Child's Writing Exercises and Doodles, from Egypt, c. 1000-1200 CE: this was made by a child who was practicing Hebrew, creating doodles and scribbles on the page as they worked

This writing fragment is nearly 1,000 years old, and it was made by a child who lived in Egypt during the Middle Ages. Several letters of the Hebrew alphabet are written on the page, probably as part of a writing exercise, but the child apparently got a little bored/distracted, as they also left a drawing of a camel (or possibly a person), a doodle that resembles a menorah, and an assortment of other scribbles on the page.

This is the work of a Jewish child from Fustat (Old Cairo), and it was preserved in the collection known as the Cairo Genizah Manuscripts. As the University of Cambridge Library explains:

For a thousand years, the Jewish community of Fustat placed their worn-out books and other writings in a storeroom (genizah) of the Ben Ezra Synagogue ... According to rabbinic law, once a holy book can no longer be used (because it is too old, or because its text is no longer relevant) it cannot be destroyed or casually discarded: texts containing the name of God should be buried or, if burial is not possible, placed in a genizah.

At least from the early 11th century, the Jews of Fustat ... reverently placed their old texts in the Genizah. Remarkably, however, they placed not only the expected religious works, such as Bibles, prayer books and compendia of Jewish law, but also what we would regard as secular works and everyday documents: shopping lists, marriage contracts, divorce deeds, pages from Arabic fables, works of Sufi and Shi'ite philosophy, medical books, magical amulets, business letters and accounts, and hundreds of letters: examples of practically every kind of written text produced by the Jewish communities of the Near East can now be found in the Genizah Collection, and it presents an unparalleled insight into the medieval Jewish world.

Favorite Country/City: He would love to go visit Stratford-Upon-Avon in England, as he is one to enjoy being in the city of one of the most famous playwrights and authors in history: William Shakespeare. Also, there is tea available at most shops, so he will still be able to follow the Queen of Hearts’ rules.

Favorite Cuisine/Dish: Again, his favorite dish is strawberry tarts, and they apparently originate in France as tarts were used to showcase the seasonal not-berries. That aside, he also does appreciate French cuisine as a whole.

Favorite Drink: Again, he enjoys tea, but I think he would like strawberry lemonade. More specifically, the strawberry lemonade from those restaurants that put those slices of strawberries into the drink.

Favorite Country/City: I originally was going to say that he would have liked Luxembourg because it’s one of the richest countries in the world, but I decided that would be too easy. I feel like he would love to go to Cairo in Egypt. It’s very rich in history and culture, and I’ve heard they have good food (someone confirm, plz).

Favorite Cuisine/Dish: His favorite food is donuts, and I looked it up and they apparently originate from either Ancient Greece/Rome or Medieval Arab chefs. That being said, either cuisines (Greek, Italian, or Middle Eastern) would be his favorite. He has a very diverse palate.

Favorite Drink: Depending on if he prefers coffee or tea, he would like either Mazboot or even Zjada coffee, or karkade (please correct me on any of this, I am not from the Middle East and have never been so if it’s incorrect you can tell me. Got this info from online).

Favorite Souvenir: A small, handmade pot that he found at one of the markets. He thought it looked interesting and thus purchased it. The vendor was really kind as well.

Favorite Singers/Songs: This is kind of hard, but AMERICAN HORROR SHOW by SNOW WIFE would be his favorite, meaning hyperpop would be his favorite genre. He gives me TikTok boy vibes for some reason, and he would also like most songs that popped up on his FYP.

Favorite Movie: Lion King, and I’m not trying to be funny. He just likes the “It’s not funny, Ed”, where Ed erupts even more into laughter. It makes him snicker a bit as well. Maybe I was trying to be funny.

Favorite Country/City: He would love the township of Cavendish in Prince Edward Island, Canada. It’s got the ocean, it’s got the small town vibes, and it inspired L.M. Montgomery’s fictional town of Avonlea in Anne of Green Gables. Speaking of, he would totally resonate with Anne because they both entered a society that they weren’t knowledgeable of the norms of. 

Favorite Cuisine/Dish: Because he loves fried chicken, I would say his favorite cuisine is that of the Southern United States. You can’t go wrong with coleslaw, cornbread, green beans, mashed potatoes, and Southern hospitality.

Favorite Drink: Iced Tea, specifically from the Southern states as well. If we’re talking about cocktails, then Long Island Iced Tea would be his go-to. However, he prefers to drink at home because he doesn’t have to call anyone to pick him up.

Favorite Souvenir: It’s stated that he likes collecting coins, so yeah.

Favorite Singers/Songs: This man loves Elvis Presley’s music, and no one can fight me on this. He’s a bit of a hopeless romantic, so he loves either Heartbreak Hotel or Can’t Help Falling in Love is his favorite song.

Favorite Movie: Romeo and Juliet, the one starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The movie’s great, the actor not so much. He’s a bit of a hopeless romantic, as I stated before, so he would very much like a Romeo to his Juliet. Mans wants to be in a tower with a window sill and he wants someone to be standing below to talk to in a romantic way.

Favorite Country/City: He loved going scuba diving in the Mariana Trench, and since the Trench is located between Hawaii and the Philippines, I think he would love staying in the Philippines. The city he favors would be Boracay, even though it’s in the middle of the Philippine Islands and a bit further from the East.

Favorite Cuisine/Dish: His favorite dish is octopus carpaccio, and it’s kind of obvious that it’s Italian. He does enjoy Italian cuisine as a whole as well. However, if we are taking the octopus components of the dish, then I believe he would also be a lover of Japanese cuisine.

Favorite Drink: It is recommended that with octopus carpaccio, you should have a Pinot noir, and he agrees. However, if he’s just going to a bar, he would order a limoncello spritz. It’s typically a post-dinner drink, and he likes the lemon flavor along with the kind-of-like-soda, kind-of-like-wine game that the drink offers him.

Favorite Souvenir: He loves smaller, easily portable trinkets, so as basic as it is he loves collecting keychains and magnets. His favorite keychain is a shell that had a hole in it, and a small child actually handed it to him out of nowhere. He got a ring and attached it to his backpack.

Favorite Singers/Songs: His favorite song is 24 / 7 / 365, by Surfaces. It’s laidback, it’s chill, and he likes it. Songs that remind him of the beach are ones that he likes. He plays it when he’s attending to his terrariums. 

Favorite Movie: Jaws, and none of the sequels. All the sequels suck. He has watched the first Jaws so many times that he sings along with Quint when he starts singing “Farewell and Adieu You Fair Spanish Ladies”. 

Floyd Leech

Favorite Country/City: He wants to go places where he can do things whenever it strikes him. He would also want to go somewhere with clear water. Thus, I believe he would love to go to Tahiti. There’s a market, he can go scuba diving with whales and sharks, he can go surfing, he can go to the museum, and if he wants to stay in his hotel room then he can.

Favorite Cuisine/Dish: His favorite dish is Takoyaki, so I think it’s safe to assume that he likes Japanese cuisine. However, it is stated that shiitake mushrooms come from mountainous regions in China, Japan, Indonesia, and Taiwan, so he likes any dishes without the mentioned mushrooms.

Favorite Drink: As funny as it is, Sex on the Beach, as it’s a summer drink that he loves to enjoy on the beach. Also, he has the emotional maturity of a 7th grade boy, and the name was hilarious to him. 

Favorite Souvenir: Two little figurines of a guy and a girl dancing with each other. They fit together in a way that was complex, making it a puzzle of sorts.

Favorite Singers/Songs: Either Laffy Taffy or Sneaky Link 2.0 are his favorite songs. This man is searching for his Mrs. Bubblegum. He is looking to be somebody’s sneaky link. He lives for drama, and no one can tell me otherwise.

Favorite Movie: The Meg, because who doesn’t love a giant, prehistoric shark that escapes from the gaseous layer at the bottom of the Mariana Trench? He has sharp teeth like the megalodon, and he likes the jumpscare where the shark jumps up.

Kalim Al-Asim

Favorite Country/City: He loves tropical areas, but he loved the Bahamas and the capital of Nassau the most. The resort there was great, and the people were very friendly. It was a laid back time, and it was not even a five minute walk to the beach. Plus, coconuts grow there apparently (correct me if I’m wrong), and coconut juice is his favorite food.

Favorite Cuisine/Dish: A lot of Thai food, specifically the desserts, use the flesh of the coconut, so I think I have substantial evidence to say that he does like Thai food. He would be very hesitant to try Thai curry, though… unless he had somebody to try it with him.

Favorite Drink: Piña Colada, doesn’t matter if it’s virgin or not. He loves the song that accompanies it as well. Anyways, the drink is a very fruit-filled drink. He thinks it’s the right amount of sweetness, so he loves to enjoy it.

Favorite Souvenir: A singular photograph, as he somehow found himself involved in a volunteer program and he took a picture with children from one of the villages he was volunteering at.

Favorite Singers/Songs: He also likes songs that remind him of the beach, and I stated that he probably likes the song Escape (The Piña Colada Song), but it’s not his favorite. His favorite song would be Celebration, by Maffio, Farruko, and Akon (feat. Ky-Mani Marley).

Favorite Movie: I have a feeling that he would love the movie Shrek. It’s funny, a lot of memes have been made from all the movies, all the sequels are great. What’s not to love about the movie(s)?

Favorite Country/City: He gives me a vibe that I resonate with on the historical front, so I would think he would like to visit somewhere in the Middle East, as that is where ancient Mesopotamia was. Specifically, he would love to visit Ur, in Iraq. Not only is it located in a desert (familiar territory), but it’s one of (if not the) first cities in the world.

Favorite Cuisine/Dish: Unlike Kalim, he loves curry, so that gives me reason to believe that he would enjoy Indian cuisine the most. Syrian food comes in second for him (I spend a lot of time at my friend’s Syrian house and they make good food… I’m hungry now).

Favorite Drink: This was difficult, but I feel like he would move towards margaritas, and not just because of the song. Because curry can be spicy, I would say he likes a spicy margarita as well. His favorite non-alcoholic drink would be a mangonada.

Favorite Souvenir: All the books he picked up to learn different languages. He learned along the way as well, and all of the books have annotations within them so he has them for future reference.

Favorite Singers/Songs: He likes breakdancing, so he likes any song he can breakdance to. I am not very involved within this genre of music, so after doing some research I have come to the conclusion that he would love the song The Witch, by the Bamboos.

Favorite Movie: Footloose, as it’s a movie about dancing and rock music being banned. He saw it because it looked interesting, and he learned the Footloose dance. Also, the song Holdin’ Out For a Hero makes him feel like he wants to be someone’s hero.

Silver

Favorite Country/City: Carrickfergus, as it holds the Carrickfergus Castle. It may be a Norman castle, but it’s because of the history (and the fact that he may be based off of both the Princess and the Prince and thus deserves a castle {personal opinion}) that he enjoys his time in the town.

Favorite Cuisine/Dish: This is the first time I’ve actually dove into investigating Silver’s likes and dislikes, and apparently he likes mushroom risotto, which is thought to originate from the Italian region of Lombardy.

Favorite Drink: He strikes me as the type to like wine, and not the bitter stuff. He likes sweeter wines, especially white wines as they pair nicely with the risotto he loves.

Favorite Souvenir: A journal, in which he writes about his many journeys around the world. 

Favorite Singers/Songs: I think he is a Swiftie. That being said, his favorite song would be Love Story, as he is looking for his Juliet. However, he is not one of those over-excited fans who will tear someone up for saying they don’t like Taylor Swift’s songs. He will just judge them quietly.

Favorite Movie: Gladiator, partially for the plot, partially for Russel Crowe. It reminds him of the training he had to go through as a knight.

Nun Appleton House

Hi guys!!

I'm sharing Nun Appleton House. This is the 13th building for my English Collection.

I added aa garden, which is my own creation and not the original of the house.

History of the house: The hall itself is built of reddish-orange brick with ashlar dressings and a Welsh slate roof in three storeys to a rectangular floor plan. It is grade II listed and now stands in some 200 ha. of parkland.

The estate was acquired by The 1st Lord Fairfax of Cameron, a Yorkshireman with a Scottish peerage, following the Dissolution of the Monasteries, from whom it descended to The 3rd Lord Fairfax of Cameron, the well-known English Civil War commander, who built the present hall in the late 1600s.

In his time (1651) the estate was the inspiration for Andrew Marvell's Upon Appleton House, a significant country house poem. Marvell was tutor to Thomas Fairfax's daughter, Mary. After the death of Mary (who had married The 2nd Duke of Buckingham) in 1704 the estate was eventually sold in 1711 to Alderman William Milner of Leeds who carried out many alterations to the house.

His son William was created the 1st Milner Baronet, of Nun Appleton Hall in the County of York, in 1717 and was later Member of Parliament for York. The estate then descended in the Milner family until 1875, when the estate's owner, Sir William Mordaunt Milner, 6th Baronet, was more interested in gambling than looking after it.

By 1877 it had been leased to William Beckett-Denison, a wealthy Leeds banker. After the death of Sir William Milner in Cairo in 1881, his brother Frederick inherited the estate and in 1882 married Adeline, eldest daughter of William Beckett-Denison. After William Beckett's gruesome death in 1890, the Hall and estate were sold to Angus Holden, a sometime M.P. (later created Baron Holden), a woollen manufacturer from Bradford, whose ownership was somewhat brief as he died in 1912.

The hall was now empty and many of the tenanted farms were sold. The estate was put up for auction in 1914 and again in 1917 and eventually acquired by a private company which felled many of the trees but by 1919 had gone into liquidation. It was bought in 1920 by Sir Benjamin Dawson, 1st Baronet, another Bradford textile manufacturer, who was High Sheriff of Yorkshire for 1951–52. During the Second World War the hall was taken over by the London Maternity Hospital.

 When the stable block accidentally burnt down it was afterwards refurbished as a theatre and made available to the local community.

The property was bought from the last occupant, Sir Benjamin's daughter Joan Dawson, for £1.2 million in the 1980s by Humphrey Smith of the Samuel Smith brewing family. The house is now fenced off, empty, unused and deteriorating.

The wooden boxes and hair had completely decomposed, but 1,251 gold rings in two sizes that had decorated one of the wigs were preserved. They have been placed on a modern wig in an arrangement suggested by a wooden head that the Metropolitan Museum excavated at Lisht, another Middle Kingdom royal cemetery. A gold crown and a pectoral with the name of Amenemhat III, both in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo, were packed in the same box with the ornamented wig."

Leaked plan to push Palestinians into the sea.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed one of his closest aides to explore ways to “thin out” Gaza’s population, the Israel Hayom newspaper reported.

According to the newspaper, Netanyahu instructed Ron Dermer, his minister of strategic planning and a close aide, to have a plan for the “day after” in Gaza and, if necessary, one that “enables a mass escape [of Palestinians] to European and African countries” by opening sea routes out of the strip.

The secret plan, seen by Israel Hayom, is being tightly circulated “due to its obvious explosiveness”, said the report, adding that “Netanyahu sees this as a strategic goal”.

The plan aims to bypass expected US and Egyptian opposition. Unless Egypt starts shooting Palestinians crossing into the country, Cairo’s “determined resistance” can be overcome, it added.

Friday’s commute along parts of Highway 2 may be a bit slow in Hall County, as a train has derailed near Cairo, Nebraska.

According to Hall County Emergency Manager John Rosenlund, 57 coal cars derailed and coal spilled everywhere. BNSF is on the site cleaning up the train, which does not pose a hazard to the public. The train is currently blocking all crossings from High Street (Highway 11) to 110th Road.

People are urged to stay away from the area as crews work to replace the cars and get the train back on track.

All Les wanted was to BREAK those medieval AF rules and live lavishly in the Savage Garden: in a beautiful home listening to beautiful music admiring beautiful art wearing beautiful clothes guzzling delicious blood with the people he loves most (Nicki in Paris, Gabrielle in Cairo, and Lou in NOLA--in the Prince Lestat trilogy Les gets his wish when Gab & Lou finally move into the Lioncourt Chateau in Auvergne).

Lestat just wanted a comfortable HOME & a loving FAMILY,which he'd NEVER had as a human, growing up dirt poor in that crumbling ruin of a chateau with his abusive father & brothers & negligent mom.

Lestat's idea of a "family" differed starkly from Lou's idea of one. To Les, Family = Marriage; finding a Blood Spouse to "be my companion [in the Dark Gift, finally], [in the church, on the altar];" "we should make this our anniversary."

But for Louis, the night of their "anniversary" (the 1x3 race riots) was also the same night he finally had a child: Claudia. To Lou, Family = Traditional Nuclear Family Values (parents & children).

Loustat got Vegas Married without ever responsibly negotiating the terms of their relationship together: what Les wanted, vs what Lou wanted. Making Claudia was something Les NEVER accounted for, but he went along with it SOLELY to keep Louis with him & make Louis happy. There IS that kernel of truth in the coven's scripted lies (although I highly doubt what we saw in the "flashback" is (f)actually how her Turning went down--the truth's somewhere between the extreme poles of 1x4 and 2x7).

I've already said over & over that I DO NOT believe Les argued against Turning Claudia cuz "the Great Laws forbid it." IMO, this is a false memory; the coven gaslighting, which neither Lou nor Claudia can ever corroborate/fact check, since Lou's brain is literal swiss cheese, and Claudia was dying & darn near unconscious the whole time.

The ONLY one who'd have a clear memory of that night is Lestat, but we only get his POV thru the Trial's rigged script--the only time Les goes fully OFF SCRIPT is the Ep5 revisit. But IF it's true that Les DID mention the Great Laws to Lou, I know for a fact he never bothered fully explaining wtf they were, who makes/follows them, & what happens if you break them. We know Lou doesn't ask follow-up questions, so he'd never UNDERSTAND the GLs, just like lou didn't understand who TWMBK were when Les namedropped them in 1x7 and Akasha in 2x8.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER. And there are times Les either:

deliberately withholds intel to PROTECT his coven/family

the gag order Marius put on Les about TWMBK & Akasha; the ONE rule he ever actually kept (until QotD)--which the 1x7/2x8 scenes bafflingly contradict, even while confirming what a frikkin BRAT Les is that he can't even follow ONE effing rule)

deliberately withholds/drip-feeds info to CONTROL his coven/family

not warning Lou about sunlight hurting vampires in 1x2, cuz he knew Lou'd HAVE to come crawling back to him

not telling Lou about the Mind Gift in 1x2 "And you gon' sit on that skill for how long?! You gon' make me beg!?"

not explaining the Great Laws in 1x4/2x7

not teaching Claudia anything about the Little Drink; more gently helping her process Charlie's death in 1x4; instead chokeholding her & forcing her to watch as he hypocritically tells her not to be around humans even while he's busy shagging Antoinette LOL

not running to Louis & Claudia FIRST when he got to Paris, to warn them that Santiago had woken him up in NOLA, planning a Trial (IF we believe Santiago that this really happened; and that Les didn't go to Paris all on his own looking for Armand, like in the book)

FrankFreezy on Youtube pointed out that Lestat uses/withholds knowledge as a way of control:

"Interesting to see how quick Louis is to tell her about all her powers and benefits, because to him he's not holding that information over her head as a means of control as Lestat did him. And to him when he's teaching her you can tell there's not that airiness there it's very honest and plain," (4:41 - 5:10).

"In episode one after he changed him the next morning like he could have easily told Louis that if you step out the sun is going to burn you. But he intentionally let Louis go out because he knows Louie is going to suffer and run back to him. You know, as his like Saving Grace or his protector -- she kind of alluded to it: he don't give straight answers.... But see the way Louis is like talking to her like very gently very calmly; he's not holding anything over her head; not trying to like seduce her in any way.... Likewise, Foxtaco on Youtube said something SO poignant about Loustat's dynamic in 1x5 (wrt to Les only ever reading the first 10 pages of books to pass himself off as cultured & seduce bibliophiles like Louis under false pretenses): that "Louis is able to finish some sh*t, but Lestat just passes sh*t on (14:08 - 14:14)."

Lestat is an irresponsibly pisspoor Maker who never finishes what he starts, and leaves everything for Louis to figure out on his own--just like we see in 1x2 when Les didn't warn Lou about sunlight hurting vampires; and just like we see in 2x3 about Les never warning Lou about the Great Laws.

Les never explains things or educates his fledglings properly, then gets mad at them when his TWO bibliophile Black fledglings do what Black people have always done when white people gatekeep information/knowledge/education from them: finding their own communities to learn on their own; only for white ppl to burn them down (X X X) or delegitimatize them (Les mocking Claudia in 1x5 for reading European "folklore anthologies;" mocking Lou in 1x2 for reading books off LES' bookshelf that hipped Lou to eating animals).

The tension between race & education is hilarious, cuz Lou & Claudia get bit in the arse even when they DO follow prescribed (white) codes of conduct: the Whites-Only colleges Claudia went to that wouldn't even let her read in the library, about the first vamps coming from Europe (which is incorrect cuz AR's vamps actually come from Egypt, LOL); and the books Les bought FOR Louis by a bunch of dead white men, some even younger than Lestat himself LOL.

Les exhibits irrational anger at Lou & Claud when they exert agency to learn for themselves (even when he insists that he's the head of their household and Lou's just his "fledgling"). But their education is always gonna be flawed, cuz there's crucial things only LES knows.

He KNOWS Claudia wants to know where vamps come from, and he knows the answer--Marius' gag order is understandable; but it's inexcusable that Les didn't tell her about the Theatre/coven, and to stay away from Paris SPECIFICALLY). He told her that "the vampires out there are vicious" only AFTER she'd already run away & been SA'd by Bruce! She didn't KNOW BEFOREHAND what was out there.

Les relies on his fledglings always having to learn the HARD way, struggling & suffering with no one to guide them, just cuz that's how HE was raised & how he was made--his "father's temper" back as a human, and his "maker's temper" as a vamp.

Les always wanted a comfortable & loving him, but perpetuates the exact same cycles of abuse he experienced & never processed. He ridicules Lou for his "timid child-rearing & compromise;" then SPITEFULLY uses corporal punishment to teach his stubborn fledglings a lesson when they refuse to trust/listen to his BAD advice.

So when Les is sitting all high and mighty on that fancy AF chair/throne during the Trial, given a place of privilege & immunity/impunity as he's allowed/encouraged to give the WORST answers to LEADING questions deliberately designed to CONDEMN Claudia & Louis to death for breaking rules HE never explained to them as THEIR MAKER/FATHER, you bet your arse Imma side-eye TF outta every word coming out of Les' mouth.

Past Experience: Her father gave her a cat for her 13th birthday. A black kitten that would give her “good luck”. She named her new friend “Duran”. In Egypt she was lured by an old lady who claimed to be able to read her fortune, this where Beryl Cups and Feldspar Pentacles got their names. Katherine has a soft spot for elderly people so she trusted her without much questioning. This would be a very terrible mistake. She was brainwashed by Dio, it wasn’t too difficult due to her naive and nihilistic mindset.. Being highly receptive to being brainwashed, she becomes incredibly loyal. Being a loyal servant of DIO has made her extremely apathetic towards anyone that isn’t herself, the small few she’s allowed in her circle, or DIO himself.

Extreme apathy -

She doesn’t seem to care that her parents are worried that she’s missing. She doesn’t seem to care about what the women she lures to Dio for his food/pleasure. She knows Dio doesn’t have good intentions for her and she doesn’t care. She just enjoys herself smoking hookah, napping, terrorizing others, and sleeping around. She doesn’t care what the other agents of Dio do for fun or what they do to their victims and she sometimes joins in the torment and likes to watch. She’s known amongst them to be incredibly apathetic. She’ll let Dios victims think they’re almost free as they run away. Soon as they reach the door her stand trips them or drags them back as she laughs cruelly and muttering that this “never gets old”

Once shes free from DIOs influence her true nature shows which is a 180 from what the SDC encountered. They are very skeptical of her at first. Katherine is a shy, mild mannered, empathetic individual. They feel haunted by what they do remember doing which usually comes out in dreams. She has no memory of the inhabitants of DIOS mansions or its exact location in Cairo.

Likes to collect lamps and other mood lighting effects. Also has a big collection of plushes on her vanity and bed that she likes to cuddle with and use as decoration 

Loves to play video games. Likes puzzle games and platformers. Kirby is her all time favorite, she will fight you to the death if you talk bad about her favorite pink puffball. Likes playing with D’Arby younger if he isn’t cheating, and kakyoin. 

She loves sleeping even though she doesn’t really need to. She’ll nap with Duran during the day hours. Don’t bother the 2 while napping, Duran is very protective of her and will threaten whoever is trying to wake her. The only exception to that is Dio(if he somehow decides to summon her himself, hasn’t happened as of yet), Enya, Vanilla, or Petshop(Katherine has a soft spot and respect for animals especially animal stand users). If she lets you nap with her then it means she trusts you greatly and has some affection for you. 

She also enjoys running errands/looking for new victims for Dio. He gives her a generous allowance when she’s out in the shops of Cairo getting whatever he wants/needs. 

Loves to draw and paint in her spare time besides video games. The low humidity makes it easy for her to do her projects.

Habits: 

 Katherines favorite place is the sun room. She’s usually lounging with Duran and maybe another loyal follower of Dio smoking hookah. She easily stays cool by submerging herself into the shadows, the “shadows pools” are very chilly about 32F. 

Speaks very softly, will put a hand on your shoulder when she wants to say something. Don’t bother telling her to speak up unless you want to a death stare that will chill you to your bones. This habit dies off once she’s more comfortable around others- except Enya or Dio out of respect. 

Her private quarters are completely upside down. Duran did this as a permanent way to keep Katherineand himself safe and isolated from others while she’s in her most private area. To come into her room means at least a 7 ft drop so anyone who comes in uninvited is going to have a nasty fall. She’s able to leave freely via her stand or Duran altering gravity. It’s very common for her to use her stand in her daily tasks besides doing Dios dirty work. 

Doesn’t really call anyone by their name when talking directly to them. She’s pretty bad at remembering names. Accidentally referred to Steely Dan as Jim once. Only explanation was that he looked like a Jim. 

Will call D’arby younger “”Terry” sometimes .He’s probably going to take what she says out of context as flirting with him. When he returns the affection it backfires on her making her all shy and flustered herself - which causes her to go hide inside the nearest shadow.

"What could be better than stargazing?" Lottie plunked down on the dirt and gazed up at the stars as whatever drug Misty spiked the food with began to kick in.

“If only I could show people how it works… if they could feel it with their hands, feel how it moves, how it speaks…”

Lottie sighed, then turned her head to face Shauna who opened her arms to the sky.

“I want.” Shauna sighed. “I want to know what’s out there. There is so much— so much—“

Shaunas voice faltered as she struggled to articulate the enormity of her thoughts. Her eyes remained fixed on the sky, lost in the vast expanse above. “It’s just so beautiful…”

Lottie, still lying on the ground next to her and feeling the effects of the drug, eventually found her thoughts drifting elsewhere. “Wow… it’s like the stars are alive.” She mumbled, “Maybe they’re misunderstood. Or they’re trying to tell us something and we just can’t understand them anymore…”

Shauna nodded, but her focus seemed to waver, her gaze shifting from the sky to the surrounding forest. A hunger, more primal began to stir within her. She started digging her nails into the dirt, making deep furrows in the soil as if trying to anchor herself to reality.

But the general idea for this 'incident' in this AU is simply, Jotaro didnt just kill Dio, Jotaro ate Dio

it stems from a P2 rewrite that ultimately ended up with everyone living for better or worse. Along with Joseph and Suzi having a relationship with Wham. Holly is born under both the Joestar Curse as well as Half Pillar man. Theres a lot to dive into with that, but thats just the bases for the bigger topic of 'Eated Him' which is a silly Nickname to a horrific Jotaro event in my AU lol

Jotaro coming from his half Pillar man Mom, is also part Pillar man. And everything we know of Jotaro and the way he behaves and the fear he had over his own stand he thought to be an evil spirit, all lumped on top of being part 'monster'

Jotaro is afraid of himself because he thinks he is a monster because he came from monsters. From comments from his granny Lisa on how cruel and mounterious his grandfather Kars is. To the way his mother doesn't open up about her own feelings of how she and her family is seen in the eyes of human society (which to her is meant to put on a smile and say nothing wrong in hopes that it can keep everyone happy and not burden anyone with her own sadness)

So when it comes to the Dio fight in Egypt and as far as Jotaro knows everyone he cares about is dead or dying and he's back into a corner. Its just

fight or flight, and Jotaro doesn't even know whats happening, and how its so instinctual to him. Something so ancient in him that tells him to destroy Dio absolute.
