do you have any results to share from the wc fan survey?
ive been busyyy sorry. I'll try to close it soon 😭
#I haven't forgotten about it I just want to be in a good headspace when I put out the closing message#and my schedule has kind of been all over the place lately#so I'm keeping it open a bit longer! apologies for the wait#I also don't want to stress myself out so I'm not putting a date on when I need to finish refining the data#it's going to take AGES bc I put an 'other' answer on basically every question#so I need to look over and rewrite and recompile Everything to catch all the nuance#which won't be easy with hundreds of responses#so don't hold your breath bc it'll be at leasttt a few weeks after the survey closes.#which is just 'whenever I stop being busy'#note to anyone doing something like this. Don't put an other option if you don't need to#sacrifice the nuance for your time#I've got dozens of people on every multichoice using 'other' to type in one of the regular options with Slightly different phrasing

Can you please do a George having a daughter the same age as Kimi, and he finds out there dating, and freaking out?
The boyfriend/teammate

"I can't believe he thinks he's faster than me through Sector 2," Kimi scoffed, tossing a protein bar toward Yn, who caught it effortlessly.
They were sitting on a low wall just behind the hospitality area, the warm hum of the paddock swirling around them. Mechanics rushed by, PR people clicked down the walkways in sharp heels, and the ever-present sound of tires being rolled echoed nearby.
"You are faster," Yn said with a smirk, unwrapping the bar. "But he's not wrong about your starts. Those are a disaster."
"Okay, rude," Kimi mock-pouted. "I'm trying my best."
"Your best almost ended up in the pit wall in Bahrain."
Kimi blinked at her. "That was one time."
Yn arched an eyebrow. "Two."
"Okay, fine. Twice. But we’re not talking about that anymore. We’re talking about how awesome I am in Sector 2."
"Your ego needs its own garage space."
Kimi grinned, leaning back on his hands. "You love it."
Yn flushed, just barely, the warmth rising in her cheeks not from the sun.
She did. God help her, she really did.
Yn had grown up in the paddock. Her earliest memories included race day adrenaline, the scent of burning rubber, and her dad’s voice on the radio. By the time she was twelve, she could tell the difference between tire compounds just by looking. By fourteen, she was helping her dad review telemetry.
And now at eighteen, she had the run of the paddock like it was her second home.
Which was great.
Except for the part where her dad’s new teammate was annoyingly charming and exactly her type.
Kimi was just a few months older. He was confident, a little too pretty for his own good, and had a laugh that made her stomach flutter.
It had started slow. A shared joke here. A walk back from the media pen. Watching data together. And then... more.
Now, they snuck hand squeezes behind hospitality tents, exchanged texts all through the night, and once, memorably, made out in the motorhome when the team was at a strategy meeting.
But they'd kept it quiet.
Until now.
"You what?!"
George stood in the team’s motorhome, eyes wide, voice somewhere between a shout and a squeak.
Yn winced. "Dad, calm down."
"I am calm!" George said, clearly not calm. "You’re dating him?"
Kimi, ever unbothered, lifted his hand in a little wave. "Hi."
"Don’t 'hi' me! I trusted you! I mentored you! I— I— I taught you how to heel-and-toe!"
"That was very helpful, thank you," Kimi said earnestly.
George flailed. "Kimi!"
"Dad," Yn said, stepping between them, voice steady. "It’s not like we planned it. We just... started spending time together. You know how often I'm around."
"Yes, and I trusted him!"
"I’m still me," Kimi offered. "Just with your daughter’s number now."
"Not helping!"
"Sorry."
George paced a few steps, hands on his hips, then turned to his daughter.
"Yn. You’re my little girl."
"I’m eighteen."
"My baby girl."
Yn groaned. "You let me drive a car at Silverstone at fifteen."
"Exactly! Because I trust you! But this—this is different."
"Why? Because it’s Kimi?"
"Yes! No! I mean—he’s my teammate!"
Kimi raised a finger. "I’ll never crash into him on purpose."
George stopped pacing. "On purpose?"
"I mean—I wouldn’t crash at all. Sorry. That came out wrong."
George sighed dramatically and sank onto the couch.
"This is going to be a disaster."
"Or not," Yn said softly. "Dad... we care about each other. A lot."
George looked up at her, then over at Kimi, who looked surprisingly earnest. He’d taken his cap off, ruffling his hair like he always did when nervous.
"I’ll take care of her," Kimi said. "Promise."
There was a long pause.
George sighed again. "I need coffee."
The next day, the entire paddock knew.
Not because they told anyone.
Because George told everyone.
"Did you know my daughter is dating Kimi?" he said to a stunned Toto at the morning briefing.
Toto blinked. "...Congratulations?"
"Thanks. I think. Maybe. I don’t know!"
When Max wandered into the lounge later, George cornered him.
"She’s seeing Kimi."
"...And you’re telling me this why?"
"Because you’ve known him for years! Should I be worried?"
Max blinked. "About what? That he’s gonna crash her into a wall of roses? He’s the most boringly respectful guy I’ve ever met."
George frowned. "That's what worries me. No one is that respectful."
Later that afternoon, Kimi was cornered by a swarm of drivers in the cool down room.
"You’re dating George’s daughter?" Lando asked, grinning wide.
"Please tell me you told George in the car."
"No, it was in the motorhome," Kimi muttered.
"Coward," Pierre said, flopping onto a beanbag. "I would’ve done it in the garage. With the radio on."
Oscar leaned over. "Are you scared of him?"
"Terrified," Kimi admitted. "He keeps looking at me like he’s imagining pit stop sabotage."
George, for his part, was trying to be supportive.
He just... had moments.
Like when he stood outside the motorhome while Kimi and Yn were inside, dramatically clearing his throat every five minutes.
Or when he "accidentally" sat between them at dinner.
Or when he started casually asking Kimi about his intentions. Every day. In public.
"So, Kimi," George said, strolling up with a totally fake smile, "where do you see yourself in five years?"
Kimi blinked. "...Still racing, maybe. Traveling. With Yn, hopefully."
George narrowed his eyes. "Mm-hm."
"You asked," Kimi said defensively.
"Just making sure we’re on the same page."
Yn rolled her eyes so hard she almost tipped over.
But slowly, things softened.
George saw how Kimi waited for Yn outside of interviews. How he held her hand protectively in crowded media zones. How he watched her with the same tenderness George remembered in Carmen’s eyes when Yn was born.
One evening, George found them sitting under a canopy of stars behind the paddock, Kimi’s jacket wrapped around Yn’s shoulders, her head on his shoulder.
George didn’t interrupt.
Just watched for a moment.
Then smiled.
The race that weekend was a blur of chaos—rain, safety cars, unexpected pit stops. Kimi managed a podium. George finished just behind.
As they stepped off the podium, champagne-soaked and exhausted, George nudged Kimi.
"Nice drive."
Kimi turned, blinking. "Thanks. You too."
George gave him a long look.
Then smirked.
"Hurt her and I’ll replace your steering wheel with a baguette."
Kimi grinned. "Noted."
"Good. Now go kiss your girlfriend before the photographers find her."
And with that, George walked off, already planning to call Carmen and tell her everything.
Kimi ran straight to Yn, swept her up in a hug, spinning her slightly before pressing a kiss to her lips. She laughed into it, arms wrapped tight around his neck.
"He smiled," Kimi whispered.
"My dad?"
"He didn’t even flinch."
"Wow. Progress."
"Do you think he likes me now?"
Yn grinned. "Let’s not get ahead of ourselves."
Back in the motorhome that night, George flopped onto the couch beside Carmen.
"She’s in love."
Carmen looked up from her book. "We knew that."
"With Kimi."
She smiled. "I know."
George groaned. "I’m not ready."
Carmen kissed his cheek. "You don’t have to be. You just have to be there."
He sighed. "Do you think I can still scare him a little? Just to keep him on his toes?"
Carmen smirked. "Oh, absolutely. That’s a father’s job."
George nodded. "Good. Tomorrow I’m sending him a list of dating rules."
Carmen raised an eyebrow. "Color-coded?"
"Laminated."
She laughed, leaning into him.
And in the next room, Yn and Kimi lay curled on the couch, watching old race replays, fingers entwined, hearts full.
Love, it seemed, had found its place on the grid.
Even if it had to dodge a few protective elbows along the way.

yandere!idia making a dating sim based off of you as practice for the irl world LMFAOOOO. (gn (y/n)).

bc why the hell is he settling for pre-established characters that may look and act like you when he can just develop a game with just one (1) love interest who looks like you down to the T?!
And he can even play it both on his PC and tablet!
[1/6]
[more under the cut!]

I like to think that the real (Y/N) isn't even remotely near to being cold or stoic compared to the visual novel (Y/N) and that Idia just gets off on the trope of 'Character A being the only one Character B gets soft around' which contradicts all the data ortho gathered for him LMFAOOOOO, ofc interpret it how you want <3 maybe (Y/N) IS cold and stoic in real life, I like all variations !!
actually on second thought, ortho's data truly did nothing bc idia literally made (Y/N) in the dating sim perfectly okay with being kidnapped (unless,,, you're also freaky like that?? :flush:) like,,,,
additional thoughts:
Idia plans to add future expansions to his dating sim like incorporating AUs and even adding a future timeskip to the true ending route, he's invested in this!
debated on whether or not he should make the MC more like him or lean toward the 'ikemen' chad type. ended up going for the one that resembles him bc he gets mushy at the thought of (Y/N) loving him for him.

i am so serious when i say i rushed this so bad (when do I not) but I needed to get this done ASAP bc next week is when the term starts getting ess arr ess for finals </3 but there WILL be a part two to this (just not idia centric this time, I fear </3)

#inspired by book 7 spoilers#i'm not even up to date with book 7 yet im literally at ep 1 rn#but what he did was too peak to pass up#yandere x reader#yandere#soft yandere#yandere male#yandere x darling#yanderecore#yandere idia shroud#yandere idia x reader#yandere idia#yandere twisted wonderland#yandere twst#twst x reader#twisted wonderland x reader#idia x reader#idia shroud#twst#twst wonderland#disney twst#twst art#twst fanart

office hours 💼 (poly!141 x fem!reader)
Working at a corporate job wasn’t as bad people deemed it to be. The pay was good enough to keep all your bills up to date and you really couldn’t complain other than how boring it was to sit down for eight hours checking over millions of emails everyday. Your tedious cycle is soon interrupted when your general manager urges you that you’re needed at the boss’s office, immediately.

You never liked Monday’s .
Not only were they a struggle to wake up to, but they were a constant reminder that a long week was ahead of you.
It was a bit weird to think about it now. To see yourself working in the business industry, let alone in a setting where you’ve heard and seen people overwork themselves to death. Perhaps it was the bad representation corporate jobs had but you like to think that you were one of the few lucky ones to land in a good working environment thanks to your good friend, Stella.
She was a good friend from the inside and out, and although you are very grateful for her practically saving you from getting evicted from your apartment a year ago, you valued your sleep. Wanting nothing to do but sink into the comfort of your freshly washed sheets.
However, your short-lived bliss was soon interrupted by your second alarm. A loud groan slipping past your lips as you slam your hand against the screen of your phone in hopes of it shutting off. It was 7 AM, meaning that you had about an hour and a half to get ready.
“Fuck me.” You groggily say, rubbing the sleep off your eyes as you hastily pull the blankets off of you, dragging yourself to the bathroom.
Brushing your teeth and washing your face took longer than you expected with the speed you were going at. Your outfit was next which didn’t take much time to pick with the few simple (boring) choices you had in your closet. You looked down at your watch only to curse at yourself at the time.
Hurriedly, you make your hair look presentable, sliding your feet into your heels as you grab your necessities on your way downstairs. Laptop, charger, headphones along with some important paperwork all getting stuffed into your bag with little care.
With your keys in hand, you were ready to start another week typing away.
You typically expect a folder already in your desk every time you walk through the doors of the 1-4-1 Corporation building. A bunch of paperwork needed to be checked over and reported for any mistakes along with looking over data was typically your day-to-day tasks. However, what you did not expect is to see a small paper bag filled not only filled with your favorite pastry, but also a steaming cup of hot chocolate next to it.
A smile stretches over your lips as you catch a glimpse of Stella’s own sly grin across from the panel separating you two. “Have I ever told you how much I love you?” You tease, earning an eye roll from her as she shakes her head. “All the time.”
“Seriously, how are you not married yet? Anyone would be lucky to have a gem like you.” Mumbling the last bit to yourself as you get settled in, not wasting any time to take a bite of the sweet strawberry cruffin in front of you.
Stella just brushes her blonde hair to the side, going back to typing with a smirk. “Precious jewels like me need to be wary of the hungry hands of people.”
“A thank you would have sufficed, woman.” Immediately taking back your compliment back with a groan at her words in which Stella responds by simply throwing her head back in laughter at your embarrassed state.
“You’re no fun in the mornings, babes. So grumpy.” Your friend simply says, swiping some whip cream off your tasty muffin and bringing it up to her lips as you send a glare her way before taking a sip of your hot chocolate.
You get into the flow of things after finishing your breakfast. Going through last week’s reports and checking off papers so they can be sent off as well as checking off dates for any pending events or projects that need to be done before the end of the month. You send a couple emails to the other employees, reminding them of an upcoming meeting with your GM, David.
Speak of the devil, you see him approaching your desk. A rush in his step that has alarms bells raising in your head as his eyes scan the room before they’re landing on you. Uh oh. That can’t be good.
“Hey, can you come with me for a second?” He says rather swiftly, a stiff smile forming on his lips as he taps his finger against your desk.
“Uh.. yeah! Sure.” You respond back, flattening your hands across your skirt as you stand up. You send a quick anxious glance at your friend in which Stella replicates with a worried look of her own as she shrugs her shoulders, a direct way to show her own perplexity to the situation.
Following behind the steps of David, you take the opportunity to go over the things you could have possibly done wrong. Had you missed a report? Done a mistake on the data? Misspelled something? Or miss a date? No. That can’t be. Even with all the things racing through your mind— you can’t figure out why your general manager would want to meet you privately.
You don’t even notice when you two are in the elevator, going up the levels of the building until a small ‘bing’ and the click of the doors sliding open break you out of your frantic haze. Gulping down your nerves, you follow David out of the elevator, heels clicking against polished concrete floors as the man in fronts of you guides you through a hallway you don’t recognize.
Breaking the silence, you stop. David turning back to face you with an illegible expression as he stops in front of a door. “What’s going on? Am I getting fired?” You say, trying your best to hide the shaking in your voice as you stare at him.
“What-? No, no!” David shakes his head, letting out a sigh of his own as he tries to find the words to explain the oddity of him suddenly pulling you out of your seat. “I got a call from Laswell that you were needed at the boss’s office immediately. She didn’t give me an explanation.”
Laswell. Chief operating officer of the company which you only got to see her once when you barely started working for this company. That definitely did not put your nerves to ease, shifting your gaze to door in front of you as your eyes catch a nameplate. Johnathan Price, Chief executive officer.
What the hell.
“Look kid, I’m sure it’s nothing bad.” David says, grabbing your shoulders in an attempt to ground you despite his tone revealing his own doubt. You can only nod as you shift your eyes back to him, offering him a tight smile.
He doesn’t linger for long, telling you something along the lines to not say anything he wouldn’t say as if that helps the bile building in your throat with how nervous you are. You’re left alone after that, eyes boring into into the door before you’re taking a deep breath in, lifting your hand up to knock.
“Come in.” A gruff voice says from the other side of the door.
Lifting a shaky hand, you grip the handle and twist it open as you step into his office. Making sure to gently close the door behind you as you stand a few feet away from the man who can possibly ruin your life by firing you.
Your breath gets caught in your throat as you meet his gaze. Cold and steady eyes meet yours, your back straightening without thinking.
His presence screams authority. Perfect ironed suit complementing his domineering look as he leans against his chair. His gaze never wavers, not even when he tilts head to point at the chair in front of him, silently telling you to sit down without uttering a word.
Your brain short circuits for a split second before your feet are swiftly making their way towards the chair. Hands pressed against the material of your skirt as you rest them in front of you, crossing your legs in hopes of coming off as calm and collected despite the sweat building up between your shoulder blades.
He’s analyzing you. Like a predator watching its prey with a sharp gaze, ready to pounce at any moment. You can’t help but squirm. He finally breaks the silence by letting out a soft sigh of his own, arms stretching to rest on top of his desk.
“I can tell you’re nervous and that’s partially my fault for bringing you here in such short notice.” He explains, offering you a sympathetic smile that has you instantly deflating and letting out a small chuckle of your own as you shake your head.
“It’s really no problem, sir,” you say, intertwining your fingers together to keep them from shaking as you offer a small smile, “just caught me off guard that’s all.”
He hums, eyes flickering down to your hands before they’re finding yours again. “Just John, sweetheart. You’ll be working with us soon enough so there’s no need for formalities.” He simply states, grabbing a folder from underneath his desk as he slides it towards you.
Us? What was that supposed to mean?
You break eye contact to look at the manilla folder in front of you. Mouth opening and closing like a fish with how hard it is to form words as you try to process his. “I-I’m sorry, sir— I mean John,” you stutter out, grabbing the folder in your hands and opening it to flick through the pages. “I don’t think I quite understand what you mean..” you drag the last part, your eyes catching onto something that has you stopping mid sentence.
“Request to transfer for the following recipient.”
It takes you a moment to read through all the pages, John’s own watchful gaze still on you as he lets you take in the details of his unexpected proposition. Taking a deep breath, you close the folder and set it back down once you’re finished. The man in front of you seems to be unaffected by the situation, a neutral expression on his face as he stares at you.
“We’ve went through all your records and heard all great things about you.” He assures you, your ears warming up at his praise while mumbling a small thank you. “It was really a last minute decision and I apologize for that. Our previous assistant has recently moved to another department and we took it as an opportunity to find a new set of extra hands.”
You nod to show your understanding, your eyes finding it hard to stay put on his face as he talks with that voice of his. Eyes lingering down to his beard, tie, the expand of his chest and the cuff of his sleeves. You flinch once he taps his finger against the hard table, eyes flicking back to him.
“Sorry.!” You squeak out, an amused eyebrow raised on his face as he stares at you. “Thought I lost you there for a moment. I know it must be a lot to take in right now but please, think about it.”
Everything after that is a blur, John leads you out of his office with his palm hovering over the span of your back as he wishes to hear back from you soon, leaving you with a sticky note between your fingers with his contact information in it, holding it tightly even when you get back to your station.
“What happened? Are you in trouble? Oh, please don’t tell me you got laid of—” Stella rushes, a worried look on her face once you return, her hands squeezing at your shoulders as you stop her rambling.
“Stella— no, I didn’t get laid off,” you say as relief washes over your friend, “I um, got a promotion?”
Stella’s eyes widen at that, a big smile stretching over her lips as she brings you into a tight hug. A small oof passing through your lips at the tight embrace, Stella congratulating you before she’s pulling away from you with furrowed eyebrows. “Don’t tell me you didn’t accept it.”
A pin could drop and you would hear it with how quiet it goes between the two of you as you stare at her with a guilty look. “Did you fall on your way here or something? What the hell, babes!” Your friend declares with bewilderment, flicking your forehead in which you respond with a small yelp as you rub the tender skin.
“Hey! He told me to think about it,” you defend yourself, letting out a soft sigh of your own as you sit back on your chair, the palm of your hand resting against your cheek, “I think he could tell I was close to disintegrating with how nervous I looked.”
Stella lets out a small snort at that, her own arms crossing against her chest as she stares at you, a look in her eyes that just screams spill. “He offered me to be his secretary,” you explain, avoiding eye contact as you start to type the last of your email you were working on before you were unexpectedly interrupted, “said that his recent one left to another department, permanently from the looks of it.”
Stella lets out a hum of her own, her chair squeaking as she moves closer to your desk. “So, what now? Going to leave little old me to fend for myself while you have all the fun?” She says, wiggling her eyebrows at you that might as well imply that you’re about to slide into your superiors pants.
You scoff at that, giving her a deadpan look of your own as you knock your heel against her leg, a small giggle of hers hitting your ears as she returns to her space. “Fine, fine! I’ll stop, but you should give him an answer before it’s too late.” She suggests, standing up as she mentions something about needing more copies before she’s running off.
The day painfully passes at a slow pace, eyes becoming dry and stinging from exhaustion the more you stare at the monitor in front of you. Stella had left long before you and her being so considerate, wanted to wait for you. You rushed her out before she could protest, telling her to get rest and that you needed to finish off some last reports.
Which was a lie, you had finished all your tasks long before your shift was over. There were a few people still lingering around but for the most part, it was practically empty which gave you the time to ponder and fiddle with the sticky note in your hand.
You don’t know why it’s taking you so long to give John a proper response. Nerves heightening every time you think of the man and the way he looked at you. It’s almost embarrassing to think about your superior in such ways, shaking your head to clear any bad thoughts once Stella words repeat themselves in your ear. It was a great offer, beyond great in fact which is why there’s an annoying itch in your brain that finds the whole situation strange.
You sit around for another good minute, checking the clock only to see that you’re thirty minutes past your official departure time.
Taking a deep breath, you scoot your chair, typing out the information from the small piece of paper into your computer as you click on a small icon.
You really hope you won’t regret this decision later on.

Part Seven
It was rare for Tim to not know something.
From the mundane to the extraordinary, he always had to be the first to know.
So Melissa’s recent escapades didn’t slip under his radar, even if they registered less than a ping.
As the rows of monitors blinked with surveillance feeds, data scans, and live social media aggregators, Tim considered the grainy photos halfheartedly. Barbara sat at her command chair, typing rapidly as he sipped his mug of coffee behind her.
Leaning back, Barbara pointed out with an arched eyebrow, “See this one? Melissa Wayne spotted riding through Crime Alley on a bicycle. With some girl in cat socks. Whole city’s losing its mind.”
Tim took another sip from his mug. “Yeah. I clocked it about thirty minutes ago. Midtown cameras picked them up—she’s been with the same girl a few times now. Thrift shop, old diner, now the conservatory.”
“And? Not even remotely curious?” Barbara joked with a smirk.
“Please,” He scoffed, “Gotham latches onto any Wayne with a pulse and a hobby. It’s a media Rorschach test. People are just projecting”
“Yeah, but this is Melissa we’re talking about. No offense, but she's not exactly popular. Specially in the media”
“It’s noise, Babs. A bored city sees a couple photos and gets excited. Unless she suddenly manifests laser eyes or starts dating a Falcone, it’s not mission-critical.”
Barbara, still typing, narrows her eyes slightly at the screen, “Uh huh. And what if it is something? That building they went into tonight—zoning says it hasn’t been structurally sound in over a decade. Can’t imagine any reason they’d go there”
He sighs and sets down his mug before inquiring “What? You think it’s a hidden op or something?”
“I think Melissa has never done anything unpredictable in her life–until now. And it might be because of that girl”
She paused suddenly. This didn’t go unnoticed by Tim, as he watched her pull up the footage of a Midtown surveillance camera. The screen displayed a paused image: Melissa on the back of a bike, smiling. It was a soft sort of smile, one that Tim couldn’t remember off the top of his head and that left him somewhat uneasy. The girl pedaling throws a glance over her shoulder, eyes sharp, grin crooked.
“...She looked at the camera,” Tim frowned slightly.
“Now you’re curious?” Barbara chuckled.
“Curious, maybe, but not concerned”
When Melissa gently eased herself through the crack of the front door, she paused for a moment and looked back over her shoulder. Even from the distance covering the front gate of Wayne Estate and the front porch, she could see you pedaling down the paved path.
A small childish part of her wanted to call out to you, but she bit her tongue. Instead she pacified herself with the promise you made:
“I’m gonna be honest with you Mel, it’ll probably take a bit before I’m “gala-ready”. But I swear I will be before we go, alright?”
The gala was still weeks away, but you looked so sincere that Melissa couldn’t do anything but believe you.
So, still wind tousled, Melissa turned back to enter the manor. A small smile, secretive yet content graced her face. Her fingertips gently brushed the scrunchie tied snuggly around her wrist.
That is until she saw Damian, seated at the base of the grand staircase, arms folded, shadowed by the low amber light of the chandelier. His posture was still, but coiled. Watching.
Melissa felt her smile drop.
“You’re late” He said it like she was inconveniencing him.
She blinked slowly at him which only made him grow more exasperated.
“I didn’t know you were waiting for me” She answered cautiously but truthfully, slinking closer as if not to startle him.
Damian rolled his eyes, “It’s not normal for you to be out this late. Or to be that close to Crime Alley”
Her eyes widened, “How did–”
“Please, did you think your little escapades went without notice? Those morons in the media are fixated on the two of you.”
She recoiled at his mention of you. You weren’t supposed to be in their sights.
Not yet, anyway.
Melissa fidgeted under his gaze, idly twisting the hair tie on her wrist.
“I didn’t think it’d upset you that much”
“I’m not upset. I’m alert.”
A pause grew between the two siblings before she sighed. It was that typical pitiful sigh, like she bore all the weight of the world’s brudens.
That same annoying sigh.
“I’m sorry I worried you.” She said it in such a rehearsed way, “I just went out with…with a friend”
“I wasn’t worried,” He stressed. “I was concerned for the Wayne name and how your actions would affect it.”
Melissa nodded as if she understood, but he knew she wasn’t listening. Her eyes were glazed over and stared at him as if he was a clueless child. It irked him even more.
“You. You’re hiding something”
That seemed to grab her attention. Her eyes flicked to meet his, even if they still looked forlorn.
“...isn’t everyone?” She acquiesced, in a hushed voice.
Another pause followed before he stood and pivoted in place. As he ascended the stairs, Damian stated flatly.
“Whatever it is, keep it to yourself. Don’t be a nuisance”
While he climbed, he added.
“To us, or her”
Watching him walk off, Melissa’s face remained fixed.
Her thoughts, however, quickly curdled.
“Damn brat” Hissed in the back of her head when she reached her room.
It was rather simple to play the pitiful, hopeless forgotten daughter. It made her unassuming. No one would think twice about what she did. However, that paranoid cretin seemed hellbent on ruining that. Melissa knew her ploy never worked on him, yet she could not drop it. Out of habit or pride, she continued the charade around him.
But, still, Damian didn’t think much of her. Even now, he likely saw her acting out as a sort of rebellious phase.
That could work.
“A quiet, rebellious girl keeping odd company”, was something that she could play.
Just until she could hit them where it hurt.
A/N: I am legit so tired. If this wasn't that good, I'm not in a great headspace rn. I just wanted to post something for yall this week.

How the world's leading breach expert got phished

I'm on a 20+ city book tour for my new novel PICKS AND SHOVELS. Catch me in PITTSBURGH on May 15 at WHITE WHALE BOOKS, and in PDX on Jun 20 at BARNES AND NOBLE. More tour dates here.
If you can't spot the sucker at the poker table, you're the sucker. Also, if you think you can't get phished, you're the sucker.
I've been successfully scammed six times in my life. Each time, the scam relied on the confluence of several factors that yielded a fleeting moment of vulnerability that some scammer was able to exploit by being in the right place at the right time. I had to be lucky always, they only had to be lucky once.
The first time I got scammed was in 2008, on my first trip to India. As I walked toward the Mumbai airport taxi queue at 2AM, I was approached by two uniformed airport security guards who told me that the taxi rank had been moved in the wake of a recent terrorist bombing in Islamabad, which had resulted in all the regional airports going on high alert. The bombing was real, the airport high alerts were real. The security guards – not real. They were scammers, working with a fake cab that charged me $200 for a $20 taxi ride.
I got scammed again this way in Shanghai, at the Pudong taxi-rank. I was with my wife, daughter and parents and we split into two cabs and the drivers colluded to turn off their meters and charge us extremely high cash fares, dropping us across the street from our hotel so we couldn't enlist the doorman to interpret. Again, it was very late at night, things were confusing, and we'd had to wait for more than an hour for the cab, so we were exhausted and sweaty and divided into two groups so we couldn't coordinate strategy.
Then there was the time I got successfully phished by a Twitter account takeover worm:
https://locusmag.com/2010/05/cory-doctorow-persistence-pays-parasites/
That was also a miracle of timing – for the scammers. I got hit on a day when I was running late, when I'd just reinstalled my phone's OS and was being prompted for my passwords all over again, when I had just done a bunch of major publishing and was getting a lot of messages about my new articles. When a friend got infected by a worm that took over his account and messaged me, "Is this you?" with a link that took me to a webpage that asked me to log back into Twitter, I re-entered my password. If I'd been five minutes later in getting to that DM, I would have seen three more identical messages from other infected friends and twigged to the scam. But I just happened to look at my phone in the two-minute window when the scam wasn't self-evident, and I just happened to be distracted and flustered about running late, and I just happened to have had some life circumstances that made the generic phishing lure seem plausible.
In 2023, I got scammed by a fake restaurant. I was on the couch with a friend from out of town who'd come by to watch a movie. We were chatting and decided to order from our local Thai restaurant. The top result on Google was a paid ad (marked out with the word "ad" in 8-point, grey-on-white type) that had a plausible domain name, which led to a replica of my local place's menu, only with the prices set 15% higher. I didn't even notice – not until the restaurant called me to say that they'd had a flood of orders from these scammers, who charged their customers' credit cards 15% over the odds, then placed an order for delivery using their own credit card numbers. I ended up contesting the charge with Amex, getting the scammers' Wix and credit card accounts canceled, and shaming Google into blocking their ads:
https://nypost.com/2023/02/25/cory-doctorow-duped-by-fake-thai-restaurant-scam/
Then there's the guy who used leaked data from my credit union to impersonate their fraud department, calling me up and social-engineering me out of the last seven digits of my card number (not the last four, as is common – most banks use the same nine-digit prefix, so the final seven digits are all you need to derive the whole card number). The scammer called right after I used two dodgy ATMs in New Orleans, during my last hour in town when I was rushing around to get my most favorite sandwich in the world before leaving. It was the day that a Boeing 737 Max lost its door-plug so the airport was a zoo and we barely made the flight, so I lost the hour I'd planned to use to call the bank's fraud department back. Again: if, if, if. If he'd called an hour earlier – or later. If there hadn't been a giant aviation disaster. If I hadn't been traveling. The scammer had to get lucky once, I had to be lucky every time:
https://pluralistic.net/2024/02/05/cyber-dunning-kruger/#swiss-cheese-security
I got scammed again last Christmas week. I was in NYC with my wife and daughter and I'd gotten great tickets to see The Outsiders on Broadway. It was my kid's first musical and to her surprise, she loved it. In the cab back to the friend's place we were staying at, we talked about what other musicals she might want to see. She loves South Park, and I'd seen banners advertising The Book of Mormon (which was created by the same people) in LA. So I looked up "book of mormon tickets los angeles" on my phone in the cab and found the production's website and ordered the tickets, working quickly in the cab because it was one of those websites that has a countdown timer so you have to finish your transaction in five minutes.
It wasn't the real Book of Mormon website. It was a scam website, reselling Book of Mormon tickets at a 200%+ markup. That fact was noted in infinitesimal writing on the main screen, which I missed in the crowded taxi backseat while I raced the countdown timer. I figured it out about 20 seconds after the transaction cleared, and immediately emailed the vendor to cancel it. All I got was a series of smug "all transactions final" emails from outsource customer service reps (in the end, I was able to get my credit card issuer to reverse the transaction, but it took months). But yeah, I got scammed by a sleazy company called "Bigstub." Fuck those guys.
Every time I got scammed, the con that got me was nearly identical to a con that I'd avoided on numerous occasions. The fact that I'm actually pretty good at spotting this kind of hustle, 99.9% of the time, didn't mean I was immune it it. It just meant that I was vulnerable under very special circumstances, and those very special circumstances do crop up from time to time.
This is the most important lesson of scams: that no matter how well-attuned you are to cons, you can still be conned. The belief that you are immune to a con actually makes you a mark. It's for that reason that I recount the tales of how I got scammed – to help other people understand that being sophisticated, alert and even paranoid is no guarantee that you will be safe.
I'm not the only person for whom a detailed knowledge of scams created immunity from being scammed. Troy Hunt is the proprietor of HaveIBeenPwned.com, the internet's most comprehensive and reliable breach notification site. Hunt pretty much invented the practice of tracking breaches, and he is steeped – saturated – in up-to-the-minute, nitty-gritty details of how internet scams work.
Guess who got phished?
https://www.troyhunt.com/a-sneaky-phish-just-grabbed-my-mailchimp-mailing-list/
Hunt had just gotten off a long-haul flight. He was jetlagged. He got a well-constructed, plausible counterfeit email from Mailchimp telling him that his mailing-list – which he absolutely relies upon – had been frozen after a spam complaint, and advising him to click on a link to contest the suspension. He was taken to a fake login screen that his password manager didn't autopopulate, so he manually pasted the password in (Mailchimp doesn't have 2FA). It was only when the login session hung that he realized he'd been scammed – and by then, it was too late. Within minutes, his mailing list had been exported by the scammers.
In his postmortem of the scam, Hunt identifies the overlapping factors that made him vulnerable. He was jetlagged. The mailing list was important. Bogus spam complaints are common. Big corporate sites like Mailchimp often redirect their logins through different domains, which causes password manager autofill to fail. Hunt had experienced near-identical phishing attempts before and spotted them, but this one just happened to land at the very moment that he was vulnerable. Plus – as with my credit union scam – it seems likely that Mailchimp itself had been breached (or has an insider threat), which allowed the scammers to pad out the scam with plausible details that made it seem legit.
Hunt's forensics on the scam are very interesting. Of especial note is the fact that Mailchimp had retained the email addresses of thousands of former subscribers who had already unsubscribed, meaning that their data was exposed as well. It's not clear why Mailchimp would do this, but I will note that the company is extraordinarily spammer-friendly and goes to great lengths to make it easy for spammers to add you to their lists, and impossible to get off of all those lists;
https://pluralistic.net/2024/07/22/degoogled/#kafka-as-a-service
Getting scammed doesn't mean you were stupid, or careless. Frequently, it just means you were distracted, upset, or distraught. We're living through a moment of total, all-consuming chaos, and the scammers are sharpening their blades – not least because the people running the show are unabashed grifters who openly boast that when they get one over on you, "that makes me smart":
https://pluralistic.net/2024/12/04/its-not-a-lie/#its-a-premature-truth
Buyer beware – it's ugly out there, and it's gonna get a lot worse before it gets better.

Ryan Burge at Graphs About Religion:
I’ve got two sons - one is thirteen and the other is ten. I remember when my wife and I were thinking about having children, we talked all the time about the best type of birthing plan (I distinctly remember becoming intimately aware of something called the cascade of intervention). Then it was breastfeeding versus bottle feeding and cloth diapers versus disposable diapers. It felt like it was consuming most of our conversations for a period of time. You just want to make sure that you are making the best decisions for your children so that they can hopefully grow up to be decent, productive human beings. Then we went through the preschool stage. How often should we send them? What school is best for their needs? That was certainly a rousing debate in our household. Then, public school vs private school - why wife is Catholic, after all. It seems like there’s no end to all the decisions parents have to face and every life stage gives way to another set of questions that don’t have any easy answers.
Now we are in the phase of cell phones, screen time, and socialization. The best way that I can describe my goals for my boys is that they don’t become the weirdos who have no understanding of pop culture but are also not glued to their screens every waking moment. Good luck finding that balance. There’s an empirical reason for my concern - the data about the social lives of high school students is incredibly bleak and honestly makes me very worried for the next generation. Let me show you what I mean by generating a handful of graphs from this great dataset called Monitoring the Future. They’ve been asking questions of 8th, 10th, and 12th graders since the mid-1970s. What an amazing way to track what teenagers are doing with their time over the last couple of decades. Let me start by focusing on a question that asks high school seniors how often they go on dates in a typical month. In 1995, the vast majority of seniors were going on dates several times a month. In this data, just about one third of them said that they were going on zero or one date per month. Between 1995 and 2010, the share who dated very little rose to just below 50%. Let’s call that an increase of 15 points in about 15 years. From 2010 through 2021, the share who barely went on dates rose to 72%. That’s an increase of 22 points in just 11 years. In other words, the rate doubled in recent years. But I know what you are going to say - COVID explains some of it. Yes, I agree with you - there was a noticeable decrease in dating frequency during 2021 and 2022. But in 2010, 48% of 12th graders were dating rarely. In 2019, it was 63%. That’s a fifteen point jump in just nine years. That cannot be explained by a global pandemic. Dating among high school seniors slowed significantly during the 2010s. Now, what’s interesting about that to me is that between 1995 and 2021, religion among high school seniors also fell off a cliff. A very workable theory is that religious organizations can have a suppressing effect on romantic relationships between teenagers. If that hypothesis was true then we should see dating rise as we see religion decline. But we see the exact opposite.
[...]
Another question in Monitoring the Future asks how often 12th graders go out for fun or recreation in a typical week. That’s about as generic as it gets. This data points in the same general direction as the prior analysis. In 1995, just 22% of high school seniors were hanging out with their friends no more than once a week. That figure did creep up just a little bit in the next 15 years, but not by much. In 2010, it was up to 26% - an increase of just four points in fifteen years. Certainly a worrying trajectory but definitely a very slow moving trendline. By 2012, that figure moved to 30%, and it was up to 35% by 2014 and only continued to climb from there. Even before the pandemic hit, it was just above 40%. In 23 years, the share of teens who barely hung out with their friend nearly doubled. In the data collected during 2020 and 2021, the figure was exactly the same - 46%. Yes, there was a noticeable decrease in socialization due to the pandemic, but it was only five percentage points. I just don’t know how you can look at this graph and not think that this has a lot to do with the rise of the smartphone. It took 18 years to go from 22% to 32%. Then it took five years to go from 32% to 41%. What else could explain this increase? Anyone who says that social media has connected us more is just not facing the facts. Young people are not using all their messaging apps to arrange opportunities to hang out in real life, they are just seemingly content to digitally communicate.
[...] The one big takeaway for me is that those who never attend religious services are also the least likely to do other types of socializing. That makes sense, logically. One type of socializing is related to another type of socializing. Going to church means you are often given the opportunity to hang out with other kids in the youth group on another day of the week. That happened a lot when I was a teenager. But I do want to highlight the fact that never attenders really became an outlier on this metric around 2014 or so. It seems like there was a clear “socializing gap” that began to emerge about ten years ago. As I’ve written a dozen times - dropping out begets dropping out. [...] I want to point two things out that I think are crucial about this graph. The first is that the average high school senior is just incredibly less social in 2022 compared to a 12th grader from the 1990s. It’s at least 3-4 fold increase in the share who are completely antisocial. Kids aren’t hanging out. But the other thing is that religious attendance does make a difference here. The 12th graders who are the least social are those who never attend religious services. The ones who are the most social are those who attend religious services on a monthly basis. Hanging out begets hanging out. I am going to be clear on this - church is not some type of panacea to get kids to be more social, but it certainly doesn’t hurt.
Ryan Burge wrote in Graphs About Religion the very disturbing trend of growing anti-social sentiments in high schools.

I am feral for fake dating au and alley boyfriends goes so hard, I am on my hands and knees begging for a part 3
Tim's afternoon meeting gets canceled due to three of the members coming down with the flu. Usually, he would have just sent them a recording of what they missed, but since the three were presenting and the meeting was meant to be with the five department heads, he feels it would be best to reschedule.
There was only so much HR could report to him, after all. This meant he had the entire afternoon off.
Tim usually uses the free time he finds himself with to get a head start on other work. Maybe even some crake some cases. But today, he knew Danny was off from his job. His roommate was likely at home watching that new show he really got into.
Last night, he explained the entire plot over their dinner- Danny came from one of those families that always ate dinner at the same time- and went as far as to reveal fun facts he learned about the production team in charge of his show.
Tim didn't understand why Danny was so excited to know the lighting effects used only for a particular character. Nor did he find it as fascinating.
However, watching him get excitable was endearing enough that he listened to the whole thing. Then, he sat down to watch the show, finding it adorable that Danny couldn't stop speaking to the screen as if the characters could hear him.
Tim stares at his computer screen, trying his best to get himself to focus. The data sheets needed some work, but he had two weeks to complete it, and he really wasn't in the mood to verify so much work if he wasn't completely focused.
He glances at the clock, watching the little red hand tick. He insisted on having a face clock in his office instead of just having an electrical one because he found the ticking sound comforting.
Now, it merely annoyed him. That only happens when he's been trapped inside the office for too long or gone out as Red Robin so much he neglected his Tim Drake side. He could take the afternoon off, but what fun would that be?
He had also been trapped at home for a long time, working remotely whenever he could. Tim wanted to go out, but he didn't want to do that alone.
It would be so dull to just go to the same places on his lonesome as it would be sitting in his office or in his room. He could play video games or watch a movie with his roommate, but it wasn't the same of getting outside for a little while
His eyes landed on his cell phone. He could call Danny and ask if he wanted to go out today, but he had no idea what to do. He could take Danny shopping again- apparently, his roommate had no actual use for suits at his barista job, so the two had gone to the mall and gotten him some jeans and t-shirts, but the other seemed tired of that the last time.
Tim didn't want to spend money at the movies either because he wanted to do something active. The problem was that Danny hated spots with a passion and wasn't one for hiking or walking. They could go to a place to eat, but going out just for food wasn't something they could fill a whole afternoon with, not to mention Gotham's cold wave had most of the hang-out places closed until summer.
How hard was it to think of something to do in a city this big?
His eyes shift over to his computer before he caves. He quickly changes the docking station on his work computer to his personal laptop, eyes dancing between his two monitors.
He types into the search engine Where to take your roommate in Gotham City.. The first result is a list of locations, but Tim finds that they are all well-known tourist places, which is something he would rather avoid. He's just not up for a big crowd.
The following result is restaurants to try, which again isn't enough to fill the entire afternoon with- he notes to visit the ramen place because Danny mentioned he wanted to have some three days ago. He grows irritated with the similar lists he clicks until he stumbles across a new store that opened only a week ago.
It's new enough that most people don't know about it, which means they could enjoy a fun new activity since it is a random Tuesday.
Tim checks the store times, confirms that they could be there for a few hours and then reaches for his phone. Three taps later, a dull ringing sounds in his ear as he waits for Danny to answer.
Initially, he didn't want to go shopping, but he thought Danny would enjoy this shop more than any clothes store.
"Yellow?" Danny chirps in his ear, warm and bright. His voice reminds him of the comfortable nights when he's brewing Tim a lovely London Fog Late.
At once, Tim feels himself relaxed. "Hey, Danny. I have the afternoon off. I was wondering if you wanted to hang out?"
"Oh, sure! What do you want to do?"
Tim looks up at the screen. "How would you like to go to a place that lets you design your own succulent and offers an entire room filled with decorations to personalize it?
"I'll be ready in fifteen minutes!" Danny shouts the sound of crashes accompanying his voice as he likely leaps from the couch. "How expensive is it?"
"Oh, don't worry about that. I'll pay for everything." Tim tells Danny just as Tam and three interns wander into his office. He holds up a finger at them, listening to Danny loudly proclaim he wants to be the one to treat Tim.
It's sweet, but Tim had so much money he didn't know what to do. Danny was saving up to buy his own car- and the last time Tim offered to buy him one, his roommate had refused to make him the Red Robin Rush for a week.
"Don't worry about money, Danny. Just get dressed, and tonight, you can make it up to me the usual way." He says, feeling a slow, smug smile spread across his face as Danny rushes to the coffee station to check through the tea they had.
"I'll do something even better. It's a new trick I picked up, but it's guaranteed to keep you up all night." Danny tells him as he fumbles with his clothes- likely changing- which is loud enough to echo from his phone speakers. An intern shifts, uncomfortable on his feet.
Tam raises an impressed eyebrow, which, for some reason, makes Tim slightly embarrassed. His face turns a bit red as he hastily tells his roommate. "I should be picking you up in an hour."
"Wait, what do I wear for this? I will not repeat O'malley's."
Tim's face turns redder at the reminder of last week's blunder. It wasn't his fault that what he considered casual clothes were what Danny thought were formal. He told the man to meet him at the restaurant after work, not considering it upscale since it was only served dinner, and once again, Danny's outfit had him stopped at the door by a worker who didn't think he was dressed the part.
"Just wear that outfit I like. The blue one." He tells him about the black sweatshirt with blue stripes and a fluffy black and blue sweater. It was the warmest, most stylish thing Danny women meant for streetwear, and he knew it would be a bit chilly in the evening.
"Alright. See you soon. Text me when you are outside. Byeeeee"
"Bye," Tim hangs up and offers the three interns and impressed secretary a sheepish look. "Sorry about that. How can I help you?"
Tam steps forward, waving a hand at the two young men and single women older than him by a few years. They straighten up as his PA speaks. "I just wanted to introduce the interns that start tomorrow; it won't take more than five minutes if you have to be somewhere soon."
"It's lovely to meet you all. " Tim smiles, ignoring the wide-eyed stare the one on the left is giving him. The introductions don't take long at all, but Tim still feels restless when he grabs his coat and rushes past Tam's empty desk. He leaves a note on her desk telling her he took the afternoon off and practically skips down to the parking garage.
He is unaware of the rumors circulating among his employees after a particular intern on the left let it slip he overheard Mr. Drake talking to his lover like their relationship was....like that. He is even more unaware that the second he picks up Danny from the front of their building, five shadows break into his penthouse and search the place for any drugs.
He is too busy picking out crystals with his roommate, who babbles about their effects on ghosts, memorized by his silly random knowledge again.
Meanwhile, Bruce is horrified to find some green liquid in the second bedroom. He's not sure why Tim or Danny have to separate rooms if they truly are lovers, but the fact this was hidden in the room by the other boy gives Jason's idea of Tim living with his dealer aan uncomfortable amount of credit.
He returned a sample to the Cave when his other children reported nothing. They refrained from planting any bugs just because Tim would find them, and it would stop him from trusting them should they have to give him a proper introduction.
Upon conducting some tests, despite the similar appearance to the Lazarus pits, results showed it's closer to the formula of Mr. Freeze's ice ray but in liquid form.
Why would Fenton hide this? What was he up to? Did Tim know that Fenton had cut an entire part of the wall to hide jars and jars of this goo?
#dcxdpdabbles#dcxdp crossover#Alley Boyfriends#Part 5#Tim and Danny are not helping the rumors#Guess who forgot that this was just to throw off his family scent and has yet to introduce his family?#Danny likes plants and crystals#Tim is finding a better work and life balance#Tim could listen to Danny ramble for hours#Remember Danny is hiding his powers#Bruce is getting closer

BLUE LOCK X READER
"Can he pass the "Orange peel" test?"
Characters : Isagi Yoichi, Itoshi Sae, Karasu Tabito, Bachira Meguru
Content : A scenario in which you ask them for an orange and ask them to peel it for you— seeing how willing they are to do acts of services.
Disclaimer : Some of you readers may be sensitive, so prepare yourself for things you might not expect like harshness in some characters
SET : I set the scenario where you and the (character) have dated for 2 years, but kaiser is not healed. Sae might come off as cold, rin might seem detached or some other traits that you might deem as a red flag. So read at your own accord, taking this warning into consideration. I won't add a description of what type of personality reader is for everyone to feel welcome.
Note : I am glad ya'll enjoyed the previous scenarios, now let us explore more. Take it into consideration that when you guys send me requests or asks, you can freely set the setting to however you'd like, if you'd like it if it is set into a time where kaiser is healed, or sae and rin have opened up, which might take ages if done slowly. Or when isagi haven't met you so he isn't in love with you, and so on and so forth with other characters. Now enjoy.
Isagi Yoichi - he would
I am sure it doesn't come off as much of a surprise if someone like Isagi would do this act of affection. For him, it might even be natural— his way of showcasing how much he cares for you. If this was set at a time where you just started dating, he would feel flustered and might even mess up a bit, but for Isagi, this act would be a symbolism of how he is willing to do anything to minimize your workload as well as please you.
Yoy two are spending some time on the couch, intitially planning to watch tv, and not let any interruptions occur. However, you had a different plan in mind. Isagi was invested in the movie and glances at you from time to time to check your reactions. Until you asked for an orange, which draws his eyes to you— away from the tv now. You repeated your request as it sinks into his mind. He chuckles lightly— an apology exiting his mouth, from how he didnt hear you the first time.
You asked for an orange and he wouldn't even question it, just thinking you might be tired as he makes his way to the kitchen. After grabbing an orange, he walks towards you then stretches his hand out to give it to you, you didn't reach out for it and instead asked him to peel it. Isagi might feel confused at first but would happily do it, seeing this as a sign of affection rather than a workload.
(Isagi's part is short, because he does it no hesitation and no complaints)
Itoshi Sae - he would begrudgingly do it
The fact that you were able to handle him for 2 years, much less get into a relationship means he can see you in his future, or you managed to really convince him that you won't get in the way of his plans and goals. Which is amazing in its own way— since it might've took you years to get him convinced. So you might already be aware that he won't give in to such pointless acts of affection. But you tried it anyway, since he isn't really always present, so why not make the most of it?
You two were just sitting on his couch. Yes— his couch. You never brought up the idea of living together since Sae seems to really like his space. And even if he secretly wanted to, you can't see him telling you about it or bringing up the idea. You are watching TV, eyes darting to whatever he is working on— eyes meeting some soccer data stuff on his laptop which is rested on his lap. You waited for a while, and there he goes. Sae places his laptop on the center table as his body relaxes, leaning more on the back of the couch— looking at whatever you were watching.
You called out his name, followed by your requests— an orange. You can see him squinting his eyes a little at your odd request, since normally you would get it yourself, but with a sigh, he stands up and heads to the kitchen. He grabs an orange and goes back to you sitting on the couch, looking at him with anticipating eyes— the upcoming second request reluctantly but successfully leaving your mouth. "Can you peel it for me?" You ask.
"Why can't you peel it yourself?" Sae questions you. Despite him intentionally trying to not sound mean, he genuinely wants to know why— his question coming from a place of pure confusion rather than a harsh reply. You might just sigh to yourself, feeling upset and grab the orange to peel it yourself till he raises his hand— keeping you from taking the orange away. And with a big sigh, he decides to sit down and peel it. But the situation is confusing for him; why couldn't you peel it yourself? He questions himself. In the end, he peels it but instead of it coming from a place of care, his decision to peel it comes from a place of "obligation". He felt the need to peel it, since he sees it as something he "needs" to do rather than "want" to do.
(It would be a surprise that he would peel his orange for you. If he never was your boyfriend, he wouldn't see the need to do it, nor the care)
Karasu Tabito - he would
For Karasu, doing something as peeling an orange might be a natural thing for him, he sees it both as something he needs and also wants to do. How he would do stuff for his partner is a sign of genuine care and affection, rather than pure obligation.
The room was quite dark. The curtains closed— the only source of light is emitted from the tv. Both you and Karasu are having a movie night, and the atmosphere was peaceful and quiet. You didn't want bother him with this, but you wanted to try it out on him; though you have a rough idea of how he might respond.
You asked for an orange, and he looks at you with his eyebrows raised, and no question— he stands up and goes to the kitchen to grab one for you. You looked at him with a smile, perhaps already knowing this is how he'd respond. And he sits back on the couch, handing it to you. He notices your silence, and has an idea on what would come next. And thus, he pulled back his outstretched hand, already peeling the orange before you could open your mouth and ask which surprised you. After he peeled it, he gave it to you as if it was the most normal thing to do, and at that moment you are reminded of why you chose to be with him— eating the orange with a small smile.
(I feel like if you really mattered to him so much, he would literally read your mind. He is smart after all, he can read body languages)
Bachira Meguru - he would be more than happy to
For Bachira, this act of peeling an orange for someone is a natural act of love. He would see it as a natural thing to do and he'd do it, no complaints. If he hands you the orange, he might even ask you if you want him to peel it, wanting to please you with acts of services.
You could be spending some time together in the living room, watching a movie. Bachira would feel more excited about spending time with you rather than the Movie. Might even let you pick the movie, and if you want him to watch something in particular, he would watch and comment on each scenes, would gladly let you talk too and explain to him about stuff regarding the movie. He would switch from looking at the movie, then to you, then the movie then to you, having fun with the feeling of watching something with another person, which is quite different to what he is usually used to.
Now if you asked him for an orange, he would no doubt say "okay!" And immediately do your request. He wouldn't see it as something to complain about, but rather it is something that he wants to do for you since to him, you are special. It wouldn't take long for the orange to arrive, and he gives it to you, and to your surprise, he would even ask to peel it for you.
It makes you smile how you don't need to voice out your needs since he already does the things you want him to do without needing you to voice it out.
( I see Bachira as one of those types that will feel the need to make themselves feel needed by their partner in some way, especially if he views his partner as someone he doesn't deserve, or a person that cures him of his loneliness)

Hope everyone enjoys this scenario! Had fun making it, but had a hard time a little bit from portraying their characters while still staying true to their personalities.

| I am my fathers daughter | 9 |

💖Dad!Price & Daughter!reader, eventual Soap x reader.
PART NINE: John Price hasn’t seen or heard from his daughter in over a year, but that changes when she calls him one night asking for help. 2.6k+words
[18+] MDNI | TW: hurt/angst/mentions of abuse/ complicated father-daughter relationship/ mentions of drug use
Previous parts of -> [Series Masterlist]
🔈Readers view of John is different, he’s come and gone in her life etc so she thinks he’s not that great. So don’t send me hate
The first of November, you stare at the bank balance on the cash machine. Is this the amount the Captain was sending your mum each month?? No wonder she never gave you a penny. If your mum gave it to you growing up you wouldn’t have struggled so much. Maybe even left a lot sooner than you did. Not that you dared asking for that money, she claimed it was just enough to cover a roof over your head and food in your belly. Never mind the latest man she sponged off and didn’t need to pay rent.
She seemed to always have cigarettes, never going without, whereas you did go without. You had to beg her to buy you new clothes or shoes for school and even then you had to earn it. Going with her to her early morning cleaning job before starting school. You could still smell the bleach on your hands through out the day no matter how hard you scrubbed them in between lessons.
It’s your third day at your new job, every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday you’re in the office inputting data. Staring at a computer screen and typing numbers into software. Easy enough with a little training on your first day. You still needed to wait to get paid on last Friday of the month, joining after the cut off date to get the three days you’re working this week. So the money from the Captain would come in handy with buying some new clothes for work till you got your first pay.
Maybe even give him back his tired old jacket that still hung from your shoulders.
You pry your bank card out of the machine and tuck it back into your purse, then your handbag. The Captain helped you set up an app on your phone to check your money, but you still couldn’t believe the amount and had to look on the machine around the corner from work. A second look doesn’t hurt.
It’s dark, the street lamps dull as they warm to a golden hue. You’d stayed behind an extra hour to sort through some data and take the pressure off the team you’re now part of. It’d be foolish to withdraw money in the evening, especially on your own.
So you circle back round the building, halting at the figure standing beside your dad’s old truck. Your mother checking her reflection in the window, fingers wiping the smudge of lipstick on her front tooth. You wonder if there’s enough time for you to retreat, find the nearest bus stop and go back that way.
Luck has never been on your side though as her head snaps to you. Her hands waving above her head as if you couldn’t see her, you wished it were just a mirage.
“There’s my girl.” Yeah when it suits her. When she wants something.
Lena Marston, your mother. If only you could divorce her too like your father.
She’s tall, slim build thanks to her diet of cigarettes and cans of coke. Her eyes rake up and down your form and you know exactly what she’s thinking. How you’ve filled out, cheekbones no longer sharp but now full, healthy.
“What do you want, Lena.” You don’t bother calling her mum, she doesn’t act like one. If anything you're the one caring for her, picking her up whenever she's decided to kick the latest guy to the kerb. Putting her to bed when she's drunk, laying next to her incase she chokes on her own vomit. Or worse flushing the little baggies of drugs down the toilet and convincing her she already had it all.
Least she’s not twitching, no bloodshot eyes or hurried movements. Her speech controlled, no slur.
She pulls the lapel of your jacket, well your father’s old brown cord one. “I remember this,” Lena says, twisting the thick fabric in her grasp and you closer. You try not to wince, glancing to the passerby's who are glued to their phones as they walk. She won't do anything now. Her hand digs into your pocket and the truck keys dangle from her pointer finger. Lena's signature sharp red nails scraping against the inside of your wrist as you try to snatch them back.
"I'm really not in the mood," you regret the words as soon as you say them, her tongue clicking and head shaking.
Rookie mistake, say nothing and just do whatever she asks. It’ll be over a lot faster then.
Lena shoves you towards the passenger door, “get in sweetie,” she says and you cringe internally at the rare term of endearment she throws at you. A smile playing on her lips as she bats her lashes at the man looking your way. Nothing a pretty face wouldn’t fix, she always said that beauty lets you get away with a lot of things. Shame you don’t have it - also her words.
“You’re not insured…” you muttered under your breath, knowing she wouldn’t listen to reason. You sidestep the door as she opens it for you.
She leans on the truck, “you either get in or I take it. Can’t imagine it’d be nice for you to explain that to the Captain.”
You don’t want to get in, but you do to make it easier for the Captain not you. Can’t have his beloved truck taken away or worse in a ditch, you wouldn’t put it past Lena. You’re used to going along with what she wants to make life easier, but it doesn’t seem like it is for you.
Lena slams the drivers door, truck shaking and all you could hear in your head was the captain yelling don’t slam the bloody doors. The engine stutters to a start on the third try and you lurch forward in your seat as she speeds off down the road.
“Phone.” Lena orders, in a tone that suggests she’s now in charge, she’s the Captain and you better do as she asks. She’s already rummaging in the bag on your lap, other hand on the steering wheel. The contents falling down to the footwell, car swerving as she tries to catch it.
“Just drive!” You yell, pointing to the road in front. She swats you away, stinging slap to back of your hand. You lean down, collecting your notepad and purse, lip balm stuffing it back into your bag. The screen of your phone lights up as you picked it up, Kyle texting you to remind you about tomorrow.
“Of course he got you a new phone, bet he made you keep the location on. Classic captain controlling everyone around him - turn it off.”
Shit, had you really let your guard down that much? Was he checking his phone now and seeing if you were on track, you should be halfway to the house by now. You’d always toggled it on and off, never leaving it on for too long. Even your mum didn’t know where you were ninety five percent of the time.
You turn off the location, eyes flitting out the window at the trees blurring past. The industrial town you were only just starting to memorise gone and you had no idea where you were going now. Your hand clutches the panel of the door, the speedometer on the dashboard pushing higher than you thought possible for the old relic. If she doesn’t crash the truck, you’re sure she’ll run it into the ground.
Lena chuckles, “I warned ya’ what he’s like. Never listen eh.”
You don’t bother answering, knowing either way you’d piss her off. Best to let her ramble on, she likes the sound of her own voice. Hopefully she’ll finally get to the reason she’s ambushed you too. The damned phone location royally screwing you over with both of your parents. You’ll leave that turned off from now on.
“And you wonder why people lose their patience with you. Maybe if you listened you wouldn’t be in this mess,” she said, as if this instance is the excuse for every little thing she’s thrown at you.
Mess, you’re not sure which part of your life she’s talking about or how the conversation managed to turn round on you. A teaching moment that has you leaning as far as you can away from her.
“What da- the captain?” You nearly slip up, but Lena’s too sharp and the corner of her lip tugs. She’s got you now.
“Are you really that dense?” Lena tuts, “I’m talking about Tyler, that boys done nothing but be there for you and you can’t even apologise.”
You scoff. “Apologise? He’s the one -,”
Lena shakes her head, indicator ticking in sync with the click of her tongue. She pulls into the lay-by on a country road. Nothing but the lights of the truck shining the way. Her seatbelt unclasps and she flings it over her shoulder, shifting her body in the seat to face you.
“You’ve always been so difficult you know that?” She hums, plucking your shiny new phone out of your grasp. You don’t fight it though, never worth it. “Tyler knew how to handle you, so what he drinks a bit.” A lot, he drinks a lot.
You’ve said the exact same thing to her, sobbed at her that she’s difficult and only makes your life harder, but it’s normally when she’s in a drunken haze. Even as a kid she told you that you were difficult to love, why else would the Captain leave you behind? Leave you with her.
“I’m not going back.” - you don’t even want to think about what would happen if you gave in and went back to him, if you went back with her. Sometimes you do find yourself wanting to though, it’s easier when you know what to expect. And you’re still trying to figure out the Captain, least you know what you’re getting when it comes to Tyler.
“That’s why I’m here, you don’t want him coming around?” She says tapping away at your phone, reading another of Kyle’s incoming texts. “Gonna cost ya.”
Of course she’s not here for you, she’s here for that monthly stash of cash. Expected the Captain to give it to you without a second thought. Probably why she’s been flooding your phone all week trying to get you to come home on the weekend. Because you’ll have that money she so desperately relies on.
A wave of nausea rolls in your stomach, the worn leather seat creaking as Lena inches closer. Fight or flight, no you freeze like every other time.
“Come on, it’s always been mine.” She leans forward and drapes as arm around the back of your seat. “I’ll even stay out of the Captain’s way. He’ll only disappoint you sweetheart,” she says, her hand tracing your cheek and smoothing your hair back. She doesn’t stop there though, no her fingers tangle in your hair and she pulls you closer, scalp aching at the sudden tug.
Another tug and you squeeze your eyes shut trying to breathe through the pain. “Okay, okay. You can have it,” you snap, exhaling a trembling breath as she releases you from her hold. Pathetic really, how you folded so quickly. You can see it in the way she looks at you too.
You transfer the money via your phone, Lena instructing you on how, as she starts the car up, she removes a cigarette from her pocket and lights the end. The car swerves as she leans forward to spark it up again after her first failed attempt.
"You can't smoke them in here," you snap, knowing that one whiff and the captain would know that your mother had been in the car just by the lingering minty scent her of menthol cigarettes. Doesn’t matter how many air fresheners were tucked away in the glove box, none could mask the smell.
"John smokes like a chimney, leave them in here and tell him they're yours. I don't care what you do." Lena tosses the crumpled empty package in the centre console, blowing the smoke in your direction. She got what she came for and it wasn’t you.
There’s no small talk, no questions. Lena detaches from the role of mother, quick to take from you without giving. Not that you’d want anything from her anymore. Deep down you wished there were an inkling of caring, but even that comes at a price for you. Something to earn or use against you.
Lena parks outside your work again, lighting yet another cigarette before she unfastens the seatbelt and pushes the door open.
She’s half way out of the truck when you dare to ask, “was I a mistake?”
“Of course ya were.” She throws her words over her shoulder like it ain’t a devastating blow.
The door slams and it feels like it shakes you to your core. You drive back in silence, the static of the radio drowning out the thoughts in your mind, but you’re numb. Time isn’t something you’re aware of either, you seem to blink and then you’re waiting for the guy at check point to hand back your pass.
It’s late by the time you get back, you sit in the truck outside the residential house, fingers drumming against the steering wheel. There’s only one light on downstairs, you wonder if they’re all crowded in living room watching some sort of sport on the tv. You don’t think you have the courage to face the Captain. To plaster on a forced smile as he asks you about your day.
There’s no Captain though as you kick off your shoes in the porch and step into the open plan living room. No Kyle or Johnny, but there is Simon standing in the small kitchenette stirring the teabag in his cup. His gaze locks with yours and you swear he can sense the anxious ball of energy thrumming through your body. Like he knows that somethings off, a chemical off balance or some sort of explosion. There might as well have been when it comes to Lena Marston.
Your phone rings and it’s like another kick to the gut. Angie Price’s name lighting up the screen. Reminding you that you are a mistake, your little brother planned not you. You’ve never answered one of her calls and don’t plan to.
“Everthin’ alright?” Simon asks, blonde brow raising beneath the hood covering his mess of hair, skeleton teeth of his mask shifting with the move of his lips. The spoon clinks to the side of his cup as leans to the side to open the fridge and grab a carton of milk, all whilst his molten brown eyes trail your body as if looking for a problem. No he must see it, clear as day written all over you.
You avoid his gaze, “yep, just fine. A little tired,” you rambled on, rushing to the stairs before he can press any further.
In the Captain’s room however you catch your reflection in the mirror and now know why Simon asked if you were alright. Your eyes bloodshot, face puffy from the tears you’d shed on the drive home. That and the torn scrap of fabric, the gaping hole just beneath the lapel of the old cord jacket. Exactly where Lena had grabbed you by earlier.
You’re not sure why you wear the old thing. Like some sort of weighted blanket that keeps you grounded. The oversized jacket keeping you warm, a tiny part of your dad clinging to the fabric too, but it’s tainted by Lena’s minty cigarettes. That even now you don’t get to have something for yourself. Not money, nor your dad.

Meeting Sentinel HCs
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warnings: Bad language, jerk-sentinel, brief stalking, brief mention of kill
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd imagine you'd be a sweet one. You aren't the type to just defy the laws like that, you aren't bold, you don't go around causing trouble, you're obedient and kept to yourself, just how he likes it.
I like to imagine that you're just an ordinary bot, maybe a medic or something and you just caught the eye of Sentinel when you happened to be passing by. He probably told Arachnid to fetch data on you or something and has been keeping an eye out on you ever since.
I can totally see this mech stalking you from afar. One day you were carrying some medical supplies or something and just so happened to bump into some big blue chassis and everything fell. You'd then hurry up and apologize and he reaches down to help you grab the stuff and you'd look up and be like "omg."
He'd definitely say, "Oh I didn't see you there!" (yes he did) and try to crack some stupid joke or say something stupid that would make you chuckle or giggle. He'd then carry everything for you like a manly mech while still trying to hold a conversation for you.
Sentinel is a wolf in sheep's clothing. I can see him constantly trying to see you, talk to you, show off, and show his kindness and generosity to others just to try to impress you and woo you over. Once he feels he's got you hooked, he goes in for the kill.
He would constantly ask you to go out with him until you said yes. If you said no, he'd most likely threaten you and your family which would then force you to go on a date with him (asshole).
Other than that, I feel like as a sparkmate he'd be pretty sweet. He'd treat you like royalty but would be very demanding, controlling, and just all-in-all a dick face...but hey he's rich and spoils you with all the paint jobs and upgrades you want!
I guess it won't hurt to try to date him, would it?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
a/n: omggg I haven't written a fanfic in like 7 years (I'm being so serious). Seven years ago, my fanfics were ASSSSSSS and had no sense of grammar what so ever. It lowkey felt good to do this again.
I'm getting back into my transformers phase and I'm loving it. I felt the need to get this off my chest and mind.
First time ever writing on tumblr, but idk what other platform people use to read/write fanfics besides wattpad and Ao3 but I feel like people barely use that.
This was NOT proofread, if you have any critiques or anything please tell me. I take criticism seriously.
Feel free to request anything!

RESEARCH.. JUST RESEARCH.
࿐ — 𝙋𝘼𝙄𝙍𝙄𝙉𝙂 : YANDERE (Red Robin) Tim Drake x GN Reader. 𝙎𝙔𝙉𝙊𝙋𝙎𝙄𝙎 : He was scribbling in a notebook, and you wondered what he was writing. 𝙒𝙊𝙍𝘿𝘾𝙊𝙐𝙉𝙏 : 1.7k. 𝙒𝘼𝙍𝙉𝙄𝙉𝙂𝙎 : Dark. Obsessive tendencies and stalking. 𝙉𝙊𝙏𝙀𝙎 : English isn’t my first language. I don't know why this took so long. Enjoy ♡

Class had just begun, and the familiar sound of shuffling papers and low murmurs filled the air. You had recently been transferred to AP Computer Science by your mother’s request. The teacher was discussing data analysis. They turned to the whiteboard, where they had written several bullet points. “First, we need to understand data collection.”
“This is where we gather information from various sources. It’s essential to choose reliable methods. Can anyone provide an example?” A young man raised his hand, mainly focused on the notebook on his desk.
“Yes, Drake.” The teacher replied as they leaned their backside against their desk. “We could use sensors or databases.”, “Correct. Well done.” After a few minutes, you tuned out the sound of their voice. Mainly focused on taking down the notes written on the board. Your ears perked up at the mention of an assignment. The teacher’s gaze swept across the room, lingering on a few students. “Next week, you’ll begin to work on a project analyzing a dataset of your choice. You will be required to pick your own partners this week so you have the weekend to prepare.”
The students responded with a few quiet hums and the teacher ended the class like that. The room was mainly silent besides the few people speaking to ask other students to be their partners. Assuming since you were new you wouldn’t get picked, you stood up to talk to one of your random classmates only to be met by a chest slamming into your nose.
“Shit-”
You heard a familiar voice say, their hands reaching out to secure you before you fell. “Are you alright?” They asked. Once your vision cleared, you realized why it was familiar. It was the same guy that answered the teacher. “Drake?” Your mutter came out before you could stop it, he let out a dry chuckle. “Tim, actually. Drake’s my family name.” He corrected. “Sorry about that. I was just coming to ask you if you wanted to be partners since I noticed you were new.” What a coincidence, you were about to do the same thing. “Oh, well I’m lucky then. We can meet at the Gotham library later, like 5PM-ish?” You weren’t sure if he’d be okay with giving his number off to a complete stranger.
He hummed for a second, thinking if he was busy around that time. Then he nodded his head as confirmation. “It’s a date. Talk to you later, (L/N).” He said before leaving the class, phone in his hands as he typed away like crazy. You could literally hear the sound of his thumbs touching the screen from that far away. Sighing, you sat back into your desk. You decide to try finishing your homework early today so you could focus on planning for the project. You even texted your mom not to pick you up since you would be meeting with Tim later. When you were done, you stood up to go for a walk to the cafeteria. Maybe you could get some coffee to stay awake. All AP classes were no joke, you were a little annoyed at your mom for forcing you to go to them so suddenly. While you were smart, you weren’t exactly a fan of school. You just did what you had to do to pass and that’s all. So when you found out you would have to be learning more because of your ‘potential’ you got rightfully pissed. It didn’t matter though. Once you were in AP, you can’t get out of it unless your parents signed for it (which your mother clearly isn’t budging on) or you flunk. And you weren’t about to fail Senior year just to get out of harder classes. Once you reached it, the room was mainly empty as most people went home. But the worker was still there until school closing time. There were groups still there, most likely waiting for their rides. You decided to order a croissant with ice coffee, making your way to an empty table to eat. You pulled out one of your notebooks to get to planning ideas.
—
The Sun had already set in Gotham due to the amount of buildings surrounding the city causing the car Tim was in to be fully dark, the only source of light was that of the laptop on his lap. The image broadcasted was that of the cafeteria’s cameras directed at you. You were writing notes with one hand and eating a pastry with the other. He couldn’t take his eyes off you. He had one of his notebooks beside him, taking notes when he noticed any quirks of yours. Like how you would subconsciously bite your nails or pick at your skin when you were stressed and the food you ordered. Then he took a look at what you were writing. At first he thought you were still working on ideas for the project. But as he kept reading, he realized that it seemed to be more of a fantasy novel. “Hm.. If I can just.. There we go.” He mutters to himself as he managed to zoom close enough to the book’s cover to see that it was a novel. ‘The Whispers of the Assassin.’ Quite the title. He searches the book online to have it delivered to the manor as soon as possible. “The Whispers of the Assassin follows Elara, a skilled assassin haunted by her past. Tasked with eliminating a crime lord responsible for her family's down.. Okay, I’ll read it later.” Tim thought to himself that he could suggest using this novel as a dataset, might help you be more interested to work with him on the project.
He’ll decide once he reads the book himself, for now, it’s best not to bring it up. When he realized the time was close to 5PM, Tim moved to the driver’s seat of his car to reach the library before you did. He would be a cover story that he was there the whole time.
—
When you finally reached the library, you found Tim scribbling notes in the same notebook he was using during class. When he heard your footsteps, he closed the book before you could get too close. Placing it back into his bag, he pulled out a tablet. “Hey.” He gave you a small smile. “Hey back.” You sat on the other side of the table, pulling out your own notes. “I wrote a few ideas on what we could use as a dataset and the methods. You can tell me which ones you find interesting.” You slid the papers to him, letting him read everything. “Hmm.. Good. The ideas, I mean. Here, we could use a novel. What novels do you like?”
“Well, I was reading a novel recently about a book called ‘The Whispers of the Assassin.’ It’s really good, you should read it. But I thought maybe we could use that.” Great minds think alike. You saw him typing away at his comically large tablet, he skimmed through the summary. He didn’t answer right away, almost like he was absorbed in the story.
But eventually he directed his face back to you. “Interesting. I’ll buy it later.” He tapped his index finger, eyes slightly unfocused. Before he stopped abruptly. “Since we’re basically done planning, there’s not much to do here.” He chuckles, turning to face his attention to one of the windows. “What do you like about the book?” His gaze wasn’t on you but he was still talking to you. “Well.. I like the main character, Elara. She’s a total badass. Her family died because of this mob boss and she goes after him to avenge her family. She honestly reminds me of Batman.” You could see him try to stop himself from cracking a smile from that. “Yeah, now I have to read it. I’ve had an obsession with Batman since I was a kid.” That explains the huge bat logo on his shirt. “Oh, so you’re a superhero nerd?” He nodded his head, smiling.
“Oh, shit. I completely forgot to tell you my name. It’s (Y/N).” You instinctively reached your hand out for him to shake and he surprisingly shook it as soon as you held it out. “That’s a pretty name.” He mused on it for a second before freeing your hand from his grip. “What else do you like to do?” The single sentence led to a conversation for a few hours before you left for your respective homes.
—
“Young master Tim, a delivery has arrived in your name.” Alfred’s voice could be heard through the door as he insisted on repeatedly knocking till Tim answered. “Thank you, Alfred.” He was about to close the door but the older man blocked the way with the tip of his foot. “I’m sorry to be a bother but Master Bruce has been concerned with your amount of screen time.”
Tim sighed slightly, he couldn’t help but be annoyed at the fact that they were taking time out of his busy schedule just to worry over nothing. “I can guarantee you both that I am fine. Just been busy with projects. AP classes are kind of kicking my ass right now. Thanks again.” He took the package from him without another word, pushing the man’s foot with his own. He quickly closed the door before he could be berated with even more of their concerns.
His room was clean but definitely not organized. Wires and computers were everywhere, books filled to the brim with the most minute of details about you. He made his way back to his bed, closing his laptop and pulling out his phone and earphones. He put the small buds in his ears, playing ‘8 HOURS OF BROWN NOISE’ as he began reading the novel. Four hours later, he had already finished it. Though, he had trained his mind to be able to handle large amounts of information in short periods. While the book most definitely had its flaws, it wasn’t bad. Now, just to finish the project so he can spend more time with you.

Hello!! I hope you're having a good day ^^ I came across your post about writing non-linearly on Notion and I'm excited to try it out because the advice resonated with me! Though, I'm really new to using the app and, if possible, need help with how to do this part: 'where every scene is a separate table entry and the scene is written in the page inside that entry.' ;v;
Hello! Thank you so much for messaging!!! Since that post about writing non-linearly (linked for context) blew up roughly ten thousand times as much as anything I've ever posted, I've been kind of meaning to make a followup post explaining more about how I use Notion for writing non-linearly, but, you know, ADHD, so I haven't done it yet. XD In the meantime, I'll post a couple screenshots of my current long fic with some explanations! I'd make this post shorter, but I'm unable to not be Chatty. XD (just ask my poor readers how long my author notes are...) (There is a phone app as well which syncs with the desktop/browser versions, but I work predominantly in the desktop app so that's what I'm gonna be showing)
(the table keeps going off the right side of the image but it's a bunch of unimportant stuff tbh) So this is more complicated than what you'll probably start with because I'm Normal and add a bunch of details that you might not need depending on what you're doing. For example, my fic switches POVs so I have a column for tracking that, and my fic follows a canon timeline so I have a column for dates so I can keep track of them, and I also made columns for things like if a scene had spoilers or certain content readers may want to avoid, which they can access in my spoiler and content guide for the fic. (As I said, I'm Normal.) I also do some complicated stuff using Status and estimated wordcount stuff to get an idea of how long I predict the content to be, but again, not necessary. Anyway, you don't need any of that. For the purposes of this explanation, we're just gonna look at the columns I have called Name, Order, and Status. (And one called Part, but we'll get into that later) Columns in Notion have different types, such as Text, Numbers, Select, Date, etc, so make sure to use the type that works best for the purpose of each column! For example, here I'm using Select for Character POVs, Number for Order and WC (wordcount), and Text for the In-Game Date. Okay let's get into it! Name is a column that comes in a Notion table by default, and you can't get rid of it (which drives me up the wall for some purposes but works totally fine for what we're doing here). As you can see on the scene I've labeled 'roll call', if you hover over a Name entry, a little button called 'Open' appears, which you click on to open the document that's inside the table. That's all default, you don't have to set anything up for it. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like when I click the one titled 'I will be anything for you' (I've scrolled down in the screenshot so you can see the text, but all the data fields also appear at the top of the page)
(This view is called 'side peek' meaning the document opens on one side and you can still see the table under it on the left, which is what mine defaults to. But you can set it to 'center peek' or 'full page' as well.) All my scenes have their own entry like this! Note that I've said scenes, not chapters. I decide the chapters later by combining the scenes in whatever combination feels right, which means I can often decide in advance where my chapter endings will be. This helps me consciously give most of my endings more impact than I was usually able to do when I tried to write linearly. So hopefully that gives you an idea of what I mean by writing inside the table and treating the table as a living outline. The 'Status' column is also pretty straightforward, and might require a little setup for whatever your needs are. This is another default column type Notion has which is similar to a Select but has a few more specialized features. This is how mine is set up:
(I don't actually use 'Done', idk why I left it there. Probably I should replace it with 'Posted' and use that instead of the checkmark on the far left? whatever, don't let anyone tell you I'm organized. XDD)
Pretty straightforward, it just lets me see easily what's complete and what still needs work. (You'll notice there's no status for editing, because like I mentioned in my other post, I don't ever sit down to consciously edit, I just let it happen as I reread) Obviously tailor this to your own needs! The Order column is sneakily important, because this is what makes it easy for me to keep the scenes organized. I set the Sort on the table to use the Order to keep the scene ordered chronologically. When I make the initial list of scenes I know the fic will have, I give all of them a whole number to put them in order of events. Then as I write and come up with new scene ideas, the new scenes get a number with a decimal point to put them in the spot they fit in the timeline. (you can't see it here, but some of them have a decimal three or four digits deep, lol). Technically you can drag them to the correct spot manually, but if you ever create another View in your table (you can see I have eight Views in this one, they're right under the title) it won't keep your sorting in the new View and you'll hate yourself when it jumbles all your scenes. XD (And if you get more comfortable with Notion, you probably will at some point desire to make more Views) The Part column isn't necessary, but I found that as the fic grew longer, I was naturally separating the scenes into different points along the timeline by changes in status quo, etc. (ex. "this is before they go overseas" "this is after they speak for the first time", stuff like that) in my mind. To make it easier to decide where to place new scenes in the timeline, I formalized this into Parts, which initially I named with short summaries of the current status quo, and later changed to actual titles because I decided it would be cool to actually use them in the fic itself. Since it's not in the screenshots above, here's what the dropdown for it looks like:
(I've blocked some of the titles out for spoiler reasons)
Basically I only mention the Parts thing because I found it was a useful organizational tool for me and I was naturally doing it in my head anyway. Anyway, I could keep talking about this for a really long time because I love Notion (don't get me started on how I use toggle blocks for hiding content I've edited out without deleting it) but that should be enough to get started and I should really, you know, not make this another insanely long post. XDD And if anybody is curious about how the final results look, the fic can be found here.

FANFIC DATA [15 Minutes to Save Him]
Most of the images I made for the story. Keep scrolling for close-ups and some new sketches.
FANFICTION DATA (4-june-2025) 🕙Title: 15 Minutes to Save Him 🕙Genre: Romance (F/M) 🕙Style: Canon rewrite 🕙Main pairing: Ranma x Akane 🕙Length: +20K words 🕙Ranking: Teen and up 🕙Where to read: ·AO3 - Fanfic with embedded fanart [Read here] ·Tumblr - I will share one fan art or so + a text excerpt for every chapter released. So it works as notifications. ·(Maybe FF.net - Fanfic with text only [account]) Summary: Ranma makes life plans right after the battle in China, but his daydreams crumble when darkness swallows him. Meanwhile, Akane witnesses his decline and is undeterred by his new, closed-off behavior. She'll uncover the root of his change and help him, even if it takes a counterintuitive approach! But will their secret 15-minute deal work? And can she keep taming her hopes of reciprocated love? ------ Progress update (4-June-2025) The fanfic started its release on AO3! See the cover and get further updates in this new tumblr post. Progress update (29-May-2025) New art at end of post. Fanfic edits/beta ongoing. Progress update (18-May-2025) Beta checks are ongoing, which made me start rereading the manga (focusing on specific parts) to improve a particular character's arc. I'm happy I can follow it in Japanese decently well! Level up~ New art added to this post.
Progress update (13-May-2025) -Cover art and some other sketches done -Publishing system decided -Beta reading pending
Progress update (8-May-2025) Drawing art while waiting for beta reading. Cover WIP added at the end of this post~
Progress update (2-May-2025)
The first chapters are as polished as my current skills allow, and they’ve already had some beta reading—kyaa~ (TYSM! @luna12-ranma-akane-otp ). The rest of the fic is also pretty far along, totaling 18k words.
Again, don’t expect regular updates from me, but know that things are happening behind the scenes.
Progress update (27-Apr-2025) The project is progressing nicely, but that means fewer posts as I keep editing the fanfic (not drawing art). Don't worry if you see me post less in the next days/weeks. I added a new sketch at the end of this post's close-ups!
Progress update (24-Apr-2025)
My amazing pro writer friend read the first draft and gave me super useful and sweet feedback. I'm so motivated to improve the story and release it ♡ RELEASE TIMELINE
I have a lot to rewrite and, as this is a for-fun project, there's no set date. But I can say this: I'm the type of creator who finishes projects to keep things consistent, start to end, and then releases them into parts. That lets people savor each installment and perhaps speculate with others on what will happen next.
Yes, I'm evil, not giving it all at once. But at least early readers have security that there is a (hopefully) satisfying ending coming ^^ Then, even if I could start publishing the fanfic once the texts are fully finished, I also want time to do art accompanying the story (like this post's images). So I'm considering whether I...
A) wait to release until I have all texts + images = regular release schedule but longer wait B) just release when I have the text and do images on the go = irregular releases, but we start earlier Probably I'll go with a mix of both, having a buffer of images before the start. Which, in a way, I already have.
What is your preference as a writer or reader?
Publish all at once, "chaos" irregular but release as soon as you have it, monthly, weekly, daily,...

Understanding a Scientific Article
Abstract
A brief description of the key points you will find in the paper. This can include:
Objectives: What questions the researchers hope to answer.
Methods: What type of study the researchers used to conduct the study.
Results: What the researchers discovered.
Discussion/conclusion: What the results mean and/or the author’s interpretation of the results.
Look at the date of the study.
Was it conducted in the past year? 5 years? 15 years? As new information is learned, scientific standards and techniques change, and practices evolve.
New research may support results from older studies as well as lead to new methods to diagnose and treat conditions and diseases.
New research can, at times, also contradict other research, which may require additional research to explore and resolve these differences.
Research can separate the good results from the bad results. In this way, the scientific method is self-correcting, which is reassuring.
Looking at the date can provide insight into how the study fits into the larger evidence base on a particular topic.
Methods
Detailed information on the type of research or approach used, the study’s design, the participants, the measurements or outcomes recorded, and steps taken to avoid bias.
Types of Research
Basic research: Scientists ask questions about theories or concepts, and test hypotheses to improve scientific knowledge. It’s the first step in any research.
Translational research: Researchers build on the observations and results of basic research to develop and test new ways to prevent, detect, or treat conditions and diseases.
Clinical trials: Well-planned clinical trials are done with people and may vary in size and type. Clinical trials give the clearest information about whether a treatment or a lifestyle change is effective and safe in humans. However, because they are complicated, lengthy, involve many research participants and can be very expensive, they are usually done only after smaller preliminary studies have been completed.
Systematic reviews and meta-analyses: When researchers review each other’s research to check for quality and look for converging evidence among studies, they may write systematic reviews and meta-analyses. These look at different studies on the same topic. When many studies come to the same conclusion, it helps us know that the results are reliable and valid.
While all research studies are important and contribute to our knowledge base, clinical trials are the types of studies you probably hear about most often in the news. They can have the most immediate impact on improving health and treating disease.
Results
What the study showed.
The data, summaries, and analyses of the study are presented in this section. Tables, graphs, and charts that show the results are often included.
To better understand the results, you can ask these questions:
How do these results compare with previous studies?
A single study rarely provides a final, definitive answer.
Repeating a study using the same methods with different volunteers and investigators helps us know that the results are reliable and valid.
What do “statistically significant” and “clinically significant” mean?
Statistically significant means the differences observed between the groups are real and not likely due to chance.
Clinically significant is a measure of the size of the effects observed in the study, which shows the impact of the treatment.
A study can find statistically significant differences between two treatment groups, but the differences may be so small that they are not clinically significant in terms of usefulness for patients.
Are there potential conflicts of interest?
Did the study sponsor or the investigators have any financial or reputational "stake" in the outcome?
Most medical journal articles include information about relevant financial relationships.
Discussion
What the results mean.
This is where you can often find out how the study relates to your own health.
This section includes the authors’ explanation of, and own opinions about, what the results mean.
Since the conclusions are the authors’ own, others may or may not completely agree with their explanation of the results.
References
Previously published articles the authors used to review what related research was done before, to help design the study and interpret its results.

“You need to get out there.”
Jisoo’s voice is firm, her arms crossed as she leans against your desk, watching you like you’re some kind of puzzle she’s determined to solve.
You barely glance up from your screen, fingers still moving across the keyboard. “I get out there.”
Jisoo snorts. “Yeah, to his house.”
You pause, fingers stuck mid-air. Jisoo has unfortunately read you better than yourself again. She really should get an award for deciphering your inner monologues.
She smirks, triumphant. “Yeah. That’s what I thought.”
You roll your eyes, exhaling sharply as you sit back in your chair. “What’s your point, Jisoo?”
“My point,” she says, flipping her hair over her shoulder, “is that you are doing absolutely nothing about the Jungkook situation, and I’m sick of watching it.”
“There is no Jungkook situation,” you argue, though even as you say it, the words feel wrong in your mouth.
Jisoo just looks at you with a familiar gaze, and you wither under her stare. You could not be more obvious if you tried.
“You’re impossible,” she sighs. “Fine. If you’re not gonna do anything about him, at least give my friend a shot.”
You blink. “What?”
Jisoo perks up instantly, sensing an opening. “I’ve got a friend. Great guy. Works in finance. Super chill. Hot in a ‘wears suits and probably owns expensive whiskey’ kind of way. Your type.”
You frown, shaking your head. “I don’t have a type.”
Jisoo grins. “Oh, you do. And it’s not Jungkook.”
Something in your stomach twists. She’s right. On any good day, about three months ago, you would’ve laughed if you saw Jungkook in a bar, probably would’ve made a comment on how tattoos are disrespectful. Now all you do is admire the art on his arm, wanting desperately to trace your fingers on the designs.
Jisoo doesn’t notice—or maybe she does and just doesn’t care—because she’s already pulling out her phone, scrolling quickly.
“Okay, look.” She shoves the screen toward you, displaying a picture of a man. He’s well-dressed, smiling, objectively attractive. “See? Handsome. Stable job. Probably goes to bed at a reasonable hour.”
You hesitate. You should say no. You should shut this down immediately. But instead, you stare at the photo a second too long. There’s a few reasons for this: Jungkook hasn’t texted you all day, and you keep thinking about him, about that conversation, about how he looked at you when he said, "Yeah, I fucking know. It’s all I think about."
You need to fix whatever this is.
And maybe, just maybe this will help. Maybe this will prove something to yourself.
“Fine,” you murmur, looking away. “I’ll go.”
Jisoo gasps, delighted. “Oh my god. You never say yes to things. I’m so proud.”
You shake your head. “It’s just one date.”
“One date,” she repeats, winking. “And if you don’t like him, then at least we’ve confirmed one thing.”
You frown. “What?”
Jisoo leans in, her voice teasing but knowing. “That you’re already taken.”
Your stomach clenches and you glare at her, but she just laughs.
And for the rest of the day, you pretend like her words don’t echo in your head.
By the time you get home, the weight of the day settles into your bones. The office had been its usual whirlwind—meetings bleeding into each other, emails stacking up, numbers flashing across your screen in an endless stream of data. But even as you buried yourself in spreadsheets and client calls, your mind had been elsewhere.
Jisoo’s words still linger, curling around your thoughts like smoke. “If you don’t like him, then at least we’ve confirmed one thing: That you’re already taken."
You exhale, shaking your head as you slip off your blazer, tossing it over the back of your chair. It’s just one date. Just one night to remind yourself of what you want. And it has nothing to do with Jungkook. You cross your heart and hope to die.
Your phone vibrates against your nightstand almost comically as the thought leaves your mind.
Jungkook: Wanna FaceTime?
Your stomach does something stupid, and you ignore it. Instead, you slide into bed, propping your phone up against your pillow before answering the call.
Jungkook’s face fills the screen, messy hair, damp like he just got out of the shower, a hoodie adorning his body. His room is dimly lit, a lamp casting warm light behind him.
“Hey,” you say, voice softer than you mean it to be.
Jungkook smirks, shifting to get comfortable. “Hey yourself. Rough day?”
You hum, rubbing a hand over your face. “Long day.”
Jungkook watches you for a beat, like he’s reading something in your expression. “Need me to come beat up your boss?”
You huff a quiet laugh. “Tempting.”
He grins, pleased, and the tension in your shoulders eases just a little. See, this is normal. This is you and him. Effortless, easy.
And then, before you can overthink it, the words slip out. “Oh—Jisoo set me up on a date.”
Jungkook stills. For a fraction of a second, his face is completely blank. No teasing smirk, no lighthearted remark. Just… nothing.
“Oh yeah?” He leans back, resting his head against the pillow. “Guess it was bound to happen eventually.”
Something about the way he says it makes your stomach tighten. You tilt your head slightly. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
Jungkook shrugs. “Just figured it’d happen sooner or later. You’re—” He waves a hand vaguely. “You know.”
You frown. “No, I don’t.”
His jaw tightens, but his voice stays infuriatingly neutral. “You’re the whole ‘finance, responsible, put-together’ thing. Kinda makes sense you’d go for some suit-wearing guy with a stable job.”
Your brows knit together. “First of all, you haven’t seen the guy. And two, you say that like it’s a bad thing.”
Jungkook exhales through his nose, a short breath that almost sounds like a laugh. “It’s not.”
But something in his voice makes it seem like it is.
You narrow your eyes slightly. “Are you—” You hesitate, studying him. His body language is relaxed, but his responses are shorter, his usual easy smirk nowhere to be found. “Are you weird about this?”
Jungkook scoffs. “Why the fuck would I be weird?”
You blink. “I don’t know. You just sound—”
“I sound fine,” he says, a little too quickly.
You raise a brow. “Okay.”
A beat of silence.
Jungkook shifts, adjusting his hoodie strings, eyes flickering off to the side. “So. Who’s the guy?”
You hesitate. “Just a friend of Jisoo’s. Works in finance.”
Jungkook hums, expression unreadable. “Right. Of course he does.”
Your stomach flips, and you don’t know why.
You cross your arms over your chest, tilting your head. “Why do I feel like you’re judging me right now?”
Jungkook smirks, but it doesn’t reach his eyes. “I’m not judging. Just… making an observation.”
You hate how much this feels like a shift, like something between you is stretching too tight, pulling at the seams of whatever you’ve built together. It’s just a date. Jungkook shouldn’t care. And yet, his voice is slightly clipped, his jaw tighter than before. He definitely cares.
You chew on your lip. “Are you sure you’re—”
“I’m good,” Jungkook interrupts, forcing an easy grin. “Just curious, that’s all.”
Somehow, that bothers you more, because he’s not good and neither are you. Jungkook shifts again, rolling onto his side, resting his chin on his hand as he exhales through his nose. And then, just like that, he changes the subject. “So, did you ever end up telling your coworker off today?”
You blink, caught off guard by the sudden shift. “What?”
Jungkook smirks, his expression relaxing, like he’s willing the tension out of the conversation. “Your coworker. The one who won’t stop bringing those tuna sandwiches that smell. Did you finally tell him where to shove it?”
You huff a small laugh, sinking further into your pillows. “I don’t think I have the luxury of doing that.”
“Shame.” Jungkook tuts, shaking his head. “If I were your coworker, I’d be terrified of you.”
You snort. “You would not.”
“Oh, I would.” He leans closer to the camera, eyes glinting. “You’ve got that whole quiet-but-powerful thing going on. Like you’re secretly running the whole operation but letting everyone think they have control.”
Your cheeks warm, but you roll your eyes. “That’s ridiculous.”
Jungkook grins. “I’m just saying, you do have a certain… intimidation factor.”
“You’re literally a race car driver. I’m pretty sure you have the intimidation factor,” You laugh.
“Yeah, but mine’s expected. Yours is dangerous.”
You shake your head, but you’re smiling, and just like that, the conversation falls into the same effortless rhythm it always does.
You talk about your day. He talks about his: how he nearly fell asleep during a sponsorship meeting, how he almost punched a guy for stealing his protein bar, how he spent an hour trying to fix something in his car before realizing he’d been using the wrong tool the whole time. You laugh. He teases you. It’s normal.
For a moment, you forget about the tension from earlier. You forget about the date looming over you. You forget about everything except the fact that this—talking to Jungkook, feeling at ease with him—feels like the most natural thing in the world.
You don’t even realize how late it gets. You yawn, rubbing your eyes, and Jungkook notices. “Tired?”
You nod. “Yeah.”
He exhales, shifting onto his back, staring at the ceiling for a moment. Then, before you can say goodnight, “I hope you have fun tomorrow.”
Your stomach clenches. He says it so genuinely. So smoothly, like it’s just another sentence, just another thing he’d say at the end of any conversation. But you know better.
You bite the inside of your cheek, studying him through the screen. “Thanks.”
Jungkook hums, nodding slightly. “Goodnight, [Y/N].”
Your heart stumbles over its own rhythm. You don’t know why, but it does. The sound of your name falling from his mouth with ease seems to stop you in your tracks. You don’t say anything for a beat, but Jungkook doesn’t press. He just watches you, waiting.
Finally, you swallow. “Goodnight, Jungkook.”
And when the call ends, you’re left staring at the dark screen, the silence of your room feeling impossibly loud.
Because despite everything—despite the fact that you’re supposed to be going on a date tomorrow—you can’t stop wishing it was with him.
。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆
Getting ready shouldn’t feel like this.
It shouldn’t feel like dragging yourself through wet cement, like trying to convince your own reflection that this is something you actually want. But as you sit at your vanity, smoothing concealer under your eyes, brushing powder over your cheeks, curling your lashes with precision, you feel nothing. Not excitement, not nerves. Just… a dull awareness that this is happening, and that somehow, you agreed to it.
Your phone sits beside you, screen dark, mockingly silent. Jungkook hasn’t texted you all day. You don’t know why you expected him to. It’s not like he texts you every day. (Except he does. Almost always. But maybe not today. Maybe not when he knows where you’re going tonight.)
You swallow, shaking your head, brushing a final layer of lip gloss over your lips before grabbing your bag.
This is fine. This is good for you. You need to stop thinking about Jungkook like this. You need to prove that you can.
The drive to the restaurant is quiet.
The city moves around you—neon signs flickering, headlights spilling across the pavement, people weaving in and out of late-night cafés. You grip the steering wheel a little too tightly, your thoughts a little too loud.
Jisoo’s friend’s name is Minho. He’s perfect on paper. Finance guy. Smart, successful, stable. The kind of man your mother would approve of. The kind of man who won’t leave you breathless, who won’t make you feel like you’re hurtling toward something dangerous every time he looks at you. The kind of man who makes sense. And yet, you find yourself dreading every second of this.
You pull into the parking lot, smoothing invisible wrinkles from your dress, inhaling deep as you step out of your car. This is fine. You’re going to have dinner. Make conversation. Enjoy yourself. You will not think about Jungkook.
Minho is already waiting when you arrive.
He’s tall, dressed in a crisp button-down and tailored slacks. His smile is warm, his handshake firm but not too firm. He opens the door for you, gestures for you to go first, waits for you to sit before taking his own seat. It’s… nice. Everything about him is nice.
The restaurant hums with quiet chatter, soft lighting casting a golden glow over the tables. A waiter appears, handing you menus, listing off the specials in a pleasant tone.
You glance up briefly, offering a polite smile. “What do you recommend?”
Minho hums, scanning the menu. “The chicken looks good. But honestly, I’m not too picky. What about you?”
Your lips part, ready to agree with him on the steak. And then a thought crosses your mind. Jungkook wouldn’t have asked. Jungkook would’ve smirked, leaned back in his chair, teased you about ordering the most boring thing on the menu just to be safe.
Your stomach tightens. You clear your throat, forcing a small smile. “I think I’ll get pasta.”
Minho nods approvingly. “Solid choice.”
The night, the conversation flows easily enough. Minho is polite, well-spoken. He asks about your job, actually listens when you explain the intricacies of consulting, nodding in understanding, adding his own insights about the financial world. It’s… easy. But it’s not effortless. Not like it is with Jungkook.
Minho tells a story about a trip he took last summer. You laugh, because you’re supposed to. But the whole time, your mind is somewhere else. Jungkook would’ve made fun of you for fake-laughing right now.
You reach for your phone, out of habit. Still nothing. Not a single message from him. Your fingers hesitate over the screen before you force yourself to set it back down.
“So, what do you do for fun?” Minho asks, sipping his wine.
You blink. “Fun?”
He chuckles. “Yeah. What do you do when you’re not working?”
Your mind blanks as you come to a detrimental realization. Jungkook is your fun. Wine nights. Video games. Him annoying you just to get a reaction.
You chew on the inside of your cheek, feeling ridiculous. “Uh. I don’t know.”
Minho laughs lightly. “I get it. Work keeps you busy.”
You nod, nearly choking on your saliva as it goes down. You should like this, you should like him, but you don’t. And the realization makes you feel sick. On autopilot, you check your phone again.
That’s really when it hits you. You don’t want to be here. You don’t care if Minho is the perfect guy. You don’t want polite smiles and easy conversation. You want teasing smirks and sarcastic remarks and late-night ramen and someone who reads every little thing about you before you even say it out loud. You want Jungkook, and no amount of pretending is going to change that.
Somewhere in the middle of the date, as time ticks dangerously slow, you realize you need to leave in the middle of his story.
Minho is talking—something about his last trip to Jeju, a hiking trail, how he got lost but ended up finding the best seafood restaurant tucked into the cliffs—but you’re barely listening.
You’re nodding at the right moments, humming in agreement, sipping at your wine, but your mind is somewhere else, or rather—with someone else.
Jungkook wouldn’t have let you zone out like this. Jungkook would have noticed the second your mind drifted, smirked at you across the table, called you out on it just to see you flustered.
But Minho just keeps talking, and you can’t help but compare. You feel awful about it, but the thought keeps nagging at the back of your mind. This is supposed to be good for you.
You inhale slowly, fixing the napkin folded in your lap, shaking yourself out of your own head. Focus. Try. Minho is nice. He’s stable. He’s normal.
A thought slams into you with such certainty that it nearly knocks the breath out of your lungs. You need to get out of here.
“Minho.” You blink, sitting up a little straighter. “I’m so sorry—I just realized I have an early meeting tomorrow. I should probably call it a night.”
Minho pauses, a little surprised, but he nods easily. “Of course. No problem at all.”
He doesn’t look disappointed. Just polite. Understanding. That somehow makes you feel worse. Because the truth is, he probably felt the lack of something between you, too.
You push out of your chair, pulling a few bills from your bag for your share of the dinner, but Minho waves a hand. “Don’t worry about it. I’ve got it.”
You force a small smile. “Thank you.”
The waiter returns with the check, and you busy yourself slipping on your coat, gripping the lapels a little too tightly.
Minho stands with you, offering a smile. “It was really nice meeting you.”
“You too,” you say, and you mean it. He’s good. He’s great, actually. He’s just not Jungkook.

You don’t even think about it.
One second, you’re stepping into your apartment, kicking off your heels, breath still uneven from leaving the restaurant earlier than you should have. The next, your fingers are hovering over Jungkook’s name, your phone vibrating with noise as you wait for him to answer.
It’s muscle memory. Instinct. He answers immediately, like he was waiting.
The screen flickers to life, and there he is: hoodie on, silver chain glinting against his collarbone, hair messy from the day’s activities. His eyes flicker over your face, assessing, before his lips pull into a lazy smirk. "Thought you’d be out late."
His tone is casual. Easy, but his jaw is tight. His fingers tap idly against his phone, betraying the restless energy behind the smooth facade.
He’s not okay. For some reason, that makes something in you unravel.
You exhale, sinking onto your couch, legs folding beneath you. “It was fine,” you say, voice softer than you intend. “Just… not for me.”
Jungkook hums, tilting his head slightly, leaning back against his pillows. He stretches one arm over the back of his couch, watching you carefully. Slowly, he smirks, like he knew it all along. “Not for you, huh?"
Something about the way he says it—so smug, so damn certain—makes heat prickle at the back of your neck.
You huff. “Don’t start.”
“I’m not starting anything,” he muses, but his grin widens, teeth grazing his bottom lip. “Just saying. You didn’t even last a full dinner.”
You scowl. “I lasted long enough.”
Jungkook hums again, unconvinced. “Did you?”
Your fingers tighten around your phone. “Shut up.”
But Jungkook grins, shifting slightly, his gaze flickering over your face like he’s cataloging every little reaction, every little tell.
“What happened?” he presses, voice dipping lower, smooth and slow like he’s enjoying this.
You exhale sharply, tilting your head back against the couch. “Nothing.”
Jungkook raises a brow. “Nothing?”
You hesitate. “He was nice.”
Jungkook lets the words settle for a beat, then nods slowly. “Nice.”
His voice wraps around the word like it’s an insult.
You glare at him through the screen. “What?”
Jungkook shrugs. “Nothing.”
The teasing smirk is still there, but his eyes have darkened slightly, like he’s weighing his next words carefully. “Did you like him?"
You should say yes. You really should, but you don’t. Instead, you lick your lips, heart thudding against your ribs. “I don’t know.”
Jungkook laughs, soft, amused. “You don’t know?"
Your pulse spikes. “Jungkook.”
“No, I’m just—” He leans forward slightly, elbows resting on his knees, his expression so unfairly confident. “You either liked him or you didn’t.”
You exhale, fingers winding into the fabric of your couch. “He was fine.”
Jungkook clicks his tongue. “That’s not an answer.”
You glare. “I don’t owe you one.”
Jungkook lifts a brow. “You don’t.” A beat. “But you’re still on FaceTime with me instead of on the date with him.”
You freeze because he’s right, and he knows it. His smirk grows, a slow, knowing thing that makes your stomach twist.
“You’re being annoying,” you mutter, looking away.
Jungkook chuckles, stretching back against the couch again. “Am I?”
The confidence in his voice, the way he’s watching you now—lips curled at the corner, eyes laced with something knowing—it makes you feel physically ill, because he’s won this round. And worse? You are going to let him.
You shift slightly, propping your chin in your hand as you glare at him through the screen. “You’re insufferable.”
Jungkook grins, completely unfazed. “I’ve been called worse.”
You roll your eyes. “You enjoy this, don’t you?”
“Enjoy what?” he asks, feigning innocence.
You huff. “Getting under my skin.”
Jungkook exhales through his nose, shaking his head. “Nah. I just like knowing you think about me when you’re supposed to be thinking about someone else.”
Your stomach plummets. His smirk deepens, almost like he sees it. He sees the way your lips part slightly, the way you blink a little too fast, the way you don’t deny it.
Your throat goes dry. “That’s not—”
Jungkook raises a brow. “It’s not what?”
Your words die on your tongue. What are you supposed to say? That he’s wrong? That you didn’t spend your entire night comparing some perfectly nice guy to him? That your mind wasn’t full of all the ways Jungkook is easier, funnier, more everything?
You exhale sharply, shaking your head. “You are so—”
Jungkook interrupts smoothly, “Charming? Funny? Handsome?”
You groan. “Infuriating.”
Jungkook just grins, tongue peeking out to play with his lip piercing, completely unfazed. “Yet here we are. FaceTiming after your big date.”
Your jaw tightens. “I hate you.”
“No, you don’t,” he muses, dragging out the words like he’s enjoying every second of this. Then, after a beat, “Maybe you even have a little crush on me.”
The thing is, you’re not even trying to make Jungkook work for it. He’s already noticed your internal struggle, already saw right through your façade. You’re trying to get him to stop saying these words so you don’t go actively insane. If you do give in to Jungkook’s advances, you’ve already acknowledged that it won’t end well for you. It will throw your life off course, disrupt the routine you’ve carefully constructed, and tear down the barriers you’ve worked so hard to maintain.
And Jungkook knows it. His smirk grows, eyes darkening just slightly, fingers tapping against his phone like he’s waiting, waiting, waiting.
You scoff, shaking your head. “You’re delusional.”
Jungkook hums, amused. “Am I?”
Yes.
No.
You don’t know. What do you know anymore?
Your stomach tightens, something unreadable clawing its way up your throat, and before you let him see it, “I’m hanging up now.”
Jungkook laughs, full and bright. “Oh, running away? Interesting.”
“Good night, Jungkook.”
His grin lingers, eyes glinting. “Sweet dreams.”
The call ends and you’re left staring at the screen, heart hammering, face warm, stomach wrecked.
Jungkook is smug, and maybe, just maybe, he has every right to be.
The next morning, the office feels too bright.
Or maybe it’s just your head, still foggy from last night, from him, from the words he left you with. “Maybe you even have a little crush on me."
You hate how easily Jungkook gets under your skin. You hate that you barely slept, that you spent way too long staring at your ceiling, replaying the conversation in your head, reading into every smirk, every teasing lilt in his voice, every time he let the words linger just a little too long. And most of all, you hate that he was right.
You spent the entire night on a date with someone else, and yet the second you got home, your first instinct was to call him. You groan, rubbing a hand over your face as you sink into your chair.
“Ohhh, you are so dead.”
You barely have time to react before Jisoo appears, all but slamming her hands down on your desk, eyes glittering with a dangerous amount of excitement.
You flinch. “Jesus—”
“Talk.” She pulls out the chair across from you, sliding into it so quickly that her coffee nearly spills. “Date details. Now.”
You hesitate.
Jisoo narrows her eyes.
You exhale, tapping your nails against the desk. “It was… fine.”
Jisoo tilts her head. “Fine?”
You nod. “Yeah. He was nice.”
Jisoo’s brows furrow. “Okay, but nice in a ‘maybe there’s potential’ way or nice in a ‘he was fine, but I was thinking about Jungkook the entire time and wanted to go home’ way?”
Your stomach drops and your face betrays you.
Jisoo sees it immediately, her eyes going wide.
“Oh my god.” She gasps, slapping her hand over her mouth before pointing at you accusingly. “It’s worse than I thought. What, did you call Jungkook after, or something?”
You freeze. Your heartbeat spikes. “...No?”
(Lies. All lies.)
Jisoo cackles. “OH MY GOD. You did.”
“I—”
“You so did.”
You huff, crossing your arms. “It’s not—”
“No, no, no.” She leans forward, her grin too knowing. “Don’t even try it.”
You glare at her. “Try what?”
Jisoo smirks. “Denying the inevitable.”
You roll your eyes. “You’re being dramatic.”
“Oh, am I?” She lifts her coffee cup, tilting her head. “Because let’s just review for a second.”
“Jisoo—”
“Point one,” she interrupts, raising a finger. “You went on a date with a perfectly nice, perfectly attractive, perfectly normal guy.”
You exhale, rubbing your temples. “Yes.”
“Point two—” Jisoo raises another finger. “You didn’t even finish said date.”
You open your mouth to interrupt, to ask how she got that part of the story already, but she holds up a hand.
“Point three—and this is the kicker—you immediately called Jungkook afterward.”
Your stomach tightens. “It wasn’t—”
“Nope.” Jisoo cuts you off, shaking her head. “You don’t get to explain your way out of this.”
You sigh, fingers curling against your desk. “Jisoo, I—”
She leans in. Her voice softens, teasing gone, eyes glinting with something too real, too honest. “You don’t want anyone else,” she murmurs. “You want him.”
Your throat goes dry. You feel the weight of her words hit you straight in the ribs, knocking something loose. You should argue. You should say something. But you don’t. Because for the first time, you can’t. Deep down, you know.
。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆
The weekend comes faster than you expect, and with it, your friend Maya’s birthday party. She’s been your friend for years, an old roommate from your university days.
The bar is already packed when you arrive, music thrumming through the walls, neon signs glowing against the darkened windows. Inside, bodies press together on the dance floor, a sea of movement and laughter and flashing lights. The scent of spilled cocktails lingers in the air, and you can already hear Maya’s distinct laugh from across the room, high and bright, cutting through the noise.
You smile, slipping into the crowd, letting the energy swallow you whole.
This is exactly what you need. A night to drink, to dance, to shake off whatever this weight is that’s been pressing into your chest all week. To forget about the words still ringing in your head from Jisoo. To forget about the fact that you haven’t texted Jungkook all day, and that he hasn’t texted you either.
You don’t think about it. At least, you try not to. Instead, you drink, a little too much, a little too fast. The alcohol spreads warmth through your veins, buzzing beneath your skin, numbing the restlessness that’s been gnawing at you since last night.
You throw yourself into conversation, let Maya pull you into the center of it all, shots lined up on the bar, toasts to another year, cheers that spill into laughter. It’s fun. It’s supposed to be fun. But somewhere between the second and third drink, the laughter starts to feel too loud. The lights too bright. The conversations too shallow.
No matter how many times you shake it off, that feeling lingers. That feeling that something is missing. That feeling that your phone has been too quiet all day. You try not to look at it. You try not to care. Yet, you fail.
And when you finally step outside for some air, the cool night biting at your flushed cheeks, your fingers move before you can stop them.
You don’t even realize you’re calling him until it’s too late. Until the phone is already ringing. Until his voice—low, groggy, familiar—fills your ears.
"[Y/N]?"
His voice is rough with sleep, the kind of rasp that only comes from being pulled into consciousness too fast. And that’s when it hits you— you really should not have called him.
You blink, swaying slightly where you stand on the curb outside the bar, phone pressed too close to your ear. The streetlights cast everything in a warm glow, the night air cool against your flushed skin.
You should hang up. You should. But the moment he hears your little giggle, he knows.
"Where are you?" His tone changes instantly, sharp, awake, concerned.
God, that makes your stomach flutter, or maybe it’s just the drinks, but suddenly, your lips are curving into a grin, because he sounds so serious and you’re so far gone.
"Maya’s party," you mumble, giggling softly as you glance around, trying to get your bearings. “Well, outside of it. Needed air.”
Jungkook does not find this funny. “Are you drunk?"
You gasp, pressing a hand to your chest like he just accused you of a crime. “Jungkook! I would never.”
A pause. Then, “You’re wasted."
You giggle again, leaning against the cold brick wall, tilting your head up to the night sky. The stars look so prettytonight.
“I am not wasted,” you declare, even though you are absolutely wasted. “I’m… celebratory.”
Jungkook sighs, and you can practically hear him running a hand through his hair. “Who’s taking you home?”
You blink. Pause. Oh. That’s a great question.
You purse your lips, swaying slightly. “I could take a taxi…”
"Nope." His voice is final. No room for argument.
You hum, eyes fluttering closed for a second. “Okay… so, come get me?”
Silence. A beat too long, too heavy, stretching between you.
Then, his voice drops, steady, certain. “I’m on my way."
You don’t even have time to respond before the call ends, the line going dead in your hand.
And maybe it’s the alcohol, maybe it’s the way your heart skips, but suddenly, you feel warm all over.
Jungkook is coming. For you.
You frown at your phone. “So rude.”
The night air is crisp against your skin, but you barely feel it. There’s a warmth curling in your chest, spreading through your limbs, a giddy kind of lightness that has nothing to do with the alcohol and everything to do with him.
You shift on your feet, biting back a smile, your fingers fidgeting with the hem of your dress. Your heart jumps, ridiculous and eager, a quiet thrill rushing through you at the thought of seeing him—at the thought that he’s coming for you. That despite everything, despite the late hour, despite how much of a mess you probably sound over the phone, he’s still choosing to show up.
The thought makes something in your stomach tighten, something warm and buzzing, something that feels dangerously close to happiness.
A hand lands on your shoulder, and you turn to find Maya giving you a look. “Who were you talking to?”
You smile. “Jungkook.”
Her eyebrows shoot up. “Jeon Jungkook? That race car driver you’re seeing?”
You giggle, swaying a little. “Yup. He’s coming to get me. Like a knight.” You pause, tilting your head. “But, like, a tattooed knight. A knight with a lip piercing. A knight who’s really, really hot.”
Maya laughs. “Okay, yeah, you’re definitely drunk.”
You pout. “Nooo. I’m fine. I just—” You stop, eyes widening. “Oh my god.”
Maya panics. “What?”
You grab her arm. “Do I look okay?”
She stares at you. “You look drunk.”
You groan. “Ugh, he’s gonna see me like this! This is a disaster.”
You hold onto her shoulders dramatically, shaking her. Maya smirks. “Sounds like someone wants to impress him.”
You narrow your eyes. “That’s not what this is.”
She grins. “Sure, babe.”
Headlights sweep across the pavement, a sleek black car pulling up to the curb. Your heart jumps. You recognize that car anyway. It pulls up to the curb, tires slowing against the pavement, and your breath catches as you see him.
Jungkook.
Your pulse stumbles, fingers tightening against your sides. He hasn’t even stepped out yet, hasn’t even looked at you, but it doesn’t matter, because suddenly, everything feels lighter, easier, safer.
Jungkook barely has time to put the car in park before you’re stumbling forward, waving bye to Maya who just giggles at your walk.
His hand is on you instantly, firm against your waist, steadying you like its second nature. His grip is solid, warm even through the fabric of your dress, fingers pressing into your skin just enough to ground you.
You blink up at him, and god, you should not be this excited to see him.
His brows are drawn together, mouth slightly parted as his eyes flicker over your face, scanning, assessing. “How much did you drink?”
You giggle. “Rude.”
Jungkook exhales through his nose, unimpressed, but his fingers don’t leave your waist. “Seriously.”
You tilt your head, your balance shifting slightly—not enough to fall, but enough that his grip on you tightens. That makes you even giddier. “Enough to be very, very happy to see you.”
Jungkook sighs, running his free hand through his hair before gently maneuvering you toward the car. “Get in, sweetheart.”
And you do. Barely. The moment you sink into the seat, the moment the door closes and you’re surrounded by the scent of him—clean linen, something dark and musky beneath it—you melt into the leather, warmth curling low in your stomach. Then he slides into the driver’s seat, and suddenly, he’s so close.
His jaw clenches as he starts the car, one hand on the wheel, the other running over his face in frustration. But you? You’re just watching him, eyes tracing the slope of his nose, the sharp cut of his jawline, the way the sleeve of his hoodie pushes up just enough to reveal the inked lines of his forearm.
He’s so pretty.
Your fingers twitch in your lap, your lips curving before you can stop them. “You’re so pretty, Jungkookie.”
Jungkook chokes on absolutely nothing. His head turns toward you so fast you almost laugh. His expression is a mix of amusement and disbelief. “Jesus Christ.”
You beam at him, lifting your knees to the seat, turning your whole body toward him like you can’t help it. Maybe you can’t. “You are.”
His grip on the wheel tightens, jaw locking as his eyes flick forward again. “Youre drunk.”
You hum, tilting your head. “So?”
“So,” he mutters, shifting into drive. “I’m ignoring you.”
That makes you laugh, throwing your head back against the seat. “No, you’re not.”
Jungkook sighs, rolling his eyes, but the corner of his mouth twitches, and you see it. He’s so easy to read, even when he pretends not to be. That makes you bold.
So you lean in, resting your chin on your knuckles, watching him with sleepy, playful eyes. “You like it when I compliment you, don’t you?”
Jungkook scoffs, but his ears are turning red. “Go to sleep.”
“Are you blushing?”
“God, I should’ve let you take a taxi.”
You grin, nudging his arm slightly with your fingers. His skin is so warm, his muscles tense under your touch. “I like that you came.”
He doesn’t respond right away. His Adam’s apple bobs, his fingers twitch against the wheel. When he speaks, his voice is a little rougher. “Yeah?”
You hum. “You always come when I call.”
Jungkook’s knuckles turn white on the wheel.
He glances at you, just for a second, something too much, too close, too heavy.
And then, almost like he’s talking to himself, “Yeah,” he murmurs. “I do.”
You don’t know why, but that makes your heart ache.
The rest of the ride is quieter, but the air between you is charged, humming with something unspoken.
And you? You can’t stop staring at him. The warmth in your chest isn’t from the alcohol anymore. That realization is terrifying, you don’t know why, but it does something to you.
Your pulse flutters beneath your skin, your fingers curling against your lap before slowly, without thinking, you reach out again.
It’s not you. You’re not the kind of person who does this. You don’t touch people so easily, so recklessly. You don’t let yourself be this bold, this transparent. But tonight, you can’t help it.
Your hand finds his forearm first, fingers grazing the warm skin exposed beneath the pushed-up sleeve of his hoodie.
Jungkook stiffens.
His fingers tighten around the steering wheel, his breath catching so subtly you almost don’t notice. Almost. But you do, and it only makes you bolder.
Your fingers trace over the ink on his skin, the lines of his tattoos. The warmth of him seeps into your palm, and for some reason, it makes your stomach flip.
"You’re so warm," you mumble, mostly to yourself.
Jungkook lets out a slow exhale. "You need to sit properly."
You shake your head, still tracing patterns against his skin, drunk on the feel of him beneath your fingertips. "Don’t wanna."
He makes a sound in the back of his throat, something low, something restrained. "You’re gonna regret this tomorrow."
You grin, looking up at him with something dangerously close to mischief. "Are you saying I don’t usually touch you?"
Jungkook laughs, but it’s breathless, like he can’t quite believe you right now. "You never touch me."
He’s right.
But you don’t say that.
Instead, your fingers trail higher, up the curve of his forearm, feeling the shift of his muscles beneath his skin. Your body feels hot all over.
You let your fingers brush against his neck.
Jungkook sucks in a sharp breath. Your fingertips graze the sensitive skin just below his jaw, featherlight, hesitant but curious. He swallows deeply beneath your touch, and your stomach tightens because he lets you do it.
For a second, he really lets you, lets himself indulge into what it would feel like to be desired by you.
Then, breaking the trance, his hand snaps up, catching your wrist. His grip isn’t rough, but it’s firm, steady, grounding you in a way that makes your head spin for an entirely different reason.
"[Y/N]..” he warns, voice low, barely above a whisper.
You blink up at him, feeling reckless, feeling brave, feeling entirely not yourself.
"Jungkook," you whisper back.
His fingers tighten just slightly around your wrist, his jaw clenching, his eyes flickering between yours like he’s searching for something.
His tongue flicks out, wetting his lips, grazing against the silver of his piercing. Your stomach flips. You can’t stop staring. You can’t stop wanting.
But before you can do anything else, before you can ruin yourself completely, Jungkook sighs. And then, in a voice that is too soft, too knowing, too unfairly patient, “You need to sleep it off, sweetheart."
And just like that, you’re ruined anyway.
The hum of the car engine is steady beneath you, lulling you into something soft, something weightless. The warmth of the interior, the rhythmic motion of the road, the faint scent of Jungkook’s cologne lingering in the air—it all pulls you under, wrapping around you like a cocoon.
You don’t mean to fall asleep. But you do. And for the first time in a long time, sleep is easy. It’s peaceful. Quiet. No racing thoughts. No overthinking. No him lingering too close in your mind. Just warmth.
When you finally do wake up, the world is still.
The engine is off, the headlights casting soft shadows against the pavement outside your apartment. The air between you feels heavier, quieter, like neither of you are sure what comes next.
You shift slightly, stretching in your seat, blinking against the dim glow of the streetlights. Your gaze drifts to Jungkook, who’s sitting back against the headrest, one hand still on the steering wheel, the other draped lazily over the gear shift.
He’s watching you. Not in a way that makes you feel self-conscious, not in a way that feels expectant, not in a stalker-y way. Just… watching, like maybe he’s been doing it for a while.
"You’re really nice," you murmur, your voice still heavy with sleep, with warmth.
Jungkook’s lips twitch. "Yeah?"
You hum, nodding slightly, your fingers toying with the hem of your dress, mind still hazy. "You always take care of me."
Something flickers in his eyes. Something that makes the air between you feel too thick.
He doesn’t say anything.
Suddenly, you don’t want to think. You don’t want to overanalyze, don’t want to let hesitation sink its claws into you before you can act.
So you don’t. You just move.
Leaning in before you can stop yourself, drawn in by the warmth of him, the steady weight of his presence. Your breath fans against his lips. His sharp inhale cuts through the quiet. You can feel it—the shift in him. The way his fingers tighten around the steering wheel, the way his jaw clenches, the way his breath falters, uneven, as your faces linger too close, as your pulse hammers beneath your skin.
And for a second, just for a second, you think he’s going to close the distance.
But then, "Not like this."
His voice is low, rough around the edges, like it’s taking everything in him to pull away.
You blink, your chest rising and falling too fast, your body still too warm, your lips still too close. “Why?" It’s barely a whisper, barely a sound. Just breath and longing and confusion wrapped into one.
Jungkook exhales, his gaze flickering down to your lips for a fraction of a second before meeting your eyes again. “Because I want you sober when you finally kiss me."
Damn it, you feel that everywhere. Like a live wire against your skin. Like an ache settling deep in your bones. Like something dangerous, something fragile, something terrifyingly real.
You huff, shoulders slumping as the warmth of his words lingers in the tight space between you.
The weight of it settles deep in your chest, leaving you fluttery, restless, and entirely unsatisfied.
“That’s stupid,” you grumble, voice petulant as you sink further into the passenger seat.
Jungkook sighs, rubbing a hand over his face before shifting to unbuckle your seatbelt. “It’s not stupid.”
You pout, arms crossing over your chest. “It is stupid. Because I do wanna kiss you.”
His hand freezes. For a moment, you think he’s going to respond, maybe tease you, maybe say something to make this all feel less real, less loaded, less dangerous, but instead, Jungkook exhales, eyes flickering to yours, something unbearably soft in his gaze.
“You will,” he murmurs. “I promise.”
And for some reason, that makes your stomach twist even more.
Before you can dwell on it—or before you can embarrass yourself any further—Jungkook is stepping out of the car, rounding the hood, and opening your door.
You barely have a second to process what’s happening before his hands are on you, warm and gentle, lifting you effortlessly out of your seat.
You squeak, instinctively clutching his hoodie, fingers curling into the fabric. “Jungkook!”
He barely reacts, adjusting you against his chest like you weigh nothing. “You’re not walking up those stairs by yourself.”
You scowl, burying your face in his shoulder. “I could.”
He snorts. “Yeah, sure. After tripping over air four times tonight? Not a chance.”
You mumble something about him being dramatic, but you don’t fight him. Mostly because you don’t want to. Because the way his arms feel around you, the steady rhythm of his heartbeat against your cheek, the warmth radiating off of him, it all makes your body feel soft, pliant, safe.
Your apartment door unlocks with a soft beep, and before you know it, Jungkook is setting you down inside, his hands lingering at your waist for just a second longer than necessary before pulling away.
You whine at the loss of warmth. “You’re so mean.”
Jungkook sighs, toeing off his sneakers before nudging you toward the bathroom. “Come on. Skincare time.”
Your brows furrow as you blink up at him. “You know my skincare routine?”
Jungkook gives you a flat look. “Do you know how many times I’ve seen you do it? You talk through every step like you’re running a live tutorial.”
You gasp, offended. “It’s educational.”
He laughs, shaking his head. “Yeah, yeah. Sit.”
And somehow, he actually does it for you. His hands are careful as he applies each product, thumbs smoothing cream into your skin with a level of patience and concentration that makes your stomach flip. His brows are furrowed slightly, his bottom lip caught between his teeth, the sleeves of his hoodie pushed up to his elbows as he massages your face with way too much care for someone who pretends to be this cool all the time.
You stare at him, heart full, warmth buzzing beneath your skin.
When he finishes, he wipes his hands on a nearby towel, tilting his head at you. “Alright. Bed.”
You blink up at him and pout.
Jungkook’s eyes narrow instantly. “No.”
Your bottom lip wobbles dramatically. “You don’t even know what I was gonna say.”
“I do,” he deadpans. “And the answer is no.”
You sway toward him, fingers curling around the sleeve of his hoodie. “Stay.”
Jungkook sighs, long and heavy, rubbing his temple. “[Y/N]...”
You blink at him, playing it up, all wide eyes and softness. “Please?”
He groans, running a hand through his hair. “You’re not even gonna remember this in the morning.”
You nod too eagerly, holding onto him too tightly. “But I will remember sleeping alone and being so sad about it.”
Jungkook laughs under his breath, shaking his head, already giving in.
"Fine," he mutters, rolling his shoulders like he’s pretending this is a chore. "But I’m sleeping on the couch."
You beam. “Good enough."
And as you finally crawl into bed in the pajamas he picked out for you, warmth wrapping around you, Jungkook’s presence lingering in your apartment, you sleep. Peacefully and safely.
