//it was ok! i did have to go into work, but afterwards, i got some sushi and a dollar scratch off ticket. didn’t win anything on the scratch off ticket. then i came home and slept for a couple hours. didn’t get as much writing done as i wanted (F @ the onceler’s blog 😔) but that’s fine. i might try to make up for it tomorrow, but i’m not fussed about it.

now i am probably about to go to bed again lol

i don’t sleep well during the week, living by running an IV drip of coffee right into my bloodstream, so i make up for the lost sleep on the weekend usually.

How many ships do you have on this blog?

//honestly, not many, and mostly with the same people, haha!

i have two with @bystcrdust (maggie & ekko) and two with @bornchaos (brit & mamie). @spiriitum and i have just started on the jack frost/snufkin ship, but it may be too early to count that one.

bornchaos and i were supposed to have 3, as we were talking about shipping ekko with their oc as well, but he and cora kind of fell through somewhere during the plot, which is actually fine! i love the angst and drama of “failed” ships.

then i have cindy & timmy who i ship together lol... i don’t ship often, but when i do, it’s with myself! ;D i will reference cindy & timmy’s relationship quite a bit in threads, but i’m always willing to have them be platonic if someone else wants to ship with them instead.

i actually ship cindy a lot easier than i ship timmy, though. cindy is a lot more receptive to it. timmy doesn’t have enough softness to spend on anyone other than cindy, which is why i have his sexuality listed as “demi” and his shipping availability listed as “plotting only.”

Their child, a hybrid couldn't be killed so they gave her to Aziraphale. Aziraphale and Crowley adopted her and named her Kaia (they found things from Iriel and Arith that had the name Kaia on it and assumed that that was what they named her).

What arospec identities do they have?

snufkin: demiromantic, definitely. it takes a lot for him to get a crush and it basically never happens. which is precisely why he has only ever liked moomintroll.

little my: aromantic. doesnt know what the fuck a crush is. might say she has one or pretends to like someone because she thinks that she’s just supposed to, and might daydream about the idea of romance for the same reason (like in that one ep, yknow the one, where she says she and snufkin should date). but really she was just trying to conform to society’s expectations and is aro as fuck.

the joxter: grayromantic. this guy lives to sleep and fuck w authorities. doesn’t really pay attention to/care for romantic gestures, but acknowledges the possibility of having Feelings. he basically goes around not giving a fuck ever but had one (1) Free Fall In Love coupon that lasted forever upon use.

How proud of being arospec are they?

snufkin: he’s just chilling. kind of had a crisis when he realized he liked moomin, though.

little my: loud and proud, as mymbles are.

Do they prioritize their arospec identity over any others?

snufkin: in a sense, yes. it goes hand in hand with his nomad identity, living freely and not becoming too attached to people or things.

little my: yeah, i think it’d be her strongest identity, the one she feels most attached to. little my said feral aro rights

the joxter: nah, i wouldn’t think so. he wouldn’t really go for labels, either. i see him as a guy that would be like, not prone to romance/doesn’t seek it out, but also acknowledges the possibility. like i said, he’s got One coupon and is going to use it wisely.

Are they out? If so, how did they come out, and to whom?

snufkin: it’s a package deal with his general wandering philosopher character. so basically, yeah. it’s an easy assumption to make about him and not something he feels the need to come out and say.

little my: yes. she doesn’t care what people think about her and therefore is not afraid to announce it whenever necessary.

the joxter: he’ll say something about it if asked. maybe in an indirect way. to joxter it’s less of an identity and more of just how he is.

How do they feel about romance? Romance-favorable? Romance-neutral? Romance-repulsed? Or does it fluctuate?

snufkin: fluctuates a lot, depending on his mood. like i said, goes hand-in-hand w his entire schtick – he can easily start to feel trapped and forced into things, to which he becomes more repulsed and reclusive. when in a good mood, he’ll be more favorable. (that’s not to say he’ll always be repulsed when in a bad mood - sometimes when he’s upset, hugging moomintroll will always do the trick).

little my: when it comes to herself, repulsed. doesn’t want anything to do with it. when it comes to couples around her, she’s mostly neutral and can deal w it. if couples are being too lovey-dovey, though, she quickly tells them to stop it cuz it’s gross and makes her uncomfortable.

joxter: neutral-favorable. might be heard saying the phrase, “i’m not one for romance usually, but you never know.” if someone else shows interest in him he’d be quick to shut them down (in the friendliest but most curt way possible, i’m sure, as he’d probably immediately lay down for a nap to end the discussion). knows and accepts the fact that he may well fall in love with someone, though doesn’t expect it to happen.

Have they ever experienced arophobia? If so, how?

snufkin: for whatever reason, people like to pressure him into finding/forming relationships. or assume he has a partner. if he tells him that he’s not interested in such a thing, it’s quickly dismissed. “you’ll find someone you’ll want to settle down with someday” is a common one. which makes snufkin very mad for many reasons.

little my: will often get comments from adults about how she’ll “never find someone” if she acts “like that” (as in her regular feral “”unladylike”” character), to which she exclaims GOOD, because she wasn’t looking for someone anyway. she has also mauled snork on several occasions for similar reasons.

the joxter: not really. the fact that he’s super lowkey about it combined with his general openness to romance prevents people from reprimanding him about it (or at least his aro identity specifically - he still gets berated for being lazy, unhelpful, and uninterested in just about everything).

How do they show their arospec pride?

snufkin: in a really low-key way, if at all. perhaps he writes a song about it, but doesn’t really tell anyone what inspired it.

little my: by Making A Point whenever possible.

the joxter: by ignoring any person who shows interest in him, ever

Do they actively try to combat amatonormativity in their daily lives or elsewhere? If so, how?

snufkin: yes. when the opportunity presents itself he will preach about how you shouldn’t need a partner to feel fulfilled and yadda yadda

little my: absolutely. will go off whether it’s necessary or not.

the joxter: he’ll make his point but not spend too much effort doing so. he’s not gonna waste time and energy arguing about something.

Was it easy for them to label themselves arospec, or was there a long period of questioning? How many labels did they have to try before landing on the one they use now?

snufkin: he’s heard and tried many labels on his travels. he doesn’t actively like to label himself, of course, but it’s helpful to go through that process anyhow. it’s something he didn’t realize wasn’t normal. he thought it was weird that people fell in love so easily, and with people they hardly even knew. upon this realization he got mad that he was the one forced to label himself as different. he tends to stay away from labelling himself because it’s against his general beliefs, but puts demi in his back pocket just in case.

little my: i think so, yeah. she’d discover the label and quickly realize, “oh yeah, that’s me.” it may not have been immediate but it wasn’t a slow process, either.

the joxter: goes most of his life content without having a label. one day he finds out there’s a word and he’s just like “yeah” and that’s that.

Would they be interested in a QPR? Why or why not?

snufkin: i think so, yeah. he’d have one with moomintroll if he wasn’t comfortable with saying he’s “dating” or had a “boyfriend.” partner is a very suitable word to snufkin and people can make of that what they will. i think to snufkin, a qpr is basically the same thing as his idea of dating, just in terms he’s more comfortable with.

little my: perhaps. most likely not. she can’t imagine herself like that with anyone, really. she loves and cares for her friends/family but can’t see herself as that intimate with someone.

the joxter: i don’t think he’d see the point, since he’s open to romantic partners.

NAME: Jaakko Heikki Järvinen → officially Suomen tasavalta / Republiken Finland / Republic of Finland. Or Suomi/Finland, simple as that. NICKNAME(S): Jaakki, Jaakka, Jaska, Muumipappa. AGE: Physically he’s around 25 years of age, his real age is unknown due to vague dating of the past, probably around 1800-ish, give or take a century. Probably less than that though. GENDER: Cis male, masculine appearing. NATIONALITY: Finnish.

🌿 ━ A P P E A R A N C E .

EYE COLOR: His eyes are blue and one would call them icy [ LF-01 ] has it not been for a certain warm vibe they send out. They’re not hollow, neither are they two voids embed in their sockets. They’re tired but certainly not washed out of feelings or emotions. His eyes truly are the mirror of his soul, deep and enshrouded with a mist of ambiguity and yet if you’re familiar with him it’s unnecessary to ask him how he’s doing – you can read it all in them. HAIR COLOR: It’s not platinum blond, neither is it blond of dark hue. It’s somewhere in the middle [ or “Beeline Honey” here if you require a full name ]. It’s a color very pleasant to the eye, reminiscing the fields scattered all over the country. HAIRSTYLE: To put it simple, it’s messy. It’s most usual to see him with his hair parted in the middle of his forehead and running down a cascade of split ends, grim reminders of his famous and somewhat magnificent dreads he wore in the late 70s until early 90s and the fact that he’s perpetually at odds with probably every single hairdresser on this planet. It’s just not easy to trust someone with a sharp object in hand working around your neck. HEIGHT: He’s not short but he’s not the tallest either. He stands at 178 cm (or 5′10″). It’s not difficult for taller people to underestimate him and his abilities to wreck some shit despite not having several inches more in his height number. This has been a fair warning. WEIGHT: Last time he checked it was something around 90-92 kg (198-202 lbs). He just cannot deny himself something good to eat every now and then and this beer is just a bit too tempting to say no to it. BUILD: Because of the reasons stated above Jaakko is chubby and his cheeks are pudgy. Sometimes he feels a bit self-conscious about his appearance but it does not happen often enough for him to particularly care. He likes to joke that he’s as round and soft as a Moomin and he’s honestly not too far from being right. TATTOO(S): His most prominent ones would be a bear on his right arm and a piece of forest on his left leg. He also has two smaller tattoos, a ‘sisu’ written on his left wrist and a Snufkin on inner left forearm. Jaakko’s not planning on getting any more tattoos. SCAR(S): This is a touchy topic for him and confronted about his scars he’ll withdraw into himself and just leer at the asker if they’re not close enough to him (but those are familiar with the meanings and reasons behind his scars so no conversation about them should occur). There’s one on the central side of his chest, leaning a bit towards left side, just about where his heart is. This one tells a tale of losing Karelia in Winter War. The other looks more terrible and represents the loss of Petsamo, or Finland’s Left Arm, to Soviet Union in the aftermath of Continuation War. It’s a long and writhing around his left shoulder – just where the arm connects with the corpus – scar that resembles the loss of his entire arm for several years to come. On the side of his neck there is also an ugly scar he bears after having been shot in artery what caused instant death on the battlefield (also during Continuation War). If one is a careful watcher they might also notice a shot scar on his left calf during Civil War of 1918.

They’re his relatively fresh scars, otherwise he’s covered in more or less faded ones, products of endless wars conducted on his territories in the past. He’s not certain where each of them comes from anymore, there’s too many, especially on his back and sides. There’s also several cut scars on his hands, he practiced the knife game on his hands very intensely. PIERCING(S): He wears them only occasionally but he has at least one eyebrow piercing and an industrial in right ear, alongside a few helix piercings on both ear flakes [ here’s a picture with explanations in case anyone needs it ]. There’s at least one pair in his upper lobe, too. He used to wear a lip piercing as well but he sort of forgot and he’d have to re-pierce it if he wanted to wear it again. PREFERRED FASHION: A disaster. He’s actually quite happy with his thrift store clothes, only slightly modified by his Finnish sister figure or human friend so they fit him better or embrace his personal style and taste a bit better. He’s either wearing checkered shirts with jeans, black band shirts or your local grandpa sweaters. All together with just tragic socks someone should get rid of immediately. And crocs. Jaakko can dress properly when he has to but it’s always an adventure as well. There’s this one suit he has but it could as well pass for a part of a museal exhibition. TYPICALLY SMELLS LIKE: It’s usually his aftershave, soap he uses during morning shower and cologne – if he doesn’t forget about it. His natural smell could be described as this earthy smell that lingers in the air after the tempest in a birch forest; smell of fields of grain rippling in the wind; freshly baked crispy rye bread; tint of licorice, sea salt with faint alcoholic breeze accenting the whole. OTHER: He has several moles on his body, not too many, and mostly located on his neck and back. His right arm is stronger and longer a bit than left one which gets weary much faster than its right equivalent. His eyebrows are rather thick but not overly so, he’s more likely to be seen with some facial hair than with none at all. He enjoys simple jewelry and wears pendants such as Ukko’s hammer or a bear claw pendant.
