Chapter 1: introduction - Long summary of key information
-Day 1:
-Your first introduction to the Underdark is through a tunnel. It takes several minutes to head down this tunnel but you make it down. Destino is sitting in the throne.
-Destino says that they are the Prime of the Underdark, a place where dark, poison and ghost types have lived for hundreds of years. They claim it to be a prison because their people are not in the Underdark by choice. They also reveal that the Pokémon in the Underdark cannot go to the surface or they may die.
-They also mention the spirit realm, a place where spirits go to deal with any issues not allowing them to pass on. It’s similar to the regular world, however it shows opposite colours. Only ghost types can safely go into the spirit realm. Other Pokémon experience deadly side effects entering this realm.
-Destino also reveals that many of the residents are under level 30 as there’s no way of levelling up through battling. Many Pokémon cannot evolve into their final forms because of this restriction. Pokemon also need consent before using an evolution stone because the ore surrounding the walls of the Underdark are incredibly dangerous to use in such large amounts.
-A question was asked about the mural on the wall however Destino had no idea what it was about.
-Destino reveals their distrust for fairy types.
-They mention the structure of the Underdark, revealing that it has a aquifer, a forest, a field for growing crops and plenty of housing for all of the residents with new areas being dug out and built every day. They say that their ancestors figured out that sunstone ore has the same properties as the sun and can allow for plant growth.
-A spooky gengar named Felix scared Destino and stayed around for a bit. He’s Destino’s friend and works in the spirit realm as a spirit guide. Though it appears Felix annoys Destino, they still have a laugh from time to time. Felix reveals more information about the Spirit Realm and how he takes pride working there, even if the job can be tough sometimes.
-The pair mention about Roy, one of the two royal bisharp assistants around. Roy doesn’t talk much at all and is a lot sterner than his brother Hershel. Hershel is the kinder of the two brothers.
-It is then revealed that Destino believes that all the Pokémon asking them questions are from an ancient communication machine that creates a copy of the Pokémon you want to speak to and sends them off to that world. They have no idea that they arrived through a tunnel. They also believe nobody can get into the Underdark as there’s a magical barrier preventing anyone from coming in or going out.
-The night comes and Destino hears voices of Pokémon mentioning about destroying something. After being awoken, they become grumpy. However, when others mention the contents of the voices, Destino tells them to never speak of this again and goes back to sleep.
Day 2:
-Destino wakes up and begrudgingly carries out the responsibilities that were left out by their parents. This ranges from reading to children to dealing with resource trading and distribution. They make it clear that even if they may slightly enjoy being with the kids, they hate helping out as it’s not their responsibility.
-They mention that their parents go on resource gathering trips but have no idea where they go to find the resources.
-Destino reveals the story of how the dark and poison types were banished. A Drapion was best friends with a Hatterene and they were both leaders of an elite group. The hatterene had a sister who did something awful and was going to go on trial. She convinced the other leaders to let her sister go but the Drapion is not happy with this injustice.
-The Drapion finds out the Hatterene has been covering up her sister’s misdeeds for years. The Hatterene twists the Drapion’s words to make it appear that Dark and Poison types are evil and so a massive campaign to send them away happens. The ghost types, who were originally living in the Underdark, offer their home to the Dark and Poison types to be safe in and this is where they have been for almost 1000 years.
-They say this is the reason why fairy types are hated by the residents of the Underdark.
-Destino reveals that they are conflicted about their feelings of going to the surface. They dreamt of going when they were younger but now believes it is a stupid dream. However, they have expressed interest in seeing the night sky with their own eyes.
-When one Pokémon says they got down to the Underdark via a tunnel, Destino checks their room but finds nothing. It appears they almost wanted to find something. Another Pokémon also gives the idea of digging a new one but Destino laughs at that idea as there’s a magical barrier trapping all Pokémon.
-Destino heads to sleep.
Day 3:
-Destino has another dream with those voices, this time with a blurry vision to go with it. The phrase, “Time’s arrow neither stands still nor reverses. It just keep marching forward. You are running out of time,” is said after. They awaken with tears in their eyes. They avoid talking about it, claiming the tears are just eye sweat.
-Destino reveals that they know why the dreams are happening. They imply that they get visions of what is to come, however don’t know how to stop the visions.
-Destino says that their family likes to threaten others with death if they stand in their way. Destino also shows that they don’t like having to kill others.
-A magic anon turns Destino into a snorlax and their parents are on the other side of the door. Their parents want to give Destino a gift and their mother punches through the door. Luckily, Destino becomes their regular Absol self.
-Destino’s parents, Queen Karma and King Nox, appear to not have the best relationship, arguing as soon as Destino leaves their room. They reveal that they have got a special crystal for Destino. They do not mention where exactly they got it from but do say they got it specially commissioned from a Pokémon who collects z-crystals. It is revealed that z-crystals are incredibly rare as they are no longer used.
-After questioning, Destino mentions the communicator. Queen Karma and King Nox appear worried at this, saying that the communicator shouldn’t work. They avoid talking about it. A fairy type mentions the crystal is a z crystal and the King and Queen get aggressive. Destino says the Pokémon are copies and are not really there and the King and Queen go off to have a discussion.
-Destino answers a few questions, restating their distrust for fairy types. Hershel the Bisharp comes in and mentions how Destino should be learning how to use the z-crystal. Destino questions Hershel on the z-crystal but Hershel says that the information on where their parents got it from is classified.
-The King and Queen come back in and Queen Karma sends Destino to try out their z-crystals. The Queen questions where you other Pokémon have come from.
-After some questioning, and a fairy type revealing that everyone came from a tunnel that lead from the surface, the King gets rather aggressive. Queen Karma stops him and tells you all to never reveal the tunnel to Destino. They mention a King Flint allowing accidental tunnels into the Underdark and getting rather angry. They reveal that they go to the surface to gather resources for the Underdark.
-When asked why Destino should not be told about the tunnel to the surface, the Queen and King make it very clear that if Destino knew, they would head to the surface and likely get killed which would spiral into their citizens heading up and potentially dying. They’re doing this to protect their child and will eventually tell them one day when they have proved that they can be responsible.
-One of you tell them about Destino’s visions and the Queen gets excited that Destino’s future sight powers have awakened. They wish to question what they saw some time in the future.
-They mention a place called Whimsain, the place where fairy types are from. They also mention places called Mechania, Terrestria and Naaturo. They say Whimsain is a place where rare candies and other handcrafted goods are made, Mechania is created by the residents of Mechania, stones and items are forged in Terrestria and berries are grown in Naaturo. They also mention a King Spark and King Bolt.
-The king and Queen tire from the questions and go and try to hunt down you other Pokémon.
-Destino is with Hershel and Felix and is failing at using their z-crystal. Many Pokémon offer advice. One Pokémon even gives Destino a taste of aura control. Destino uses this to see the auras of different Pokémon. Their own is different shades of swirling blues, Hershel’s is shades of grey and darker brown and Felix’s is light purple and white.
-Hershel speaks with one Pokémon about his experience with Destino growing up and how Destino used to be a very happy child, telling stories of them going to the surface.
-A mysterious Pokémon appears to be watching Destino through an orb of swirling blues. They mention that they have been waiting long for something.
-Destino actually puts effort into using the z crystal and it works, however crackles with red lightning. Destino had doubts that they could do it but try to hide it behind confidence. They want to destroy the z-crystal but Hershel convinces them to not do that. They give the z-crystal to Hershel. Destino and Felix head to a cafe.
-After a long day of relaxing, Destino heads to sleep and sees the vision again, this time a lot more clear. Still fuzzy however. Destino complains at a non-existent force making them see the visions and heads back to sleep, tears once again in their eyes.
-The mysterious Pokémon from before mentions how Destino is refusing to take action for their visions. Another Pokémon speaks and suggests that they go and train the others. The first Pokémon tells them not to do anything and reveals the second Pokémon’s name is Set. The mysterious Pokémon looks towards a red swirling orb and suggests that there may be something they can do to push Destino in the right direction.
