Nah, hear me out on this one: Manifest little things to train the brain
One thing I really like to do to "train" my brain, is doing little manifestations
Like what I did a few minutes. I was getting off the shower, I was putting my clothes
Sometimes my cat happens to go on the other side of the door and meow so I let her in
But this time she was outside, but I wanted her to come, so I decided to manifestate it with LOA (aka Law Of Assumption)
I simply started to pretend she was already outside the door wanting to come in
But I thought to myself that I was only going to let her in when I finished putting my clothes on
Sure enough
When I put my shirt on she meowed outside the door
It's really that simple, it's like tricking your brain ig

A look inside the front cover of my Hobonichi Weeks. I have my word of the year, a place to put whatever Gloomies card is speaking to me in the moment, and my DopaMenu. The DopaMenu is a list of activities that increase dopamine in the brain, divided up into a menu that makes activity selection easier during times I have trouble with decision-making.
Note: Gloomies cards are by @petite-gloom .
DopaMenu concept is by YouTube channel, HowToADHD.

🌀 YOUR AFTERNOON MINDFUCK
How certain are you of your memories? No—really certain. How much did you add? How much are you still adding?
Are you remembering the memory, or the memory of the memory? Because if it’s the second one— the original’s already gone. Buried. Glitched. Dust in your neural archive.
Let’s be honest: You can’t even trust your memory of a few days ago. And you want to bet your sanity on what happened two years back? Cute.
Want a demo? You say her shirt was green. I say:
“You’re insane. Her shirt was blue. What’s wrong with you?” And now your grip slips.
I double down:
“I know—I was there. I helped her pick it out. I’m gonna tell her you forgot the color she wore.”
And suddenly— you’re questioning everything. Your brain’s already bending, already rebuilding the lie I gave it, because my certainty beat your uncertainty.
And the truth? I lied. Made it up on the spot.
And now it’s your memory. Contaminated. Corrupted. Owned.
Mental sleight of hand. Simple. Surgical. Cruel.
Just a little reminder: Your brain isn’t a vault. It’s a rumor mill.
Sleep well.

This is called incubation and it is the most critical part of any creative or productive process.
Hey. Your brain needs to de-frag. Literally it needs you to sit there and space out.
If you want your memory or executive function to improve, stare out a window at the skyline or sidewalk or trees or birds on the electrical wires for like 20+ minutes per day. (With no other stimulation like a podcast or TV if you can manage but hey baby steps innit). If you're fortunate enough to have safe outside with any bits of nature, go stare closely at a 1 meter square of grass and trip out on the bugs and shapes of grasses and stuff.
Literally this will make you smarter. Our brains HAVE TO HAVE this zone out time to do important stuff behind the scenes. This does not happen during sleep, it's something else.
That weird pressurized feeling you get sometimes might be your brain on no defrag.
Give your brain a Daily Dose Of De-Frag.

Another look into the front of my Hobonichi Weeks. I also include these therapy reminders in the front of my Weeks in order to remember to practice these things when I’m feeling overwhelmed/hyper-vigilant/triggered/scared/panicked. Habits (even ones that no longer serve you) can be difficult to break out of. These reminders will be waiting for me when I need them, so I can form new, healthier habits. This actually is a summary of what I’d worked on over the years, put together by my previous therapist so I could show it to my new therapist. At the bottom, I have space to write down other reminders/practices I may work on in therapy this year that I want to remember to apply outside of therapy.

6 Mental Tricks So Effective They Feel Like Cheating
Instant Mental Shortcuts to Trick Your Brain and Unlock the Doors to Productivity, Confidence, and Clarity
Get People to Like You—Without Trying Too Hard
Tumblr media
Ever heard of the Ben Franklin Effect? It's a psychological manipulation that does the opposite of what you'd think. When you ask someone to do something for you as a favor, they will actually like you. Sounds nuts, right? But it holds true because people subconsciously reason: "If I did this person a favor, then I must not dislike them."
Ben Franklin used this when faced with a political rival. Instead of trying to win the man over with flattery, he asked to borrow a rare book. The rival acquiesced—and somewhat warmed up to Franklin. People like to help. Ask for something small and you might get something larger.
Trim Overthinking with a 10-Second Rule Decision paralysis is all too real. If you're stymied by a decision, try this:
If the decision won't matter in a year, do it in 10 seconds.
If it will, toss a coin. Not so fate will make you a choice, but so that you'll listen to how you feel about what's chosen.
The moment the coin is flying—or lands—you'll generally know what you truly desire. It's not magic, it's clarity pretending to be chance.
Call Out Your Own Excuses for What They Are Most excuses are really euphemistic lies that we make up in order to avoid feeling uncomfortable. "I don't have time," "I'm too tired," or "It's not the right moment"—we've all said those at some time.
Here's a hack: Try to replace your excuse with, "It's not important enough to me." Example: "I didn't go to the gym yesterday" is replaced by "It wasn't an important enough priority for me yesterday." Feels a bit awkward? That's the point. It makes you take responsibility and lose the facade of powerlessness.
Zoom Out: Almost Nothing Matters as Much as You Think Here's a hard reality with a layer of wisdom: You're going to die, and most of what's stressing you out today won't matter in five years—or even one.
It doesn't sound good, but it's liberating. You're free to fail, to take a chance, and to try again. Stop over-personalizing the world. The thing you're holding back on? Do it. The regret of doing nothing is usually way worse than the bite of trying and missing.
You're Holding Back Because You're Unstimulated That tired feeling you get at 3 p.m.? It may not be physiological. Most of the time, it's mental drowsiness. Performing monotonous tasks, mindless scrolling, or passive routines numbs your mind.
The next time you're "exhausted," shake things up: go for a walk, begin a new creative project, listen to music that revitalizes you. Your energy isn't lost—it's misplaced.
Practice Reverse Psychology on Yourself Here's a trick you can play on your own mind: tell yourself you can't do something, and your brain will typically react by wanting to disprove you.
Muttering "I probably can't get through this exercise routine" might actually cause you to work harder. "I could never write a book" might plant the seed of an outline for a book. Doubt can be an odd spur—just don't use too much.
Final Thought These flash mental flips aren't tricks—they're techniques for beating your inner resistance. Your brain occasionally requires a bit of trickery to move out of its own way. Employ them smartlyâ€Ļ and perhaps with a touch of mischief.

Fun fact! You are scrolling rn because you don't want to do That Thing TM because it is Boring or Hard. Another fun fact! You don't have to go do That Thing after you're done scrolling. Go watch an episode of whatever tv show you like instead of scrolling. Boom you have an automatic timer of when your going to go do That Thing instead of 'euweughhh I have to go do the thing NOW' Go over that timer? Accidentally click 'next episode'?? Cool, timer has now reset! STOP SCROLLING AND DO SOMETHING GODDAMNIT

In addition to setting my top three priorities that would make me feel most satisfied with my week, I then divide any additional tasks up into Urgent and Not Urgent. If I have the time/energy to do additional tasks after my three top priorities, I look to my list of Urgent tasks.
This system has been working really well for me. My brain struggles to prioritize things, so getting it down on paper is a major help. This system has helped me to feel more productive and satisfied, and also less scattered.

after reading Redwall I have "mouse meals" because the way they described the simple nuts, berries, breads, and cheeses along with the mouse-sized charcuterie snack plates throughout the day really brought a whimsy and joy to eating a regular and balanced diet.

Acharya Chanakya didn’t conquer with weapons. He conquered with intelligence. In today’s world, the battlefield has shifted from the ground to the mind.
