the first time you subject soobin to this unique form of cuteness aggression, he's just a little confused. not really all that fluent in spanish despite his active attempts, he's taken by surprise when you grumble the words against his lips. first off, he's still catching up with the fact that you kissed him so suddenly. he had been sitting down on your shared couch before suddenly you were walking up to him and cupping his face into your hands, pressing multiple kisses to his plush lips before you said a few angry sounding words.

he's pretty sure that "heromoso" is one of the good words, but why say it so aggressively? you don't look upset at all, not when you're smiling against his lips.

"what was that all about?" he asks, looking up at you in amusement. he's confused but he can't help but grin, happy to have gotten attention and kisses.

"you're too fucking handsome," you sigh, releasing your boyfriend and plopping down on the cushion next to him. yeonjun laughs a cute, squeaky laugh before he's resting his head against your shoulder.

"you're upset cause you think I'm too hand—hermoso?" he teases, pressing a light kiss under your jaw that makes you giggle. yeonjun, ever pleased to hear as much praise from you as he can get, can't help but look awfully smug.

"mhm, pinche hermoso," you confirm, raising a hand up to his hair just so that you can ruffle it and hear him whine and complain.

soobin

unlike yeonjun, soobin's ears only process the curse word you just tossed out. he's probably playing video games or watching t.v., but the moment he processes what you're saying, his mind halts. his brows immediately furrow and he's pouting, because did you just curse at him?

he doesn't know why you're mad, cause you seem perfectly happy as you tug on his cheek and coo up at him. soon enough though, you notice his change in demeanor and tilt you head up in question.

"what's wrong?" you hum, moving your assault on his cheeks to his hands as you play with his long fingers. soobin stutters just a little, trying to ask his question without sounding painfully blunt but failing to formulate it any other way.

"did you just?? cuss me out??" he asks, eyes still wide and bunny lips still in a mini pout. he doesn't want to think too much about it, cause maybe he misheard the word? but he just wants to make sure that there's nothing to be worrying about :(

immediately reassure him; coo and promise that you didn't mean anything about it.

"I'm sorry that I hurt your feelings, just love you so much that it was starting to piss me off." you explain, pressing an apologetic kiss to his pout.

matches the vibe immediately. the moment you're giving him affection and he notices your smile and glint in your eyes, he's in your space just as much as you are in his.

almost isn't paying attention to what you're saying, only registering the feel of your hands pushing his bangs back so you can give him multiple uninterrupted kisses all over his face.

looks like the cat who got the cream even though all he's done is just sit there and be cute.

the only actual response you get from him is his startled yelp when you give in and gently bite his cheek.

"nope, that's enough!" he huffs, ignoring your petulant whines as he pushes your face back. "don't even know what you're saying, but I know that I don't deserve to die such a morbid death so young!" he defends, his other hand rubbing the tender flesh you bit.

you make it up to him by finally cuddling normally, to which you explain to him that you were just happy to have, "un novio tan pinche hermoso," and couldn't help but take it out on him.

laughs at the explanation, but just gives you a peck on the cheek and politely asks that you not abuse him just because he's pretty :') he may bite you back in retaliation when your guard is down.

taehyun

just watches you with his big, beautiful eyes as you come to lovingly verbally assault him. stops what he's doing to tilt his head up at you questioningly. he can pinpoint the fact that you're speaking spanish to him, but you're speaking very fast and your tone is contradicting to the words he's able to pick out.

when you're finally done with your grumbling, you lean in to give him a kiss. taehyun's relieved, reassured by the kiss that nothing's wrong. maybe you're just being playful. either way he's smiling with every cute peck you give him, even though he eventually giggles and leans away.

you take the moment to admire him. taehyun's boyishly pretty, with his sweet gaze and carefree grin. you love to see him smile, to hear his laugh and his purr/growl hybrid noises. the love you have for him is starting to build up and you can already feel yourself wanting to cuss him out again because of it.

taehyun, however, cuts you off by cozying back up next to you and resting his head on top of yours.

"te amo," he hums, catching you off guard.

"yeah?" you ask, feeling yourself melt into a puddle at his sure nod. although he may not be fluent, he at least knows this much spanish.

hueningkai knows a lot of languages, even if his members tease him often for never actually being fluent in many of them. english is difficult; everybody who's tried learning english as a secondary language already knows this. spanish is a different ball park all together.

with that being said, hueningkai is still kind of a genius, and he easily picks out the various loving-aggressive words you throw at him one day in the midst of your cuddling. one moment your hands are running softly through his hair, the next moment he's giggling in obvious delight as you pull on the skin of his cheeks.

he's nowhere near as stretchy as soobin, but he knows you don't care with how many times you call him handsome at the same time that you call him so goddamn annoying for being so goddamn handsome.

he doesn't mind it. he finds it pretty cute!

takes your affection and your aggression happily. if you end up squishing his face between your hands, he makes sure to do an extra pouty, extra obnoxious ducky lip to ask for kisses.

"you're hurting meee," he'd whine, squirming in place as if he was actually trying to get away.

"is that so?" you ask, placing another fat kiss on his cheek that prompts a high pitched squeal of both joy and disgust from your boyfriend.

I Became the Tyrant of a Defense Game

The MC of this novel is so fucking silly cause who tf names their kid Ash 'Born hater' Everblack? Like i'm being for real right now, his mom literally called him her 'little hater'. Love that

So, a Korean gamer who was streaming about this old strategy game on hardmode where if you fail once the game resets. The guy got isekaied the moment he finished the game on stream and right in the middle of the battle field too, tough luck hater.

Before we go more in depth about this story I would recommend that you read the novel version, the manhwa seems a little tacky and i've seen alot of readers complain that the manhwa makes everything look cheaper.

So, one of reasons why it made on to my reading list is because it was recommended by my guy friends who has great taste for this kinda genre. It drew him in because it used actual strategies that he would also use in his game instead of throwing around random lingo in hopes to cater to gamers. Like every battle was truly suspenseful and the author isn't afraid to show that every victory requires a sacrifice. Also I've seen people praise the character development of this novel, everyone starts out a little stereotypical and annoying but they get their own story arcs to shine.

Another thing i like is that this story is about the fight against the end of the world. Like i know alot of stories with that kind of premise but rarely do i ever feel the urgencey as strongly as i do with this story. The last stand against a sea of monsters waiting to consume the world and the young prince who's tasked with the question of remaining human or turning into a monster to save his world. I love me some classical fantasy

The problematic prince

If i'm being honest here i can think of at least 10 more manhwa crown princes who are even more problematic than the ML, especially that guy from the abandoned empress, yeah fuck you blueberry head.

So the story premise is the typical bad boy x good girl story trope. Our prince Bjorn keeps getting pestered by his ex wife whom he doesn't want contact with and our FL is being sold off to the highest bidder in society, shinnaigans happen and so the are married. That's the very shorten version of the plot

First thing that i noticed, the vibes. It gave off so much Edwardian, turn of the century energy that i adore. From the costuming to the city streets and the interactions between common people. Love it.

The author seems to have been blessed with amazing writing skills because oh my god did the writing style made me swoon. Erna, our FL, can be classified as one of those soft girl heroines but i feel like she's more than that. She knew what she had to do to keep her loved ones safe and always strived for better, she's not a cunning villainess nor a simpering coward. Erna never settled and kept enduring and trying new ways to connect with others around her even when she's being labelled as a home wrecker.

Also the nobilities and medias reaction to their marriage was incredibly realistic, i see alot of manhwas with rags to riches stories or men marrying women with horrendus reputations but never mention how powerful the influence of the peoples opinions. Here you can see that Bjorn and Erna's relationship, while rocky still holds strong, it seemed like they are truly in love and happy with their choices. Yet media still condemns her as a witch, a slut and a disgrace towards the royal family. It even lead to a attempt on Ernas life. Which shows you how easily the public can be whipped into a frenzy just because of a narritive that she is other woman.

If i even find the author of this manhwa i would like to make out with them and have their babies, cause this kind of genious deserves to be preserved.

Another thing that i loved about this story was it's sympathy towards the working class. The servants in this aren't the stereotypical happy go lucky loyal maids that you see in manhwas, they also aren't evil back stabbing people either. They know that their lives are worthless when it comes to the upper classes so they do all that they can to survive and to protect their loved ones. And i respect that as hell, even if it made them do less than savory things.

Also i recently learned that the author, Tutu-nim, wrote and drew this manhwa on their own. A true girlboss

Run away with me, girl

Remember all those times you said that you can be a better husband for the FL? Well this is a lesbian romance based on that premise.

It's a bittersweet romance story about two girls who were high school friends meeting each other after 10 years. Maki, who is till doing her graduate courses while living with her mom and lamenting her loneliness, while Midori is engaged and pregnant and living that perfect, normal life she wanted. Of course everything is not as it seems, and that's what the author wanted to explore in the coming chapters of the story

It's a short read, about 16? 17? chapters. But the author manages to do so much in that short amount of time. Every character felt so real and complicated. At first when you see Midori and the way that she treated Maki after their reunion, it's not hard to come to the conclusion that Midori is just playing around with Makis feelings. Especially with the way that she flirts and then reminds Maki of her engagement to her boyfriend.

This manga has the most realistic, hut wrenching potrayals of abuse, love and hate i've seen in a while. And if i'm being honest there is a high chance i would do the same if i was stuck in their situation.

Danny Phantom but make him a circus/freakshow attraction headcanons

Maybe he was sold maybe he was captured. Danny couldn't quite remember threw the pain. The lab accident felt like decades ago but time goes slow when your hurting

The blood blossoms were always underfoot. The cage was small his muzzle tight and he was hungry.

So so hungry

Still he didn't look forward to his preformances to the gawking masked people or the salt circle his cage would be placed in or turning from boy to ghost for entertainments sake.

The first time he tried to escape when his box was opened.

That of course only made his capturer mad and earned him more blood blooms.

Dick hated places like this. Cruel hurtful places sullying the name of the circus. Maybe that's why he jumped at the chance to help spy on the freakshow that had recently come to town despite Bruce's worried expression. It wasn't hard to convince Bruce to let him go though. He knew circus lingo better than anyone else in the family after all. Sure his slang MAY be a little outdated but it didn't matter too much for just a few nights.

Dick has seen some horrible things and stayed pretty lighthearted, but because the circus is so sacred to him I think he takes this mission very seriously.

In the end it's him Bruce on the mission.

It wasn't hard to locate where the metas and "freaks" were being kept.

He entered the tent and between a man labeled "the cannibal" and Killer Croc who somehow got dragged into this, there was a young man in a muzzle kneeling on what looked like flowers.

Something about his eyes made him look almost haunted.

He moved on to the next row taking note of every poor soul there.

He was going to get them free.

Sure Bruce didn't like metas, but he wasn't heartless. It didn't take long for him to divide the staff into the willing and unwilling participants. It took him even less time to tie up the willing workers and to call in the Gotham police department.

When batman went to talk to the victims one stood out to him. The boy was muzzled his eyes rapidly switching from blue to green.

He couldn't have been older than Jason.

No one else there was muzzled.

He wondered briefly what made him so dangerous.

The question nagged at him as he asked person after person how they got here.

The young man, Danny apparently, didn't seam to remember much outside of the circus though. Where some of the more recently "aquired" captives remembered the older ones didnt

He could only imagine it was trauma holding them back.

Because this place was all he could remember, Danny didn't know what he wanted to do after he was free besides get far far away.

Bruce asked him no more questions.

General headcanons:

Danny is still sassy in this au but he's also bitter.

He doesn't talk much at first cause he's not used to it cause of the muzzle.

It takes quite a while for him to become more like his own self.

Sits on top of Wayne manor staring at the stars he doesn't remember why though.

He has "sad eyes" as babs and steph phrased it.

Bruce didn't mean to keep danny. He's basically a foster fail.

He will never here the end of such from Alfred.

Talking about Alfred he handles the new addition just fine

Danny is kinda a foil to Dick. Where Dick is cheerful, Danny is jaded

They get along ok weirdly enough.

Jason swore when he first saw Danny.

"Bruce you got another damn kid"

Offers to take him away from Bruce if ever needed. Offer always stands.

Tim doesn't notice the ghost boy for about a week. He was just too sleep deprived.

When he did he assumed danny was a sleep deprivation hallucination

Now he doesn't know how to approach him so he treats him like he's always been there.

Cass understands Danny.

The silence between them is comfortable and amicable

Damian is Damian.

He isn't sure what to think so at first he comes of as aggressive.

That stands until he sees Danny in a fight for the first time.

Now he only wonders now this meta who can turn invisible and fly got caught.

That's an adorable idea! I've actually given it some thought when imagining an "Afterlife" AU with Jack and my MC, May-Rose, who's a goth woman.

Forwarning - a ramble:

They have a kid named Jody. I always imagined him as a sweet but sensitive young boy whom Jack dotes on and May adores... in her own way. She's pretty much the "fun" parent, pulling pranks on Jody and scaring him. Jack has to get her to let up because he's genuinely scared to be around her most times as a little kid.

She learns to express her feelings in a less abrasive manner and as something that opens Jody up to her. He gains an interest in her hobbies - arts and crafts mostly - and it translates into his teen years of him basically going through an artsy emo phase. He's a happy kid! Just overall a bit weird, earthy, and oddly lackadaisical about death considering his father...

Anyway, in a sense that the kid of Jack and a general MC is just going through a rebellious phase, I feel like Jack would be surprised, but dote on them nonetheless. He'd go out and buy things to fit their aesthetic and their current interests, encouraging them to try new things.

He might have to helicopter parent a liiiittle bit, as he doesn't know a lot about modern music, fashion, or lingo. But he just wants them to be safe and not consume anything that would lead to a harmful mindset. He'll always be there for them. And if they feel like they're being stifled in some way, they can always come forth with the issue.

Aemond stirred his coffee, "Alys is at her most dangerous when she doesn't see what's clearly staring her in the face. She thinks if my only options are to go back to her or to lose everything I love, I will go back to her." His jaw tightened, and his eyes narrowed. "And that is where the bitch is wrong."

The elevator bell rang and Gendry stepped out, holding hands with a young woman who carried herself as if she were far taller than the five feet you guessed she was at. "Hey all."

"Lord of Storm's End," Aemond said, one corner of his mouth lifting. "And the Lady of Storm's End, of course."

"Arya will do," the young woman said, embracing Aemond, "Your Highness," she smiled as she looked up at him. She turned to you, "hi, I fucking hate Alys Rivers, let's unalive her, shall we?"

You couldn't help but smile as Arya pulled you into a hug. She was tiny, but the power in her muscles was undeniable.

"Unalive?"

Gendry hugged you, then turned to Aemond. "She's gone all Gen Z with the lingo. You should have seen her in the 80s."

Arya leaned in to whisper at you. "The 80s were amazing. My hair caught fire once because I had so much Aqua Net in it."

You watched Gendry close his eyes and sigh, but his mouth was still curved in a gentle smile.

"Choose whatever guest room you want, make yourselves comfortable while you're here."

"These are stunning," Arya said, rushing to the windows. When she saw that you had followed her and were looking out at your burned down shop, she pressed her lips together. "I'm sorry."

"Me too," you said quietly. "But no one was hurt, which is good."

Arya smiled. "Well, we'll make sure someone gets hurt in the end," she said, and then turned with a flourish to inspect the rest of the place.

Aemond came up behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist. "If you're at all unsure-"

You turned in his arms. "I am not. I know what I want." Raising a hand to his face, you pressed your lips to his. "I want you, I want us."

He wrapped a hand around the back of your neck, "good. Because I want us, too, and loving you is not something I want to do for a few years or even a few decades. I want to love you for eternity."

"Why me?"

Aemond looked over, saw her sipping at her coffee as she studied him.

"What?"

She smiled, that gentle smile he saw whenever he thought of her. "Why me? I'm sure you've met more beautiful, more clever, more-"

"Because you saw me for me," he replied, putting down his coffee and walking across his office to where she sat on the sofa. He'd insisted on having breakfast there, not just so he could work while he had his morning meal, but so they wouldn't be always looking over at the burned down coffee shop.

The rebuild had started in a very basic way, until she decided what she wanted in more detail. But he caught the grief in her face whenever she looked at it and had decided to spend more time in his office.

"I wanted you, yes, but I have wanted others over the decades, and they were not what you were. What you are."

"Which is?"

"You understand me."

"I understand a centuries-old Targaryen prince who is a vampire," she said, eyebrows raised.

Aemond smiled and sat next to her. "You didn't know that when you met me. When you befriended me. When you came to me after that bastard dared try to hurt you." He took her hand in his, kissed the back. "You were drawn to me, not any of the things that I am, or was."

"If I don't make it-"

"Don't say that." Aemond's hands tightened on hers.

"Listen to me, please." She looked at him, "I want you to sell the land where the shop is, and split it between Katie and Bailey. They were counting on-"

Aemond grabbed her shoulders. "This is why Gendry and Arya are here, why we're starting tonight."

"I know. But I also know that you've all lived through things I can't imagine, and that Alys is determined. And she has people working for her."

"Fine," Aemond said. "But we will prevail, when all is said and done. And Alys will lose."

He kissed her, and she wrapped your arms around him, knowing he didn't want to speak of this any more. The possibility of everything going badly was there, but for now, he would only entertain life as the outcome.

She had always understood him, even from that first day, when she had no idea what she was welcoming in to her shop. When she rushed to him amidst the policemen, unaware he would have taken her on the floor if need be, and he would have drank from her.

But the more she knew, the more she accepted, and his desire began to turn into something he hadn't felt in a long time.

And he would not let anything or anyone take that away.

He'd dressed in his usual greys and blacks, and with Gendry and Arya wearing similarly hued outfits, you felt like a peacock in your blue sweater and the green scarf you had around your neck.

Arya had immediately fought Aemond for the chair with the best view of all the exits, and he'd given in, as long as he sat next to you.

After dinner, you were enjoying some drinks when you brought up a short vacation. "Why don't we do that, then? Get away for a while."

"I have work," Aemond snapped. "You know, the thing that keeps us fed and housed."

You considered his words, "I know, but going to Dorne for a couple of months wouldn't be bad. Leave all this behind, maybe get some inspiration for-"

"Leave all this behind," Aemond interrupted, "you mean my life, my work?" he threw back the rest of his whiskey, placed the glass back on the table with a loud thump.

"Aemond, I wasn't saying-"

"Maybe we should get the bill," Arya said, signaling to Gendry. "Call it a night."

"No, I want to clear things up," Aemond continued, and you shrank back into your chair. "You want me to leave everything behind so you can get inspiration? I've paid your employees' wages for six months, I'm putting my best people in charge of renovations, so you can continue your little fantasy of owning a coffee shop."

"Aemond." You touched his arm and he pulled away.

"You were barely breaking even, baby. The selling points were that the shop was nearby, open and available." He laughed then, a nasty sound full of bitterness. "Much like its owner."

Your hand had struck his cheek before you'd realized it, and you stood, the world around you going still.

"You fucking asshole," Arya spat, throwing her water at Aemond's face. "Let's go, Gendry," she said, and when Gendry didn't move, she threw her napkin at his. "Well, fuck you, too, then!"

She grabbed your hand while you and Aemond stared at each other, and pulled you until your feet began to move. You followed her, your blood pounding in your ears, and a few minutes later, you were leaving the area in a cab she'd hailed.

"That was harsh," Gendry said later as he and Aemond sat at a nearby bar.

"Maybe," Aemond muttered, twirling the shot glass in his fingers, "but true. You don't know her very well but whatever we had wasn't going to anywhere." He signaled to the bartender for another one. "She is what she is, and as badly as I feel for her, I'm not going to stay with her out of guilt."

Gendry tapped his fingers on the table. "Is that all there is between you?"

Aemond shrugged. "I feel responsible, I mean, her shop didn't burn down because of faulty electrics. It's been fun. It's always fun at the beginning." He stared at his shot glass as if he could find all the answers to his inner turmoil in the carved glass. "But before she gets any ideas about spending the rest of her life with me, maybe it's better to just be honest with one another."

Gendry's tapping continued, and Aemond gave him a look. "I heard there's a new bar down the street."

"Count me in," said Gendry as he settled the tab on the table screen. "All I know is that I am not setting foot in Bar-A-Theon. This generation's fucking desperate," he mumbled as Aemond smiled.

"That's what you get when one of yours marries a Greyjoy."

There were few people on the street, Aemond noticed as they walked the couple of blocks to the next bar, as well as others who weren't quite people.

"One, three, six," Gendry said in High Valyrian, and Aemond looked at him.

"One?"

Gendry pretended to look at his phone, "blue cap, bomber jacket."

"Ah."

"Good thing you have me, innit?"

"It's always good to see you, Gendry."

Sometimes I wonder how intentional the neurodivergent coding of certain Yakuza characters is.

With Kiryu I don't think it was intentional at first. I think he started as a stone-faced guy who was also just a little clueless (Because that's a pretty silly juxtaposition, writing-wise), but I've noticed as the series progresses there's little quirks or jokes that seem to intentionally code him as autistic-- and not in a mean way (which I love).

Like. When you're talking to one of the hostesses in the cabaret minigame in K2, she mentions wanting to be a mangaka, and Kiryu offers to help.

If you select the 'be an expression model' option Kiryu 'auditions' by making little noises for the different emotions he's trying to do and it's really obvious that he's not really changing his face much. Because he's just not an expressive guy. Because he's autistic!!!

There's the pizza substory from 0 which if you know, you know (and if you don't know, here you go).

If you select all the wrong answers in the producer substory (also in 0), the entire scene feels like an autistic person trying to understand obtuse industry lingo and everyone else getting angry at him for not speaking this hidden language (a reality for many autistic people).

And there's countless other examples that I can't name off the top of my head, but trust me, they're there.

And then there's Ichiban who is so ADHD it brings me joy. And I would just chalk his behaviors to just being a juxtaposition to Kiryu (Ichi's big, loud, and intense while Kiryu's quiet, reserved, and keeps to himself), but there are so many little things that are way too specific for me to ignore.

Firstly, when Ichi wants something he wants it NOW. The Peking Duck scene with Arakawa comes to mind, but also, when he's trying to get Masato’s 'girlfriend' to come to their table, and he resorts to like. Shouting at the guy after her client's like. "Nah. I'm talking to her for a bit." He's feelin' his feelings and good god are those feelings intense.

He seems to struggle with working memory issues such as the scene where he's talking about being Masato's caretaker and then Jo calls him like, immediately after, goes 'hey, you were supposed to take the young master out tonight' and Ichi's like 'oh my god? It completely slipped my mind!'

Ichiban's super creative and clever, but that out-of-the-box thinking is occasionally hampered by him missing little details. Like when he just takes a civilian's wallet, instead of the money they owed because 'Jo only said to bring back the wallet'. But then when he tries to use the money Masato gave him, it doesn't occur to him to take off the band indicating that the money came from Masato’s bank.

He's also pretty impulsive!! The scene where he jumps right into the Korean Mafia's line of fire is a big standout. He literally thought of the first thing that came to mind and did it.

There's also him gameifying his entire life. This example could be argued to be more of an autistic trait (especially the turn-based combat aspect), but ADHDers can also have those super intense interests that you never quite let go of. And gamification of certain tasks is often recommended for ADHDers.

and then there's so many small things that I can't quite explain that just stand out as ADHD behavior.

I honestly don't think Ichiban was ever written to be neurotypical. His character just feels so, authentically ADHD in such a kind way that just can't be accidental.

Although there could've been a writer who was just 'basing Ichiban off their own experiences' and 'their own experiences' just happened to be ADHD. I wouldn't know anything about that.

One more character before I go: Majima's actions in 0 (specifically throwing away the bag of murder goodies Lee gave him) makes way more sense if he has ADHD. He's got this bag of shit he does not want and he needs to get rid of it now. He was feelin' his feelings, okay?!

TW: comparison to suicide

Will's arc is an ingenious one, really, because I talk a lot about it in relation to his queerness but that's more of a sub-arc to relate to the greater show's theme. His arc makes complete sense and no sense at all at the same time. And it is a perfect bookend. And it is dramatic irony.

To me, Will's character is written into the show as someone who is so loved that it tears a hole in the universe, to put it simply. We are introduced to him for a moment but throughout season 1 he is characterized to us by how everyone around him falls apart at his loss.

And he doesn't know it. Not really. He sees himself as a mistake. And some people sometimes make him feel better, but to say that someone makes you feel like less of a mistake is also to say that feeling like a mistake is your baseline.

If I wanted to go into the suicide allegory in relation to his long-term targeting by Vecna, I could even argue for the idea of a young boy, hated by nearly everyone, attacked by Henry - or suicidal - hanging on for a week after the attempt by hiding in nostalgia and childhood joy all while we watch just how deeply his loved ones are impacted by his loss as they fight to get him back. And it works. And he knows how hard they worked. But he still didn't see it in the same way we did. And he's feeling symptoms again after the event. He's open about some, but others he's more hesitant with. He is vocal with his mother about being resistant to treatment. He's scared of his own mind, fighting for his life. He's isolated - mentally, by Henry - and this isolation causes his symptoms to worsen rapidly. But he fights and he fights hard. And what ultimately saves him is his loved ones coming together and demonstrating directly to him their love for him, breaking through his shielded perception and getting through to him that they love him just that much. Then his life is back to normal again for a bit. Except not quite. He can still feel an echo of what he felt again every now and then - a chill. A signal that it isn't completely over. And his loved ones still love him but that message hasn't been maintained. Some days are like they were before everything but some days he's brushed off, building to the point of downright rejection upon confrontation. And after that, he knows definitively that it's back. And someone else is hurting by it too, and everyone banding together to help that person really helps to put the group back to how they were all together and mend that rejection a bit too. But they can't save the person like they could Will. They get close, reminding him of that same childhood joy to hide in. But there isn't any around him now, so it's not quite enough. And he moves away, hoping a change of scenery will help. And it does. He isn't bullied at his new school. His family is financially secure. He doesn't feel that looming feeling he did. He misses his friends and he's upset about things like that, but he doesn't have that looming feeling anymore. Horrible things happen he doesn't stand down and even those moments don't bring the feeling back and they band together and they go to fight them. And things get really fucking heartbreaking honestly but like fifteen-year-old-normal-kid heartbreaking. And other people are going through it again too. And they can't save most and they're late for one but they're able to bring her back. But she's not fully back. And with everything happening, the town is getting worse and worse. And he's back in that town. And he feels it again.

And I'd say this is a safe bet of an analysis based on Noah Schnapp pictured in a harness, likely for a Vecna attack, and Vecna attacks being suicidal-allegory in nature. In Stranger Things lingo, he's been targeted by Vecna from the beginning and he'll likely be attacked more specifically than any of the others in season 4, maybe more like Nancy or with a more personal dialogue like El.

But in real-world representation, he's a kid who was attacked by his town, it broke him down, and he's not the only one. Time and time again it is emphasized in our faces the way a close-minded town encourages or turns a blind eye to abuse, abuse of children who die under that weight when they have no other support.

''I'm a star'' - Wish

This is a part to my previous post. You don't have to watch the previous and the upcoming post to understand this one. I'm making a post about each song from the movie Wish and going into detail as to why I think they're ''not good'' to say the least. I'm not saying that singer or the music is terrible. I'm focusing on everything wrong with the lyrics. If you're able to enjoy a song because it sounds nice that's fine. But because Wish is a musical the purpose of a song is to help tell the story. Of the lyrics are confusing and contradicting the plot will suffer.

1. Valentino is contradicting himself. One moment he sings that he knew the entire time and joins in explaining that we're all stars but there are moments when he's as confused as Asha.

2. A butt joke + Lion King reference.

3. Those are North American/USA native animals and with how small the island is I'm not sure it would be able to house so many animals. It's a callback to how in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs animators used animals they knew, like racoons. Even tho they shouldn't be in Europe, especially when Americas haven't been discovered yet.

4. They want to superficially be ''like the movies from the past'' but it actually shows how out of touch those filmmakers are that they don't know what made those classic movies special. Animals who fallowed Snow White, Cinderella and Aurora were their friends because they were so kind. Are those animals Asha's friends or just random animals that decided to sing exposition at her?

5. I also hate ''Get that through your system!'' ''Solar!''. It doesn't work! It's a ''solar system'' not ''system solar''! He should have interrupted earlier. Yet again, modern talk and trying to sound cool. How do those animals know so much about space and have modern scientific lingo for it?

6. ''And If you just see the mushrooms than you'll understand'' What does that mean? That we need to look to nature for answers? Is Asha high? Those mushrooms are creepy!

7. ''We eat the leaves and they eat the Sun'' (While showing the Moon because the song is at night. I guess the Moon is reflecting Sun's light but it's still contrived.) It's too confusing for small children and too simplistic for adults (or rather anyone who is knowledgeable about space and biology). Mice aren't little pure vegetarians. ''They eat the Sun'' because photosynthesis. I get what the song is trying to say but it's so clunky.

8. Just awkward things that are supposed to be funny. A bear with a gay lisp going ''YeaS''. That one stupid/high dear the goes ''You're a star.'' I understand using different voices for differentiate characters to show their characters and emotions but it doesn't work because it's the first time we see those characters, so it comes out of nowhere. Compare it to how different soldiers sang in ''I'll make a man out of you''.

9. ''If I'm explaining it poorly, I'll let Star do it for me'' again it's like ''It's unlikely that you'll be unhappy''. What's with the lack of confidence in their writing!?! It's as if the writers know this song doesn't explain anything.

10. Also, in a good song ''I'll let Star do it for me'' would be a transition into the Star singing but because Star is mute and can only use sound effects she doesn't sing. What's the point? Star doesn't explain anything!

I have a theory. A FILM THEORY!

For those who don't know, in an early concept art, Star was supposed to be a boy. But not any average boy able to talk. He was supposed to be shapeshifting spirit and a young version of Ash's grandfather. They supposedly changed him from a boy into a star from Mario because he resembled genie too much.

That explains the weirdness of the song. It was probably supposed to be him shapeshifting, making voices and that's why the animals know so much about space. It was supposed to be him singing. And after ''Let the Star do it for me'' he would star singing.

But I think that change goes deeper than that. He so clearly was changed from a human to a literal star so it can be another cute marketable thing besides Valentino. They can't say it outright so they make excuses. They could've made him mute, use sound effects and body language.

I think they also changed star from a boy into a cute sidekick, so people wouldn't think it's a romance movie because . . . sexism. I understand not all stories need a romance plot or subplot but it has been over 10 years since the last romance in Frozen and even longer since a good romance in Tangled.

One other reason I think they changed star from Asha's grandpa spirit into a cute sidekick because it was supposed to be a twist. And Disney learning the wrong lesson decided that ''twists are bad''. Completely omitting that the bad writing is the problem.

Also, we know internet. If the trailer dropped showing some cute and emotional moments between Asha and Star (her young grandfather) without reviling they're actually related because that would spoil the twist, people would start shipping them. And then the twist would come out. That would be awkward to say the least.

QUESTION: Why are Japanese fans saying that 🟥🟩 aren't blood related in the 1993 version of the movie?

ANSWER: In the finished movie, 🟩 says that he doesn't know "who" his parents were: this was picked up by the official Twitter for the Japanese 4k remaster, which describes him as being an orphan who was taken in by 🟥. But they also call each other brothers throughout, and 🟥 at one point says "I'd high five you, but then you'd be an only child."

SOLUTION: Both of these lines originate in the "Disney Princess" version of the script, but the phrasing is much clearer there, with 🟩 immediately calling 🟥 his brother.

It's also made much clearer in this script that they do share the same parents. So the weird "don't know who" phrasing stuck around through numerous revisions and wound up in the final version of the movie, but anything that would have clarified the situation to the Japanese translators got cut.

"Disney Princess" is also the version of the script that implies 🟥's name is actually Mar1o Mar1o Mar1o the fourth.

QUESTION: Does 🟥 fuck?

ANSWER: The "Ghostbusters" script establishes that he does; every treatment up until the "Disney Princess" script keeps this trait.

However, in "Disney Princess", he's saving himself for marriage. Or maybe just a Nevernude.

Then in the "Rainbow" rewrites he starts fucking again.

QUESTION: Why does 🟥 cheat on his girlfriend so eagerly in the movie?

ANSWER: Bertha is fully introduced into the story in the "Disney Princess" script; there 🟥 thinks she’s going to force a kiss on him in exchange for saving them, and it’s presented as threatening and unwanted. But then when she offers to help for free he gives her a kiss in excitement.

This basic idea first appeared in the original "Wizards and Shit Wizard of Oz" script, in which 🟥 gets assaulted by an ugly hag who forcibly kisses him, and then later turns into a hot young lady who he's fixin' to marry in the final scene. It’s the 1990s and this is hilarious family fun, baby!!!

The "Disney Princess" script defuses his quick kiss with Bertha like this ⬆️, and has him propose to his girlfriend Daniella, then marry her at the end.

However, in the final version of the movie, 🟥 doesn’t just get carried away for a second; he walks up to Bertha and is clearly absolutely jazzed both before and after the kiss. Then when Daisy mentions Daniella a minute later, he goes “Daniella!!” and for a split second it plays as if he forgot he had a girlfriend. So yeah, he doesn’t come off great.

QUESTION: How old are they in the movie?

ANSWER: It's not in any of the dialogue, but the "Disney Princess" script says they're 35 and 22, and that’s repeated in a couple of the later versions.

Question: What’s up with 🟥🟩’s interior decorating?

Answer: You didn’t really ask this, but I’d like to share it anyway. A couple of the scripts mention that their apartment has old people furniture because they haven’t really redecorated since their parents died.

Question: What does the line “Strap your bone on, kid” mean?

Answer: In context, he’s talking about their tool belts. This exact same line is actually in the “Rainbow” script rewrites as “Strap your tool belt on”. Apparently at some point during filming, someone decided that “bone” was secret plumber lingo. We'd need to conduct extensive interviews to find out who thought this and why.

I'm so excited a discussion about Zenos is happening! I've submitted Y'shtola and I think Arendvald was maybe me too, been meaning to type out one for Thancred, Raubahn, and possibly a couple others, too. I love FFXIV so much, is major special interest.

[SPOILERS AHEAD FOR ANYONE NOT DONE WITH FFXIV MSQ AND INTENDING TO PLAY IT] So, to add some context to Zenos! He's a villain that stands out from the rest, and the player character (WoL from hereon) is the only person he truly wants to fight. He is canonically extremely gifted, and it's both as something that makes him super deadly and one of a few factors playing into how he has absolutely no pleasure from anything in life. Except fighting people that really do pose a challenge to him, which is like... the WoL. That's the end of that list. He's the son of a ruler in an authoritorian fascist empire (Garleans), with highly rigid and cold regimes and practices and extremely large differences in power across their vast power hierarchy.

He is cold, indifferent, ruthless, and extremely dangerous. But he doesn't kill aimlessly either, it gives him no joy, and he doesn't wish to spent time on unworthy targets that wouldn't challenge him in the slightest. He canonically is miserable in life, always been an outsider, always felt alien to his society. He finds everything boring, and he despises boring. He's got lines of dialogue saying nothing makes him feel anything at all, except when he's almost killed in battle by the WoL. So he keeps seeking out the WoL, teasing and egging on to try and get that rush again.

Canon factors that cause this: - Childhood without parental attachments, because his mother died and his father was emotionally, socially, and physically distant - Forced to train and behave as an adult from an unreasonably young age, in a highly formal and structured environment without room for being a child - His giftedness, described in ways similar to real life gifted child experiences and complications - Chronic boredom and lack of emotion, described in ways similar to understimulation and flat affect - Lack of any attachments or interest in social relations of any kind, described in ways similar to antisocial personality characteristics, where he both cannot socially connect and doesn't care

I'm not sure if canon directly talks about his apparent lack of empathy using words or phrases that align with the concept of empathy, but several other characters express disgust and anger at how he shows no empathy or remorse. Aka it is heavily implied he does not have emotional empathy, and does not care about the cognitive empathy he does have. He says in different ways at many points in time that he doesn't enjoy this existence, he doesn't wish for this. He even had a nearly successful suicide attempt. He is functionally isolated and totally excluded from society, and in practice can't or won't or both do anything other than look for the next way to try and feel something.

The game generally doesn't use terms for health and illness as we know them, but if I were to try and translate the terms and phrasings and tellings they do use about Zenos, I'd no doubt say he has a severe attachment disorder which with his giftedness creates a very skilled but very dysfunctional person. His giftedness for both intellect and learning and combat is a blessing and a curse. Then, if we're going more into harder to translate from in-world lingo to our-world lingo territory, he does have a variety of traits that align with antisocial personality disorder as well as dysthymia.

Overall he is a villain that portrays a lot of contrasts and conflicts in function talked about regarding 2e / twice exceptional people and who is both an absolutely ruthless one man army monster and also just alone, miserable, empty, and without any pleasure from anything in life, where a lot of it is likely caused by the circumstances of his childhood.

I think modern Louis still speaks like someone from a different time though, he doesn't use modern slang/references the way Daniel often does (even though he's an old man) so I think he's still relating the story using the language he is familiar with. The "sanctioned" part is because he wasn't going to compromise on the blood diet and in doing so is not giving Lestat his patriarchal privileges in the bedroom. He later calls it an agreement to Jonah but later he sees that its absolutely not after Lestat flips out on him and by the end of the episode he's walking out on him cause they can't get on the same page about anything. Yes there's conflicting sentiments in what he's saying but it's also cause the situation is so jumbled and you could also argue that Lestat has the same issue when he differentiates their cheating with Louis having feelings for Jonah, even though that was never prohibitive in their agreement?

well daniel is a mere 69-70 to louis’s 144-145 n danny work/ed in mass media so being in tune w current lingo / trends is a near req for his job. i think modern louis use of language is purposeful: when u think of the titular interview with the vampire, we have our own cultural perceptions, and to a certain extent, the ricean vampire is a relic of its time that is as stubborn as it is adaptive. they pick and choose what about the present they like, and maintain past patterns convenient for their purpose. so yes, louis may genuinely be out of trend but i like to think its also purposeful. he wants to be like that. louis is extremely familiar with literary conventions and archetypes. the interview itself is a rhetorical device, and louis is purposeful in the story he wants to tell in 2022 to the point of burning the 70s tapes even. thats not ethical louie lou lol. the introduction of the concept of vampire to the gp as an eternal creature purposefully discomfits the modern observer, reminds the modern viewer of its alien ways with its selectively archaic use of language. louis's power is his use of language. i think that was the point of the person's original post in discussing the contradictory use of language in the phrase "sanctioned infidelity” along w their other examples. agree that the semantics of sanctioned infidelity aside the actual situation in that moment for les x lou in the 1910s-20s is clearly one-way like u said it is not reciprocal at all bc louis is the wife/pursued party in this dynamic, and the anger from lestat is bc jonah is a tether to humanity. jonah & louis were both black gay men in the deep south, and knew eachother since they was young. even tho jonah was clearly leaving the city not long after to go back to the warfront & imo the only person 1910s lou could even think of or would try to be with outside of lestat, all these things, lestat is also a paranoid hypocrite scared of being abandoned nd cannot delineate louis's past feelings from the present. multiple things can be true ykwimmm. this is my catchphrase w my anons soz

Frisk is similar in demeanor to kris. They are currently deceased and show up in a demon form. Not entirely evil but also will do bad things because they can. Carries around a knife. Manipulative. Hates humanity.

Swap Papyrus and Sans

Papyrus is a lazy goofball who like pranks and practical jokes. Gets annoyed when people don't laugh at his comedy. Uses complicated attack patterns. Instead of drinking Ketchup he smokes churros from Muffet's cafe. Speaks in all lowercase. Sells Pizza.

Sans comic book fan and superhero Boner Breaker. Kinda annoying and a huge dork. Has weak stats and doesn't even have KR but does have the weird fram rate gimmick. Cooks burritos. His puzzles are more comedic and comi-booky. All caps. MYEHAHAHA.

Monster Kid is named Lerias Dreemurr but goes by MK or MP (Monster Kid and Monster Prince). The adopted child of the Dreemurrs. Lost their family at a young age. Friendly. No arms. In their God of Hyperdeath form the grow arms instead of wings (in the second form they're wyvern wings). They just don't want to say goodbye.

Asriel is the Dreemurrs youngest being born only a few days before his siblings tragic deaths. His mother lied to him and told him his father left because he couldn't handle the stress of a child and also never told him that he had siblings. After he found out the truth about her killing humans and the real reason his dad left he ran away to Snowdin, changed his name to Goat Kid, and wears a poncho to hide his arms (that he refuses to use) to honor his deceased sibling Monster Kid. Is that too deep for a swap universe?

He pouted a little at what you said, "is it bad?"

"Not really.." you pulled back and took another look at him, "you're getting old~"

"I can't deny that I am," he sighed a little, "I'm already 30."

"You're still handsome though," you spoke your thoughts out aloud too quickly, and you both looked at each other for a moment.

Nozel's lips curled into a smile as you felt heat spreading across your cheeks.

"thank you," he stroked your hair, thinking about how cute you are, "but I guess I'll ask the servants to prepare collagen more often now."

You shook your head, realising that it still bothered your husband to be called old.

"You'll be a DILF when you're old, dearest." you winked at him playfully.

His cheeks reddened as a choked a little on his saliva at what he heard.

"You know what's a dilf..?" you were genuinely surprised.

"Yes, I do, honey. It is very unbeco-"

"becoming of a royal~" you finished his sentence for him, rolling your eyes. "how should I put it then, 'a father that I would love to get intimate with' ?"

Nozel chuckled, putting his book down on his bedside table and pulling you in, "since you asked nicely.."

He turned off the lights with his magic.

Back in 2015, people didn't assume you were trans or non-binary if you used They. It was common even on tumblr as more of a political statement, another "I don't like to label myself" type of thing.

Gerard definitely understands trans terminology, he's spoken knowledgably about it before, but I doubt he realizes how label-happy a lot of people (teens mainly) have gotten with it. A lot has changed since 2015.

I mean, I was on Tumblr in 2015 and definitely started using "they" because I was nonbinary, and I recall most of the they/thems in my circle were doing it for personal gender reasons. But I don't disagree that Gerard might have started using they/them as a political statement. (Though that NYT article where he gets asked if he made Peni Parker a girl as a political statement and responds by saying he just identifies with girls more and finds them easier to write suggests that it's also possible G just likes they pronouns.)

Of the little I remember about discussion of his gender stuff around 2014/2015, I recall reblogging recountings of what he was saying and going "hey, that's nice, super cool of a celebrity to be a trans ally like that." So I think you're probably correct that at least some people at the time didn't consider that G might have been some kind of trans or nonbinary.

I actually will contend against G Way knowing trans terminology really well around the time they started using they/them pronouns! The famous Boyzine interview has him using the word "transgenderism" and he tweeted about doing research on "the transgender subject." I don't think that points to him being super familiar with trans lingo at the time.

Like I said in the tags of my previous post, I think it's likely that he doesn't understand transness in the way that young people do now. But I don't think that the information G has shared leans towards their statements about gender definitely being allyship instead of personal identification.
