Servitors as Links
If you have a desire to work with a commonly known spirit, deity, or entity, you can create a personal entity to act as a link with it by developing a name, image, and symbol based on the characteristics of the inspirational subject. You can even decide upon a specific realm of influence based on the general realm of influence of the original spirit or deity. By doing this, you are personalizing a link with the original subject through the creation of a personal entity. From that point on, you can call upon the spirit or deity through the name and symbol that you have designated to elicit a direct response from the desired entity. It is important to remember that you are working with an entity that serves as a link to the spirit or deity and not the spirit or deity itself. After continuous workings, you can, if you so desire, have the entity you created evolve away from the original spirit or deity to become its own independent entity. Then when you work with your entity, you will be working with your entity alone, though it will have gained knowledge and experience through the old link with the spirit or deity.
The same idea can be used to make an entity based on the aspects of a living or dead person. By taking the person's name and personal attributes, a very powerful and viable entity can be formed. This new entity will be linked to both the person and to you, in a similar fashion to an entity providing a link to a deity or spirit. This type of entity, when linked to a living person, can have great and powerful affects upon them. With such a link, an entity can be very useful for works of healing and protection directed at the person to whom it is linked. Of course, you can also use this sort of entity to inflict many dire things upon a person, should you so desire.

If you ever want to read terrible opinions from the worst fucking people, I recommend getting into occultism. I read Creating Magickal Entities by David Michael Cunningham with contributions by Taylor Ellwood and T Amanda R Wagener and I want to strangle all three of them.
One of my notes in the margins is just "I'm going to steal something from your house." and I feel like that summarizes my thoughts on this book. It made me retroactively go back and give better scores to the other books on chaos magic I've read recently.
It has everything. Weird occult racism. Unsafe usage of essential oils. Thinly-veiled menstruation kink. Appropriation of Judaism in the context of """Qabalah""". Giving a rule and then promptly breaking it because they can't be bothered to rewrite their explanations. Shitty editing.
Above all, it just took so long to get to the point in each section. I genuinely believe that this could have been better if you trimmed the fat (most of this bullshit) and made it a blog post instead.

Using Demonic Sigils
Tumblr media
Demonic sigils are specific types of symbols or seals that are used in various magickal traditions to represent, summon, or communicate with demonic entities. These symbols are believed to hold the essence or the power of thr demon they represent, acting as a focal point for rituals involving these entities. The use of demonic sigils dates back to ancient times and has been incorporated into numerous magickal practices and grimoires throughout history.
Historical Origins
The practice of using symbols or seals to represent demons is ancient, with roots in cultures around the world. However, the formal use of demonic sigils is most notably documented in medieval and Renaissance grimoires. These texts, such as 'The Lesser Key Of Solomon' (also known as Ars Goetia or Lemegeton), provide a catalog of demons, each accompanied by a unique sigil.
A sigil can have immense power because it's a gateway to a certain energy. It's like having a direct line to a powerful person, except that the person is a spiritual force, not constrained by the time/space continuum. The ancients knew all too well that our world is not only physical, that there are entities among us that we can't perceive with our ordinary senses, yet they can be communicated with through symbols which activate our higher intuitive faculties and open a door for their arrival.
Tumblr media
Purpose And Use
Demonic sigils serve several purposes in magickal practices, including:
• Summoning- Sigils are used in rituals to summon demons, providing a method for the practitioner to focus their intention and call forth the entity.
• Communication- Sigils facilitate communication with demonic entities, acting as a bridge between the practitioner and the spirit realm.
• Command- In some traditions, possessing a demon's sigil gives the practitioner a degree of control, over the entity, compelling it to perform or grant requests of the summoner. Most entities will resist this type of magick and some may turn hostile. Use sigils with respect and consideration.
A sigil of a summoned demon can be utilized in various ways after the ritual. For example, by carrying it with you, placing it in a prominent place in your home, an altar dedicated to the demon, or in some cases of baneful magick, placing it near the target, burying it, burning it, etc.
Tumblr media
Creation And Activation
Demonic sigils found in grimoires are traditionally received through mystical revelation or compiled from older texts. Modern practitioners may use these historical sigils or create new ones through various methods of sigilization, such as the rearrangement of letters from the demon's name into a symbolic design.
Activating or charging a demonic sigil typically involves ritualistic practices. These can include specific invocations, the use of ceremonial magick tools, and the creation of a ritual space. The goal is to energize the sigil and open a channel of communication with the entity it represents.
There are also techniques that can be used to create a unique sigil that connects a person with a specific demon for the purpose of attunement. Such a sigil being charged and activated to serve a single connection rather than everyone who chances upon it, can be a more powerful conduit. It is comparable to a dedicated VS a shared network.
Tumblr media
Authoritative Texts With Demonic Sigils
Some grimoires contain extensive lists of demonic entities, their attributes, and corresponding sigils. Here are some notable texts that include information and drawings of demonic sigils:
• The Lesser Key Of Solomon (Ars Goetia, Lemegeton, Clavicula Solomonis)- Particularly the first section, known as the Ars Goetia, which details 72 demons along with their sigils and methods of summoning them.
• The Grimoire of Honorius- Attributed to Pope Honorius III, this grimoire includes sigils and instructions for summoning spirits, including demons, and is known for blending Christian and pagan elements.
• The Book Of Abramelin- Written by Abraham von Worms, this book describes an elaborate ritual known as the Abramelin Operation, designed to obtain the knowledge and conversation of one's guardian angel but also includes information on the summoning of demons as part of its broader magickal practice.
• The Pseudomonarchia Daemonum- An appendix of Johann Weyer's 'De Praestigiis Daemonum', this text lists 69 demons along with brief descriptions and is notable for its critical perspective on the practice of demonology.
• Grimorium Verum- (Latin for True Grimoire) is an 18th century grimoire attributed to one 'Alibeck the Egyptian' of Memphis, who purportedly wrote itnin 1517. Like many grimoires, it claims a tradition originating with King Solomon.
• The Munich Manuel of Demonic Magic (Codex Latinus Monacensis 849)- A 15th century grimoire, this manuscript focuses on necromancy and demonology, including sigils for summoning demons.
• The Grand Grimoire (The Red Dragon)- Known for its powerful rituals and the summoning of demonic forces, this book also contains sigils and instructions for making pacts with demonic entities.
• The Black Pullet (La poule noire)- While primarily known gor its talismans, this grimoire also includes methods for creating sigils and rings that are used to grant the user various powers, including influence over demons.
• The Sixth And Seventh Books Of Moses- These books are a collection of magickal texts that purport to describe the magick practiced by Moses, including the use of seals and sigils associated with both angels and demons.
The sigils found in these texts are often used in their original form even today. There have also been modifications and new sigils are constantly being created, especially by chaos magicians.

Honoring the Spirits of Home: Creating Sacred Spaces for the Unseen
Welcome back, Seekers! Within my local coven, we are journeying through the mysteries of Spirit until Winter Solstice. Today, I introduced the art of crafting Spirit Houses, and I thought it would be fitting to share a bit of that here. I like to keep these crafty posts simple and open-ended, leaving space for the practitioner to add their own touch. The best magick often arises from just diving in and letting your intuition guide the way. May this inspire you to connect, create, and explore! 🌙✨
As witches, we work with spirits every day, whether we realize it or not. Our homes, like ourselves, are steeped in the spirit world, alive with layers of unseen inhabitants that have their own roles, wisdom, and stories to tell. For many of us, it’s a quiet understanding that a witch’s home should be haunted—not in the fearful sense, but filled with life that pulses in harmony with our craft. From ancestral guides and house spirits, to the land’s ancient beings, these entities weave themselves into the very fabric of our spaces, enriching them with energy and presence.
Regardless of whether a home is newly built or weathered by decades, each dwelling becomes imbued with spirit. There’s an existing ecosystem of energies that connect to the land itself, the history of the area, and the layers of life that once lived or passed through. These spirits, sometimes subtle, sometimes profound, thrive within the space we call home, coexisting with us and enhancing our magick. But it is up to us to nurture a balanced and harmonious relationship with them.
Why Connect with the Spirits of Your Home?
Developing a deep, reciprocal relationship with the spirits of your home doesn’t just benefit your craft; it offers blessings for everyone under your roof. When these spirits feel acknowledged and respected, they offer protection, lend strength to your magickal workings, and create an atmosphere of peace and nourishment. A home can truly feel like a sanctuary when the spirits that dwell within it are in harmony with those who reside there in the flesh. This connection turns your space into an anchor—a place of personal power, healing, and resilience.
Building Friendships with Spirit
Nurturing relationships with spirits requires time, care, and a commitment to reciprocity. Just as with human friendships, there is a cycle of giving and receiving. Spirits respond to sincere attention and intention, as well as the gifts and gestures we offer them. One meaningful way to foster this connection is by creating a spirit house or a dedicated space where spirits can feel welcomed and honored.
A spirit house is both a physical symbol and a spiritual anchor. It becomes a place where offerings can be left, and it serves as a gateway for interaction with the spirit world in a respectful and clear manner. It’s a way of saying, “You are welcome here, I honor your presence, and I seek your guidance and protection.”
Creating Your Spirit House
Designing a spirit house is a creative, personal process. It need not be elaborate; sometimes, the simplest gestures carry the deepest respect. You may choose a small altar, a shelf, or even a discreet box placed in a peaceful corner of your home. Consider using natural materials—wood, clay, or stone—as they tend to resonate well with spirits of place. Personalize it with items like stones from your land, soil, dried herbs, or even water from a local stream. Each addition builds a bridge between your energy and the spirits you invite into your home.
When crafting your spirit house, remember that offerings and gifts can strengthen this relationship over time. Spirits, like friends, appreciate time, energy, love, and tokens of appreciation. Remember, spirits are aware of intention as much as they are of the physical offering, so approach this creative expression with reverence and sincerity.
For my spirit house, I’ve chosen to weave in unsea, or “old man’s beard,” gathered lovingly from my mother tree, a sacred link to the ancient and wise energies of the land. I've placed birds within the space, their forms standing as messengers and symbols of spirit, guiding and connecting with the unseen. Mushrooms, too, find their place here, embodying my bond with the natural world—grounded yet reaching into hidden realms. They carry the magick of spiritual growth, reminding me of the mystery and connection to realms beyond. Each piece breathes life into the space, deepening my relationship with the spirits I honor… and I placed a bell at the entrance, placed with the hope of hearing it softly chime as the spirits pass through.

6 Types of Protection Magick
Tumblr media
There are many ways one can do protective magick. In this post I'll be going into 6 of the most common and accessible ones!
Please understand that even one "protection magick type" can be done in an infinity of ways, some of which are closed to certain practices.
Disclaimer: based on my experience and research. I don't claim to know all truth. Further study is encouraged!
_________________♡♤◇♧_________________
#1 — Magic circle
Tumblr media
The magic circle consists of creating a protection and delimiting a sacred space for magic and/or ritual.
The magic circle is probably one of the most popular protection methods thanks to its encouraged use in Wicca. However, other traditions have made use of similar concepts, such as in the afro-brazillian Umbanda concept of "chain".
The circle can be physically drawn on the ground, delimited by the members inside the circle, or visualized.
Casting one is fairly simple since it can be done in different ways, either in groups or solitary practice. You can use tools such as wands, chalk or physical objects to draw it, but what matters most is intention and successful visualization.
Before casting a circle it's important to have everything you will need already within grasp and inside the circle, since once created it is advisable that no one leaves it until the work is complete.
#2 — Amulets, and Enchanted Items
Tumblr media
Enchanted Items are a very popular and effective form of magic, especially for personal use. These are often common objects that have been enchanted for protection.
They are often necklaces, rings and other jewelry since these are the most practical to carry around without suspicion. However, they can be any object.
Amulets can be created via enchanting, charms, or by asking deities and spirits to bless them with protective qualities.
The material and imagery used to create the talisman is also important in determining the kind of job it wants to do.
#3 — Sigils and other drawn Symbols
Tumblr media
Sigils and Symbols can be used both for personal protection and for warding spaces. Here I am also including Runes.
They can be carved into objects, drawn upon skin and surfaces, or even tattooed.
However, before using any sigil, symbol or rune it is of extreme importance that you know exactly what they do, and know as much about them as possible. Especially if you plan on drawing them on your skin (either temporarily or permanently).
Unless specifically used only for protection purposes, inadequate use of them can lead to disaster. Even then, the type of protection they bring can vary.
For example, a protection sigil that works by hiding you from threats is different from a sigil that fights threats that come to you. It's important to set or to know how their protection work so that you do not come across unwanted results.
#4 — Prayer
Tumblr media
My definition of praying: focusing on sending a message to a higher spiritual power, be it an entity, deity or energy.
Prayers are a great way of manifesting protection, though since you are asking for it to a higher power you must understand that it may choose to not grant it, or not grant it in the way you expect.
Plus, it is very important to know where you stand with this energy or entity. Do you work with them already? For how long? What is the nature of the relationship? Do you truly know them well enough to ask them for this? Is it really appropriate?
Cultivating a good relationship and having manners can be decisive factors for manifesting this sort of protection. Plus, it's always good to "give back" in some way. To receive something, something must be given eventually.
#5 — Affirmations and Visualizations
Tumblr media
Words and the mind have innate power. Affirmations and visualizations are great ways to manifest protections because they rely only on yourself.
They are easier to do right if you use them together with other methods, or if you have physical representations of the work being done. To be successful one must focus, "feel" them happening, and maintaining that without help can be difficult. Frequent practice will help you get the hang of it.
There are also techniques that make affirmations and visualizations both more powerful and easier to accomplish.
#6 — Warding
Tumblr media
Warding is when you set up a semi-permanent protection in a specific place, such as your house.
It can be done in many different ways. One of the most common is to have an object or place designated as the "holder" of the ward, which should be well kept.
Warding will be more powerful if you are frequently cleansing the space and recharging the ward. Leaving it alone for too long can weaken in or make it lose its properties altogether.
Some plants are used for this kind of protection, since they (usually) stay in place, can be powerful magical allies, and you'll be checking on them often anyway. The ones usued are often those with thorns, threatening-looking leaves, or even poison.
Note: always be very careful about bringing poisonous plants home, especially if you have children or pets.
Tumblr media
Conclusion
This was an overview of the most common types of protective magick. A lot of protection spells and works fall somewhere within these categories, or are a combination of them.
Each tradition has a certain way of going about spiritual protection, so if you are exploring an specific path, I encourage you to not only research about protection in general but to also look into what unique techniques your path has to offer!
Many blessings and thank you for reading! ♡

Bad Witchy Authors: Shawn Robbins & Leanna Greenaway
Ok, so I see a lot of posts discussing bad witchy authors and I have never seen these two mentioned, which, just... boggles the mind.
So I guess I'm sharing some of my notes!
Their books are super-popular, but Ima reference some of my 24 pages of notes on Wiccapedia (2011)
Tumblr media
This book is gorgeous, suuuper-accessible (almost any bookstore or library with any witchy books has this book), and it's the first book a lot of witch-curious folks pick up.
I don't have the brain-power to organise thoughts into topics, so I'm just gonna drop some of my 'favourite' quotes in the order they appear, for folks to make their own judgements...
Preface: Using Practical Magick . . . in Everyday Life
“Although there are modern Wiccans who still worship the traditional gods and goddesses, many witches... prefer a newer branch of witchcraft based on angel energy, known as Angelic Wicca”
“From the fourteenth to the eighteenth centuries, for complex reasons that scholars are still studying, waves of paranoia, hysteria, and suspicion set off witch hunts throughout the Western world, where those accused of witchcraft and trafficking with the devil were tried in both ecclesiastical and secular courts”
“Lesser mortals, and some religious faiths, blame an evil entity such as the devil for the negativity that mankind creates.... ”
“.. the foundation of our faith is much the same as it was hundreds of years ago”
Introduction: A Witch’s Tool Kit
The Pentacle:
“In pagan times the symbol was often worn as an amulet for spiritual protection and to ensure a safe, happy homecoming”
“..because most witches want to practice purely white magick and not associate themselves with anything negative”
“The sweep, or brush [of a besom], corresponds to the female genitalia, and the staff is associated with the male phallus— therefore it is a symbol of the male and the female combined”
Chapter 1: Witches Never Die, They Just Get Recycled
“We are all reincarnating at different rates. This is why some people are truly wonderful and some are, well, not”
“When you meet lovely, kind, and caring people, it is probable that they have reincarnated many times. Their endless incarnations have raised their spirits’ vibration, so they automatically show patience and strive to do everything right in their lives. People who are mean, selfish, and egotistic probably haven’t reincarnated as much. That isn’t to say that these people are wicked; they simply haven’t learned all their lessons yet. Think of them as bratty adolescents and the sympathetic ones as the grandparents of the reincarnation process—regardless of their age!”
Dealing with the Dark Side: [Paraphrased]: “Sometimes people are repeatedly evil and abusive, so they’re reincarnated as victims of these things to learn their lesson”
“You find many battered wives opening shelters for those who are going through violent relationships....”
“Guides, or “white lighters,” as they are often called today”
Chapter 2: Angels
“These beautiful beings have always had their place in the craft, but they used to play a secondary role to the more traditional Wiccan gods and goddesses... Today, you won’t find many British witches connecting with the gods and goddesses”
Chapter 4: Magickal Moon
“The moon was worshipped in many early religions as a goddess, and it has always been seen as a feminine symbol”
The Dark Moon:
“Sadly, many people who practice black magick do so at this time”
“You might think that someone working on the darker side of the occult could not influence any spells or rituals that you might be performing, but the collective power mustered by these individuals can cause cosmic havoc: our spells may become confused or simply not work at all. It is a shame, because the brilliance and power of this phase really is incredible, and without the negative manipulation I am sure we witches could do a great deal of good in it.”
Chapter 5: Spells and Candle Magick
Mostly this was a mix of ok info, and subjective info presented as objective fact, but that latter part is the theme of the book.
Chapter 6: Cell Phone Sorcery and Microwave Magick
“I can’t take all the credit for this new way of [cell phone] spell-making. My trusted friend and coauthor, Shawn, helped me”
“I’ll let you in on another little secret: we witches don’t really bother with our cauldrons much these days. We have evolved with the times and we use our microwaves and convection ovens... Any spell that entails mixing or brewing concoctions can easily be done in a microwave. It takes less time and the end results are actually enhanced, mainly because of the powerful electrical energies that the microwave transmits”
Chapter 8: Crystal
“You should wash your crystals once a week or so. Crystals can absorb energies around them, so just as we need to wash to stay clean, you need to wash your crystals. You can put them in the bath with you (to be cleansed of external energies and infused with yours) or simply soak them in a bowl of water” (Nb: A lot of crystals are damaged (or even super-unsafe) in water, which, obviously, is not mentioned at any point)
“If you are feeling on edge, go outside on a dry day with a cup of table salt to a place where you will not be disturbed. Scatter the salt in a large circle around you and place the rose quartz in the center” (Nb: DO NOT put salt on the ground outside!)
Chapter 9: A Witch's Menagerie
This is mostly a bunch of super-subjective collection of things that "witches (objectively/universally) do/believe" that I've mostly never heard of - obviously there are a lot of things I've never heard of, but in a decade, you'd think if every single witch believes/does something, I'd have stumbled across it at some point?
“Okay, so maybe you are not as animal-mad as I am, but a true witch will endeavor to have at least one critter as a companion in their lifetime”
"I may love all animals, and these insects may look very similar to bees, but I have to admit that hornets and wasps are annoying pests”
Chapter 10: Love Wisdom
“For modern witches, effigies have always been considered to be a little primitive, a little on the dark side”
“Every relationship that we enter into is spiritually planned (even the bad ones). It’s decided before we reincarnate who we are meant to share part, or all, of our lives with. This is because every time we venture into a relationship, we learn something from it. If it wasn’t our fate to be with our partners, we would never have been at that particular place at that particular time when we had our first meeting. We wouldn’t have been attracted to them, for starters, so something must have happened to ignite that spark. No matter how difficult some relationships are, it was fate that brought you together”
Chapter 11: Handfastings
So aside from a bunch of vague and mostly fictional/confused history, apparently every wedding/handfasting is different, but that doesn't stop them from laying out every specific 'universal' detail, including the attire, the catering, the gifts, etc, etc, etc...
“In pagan times, rice throwing was believed to transfer the spirit of the fertile grain to the bride and groom, ensuring that they would have a prosperous harvest and a fertile union”
Chapter 13: Gaze into the Future
Just... full of the G-slur, fetishisation and demonisation of Romani stereotypes, make-up history, and 'people in the past were unevolved and unintelligent and luckily we're now so much better in every way' (also a repeated theme)
[Psychic skills and divination aren't my area, so I skipped the rest of the chapters on those topics]
19 Dos and Don’ts about Witchcraft
“These words the Wiccan Rede fulfill: “An ye harm none, do what ye will.” —from “The Wiccan Rede,” anonymous” (ie 'We're Wicca experts but either don't know Doreen Valiente wrote this, or don't want to credit her')
“Most religions follow rules and guidelines, and although Wicca is considered to be a relaxed faith, we also have strict laws that we follow to the letter”
“Just because we can make magickal things appear out of thin air, it doesn’t mean that it’s always the right thing to do”
“There are people the world over who perform black magick because they have been treated badly or are seeking revenge for a wrong. Some are warped with jealousy and wish a bad fate on those more fortunate than themselves, and although it does sound bizarre that in the twenty-first century people are still putting curses on others, it’s really not that uncommon”
“On the other hand, people who use these skills to do harm are just self-interested souls who use magick as a way of gaining control and power over others, using it purely for their own gratification”
“The craft is all about sending out positive intentions”
“On the other hand, your spells could be failing because you are tired or sick. Your aura has to be in tip-top condition if your spell is to succeed” (Sorry, if you're chronically-ill you can't do magic)
The Ten Commandments of Witchcraft:
ALWAYS ENSURE THAT NO OTHER PERSON WILL BE HARMED AS A RESULT OF YOUR MAGICK. To call yourself a witch means that you will always endeavor to do the right thing and send out only love and kindness to others.
KEEP YOUR THOUGHTS FREE OF NEGATIVITY— REMEMBER THE REBOUND EFFECT. Keep in mind that every thought you send out can just as easily bounce off the receiver and be hurled back at you at the speed of light. You created the negative fog, so it belongs to you!
NEVER CAST A SPELL WHEN YOU ARE UPSET OR UNHEALTHY. Funny as it may seem, our thought projections can go haywire if we are cross, unhappy, or sick. Spells may fail to work, or the results may be confusing. Therefore it’s imperative that we be in the right frame of mind and physically healthy before we begin any magick
THINK POSITIVELY. If you smile, then you are more likely to be happy. Every time a miserable thought pops into your head, shake it away and try to think about something nice. Your aura is a magnetic energy field, and if it’s drab or gloomy, you will attract disruptive and depressing situations
CREATE A PEACEFUL, CALM ENVIRONMENT FOR YOUR SPELL CASTING
CALL UPON YOUR ANGELS TO ASSIST YOU
RESPECT EVERYTHING... try as hard as you can to eat all the right foods... Eat badly and you'll feel bad.
WISH FOR MONEY BUT BE CAREFUL OF GREED. If you need to cast spells for material gain…
NEVER INFLUENCE A PERSON’S MIND WITH MAGICK... You could indirectly take that person off the path they are destined to travel and deprive them of lessons they need to learn.... If you’ve reeled them back in, you have interfered with their karma, and you could get your karmic wrist slapped when you eventually pass over into spirit
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. No amount of magick will work unless you have faith in yourself
Chapter 20: Destiny Is Calling You
“Make a talisman, which is a stronger protector than an amulet”
“Smudge your space and your aura every now and then”
Tumblr media
I made a 'Bad Witch Book Bingo', and was genuinely surprised this book only got bingo 3 times 😅

~ 🌷 Witchy things you can do to honour yourself, your craft and your deities! 🌷 ~
~ 🌷 This will be a long post! 🌷 ~
- Spend time in nature (go hiking, meditate outdoors, collect some river water, make some sun water, plant something etc)
- Interact with your pets (example, dogs are often associated with Hekate so you could play with them or take them on a walk etc.)
- Donate to a shelter or charity in the name of your deity.
- Create a protection charm to add to your dog or cat’s collar. Our companions need protection sometimes too!
- Do your self-care as an act of devotion to yourself and your deity (you could do your skincare as devotion for Aphrodite for example.)
- Have a cleansing bath or shower. You can create a pouch full of cleansing and protective herbs to use.
- Make a piece of artwork for your deities. It could be a painting, clay vase, etc.
- Make a playlist of songs that give you positive energy or remind you of your deity.
- Make a journal or scrapbook about the things you love about your craft to remind you why you are practising.
- Do a daily card pull in the morning. This can be to see how your day will go or what you should be focusing on etc.
- Stir intentions into your drink in a morning (anti-clockwise to remove negativity, clockwise to bring in positivity. You can also say what you wish to manifest for that particular day. You may need an extra boost of inspiration for example.)
- Do some spell work with your deity. Ask them to give you aid with it or to protect you whilst you are doing it.
- Consider enchanting an item. It could be jewellery, a plant, a decorative item in your home etc.(If you would all like, I can make a post of how I personally like to enchant objects.)
- Tidy up your home. This one may seem a bit odd but please read my explanation as to why it is important to take care of your home. Different rooms in your home can be associated with different parts of your life. If you want to manifest something in part of your life, You need to take care of your home in order for your manifestation to work. Your kitchen is connected to your health and health of your household. Your bathroom is connected to your finances and the flow of finances in your household. Your bedroom is connected to the happiness and prosperity of your romantic relationships. Your living room is connected to your relationships with your friends and family.
- Learn how to read candles. Candles are commonly used as an offering to deities and for manifestation workings but sometimes you can have other entities trying to communicate with you via the candle flame. I personally have had ancestors messing about with candles, Not just deities.
- Use colour magick associations when picking out your outfit for the day. For example black is most commonly used as a protection colour.

HOW TO BANISH A SPIRIT/ENTITY
Tumblr media
do you have a not so friendly ghost in your home? or even just a spirit who has invaded your presence? or maybe a entity whom you no longer want in your space? if so, then this is the perfect spell for you. follow each steps, and this spirit shall be no more. (it’s fine if you substitute ingredients/objects in this spell, as long as your intent is strong)
Disclaimer: (ESPECIALLY with this spell it is vital that you already know how to protect yourself using magick, and have done a protection spell before this. also if you feel intuitively that you should swap some ingredients that’s fine too! you don’t have to follow the exact way I preformed this spell)
BACKSTORY:
earlier this year, my sister became haunted by the presence of a spirit who was deeply attached to her and her essence. Like myself, and many other witches, i practice tarot, so ofc I did divination on this situation and steps to take to move forward. Obviously this “man” or spirit as you may call it was no good. So I successfully banished him with this spell that I’ve created. Now, it is important to note, if you know the spirit name that is powerful and could further more feed into the spell, so that the energy has a direct target. However, (like in my case) if you don’t know the spirits name that’s fine too. Just make sure the intention is strong.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
-a white sachet bag
-a piece of paper
-black pepper- to ward off negative and unwanted spirits and entities from (name) and to banish them
-cinnamon- to provide (name) with protection from unwanted spirits and entities
-rusty nails- may anyone, people, spirit or entity that attempts to inflict harm onto (name) be reversed back banefully. May these rusty nails stand for a harsh protection.
-paprika- to speed up the speed of this spell, to protect (name) from negative energy, and unwanted spirits and entities
-garlic- to ward off and BANISH any unwanted spirits and entities and negative energies
-salt- protection, neutralize negative energy, ward off unwanted spirits
- a black candle
STEP 1:
now what you’ll want to do is cleanse the space with incense. (You should use a herbal incense that corresponds with protection) and ask your spirit guides or deities/ancestors (if you work with them) to protect and guide you during this spell.
STEP TWO:
write corresponding affirmations on piece of paper such “I banish any spirit/entity from my space, home, and essence entirely. I banish thee”. Fold this paper AWAY from you, then carve banishing affirmations onto black candle. Place black candle on top of the affirmation paper. Then add said ingredients as listed above onto the candle with the intent to banish this spirit from you or (someone else’s) life. Lastly you can light this candle.
STEP THREE:
as the candle is burning, play this banishment frequency, while mediating/visualizing this spirit leaving you alone forever. Along with saying aloud corresponding affirmations to the burning candle. You can play this frequency as many times as you like or what feels right for you.
here is the link to the frequency;

youtube
STEP FOUR:
now once the candle has fully burned on top of the affirmation paper, place this inside of the sachet bag. Below is a photo of the spell I did, it should look something like this;

LEVIATHAN
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WHO IS HE?
In Demonic mythology, Leviathan is often considered a powerful demon that embodies chaos and destruction. He is often depicted as a sea serpent, dragon, or sea monster. He is believed to be a symbol of evil and the embodiment of all that is dark and destructive in the world. In some traditions, Leviathan is also associated with deep waters and the depths of the sea, and is often thought to have the ability to create immense storms.
BASIC INFO:
Appearance: a massive, black or blue scaled serpentine-dragon with silver eyes that shine like stars; his body spans dozens of meters even when coiled. Leviathan usually keeps his eyes squinted when around others since if he fully opens them, it creates a massive blast of immense despair.
Personality: Leviathan values loyalty more than anything. He also values love, innocence, idealism, intelligence, and serenity. He is deeply ponderous and serious, and sometimes he can appear to be dire when overcome by despair. He is very meticulous and patient as well, and despite his dark and serious behaviour, he will show compassion towards those who are innocent. He usually prefers being alone and seldomly speaks to anyone, making him one of the most withdrawn demons. Leviathan is incredibly austere and diligent, as well as powerful. He is easily able to crush the psychologically defenses of armies just by approaching them. Leviathan is the ancient dragon who destroys all that is redundant (be it people, places, or ideas); he tears right through them but does not devour them. These things instead scatter apart over vast distances so that better things can come forth. Overall, Leviathan tends to be cold, calculating, dispassionate, and very reserved with most beings. He rarely speaks to anyone except only when necessary. Like every being, Leviathan has a shadow aspect, which is his darker and destructive side. This side emerges when Leviathan is overcome by his own grief, causing him to become cold, sadistic, and robotic in personality. This side of him is the one which created a race of entities which are very similar to the Cenobites mentioned in the books by Clive Barker. Leviathan creates these beings from select humans who are being tormented in his realm and transforms them into cold-natured beings who know nothing but pain and act as sado-masochistic torturers for Hell.
Symbols: The Leviathan Cross, serpents, dragons, seaweed, envy, seashells, and the sea
King/Ruler of: despair, pain, loneliness, isolation, chaos, envy, desolation, the sea, and defense
Culture: Demonic and Jewish
Plants: seaweed, lotus, iris, mint, lavender, reeds, and palo santo
Crystals: aquamarine, black tourmaline, azurite, larimar, obsidian, smoky quartz, ocean jasper, bloodstone, kyanite, sapphire, pearl, moonstone, tanzanite, clear quartz and enhydro quartz
Animals: serpents, dragons, crocodile, and whale
Incense: frankincense, copal, sandalwood, myrrh, eucalyptus, mint, lavender, calamus, and palo santo
Practices: water divination, shadow work, chaos magick, self-growth, protection, and transformation
Colours: blue, teal, silver, turquoise, black, emerald green, and white
Numbers: N/A
Zodiacs: Pisces and Aquarius
Tarot: Justice and The Devil
Planet: Neptune
Days: N/A
Parents: N/A
Sibling: Behemoth
Partner: unnamed partner
Children: N/A
MISC:
Dragons: in many cultures, dragons are often seen as powerful and fearsome creatures, and are associated with deep waters and the sea. Similarly, Leviathan is also a powerful and fearsome creature associated with the sea. It is possible that the idea of Levianthian creatures, such as sea serpents or dragons, emerged from the same deep waters and mysterious depths of the sea that Leviathan was associated with.
Serpents: particularly sea serpents, are often associated with Leviathan due to the similar nature and behaviour of the two creatures. Both are often depicted as large, powerful, and fearsome creatures that are able to move through the water effortlessly and strike with great force. Serpents are also often associated with wisdom, healing, and transformation, which are qualities that are sometimes attributed to Leviathan as well.
The sea: in Jewish mythology, the sea is often seen as a place of chaos and danger, and is associated with the unknown and the untamed. Leviathan, as a powerful and fearsome sea creature, is seen as embodying this chaotic and dangerous aspect of the sea, and is often associated with the raw power and mystery of the natural world. This association with the sea and chaos is also seen in the story of the creation of the world in Jewish mythology, which is said to have been made from the deep and chaotic waters of the sea.
Chaos: in many religious and mythological traditions, chaos is seen as a primordial state of disorder and emptiness, out of which the world and all of creation were formed. Leviathan, as a powerful and fearsome sea creature, was seen as embodying this state of chaos and destruction, and was thought to represent the raw and untamed power of the natural world. This association with chaos and the untamed wild is also seen in other mythological creatures in Jewish traditions, such as the Behemoth, which is often portrayed as a huge and destructive beast that represents the untamed and uncontrollable forces of nature.
Seaweed: it is often associated with Leviathan and other sea creatures because it is commonly found in the sea and is an important part of the marine ecosystem. Seaweed is often found clinging to rocks and other structures in the sea, and is an important food source for many marine creatures. It is also seen as a sign of abundant life in the sea, as it requires a healthy and productive ocean ecosystem to thrive. In addition, seaweed is sometimes associated with the idea of hidden power and potential, as it may hold secrets or properties that are not immediately apparent.
FACTS ABOUT LEVIATHAN:
He enjoys being seen as more of a dragon than a demon.
Leviathan can create tsunamis and create needles of water and skewer opponents.
He can manifest hellfire all over his body and incinerate his surroundings and targets at once.
Leviathan is one of the most powerful demons in Hell, personifying Envy which is one of the Seven Deadly Sins.
As the demonic ruler of the seas, Leviathan possess unlimited control over the oceans and all who dwell within.
Chaos manipulation: Leviathan is often described as an embodiment of chaos.
His ability allows him to travel across universes.
HOW TO INVOKE LEVIATHAN:
Speak to King Leviathan as you would with any other god, be polite and considerate, especially since he is royalty. Contact him through telepathically speaking in your mind, directing the words to him (you can do this verbally, but if malicious spirits hear, they may pretend to be him). Try to dress formally as well, and do not demand things from him. For those who are depressed, please keep in mind that speaking to Leviathan causes you to become exposed to his energy, which will lead to your depression becoming worse.
PRAYER FOR LEVIATHAN:
Great Leviathan, powerful and fierce, I come to you in humble admiration of your strength and might.
You are a reminder of the raw power of nature and the chaos that can exist within it. Help me to channel that strength within myself, and to use it for good and for the protection of those I care about.
Guide me, Great Leviathan, and watch over me with your all-seeing eye. Hail Great Leviathan.

Types of Spells
When I talk about spell types, I'm not referring to different spells, as in a protection spell versus an anti-anxiety spell. I'm going to go over the different types of:
Spell Jars Most of what's on this list are going to be self-explanatory, but these types of spells are typically in a glass jar and have ingredients like herbs, flowers, incense, essential oils, and liquids, and are sealed using wax. Spell jars do not actually have to be in glass jars, you can use old medication bottles, empty seasoning bottles, gum containers. These types of spells are meant to last years, decades if needed.
Spell Candles These are typically used for a quicker and more prolonged spell. The bigger the candle the longer it's going to take to burn all the way down. If you want to use something like a tea-light, take the candle and the wick out and place the herbs on the bottom, making sure to burn the candle all the way. You do not need to burn the entire candle all at once to get the effect you desire. Remember, this is a *personal* practice.
Sachets These are fabric pouches, with herbs and typically stuffed with cotton so one may sleep with the satchet. I highly recommend researching your cultures history(ies) with sachets as they all differ and diverge from one another. (It's quite fascinating to see the synchronicities.)
Scroll Spells I mentioned these in a previous post of mine and I've been wanting to discuss these as I don't see many of any one else talk about them. I got the inspiration from Naruto, although if you wanted to you could take inspiration from other pieces of media, from the scrolls used when summoning animals and types of ninja tools. You take a piece of paper, I prefer to use construction paper (use that colour magick!), and write a small ask of what you need and/or what you want, along with a sigil or as many sigils you want! Wrap use the paper and tie a string around it, seal it in wax if you prefer, and Boom you're done! I like to add a small piece of a broken off crystal inside of the drying wax for a bit of extra pizzaz!
A Witch's Box or a Witch's Jar These spells are not-quite all encompassing, these are historically ambiguous as these types of spells are so old, we as humans don't remember what they were once used for. They were typically thought of as a second-body of sorts, as they are tag-locked using urine or hair of that who made it, and spirits and evil-entities would get confused as to where that person's body is, and go after the jar or box.
Charmed Objects These spells are used to charm objects, these can range from your jewelry and make them in something that can protect you, your shoes - to help you go on more adventures, a salt lamp to ward off negative entities, or ornaments/nicknacks around the home to do various tasks. I like to create salt dough, it has protective properties from the salt and creates various shapes - moons, stars, marshmallows - and charming these objects for the associations of these objects.
Petitions These are letters you write or type and print, and set up for manifestations. Sealing the letters in wax definitely help give the vibe of an elder witch practicing.

🌐The Long and Complicated History of the Time Lords: Part II - The Evolution of Gallifrey
When we last left off, the universe had just stabilised, acquired dimensions, and was promptly infested with godlike entities, temporal parasites, and beings who eat time for breakfast. Now, finally, we zoom in on one red-grassed planet near the heart of Mutter's Spiral.
Welcome to Gallifrey.
Disclaimer: Information on the creation of existence and a whole society is obviously mixed. GIL has waded through many contradictions to provide you with the most cohesive, structured, and key details of how it all came about, but there is room for interpretation.
🪖 Gallifrey Evolves (Quickly and Questionably)
Life from the Ancestral Cell reached Gallifrey. Between the planet's natural temporal instability and the looming influence of the Untempered Schism, evolution got a bit creative. Rapid psionic development, sudden mutations, and dinosaurs with chitinous plating—you get the idea.
Eventually, sentient proto-Gallifreyans emerged—not from apes, thank you very much, but from time-soaked forms, most likely reptilian or saurian in nature. These beings began to perceive time, collapse quantum phenomena, and impose meaning on the universe. In doing so, they effectively helped invent biodata and the rules of reality as we understand them.
💖 The Shobogans and the Shadow Walkers
These early Gallifreyans came to call themselves Shobogans: shadow-dwelling, fire-wielding proto-humanoids with immense psionic potential. Their proximity to the Schism gave rise to natural time sensitivity.
They were the first humanoids in the universe, and thanks to morphic fields,[1] they seeded the archetype of humanoid life across countless other worlds. This is why so many aliens look suspiciously Time Lord.
The Shobogans believed themselves to walk between light and darkness, science and magic. Hence, the meaning of the word Gallifrey—"they that walk in the shadows."
⚔️ From Bronze to Empire (with Detours into Magick)
Civilisation blossomed. The Shobogans moved from spears to metallurgy, to steam, and eventually to spaceflight. They developed:
Telepathic cultures with emotion-sharing over distances
Old High Gallifreyan, a language that could bend reality [2]
Academia, structured educational systems for warriors and thinkers alike
Religious theocracy, ruled by visionaries and mystics
Their society was deeply influenced by Odic Energy and magickal thinking. Prophets read the future in volcanic vapours, dreams, and spatial fissures.
🚀 Tecteun and the Great Leap Outward
As Gallifrey entered its steam-and-steel era, enter Tecteun. Scientist, wanderer, and morally dubious, Tecteun was the first Gallifreyan to achieve spaceflight. Her ship was primitive and barely functional, but she ventured into the stars anyway.
While she was away exploring, Gallifrey industrialised, warred, and finally unified under the Pythia, a powerful oracle-priestess whose rule blended governance with mysticism. Her visions came from the Crevasse of Memories That Will Be (which is exactly as melodramatic as it sounds), and her temple became the beating heart of the Gallifreyan Empire. Their technological leaps were dramatic. They became a Level 6, then Level 7 society.
They moved beyond the Stellian Galaxy. Gallifreyan colonies sprang up across the cosmos.
🌟 Gallifrey Ascends
Gallifrey's empire grew vast. Its fleets spanned the stars. Colonies were ruled by governors, and Gallifreyan traders, generals, and scientists became legends.
They:
Mastered transduction barriers and pan-dimensional engineering
Developed psychic technology and prophecy-based strategy
Made contact with — and war upon — rival Fledgling Empires[3] like the Carrionites, Weeping Angels, and Osirans
Created myths, fairy tales, and interstellar propaganda still taught to Time Tots today
Religion remained central. The Pythian Order governed with divine authority, guided by the Menti Celesti (see here). Gallifrey was now a cosmic theocracy with industrial reach and psionic might.
⌚ The Age of Heroes Begins
As Gallifrey expanded, so arrived:
Omega (aka Peylix): Visionary, engineer, insomniac. Believed in building a better universe through science, not conquest. Disliked violence.
Rassilon (aka "Rass"): Architect, polymath, red-haired egotist with a flair for destiny. Brilliant at weaponising mathematics. Enjoyed onions.[4]
The Other: A mysterious figure in Gallifreyan history. His name, birthplace, and appearance have all been forgotten, but was rumoured to have extraordinary powers.
Together, they would change the course of Gallifrey.
Assembled from ROOG and TARDIS Wiki
Next Week: Part III – The Rise of Rassilon
Footnotes:
[1] Morphic Fields = A metaphysical field. Stronger in older species, which explains why Gallifreyans have suspiciously wide genetic influence.
[2] Old High Gallifreyan = Not just a language but a reality-altering script probably infused with the powers of Odic energy.
[3] Fledgling Empires = Early galactic powers that challenged Gallifrey's dominance during the Dark Times.
[4] Rassilon's Onion Habit = Possibly apocryphal.

Energy Store-House Entities (ESHEs)
Have you ever wished that you had just a bit more magickal energy during a working? Have you ever wished that you could tap into an energy reserve to help out with a healing? Well now you can, if you create an Energy Store-House Entity (ESHE). An ESHE's sole purpose is to collect, store, and distribute energy on demand. This type of entity is created to store energy that is given to it at times when you feel full of energy or power, but have nothing to do with it. It then collects this energy and stores it, waiting for you to call upon it to deliver the energy back to you. Even if you feed negative energy to it after you have been in an argument, your ESHE could have been instructed, during creation, to remove all emotion from the energy and to store only the pure, raw energy for your use.
You can adapt an ESHE to collect neutral forms of energy, like the light from a lamp being left on when it is not needed, to add to your energy to increase the power available to you. If you do this, it may be a good idea to be very specific as to what type of energy it collects, and how it collects it. There have been some ill prepared magi that have accidentally created energy "vampires" that would collect any type of energy they can, even from people.
You can also use this sort of entity to send energy to other people. If, for example, a friend of yours was just in an accident, you cannot be there for them and you do not have the time or ability to do a full magickal ritual for them, you could, however, send your ESHE to deliver energy to them - it sure "one ups" the typically "I'll light a candle for you" cliche spewed by so many.

So based on what I've read so far for primers on chaos magic, I recommend starting with Condensed Chaos: An Introduction To Chaos Magic by Phil Hine, THEN getting the updated and revised and expanded editions of Liber Null and Psychonaut and also Liber Kaos by Peter J Carroll.
Caveats for Condensed Chaos:
misuse of "shaman" and similar terms (none of what is brought up relates to Tungusic peoples)
written by a neurotypical white English bisexual cisgender man, and boy howdy is the neurotypical part obvious in several areas
inconsistent capitalization for concepts, and also inconsistent comma usage
definitely a product of its time and not decolonized, which is a larger problem in chaos magic as a whole
Recommended Audience for Condensed Chaos:
pop culture mages/pagans
those interested in servitors, sigils, or chaos magic more broadly
technology mages
those who want to explore Jungian psychology in magic
As for Peter J Carroll's works... Basically the same as the above, yet also way more difficult to read if you're not used to old grimoire-esque language and writing styles.
I'd still genuinely recommend all three of these, just with the reminder to raise an eyebrow at some of the claims made.
The books I still have to read on chaos magic that I currently own are Hands-On Chaos Magic: Reality Manipulation Through The Ovayki Current by Andrieh Vitimus; Creating Magickal Entities: A Complete Guide to Entity Creation by David Michael Cunningham, Taylor Ellwood, and T Amanda R Wagener; and Magickal Servitors: Create Your Own Spirits To Attract Pleasure, Power and Prosperity by Damon Brand.
Plenty of reading left for me to do on this subject.

Combat Magick: The Art Of Mystical Warfare
Tumblr media
Combat magick is the practice of using metaphysical and energetic techniques for defense, offense, and strategic advantage in spiritual or psychic conflicts. It blends elements of protection, attack, and counterattack, often drawing upon personal will, energy manipulation, and ritual magick to influence outcomes in battles—whether physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual.
Principles of Combat Magick
• Energetic Warfare – Combat magick works by manipulating energy to shield, attack, or neutralize threats. Practitioners learn to harness their own energy and direct external forces to achieve victory.
• Intent and Willpower – A strong will is essential in combat magick. The practitioner's intent determines whether their spells are defensive, retaliatory, or aggressive.
• Cleverness and Intellect - When it comes right down to it, your mind is the single best weapon in your arsenal. The practitioner should possess a some level of mental prowess before attempting combat magick.
• Ethical Considerations – While some use combat magick for self-defense, others employ it for baneful purposes. Some witches mayfollow guidelines such as the Threefold Law or personal codes of conduct that forbid the use of such workings.
Tumblr media
Forms of Combat Magick
Defensive Magick (Shielding & Warding):
• Shielding: Creating energetic barriers around oneself or others to deflect attacks (psychic, emotional, spiritual).
• Warding: Placing protective symbols, sigils, or enchanted objects around spaces to prevent intrusion.
• Cleansing & Banishing: Removing negative influences through smoke cleansing, salt, sound, or sacred words.
Offensive Magick (Curses & Hexes):
• Curses & Hexes: Directing harmful energy toward an opponent to weaken, confuse, deter, or harm them.
• Energy Manipulation: Sending concentrated bursts of energy to disrupt an enemy’s balance.
• Elemental Combat: Calling upon fire, water, air, or earth to aid in magickal attacks.
Counterattacks & Reversal Magick:
• Mirror Spells (Return to Sender): Reflecting an attack back to it's source.
• Unbinding & Curse Breaking: Severing unwanted energetic ties or removing hostile spells.
• Reversal Magick: Redirecting negativity away from oneself and sending it elsewhere.
Tumblr media
Tools & Techniques Used in Combat Magick
• Sigils & Symbols – Used for protection, strength, or attack. Examples include Algiz (protection), Mars glyphs (aggression).
• Herbs & Crystals – Protective plants like blackthorn, vervain, or dragon’s blood; stones like obsidian, hematite, or black tourmaline. Baneful components include herbs like datura, calamus, belladonna or Spanish moss and stones like opal, sardonyx, and garnet.
• Blood & Personal Energy – Some warriors of the craft may infuse spells with personal essence or their own blood to strengthen the magick.
• Chanting & Incantations – Words of power can amplify intent and activate spells more effectively.
• Astral Combat – Fighting in the spiritual realm through visualization, dream work, or projection. This can help you catch your target in a vulnerable position and quickly gain the upper hand.
Tumblr media
Who Uses Combat Magick?
• Witches & Sorcerers – Those who practice both light and dark magick for protection or justice.
• Psychic Warriors & Energy Workers – Individuals who engage in spiritual defense against negative entities or forces.
• Shamans & Spirit Walkers – Practitioners who deal with hostile spirits or supernatural threats as well as those performing exorcisms.
• Chaos Magicians – Those who employ sigils, servitors, and energy constructs for their warfare.
Combat magick is not for the faint of heart—it requires discipline, mastery of energy work, and deep self-awareness. While it can be a powerful tool for protection and justice, it should always be wielded with wisdom and responsibility. Whether defending against psychic attacks or engaging in mystical battles, combat magick remains an essential part of the spiritual warrior’s arsenal.

The Virtues of Sacred Woods: Embracing the Magick of Trees
Note To Reader: As we find ourselves in the heart of summer, journeying along the southern road of the crossroads here in Appalachia, we embrace the virtue of earth and the magick of Old Mother Green Cap. This post is woven from the threads of traditional witchcraft, physical witchcraft, and my own path. As always, take what resonates and leave the rest. Feel free to make up or create your own correspondences and virtues as you see fit.
What is a virtue? In our witchy world, a virtue is a beneficial quality or power of something, a word whispered from the metaphysical lips of existence. It's the hidden essence, the subtle energy, the magick that pulses through the veins of the natural world. When we speak of virtues, we're invoking the spirit and energy that dwells within every tree, every branch, every tool crafted from nature's gifts.
Among the myriad stick-formed tools in the Traditional Craft of Cunning, two stand as pillars in our practice: the Wand and the Stang (or Staff). While their virtues are distinct, their roots intertwine deeply with the ancient woods from which they were born. Let us briefly explore these sacred tools, for within their grain lies the power to shape our craft and connect us to the hidden currents of the world.
-The Wand: Conduit of Power-
The wand, slender and elegant, is a faithful companion to the cunning practitioner. Its primary virtue lies in its ability to direct power and energy, much like a conductor's baton orchestrating the unseen forces around us. Wands are used to banish unwanted influences and spirits, sweep away negativity, and conjure helpful entities from the ether. When we cast a working circle, the wand traces the boundary, marking a sacred space or container where magick can unfold.
Each wand, depending on the wood it is crafted from, carries its own unique virtue. A wand of oak might offer a fiery virtue of strength, wisdom, power, protection, or aid to solar rites and magick… while one of willow could provide a watery virtue of emotional healing, strengthening love, divination, enchantment, enlightenment, or aid to rites and workings of the Moon. The wood whispers its secrets to us, guiding our hand and amplifying our intent. Thus, the wand becomes an extension of our will, a bridge between the mundane and the magickal.
Tumblr media
My "Red Serpent" Wand: This wand is directly linked to the serpent energy of the land. It is made from Oak and has a Dragon Blood Stone, Snake rib, and Blood embedded into it. I use it as an extension of my own willpower and life force. I usually bury it under a Full moon to charge when "Sprowl" is at its peak.
-The Stang: Pillar of the Worlds-
The stang, often fashioned from a forked staff, holds a different yet equally potent virtue. It can stand as a representation of the Horned One, the dualities of nature, and the power that flows from earth to sky. In its form, we see the concept of the World Tree, a sacred axis that grants access to the virtues of both the upper and lower worlds and those that lie at the crossroads.
In ritual workings, the stang is a steadfast companion. Its presence anchors us, grounding our energy and connecting us to the land. When we walk the paths of the wild, the stang serves as a tool to gather and store land energy, the elusive "sprowl" that breathes life into our craft. It becomes a beacon, drawing the virtues of the earth and sky into our rites and rituals, where they can be harnessed and directed.
Tumblr media
My Stang that I have been slowly working on for a few years now. It is made from Oak and the forked ends have Clear Quartz in each end. It has the Web of Wyrd Rune on the front and the symbols for each element on the back. I mainly use my Stang during laying and conjuring the crossroads for rituals.
-The Dance of Wood and Witch-
In the dance of wood and witch, we find our path illuminated by the virtues of our tools. The wand and the stang, though different in form and function, both serve as conduits of the ancient energies that flow through the natural world. They are not mere objects, but living entities that resonate with the heartbeat of the land.
Some practitioners favor keeping several wands, each made from different kinds of wood to suit various purposes. Yet, many find solace in the singular presence of one main stang or staff, a trusty ally that carries their spirit and intention.
As we continue to explore the virtues of the different woods, let us remember that our connection to these tools is a sacred bond. Through them, we touch the spirit of the trees, the whispers of the wind, and the silent strength of the earth. They are our guides, our protectors, and our allies in the timeless craft of cunning.
-The Virtues of Woods-
Note: This list is but a glimpse, for the world is rich with countless species of trees. Here, I focus on trees that dwell in my own corner of the world and the ones I know. These are mainly just the virtues of the wood and bark (not the leaves, flowers, seeds, or fruit). I highly recommend you embark on a journey to discover and list the trees within your local area, letting their virtues reveal themselves to you. Also, please take caution of any poisonous trees.

Apple: Love, Healing, Friendship, Divination, Garden Magick, and Harmony

Beech: Wisdom, Knowledge, Focus, Meditation, Wishes
Birch: Purification, Creativity, Willpower, Initiation of Inception, Birth & Fertility.
Blackthorn: Baneful, Associated with Bucca Dhu/The Devil, Blasting, Defensive Magick, Setting Boundaries, Toad Magick, and Rites of The Dark Moon.
Cedar: Cleansing, Protection, Wards, Divination, Summoning, Consecration, Prosperity

Hazel: Wisdom, Luck, Fertility, Wishes, Divination, Dowsing Wands, Inspiration & Visions

I’ve replied to comments about this multiple times now but it’s too much info to share in reply to a comment each time I see it so I thought I’d share it in full. I might have even shared some of it before but I can’t remember and tbh everyone seems to be interested now even though I’ve had these things headcanoned from when Nicky’s story was first shown.
So here, this is my version of how Nicky was made!
I have a similar take on this which I’ve had from when we first met Nicky in the show. In fact my first fanfic for this world involves it. I honestly struggle to see any other version now lol.
I think there are a few things that there is only one answer to and I’ll go through them a bit.
Point 1 - no one has told us who Agatha is running from on the day Nicky was born. Even as a reasonably young witch she was strong so if she were to be chased out by villagers or other witches etc she wouldn’t be running. She would have dealt with them in her usual style. Then it falls to Rio. But even then, I think she knows she couldn’t outrun or hide from Rio. I look at this two ways.
Either it was a case of maternal instinct, the need to at least try and protect her son making her run. (Which is far from nothing when you consider she is clearly in labour at that point and she would likely find walking at a decent pace hard let alone running). Or, she was trying to escape the scenario because she knew there might be a chance she would die instead of Nicky. She knew Rio wouldn’t let her take that chance, especially if it would make everything worse for all involved and if it wasn’t the primary outcome.
I always felt that Rio had only known he was dying maybe an hour before we see Agatha in the forest. I presume he was going to die due to the umbilical cord strangling him (most other options would have caused Agatha significant harm too and she likely would also have died) or something similar. I feel that she let Agatha go, gave her some time because Agatha has Huge issues with emotions.
Basically all this to say that I don’t think there was ever any risk to carrying the child of Death or that the children of Death would die etc. I also don’t think Rio hid it, I think it was a horrible turn of events.
Also when it comes to his eventual death age 6, I think Nicky had TB. TB can be latent meaning it’s inactive in the body for years without symptoms. It isn’t often passed from mother to child but it does happen if there is blood mixed during birth. The symptoms Nicky seems to have match with this, his deterioration over time, the cough, paleness etc and that it was very very common in the population at the time.
(Maybe it’s ultra sadistic in a way but I do kind of love the poetic irony of it actually being Agatha in a way that ended his life)
Point 2- Nicky was made ‘from scratch’ he was not made using magick. Perhaps there is a world in which Rio can alter her anatomy - (and where Agatha accepted the whole idea - she’s too gay for that in my personal headcanon! 🤣) - but I think what this meant was that he wasn’t created by a planned, deliberate spell. He was the creation of love, and of that deeper magick that Rio possesses as a cosmic entity.
I don’t imagine they planned for him to happen because they didn’t use a spell. I don’t think they imagined it was possible, and if they had through it possible they wouldn’t have waited possibly 50 or more years to have him. Even for witches I imagine being pregnant is easier in your twenties than your seventies.
I see it that Nicky should have been impossible in the same way it should have been impossible for Death to fall in love. So, I guess, the impossible and incredible love that Rio had (has) for Agatha is what made that spark happen.
Rio (in my own writing lol) realised four months after it had happened that there had been a time where during the intensity of their love making she had released some sort of cloud of magic. They had both noticed it, a brief second of green surrounding them. Agatha had turned it into a joke, bragging about her skillful hands. It was only after they had known about their child that Rio believed her magic had created the necessary components, making its own version of a sperm cell that was created directly into the position it needed to be in, that it had happened to be at the right point, during ovulation and somehow they had made Nicky.
She had never intended it fully - yes maybe it was something she wanted but not something likely - but her deeper less human side had likely been able to smell the changes, to know this was the perfect time to conceive even if she had no idea she could.
To summarise; - Nicky wasn’t planned because he wasn’t possible - not in that fashion anyway. - Rio wasn’t capable of getting Agatha pregnant in the same way she wasn’t capable of falling in love. Both were beyond the reach of normal truths. Make sense?
