For anonymous: Prompt: Nicepool crushing hard on Weapon X.
Author's Note: If given the chance, I will write Logan as the embodiment of a feral cat unless specifically told not to.
-
The usual thing about the TVA force hiring Deadpool and Wolverine to help handle cross universe dilemmas happens. Which was usually solved with a good fight, quips, and hauling their blood covered bodies back home for a greasy dinner.
Handling the situation with words…was abit more…problematic…
No one wanted to get near Weapon X to demand the variant go home and Deadpool, well, he had his own issues with his variant.
“The forces of fanfiction are against me, why are you fucking here?!”
“Good to see you too buddy!”
“Fucking how!”
Nicepool just shrugged and did a little wave over at Logan, who waved lightly back, “The forces of the multiverse are a mystery, death and life is at it’s own whimsy command. Much like love.”, and the man was now dreamily sighing and staring lovingly at the pissed off Wolverine variant.
Who was currently distracted by Wade’s Logan.
Logan was steadily just watching the other black clad mutant circle around him, both bristling.
Wade ignored that whole situation, they could take care of themselves like the big girls they are.
“You can not “Pretty Woman” this situation, Miss Lola over there is a man eater in the way Hannibal Lector is.”
“Oh, their name is Lola? That’s so pretty…Lola…”
“Is this what everyone back home feels like dealing with me, shit, I’m going to have to some apology letters or flowers when we get back home.”
“I should get them some flowers, what do you think they’re favorite is?”
“Lily’s, like the ones they use at funerals because that’s what is going to happen.”
Both Wolverines were on all fours and doing great imitations of cats now, hissing and teeth baring included.
“Awe, they are making friends!”, Nicepool clasped his hands in front of himself, sighing deeply again.
“Just fucking stick your dick in a trash compactor, it would end the same!”
“I can give them a better life, I can save them from the streets, I can be their hero.”, there seemed to be actual anime sparkles around the man…Wade waved it all away like a bad fart.
“Lola” was now purring and rubbing up against Logan, both chittering away like the ferret cousins they were.
Deadpool was just staring at his variant, his face being covered did not deter the aura of his annoyance being projected full force at the other, too bad Nicepool paid absolutely no attention to the waves of hatred sent his way, “You know what “Mr. Salt is too spicy for me”, go on, go confess your love,” he dramatically pointed over to the Wolverines, “go on, go-wait, where’s the other one?”
Logan shrugged nonchalantly, “He left.”
“What?”
“Yeah, he went home.”, he pointed at one of the doorways usually made from the TVA for dimensional travel, “I think he wants me to follow him.”
“Nope, I kidnapped you fair and square, we have a dog and rent together now, so you are not going anywhere. I’ve gotten too used to stealing your body heat at night. I’ve got no body hair to keep me warm, Lo, you’ve got too much, it’s a perfect balance, we can’t mess with the balance.”
Nicepool took a deep loud breath, interrupting the other two as he placed his hand on Wade’s shoulder, who just shrugged it off, “I know what I should do now, wish me luck,” he then turned and went through the gateway like a soldier on a mission, the entryway closing behind him in a zip of light.
“Wow,” Deadpool clapped his hands together once, “he is going to be murdered. Violently. Lola is going to use his thighs and squeeze his head like a watermelon in absolute viscous glee…I’m sorta jealous that’s how that cheery fuck will go out this time,” he turned toward his partner, “will you-“
“-I’m not getting your rotted out brain shit all over my crotch.”
“Fucking damn it!”
-Lola comes from the lyrics, “Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl.”

HOLDING ON TO HEARTACHE
rudy parra x reader
PART 2
Tumblr media
Summary: when rudy becomes attached to his work, he startes to neglect you. why did it finish like that?
word count: 1k
warnings: sfw, angst, mean rudy, emotional neglect, slight violence, slurs, no use pf y/n just you, argument, guilt.
this is just for the sake of the story i absolutely hate any type of abuse and don't support it, maybe reader won't forgive him now 😈 dhehehe
"you know that the [party] is over when you're standing in an empty space alone "
He knew he shouldn't have said that. Hell, he knew he probably wouldn't see you again after what he said. Yet, he couldn't extinguish the tiny flame of hope that burned within him. He believed that he would find you there, sitting in your usual spot amidst the aftermath of your fights - a place where hugs, kisses, and sweet nothings could mend the misunderstandings.
However, as he pushed open the door to his headquarters this time, he wasn't surprised to find the room empty. The faint lingering scent of your perfume tormented his senses, choking the air out of his lungs. He sighed heavily, taking in the chaotic sight before him - the disheveled room, the sheets strewn across the floor, the shattered lamp. Fixing those material damages would have to wait. He noticed the empty closet, with no trace of your belongings among the shelves.
Rudy sighed, frustration seeping into his every fiber. He knew he was in the wrong side, but he couldn't help himself. The weight of his responsibilities had been bearing down on him, more burdensome than he had anticipated upon his promotion to sergeant. He loved his job, cherishing the honor it brought, but it also demanded a level of mental and emotional preparedness that he struggled to maintain.
He was a man who wore his heart on his sleeve, always sweet, gentle, and helpful. However, since his promotion, those qualities had slowly begun to fade in the face of increasing stress. Rudy was overwhelmed, striving diligently to fulfill every command and requirement. He had little time for himself, let alone for you. Although he would occasionally manage to show some sweetness, like a fleeting kiss on your forehead before bed, the growing distance caused by work started to take its toll.
Things took a turn for the worse when Colonel Vargas decided to send you to another unit, TF141. While they were your allies, the fact that Rudy seemed indifferent to your departure intensified your rage. His focus was solely on reports, mission plans, and weapons, seemingly more interested in pushing the cartel to it's downfall than caring for you. He neither asked nor questioned how long you would be away; he simply approved the transfer and jotted down some notes in his reports.
Rudy had become completely consumed by his job. You rarely saw him, and when you did, he was either surrounded by soldiers or engrossed in paperwork. No matter how hard you tried to engage him in conversation, catch his attention, or prepare his favorite meals, he always dismissed your acts, responding with mere nods and dismissive murmurs of "mm..yeah mi vida."
**
When you finally returned from your mission, you were ready for war - a battle against the man you loved and the man you despised. You had endured enough. For two weeks, Rudy had seemingly forgotten about your existence. He didn't call even once. When you walked into his office, he was in a terrible state, typing on his laptop. He oblivious to your presence and the pain etched across your face.
Sighing deeply, you tossed your helmet onto the nearby couch, glaring at him. Only then did he finally glance up, startled, nearly choking on his coffee.
"Jesus, mi vida! When did you come back?"
His weary, dark eyes were puffy, with dark circles underneath - evidence of countless sleepless nights. He blinked, rubbing his face in frustration as he most likely battled fatigue, continuing to type in a mechanical manner.
"A few minutes ago," you replied tersely, your voice filled with a mixture of disheartenment and anger.
He simply nodded, not bothering to look at you or inquire about your well-being. "Mm...alright. I'll see you around, then."
That was the final straw. In a fit of rage and hurt, you stormed over to his seat and slapped him, unable to contain your emotions any longer. Rudy stared at you, a mix of dumbfoundedness and irritation crossing his face.
"wha... what the hell is your problem?!"
He clutched your wrist tightly, his grip unyielding. A whine escaped your lips as you struggled to break free from his iron grasp.
"You ignored me for months! You're a fucking moron," you spat, your voice quivering with hurt.
His grip only tightened, leaving you to fear it might leave bruises. Pushing his chair back forcefully, he pinned you against the wall, your head colliding with the unyielding surface. He glared at you, eyes filled with venom and hatred, before uttering words he would soon regret. Tears streamed down your cheeks as you mustered up the strength to fight back.
"Maybe if you weren't such a bitch about it, I'd be interested in you. I'd be happier if I never met you in the first place. You're always so whiny and needy, seeking attention and incapable of respecting that I have work and obligations behind my back... fucking whore."
Only after the words had escaped his lips did he realize just how far he had gone. The hurt look on your face and the gaze in your eyes served as painful reminders of his grievous error. You pushed him away, fleeing from the room while he stood there, swallowed by a sea of remorse. He called out to you, his voice filled with desperation, watching as you ran down the hallway.
"Mi... Mi vida, please, I am sorry..."
Unfortunately for him, some wounds cannot be healed with a simple apology. Rudy groaned in frustration, clutching his fist and striking the wall, the pain in his knuckles fading in comparison to the guilt that washed over him. He knew he hadn't been providing you with enough love and attention, and he felt terrible about it, but it seemed as though he couldn't do anything to change the path they were on. Caught between the potential loss of his job or losing you, fate had already made its decision.
To be continued...?
Tumblr media
note: this isn't Rudy's typical behavior,i know. I wanted to write something different and out of his charachter but i feel like i messed up a little. Anyway, this one isn't as angst as my others are. I hope y'all like it, i kinda had something different in mind, the emotional neglect can be different than how i portrayed it, and what I've written might not be considered as so. Be kind please, i am still not as good and i this is me trying :')
ily <3 shall i write a comfort one where he apologizes ?

Can we stop calling The Punisher a hero?
I'm sick and tired of the glorification of The Punisher. Frank Castle is a sick man whose happy place is being in a war and it doesn't really matter what or who he's warring against. He never started this crusade for revenge. If it was for revenge, then he would've gone home like 3 weeks in to Punishering it up.
Frank Castle is not a hero. He’s not some tough-as-nails, misunderstood anti-hero. He’s not some tough teeth gritting vigilante with a heart of gold. You're thinking of Wolverine. No, he’s a murderer. Plain and simple. That’s his whole thing. That’s what he does. That’s all he does. He doesn’t fight for justice, he doesn’t save people; he kills. And yet, people still put him on this twisted pedestal, like he’s the symbol of the moral gray and justification. And I’m so sick of it.
Yeah, sure, this is the Marvel Universe, where logic bends, where guys in tights throw buildings and teenagers can swing between skyscrapers like it’s no big deal. Ethics get fuzzy when you have gods and mutants and billionaire playboys. But what Frank does goes beyond all of that. Because Frank Castle is a bad man. A sick man. A man whose entire life is wrapped up in a never-ending war he never really wanted to end.
He lives in a van or warehouse full of guns and weapons, and he’s still out there, free, because he's too violent, too ruthless for anyone to deal with. Nobody stops him. Nobody can truly stop him. Not because he's some anti-hero with a tragic backstory. Once again, you're thinking of Wolverine. It's because he's a walking, talking, killing machine who’ll unload a clip in your face before you even think about it. People think he’s a badass. They think he’s cool. No. He’s a psychopath. A man who is only happy and defines himself by being in the middle of a war.
Don’t get me wrong; I like the character. I really do. But, I read his comics the way you might watch a true crime documentary about Jeffrey Dahmer. You’re not rooting for Dahmer. You’re horrified by him. But you’re fascinated. You’re trying to understand what makes a person tick when their clock is so broken. That’s The Punisher. There’s something raw, something almost cathartic about watching one man wage his own war against crime with no empathy, no mercy, just a hell of a lot of ultraviolence. And yeah, everyone gets in that mood every once in a while.
But here’s what gets me: people out there, actual people, glorify this. They paint his skull on their cars, their jackets, their walls. They act like he’s some kind of symbol of tough love or real justice. But Frank Castle would hate that. He’s said it himself — "Captain America would love to have you. I would not." He despises anyone who sees him as a role model because he knows what he is. He’s not confused. He’s not conflicted. He’s not trying to be a better person. One more time, you're thinking of Wolverine. Frank Castle is a monster.
And he knows it.
So let’s call it out. Call out the people who put Frank Castle on a pedestal like he’s something to aspire to. You wanna read a tough teeth gritting vigilante? Go read Frank Miller’s Batman or Daredevil. You want someone morally gray, someone who actually grapples with the weight of what they do? Check out Moon Knight. But if you want to peer into the mind of a deeply broken, deeply dangerous man, then yeah, read The Punisher. Just don’t fool yourself into thinking he’s anything other than what he is: a guy who likes to kill people, who lives to kill people, and who’s damn good at it.
Frank Castle is not a hero. And he never will be.

Astarion: You're - you're here. Thank goodness, I was worried about you. You looked a little ill last night, but you've certainly recovered. Kyvir: Ill? You killed me! Astarion: 'Killed' feels like a strong word. Not many corpses have your vigour. Now, I admit, I got carried away last night. I apologise. But look at you now - perfectly healthy! So let's not fall out over this. We still need each other, after all. Kyvir: You're right, unfortunately. I can't lose any allies. Astarion: That's the spirit! A team once again. And of course, what happened last night shall never be repeated. Kyvir: And the next time you get hungry? Who will you bite then? Astarion: No innocents, you have my word. Only villains that we need to kill anyway. After all, you know what I am now. I can fight with all my weapons - teeth included. And if I happen to drain the occasional bandit during a fight, what's the harm? They're just as dead. Kyvir: Look, I'm not against you feeding on me, but only if we talk about it first. Astarion: Of course! That sounds eminently reasonable. I shall wait patiently until you suggest we... dine together. But until then: no more late-night surprises, you have my word on that.
Stop, they're so funny. I love how on being resurrected you can immediately go over to Astarion like "My dude the fuck." I also love how no one else in the party comments on how you fully died? What, did they not notice? I used Astarion's Scroll of Revivify, so maybe no one else did see.
I do think that Astarion was actually worried. He didn't mean to kill the group leader! And it is entirely possible that he legitimately didn't realize he'd killed you at first; he would've been a bit distracted, it might have taken some time for him to notice. Which honestly makes it even funnier that when you confront him about it he's like "Oh well killed is a strong word... You're fine now... It doesn't even matter..." Astarion's tendency to try to talk his way out of things with his 10 charisma is consistently fantastic and this is one of the times where it's funny rather than deeply sad. Also I'm gonna have to make a character at some point who'll just punch him. Punching him is an extremely fair response to him draining you dry after promising that he'll only take a teeny tiny bit of your blood. Kyvir's too much of a freak for that, but maybe when I make another Durge to kiss Gale with... It'd be great if there was an option to make a snarky comment when he promises that what happened last night will never happen again, just because he also promised that he'd only take a little bit of blood and look what happened!
I also love how even if Astarion kills you you can still agree to let him drink from you when you say he can going forward despite how grudging your forgiveness for the killing has to be. "I mean yeah you murdered me and fuck you for that, but I guess if you want my blood that's fine!" You'd expect that to be a deal-breaker, but nah, it's all cool here!

Bad Romance - Joaquin Torres X Reader
Tumblr media
Song: Bad Romance - (961) lady gaga - bad romance ( s l o w e d ) - YouTube
Summary: The reader is an enhanced individual with the ability to replicate other people’s abilities. A member of the Avengers, she has been working alongside Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes to investigate the Flag Smashers but the man calling himself the next Captain America poses an obstacle when he takes interest in her abilities.
Author’s Note: Hello! So this is my first time posting a fic I've written. I’ve been writing since 2018 but never had the courage to post anything so I hope you all enjoy my story. Torres has only been in ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ for like five minutes but I’m in love with him. There obviously isn’t enough fiction out there about him so I took it upon myself to write one. This is an idea I came up with in my head, aside from the plot of the show. Listen to the song for added effect. I’ve inserted timings as well :)
Pairing: Joaquin Torres X Fem!Reader
Warnings: TFATWS SPOILERS, Canon-level Violence, blood, romance
Word count: 2.5K
Darkness is all you’ve known these past hours.
It’s been almost twenty-four hours since you’ve last had contact with anyone. Sam would usually check in with you about now, but that didn’t seem a likely possibility.
Your right eye is almost swollen shut and you’re pretty confident that you have a few broken ribs from how difficult breathing is. The sound of metal creaking echoes in the empty room as you rattle your restraints.
You’ve been quite literally chained to the wall.
They weren’t taking any precautions.
Especially after witnessing the dozen agents you could take down all by yourself.
Leaning against the wall, you try to reach some semblance of comfort, laying some of your weight against the hard-rock. Your neck burns from the collar they attached when you caught you off-guard.
It was during a recon mission, you were chasing a lead about the Flag Smashers’ next meet up when they showed. Half a dozen armed men in tactical gear.
They snagged a collar on you, disabling your powers.
You didn’t anticipate this.
All you heard was a piercing noise and then you blacked out.
You couldn’t access your powers as soon as that light buzzed. Trying to summon fire warranted a little electric shock to your system. Little, meaning severe enough to take down an elephant.
Yeah, so getting out of here would be tricky.
Isn’t it always?
Five guards have remained in the room for the past two days, monitoring, watching.
For what?
You have only the slightest idea why.
The double doors which have remained close for the past two days creak open. The blue uniform is familiar to you but the face donning the outfit is not. He’s an imposter wearing a costume, a mock of the real thing. John Walker, along with his so-called ‘American squadron’, had grabbed you as a statement. Sam and Bucky certainly weren’t going to stay out of it because someone told them to. You all followed a code, to protect those who couldn’t fight for themselves.
“Hello, Y/N, it's been a while since we met last...I’m sorry for the way you were handled on the way here but it was the only way I could get to talk to you.”, he said, looking at the bruises beginning to form.
He talked nonchalantly as if this were a normal conversation. Your wrists were raw from pulling away from the cuffs, clothes covered in dirt and dried blood. He strode up to you, pulling his helmet off and placing it carefully on a metal crate.
“Now, I know Bucky and Sam had a lot to say about me, but you, you were always silent. I thought we had an understanding.”
‘An understanding?’
You refuse to look at him.
“You talk big words for someone who couldn’t begin to understand the legacy of that uniform.”
“I earned this! I put in the work. All they want is someone to look up to. To show them that justice still exists.”, he paces in front of you.
“Justice. Is it?”, your eyes narrow.
He pauses in thought, seething with internalised spite. Pacing the floor, he turns his back to you.
“Have you had time to think about my question?”
You remain silent, glaring at his mockery of Steve’s uniform.
“No? Okay. That’s fine,”, he whispered.
Walker signalled for a guard to open the doors once more and two more men entered, dragging someone along. You squint your eyes to identify the person as they dump them in front of you.
“No”, you whispered desperately, your breath caught in your throat.
You spot Joaquin’s dark hair and tan complexion, more so, the blood staining his clothes. The men dragged Joaquin next to Walker, letting him slump to the floor. From what you could see, he had been beaten pretty badly, the bruises already beginning to form on his face. His hands are cuffed behind him and he’s unable to hold his own weight.
Panic fills Torres as he notices the chains securing you to the wall. The last he heard over the coms was a struggle. He and Sam had been surveilling to get anything they could on your kidnappers.
You could only hear the rapid beating of your heart in your throat as blood rushed to your face. Your breathing quickens as you don’t quite know what will happen next.
John broke the silence,
“I’m going to ask you again.”
“Then, I'm going to count from three.”, he said, pulling a silencer out from his waistband and cocking it at Joaquin who rested on his knees.
“What are you?”
You stare at him incredulously, unresponsive.
You look down at Joaquin as he gazes up at you, helpless to move with guns trained on you. He’s telling you to stop, to lie, to do anything but give yourself up.
“What answer do you want?”, you asked, using all your strength to lift your head up.
“You want me to say I’m a freak? A mutant? An experiment? What good does that do you? Everyone knows it.”, you huff, sharpening your glare.
He stares down at Joaquin and kicks his foot out against the ground, clicking his tongue. Walker threw his foot into Joaquin’s back, pushing him into the floor.
“Not that.”
You watch as he points the gun harder.
“Tell me. What. You. Are.”, he grits out.
You clench your jaw hard, shutting your eyes tightly. A burning sensation fights in your chest, spreading to your arms. You suck in a breath desperately, a whimper tearing from your throat as your head drops.
The click of the safety echoes loudly.
(1:26s of the song)
Your eyes shoot open, blazing red and as the chains snap free from the wall. The metal clangs loudly against the floor, triggering the five weapons now pointed at your chest. A surge of fire ignites as you swipe your leg, knocking the agents back. The two standing closest raise their guns as you tilt your head and launch a blast of fire from your hand. The next agent replaces him, firing his gun consecutively, but you strut towards him, swiping them away with blasts omitting from your hands. You send a roundhouse kick with a wall of fire, propelling him through the exit. The remaining three encircle you with their weapons, clicking the safety off.
Your hands burn, glowing red with the heightening energy,
“Okay, you got me.”
You raise your hands in surrender as one of them steps towards. Faltering a step, you inhale deeply as he grabs your arm. Once he sets a hand on you, you exhale, breathing out a stream of fire. You twirl in a circle, the fire pushing them back and blocking their sight of you as they flinch from the heat. Dropping to the floor, you strike the cement and crack the surface. The building’s structure shakes as a cloud of energy dissipates from the contact, incapacitating the last of the soldiers.
Walker fixes his gun on Joaquin but you focus your glare on him. You wait as he stares at you, knowing he has the advantage.
"I'd stop right now, if I were you."
You silently stare at him with blazing fire burning in your orbs. The clicking of the safety reverberates in your mind as all movement stops. The muzzle of the gun is inches away from Joaquin's head.
“Alright, you’ve had your show now.”
You've got mere seconds to make a decision here.
He remains still, as Joaquin’s eyes meet yours and you nod your head slightly.
It’ll be okay because you’d never let anything happen to each other.
"Walker, you've made your point. Look, it's me you really want, not Torres.", You snipped, grabbing his attention.
Joaquin’s heart raced faster,
What were you doing?
You could see the gears turning in Walker’s head, his eyebrows perk up.
"C'mon, this whole thing was to get to me, right? To weaponize me. It's my power. So take it. Just let him go."
Walker pauses in thought,
"I don't think I will."
You knew that'd be his answer but he was too busy looking at you to notice anything else. Joaquin threw his leg out, kicking Walker’s shin to knock him off his centre.
Moving quickly, you roundhouse, knocking the gun from his hand and driving your foot into his knee. He lets out a pained yell, ducking your elbow jab and rolling behind you. You roll forwards, swooping your flames across the floor to knock Walker on his back. He rolls to the side, standing again to flick open a compact switch from his pocket. He struggles for a moment as you strut over, but he presses the button down with conviction.
You falter in your steps as a loud piercing sound breaches your cranium and hearing. It’s overwhelming, threatening to shatter your skull. A whimper falls from your mouth as both hands grasp your head. You can faintly hear Joaquin yelling your name from behind. The pain is unbearable. Joaquin bangs the cuffs on a metal crate behind him, forcing them to break.
Your vision blurs as you clumsily move towards Walker. Once you’re close enough to him, you throw an uncoordinated right hook but he catches it and returns with a kick to your chest, knocking you to the floor. The pain continues, eliciting a moan from you as it grows worse with each second. Joaquin watches as you scream in agony, sprinting towards Walker and tackling him to the floor. Walker loses the switch from his hand, punching Joaquin in the jaw to get him off. Joaquin hisses as his head hits the floor, but he’s quickly grappling for the switch before Walker can get his hands on it. Scanning the floor, he sights it inches away from where you’re curled up in a ball. He’s crawling over to make it but a grip on his shoulder halts him, flipping him over and punching him repeatedly.
Over the intense clanging, you see black dots form in your sight as you want to pass out. You hear grunts nearby and the sound of a fist making contact with skin. You flicker your eyes upward to see Walker’s figure looming over someone.
‘Joaquin...where’s Joaquin?’
You close your eyes and force yourself up, struggling to gain your bearings. Upon opening your eyes, you notice something within your reach. Crawling forward, your fingers barely touch it. You try again and again before you feel the metal beneath your fingertips. Finally, you have it in your hands and crush it. The metal crunches and the ringing ceases. A sigh of relief leaves your mouth as you push yourself off the floor.
More coherent now, you angrily send a blast of energy to knock Walker off of Joaquin. Scrambling off the floor, he brings his fists in front of him, but you've already there, standing in front of him.
"I’m going to count from three.”, you said.
Striking a wave in his direction, you blast fire into his chest, your eyes imbuing fluttering embers.
‘Three’
You continue your onslaught, attacking him with multiple blows of rage.
Your figure looms over Walker, blocking Joaquin from his sight.
‘Two’
Your hands emit a fiery glow as you project flames, igniting a huge blast which sends Walker crashing through the window and down below.
‘One’
Gazing down the terrace, you saw Walker’s unconscious body laying on the crushed roof of a car. The authorities would show up eventually.
Looking back inside, you finally start to feel the adrenaline rush declining. You move away from the window to find Torres leaning against a crate. Joaquin's face is bruised and cut-up as he holds his side with a grimace.
"Joaquin, are you okay?!",
You rush over to hold his other arm, scanning him for serious injuries.
He stops your moving hands to grip them,
"(Y/N), I'm okay, I'm okay. It's you I'm worried about. You almost died. How did you do that?", Joaquin asked, concern lingering in his eyes at the magnitude of your powers.
"I-I don't know. I guess my powers have always been linked to my emotions and then you were in danger. It was kind of instinctive, you know?"
"I could never let anything happen to you. Never.", She whispered silently, not noticing if he had caught it.
Joaquin moved to grasp her chin in his hand, pulling her head up so he could look into her eyes.
"You saved me."
You glanced over his face and the clear pain he was hiding from his injuries.
"You have no idea how glad I am that you're okay. I-I was afraid...It shouldn't have been you.", You said to Joaquin, tears glinting in your sight.
"I'm not going anywhere. The last thing I want to do is hurt you.", he said, moving closer as your eyes meet his deep and endearing gaze.
"We should call Sam.", You suggested.
"I'll call him later."
Yours eyes met as he leaned his forehead on yours. You inhaled deeply as he gripped your hands tightly as if you would fall out of his grasp. Joaquin's arms encircle your waist and pull you in his embrace. Your arms rest around his neck, nestling your head against his shoulder.
You hold each other tightly in a moment of calm, seeking comfort from that person. The one person you would always seek out.
You pull away, but his arms remain around your waist.
"You're so beautiful.", He whispers.
Your breathing shudders for a second before you decide to go for it,
"I-I love you, Joaquin."
You gauge his reaction as his eyes widen slightly. He leans in and guides his lips to yours. He kissed you slowly and passionately, his hands still gripping your waist. You sigh and stand on your tip-toes, tugging the hairs on the back of Joaquin's neck to bring him closer. You both pause, gasping for air for a moment. Kisses linger in between breaths as you both wind down from the intense 24 hours you've had, emotionally and physically.
"For the record, I love you too.", He grins, laughing at your eye roll.
"I didn't quite catch that, why don't you show me again?", You winked, biting your lip as his arms swooped around you again and tugged you closer.
Barely brushing your lips, he looks between your eyes and then your lips.
"I think we can arrange that."
Your breath catches as your lips brush his. You smiled, closing your eyes, as does Joaquin. You swayed in his arms as his lips encased yours once more.
Suddenly, red and blue flashing lights breach your vision from below. Sirens surrounded you both. You separated, glancing outside the broken window.
Police cars surrounded the building. Reinforcements had arrived. His hand still grips yours and you motion to help him take some of his weight, wrapping an arm around his waist.
"We should get of here.", You pushed open the door to exit down a flight of stairs.
"Yeah.", Joaquin replied, grinning down at you as you walked out together.

Your writing is so good! Could I request some cutesy romantic Reader x Hyrule and or Reader x Legend? Thank you 💙
Masterlist
You may request what you want!
This request made my heart melt but it was hard to choose between both of them. I might do something for the other later.
I picked Reader x Legend! This boy is only soft for a few people and that means you too!
Content under the cut!
You sigh in contentment and let the sun's warm rays wash over you like a blanket.
It's a quiet moment.
Half of the boys went to go fishing while the going had slowed down and you had taken the opportunity to relax from all their organic and natural chaos.
Those who stayed behind were Sky (who had taken a nap much like you were trying to do), Warrior and Four (who were doing weapon maintenance) and Legend.
"Hey... Are you awake?" A soft voice whispers from above you. It's soft and quiet, the kind of voice one uses when they don't wish to disturb the other person too much. But you know who it belongs to and it naturally brings a smile to your face.
"Yes love, what's up?" You lift your arm a bit over your eyes to look at the young man.
Legend tries to hide the small smile that threatens to break across his face and gently sits on his knees next to you. "I didn't want to wake you."
"I wasn't asleep to begin with. Just resting my eyes." You chuckle slightly and sit up with your elbows. "Did you need something?"
"No, no, don't get up." He puts his hands in front of him to stop you from moving any further. "You looked comfortable. I just...Um..."
He trails off and you wait for him to gather his thoughts. His eyes trail away from you and down to his hands after a moment, his body language telling you that he's nervous and whatever he was going to tell you makes him feel awkward.
You grin and lift both of your arms up, an invitation to join on against the cool grass under the shade of the tree.
"Hug. I want cuddles." You say.
Legend's face flushes slightly at the sight of you and he scrunches up his nose. "Are you sure?"
"Yes. Let me love you." You grab his arm and gently tug him in your direction. You're quick to place his head by your collar bone and wrap your arms around him comfortably, resting once again for the sake of resting.
"The others are looking." He mumbles in your ear.
"Let the look, they're probably jealous that I'm with you." You grin and pull off his hat, setting it aside as you waste no time in running your fingers through your boyfriend's hair.
Instantly, he relaxes against you and hides his face against the crook of your neck. "You are quite the catch."
"I'm amazing, I know."
Legend chuckled deeply, in a tired and content way before speaking. "And you're so smart and good and perfect and nice and caring and-"
"You're ridiculous." You snort and place a kiss on his temple. "Is there something that you wanted to ask me or was this what you wanted?"
You feel him tense slightly at your accusation and gently card your finger through his hair still, waiting for him to respond and silently letting him know that you're not upset.
In your mind, you have no reason to be upset. Nothing is here to be upset about. But you know your boyfriend very well at this point. He'd think that he's tricked you into this, manipulated you into giving him any love at all. Or that he is undeserving of simple tenderness with a loved one, no matter what the circumstance is.
You've been trying to break him out of that kind of thinking and you think you're beginning to see some progress- but it's very slow going.
"Link?" You whisper out of respect for the others who are within ear shot. "Everything ok?"
He sighs and you feel him relax once more against you. "Yeah, I'm ok... I didn't want to wake you up but I wanted cuddles. That's all. You beat me to it though."
You laugh a little and hug him tighter. "Ridiculous."
"I can leave if it's weird." He begins to push himself away from you.
You roll over instead, switching your positions and trapping him with your weight. "We're in a relationship, sir." You grin and rub your nose against his for cute points. "While I appreciate the thought, I wouldn't have cared if you woke me up for this. This is freely given and can be freely taken. You don't have to ask me, ok?"
"I just didn't want-" Legend argues but it dies on his tongue before he can get the whole thought out. He sighs and opens up his arm to let you rest against him completely. "Fine. You win. I'm not winning this, am I?"
"Nope." You grin and this time rest your head against his chest. With one arm you reach over to where you just were and take his hat, half hazzardly throwing it over your face to block out the slight. "I'm taking a nap."
You feel his snort rather than hear it and Legend takes his turn to run his fingers through your hair, being careful to not snag his rings on your hair. The motion begins lulling you into a deeper relaxed state and you start to lose consciousness of the world around you.
Before you lose consciousness completely though, you swear you feel him kiss the top of your head and whisper. "I love you, you know that."
"I love you too." You hum and drift to sleep.
"The Veteran is a sap." Legend hears Warrior chuckle from the other side of the camp and scowls in his general direction.
"I'll fight you, Captain." He growls.
"Tough words for someone who can't get up without waking them." Warrior raises an eyebrow, and gestures to you.
Legend rolls his eyes and hugs your closer, as if that would protect from anything having to do with the Captain. "You better not wake them up."
"You don't wake them up. They're on top of you." Four snorts and puts his things away. "It's sweet Legend, don't take anything the Captain says to heart. He's just jealous that you have a stable love life."
Warrior turns to Four instead. "My love life is not that bad."
"Says Mr. Oh- No- It's- Her, every time we stop at the nearest inn." Four snorts.
"That not my love life, those are different circumstances entirely."
"Sure they are."
"Smithy, I'll fight you. So help me-"
"With what? You're noodle arms? Compared to me?"
"I'll throw into Death Mountain."
"You couldn't."
"Are you two done?" Sky growls out of the blue, effectively shutting the both of them up.
"Yes, Sky."
"Sorry Sky."
Legend chuckles at what he'd call karma for today and glances down at you as you sleep against him.
Man, he's lucky to have found you.

firebending [zuko]
Tumblr media
Pairing: Zuko x reader
Requested?: Yes! By a wonderful anon: “your zuko fics are all so well-written! I have a request for a firebender reader who hates the fire nation and was never trained in the art of fighting. then she/they join the gaang and learns firebending with aang from zuko. it’s awkward between them at first but cue ~ romance ~”
Summary: If someone told you that you’d end up dating the Fire Nation prince one day, you would’ve laughed in their face. If only you knew how right they were.
wc. ~5.2k
.masterlist.
~
When you first joined the Gaang, everyone expected you and Katara to hate each other. After all, you were from the Fire Nation and everybody knew Katara was the biggest anti-Fire Nation enthusiast there ever was.
They were quickly proven wrong when you didn’t fight against Katara’s harsh remarks, instead agreeing with them and even adding more scathing words of your own to show your distaste towards the Fire Nation. Since joining them, you never wore anything related to the Fire Nation. Nothing that is, with the exception of an elaborate hairpiece that your mother had left you. The hairpiece never left your body, the sunstone in the middle of it shining from its place on your head.
Escaping Ba Sing Se (and therefore the Earth Kingdom) had simultaneously been the best and worst thing that had happened to you. You were glad that Aang was alive, obviously, but being back in Fire Nation clothing was making you anxious.
Ever since the battle in the catacombs, you had been avoiding everyone. You had revealed your firebending in a panic, shooting a strong blast of fire at the banished prince as he snuck up on Katara. He had been taken off guard just long enough for you to subdue him before he realized that you didn’t know what you were doing.
There had been no time for Katara to question you after that. You had all fled and met up with her father, Hakoda, before seizing a Fire Nation ship to use as a disguise. As soon as you stepped foot on the ship, you had scrambled to an empty room and locked yourself inside. You had ignored Katara’s pleas for you to open the door, never once moving from your spot unless it was to use the bathroom or to get the tray of food that you knew had been placed at your door.
No one had known you were a firebender, and the initial shock eventually wore off as everyone found themselves missing your presence. It wasn’t until Aang woke up that you finally emerged.
~
“(Y/N)?” Sokka asked hesitantly, knocking softly on your door.
“Go away!” was the muffled reply that came from your room.
“Nope. I think Aang wants to see you.”
Sokka waited for a few seconds before the door swung open, reveling you standing there. You were wearing your Earth Kingdom clothes, trying to delay the inevitable. You looked up at him, making his heart hurt when he noticed the exhaustion in your eyes.
“Is he really awake?” you asked, your voice small. Sokka nodded.
“Hurry up and get changed. He’s on the deck.”
You nodded softly before closing the door. You opened it again a few minutes later, now dressed in red. As much as Sokka hated to admit it, you looked good in red. The Fire Nation was your home, after all. You followed him up to the deck, your finger nimbly twisting part of your hair into a knot big enough for your hairpiece.
“(Y/N)!” Aang yelled when you came into view. He launched himself at you and you caught him with a small “oof”. You giggled softly as you rubbed his head, making his hair stick up in all directions.
“Aang!” you cried in reply. “You have hair!”
Aang made a funny face at your words before fixing his hair. “Yeah, I guess I was out longer than I thought.”
You leaned down and swept the boy up into another hug, pulling him close as you held tears back. “I’m so glad you’re okay Aang. I don’t know what we would’ve done if you-”
“Don’t worry! Look at me, I’m fine!” Aang said, trying to make you feel better. He led you over to where everyone else was, Katara looking up and smiling softly as you glanced at her. “They also told me about your firebending! How come you never told us?’
You reeled back in shock, looking around wildly as everyone heard Aang’s word. When there were no negative reactions, you relaxed slightly.
“Everyone already knows huh?” you asked drily, being met with nods from everyone on board. You sighed and tapped your foot before speaking. “Okay, yes I’m a firebender. The reason I never told you guys is because I never wanted to use it. I was young when I fled and I never got a chance to learn anything other than the basics.”
Aang nodded in understanding. “But you could’ve built your skills that time we met Jeong Jeong.”
“No. After my family...” you trailed off, thinking about why you never became a master bender. Aang gave you an encouraging look and you breathed in deeply. “I promised myself I wouldn’t firebend ever again. Not after that.”
Aang nodded in understanding as you fell silent, thinking about your past. The Fire Nation was the reason why you had been all alone. They had killed your family with the weapon you now hated: firebending.
The silence engulfed the entire ship, everyone lost in their own thoughts. There was a peaceful atmosphere as the ship drifted along, but of course it didn’t last long.
Soon enough, you found yourself chasing after Aang, eventually being forced to hide in the Fire Nation as the Day Of Black Sun loomed closer and closer.
~
The promise that you had made to yourself to never firebend again was still intact. You hadn’t let any bursts of fire out, not even when you had found yourself surrounded by Fire Nation troops on the Day of Black Sun. The eclipse was a blessing to you, the brief eight minutes just long enough to make you feel normal.
Of course, you soon found yourselves fleeing to the Western Air Temple, silently mourning the loss the rest of the invasion army. Once you all settled in, you kept wearing the red top you had acquired in the Fire Nation. You don’t know why; it just brought you some type of comfort. Aang had grinned when he noticed, wondering if all your adventures in the Fire Nation had lessened your hatred towards the nation.
It had.
But not by much. Wearing the color red weighed heavily on your soul and you spent many of your waking hours debating whether or not keeping the red clothes was the right choice. It frustrated you to no end, how a simply piece of cloth could jumble your thoughts so easily. The red reminded you of the pain and grief you had experienced when you had lost your family, but in a twisted way it also reminded you of them. It reminded you of the days back when you still had them, back when you still had a home and you were happy. Deep down, you knew that you were Fire Nation but that knowledge didn’t stop your inner turmoil. And over the next few days, it only got worse with the arrival of a certain someone.
“Hello, Zuko here.”
You tried to hold back your groan, you really did. But it was as though the universe wanted to test you and had decided to do so by sending the Fire Nation prince your way. Zuko’s soft smile had dropped at your reaction, the corners of his lips quirking downward.
“Hey, I heard you guys flying around down there, so, I just thought I'd wait for you here,” he continued. Appa walked up to the prince and sniffed him before proceeding to lick him. Zuko’s face twisted up in disgust. “I know you must be surprised to see me here.”
"Not really,” Sokka said. “Since you've followed us all over the world!”
“Right,” Zuko said, wincing slightly as he rubbed the back of his neck. “Well, uh, anyway, what I wanted to tell you about is that I've changed, and I, uh, I'm good now, and well I think I should join your group, oh, and I can teach firebending to you. See, I, uh-”
“You want to what now?” you asked sharply, exchanging a look with Katara.
“You can't possibly think that any of us would trust you, can you?” she asked, opening her water skin. “I mean, how stupid do you think we are?!”
Zuko’s eyes shifted to you before he answered. “You trust her. She’s a firebender.”
Your eyes widened in anger and you began to march up to the prince, only stopping when Katara held you back.
“I am not, a firebender,” you hissed, staring Zuko down. “And I am not Fire Nation.”
Zuko stayed quiet, his eyes drifting from your red shirt to the hairpiece on your head. You followed his line of sight, eyes widening when you realized he was staring at the sunstone. You yanked your arm out of Katara’s grip, angrily stomping out of the room. You quickly stripped yourself of your red top as soon as you were out of sight before sighing deeply and pulling your hairpiece out. You arrived at the sleeping chamber and sat down on your sleeping bag quietly, holding the hairpiece in your hand tightly.
You stared at it sadly, the sunstone glinting in the dim light. Without hesitation, you pulled your arm back and flung it away, watching the sunstone glint in the sunlight as it rolled towards the edge. It was gone in a second, tumbling over the edge of the temple.
Now you were truly no longer Fire Nation.
~
Your life had just gotten ten times harder now that Zuko had been allowed to join the group. The defeat of Combustion Man had been intense and you had found injured when it was all over. Unlike Sokka, you had never been good with fighting, always relying on your intelligence to get you out of dire situations. With Combustion Man however, that proved to be a problem, and you had found yourself caught in the middle of a fight with no protection whatsoever.
In addition to the pain of your injury, you found yourself dealing with the prince’s presence. You found yourself avoiding the group entirely, taking on the more tedious chores (like laundry) to avoid spending time with the group and even hanging out with Haru, Teo, and The Duke as they explored the temple.
Tensions didn’t rise until a few days later, beginning when Aang approached you with an idea. After your tragic failure with Combustion Man, Aang believed that you needed to learn how to protect yourself and he thought that the right way to do that was by learning how to firebend. You had vehemently refused, accidentally yelling at the Air Nomad as everyone else watched in silence.
The argument was put on pause for a few days when Aang and Zuko traveled to the Sun Warriors’ ruins but when they came back, Toph had sided with him as well. You felt slightly betrayed by the small earthbender but still refused, stating that there was no way you would willingly learn how to firebend. At least you still had Sokka and Katara on your side.
At least you did until Sokka and Zuko took a trip to The Boiling Rock the next day. When they got back two days later, Sokka was on Aang’s side as well. The fight with Azula on the gondola had left him shaken as he realized just how hard it was to fight a bender with just a sword. You didn’t know how to use a sword, but you could firebend and so Sokka became one of Aang’s supporters. Katara was the only one who was still on your side, but that changed when Azula raided the temple.
Everyone had been woken up suddenly, reacting a bit slower than normal as Azula appeared. She immediately lunged at you, shooting blasts of blue fire as she stalked closer to you. Your eyes were wide with fear, dodging her attacks as much as you could.
“Watch out!” Zuko yelled, tackling you from the side, a pillar crashing down where you had been standing as a result of Azula’s lightning. You grunted softly as you landed, the breath leaving your lungs as Zuko landed on top of you. You opened your eyes immediately, meeting bright gold irises before they looked away as Zuko began to scan you for any visible injuries. Zuko’s hands rested on either side of your head as he tried to keep his weight off of you, not that it helped considering you were still struggling to catch your breath.
Or maybe you were struggling to catch your breath because of how close he was.
“Are you okay?” Zuko asked, drawing your attention back to him. Scowling, you threw him off of you before scrambling to your feet, rushing to help Katara when you heard her yelp. Zuko noticed Toph earthbend a tunnel into the side of the temple, and rushed to join the others. His eyes landed on you as you threw yourself to the side, narrowly dodging another one of Azula’s deadly blasts. The princess grabbed you by the hair, laughing maniacally before dragging you to the airships.
“What are you doing?” Aang yelled, noticing that Zuko had stopped in his path.
“Azula has (Y/N)!” Zuko replied, turning around and facing the airships. “I’m gonna go get her.”
Katara rushed to Aang’s side, exchanging a worried look with him before getting on top of Appa. The rest of the Gaang joined them, holding on tight as they tried to maneuver the sky bison through all the debris.
Zuko ran and launched himself onto the airship, landing safely on top of one. He glared at his sister, noticing that she was still holding onto you.
“Let her go, Azula!” Zuko yelled, his eyes never leaving hers.
“Hmm, I don’t think I will,” Azula replied, the blue flame in her palm growing brighter as she held it up to your face. “I think I’ll get rid of her instead. Then I’ll get rid of you. I can’t wait to celebrate being an only child.”
She inched the flame closer to your face, prompting Zuko to shoot a fire blast near her head. Growling, Azula tossed you to the side before confronting Zuko. The two siblings fought for a few minutes and you tried your best to avoid any wayward blasts. The fight stopped when they both struck at the same time, the resulting blast blowing both of them backwards.
“Zuko!” you cried, sprinting to grab the boy before he fell. You managed to grab onto his hand but his momentum sent you both tumbling into the chasm, a scream getting stuck in your throat as you plummeted. You were so overcome with fear that you didn’t notice Zuko pulling you into him, holding you close as you fell.
The fall didn’t last long, Appa managing to swoop in and save the two of you. You sat quietly on Appa’s saddle, both you and Zuko watching Azula as she kept falling.
“She’s...not gonna make it,” Zuko said softly, his arms tightening around you slightly. You watched with wide eyes as Azula used firebending to propel herself to the cliffside, sliding down a bit further before she took out her hairpin and stuck it into the side of the cliff, effectively ending her fall. “Of course she did.”
The seven of you sat in silence for a few minutes before Katara spoke up, tears in her eyes as she looked at you. “(Y/N), seeing Azula capture you got me thinking. I think...I think that you should learn how to firebend. You need to know how to defend yourself.”
“And I think that you can let go of each other now,” Sokka said cheekily, trying to diffuse the tension that had settled upon the group at Katara’s words. You shimmied out of Zuko’s hold, walking up to the Water Tribe girl and looking at her in disbelief.
“You’re supposed to be on my side Katara,” you hissed, flinching when she tried to reach for your hand. Without another words, you walked away and took Appa’s reins. The rest of the flight was silent, everybody knowing that now was not the time to be chatty.
~
Once again, you had retreated from the group. It wasn’t exactly hard considering the fact that now it was Katara and Zuko who had disappeared, gone on a quest to find her mother’s murderer. After a few days, Zuko reappeared alone and you found yourselves traveling to Ember Island.
Upon your arrival, you made your way over to Katara, who was standing quietly on the deck.
“I heard what you did,” you spoke first. “I’m glad you didn’t kill him.”
“I couldn’t bring myself to do it,” she whispered back, still looking straight ahead.
“Why?”
She turned slightly, facing you before speaking. “It’s not in my nature to kill. I couldn’t bring myself to use my bending for that. I have the chance to prevent other’s from going through what I went through; from going through what you went through. I want to use my bending for good.”
You mulled over her words for a few seconds before sighing deeply and walking away. Aang watched you quietly as he walked over to Katara, his eyes widening slightly when you walked up to Zuko.
“Ok,” you said quietly, looking up at the prince. “Teach me how to firebend.”
Zuko’s eyes widened briefly before he crossed his arms and composed himself. “Tomorrow at dawn. Be ready.”
And ready you were. Every day. Firebending was a lot easier than you expected, and you found yourself breezing though the basics and the intermediate moves. It wasn’t until you got to the advanced moves that you began to have some trouble.
“No!” Zuko barked. “That’s not how it’s done. Again!”
Your eye twitched before you took your stance again, launching yourself into the move that you were currently working on. You sighed deeply when you realized you had done it wrong again.
“Wrong. Again.”
“If you’re so good at it then come and show me,” you snapped, fed up with his attitude. Zuko straightened up before walking over to you, motioning for you to take your stance once more. You rolled your eyes, blowing the hair out of your eyes before complying.
“I will,” he said, moving your arms into the right position. He walked around you and you opened your mouth to make another comment, stopping when his hand came around from behind and gently shut your jaw. “Don’t say anything.”
Your breath hitched in your throat as he spoke. He was closer than you thought, his lips brushing your ear as he spoke. You shivered when his hands landed on your back, fixing your posture before they made their way to your waist. He gripped your waist firmly, shifting you into position before leaning forwards slightly, whispering in your ear once more. “Do it again.”
Fighting a blush, you did as you were told. You chuckled breathlessly when you did it correctly this time, a blast of fire leaving your hand at the right moment.
“See? You did it,” Zuko said, a faint smirk on his lips. “You’re a natural.”
You bounced up to him, wrapping your arms around his neck in excitement. His arms immediately wrapped around your waist, enjoying the closeness of the hug. You leaned back slightly, meeting his eyes as you smiled cheesily. “It’s only because I have such a great teacher.”
The two of you walked back to the beach house, joking around after a long day of training. Upon entering the beach house, Katara pulled you aside. “(Y/N)! Thank goodness. I need your help in the kitchen!”
You gave Zuko an apologetic smile as you followed Katara, being met with an understanding nod as he went off on his own. Katara handed you a tray of cups, smirking slightly before speaking. “So, you and Zuko huh?”
“What? N-No,” you replied immediately.
“I’m talking about firebending. How’s that going?” Katara said, filling the cups with watermelon juice as she arched an eyebrow.
A bright blush spread across your cheeks as you realized what she was talking about. “O-Oh. It’s going great. Zuko’s been teaching me some advanced moves now!”
Katara hummed in reply, waving you away now that the cups were full. You headed out of the kitchen in a hurry, loosing your footing when you heard Katara speak yet again.
“I bet the next move he makes is gonna be on you.”
~
The conversation between you and Katara was basically forgotten as the days went by.
Zuko had informed the Gaang about his father’s plan to destroy the Earth Kingdom, causing you all to worry greatly. In addition, Aang had disappeared overnight and all attempts to find him had been futile.
And that’s how you found yourselves following June and her shirshu as she led you to Ba Sing Se, where Zuko’s Uncle Iroh was supposed to be. You had been warmly welcomed by the Order of the White Lotus and Zuko and Iroh had made up, leaving you with only a day to plan out what you were going to do before Sozin’s comet arrived.
It was quickly decided that the Order of the White Lotus would stay behind and reclaim Ba Sing Se while Sokka, Suki, and Toph would set out to destroy the airship fleet. Zuko had asked you and Katara to join him in defeating Azula and although Katara had agreed immediately, you were a bit hesitant. Of course, Zuko noticed and he decided to confront you about it.
“(Y/N),” Zuko said, coming up to you when you were prepping Appa for the ride. Katara was a few yards away, giving the two of you privacy. You glanced at Zuko before climbing onto Appa’s saddle, the prince following closely behind you. “What’s wrong?”
“Zuko, I,” you paused, breathing deeply. “I shouldn’t go. I just started bending and what is something goes wrong? I don’t want to be a liability to y-”
“Hey,” Zuko whispered, ducking his head to make eye contact with you. “I meant what I said on Ember Island. You’re a natural. You’ll be fine.”
You sighed before hugging your knees to your chest. “I just can’t believe that I’m actually returning to the Fire Nation, even if it’s to help you reclaim your throne. I’m just glad that maybe under your rule, things might finally change.”
Zuko stayed quiet before standing up and reaching for his bag. He shuffled around for a moment before kneeling behind you, his fingers gently grabbing your hair.
“What are you-”
“Shh, Zuko cut you off. “Give me a second.”
His fingers weaved through your hair, putting it up into a style you were all too familiar with. He was gentle with his actions, letting his hands fall to your shoulders when he was done. “There.”
You reached up, your fingers trembling slightly as they brushed over the sunstone that you had known your whole life.
“M-My hairpiece,” you gasped, tears springing to your eyes as you realized how much you had missed it. “How did you-”
“I found it at the Western Air Temple,” Zuko interrupted quietly. “It was after I came to you guys the first time. Katara sent me away and when I was walking under a balcony, it fell onto the ground. I recognized it so I picked it up. I assumed you would want it back at some point.”
Zuko fell backwards when you threw yourself at him, wrapping him up in a tight hug.
“Thank you,” you whispered, leaning up and pressing a kiss to his cheek. A tiny gasp escaped him and you pulled back, meeting his eyes as he stared down at you. The two of you stared at each other for a few tense seconds before you both leaned forwards rapidly, your lips meeting in the middle.
Maybe it was a spur of the moment decision, kissing Zuko. Maybe it was due to to the anxiety bubbling up in you, your emotions hard to control as you prepared to end of the war in one way or another. Or maybe, it was simply two teenagers too shy to tell each other how they felt, finally sharing a tender moment.
“So, are we ready to go?” Katara asked. The two of you sprung apart, blushes on both of your faces as the Water Tribe girl smirked at you. Zuko nodded and you looked away, taking your place at Appa’s reins.
“Ready as I’ll ever be. Yip yip.”
~
The fight had been a blur to you. You didn’t remember much other than the fact that Zuko had taken a bolt of lightning meant for you. After Zuko had been injured, you and Katara had teamed up to take Azula down. She had challenged you to an Agni Kai after striking Zuko and you had accepted in order to lure her away from his body. To say she had been surprised when you actually fought back with fire was an understatement.
With Katara’s help, you managed to chain her to an old grate before rushing over to aid Zuko. After Katara had done all she could, you helped Zuko into the palace where he had been taken to the infirmary. You hadn’t seen him since.
You had however, met back up with Aang, Sokka, Toph, and Suki. They informed the two of you of what they had done and in turn you had told them about Zuko’s injury. They were all worried about him but after hearing that Katara had healed him, they were slightly relieved.
The next time you saw the prince was on the day of his coronation. Some of the palace guards had come for you, stating that Zuko was requesting your presence. You felt your heart jump into your throat as you nodded, allowing them to lead you through the palace until you came to a pair of gilded doors.
“He’s in there,” one of the guards said. “Would you like us to announce your arrival?”
“No, it’s fine. I can just knock,” you said meekly, causing the guards to smile amusedly. You bowed shortly to them before turning to face the door, gently knocking and waiting for a response.
“Come in!”
The door swung open at your touch and you awkwardly stepped inside, still standing near the doorway as your gaze landed on Zuko.
“Close it,” he said, his voice quiet yet rough. You complied, stepping aside and shutting the door before inching closer. He was shirtless, thick bandages covering his torso. Covering the new scar he had earned because of you. He turned around, his face softening when his eyes met yours.
“Hey,” he said softly, his eyes scanning you for injuries the way he did back when Azula raided the Western Air Temple.
“Hi, how are you?” you squeaked, shuffling awkwardly. You winced at your words, blushing in embarrassment as Zuko’s lips quirked up. He walked over to his bed before picking up the shirt he was going to wear.
“I’m fine. How are you?” he asked, a teasing smile on his lips as he began to put it on. His smile dropped as he moved too harshly, pain shooting through his torso as he struggled to pull the fabric on.
“Spirits! Be careful,” you said, all embarrassment leaving you as you rushed forwards and took the shirt from his hands. “Here, let me.”
You helped him slide one arm in before slipping it over his shoulders and guiding his other arm in as well. You grabbed the belt used to hold it in place before standing in front of him. Your breath caught in your throat as you eyed the bandages, guilt settling in your stomach as you softly placed a hand on his chest. Zuko’s hands automatically went to your waist, pulling you closer to him as he stared at you worriedly.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered, still looking at his chest. “This was my fault.”
“Hey,” Zuko replied, one of hands leaving your waist to lift your chin. You shivered softly at the action, your eyes finally meeting his bright gold ones. “It wasn’t your fault. Azula shouldn’t have done it in the first place. She challenged me to an Agni Kai, not you.”
“You should’ve let it hit me,” you said, looking at him sadly. “I can’t imagine what would’ve happened if Katara hadn’t been there. Zuko, you could’ve d-”
Your eyes widened and your words died on your throat when Zuko leant down, softly pressing his lips to yours. The hand that was still on your waist wrapped around you, pulling you closer as Zuko kissed you gently. He began to pull away after a few seconds, noticing your lack of response. Mentally kicking yourself, you began to kiss back, closing your eyes as you wrapped your free arm around his neck to keep him close. Zuko couldn’t help but smile at your response.
“I took that hit because I love you, (Y/N),” Zuko whispered, finally pulling away and leaning his forehead against yours. “I couldn’t let Azula hurt you.”
“Zuko, I-I love you too,” you confessed, your eyes still closed. Suddenly, you pulled away before gently swatting his head. “But that doesn’t make what you did any less stupid.”
“Hey! I saved your life!” he exclaimed, rubbing his head.
“I know,” you said, rolling your eyes before hugging him close once again. “And I love you for it. But never, and I mean never, do that again.”
“No promises,” Zuko replied, guiding your lips to his once more. This kiss was different, full of trust and love and peace.
You pulled away reluctantly, fixing his shirt and looping the belt around him before taking his hand. “Now let’s go. You have a coronation to get to.”
Zuko stopped for a second, pulling you back to him as he looked at you uncertainly. You looked up at him curiously, prompting him to speak.
“Are you-” Zuko stopped abruptly, trying to get his thoughts in order. “Will you stay with me? Here? Even after everyone else leaves?”
You hesitated for a split second, remembering everything that you had suffered at the hands of the Fire Nation. You opened your mouth to reply, looking up to meet Zuko’s gaze. You faltered for a moment, taking in the way he was looking at you. Here in front of you stood the crown prince, the very symbol of the nation that you had spent the majority of your life hating. But he was also just a teen, and he was willing to put in the work to fix the Fire Nation’s past mistakes.
Your heart swelled in your chest as you thought about the golden-eyed boy , and everything he had done to help the Avatar. Because of him, the Fire Nation now had a chance at redemption, and you knew it wouldn’t be easy to undo centuries of imperialism and pain. Especially not when it was so deeply rooted in the nation. And so you answered his question, confident that you were making the right decision.
“Of course I’ll stay, Zuko. And I’ll be here to help you every step of the way.”

Oh, Technoblade? Technoblade never dies.
Like everyone else I am grieving. This is how I grieve. When I grieve, I like to create small mementos to honour the memory of my loved ones.
Sometimes I will craft charms that remind me of them. I will make small shrines with things I’ve been given by them, perhaps some items of significance or quotes that have stuck with me throughout the years. Sometimes I will draw them. Maybe they’re having fun, or just saying goodbye. Maybe they’re doing something they loved in life, or I am recounting a memory through art. And sometimes, sometimes I write them some parting words. My goodbyes, so to speak. Maybe it’s just a letter with things I could never say to them. Or maybe, maybe I write of them impact they have.
In this case, I mourn Techno by showing how far his loss in felt.
--------------------------------------------
It was like the whole world suddenly welt still.
All at once, every heart skipped a beat, as if in solidarity for the one that stopped completely. Each creature, living or otherwise, stood in place as if frozen by something unseen.
The moment his heart stopped, everyone felt a piece of themselves freeze with a dull ache.
The wave of numb shock began to fade, another one, a wave of sorrow and loss, proceeded it; the wave fueled by every breath caught and heartbeat skipped. Fighters unbeaten by weapons of war fell to their knees. Travellers who fly with the precision of a wiever crashed from the sky. The strongest miners dropped their picks.
And all at once the tears on millions rained down upon the earth.
The wails of friends, the sobs of family, the silent cries of acquaintances and enemies alike. Everyone cried tears they never thought would fall. They grieved the life of the one who was supposed to outlive them all.
The breeze carried his words across the world with unseen gentleness. As if one wrong twist would mean they’d be lost. And with a chuckle or a sob, they all heard it.
“so long nerds“
And just like they’d always known him to be, his words were almost mocking. And yet his tone was soft, offering the comfort and reassurance of one who knew they’d meet again. No.. Perhaps it was the gentleness of someone who was unafraid to go. One who did what he could, fought as fiercely as possible, and continued with dignity and honour to his name. Someone who did his best, who loved and cared for his dear ones and what he did with a burning passion.
Yeah, that sounds about right.
Just like in life, Technoblade remains confident and sure. He remains a comfort and a pillar of strength for his close ones.
A third wave pulses through the land. This one full of passion, love and grief dancing alongside each other in the most beautiful way, and connecting all the grieving souls together.
Whispers spread around. Each leaf in their way fueled the voices that passed them.
‘Technoblade never dies in our hearts‘
‘Rest easy our King‘
‘You will be remembered‘
‘May your fight against God prove fruitful‘
‘We will miss you Techno‘
‘Safe travels, Blood God‘
‘Rest in Peace, Alex‘
Without his to host them, the voice of his chat spread wide and far through the lands. Despite the chaos they reigned, this time the voices brought comfort instead of fear. Many may have learned to fear their whims whilst they shadowed Techno, but the voices cared, most of all, about him. They cared for him deeply, as many of his friends and family did.
And this time, their whispers carried a request. One not fueled by chaos or bloodlust, but rather pain, love, and loss.
‘Remember him‘ they begged. ‘Remember him, becase as long as he’s in our hearts, he will never truly die.’
And all at once everyone made an oath they planned to keep.
Remember him.
Remember him, because in our hearts, Technoblade never dies.

Do you think Deku will ever get mad at All-Might for keeping so many secrets from him? Deku has been giving All-Might free passes on things he should have known about like AFO, previous holders of OFA and now that Tomura is Nana's grandson. It feels like AM needs to be held accountable at some point.
I think it’s likely; he’s gotten fairly mad at him about this before, back when All Might hid the truth about his falling-out with Nighteye.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and he’s probably going to feel a bit betrayed at the realization that All Might is still keeping things from him even after this conversation. and it’s not like it’s just small things, either; these are some pretty major things that Deku is still getting blindsided by as a result of All Might’s secrecy. it feels like AM hasn’t really learned his lesson at all and is still Dumbledoring his way through this mentorship.
but the thing is, I can understand All Might’s point of view here as well, and I get why he keeps doing it, even if I don’t agree with it. I’ve been meaning to write a post about this anyway, especially since it ties into the matter of the Fourth OFA User and his quirk, so let’s take a look at All Might’s ever-growing List of Secrets, because there’s a pattern there.
1. OFA
starting with the big one. now obviously Deku is very much in on this particular secret. however it is still a secret from just about everyone else, and it’s probably the one secret that All Might has been the most adamant about keeping, going to increasingly elaborate lengths even as it becomes more and more obvious that all of these efforts are eventually going to prove futile.
Tumblr media
the thing is, it’s pretty obvious why he’s been trying so hard to keep the truth of Deku’s quirk hidden. OFA paints a huge target onto Deku’s back, one that would attract notice not just from the villain side, but from the hero side as well. OFA is basically the ultimate prize. it’s probably the most powerful quirk in existence, aside from AFO. and once word gets out that this power can be passed on to literally anyone simply at will, things could start getting very ugly.
Tumblr media
Deku would suddenly come under pressure from all sides, with people trying to use and control him (well, I say “people”, but mainly I mean the HPSC sob). that’s if they see him as a useful tool and a weapon in the battle against the League, mind you. but if they decide that he’s not, or that he’s not ready, there would instead be pressure for him to give up OFA to a “worthier” candidate. either way, Deku himself isn’t going to be taken into account. his thoughts, his feelings, what he wants, what he deserves; none of that is going to matter to these people.
and these are the good guys, mind! that’s not even mentioning the villains, who have already destroyed an entire city in pursuit of him. Deku is in a lot of danger now. and so far, Tomura/AFO have been surprisingly honorable in their attempts to get ahold of OFA, in that they’ve been targeting Deku directly. but AFO is a notoriously underhanded guy, and it concerns me that there are a ton of more underhanded methods still on the table for him to try out. because we’ve already established that Deku is notoriously self-sacrificing. I mean literally notorious, as in both his friends and enemies alike have all picked up on this trait and made a note of it. so imagine if Tomura ever decides to take hostages, for instance. “give me OFA or I’ll kill so and so.” then what?? jesus.
so yeah, all in all it’s pretty clear why All Might has been exceedingly careful about keeping OFA a secret even from most of Deku’s allies. this isn’t even getting into the whole U.A. traitor thing as well, but I mean, you get the idea, right? the reason All Might has gone to such lengths to keep OFA a secret is to protect Deku.
2. AFO
and now we get to the first of many things that All Might kept hidden from Deku himself! and these are generally going to be a lot harder to defend. like yeah, you probably should have told this barely-pubescent child that that the quirk you were giving him came prepackaged with a built-in mortal enemy, All Might. might want to actually lead with that part next time.
so why didn’t he tell Deku about AFO? well first of all please understand that I’m not trying to justify this decision, lol; I’m just trying to rationalize it from All Might’s point of view. he was less than six years removed from his fateful battle with AFO in which the both of them were gravely injured. and yes, he said that he believed AFO had died from his wounds; but if he really thought that was true, why didn’t he listen to Nighteye and pass OFA on to someone else back then? why did he stubbornly stay in the field for as long as he could? his actions just don’t line up. if he really thought AFO was dead, you’d think he would have been able to retire in peace, as there wouldn’t have been such a great need for the Symbol anymore.
so honestly, what I’m learning towards here is that he didn’t really believe it, deep down. but once his powers really started to wane, he felt like he had no choice but to pass the quirk on to someone else and just hope for the best. and then, once he met Deku, I think he really started to want to believe it was true. because he empathized with Deku and he saw himself in him, and he wanted to give him that chance. Deku wanted so badly to be a hero, and All Might saw that he had the heart and the spirit of one, and only lacked the physical ability. and there All Might was, with a quirk he could bestow on him that could potentially make his dream come true. he wanted to believe he could do that. he convinced himself that the threat of AFO really was nonexistent -- after all, it had been six years! -- and that it wasn’t a burden he was passing down onto this child anymore, but a gift.
and so he didn’t tell Deku about AFO because he wanted to believe it wasn’t something Deku needed to know. so in this case it wasn’t just Deku he was essentially lying to, but himself as well. so yeah, not the best rationale in the world, but a very human mistake for him to make, and one that once again has its roots in wanting to protect Deku. or more precisely in this case, wanting to protect Deku’s dream. he wanted to believe it was all right for him to hand down this power which he so strongly believed that Deku deserved.
3. the Vestiges
honestly it’s a bit up in the air whether or not this one was really a secret, because All Might genuinely didn’t seem to realize that the Vestiges were conscious inside of OFA. or so he says at any rate. regardless, I’m going to include it in the list because he was definitely acting pretty cagey about the subject back during the sports festival, and I’ve never been fully satisfied with his explanation.
if you ask me? I think one of the reasons why he didn’t want to discuss this more in depth with Deku back then was because he was afraid it might inadvertently lead to some other topics that he wasn’t yet ready to discuss.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the idea of the previous OFA users living on inside the quirk is comforting in some ways, but that’s also a conversation that inevitably leads to the subject of AFO and AFO’s brother just for starters. not to mention Nana, whose death was deeply traumatizing for him and which I don’t think he was emotionally prepared to bring up just yet.
but I think the biggest factor that led to All Might being mum about this was the fact that he himself was included among the Vestiges. because I’m thinking he might have been a bit paranoid about avoiding a conversation like this:
All Might: “hey Midoriya-shounen, I just wanted to let you know that those weird little shadow figures you saw during your fight were the ghosts of the previous users of OFA, who are all living on inside of the quirk. my master once told me, 'even if I die one of these days, we can always meet again inside One for All.' so you know, that’s nice.”
Deku: “huh okay, so you’re telling me I have the souls of eight other people trapped inside my quirk, well that’s pretty trippy but I’m a weird little boy who lives for this kind of wild quirk shit so I’m okay with it! but it’s not like it matters though anyway since you’re still here to guide me haha! it’s not like you have any reason to suspect that might not be the case in the very near future, right?”
All Might: “...right.”
so yeah. once again, the reason for All Might keeping this a secret is because he doesn’t want to burden Deku. spoiler alert, the next two secrets also have the exact same reasoning behind them. in fact I’m just going to go and lump them both together.
4. Sir Nighteye, and 5. Sir Nighteye’s prophecy
so #4 is the one that actually finally set Deku off in the scene I posted earlier lol. and yeah, All Might should have told Deku, especially since it was inevitable that Deku was going to find out anyway. once he learned about Nighteye and All Might’s falling-out, him finding out about the prophecy was a given. and so once again I want to stress that I’m not actually trying to defend All Might’s decision here lol. just trying to relate to it.
anyway but that said, the reason why he didn’t tell Deku is pretty straightforward: he didn’t want to burden Deku with that knowledge. he knows Deku looks up to him. he knows that Deku looks to him for support. and All Might has spent his entire career doing everything he could to be that strong support for everybody, for the entire nation. he wants everyone to feel secure and safe. he wants nothing more than to be able to keep them safe. and it’s so hard, when you have that mindset, to let yourself show weakness and allow the cracks to show and to admit and accept that you can’t protect people from everything, no matter how bad you want to.
how do you tell the kid you’re mentoring, the kid who’s come to depend on you for so much, that there’s a good chance you might not be around much longer? that there’s a good chance he’ll be left to deal with everything all on his own, the same way that you were? how the hell do you even begin to approach that conversation? especially knowing what kind of person Deku is, on top of everything else. for a hero, someone who’s dedicated their whole life to helping and protecting others, nothing is more devastating than being told that something terrible is going to happen, and that no matter what, there is nothing you can do to change that fate. that alone would have been reason enough to not want Deku to know. he didn’t want him to experience that kind of helplessness.
and Deku is still just a kid!! Nighteye, a fully grown man and a hero with years of experience, completely fell apart after that prophecy. meanwhile Deku just started hero school less than a year ago. he’s only sixteen. he is far, far too young to have to deal with all of this. yes, he needed to know, both as a matter of trust and as a matter of practicality. but the fact that he needed to know is pretty fucking cruel on the universe’s part, and I get why All Might was so reluctant to tell him. I get it.
side note!! I feel like it’s worth mentioning that this one is still a secret as far as a certain other person goes. like, I feel that’s pretty noteworthy. pretty much every other person who knows about OFA also knew about Nighteye’s prophecy, including Rat Principal, Recovery Girl, Gran Torino, and Nighteye himself. (although it’s not clear whether or not Naomasa knows, come to think of it. but it’s likely, since All Might probably physically can’t lie to him lol.) and of course, Deku now knows as well.
but aside from Naomasa, there is one other person who’s notably missing from that list.
Tumblr media
Kacchan knows about OFA and AFO, but neither All Might nor Deku have told him about the prophecy. even though Katsuki has firmly elbowed his way into the OFA Scooby Squad and knows about all sorts of other things including SIXQUIRKS and the Vestiges and all that jazz, and he’s been helping Deku train and has been included in pretty much everything for months now, he still doesn’t know about this.
and honestly, this might be the one time where I actually agree with All Might’s decision. I say that as someone who loves Katsuki to pieces and very much wants him to find out about this, because I’m mean and because I love angst. but once again, I get it, though. because you probably don’t want to tell the kid who was thinking this...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...that at the time, when you came to save him back at Kamino, you were thinking something like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
yeah. I’m just saying. I don’t think it does Katsuki much benefit to know that All Might originally went out to Kamino fully expecting that it would be his last battle, and fully prepared to die the horrible death that Nighteye foretold. like, on the one hand there’s definitely an argument to be made that Katsuki should know about the prophecy just so that he’s prepared in case anything does happen, because he would then be the one to have to step up and replace All Might as Deku’s primary support. (and this is something All Might already seems to have been grooming him for in recent months, which is a bit of a red flag as far as All Might’s mortality prospects are concerned, but that’s another discussion for another day.)
but on the other hand, Katsuki is a pretty smart kid. and if and when he does find out about this, there’s a good chance he’s going to connect the dots and realize that Kamino was actually a hell of a lot riskier than All Might ever let on. and there’s close to a 100% chance that he starts blaming himself all over again if he ever learns that. I don’t think it would set him back too much, because he’s made a lot of progress, but I do think that even now it’s still something that he feels a lot of responsibility for. and so really this is just an additional burden that he doesn’t need to be carrying on his shoulders. Deku’s not the only one who’s still just a kid.
anyway! so tl;dr this is yet another case where All Might was keeping something a secret because he didn’t want to burden Deku. and is, in fact, STILL keeping it secret from Katsuki because he doesn’t want to burden him, either. basically just trying to protect both of these kids here.
6. Nana’s relation to Tomura
almost done with the list now! for real though, it’s crazy how many of these there are. how can one man have so many secrets. like seriously, calm the fuck down, All Might.
so! again, Deku should arguably have been told this as soon as it became clear that the responsibility of dealing with AFO and Tomura was going to fall to him. except, I guess, the thing is they didn’t think it was going to fall to him. or at least they hoped it wouldn’t. AFO was in Tartarus, and Naomasa and Gran were planning on hunting down Tomura and the League themselves. and Deku is just a high school kid with an internship. so in an ideal world, he would have never gotten near Tomura, and vice-versa. the adult heroes in BnHA may be inept as fuck, but I’ll give them credit where due: none of them wanted this kind of responsibility to ever fall on any of the kids until they were ready. even during this arc, the kids were all originally assigned to the evacuation teams, and the handful who were on the front lines were there because it was essential to the mission. and even then they pretty much had assigned babysitters (Midnight, Fatgum, etc.) shadowing them the whole time and ready to haul them back out as soon as their tasks were accomplished. like, don’t get me wrong, the child soldiers thing was and is still very fucked up, lol. but they were clearly trying to keep them out of harm’s way.
anyway! and so of course this applies to Deku as well. never mind that he’s All Might’s heir and well on his way to becoming more powerful than anyone could have ever dreamed. he’s still just a teenager. and we don’t send teenagers out to hunt the bad guys. we leave that to the adults, supposedly. and so in these guys’ minds, there really wasn’t any reason to tell Deku about the whole Nana/Tomura connection, because even if it was true, in their minds it’s not really relevant to Deku. they weren’t planning on him and Tomura becoming arch-nemeses. and so it was really just another thing that All Might presumably didn’t want to burden him with at the end of the day. “by the way, Midoriya-shounen, you should know there’s a possibility that Shigaraki Tomura is actually the grandson of my late mentor whom All for One killed.” that’s basically just a very unfun fact that Deku can do absolutely nothing about, except feel bad about it. it doesn’t change the fact that Tomura is still a mass murderer who’s eventually going to have to be captured or killed. so in All Might’s mind there’s really no benefit to telling Deku about any of this.
anyway! and so now finally, last but not least,
7. the Fourth OFA User
so now we finally get to the one secret we don’t actually know yet! OFA IV, and his whole mysterious deal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All Might, after doing all that research on the previous OFA users and their quirks, suddenly changed his mind at the last second and decided not to tell Deku about this one specific user and his quirk (and notably, his cause of death). why is that?? “I don’t want to speculate and talk about things I’m not sure of...” really?? so you think the better option is for him to be unprepared and to not have any idea of what’s coming, then??
no, seriously. I’m seriously asking that. does All Might, in fact, think that it’s actually a better option for Deku to not know anything about the fourth user than for him to be aware of it. I am genuinely asking that question, because I truly suspect that this might actually be the case.
because, you see, that’s the pattern. if you look at all the other things he’s kept hidden either from Deku, or from others on Deku’s behalf, that’s the one thing they all have in common. he kept them secret in order to protect Deku. either to shelter him from the burden, or to keep him safe from people who might try to do him harm.
so I think it’s safe to say that even though we know absolutely nothing about this particular secret yet, it’s still going to follow that same pattern. All Might isn’t telling Deku about the Fourth yet either because he doesn’t want to burden him with something, or because he thinks there’s some other reason why Deku is better off not knowing.
here are a few other things we can extrapolate here:
All Might’s next line after this is “because I’m worried for him”, so yeah. whatever the reason, he’s trying to protect Deku somehow.
All Might has a history of avoiding truths he’s not ready to face yet, such as AFO still being alive. so even though he says here that he’s “not sure of” whatever it is he found, it’s very possible that he is in fact pretty sure of it, but just doesn’t want to believe it.
the fact that he wrote something down but then crossed it out would seem to support that as well. he says “not yet”, but I’m definitely not convinced that’s actually the case.
whatever this secret about the fourth user is, it’s something All Might isn’t willing to tell Katsuki either, even though Katsuki specifically presses him about it. this makes me think that it’s not just something shady or unpleasant about the fourth user’s past (like him being a villain for instance), because if it was just something like that, I don’t think he’d be so insistent on hiding it from Katsuki as well. and also that wouldn’t explain why he’s keeping the quirk a secret, especially since he knows Deku is going to manifest it at some point.
so my thinking is that it’s not something about the Fourth’s history, but rather something about his quirk. and after all, the Vestige storyline is mainly about the SIXQUIRKS anyway, so that tracks. and so if it is something related to the Fourth’s quirk, and this something also convinced All Might to hide the Fourth’s cause of death, I think the most likely explanation is that something about the Fourth’s quirk ended up killing him, and All Might fears that this quirk could potentially harm or kill Deku as well.
“but if the Fourth’s quirk is potentially dangerous, then wouldn’t it make more sense to tell Deku about it so that he can be prepared?” well, yeah. definitely it would. unless, of course, All Might has somehow concluded that the danger to Deku is actually GREATER if he knows than if he doesn’t know. in other words, the risk of the quirk manifesting with Deku unaware of what it is, is outweighed by the risk of Deku knowing and manifesting it on purpose.
and this, I think, is where the rest of Katsuki’s conversation with All Might in ch 284 comes into play:
Tumblr media
All Might has no doubt observed the same thing himself. and so what I’m thinking is that this must be some kind of super high-risk, high-reward quirk that Deku, if he knew about it, would be tempted to use while battling someone like Tomura, even knowing there was a risk of it hurting or even killing him as well. this is Deku, after all. Deku, who takes himself out of the equation. Deku, who is ALREADY pushing himself to extremes with OFA and has been doing so from the start. Deku, who barring a miracle will be lucky to have even 1/10th of the normal function in his arms when this arc is said and done. and that’s just with normal, everyday OFA and Blackwhip and Float. if you were to go and add some sort of super-self-destruct quirk on top of all that?? jesus christ. they’d be picking up the pieces of what was left of him, probably.
so yeah. if this really does turn out to be the case, and the Fourth’s quirk really is a potential suicide quirk? I could absolutely understand why All Might would keep that hidden from him. once again, it’s all about protecting him and keeping him safe.
and it’s problematic though, for sure! and most likely futile just like all of his other secret-keeping efforts have been. at some point he’s just going to have to start trusting Deku to handle this stuff, and letting him know these things. like it or not, he’s not going to be a kid forever, and Destiny is currently being Thrust Upon Him at a fairly alarming rate! pretending like all of these threats will just magically go away all on their own is not it. if you didn’t want peril lusting over him at every corner then you shouldn’t have chosen a motherfucking Shounen Protag as your motherfucking heir, my dude.
anyway! so those are all of my thoughts about All Might and his secrets. I do think Deku is gonna call him out on it again soon, and I think All Might will be apologetic for not telling him about Tomura and Nana, but I don’t know if it will be enough to finally get him to change his ways and reveal everything else. he is an overprotective dad filled with anxiety over his trouble magnet son and his arm-exploding ways, and it’s a tough position for him to be in, knowing that either way there will be pain that Deku can’t avoid. it’s rough. anyways, maybe I’m too soft, but while I don’t necessarily want him to just keep getting free passes on everything, I kind of hope they don’t rake him over the coals too badly for it either. he means well!! he is doing his best. hopefully they can manage to talk it out, sob.

Finally done though I am not happy with it lmao imagine that
ANYWAY
I can’t remember if I posted the snippet that this piece is based on but it’s under the cut anyway. Please enjoy!
~~~~~~~~
(Note: Takes place several weeks after arranged marriage. There is an attack from another tribe and it’s the first real fight Beau’s been in. They haven’t had their first kiss yet, let alone had sex. This takes place before all that)
~~~~~~~~
The last thing Beau remembered was an arrow piercing her belly, near her hip, a shout, and total darkness.
She woke up some time later, though she’s not sure how much time had passed, in her bed. The furs were heavy but soothing, the familiar scent of animal musk and the sweat of herself and Yasha prominent deep in the fibers.
She felt a large, calloused hand holding hers and she took a deep breath and slowly blinked her eyes open. The hut was cast in its typical dimness. The ever present fire was softly crackling in the middle of it and when Beau turned her head toward it, she saw a large bodied silhouette.
“Yasha?” Her voice cracked, throat dry. She tried to swallow and her throat stuck, causing her to cough.
The hand holding hers pulled away and she watched, with bleary eyes, as the figure picked up a waterskin and held it up to Beau’s mouth.
“Drink,” came the familiar voice of her wife.
Beau raised her head and drank deeply from the canteen, her hand wrapped loosely around Yasha’s wrist. After a few deep gulps Beau pulled away and took a deep, shuddery breath.
“What happened,” Beau asked as she settled back into the bed. She blinked her eyes and her vision refocused and she watched as Yasha corked the waterskin and sat it aside.
Yasha herself resettled beside Beau, legs crossed. “You were hit with a poison tipped arrow,” Yasha said softly. “We thought—“ Yasha paused, swallowed and tried again. “I thought I was going to lose you.”
“How long have I been knocked out,” Beau asked, her voice still rough.
“Half a day,” Yasha replied. “Give or take an hour. After the healers did all they could I moved you to our bed.”
Beau reached for Yasha’s hand and the barbarian quickly gave it, her grip light. “Have you been here the whole time, watching over me?”
Yasha’s gaze fell to the bed and she gave a small grunt. “Mostly. I did have some matters to tend to that couldn’t wait. There are more I need to deal with.”
Beau nodded and released Yasha’s hand. She tried to push up into a sitting position and hissed in pain. “Fuck.”
Yasha was immediately hovering over her. “Be careful,” she said softly. “Please.”
Beau groaned and moved the blanket from her lap. She found a bandage wrapped around her belly and down around her hip and upper thigh. The bandage was stained a light red and she looked up at Yasha. “What did the poison do?”
“I was told it kept your blood from clotting,” Yasha answered. “There’s also a chance the wound may be infected. It’s a very large gash.”
“Greeeat,” Beau snarked flatly.
Yasha reached out and gently laid her hand where she knew the wound was. Her palm began to glow and warmth flowed from Yasha and seeped deep into Beau’s skin, even through the bandage. Beau felt the pain severely lessen even if it didn’t fade completely.
“That feels great,” Beau said with a groan. When Yasha pulled her hand away, Beau looked up at her. “You have healing magic?”
“Some,” Yasha said softly. Her eyes were still cast down and she wouldn’t meet Beau’s gaze. “The healers in the tribe are good at what they do. They saved your life. But I’ve been trying to find a cleric. It’s been difficult. Not many people want to be part of semi-nomadic tribe in the wastelands.”
Beau reached for Yasha’s hand and, once again, Yasha freely gave it. “I do,” Beau said softly.
That got a small smile from Yasha and she gently squeezed Beau’s hand. “After today, I’d say you’ve earned your place in our tribe.”
Beau smirked. “I didn’t earn it by marrying you?”
Yasha’s smile turned into a smirk. “Sadly, no. In fact, that made the other tribe members more wary of you. They wanted you to go through the standard trials to induct you into our clan.”
“You couldn’t have convinced them otherwise,” Beau asked.
Yasha gave a small shrug. “I could have. And considered it. But a lot of them do not like what I’ve done with the clan since taking over. They think I’m soft.”
Beau’s eyes dropped to Yasha’s hand still held in her own. She flipped it over and began tracing her fingers along the various grooves along Yasha’s palms. “I remember you telling me our wedding night that the Skyspear position isn’t hereditary.”
“That is correct,” Yasha said.
“So how did you become the Skyspear?”
Finally, Yasha looked up at Beau. Her eyes were hard, cold, but it wasn’t  directed Beau herself. “I killed the last one.”
Beau’s eyebrows raised. “Can I ask why?”
“It is tradition,” Yasha said. “To gain a new Skyspear you have to slay the previous one. That’s how it’s always been.”
“Alright,” Beau said. “But I have a feeling something happened to make you challenge her. You don’t seem like the type to want the power.”
Yasha shook her head. “I did not.”
Yasha fell silent and Beau waited. When it became apparent that Yasha wasn’t going to elaborate, Beau decided to prod her a bit. “What changed your mind?”
Yasha’s eyes fell again. She was silent for a long while but Beau could tell it was because she was considering her words.
“Tribal life is hard,” Yasha began. “There are certain rules and oaths one takes when committing to the clan. To become a member you undergo severe trials. Survive them and you become a member of the clan and earn your name. Before becoming the Skyspear, my clan name was Orphanmaker.” As she spoke her old name, sadness tinged Yasha’s voice and Beau gently squeezed her hand.
“Once you become a member,” Yasha continued, “you vow celibacy until an appropriate mate is chosen for you.”
“You don’t get to choose your own spouse,” Beau asked, disbelieving.
Yasha shook her head. “No.”
Beau picked up on the grief in Yasha’s tone and quickly put things together. “But you did anyway. Didn’t you?”
Yasha smiled at Beau’s quick mind. “I did.”
“What was her name,” Beau asked gently.
Yasha’s smile grew and became wistful. “Zuala,” she said quietly.
“Can I ask what happened to her,” Beau asked softly. “I’ll understand if it’s too painful to discuss.”
Yasha surprised her by shaking her head. “It is painful but. I want you to know.
“We married, in secret,” Yasha explained. “And we were happy, for a while.”
Yasha’s face fell and Beau knew why. “You were found out.” It wasn’t a question but Yasha nodded slowly.
“We were.”
Beau’s heart sank. She was sure she knew how this played out but found herself asking anyway, “What happened?”
Yasha took a deep breath and released it slowly. “We were taken into custody and held for a day. Or less. I’m not sure. Then the Skyspear called for Zuala and she was taken from the cell.
“I managed to escape,” Yasha continued and Beau could hear the emotion causing Yasha’s throat to thicken. “I ran to where they had taken her, which was to the executioner. But I was too late. I watched, too terrified to move, as they killed her.”
Beau felt her eyes burn, bison blurring slightly from tears. “Yasha…”
Yasha shook her head slightly but continued. “I’m…unsure what happened after that, exactly. It’s a blur. I blacked out and the next thing I remember was standing over the Skyspear, my sword plunged into her chest and hearing her gasp for breath.
“More fights happened after that,” Yasha continued. “Some clan members claimed I was the new Skyspear. Others said I had betrayed the clan. Some of them attacked me and I fought to defend myself. Most of them did not survive.
“To make a long story…slightly less long, I became the new Skyspear. I changed a lot of things. No more assigned mates, for starters.”
“Yeah, I can see why you changed that,” Beau said.
Yasha smiled at her. “I also put a stop to the children fighting.”
“The kids fought,” Beau asked, surprised and slightly aghast.
Yasha nodded. “I fought many other children while I was a child. Most of those fights were to the death.”
Beau’s welted widened and her mouth hung open. “You killed other kids?!”
Yasha’s head hung with shame. “I was being primed as the Skyspear’s greatest weapon.”
“And then she totally fucked you over,” Beau said.
Yasha shrugged. “I knew the rules. So did Zuala. But.”
“The heart wants what it wants,” Beau said softly, to which Yasha nodded.
They sat in silence for several moments. Beau was lightly running her thumb across Yasha’s knuckles when Yasha finally spoke up.
“I was scared.”
Beau looked up from Yasha’s hand. “Scared?”
Yasha nodded. “I saw you get hit with the arrow. And when you fell I feared I had lost you.”
Yasha looked up at Beau and the human could see fear in Yasha’s eyes. But there was something else there, too, that caused Beau’s breath to catch.
Yasha pulled her hand from Beau’s, only to flip their positions and to hold Beau’s hand in hers. “I have grown fond of you, Beauregard. Far more so than I expected, especially given how little time we’ve known each other.” Yasha’s eyes fell shut and she took a deep breath and blew it out of her nose. “I do not wish for you to get hurt.”
Beau reached out with her other hand and lightly gripped Yasha’s wrist. The barbarian’s other hand lightly laid across Beau’s, gently holding it in its place. “Y-yeah,” Beau said, stuttering slightly, feeling her heart beat rapidly against her ribs. “I like you, too, Yash.”
Yasha gave Beau a small but genuine smile. She squeezed Beau’s hand before gently pulling hers away. “I have to go,” she said, quickly standing.
Beau’s heart immediately sank. “You’re leaving?”
Yasha sighed as she made her way to the yurt’s leather flap that acted as a door. “I need to check with the healers and see how the others are doing.” She turned back to Beau. “You wish me to stay?”
“Of course I want you to stay,” Beau said softly, almost sadly.
Yasha looked at her for a moment, then to the flap, and back to Beau again. She moved back to the bed quickly and bent forward. She raised one hand and gently cradled the back of Beau’s skull and leaned down to place soft kiss at Beau’s hairline. Yasha pulled away only to press her forehead against Beau’s quickly.
“I’ll be quick,” she whispered before pulling away and quickly headed outside.

Untitled 3x02 Coda #1
If RNM isn’t going to give us Malex, fine. That’s what fanfic is for.
---------
Outside the cave, far enough that Jones can't hear him, Michael lets go of all the anger and frustration that's built up over the past several hours. Hears tree limbs snap and rock tumble and crash around him, and when he opens his eyes it looks like a small tornado has passed through the area. His truck is untouched, right where he parked it outside the cave entrance, and Michael runs a hand over the driver side door, taking a deep breath. He does feel slightly better now, his skin no longer feels too tight, his mind isn't racing quite so quickly.
He drives. Away from Jones, and away from the caves. He thinks of stopping at the Pony, drowning himself in alcohol - except for the fact that Maria is still angry at him. But he won't apologize for that. He still can't believe how reckless she was, jumping off the roof of the Crashdown in some dumbass attempt to trigger her visions.
Thinking of her reminds him of her words again, how she'd pointed out he never seemed to have any ill effects from using his abilities. How had he not noticed? How had Max and Isobel not noticed? Had they chalked it up to the booze and acetone? Did they really think he was that much of a drunk to never say anything as they chugged acetone after using their abilities?
Alex had made comments. Several, over the past couple years. Ones that struck him to his core that Alex would assume something like that. Maybe he deserved it, choosing booze and acetone to quiet the chaos of his mind, needing to silence it somehow and not knowing how.
Even when he tries not to think about Alex, his mind eventually settles there, and Michael tries not to think too hard about that. What it means.
He realizes he's a block away from Alex's house, and turns down the street. The lights are off, except for the yard lights, and Alex's SUV is missing. He lets the truck idle, as he looks over the house, mentally scolding himself why he'd ended up here of all places. Alex doesn't need to hear about Michael's issues.
It's probably a stupid decision, Michael thinks, as he turns off the engine and pushes open the door, walking around to the rear of his truck and pulling down the tailgate. He's spent enough time tonight sitting outside his trailer, lost in his thoughts. The change of scenery might be good - even if this is where he ended up.
What Michael doesn't expect is Alex's SUV to appear not soon afterward. And what he really doesn't plan on seeing is Alex in his dress blues uniform as he steps out of the car. The shirt is open, hanging loose and revealing a white tshirt underneath. There's something clutched in his hand that Michael can't make out, and thinks maybe it doesn't matter.
"What are you doing here, Guerin?" Alex sounds tired. About as tired as Michael feels.
"I was trying to clear my head, and I just-" he stops and shakes his head, realizing how stupid this was. "I'll get out of your way."
"No, that's not-" Alex takes a step forward, his hand reaching towards Michael, like he's going to stop him. "That's not what I meant. Sorry, it's been a long day."
Michael laughs. "Tell me about it." He nods at Alex, trying to indicate his uniform. "Fancy Air Force thing?"
Alex bites his lip, and turns away, like he's debating talking about it at all. And Michael knows Alex has his secrets, doesn't always tell people what he's doing - hell, he up and left for a year to clean up Project Shepherd and barely told anyone. "Something like that."
Michael nods, understanding. But he also knows Alex is lying, he just doesn't understand why.
"You've been gone so long - there's a lot happening here too."
"Kyle told me about Max. I'm so sorry, Guerin."
"You know, last year, after everything, after nearly losing him, I thought things were getting better. Maria broke up with me, you disappeared - but I had Max and Isobel. And now-" Michael hates how deeply it hurts to think about losing Max again. For good.
"But he can't be saved again?"
"He doesn't want to be."
Alex looks taken aback, and Michael just feels frustrated. How much does he even want to tell Alex? Everything? He doesn't know. But maybe - maybe when Alex said he wanted to be friends, this is what he meant.
"How could he not?"
"His body is rejecting Noah's heart. He's known since last year, and never said a goddamn word about it." He hopes Alex can read what he's not saying, the words he can't bring himself to say - about how angry he is at Max for this decision, for not saying anything, for not letting them try and figure out a way to save him. Because he doesn't know what he's going to do if Max dies.
Michael's not sure he can stand losing anyone else.
"And there's no other aliens to do a heart transplant," Alex says quietly. sitting down on the tailgate next to him, fidgeting with the thing in his hands until Michael realizes it's part of his uniform as the light reflects off a Captain's bars badge.
Except there is someone.
There is someone in a cave out in the desert, locked up behind a cage that he built. Someone who is a replica of Max, who shares his DNA, who could be an exact match for Max.
"That's not - there might be someone."
"What?"
Taking a deep breath, Michael closes his eyes and stubbornly chooses not to look at Alex. "Last year, out in the desert, we found the stowaway who crashed the ship. My mother - Isobel and my mother - they had locked him up down in a cave."
Yeah, Michael realizes how ridiculous it probably sounds to somehow else.
"Iz and I have been trying to get answers from him, about where we came from, and why we're here-"
"Everything you've wanted to know."
This is where it gets difficult, and Michael pushes up off the tailgate, pacing around the driveway, rocks kicking up beneath his boots as he walks, Alex's gaze on him, but Michael can't focus on that right now.
"Maybe not! Because everything he says makes me wonder if anything Tripp wrote in that journal was true. Because according to him, she and Isobel's mom engineered Max as a weapon to fight back against some sort of planetary dictator, and kept him a prisoner."
"Guerin," Alex says, cutting into his rant. "I was there with you that day at the prison. She loved you. Even I could see that. So maybe it's not as black and white as you think."
"He said she chained up a kid, Alex," he snaps, his skin suddenly feeling too tight, his mind racing too fast. "What part of that isn't black and white?"
Too caught up in his pacing, in the chaos building in his mind, Michael spins on his heel and almost runs into Alex, who is standing in front of him now, hand held out in front to keep Michael from plowing him over. But it doesn't matter, because he feels himself shatter from the inside out, the tears in his eyes spilling over. He'd already cried once today over what he thought he knew about his mother, wasn't that enough?
"She loved you," Alex insists, his voice sounding annoyingly firm. "She found a way to travel across the universe because she loved you."
He hates how Alex makes it sound so simple, as if that love should be enough. But when has love ever done him any good? He'd told Isobel once, love is the worst thing that ever happened to me and hates that it's still true. His mother had loved him, and ended up here, where she'd died without ever getting to see him. He loved Alex, and that had been nothing but pain and heartache. He loved Maria, who instead had broken up with him. He loved Max and Isobel, and yet now Max was deciding to leave him.
"To escape a dictator! To escape someone who is my-" Michael stops short, pulling his words back. He doesn't want to call someone who is a dictator his father. He doesn't want to use that word. "I'm just the product of my mother needing to convince the dictator she was on his side."
Alex reaches out, taking his left hand, the hand still covered by the bandana because of Max's stupid decision to heal it without permission. The hand that he needed to keep the reminder that it's not worth it to think there's good in anything. Michael is glad when Alex doesn't try to remove it, just wraps his fingers around the palm and holds their hands up against his chest, near where Alex's heart is.
"Even if that's what she did, it doesn't mean she loved you any less."
He hates how convinced Alex sounds, as though the rest of it doesn't matter. He wishes it were that simple, that he could just forget everything else.
With one last squeeze of his hand, Alex lets them drop, and nods towards his house. "It's been a hell of a day - wanna come in and I'll tell you about it?"
Alex's military service is something Michael has never been fond of. The fighting, the rules, the fact that it's the reason Alex got injured - but maybe, he thinks, maybe tonight it'll be a good distraction for him.
He nods, and follows Alex inside.

Request by, @sykesommers <3: "Maybe Austin being protective / how he'd behave in a situation where he feels the need to be protective over the reader?? ALSO i don't mind the reader's gender. Feel free to choose the prompt as you like, i'm gonna read it anyway!!! xx"
Kept
this is literally a mashup of brain difficulties but read ahead lmfao
w: gender neutral / weapon mention
Tumblr media
You only looked back once again, attempting to hide the neck they thirsted so desperately over as much as possible whilst your natural scent made it evident that you weren't one of them. The bloodsucking creatures. The banging and ringing on Austin's door becoming louder sounds than what you'd expect your hands to make, and the strange roaring nearing and echoing into the darkness which resided behind you.
"For fuck's sake. Austin! Please!" you decided to call out for him once more, there not a being a single sign of life in his house. Soon though, believing you were far too young to die, you've decided to face the fact that you had no choice but to become the creatures' meal for the night, knowing Austin was probably nowhere near you and you were far too defenseless against the monsters. You only growing weaker from the freezing weather outdoors, and feeling yourself go dizzy from all the breath you've been wasting, waving and screaming at the vamps you finding yourself feeling exhausted now from fighting for your life, the fight you've been at war against ever since your boyfriend, Austin's, taken the pill. The muse, of success and tragedy all in one.
"Fine! Fine! you guys win! there's really nothing worth fighting for, is there? just come a-and get your jobs done!" you screamed at the creatures, observing how their speed rappend to the honest words that fell out of your mouth, their roarings and hissings growing louder with them.
Them being just a few feet away now, you shut your eyes in hopes the pain will be reduced at least the slightest, for you not to die in fear of watching the monsters rip your limbs apart one by one and finally at last, to eat you alive. You just keeping your eyes closed, and breathing in, soon attempting to exhale that deep breath in.. before getting abruptly interrupted by a loud-
"HEY! ENOUGH! GO AWAY! (one vamp nearing your exposed neck, sniffing and caressing, you keeping your eyes shut) AWAY NOW!" you heard Austin demand out, whilst he reloaded his shotgun, from which you believed he would've just returned from his trip from hunting.
Standing still in that same spot you hadn't moved away from not for a second, shaking and panicking to how close you were from death itself you exhaled deeply with monstrous cough. Austin soon rushing over towards you and hugging you tightly, fowarded with a quick pinch on your ass.
"Told you not to come by here after nooonnnn..." he fooled around, opening the many locks on his modern door and pushing you inside, the expensive black beanie he wore immediately coming off of his head with an exaggerated sigh.
"I wanted to see you though." you proclaimed, referring to how semi-rudely he reminded you of your curfew as a non-bloodsucking human, it being for your own safety of course.
"Ha!? Was it worth nearly dying on my front door, though?" he returned, smirking slightly to how cocky he knew he was being to such a scary scenario. His eyes growing dark as he licked his lips, removing yet another layer of clothing, leaving him in a striped sweater and some black fitted pants, the many jewelry he wore, decorating him into looking like such a lovely thing.
"Yeah, it was worth it." you whispered to yourself, taking a seat on the sofa by the fireplace he never seemed to turn off, attempting to warm yourself up, it being too difficult with the many layers of clothing you wore yourself.
"ya know ya not warming up that easily, right? right." Austin bubbled, his energy as active as it's always been, him walking to his drinks cabinet, pulling out three cups, carefully and elegantly pouring a clear-fluid to which you would've guessed vodka, him soon opening yet another bottle and pouring some of it's liquid into the bigger cup, to then shaking it dramatically and pouring an equal amount of the mixture on both of your guys' glass cups.
You only watched and mimicked his relaxing gestures, removing the black coat and winter hat you wore, laying back onto the sofa comfortably with a relaxed sigh.
"Here, baby. This'll calm you down." he offered the cup he made for you, his smile wide and sympathetic, unnoticeably demonstrating his adorable smile lines.
"I wonder.. what will happen when they actually, like.. y'know? eat me? kill me? whatever the fuck that it is what you guys do?" you allowed the words that scrambled around your mind to finally flow out through your lips, your tone being so honest yet so aggressive. Sommers only looked up at you once and proceeded to take another sip of his drink, gently tapping his rings against the glass, it creating such a unique beat.
"See y/n. That just won't happen. I'll always be here protecting you no matter what."
"But how about today? It's not like I nearly died or something ?"
(Sommers chuckling to your sarcastic comment, nearly drowning himself with the liquid he had in his mouth, it spilling all over himself) "It was on purpose, let's call it a lesson. Told you that these "monsters" you call are very observant. They're thirsty for your blood."
"And you aren't?" you respond, shooting your eyes back at his, whom wided just a bit to your rhetorical question.
"Well, as long as you continue fucking me im satisfied." he replied.
let me sneak in these headcanons because i literally didn't even write about what you requested lol
will literally eat anyone who tries to even touch you
just know he'll definitely hurt their feelings beforehand though
maybe will even go out with you in drag just to keep people away from you lmao
definitely makes you carry a pistol around for sure
also don't forget the pepper spray, taser, disguised blades and brass knuckles
now if he knows there's danger around, know he'll take you somewhere safe even before explaining the situation to you
you're his main priority.
edward and bella vibes ;)
@divineruler @cheetos-paternity-test @evanmybeloved @billyhxrgrove @sinnersblood @crssjjh @mossybank @the-hotel-cortez @undeadcortez (dm to be added or removed, lovelies <3)
may or may not come back to this and add/make it a smut because that's all im good at, ok bye

The trouble final pt.
Tumblr media
A/N- it's over :( I’m sad that it is, but I’m so thankful for all of you that read it and stuck around to finish with me :)
Warning- ANGST, talks of loss and grief, ptsd, Violence, blood, light fluff
Pairing- Jesse x fem!reader
——
“Give me your arm again,” Ellie mutters after she had cleared the room that had once been filled with enemies part of the same group as those two me she, and you had taken out. “It’s—”
“It’s okay,” you cut her off and pull your arm away before she could grab it again. “It won’t change sizes, or color in the last ten minutes that you checked.”
After finding out that you had gotten bit by the infected that the man taunted you with, Ellie has been careful with you, she’s made sure that you wouldn’t strain yourself, she’s kept you from helping her fight the danger that lingered, as if you were some child.
And you understood why she kept insisting on trying to keep you from harm's way, she was being cautious, she was worried, but that isn’t going to change the outcome of your dooming fate.
“We could try cutting it off,” she insisted again, hoping that this time you’d change your mind.
You shake your head, “no, we don’t have the proper equipment.” You sit up and begin walking out of the broken down corner store. “I’d end up bleeding to death instead. Plus,” you sigh. “We don’t have time. Not if we want to reach Abby.”
Ellie follows behind you slowly, albeit somewhat lagging behind as she comes across good loot to collect. “We?” She quieres, “it’s we now?”
Your gaze drops to the ground, seeing the natural greenery that cracked through the sidewalk and began to take back its natural place. “I told you my reason already. No matter what’s happening, I’m sticking to it.” You feel chills all over your body and when your head lifts and your eyes flicker to her passing you, that’s where you see him again; Jesse. The bullet that shot through his face and took his life. His cold dead eyes were piercing into you, and his body was stuck in place, unable to even move but causing the same effect it always did.
Ellie noticed your wavered attention, followed your line of vision and saw nothing and knew what was happening. But perhaps that was because of the horror in your eyes. Regardless, she didn’t question it, she just walked towards you to break you from your stupor. “It’s not far anymore. We’re almost where the man told us. I see the round building.”
You pull your eyes from the now empty space where Jesse had been to glance back at Ellie and follow right behind her—for the most part it was silent, but as far as your mind, it was loud and booming with different racing thoughts and memories.
——
Ellie’s eyes follow your line of vision to the couple quietly talking amongst themselves in the far end of the room. And at first she didn’t think much of it. Actually she simply ignored it and just thought you might be spacing out, but just as she was going to look away the young girl in front of the tall guy with dark shaggy hair, caught her attention. Ellie did a double take and found herself captive by the girl's looks; her long dark hair styled in a ponytail, the light freckles on her face and her bright, charming smile.
She couldn’t keep herself from asking about her in complete starstricken awe. “Who’s that?”. Albeit her words didn’t register in your mind until she grabbed your shoulder and ripped you from your own awe. “Y/N?!”
You blink and look down at the drink in your hand, thinking she was referring to the guy and smiling softly as you answered. Even if a slow sizzling jealousy did begin to boil in the pit of your stomach because she asked. “That’s Jesse.”
Clueless to the fact that you told her the guy's name, Ellie nodded and slowly turned her head to pick up her drink from the table, unable to keep a smile from tugging on her lips. Her curiosity got the best of her before she could even think of taking a sip from her drink like she had planned to. “Is Jesse…dating someone?”
You glance at Jesse and answer her with bitterness in your tone. “Yeah, he's dating Dina. The girl he’s talking to.”
Ellie snaps her head and takes another look at the couple before looking at you with confusion. “Wait, Jesse is the boy? Or the girl?”
“The boy,” you tell her.
“Oh.” Ellie’s eyebrows furrow deeper and thinks that the name Dina suits the girl a lot better. It was actually a pretty name.
“Wait, why do you ask?” You probe as you shift around to look at her better. “Do you…” you pause and narrow your eyes. “…think Jesse is cute?”
“What?” Ellie scoffs with even more confusion. “No. No,” she shakes her head, “I thought the girl was named Jesse, since when I asked you for her name you said that.”
Oh. It makes sense now.
“Oh,” you breathe out and then smirk when you realize why she asked if Dina was dating anyone. “Do you think Dina is cute?” You sip on your straw and raise your eyebrows.
Ellie’s cheeks turn to a tint pink and she looks away from you to hide her flustered smile. “No. Just curious.” She turns her head and smirks when she looks at you. “Do you like Jesse?”
You sigh and look at your hands on the table. “Yeah, but well he’s dating Dina, so I can’t really tell him how I feel can I?” Your heart sinks to your stomach, but you try to ignore the gloomy feelings. “Regardless, he’s a good friend, so I’m better off not telling him anything at all.”
Ellie’s eyes wander to Dina for a brief moment and just like you, a heaviness sets over her heart because of the girl that she can’t try and pursue. You both were stuck looking from afar like a couple of love-struck idiots.
But maybe it was better off that way. Looking from afar.
Neither of you would get hurt that way. If only it was that easy to keep looking and not desire their love in return. Especially when you have to face them everyday of your life, around the same four walls that kept you secure from the rotting, walking corpses…and other humans.
Why couldn’t things be simpler?
When you steal a glance from Jesse that’s all you asked for. Which was such a funny thing to ask with the world as it was. It made you wonder if people back then asked the same thing?
How’s having clickers for simple?
Nonetheless that’s what you wanted right now. A simple life…or really simple feelings, platonic feelings for the guy you’ve known for too many years now. It would make those thoughts—dreams you had of an intended life with him nonexistent. It would make being around him feel like nothing.
Why couldn't life be so simple—why couldn’t your feelings be simple?
——
“Through here,” Ellie waves you over into a dimly lit hall that was crowded with a bunch of old broken furniture and worn down junk that covered wooden doors, leaving an open path towards a darker-lit corridor. Making this part of the invasion the simplest part of sneaking inside.
“Sneaking inside this building was much harder than actually getting in the property,” you snap in a sharp whisper as you turn off your flashlight and continue behind Ellie, seeing her peek over her shoulder to steal a quick glance as she remarks on your comment.
“Tell me about it.” She scoffs and stops in front of the only unblocked door after turning the corner. “Would’ve been much easier if you stuck behind like I asked.”
You narrow your gaze on her and stop to put your hand on your hip and retort. “You know I’m not a child. Maria doesn’t even treat me this way. I can take care of myself.”
“You’ve never been bit, that's why.” Ellie snaps, her back still facing you and her head turning to face the door after she caught what came out of her mouth.
When her words hit you too, you drop the sass and exhale deeply, letting a sorrow filled frown replace the curled lip. Instead of responding to her with something you know would weigh down on the already heavy subject, you just smoothly change it to the matters in front of her. “Are you going in first, or should I?”
Ellie rolls her shoulders back and straightens her posture to slowly push the door forward, and reveal another poorly lit, dirty room. This time however, whispers came from beyond the shadows of the room, making Ellie put her hand out, signaling you to wait as she carefully snuck inside with her revolver in hand.
Not like you listened albeit, because once she had taken a few steps inside you followed behind her with your hand around your weapon. However once you stepped inside the room your eyes instantly fell on the cell filled with people all poorly taken care of, people they called their prisoners and proved that letter you found about an escapee right. The sight shook you to your core and froze you just under the doorway, that hesitance causing you to miss the woman who jumped out from behind the door and attacked Ellie with a bat like some crazy person.
Of course, Ellie reacted quickly and managed to jerk back, grabbing a hold of the bat and shoving the woman to the wall by pressing the wooden weapon against her throat. But since Ellie was wounded, and weak from lack of food, the woman overpowered her, caught her off guard, and kicked her injured side to then push her to the floor when Ellie was hit with that throbbing and blinding pain.
The woman thought she was going to win, but she hadn’t seen you when she just abruptly attacked without a plan, leaving you with the perfect chance to sprint forward and grab the side of her head, completely startling her. She tried to rip your hands off, but you punctured your thumb into her eye beforehand, causing her to groan out in pain whilst you lifted your leg to kick her towards the cell where the prisoners got ahold of her instead.
“Ellie,” you instantly called out in worry, letting the people behind the cell overpower their captor and take her out with a hard squeeze to her throat with the same bat she used on Ellie— “Are you okay?” You offer her your hand to help her off the floor, and she takes it without an ounce of hesitance. The moment she stands up though, is when you see that more blood began to leak from her wound. She noticed your worried stare and just covered it with her hand, pulling your eyes up to meet her gaze for a lingering second before she looked at the prisoners. You follow her line of vision and watch the prisoners letting themselves out of the cell and quickly occupying their hands with different guns.
Before the prisoners leave Ellie leaves your side and steps towards them with an obvious question. “Where’s Abby?”
They all glance at each other and before any could answer, a woman points out what you thought you had well hidden. “She’s bit!”
A man beside the woman doesn’t fret to point his rifle at you, triggering Ellie instantly and causing her to point her gun at them as she spat out at the man in a venomous tone. “Don't point that gun at her!”
Seeing the gun in hand pointed at the man, those behind him point their weapon at the both of you and surround you with one single intention in mind. Yet before they could act on it, an older man comes in between all of you. “Hey, hey, hey! Abby tried to escape.”
Ellie’s aim on the man falters, and her glare shifts to the man who continues. “She’s down in the pillars.”
“The pillars?” Ellie presses for clarity.
“Head down to the beach,” the man motions out the door with his head. “You won’t miss it. She’s probably already dead.”
With nothing else to ask, or share, the prisoner, Ellie and you, slowly step away from each other and part your own ways; with the prisoners leaving out the door you just came out of, Ellie and you march out the double doors the man had pointed to. Yet the beach wasn’t outside these doors, it would be much easier if it was, but no, you were welcomed by a dark hall, that was purely lit by the moonlight that peeked through the broken windows on the wall. Still the menacing darkness didn’t scare you away, you both continued down the path that led to a broken pair of doors that led to a brighter room, one that smelled like rotten, and moist wood.
Besides that annoying smell, the old, green covered patio was easy to navigate through, even with its broken floors and disorganized room. But through the silence between your friend and you, the sound of gunshots, and shouting against the new threat that escaped from the cell easily and loudly echoed in your ears, even after you jumped a small ledge and walked between the palm trees that scattered when you finally reached the beach.
However, salt, nor water is what you smelled, instead the stench of blood, and putrid aroma of death tickled your nose, almost causing you to gag. You would have thrown up if it wasn’t for all the people you saw tied to actual pillars on the beach. Most were already dead—all were already dead, most were just left as skeletons.
It was such a horrifying sight, like straight out of a nightmare. You’ve heard of tortures like this from Tommy, from other older people in town who experienced similar situations but you never thought it was real. You could never believe it.
“Ellie,” you murmur in disbelief, your eyes unable to stop glancing at every body tied up to pillars when you pass by them in search of one woman. “We should just—”
“There.” Ellie blurted in what almost sounded like excitement. “She’s there.”
Ellie points to a figure up on a pillar, and that’s when you see her. Abby; She’s a lot skinnier now from the lack of food every person not part of the gang seemed to suffer through, her hair was cut close to her scalp, her clothes were torn and her muscles were almost completely gone, leaving nothing behind but slightly toned arms. She didn’t even look alive, but her raspy voice proved otherwise.
“Help me…please.”
It was shocking hearing her talk, but instead of feeling pity, sadness and an urgency to help her, knowing you could, all you felt was an unknown uncontrollable and blinding anger that invaded your mind and judgment. All the sorrow you felt was for the man she killed, the man you loved. She took him right as you both had gotten the chance to finally discover what it was like to love each other. That anger that you warned Ellie about, the rage and thirst for revenge that you’d seen burning in Tommy’s eyes, now overwhelmed you too. It completely fueled wild and violent, revenge filled thoughts that you once thought vile.
Now you shared what motivated Ellie to leave behind her life on her farm.
“It’s you…” Abby whispers hoarsely after she picks up her head and spots Ellie, leaving you to be almost invisible in her eyes. If it wasn’t because Ellie surprisingly let her down from the pillar you would’ve remained nothing but a shadow. Alas Abby saw your face behind Ellie’s when she managed to stand on her feet, she didn’t recognize you at first, but then you saw the flash in her eyes when the memory faded in.
Albeit she didn’t react any differently, instead Abby simply walked to that boy she had been with before; he looked skinnier now, just as weak as Abby. He’s someone you felt pity for, your fight wasn’t with him, but you still did nothing to help, you stood frozen behind Ellie, shocked that she tied down Abby instead of using her switchblade to finish her off. That state of disbelief only heightened when you both began to follow Abby towards boats.
You sought for answers with a simple look, but Ellie’s expression on her beaten face gave nothing but rage. You almost wanted to end the ache you felt in the fragments of your shattered heart, however right when you raised your trembling gun, there he was. Jesses ghost reappearing. He stopped you from acting on revenge, but fueled an adrenaline you couldn’t act on. Not with how Ellie was holding back after coming all this way. You couldn’t help but wonder out loud.
“Ellie, what are you doing? She's right there.” You come to a stop on the side of a small boat, meeting Ellie’s gaze. “Let’s do it. Let’s kill her.” Your eyes drift behind her shoulder to look at Abby, seeing her seem eager to get out of here with the boy without as much of a question of why you were both here. It’s as if she didn’t care. It pissed you off. It made you eager to just kill her yourself.
And it was due to that eagerness that blinded you that you didn’t see Ellie’s sudden switch with the sight of her blood on her hand. It wasn’t until you heard the water clash with her stride towards Abby. Her voice broke through your ears and made your eyes focus intently on her. “I can’t let you leave.”
You take a step back, intending to walk to her side for aid, but you stop when Abby responds with such nonchalance. “I’m not doing this.”
Those words trigger Ellie, causing her to take those last steps towards Abby to grab her shoulder and her hair to forcefully throw her to the water. Continuing then to kick her side and making Abby groan, but not fight back. She just stayed in the water and simply shook her head, “no. I’m not going to fight you.” Abby looks back at you and shakes her head. “Either of you.”
Again you stand frozen. Her words stung like cold ice against your skin, they just stomped on your already broken heart and broke it to finer pieces within your chest. How could she just decide that after what she did?
Then again….
…no…
Ellie killed Abby's friends. All of them. But it was for Joel….but….Abby was down, she pleaded for mercy even if she didn’t directly say it.
Why is your mind so confused? Why did this hunger for revenge suddenly begin to fade away? Just when it started?
What would’ve Jesse done?
Your eyes fall on your bite from that infected and then you glance at the vision of Jesse. His bloody face reminded you of what you wanted….of what Tommy wanted, even if it wasn’t for Jesse’s death. And you tried to force your anger to be as furious as moments ago.
“Yes, you will.” Ellie seethed, pulling your eyes back to her as she stormed towards Abby's boat and threatened his life with her blade against his throat. Not like he could even fight back, he was too weak to even open his eyes. It should’ve made you protest, but Abby beat you to it.
“He’s not a part of this.”
“You made him a part of this.” Ellie retorted angrily.
Abby stands up and says, “okay, okay,” to give Ellie what she wanted. A fight that would deem one winner, and it was obvious who. Even as Abby charged at Ellie and tackled her to the ground first, you knew in the back of your head Ellie would win.
Even still though, you watched their fight attentively. Maybe you should’ve helped, but this solely felt like Ellie’s fight now. Because again, you couldn’t find it in yourself to act on those feelings.
Nonetheless when your eyes fell on Abby's boat whilst Ellie swung her blade and fought her, Jesse’s haunting ghost made you think of taking what Abby loved the most. The kid—he was there, you could slip by them now that Ellie had forced Abby to the ground with a harsh jab on her shoulder. Abby wouldn't be able to stop you until it was too late, she’d only see his dead body just like how you saw Jesse when you ran out of the theater. She’d suffer the same way, she’d stay on the ground in shock and broken hearted, it would be good revenge to finally stop seeing Jesse’s dead body haunt you.
But you didn’t want to—your eyes return to Ellie and Abby fighting to watch neither of them get the upper hand. Ellie managed to stab her blade through Abby's shoulder when they were on the ground, but Abby reacted quickly and kicked Ellie off her, only continuing the fight, this time with no weapons, just their fists. It left the kid open.
Even if you didn’t want to, you walked past the boat and slowly walked towards the boy. You didn’t stop until you were beside it and overlooking the unconscious boy. And just like you had predicted Abby didn’t stop you, she couldn’t because she didn’t know you were here now, Ellie knocking her to the ground kept her distracted. This was your chance.
You lift your own knife and move your hand towards the boy's throat, the tip of your blade hovers inches over his skin; one more inch and the blade would puncture his skin and flesh, he'd be dead, Abby would have no one. She’d feel your heartbreak. Jesse would be avenged….
The knife in your hand begins to tremble, and hesitation pulls back your hand. Your heart aches every day, the nightmares never stop, continuing everyday felt like being stabbed multiple times all over your body, but it wouldn’t change anything, killing the boy wouldn't stop the vision of Jesse’s dead body from reappearing. Jesse would know that. He knew that when it came down to it he’d have to do bad things, but he was also merciful when he could. He wouldn’t do this, not to the kid. You can’t either. You can’t kill Abby either, it wasn’t right.
These couldn’t be your last moments either. Which is why instead of falling prey to revenge, the knife in your hold falls from your grip and your body crashes down into the water. However instead of crying, you find yourself being more worried over Ellie. You couldn’t lose her….even if she was going to lose you, you couldn’t fathom the thought of losing her now. You needed her in your last moments.
However when you look at her, she’s proving you right, she’s on top of Abby and keeping her underwater to keep her from breathing. She’s moments away from winning, from finally killing Joel’s killer and completing her revenge. The thought of stopping her popped in your head, but this was her fight, she needed to make her decision. Even as you saw Abby struggle to resurface to breathe in air, you couldn’t stop Ellie now.
You watched the rain in her eyes, watched tears and ocean water glisten on her face, cleaning the blood off her cheeks. You waited to be there for her when she was done. But the moment never came, Ellie let go of Abby, letting her resurface to gulp in a breath of fresh air whilst she fell down. She chose to let Abby go and the girl took that chance after she recuperated enough to move. You let her go too. She never paid any attention to you until she glanced at you once because you were beside her boat, but that was it, she left with no hesitation after.
Leaving Ellie panting, and crying as she stayed sitting in the water. You let her have time alone for a little, but it was through the silence after Abby and the boy left that it all set in. The ultimate and unavoidable truth. You’ve tried to ignore any symptom that you could feel due to the bite, which didn’t turn out to be hard since well so far all you’ve felt is a slight annoying dull pain. Any other effect had yet to set in, but the wait was the most irritating side effect.
That and noticing that Ellie couldn’t even face you; due to her processing what just happened, what caused her to let Abby go, and that looking at you without having the mission of finding Abby as a distraction meant that she has to face the harsh truth of your death. She had to face the fact that she was losing someone else, she was going to lose someone else to the infection she couldn’t prevent. She was going to be alone.
“Ellie,” you mutter as your footsteps crash on the water while you slowly step towards her. “It was a good thing that you let them go.”
Said girl sits down in the water, letting the small waves crash into her legs, and feeling the breeze blow past her hair and wet her face, mixing her tears with water droplets.
“You’re right…” she breathes out, dropping her head to look at the cold dark blue water. “Joel wouldn’t have wanted it. I’m sorry I didn’t realize that sooner.”
Your lips tug to a smile and you sit beside her, the feeling of your body brushing against hers making her lift her gaze to steal a quick glance. “Why didn’t you stop her? You seemed eager at the end.”
You sigh and dip your fingers in the water to gently sway them back and forth while you answer her. “Realization set just like with you. The nightmares won’t go away anytime soon, and killing her wouldn’t have solved anything either.”
“Nightmares?” Ellie scoffs, finally daring to meet your gaze. “You're still worried about that.”
You laugh softly and glance at the bite on your arm before looking back at her again. “It’s weird, I thought it would hurt, but all I feel is annoyed. No fever, no pain. Nothing.”
Ellie straightens up and her eyebrows furrow as her eyes fixate on your bite mark. “Nothing?” She repeats and the back of her hand presses on your forehead. “Hmm. Maybe we’ll both live with that burden then. Would be nice.”
You offer her a soft smile and grab her hand to interlace it with yours. Feeling hope piece together the fragments of your broken heart. “I guess we’ll have to wait then, to see what the future holds.”
Ellie’s eyes shift to the grey clouded sky, while her hold secures around your hand in hopes that by doing so you wouldn’t leave her. She hoped that her words would be the manifestation needed to keep you alive and keep you from leaving. She couldn’t lose someone else. She couldn’t bear feeling that pain all over again. “Well, I hope you do live.”
A grin spreads on your lips, and your head falls on her shoulder as your own eyes drift to watch the clouded horizon in a peaceful, waiting silence.

Jimmy 🔪 Pix >:(
so this is a kind of sequel to this one :D
(also i’m assuming you wanted Jimmy/Pixl angst not Jimmy and Pixl fighting each other LMAO)
cw blood
Even though it’s extremely different to his own and there’s hardly any water around, Jimmy enjoys being in Pixl’s kingdom. Pixl’s style of architecture is very different to Jimmy’s, and there’s always something new to look at.
One day, he’s on the outskirts of Pixandria, looking out across the desert towards where his empire would be, when he hears a familiar voice from behind him. “Oh, hey, Jimmy! There you are. Been looking all over for you.”
Recognising the voice immediately, Jimmy’s heart freezes but he quickly forces his fear down and turns to face the person. “What do you want, fWhip?”
“I just came over to see if you wanted to trade for your cod mask,” replies fWhip casually.
“Oh-!” Jimmy had not been expecting that. “Yes, I want it back!”
fWhip beams innocently. “Great! I want your empire.”
Jimmy blinks.
“I’m not kidding. Give me your empire and I’ll give you your cod mask back.”
For several seconds, Jimmy can’t quite manage to speak. “...you say you’re not kidding but you gotta be. There’s no way I’d trade my empire for ANYTHING, let alone the mask that YOU stole from me.”
“Oh, okay, fair enough,” says fWhip. “How about twenty shulker boxes full of slime blocks?”
“fWhip!” Jimmy snaps.
fWhip shrugs. “Or your life. I’d give it back to you if you let me kill you.”
Again, Jimmy blinks in surprise. “...really…?”
“Yeah!” fWhip’s innocent smile returns. “You seem interested so yeah, let’s go with that. If you let me kill you, I’ll give you your cod mask back.”
Strangely, this offer is tempting. Just a few seconds of pain and Jimmy will get his cod mask back? Considering the terrifying things fWhip is capable of, surely this is the best possible option…?
But on the other hand… there’s so much potential for things to go wrong.
“I shouldn’t let you do that,” Jimmy murmurs. “I really, really shouldn’t let you do that.”
“Then you’re not getting your cod mask back,” replies fWhip simply, turning away.
“Wait…!” Jimmy says hurriedly. “I… Please, there’s gotta be something easier to give that you want.”
fWhip turns back to face him, a scary smile on his face. “Nope, I’m set on this now. I want to kill you, Jimmy. It felt great doing it before when I acquired your mask, and it’ll be great to do it again.”
As Jimmy opens his mouth to respond, fWhip takes a step towards him, drawing his sword. Jimmy hurriedly backs away. “Nonononono! fWhip, no!”
fWhip slams his foot into Jimmy’s stomach, knocking him to the floor and snatching all the breath from his lungs. Jimmy screams hoarsely as fWhip looms over him and lifts his sword.
“Get away from him!”
A figure flies out of nowhere and barges into fWhip, knocking him away from Jimmy. He stands in front of Jimmy, sword and shield at the ready, protecting Jimmy from fWhip.
“Well, well, well,” scoffs fWhip. “The Copper King. Didn’t expect to see you.”
Pixl narrows his eyes. “This is MY empire.”
“I meant I didn’t expect to see you actually defending your little ally here.” fWhip pulls an expression of mock concern. “Remind me… where were you when his empire was getting blown up and his precious mask was getting stolen?”
“Don’t play your mind games with me, fWhip,” Pixl growls. “Get out of my empire.”
fWhip shakes his head. “No, I don’t think I will. Not ‘til I get the Codfather’s REAL head.”
Jimmy gasps.
Pixl’s grip on his sword tightens. “That’s not gonna happen. If you want to kill him, you’re gonna have to go through me.”
“That’s so cliche, Pixl,” fWhip sighs.
“I don’t care. One last chance, fWhip. LEAVE.”
fWhip raises an eyebrow. “Make me.”
Before Pixl can react, fWhip charges at him.
As Pixl blocks and then returns the attack, Jimmy scrambles out of the way and rushes to hide behind a rock nearby.
The fight is brief but intense. Both combatants are fairly evenly matched, and despite fWhip’s clear unstable state of mind, Pixl is able to keep him at bay.
Finally, Pixl manages to disarm fWhip and knock him to the ground. He aims his sword at his opponent’s neck. “fWhip, I’m not gonna say it again,” says Pixl coldly. “Get out.”
“You’ve already given me my last chance,” fWhip responds. “You’re not actually gonna kill me, are you?”
“I don’t WANT to, no. But if you refuse to leave Jimmy alone, then I’ll be forced to.”
“And there’s your biggest weakness.”
fWhip suddenly moves lightning fast and sweeps Pixl’s legs out from under him. As Pixl falls with a yelp, fWhip jumps up and snatches Pixl’s sword from his grasp.
“Pixl!” cries Jimmy.
As Pixl starts to get up, fWhip hits him with the shield twice in quick succession: once in the jaw and then in the stomach, knocking him back down. He then holds the point of his sword just above Pixl’s neck, not actually hurting him but close enough to stop Pixl from getting up.
“All this is just for show, isn’t it?” fWhip says tauntingly. “Your copper, your large buildings, your vigil. There’s nothing of substance beneath the surface. I’ve got weapons, tnt, a war machine. I’m not just all bark and no bite, you know. But it seems like you are, and that’s a shame.”
He turns to look at Jimmy, who’s watching this with horror, clutching the rock so tightly that his fingers are turning white. You see this, Jimmy?” He gestures to Pixl with the sword. “This is happening because of you.”
“No!” Pixl gasps out immediately. “Jimmy, this is NOT your fault, okay? Just- Just run!”
“Pixl-!” Jimmy starts.
“Go!”
After a moment, Jimmy takes off running and disappears behind one of Pixl’s buildings.
“You can run but you can’t hide, Jimmy,” fWhip calls after him.
Taking a risk, Pixl rolls to the side, out from under the sword, and leaps to his feet. But as he moves to grab fWhip’s fallen weapon, fWhip intercepts him and stabs him clean through the abdomen with Pixl’s own blade.
Pixl suppresses a grunt; even with the fiery agony exploding from his side, he refuses to give fWhip the satisfaction of hearing him in pain. He weakly pushes fWhip away and fWhip lets him, both of them knowing Pixl is beaten.
fWhip watches Pixl sink to his knees, clutching the bleeding wound in his abdomen, and collapse to the side. He knows what Pixl is waiting for.
“I’m not gonna finish you off, Pixl,” he says. “This is enough for me. If you bleed to death here, it’s no concern of mine.”
Coughing through a mouthful of blood, Pixl manages to keep his eyes open and fixed on fWhip’s face. “Why…?” he rasps. “Why are you d-doing this…?”
fWhip turns and walks away, his last cold words hanging in the air.
“Because I can.”
When he’s sure fWhip is gone, Pixl rolls onto his back, his hands trembling as he tries to stem the bleeding. He forces himself to keep breathing as deeply as he can, his mind racing to find a way he can survive this.
But try as he might, he can’t think of anything he can do.
“Pixl!” comes a voice at that moment. “Oh my gosh…! PIX!”
A second later, Jimmy appears at his side and presses a small handkerchief against Pixl’s wound. “Pix! Y-You’re gonna be okay, Pix! You… You gotta be okay…!”
“Jimmy…” Pixl summons as much strength as he can and pushes Jimmy’s hands away. “P-Please, y-you need to run.”
Jimmy frantically shakes his head. “I’m not leaving you!”
“T-Take my elytra and g-go. There’s r-rockets in my house.”
“I-I can’t leave you here to die, Pix!”
“Please, Jimmy…!” begs Pixl hoarsely. “fWhip is s-still here somewhere. Don’t l-let him get you. J-Just go!”
“NO!” Jimmy’s voice cracks. “I won’t abandon you! It’s you and me, Pix. No matter what.”
“Jimmy-”
At that moment, an arrow flies out of nowhere and strikes Jimmy directly in the chest, causing him to cry out and fall backwards.
“J-Jimmy-!” gasps Pixl.
Lying on the ground almost parallel to Pixl, Jimmy struggles for breath, tears flowing uncontrollably from his eyes. His right hand is closed feebly around the arrow sticking out of his chest, as if there’s anything he can do about it. “Pix…” he chokes. “I’m so sorry…”
“It’s okay, Jimmy,” Pixl croaks back. “This is not your f-fault, okay? It’s n-not your fault.”
Hearing Jimmy suffering and not being able to do anything to help hurts Pixl more than the wound in his stomach. With his last remaining strength, he reaches out and grasps Jimmy’s hand, taking comfort in feeling Jimmy’s grip in return.
“You and me, Jimmy,” he whispers weakly. “You and me.”

I Heard A Rumor...
They land back in 2019, which is a relief, of course, until it’s not.
“What the fuck even is the Sparrow Academy?” Diego grouses. “Lame ass bird fucks.” he chucks one of his knives across the cramped motel room they’re currently occupying and watches it get lodged firmly into the tacky wallpaper.
Allison grabs the second knife Diego’s about to fling out of his hand and glares  daggers at her brother. “We’re staying here for free, because I rumored the motel staff into not noticing we exist, so maybe don’t wreck the place?”
Luther nods in agreement. “Allison’s right, we need to be as inconspicuous as possible right now.”
Diego rolls his eyes. “Whatever. So Five, now what?” the siblings all go to turn to Five for the answers they’re so desperately seeking, only to be met with the sight of the pseudo thirteen year old laid curled up on one of the beds, sound asleep.
Luther frowns. “How in the hell can he seriously sleep at a time like this?”
Allison leans over Fives still form and not so gently shakes his shoulder, jarring him awake. She feels a little guilt upon seeing the initially panicked look on his face as he comes to awareness once again, but damn it, she just wants to see her kid again, is that too much to ask?
“We need to figure out a way to get back to our timeline.” she tells him, arms folded over her chest.
Five scratches the sleep from his eyes, unaware he’d even passed out in the first place, wincing as he sits up fully on the mattress. “This is our timeline.” he informs all of them, his voice coming out scratchy and thin. God, he’s exhausted. And practically everything aches.
“What do you mean?” Klaus shakes his head. “In our timeline Ben is very much dead-not some weird emo douche who flocks with a crew of birds-so please do explain how the actual hell this makes any sense.”
Five sighs, “We changed the linear time of events and the order in which they were supposed to originally occur when we were in the sixties and now this is, for all intents and purposes, our timeline.”
“Screw that. We need to reestablish our actual timeline.” Allison counters. “I’m not staying in this weird alternate bullshit dimension any longer than we have to-we still have the suitcase, right? Let’s go back to the sixties and fix what we broke. Easy.”
Five looks at her like she’s lost her mind. Which, she very well may have, he thinks briefly. “Look, I know you want to see Claire again, but you need to consider-”
“No.” Allison interrupts angrily, tears starting to fill her eyes. “You don’t understand at all. How the hell could you? You haven’t had anyone for years, but me? I’ve had people, people I care about-which might be a foreign concept to someone like you, but-”
“Right,” Five cuts her off in turn, unwilling to linger on the sting her words have caused. “I just need time to-”
“Time? Haven’t you had enough of that, already?” Suddenly the room is engulfed in complete and utter darkness and the Hargreeves go into high alert, trying to figure out where the hell that voice is coming from.
Could it be one of the Sparrow Academy heroes? Could they have followed them to the outskirts of town?
“Show yourself, you coward!” Diego shouts, knives at the ready to attack their intruder.
A flash of thunder illuminates the room for only a split second before the lights come back on and the Hargreeves find themselves frozen in place, unable to move even a muscle, try as they might.
Save for one: Five.
“What the hell...” he mutters, as he watches his siblings struggle to try and move from their positions.
“Now, Allison.” that same disturbing voice commands.
Allisons eyes go wide as her mouth begins to move without her permission and out come the words, “I heard a rumor you killed your brothers and sisters.”
They watch with dawning horror as Fives eyes roll to the back of his head and turn an off shade of blue before he seamlessly plucks Diegos knife from where it was embedded in the wall earlier and faces his family, where they stand, helpless.
“Shit!” Diego curses, trying in vain to move even a single digit.
Vanya tries to conjure her own powers but finds that she can’t for some reason. “Five...” she calls out, knowing it’s futile.
Five blinks over to Klaus first, who yelps in surprise, he barely has time to beg Five to reconsider when Five brings the knife down-
There’s boisterous screaming and panicked yelling and general chaos and Klaus is so sure this is it, that Five has plunged the knife straight into his heart and done away with him, until he opens his eyes and realizes nothing is protruding out of him...
Instead, Five has thrust the knife into his own leg. He’s breathing hard, his trembling fingers still hovering over the hilt of the weapon.
The disembodied voice booms, “Allison!”
And Allison curses, but she can’t stop the words from tumbling out of her mouth. “I heard a rumor you stabbed me in the jugular.”
Fives eyes go pale blue for a second time and without even flinching he takes the knife out of his upper thigh and blinks so that he’s facing Allison this time.
They can all see him struggling, perspiring, fighting against the rumor as he brandishes the knife in one hand, raising it up above his head slowly.
Allison tries to let out another rumor, a contradicting rumor, perhaps, the way she had done when Five had been in front of Klaus, but again, the words get stuck in her throat.
Whatever being is in the room is in total control of her powers...
Allison feels something collide with her neck but it’s not the sharp sting of a knife she’s expecting. It’s Five’s forearm against her, protecting her from his own attack as he shoves the knife directly into his flesh. He’s panting now, with the force that it’s taken him not to obey her mind control.
“Kill them.” the voice demands angrily.
“Fuck you.” Five bites out through clenched teeth.
As if those were the magic words, the voice departs and the Hargreeves can feel their limbs and move about once again, the tense atmosphere dissipating.
“Holy shit!” Klaus gasps out, “What the fuck, Jesus!”
Five grunts as he removes the knife from his forearm and wields it threateningly. “Allison,” he practically begs, his voice strained. “Unrumor me. Now.”
Allison is more than happy to comply, hurriedly saying, “I heard a rumor you didn’t want us dead.”
The knife clatters as it hits the floor and Five collapses next to it a second later, exhausted and hurting something awful.
“Shit,” Diego grabs a bunch of hand towels from the bathroom and kneels down. “We gotta stop the bleeding.” He presses two towels against the stab wound on Fives forearm and Vanya grabs the rest to press against the one on his thigh.
Five tenses up beneath them, his face scrunching up in pain. “Fuck!”
“I saw a first aid kit in the lobby by the front desk, I’ll go get it!” Allison calls out, already halfway out the door in her haste.
“Should we move him to the bed?” Luther asks, hovering over his siblings, concern and anxiety eating away at him.
Diego curses. The hand towels are drenched in blood already. They need to stop the bleeding and soon, or else. “Elevate his leg.” he orders, letting Luther help Vanya try to stem the bleeding there. “Klaus, go get more towels from one of the maids if you can.” Klaus scurries to obey while the others continue to put pressure on Fives multiple injuries.
Klaus and Allison arrive back at the motel room almost simultaneously, one with a stack of clean towels in their arms and the other with a giant red box in hand.
With the extra towels and the supplies from the medical kit, they’re somehow able to stop the bleeding long enough to move Five up to the bed. Luther’s extremely gentle as he transfers him from one spot to the other.
When it’s time to stitch him up, Vanya and Klaus volunteer to do it. Five is too exhausted, both mentally and physically to pretend to be stoic about any of this. He throws his good arm across his face, shielding his eyes from the light.
“What do you guys think that was?” Luther asks the room at large, when the silence stretches on too long.
Klaus doesn’t look up from where he’s threading his needle on Fives thigh, replying dryly. “Yet another person place or thing that wants us dead?”
Diego scoffs. “It’s gotta be one of those Sparrow fuckheads. Who the hell else? I bet it was that goddamn cube-I still can’t believe dad adopted a fucking cube-Christ.”
“Whatever it was, it was in control of my powers.” Allison frowns deeply. “When I tried to unrumor Five nothing came out-even when I tried rumoring one of you into being able to move again, so that at least we would stand a fighting chance against our little serial killer over here, nothing.”
Vanya nods, “Same here. I tried to use my powers but it was like there was some kind of a block or something? Like when I was still taking those prescription pills.” She looks at Fives pale face-what she can see of it, from underneath his forearm-and risks the question, “Five, how did you manage not to....you know...?” As someone who’s had first hand experience being unwillingly rumored by their sister, she knows it’s not something one can easily brush off.
Quite frankly, it’s a miracle they’re all still breathing...
“Yeah, I thought for sure we were dead.” Diego walks over and playfully ruffles the top of Fives messy hair. “Good job not making yourself an only child.” he jokes, freezing entirely when in response to his teasing Five lets out what can only be described as a faint whimper.
“Five?”
“I almost killed everyone.” Five struggles to get the full sentence out, his breath hitching. “Fuck.” he curses, unable to stifle a sob. It’s a pathetically sad little noise, but it brings the rest of his siblings to his side immediately.
“Hey,” Allison kneels down beside the bed and places a careful hand on his knee. She feels him flinch underneath her. “You resisted my rumor-twice. Do you know how rare that is? You saved us.”
Five scrubs his face with the sleeve of his white button up shirt and finally uncovers his eyes. They’re red and puffy from crying, eyelashes wet with his tears. “I don’t want to be alone anymore.” he admits brokenly. “I can’t lose you guys again.”
“Shit Five,” Diego leans down and briefly touches their foreheads together, the palm of his hand cupping Fives head. “You’re not alone, we’re right here. Not going anywhere.”
Vanya nods determinedly. “That’s right. You’re stuck with us.”
Luther towers over the group with a faint but genuine smile. “You know, I always figured you loved us, but I guess I didn’t realize the extent until today.”
Five sniffles, wiping away more tears he can’t seem to stop from coming. “I would trade you all up for a decent cup of coffee.” he lies, feeling more exposed than he has in literal years.
Klaus smirks. “Nuh uh, no take backs, Fivey. You loooooove us.”
Five rolls his eyes but it doesn’t have quite the same effect it normally would, considering the fact that he is still very much crying.
Allison clears her throat, squeezes his knee again, this time to get his attention, and says, “And we love you. I’d ask if you know that, but honestly I think the answer would make me too sad.” she sighs. “Five, I’m really sorry about what I said before-I was taking all my frustrations out on you and I spoke carelessly, without thinking.”
Five shakes his head, overwhelmed. “It’s ok.”
“It’s not.” Allison insists. “Five, I don’t know if anyone’s said this yet, but I think it’s long overdue. I’m so happy to see you again. I missed you, you know. A ton.”
Five didn’t think he was childish enough to still need to hear such silly sentimental things. He’s not the type, he’s tried to convince himself. It’s not as though he was expecting some big tearful family reunion upon his arrival, after all. So he wasn’t crushed or anything when his return was met with little more than perhaps confused contemptment. He had things to do, apocalypses to stop and all that jazz.
That’s what he told himself, of course.
But it doesn’t ring very true now, not when he can’t help but let out another sob.
He’s too old for this, he thinks, as Diego pulls him gently to his side and Allison grabs hold of his hand.
He doesn’t need them to love him back, he thinks, as Klaus finishes taping up his wound with a tenderness only reserved for those he loves, as Vanya wraps gauze around his forearm with care.
He’s been fine all this time, he thinks, even as Luther says, “Good to have you back, Five.”
It’s good to be back, he thinks, turning his head so that it’s buried against Diego’s shoulder when he lets out another sob.
