- trans (ftm)

- had been ever since he could remember

- because it was easy to pass as a kid rick and lori brought him immediately to his first haircut and got him clothes he wanted

- shane and lori were kind of iffy on it but rick woulda murdered them if they even tried to say ANYTHING about it

- gets a tattoo behind his parents back (legally)

- it’s just a small one on his right shoulder on his back

- it’s of loris favourite flowers

- so when rick does find out he’s not too mad about it

- wasn’t even mad about it anyways (well a little but it’s his sons choice he doesn’t care much)

- when lori died rick isolated himself a lot

- carl was still young (like show young about 12-13 years old) but he tried his best to take care of his dad

- when he gets older that’s why he tries his best to enjoy things his dad enjoys so that rick doesn’t isolate himself again

- it resulted him to be isolated a lot too tho

- he lost contact with his friends from pre-school and middle school

- made friends with enid first in high-school when she sat at his empty table during lunch time while he was reading a comic

- introduced him to ron, lydia and henry (i know in the show lydia and henry are younger than all three of them but for the sake of this they’re all the same age)

- eye got shot out the same way in the show

- therapy of all kinds after

- speech therapy

- physical therapy

- mental therapy

- took a long time to forgive ron

- rick tried to not get himself to isolate so much, kind of paying carl back for the times he was there for him after lori died

- when he got therapy, he told rick that he should get some too, that it helps and whatnot

- michonne is like “i’ve been telling him that for the past year and NOW he listens?”

- at his grandparents farm, he’ll just sit out on the field day and night just taking everything in

- especially if he starts getting a migraine

- but not during the day if he has a migraine (obviously, harsh sunlight and stuff)

- LOVES jackets

- like a weird amount of love

- no one should love jackets this much

- but he does

- had a huge hyper-fixation on the stages of death/decomposition

- that’s what made him want to be buried instead of being cremated, so he could ‘be one with nature’ (his words not mine)

carl grimes headcannons because we lack of anything for him and i can (most, if not all, are just non-apocalypse headcannons):

- autistic (we are starting off strong here)

- vocally stims vines sometimes (“road work ahead? uh yeah i sure hope it does”, “look at all those chickens”, “i wanna be a cowboy baby”) (he does that last one in front of rick a lot and rick never understands it’s from vine)

- judith: “daddy?”

- carl: “DO I LOOK LIKE-?”

- glenn taught him a lot of stupid jokes like “ligma” and “joe mama” (the usual college kid jokes)

- would use the “joe mama” joke on judith a lot

- judith would retaliate with ligma jokes (“we have the same mom idiot”)

- no one knows where she learnt that one

- loved science as a kid

- switched between wanting to become a cop like rick or an astronomer

- thought about being a palaeontologist but couldn’t see himself doing it for the rest of his life

- didn’t have a lot of friends but was still liked by other kids anyways (doesn’t mean he’s popular, people are just neutral about him)

- is on a swim team

- just likes swimming in general

- MOMMA’S BOY!!!!!

- then lori died so he made that transition over to his dad…yeah

- keeps his hair long and went through that teenage grunge phase

- listens to bands like oasis, los campensinos, nirvana, foo fighters, etc etc

- his parents music taste would sneak in sometimes tho like fleetwood mac, abba (lori) bob dylan, johnny cash (rick), any 80’s songs and old country (below the 70’s)

- because of that grunge phase he’d 100% play the electric guitar

- his grandpa taught him a bit of acoustic whenever they’d visit

- he plays the acoustic sometimes for judith, or anyone in his family who asks, but mainly judith

- plays more chill songs like something you’d find in the ‘life is strange’ soundtrack (bright eyes, angus and julia stone, iron & wine) (most of those are from enid’s music taste)

- rick and michonne let him use the garage but it still drives them up the walls when he jams out with friends

- doesn’t understand the superbowl but because his dad likes it he makes an effort to watch it with him because no one else will

- jump scares any unsuspecting victim when they turn the corner of a wall

- to calm down whenever he’s stressed/overwhelmed/overstimulated he’ll either go swimming or ask his grandparents to come over (they own a farm) to ride some horses

- allergic to peanuts (not pecans because they had to eat some when they met Gabriel so)

- hates anything deep fried except for fish

- terrible in any form of skating

- roller skating? keeps slamming into the wall

- ice skating? uses those kid-balance-crutches-thingys

- he just has terrible coordination

- obviously gets worse when he looses his eye

- he’s good at bowling tho

- even tho he’s a moody teenager he’s EXTREMELY kind

- switches from sciences to arts and english in high school

- started making little family portraits drawings

- can actually understand old english/shakespeare

- makes blanket forts with judith 24/7

- actually does have a southern accent it’s just more like loris (less noticeable than ricks)

- would 100% watch minecraft youtubers

- bisexual little shit (duh)

- when he was a kid he didn’t have a fear of needles but as he grew up he just DESPISED them like shaking screaming crying and throwing up type deal

- hums a lot to judith, usually the song “baby mine”

- snapchat user

- embarrassingly so. especially when he uses the filters

- has a diary and calls it a diary not a journal

- drops trauma like it’s nothing, like a silly joke (this is basically canon but i’ll still include it in)

- headphones on 24/7 might as well be glued to his head (his ears are too small for earphones and he likes soundproof headphones anyways)

- an entire shelf in his closet is just for comics (and some comics are thin so you can imagine how many he has)

- likes reading other things too instead of just comics

- refuses to wear elastics/tie his hair up even if it gets in his way a lot

- let’s judith put silly hairclips in it

- sometimes forgets to take them out when he gets to school but he doesn’t care much

- would watch: the office, brooklyn nine-nine, the breakfast club & moral orel

El Camino Christmas (2017)

My brother first recommended this movie to me, which should have been an indication that it was not a typical Christmas movie. We have a rather large central cast in this one, too, so hold on.

Eric Norris (Luke Grimes) has recently lost his mother and came to El Camino, Nevada looking for his father, Michael Roth. Upon arriving in town, he meets two deputies, the well-meaning idiot Billy Calhoun (Dax Shepard) and the power-hungry drunk Carl Hooker (Vincent D'Onofrio). Carl is convinced that Eric is a meth dealer because Eric seems a little shady. Which, he does seem a little suspish, but why jump to meth? Eric then goes to find the address where his father lived at some point. There he meets Larry (Tim Allen), the town drunk. Larry is angry and obnoxious, but he's not in denial about it like Carl is.

Fast forward a little bit, Carl and Billy arrest Eric on like one real charge and three fake ones. Then Carl beats the shit out of Eric. Billy freaks out, so when Carl leaves, Billy lets Eric go. However, Eric isn't fast enough and Carl sees Eric's car before he can get out of town. Carl shoots into Eric's engine so he can't keep driving, and Eric bolts into the nearby Vicente's Liquor Mart. Inside the liquor store already is Larry, the owner of the store Vicente (Emilio Rivera), an employee at the store and single mom Kate Daniels (Michelle Mylett), and Kate's 5 year old son Seth (Ashton Essex Bright), who is nonverbal.

Carl is pissed, and Billy is not responding to him because Billy is a little bitch. Eric is not really in a hurry to just go with Carl, so Carl fires his gun into the air outside the liquor store and puts a call in, "shots fired at Vicente's Liquor Mart, back up requested." After quite a scramble inside, Larry shoots Carl in the leg, Eric takes Carl's gun, and now it looks like a hostage situation.

Sheriff Bob Fuller (Kurtwood Smith) arrives on the scene, having no idea about Eric's arrest and release. Billy is trying to explain, but doesn't want to say that he let Eric go because Carl beat the shit out of him. The whole thing turns into a media circus outside as Beth Flowers (Jessica Alba) turns up live on the scene, asking questions Billy doesn't want to answer. She interviews Jewels (Kimberly Quinn), Kate's mom, and finds out there's a child inside, Seth. This gets it boosted to the state and national news, which is what Beth has always wanted, and fianlly the state officers show up to handle the hostage situation. Bob is annoyed that someone is taking over in his town, but he also knows that Billy and Carl are not good cops.

Inside the liquor mart, Carl is trying to convince everyone that he's the good guy. Eric is freaking tf out. Larry is just living for the drama of it all. Kate and Vicente are responding like most normal people probably would. Seth is just chilling, playing with a remote control truck he got for Christmas from Vicente.

It's more of a modern take on Westerns than a Christmas movie, but I was into it. This is the first Tim Allen movie that I've ever liked because I believed his character- the rude, mean drunk everyone hates (I cannot get behind the movies where Tim Allen is a great guy who just also happens to be an asshole). My only complaint is the way they handled Seth. It seemed like he was supposed to be a nonverbal autistic child, but he acted like someone with selective mutism. I will choose to believe that they were trying for representation in this movie, and everyone loved Seth regardless, which is wonderful. I just know the difference better than most, so I'm being picky. Overall, if you like dark humor or westerns, this is worth it. 4 stars.
