly became clear that they treated the flirting as nothing more than a job and just saw Kazuki as a friend.

“Mmhmm, about damn time.” Kazuki said, taking another sip of water.

“Really? I didn’t see that one coming,” Rei said quietly. Kazuki giggled again. “What?”

“You’re SO bad at picking up signals,” Kazuki teased.

“Says the guy who took like 6 months to kiss me” Rei retorted.

“Hey! In my defense! Your signals used to be a lot harder to read.”

“I literally told you I wanted to spend my life with you and raise a kid with you.” Rei said, “and you still only did it because Miri kept asking”

“…okay fair. He said sheepishly. Rei reached over and squeezed his hand briefly to let him know he was just teasing.

“How’s everyone else doing?” Rei asked. Kazuki perked up and launched into a drunken explanation of his other friend’s life updates. Even when Kazuki was sober, Rei couldn’t really keep track of all the gossip, so he only half paid attention. He mostly just liked listening to the sound of Kazuki’s voice.

On the drive home Kazuki had sobered up enough that he could at least make it up the stairs on his own, though Rei still kept a hand on his back just in case. Once they were inside, Rei led Kazuki to the couch, where he plopped down.

“C’mere” He said, trying to pull Rei into his lap.

“In a minute, I’m gonna get you something to eat.”

“But I wanna cuddle.” As nice as that sounded, Rei knew if he didn’t get some food into Kazuki that he would be extremely hungover the next morning.

“Later. Alright?”

“Please. Just for a minute” Kazuki begged, giving Rei sad puppy dog eyes. Rei sighed and was about to relent when Miri came out of the bathroom, a cloud of steam billowing behind her. She was wearing her pajamas and had a towel wrapped around her shoulders that she was drying her hair with.

“MIRI!! Kazuki cried. Launching himself off the couch to throw his arms around her.

“Hi Dad! How was—Bleghh! You smell like booze!” she said with a laugh, hugging Kazuki back. Rei took the opportunity to sneak into the kitchen.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He said, trying and failing to sound sober.

“Oh my god you’re totally drunk.” She teased.

“Your Dad doesn’t get drunk, he just has fun” He said indignantly. This caused Rei to snort and Miri to start giggling.

“Mmmhmmm” she said, Kazuki didn’t seem to pick up on her sarcasm. “How is everyone?”

“Good! Anna says hi and that she wants you to visit her soon. She has to work tomorrow”

“Oh yeah, I guess that makes sense that tomorrow would be her first day of school too” Miri said. Kazuki threw his arms around her again.

“I can’t believe tomorrow is my baby girl’s first day of high school. You’re growing up so fast!” Kazuki started tearing up.

“Aw Dad, I’m only 14.” Miri gave him a pat on the back to comfort him. Rei shook his head and gave her an apologetic look, but she was amused by Kazuki’s dramatics.

“Still! It seems like just yesterday you were this big” he said, pulling apart and putting his hands super close together.

“She was never that small Kazuki” Rei said.

“It’s a metaphor!” Kazuki said angrily. This caused both Rei and Miri to laugh again.

“I should probably start heading to bed. I wanna get a good night's sleep before the first day of school”

“Ah! And you’re so responsible! I’m so glad you didn’t break bad” Kazuki said, hugging Miri again.

“What does that even mean?”

“He used to be afraid you would turn bad once you got older. Like that you would ditch school and shoplift and stuff like that.” Rei clarified over his shoulder. “For some reason the bad version of you has a Texas accent” Rei was never sure where that one came from, but whenever Kazuki impersonated ‘bad Miri’ he did it with the accent.

“Like this?” Miri said in her best southern drawl.

“Miri no!!” Kazuki cried, hugging her tighter as she and Rei laughed at him.

“I’m kidding, I'm kidding. Goodnight Dad” she said, hugging him back.

“I love you so much,” Kazuki said, giving her a big kiss on the cheek before he reluctantly let her go.

“Love you too.” She said sweetly as she popped over to the kitchen. “Night Papa” she stood on her tiptoes to give Rei a kiss on the cheek. “Good luck”, she whispered with a smirk

“Don’t worry, I can handle him.” Rei chuckled before giving Miri a kiss on the forehead. She turned around, giving Kazuki one last wave before she closed her door behind her.

As soon as Miri was back in her room, Kazuki sauntered over to Rei in the kitchen and wrapped his arms around Rei’s waist from behind.

“Whatcha doin??” Kazuki asked, resting his chin on Rei’s shoulder.

“Making you food so you sober up” Kazuki hummed appreciatively and began kissing Rei on the neck. “That tickles,” Rei said. It felt really nice, but was making it incredibly hard to focus. Kazuki responded by rubbing his goatee aggressively against Rei’s neck.

“Stop!” Rei hissed, gently elbowing him in the ribs. “I’m gonna shave that thing off in your sleep one night” He was only half joking.

“Aw. But I like it!”

“That makes one of us” Rei turned around in Kazuki’s arms. Kazuki tried to lean in and kiss him, but Rei blocked him by holding up a rice ball in between their lips.

“Eat first.” He said. Kazuki ate the entire rice ball in one comically large bite, his cheeks puffing out as he chewed. “Not like that. You’re gonna choke.” Rei said, exasperated. Kazuki laughed through the mouthful of food before stepping back and taking another swig from the water bottle to wash it down.

“That’s really good,” Kazuki said once he could talk again. His brow furrowed in concentration as he tried to figure out what the filling was. “Did you make these?”

“I did, I just took some of the leftover chicken and added some seasonings to it.” Rei said, proud of himself that Kazuki liked it. “I put on some lemon pepper seasoning and rosemary.

“I’m so proud” Kazuki beamed. Rei had learned a lot about how to cook from Kazuki over the years. He still didn’t really know enough to come up with his own recipes, but he had come a long way from the days where he could only cook ramen.

Rei handed him the plate with the rest of the rice balls on it and they both went to the couch. Rei relaxed for the first time that day, playing video games while Kazuki sat next to him and enjoyed his food. Once he had finished, he placed the plate on the coffee table and turned around to lay his head in Rei’s lap.

“How are you doing?” Rei paused his game and began stroking Kazuki’s hair.

“I think I’m starting to sober up.” Kazuki said with a yawn.

“Wanna start going to bed?”

“Finish your level first, I’m enjoying watching you”

“Okay” Rei certainly wasn’t complaining about that, though he didn’t always have time to play video games nowadays, he did still find that they helped him unwind at the end of a long day. He ruffled Kazuki’s hair before unpausing his game.

About an hour later Rei finally got to a checkpoint. Kazuki had dozed off about halfway through. Rei wasn’t expecting it to take him that long, but Kazuki seemed perfectly comfortable where he was.

“Hey.” Rei whispered, putting a hand on Kazuki’s shoulder and shifting his legs a bit. Kazuki’s eyes cracked open.

“Hmm?” He mumbled.

“Bed?”

“Mmhmm” Kazuki swayed slightly as he sat up. Both of them were pretty heavy sleepers, but Kazuki usually took a bit longer to wake up once he was out. Rei chuckled and gave Kazuki a gentle kiss on the lips.

“Mmmm” Kazuki exhaled, putting his hand on the back of Rei’s neck and pulling him closer. It was a sweet and chaste kiss.

“Come on” Rei coaxed Kazuki off the couch and led him into the bedroom. Kazuki had woken up enough to change into pajamas and brush his teeth as Rei did the same.

“Thanks for taking care of me” Kazuki said when they got into bed.

“You take care of me all the time.” Rei said matter of factly. “Besides, we can’t have you too hungover for Miri’s first day of high school.

“God, I can’t believe that’s tomorrow. She’s growing up so fast.” Kazuki sighed. “I feel old”

“I mean, you still go out drinking with your friends and I still play video games whenever I get the chance, so we can’t be that old.” Rei reasoned, knowing aging was something that gave Kazuki anxiety.

“I guess that’s true, the only real difference is we get random aches and pains now.”

“To be fair, I don’t think our previous career did us any favors in that department.”

“Yeah…” Kazuki reached out and stroked Rei’s arm. “Thank you again”

“Of course” Rei said, knowing Kazuki meant to thank him for both tonight and for standing up to his father all those years ago. He gave Kazuki a peck on the lips.

“Lucky for you you’re pretty entertaining when you’re drunk.” Rei said with a chuckle.

“Well at least I’m not annoying”

“Oh no you’re definitely annoying” Rei teased, causing Kazuki to pout. “But you’re also funny. And kinda sweet.” he admitted, moving in to kiss Kazuki again. Kazuki’s hand moved to the small of Rei’s back and pulled him closer.

After a few minutes of lazily kissing, Kazuki broke away to yawn, which caused Rei to yawn as well. Kazuki gave him one last kiss on the cheek.

“Goodnight. Love ya” He mumbled, already falling asleep.

“Night. Love you too” Rei turned around and made sure his phone alarm was set before settling into bed with Kazuki’s arm slung over his waist.

Thanks to Rei’s efforts, Kazuki was only a little hungover the next morning, and was pretty much fine after a cup of coffee and a shower. Miri, predictably, made fun of him for his drunken antics the next day.

You sat outside meditating trying you're best to calm down but that scene kept on playing over and over until you know every line, You bit your bottom lip trying your best not to start crying but failed. Before you were floating and now you were on the cold floor crying.

You groaned loudly at that thought and without a thought, you slammed your fist to the cold floor over and over again while blood started to drip from your knuckles, You hoped no one was there to witness the scene but unlucky you someone did see and you wished it wasn't that person.

You couldn't care. It was a bad way to cope but it worked, Instead of loving him, you hated him, Toxic but worked? You were just blinded by anger and hurt like you never felt that kind of hurt when Loki died, Your first-ever lover. All you could was be angry get hurt or be the second choice or be an alcoholic like you're dad but you refuse that thought. There are so many ways to handle this heartbreak but you decide to be angry instead and let sadness turn into anger.

Stephen stared at you not wanting to believe what you said: " Are you mad at me?" he asked, and you scoffed "No" Lair.

" Then let me take care of you're knuckles, it could get infected," he said stepping closer but you just backed up "No"

"What"

"I said no."

You were being stubborn and you know he just cared about you and he's just doing what a friend would do.

" Y/n, Don't be stubborn," He said sternly " I'm being Stubborn, yeah right says the guy who's more stubborn than me" You huffed before you could turn around he grabbed your wrist " What's wrong with you? Anyway toki pona, the gibberish I've been intermittently posting in, is a philosophical experiment of a conlang where, due to a restricted vocabulary and simple but restricted grammar, invoking any concept is an exercise in (as described by unofficial spokesperson/Renaissance jan/famous variety YouTuber jan Misali) not knowing what the "word for it" is but describing what it is in essential, contextual terms. It's a context-dependent ad-hoc descriptive process and it can be unwieldy fuzzy and sometimes bad for communication in novel ways sure but it's actually much more powerful and capable than people expect – I would say that toki pona doesn't have /more/ things it struggles to communicate than a natlang like English does, it just struggles with different ones – and many things that are hard to comprehensively express in English are easier to invoke in toki pona!

But yeah sometimes it can be hard. So sometimes ppl will introduce nimi sin, literally "new words" (loaned into English as "nimisin"), to describe some things.

These are. Debatable in value. I use "powe" (a nimisin) several times in the meta bc it affords me a greater agility w/ which to discuss the concept of fiction – I'm not sure if this is a decision I'll stand by as I get better expressing things in toki pona, but for now it seems to be good for my uses there

There are some nimisin though that are less convincing imo – "isipin", "thought," is the main one I wanted 2 compare this whole thing to

I really don't like "isipin." In toki pona there is no simple way to express the concept of thinking – and if you try to describe it that's because you aren't actually talking about things that necessarily belong in the same semantic grouping! Trying to analyze what you mean when you say "thinking" is really interesting – the different phrases people can come up with on that front are often more useful than just "thinking"!

"pilin" for gut feelings "mi la" for when smth is in your opinion "nasin mi" for moral codes "lukin" for examination "alasa sona" for investigation or exploration "kama sona" for learning "toki insa" for internal monologue "toki lawa" "lawa pilin" "Pali sona" and so much more – it communicates and helps you acknowledge what angle you're actually coming at something from. It's really interesting and a great thought exercise

"isipin" eliminates that exercise. You just say "isipin" and you skip over identifying and communicating what kind of consideration you're talking about, yk?

And that's how I feel about "content" and "content creator," I think, having evaluated it. We use these phrases as shorthand for... what, at this point? What are you talking about when you say "content"? Do you mean to say "art?" "Entertainment"? "Comedy"? "Presentation"? "Simulacra of companionship"? Do you mean a specific work of theirs? What do you actually like about things? And like ... at risk of somehow sounding even more pretentious than I already have, I think that's worth considering sometimes. What do you actually come here for? "Content" describes nothing. "This game contains scenes." And that can be useful as a term sometimes, sure, but like... idk . Actually citing what people do or perform is cool I think . And not to say that's not also a shorthand it v much is but like . Idk maybe we could all do to choose what shorthand we use more deliberately

top five favorite concepts

here are his top 5 favs (in no particular order). it's also VERY hard for him to choose, because i think he's like me in that having to limit his favourite concepts to just 5 is an extremely difficult feat.

Hyth finds the oreias's (or spriggan)'s proclivity for hoarding gemstones and misc. shiny objects very relatable, as he too suffers the urge to pocket interesting objects to gift to his friends, or sometimes to keep for himself (yes, he's absolutely the kind of person who would give his friends a cool rock or an interesting leaf, and then proceed to launch a discussion about how interesting its aethetic composition is before launching into the thing's origins based on said aetheric composition, all with childlike glee.) he actually comments on them during the msq and one scuttles by before the leg-having sharp concept pulls up on him. in english his dialogue is "how delightful", and in jp it's something to the effect of "an oreias! how cute!"

abystoma: while hyth's memories of That Particular jaunt in elpis (we must recall that he seems to have special access to teleporters there and i think it's implied that he does take trips there every once in a while, but clearly not often enough for most people there to recognize him.) although his memories of the time were wiped by kairos, i do think he felt a lasting fondness for the concept when he laid eyes on it after the whole kairos fiasco, and he felt strange pangs of familiarity and immense fondness for them, and he would therefore have arrived at the conclusion that although he did not remember it outright, he must have run into these creatures during that time. furthermore, hermes seems to be very familiar with them, and it's outrighted stated that hermes and hyth are friends and collaborate together on a fairly freqeuent basis.

lykopersikon: i don't have much of an explanation for this but i think hyth thought it was extremely funny that someone submitted a weird tomatomonster that pops out of a round pot-like seed thing. he really is like a deviantart group moderator in the early 000s with his ability to adore and appreciate the extremely abstract and just weirdass things that people submit in this vein jghjsdgdh.

elpis flowers: these things remain something of a delightful mystery to him, because they're presumably composed of dynamis(?) they may be either invisible to him in terms of his aethersight (although he can clearly see their corporeal forms; like when he focuses more on their aether, they're probably suuuuuuuper faint and practically invisible, due to them being entelechies, as well as being far simple and presumably requiring less aether than even the likes of meteion.) being as perceptive as he is, he's accustomed to being able to view the aetheric composition of peoples' concepts in detail. he enjoys the flowers not only for their beauty and their ability to change/response to others, but for the simple fact that their existence as something he isn't able to readily see/analyze/understand. it keeps him on his toes and he appreciates this.

lotis: they're weird plantdragon things in elpis. again, the general idea of it kind of reminds me of being smth that might end up in furry/creaturedesign deviantart in the 00's. hyth has a soft spot for for plant and bug concepts especially.

***HONORARY MENTION: cubus, although i don't actually think that cubuses are intentional creations. rather, i've always headcanoned them to be kind of an accidental/unintentional byproduct that sometimes occurs as a result of intense creation magick usage. very small cubuses would sometimes manifest in his and hades's apartment space. hyth would delight in finding tiny cubuses forming in the pipes and attempting to make pets out of them after scraping them out of the drain, much to hades's chargin. the pazillion cubuses roaming around in phantom amaurot were left there deliberately for hythshade to "play" with and have company.

(this is kind of unrelated to the ask maybe idk) but hyth finds people who have merged with concepts to be incredily interesting, and during certain intervals wherein he was feeling particularly down on himself and his percieved lack of prowess, he had instrusive thoughts about applying this to himself before swiftly concluding that in his case, the potential risks far outweigh the benefits.

Boy some of y'all are missing the point of that guy's ask about Hetalia kins. The "stop kinning" thing might've been poor wording because yeah, most people can't simply not kin anymore, but you can absolutely stop engaging with the source, stop supporting it, not list your kintypes publicly.. I kin from Hetalia too and I simply don't talk about it publicly. I actually started keeping a diary where I write about my problematic sources and kins when I get the urge to talk about it. It's helped a lot more than I thought it would, honestly. Maybe some of y'all should try that too?

I’ve been thinking about what Akechi would be called if he had access to the Velvet Room and had an attendant. Like, he’s a trickster, but Joker is ‘Trickster’. I’ve shuffled through a few options, but I think my favorite so far is ‘Adversary’ - both because he’s a rival to Joker and fighting against Shido, but also because that’s a common translation of שטן. That connects him both to Joker, who has Satanael as a challenger of god, and also kinda Sae as a prosecutor. Anyways, thoughts on what a good Velvet Room title would be?

you truly, truly put everything into that series and god am i in live with reading it. it took me through so may different emotions that transcended me like.. hello? the period-piece slay that this is? i can not describe how much i enjoyed that shit. the way you were so consistent in all of the chapters, you never wavered from that old-english-period kind of language, both in dialogue, in exposition and literally any writing that you did for this series, and shit i cant tell you how much i admire your dedication. let me tell you there was not one moment where i thought your writing was any less from the gorgeous quality that it is. if you told me you weren't feeling a chapter, my bestie i would not have noticed at all. i was so immersed in reading this. your worldbuilding>> the language, the politics, the kingdom, all established beautifully. god i love those prussian royalties, smth abt them speaking german 🫣.. chile anyway,,

you managed to give each and every character mentioned a life—love, tragedy, realization, like you really made this story alive. i love how you gave spotlights to characters like louis, chelina, thibault, abigail, the grand duke, the king, and the late queen, even. how you managed to make them feel real, like they aren't just side characters used for the gains of the plot—it's incredible, really. there's just so much distinction between them, like i LOVE to see their personalities shine. you even gave the grand duke a backstory? like come on, man! i enjoyed seeing all the characters experiencing growth through different experiences. CHELINA AND LOUSIE LOVE STORY REAL>> oh my god i want a spinoff of his trip to zaragoza, damn. if i could, i would literally quote every line that made me scream and shout and cry, but there's too many to choose from!

you are so, so good with words and especially in making character dynamics and chemistry. reader and kit UGH i would die to have a love like them. every words spoken between them, especially any declaration of defiance and love against the king is gratifying to me. i can feel their passion in my bones.. for real. i LOVE how the theme i got is that you should always fight for love, even if the outcome isn't something you wished for. like that is such a serve. you deserve an oscar, a bafta, a grammy a golden globe and a restraining order, because i can not read this book for one second and not drown in a current of emotions. dont even get me started on the plot and how everything descended so beautifully. to me, it was planned out so well from the beginning and i love how you based the conflict off of the queen's death, like the grand duke?? that is so smart. its so evident that you put a lot of time in writing each detail of the plot and i was so consumed by it, it's true!! i spent 3 hours binge reading this whole thing and let me tell you my life changed. ok literature? work.

THE AMOUNT OF ANGSTT IS SO GOOD i LOVE forbidden romance esp if its in like a royal setting, and MY FAV is when the king finally realizes he can never stop reader and kit from loving each other—i adoooree that trope. almost forgot, but i was cryingg when i noticed the parallels and similarities between the cinderella movies and this story. like obviously this was based off of cinderella, but the things you switched and put in like reader having the principle of being kind and courageous, the lavender-blue lullaby sung from the mountains opposed to movie-cinderella singing it from her locked room, it's all too good. you really customized everything to depict this timeless, strong, selfless and beautiful main character. (the epilogue is amazing, by the way. love the children and love chelouis' children!! amelia is a sweetheart 🥹)

I’ve watched a million different videos and read different websites and posts on tumblr that talk about sexual orientation, romantic orientation, gender identity, gender expression and so many more things. I’m so confused and have been for so long that it’s overwhelming. I keep changing my perception about stuff depending on the day and that is SO STRESSING. I have thought that I might be abrosexual but I’m not really sure it fits me. I’ve also thought I might be genderfluid but, as I said before, it is kinda hard for me to see myself as someone that either is or feels atracted to men.

I know that I’m closer to figure myself out than what I was at the start though, and that helps me keep going. This is what I’ve got till now:

Gender: Unknown (nonbinary is the one I feel more related to in a kind of way)

Gender expression: More masculine/androgynous (but that might also be because I don’t like how more “femenine” clothes look on me or I just don’t feel comfortable in them)

I started to bash on german the better I got in english especially regarding dubs (didn't help I was a stereotypical pretentious annoying lil kid) and I am so glad it was likely really just a kid phase bc I am rewatching detective conan in german (and once I hit where they're not getting dubbed anymore I switch to sub bc I do dislike names getting anglicized and I am very glad the ger dub kept the og japanese names, exceptions when I grew up w the anglicized names) and it is so so comfy. The dub is also just plain good imo and the voices are so nice to hear again I am so glad I found a site that got shows in german (ty katrielle layton anime for apparently only being available in japanese and german and me deciding "well I can speak german so why not check it out", nice voice acting but not up my alley).

I do still usually keep away from eng by anime bc I am a sub over dub person and I find most... not that good.. but I stopped to play part in the debate bc I'm sure all VAs try their best. Not for me but if you like em I'm happy for ya. And also in ger it is hit or miss when the og language is eng do I stick to that which is usually the case. Idk if it is just my perception or if it really did but german dubs kinda worsened but who knows maybe I just catched the ones w bad production on that part (reg ops we got nice ones but I was happy to learn others learned abt the one we got for naturo bc. yeah). Like purely anime speaking I think the cartoons and shows on tv are fine. Minus julien bam as sonic in the movies I still can't get over that but no hate towards him I just find the youtuber as voice actor thing always baffling no matter which language (also dislike the celebrity bias in every country. yes that person is famous but do they actually fit that role + voice acting and actor require different skill sets).

I think I started to bash so much on ger bc "og language always better" and sometimes yeah and I do watch if possible in the og w subs so nothing gets lost (that doesn't have to) but where that opinion makes a turn for the worse is if you start to become pretentious about it and everyone who chooses another option is somehow worse than you. Counts for every opinion that obv isn't debating human life. Honestly I adore polls but that's also why people need to zip it with their snarky comments in the answers or also on quizzes, I do have to admit those where op smacks (right answer) or smth on the one that almost no-one clicked on are funny to see though. A bit of banter is fine imo but there are some that are just really not necessary.

Anyways it is kinda funny how I thought one piece would surely get me into anime again bc I do adore it since like kindergarten and it'll forever be in my heart but nope detective conan it is. Ig the aspect of finding out together who the culprit might be is fun next to being able to do other things meanwhile bc I don't have to read. I think I got into conan at age 14? 15? Feels like decades ago though. I don't think I really understood why others rewatch things until now. Like I got it like yeah comfort but not the extend. I always tried not to rewatch bc "I got so much stuff I can't waste time with the same" (<- has replayed okami a lot on wii and now switch while having gaming backlog since forever, replayed bratz the movie on ps2 almost yearly as kid, etc) but I luckily start to go into "who cares" mode fully and it's really nice.
