Yours For The Night

Mason Mount x Reader Fluff / Maybe a tiny bit angst-ish Word Count:

I loved the idea from the very beginning and I fell in love with the story and the characters very quickly while writing this so I hope you'll love it just as much. I'm rather proud of this one!

Being single at the age of 23 could be daunting. Not in principle, because at 23 there was still a whole life ahead of you, but when all your friends were in committed relationships whilst you weren't, the doubts started to set in.

Doubt that there actually was this one person who was only meant for you. Doubt that you would ever find someone who wanted you for who you were. Doubt that you were good enough.

Technically, there was this pretty simple solution to the problem: dating. However, you’d quickly realised that it wasn't that easy after all.

Looking around your circle of friends was out of the question as either they were all taken or they were so out of your league, that you hardly dared to talk to them even without the whole dating thing in the back of your mind.

And dating apps scared the shit out of you.

But if you didn't want to stay alone forever, something had to change. So after a lot of back and forth and a lot of convincing by your best friend Laure, you’d decided to take the risk and sign up there after all.

And that was why you found yourself in a nice, cozy restaurant on a random Friday evening with a handsome young man right opposite you. Dark hair steel blue eyes and a handsome smile: Ethan.

It was going great. Surprisingly so as you always thought of yourself as an awkward person when it came to first encounters, but either you weren’t half as bad as you thought you were or Ethan was very good in pretending.

Conversation was flowing freely, and you could’ve really enjoyed it if it wasn't for Lewis constantly calling you. It was the third time you rejected the call and apologised to Ethan before turning your phone around.

“You can answer that.”, he smiled. “Honestly, it could be an emergency for all you know.”

“No, I…it’s my best friend’s brother. They’re getting ready for erm…well something like a night out. He probably just wants me to approve of the outfits or something.”, you mumbled, cheeks red from embarrassment.

“Look, y/n”, your date sighed, and you feared the worst when he placed his hand over yours. “At this point, even I’d feel better if you answered and made sure everything’s alright, you know? C’mon, just call him back.”

You hesitated for a moment, wondering if he actually meant it or not because so far you really liked him and you didn’t want to mess it up, but Ethan’s reassuring smile convinced you eventually.

“Lew? You’ve called like 5 times, is everything okay?”, you asked once he’d answered the call after the first ring.

“Yes…no, I mean…it’s a little complicated. No one’s hurt, it’s just…”

“Just tell me, Lewis. What’s going on? Aren’t you supposed to get Mase ready for that gala?”

Tonight was Manchester United’s annual awards gala. You had no idea what exactly it was about, but Mason had told you that he was nominated for the New-Player-Of-The-Season award and as far as you were informed, he had to leave for that in about an hour.

“Yeah, that’s erm…look, I can’t explain that on the phone. Can you come?”

“What? No, Lew, I’m on-”

“I wouldn’t call if it wasn’t important.”, Lewis sighed. He sounded defeated and a little desperate and it appealed to your guilty conscience. He really wouldn't call if it wasn't important, you knew that and you felt as if you didn’t really have a chance to say no…

“Yeah okay.”, you agreed and after a few more words the call ended.

You sighed quietly, gaze dropping to your empty plate before you found the courage to look your date in the eye. “Look, Ethan, this erm looks really bad, I know, but-”

“It actually is an emergency, and you have to leave?”, he offered. The soft smile still on his face even after you nodded. “That’s fine, please don’t worry. I’ve been dumped for less, you know?”

“No, I…God. I’m so sorry. This really isn’t what it looks like. I-”

“I was joking, y/n.”, he laughed. “Honestly, it’s fine. You go and take care of that emergency of yours and I’ll message you so we can reschedule. Okay?”

“You’re sure?”, you pouted. “Because I really enjoyed today.”

“So did I. C’mon, off you go. I promise I’ll message you.”

Ethan even offered to pay for your drinks, so you could leave quickly, but you rejected his offer. The idea of him paying for the date when you had to leave less than an hour after you’d arrived didn’t sit right with you, so after you’d paid for your part and said goodbye, you rushed over to Mason’s.

As the restaurant Ethan had chosen wasn’t too far away from where Mason lived it took less than 20 minutes until you arrived. With shaky fingers you entered the code for the gate. Ignoring the fact you’d parked as badly as never in your life before, you jumped out of the car and made your way up to his front door.

“Hi, y/n.” Lewis offered a small smile, but it didn’t hide the distraught look on his face. “Thank you for coming.”

“Well, you said it’s an emergency.”, you mumbled as you followed him into the living room where Mason was slumped in the corner of the sofa. His white shirt wrinkled, hair looking as if he’d run his hands through it for the past 20 minutes and cheeks bright red.

You furrowed your brows at the state of your best friend.

“What’s wrong? He was so excited when I talked to him this morning. Also, where’s Alyssa? Wasn’t she supposed to be here already?”

Mason only scoffed at your words and mumbled something you didn’t quite catch under his breath.

Alyssa was his girlfriend of a few months now. From what he’d told you, they’d met on the set of the Nike shooting. She was some sort of assistant and with her witty and fun nature, had captured Mason’s interest straight away.

You’d only met her a handful of times, but she seemed decent and made your best friend happy and that really was everything you wanted for him.

“Actually, that is the emergency.”, Lewis sighed. “She’s not coming.”

“What do you mean she’s not coming? She seemed to be okay yesterday, is she sick or something?”

“No, she…she called him earlier and told him she won’t show up with him.”

Eyes widening, you stared at Lewis. Your tummy did a weird nauseating flip at his choice of words. She won’t show up with him. What was that supposed to mean?

“I…sorry what? I don’t get wha-”

“Well, she said that…erm…I don’t…” The way Lewis stumbled over his words had your heart sinking in your chest in fear.

Mason was a funny guy, someone who was rarely in a bad mood or sad, but you were close enough to him to know that deep down, his heart was pretty fragile. He was a sensitive person, took things to heart way too quickly and whilst he’d never admit that, his failed relationship before and the way some girls used him for getting some, had done some damage to his self-esteem.

“You can tell her, Lew.”, Mason laughed hollowly. “It’s not like I have to hide anything from y/n. She said I’m not fancy enough to show up there with me and that I’m too childish for her liking and that she'd rather save herself the embarrassment of being photographed with someone who doesn’t act like a grown-up half the time.”

The more he spoke, the more your heart broke. Not just because she’d said all that, but because you knew he believed it and with every passing second the anger grew in the pit of your stomach.

There were only a few things that made you furious, but people talking badly about Mason were where you drew the line and you had to take a couple of deep breaths to compose yourself.

Lewis seemed to notice the state you were in. With a gentle squeeze of your shoulder, he made you look at him.

“He doesn’t want to go anymore, and I was hoping you could talk to him? It’s his first gala and no matter how shit the circumstances, it won’t look good if-”

“I’m right here, you know? I can hear you.”, Mason hissed, rolling his eyes at his brother’s behaviour. He was over it. Over everything and all he wanted to do was get out of these clothes and into bed.

“You know what won’t look good?”, he asked with a sneer. “Me. Everyone’s bringing the missus. What’s it gonna look like when I don’t bring my girlfriend after I told them I would?”

“Mase, I’m sure there’s others who will attend alone.”, you said softly as you sat down next to him. Turning your body so you could face him a bit better, your hand found its way into his hair. “It’s not going to look bad or whatever you think it might. Didn’t you say Luke would come alo-”

“I’m not going, y/n.”, he huffed, pushing your hand away in annoyance.

“Mase, you-”

“No, y/n. I am not going. End of story.”, he hissed. “I will look like the biggest idiot. An empty seat next to me like…”

Knowing it would be a futile attempt to try and convince him to go alone, you shot Lewis a look. Wordlessly asking if he couldn’t just join his brother, but he shook his head.

“I have a meeting in an hour.”

“Look, there’s no need to baby me. I’ll just tell them I’m sick and stay back. They can hand me the award next week or something, it’s not that important.”

It was a lie, you knew that as you remembered how excited and over the moon Mason had been when he’d called you a few days ago to tell you that he’d won. He hadn’t stopped talking about how honoured and happy he was and it only made you even more furious. There was no way you’d let a shitty woman ruin that for him.

“You should go, y/n. Don’t you have a date to go to anyway?”

“Well, I actually was on that date when Lewis called.”, you admitted. The latter shot you an alarmed look.

“You didn’t say any-”

“I mean, you said it was an emergency, so I obviously left.”, you explained softly. You could feel Mason’s eyes on you before he dropped his head.

“You shouldn’t have, y/n.”, he sighed. “Maybe you can call him and see if he’s still free for tonight? Sorry for the fuss, I’ll just go and get changed.”

“Yeah, into a new shirt cause this one’s all wrinkled.”, you laughed quietly as you smoothed over the sleeve of his bunched-up shirt.

“I already said I’m not going, I-”

“Yes, yes you are, Mason.”, you smiled as you got up to stand in front of him. Hands out for him to take, but he only looked up at you with that stubborn look on his face. “This is such an honour for you and you were so happy about it and you won’t let anyone ruin that for you. Go and get changed.”

Wiggling your fingers, you eventually got him to grab your hands and get off the sofa, but he still shook his head. A sad smile on his face.

“y/n, I appreciate that pep-talk and you coming here, but I can’t go. I refuse to look stupid by showing up there all by myself.”

“Well, you won’t look stupid because you won’t show up by yourself.”, you smiled.

For the last two minutes you’d been racking your brain to find a solution, only to suddenly realise that the solution was actually hanging in the wardrobe upstairs.

“I still have my dress from Dec’s wedding in your wardrobe. I’ll be your plus one. If you’ll have me.”

Mason furrowed his brows. You could literally see the cogs turning in his head. “What? y/n, I told them I’ll bring my girlfriend.”

“Look, Mase this is a big night for you, and I don’t want you to miss it because of a stupid bitch. You told me they don’t know her and obviously they don’t know me either, so for tonight you can introduce me to them.”

You were aware that it sounded a little insane and the aftermath would probably be a little complicated, but you were willing to do it for him. He was your best friend and he’d worked hard for this achievement. He deserved the award, and you wanted him to show up there and enjoy the evening, instead of wondering what everybody thought about his missing girlfriend.

“y/n, that’s insane.”, he whispered, but in his eyes you could see the gratitude you’d even proposed it. “Are you sure?”

“I am, Mase.”, you smiled and when he pulled you into a tight hug and whispered a very quiet thank you, you knew he was sold.

As you’d already been somewhat dressed up for your date, it hadn’t taken you too long to get ready, so you and Mason managed to arrive at the venue on time.

“You’re ready for this?”, Mason asked softly once he’d parked the car.

He turned towards you a little so he could get a good look at you, his hand sneaking on your thigh to give it a gentle squeeze. Obviously, he was grateful you were doing this but at the same time he was also a little worried.

“We kinda have to pretend we’re a couple and I need you to tell me when it gets too much, okay? I don’t want you to be uncomfortable.”

“I could never be uncomfortable around you, Mase.”, you admitted, making him blush a little. “It’ll be fine. You’re my best friend, Mase. I trust you.”

After a few more words, he eventually got out of the car, rounded it and opened your door to help you out. You gladly grabbed his outstretched hand to avoid falling flat on your face in these murderous heels of yours.

“Ready to go and get to know everyone?”

You wouldn’t tell him, but all of sudden, your heart had stared to beat out of your chest from nerves. “What if they don’t like me?”

“That, my love, is a very ridiculous question.”, Mason laughed. He softly cupped your cheek with his hand to force your gaze on his. “They will obviously love you. You’re this kind and funny person and I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like you. Also they’re pretty fun to be around, you’ll get along with them just fine. Okay?”

“Okay.”

“I’ll be with you the whole time, I promise.” Mason kissed your forehead in reassurance and pulled back again to search your face for some doubts or worries, but much to his relief he couldn’t find any. Your bright eyes simply stared back into his.

“C’mon then.” He grabbed your hand in his, fingers hesitantly pushing in between yours and when you smiled up at him, his tummy flipped.

Fortunately, there were no paparazzi at the entrance, so you were able to slip into the restaurant unnoticed. The club’s own photographer Mick welcomed you and asked you to pose for a photo and without even thinking about it, you and Mason stood side by side and smiled for the camera.

His arm was wrapped around your waist and whilst he’d done that countless of times before, this time it felt a little more intimate. But maybe it was only because of the thought that for everyone else you looked like a couple tonight.

“Mase, hi.” Erik was the first to see the two of you. With a woman you thought had to be his wife, he came over.

“Hi, you’re alright?”, Mason smiled as he greeted his manager with a half-hug. “Erik, this is y/n.”

“Pleasure to meet you.”, you smiled, shaking his hand.

“Oh, it’s all mine. Thank you for taking such good care of him and supporting him. This is my wife Bianca.”

As you exchanged a couple of words with them, you felt Mason’s hand grabbing yours and giving it a gentle squeeze, wordlessly asking if you were alright.

The time until dinner passed surprisingly quickly. As promised, Mason didn't leave you alone once while you gradually got to know his teammates and their partners and although there was no real need for it, he always touched you in some way. His arm around your waist, his hand on the small of your back or his hand clasped tightly around yours with his thumb rubbing circles into your smooth skin.

The two of you were sat on a table with Rasmus, Christian and Victor and as they’d all brought their partners, you realised quickly why Mason had been so adamant on not going on his own. He definitely wouldn’t have looked stupid but knowing him he wouldn’t have felt comfortable at all, whilst now he was joking away with his friends whilst you got to know the other women.

Throughout the whole dinner you chatted and laughed with them and at some point you forgot that you weren’t actually Mason’s girlfriend and therefore wouldn’t be present for more of these events.

Mason on the other hand couldn’t stop looking at you from the corner of his eye. You looked beautiful in that dress he’d lost his head over on Dec’s wedding already and the way you smiled brightly and seemed to get along so well with everyone had his head spinning.

You weren’t his, he knew that, but he’d spent the last 30 minutes thinking about how you’d abandoned all plans to be with him and couldn’t help but be all soft for you. You’d left your date for him and even when he’d told you to message the guy, you’d opted to spend the evening with him.

After dinner there was still a little time before the awards would be presented and you’d decided to mingle with some of the other people around. You’d left Mason with some of his teammates to go and freshen up a little, but as you came back now, he seemed to be in deep conversation with Luke and you were unsure of whether to join them.

You’d clung to his side basically all evening as despite getting along with the others, you weren’t comfortable enough to be with them all by yourself, but you didn’t want to annoy Mason. He’d been pretty open with his touching behaviour, but there was still some hesitation from your side.

You scanned the room, thinking of just joining Laura for a chat, but before you actually could, Mason had noticed you and made eye contact. His signature smile ever present on his face. Slowly, you walked over, giving him the chance to shake his head no, but the closer you got, the brighter his smile seemed to get.

“Hi.”, he whispered when you cuddled into his side. “You’re okay?”

“Yeah, sure. Everyone’s really nice.”

“Told you.”, he chuckled before leaning down and kissing your cheek. It was something he’d sort of done before but this time, it made you blush like mad and when his arm snuck around your waist and pulled you into his side a little more, you had to drop your head to avoid Luke noticing how flustered you were.

Mason had always been a touchy person and you’d never paid much attention to it because it was just who he was, but tonight it was…more intimate, maybe even meaningful. You weren’t even sure if you were only fooling yourself, but it felt as if the air had shifted, and it was starting to mess with your head.

You’d never thought of Mason as anything else but your best friend, but now that it felt so natural to be with him, cuddle him and hold his hand, you couldn’t help but think of him as more than that. Especially, as you realised only today just how attuned you were to one another.

Pretending to be in a relationship was always risky as there were enough moments where one could slip, but for the two of you none of these moments had happened. Rather the opposite as it looked as if you’d been together forever.

Mason had you back to your table at some point as the awards were about to be handed out and when he was called up on the little stage to receive his well-deserved trophy, you had to wipe a few tears of happiness and pride off your cheek.

About an hour later, the evening was pretty much over. Most people had already left, and you and Mason had made it out too, but after spending all evening inside, you’d decided to stay outside for a little longer and go for a walk before driving home.

You hadn’t made it too far when Mason tugged on your hand and held you back. Confused, you furrowed your brows at him as he came to a stop and pulled you to stand right in front of him.

“I’m sorry I ruined your date.”, he said quietly. His big brown eyes were set on yours, apologetic and full of worry. “I realised I didn’t apologise for that before and neither for how I acted at home and practically forced you into this.”

Not really thinking about it – tonight had messed with his head a lot – he gently pushed a loose strand of hair behind your ear. His fingertips just about brushing over the soft skin on your neck leaving goosebumps in their wake.

“You don’t have to apologise, Mase.”, you smiled. “I actually didn’t mind it at all. I enjoyed tonight a lot.”

“Yeah?”, he whispered as a cute blush coated his freckled cheeks and the bridge of his nose. He wasn’t sure if you were referring to what it felt like to be with him, but deep down he hoped you were.

Staring into his eyes, you nodded slowly. Throughout the whole night, the air had shifted significantly and now it seemed to have found its peak. The eye contact was intense and made your tummy churn, but it was when Mason’s gaze dropped to your lips, that your heart flipped.

“Do you think, I-”

“Yes.”, you breathed, knowing exactly what he wanted to ask and when you tilted your head a little and Mason leaned down, your lips met in a shy and soft, but perfect kiss.

I had been waiting patiently for some time now. I used to struggle so much with sitting still, but Miss Carniscia makes it so easy. All day, little instant messages sent to the chatbox in my peripheral vision, love notes and commands for what to do next. Some of them are automated, I think, reminders to eat and take my medication, but plenty are handwritten just for me. She keeps me warm and fuzzy, sending me messages calling me cute, and telling me all of the… the things she’s going to do when she gets home… I can’t help but rub my thighs together. I know she’s very aware of the effect she has on me, and that only makes me more excited. I don’t answer much, other than short notes back. I get too flustered, and I can’t think good… clearly. I can’t think clearly.

I blink and move to the medicine cabinet like she says, taking out the pills she leaves me and swallowing. She could give me all of my doses herself, but she knows I like the schedule and the independence. Because I am independent, even if she has me living here until I can get back on my feet. I even signed those stupid “Floret” documents, just so I could get some better implants. Plus, it made her happy, and I really like Miss Carniscia. But, she’s assured me many times, as soon as I’m ready to be independent, I just have to step out of the front door. Then we can keep dating on equal footing. Like it should be.

Well, regardless, I took my lunch meds and ate some food, and I don’t have much else for today… I sit down in front of the door. The text readout in the corner of my eye says something, and I have to focus to read it.

-] Waiting by the door like a good little puppy… So adorable

-] xoxo. Good girl.

I feel a shiver run down my spine as I read it, and I feel that tingling metallic sensation when you start salivating heavily coat my mouth. I hate it when she teases like this. My hand wanders unconsciously to that spot between my thighs, the little miniskirt she keeps me in tented up embarrassingly… When I get an idea. Revenge.

I pick the little miniature device, no larger than the head of a pin, from behind my ear and toss it into the air. The small object, a camera and AR interface that I use (mostly because I have no pockets), floats and presents a little transparent interface. Camera app, selfie, timer… I strike my most adorable pose, making sure my tented little skirt is clear in frame but not quite centered, and let the camera click.

I hit send.

My breath catches. The hand between my thighs keeps moving.

Miss Carniscia walks up to her hab unit in an exceptionally bright mood. She steps up the three little stairs, built too large for Terrans to climb comfortably without help, walks to her hab unit, and stands in front of the door. She knows I can feel her bio rhythm, can anticipate exactly what happens next. She knows just how much I love it, too. How the wait, the game, the chase itself is addictive. I nibble at my bottom lip and stare at the door handle. I’m not sure if it’s the drug or the anticipation, but I end up drooling like a dog. Finally, finally, the door knob turns.

“Hello, my little petal~ Someone got too excited to wait anymore, didn’t they?”

I respond by pawing at her shins, a beautiful tapestry of leaves and flower petals, a form crafted lovingly in the pattern of a long flowing dress out of the anatomy of a carnation. I whine, any semblance of disobedience or pesky independence melted into a puddle of puppy-thoughts. I tell myself it’s the drugs. Of course she’d spike my medication, just to get me all stupid for her, keep me reliant…

“There’s my sweet little girl~... Well, unfortunately for you, my rosebud, you’ve already made quite the spectacle for your Mistress at work. I had to come home just to make sure you wouldn’t get into trouble! Don’t fret though, little one, Mistress has just the solution~”

I shiver in anticipation and nod, excited for what she has in store. The fear of being punished mixes beautifully with the thrill of being owned, only aided by the freedom of knowing I don’t have to pretend to be independent, to be strong. It’s the drugs! And that lets me give in, give in to her- wait, what is-

Miss Carniscia lets a long vine fall from her shoulder, snaking across the ground and slithering up my body. She takes special care to wrap it around my waist, my thighs, slipping under clothes and teasing me where I want it most-- My breath hitches and I shut my eyes tight. The vine wraps finally around my throat, restricting my breath to short, ragged gasps. She forces me head upwards, her hand tangling in my hair and yanking me backwards.

“Isn’t it so much better this way, pet? Mmmm… time for you to earn it, mutt.”

The whimper that escapes my lips is barely audible between choked gasps. She doesn’t bother to pick me up, just walking to the bedroom and dragging me behind her, vine wrapped around my neck as a makeshift collar and leash. I crawl after her as best I can, but stumble multiple times. She’s moving too fast- there’s a step going from the entryway into the hallway, and it’s too big for me to make smoothly. She doesn’t care, pulling me along behind her as I whimper.

“Come on puppy! You can do it, good girl~”

The praise is enough to keep me going. I crawl behind her and finally make it to the bedroom. I silently thank the heavens she doesn’t make me climb up onto the bed, it being as tall as I am. She lifts me and sets me down on the mattress

“Oh, what a good girl you are… Good job, little Petal, time for your reward!”

I sit on the mattress, kneeling in front of her as her form mutates, the leaves and flower petals that make up her beautiful dress morphing into a far more revealing evening slip. The vines around my neck slip down to my wrists and ankles, more long, green tendrils exuding from her body and wrapping me up. She used her hand to grab a collar off the desk, an inefficient gesture. She's being clear enough without speaking: She's going to tame me, at least for tonight.

I look up at her. It's all I can do, look up at her and plead silently. My tongue feels fat and imprecise, lolling and swirling lazily in my mouth without purpose. She laughs at me, gliding back to the bed with the collar in hand.

“You ought to know why I'm doing this.”

I nod.

“Say it, Petal.”

I open my mouth. A small croaking noise comes out as I try to remember how to speak, what muscles to tense or manipulate to form words without jawing at her like a pig. The clumsiness of my face makes me blush, feeling stupid.

“Poor thing. Take your time.”

“I-... I-- I'fve b-ben a bad gur-l…?”

The affini’s face lights up in joy, her face etched with pride and glee.

“Good girl!! That's right, you've been naughty, and now Miss Carniscia has to teach you a little lesson!”

“...I-Izzit gunna hurt?”

“Oh don't worry, petal, nothing you can't handle.”

I find myself nodding and kneeling to her, on my knees and elbows, lowering my head in submission. My thoughts are singular: I've been bad, and I need to be punished. I feel the collar tighten around my neck, and another pathetic noise escapes my lips. Then, the vines lazily wrapped around my arms and legs pull taught and spread me out on the bed, my legs hanging off the side.

“Now be a good girl and count for your Mistress.”

A second of confusion is quickly interrupted by the sharp feeling of a riding crop striking my ass, my skirt lifted up by a vine. The drugs make it hard to speak, but they elevate every light touch into a searing fountain of pleasure on my skin. It's hard to bear the pleasure, much less the pain. Every light strike feels like my body’s being ripped in to pieces, like a flaming hot whip being struck across my backside. I whimper, take a moment to gather my thoughts, and manage to stumble out some speech.

“O-o-one Mistress! I'm s-sorry Mistress!!!”

“Look at that, so obedient… Just how I like you. You didn't even need me to tell you, and you spoke your apology perfectly. Such a smart little puppy!”

The praise makes me nauseatingly happy, like I'll pass out from the sheer pride and joy I feel in my chest. Another strike crashes into me like a school bus.

“AHh- Two, Mistress! I'm s-so sorry Mistress!!”

“Good girl. Three more to go, my sweet flower.”

I bite down on my lip, but before I can fully sink my teeth down she worms a vine into my mouth, wrapping it around the back of my head like a gag. Because of this, I don't try to count the next intoxicating strike. This is a mistake.

After she hits me, she waits. Then, she hits me again. A whimper falls out of me, but the gag muffles it. She hits me again. I'm almost crying now. She leans down, inches, millimeters away from my face, and whispers into my ear.

“You'll have to do better than that, sugarplum. Count. We're still on number three, if you've lost track.”

I look up at her, tears brimming in my eyes, and nod desperately. There's some thing inside of me, some deep, buried fear of being bad, of being abandoned. I can't disobey. I cannot.

As another strike lands across my ass, now reddening and bruising, I try my best to scream through the vines that gag and bind me. The result is completely incoherent, but she seems to understand what I'm saying.

“Much better. Two left, puppy.”

I nod and close my eyes tight, ready to receive the same searing, agonizing pain. I'm not disappointed, feeling another sharp crack against my tender skin. I scream out my answer again, still hopelessly muffled. I thank the heavens and the stars that she's not testing coherence, just obedience.

“That’s four. One more to go, little one.”

The last whip is enough to send me over the edge, desperately crying and begging for mercy through the vines. She leans down, staring at my ruined form with unabashed glee as I whimper and writhe against the bonds, pleading for a shred of mercy.

“Don’t worry, little puppy, we're all done. You were such a good girl for your Mistress, weren't you- Oh look at that, you're so broken you think you have to keep begging! That doesn't mean stop, mutt. Beg for mercy~”

Finay the gag is removed from my face, and the blubbering words that fall out are a clear indication of how far I've gone.

“P-Please Mistress!!! W-won’t do it again, I'll be a good girl I promise!! I p-promise- Pleasepleaseplease-- I- I- I'm nothing- Just a dumb little mutt who gets confused but I'll be good for you- P-please--- N-nothing at the feet of my g-Goddess”

That final word causes her glowing eyes to dilate and her vines to wrap further around my body, her form stretching out and standing tall, her shoulder blades unfurling like great, massive wings, blocking the light from the ceiling, picking my body up like a limp ragdoll.

“Say that last part one. More. Time?”

I nod and stumble over the words.

“N-Nothing!! Nothing at the f-f-feet of my G-Goddess!!”

I see a shiver run through her body- A hunger I don't recognize spreads through every inch of her, and she looks back at me like a predator. Her words fall out as a growl, a deep, inhuman sound rumbling not from her mouth but from down, in the dark crevice of her chest, like her core is speaking straight to me.

“Good fucking girl.”

The vines around my body lay me down on the bed, not even bothering to flip me on my stomach. My heart is beating out of my chest, every nerve ending and vein in my body straining with an overload of input. I feel like my body is drowning in flames of pleasure as she rips off what little clothing I'm wearing. We've been together for months, we've had sex a few times but this… this isn't that. This is something different, something Terrans don't understand.

I think about protesting, about telling her no. I would, just to show I'm not yet hers, but… God it feels so good, it feels so so good and I don't want it to stop- I've already handed her my dignity, I see no point in protecting my freedom now. She speaks to me again, that same deep, terrifying roar.

“I am going to make you mine and you are going to stay that way.”

I whimper something strange and unlike myself, but as soon as I think to question it, I feel a dozen needles entering my stomach.

I was really just writing this so @transbianmuffin and @scribbled-dream could see it first! Gonna post it on ao3 soon but im not a huge fan of ALL the moots seeing my depraved hornyposting

Tbh I feel as whenever I scroll on social media I come across posts that either bordeline glorify and gentrify it while coming across as ignorant to queerness in general while also coming across posts that are so connivingly hateful and homophobic that it almost brings hate to a new meaning

Being gay has now become a normal thing due to social media, and I love it ! People now have access to likeminded creators while also having a better safe space

Now what's my problem w it ?

Well... While simultaneously creating a safe space it also creates terrible discourse. Thats right IM TALKING ABT THE SEXUALIZATION OF THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY 🗣️🗣️🗣️

Firstly, BL has always been problematic. Often created by straight women to appease to straight women, it usually poses heteronomative gender roles onto two men, the uke often being more effeminate and submissive and ugh the seme..... Anyways, its spice is it's inherently taboo love of two boys being together, yet it's somehow gentrified into 'oh daddy alpha' seme and 'itty bitty y/n' uke

And over pandemic bl has become mainstream. Dont get me wrong I'm all up for gay rep but not all press is good press. It creates a misguided image on mlm relationships, making them seem as simple as 'we're both boys' and then then the pretty shorter boy bounces on the ceo like chicken jockey

BL not only sexualizes gay men for the straight eye but paints harmful stereotypes for them as well.

This is also a common problem in wlw spaces as well, but its been fetishized and both extremes.

For one you have girls who say 'it must be so easy to date a girl !', or that when they have a lesbian or wlw friend they go 'do u think I'm hot ?', and then thered the straight men fetishizing wlw relationships or remarking that they just havent met the right guy

Queer women as a whole has been sexualized FOR DECADES, and a lot of lesbian films also tend to cater the male eye while trying to appear progressive. But those also tend to stereotype wlw relationships as tomboy and femme, yet again a victim of people pushing their heternomative standards on queer people 🤑🤑

Both of these is just eensy tiny bitty part of the iceberg, and these are complex issues that can't be discussed on one tumblr post

I havent even talked about the infantilazation of trans men and harassment of trans women

But I dont have personal experience nor enough knowledge so I will not attempt to touch it

Now, the root of all my problems, tik tok.

Though the upsides certainly outweigh the downs, it still doesnt erase the sheer stupidity I see on that god forsaken app.

Things like straight sexual, (???) Lesbian aesthetic, asking creators online (WHOM ARE REAL PEOPLE) if theh top or bottom, etc etc

Because while simultaneously normalizing it, the priveleged now want a taste of our tasty poor people gay lobster

Clearly there's no clear solution to this, but if we talk about it, surely someone would be able to offer a remedy soon enough

What are you waiting for?

As I said before and I'm gonna keep saying out loud. Shout out to @earlgreylatte who started with this! Such an inspiration to write this! I didn't have the courage to write something like this until I saw the fanfic she wrote and I love it!

Warnings: Okay, this might be a long intro but first of all, I wanted to read the whole comic to understand some stuff about the characters and in the current number which published on this wednesday, I got myself inspired by the love situation in Invincible between Mark and Eve before staring to date. So there might some of you who know about the comic but in case you don't, this is gonna have some spoilers from Radiant Black #30.5, #31 and #32. But in case, here's a recap about what's been going in the comic recently under the song , so I hope you guys enjoy this! (also, english is not my native language so in case there's some missing words let me know)

CW: Reader is female, spoilers from the comic (specially issue #30.5, #31 and #32), fluff, friends to lovers, Marshall being a nervous little dork, Eva encouraging Y/N to confess her feelings (she only knows this secret), mentions failing dating, a scene reference to Invincible from season 3 (only the first episode) , mentions of explicit blood (a little bit), swearing, a bit of unrequired love, Reader has a cat.

It's been five months since the Primer Invasion in Chicago, some people are trying to adapt in a new enviroment because of the robots attack . Luckily, the Radiant team and some other heroes were able to fight back and protect the city.

So ever since what happened with the two timelines, the other Marshall (who became the "evil" Radiant Black) gave Marshall Prime an advice once they were in his universe "Don't screw this up with her" before disappearing from existence. What did he mean by that?. Marshall was confused until he saw your body on the ground bleeding besides Eva and Satomi, wondering if he was responsable for the damage in that world.

Anyways, everybody are back into their normal lives back again...Well, maybe except for Marshall. Nathan moved back to L.A so Marshall works as the permanent Radiant Black now; which is not an easy job rebuilding the city after the Catalyst War and balance your dating life at the same time. Right after dowloading a dating app founding a match regardless of having feelings for you because he's afraid something could go wrong, blaming himself; so what a good way to keep you save by going out with someone else.

It was a quite night, working a little bit late while listening to some relaxing music at home eating some spaghetti, until you saw a portal opening.

"Hey, sorry to interrupt", Eva said holding a paper bag on her hand. Like if you weren't used to her coming into your house through a pink portal. Nothing unusual.

"Hi, Eva. How's it going in Paris?", you respond with a mothful of spaghetti dropping your fork on the plate.

"Oh you know, the usual", she says sarcatically while you laughed lightly. Like if it wasn't something a big of a deal. "I just got from Marshall's house to get my lunch" you paralyzed the moment Eva says his name "Heard he was back from a date with someone".

"Oh...I see" Eva looks at you thinking about a solution to your bleeding heart, Even though wondering what could you possibly see in him. "I think it's not gonna last for another one, if you ask me", she says trying to find a way to make you feel better. Or even lifting my hopes up.

"Have you talk to him lately?" Eva asks because...it's been some time since your last conversation, you've tried to grab lunch with him but his phone is always beeping coming from a person who need Radiant Black's help, or it was just him bringing always an excuse "Ah...no, not really. I kinda feel like he's avoiding me for some reason"

"Look, if none of you make a move, I'm gonna go crazy for it" The way she moves her hands over her in with a small "Boom" makes you smile a little. "But...in case he doesn't get a chance with you, I'll steal you first" She hugs me which made a chuckle comes out of my mouth.

"Ha ha ha...thanks, Eva. It makes me feel better" You wipe your tear drop from all that belly laugh. Eva opens another portal to Paris.

"I'll see you around, in case you need any help with your "unrequired love" just let me know" You chuckle in response "Promise to bring some croissants tomorrow" She says opening a portal "Okay...thanks, Eva" You speak you before she step up back to Paris "Gotta go, bye-bye" The portal shuts down once she enters waving her hand as a "see you tomorrow"...but she's right. You gotta do something about your feelings.

The next day right after work, with Airpods on your ears listening music on your way home someone bumped into you without expecting a familiar face...

"Ow..." you groan in pain once your butt is on the ground.

"Oh no sorry, I was in a hur-Hi..." Marshall says nervous once helps you out by taking your hand.

"Hi yourself. Wasn't expect to see you around" You speak up taking your hand so you could move your hair away to see him closely.

"Ha ha ha...you know, I've been...busy" Marshall gulps nervously looking into your eyes.

"I know, no need to explain what you've been up to this days. I´ve seen the news" You said already knowing he was Radiant Black. Kind of a funny story of how you found out. Well, if it wasn't because of the time Nathan was in a coma, so who else have known about this "little" secret besides his best friend? Who was also missing for a few days for no reason at all? Yep, Marshall told you "everything". He felt like a total douchebag but he wasn't that bad...Or is that what you think?

"Look, I know we haven't been..close this last few days. So I-I was...thinking...Maybe, if you want, we could...go out sometime" Marshalls scratches the back of his neck with his left hand,

"Wait, are you...asking me out?" You speak up agreeing on hanging out with him, searching for words he's afraid to say out loud.

"I mean...Yeah, it's just that...I don't wanna leave you hanging anymore." In just a blink of an eye, you gasped wondering what he meant by his words "What? Leave me hanging? Uh, you asked me out"

"No, I-I-I meant..." He takes a deep breathe before start to explain the truth "Remember the other me I told you about?"

"Yeah" You said raising an eyebrow questioning "What are you trying to say?"

"He said..." He chuckles nervously, his palms were sweating. "He said he always loved you. And knowing it was too late for him to say it back, so he told me I shouldn't screw this chance with you"

"I'm sorry, let me get this straight. So you're only asking me out now because the other you, who is not you, told you not to screw it up with me?" You said upset connecting the whole plot, with the present.

"Wait, uh, no, that… that’s not it."

"Did you have feelings for me even before you met him?" You cross your arms while you tried to find an explanation.

"I-I mean… Of course."

"Or are you only here because you feel sorry for me?"

"Oh, God, no. I… That’s not what I meant. I…" He hesitates.

"I'm such a fool...I can't believe a get myself caught up in this" You said frustated.

"Wait! Just...shit" Marshall complained in a small whisper but you ignored him.

"I've heard enough" It was dissapointing; you walked out without noticing the small tears on your eyes, to know he only knew about your feelings for pity. Needing a moment to be alone

The night came out again, so you didn't have any plans in mind. Unless watching a movie with a bottle of cheap wine in hand eating freshly baked croissants (courtesy of Eva) on your comfy pajamas. Tonight, you were sleeping earlier with your cat until...someone knocked at your door.

So, you opened it. A surprise awaited you...

"Oh, it's you..." You said a bit upset seeing Marshall on your doorstep holding a bucket of your favorite flowers in his left hand. His grey coat and hawaiian shirt make

"Look, I know I messed up so bad..." He says again trying to fix up his mistake. "I've done everything to forget about you after what the other me said, protecting you from me...from hurting you"

You gasped watching regretment in his eyes. Maybe you were too harsh on him, not realizing the consequences of his words and actions after all he's been through, saving his best friend, his work, everything. Blaming himself for something that happened elsewhere

"I've dated so many girls tonight and none of them are you. I'm an idiot for not realizing it sooner. If you don't wanna date me or..." You interrupt him, not thinking twice, you hugged him smashing the flowers between your chests.

"I'm sorry...I know you're doing the best as a friend and as a hero. I love that. But that other you, wasn't you" Taking his right hand intertwining your fingers together. "What are you waiting for? Are we dating or what?"

"Yes! I-I-I mean...if you want to, I definitely want to" He stutters nervously while you giggle a little bit, not realizing how close you got between your mixing breaths.

Marshall makes the first move by kissing your lips sofly, tasting the wine, almost silken parted slightly. Moving a strand of hair in your ear. Until...

*D-D-DING*

A sound came out of Marshall´s phone, he saw you looking with a flushing red face, raising eyebrow, he knew your words without telling.

"Go, but you still owe me a date."

"You're way too good for me" He says before leaving a peck on your lips summoning his suit flying away, blowing a kiss in the air with his helmet on.

At first, you fell for him...but he fell harder...

Extra:

Eva came out through a portal outside of your house, but she hide quickly watching Marshall kissing you, taking a picture on her phone to remember the moment.

"Holy shit..." She says whispering. Tomorrow, she was going to have an interesting talk with you.

Note: While writting this OS, I was thinking about a Sabrina Carpenter song but...Later on with the direction it was taking, I decided to change the song into "What are you waiting for?" from d4dv (which released this friday). I thought it fits more with the plot. Hope you guys enjoy it :)

I do think organizing around Palestine is a factor in the government going after tiktok but, well, the government has been going after tiktok… since tiktok blew up in America and I think it’s important to recognize at as essential as the Palestine bit is, it’s also to recognize the bigger piece of the possible is Sinophobia and that being an “easy” rallying point for everyone’s bases in an election year. Not to mention pandering to older people who hate things that represent “the youth” and the places they blame for radicalizing them.

Cause tiktok, instagram, tumblr, and even parts of reddit (though many subreddits ban anyone who even criticizes Israel) all have large bases organizing for Palestine. But tiktok is the only one owned by a Chinese company—fearmongering about China and communism has been a tactic for both parties for a long time now.

That’s also why their “solution” is force the sale from a Chinese company—they don’t care if tiktok still exists and is used by kids or whatever, not as much as they care about putting China (or something REPRESENTING China) in a Catch-22. Force the Chinese company that owns Tiktok to sell and take China lose a huge financial asset and global influence. Or let them refuse, imply it’s because the app rly is a tool of the CCP, and then kneecap tiktok’s market, again hitting them financially and in terms of influence.

I’m rly not trying to diminish the anti-Palestine sentiments that are absolutely emboldening this move but anti-tiktok moves have pre-dated the recent organizing.

I think it’s important to call out sinophobia and how many people are cheerleading this move because “fuck China.”

And how this is just the easiest gateway into censoring other parts of the internet, setting a precedent, laying the foundation on an already hated app/website to make room to attack less controversial places.

There are many factors to this but this is the biggest one and the easiest way to sell to the average constituent.

New in Writing Analytics: The Draft Library

I haven't posted much recently, and this is why. I've been working on a massive new feature for Writing Analytics. It took way longer than I expected, but it's ready now. And I'm so happy with how it turned out.

Previously, the app only had a chronological list of all your writing sessions. This works fine when you work on a single project, mostly first drafting. However, when you write a lot of stuff, it's easy to lose track of what you did when.

The thing is, people write a lot of stuff in WA. This feature was badly needed for a long time — my first sketches date back to August 2022. I'm glad I didn't build it back then because the idea wasn't fully formed yet. I found the right solution a few months ago and started working on it.

Introducing the Draft Library

One great thing about the library is that it's pretty self-explanatory. It's where your projects and drafts live. Projects behave like folders. You can drag them around to rearrange them. Click on a project to see the drafts inside.

When you open a draft, you'll see its text and some basic stats. Figures like the word count and how much time you spent working on it across all your writing sessions.

Creating new sessions has also changed. I broke the form down into a few steps. It's now way easier to select a project and join a challenge.

This brings me to my favourite new feature: colour coding! You could always set colours for projects, but this is mainly to distinguish them on your dashboard.

Now, you can colour-code drafts in the library as well. Make published drafts green and drafts that still need work red?

Or, when working on a more complex story, you could colour-code different chapters based on the PoV characters or track interweaving threads of the narrative. The possibilities there are endless!

Idk about you but my biggest kinda like headcanon about my guy Miguel is that Peter buys him a bunch of those comedy shirts and gives him pictures of Mayday along with little gifts and stuff and that he keeps ALL of them. Like he defo has a little cupboard or something dedicated to them. Yk what I mean?? He probably has a little shrine for Mayday, dare I say. Did you see the way he held her in that one atsv scene where he was introduced to Miles, and how he only gave her back when she had reached for Peter?? Ugh. I’m melting into a puddle on the floor.

I’m gonna sound like an absolute maniac here talking about Miguel because he’s genuinely a massive fixation of mine but carrying on what I said in the last post, it would be insane if he didn’t get a redemption arc or got shunned as the bad guy over and over. Having a daughter disappear in your arms is probably one of the most traumatising things to happen to someone. We got build up, build up, build up and then the climax of the problem, but no solution. What will the solution be?? Sony??? Hello??? They CANNOT leave us hanging like that.

Honestly it’s really hard to hate ANYONE in the spiderverse movies. I saw a tumblr post the other day where someone said that everyone in the movies were depicted as real people, with an equally complex story, so it’s more difficult to hate them. I agree with it 100%. Yeah, Miguel was really horrible to Miles and the others and they deserve a massive apology but Miguel also probably shuts himself away instead of talking to people, so he feels combined guilt and also stress because he just never talks about it. Anyone would snap like that. I really hope we get to see a softer side of him, or like you said: a heart to heart talk to someone or even to himself so we can understand him more. Maybe we can get a little insight of what happened in his original universe after he left to be a dad in the other one???

followup fun facts about together, to that promised aquarium

this is gonna be just kinda a disorganized post of random things so uh. dont mind that.

the event title is actually a double reference ^^ its both a callback to 1dt with 1c promising to find time to do things as friends despite getting busier (even if theres no ichika this time), and also a reference to harusakis first kizuna!

colopale you still havent given us that aquarium they said theyd go to. theres a reason i had to do it myself. the fact that theres not an aquarium event in general is a crime tbh i know theres some romantic connotations with a pair going to an aquarium but theres very easy solutions to avoiding that? sending a group of 3+ characters together, having them run into other characters while there, inviting someone else along (even if they cant go, it helps make it feel more like a friend thing i think). i did a bit of the latter two, as you mightve noticed! in general though its just SUCH an obviously fun event theme i cant beleive we havent had one yet

while i am a known harusaki shipper, i kept the story pretty light on the stuff that could be read as explicitly shippy, since when im trying to make fake events, i like to think about how itd work in canon, which means keeping it low on explicit ship content. plenty of stuff that could be taken as ship food (as id like it to be!) but nothing that would alienate non shippers from enjoying the story too.

i actually didnt write shizukasas presence as intended for ship content at all though, but im definitely okay with people taking it that way lol they can be on a date too if you want them to be. my plan with them was simply theyre childhood friends too but dont get to spend time together that often anymore -> their schedules line up with a free day and tsukasa heard about the aquarium from saki, decides to invite shizuku to go there with him as a part of hanging out together -> surprise encounter with harusaki!

also both of them were scoring quite high on the form when i decided to lock in the lineup (tsukasa was absolutely sweeping the 2* category, and while shizuku wasnt winning anything, she was a pretty popular choice) and theyre very easy to work into a story together and also into a story that is focused on harusaki (╯▽╰ ) the benefits of siblings and unitmates

(tsukasa 2* poll sweep at the time of me solidifying my lineup)

the event and gacha names actually both came to me one night while i was about to fall asleep. struck by inspiration so strong i had to grab my phone and write them down in my notes app. and they actually worked very well! also heres the transparents of the logos if you want them i guess

the card/skill/costume names also mostly came to me in similar ways, in the last couple nights before i finished everything. i think only saki, luka, and shizukus skills didnt come to me that way.

while the rui fish in tsukasa card might be obvious, theres actually more animals referencing other characters too! theres a group of three fish in sakis card that are the colors of the rest of leoni, the sneakiest of the bunch, and also not quite as sneaky but maybe not as obvious as the rui fish is the airi and minori sea slugs :)

i did think about giving tsukasa fish to be emu and nene too, but that many differently colored fish in a 2* seemed like too much, so i didnt do it... at least of the units involved, 2/3 of them are fully represented in some way!

and now most importantly probably, is that this is in fact my second pass at an aquarium event! the original one i started back in 2022 and......... i think you guys can figure out why i couldnt just reuse it when i decided to go for making an aquarium event again this time.

yep, youre seeing that right. 4/5 of the characters i chose are the same as what ended up being 1dt, all i got wrong was the vs. thats pretty crazy, honestly. im still not fully convinced colopale isnt just stealing my ideas after val3 happened too /j

it was also saki focus actually! i had written out a rough idea for the story back then too, and while theres some similarities to the current one, it obviously went through a lot of changes when revising the lineup and also with everything that has happened in the story over the past two years. it was definitely a bit more explicitly shippy than my new attempt, although i still tried to keep the shipping stuff toned back somewhat

i only ever made one card for that set though, just lukas 2*... but thats the original reason i made the old 2* backgrounds! its always those fake events throwing me into the graphic design trenches (fist shake) i had been trying to do a more canon-accurate style to......... mixed success. its not terrible, but i definitely could not have done the full set like this. theres a reason i did promised aquarium in my own style!

the original theme for the set was kind of like..... performers at an aquarium? along with living water sculptures of animals. it was a fun idea, but i think i was much better suited to doing the underwater scenes of promised aquarium and also we have plenty of performance themed trained sets already ^^

considering i also technically kept her from the original set (plus she was also winning the vs poll), i gave her a higher rarity card this time around for fun. and also because i knew none of shizuku tsukasa or luka would have super significant roles in the story, and i thought it would be fun to design a lim hairstyle for her!

one final random fun fact: the thing that kicked me into gear making promised aquarium was the fact that haruka wasnt on beautiful sound. i was just a little mad that they had an underwater set WITH A PENGUIN COSTUME and there was no haruka. sometimes petty beef brings out my craziest motivations and then i proceeded to spend the better part of a month planning and making it happen.

Wow, a couple of my posts have got popular recently. Hello, new people! I'm an autistic trans man with ADHD, a diverse array of other health issues and disabilities, and no money! 😘 This is a sideblog so you won't get any follows or comments from this url, but I appreciate you for being here. I figure I'd better make a pinned post since a lot of the same things come up frequently in replies and I might save some folks some time:

I'm not in the US. I am from there but I've lived in central Europe for over 15 years now. A lot of stuff is different here. I know a lot of folks reading this blog are in the US or UK and a lot of folks try to make suggestions for some of the troubles I have but 99% of the time it's something that's ubiquitous in the US or UK but straight-up not available here whatsoever. I appreciate the intent, but if you see a really simple, easy solution to a problem I post on here, odds are I've thought of it, I've investigated it, I've tried it, and it's either not available or it doesn't work for me for one reason or another.

Things that aren't available here include air conditioners, box fans, square hepa filters, most dating apps (in fact most apps in general), a lot of streaming services, many types/brands of medication and types of medical equipment that are super common in other countries, Amazon (seriously), Etsy, and a lot of other online shopping sites, a truly incredible number of food and drink items (especially processed or pre-made ones), and most social groups/clubs/events (at least ones accessible to an English speaker). (And much, much more!)

I have a lot of medical issues which I sometimes write about here. I don't necessarily explain everything in every post because that would mean writing a novel every time, but since people keep asking, yes, I know what EDS is, yes, I know what MCAS is, yes, I am investigating these possibilities along with many others with my doctors, but it is an obscenely slow process. This country has a serious lack of specialists in a lot of conditions that are lesser-known or which have only been properly understood in recent years. Overall the medical system here is quite good and I can go to almost any doctor and get almost any of the medications available in this country without paying anything, but that comes at the cost of a language barrier and a lot of outdated diagnostic standards for particular conditions like autism, ADHD, and the aforementioned EDS and MCAS. In short, I'm working on it, but my options are limited and the process is slow.

The disability system is also different here. I know the system in the US is horrific and my heart goes out to everyone struggling to survive in it. Fortunately it is better here. It's a very long, slow process to get approved (mainly because you have to get a pretty significant paper trail first, and the lack of specialists means it can take months to get appointments), but approval is based mostly on the recommendations of doctors, the amount you get is calculated based on your income and how much working capacity you have lost, and it does not carry restrictions on how much money you are allowed to earn or have at any time. I am currently in the process of trying to get some benefits but it is likely to take another year if not longer.

If other stuff starts coming up frequently in comments and replies, I'll add answers here. For now, thanks for reading what I have to share and for the kind words (and kind attempts to help) that many of you have left me. I hope that what I write is helpful to some of you. It's hard to find time and energy to write a lot at the moment, but I will try to post more, since it's clear that a lot of people relate and are looking for more of what I have to share.
