I keep on seeing these edits of Steve Harrington with that song, idk it's name but is like 'I just meet my dad in 1985' or smth like that and now I lowkey want a fic where this dude's kid somehow time travels and actually meets his dad in 1985. At this point I don't even care about the ship, I just want some random kid to show up one day, look at Steve and be like 'Fuck. Dad???'
Just imagine the comedy. But also the drama if it's either Nancy's kid or if Eddie's their other father- cuz I think by 1985 Nancy and Steve broke up already??? And she's dating Jonathan??? Gold. And they didn't even got to interact with Eddie yet so everyone is gonna be like 'Eddie??? The Munson kid???'
#even funnier if the kid is going around the town with the Party and at some point sees Eddie and comments like 'Damm. Father's hair has#always been that long???' and everyone is loosing their shit#i just need this little kid to mind blow everyone#bonus points if the kid knows a little bit about the Upside Down. not enough to like change some events/prevent most of the shit from#happening. just enough to make comments about it#like the whole mall things happens and they are like 'Huh. So that's what father (Eddie)/mom meant when she said dad got a bad experience#with the Russians'#or they just found Eddie and the kid is all like 'Ahhh. Now I see why you guys wouldn't tell me how you meet'. Stuff like that#also the kid calling everyone either aunt or uncle and Steve's heart is literally melting because that means everyone stays in his life for#good and that right therr is really his family#EVEN FUNNIER IF THE KID IS NOT AN ONLY CHILD and they are all like 'oh yeah I have five other siblings'#I think that's when Steve actually starts crying because it sounds too good to be true#stranger things#stranger things steve#steddie#stranger things steddie#or stancy I guess??? however you wanna play it man#i'm a multishiper first and whatever society expects of me later#is it the ship name stancy tho???? idk#even fucking funnier if the kid's other parent is straight up Jonathan#the kid is either having Will's personality or Erica's i don't get criticisms.#keep in mind that I didn't/don't watch stranger things so idk what's going on most of the time

A Haunted Doll's new kid
“A Damian and he's haunted doll”
Instead of Jason having Danny as his childhood doll or haunted doll, how about if Damian got haunted doll Danny?
--------------------------------------------
Where a young Talia Al Ghul stumbled across a very old and abandoned mansion in a middle of nowhere, only tall dark trees and harsh winds accompany her outside of the manor, at her vulnerable worse moments, her team was ambushed by a very cunning new group..took a lot of damaged out of her but she survived and now left wandering on her own, without anyway to contact the league or if she will faced punishment for being defeated, she decided to seek shelter inside the lifeless Manor for the time being, but to her surprise inside the manor it was warm as if no sign of abandonment as if it was alive, only one there was a beautiful baby doll.. something those rich young daughters would play at those times she heard from rich society of children..
Only Alive entity keeping her warm and welcome, so she decided to bring it to the League and no matter how childish this action was..she really can't stop letting go until she give it to her son in his 12 birthday, hoping him to take care of the Precious doll as if a heirloom, which it is😅
-----------------------------------------------
Damian knew what this Doll was, it was his mother's doll. A doll so clean and beautiful, he never understand why there was a doll back then at the league.
It was his first everytime to even see a doll up closed than reading and imagining it at textbooks and examples of words in his former lessons, the Doll was strange.
Unlike The doll, it felt alive, warm and cozy like a child would be clingy to it's parent
He could feel waves of emotions he could distinct knowing the Doll's feelings..
No matter how much time passed after his mother gave it to him, he knows understands why he's mother would take care of this Doll.
No matter how much his family freak out at the constant, chairs spinning too see the baby doll sitting in it, finding in other places standing, moving heads, and little joyful laughter's. (Except for Alfred cause he already accepted the doll,)
------------------------------------
Danny was absolutely not amused, after a whole prank war with the fam, Ellie and the others decided to trap him in this stupid girly baby doll, with a brand label with his name💀 and decided to drop him off to a abandoned version of Vlad's house just for funzies if a few mortals ever get scared, but it kinda backfired now he's been getting good care through this girl now turn woman then her son is now taking care of him, he is grateful he isn't some kind of heirloom..right? But it was fun haunting this so called bats, even sending Grey hairs to his new profound kid caretaker,
----------------------------------------
Danny appearance as a doll is a female baby doll, that is plump and porcelain, he also has a voice box for the original dolls lines, but he sometimes make some unholy and demonic noises to scare one of the bats except for Alfred or Damian, the doll that he was inside in had Caucasian skin, dark hair and deep blue eyes that look like had stars twinkling in it which he approved, his dress was a plump white dress that had green designs in it that was glowing, a small beautiful beach hat and a cute glowing green heels? Shoes ya that's the description and some cute accessories like a golden bracelet which had unique jewels like emerald, ruby, and etc,
when talia found him, the Girls, Ellie had created a very doll like luggage with his necessities, clothes, things for dolls..which he considers are now his own belongings after being used to the routine in the league and how he accept this as a vacay cause he knows CW is watching him😅

"I can't believe you're making me do this." Sirius huffed, frustratedly attempting to tie his tie.
"I don't want to go just as much as you don't!" You grumbled, wandering over to him and helping him with his tie.
"I have a solution," He smirked, "We could just... not go?"
You rolled your eyes, he had been complaining all day and you were done with repeating yourself.
"We don't have a choice, Siri."
It was the night of the annual Pureblood Ball and now that you and Sirius were engaged, your attendance was mandatory.
This year, the ball was at the Black Manor. The Blacks had been almost shunned from the society due to Sirius' behaviour but have now been welcomed back with open arms.
Sirius' parents were over the moon when they found out about your relationship. After years of Sirius refusing to accept his label as a pureblood, his engagement to you surprised everyone.
Your parents weren't so excited. There was constant gossip of the Black family after Sirius ran away and as you were highly considered the 'pureblood princess' to those in the pureblood society, they thought you could do much better.
Sirius didn't help himself when attending big events like this. You had to beg him to come and when he finally agreed, he just moped the whole evening.
"Why don't we just run away?" Sirius mumbled, pulling you in to his chest and kissing the top of your head.
"We can't." You mumbled back. As much as you did want to run away with Sirius forever, you just couldn't. Your presence was too demanded, if you ran away with Sirius they'd have his head on a stick within a week.
"At least you look gorgeous." Sirius poked at you.
That was one of the only thing you enjoyed about these gatherings, you could both dress up.
When you were much younger, these parties excited you too much. With rose tinted glasses on as a little girl the idea of wearing a pretty dress and have everyone fawning over you was a dream.
You could sense Sirius' anxiety upon arrival and as much as you tried to comfort him, he just quickly shut you down.
"Siri, you'll be fine. We just have to show our faces for a bit then we can go home." You reached for his hand.
"I am fine." Sirius grunted. "I just don't want to be here."
He avoided eye contact with you as you walked through the giant doors towards the dimly lit ball room.
You'd think that this would be any girls dream and perhaps if you ignored the details it might be. However knowing that almost everyones ideologies in that room were what many considered evil spoilt the whole thing.
Everyone was dressed in dark colours, your deep red dress complimenting the room. The most infamous names in the pureblood society were here tonight, so you knew you had to put on your best act.
"Sirius," Narcissa greeted sternly as her and her sister Bellatrix approach the two of you "Y/N."
Sirius' jaw tightened as he kept his words to himself.
"Narcissa, Bellatrix. Lovely to see the both of you." You faked a small smile.
"Congratulations on your engagement," Bellatrix sneered. "How you managed it I will never know, Y/N."
"I'm not quite sure what you mean."
"Well, our dear Sirius would have danced on all of our graves just a few months ago, including yours." Bellatrix smirked. "You must tell me the details of the charm or potion you used to make him like this."
"Oh piss off, Bellatrix." Sirius barked.
"Oops, looks like it's wearing off." Bellatrix laughed before the two of them strutted off.
"Great start." You mumbled.
"Can we just leave, Y/N." Sirius groaned.
"Just a little longer, Siri." You squeezed his hand as you moved forward within the party, before spotting both your parents approaching you.
"Y/N, darling." Your mother ushered you over. "Come join us."
"Orion," You smiled gently "Walburga, lovely to see you both again."
You had known Sirius' parents since you were born. Funny how differently women and men were treated in this odd society.
You were treat like a delicate flower and on the other hand Sirius was raised with high expectations of being this big strong man. Now somehow you were the one being praised for bringing him back into this toxic environment.
Sirius stayed silent, not bothering to utter a word to your parents nor his own.
"Oh, darling Y/N, how stunning you look." Walburga gushed. "You will be such a stunning bride."
"Indeed," Orion spoke sternly. "It will be a pleasure for the pureblood princess to be part of the Black family."
"It will be my pleasure." You blushed.
Sirius let go of your hand, walking away from the group without a word.
"He's um-" You mumbled becoming flustered. "He's still getting used to being back here."
"Don't worry darling," Walburga reassured you. "We couldn't manage him so we can hardly expect you to."
You gave a fake smile and after a while of conversing with you soon to be in-laws, you left to get a drink.
Your eyes wandered around the room as you waited for your drink at the bar, Sirius nowhere to be seen.
You couldn't blame him, it wasn't exactly the best place for him to be but you didn't expect him to abandon you within the first 10 minutes.
"If it isn't the pureblood princess," A voice was heard from behind you. "Where's your retched fiance?"
It was Evan Rosier. He had been on your case for years and after many, many proposal refusals he still couldn't give up.
"Why would I tell you." You muttered.
"Ah, he's left already? I'm not so surprised. He's always been a runner." He came closer to you, not leaving eye contact. "I would never abandon you, princess."
"He hasn't abandoned me." You snapped. "Can't you take no for an answer? I'm engaged."
"You think I believe that? What business does Sirius Black have with you? He hates all of us, including your family."
"Shut up."
"Can't handle the truth?" He reached over to grab your chin, forcing you to look at him. Not wanting to cause a scene, you let him. "Princess, I would give you the respect you deserve and you know it."
"Leave me alone."
He chuckled, leaning in closer.
"Make me." His face was inches from yours as you froze inside yourself.
Before you knew it, he was being pushed against the bar, glasses smashing everywhere.
"Keep your hands off of her you filthy rat." Sirius barked.
"Your puppies come off his leash, Princess." Evan smirked.
Sirius shoved him harder, ready to hit him.
"Sirius, don't" You grabbed ahold of his arm as the room went silent. "Don't do this."
"Yeah, or what?" He grunted.
You pulled on his arm harder and he turned to look at you, his features softening as you caught his eye.
"Lets just go, Siri, please."
He pushed Evan to the floor before storming out of the front doors.
You rushed after him, ignoring the muttering of gossip as you did so.
"Fuck!" You heard him shout out of frustration now that he was away from everyone.
He was sat on one of the stone steps with a cigarette in his hand and you sat yourself next to him.
"What was all that about?" You mumbled.
"Are you fucking kidding?" Sirius grunted. "He was all over you."
"I can handle myself."
"Doesn't bloody look like it." He bit.
"Well, I can." You bit back. "You know how many years I've had to deal with men like that?"
He was silent for a moment.
"I'm sorry I just- I can't stand being around all those people again."
"All those people? Siri, they're your family."
"Yeah well they're all pricks." He muttered. "And you- why are you pretending like becoming a Black is such an honour? My family is filled with lines and lines of horrible people and you know it."
"I know. You know I have to say these things." You responded. "But I do feel honoured."
"How could you possibly feel honoured."
"Because I get to marry you."
He turned to hide is blushed cheeks before turning back to you.
"I love you, Y/N."

"Even worse when you make me cry"

10 Things I Hate About You ← mini-series masterlist
"I hate it when you make me laugh," ← previous part
₊˚⊹♡₊˚⊹♡₊˚⊹♡₊˚⊹♡₊˚⊹♡₊˚⊹♡₊˚⊹♡₊˚⊹♡₊˚⊹♡₊˚⊹♡₊˚⊹♡₊˚⊹♡ ₊˚⊹
You and Miguel ended up going out to eat together for lunch. It was there he explained why Justine acted the way she did.
In her universe, Justine told her best friend that she was Spiderwoman. Her best friend went ahead and told media networks for money. The police found out and her dad came home furious. He was about to get promoted to chief of police and now that was ruined because he was getting fired.
He exploded on her and she ended up jumping into the portal when Miguel tried to leave after defeating an anomaly. He was originally just going to take her back to the go-home machine seeing that the Spider Society had no use for her.
She begged him to stay just until her dad calmed down. And her whole universe calmed down. Everyone in her universe hated her, she felt like everyone was against her. The way she acted was only because all she had known for the past week was hate and sadness. She trusted Miguel because he was the first person to treat her like a human since the news got out.
Miguel assumed that she clung to him for that reason alone. "Well thanks for making me feel like a bitch for hating her," you sighed.
"How could you have known," he chuckled.
"So what happened last night?" you asked.
"Well she tried to go back to her universe that night and came back hysterical because she got arrested the second her dad found her in her room," he explained.
"You're saying that like it's the most casual thing ever," you chuckled.
"Well, when you deal with this many Spider-people nothing surprises you. But she needed a pick-me-up and kept asking me to stay. It was kind of hard to say no," he said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"No," you said simply.
"Okay c'mon, you didn’t have a crying kid in front of you," he said.
"Her grown ass is like 24 at most," you replied.
"She was crying, what was I supposed to do? Leave her?" he asked.
"You have therapists at the Spider Society for a reason. Miguel, she's a grown woman acting like a child," you complained.
"I could say the same about you right now," he replied under his breath.
That was enough to make you go silent. You ate in silence for a while. "Look I'm sorry about that, and for lying to you, I should have just told you the truth right away," he apologized.
"Th-" you started before being cut off by ringing on his gizmo. He got up and picked up the phone. Of course, he's answering work calls on a date, you thought to yourself.
"Hey, there's an emergency at HQ I need to take care of," he said as he got his coat from the chair.
"I thought you said you took the day off," you replied.
"I did but there's an emergency I need to take care of this quick emergency,"
"What kind of emergency? A Justine emergency?" you asked. His silence followed.
"Meet me at our favorite place for dinner, I'll make it up to you," he said, giving you a quick kiss on the forehead before rushing away.
. . .
You sat at your and Miguel's favorite place to go out for dinner. A quaint little family-owned Italian restaurant. It was close to closing time. He called you apologizing saying that there was another emergency. The cannon had been broken in Justine's universe and he had to try and fix it. "Are you going to choose her over me again?" you sobbed outside.
"I'm not choosing her, I just- I don't know can we talk later?" he asked hopefully. You hung up. The owner's wife Donna offered to sit with you after you figured Miguel wouldn't show up for dinner either. Tears spilled uncontrollably for the second time in the day. The first time had been when you had gotten home after being left alone at a Panera.
You told her about recent events. About Miguel and Justine and your argument at lunch. "Oh dear, arguments are the most normal things ever in marriage, just because you and Miguel don't argue as often and me and Nico doesn't make it abnormal," she reassured.
"I know but I don't even know why I'm acting like this," you sighed.
"Cara mia[my love/in Italian], you're jealous. You want to know why?" she asked.
"Why?" you replied.
"Because you love him so much. Comparison is the thief of joy. Instead of comparing yourself to Justine and villainizing her, try to understand things from her point of view," Donna said.
As you lay on his side of the bed, in his shirt crying into his pillow, you heard the door open and close followed by a sigh and the sound of his keys hitting the counter.
You quickly moved to your side of the bed and turned away from him pretending to be asleep. The door to your room swung open. Miguel expected to see you waiting for him like usual at your desk working on your new book.
He was surprised to see you already in bed at 11:00 pm. You could hear him change and toss his clothes in the hamper. You felt part of the bed depress as Miguel got under the sheets with you. A warm hand was rubbing your shoulder. "Querida[Beloved], I'm sorry Querida," Miguel whispered as he peppered kisses onto your shoulder.
You shrugged your shoulder away from him and stayed silent. “Can we talk this out please?” he asked. The only answer he got was a sniffle.
Miguel observed the goosebumps on your skin and spooned you. He knew you were cold even if you acted like you didn’t want him to hold you. Stroking your hair slowly he began to speak, "I love you. So much that sometimes thinking about it makes my heart hurt in the best way possible. My intention was never to hurt you," he started. He waited for a response but still nothing.
"It's hard for me to not care about the cannon, and it was broken big time today," he continued. Call him crazy but he could hear your eyes roll.
"The last thing I would want you to think is that I'm choosing work or another woman over you, I promise I'll make it up to you. It'll probably take you a while to forgive me, I'll give you your space but please just let me hold you?" he asked softly.
You turned around slowly and snuggled into his chest. He tenderly kissed your forehead and the tear stains on your cheeks. "I'm so sorry my love," he finally whispered as his melancholy heartbeat lulled you to sleep.
. . .
next part → "I hate it when you're not around,"

In camp we have three irish people and I think their approach to their heitage is so interesting. We have Sean whos father was really proud of being Irish but who had to flee to USA when Sean around 11 or so, maybe even younger. We have Molly who grew up in Ireland, who lived in high society and found it boring so she went to USA as an adult and then we have Kieran whos father wanted to go to California and never really, as far as we know, had any connection to Ireland at all, doesn't even know the "correct" pronoucation of Colm.
Sean was young when he came to the US, most likely he remembered very little about Ireland itself, he might be able to remember a feeling or a few places, but yet he clings onto it, holds his nationally up and proud. I am more inclined to believe that rather than loving Ireland for being Ireland, he loves Ireland because his father loved Ireland, Sean always loved his father, worshipped him almost, even wears his hat. I don't think it would be a long shot to say that he likes Ireland because his father liked Ireland. His main source of information on his heritage was his father who was busy keeping them both alive and probably didn't have a lot of time to teach Sean about the Irish culture.
Sean clings onto the fact that he is Irish even though his knowledge of Ireland is limited because of his father.
Molly grew up with everything. She is Irish through and through, not just blood but also culture, she grew up around it, she was molded into it. She had her whole life to learn about the Irish culture and yet she didn't find it that interesting, she found it rather boring, so she fled for something more interesting, exotic, cowboys and outlaws.
Kieran did not have a long time to learn about Irish culture as his Irish father died when he was very young, completely cutting him off from his culture, however he got somewhat back in touch with it again when he was forced to join the O'Driscolls who are majority Irish, giving him a look into the culture and traditions that he had missed.
You can see Sean mocking Molly for not being "Irish enough" around camp even though she most likely knows more about Ireland and the culture than him, something he might feel threatened by as he was used to being the only Irishman around camp and now he might have to face the reality of his lack of knowledge about the very thing he prides himself on. He might also be angry at Molly because she threw away the very culture Sean tries to keep whereas Molly might find him stupid for so desperately trying to keep in touch with something she finds boring.
Kieran on the other hand never tells anyone he is Irish, he doesn't find it of much importance as his family didn't either, however he might carry more "casual" irish knowledge than what he might lead on. Being with the O'Driscolls would have in some way reintroduced him to his culture and he would have been taught at least some mannerisms that he might not even realize are Irish because he recognizes them from his childhood, a childhood where there was no focus on the fact they were Irish. For him slang, special dishes or mannerisms would feel natural as he also saw them as a kid, he wouldn't realize they are special. At the same time he wouldn't realize what parts of his culture are missing such as his pronunciation of "Colm" which Sean angrily points out is actually pronounced "Col-om", Kieran doesn't see that he is saying it "wrong."
Sean who clings onto the culture ripped away from him.
Molly who is so used to the culture she finds it boring.
Kieran who doesn't even know he is carrying a culture with him.

I know I only post art here but for future reference here are some Stardew Valley headcanons:
Sebastian and Maru actually have a good relationship because their parents shortcomings aren't their shortcomings, in fact Maru looks up to Seby a lot because he's an introvert like her but managed to have a tight friend group
Leah and Haley get lost in conversations about lighting and composition. When Leah arrived in town they didn't care for each other at first but ended up bonding over their artsy interests. Haley lets Leah use her dark room to do experiments, and secretly thinks she's effortlessly very cool
Maru doesn't really hang out with the others but Abigail saw her out of her nurse attire while visiting Sebastian and started being interested in her. Maru also noticed her and contrary to popular belief she's the one who started flirting first
Elliott loves to surprise Leah with stunning vegetarian charcuterie boards, they actually plan little pic nic dates around it, she brings the wine and they spend the evening on the lake dock
Harvey and Emily kind of fuss over Shane and his wellbeing, and he pretends to hate it but he's secretly very grateful for their friendship and sometimes feels like they (and the farmer lol) are the only people who didn't give up on him. Emily in particular likes to make dark jokes about his situation and she's the only one who gets the pass from Shane for it.
Sebastian spent years pining HARD after Sam and at some point he thought he was just envious of how easily he bonded with people and was liked by everyone.
Sam is very physical, he gives the biggest hugs to everyone but he specifically loves to push Sebastian's buttons to the limit. Actually, Sam has a hidden kind of sadistic side to him when it comes to sabotaging Lewis' plans and flustering Seby.
Penny is NOT a girl's girl, but she kind of gets dragged along to plans with the gals because ohana means family and not even the Pick Me© girl gets left behind
Emily managed to make Harvey try *magic* mushrooms once. He enjoyed the experience despite having tremendous anxiety about the whole thing, he found it scientifically interesting. He wouldn't do it again tho
Alex was so sure he had the biggest crush on Haley for all his teen years but in reality he just admired her femininity and her style. Haley didn't reciprocate but liked the attention because he actually never made a move towards her, so they had this comfortable situation that fit society standards. They started having an honest friendship only after Alex's coming out
Emily is the biggest fan of the Goblin Destroyers and she offers to sew special merch for them. Sam, Seb and Abby are so grateful for her support

I haven’t stopped thinking about that Hobie baby fever fic ever since you posted it. Many thoughts. Many thoughts many many thoughts and ideas many many little ideas.
You have people saying ‘Oh good luck lol kids are SO hard!’ ‘He’s definitely gonna regret it you’re gonna be a single parent’. But Hobie’s probably been WISHING from a young age he could be a parent, the only thing he didn’t prep for is your little one grabbing his wicks and him nervously calling out “Luv, luv help me LUV-”. He learnt very quickly to tie his hair back when he’s holding them. If you have a little girl, everyone always thinks it’s you who’s done her hair for the day or for school. NOPE. Hobie’s been with her in the bathroom since 6 in the morning putting her in braids and buns. Your baby is his whole world and he’ll be DAMNED if he won’t be the absolute best dad EVER ‼️
Oh my godddddddddd my ovaries went 💥💥
The Pitter Patter of Little Feet Pt. 2
Dad!Hobie x Wife!Reader
TW/CW: A lil angst at the start, Fluff. So much fluff.
A/N: I'm basing all my baby prep off of the things I had to do for my nephew. I am unsure the proper care that goes into textured hair but I hope I can do it justice!
Tumblr media
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
You remember what people told you, how "someone like him" wouldn't be able to handle being a dad, how he'd leave you. The words said by your mother hurt the worst, the things she said about Hobie. Your father was no better, especially when they found out you two agreed to get pregnant before anything else.
Especially after you put the positive pregnancy tests, the test results from blood work with your doctor, and some baby booties on the table as a surprise.
It was supposed to go like you imagined, right? Happy jubilant crying, hugs, congratulations...
You got the exact opposite, with your parents criticizing everything about your boyfriend, the father of your unborn baby. The man you loved.
"What kind of father would he be? A bad one, just look at how he's dressed! You think he can help dress your child?" Your mother scoffed. "And those awful piercings! I bet your baby will be running around with holes in their face by the time they're six!"
"And what about a job? You can't be the only one to support your family. He's a man, he needs to step up and quit it with that "punk lifestyle". It's not suitable to raise my grandchild in!" Your father grunted.
After your baby was born, you cut them off and had a courthouse wedding, and a little get-together with his friends from the Spider Society. A mix of a reception and baby shower.
Joke's on them! Hobie was an amazing father, and an amazing husband. The moment he found out you two were having a little girl?
Pink. And. Purple. Her style would be all punkish of course.
He got stuffed instruments that crinkled for when she would teethe, some guitar-shaped rattles...
And he would never admit it, but Hobie actually cried, when he got to hold your baby girl for the first time. You guys named her Selena. Selena Brown.
She came out angry, wailing, as if she was pissed off at the world she had only been in for a few moments.
"Already got the spirit! Make a big noise, a big statement. That's my girl!" Hobie laughed, playing with her tiny feet.
After that, Hobie was very attentive. From you working from home, he would help. He'd fetch the breast pump when you needed it, would prep the bottles, and keep Selena occupied while you worked. He would even take the late shifts at night to make sure you got your rest.
As Selena got bigger, her hair became a bit unruly, and at times you had no idea what to do with it. Hobie? He came in clutch. The proper ties, hair masks, grease (if needed), oils, brushes...
The trick was getting the rambunctious one year old to hold still while her father attempted to tame the poofy mass.
It was one day, you got up from your computer only to hear Hobie shout your name.
"Babe! Babe!" He cried out, grunting.
Of course, you made a dash for the living room, only to see your husband with your toddler. Apparently she had moved behind him, her hands clinging to his shirt to help keep her balanced as she bounced on her little chubby feet.
Her big brown eyes gleamed as she giggled, her bottom teeth poking out in the most adorable way.
Well... it wasn't from where Hobie sat.
Selena's little fist had a tight hold over one of his wicks, tugging his head back sharp.
"A lil' help, luv?!" He winced, hissing at you as you covered your face to try and keep from laughing.
"Come on, Bug, give daddy's poor head a rest. He's got enough problems with that mess he calls hair." You tease, scooping up your little girl.
But... even though her grip loosened, Hobie's wick stayed attached to her hand.
"Oh... ohhhhh..." You said, clicking your tongue.
"What! What!" Hobie groaned, trying to tug his head free.
"You made me have a spider baby."

Asking some writers/artists I follow:
Is there anything in your fic/comic that you as the author know about, but won't end up in the actual story?
So I have a rather uh disorganized way of telling the story of the TSAU, I jump back and forth in the timeline quite a bit depending on what part of the story I wanna tell. Overall I improvise quite a bit, and because of that I can't be 100% sure what will be depicted in the story and what wont. But I might as well share some little tidbits of lore that are probably not gonna be mentioned in the main story (though they still might who knows lol)
So uh. April and Kendra are exes. Kinda. They were pretty close friends when they were younger and decided to become a couple when they were like 9 or something. This lasted for a grand total of.... 2 days, maybe? Then they had a huge fight about something silly like, I dunno, Kendra hacked April's tamagotchi as a prank and she got mad so they broke up and they've had major beef ever since.
Draxum made Mikey wear some type of artifact or gear that supressed his mystic powers as a kid for his own safety. Mikey started showing an incredible talent for the mystic arts at a very young age. Draxum was excited about this for all of 5 seconds before realizing that Mikey is a VERY small child with NO impulse control and he's definetily gonna turn himself and the rest of the family into glitter unless Draxum finds a way prevent that from happening until Mikey has the chance to develop an understanding of consequences. (He's learned to control his powers well enough to not need them by the time of the main-story, so he no longer wears the supressors)
Donnie's whole villain-act he puts on is partially a coping mechanism. He grew up never knowing anyone like himself (unless you count Splinter, I suppose) so the only times he saw himself represented in anything was characters in comics and shows and such. There were plenty of anthropomorphic reptile characters in the media he consumed, and Donnie clunged to anyone or anything that he could at least somewhat relate to. Problem is, a lot of these anthro reptiles were like.... y'know... villains. It's pretty common for super heroes and stuff to fight evil mutant reptile creatures, and even stories with only anthro characters reptiles tend to be charactarized as more villainous. Granted, turtles specifically usually don't get this treatment, but it still had quite an effect on Donnie as a little kid that most characters similar to him would be viewed as evil, which caused him to internalize that mindset. So turtle tot Donnie basically went like "Yes! This is what I am! A villain in someone else's story! It all makes sense now! This is a healthy mindset to have!" and just kinda embraced the role that human society had given to him because he didn't really know how else to deal. (Things changed after meeting April and he found out that there might actually be humans out there who might treat him like a person and not just a freak of nature! He still plays into the villain-persona, partially for fun and partially as a coping thing, but he doesn't have nearly as a negative view of himself now as he did as a tot)
And last, but certainly not least................ Draxum owns a Lou Jitsu body pillow (PURELY for research-purposes, NO other reason!)

Can i please request a romantic Simon Basset x OC/reader fic? Simon being completely in love with her since they were young, but since his father told him to go away, they separated. They met again.
Tumblr media
-> Pairings: Simon basset x reader
-> warnings: none
Simon basset and miss l/n had always been friends, thing caused by her bubbly nature that could outshine the sun even in an August day. She was the only one with whom he could talk without stuttering, he felt at ease and nothing could really make him sad if she was near him. Her presence as a reminder that not all in life was sad and angry at him, that not everyone was disappointed in him, on the contrary she never made him feel bad about himself.
When the old duke of Hastings sent his son away due to the problems he was causing to his own mental health, the two were separated, nothing in means of letters or visits between the two for years if not the memories captured together and the burning sensations in the part of their body that the other touched, or the single pink flower dried out inside Skmon's favorite book that she gifted him as a reminder of the beauty hidden behind fragilness. Both the young hearts were left shattered thinking they would never see each other ever again.
But in his drawer were piled up letters written in his best calligraphy and on the best paper money could buy, for his best friend and little piece of heaven, who had been his own safe place in the mess his childhood had been.
It was her who motivated him enough to return to his old house when the man died, and he found her on the steps of his big place, with glimmering eyes and the brightest smile that ever existed. He stopped in front of her with his mouth that had gone dry, she had grown into the most exquisite young lady he had ever seen or imagined to lay eyes on, his eyes widened and his hands were begging for something to grasp onto to not loose balance while she watched him, she took one step forward and his heart skipped a beat. Even if he only realized now he could pinpoint her as the only woman in his life to which he could ever truly love, but he stayed silent, catching up with her like old times, not stuttering like when they were just little kids playing in the garden not caring about duties.
The days passed and the season started, now miss l/n obviously came from a very wealthy family and her kindness and beauty were known upon the society, but this was her first season, and her older brother and father refused to give away such a perfect girl to anyone so, when they catched up with the Duke longing stares they decided to talk to him, a man of honor, well bred, wealthy. Simon never in his life thought that he deserved for his dreams to become reality but he knew he was a duke and her best solution to this world of strange couples, so he was the one to go talk to her father, asking him her hand in marriage and bowing down on one knee with watering eyes as he proclaimed his love to her:
" never had I ever experienced such strong emotions nor strange feelings, my stomach flutters and my troath goes dry as if I was denying myself with water for you, you make my heart stop and the dream of seeing you walk down the aisle to me has been my favorite image for my life. So please accept my undying love for you because I cannot breathe if I'm not near you, neither I can eat or drink or sleep away from you, you are my sun and my moon and every single star in the sky, my whole body was created to match yours and my core only exists to love you and adore you, you make me burn like I was in a fire that cannot die. So please do me the honor and let me make you the duchess of Hastings "
Her response was awaited from the ball room that had just seen him pacing in front of the doors before barging in and stopping the dance that was occurring at the time, she held her breath and nodded slowly while forcing herself to blink as I'd to make herself realize that that moment was true.

Winx and their Favourite Literary Tropes
Bloom: Found Family. The girl is queer, most likely a fan fiction enjoyer, if not a writer, and has been bullied. She is THE target demographic for this trope.
(plus, she literally went on and created her very own family of Winx)
Musa: Other than the very obvious choice of Your Crush is Mean to Everyone but You (ahem, ahem, Riven), Musa would love the Soulmates trope. It’s very comforting, to believe that there exists a person cosmically tied to you — someone who will have to love you, in spite of your flaws and hurts. Belong to you fully.
Aisha: although Aisha is usually a very calm and compassionate person, I think she would find Revenge narratives cathartic. Let the girlie read about a vengeful princess cutting down her past abusers, she deserves it!
Stella: definitely a romance girlie. I could see her either obsessing over a litany of romantic cliches (Prince in Shining Armour, only One Bed, nursing each other’s wounds (but only in theory, blood is disgusting), forced proximity, enemies to lovers, etc) OR hating them all due to how predictable they are. BUT she would definitely despise any toxic romance tropes Musa seems to love: the Mafia ones, the sunshine x grumpy, the “he’s cold but actually cares”. If both people are not whole-heartedly into each other, she’s not into it.
Flora: she is definitely a fantasy girlie (what is even fantasy for the society of Magix?). Particularly, she loves world-building and lore, brimming with their own unique biomes and freaky little creatures. She also likes Anti-Heroes or Misunderstood Villains. They play on all of her emotional strings.
Tecna: contrary to what you may expect, I don’t think Tecna would like sci-fi very much. What is sci-fi to the majority of the universe, to Zenith is reality. She would most likely find fantastical elements of these books cheesy or over-the-top. Tecna would like Heists: dynamic, fast-paced, high stakes. Puzzle pieces coming together to form a brilliant plan, complete with witty banter and colourful characters.
(I also think she would like Dysfunctional Families. Her parents interacted with her only when necessary; she was an only child. She would be fascinated by messy and tragic interactions between people who should walk away, but just can’t part with each other.)
some other characters I thought of:
Roxy: Supernatural, Talking Animal Companion.
Brandon: Hopelessly Devoted, Mutual Pining, Martyr.
Sky: Reverse Damsel in Distress/Distressed Dude? (the heroine saves his captured ass; he’s into girls that can snap him in half).
Nabu: the Chosen One, the Robin Hood, switch-and-bait.
Helia: long journeys as metaphors for a soul search; tending to the other person’s wounds; cosmic or eldritch horror.
Riven: the Princess and the Peasant, Hero saves the Day, Grumpy Mentor who cares.
Timmy: the Headquarters, Secret World, outsmarting your enemies.
Mirta: a fellow enjoyer of Doomed by the narrative, bonus points if it’s sapphic.

Whenever I see people say things like "Pinkie Pie should've been a pegasus" or "Fluttershy fits earth pony more" I get a little frustrated because TO ME the mane six have always been a really good example of "societal expectations" VS "societal deviance" of the three pony species within equestria.
Earth ponies are almost always expected to be providers. Like the Apple family for example or the Cake family OR even the "flower trio". They provide necessities, often food or they often provide hard labour (note how "background" jobs like construction and taxi pulling are most often done by earth ponies too). Applejack is obviously a perfect example of this! She's the head of her family, she's extremely hard working, shes incredibly physically strong, she's known and relied on by most of Ponyvill. Applejack very much lives up to the expectations that pony society has of earth ponies.
Pinkie Pie on the other hand is not one bit concerned with hard work. Her whole thing is having fun and throwing parties. In a way she is also providing something very important and necessary, socialisation and relaxation, however these are generally not deemed as valuable as strenuous labour and food production. Pinkie Pie is always written off as "childish" or not taking things seriously enough. She isn't deemed as very reliable a lot of the time and has to work very hard to prove herself, more so than someone like Applejack.
Ponyvill was founded by earth pony farmers, and is densely populated by earth ponies. Earth ponies are expected to work hard and grow food and provide for everyone, their roles are incredibly necessary and their work is highly appreciated. However, without someone like Pinkie Pie who deviates from those expectations, Ponyvill would be a miserable place (as seen in the episode Magical Mystery Cure). She may not be a farmer or a construction worker but her divergence from earth pony "standards" is what keeps everything in balance.
The same can be said for Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy too. Rainbow Dash is an exceptional athlete, she flies like no other pony and she almost always has her wits about her. At the end of the day, Rainbow Dash is truly a performer at heart, she wants to be in the Wonderbolts and show off her skills to all of Equestria. Pegasi are expected to be fast, agile, eager, always cool, proud and quick witted just like the Wonderbolts, and just like Rainbow Dash. She is a peak performance pegasus.
Fluttershy is Rainbows exact opposite. She doesn't care for speed, adventure or displays of athleticism, she truly doesn't even care for flying. She is, in both a literal and metaphorical way, very "down to earth", however her role is still very important and her being a pegasus is still very integral to who she is. If it weren't for her experiences of being ostracised for being different she would never have the empathy and dedication to her animals the way she does (and on more practical note, being able to fly does aid her in her work a lot the time). Fluttershy slows down, she's quiet and she gentle which something that other pegasi (and earth ponies honestly) struggle with. It was alway right for Fluttershy to be a pegasus who could soar the skies, because if she never fell down to earth she would have never found her true calling. Without ponies like her, many important things, creatures and events would go unnoticed and unchecked.
Rarity and Twilight Sparkle is kind of a funny one because I think a lot of people may expect Twilight to be the prime example of unicorns, but that's not really true at all. Twilight, despite being our mane character, is actually the deviant one here.
This is illustrated for us almost immediately in the first episode, where she's invited to a party by three other unicorns but ditches it to go study instead. Magic is merely a tool for most unicorns, but for ponies like Twilight or Starlight, it is their whole existence, it's what they were quite literally born to do. Twilight does not value social status at all, she doesn't have time to and growing up so stuck in her studies I'm not even sure she aware that it's such a big deal to others, especially within Canterlot. It's also worth noting that to Twilight, Princess Celestia was always her teacher and Princess Cadence was her babysitter so their status as royals never really mattered to her and she's able to see them more are regular ponies for that reason also.
Most Unicorns are socialites, they value "social currency" and monetary gain more than they value magic. They don't care that the Princesses are very powerful magically, they care more about their political powers and their social status as royals. We see this clearly in the season 2 episode "Sweet and Elite" where Rarity gets swept up on the high society life of Canterlot, when she mentions being from Ponyvill to two random snobby unicorns they look down on her, yet once it's revealed that she's staying at the castle for her visit, things change, mostly notably: her status. Rarity is a prime example of a unicorn, she's stylish, she's ambitious, she's concerned with image, she's social, she has very fine tastes and she's a businesswoman.
As the series progresses we she both Twilight and Rarity gain some fame. Twilight is mostly inconvenienced and troubled by this whereas Rarity, like most unicorns would, relishes in any sort of limelight. Unicorns are expected to be professional, they're most often more modern or "ahead of the curve" than other ponies and tend they to be the primary business owners of Equestria. However without ponies like Twilight, magic would become just an afterthought. Without powerful wizards like Starswirl, dedicated students like Subburt or magic obsessed freaks (affectionate) like Twilight Sparkle, pony society would crumble.
Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Rarity are prime examples of what is expected of earth ponies, pegasi and unicorns, respectively, in Equestrian society. However without ponies like Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Twilight Sparkle there would be no balance and no progression. In fact in the episode "Hearts Warming Eve" we literally get canon lore telling us that if it wasn't for three ponies who deviated from the rules and expectations of their respective tribes, that Equestria wouldn't even exist today.
I think the mane six are a great small scale example of how pony society functions and I really appreciate this aspect of the writing <3

Aydith
Adam Warlock x Star Lord’s Sister/Reader
Summary: Adam and reader have a baby.
//I started working on one where the reader actually gave birth but put that on hold because I wasn’t sure if I should finish it. I may make this a series because I kinda want to explore dad!Adam more and uncle!Peter and the rest of a the Guardians as aunts and uncles. If people are interested. Anyway hope you guys enjoy! (next time I think I will do present POV and not past, but whatever lol!) EDIT: This is now a series. Here is a LINK to the master-post with links to all of the one shots.
                                             Aydith
You and your older brother, Peter, had practically grown up with Yondu and the Ravengers. Seen things, some being terrible at that. Found a new family with the Guardians. Experienced battles. War. The destruction of whole societies. Planets. But any of those old fears were nothing compared to what you were experiencing now. The heavy, nervous thumps in your heart as you stared down at the tiny being in your arms. Thumps that were equally as terrifying as this strange new feeling of overwhelming, unbridled love.
Her skin was a brilliant shade of gold--something she had inherited from her father. What little hair she had was more so copper, but that could easily change with time. Even through her golden skin, the rosiness of her cheeks blushed like petals. And her eyes…for the past nine months you had been anticipating they would be his. But the very first time she opened them, they were the most intense shade of_____. Just like yours. She was beautiful. Far, far beyond that. She was yours. Both of yours.
“She’s so small.” Adam’s voice cut through the silence. “Is that…is she okay?”
You glanced over at him from where he sat on the edge of your bed. Everything had been a blur up until this moment. The birth had not been an easy one. A lot had happened. It was certainly unexpected. And the chance that something horrible could have come from it all was a fate no one wanted to think about. But you were safe, and more importantly she was, so in the end that was all that mattered.
“Yeah.” You assured him, watching intently as he gingerly touched one of her clenched fists. “She’s perfect, isn’t she?”
“More than anything in the entire realm of galaxies.” Adam agreed with a small smile, clearly mesmerized. “And she’s ours.”
“Yeah.” You breathed, looking at her. “She is.” Silence fell between you for a brief moment before a thought suddenly came to your mind. “Do you want to hold her?”
Adam blinked, looking at you in almost comical surprise. “I can hold her?”
It takes everything within you to keep from bursting into a fit of laughter. Being exhausted and sore helped with that. “Of course, she is your kid after all.”
“What if I…” He hesitated, glancing from you to the baby. “What if something…”
“You won’t hurt her.” You promised, wincing a little as you lean forward to place her in his arms. “They aren’t as delicate as they look. Or, at least someone told me that…”
Adam took her gently, going rigid when she let a little noise. Slowly, you watch as his posture relaxes. The way he gazed at her, watching with such intent and adoration. You never thought you could love him more until now. You couldn’t help but question what you had done to deserve them both.
“I…I thought I was going to lose you, Y/N.” Adam said quietly, finally meeting your stare once more. “Back on the ship. I really thought…” And the way his eyes have begun to water causes a swell of emotion to find you. “All of us really, and if something had…your brother would’ve never forgiven me.”
“Hey, I’m okay.” You said softly. “Both of us are.” You paused, before adding. “It’s going to take a hell of a lot more to get rid of me. We Quills are pretty resilient.”
Adam chuckled softly, stroking the top of the infant’s hand. “As I have witnessed.”
“You know, she kinda needs a name.” You reached over, lightly brushing your fingertips against the top of her head. “Any suggestions?”
He hummed thoughtfully, adjusting your daughter in his arms. “My mother’s name was Ayesha.” Adam began to talk faster as if he thought you’d interject. You wouldn’t. “I know she committed horrible acts and was not the greatest of all beings, but…she was wonderful to me and I loved her. I…can understand if you are against it, however.”
“It’s a pretty name.” You told him, giving him a smile. “My mother’s name was Meredith. I didn’t get to know her, she died when I was really young. But Peter talks about her, a lot more than he used to.”
“Meredith…” He mused, studying the baby’s face. “That is also a nice name.”
You took a moment to consider the two. One could easily be the first and the second a middle. The problem would be, in that case, which one you would call her. Suddenly an idea comes to mind, one that you hope didn’t sound too ridiculous.
“What about Aydith?”
Adam looked at you with a brow raised. “Aydith?”
“A combination of the two.” You explained, shrugging your shoulders. “We could honor them both…It doesn’t sound too funny does it?”
You watched as he glanced down at the baby, remaining silent for a moment. “Aydith…” He said slowly, as if testing out the name. “I like it. Aydith is a good name.”
You smiled softly, peering down into her little face as Adam leaned over.
“Hello, Aydith.” You whispered gently. “Welcome to the universe.”

✦⸼࣪⸳𝐆𝐍!𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫
✦⸼࣪⸳ 𝐖𝐜: 1,4k
✦⸼࣪⸳ 𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆!!: Mentions of injuries.
✦⸼࣪⸳A/N: Just a small concept I'd like to share. I'm planning to post more and turn this into a small series if you guys like it <3
Tumblr media
It was no secret that Albedo and Klee were a small family. The energetic girl in red who passed by like a flickering spark; and the mysterious alchemist who looked after her. Ever since Alice left to live her adventures, Albedo has been playing a major role in taking care of the small knight.
When Klee wasn't in solitary confinement, it was because she was certainly out exploring and blowing things up. Even though she has a small stature and innocent eyes, the rule of never underestimating her always stood. When unsupervised Klee could destroy everything, no exceptions.
And unlike all her past adventures, which had ended in explosive discoveries - which were mostly made up of toasted fish and monster remains - she had made a discovery that, hopefully, wasn't harmful to society as a whole.
It was just another day of fun for the little girl, who had just been released from the tedious hell of solitary confinement. She would only go up the Dragonspine to meet her older brother, Albedo and play for a while before going back to her other activities.
"Klee's finally going to show off her new jumpty dum-"
While bouncing around quietly, she lost her balance by tripping over something and fell face-first to the ground. Luckily for her, the fall was covered by snow. After seconds of shock, she turned around to check what she had tripped over.
Well, not exactly something, but someone.
A child who appeared to be older than her was there, on the ground, covered by the snow. They weren't dressed in the same clothing citizens of Mondstadt would wear, with a thick coat and boots specially crafted
to help them get around in the snow. Even though their outfit was made for the cold, it was in shambles and their boots were completely worn out.
There was no reaction from them, which created an immediate sense of panic on the girl, who immediately thought she had killed them.
"Oh no, oh no! I’m sorry!" She looked down and then to the sides in panic. “I-I’ll grab Mr. Albedo!”
She ran off, desperately up the mountain. Her eyes filled with tears as she hurried to the Albedo Campsite. Klee ran so fast that even the hilichurs scattered around the site were confused.
When Klee finally reached her destination, she started screaming to call his attention. It worked, since he seemed to have heard her.
"Mr. Albedo! Mr. Albedo!"
There he was, fiddling with his little notebook while making some sketches (which would be left completely unfinished). When Albedo turned his gaze to her, he couldn't help but notice the hot tears flowing from her eyes.
"Klee? What happened?"
He crouched down next to her and put his hands on her shoulders, the sketchbook already abandoned in some corner.
"K-Klee hurt someone! But it was an accident, I swear!"
His face darkened, but not in a way that frightened her. If what Klee really confessed was true, she would be in serious trouble. Solitary confinement would be silly next to the consequences she could receive, since her bombs are quite powerful. He feared he wouldn't be able to help her out of this situation this time.
"Did you... hurt a person? Take me there, quickly please."
She began to guide him down the mountain. The two of them with distressed faces racing against time to get to where Klee had found the injured person. When they arrived, the child was still there.
Albedo knelt down next to them and cautiously measured his pulse; there were signs of life. He let out a relieved breath as he checked.
"Are you sure you hurt them, Klee?"
He asked before cradling them in his arms. There was no trace of destruction at the scene or any wound that looked like it had been caused by a catalyst, Klee's weapon. This indicated that perhaps there had been a misunderstanding there.
"I was running and then... boom! I fell!
"When I looked back, they were lying there! But Klee promises it was just a little accident!”
"Got it." He looked at her, seeing her eyes full of guilt. "But maybe you didn't hurt them. Don't think about it too much, okay?"
"Okay..."
The two made their way all the way back to the Campsite, where Albedo treated the wounds and warmed the child with blankets. It wasn't too difficult to raise their body temperature when you had Klee around; the girl herself was already a walking heater due to her pyro vision.
"Hm...?"
They opened their eyes, taking in their surroundings and the two people in front of them. Two blonds with big eyes, at least in their point of view at the moment.
"Wait a minute... where am I?"
"You're safe.”
They sat up and looked directly at Albedo. However physically unstable, they were in a state of alertness around the two of them. Who wouldn't? Waking up in an unknown place with unknown people when you just passed out. It’s definitely a weird setting.
"Safe where exactly?"
"Mondstadt! The city of freedom!" the youngest exclaimed with her hands up to the air and a big smile. "Although we're on the Dragonspine... but it still counts, I guess."
"Mondstadt..." They looked around in confusion before their eyes widened and they started looking all over the place for something.
"Looking for this, perhaps?"
Albedo held out his hand to them. A slightly dirty anemo vision met their eyes, calming their racing hearts. There was still hope while this gem still shone.
"Oh, for the Archon..."
"From your clothes, you don't look like you come from Mondstadt." Albedo returned their gaze, placing it in their palms while offering a friendly smile.
"I don't know... I can't remember anything."
"What do you mean you don't know? Can you at least remember your name?"
They tried to answer, but soon gave up. Their faces bore an expression of confusion that made it clear that they were completely clueless.
"I don't know if I even have a name-"
"Then can I give you one?"
Klee watched them with a smile on her chubby face. The joy in her eyes was evident.
"I think... you can."
Klee then put her hands together and began to think of various name ideas. Perhaps allowing a child to choose a name is one of the worst decisions possible. But Klee was too cute to deny it. It would be cruel to shatter her heart when she was so excited.
"Dodoca...? That way you have a name that matches dodoco’s."
"What?"
The two of you stared at each other for an uncomfortable second. They were completely speechless. What kind of name was that?! They were young, of course. But even so they knew it was a bad choice.
"Klee... I think it would be better if you choose from a list instead of creating a name."
"Why?" She put a finger over her lips, thinking about the option on offer.
"Wouldn't it be better to have several options instead of just one? You might think of a better name later and regret having thought of this one."
Albedo spent a few minutes thinking and writing down some options on a sheet of paper. When he had finished, he presented them to Klee. Some were popular names in Mondstadt and others more unique. He seemed to have written down more than twenty options.
Klee went through them one by one, looking at the other child a few times to try and find one that matched.
"What about... [Name]?"
She pointed to one name in particular, drawing the attention of the other two to herself. It was a cool name with an even cooler meaning.
"I think it's a good name, but the final decision is up to the one who'll receive it."
"I... I like it!" Their smiles widened a little, causing Klee's to widen even more. Perhaps Klee had finally found a new friend to whom she could introduce Qiqi and Diona.
"So it will be [Name] until your mind remembers your real name."
Albedo smiled and patted both their heads gently. His hands, even with gloves, were cold; but that wasn't a problem at the time. His touch was gentle and gave a sensation of safety.
"Welcome, [Name]."
Tumblr media
✦⸼࣪⸳♡ BONUS:
"So... you blow up the fish?"
[Name] was holding some of Klee's bombs cautiously. He was looking at the lake in front of them, where shoals were calmly passing by.
"Yes! Do you want to try?"
"Of course."
And that's how the first double solitary confinement in Mondstadt's history was carried out. The Intendant Grand Master's headaches were far from over.

as one of the foremost psychoanalysis posters on my dash i was wondering if you've heard this account of freud's early career: while treating women for hysteria he found that most of them were assaulted by male family members as children & developed psychological problems as a result (seduction theory?). but his writings on it were unpopular (especially among the wealthy men whose daughters he was treating), so he came up with the oedipus & electra complex as an alternate explanation that let his clients off the hook, instead saying that something just went wrong internally (lundy bancroft called it the beginning of victim-blaming in psychology).
as someone who knows more than i about this field, do you know if there's any accuracy to this story? it seems to imply psychosexual development theory exists to cover up traumatic events, which puts a shaky foundation under any later theories drawing from it, and people often dismiss all of freud & psychoanalysis because of it...
yes its true about the history seduction theory but im not entirely sure if it is as directly correlated to the oedipus complex as it often is thought by critics of freud, and i dont think it invalidates the principles of psychoanalysis as a whole. his correspondence with some other doctors in the 1890s are directly related to seduction theory and you can see that the issue of seduction theory concerned him a lot and he was reluctant to dismiss it but was very influenced by society at the time.
another complicating factor is that much of freuds work was preserved by his daughter anna freud, who was for the most part a conservative force in psychoanalysis both in her own practice and in how she presented his work. a lot of his letters and writings are omitted and edited because of her, including things that show his own ambivalence about certain ideas and how his relationships with other doctors and psychiatrists influenced him to take certain positions.
this article goes into it a bit and you can see the ways that anna freud has influenced our knowledge of freud and a little bit about this period of his studies. i think another thing people really miss when they talk about freud is that so much modern medicine we currently use today came from this time period as well and just as much of the "hard sciences" also came from some things that seem pretty ridiculous and unscientific to us today, and many just outright wrong, but only psychoanalysis is given so much skepticism and criticism.
this is not to defend it, freud was absolutely incorrect in many cases and, contrary to popular views of him, very aware of the limits of his knowledge and the inaccuracies inherent in pioneering any new type of medicine. this especially he emphasizes- that any new science is bound to make errors and be imprecise. freud constantly was reformulating his ideas and made many revisions to psychosexual theory throughout his life, not to mention by all the psychoanalysts who came after him. historically, its not surprising that freud and the other pioneering psychoanalysts, most of them austrian and german jews already occupying an uneasy position, were led to revise some of their more radical discoveries that appeared to threaten turn of the century european society. psychoanalysis was considered extremely shocking and obscene at the time for even venturing to say that sexuality had such a presence in peoples lives, and that people were not moved entirely by reason and rationality (as this was the era of the enlightenment and a lot of optimism about science) so sure its disappointing but not surprising that freud retracted some of his more controversial views. and likely he would not have been as successful if he did not retract them, unfortunately. similarly with some of his writings on bisexuality that seem to point to the idea that there is no natural drive towards heterosexuality and there is no natural form sexuality takes.
the oedipus complex came more from other studies and freuds own self analysis than from seduction theory (to my knowledge at least) freud actually applied the oedipus complex only to young boys initially and has some stuff (that in my opinion holds up fairly well today and is compatible with ideas of construction of sexual and gendered difference we have now) about how young girls only come to the position of seeing the father as a love object after they realize through societal and family norms they are not meant to want the mother and 'unwillingly' (this is how freud and other early psychoanalysts describe it) are forced to identify with the mother and desire the father. freud rejected the idea of a parallel electra complex for women broke with jung over this, among other things.
im very much against this idea of freud as the founder of modern misogyny or the "beginning of victim blaming in psychology." this is a myopic historiography that ignores how radical freuds approach was in comparison with psychology and medical science at the time. most physicians at the time believed that patients hysteric or neurotic symptoms were either signs of a physical organic disease or that they were consciously faking them and in control of them. (why is freud the father of victim blaming and not these doctors?) common treatment would mainly be locking them up to be studied or dubious 19th century surgeries and medical treatments. freud was one of the first to ever propose that hysteric and neurotic patients were not purposefully consciously deciding to do this but unconsciously reacting to something that happened to them, that symptoms represented a patient history that may be unknown or unarticulated to them but could be brought out by associations etc. thus that no symptoms are random or meaningless, all have some psychic significance, and it can be uncovered through analysis. this is the most crucial discovery of psychoanalysis, and although i think it was wrongly applied to seduction theory, he shows it time and again in many of his other clinical studies and interpretation of dreams, and it does not invalidate the whole of psychoanalysis

After a sleepless night, as you watched the first rays of sunlight spill into your room, you were sure of one thing;
Tonight was going to be absolute chaos.
You hadn’t liked attending balls even before all this but now that you and your betrothed had to pretend to be in love for the whole ton to see at the first ball you would attend?
You were more than ready to pretend to faint again just to avoid it.
Of course, you were the only person to feel that way. Between you and Benedict, you were the one who always found it hard to be or even sound friendly, Benedict on the other hand didn’t even have to try for the people to be drawn to him. You were beginning to feel like he could charm the whole room without so much as showing a little effort, so of course everyone was going to believe everything he said, including how in love he was.
Whereas you were going to have to show a lot of effort.
At least the wedding negotiations had been over in a day. Your uncle and Anthony -as the head of two families- had been quick with them and now all you and Benedict had to do was wait until the wedding which your aunt was very excited for.
“Y/N my dearest?”
You stopped dead in your tracks and peeked your head around the doorframe of the drawing room to look at your aunt who was writing a letter.
“Auntie?”
“Where are you going?”
“I told Lottie I would go to the florist with her,” you said. “She wants to buy flowers for her stepmother and the little ones, and for her own room.”
“Ah,” she said. “Did you decide what you will wear tonight at the ball?”
You leaned sideways to the doorframe. “Yes and it’s all ready. Paula laid them over.”
She smiled at you. “And are you very excited?” she asked. “It’ll be your first outing as a couple.”
You took in a breath and nodded. “Uh huh.”
“Everyone keeps asking me questions about you two but they really want to hear the details from you.”
You made a face. “I am aware.”
She shot you a knowing look.
“I know you’re not exactly fond of all that…attention,” she said softly. “And that you’d rather have your privacy until the wedding and afterwards.”
“Is it that obvious?”
“Oh painfully so,” she said with a small laugh, making you smile as well. “You do not have to tell them anything you do not wish to.”
You bit inside your cheek. “What if I wish to tell them nothing at all?”
“Then tell them nothing.”
You let out a bitter chuckle. “Oh of course. And I’m sure they will not insist.”
“Since when what people say to you affect your actions?” she asked and you shrugged your shoulders, biting at your nail.
“I don’t know anymore.”
“You’re in love and you’re getting married,” she said. “Tell them that. And if that’s not enough for them, they can just do what they’ve always done.”
“Which is?”
“Stay curious,” she said, winking at you and you scoffed a laugh.
“I shall make sure to tell them that,” you said as you pushed yourself off the doorframe. “I should go. I’ll bring you flowers though!”
“Oh you’re the sweetest,” she said, pressing a hand on her shoulder. “I’d like that a lot. Now go, you shouldn’t keep Miss Harlowe waiting.”
You nodded and made your way downstairs, then walked out of the house to get into the carriage.
                                                          *
The florist wasn’t very far so when you and Charlotte walked into it, she was still telling you about her latest suitor.
“And Mr. Greenway wanted to know what made Benedict break our courtship, can you believe it? He did not seem convinced when I told him there was no courtship.”
You ran your palm over the lavenders. “Your suitors make me want to stab them, honestly.”
“You and my papa seem to have that in common,” she said. “He keeps saying he does not wish to see me married and leave home.”
“And your stepmother?”
“Mama says I should only marry the one I love,” she said. “Like you and Benedict!”
You dragged your tongue over your teeth, keeping your gaze on the flowers.
“Are you very excited about the wedding, Y/N?”
“Uh huh,” you said before leaning in to smell the lavenders better. “Sure.”
She nibbled on her lip, rocking on the balls of her feet but remained silent, making you turn to her.
“Lottie?”
She bit down a smile. “Yes?”
“What is it?”
“I was just wondering,” she said. “If I could be your bridesmaid perhaps?”
You stared at her before a smile warmed your face, then you took a deep breath, narrowing your eyes in an attempt to look to be in deep thought.
“Hmm…” you said, “I may need to think of it.”
“Y/N!”
You scoffed a laugh and reached out to squeeze her hand.
“Lottie of course you will be my bridesmaid!” you said. “I would like to ask you to be my maid of honor, in fact.”
She let out a squeal and wrapped her arms around you to hug you, then pulled back.
“Of course!” she said. “I already have so many ideas about my gown, can it be pale blue do you think? I really like pale blue!”
“It’s your decision, I really will not mind whichever color you choose.”
“And your wedding gown?”
“I’m not certain yet,” you said after a beat. “There’s still time to think about it—you can buy these by the way. They’re good.”
She made her way to the counter to pay for the bunch, and you grabbed a bouquet of crocuses to do the same. The florist put them into a paper bag and gave it to you, and you both started walking towards the exit.
“You at least must have an idea about what your bridal bouquet,” she insisted. “Do you not?”
“Well I—” you started but then stopped in your tracks to approach the bouquets by the window.
“Aw they’re beautiful!” Lottie said. “What are those?”
“Tuberoses,” you said with a small smile, then leaned in to inhale the scent. “I like tuberoses.”
“Perhaps they can be your bridal bouquet!” she said and you pulled back from the flowers, then looked around.
“Perhaps— excuse me,” you said to the florist who approached you upon hearing you. “How much for a bouquet of these?”
The man stole a look at the flowers, then raised his brows.
“Those are tuberoses my lady.”
“Yes I know. How much?”
He shifted his weight and glanced at your hand. “My lady, I’m afraid I cannot sell them to you.”
You pulled your brows together and Lottie tilted her head to the left like a confused puppy.
“…Why not?”
“You’re unmarried, my lady.”
“She will be married soon!” Lottie chirped happily and your frown deepened.
“How is that relevant?”
“Tuberoses, my lady,” he said. “Unmarried ladies aren’t allowed to smell them or purchase them for that matter.”
Lottie’s hands flew to her face to cover her nose and mouth and you blinked a couple of times.
“But it will be my pleasure to sell them to you once you’re married—”
“I don’t understand,” you cut him off. “Why can’t I buy them now?”
“Tuberoses can awaken certain…urges my lady,” he said. “Urges that are not appropriate for unmarried ladies such as yourself.”
A small, muffled whine escaped from Lottie and you arched a brow, then batted your eyelashes, feigning complete innocence.
“What sort of urges?”
“My lady, they’re not—” he paused. “Not appropriate to think of.”
“Why not?” you asked but Lottie reached out to grab your arm with her free hand, then tugged at it.
“Thank you,” she said from behind her palm and pulled you to the other side of the shop near the door.
“Oh dear God I accidentally smelled it I think!”
“Lottie.”
“So did you!”
“Yes and nothing is going to happen—”
“Charlotte?” you heard a voice and you looked over your shoulder to see Anthony and Benedict by the door before they both stepped in. Anthony went straight to Charlotte and Benedict smiled at you, making your heart skip a beat before you nodded in his direction.
“What are you doing here?” you asked and Benedict motioned outside.
“We were just—Charlie, what are you doing?”
“We smelled a flower we weren’t supposed to.”
Anthony frowned. “What?”
“And now it’ll awaken certain urges.”
Benedict stared at her. “Charlie, what are you talking about?”
“The florist says unmarried ladies aren’t supposed to smell tuberoses and I accidentally smelled them,” she said, making you heave a sigh, looking up at the ceiling. “And so did Y/N!”
“Mine wasn’t accidental,” you deadpanned with a shrug of your shoulders and Benedict repressed a laugh.
“Really?”
“I’m still waiting for the explanation of what urges it will awaken,” you stated, looking around for the florist. “He was not done explaining, where is he?”
“Y/N,” Benedict said, his voice a playful warning and you grinned at him.
“What?” you asked. “I’m in terrible need of explanations.”
“You are in terrible need of taunting someone, more likely.”
“How dare you?” you asked, trying to adapt a solemn expression. “You’re trying to get in the way of true knowledge here, what would your beloved philosophers say—”
“I do not feel any different,” Lottie said, worry still etched in her tone as she lowered her hand and Anthony looked around, then grabbed a flower.
“There you go Charlotte,” he said. “Peonies. Your favorite.”
Charlotte took the red peony from him, a smile warming her face before she bit at her lip.
“You remembered!”
…Ah.
This was interesting.
The realization hit you so hard that it made your head snap up and you stared at them. Now it made sense why Anthony was so furious when he had approached you concerned about Charlotte after your engagement to Benedict. It made sense why he was so gentle around her, it made sense why Charlotte insisted he was the sweetest, it made sense—
He loved her, and she loved him, and you couldn’t tell if either of them was aware of it.
Everyone kept asking how Benedict hadn’t proposed to Charlotte in two years, what you wanted to know was how this idiot hadn’t proposed to her in those same two years.
You forced yourself to avert your gaze and cleared your throat.
“I cannot believe I’m not allowed to buy flowers because the florist is an idiot.”
“You don’t think it’s dangerous?”
“No,” you and Benedict said at the same time and Charlotte turned to you.
“And you’re not worried at all?”
“There’s nothing to worry about except for the lack of logic here,” you stated. “But then again, that’s not exactly uncommon in the ton, I’m getting used to it slowly like a frog in the hot water.”
Benedict’s smile was soft as a fond look crossed his eyes and you shifted your weight, then looked around.
“I’d better go,” you said. “Lottie?”
“Oh I’m coming of course,” she said. “I’ll see you both later.”
You and she walked out of the florist to make your way down the street and Lottie twirled the single peony between her fingers with a smile.
“Y/N?”
“Yes?”
“What do peonies symbolize?”
You stole a look at her. “Love and honor.”
“Oh,” she said quietly before inhaling the scent of the flower and you repressed a smile, then pulled her to the next shop.
By the time you returned to the house, you and Charlotte had spent at least three hours outside, first checking out the bookshop, then sitting at the teahouse. Spending time with her had put you in a better mood as usual, and you had almost forgotten about tonight’s ball until you passed through the door to your house and saw one of the maids carrying your coat for the night. You shook your head, making your way upstairs as you took the flowers into your hand and entered the drawing room.
“Pretty flowers for a pretty lady,” you said, making your aunt turn and her whole face lit up.
“Aw, Clover!” she said, taking them from you before kissing your cheek. “They are absolutely gorgeous my dear!”
You smiled back at her as she gave them to a maid for her to put them into a vase, then turned to you.
“I sent yours to your room.”
Your head shot up. “Hm?”
She winked at you. “Just go there and see.”
You pulled your brows together and walked out of the drawing room to make your way to your room, then opened the door to step inside but as soon as you saw what was on your desk, you stopped dead in your tracks.
Tuberoses.
You gawked at it before slowly approaching the bouquet in the vase, then leaned forward to take in the scent, your eyes fluttering close. A smile curled your lips as you opened your eyes, then tilted your head when the tiny envelope next to the vase caught your eye, so you reached out to open it and took out the small card.
I’d hate to get in the way of true knowledge.
Benedict.
A scoff of laughter escaped from you and you shook your head, then walked to fling yourself into your bed, painfully aware of the smile warming your face.
                                                *
The night hadn’t even started yet but you were more than ready to get back in the carriage and go home already. Nervousness was rushing through you and you desperately needed some fresh air before going into that chaos, so you took a look at the couple of people in the garden making their way to the big house, then turned to your aunt.
“Auntie, I uh…” you said. “Can I wait for Lottie first?”
“We can wait for her inside?”
“Well yes, but—” you cleared your throat. “After Whistledown’s article, people will ask me some questions about the betrothal, so I fear I won’t have the time to talk to her.”
She looked around. “Y/N, I’m not sure…”
“It’s a garden.”
“You’d still be alone.”
“Barely,” you said. “There are people here.”
“My dear, it’s night time and—”
“Lady Thorne,” Benedict’s voice reached you and you turned your head to see him, an inexplicable rush of relief washing over you for some reason. “Miss Y/N.”
“Mr. Bridgerton,” your aunt greeted him with a smile and glanced at you, heaving a sigh. “I suppose you can wait for Miss Harlowe here if Mr. Bridgerton is staying.”
You turned to look up at Benedict expectantly and he raised his brows.
“Yeah I can—I’m staying, definitely.”
You held your breath and motioned at him. “See, auntie? He’s staying.”
She thought for a moment, then clicked her tongue.
“Alright but,” she said, pointing at you two. “No going anywhere by yourselves.”
Benedict held up his hands, gesturing surrender and you shook your head fervently.
“Of course not.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it, Lady Thorne.”
“You’re staying right here in the garden, you hear me?”
“Yes, of course. Right here.”
“We’ll follow this road to the ballroom,” Benedict motioned at the stone road. “Won’t even step anywhere else.”
Your aunt narrowed her eyes at you two as if trying to see whether you two were lying, then shook her head.
“I will not be able to rest until you two are married,” she murmured and turned around, then made her way to the house.
“Thank you,” you said, watching her enter the house and Benedict waved a hand in the air.
“Don’t mention it,” he said. “What’s going on?”
“I needed some fresh air before throwing myself into that gladiator pit,” you grumbled but before Benedict could even answer, Lady Anna -one of the ladies you had met when you were presented to the queen- approached you with her mama.
“Mr. Bridgerton!” her mama said. “Miss Y/N! Congratulations on your betrothal.”
Benedict shot her that irresistible crooked grin of his and bowed while Lady Anna glared at you, and turned to smile at him.
“What a hasty engagement though,” she said. “Barely anyone knew you two were in courtship.”
“Oh I was under the impression that everyone did, my lady,” Benedict said. “Thanks to Lady Whistledown.”
She let out a giddy giggle and her mother turned to you.
“Any idea when the wedding will be?” she asked you and you reminded yourself to smile.
“In a month,” you said. “Approximately.”
“I cannot wait to hear the full story from you!” she said. “We will see you inside of course?”
“Of course,” Benedict said and Lady Anna dropped a curtsy, then followed her mama to the house while you let out a breath and looked up at him.
“Get me out of here right now.”
“Way ahead of you,” he muttered, looking around. “Do you see that corner? Far end of the garden?”
“It’s such a lovely garden by the way,” you pointed out as you glanced at the flowers. “Now that you mentioned it. That being said, I feel like their gardener should take a look at the—”
“Y/N, focus.”
“Right,” you said and cleared your throat. “Yes I can see that corner.”
“There’s a bench there, we can go there when that carriage passes by here. You first—”
“Are you serious?”
“Yes I am serious— go now!” he whispered as he pushed you gently, making you repress the laughter bubbling up in your chest. You moved in the same direction as the carriage, using it to shield yourself from anyone else’s gaze before you rushed to the far end of the garden. Just as Benedict said, there was a bench in the dark half covered by the tree over it and you sat down, running a hand over your eyes.
It took a couple of minutes but soon enough you heard the footsteps and Benedict entered your sight, shooting you that mischievous grin and your heart skipped a beat but you frowned at yourself, sitting up straighter.
“May I?” he motioned at the bench and you scooted over to the side.
“Sure.”
He sat beside you and you heaved a sigh, leaning back on your palms, keeping your gaze on the sky before stealing a look at him.
“Do you think we’re actually pushing our luck?”
Benedict raised his brows and shrugged his shoulders.
“Luck pushed us first,” he said. “And honestly what are they going to do? Marry us twice?”
A laugh climbed up your throat but you covered your mouth to muffle to sound, making him smile. You lowered your hand and took a deep breath, your stomach doing a pleasant flip.
“Thank you by the way,” you said. “For the flowers.”
“Of course,” he said, his blue eyes gleaming in the dim moonlight. “Let me guess, you were overtaken by uh… what was it? Desires—”
“Inappropriate urges.”
“Yeah those, you were overtaken by inappropriate urges the moment you smelled them?”
A giggle managed to escape from you this time and you nodded.
“Certainly,” you said. “Still couldn’t get myself out of this ball though.”
“It won’t be that bad.”
You shot him a look. “Yes it will. Didn’t you see them just now?”
“It’s just until another scandal breaks out,” he said. “It’s the social season, I doubt we’ll have to wait that long.”
You pressed your palms into your eyes until you saw shiny dots in the darkness, then lowered them again.
“They’ll keep asking questions and I don’t like…” you trailed off and rubbed at your wrist. “I don’t like telling people things. Lies or not.”
Benedict nodded his head. “Send them my way.”
You scoffed. “Benedict—”
“No I’m serious,” he said. “You don’t owe anyone anything, much less an explanation. If they want to hear about it that much, they can come ask me.”
You tried to ignore the small smile threatening to pull at your lips and turned your gaze to look up at the moon again, still rubbing at your wrist absentmindedly. A peaceful silence fell upon you, the soft night breeze caressing your face and you heaved a sigh.
“Y/N?”
“Hm?”
Benedict cleared his throat. “I um…I got you something.”
You turned your head to look at him and he offered you a soft smile before reaching inside his jacket to pull out a rectangular box. Your eyebrows furrowed as you pulled back slightly.
“What’s that?”
“A gift.”
You eyed the sleek box, your frown deepening before you shook your head.
“No you can keep it, I don’t have anything to give you back.”
Benedict blinked a couple of times.
“I didn’t get it for – that would make it a trade,” he said helpfully. “It’s a gift.”
Your question was nearly a demand. “Why?”
“Because I wanted to?” he said like he was asking you back. “I saw it and thought of you.”
You looked up from the box at him. “What do you want in return?”
“To repeat, that’s not how it—” he paused. “Has no one given you a gift before?”
You nibbled on your lip and shrugged your shoulders.
“Family,” you murmured and scoffed. “Some of them, that is.”
It’s a trick, a small voice in your said. He’ll want it back once you like it, as soon as he—
“I don’t want anything in return,” his voice cut through your thoughts and you tilted your head, your lips pulled into a pout.
“If you’re going to pull it back when I reach for it, I’ll leave.”
He stared at you for a moment as if he couldn’t tell whether you were jesting or not and he looked like he had a million of questions he wanted to ask, but in the end he decided otherwise.
“How about this?” he said. “I’ll just put it here. If you want you can open it, if not we can leave it here and go back to the ballroom.”
He placed the box between you and leaned back on the bench, crossing his arms as if he wanted to prove he wouldn’t make any sudden moves like pulling the box out of your reach. You hesitated for a second, then slowly reached out to take the box into your lap, then pulled at the ribbon and lifted the cover.
A breath left your lips as soon as you saw what was inside.
It was a pocket knife unlike any other you had seen so far. It was light, lighter than your current one and small figures of flowers were engraved on the handle, tiny rubies glimmering on silver. You flicked the knife, the blade coming out of its place instantly, and even in the dim light you could see just how sharp it looked before you pushed it back into its place, then turned to Benedict who was watching you with a soft look on his face.
“Thank you,” you said, unable to stop the smile on your face. “It’s very beautiful.”
He grinned at you. “I’m glad you like it.”
You pulled your pocket knife out of your cleavage before putting it beside you on the bench, then pushed your new knife into your cleavage, causing Benedict to instantly look up at the sky. You pursed your lips in order not to laugh, then slipped the silk skirt of your gown up your leg to tuck the old knife into your garter, painfully aware of Benedict stealing a look at you out of the corner of his eye. You fixed your skirts and turned to him to see him taking a deep breath, closing his eyes.
“Are you alright?”
“Mm hm,” he said, sounding a bit breathless for some reason and opened his eyes, then cleared his throat. “Yeah. Absolutely. Totally alright.”
A small spark ran down your spine and you arched a brow, tilting your head.
“Any inappropriate urges?”
“So many,” he said, his voice coming out like he was tormented and motioned around in a vague manner. “Tuberoses here somewhere.”
You bit down a smile, then got up from the bench and fixed your gown.
“Come on,” you said. “We should go back to the ballroom, I don’t want to be a part of yet another scandal.”
You stood on your tiptoes to take a look at the garden to see whether anyone would see you together when you walked in there but by some miracle it seemed empty enough. Judging by the music reaching even there, dancing had started already and probably everyone who was invited was already inside, dancing and socializing.
“Right,” Benedict said and stood up as well, then threw his shoulders back and offered you his arm. “To the gladiator’s pit we go then.”
“Should be interesting,” you murmured and placed your hand over his arm, that familiar warmth spreading through you and you took a shaky breath, then you both started walking to the house.
