i LOVE the voicelines Medic has with Haunted Archimedes, he's not disturbed or even slightly put off by the fact that his zombified dove is 1. talking and 2. has a violent and constant craving for brains. he's just like. being a slightly irritated pet owner about it. he's just like "ugh yes archimedes vants all zhe brains doesn't he. now shut up". also i think this is the most on-model medic drawing i've ever done wtf

i think the sketch looks silly and goofy and funny so i find it important to share with you the mere presence of the faces i drew on it. i drew it on top of the boxes without staying inside its borders because i find my proportions can get wonky if i draw them cropped in a restricted space. and I feel trapped otherwise and i will draw BAD!!! give me spaceeeee to go wild!!!!

the head circles are there for emotional support

very low res speedpaint because truth is the canvas was much bigger than the space where my comic was placed. i didnt account when exporting my timelapse in 720px that that tiny space would look so pixelated ... but it's able to be percieved, so its okay.

(i will now comment on my process and it is not brief sorry)

usually i would try to clean up my sketches and figure out what goes on top before jumping into linework, but since there are multiple panels and drawings i chose to jump into inking right away for the sake of brevity. i just went in with a brush that uses pen pressure and drew what was needed. i added extra line thickness and contrast in areas around the face because it helps direct your eyes there more easily that way.

according to her equipment rei has a chain belt but i only remembered it existed once I was going to color, and i did not like that discovery... I chose to ignore it to maintain my peace. i already have the color palettes for these characters figured out, and i didnt really want to think about a new element at the moment www I tend to overthink those things a lot so i skipped it

the rest is rather straightforward! not that anything else wasn't, but in here i could turn my brain off and sing. linework and sketching require mumbling so i cannot turn my brain off. just block in the characters with a solid color so i can have a mask (something along those lines,) where the color can stay inside. then just color in !!!

Base colors just had slight cell shading on the skin, and for the hair i airbrush a bit of the skincolor in low opacity near the forehead... I'm not sure what it means, but i can look at the faces easier with it somehow. i like the gentle subtlety it adds even if you cant really tell. it makes things look nice.

background was just me blocking in the color of the wall and floor, shade the wall a bit, then slap a noise and free use wood texture on top. work smarter not harder ! yet it took a bit to make it look stylistically fitting with the characters, and even now i think bottom middle panel looks odd. whatever!!!

for the middle panel i thought itd be funny if the background was a solid silly and colorful one to contrast the next panel's sketchy black one. a contrast to how the word widow is seen. on that note my handwritting is not pointy. i gaslighted my hand into thinking that it was indeed pointy in that moment so i could write "not-yet dead person" in letters that didn't seem cute. my hand did not fall for it but it complied anyway

that's basically it! I'm not sure what else i could say that doesn't feel barebones because it really is that straightforward. if you're curious I used clip studio paint for this. only special brush used was for linework (a brush named Lemon Brush), the rest used were just the default. my computer gets the least credit. it was trying to convince me a 20mb file was going to nuke it all the time and hardly let me save multiple times so i do not appreciate it

Sirius promptly choked on the chip he’d just popped in his mouth. He coughed and spluttered as he tried to dislodge the offending bit from his throat. Thankfully, he didn’t drown in the tea he chased it with.

“Are you alright?” Remus asked, reaching over to pat his back. The slight wince as he stretched hit Sirius like a fist to the chest.

“Fine!” His voice came out strangled and far higher than normal. Sirius cleared his throat, then tried to move past that mortifying moment with a joke. “I’m fine. You’d think I’d know better by now than to try to breathe with my mouth full.”

Remus’s eyebrows shot up, then he grinned. “It’s been awhile, yeah? Muscle memory fades with disuse, you know.”

Sirius coughed through a laugh. It was impressive how quickly Remus recovered that time. He’d already adapted to Sirius’s flirtatious deflections within a few days of meeting him.

Almost as impressive as those hands.

Heat flared at the base of his neck and climbed to his cheeks. Sirius fanned his face as he reached for his tea. He hoped Remus would assume the flush was from a lack of oxygen instead of embarrassment.

It was official, he was having A MomentTM right now. It was the only explanation for his overwhelming reaction to Remus today. He’d nearly dropped their lunches when Remus groaned earlier and now he was choking on a chip while watching the man lick his fingers.

Why the fuck was that so hot?

Sirius rather enjoyed the warmth in his chest when Remus did something particularly adorable, like when he twirled the cord from his jacket around his finger or tugged on his beanie with a sheepish grin. This comically theatric finger-licking incident should have caused the same reaction. Remus was not even trying to make it sexual. The man was bundled up in a thick jumper with a crocheted blanket in his lap and resting against a heating pad for fuck’s sake!

Yet, Sirius was vehemently repressing a shiver as he watched Remus meticulously suck the tip of each finger into his mouth. Little flicks of his tongue poking out to collect stray salt granules should not be sexy. Remus’s contented little hum as he examined each finger did nothing to dispel Sirius’s reaction.

“Anyway,” Sirius said, tearing his gaze away. “I wanted to thank you for saving James yesterday. He will probably track you down and thank you properly himself, but I couldn’t wait.”

Remus dropped his hands to his lap and shrugged. “It would be a pity for a fit bloke to drown for such a stupid reason.”

“Actually, it would have been two. No way would I have left him down there alone,” Sirius admitted. He toyed with the remaining chips on his plate. “Same for Reggie, if it had been him.”

Remus tipped his head curiously. As if a forty-five degree angle would help him better understand Sirius’s lack of self-preservation. There was nothing logical about his devotion to his best friend, or his brother.

“Really? You would have left Padfoot in your brother’s care?”

“I would hope that a compassionate stranger, like yourself, would step in to save both of them from such a fate,” Sirius teased, smirking at Remus.

“Now wait a minute, I could have kept your dog? Can I go back and-”

“Nope! Too late, you’re already a bloody hero,” Sirius interrupted cheerfully. He lifted from his seat and leaned over Remus to collect his plate. “You must be terrible at chess. Honestly Remus, ignoring an opportunity like that? It’s a bit disappointing.”

Remus cupped Sirius’s elbows as he pulled back, preventing him from standing upright or stepping away. Pale green eyes searched his face with an intensity that Sirius wasn’t expecting after their jocular tone. He arched an eyebrow questioningly.

“What?”

“I made the right choice,” Remus said, a soft smile tugging at his lips. He lifted a hand to tuck the loose strands of hair that fell in front of Sirius’s face behind his ear. “The world needs more people like you, Sirius, not less.”

Well fuck me sideways.

👀 Do you think Ford likes cats?

I have a✨ theory✨ that Stan is a dog person for sure. Larger bred mutts he’s collected over the years and one tiny dog that’s a MENACE.

Ford feels like a cat person. They weren’t able to have pets as kids, but that probably didn’t stop them from loving on strays and finding comfort and solace in them. Anyway Ford pre-portal knew he couldn’t have a cat at the shack he just can’t. But POST?? Mabel brings the up to Stan and Dipper and after much grumbling from Stan. They set off to find Grunkle Ford the perfect companion.

Mabel thinks a pet might get him out of his shell and additionally provide some comfort for issues he may have gotten while being an inter dimensional traveling. Plus she can put them in matching sweaters. 😭😭

YES, Ford's totally a big cat person. He's got those vibes. I've always thought that if he was turned into a common family pet, he'd be a cat and Stan would be a dog. The first cat he gets on his own in his old age would have polydactyly like he does in the form of mitten paws, that's like just an unshakable fact. not sure what he'd name it, but Little Sixer is a contender.

though i'm not sure his fam didn't have pets when looking at the stan and ford lost legends comic

unless this cat isn't actually theirs and Ma Pines is just giving some random stranger's cat their fortune, I'm pretty sure they at least had this cat as a pet. I guess you could say it wasn't strictly Stan or Ford's cat, and it was Ma's cat or something, but to say they didn't have pets is headcanon if you don't take lost legends as canon i suppose

Fish Can't Tell Fortune

WARNINGS: I wrote this in like ten minutes, spoilers for the fortune telling fish if you haven't done this in chemistry??? Idk A/N: I literally had this experiment and I was immediately like "This would make a good fic idea!!" Lmfao. Technically I was going to write something for my event but that's going to (hopefully) happen later this weekend (also my birthday weekend woohoo) Uh yes anyways I did kind of submerge my fish in water yesterday and I don't know how that ended (because I've been too scared to see if it still works) so that is fun- Anyways I can already tell that I'm going to dislike Chemistry just because- yeah. I enjoy it but also memorizing stuff is going to be a pain (I wish Azul tutored me (I'm broke though))

Azul never believed in fortune-telling. It never told the truth; only hard work could show it.

But when he saw you being all excited with the small red and white packet in your hand… He couldn't say no.

He listened attentively as you talked about how this toy used to be popular with children in your world; apparently it was now a novelty. It was… Interesting. And this could show him his 'fortune'? Well, he had to try it out - even if he didn't believe in it.

He took the bag from your hands, looking at the outside. "Fortune Teller… Miracle Fish. Mhm." He nodded slightly, before pulling the small red fish out of the packet.

Doing as instructed, he placed the fish on the palm of his hand. It immediately started to move, and the two of you watched intensely.

"So… It turned over. What does this mean?"

You read the small text on the packet (that you had snatched from him after he took the fish out) before you stifled a snicker. You turned and showed him the words.

"False? What do you mean I'm false?" Azul looked irritated to almost a comical amount. "I am not- what does it even-"

You shrugged, just telling him that the fish said what it wanted to say.

Azul let out a soft huff, shaking his head. "I'm not believing this. What about you? What does it do when it's on your palm?"

You took the fish from his hand, holding it in the palm of your hand. It moved, albeit slower this time; it curled up entirely.

"…Passionate?" Azul read out loud, a soft frown on his face. "Well, I suppose I can see where that comes from…"

You laughed, telling him that the fish never lies.

"Whatever you say. Now, give me that. I want to figure out exactly what's going on with this."

And a few days later, he had actually figured it out.

It hadn't been hard for him; he thought it was either heat or moisture. As the fish didn't react to any type of heat-related thing, that was out. However, the water did make it move faster.

And after testing some more and remembering old bits of information, he deduced that it was some sort of chemical reaction that was going on that caused the fish to move in the way it did.

Even as you told him it was no fun if he figured it out, he shook his head.

"Now I know that science - not a miracle - powers this fish. And it was interesting to research as well. Thank you for showing me this, kantokusei-san."

After today's 2-part episodes of The Bad Batch, I don't wanna hear any BS about the Jedi being "baby-snacthers", when the Sith/Empire are actually guilty of that crime! The Jedi would NEVER do what the Empire is doing to these poor Force-sensitive kids.

Oh that's right, yesterday was a Bad Batch night.

Genuinely, even though I am actually watching this show, I forget about it every week until I see someone make a post that is clearly reacting to something new but that makes no sense to me and then I remember again. That's how invested I am in this thing lol.

In fairness, nobody needed TBB to do a story about Sith snatching babies, that's already been done in other places more than once. TCW had an entire arc where Palpatine hired Cad Bane to kidnap Force sensitive babies so he could experiment on them. Grogu's entire backstory on The Mandalorian is that he was a captive being experimented on by the Empire for 30 years. Trilla Suduri was kidnapped and tortured by Vader and the Empire in Jedi Fallen Order as a teenager (and I believe the comics that deal more with Inquisitors sort-of imply that a lot of the other Inquisitors were also kidnapped and tortured into it even if they weren't children, but most of them WERE or were at least very young Knights). In the Kenobi show, we saw a whole ass Jedi child's corpse encased in amber and Leia almost got tortured for information. I KNOW there's other stories in comics and novels where we see Anakin kill or kidnap children, I think Eeth Koth's daughter is one of them.

So, yeah, there's been stories for AGES about the Sith kidnapping and hurting children. There is literally NOTHING about the Jedi kidnapping and hurting children aside from a few areas where people THOUGHT the Jedi had kidnapped a child and it was a misunderstanding the Jedi immediately return the children in question anyway and the children are never harmed in the process. All of the children we see living with the Jedi are always happy and healthy.

So like... TBB did not need to do a story about Sith kidnapping and torturing children for fans' accusations about the Jedi to seem ridiculous and stupid. The comparison is there already and has been for years.

Announcement

Hello there!

Enough time has passed throughout the FNAF Affinity remake's development on this blog and I'm proud to announce that the series is being co-produced by @red-the-radiant-official.

During our collaboration for the upcoming Arion video that I'll be posting on my second YouTube channel. Red had taken an interest in the development of the FNAF Affinity remake.

From what started out as conversation with suggestions on the series became more of a team effort to work on a new story that is familiar to all but with twists and turns of events that will come off as a fresh new experience to many veterans of the Affinity story.

I had a few original ideas for the Affinity Remake that were going to be added between characters interaction in the story but I've made some alterations that will contribute well with Red's original ideas he had dreamed of doing in the Affinity story.

We're going to be adding his self insert character named 'Thomas' to the FNAF Affinity Remake series.

He'll be getting his own spin-off story as a way to be properly introduced while development of the main story is worked on.

Now you're probably thinking to yourself.

"But wait! Isn't there already a Thomas in the FNAF Affinity?"

Yeah...

Well about that-

We don't talk about that character here. He doesn't exist, he has no purpose in the old FNAF Affinity nor do I like the character because of two reasons. Plus, the Thomas that we have now has already gotten its story set-up for an upcoming comic that will take place in between certain events of the story.

At the moment you see this post. I'm already typing up the story of Thomas and how his involvement will be a big part of what the Affinity Remake has to offer.

Anyways, I consider this a birthday gift to @red-the-radiant-official since it was yesterday and I thought this announcement would be perfect considering he's now a part of something big.

When I saw that anon who you and twinanimatronics had assumed to be the one that keeps you know starting shit with you, I really hated that they labeled us as shipbrain or whatever they said. I am aroace who finds comfort in shipping characters and that doesn't make me any less aroace. Can't people like them just let us have this, let us share it and stop taping our mouths? God. We are not even hurting anyone. I posted a solarxmoon and solarxearth mini comic thing yesterday and behold, I believe that same anon found it and is looking adamantly through the solarxmoon and even solarxearth because I didn't use the tsams tag for my comic. I took the comic down fast and turned off anon messages so quick because God that anon was quick to leave nasty messages, six in total and that was panic attack inducing. I'm sorry for rambling about this. I don't know anyone else who got that same anon on their back. It looks like they are persistent for lack of better term and it annoys me+scares me. Can't even share things I like about here anymore. Hoping solarxmoon becomes canon so that anon can shut up already

If Solar Moon became canon, they don't even need to change anything.

Like, they typically try to keep it as vague as possible, like "oh I am not talking about dana-chan-the-control-brain specifically....." but they often steal the exact wording and turn of phrase I use.

Cause I have an overly wordy way of talking on the internet.

I've always been this way since I was 15, so I feel my style of speaking is pretty overly wordy, rambly and long compared to most people just because I don't have a lot to share with my opinions with in real life. And I also misspell things a lot cus spellcheck has gotten worse since it became AI trained and it doesn't help my dyslexia.

But how sad is that? That someone is searching out the tag for a ship that they don't like, claim that "it's everywhere" and I'm "poisoning the fanbase" when I'm just.... here... playing with my own dolls, doing my own thing.... and not bothering anyone... Not even putting the ship in the tags publicly because I have Such respect and love for the silly little youtube show, who also plays with fnaf characters like they're dolls.

(just saying.. "bio-organic" and interdimensional travel did NOT come from fnaf I can tell you that much. )

And yeah, if they're really stumbling across Solarmoon or these ships on accident.......Blacklist the tags and move on? Don't come to my messages... Don't harass my friends...

#tristampparty day 2, episode 2: the running man

day 2 of @tristampparty!! i have less to say about this episode than the first one so hopefully this will be a shorter post than yesterday LOL

iirc this is 98 knives's seiyuu on the radio, right?!!! i am only about halfway through my jp 98 watch and can't recognize him by ear (yet) but i think it's very neat that the original seiyuus have cameos :')

why does roberto say revenge. what does he mean. what does he know. what has he figured out from knowing vash for maybe like a few hours. or is he just throwing that out there without realizing how close he is to the truth. partially, anyway. he didn't guess the savior complex part.

i'm not entirely sure what meryl means by honor...? but money is a pretty normal reason to want a plant, as we've seen and as we'll continue to see.

i like how meryl has a fear of bugs... i can relate lol. i think this character trait comes from the manga when she was kidnapped by zazie and was grossed out? i think here it also serves to reinforce her being sheltered, still unfamiliar with the world at large since worms are everywhere--WAIT HOLD ON.

man i'm so glad i finally downloaded tristamp so i can appreciate the visuals without the crunchiness of streaming video... i can't do the animation justice with just screenshots but i love watching vash scamper around like a... i don't know. he scampers like a cockroach in 98, but this is giving a different vibe. like a... something. like a creature.

i also want to take a second to appreciate how gorgeous the backgrounds are, like,

i loooove the backgrounds, it looks like... maybe a mix of markers and colored pencil... i love the detail and the colors are so pleasing. this is such a gorgeous anime to look at, i don't know how anyone could possibly say it looks bad without them just blindly hating it because it's 3dcg. god i'm getting so distracted looking at the backgrounds that i'm missing the action AND the subtitles LOL

wasn't there a post somewhere that actually calculated how much a bullet is worth based on this information. i don't remember what conclusion it came to. but i'm thinking either food is expensive (tbh, likely) or bullets are inexpensive and vash is just poor (also likely). also it's funny that the dub changed this to donuts. ...where are the donuts at in tristamp anyway...

yeah i don't really have that much to say about this ep, relatively speaking... i don't have any deep thoughts about the nebraskas, they're just comic relief villains anyway, i don't care about them that much, even though tristamp kind of tries to make us care a little bit by the end of this episode...

Sketchbook dump because I’m hhwhwhwhwhwhww tired from school

Some of these are from today some are from a week ago lesgo

1st one: a little practice 2-page spread I did a week or so ago so I could get used to drawing hobies hair (I’ve just been struggling with drawing hair a little in general recently idk what’s been going on) but uhhh yeah :) I’m pretty happy with it, I like the one highlighted in yellow on the left page (ignore the foo fighters sticker I got a cd that day so I kept the label for some reason, also my brother gave me that sticker real neat, also the page is so smudged omfg 😭)

2nd: (did this one and the rest today in my online classes because I was bored 🥱) inspired by a post I saw going in depth about Miguel’s personality (go read it, I reblogged it yesterday!!!) he is so kenough this might be my favorite drawing I’ve ever done with him :3 also ace Miguel is canon I’m Sony trust me guys

3rd: random dragon I drew and just made an OC. No they will probably not get any lore. They just exist. Hold your applause /j

4th: warriors au doodles!! Mostly some lore related stuff so I’ll go from left to right with some lil’ tidbits and facts

- the top drawing on the left page is of Reclusebite (Miguel) and his littermate, Dusty (Gabriel, Miguel’s canon brother from the comics that I hear are really bad so I refuse to read them). I don’t think I’ll ever really include Dusty in anything since idk much abt him but I think he’s quite the silly guy. Probably misses his brother because he went on to go start a little kitty club.

- the drawing under that is just a kind of like.. filler thing?? I like the idea of warriors having more than one apprentice for some reason so I liked the idea of Reclusestar having to mentor both Spikepaw (Hobie Brown) and Nightpaw (catified Spider-Man OC, he doesn’t do much storywise.). I think it’s funny. They probably bother him a lot but he still doesn’t care enough to be mad, just annoyed and disappointed sometimes.

- the right page is just spiderdad content because it is canon in this au hehehe,, I like my Brightsky (Peter B Parker) design a lot hes silly and kinda reminds me of fanon harestar designs.

Anyway that’s it I’m gonna post some digital art + headcanons sometimes soon hopefully :)

The "nerdy" store at the bigger mall never has Rick and Morty merchandise--I found a DVD there once, but that's it--and yesterday was no exception. I did find a cardboard cutout of Sersi, my favorite Eternal:

Am I the only one who liked Eternals? I think Marvel just marketed it badly.

I usually don't have much luck at Hot Topic, either. They sell bags of tiny figurines from other shows, and I always wondered why Rick and Morty didn't get in on that. Turns out, Adult Swim finally discovered that market!

When I first saw the characters on the back, I thought "Oh, cool, we're finally catching up to season five." Then I found a surprise: Crow Witch Rick!!

I wanted that little guy so badly, but the figurines are packaged so that you don't know what you get until you open one. I thought "He has a pointy hat, so maybe I'll be able to feel that inside the bag." I've heard of people using a similar method to find rare hockey cards.

But nope...no luck. Maybe I'll be able to find an opened one on eBay.

Also, it's funny how they're making "Rickdependence Spray" merchandise like that isn't the worst episode in the series. Admittedly, I did laugh at Morty's "dirty little doggy" line. But it wasn't worth it!

Hopefully, this means that more Crow Witch Rick merchandise is on the way because I would buy all of it.

Hot Topic also had another underutilized character: Philip J. Fry.

Futurama is weirdly under-marketed. The series has enough of a cult following that it seems like a cash cow, but merchandise is rare. I've always thought that Futurama is strangely underrated in general even though it's aired on two major networks and has one of the most famous cartoonists in the world behind it.

On to Spencer's. They didn't have Pickle Rick OR the Rick and Morty cube. Pathetic! But they did have a new wallet that looked like an old TV set, which is pretty clever.

Today, it was time for a trip to the other mall. As always, I gave Box Lunch a little tip. Someone else requested the "will to live!" I don't think the mall can help them with that one.

In the food court, I spotted a man wearing a Rick and Morty shirt. I said "Hey, your shirt is awesome! Can I get a picture?" He said "Yeah, sure." When I asked him where he got it, he said "Burlington."

So Burlington sells demonic Rick and Morty merchandise now? That's news to me.

The pile of Rick and Morty Funko Pops greeted me at one of the "nerdy" stores, but they're still slowly thinning out. I guess nobody wants the huge Snowball.

Similarly, I posted about this poor Froopyland Beth months ago, and she's still here. Nobody wants her!

And to make matters worse, there's an identical Froopyland Beth in a different part of the store who's lived there for months, too. They even lowered the price!

The store also has two identical King of Shit Rick Funko Pops, each with a different location and price.

Don't want either of those? You can buy Rick in his ship if you're willing to reach to the top shelf.

THIS Spencer's location didn't let me down. Pickle Rick and the Rick and Morty cube were squeezed onto a shelf, albeit with a bat blocking the view.

They also had a couple of new shirts. I love the vibrant colors.

And a handful of comics in a different "nerdy" store.

No comics for me, thanks. Not unless they release a Crow Witch Rick one--and how has that not happened yet? Seems like an obvious way to expand on plotlines from the series.

Anyway, it'll probably never happen, but my dream is to get a Crow Rick figurine in this style. Maybe I'll hire someone to design and 3D print one.

Newish Comics, Regular Edition (thank you extremely early spoilers meaning I spent yesterday on the Gotham War stuff, this is a big edition and I’ve been holding myself back from touching these for FOUR WHOLE WEEKS):

Birds of Prey #1: Righto so as I read this my levels of trust are building just slightly. There is at least reasoning being built into this scenario. Also I note the note that this is post Green Arrow #6

The list!!! I’ve already ranted about this but I want to note how IMMACULATE the order of “Shiva, Selina, Talia?, Cheshire?” is. Shiva’s the obvious starting point. She’s heavily associated with Sin, she’s an actual Bird of Prey from several team lineups, there’s the whole Dinah and Shiva relationship… Dinah would consider this. Jumping to Selina next, as someone who again has had multiple BoP appearances, is known to ally up if asked, exists in the antihero spectrum, Dinah’s probably also now aware she’s been looking after Lian. Then Talia. I am unaware of Talia being associated with any BoP team lineup ever but she’s an obvious next place for thoughts to go. Talia has Views and if you’re looking at dangerous people who can help with an extraction rescue she’s an option. Then finally, Cheshire. Who Dinah full well knows would cause ALL LEVELS of drama if Dinah asked her to go after Sin given everything around Lian, but is willing to consider it anyway for a moment there.

I do adore the art style in this, DC’s really putting out some stunning LOOKING books at the moment, also the old fashioned comics style and colour here are giving me vibes of the Black Canary 1991 run.

“What’s more important than a sister” remains excellent, Barda and Cass together is just amazing, and I’m interested in what happens with Zealot and Meridian. I understand why Harley’s there even if I don’t like it, and it’s largely approached better than I expected (I just can’t summon the energy to care about that fight scene, it’s establishing stuff to jury rig a reason for Harley to be here at all, I just don’t care about Harley enough, though does Harley have a secret past with the Dava Sborsc ‘collect all the single punches’ form of martial arts?)

My actual big question is: Sin is SIXTEEN? I mean I know we’ve had 2.5 reboots since the last time she was on page in comics, but she was approximately 10 years old after One Year Later. She was in PRIMARY SCHOOL. That’s even faster aging than Damian! (I guess we could stretch the point to her being 11-12, but it feels older than she was depicted)

Blue Beetle #1: The thing I MOST adore about using that JLI picture for Ted is that even with this comic set in the current present, Ted was on the team with a proper USSR Red Rocket. Ted you were a superhero 32 years ago?

Also amused we got a zany Charlton Comics era villain back.

RED BEETLE IS BACK!!! Oh no. Also almost impossible for it to be Paco given various reboots, so… (I’m sure Ted is fine. They’re not killing him off permanently in the first issue of this)

Thank you, guys! :D Yes, this is definitely a life-changing experience for Sebek. Or is it? I honestly like the idea of Sebek just erasing this image from his memory, not necessarily because he saw two people having sex, but because his young impressionable mind couldn’t compute the fact that one could do such things with his beloved Malleus, and Malleus would seemingly enjoy it. So Sebek’s desires awakened and then were immediately put to sleep by his own consciousness lol

This would be fair to say about every Diasomnia ship, but their ehh situation is quite unique, and that makes it interesting. Not only because Sebek is Malleus’ guard; he worships Malleus, he uses Malleus and whether Malleus likes something or not as a radar for his own reactions. But it’s not like this is the way Malleus wishes to be treated: he gets annoyed with Sebek sometimes (and sometimes he gets amused and enables him to continue, but, again, this is just amusement he gets from this silly young man). But Sebek is so completely delusional that he’ll put all his passion and energy into something if he believes that it would make Malleus happy. Even if it annoys Malleus so much that he runs away lol This is both fucked up and hilarious.

Like I said, we’re not planning anything for now. So we haven’t thought about who we would draw next. It depends on my inspiration and energy; once again, overblot boys are difficult to draw and take a lot of time.

Welp. My torn ligament is healing really well so far. It'l be 3 weeks tomorrow & I'm mostly pain free unless I'm doing too much. I'd packed my running shoes fully intending to go run with the dogs, but walking around the cul-de-sac & back is the best I can do for now. It feels a bit strange being in this big ass house all alone. The dogs are noticeably sad, but I've been doing my best to give them extra attention & cuddles. I pulled the classic out of the garage to go for a drive yesterday just to get OUTSIDE, & it was almost comical how light "Friday Traffic" is here compared to a regular day in Los Angeles. I cruised for a bit listening to one of my dad's old Frankie Beverly CDs, grabbed some food, & stopped to see if I could find this soap with a very specific scent that I'm currently obsessed with at a store here [I did! yayayayay... I might have to go take another shower real quick LOL]. Actually. Maybe I'll take them to the dog park before the sun gets too high cos it was hot as hell yesterday. I also need to call my brother to see if I can still pop up on him and the kids today. My mom said to not be startled because Squish is nearly to my shoulder already... I can't believe how quickly time is moving. I hope when I get back from Jamaica we can spend some proper quality time. Maybe shoot some hoops. Apparently Nugget decided to play baseball this year instead of soccer. I definitely want to go find a mitt in the garage to play catch in the yard if I can't make it to any of his games before I head back. Ummmm. Yeah, so I woke up at 5:50 this morning and haven't gone back to sleep yet... I messed up & made coffee thinking it was later than it was because I forgot that I'd already set this wrist watch for the correct timezone. I'm mostly just cracking up laughing at myself for saying I wanted To Disconnect, cos I sure as hell got what I asked for LOL. It's funny, you really don't realize how frequently you use your phone for regular things like checking the time or to use the calculator until you don't have one on you. PROLOGUE: Why Don't You (Say So) Trade My Tomorrows (For Our Yesterday)

These two act as a sort of backstory. It gives you a base understanding of what Dick's relationships with Wally and Roy were like, which leads us into

PART ONE: Dancing (With Another Man) [ch 1-7]

this arc sets up the larger conflict of the story, focusing on Dick, Wally, and Roy's reactions to it.

Hold On (To Me) [ch 1-4]

sets up timkon side plot, and shows how the core four are dealing with the main conflict

D(WAM) [ch 8-10] It Started (With A Whisper) D(WAM) [ch 11+12] HO(TM) [ch 5] D(WAM) [ch 13-22]

this seventeen chapter block kicks off the courtship arc which makes up the bulk of the part one plot — tensions are running high, and Dick has big decisions to make.

D(WAM) [ch 23-25] | HO(TM) [ch 6+7]

these two sections show the same events. And there's two potential ways to read them depending on the kind of reading experience you're looking for. Dick's storyline: -> 23, 6, 24, 25, 7 Tim's storyline: -> 6, 24, 25, 7 (+ 23 (optional)) Technically, Dick's story line would be the truly chronological one. You have all the information as soon as it's available to you. Tim's story line, however, makes this chain of events more of a mystery. You still find everything out, there's just more suspense beforehand. chapter 23 (Roy pov) & 7 (Tim pov) cover a lot of the same ground, which is why it would be optional to read 23 after having already read 7. But personally I think there is still something to gained from experiencing the appeal first hand along with Tim's second hand pov. Whether you read both is entirely up to you. Is this convoluted and possibly unnecessary? Yeah, probably, but hey! Have you ever been reading a comic and then had to chase down a tie in issue from another run just to understand what the fuck was happening? Think of it like that. This is superhero comic fanfic, after all.

D(WAM) [ch 26-31]

we'll call this the aftermath. You could read this as is, and it will make sense — in rereading this story in its entirety for this post, however, I've realized there is another potential reading order. 27 (Steph pov) leads directly in from HO(TM) ch 7 so, you could read this arc like this: HO(TM) 7 -> D(WAM) 27, 26, 28-31. Doing this is not necessary to enjoy or understand the story. Technically, it is the more chronological way to read these chapters, but don't worry to hard about this one.

D(WAM) [ch 32-38] | HO(TM) [ch 8-12]

These also happen at the same time, but are completely different scenes. Reading the section from one fic, then reading the section from the next would work perfectly fine. But, lining things up with the stories timeline the 'correct' chronological order is this: -> 32, 8-10, 33-38, 11+12

HO(TM) [ch 13-18]

i call this arc 'the boys are pouting.' basically the whole time Tim and Kon are dealing with their shit(tm), Wally and Dick are being very gay off panel. Dont worry though! we'll get back to them shortly. You could read this arc exactly as it's posted (it alternates between Tim's pov & Kon's) but they are full side plots on their own, so you could read them like this: Tim -> 13, 15, 18 Kon -> 14, 16, 17 This is me being nit-picky at this point, but I'm just writing this all down for the sake of having it all written down.

D(WAM) [ch 39-41]
