Simon Riley would say that being legally dead is the best thing to have happened to him and that's because it allowed him to escape a bunch of responsibilities that regular men have to uphold.
He gets paid covertly, in full, and does not have to pay taxes on his income.
He rented a flat from a sweet ol' lady, who didn't run a background check or ask for a copy of his birth certificate (terrible choice on her part), and he pays her by dropping an envelope of cash in her mailbox on the 1st of every of the month.
He not only is old enough to drink but also sounds and looks old enough as well, which means he doesn't need I.D. to buy alcohol (not that any shops or bars really care enough to check).
He doesn't have a credit card. Or a debit card for that matter. Hell, he doesn't even have a bank account, so he doesn't have to pay maintenance fees.
He doesn't have a smartphone. And up until recently he only had a pager. In fact, the only reason he doesn't have a pager anymore is because it got shot in the crossfire during a mission... so Price forced him to get a jitterbug.
In short... Simon Riley can escape a lot of things (death, taxes, Philip Graves...). But telemarketers and phone scammers are not one of those things.
That's how, on a boring Wednesday afternoon, his new phone ends up ringing, like it had been doing multiple times a week for the last four weeks.
Telemarketers.
He never got telemarketers on his pager.
He hated telemarketers.
But that didn't mean he blocked them-
"What?" He answered as soon as he picked up the phone.
An automated voice came over the call, one of those typical Siri-esque robot voices, delivering a prepared speech: "Congratulations! You've won a free cruise to the Bahamas! To claim your prize, press 1."
Oh, now, this was different. He didn't need to hear more to know it was a scam call. But that didn't mean he was going to hang up.
So Simon pressed key 1, which caused a beep to sound over the call.
"Thank you!" The automated voice continued. "We are now connecting you to a live operator to claim your prize!"
Barely a millisecond went by before you took over the call. "Good afternoon, this is Stella Gormoni with Blissful Blessings Inc.! Who am I speaking with?"
As stereotypical as it is, Simon had expected a different voice on the other end of the line... maybe from a scammer in a foreign country who'd speak heavily-accented English...
But instead, he got a sweet and professional sounding person... It almost made him second-guess the scam that was being pulled on him.
His mind moved quick at coming up with a fake name. Not just a fake one, but a pun one too. "Wanh'a, first name Aiden." He replied, his gruff voice reverberating on the call.
"And how do you spell that?" You asked him politely, and, through your headset, he could hear your keyboard keys clacking in the background.
"That's A-I-D-E-N." He replied as he entered his kitchen, spelling his first, as if that was somehow what was causing you difficulty.
"Uh-huh!" You acknowledged in a peppy tone. "And... your surname?" You asked him.
"W-A-N-H-'-A." He continued spelling as he crossed the small kitchen, hearing your fingers tapping away at your keyboard in his ear.
For a moment, you didn't talk, as if stunned into silence. Had you just picked up on the fact he was trolling you by giving you a name that, phonetically, sounded like 'I Don't Wanna'? Probably. But you hadn't hung up yet.
"Well, congratulations, Mr. Wanh'a, you just won an all-inclusive, two-week long cruise to the Bahamas!" Your peppy tone made him bite his lip to contain a laugh. Well, at least you were dedicated in continuing the scam. "How are you feeling?"
"Very well, and yourself?" Simon asked casually as he leaned himself against the door of his refrigerator, leaning down to look inside and find a snack.
"I'm doing very well, thank you, sir." You replied in a cheerful tone. "So, let's process the information so we can get you your prize, shall we?" You announced in a polite tone.
"Go right on ahead, sweet'eart." He murmured as he grabbed a yogurt and closed the fridge with his hip, sitting at the table and peeling open the lid.
"Well, for us to start, I'm going to need your-"
"Actually, I have a question, before we start." Simon interrupted your speech, cutting off your silver-tongued lies.
You went silent for just a moment before you replied with a sweet little: "Of course, what can I help you with, Mr. Wanh'a?"
"I want to know how exactly I signed up to receive this prize." Simon replied before he placed a spoonful of yogurt in his mouth.
He was trying to accomplish two things by doing this: 1) throw you off your game and make you stammer and stutter, and 2) see how long it took for you to get annoyed, and hang up on him.
"Well, that's what I was going to explain, you see-" You replied, a smile behind your voice, but his trained ears could pick up the slight frustration. It made Simon smile.
"Oh, then, I'm sorry for interrupting you, sweet'art, please go ahead." He replied and gestured with his spoon, as if giving you the stage, unnecessarily so, because you were not there to watch it.
"As I was saying... You were entered automatically into the draw by buying a cereal box of any Kellog's cereal at Tesco. I'm sure you saw a 'Win a free cruise!' sticker on yours?" You asked in a professional and sickly-sweet tone.
He could see right through your scam, he had already done that. You name a famous brand, one people trust, to trick naive or impressionable ones into believing you...
Normal people would tell you they no longer have the cereal box, many of them naive enough to believe your scam despite the fact they hadn't even bought one of those boxes in the first place...
Next, you'd ask for the card used to make the purchase, and some people were dumb enough to read their number aloud to you...
Oh, how he hated scammers. Even more than telemarketers.
"I do remember seeing something like that..." He murmured, his voice deepening, before he popped another spoonful of yogurt past his lips, loudly smacking them right against the receiver of his jitterbug.
"Well, all I need is for you to get the box and read me the code that's imprinted on the inside of the flap!" You announced.
"Well, you see, I would, sweet'art... But my sight isn't so good anymore..." Simon replied. "I'm getting up there in age, you know?" He continued eating his yogurt.
"I understand, sir." You replied. "I'm sorry to hear that. One of my cousins also started losing his vision pretty early." You announced.
Huh.
There was no hint of forced sympathy in your voice.
No, you were being genuine. That was a real story of your life you were telling him...
But you had picked up on the fact he was trolling you, right? So why were you-
"Good thing though, about this system of ours, is that you can just confirm your credit card details so we can double check them and get you that prize!" You had, your tone right back to the scamming silver-tongue you had held until now.
Secretly, Simon had to admit that he admired your commitment to the bit. He couldn't help but smile a bit, amused.
"Oh, of course. Let me just set you down while I get my card." Simon replied and got up, finishing his yogurt and tossing out the plastic container, popping the spoon into the sink, and, after setting down his phone, he walked out of the room.
Simon glanced down at his wrist watch, noting the time on it, then, approached his bedroom door, grabbing his over-the-door pull-up bars, and began doing a quick set, leaving you to 'wait' for him in the kitchen.
After a few sets, he waltzed back into the kitchen and grabbed his phone again. "You still there, da'lin'?" He beckoned in a gruff tone.
You sighed, your politeness sounding slightly more forced. He had kept you waiting for over ten minutes after all. "Yes, sir, I am. Did you get your card, Mr. Wanh'a?"
"Oh, please, enough of this 'sir' thing, Mr. Wanh'a was my mother." He replied, then went silent for just a beat, almost like he could hear your frustration sizzling on he other end.
He was being more and more obvious with his trolling... And it pleased him immensely to imagine a parasite like you seething on the other end of the line, reaching your wits' end.
"You can just call me 'Ai', it's what my friends call me." Simon continued, a smirk forming on his lips. "And we're friends now, right? You're giving me a cruise and everythin'." He added, his tone just as charismatic and peppy as his had been.
"I guess we are!" You replied, returning the overly cheery tone. "So, 'Ai Wanh'a', then?" You asked, but he could hear the mix of frustration and amusement behind your voice.
"Yeah? What d'you want, babygirl?" Simon asked, unable to resist making a more impish remark. And, unfortunately, it had the desired result. It genuinely caused your brain to blue-screen for a moment.
Sure, you'd experienced plenty of people getting angry at you when you attempt to scam them, or even trolling you the same way this bloke was doing but...
It was definitely a first, to have someone flirt with you, even if it was still part of his trolling attempt.
"Your... credit card details?" You ended up adding, your voice still showing the surprise and light meekness that came from him catching you off-guard.
"Oh, of course. Are you ready? It's a very complex number." He replied.
"Ready when you are." You added as you steeled yourself for another smartass response or run around from him.
"Here it is: 1234-5678-9987-6543." He replied, reciting the numbers 1-9 in order and then backward. "And the three digits on the back are: 210."
Oh, he was so fucking annoying! He didn't get to troll you, even if it was pretty amusing of him to do so, then flirt with you, then go back to trolling.
"Sir, if you're not interested in the cruise, just say so. There's no need for this mockery." You replied, your tone serious and professional though you were definitely seething on the inside.
Simon could tell. And he reveled in it. "Oh, but I am interested!" He replied with a smirk behind his voice. "In fact, I want to know more. Will my cabin in the cruise have an ocean view?"
Simon heard you inhale aggressively on the other side of the line, steeling yourself not to hang up on him, or down right berating him on the phone. "Yes, Ai, of course!" He heard your fake cheeriness through your clenched teeth. "It'll be a luxury cabin, actually. Isn't that great?"
"No, it's not that great, actually. I get very seasick, you see?" Simon murmured. "Not to mention, ever since my pet goldfish died, I've just never been able to look at the ocean the same..." He added in a forced pitiful tone.
You went quiet again on the other side and Simon knew he had finally worn you out. He waited to hear the clicking sound of the call falling, but, instead, he just heard you let out a sigh.
"You're very frustrating." You murmured.
"Oh, my, is this how you speak to all your prize winners?" Simon gasped dramatically.
"Shut up... You didn't have to be a smartass, you know?!" You scolded him, as if you had any ground to stand on.
"No, I fear I did, sweet'art." Simon replied as he leaned casually against the kitchen counter. "You called me, interrupted my day, and wasted my time with a scam, of all things. I have every right to be a smartass and have some fun with it." He added, a smug tone obvious in the dulcets of his deep voice.
"Okay? You could've just hung up on me?" You were truly grasping at straws to justify your behaviour. It was comical.
Simon laughed dryly. "And waste an opportunity to annoy a parasitic leech like you?" He quipped.
That stunned you into silence for a moment and you couldn't help but pout a bit.
"Not to mention, what you're doing is illegal, you know that righ'? And I'm military, I could get you arrested for this." He added.
"For that, you'd need to know where I am." You retorted, maybe a bit bratilly. "Besides, I knew you were a soldier."
"And how did you know that?"
"You used the NATO phonetic alphabet while spelling 'your' name'." You replied directly. "Nobody spells 'Aiden' as 'Alpha-India-Delta-Echo-November'."
"So you knew I was military and you still went ahead with your little scam attempt? You're not that bright, are you?" He defied you, which earned him a scoff from your end.
"No, I already knew you were trolling me."
"Oh, so you just wanted to waste my time?"
"That's exactly it, Aiden."
"Sounds to me like you're just looking for trouble, da'lin'." He quipped, his voice having lowered to a gruffer tone.
Rolling your eyes, you scoffed. "Am not. I'm just enjoying myself. You're not the only one that can make jokes at people's expenses."
"No, you really are..." He tutted his tongue and shook his head. "Need I remind you you were trying to scam me, and other people?" He added in a tone that sent a shiver down your spine.
"I know what I was doing."
"Yeah? And are you proud of that? Proud of being a conniving little cunt who tries to take people's hard-earned money?" He taunted you.
You didn't reply. Of course you weren't proud. You still had a conscience! But you wouldn't tell him that. He wouldn't get the satisfaction of hearing you apologise.
"I see. You don't like what I'm saying, so you give me the silent treatment, is that it, sweet'art?" He teased. You could hear the smirk behind his words.
"I wonder if you'd still act like this if you had to face me and had to answer for yourself."
Closing your fists tight, you steel yourself again to gain some edge and reply to him. "I guess you're going to keep wondering then. Because it's not happening."
"You know, it's a shame your little computer spat out my phone number for you to call..." He trailed off.
"And why's that?"
"Because instead of anyone else, you got me... And that's just... really bad luck for you. Any other service member, you would've been fine..." He trailed off.
"What, are you some sort of General-Major-Chief thing, super high up the ladder?" You taunted.
Simon simply chuckled dryly on the other side of the line. "No. But I'm definitely the worst person you could've tried to play with."
"Oh, big scary man, what are you gonna do? Gonna come teach me a lesson?" You added, taunting him some more, clearly feeling comfortable behind your laptop, with your smartphone, sitting at home, comfortable and warm, with your pet at your feet. "Oh, I'm so scared!" You added, feigning fear in a dramatic tone.
"Is that a challenge I'm hearing, sweet'art? Inviting me to come pay you a visit?" Simon asked you, his brow cocking, despite the fact you couldn't see it.
You don't know what it was about the way he spoke. The way he said that. The way his voice sounded.
It sent a shiver down your spine, a cold sweat, like he was, for the first time, not joking around anymore.
"No...?" You murmured in reply, feeling your shoulders tensing in an unpleasant way.
"Yeah... That's an invite I'm hearing..." He disregarded what you said and chuckled. "Maybe I'll come pay you a visit then, hey? How does that sound, little leech?"

ON SELF EDUCATION
"I am concerned that too many people are focused too much on money and not on their greatest wealth, which is their education. If people are prepared to be flexible, keep an open mind and learn, they will grow richer and richer through the changes. If they think money will solve the problems, I am afraid those people will have a rough ride. Intelligence solves problems and produces money. Money without financial intelligence is money soon gone."
- Robert Kiyosaki, Rich Dad Poor Dad
I will forever remember the first college class I took in my current degree on philosophy and history.
It was an "Introduction to Philosophy" class. The teacher proceeded to say that self help is not philosophy, because philosophy doesn't have practical appliance (!) is just a way to think about thoughts.
The noble teacher then, who didn't want to make money off of self help books but from textbooks the government buys in crazy prices to give to the students talked about Thales.
One of the first philosophers that set foot on our planet, Thales was an avid mathematician and astronomer. He also calculated the weather and knew how oil production will be based on that, then he made the decision if he would invest on oil or plant more olive trees.
Some classmates were flagger busted. How could a noble philosopher use his knowledge for something so dirty? Making money.
I obviously raised my hand and opened the gates of hell.
Education is important. Period. But self education? Non-negotiable.
Going to college and getting a degree, if you have the means to do that or if it's affordable in your country, will open many doors for you.
Both new rich and old rich send their kids to the best educational institutions, even if they "make fun" of people who went to college.
Having a degree and being business minded will make you unstoppable.
Now, if you want to be a triple threat you can not skip self-education.
As an example, learning history is very important. Looking back to our past can help us notice patterns and make us better at decision making. At school AND college though, history is not taught correctly. Seeing with one eye may be good but seeing with both is much better.
Now, you may ask me : Why do many highly educated people and college professors do not become wealthy ?
The answer is not simple but can be brought down to this : They prefer stroking their own ego over coming to terms with the fact that you are the only one who can save yourself and no amount of books you read will do it for you. Reading books does not by itself make you more valuable. Only if you utilise what you learn you will become a money making asset.
Many academics love to seat on their high horse (I believe many college students have noticed this) and they find money immoral and their studies "noble".
If you know nothing about economics, law, taxes and human psychology you will not advance. If you do not cultivate a wealth mindset you will not advance. If you let your ego get in your way you will not advance.

INSERT SALUTATIONS! I'm back and I hope you guys will receive me well once again,,,🤸‍♀️🤍🤍🤍
🎡Even though I'm closer to home compared last year, I'm still struggling to handle more financially taxing things like preparing for materials in class that end up being very costly and I also want to help provide for my family especially now that prices are so high especially the bills it's insane... I'm doing my best not to depend on them for money, and so I'm doing this as my main source of income too. That is why it is my humblest request to ask for your support once again. இ௰இ<33
🎠Like before, my prices have gone up to compensate my growing credibility towards being a working artist (studying art and work experiences). It's still lower than the usual but I'm now trying to price my work in the standards of the ongoing market. Nevertheless, I hope it's still wallet-friendly without compromising my time and effort's worth. ;0;
🎐SO ANY SHOWCASE OF YOUR SUPPORT MEANS A LOT TO ME! From the likes to the shares and especially to the orders, I am immensely grateful!

Our Shattered Heart Headcanons! Pt1 (GN! 'Heart' Reader x Poly! 141 + cbf)
Read Our Shattered Heart Here! Masterlist!
Soft! 141 headcanons for OSH with Heart and Oliver (with ‘heart’ reader in mind)
(I tend to write heart as coming from America so they brought some stuff with them, no other specifers mentioned!)
General info and mornings!
Tumblr media
Since your introduction, you brought the idea of a large American breakfast and the boys have run with this. Past are the days of a quick bite if they can instead spend time together and cook. Even when off duty you all still wake up early. In my mind Kyle and Johnny will take the moment to sleep in, tugging whoever they are with to their chest.
John and Simon are up early, Simon possibly even earlier with either nightmares or Johnny’s snoring. In my mind, Simon won’t keep the mask around you guys so you get sleeping Simon face! Lady Earl Grey for Captain Johnathan Price in my household and Earl Grey for simon. I like the difference in flavors myself. However! If Simon does not need to be up early and you're in his arms he will dig in his heels and stay in bed! John will leave you in bed trying not to wake you up.
As for OSH my OC Oliver will wake up when heart does, they grew up together and served together so they are bread and butter. You will sometimes shower quickly, do any skincare and prepare for the day around Kyle when you're on base (heart and Gaz share a bathroom).
If you get up early enough Kyle, you, and Johnny will do your typical run before returning. Simon and John usually drink tea together at that point and you will go in and start on breakfast. Homemade pancakes are a win in this household:
Normal for John (likes a bit of bacon with each bite)
Blueberry for Simon and Johnny (Johnny will eat and sneak the batter around you!)
Kyle I can see with strawberries something cute (idk where to source this from lol)
During the intel mission (ie lounging in a flat in London) The boys are a lot more relaxed. You sometimes wake up around 4 for whatever reason and find Simon sprawled out on the couch. He is hard to sneak past so you usually get an early cuddle. When he is off base the man is very, very affectionate. Not openly to the point of Johnny but he likes having a hand on or near you especially after you ran out that night (OSH part 1).  Calls reader lovie and dove
Johnny is a golden retriever. That man will hoist you up and carry you off if your not watching out for him. There is a kiss tax (™)  with this man to release you. Calls reader bonnie and lovie
Kyle will cook with you, always. You both somehow always find yourselves in the kitchen together. He isnt as much as Johnny but he is just as protective. He usually find you throughout base (especially if Konig is around) Calls reader love
John likes how you prepare his tea. You spent many long nights in his office working to find him asleep. Will seek you out when stressed. Pressing a kiss to your palm or temple is his main method of affection. Calls reader love, dear, and sweetheart
BONUS! Sgt. Oliver ‘Moss’ Knight
Baby boi! All I can say is he is a softy. Gets along best with Kyle so far with a shared love of cooking. He’s 6’2” standing next to Johnny and can match his strength. American and reader’s childhood best friend. Calls you Darling and Sweetheart. Simon’s skull plate mask freaks him out. Brought the reader’s childhood frog (William) to them from home.

Hi, thanks for answering, I decided to order a Wakana disc and a Keiko disc. But I'm a little sad because I won't receive my package, customs is charging me a lot to deliver it and I can't pay that amount and if I don't pay in 20 days they auction it off. I had asked for it as a birthday present for myself, the main objective of supporting them was fulfilled anyway. It should be noted that it was my friend The person who made the order was not well informed and ordered the things through Fedex and everyone who buys from CD Japan tells me that they shouldn't have ordered it through there. In short, now I'm afraid to order something again and not The person who made the order was not well informed and ordered things through Fedex and everyone who buys from CD Japan tells me that they shouldn't have ordered it through there. In short, now I'm afraid to order something again and not receive it 😢Sorry for answering here, but the answers don't let me say much. By the way, drink a lot of water because of the heat.
Tumblr media
Oh no!! 🫂 That sounds like such a horrible experience. I'm sorry you encountered these problems while making your very first order. Is there really no one who can help you pay that amount? I know those charges can be criminally high and it's painful to even think about spending that much money (often more than the actual price of the product) but it would be a real shame for those CDs to be lost forever.
I can totally understand why you are now afraid to order anything else. Even after being a fan for so many years, I still hate how difficult and expensive it often is for overseas fans to buy anything from Japan. There have been some improvements in the last decade but it still is a hassle and I don't even wanna think about the many times my anxious little self had to argue with some rude person from the customs office.
With CDJapan, I can recommend Air Mail as the best shipping method. It takes quite long but it's considerably cheaper than EMS, FedEx or DHL. I don't know the customs and import tax rates of your country but they usually like to include the shipping costs as part of the value (which is used as basis to determine the charged tax) so the cheaper the shipping, the lower your customs/tax fees. On a related note, it is better to order smaller/fewer items to reduce the overall value of goods. These days, I mostly order on Japanese websites using a proxy service called Tenso. They allow me to adjust the price of the items which makes it possible to keep the goods value pretty low.
Maybe also try to check if Amazon.co.jp provides international shipping to your country. At least in my case (Austria, Europe), they already include taxes and such in the price I'm paying so the packages don't get held up in customs. This might just apply to EU states though so please keep that in mind (for me, CDJapan works the same as Amazon.co.jp when it comes to taxes).
Please don't let this experience discourage you. It can sometimes be a lot of trial and error when you first start ordering from Japan (especially if you are not familiar with the different shipping options and your country's import procedures). Definitely take a break for a while and try to do some research to be better prepared for future attempts. Then maybe, you can try again in a few months.
In the meantime, check if their solo stuff is available in your local iTunes or Google Play store. If you don't feel comfortable ordering physical goods, you can still support them by purchasing the digital music. It's not much but at least it's something.
Thank you, I'm trying to stay hydrated as best as possible. Hopefully the hot and humid days will be over soon.

Column Vivianne Miedema | That full playing calendar is just a shame
Tumblr media
Columnist Vivianne Miedema thinks the full playing calendar is a disgrace. She sees many top players drop out due to injuries. “We are in a world that goes on and on and there are few players who say anything about it. I do.”
Karim Benzema, Sadio Mane, Paul Pogba, N'Golo Kante. All top players that we now have to miss at the World Cup due to injuries. Injuries are also common in women's football. My partner Beth Mead has been out for months and will miss next summer's World Cup. My teammate Leah Williamson at Arsenal has also been out for a long time with an injury.
It's all no coincidence. Sure, injuries are sometimes unstoppable, but I see a worrying pattern. The playing calendar for both the women and the men is simply too full. Actually, it's just a shame. We are in a world that goes on and on and there are few players who say anything about it. I do. We go completely crazy with the tax on football players. I can already draw out some of the reactions to this column, you know. We have the best profession in the world, we earn a lot of money and we don't have to complain. Just play football.
“For the past six, seven years, I've been going practically non-stop. That will pay off.”
But it doesn't work that way for me. I really enjoy football and I feel privileged. But that doesn't mean we should ignore our health. At the beginning of this month I deliberately took a step back. I felt that my body and mind were ready for a rest. For people who do not work in top sport, that will sound strange. People who do work in our world will understand it better. But many players don't feel that freedom to stand up for themselves or just want to continue in their tunnel.
The schedule in which we train, play and have obligations from the club is killer. Last year, with the Olympic Games, I had two weeks off. That's pretty extreme. For the past six, seven years, I've been going practically non-stop. That will pay off. If you don’t have a mental rest, the risk of injury is also greater.
National coach Andries Jonker has had an eye for this important subject during the last period with international practice matches. He deliberately did not call me and other internationals. I have also started the item at my club Arsenal. My coach Jonas Eidevall was initially surprised by my request, but soon found that I was right. I spent a large part of the European Championship last summer in my hotel room with corona. After that, the preparation for the season started almost immediately. I went through in one go and I paid the price for that. I had to get out and went to Australia in those two weeks. Away from football. In that period I missed one game, against Leicester City.
Football players need much better protection. Many coaches and agents look out for their own interests. I do understand that trainers have to win matches and therefore want to line up their best players. But to what extent does result take precedence over the safety of a player? And a good agent also looks at the long term, but unfortunately the practice is different. We now have only thirteen fit players at Arsenal. I hope one day we'll realize that it's all way too crazy right now.

We need to talk about healthcare and financial crises. There are a lot of us who wholeheartedly believe that there are cures to everything but that our illness is a form of profit for our country, especially within the United States. Just like the fact that instead of having fruit and vegetables and herbs be readily available and accessible for us, we’ve got to go buy them and as inflation increases, the price tags on healthier food choices increases. In the United States, you can get fined for not having insurance, but when you do have insurance you have to pay a fee to have it, large chunks of our pay checks are eaten up and taken from us as well as tax dollars. We not only have issues in the health care system regarding racial bias and discrimination but we also have a problem with the maternal mortality rate, especially in women of color, and especially in regards to black women.
We know who is most likely to get sickle cell anemia and who is most affected by it, and we know who is going to have a hard time affording a 2.2 million cure for sickle cell anemia. We know a large quantity of individuals with chronic illnesses or life threatening illnesses that require intensive medical care and medication are people or color or minorities. We know that people of color and minorities have historically been and systematically been financially unstable, have been paid more, or have been offered the lowest standard of care and resources. Why are we creating cures and services that we know a large percentage of our population cannot afford or does not have access to? And now, we have a case where even a larger percentage of our population cannot afford healthcare and services due to the economic state of our country.
We’re continuing to have children, especially as women, when we need to advocate for better healthcare and support. Women worldwide need to start setting better requirements for when they’re going to have children and how. As someone whose been interested in midwifery for years and has been reading up on midwifery and birthing practices and what is absolutely necessary and essential in order to give a woman a chance at having a smooth, healthy, and safe pregnancy. Vast majority of women who are having children don’t realize that today’s practices for birthing children or preparing you for labor and delivery are less than the bare minimum. Women need access to good food and need to be able to eat well and have a nutritionally balanced diet, women need to be able to participate in physical activity and exercise throughout their pregnancy (yoga, Pilates, walking, etc.) and especially with trained professionals and staff who are educated on what type of physical exercise would best benefit a woman throughout her pregnancy and what will ultimately help her out when it’s time to deliver, they need access to good environments and practices that are created to benefit them and make their experiences easier, safer, and more comfortable. And they absolutely do not need to be required to pay an arm and a leg in hospital fees to have a child in the United States.
We need better health care that better accommodates women in the process of conceiving, women going through their pregnancy, women who are laboring and delivering, and women who are still alive during post partum healing. All these things should be requirements. All of these things should be covered by insurance. The issue is so large that women are having to travel outside of the United States to give birth to their babies and come back so that they could have better care and a better recovery and overall survival rate. It’s expensive to hire a midwife, let alone a dula for spiritual guidance and support. All women should have access to midwives and dulas and there needs to be more women in the birthing industry. We know that traditional midwifery practices and practices that were created to better aid women and were more effective and atomically accurate have been let go of or replaced.
Children are expensive, motherhood is expensive, and at this current moment we have mothers who are going through their pregnancies and post partum without proper resources and care and we have children coming into this world constantly and repeatedly to environments, parents, circumstances, etc. that aren’t financially, emotionally, or physically fit or stable to give them good lives. We need to stop having children at such a rate whilst we shift our focus to advocating for better health care and support for our women. Having a child is a privilege, some people may not agree, but just because we love them does not mean that we should all be having them because at this time we do not have the proper resources to bring them into this world correctly or provide for them.
There’s a lot going on here and a lot we need to advocate for. And those who are chronically ill or have been intense physical ailments and pregnant women who are giving birth to babies are just the tip of the iceberg. This isn’t even including the chronically mentally ill or those with developmental disabilities whose families have to pay thousands of dollars just to get them what they need. Since we’re changing the world and there is a shift happening, it’s time we start having the right conversations at the right time. There’s no time to change the world like today.

Sometimes the most obvious questions are the best. In the case of the Conservatives, the most obvious question is so glaring that one wonders why Tory politicians don’t ask it ten-times a day before breakfast: why don’t they move to the centre?
The opinion polls are predicting a Tory rout on the scale of 1906, 1945 or 1997.
Surely in the interests of preserving the Conservatives as a fighting force the party must compromise to limit its losses to Labour. Here are a couple of compromises that occur to me. They make perfect political sense until you realise that conservatism has been so radicalised that compromise now feels like treason.
First, health. When we remember the suffering of the early 2020s, we will remember covid, of course.
But we will also remember the millions on NHS waiting lists, the elderly left for hours until ambulances arrive, the cancelled operations, the sick who would work if they could be treated but cannot find a doctor, the explosion in mental illness, the needlessly prolonged pain, the needlessly early deaths.
The Conservatives ought to be doing everything they can to improve the health service before polling day – out of a reptile-brain survival instinct if nothing else.
They will not do it because in British conservatism’s ever-diminishing circles health is not a concern.
The dominant Conservative factions want a right-wing policy offer of tax cuts and immigration controls. Not one of the party’s leaders has discussed how the increase in life expectancy means the demands on the NHS of an ever-larger pensioner population make tax cuts unaffordable. Nor have I heard honest discussion of how the need for foreign health and care workers to fill the gaps in provision makes immigration essential.
Rather than face up to the impossibility of Thatcherite economics in the 21st century they prefer to change the conversation and look the other way.
Let me offer a second example, which I think Brits will soon be obsessing about.
After years of delays Brexit Britain is finally imposing border checks on food imports from the European Union.  Wholesalers and retailers predict that bureaucratic costs and the need for veterinary and phytosanitary checks will lead to continental producers deciding to sell their goods elsewhere. Price rises and food shortages will follow.
What kind of government in an election year, of all years, wants empty shelves?
A Conservative kind of government appears to be the answer. The sensible move would be for the Conservatives to follow Labour’s policy of striking a deal to stick to EU standards and ease bureaucracy at the border.  That would mean the UK following European food regulations, as EU ambassadors have made clear.
But compared to dear food and empty shops, who the hell cares about that?
Tories care. Brexit is their King Charles head, their reason for being, their obsession.
David Frost, who negotiated the UK’s disastrous exit agreement with the EU, wrote an unintentionally revealing paragraph last week which encapsulated the ideological capture of British Conservatism.
“The Conservative Party owns Brexit. Whether ministers like it or not, or maybe even wish it hadn’t happened, it’s the central policy of the Party and the government. They must be prepared to defend and explain it – to show why it’s so important that Britain is a proper democracy once again. For if voters come to believe Brexit is failing, then the Conservative Party will inevitably fail too.”
There you have it. Brexit is the Conservative party and vice versa.
What a distance we have come! In 2016, a mere eight years ago, the Conservative party’s leader and most of its MPs supported the UK’s membership of the European Union. Eurosceptics posed as mild-mannered people. They promised that leaving the EU would not mean leaving the single market .
But then leave won the 2016 Brexit referendum and set us off on a spiral of radicalisation, which was instantly familiar to those of us who grew up on the left.
Here is how it worked on the left in the 20th century.  You would be in a meeting where everyone agreed to a leftist policy: say that the government should encourage banks to give micro loans to poor people to keep them out of the hands of loan sharks.
Everything seems fine until an accusatory voice accuses all present of being sellouts because they do not believe in nationalising the banks,
Or today, after the great awokening, an academic department will propose reasonable measures to check that they are not unconsciously discriminating in their application process, only to be told that, if they were truly concerned with justice, they would decolonise the curriculum and purge it of “white” concepts such as truth and objectivity.
The near identical radicalisation of the right has been more serious because the right has real power.
Here is how its spiral into Tory Jacobinism went.
After winning the Brexit referendum in 2016, retaining the UK’s membership of the single market and the customs union suddenly became wholly unacceptable. They had to go.
As the ideological temperature rose, Theresa May’s attempts at compromise became sellouts, judges became enemies of the people, and the only acceptable way to leave became Frost and Johnson’s impoverishing hard Brexit.
We now have a new Tory ideology: “Brexitism.” It is a style of swaggering bravado and a bawling loud-mouthed way of doing business that goes far beyond the UK’s relations with the EU.
The catastrophic premiership of Liz Truss was “Brexitist”. She crashed the economy because she believed she was right to ignore the warnings of the Treasury, Bank of England and Office for Budget Responsibility.
What true Brexit supporter trusts experts, after all?
Brexit showed that you did not need them.  All you needed was the will to impose a radical agenda and then the world would accommodate itself to your desires.
In retrospect, 2016 plays the same role for the radical right of 21th century Britain that 1917 played for the British radical left in the 20th. The fluke communist takeover of Russia in 1917 convinced hundreds of thousands over the decades that revolution could succeed in the UK, even though communism never stood a chance in this country.
The fluke leave win of 2016 has had an equally mystifying effect. Because radical right politics succeeded in one set of circumstances, its supporters assumed they would succeed in all circumstances.
Nowhere in right-wing discourse do you hear suggestions that the Conservative defeat might be softened if the government appealed to the majority of voters. Instead, the right says that the only way to save the right is for the right to move rightwards and become more rightly right wing.
Once again, the parallels with the communist movement to people of my age scream so loudly they are deafening.
To quote the weirdest example. A few weeks ago, an anonymous group of wealthy men calling themselves the Conservative Britain Alliance spent about £40,000 on opinion polling, and gave the results to the Daily Telegraph. They showed the Conservatives were heading for a landslide defeat, as so many polls do.
But the spin put on it by the Conservative Britain Alliance’s frontman Lord Frost (again!) was that the Tories must move to the right to attract Faragist voters, not to try to stem the growth of Labour support.
A further release from the anonymous group of wealthy men added to the impression of a right wing living in the land of make believe.
They produced findings that showed the Conservatives could win if Sunak were replaced by a hypothetical Tory leader. This imaginary figure was a political superhero who would be strong “on crime and migration” (naturally) but also had the superpower to “cut taxes and get NHS waiting lists down” at the same time.
Lower taxes and better public services all at once in a wonderful never never land.
My guess is that it will take three maybe four election defeats to batter the delusions of 2016 out of the Conservative party.
Perhaps no number of defeats will suffice, and Brexitism will be Toryism’s final delirium.

How to Sell Your Software Company: A Step-by-Step Guide
Tumblr media
Selling your software company is a major milestone that requires careful planning and understanding of the process. Whether you're looking to exit the industry, retire, or pursue other ventures, knowing what to expect can help you navigate the sale smoothly and achieve a successful outcome. In this guide, we’ll answer the most common questions about selling a software company, providing clear insights to help you through each stage.
1. What are the key steps to prepare my software company for sale?
Before listing your company for sale, it’s crucial to get your business in the best shape possible to attract buyers. Key steps include:
Organizing Financial Records: Ensure your profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and tax returns are up to date and accurate. Buyers will want to see at least 3 years of clean financial records.
Evaluating Growth Potential: Highlight future opportunities for growth, such as new markets, product developments, or untapped revenue streams.
Securing Intellectual Property: Ensure that all software, patents, and trademarks are properly documented and legally protected.
Stabilizing the Business: Make sure the company is running smoothly, with a solid customer base, strong recurring revenue, and efficient operations.
By taking these steps, you’ll increase your company’s attractiveness to potential buyers and ensure a smoother sale process.
2. How do I determine the value of my software company?
Valuing a software company involves looking at several factors, including:
Revenue and Profit Margins: Buyers will focus on your annual revenue, profit margins, and how consistent your earnings are. Recurring revenue from subscription models or long-term contracts will be highly valued.
Customer Base: A large, loyal customer base with low churn rates adds value to the business.
Growth Potential: Buyers will assess the company’s potential for future growth, such as new product lines or expansion into new markets.
Intellectual Property: Software companies with proprietary technology, patents, or other unique intellectual property are generally more valuable.
It’s recommended to have a professional business valuation expert assess your company to ensure you get an accurate figure.
3. What types of buyers are interested in acquiring a software company?
There are typically three main types of buyers for software companies:
Strategic Buyers: These buyers are often larger companies looking to acquire your software to complement or enhance their existing offerings. They are likely to pay a premium if they see strong synergies.
Private Equity Firms: These firms look for software companies with stable earnings and growth potential. Their goal is to improve the company’s value and sell it for a higher price in the future.
Individual Investors: Entrepreneurs or investors who are looking to enter the software industry may be interested in smaller, profitable software companies.
Understanding the type of buyer you want to attract will help you tailor your marketing and sales strategy.
4. Where can I find potential buyers for my software company?
Finding the right buyer requires a mix of industry connections and professional assistance. Here are some ways to identify potential buyers:
Work with a Business Broker: Business brokers specialize in helping you find qualified buyers. They can also assist with negotiations and the overall sale process.
Leverage Industry Networks: Attend conferences, events, or join industry groups where you can connect with potential buyers who are already interested in the software space.
Use Online Business Marketplaces: Websites and platforms dedicated to business sales are a great way to reach a wider audience of potential buyers.
A business broker can be particularly helpful in ensuring that you find serious buyers and avoid wasting time on non-committed parties.
5. What legal and financial documents do I need to prepare before selling?
Before the sale process begins, you’ll need to organize several important documents:
Financial Statements: Ensure your profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and tax returns are well-prepared and accurate.
Intellectual Property Documentation: Make sure any patents, trademarks, and software licenses are in order and ready for transfer.
Contracts and Agreements: Review and prepare any contracts with customers, vendors, and employees to ensure they can be easily transferred to the new owner.
Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA): Protect sensitive business information by having potential buyers sign an NDA before sharing detailed company data.
Being well-prepared will make the due diligence process faster and give potential buyers more confidence in the deal.
6. How long does it take to sell a software company?
The timeline for selling a software company can vary, but it generally takes 6 to 12 months. Here’s what the process typically involves:
Preparation Phase: This involves organizing financials, securing intellectual property, and making sure the business is operating smoothly. This phase can take several months.
Finding a Buyer: Depending on your approach and the market, it could take a few months to find the right buyer.
Due Diligence and Negotiation: Once a buyer is interested, the due diligence process can take several weeks or even months as they review your financials, legal documents, and business operations.
Being patient and prepared for each phase will help ensure a smooth sale.
7. How do I negotiate a fair deal when selling my software company?
Negotiating a fair deal requires both preparation and strategy. Here are some tips:
Set Your Bottom Line: Know the minimum price you are willing to accept before entering negotiations.
Highlight the Value: Make sure to emphasize the company’s growth potential, profitability, and strong customer base during negotiations.
Consider Earn-Out Agreements: An earn-out is a payment structure where part of the sale price depends on the future performance of the company. This can be beneficial if your company’s growth potential is strong.
It’s a good idea to work with a lawyer or broker during negotiations to ensure you get the best possible terms.
8. What happens after the sale of my software company?
After the sale, there’s often a transition period where you continue to work with the buyer to ensure a smooth handover. This might involve training the new owner, introducing them to key customers, or helping with daily operations. The transition period can last anywhere from a few months to a year, depending on the agreement.
Additionally, make sure to consult with a tax advisor to understand the tax implications of the sale and how to manage the proceeds from the sale effectively.
Selling a software company is a complex process that involves preparation, valuation, marketing, and negotiation. By understanding the key steps and having the right documentation and support in place, you can ensure a successful sale that meets your financial and personal goals. Whether you’re looking to sell now or just preparing for the future, the insights provided in this guide will help you navigate the process with confidence.

What Did Christmas and New Year's Mean to the Enslaved?
Tumblr media
Christmas Day was the immediate focus during my childhood, with New Year’s Day being the afterthought. The hopes and expectations of presents filled the months before Christmas. What toys would I receive? There was also the religious component, learning my part in the church play and participating in school concerts. New Year’s Day signaled the countdown for returning to school and that vacation would soon be over.
As an adult, New Year’s took on greater significance. Some years, I made resolutions reflecting the best intentions, though the will to follow through wasn’t a given. Gifts became more about giving than receiving. But both as an adult and child, it was primarily the Christmas season, with New Year’s coming in a distant second.
For the enslaved, Christmas and New Year’s also had special meaning. Christmas on some plantations did have some positives for the enslaved people. They might be allowed to sing, dance, and possibly mingle with relatives from other plantations. They might even receive small gifts from the master designed to instill loyalty and productivity.
Then again, the enslaved might be the gift. There are multiple documented cases of enslaved people given as gifts to family members or business partners on Christmas, including Louis Hughes, author of Thirty Years a Slave.
Despite revisionist historians suggesting how joyful Christmas was for the enslaved, many worked extra hard preparing the feast for the master and family. Some had the day off, but the work would always be made up elsewhere. It was always New Year’s Day that was at the forefront of the mind of the enslaved person. New Year’s was the day the owners settled their debts and taxes, often resulting in the sale of slaves and tearing apart families.
New Year’s had entirely different concerns for enslaved people in America. It might be the day their families were broken up for a year or forever, depending on their owners’ whims or financial concerns. In those days, the fiscal year began on January 1st, and all settlements were made at the end of the year. Farmers and plantation owners who were in debt often paid their bills by leasing or selling their enslaved people. Resistance was futile; whippings and slave jails were the response.
For those enslaved people fortunate enough to have families, what happened was obscene. If the husband was sold off or leased and the wife remained, she was still expected to fulfill her role as a breeder. Whoever the master designated would come around and take her as violently as needed. If her husband returned, he might find a child he didn’t conceive or an impregnated wife he hadn’t been with. His only option was to deal with it, just as she had.
Related: Florida Teaching Middle Schoolers That Slavery Benifited the Enslaved Is Wicked
The reasons the husband might not return were numerous. There was often danger in the work. Leased enslaved people often worked for the railroads or in mines, using dangerous explosives to dig out tunnels. Any who tried to escape, whether seeking freedom or returning to their family, were subject to beatings, returned to their new environment, and, of course, faced death, for which the perpetrator would receive no punishment.
The economy of several states depended on the forced breeding of enslaved people. Black women were mated with appropriate Black male “specimens” to produce bigger and stronger children who would fetch a higher price. They also might be raped by their masters or relatives and friends; their lighter-skinned children would also fetch a high price, whether they ended up as household servers or “fancies” in the girls’ case that would work in brothels.
The economics of slave breeding were set up in the Constitution. Slave states like South Carolina were able to negotiate a twenty-year extension of the international slave trade, with Charleston, South Carolina, being the main port. Little did they know that the day that agreement expired, Thomas Jefferson would end the international slave trade, causing southern plantations to rely entirely on domestically produced slaves. Virginia, Maryland, and other states had excess enslaved people due to the lower yield of tobacco caused by poor farming techniques. They made up for it by churning out as many enslaved people as possible by whatever means necessary to sell them down South, where they were needed to harvest sugar, rice, and cotton.
Related: Is Picking Cotton Really the Best Way To Teach Kids About Slavery?
Depending on the wealth of the plantation, Christmas might be somewhat of a celebration even for the enslaved. They might receive special food, small gifts they weren’t expected to reciprocate, perhaps even a few days off. But it was all a set-up. Come New Year’s Day, families might be broken up and whatever slight joy might have come from small gifts was offset by tears and the destruction of homes.
As 2024 approaches, there is still reason for anxiety, like the beginning of any new year. There will be a presidential election; war rages in areas of the Middle East with the potential for expansion as the Russia/Ukraine war continues. These types of concerns existed throughout America’s slave history, whether it be the War of 1812, the Civil War, the enactment of Fugitive Slave laws, or the general risk associated with enslavement. Knowing that you could be killed without cause and there would be no punishment due to prevailing attitudes and laws like the Casual Killing Act of 1669, is called qualified immunity today.
Still, as a parent and now a grandparent, I’ve never had to fear having my offspring sold away on New Year’s to settle another man’s debt. We’ll have to consider that progress.

Property Registration: Register the property with the DLD to formalize ownership.
Legal Advice: Consider hiring a legal advisor to assist with the legal aspects of the purchase.
Choosing the Right Real Estate Agent
A reputable real estate agent can make the process of buying a luxury property much smoother. Here are some tips for choosing the right agent:
Experience and Reputation: Choose an agent with extensive experience and a strong reputation in the luxury property market.
Market Knowledge: Ensure the agent has in-depth knowledge of the specific areas and properties you are interested in.
Client Testimonials: Look for client testimonials and reviews to gauge the agent's performance and reliability.
Communication Skills: Select an agent who communicates effectively and is responsive to your needs and concerns.
Viewing and Selecting Properties
When viewing luxury properties, consider the following factors:
Location: The location of the property is crucial. Consider proximity to amenities, views, and the overall neighborhood.
Quality of Construction: Assess the quality of construction, materials used, and overall craftsmanship.
Amenities and Features: Ensure the property offers the amenities and features that are important to you, such as private pools, gyms, and security.
Future Development Plans: Research any future development plans in the area that could impact the value and desirability of the property.
Making an Offer and Negotiating
Once you find the perfect property, making an offer and negotiating terms is the next step. Here are some tips:
Offer Price: Work with your agent to determine a fair offer price based on market value and recent sales.
Negotiation Strategy: Have a clear negotiation strategy and be prepared to make counteroffers.
Inclusions and Exclusions: Clearly outline what is included in the sale, such as furnishings, fixtures, and appliances.
Contingencies: Include contingencies in your offer to protect your interests, such as financing and inspection contingencies.
Closing the Deal
The final step in buying a luxury property is closing the deal. This involves several key tasks:
Final Walkthrough: Conduct a final walkthrough of the property to ensure it is in the agreed-upon condition.
Finalizing Financing: Secure your mortgage and ensure all financing details are in order.
Signing the Contract: Review and sign the sales contract, ensuring all terms and conditions are clearly outlined.

Youre getting a little close to saying Jews control the media with all their money
you're getting a little too close aggravating me also i have critical thinking skills so no thanks i'm alright without you deciding what my words mean for me. i think you can support religious freedom without supporting genocidal regimes in the name of claiming space.
anyway the us and uk fund white supremacy in israel and it is in the interest of white supremacists to commit genocide on minorities. the united states is israel's financial lifeline today and biggest source of international political support.
the us has given 3-4 billion usd in military aid to israel every year for the past decade.
in the 1930s, the quest to form Israel was well under the foot of the british, and then later united states-- until it had the military power to stand on 'it's own', a feat still impossible without the support of it's authoritative allies. it then declared independence and immediately went to war with Palestine's people attempting to take their land back from british/us backed militant settlers.
the british eventually "lightened" it's control to watch the force of creating israel from the sidelines, but not initially.
"The British 1939 White paper stipulated that Jewish immigration to Palestine was to be limited to 15,000 a year for the first five years, and would subsequently be contingent on Arab consent. Restrictions were also placed on the rights of Jews to buy land from Arabs. After this Ben-Gurion changed his policy towards the British, stating: "Peace in Palestine is not the best situation for thwarting the policy of the White Paper".[80] Ben-Gurion believed a peaceful solution with the Arabs had no chance and soon began preparing the Yishuv for war." his success in this endeavor later brought victory to Zionism
it's almost as if overwhelming someone's home land and trying to buy their houses off them doesn't typically go that well for anyone. and it was the british that ALLOWED them to go there.
because the british weren't letting more than 15,000 (still, a LOT of people) a year escape to palestine, this guy ben-gurion eventually formed an army to rebel against the british and sneak people past the border anyway, defying the order, although later encouraged jewish people to support the british army and volunteer in more military efforts.
but the speed at which people began occupying the land-- trying to buy land from people who didn't want to sell their land-- palestine began to deny consent. [arguably questionable if there ever was real consent to begin with] this led to it being taken by force.
Israel could not exist without the british military's interests in white supremecy. here's an image from 1936. even if they dissented due to the rate they wanted to enter palestine vs the rate they were allowed by the british, the british were enabling this to begin with.

"world war 1 left palestine, especially the countryside, deeply impoverished.[31] The Ottoman and then the Mandate authorities levied high taxes on farming and agricultural produce and during the 1920s and 1930s this together with a fall in prices, cheap imports, natural disasters and paltry harvests all contributed to the increasing indebtedness of the fellahin.[32] The rents paid by tenant fellah [palestine's farmers] increased sharply, owing to increased population density [of settlers], and growing [nonconsentual] transfer of land from Arabs to the Jewish settlement agencies, such as the Jewish National Fund, increased the number of fellahin evicted while also removing the land as a future source of livelihood.[3] "
"The Shaw Commission in 1930 had identified the existence of a class of 'embittered landless people' as a contributory factor to the preceding 1929 disturbances,[35]" palestine's people grew incredibly disenfranchised and unhoused at an alarming rate after 1931, "causing High Commissioner Wauchope to warn that this 'social peril ... would serve as a focus of discontent and might even result in serious disorders.'[35] David Ben-Gurion told mourners at a funeral held on 20 April 1936 for nine victims of rioting in Jaffa the previous day that Jews would only be safe "in communities which are 100% Jewish and built on Jewish land."[36][37]"
while affirming that, while they're occupying this land, while palestine's people are already being forced out of their homes and retaliating against occupational settlers, because they didn't want to sell their homes, that the """only way""" the settlers could live at peace is by committing ethnic cleansing of the land. it is layers upon layers of white supremacist colonialist ideals becoming propaganda fodder to rally civilians against fellow human beings in the fight over this earth. using the mourning and loss of life to entice violence and anger into action for corrupt causes.
"Economic factors played a major role in the outbreak of the Arab revolt.[14] Palestine's fellahin, the country's peasant farmers, made up over two-thirds of the indigenous Arab population and from the 1920s onwards they were pushed off the land in increasingly large numbers into urban environments where they often encountered only poverty and social marginalisation.[14] Many were crowded into shanty towns in Jaffa and Haifa where some found succour and encouragement in the teachings of the charismatic preacher Izz ad-Din al-Qassam who worked among the poor in Haifa.[14] The revolt was thus a popular uprising that produced its own leaders and developed into a national revolt.[14]"

Navigating the Landscape of Tax Preparation and Bookkeeping Services- A Guide to Choosing the Best Agencies
Tax preparation and bookkeeping are integral parts of running a successful business. However, for many entrepreneurs and business owners, these tasks can be daunting and time-consuming. That's where professional services come in handy. In cities like Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and NSW, agencies like Account Cloud offer comprehensive tax preparation and bookkeeping services to alleviate the burden on businesses. But with so many options available, how do you choose the best agency for your needs? Here's a guide to help you navigate the landscape:
1. Assess Your Needs: Before you start your search for a tax preparation and bookkeeping service agency, it's essential to assess your needs. Determine the scope of services you require, such as tax filing, payroll processing, financial reporting, or general bookkeeping. Understanding your requirements will help you narrow down your options and find agencies that specialize in the services you need.
2. Experience and Expertise: When entrusting your financial matters to a third-party agency, it's crucial to ensure they have the necessary experience and expertise. Look for agencies with a proven track record in tax preparation and bookkeeping services. Consider factors such as the number of years in business, client testimonials, and the qualifications of their team members.

3. Industry Specialization: Different industries have unique tax and accounting requirements. Whether you're in retail, hospitality, healthcare, or any other sector, consider choosing an agency that specializes in serving businesses similar to yours. Industry-specific knowledge can ensure compliance with relevant regulations and optimize tax strategies tailored to your business.
4. Technology and Innovation: The accounting landscape is continually evolving, with advancements in technology reshaping how financial tasks are performed. Seek out agencies that embrace technology and leverage innovative solutions to streamline processes and enhance accuracy. Cloud-based accounting platforms, automation tools, and data analytics can significantly improve efficiency and decision-making.
5. Communication and Accessibility: Effective communication is key to a successful partnership with a tax preparation and bookkeeping agency. Choose an agency that prioritizes clear and transparent communication, keeping you informed about your financial status and any regulatory changes that may affect your business. Additionally, consider their accessibility and responsiveness to inquiries or concerns.
6. Compliance and Security: Compliance with tax laws and regulations is non-negotiable when it comes to financial matters. Ensure that the agency you choose adheres to the highest standards of compliance and stays updated with the latest regulatory changes. Moreover, prioritize security measures to protect sensitive financial information against unauthorized access or data breaches.
7. Scalability and Flexibility: As your business grows, your accounting needs may evolve as well. Select a tax preparation and bookkeeping agency that can scale its services according to your business growth. Whether you're a small startup or a large enterprise, flexibility in service offerings and pricing structures ensures that you receive tailored solutions aligned with your current and future needs.
8. Cost and Value: While cost is undoubtedly a factor in the decision-making process, it's essential to consider the value proposition offered by the agency. Instead of solely focusing on the lowest price, evaluate the services, expertise, and support provided in relation to the cost. A higher upfront investment in quality services can often yield long-term benefits and cost savings through improved financial management.
Choosing the best tax preparation and bookkeeping services agency requires careful consideration of various factors, including your specific needs, the agency's experience and expertise, industry specialization, technology adoption, communication practices, compliance standards, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. By conducting thorough research and due diligence, you can find a trusted partner like Account Cloud to handle your financial affairs efficiently, allowing you to focus on growing your business with peace of mind.
