Just a little snippet for the stardust fugitive au
Looking at the ship monitors, displaying the input of the outer cameras you couldnt help raising your eyebrows.
"Eclipse? I thought this was the edge of the universe? Shouldnt there be.... you know, no stars in front of us?"
Looking back at him you realized all three of them stood closely behind you, almost caging you in, their eyes locked in a silent conversation. Suns ventilation had kicked in with a sputtering, telltale clacking of the loose fan blade making you cringe slightly as you wait for them.
Eclipse played sigh_tired.mp3 as he looks back at you.
"We used to do some jobs around here. For some reason people with a big bounty on their head often think that fleeing to the edge of the universe is a good idea."
He made a dramatic motion towards the screens.
"Those arent stars. That's what happens to fools like you. 800 years of explorers, fugitives, and people not realizing where they were....
Those are 800 years worth of ships reflecting the light of the universe.
The locals call those bright spots Sirens. Promising that the universe is not yet ending here, that there is more. Or for a nifty person maybe a big graveyard full of treasure. Its all the same to the nothingness out there anyways"
Sun chimed in gently but with an unsteady wirring to his voice.
"Oh shuh you and your big speeches.... but this is exactly why they told you to come here stardust. You see out there is just nothingness not even the gravitation of the universe. Which means if you get in there you can not get out by your own anymore you will keep your trajectory but cannot change anything about it. All these ships are still on exactly the same course they entered the abyss in. So if we throw in that thing with enough force it will be forever gone ... right?"
You blink
"Like, light speed?"
Sun nodded
"Like light speed."
"Why do i have a bad feeling about how we will do that?"
The blue bot leaned against a suporting beam, arms crossed, shit eating grin on his face.
Both you and Sun looked towards the light speed control panel of the ship as Eclipse hastily put himself in the entrance to the controll area-
"No nonono! NO way i am going to sacrefice my ship for the good of the universe!"

In lieu of Stuff Your Kindle day, can we talk about the issue of how the m/m genre of books, romance or not, is almost entirely dominated by women? Can we talk about how the most recognisable gay couples in media are written by women? Can we talk about how queer men can't even write about ourselves, how we are only allowed to exist when it's from the point of view of a straight woman sexualising us?
Can we talk about that? Or am I going to get called misogynistic for pointing out the disparity between who gets the writing deals, & who gets their books turned into movies, & whose shit gets popular versus whose doesn't? Can we talk about how m/m fiction is only allowed when it appeals to a cishet gaze, or is that too much for tumblr to take?
Can we also talk about how trans queer men are even more hated by publishing? Can we talk about how we get shit from both sides? Can we talk about how books about the experiences of being a queer man, written by queer men, never get the same recognition as books written by women on this subject (barring academia which has its own problems)?
Can we talk about that? Can we?

a quick hot guide for people that struggle commenting on fics aka things authors love to hear and youre just over thinking it and its actually really simple to leave comments on stuff!!
key smash/emoji spam/reaction image/etc (it conveys emotions way more than you might think)
drop a line you really liked
say how much you love a ship/character and how happy you are that theres content about them
ALL CAPS ANYTHING
"i liked/loved/enjoyed/whatever it!" its better to say the most basic thing than saying nothing tbh; writers appreciate hearing anything over nothing 💜
"thank you for writing this" its short, sweet, and very powerful
think what kind of feedback you'd personally like to receive on a piece of art you made. try to translate that want into comments you leave for other people too
you dont have to be critical or constructive or anything, even if the author asks for that stuff in their notes. they'll get it from someone else, you just do you
i feel like people make leaving comments too hard on themselves, so really just make it simple. if you really dont come up with anything, just say thank you. youre there reading for some reason, tell the author what it is. fic comments dont need to be book analysis essays (tho those are. incredibly appreciated as well if you want to write one!!), writers publishing their works for free online appreciate any kind of feedback regardless if you consider it good or well written. a comment is a comment
bottom line is, leave comments on fics and other written works. its whats keeping this game alive

hey, jsyk, you are never obligated to comment on my fics. i love comments. hearing your thoughts on what i’ve written is a true joy. but if how you express love is by leaving kudos or bookmarking, that means just as much to me. if you are someone who feels shy to comment, who often doesn’t know what to say, who comments rarely due to low emotional energy… i gotchu. i recognise your name if you kudos frequently. you are not a bad person for not commenting on every fic you like. please do not feel guilty for not always being in the place to comment. i understand

i have to ask .... has anyone brought up the fact that marinette is still the guardian of the miracle box in transmission. like is that not a massive plot hole. how could tikki take the earrings from her and try to absolve her of miraculous obligations when shes still technically tied to the box?

hi! I was scrolling down your DC tag and found this post (www(.)tumblr(.)com/cleromancy/735420182202368001/fucking-no?source=share) -I hope the link doesn't vanish but just in case it's one where you talk about approaches to writing DC and you cite waid, grayson and morrison. I know a bit more about morrison's, but (if you don't mind), would you care to elaborate on each style?
speaking very very broadly here, and therefore making generalizations that won't apply to every single thing each writer has ever written, but rather their general reputation or what i personally have found reading their work
waid is famously well-read and generally tries to reconcile as much canon as he can while still 1) telling the story he wants to tell and 2) fitting with modern style/genre/etc conventions. if he does make a departure you generally assume he knew he was doing it and did it on purpose while still mostly adhering to that former goal. im thinking of the donna/garth situationship in worlds finest teen titans here, which to me read like he was like "wait, why *wouldnt* they have ever had a thing, they have so much in common" and an exploration of that, and it does actually mesh with stuff that came before imo. but i picked waid as an example of someone who is extremely well read and puts a lot of effort into yes and-ing what came before. but at the same time he Builds a lot off of it, he's not just parroting.
devins approach to my reading is more like... she's character driven in a way where like. 1) she probably has a solid understanding of the history of her mains and has probably read at least the recent stuff but definitely hasnt sat down and read their Whole History, and 2) if her character concept differs from what came before she's comfortable stepping away from it. so by contrast to waid as an example, you generally won't see her playing with minor elements from teen titans 1966 or new teen titans, or if you do it's a surprise and she might have just taken a concept and turned it on its head, if that makes sense. shes more likely to bring in her own stuff. but at the same time you usually don't expect anything of hers to be a sharp departure from anything recent or any of her contemporaries. devin is someone who can read catwoman comics and then be like "i actually think catwoman should be more like xyz, because when i boil her down to what i see as her essential/core elements, this is what feels honest and compelling to me," and then that's how she'll write her.
morrison is pretty infamous for their "everything is canon" approach by which i mean. they may not have read anything recent scrimblo scringus was in, but they *did* read the elseworlds comic from 1989 where they originated that bears little to no resemblance to their current iteration, and they think it would be fun to randomly bring in some shit from that story into scrimblo's mainline continuity. so you get things like new earth jason being a redhead but also entirely unlike either pre-crisis jason or post-crisis jason in any discernable way, or they'll import batcow from tiny titans to the main continuity. because actually why Shouldn't we have batcow too. so morrisons something of a wildcard in terms of both what they might have read and in what they'll use and what they'll ignore, its a total free for all. every comic ever written is their playground, pretty much.
hopefully that makes sense lol. and i am oversimplifying a lot but that was my logic in name-dropping those three

Ik this is random and is gonna sound crazy but i had this theory that both sigma and atsushi were created by the book since both. Have black n white hair, some sort of white color scheme(albinism?) And seem to be both REALLY socially akward as if they DIDNT spend enough time around humans(in sigmas case ofc but atsushi? He grew up SUROUNDED by other kids, and ofc he was an outcast and he was probs afraid of punishment so ofc that could be an explanation) both are REALLY similar
They aaaare, and it's not crazy (have you seen canon?)!! I've seen stuff about Atsushi and Sigma parallels and it FASCINATES me how similar they are (I read the Sky Casino arc and MAN was that intense).
And while I don't know enough to disagree or agree with your theory OP, canon HAS already stated through Fitzgerald that Atsushi has a connection to the book. And considering how Sigma was created from the book and how you and the fandom in general see to see Sigma and Atsushi as incredibly similar....well, there's definitely SOMETHING going on in there.
(Also, there's another post I know that also pointed out how Q was similar to Sigma design-wise, which I was reminded of with your ask....I don't know if there's a point to that but...)
I do think so far, though, that Atsushi is human. He's mentioned to have parents and his childhood seems to be pretty well established. Of course this is a seinen action manga and they always seem to have the most convoluted plotlines. Like just watch as they pull out a plot twist that Atsu and all his backstory WAS created by the book and that the beginning of the manga is the beginning of his true birth...please don't take that seriously...
Anyway, I went on an unrelated tangent again (as usual) but thank you for the ask, OP!! I don't think about Sigma/Atsu parallels enough and your theory definitely isn't crazy...but we shall have to see.
