okay alright so
theres this post ive seen around a bit, & i cant find it, but id like to add my own two cents
i believe the gist of the post was basically "i used to know a gay drag queen & a lesbian who had sex, but they didnt identify as bisexual, & thats fine"
there were a lot of replies calling it bisexual erasure & whatnot
everyone has some points, but i think i lean more towards the original posts views
firstly, i think some people may be forgetting that sex doesnt necessarily mean sexual attraction. im asexual, i have sex, & theres nothing contradictory about that. just coz the attraction isnt there, doesnt mean pleasure cant be
secondly, i generally consider labels as simply for communication. for example, if you tell people youre a lesbian, despite feeling attraction to a comparatively small amount of men, so what? its quicker & easier, and no ones entitled to know about your exceptions. if your intent is to signal that youre a women looking for women, there you go!
im sure these points have come up, but id like to share anyway. i dont believe contradictory labels, whether or not they really are, hurt anyone

me listening to heavy dark music as i write a peaceful, clear morning walk with my joyful characters.
on the other hand, me listening to happy catchy pop songs as i write a devastating, heart wrecking scene.

"If God is love, and if God is also omnipresent, then the Devil cannot exist.
If the Devil exists, God cannot be love and also be omnipresent. Yet, an omnipresent god of love and the Devil are both said to exist.
It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure out that there is something wrong here!"
The best way to convince people your god is fake is for you to describe him.

Appearance and Reality by F.H. Bradley
Tumblr media
Appearance and Reality Appearance and Reality, 1897, by F.H. Bradley is an interesting work that is often appraised in non-dual discussions even though F.H. Bradley was British and probably never had heard of non-duality or any eastern traditions dealing with these problems. F.H. Bradley was known to be reclusive and had a reputation for shooting cats. But at some point in his life, he must have come to some sort of spiritual realization. His main analysis is similar to Shankara´s: The world of our ordinary experience turns out upon inspection to be contradictory, so it can't be fully and finally real; what is fully and finally real is a non-dual Absolute in which all those apparent contradictions are resolved through that very non-duality. Consider me as some dead philosophy or an ancient tombstone if I don't contradict myself very often, if at a blink of an eye you don't see both my angel and my demons, my heaven and my hell, my light and my dark, my charm and my ugliness. Like how time itself alternates itself between day and night, I like a pendulum shift my energies from one polarity to the other. That's how I balance the act of thrive, if I don't, I would have long been a dead thing!
