Holding On (Part 2/2)
Hunter X F!Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Weeks after your rescue, things seem to be looking up for you. Though Hunters feelings remain the same, how can he express how he truly feels?
warnings: hurt/comfort trope, reader suffers from nightmares, panic attacks, mentions of needles and injections. Very emotional reader. Lots of comfort. Mutual pining. First kiss. Female reader.
Authors note: I completely forgot I was to do a part 2 to this. Sorry for the wait. Queued Post.
Part One | Part Two
Tumblr media
You awaken to the gentle hum of the ship, blinking away the sleep from your eyes. As your vision clears, you notice Echo sitting across the room, head slightly bowed, soft snores escaping his lips. A warm smile spreads across your face at the sight.
You speak softly, not wanting to disturb the peacefulness of the moment. "Echo, hey." He stirs at the sound of your voice, lifting his head and meeting your gaze with a gentle smile.
"Hey," he responds, stepping closer to you. "How are you feeling today?"
It's a question you've grown accustomed to from the whole team, and despite the lingering challenges, you find yourself improving each day. "Good," you reply softly, sitting up and crossing your legs on the bed. "And how about you?"
Echo chuckles and shrugs, his eyes reflecting a mixture of weariness and determination. "Same as usual." He retrieves a scanner, checking your vitals with practiced ease. "Listen, last night you had a nightmare."
You sigh, the memory of the unsettling dreams still lingering in your mind. "Yeah... they've been happening quite frequently."
Sympathy shines in Echo's eyes as he finishes the scan, confirming that everything appears fine. He takes a seat beside you. "Hunter was here and saw you tossing and turning. He asked me to stay until you woke up."
A pang of embarrassment tugs at your heart, realising that Hunter had witnessed your vulnerability even in your sleep. "I'm sorry he had to see that," you admit, cheeks flushing with a mix of gratitude and embarrassment.
Echo's gaze softens as he nods in understanding. "Yeah, nightmares were a constant companion to me for a while. Still have them occasionally. It's... something we've all been through in one way or another."
You find solace in his words, knowing that you're not alone in this struggle. "I guess it's just part of the journey, huh? The memories and the pain find their way back, even when we try to move forward."
Echo's hand rests reassuringly on your shoulder. "It's okay to feel overwhelmed. Healing takes time, and it's different for everyone. But we're here for you, every step of the way."
A small smile tugs at the corners of your lips, appreciating the support from Echo and the rest of the team. "Thank you, Echo. You've all been so kind to me."
He offers a warm smile in return. "Of course, we care about you. You're part of the squad, part of our family."
The word "family" resonates deeply within you, reminding you of the connection you shared with them all. Despite the hardships and the nightmares, you're grateful to have found a place where you belong. Finally.
"Morning. Can I get you a drink or anything?" You look up as you hear a voice from the hallway, and your heart flutters at the sight of Hunter approaching. Echo takes his cue and gives you a final pat on the shoulder before leaving just the two of you.
"I'm alright for now, thanks," you reply, grateful for his offer, and pat the spot beside you.
Smiling, Hunter takes a seat, his fingers strumming somewhat anxiously against his leg. He still hasn't addressed your confession of love from a while ago, uncertain of when the right time and day would be. With the nightmares plaguing your mind in recent weeks, he feels that bringing it up now would only add to the tension.
"Echo tells me you saw me have another nightmare," you speak up, sensing the sudden thickening of the air. "I understand why you didn't want to stay and watch."
Turning his head to look at you, Hunter's eyes shimmer with reassurance. "I didn't want to leave, I just... I know Echo is more familiar with dealing with this type of stuff, and I wasn't sure what to do. I should've stayed."
"I would've been fine either way, don't worry," you whisper, gently placing a hand on his forearm. A warmth flows between you both, and although you're unsure if he feels it too, he lets out a somewhat breathless exhale before clearing his throat.
"We, uh, we're going to be landing on Coruscant in a few hours. Maybe it'll do you some good to get out for a while?" Hunter suggests, but a sudden wave of panic washes over you.
Your eyes widen, and you instinctively shake your head. The memories of being captured and taken by the Empire on a busy planet flood your mind, leaving you feeling vulnerable and unsafe. The Marauder has become your sanctuary, a place of solace and security.
"N-no, no, I can't," you stammer, a wave of unease washing over you, making your skin prickle as if an itch you couldn't scratch.
Hunter's voice is calm and reassuring as he wraps his arm around your shoulder. "Hey, it's going to be alright. I'm right here with you," he says, his presence providing a sense of comfort. "You won't leave my sight. Crosshair will be with us too, on high alert, ready to spot anything suspicious." He tries his best to offer reassurance, but your body begins to tremble, and tears well up in your eyes.
"Not yet. Please... I'm not ready," you plead, your voice filled with fear and vulnerability.
"Okay," Hunter says softly, his touch comforting as he rubs soothing circles on your back. "You can stay on the ship then. I'll stay with you, and we can have one of the others stay too," he suggests, understanding your fear and offering a solution. You nod, quickly wiping away the tears that trickled down your cheeks, trying to steady your panicked breathing.
“Sorry, it's just..." you trail off, finding it difficult to put your feelings into words. But Hunter understands, and he gently pulls you closer until you can rest your head against his chest. The steady rhythm of his heartbeat provides a calming reassurance, especially as he tenderly runs his fingers through your hair. "Maybe another time,"
Tumblr media
There was no denying the nervousness that gripped you as the team landed on Coruscant, even though you chose to stay on the ship. Memories of that traumatic incident flooded your mind, causing your heart to race in your chest, despite being shielded by two of the bravest soldiers you knew.
You're in the cockpit, keeping a watchful gaze through the windshield when you hear hushed whispers coming from the hull. Your curiosity piqued, you turn your attention towards the source and see Hunter and Crosshair engaged in an intense conversation. However, when your eyes meet Hunter's, you notice that his smile, though meant to be reassuring, doesn't quite reach his eyes.
"What's going on?" you ask, voicing the question that lingers in your mind.
Crosshair turns his gaze to you, his expression as stern as ever, as he holds up a stim pack. "Tech's orders," he explains, his voice carrying a tight tone.
A sudden wave of nausea washes over you, triggering haunting images of the torment inflicted by the IS-O droid. Your mouth goes dry, and before you know it, Hunter is rushing to your side, his presence a comforting anchor. "It'll be over in a second," he assures you, his voice laced with concern.
Crosshair approaches cautiously, standing beside you and placing a calming hand on your shoulder. "Don't worry, doll. I'm not as clumsy as Wrecker," he remarks, trying to infuse some levity into the situation. However, despite his attempt at humor, you can't find it in you to laugh.
Gently, Crosshair rolls up the sleeve to your arm and you do your best to hold your nerve and look away but your eyes deceive you and instantly fall to the right where the stim was being raised, needle pointy. The sight of it made you recoil and push the boys away from you.
“No, I’m not doing it.” You rasp, tears stinging your eyes once more. “I’m not ready.”
“Cyare, Tech says it’s imperative you take this stimulant.” Hunter explains, holding his hands up as if to ease a wild creature. “It’s going to be okay.”
“Hunter,” you whimper, shaking your head, “I-I can’t!”
Crosshair remains quiet, watching you closely but his eyes are soft at seeing you so anguished.
"Hey, shhh, hey, it's okay." Hunter's soothing voice brings a momentary calmness as he gently cups your cheeks, his touch grounding you. Your ragged breaths begin to steady as he draws closer.
Overwhelmed by the intensity of the moment, the fear of the injection momentarily fades as Hunter presses his forehead against yours, cooing softly and caressing your skin with his thumbs. "That's it, you're okay," he murmurs, his presence offering a sense of security.
Your eyes flutter closed, unaware of Crosshair's approach as he seizes the opportunity to administer the injection while you're in this state of calm.
"Hunter," you rasp, feeling a gentle hold on your arm, the fear starting to creep back into your consciousness.
"Just focus on me. You're doing so well. So, so well," Hunter encourages, tilting his head slightly, his breath brushing against your lips. In this tender moment, you're overwhelmed with the urge to lean closer and kiss him. But instead, the truth spills from your lips in a burst of honesty.
"I love you."
There's a suspended pause in the air, your eyes squeezed shut in anticipation of his response. You couldn't help but reveal your true feelings. He meant everything to you.
"I love you most, darling," Hunter replies, his words filling your heart with warmth and relief.
When you open your eyes, you notice that Crosshair had discreetly stepped away, and there's a subtle sting in your arm. Huh, guess he was gentle handed.
Crosshair had left with a small smirk, leaving you feeling a mix of flustered and curious. "I... sorry, I don't know why I said that," you stumble over your words, trying to steady your breathing while your heart races with the weight of your admission.
Hunter hums, a knowing expression on his face that tells you he's not entirely convinced by your apology. "Is that why you've said it twice now?" he asks, tilting his head to the side, his eyes searching yours.
Your eyes widen in surprise, your brows furrowing as you try to recall the first night you were rescued. "Twice?" you repeat, your mind racing to piece together the memories.
"Yeah," Hunter confirms softly, his hand moving from your cheek to your arm, soothing the sting from the stim. "A few nights after we rescued you, you were half asleep and it slipped out that you loved me." He holds his breath, hoping beyond hope that your feelings were genuine as he gathers the courage to ask, "Do you?"
You blink up at him, a small smile tugging at the corners of your lips. "Do you?" you ask in return, suddenly remembering that he had just declared his love for you. In front of Crosshair of all people.
"Of course. A lot," he replies, his words filled with sincerity and affection. The warmth that spreads through your chest reassures you that your feelings are reciprocated.
A gentle silence fills the air as the weight of your shared feelings hangs between you. In that moment, the galaxy seems to fade away. All the pain and suffering no longer seemed to matter.
Unable to resist the magnetic pull any longer, Hunter leans in, closing the remaining distance. His lips brush against yours, soft and tender, as if afraid to disturb the fragile beauty of the moment. “I’m going to look after you. I’m going to love you, forever.” He utters against you and you melt into his embrace.
Your heart is soaring with joy, knowing that he was going to be true to his word. It will still take a while to heal, but you knew Hunter would not mind healing with you.

The Clones reacting to you smushing their cheeks
Idk I had this idea and thought it’d be cute. Since the clones are supposed to have round cheeks, visualize live action and not animated 😂
Warnings: none, just fluff.
Fives, Wrecker, Hardcase, & Tup: Loving it so much, will lean into your hands and give you heart eyes. Maybe even press a few kisses to your hand.
Cody, Jesse, Kix, Echo, Vaughn & Mayday: Will blush profusely and look side to side for a second, before giving in and flashing you a tiny smile.
Rex, Hunter, Tech, & Fox: Not sure what to do, just give an awkward smile and internally scream because they secretly find it super cute.
Crosshair, Wolffe & Dogma: Not understanding any of it. Don’t know what you’re doing, not sure that they like it, 3/10 do not recommend.

how they kiss you: part one
Clone force 99:
Tumblr media
character(s): Hunter, Tech, Wrecker, Crosshair, Echo
genre: fluff, romance, crack (kinda)
overview: this is literally just how the boys would kiss you. literally just that.
warning(s): Tech doesn’t know how to kiss, Crosshair is a freak, (jk, he just gets a lil spicy with it), mentioned of making out, slobber, Hunter’s a lil suave, sexual innuendos, references and implications of smut
Tumblr media
Hunter:
-okay, but he’s such a gentleman while doing it?
-it depends on his mood really, and what the occasion is.
-Hunter doesn’t overdo kisses, but out of all of them, he is the one who probably will give the most (besides Wrecker, ahem.)
-He’ll kiss you when you wake up, when you make him food, right before he leaves, and when you go to bed.
-Unless he’s feeling a little… ahem. Y’know. A lil teasing that day
-His kisses are deep but short. Enough to make you blush but also leaving you yearning for more
-he’s a lil tease, but if you pout about it, he’ll just send you that boyish smile and give you another one
-”don’t gotta miss me that much, mesh’la,”
-yeah. That’s him..
-Hunter probably has somewhat chapped lips, (as most clones), but not to the point where they scrape yours. And they’re also somewhat thin (like most clones), so basically, they’re not that different from a regs
-except they’re a bit plushier, if that makes sense
-his stubble WILL scratch against you
-he’ll rarely give tongue unless he’s feeling a little freaky and has the intention on, well, y’know.
-”spread those legs, mesh’la,”
-yeah, y’know, the fun stuff
-so yeah.
-kisses are like a 10/10, would recommend
———————————————————————————
Tumblr media
Tech:
-SO AWKWARD.
-sorry Tech lovers, but like. We’re talking about the Tech, the one who can’t understand or take hints whatsoever…
-a NERD.
-he’s such a virgin, smh
-but like… a subtle virgin, ykwim?
-you wouldn’t know he was a virgin. Like, you literally wouldn’t.
-until you kissed him and he expressed his shock and stated that this was an ‘interesting development.’
-”....fascinating. Do it again. This time I’d like to record the acceleration of our heart rates and the texture of your lips against mine. Allow me to retrieve my datapad–”
-yeah. Like. It’s either the most hottest thing hearing him talk all smart after the kiss or the most ‘dude, are you serious’ kinda thing.
-Tech is not really a kisser, but a pecker
-they’re not frequent, but they’re enough for you to still kinda expect them, yk?
-his kisses are chaste and respectful. Never awkward, but usually quick.
-such as, a kiss on your knuckles or your temple or hair. Tech doesn’t go for lips, but he doesn’t mind if you initiate those to him and he will depending on the mood you or him are in
-i actually like to think his lips are actually kinda soft. Not like, baby smooth, but soft.
-i don’t think he gets needy for them, but there are times where he really just wants to feel your lips on him
-he loves the texture and the warmth.
-he won’t really ask though.
-it’s more for ‘experimentation’, in his words.
-”I’d like to explore this further with you. This time, can you kiss me a little bit firmer?”
-7/10 in the beginning, but Tech learns quickly and is extremely observant, and soon learns exactly where to nip, suck, bite, lick, and kiss.
-just give him a little more lessons
-for science, of course
———————————————————————————
Tumblr media
Wrecker:
-okay guys
-he is NOT as innocent as he looks, i’m sorry
-respectful, yeah. Gentle, yeah.
-but INNOCENT?? Yeah, no.
-have you seen that deleted scene in clone wars with the Padme art?
-”Yeah, she could negotiate with me any time!”
-erm. Guys.
-and that translates in his kisses.
-he’s not shy whatsoever.
-gentle, of course, but you want him to be rough?
-oh, he’ll be rough.
-okay, let me backtrack, so when y’all are still new to a relationship and all that, he’s nervous. Holds you like glass and kisses you like he’s unsure if he even wants to.
-he was scared. He knows he’s a big guy, and doesn’t wanna hurt you.
-but once you get to that point in your relationship with a lotta reassurance and carefulness and praise and teasing
-my man is most definitely a tank
-and packing one too– ahem.
-he kisses a lot. Anywhere. Kinda worships you with his mouth, lips, tongue and all. Take that as you will.
-his kisses are passionate. Deep. Like his love for you, but they can also be gentle. Soft.
-Large hands will come and cradle you or hold your hips in place, he loves picking you up when you kiss.
-his lips are different, they’re PLUSH. Plump, and bigger than his other brothers. Fully cushioned. It’s nice.
-”Hey! One more, baby! Miss ya already!”
-he’s actually a good kisser. Like, you’ll be starstruck
-and he’ll be giggling
-the type to be giggling and grinning into the kiss
———————————————————————————
Tumblr media
Crosshair:
-holy. Where do I even start with him.
-he’s smooth. Annoyingly so.
-the type to kiss you to shut you up
-out of all his brothers, I feel like he gets hit on the most when he’s out and about.
-it’s just cuz he’s ‘mysterious’
-he’s actually never really interested, unless he’s feeling rather frisky and pent up
-when he’s not being angsty and emo, he’s actually low-key kinda flirty with you whenever moments like that actually do pop up.
-and you better believe, all his kisses include tongue.
-you go in for a kiss, that’s you asking for a makeout session, and if he’s feeling mischievous, he’ll tear away and walk away leaving you a breathless and yearning and hot and bothered mess.
-”So desperate for me and all I did was kiss you.”
-BULL. That’s bull. He knew what he was doing.
-there are moments where he’ll be gentle with you though. Usually when he feels vulnerable.
-others, they’re rough yanks to him. Hand on the back of your neck and slamming his lips on yours.
-tongue swiping over your bottom lip before pulling it between his teeth, soothing it with his tongue again before licking into your mouth and sucking on your tongue once or twice.
-messy and they lead to a messy bed afterwards too.
-most definitely a lil freaky
-and guess what? Despite having one of the thinnest lips, they’re baby smooth.
-wanna know why? Skincare.
-he’s obsessed with it. What a princess.
-yet he still looks sixty.
-not down below.
-definitely doesn’t feel like one.
-anywho, that’s not the topic, so he has really soft lips and knows how to use them
-WILL smirk into the kiss
-cocky bastard
-100% recommend if you wanna get laid.
-”Careful what you’re asking for, doll.”
———————————————————————————
Tumblr media
Echo:
-my sweet baby
-i love him sm
-he’s shy in the beginning, but so gentlemanly
-his kisses really express his love for you. Every emotion, every feeling is poured out into that kiss.
-whether it be I love you, I missed you, I’ll be back, be safe, don’t be back too late,
-yeah.
-they’re deep and firm and gentle, but not timid
-he is NOT shy of his love for you
-one arm around your waist, his bionic hand cradling the back of your head, it’s so sweet
-he loves cupping your face with his flesh hand while kissing you
-he just loves the contact
-kisses are frequent, but not too
-he loves dancing with you and dipping you into a kiss.
-cliche, but Echo is an old-school romantic, believe it or not
-swaying around you, spinning you with a warm smile on his face, pale brown orbs glowing gold as he looked at you,
-”you’re beautiful,”
-and it’s a soft-spoken promise as he presses his lips to yours
-he does have cold lips, but it’s a nice feeling against your warm ones
-please pepper his cold skin with kisses, he’ll be a puddle for you and feel so loved, (and warmed up.)
-anywho, he doesn’t have that much experience, so teach him, because he’d love to learn.
-all in all, he just loves you so much–
-so sweet
-”Love you, angel. C’mere, lemme give you another one.”

Happy Weekend! I was wondering if you could do an angst fic w/ TBB x Fem!Reader where they’re on a mission and the ground crumbles beneath her and she falls and they think she could be dead? Thanks! Xx
Happy Thursday! Sorry for the delay, I hope this is somewhat what you had in mind😊
“Echoes in the Dust”
The Bad Batch x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Falling, presumed death, grief, survivor’s guilt, panic
The ridge was narrow. Too narrow.
You moved with your blaster raised and your jaw set, following closely behind Wrecker as the team pushed forward. The rocky terrain was riddled with ravines, fault lines, and fractured earth—left scarred by years of shelling and seismic bombardments. The mission was supposed to be simple: infiltrate a Separatist holdout and extract data.
It was never simple.
“Movement on the northwest cliff,” you called into your comm. “Looks like clankers repositioning.”
“Copy that,” Echo’s voice crackled. “Tech, I’m sending coordinates to your pad.”
Hunter glanced back at you, just a flick of his head, a silent confirmation. You nodded. I’m good.
You were always good. Until the ground gave out beneath you.
It was subtle at first—just a soft shift under your boots, like loose gravel. But then came the snap. A hollow, wrenching crack that echoed through the canyon like thunder. The rock splintered beneath your feet. You didn’t have time to scream.
Just time to look up—into Hunter’s eyes.
“[Y/N]—!”
You dropped.
The last thing you saw was his outstretched hand, just a second too late.
Then the world became air and stone and darkness.
Above, everything exploded into chaos.
Hunter hit the ridge on his knees, arms dragging at loose rock, clawing like an animal trying to dig you back out. “No, no, no—”
Echo slid in beside him, scanning with one cybernetic arm extended. “I can’t see her. It’s—kriff—it’s a vertical drop. She went straight down.”
“I should’ve grabbed her!” Wrecker was pacing in wild circles, fists clenched, eyes wet. “I was right in front of her—I should’ve—she was right there!”
“She didn’t even scream,” Echo murmured. “She just… vanished.”
“I’m scanning for vitals,” Tech said, already tapping furiously at his datapad, but his voice was thin. “There’s no signal. No movement. Her comm—either it was destroyed in the fall or… or she’s—”
“Don’t finish that sentence,” Hunter snapped, voice like a knife.
The wind howled through the crevice she’d fallen into, dragging dust and silence with it.
Crosshair stood several meters back, motionless, his DC-17M dangling loosely in his grip.
“Say it,” Echo growled, glaring at him. “You’ve been quiet this whole time. Just say whatever snide thing you’re thinking so we can all lose it together.”
Crosshair’s eyes flicked up, storm-gray and unreadable.
“She’s dead.”
“Shut your mouth!” Wrecker roared, storming toward him, but Echo shoved himself in between.
“She could be alive,” Echo said fiercely, though his voice cracked. “It’s possible. People survive worse.”
Crosshair didn’t move. “Not from that height.”
“I said shut it!” Wrecker shoved him back, but it was all broken fury—guilt bleeding through his rage. “She was smiling, dammit. Right before. She looked at me and said, ‘We’ll all get out of this,’ and I didn’t even answer her back—!”
“Stop.” Hunter’s voice cut clean through the storm.
He stood now, rigid and furious, his back to the team, staring into the void where you’d fallen.
“She’s alive,” he said.
Tech looked up from his pad slowly. “Statistically—”
“I don’t give a damn about statistics.” His voice was hoarse. “I felt her. She was right here. She’s part of us. She wouldn’t just be… gone.”
His hand trembled slightly. Not from fear. From the weight of it.
He was the one who told you to cover the flank. He was the one who said the ridge was stable enough.
She trusted you, Crosshair had said.
No. She trusted him.
And he’d failed her.
Hunter turned and began strapping a rope to his belt.
“Sergeant?” Tech asked cautiously.
“We’re going down there. All of us. We don’t stop until we find her. I don’t care if we have to tear the planet apart.”
Echo moved first. “I’m with you.”
Wrecker stepped up beside them, his breath hitching. “Me too. Always.”
Even Crosshair nodded, silent again.
As Hunter stood at the edge, ready to descend into the place where you vanished, a single thought thundered in his mind:
She can’t be gone.
Not you.
Not when your laugh was still echoing in his ears. Not when you told him last night, during watch, that you’d be careful. Not when he never got to tell you that he needed you more than he ever let on.
He’d find you.
Or die trying.
The descent into the ravine was slow, agonizing, and silent.
The team moved as one—Hunter leading with a lantern clipped to his belt, casting narrow beams over jagged rock and twisted earth. Echo and Tech followed with scanners, mapping every crevice. Wrecker moved boulders with his bare hands, gritting his teeth with each one. Crosshair, ever the rear guard, watched from behind, but his silence was sharp, eyes flicking everywhere.
Hunter’s voice echoed through the narrow stone corridor. “Check every ledge. Every outcropping.”
“She could’ve hit a rock shelf and rolled,” Echo said, carefully scanning below. “Or worse…”
“Don’t,” Wrecker said. “Don’t even say it. She’s alive. She has to be.”
They moved deeper into the ravine—until the beam of Hunter’s light caught something.
“Wait,” Tech whispered, grabbing Echo’s arm.
There—thirty feet below them, half-buried under collapsed shale and bloodied stone—was a figure.
Your figure.
You were sprawled on your side, your body twisted unnaturally, one leg crushed beneath a slab of rock. Blood soaked through your jacket. Your head had struck something hard—too hard—and you weren’t moving.
Hunter nearly dropped the lantern.
“[Y/N]—!”
He was down the rest of the way before anyone could stop him, crashing to his knees beside you.
“Don’t move her!” Echo shouted, sliding in behind. “Not yet. Let me check—”
But Hunter’s hands were already trembling as they hovered over you, too afraid to touch. Too afraid that this—this fragile, broken thing—was all that was left.
“She’s breathing,” Echo said. “Shallow. Pulse is—kriff—irregular. She’s lost a lot of blood.”
Wrecker dropped beside them, tears already streaking the dust on his cheeks.
“Is she—? She’s gonna make it, right? Echo?”
“She’s unconscious,” Echo said quietly. “And we need to get her out now.”
“Spinal trauma is possible,” Tech added, eyes locked on his scanner. “Multiple fractures. Her femur is broken—bleeding into the tissue. Concussion. Rib damage. Internal bleeding likely.”
Crosshair didn’t come any closer. He stood just at the edge of the light, staring down at you with an unreadable expression.
“You said she was dead,” Wrecker growled, voice shaking.
Crosshair didn’t respond.
Because he knew now—death would’ve been kinder than this.
The med evac was chaotic.
Hunter carried you the entire climb back—refused to let anyone else even try. He held you close to his chest like something fragile, as if you’d fall again if he let go. Your blood had soaked through his armor by the time they reached the surface.
Back on the Marauder, the team worked together in silent urgency. Wrecker helped secure you to the gurney. Echo and Tech patched what they could. Crosshair kept watch, pacing like a trapped animal.
And Hunter… he sat beside you.
His hands were covered in your blood.
“I should’ve caught you,” he whispered.
No one argued. No one corrected him.
Because part of them believed it too.
You twitched in your sleep once—just a small movement, a flicker of pain across your brow—and Hunter nearly leapt out of his seat.
“She moved!” he barked.
“She’s still unconscious,” Tech reminded. “That doesn’t guarantee cognition. The swelling in her brain—”
“I don’t care what the scans say,” Hunter growled. “She’s fighting.”
He reached down and brushed a blood-matted strand of hair from your face.
“You hear me?” he whispered, voice cracking. “You hold on. You fight like you always do. You’re not going to leave us like this.”
Wrecker sat on the floor beside the cot, staring at your hand dangling off the edge.
“You’re not allowed to die, okay?” he said, softly, almost childlike. “You still owe me a rematch.”
Echo leaned against the wall, arms crossed, jaw clenched tight. “She shouldn’t have been the one to fall. It should’ve been—”
“Don’t,” Tech said, just as quiet. “We all blame ourselves. That’s not useful now.”
Only Crosshair said nothing.
But laterwhen the others had finally dozed off in shifts, and the med droid was running scans—he sat beside you alone.
“Idiots, all of them,” he muttered. “They think they lost you. I know better.”
He rested his hand beside yours.
“You’re not dead. You’re just too damn stubborn.”
There was a pause.
“…So come back. Or I’ll never forgive you.”
You didn’t wake up that night. Or the next.
But your vitals held.
You were still fighting.
And the squad—your family—never left your side.
It started with a sound.
A weak, choked wheeze from the medbay.
Wrecker heard it first—he’d been sitting on the floor beside your cot for the past hour, humming under his breath and telling you stories like he had every day since they pulled you from the ravine.
But when he heard your breathing stutter—heard that awful, wet gasp—he was on his feet in an instant.
“Tech!”
Footsteps thundered in from the cockpit.
Tech was there in seconds, datapad in one hand, expression already shifting from calculation to panic.
“Vitals are dropping. Pulse erratic. Respiratory distress—dammit—her lung may have collapsed.”
The med droid whirred a warning in binary, and Tech shoved it aside, already working to stabilize you. Wrecker stood frozen, fists clenched at his sides, helpless as machines blared and blood began soaking through your bandages again.
“She was getting better,” Wrecker whispered. “She was breathing normal yesterday. You said she was stabilizing!”
“I said her vitals were holding,” Tech snapped, voice tight and uncharacteristically sharp. “I also said we didn’t know the full extent of internal damage yet. The concussion is worsening. There’s pressure building against her brainstem. Her body is going into systemic shock.”
“Then fix it!” Wrecker’s voice cracked. “You fix everything! Please—”
Tech’s hands moved fast, too fast—grabbing gauze, recalibrating IV drips, re-administering stimulants. But beneath the precision was fear. A gnawing, brittle kind of fear that made his fingers shake.
“I’m trying,” Tech said, barely above a whisper now. “I’m trying, Wrecker.”
Your body jerked suddenly—just a twitch, but it sent a ripple of panic through them both.
Tech cursed under his breath. “She needs proper medical facilities. A bacta tank. A neuro-regeneration suite. This ship is not equipped to handle this kind of trauma long-term.”
“So what, we just wait and watch her die?” Wrecker whispered.
“No!” Tech snapped, louder this time. “We don’t let her die.”
He slammed his fist down on the console—just once—but the sound echoed like a gunshot through the Marauder. Wrecker flinched. Tech never lost control. Never raised his voice. Never made a sound unless it meant something.
And now, he looked like he was about to break.
“I’ve calculated a thousand outcomes,” Tech murmured, softer now. “And every variable keeps changing. Her body is unpredictable. She’s unstable. But she’s also resilient. She’s survived things that should’ve killed her ten times over.”
He looked up then, eyes glassy behind his goggles.
“But if we don’t find a way to get her real care—soon—we will lose her.”
Wrecker turned away, one massive hand covering his face. He’d never felt so useless. Not when they’d crashed on Ordo. Not when they’d been stranded on Ryloth. Never like this.
“I don’t know what to do,” he said. “I’m strong. I can carry her. Fight for her. But I can’t fix her, Tech. I can’t even hold her without hurting her worse.”
Tech approached quietly, placing a hand on Wrecker’s shoulder—a rare gesture.
“You are helping,” he said. “You’re keeping her tethered. She needs that. She needs us.”
The med console beeped—soft, steady. A pause.
Then a spike.
Her heart rate surged. Your head tilted slightly to the side. Blood trickled from your nose. Another alarm.
“No, no, no—stay with us,” Tech muttered, already grabbing the stabilizer. “Don’t go. Not yet.”
Wrecker dropped to his knees beside you, voice trembling.
“C’mon, sweetheart,” he whispered. “You don’t get to leave like this. You didn’t even finish your story about the time you pantsed Crosshair in front of the general. Remember that?”
He sniffed, brushing a strand of hair from your sweat-slicked face. “You said you’d tell me how you pulled it off without getting court-martialed. Said you’d sing me that dumb lullaby you like. Said you’d stay.”
Your fingers twitched.
A tiny movement. Almost nothing.
But Wrecker gasped.
“She moved!”
Tech’s head snapped up. “What?”
“She moved! Her hand—right here—she twitched.”
Tech scanned you again. “Neurological activity spiked. Minimal, but—”
You let out a weak, pained breath.
Another wheeze. Then a garbled sound—almost like a word, trapped somewhere deep in your throat.
“…H-Hun…ter…”
Both men froze.
Tears filled Wrecker’s eyes.
“She said his name…”
“She’s still in there,” Tech whispered, blinking quickly. “Cognitive reflexes are initiating. That’s… that’s something.”
He turned to Wrecker, and for once, there was nothing cold or clinical in his tone.
“There’s still time.”
They kept watch through the night. Neither slept.
Wrecker read to you from the old datapad you always teased him for hoarding.
Tech adjusted your vitals every hour, even when nothing had changed, just to keep his hands busy.
And in the silence between beeping monitors and heavy breaths, they both spoke to you—about nothing, about everything.
Wrecker told you about the time he and you almost got arrested on Corellia for stealing bad caf. How your laugh had made him feel human again.
Tech told you the probability of your survival was now sitting at 18.6%, up from 9%. And that statistically, if anyone could beat the odds, it was you.
Wrecker chuckled through his tears. “Told you, didn’t I? Too stubborn to die.”
Tech looked down at your still hand, then whispered—just once—“Please… don’t.”
The Marauder was silent.
Tech had finally collapsed from exhaustion in the co-pilot seat, goggles askew, still clutching the datapad with your vitals. Wrecker was curled on the floor next to your bed, snoring lightly with one hand near yours. Crosshair sat with his back to the far wall, arms crossed, eyes closed—but not asleep.
And Echo stayed awake.
He always did.
He was seated at your bedside, one cybernetic hand gently resting on the edge of the cot. The hum of the ship’s systems filled the space between the heart monitor’s steady rhythm. Your breathing—still shallow, but no longer ragged—was the only music Echo needed.
He hadn’t moved for hours.
You’d gotten worse. Then better. Then worse again. And through all of it, he’d held on. Let the others break. Let them rage. He had to be the one who didn’t fall apart.
But now, as he sat alone in the flickering light, his thumb brushed your bandaged hand—and he whispered, “You can’t keep scaring us like this.”
Your lips moved.
Barely.
He straightened. “Hey…?”
Your fingers twitched under his hand.
Your head shifted slightly on the pillow, a soft whimper escaping your throat. Your eyelashes fluttered—slow, disoriented, like your mind hadn’t caught up to your body.
“Hey.” Echo leaned closer, voice trembling now. “Come on… come on, mesh’la. You’re safe.”
Your eyes opened.
Just a sliver at first. Squinting into the low light.
“…Echo…?”
It was a rasp, a whisper, but it was real.
Echo’s mouth fell open.
And for the first time since the fall—since the screaming, the blood, the race against time—his composure cracked.
You blinked slowly, pain visible behind your glazed eyes. “W-Where…?”
“Still on the Marauder. We haven’t moved. We couldn’t.” His voice was low and hoarse. “You weren’t stable enough.”
Your brow furrowed faintly. “Hurts.”
“I know.” He gently adjusted your oxygen mask, smoothing your hair back. “You took a hell of a fall.”
You tried to shift, but your body betrayed you—wracked with weakness, ribs aching, limbs sluggish.
Echo placed a firm hand on your shoulder. “Don’t move yet. Please. Just stay still.”
You obeyed—too tired to fight it.
“I thought…” You coughed, eyes fluttering. “Thought I heard Wrecker crying.”
Echo actually smiled, though his eyes were wet. “Yeah. That happened.”
You let out the faintest exhale—almost a laugh. “He’s a big softie.”
“Only for you,” Echo whispered, squeezing your hand carefully. “You scared him half to death.”
There was a long pause.
You looked up at him, brow knitting again.
“…You thought I was gone, didn’t you?”
Echo’s throat tightened. “We all did.”
“But you stayed.”
“Of course I stayed.”
Your gaze lingered on him. He looked exhausted. Hollowed out. His prosthetic arm twitched like he’d been clenching it too long.
“You haven’t slept.”
He laughed quietly—bitter and warm all at once. “Didn’t want to miss this.”
Another silence.
And then, so faint it barely reached him, you whispered—
“…I’m sorry.”
Echo stared at you, stunned.
“For what?” he breathed.
“For falling. For worrying you. For being weak.”
His expression broke. “No.”
He leaned in, voice rough. “Don’t ever say that. You didn’t fall because you were weak. You fell because the ground gave out. Because war is cruel. Because life isn’t fair.”
He blinked back tears. “But you lived. And that means more than anything.”
Your vision blurred—not from injury this time, but from the emotion in his voice.
He looked at you like you were the most important thing in the galaxy.
“I thought I lost you,” he said. “And I wasn’t ready.”
You let your eyes close again, overwhelmed by exhaustion—but you smiled softly through cracked lips.
“I’m here.”
He pressed his forehead gently to your hand, exhaling a shaky breath.
“You’re here.”
When the others returned—when Hunter stumbled in and dropped to his knees, when Wrecker cried again, when Crosshair stood frozen for a full minute, just staring—you were already asleep.
But Echo met Hunter’s gaze.
And nodded.
“She woke up.”
And for the first time in days, the silence didn’t feel so heavy.

"Of course that's what you're wearing."
Crosshair's unimpressed drawl drew your attention from where you were fastening and concealing your weapons. Considering everyone else had already changed into their civvies, it had to be Hunter that Crosshair was addressing, and one look at the sergeant proved why.
Whereas the rest of the team opted to keep themselves covered in a way that wasn't too unlike their Republic-issued blacks, Hunter didn't shy away from letting his skin breathe. His hands and arms were wrapped up to his elbows, but there was a sizable stretch of skin and muscle leading up to the light-colored sleeveless tunic he wore.
Tech had always ensured that the temperature of the Marauder's interior was regulated, but something had to have been off, because you could've sworn it had just gotten at least ten times hotter.
You were still staring, and Force willing not ogling, as Hunter raised his hands defensively at Crosshair. "What?"
Crosshair scoffed as he shouldered on his pack. He lifted a single eyebrow and flicked his toothpick at his brother. It bounced unceremoniously off one of Hunter's tensed biceps.
The sergeant just smirked in response and shrugged. "I earned 'em." His tone was playful as he lifted his own pack and secured it over his shoulders. "I think I'm entitled to showing 'em off for once."
And thank the Force you did, you would have said if you didn't already have a durasteel lock on your own jaw.
"Ha-ha, yeah!" Wrecker clapped his brother on the shoulder. Hunter rolled it back in response, but nevertheless widened his sly smile as he looked up at Wrecker. "I think ya' look great, Sarge." Wrecker then turned his attention on you, giving your shoulder a nudge with his own. "Right, Sunny?"
You narrowed your eyes at him, but only for a quick moment. Subtlety had never been Wrecker's specialty, and you should have remembered that when you had stayed at 79's until last call with him and spilled out all your secrets. That's what you got for indulging in truth serum for once.
You schooled your expression into nonchalance the best you could and nodded. "Yeah." You lifted your blaster and gave it one last unnecessary check. "It definitely suits you."
Hunter huffed. "I don't even want to know what you mean by that." You snorted in amusement before Hunter refocused and addressed the gathered squad. "We shouldn't be here long, especially since we're dividing and conquering. Tech, Wrecker, you're clear on your objective?"
Tech looked up from his datapad and nodded as he adjusted his goggles. "That is correct."
Wrecker gestured over to Tech with his thumb. "What he said."
Hunter nodded at them both. "Great." He turned to his youngest brother. "Crosshair?"
Crosshair's brow rose once again. "Do you really have to ask?"
Hunter participated in their typical impromptu staring contest for a few heartbeats before he let out a sigh. "I'm taking that as a yes." His attention then shifted to you, and you fought a hard-won battle to not take a visible breath as his dark eyes found yours. "Sunny, you're with me." Hunter motioned for the squad to follow as he stepped towards the open hatch. "Let's move out."
You kept your attention on the way ahead as the squad walked out of the hangar together and through the throngs of sentients that crowded the planet's streets. Eventually, as you and Hunter got closer to your own destination, Tech, Wrecker, and Crosshair peeled off to attend to their own objectives. You tried not to tense as you kept yourself close to Hunter's side.
"Hmm." Hunter's hum got your attention, and you looked over to see his brow creased the way it often did when he was reaching out with his senses. "It's gonna be crowded in there." He gave you a glance and nodded. "Stay close. We might have to push our way through."
You nodded and obeyed, getting close enough for one of his arms to brush against yours. It was hard to focus with the warmth of his skin meeting yours in endless succession, but you threw your mindset into the mission as the two of you stepped inside the cantina.
As soon as you crossed the threshold, you could feel the eyes on you—only they weren't on you specifically. They were on him.
You could have accredited the lingering stares to the fact that Hunter presented much more like a regular clone than the others, and he may have been getting some undue attention for that, but you could identify the kind of looks he was getting all too well. Gazes flickered up and down, heads did double takes, and some people even giggled with their peers.
You should have found it amusing. The others certainly would have if they were there. Instead, it filled you with a pool of a sickly feeling almost like dread, coiling in your stomach and twisting into an uncomfortable knot.
It was an unmistakable wave of intense jealousy, and you weren't strong enough to fight it.
You were drawing yourself even closer to Hunter's side before you could stop it, your eyes cautiously scanning your surroundings as you did so. Another strong flare of jealousy's angry green haze saw you taking his arm and wrapping your hands around it, securing you to his side as you smiled in satisfaction at the way many of the hungry scares awkwardly flickered away from the two of you.
But your actions didn't go unnoticed by him. Hunter stopped pushing through the crowd long enough to turn his head and look at you with his full attention. "You okay?"
You looked up at him with innocent eyes, and his gaze gestured to the grasp you still had on his arm. You offered him a quick nod. "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Just..." You glanced around the room again. "A little overwhelmed."
Hunter's warm eyes studied yours as he softened. "I get it. We won't be here long, though, like I said before." He nodded towards the bar. "C'mon. We're almost there."
You went forward with him, selfishly indulging in the feeling of his warmth—and the arm you still had a tight grasp on. You were pleased to note it was just as strong and solid as it had looked.
Once Hunter had successfully maneuvered your way to the bar and had made enough room for the two of you there, you reluctantly let go of his arm and simply stood at his side. Your arms were still brushing at the close proximity, your focus was still going to any wandering eyes that caught sight of him.
You should have been focused on the objective and helping Hunter get information out of the bartender, but you had other priorities. Like Hunter had insinuated before, he had worn what he was wearing for a reason. Did that mean he wanted one of these people to approach him?
The thought alone made you sick. It shouldn't have, because you weren't his and he wasn't yours, but that didn't matter.
"You sure you're okay?"
Hunter's low voice of concern brought your attention back to him. You glanced over to see him furrowing his brow at you.
"You seem on edge."
You shrugged and looked past the sergeant, seeing someone just behind him staring holes through his back. You fought back a growl and forced yourself to answer normally. "I'm just seeing a lot of eyes on you." You blinked and quickly rushed to correct yourself. "Us."
But the damage had already been done. One of Hunter's eyebrows shot up in suspicion as he continued to look at you. "That's nothing new, especially not for me."
You circled your jaw. "Yeah, but..." Your gaze flickered over him before you could stop it. "It's different this time."
Hunter looked ahead, his expression taut as he pondered something, and then you saw his dark eyes light up with realization. You winced quietly before he even had the chance to speak.
"Wait." He looked over at you again, the small pieces of hair that escaped his bandana bouncing on his forehead as the corners of his lips rose in a small smile. "Are you jealous?"
You forced out a scoff and began to flounder. "No, I’m not!" You looked down, your gaze searching. "I-I'm just..."
It was too late. You were too flustered to think of a viable excuse, and your ears and face were burning so hot that you were half-convinced Hunter's senses had already picked up on the temperature change.
"Oh, you really are jealous." Hunter said the words with a chuckle, and his bare shoulder playfully nudged yours.
You fought off the sudden waves of embarrassment valiantly and looked anywhere but at him. He was clearly still joking, and you were stuck between playing it off again or at least wanting him to put the pieces together. This one-sided thing you had going on was getting too exhausting.
That made his next words even less of a surprise than they probably should have been. "Wait... why would you be jealous?"
Your gaze flickered over to meet Hunter's, but you looked away from him just as quickly. Your stare focused on your fingers as they picked at the skin around your nails. This was not a conversation you wanted to have here, especially not when he was looking like that.
"Hey." Hunter's voice was achingly soft now as he set a gentle hand on your shoulder. "Look at me."
You relented, your guilty gaze finding his—which was full of comfort and, surprisingly, understanding. Your brow knit together, though the knot in your stomach began to loosen when Hunter's hand suddenly moved from your shoulder to the one you had closest to him on the bar. His stare lowered and watched as his wrapped hand wove his fingers through yours and gave your own hand a soft squeeze.
Hunter looked at you again, and he gave you a reassuring nod. "You have nothing to worry about."
All you could do was blink at him, any words you could have possibly wanted to say dying on your tongue. You were trying to read him and make sure you weren't misinterpreting the signals he was sending you. Was he saying that because he had requited feelings, or just to assure you that he wasn't looking for anything from anyone?
Hunter huffed and gave his head a fond shake. "You've been noticing the eyes on me, and I..." He paused, his jaw tightened as he narrowed his eyes at something behind you. "Have been tracking the eyes on you."
Your eyes widened in surprise. You must have been so wrapped up in your jealousy towards Hunter that you failed to notice how people had been looking at you, too. Your civvies did hug your body in a way your typical tactical gear didn't...
"Are you saying what I think you're saying?" You had no choice but to ask. You couldn't live with the anticipation anymore.
Hunter nodded and looked at your entwined hands again. He gave yours another squeeze. "The feeling's mutual."
You couldn't keep the smile from growing on your lips. Honestly, you should have known better, but reason and feelings never paired well together, anyway. All you could do was let out a soft laugh as you also looked down at your hands.
"What do you think?"
When Hunter spoke again, you looked up, suddenly realizing how much closer the two of you had gotten. Hunter clocked the minimized distance, too, his warm gaze flickering to your lips before he went on.
"Should we give them something else to stare at?"
You hummed, pretending to have to consider the offer even as your traitorous body already started to lean closer. "I think that's a good plan, Sarge."
Hunter chuckled, though the warmth that sound brought you was nothing compared to the feeling of his lips on yours.
You inhaled one another like it was your first full breath of oxygen, with Hunter's free hand catching the side of your face and jaw to keep you locked in place. Meanwhile, your free hand rose to his bicep, anchoring yourself to him as each breath passed between you and each tease of his tongue threatened to make your knees buckle underneath you. It was utterly dizzying, and it made you completely forget about everything and everyone else around you, for better or for worse.
When you parted, Hunter was quick to clock the sight of your hand on his arm. His lips gave way to a sly smile, and your brow shot up as you mused upon his words from earlier.
"This is what you wanted all along, isn't it?" You shook your head at him in fondness. "I was the person you were 'showing 'em off' for."
Hunter shrugged, playing innocent for now. "Maybe, maybe not."
You scoffed. "Do we even have a real objective here?"
"Well, we did." He gave your hand another squeeze. "But we just completed it."
You gave your eyes a roll. "Force, Hunter..."
"The others' objectives are real, though."
You couldn't help laughing at that. Leave it to the sergeant of the Bad Batch to use an actual mission as a way to somehow get you both to finally break the ice. "And the bartender?" You nodded towards the nearest one. "You just made that up?"
"Not really." Hunter's smirk remained as he caught the bartender's eye. "I do need to talk to them... to get us some drinks."
You blinked at him before you laughed even harder. You shifted your hand onto the arm closest to you and rested your head against his bare shoulder the best you could manage, relishing in the wave of content that rolled over you.
It was an unconventional way for your mutual feelings to surface, but that was just who Hunter was, and you couldn't hide the way you loved it.

(The Bad Batch) How He Is with His Newborn Baby
Hunter: He adores them and spends a lot of time holding them. Hunter is also really big on the whole skin-to-skin contact, so it becomes a common thing to see him walking around shirtless with the baby cradled snugly in one arm. He gets pretty good at performing tasks around the home with the baby. He's enraptured by the little one, but also very attentive to your needs. Hunter makes sure you take the time you need to eat, shower, and just have time to relax every now and then. Literally, any excuse to hold them some more, and he's giving it. He is good at rocking the baby in such a way that they fall asleep instantly in his arms.
Wrecker: The baby has him wrapped around their tiny finger already. He's already telling them how much he loves them and how proud he is. Wrecker also just spends time telling them all the fun things they're going to do together when they're old enough to walk, talk, etc. He is so unbelievably gentle and sweet with the little one in general, and also of course with you. He'll randomly stare at you and tell you how beautiful you are and what a good job you're doing.
Tech: This baby is not at the point where they can retain any information yet, but Tech spends plenty of time just talking to them. He talks about anything his mind can conjure up. The baby becomes so accustomed to the sound of his voice that it has quite the soothing effect. Additionally, Tech is very quick to pick up on the baby's cycle of needs. It gets to the point where they cry, and he can glance at his chrono and pinpoint exactly what they need according to the little schedule he's created. He also regularly checks the baby's weight, vitals, to make sure they're in good health. From time to time he voices yet again how fascinating the miracle of birth is and how proud he is of you, also checking your health.
Echo: Spends the first few weeks only holding the baby when sitting down. He can't get over how fragile they are, and he just sits there and stares at them as long as he can in amazement and adoration before they wake up from their nap or fuss about something they need. When the baby bursts into a fit of wails, he goes into a bit of a panic mode worrying about what's wrong. Eventually, he gets more comfortable and gets used to the idea that the baby is just communicating a need. It doesn't take long for him to become a professional dad. He gets pretty organized with the diaper bag and supplies so that he can just pull out whatever the baby needs at the drop of a hat.
Crosshair: He spends a good while just quietly holding the baby in his arms and watching them. Internally, he thinks they're absolutely precious and realizes he loves them so much. He already knew he'd love them, but he didn't realize it would feel like this. The baby is heart-wrenchingly cute, and he'd do anything to protect them. You come to find that he becomes more vocal, telling the baby in a sort of Crosshair-style sarcasm that they need to get their act together every time he has to handle a diaper change, feeding, etc. He's up with you at any hour day or night to help with the baby without a complaint, and regularly makes sure you're taking care of yourself also.

Shifting Loyalties
No warnings. 2.3k words
Tumblr media
Word Count: 2.3k
Warnings: nada
Pairings: SFW The Batch x fem!reader
Summary: You're a dropout Jedi who left with Echo to join the Bad Batch. You and The Batch are assigned to work with the 501st. The Batch get a bit spicy about how friendly you are with the regs.
NSFW Edition
Inspired by physical touch by @queenariesofnarnia :') it's perfect
The Marauder's landing ramp wasn't halfway extended, and your foot tapped with anticipation. Spotting the 501st squadron as you descended, they stood in a group, not in formation, eagerly awaiting your arrival. Working with the Bad Batch was a thrill, but you couldn't deny missing your first squad.
When Echo departed, Hunter extended you the same offer to join the Bad Batch. As a Jedi dropout, you no longer belonged on Coruscant or in the Order. Your path diverged, but that didn't mean you didn't occasionally yearn for your old teammates.
Before it was fully safe to exit, you hurled yourself out of the ship, dashing toward the awaiting clones. The Batch were momentarily stunned; even Tech tore his eyes away from his datapad at your sudden outburst.
"Shorty!" Fives exclaimed as you barrelled into his arms, spinning you around before settling you among your old squad.
"Shorty?" Crosshair sneered, visibly annoyed by what he was seeing. You darted between the regs, embracing each one, sometimes two at a time.
You meshed well with the Batch, but they weren't the touchy-feely type. Consequently, you lacked the courage to breach physical boundaries, especially considering how often you seemed to get under their skin. After your fallout with the Order, you couldn't risk facing any more rejection.
As the Batch followed after you, Wrecker swiveled his head toward his brothers, clearly confused. "Wha- what's going on?" He scratched his head, gesturing in your direction. "What's all that about?" He referred to your playful antics with the group of regs, laughing and roughhousing like a child.
You weren't cold toward them; in fact, you engaged in comfortable teasing. However, you maintained a professional distance, refraining from physical contact, let alone running into their arms.
Echo shrugged, a smile playing on his lips as he reminisced about his former life. "She's just saying hi," he explained. "She served with the 501st for a long time, even before I was taken to Skako Minor." Nostalgia washed over him at the sight of you standing with his 501st brothers - just like old times.
Hunter blinked in astonishment. "That's normal for her?" He had never witnessed you so carefree and jovial before.
Tech tucked his datapad away, adjusting his goggles as he observed the scene. "By their reactions, this doesn't seem abnormal for her. Why this is the first time we're witnessing it, I'm uncertain." He turned to Echo. "Have you seen this behavior before?"
"Sure, but you're all overthinking it," Echo replied, realizing the tension building among his brothers. "She's just comfortable with them." He regretted the last sentence immediately, sensing their egos regarding regular clones turning this joyful reunion into an unspoken competition.
"If she's so comfortable with them," Crosshair spat, "Maybe she should go back to her precious regs." It was exactly the response Echo feared.
The group watched as you responded to Jesse's teasing with a flirtatious elbow, then stumbled slightly into Rex, who steadied you with a hand on your shoulder.
"It's good to see you. Keeping Echo out of trouble?" Rex smiled down at you, then glanced at Echo standing among the Batch. His smile faded upon noticing Clone Force 99 in various stages of glowering. He patted your shoulder. "Uh… why don't you find General Skywalker while I brief the rest of your squad?"
Without a glance back at the Batch, you followed the order. Anakin briefed you on the mission before easing into conversation. "How are you holding up?" He leaned against a crate of supplies.
"It was hard at first, but I feel…" You paused, feeling a warmth spreading over your chest, grateful it rarely reached your cheeks. "At home with the Batch." You couldn't suppress the smile the thought of the Batch brought you. They made your life exciting, and you felt safe fighting alongside them.
Anakin hadn't missed the looks Clone Force 99 threw your way, especially the nastier ones aimed at the clones you hugged. "I'm glad to hear that, Short Stuff." When Hunter and Wrecker glanced over at the two of you with something like disdain, Anakin smirked. Oh, this is too easy. He leaned down just enough so that your face eclipsed his, just out of sight of the Batchers. "Though, it looks like your new crew isn't too happy with you."
You jerked back, incredulous. "Excuse me?" By the time you whipped around, the Batch were already to the Marauder. Everything seemed normal. You shoved Anakin back. "Kriff off, Skywalker."
Anakin raised his hands in surrender. "Alright, alright. Anyway, it looks like it's time for you to rejoin your squad. Good luck."
"Pfft, good luck?" You pulled a face and cracked your neck. "I don't need luck on missions." You may have missed the Jedi General, but you did not miss his arrogant humor.
Anakin smirked as you headed back out and out of earshot. "It wasn't for the mission."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Inside the ship, the atmosphere shifted when you returned. Hunter, Wrecker, Crosshair, Tech, and Echo were scattered about on various tasks, their sudden silence and exchanged glances going unnoticed by you as you busied yourself with pulling out sleeping supplies. There was no way you were missing a chance to sleep off the ship.
Sat cleaning his gun, Crosshair’s eyes bore into your back. It didn’t take Hunter’s senses for you to feel his glare. Still packing, you said over your shoulder, “What is it, Crosshair?”
“Oh, nothing,” Crosshair sneered, leaning forward. “Just didn’t realize you missed your regs so much.”
“And why wouldn’t I miss them?” You snorted, not realizing that earned you an even nastier look from the white-haired clone. “Some people have friends, Crosshair. What’s wrong with that?”
Raising an eyebrow, you turned to face him, a smirk playing on your lips. "And what's wrong with that? Some of us actually have friends, you know."
Tech, engrossed in a control panel, interjected, "He's not questioning your friendships. He's just pointing out the obvious preference you seem to have for your old squadmates."
Your hands stilled, and you turned to face them, sensing an underlying tension in the air. "What's going on here?"
Wrecker shuffled awkwardly, his expression troubled. "We just thought you were happier with us."
"I am happy!" you exclaimed. "But it's natural to be excited to see old friends, isn't it?"
When Wrecker’s defeated look didn’t change you looked to Hunter, the sensible brother, for relief. Instead, he had his arms crossed and eyes fixed away from you.
They can’t be serious. You started to turn to Echo when Crosshair abruptly got up, setting his gun aside, and loomed over you within a second.
“Don’t look at Echo to save you,” Crosshair growled, his voice low and menacing. "You seem a little too cozy with them for just 'old friends.'" You tried to step away, but found yourself backed against the counter behind you.
“Cross,” Hunter warned, but his brother didn’t heed the caution, slamming a hand on the shelf a few inches from your face.
The close proximity allowed you to catch Crosshair's scent—gun oil and mint—a combination you'd never been so close to before. It left you breathless, barely able to formulate a response. Crosshair raked his eyes over you as he idly lolled a toothpick around his mouth. He leaned in close. “Why so shy now, Shorty?” he taunted, his voice dropping even lower.
Despite the shiver you felt at the nickname rolling off Crosshair’s tongue, ignored the jibe. “What’s your problem with ‘Shorty’?” you bit back, unwilling to back down.
Tech swiftly wedged himself between you and Crosshair, his tone firm but diplomatic. "Let's not act like children here." Placing a hand on your chest and the other on Crosshair's shoulder, he continued, "Although 'Shorty' might not be the most accurate nickname. If you prefer something else-"
His voice trailed off as he noticed the flush creeping up your chest and spreading to your cheeks and ears. Tech's wide eyes darted between your face and his hand, realizing the unintended intimacy of his touch. "Oh," he stammered, but didn’t pull back his hand. "I-I apologize."
Feeling the weight of their collective stares, you squirmed uncomfortably, yearning for some space to breathe. Tech's touch, coupled with Crosshair's taunting sent a flurry of conflicting emotions coursing through you, rendering you speechless. It seemed like every part of you was reacting, including that one lower part that seemed to have a mind of its own.
Before the tension could escalate further, Echo chimed in with an observation. "Well, I've never seen that before."
Returning to reality, you brushed Tech's hand away and swiftly grabbed your sleeping gear, attempting to regain your composure. "You're all acting like a bunch of-"
"It looks like our sarad is finally blossoming," Crosshair mocked, his voice laced with amusement.
Unable to take another word from him, you shoved past Tech to lunge on Crosshair, whose scowl was now a shit eating smirk. “I’ll wipe that smug-”
Hunter jumped in to hold you back. “Back off, Cross.” You were still grabbing for Crosshair when Hunter’s firm grip on your waist registered with you. You stiffened as Hunter detangled your arms from his shoulder and pulled you aside. He turned to you and surprised you by gently cupped your cheek. “Listen, we’re not trying to upset you.”
You were too aware of all the places your bodies had just touched - where his hands had been. It was all too much and with his hand on your face you simply couldn’t move.
The unexpected closeness and the warmth of his touch left you momentarily stunned, struggling to process the flood of sensations. With an effort to maintain your composure, you pulled away from Hunter's touch, grabbing your gear tightly. But before you could make your escape, Wrecker wrapped you in his arms and wrung you off your feet. “Aw, don’t be mad, we were just worried!” All you could focus on was the size of his hands and how nice his arms felt. When he dropped you, you just stood hunched over with a death grip on your sleeping pack.
The way you just stood at the mouth of the ship wide eyed and huffing, you probably looked like a deranged blurg. You felt deranged. In mere minutes you’d gone from composed to weak kneed simply from a few touches and teases. Being the center of their attention in those minutes had lit something in you that was quickly getting out of control. You still couldn’t manage words when you took off down the Marauder’s ramp.
At once Hunter, Wrecker, Crosshair, and Tech looked back at Echo. Echo echoed the collective astonishment, his tone tinged with bewilderment. "I've never seen her act like that before."
Tech, ever the analyzer, observed the physical signs of your distress with keen interest. He looked down at the hand he'd placed on your chest. "Her heart rate and temperature were elevated," he noted, his analytical nature kicking in. "Her coloring was..." He paused, searching for the right word, "...unexpectedly vibrant." Tech was quick to record his observations, whether mentally or digitally, finding your behavior to be a fascinating new discovery.
"Intriguing," Tech mused, adjusting his glasses with a confident shrug. "Her conduct with us doesn't align with her interactions with her former squadron. This divergence suggests a remarkably positive correlation." His conclusion was delivered with a note of excitement, indicative of his realization of the significance of your reaction. "And I am seldom wrong."
Each member of the Bad Batch absorbed Tech's assessment in their own way, contemplating the implications of your behavior.
When it was time to part ways with the 501st, you made your good-byes. The Batch weren’t much for good-byes, aside from Echo giving an extra farewell to Rex, they watched on from the mouth of the Marauder. You didn’t know when, or if, you’d see them again so you were saying good-bye to each clone.
Jesse sauntered over to the Batch as you engaged in one last round of roughhousing with Fives. He glanced at you, then at the Batch. An obvious jab that didn't fail to elicit a snarl from Crosshair. “Looks like she's clinging to her ‘regs’ a bit too tightly,” he remarked, his tone laced with thinly veiled mockery. Crosshair's lip curled in response, a silent warning brewing beneath his steely exterior. “Maybe it's time she remembers where she belongs.”
“Ay! Sarad!” Wrecker’s voice boomed out suddenly, your head immediately snapping to attention. “You comin’ or what?”
Tech, with a slight adjustment to his goggles, couldn't help but notice the telltale signs of your embarrassment—the faint flush creeping up your cheeks, the nervous smile that flickered across your lips. It was a sight that stirred something in his usually analytical mind. “Looks like she's right where she belongs,” he remarked softly, a rare hint of sentimentality in his tone.
Jesse let out a huff of resignation. “I suppose so. Just make sure you take care of her,” he muttered before slipping away.
As Wrecker slung his arm around your shoulders, nearly toppling you over, you hesitated for a moment. But instead of pulling away, you returned the gesture with a small hip bump, a silent olive branch. This is really going to take some getting used to.
Hunter, helmet tucked under his arm, stepped forward. “If you ever decide you want to go back to the 501st... we'd understand,” he offered, his tone tinged with sincerity.
You shook your head with a laugh, stepping out of Wrecker’s embrace. Playfully knocking an elbow into Hunter’s side, you grinned. “You think I’d trade you guys for the 501st? Not a chance,” you replied, your words carrying a hint of affection.
“Oh, spare us the sentimentality,” Crosshair interjected dryly, though the faint twitch of his lip betrayed a hint of amusement.
As you stood among the Batch, you laughed to yourself. This is going to be fun.

Me again! Please can I request some HC’s with the bad batch and how they react to reader (gn or female) accidentally crawling into the boys bunk at night 😂
Tumblr media
Accidental Sleeping Arrangements
All Bad Batch Boys X GN!Reader
Tumblr media
How the boys react to you accidentally crawling into their bunk at night.
warnings: Fluff, comfort, cuddles, some moody boys, gender neutral reader. Can be read as romantic or platonic.
Tumblr media
Echo 💤
The first time:
As you slid into his bunk accidentally that evening, he was thoroughly bewildered. He had jolted awake and sat upright, observing your exhausted form snuggling against him, eyelids heavy with fatigue.
With tactful gentleness, he roused you from your slumber, delicately shaking you to bring you back to awareness. "Hey, um, you're in my bunk, trooper."
Your eyes flickered open, adjusting to the dim light, and a muttered curse escaped your lips as you retreated, cheeks warming with embarrassment. "Sorry, Echo," you apologized, slipping out of his bunk. "I must be completely drained," you sheepishly confessed.
"It's alright. I just didn't want to startle you by waking up to my face," he commented. You glance at him with a furrow forming on your brow before you shook your head.
"I doubt I'd be bothered by that..." your words trailed off, potentially carrying unintended flirtation. Echo's eyes widened slightly, his hand instinctively moving to the back of his neck, a clear sign of slight shyness at your words.
"Anyway," you say abruptly, spinning on your heel. "Sorry about that."
Echo simply nodded, silently observing as you retreated to your own bunk, leaving him with a sudden chill in the air, now yearning for the warmth you briefly brought beside him.
The second time:
With a tired yawn, Echo wearily approaches his bunk a few nights later, only to halt in surprise at the sight of someone curled up inside. Upon closer inspection, he realises it's you again, presenting him with a slight dilemma.
Despite his weariness, Echo knows he needs rest, and while your bunk is an option, his own provides the perfect setup for his cybernetics, ensuring he's at his best for the next day's duties.
Letting out a small sigh, hoping you wouldn't mind, he settles on the edge of his bunk and gently wakes you. "Hey, you're in my bunk again," he murmurs softly.
You stir, meeting his gaze before cringing slightly. "Again? I'm so sorry," you begin to rise, but his hand on your shoulder stops you.
"You can stay, but I'd also like to get some sleep... if you, uh, catch my meaning," he hints with a faint smile, hoping you understand.
"Oh," you blush, considering for a moment. "Well, I hope you don't mind sharing."
"Not at all," he reassures, his tone gentle as you make space. He lies beside you, and before long, you drift back to sleep. Echo finds solace in the rhythm of your soft snores, gradually succumbing to sleep himself... though waking up to find you both cuddling is a surprise he hadn't anticipated, yet one he welcomes warmly.
Tumblr media
Hunter 💤
The first time:
When Hunter awoke to find you crawling into his bunk, confusion gripped him. Instantly alert, his hands tensed, ready to confront any potential intruder, but his apprehension melted away as he recognised you.
He lay there in silence, contemplating his next move.
While a part of him felt inclined to let you sleep, considering your recent exhaustion, he couldn't shake the concern of startling you upon awakening to find him beside you.
After ensuring you were deeply asleep, he carefully extricated himself from the occupied bunk, making sure not to disturb you.
Once free, he couldn't suppress a soft chuckle as he observed you, peacefully snuggled into his pillow, emitting gentle snores. “Sleep well.” He whispered to you before leaving you to rest.
He made a mental note to address the situation in the morning, but perhaps it’s better left unsaid since you’ll know your error when you woke up.
The second time:
As you woke up to find yourself in Hunter's bunk, mortification swept over you. Yet, when you encountered Hunter in the cockpit, he didn't mention a word about it, instead offering you a drink of caf.
A small part of you entertained the idea that perhaps he was unaware of the nighttime intrusion. However, your suspicions were confirmed a few nights later.
Fatigued and not paying attention to your surroundings, you headed towards what you thought was your bunk and climbed inside, only to be surprised by the presence of another person. "Hunter, what're you doing?" you blurt out, eyes widening in disbelief.
"I could ask you the same question," he chuckles, adjusting his position and turning to face you. "This is my bunk."
Blinking in realisation, you glance around, confirming his assertion. "Oh," you laugh sheepishly, "I thought this was mine."
His smile is gentle, his eyes gleaming faintly in the dim light. "You're more than welcome to stay," he offers casually, though he soon realizes the potential implications of his words. "If you want to, that is."
A part of you knows you should return to your own bunk, yet there's an inexplicable pull keeping you there. "Well, I'm all comfy now..." you hint with a small smile.
He nods, turning his gaze away and closing his eyes. "Me too. Sleep well."
It took you a moment to fall asleep but just like how Hunter didn’t tell you that you had slept in his bunk first initially, you won’t tell him how he pulls you into his body as he slept and held you close throughout the night. Not that you seemed to mind.
Tumblr media
Wrecker 💤
The first time:
"Wrecker, you scared me! What are you doing in my bunk?" you exclaimed, startled by the unexpected intrusion.
As you thought you were settling into your bunk for the night, using your hands to navigate through the darkness, you accidentally crawled onto something large and hard.
Assuming it was just your sheets bunched up, you attempted to smooth it out, only to be met with a small yelp that made your heart skip a beat.
"Huh?" Wrecker groggily emerged from his sleep cocoon, rubbing his eyes. "This is my bunk, isn't it?"
"No, I'm pretty sure it's mine," you asserted, but as Wrecker shifted in the bunk and reached under the blanket, he pulled out his beloved Lula.
"Oh. Maybe not then." You felt pretty embarrassed by your mistake, but Wrecker didn't seem to mind at all.
"It's alright, thought I was going to get an extra cuddle buddy for a second there!" he chuckled heartily, waving Lula in your face. His laughter filled the room, and you couldn't help but feel a warmth spread through you at the thought of being Wrecker's "cuddle buddy," though you weren't entirely sure if he was joking.
Deciding not to dwell on it further and eager to avoid keeping Wrecker awake any longer, you offered a meek apology before retreating to your actual bunk. As you settled in, you couldn't shake the image of Wrecker's playful grin from your mind.
The second time:
Wrecker stared down at his bunk, finding it already occupied with not much room left for him. You were snoozing away, oblivious to his dilemma. Wrecker knew he could be a bit of a grouch without his sleep, so he decided to gently prod you awake.
"Hey," he nudged you, rousing you from your slumber. "Is this you asking to be my cuddle buddy?"
You stirred awake, blinking in confusion as you glanced at him. It was then that you noticed Lula on the pillow next to your head. "Oh shoot, sorry Wrecker," you sighed groggily, just wanting to fall back asleep into the warmth of his bunk.
"It's alrigh’," he chuckled softly, his deep voice filling the room with warmth. "But uh... I kinda need to sleep."
"Then come cuddle next to me," the words slipped out before you realized what you were saying, but you didn't want to take them back either. The thought of Wrecker's warmth beside you was oddly comforting.
Wrecker was surprised for a moment, his eyes widening slightly, before a soft smile spread across his face. Without hesitation, he slung his armor off and crawled into the space beside you. "Are ya sure about this?"
"Mhm," you replied sleepily, your arms spreading over his chest as you nestled into him like a log warming a fire. "You're warm."
Wrecker smiled to himself, feeling a sense of contentment wash over him as he closed his eyes, feeling your steady breathing against his chest.
Tumblr media
Tech 💤
The first time:
Sleep was not a common occurrence for Tech, so when he made the rare decision to nestle down for the night, he wasn't too perturbed to find you asleep in his allocated spot.
He paused for a moment, considering whether to wake you, but recalling your exhausted state earlier, he reasoned that you wouldn't have intentionally taken his bunk.
Instead, he quietly observed the peaceful rise and fall of your chest, noting the serenity that graced your features, before silently retreating back to the cockpit where he remained awake for the night once again.
"Tech, why didn't you wake me? I feel terrible," you expressed your guilt that next morning upon discovering that you had accidentally slept in his bunk, leaving him to forego his own rest.
"That is not necessary. You were tired, and I can always keep my mind occupied with tasks or reading intel," he replied in his usual composed manner, peering at you over his datapad. "I shall assume this was a one-time occurrence, and my bunk shall be my own again tonight."
“Yes, of course," you nodded, your expression reflecting genuine concern as you offered another apology before preparing for the demanding day ahead. Despite Tech's assurances, the weight of your unintended intrusion lingered.
The second time:
It just so happened to be the next night that you found yourself once again interrupting Tech's sleep. Moving through the dark ship with heavy eyes and a yawn on your lips, it was no surprise that you once again miscounted where your bunk was and crawled into the wrong one.
Your head hit the pillow, and your eyes shut as the warmth of the bed enveloped you. However, despite the comfort, a small flickering light kept intruding upon your consciousness, prompting your eyes to flutter open. At first, you didn't register the source, but as you turned your head to the right, your eyes widened in realisation: Tech laying there on his datapad, as if nothing had happened.
"Tech, what... am I...?" you began, your voice trailing off as confusion clouded your thoughts.
"In the wrong bunk?" he interjected calmly, settling his datapad down and gazing down at you. His goggles rested atop his head, allowing you to see the brightness of his eyes in the dark. "That is correct."
You sit up, feeling a rush of embarrassment flood over you, and run your hand over your face in frustration. "I'm sorry. I don't know what's up with me.”
Tech raises a single brow, his expression softened with genuine concern. "Perhaps in the morning, I should run some tests if you will allow me?" he suggests softly, his voice carrying a hint of worry. "But for now, I suggest you get some sleep."
Nodding in agreement, you reluctantly pull the blanket off your body, preparing to retreat to your own bunk. However, before you can make your escape, Tech's hand gently rests on your shoulder, stopping you in your tracks.
"You are free to continue sleeping in my bunk tonight if you find it comfortable," he offers unexpectedly, his gesture of kindness catching you off guard.
"What, really?" you respond, turning to face him, searching his eyes for confirmation.
With a nod, Tech reclines back and retrieves his datapad. "Yes, really. I do not mind."
"But what if I keep you awake again?" you voice your concern.
"Do not worry about me," he reassures softly, a warm smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Now, get some rest before I give you a lecture about the benefits of getting sleep."
You chuckle softly at his remark before settling, finding comfort in his understanding demeanor. As you prepare to drift off into slumber, you can't help but feel thankful for Tech's compassion and generosity.
In the quiet of the night, you woke up only once, feeling Tech's arm drape gently across your body. Yet, instead of feeling unsettled, you found comfort in his presence.
Tumblr media
Crosshair 💤
The first time:
As you prepared to settle in for the night after a long day, exhaustion clouded your judgment, leading you to absentmindedly crawl into a bunk without much thought. However, your relaxation was short-lived as you were startled by a gravelly voice beside you.
"What are you doing?" The abrupt question made you jump, and you inadvertently knocked your head against the top of the bunk in surprise.
"What am I doing? What the kriff are you doing?" you retorted in annoyance, rubbing your sore head as Crosshair sat up beside you, his expression stern in the dim light.
"I'll think you'll find this is my bunk," he hissed, his sharp gaze piercing through the darkness. As you glanced across the room, you realised your mistake—the bunk you were in wasn't yours.
"Oh."
"Yes. Oh. Now get out before I drag you out," he threatened, though you could tell it was more playful than serious.
"Alright, alright, keep your hair on," you sighed as you obediently crawled out of his bunk, feeling the absence of warmth as you departed.
Crosshair grumbled under his breath and rolled back onto his side to sleep, while you mentally chided yourself for the blunder, making sure you never accidentally try to sleep in his bunk again.
The second time:
You're exhausted, your head throbbing with the relentless ache of sleep deprivation from the past few days, and you've reached the point where you don't care where you sleep anymore. And that includes Crosshair's bunk.
As you settle down on the edge of his bunk, the closest one available, you feel the weight of his gaze on your back, following your movements as you swing your legs around and lay down. "What are you doing?" his voice cuts through the silence, tinged with irritation.
You don't reply, simply closing your eyes as you allow the fatigue to wash over you, hoping for a moment's respite.
"This is my bunk," he asserts firmly, his agitation evident, but as you remain silent, his annoyance shifts to confusion.
"Are you... alright?" he inquires, concern creeping into his voice.
You shake your head softly, and you hear him sigh, but he doesn't press you further. Nor does he demand that you leave.
As sleep begins to claim you, Crosshair remains awake for a while, his thoughts swirling. In his mind, he tells himself that this is a one-time occurrence.
Yet, if you're upset and in need of somewhere to rest for a while, he doesn't mind if you sleep next to him again. After all, it turns out to be the best sleep he's had in a while too.

How would TBB react to seeing the reader about to leave on a night out dressed up in a super hot outfit?
Gender-neutral reader, but feminine presenting. Words like 'beautiful' and 'pretty' are used!
Tumblr media
Hunter - Even with half of his face tattooed, he still manages to blush through the thickness of the ink. - He's truly lost for words. - Hunter has an adorable stutter as he compliments, "wow, you look… nice- I mean, incredible. Good. Beautiful?" - Hunter then facepalms as he scolds himself for picking "nice" as his first compliment. Ugh, you look so much more than nice! - You'll both be giggling as Hunter takes a deep breath, and begins going into detail about how good you look, highlighting the specific parts that really stand out to him. - You're heading out with friends, but Hunter is quietly hinting that he wants to come along. Totally not because he's jealous or anything, but because he hopes to meet your friends, right? The friends that he's met several times before? Yeah! - Tell him that you'll still be looking this good when you come back home later tonight, and he'll get the hint. - However, he may need to leave a fresh mark or two on your neck, just to get the point across that you're taken.
Echo - This poor, poor man is going to turn the deepest shade of red when he finally sees you. - Why, just WHY did you have to wear that specific outfit that he loves so much?! And you're going out without him too?! Oh, what a tease! - Echo is lost for words as he gushes over you. He feels like it's his wedding day - How is he this lucky? How did he land an angel like you? - There's a tear in his eye as you smother him in kisses, reassuring him that you're all his, that you're the lucky one for being with him, that you can't wait to come home and snuggle up with him later. - Echo doesn't ask for much, but he would like to be kept in the loop on your whereabouts. Purely for your own safety! - "And when you reach the next bar, just comm me. Your friends have my comm number too, don't they? If anything goes wrong, and you want picking up-" blahblahblah. - One final smother in reassuring kisses, and you're good to hit the town!
Wrecker - His mouth instantly hangs open, his eyes turn wide, and his facial expression swiftly turns into a grin as he comments, "HOT!!" - You know in cartoons where the character's mouth drops open, and they begin howling and barking? Yeah, that's Wrecker. - Seriously, you look hot, and Wrecker's going to ensure that you know it. - "Look at you! I can't believe I got myself an angel as sweet as you!" - He'll mention how he's sad that he's not tagging along, but he'll assure you that it's important you spend your time with your friends. - Wrecker isn't as clingy as he seems. After all, he'll be right here, waiting for your return. - And when you do return, all your hangover needs will be met. A tall glass of water waiting for you, a midnight snack, breakfast in bed, and a big buff man to cuddle you back to health!
Tech - This will go one of two ways: - Option one: Tech eyes you up and down, and with a firm nod, he comments, "that is suitable attire for your evening. I hope you enjoy yourself." - Option two: Tech's brain short circuits. He can barely muster up a thought, let alone a comment. Radio silence, but his expression says it all. - Either way, Tech is more than impressed with your outfit choice, and how stunning you look. He just… struggles to find the words, like a deer in the headlights. - Give him a few moments, and you'll be met with suitable praise. "How exquisite you look, a truly elegant and radiant creature." - Tech can't pinpoint one specific word to describe how beautiful you look, so instead, he selects the most complex and in-depth ones. He doesn't want to rely on a 'standard compliment.' - A few kisses later, and you're off to meet your friends. All the while, Tech begins pacing around the Marauder like a lost puppy. He needs to keep himself occupied until you return!
Crosshair - He's instantly thirsty for you, smiling cheekily as he eyes you up, gawking at the sight of you. - Crosshair has a way with words, and spews out his praise, all whilst kneading at your waist, his hands trailing down to grab your ass whilst he steals a handful of kisses from you. - And then it dawns on him… - You're going out with your friends tonight, not him… - Jealousy swiftly takes over, and his compliment turn into teasing (yet petty) jabs. Nothing to hurt your feelings, though. - "Any reason why you're wearing this tonight? Do you need more attention? Am I not enough for you?" - Whilst his tone is teasing, there's a desperate need for validation. - Yes, he knows you'd never be stupid and hurt him, but… can you please remind him one more time? - Don't be surprised when you leave, and minutes later, Crosshair sends you a holotext. "Comm me if you need anything, Beautiful."

blood stains
hunter x gn reader summary: hunter finds you with an injury you tried to hide from the squad, but you’re struggling to open up despite your feelings for him. warnings: none .. this is a pretty short read a/n: and i am once again reminded why hunter bad batch is my favorite clone to write about 🧟‍♀️
Tumblr media
The Marauder is silent other than Wrecker’s thunderous snoring that you’ve learned to tune out whenever the night reaches this dead hour. Right now is the only time there’s no movement flashing back and forth from the cockpit to the gunner’s seat. No orders falling from the many voices you hear more than your own self these days. No bickering, either.
“Fuck,” you hiss under your breath as you peel part of your shirt away from your skin. A warm and sticky ache begins to throb harder under your wound, which is now messily clotted from the hours that passed since the mission from today. It’s all just another part of your life, especially with this squad at the center of your commitments. Skin doesn’t take much to break, but you’re a different story. No amount of blood spilled to your feet or streaked across your hands as you try to stitch yourself back together can stop you from turning away. This place—these people—are your family. Some more than others, though.
“You’re bleeding all over my ship.”
His voice cuts through the quiet, raising hairs on the back of your neck. He was just sleeping, too, or at least pretending. You keep your eyes on your stomach, catching the captain’s seat turn toward you in your peripheral. A small smile crosses your lips without meaning to, but this is soon replaced by a sharp wince that both of you hear. The sting goes numb like your words when you reply, “Then I guess you’ll have no problem cleaning up. Since she’s all yours.”
You hear some rustling over his low chuckle as he makes his way toward you, slow enough to tease your quickening heartbeat. It isn’t until he reaches for you with the intention of turning you to face him that you flinch away and say, “Hunter, I’m fine.”
His hand drops to his side, and the collision sounds disappointed despite its normalcy. You finally look up at him, frowning when you see the gaunt shadows framing his face. He refuses sleep like abstinence these days, and it shows. It also hurts, though you can’t bring yourself to admit why.
“You always look at me like that,” he sighs sarcastically while sliding into the seat in front of you.
Suddenly, he’s taking the alcohol from your hands and pulling your body between his spread legs. You stand over him with a hot flush creeping up your neck, bracing yourself for another sting as he cleans the overdramatic gash that looks worse than it feels. Really.
“Maybe I’m just unhappy to see you,” you manage to get out through a pained gasp.
“Uh-huh,” he smiles up at you when your hand finds his shoulder and squeezes, “Almost done.”
“You’re overdoing it.”
“You can handle it.”
Your eyes flutter open just in time for you to see the look on his face as he says this. It’s not exactly like the typical solemnity he carries throughout the day, among all the other responsibilities that weigh heavily on his relentless spirit. But it’s familiarly stern, nothing that you wouldn’t expect from someone like him. Someone as confident, that is. You don’t even notice that he’s begun stitching your wound shut, too busy catching your own breath. The thin needle going in and out of your skin barely registers at this point in the process.
“Still hurts?”
Taking your hand off his shoulder, you reply, “No.”
“Good.”
You flick your gaze between his face and lap before nudging his bouncing knee with yours. He hardly reacts to this, only going completely still as the two of you fall silent. This lack of conversation is nothing new, but it makes you increasingly aware of your own state of being. Unsure what to do with your hands, you fold them over your chest. But that doesn’t feel comfortable—and his rough fingers skimming across your bare skin isn’t helping with any sort of thought process—so you drop your hands back down to your sides.
If he notices your restless decision making, he doesn’t point it out. Maybe he would if it was daytime, and his brothers were listening. Maybe he would if he was in the mood to fall into another unnecessary argument. Or maybe, he’s too far gone in his own thoughts that he doesn’t even realize you’re fighting a war in your mind every day you spend with him. You can’t afford to feel anything more than you already do. Neither can he. And yet…
“You’re lucky this isn’t infected,” he eventually speaks up in a hushed tone so the others don’t wake.
You roll your eyes, and your neck follows this movement in a slow stretch. “Don’t play doctor with me.”
“Don’t wait until now to do something about this,” he retorts. The natural authority in his tone comes crawling back at this demand, one that you ignore to preserve your own pride.
You shrug, surprising yourself with your words that tumble out like the wild waters back on Kamino. “Got your attention, though.”
A smirk tugs at his lips as he glances up at you.
“If that’s what you wanted,” he says, “You could’ve just asked.”
You raise your eyebrows skeptically, unsure if he’s simply pulling your strings. He has more power over you than you prefer to show, but he’s also not an idiot. Hardly anything gets past him, hence the reason why he’s sitting before you with a threaded needle and a death grip on your body. The knot in your stomach seems to unravel as his eyes search yours, so dark and brown that you almost mistake them for the night sky.
“Save it,” you sigh and rub your eyes, “Humor me in the morning.”
“You think I’m joking.”
“I think you’re full of shit.”
The breath he releases sounds like a laugh as he shakes his head and peers at your wound closer, almost done with the stitches. Even while you feel like shit, you can’t stop yourself from biting back at the warmth that keeps trying to invade your priorities.
“Yeah?” He keeps his eyes on your stomach and tilts his head to the side, “I think you’re just scared.”
Your chest seizes uncomfortably. “Where is this coming from?”
The question falls between the cracks of your curiosity since he doesn’t respond, shifting his focus on wrapping your waist with what you believe is the last of your available bandages. You don’t point this out, though, because you know he’ll just add that to his list of the many things he plans on taking care of alone instead of asking for help. How can he of all people expect vulnerability from you? You’ve already accepted this—whatever this even is—will end up as a lost cause. But standing above him as his hands travel near places you shouldn’t dare to think about, especially when he’s looking up at you with stars dancing in his pupils, feels much better than running away.
You snap out of your circling thoughts when Hunter tugs your shirt down and leans back in his seat. His fingers are slightly stained with your blood, outstretched from his palm to avoid making more of a mess. Yours, however, are relatively clean from his favor of taking over the moment. A wordless stare passes between the two of you before you carefully run your hand through his hair, and it’s too soft for you to regret this move. It’s also a little heavy—wilder than usual without the bandana keeping it under control. He closes his eyes at your touch. Leans in just a bit. You step forward with your other hand cupping the side of his face, tilting upward by the jaw so he can look at you. But he doesn’t. He almost seems at peace for once.
You don’t want to ruin that. Just like you don’t want to ruin anything—with him, but also between the rest of this squad. Sliding your hand from out of his hair, you startle when he catches it with his own and tangles your fingers together. No snide remark or irritated comment comes to mind from either of you. Your thoughts are especially blank as he peers up at you, daring you to pull away. When you don’t, he brings your hand to his lips for a brief second that leaves you dizzy and breathless. It doesn’t feel like a kiss when it reads so much like a sentence you’ll never say to each other.
“You’re welcome,” he quips softly before letting your arms fall back to your sides. And then he’s standing so abruptly that you fail to answer, even though his movements appear calm and collected as always. Your head turns to follow his steps, looking straight into his backside with an impatient desperation telling you to reach for him again.
“Good night,” you only offer weakly in return, rubbing your fingers together to feel the blood from his touch. Your blood.
The darkness hides his smile when he glances at you over his shoulder. You can only see the silhouette of his figure, from the plane of his shoulders to the curve of his nose. And then there’s that gleam in his eye—the one you recognize as trouble. So much trouble.
“Good night.”

Hi! I read your Star Wars and Arcane headcanons and I loved them, congratulations on the amazing writing! I look forward to reading more of your works.
I'd also like to request a Bad Batch x reader headcanons/fic/blurb, you choose it. I had this idea that since they don't have a good relationship with regs, it'd be hard for them to receive appropriate medical care from clone medics, because of that a medic!reader would be assigned to assist them on their missions. In the beginning they'd be skeptical, but slowly they would warm up to the reader and secretly each of them would start to fall in love with their medic. How would they proceed? Would they be willing to share?
If any of this makes you uncomfortable or you don't write for these themes I understand and please feel free to ignore this, thank you in advance! <3
(Also English is not my first language, if there are mistakes or it's confusing I apologize, thanks again ;))
oh my goodness, first request on this acc!! tysm, this is such a cute concept!!! :D
wc: 1.7 k
reluctant bad batch x medic!reader
characters: Crosshair, Echo, Tech, Wrecker, Hunter
You’ve worked with some… difficult patients before, so when you were assigned to specifically join a force of specialized clones, you figured you knew what you were getting into.
Boy, were you wrong.
Not only were these men difficult, but there was something off about them; at first you thought it was your imagination, but as time passed, you wondered if maybe there really was something there—but what?
Wrecker started off as your favorite. His wariness wore off within two hours of meeting you; you laughed at one of his jokes, and it was then that he knew he was going to like you. And he told you so, even though you’d assume the opposite when you were treating him.
Despite his tough, brutish appearance, Wrecker was a bit of a whiner when it came to wound care. He’d hiss at the cold packs, flinch away when you tried to disinfect anything.
“Why can’t you just put me in the bacta tank?” he asked you one day, cursing and gritting his teeth while you pulled debris out of a nasty scrape.
“Because we don’t have a bacta tank,” you said with a gentle smile. “I’m sorry, I know this sucks.” You grabbed his hand and gave it a quick squeeze before returning to work.
He glanced at you through squinting eyes, and for a moment his face relaxed. He couldn’t watch you work—it’d freak him out too much—so he fixed his gaze on your face. You had been too focused to notice, but you did notice that suddenly he stopped twitching. He even seemed relaxed.
If you had looked up, you would’ve seen the faint smile on his face. It was less than his usual grin, the one he gave you whenever you finished patching him up. It was something softer, something stemming from somewhere deep within him.
He might’ve been your favorite, but you were certainly his favorite. Always laughing with him, amusing him when he wanted to show you something… you were almost kinder to him than his brothers were. What wasn’t there to love?
“All done,” you said, and he switched to his broader grin just in time. He threw a large arm around you, pulling you close enough that he could feel your heartbeat against his side.
“Thanks, Y/n! You’re good to me,” he chuckled, looking at you with a little too much fondness. You grinned, then both of you blushed and looked away.
“No problem,” you replied, clearing your throat.
Echo was another interesting one. An ex-reg, now half machine, half man. Sometimes you didn’t know what to do with him; you were trained in medicine, not mechanics.
But he was patient, and mostly self-sufficient besides. He’d answer any questions you had when you (attempted to) treat him.
You always noticed that he seemed… fragile, somehow. Make no mistake, he was probably the toughest guy in the troop, considering what he’d been through. But whenever it was just the two of you, sitting in silence, you could sense that there was something deep within him that he tried valiantly to protect—something soft.
You never pried. Instead you’d make casual conversation, even joke around with him. You weren’t sure what else to do, but it seemed to work with him.
Little did you know that he was fully aware that you had him figured out. But you didn’t treat him like a sob-story; that was what really got him.
If anything, you were the mystery. He was curious about you; he’d try to ask questions while you worked, but he didn’t want to make anything obvious.
Make what obvious? he asked himself one night. What was there that he was trying to hide from you? Certainly not his past; you already knew about that. What more could there be?
At first, he didn’t want to say anything. Or do anything. Why would he? He valued your friendship above everything. But after a while—specifically after he was reminded time and time again that life doesn’t last forever—he decided he might try something.
That something turned into several things; small, but hopefully you’d get the point. Grabbing your hand to lead you somewhere, whispering in your ear, praising you.
He feared he wasn’t being obvious enough, but you already knew from the moment he even wondered if he liked you. You always had him figured out.
Crosshair was, by far, your worst patient. He wasn’t a fighter—well, he wasn’t a fighter once you actually convinced him to sit down and let you treat him. Even when he was on the ground, unable to move, he’d curse and tell you to get away as you approached.
All that fire dimmed into red hot embers when you were close to him. He’d never look you in the eye. Occasionally he’d glance at what you were doing, making a snide comment about how he could probably do it better.
“Maybe,” you responded one day, “but then why would I be here?”
He just scoffed, but that did get him thinking. The thought of you gone somehow didn’t seem right. Had he gotten used to you being here? That couldn’t be it; every time he saw you, there was a distinct frustration stirring in his chest.
That frustration would spike whenever he saw you. The mere sight of your face would make him roll his eyes and scoff.
Whenever you weren’t looking, he’d stare at you. Half of the time it was because he wanted you to notice and get uncomfortable. But as he developed this habit, he found himself memorizing your features. The curve of your nose, the exact hue of your skin. The way you smiled and laughed.
Why didn’t you smile at him like that? The answer was obvious, but not to him. Eventually he developed a kind of jealousy, a desire to be noticed by you in a way that wasn’t entirely negative.
But he’d never actually put in the work to do that. His version of showing his newfound affection is continuing his snide comments, but with some odd twists.
“Wrap it up already, mesh’la-troan.”
Compliments, and always in Mando’a. You’d ask the others what they meant, and they’d just look at each other with a little grin.
“Crosshair said that?”
Tech was actually the most welcoming; or at least he claimed to be. When he heard you’d be joining the team, he was supportive.
“Having a designated medic is advisable for any operative group,” he had told his brothers.
But whenever you’d try to treat him, he’d backseat-doctor the entire time. You could tell that, internally, he was still getting used to not having to act as the medic anymore.
For that reason he was also a very difficult patient. You once caught him trying to put a dislocated knee back in place by himself, and he insisted that he “knew how” when you tried to intervene.
“I know that you know, but just let me help you!” you pleaded, pulling his hands off his leg.
He just sighed, gritting his teeth and letting you do your thing. Through all the pain, your words repeated in his head. He reflected that you never talked down to him while he tried to tell you how to do your job; but you never really did what he said, either.
You were aware of his knowledge, and you acknowledged it. But you knew what you were doing, too. As difficult as it was, he realized that he’d just have to trust you.
He tried talking about other things when you’d treat him. You were a good listener, though you may also have been considered a captive listener.
Sometimes you’d reference the things he said to you offhandedly. When you returned to a particular planet, you’d spout off a few facts that he’d told you before.
He found himself telling you more and more, trying to see what you’d remember. Or perhaps it was just the feeling that you were actually listening to what he was saying and keeping it in your head.
Once, while he was ranting to you, he let it slip.
“The population of one of the planet’s moons is considered to be the most attractive in the galaxy, though I’d argue that you hold that title.”
You had stopped moving, looking up at him with wide eyes. He glanced away, clearing his throat and continuing his rant with bright pink cheeks. You just smiled to yourself, giving his arm a subtle squeeze.
Hunter was a little intimidating sometimes; as the sergeant of the group, he had a certain air of authority about him, which did nothing for your confidence. That, and the fact that he was deadly silent around you.
You knew that he had something to say whenever you’d treat him, but he wouldn’t be saying it to you.
You would overhear him once in a while talking to his brothers about you, though. Mostly neutral or even positive comments—genuine or not, you weren’t sure. Maybe he was just trying to get the others to come around. At least at first.
It took a long time for him to warm up to you. Perhaps it was seeing how his brothers opened up to you, or perhaps it was the way you never gave up on him, but at last he came around.
You always talked to him while treating him, but never expected him to reply. Mostly you were just explaining whatever you were doing to him. He never seemed to care, and would just nod and let you do your thing.
Eventually you noticed a change. It was subtle, but it was there. He’d sit closer to you on the cot. He’d actually reply verbally when you tried to talk to him. And all that praise that he’d use to warm up his brothers, he actually said to your face.
“Thanks. You do good work.” Then he smiled.
He’d pat your shoulder or your head next. Then he’d actually start calling for you when he needed you, or when his brothers did.
“There you are. We need you.”
You blinked at him, hands freezing on your kit. He nodded at you with a grave face, reaching out to you. You smiled, stepping closer and opening your kit. His hand rested on the small of your back for a moment before he stepped away, letting you get to work.
His words rang in your head; they were genuine, not just him trying to get his brothers to like you.
Privately, they were all thinking the same thing. They did need you; you were a fantastic medic, sure, but you were something more to them. You represented safety. You were what they fell back on after a harsh beating, physically or mentally.
Because at the end of the day, they knew they’d be returning to you, and that you’d be waiting with open arms and a smile that made their hearts hitch.
