Some of my favorite doodles from my headcanon/redesign concept sheets used as an excuse to list my headcanons about the main six (for an AU that I'm writing)! More under the cut!

Charlie Morningstar:

She's way more hot-headed than in canon, albeit still keeping her cheerful and gentle persona.

She loves food, and she's always hungry. I always loved the trope of protagonists (both male and female, like look at Goku himself, Usagi Tsukino or Minako Aino) and I think it could fit Charlie perfectly!

She loves planning (and this is already canon) and she has a lot of stationary gadgets. "Sure Alastor, you can borrow any pen! ... Not that one! :D" And takes good care of them.

Her birthday is February 29th. I thought that it wouldn't be strange if her birthday ended up being that day if she follows a demoniac calendar...

Vaggie:

It's canon that she likes everything to be clean and organized. I think she would help Niffty with the rooms and everything! They bond!

She and Angel Dust absolutely have BFFs vibes. Before Hazbin Hotel I remember they were meant to be a couple, but with the new canon they're still adorable as best friends and I love the dynamic more. They get into fights but it's never anything serious, they look like a big brother and a little sis, even though sometimes she definitely acts as a big sis to him. Angel sees Molly through her :(

As we know she doesn't really believe in herself, but she actually makes a very good leader!

In my fanfic, contrarily to the series, she was really fighting with burning hate towards the angels that cast her out. She holds a deep grudge and it's hard for her to come out of it. (I want Out for Love to be useful, it's my favorite song ç_ç)

Her name as a human was Agata Flores, she was born the 28th of June in 1993. If we still count 2014 as her death and if she was once a winner that then became sinner... my headcanon is that she died of a hate crime in March 25th 2014, aged 21.

Angel Dust:

He's not in drag 24/7. He really is feminine, but sometimes likes to try masculine outfits too. (which make Husk wonder "why am I staring??")

He's secretly a nerd. Or not so secretly. He owns video games, and especially likes RPGs and life sims.

He overanalyses everything. Well, almost everything but still. He actually likes reading, and this led him to analyse anything that comes into his eye. (Oh, I can't wait to write one of those scenes because I already had fun outlining it LMAOO)

He's probably Charlie's food buddy. Give them some food and they'll be happy (Valentino doesn't like this but get screwed Val, give him food too)

His name as a human was Anthony (canon) Cavallaro and had Neapolitan heritage. He's born in April 1st (and this is canon) 1912, he died of overdose (canon) in October 11th 1947, aged 35.

Alastor:

I loved his pilot persona more than the series', and most of the things are confirmed canon... but I do have some headcanons for him, too! (also yeah I don't think that will be my last radioapple drawing or doodle lol)

We know he either doesn't sleep or sleeps with his eyes open. Well, I imagine him that in the few rare occasions he actually sleeps, his radio works as a mental surveillance "camera". Also, he's a light sleeper and would definitely go "Do you fellows mind? I'm trying to sleep." like the old man he is.

I would like to explore Alastor's feelings for Charlie more, and how he sees her as a daughter. While we may not know if he was telling the truth, I think they both seeked each other as a fatherly and daughter figures in a way. Many in the fandom headcanon Alastor's father to have been shitty to him. If he truly sees Charlie as a daughter, it could be because he would like to be a better father than the one he had, and since he never had children, he grew affectionate to Charlie as such.

He knows how to handle alcohol well, but I like to think that when he's really drunk he doesn't even know what he's doing. Oh, you saw him playing with Angel's Nintendo Switch? He even brought it into his room to continue playing Animal Crossing by himself? He was totally wasted.

His name as a human was Alastor (which is apparently canon, but I wonder if it'll be retconned or not?) Boudreaux-Alexander. Boudreaux was his father's last name, Alexander was his mother's. He didn't like his mother taking her husband's last name and wanted to keep his mother's. He was born in March 7th 1901, and died in August 4th 1933, aged 32, after being shot by a hunter that confused him with a deer and was mauled by dogs afterwards. (Yikes, I'm so sorry)

Niffty:

She definitely has written lots of fanfics about her fellow hotel friends. Especially men. Yet, she loves Charlie and Vaggie too, so they're there as well.

We know both Niffty and Husk have deals with Alastor. She loves them both, I love to headcanon that when she feels lonely and can't sleep well or had nightmares, she either goes to Husk's or Alastor's room to sleep with them. They welcome her warmly ç_ç

Alastor and Husk most definitely know Niffty's story, which is why they care about her so much. She's childish for her age, but it could be tied to a past that only the two of them know very well.

Niffty knew Vox when they were alive. Now I know it could be a weird headcanon since Niffty is Japanese and Vox is American, but if Niffty's work brought her around the world it wouldn't be weird if they crossed paths. When Vox died Niffty was 19, she either saw him die in front of her eyes or something else happened.

As I mentioned in my concept sheets, she used to wear glasses when she was alive so she can't see really well without them after she died. Sometimes she borrows Alastor's monocle, and if we apply the headcanon that he's colorblind, without his monocle not only he can't see anything but can't even see colors LOL

Her name when she was alive was Sachiko Tanaka, born February 27th 1934. She died September 1st 1956, aged 22, there are popular headcanons about the way she died and yikes, if it's true she didn't have a good death either. Not at all.

Husk:

Maybe I'm overanalysing but what if the reason why he grew affectionate to Niffty was because he once had children? Or just one? Either he had a child and was with him but felt like he wasn't a good father or his ex-wife left him because of his gambling addiction and this made him feel guilty, not able to see his child ever again. (I feel bad just thinking about this but ç_ç)

Despite the fact he hates being on a leash and none other than Alastor's, he actually cares about him. If the two were friends when they were alive (including Mimzy), this could explain why he's still around Alastor even if reluctantly. (Sure he says he's forced, but in the pilot Alastor summoned him, so it's safe to assume either Alastor-Husk-Niffty were roommates before coming to the hotel and did their business without telling Alastor, or simply we need more explanations of Alastor's deals)

His name when he was alive was Ivan Goncharov, born January 29th 1900, and died in December 23rd 1967, aged 67. As I mentioned in my concept sheets, he was friends with Alastor and Mimzy when they were alive and he was the last one of them to die. He would often visit his friends' graves when he was still alive :(

One of the main reasons I love things like Reverse Robins AUs, is how they can help you figure out what's important to a character, and then look at those things through a fun house mirror to learn them better.

This is why my new favourite Reverse Robins concept is Tim, the second Robin, dying protecting a 4 year old Dick Grayson and his parents from the Court of Owls.

Part of why he dies is that Damian has made showing weakness so painful that he doesn't call for help. Dick leaves Gotham with his parents and gets another 5 years of happiness before they're killed by Tony Zucco. Tim becomes a Talon. He becomes active in Gotham when Jason is 16, and nobody knows who he is until Dick has become the newest Robin and the Court sentences Batman and Robin to death, a year and a half later.

Things that I find really satisfying about this idea:

It keeps the canon Dick+Tim 'Relationship Transformed by Kindness and Death' dynamic, but flips it. Instead of Dick being trapped in the place of his tragedy, surrounded by reminders, and Tim growing up silently watching him; we have Dick being whisked away from his tragedy, growing up surrounded by reminders of what's been saved.

It allows us to play with Jason's 'I Can't let Go of My Death and So I've Lost Myself and Everything I Loved' issues. Tim can't let go of his death, and it's his only link to himself and everything he's lost. He remembers saying 'The Flying Grayson's will fly again!' Keeping Dick alive is more important than avoiding being thrown back in the Labyrinth. Protecting Dick from the Court is his path back to his family.

It keeps the obsession and connection between Tim and Dick, instead of trying to convince the reader that Tim idealized Damian. I've struggled to translate Tim's motivation for becoming Robin in a reversed setting, and I can't make it work. This gives that motivation to Dick, instead, and allows us to explore how DICK would have been transformed by that one meeting. He didn't need love and affection in the same way Tim did. But I can see him holding on to the hope and heroism he saw, and instead of getting consumed by his rage when his parent's die, he's motivated to live up to Robin's legacy.

It gives a reason for my favourite reversed dynamic: instead of Bruce being broken by Jason's death, Bruce is convinced to step up by Tim's. In this universe, Bruce didn't choose either of his first 2 kids, and found it easier and safer to deny Tim even WAS his kid. (During Tim's tenure, Batman and Robin start patrol from the central Wayne Ent. Batcave, leaving the Manor to Damian, because it's easier than keeping Damian's vicious resentment and jealousy in line. Tim learns to mostly avoid the Waynes as civilians. Bruce deals with anything he sees, but doesn't confront the roots of the issues, and Tim loves being Robin but never feels particularly safe in the role.) Bruce 'got a kid killed' by holding him at arms length, and so, when Jason comes into his life and Bruce's attempts to find him a better place are stopped by corruption at every turn, Bruce chooses to truly become a parent.

One of the few things Tim remembers is his certainty that Robins aren't safe around Damian. This lets me keep Dick's canon struggles with Tim and Damian's conflicting needs. Both want to protect him, but Tim wants to protect him FROM Damian, and clingy baby Dick idolizes Tim, but NEEDS to hang off various parts of Damian for as much of the day as possible. Damian is drowning in guilt and wants to make Tim as comfortable as possible, but has committed to raising Dick. He can't let Tim stay between the 2 of them at all times.

It doesn't give as many hooks for Tim and Jason's relationship as I like. And I remain conflicted about whether Cass and Steph should come before Tim (to properly reverse canon) or after Tim (to make them contemporary with Jason, because he deserves to have contemporaries in AUs. Canon denied him). Duke is swapped with Babs, and I have fun thoughts about him, but that's a different post.

I don't think I can write this, but I want to see it!

17. Hi there. So I'm currently in the mood of reading wangxian AU or canon divergence fics. If possible the fics shouldn't be a short story, and I really, really just want WangXian, other characters may appear or mentioned, but I'm not in the mood of reading other chara's self importance appearance, so yeah just wangxian.

E.g a canon divergence when LWJ took WWX to an exile after the bloodbath in Nightless City, or a scenario where they were in the run, or the post 13 years WangXian just run away and don't give a shit about the revenge drama NHS and JGY are having about, anyway, it must be 90% of the fic, should be about wangxian.

your view on riddledore, especially when compared to grindledore and Tom/Grindelwald?

I like all three of them, in whatever combination!

Riddledore has been so, so much fun to explore lately. For me, Voldemort and Dumbledore are the only 'equals' in the HP books. I see the entire war as being between them, while the Order, Death Eaters, Ministry etc serving as foot soldiers. Without Voldemort or Dumbledore, we wouldn't have canon events. They are the catalysts of the entire thing. I am also of the opinion that Dumbledore won the war, because he was the one to have plotted the entire Deathly Hallows going to Harry thing. Of course, there was some typical Harry luck sprinkled in there, but yes, I credit Dumbledore with that victory. I remember the duel between these two titans, and it was one of the greatest scene in the books (even in the movies, especially compared to the lame Battle of Hogwarts duels). There's not a single duel in all seven books to come even close to what these two did in the Ministry. I am also of the belief that Voldemort could have been the only one to defeat Dumbledore in a duel. They are equal in magical skill and in intellect, two geniuses, removed from those surrounding them, albeit in different ways. Dumbledore is benevolent, while Voldemort is not. Dumbledore is logical and a bit cold, while Voldemort is impulsive, with a quick temper, at least in the second war. I also think Dumbledore is the only person Voldemort ever respected and thought of as an actual threat, hence 'the only one he ever feared'. So having these two in a pair is delightful, especially if we play with the timeline a bit.

Grindeldore can be so sweet, mostly because of their age when they met. It's also incredibly tragic. I imagine it is extremely hard, if not impossible, for Dumbledore to find someone as a partner, seeing who he is. So he found this man, against all odds, and they had this whirlwind romance that ended horrifically. I don't think Grindelwald is his equal in the way Voldemort is; I think Grindelwald comes very close, but, in the end, Dumbledore proves much more skilled. I love them as lovers, I love them pining over the other, separated by a war, and eventually being forced to meet in combat. Devastating. I think Grindelwald, while also incredibly powerful and more intelligent than most people, is more 'human' than Dumbledore and Voldemort, if that makes sense. I think he's better with expressing feelings, experiencing them as a normal man, unlike emotionally constipated Dumbledore and Voldemort.

Which brings us to Voldemort/Grindelwald! SO much fun. I think it depends on the age we force them to meet. If Tom is significantly younger, then the power dynamic shifts firmly to Grindelwald's side. If, like in one of my fics, we play with circumstance and have them meet as their canon ages, than I think Voldemort gains the upper hand in that relationship, mostly because Grindelwald has the emotional intelligence and capability to compromise and sort of let some things slide, navigating Voldemort's pride and hubris. I love them! I think Grindelwald is the only one to be a lover to either Dumbledore or Voldemort without getting completely mowed over by these two.

I am fascinated that, while modifying canon a bit but without taking away from their canon personalities, all three possibilities of relationships between them can actually end up as close to healthy as it is possible. They all have the means to temper the other, to put their foot down, hold their ground.

So yes, I am a very big fan of extremely powerful, cunning and intelligent men getting together. As everyone knows, I love Voldemort, but I always wish to see him paired with someone that can hold their own against him, in a believable way.

In the eyes of Tomarry fans, what potential does the relationship between Tom Riddle and Harry Potter have, and how can it impact the story? Which shared qualities or conflicts can enrich this relationship, and what kind of emotional developments can form the foundation of this imaginary connection? Additionally, in this alternative scenario, how might Tomarry's friendship dynamics and interactions with other characters at Hogwarts change?

I think for a lot of fans it can boil down to the parallels between Tom Riddle and Harry Potter. It's pointed out a lot in canon, even by Tom himself, that he and Harry are pretty similar. Those similarities open a pathway to understanding - which is important. The fact that these two enemies intrinsically know each other.

There's an element of 'soulmates' to them, an inevitability, that in no world would those two not be drawn to each other. There's endless potential between them, which is evident in how many AUs for them can use precisely the same tropes and yet each one is unique and intriguing - as if it's the first time you're reading it.

As for 'how can it impact the story' - their canon relationship is literally the driving force behind the entire plot of the series. The sheer multitudes to their interactions, to their dynamic, to their personalities, means that the impact they'd have is impossible to calculate. They are the two most important figures, opposites, so any decision they make in regards to each other can change the entire plot of the story.

Going into their shared qualities would take hours - all I can say is that they are both narrative foils and parallels. Tom is the what-could-be to Harry. A possible future of who - what - he could become. Their natural conflict arises from the sides they're on, and it provides the tension that a lot of people find compelling to explore. Enemies-to-lovers is a very popular trope for a reason.

It makes for exciting reading.

I wouldn't say their connection is imaginary either. I've already mentioned their innate understanding - their childhoods scarily resemble each other, which is an instant emotional connection. Empathy and sympathy are powerful things. Every time Tom and Harry interact, it's a growth moment. They challenge each other, push each other, are obsessed with each other, could make each other better or worse depending on their situations.

From a purely friendship view - if Tom and Harry had grown up together, I sincerely believe they would have been unstoppable.

Tom would have learnt temperance and restraint from Harry, would have understood the importance of compassion (even if it's purely to manipulate people into doing what you want). Tom would have changed the the world without ruining it if he'd had Harry at his side.

Likewise, Harry would have learnt to be more confident, more in control and more commanding with Tom acting as an example. He would have questioned himself less, and been far harder to manipulate.

If they had gone to Hogwarts together, been friends, Tom would have had an emotional support pillar that would act as the wind under his sails. His need to conquer Slytherin for his own safety and desires would have been less, though his need to prove himself would likely still be there. Harry would also not feel like he had to carry everything on his own shoulders. He'd rely on Tom, he'd trust him, he'd go to him with his issues, and that would make him far more relaxed and less likely to blow up at the drop of a hat.

They'd be a bit insular, a very us-against-the-world mentality, but they'd also be compelling and interesting enough to gain a following.

I live for the soapghost dynamic! It's always fun to try an keep their interactions to canon standards while exploring an AU setting, especially one as popular and diverse as abo. Plus, I'm a sucker for non-traditional pairings (such as beta/omega) since they tend to make things more interesting.

Now, to feed your want of more abo content, the drabble below isn't polished so forgive any mistakes you see. This drabble is pretty dark, so heed the warnings!

Main Masterlist

Even though use of suppressants in the military is common, repressing biology for too long is unhealthy and dangerous. So any alphas or omegas are given mandatory leave every four months for their heats/ruts in order to stabilize their hormones and let their body do it's thing.

Unsurprisingly, Ghost the sole exception to this rule.

Due to Ghost's subpar childhood and the trauma that came with it, he didn't have his first heat until he was well into adulthood. Honestly, Ghost just thought that he was sick and running a fever. He didn't think much of the attention that his fellow soldiers were giving him over the course of his four-day heat.

After his first heat -which he didn't even know was heat, rip- Roba happened. Ghost was kept on an illegal cocktail of drugs that induced heat and boosted libido, keeping him starved for touch and docile. Ghost was frequently assaulted and abused in this vulnerable state, horrified with himself for his behavior when his 'heat' ended.

Flash forward to after Ghost takes revenge on Roba once his family is killed, taking suppressants once every month to keep his heat at bay. But the more he uses the suppressants, the more his body fights against it, forcing him to take a suppressant more and more frequently until he's injecting himself once a day.

Price knew of the excessive use of suppressants, of course, but he had also read Ghost's file and decidedly turned a blind eye to it. Until he couldn't, that is.

There's an incident with Ghost passing out on the tarmac after a mission, forcing Price's hand. So Price gives Ghost an ultimatum, either he lets himself go into heat on base so his body can flush the drugs out -basically like hitting a reset button- or Ghost can be put on indefinite leave until he figures his shit out.

Of course Ghost choses the former, getting confined to his quarters for the duration of his heat. Price is the only one with written permission to enter Ghost's room during this time, but a medical team is informed of the situation and is on call in case anything happens.

And of course it all goes to shit.

Ghost has a ptsd episode on the second day, the commotion coming from his quarters being brought to Price's attention and he leaves his office to check on Ghost. So imagine his surprise when he unlocks the door and pushes in to find Ghost's room torn apart.

Price hears a noise from the adjacent bathroom and cautiously pokes his head in, his eyes widening when he sees Ghost huddled in his bathtub with a knife clenched in his hand, the sharp edge held to his throat as he mutters to himself with a thousand yard stare aimed at the wall.

Price steps into the bathroom before he can think better of it and Ghost tenses, but he still doesn't look at Price, who realizes much too late that an alpha barging in on Ghost when he's deep in a flashback probably wasn't the best idea. And, as Ghost jerks his wrist to slice his own throat open, Price lunges to disarm him.

The cut spans halfway across Ghost's throat and it's deep, blood gushing all over both of them as they grapple for the knife, slippery with Ghost's blood. Price manages to knock the knife out of Ghost's hand, the man snarling as he thrashes like a wild animal with Price on top of him trying to hold him down.

Thankfully, some passerby heard Price shouting for a medic from outside the room, so help arrives in the form of the medical team and Ghost is sedated. The wound on his throat is stitched up before Ghost is moved to medbay and restrained with padded cuffs and straps that hold his body down.

Price spends the next two days watching Ghost writhe in the bed like a man possessed as he snarled at anyone who entered the room, only seeming to settle when Gaz delivered his meals. As long as Gaz didn't try to touch him in a sexual manner, Ghost didn't display any hostility toward the beta, simply laying in bed and breathing hard as his panicked eyes watched Gaz deposit the tray onto the table.

Gaz uses the nearby remote to raise the top half of Ghost's bed so he can sit up, Gaz dutifully feeding Ghost with one hand while the other cautiously settled on Ghost's bare arm to ease the fever. Gaz makes an effort not to stare at Ghost's face, seeing as the balaclava had been removed after Ghost was sedated.

By the time Ghost's heat ends, Price has already talked to Laswell, who pulled some strings to get Ghost a steady supply of high-end, expensive suppressants to take regularly. The potentially deadly side-effects will take longer to become a problem with the more sophisticated suppressant, but eventually Ghost will have to 'reset' his body in order to start the cycle all over again.

Then comes Johnny.

One of the reasons why I'm so deep into multishipping hell with my wol is that I love genuinely love exploring dynamics with different npcs. FFXIV throws so many awesome npcs at me, how can I just stick with one or two?

Ok, there's also the fact that she fell in love twice and the first time her lover died and the second time, the guy was already dead BUT...

As far as canon goes Layla had a whirlwind romance with Haurchefant. They fell in love fast and the romance ended just as fast at the Vault. It was a very cliched romance, Haurchefant swept Layla off her feet. Often literally. He was very affectionate with her and often times Layla was a bit shy, especially when they are in public. But she loved him just as much.

Her love for Ardbert was doomed due to the fact that he was already dead and not from the Source. Ardbert fell in love with Layla during Shadowbringers too but denied his feelings for her until the very end.

Layla felt like Ardbert was truly her soulmate and often wonders if she would feel similar about the other Azem shards. By then, Layla overcame her timidly and often persued Ardbert romantically and Ardbert was often unsure how to react to her advances - all the while he slowly fell for her. Also I constantly think of newlywed AUs for them lmfao

Layla and Leofard are friends with benefits but on a non-sexual level, they enjoy each other's company a lot. Leofard understands that Layla comes from a very different background and starts to banter with her accordingly. I call their dynamics charming rogue x graceful, courtly fighter.

Layla may act as if Leofard's teasing bothered her a little but deep down she appreciates him as a dear, dear companion. Someone who understands that the world is vast and that there is still so much for them to discover...

When it comes to non-canon ships, I'm afraid this is where my brainrot truly shines. I ship my wol with so many npcs, I sometimes even forget which minor msq/general npc I ship my wol with. It do be like that. Though these days I often think of job/role quest npcs.

As someone who ADORES job quest npcs, I was extremely sad that the stopped doing them in Shadowbringers.

Some of my favorites include:

Gransonwol. They're both tanks and they both lost a loved one. In my mind, Layla and Granson lick each other's wounds and get closer in the progress. Their personalities don't clash at all and they go well together.

But Granson is from the First and Layla is from the Source. Not only are they griefing but it is hard to deal with physical distance. This often leads to conflicts between them. Will they be able to overcome this? Who knows...

Oborowol. The first thing I think when I think of Layla and Oboro was how when she became a ninja, Oboro asked her to teach him about the culture of Eorzea. But Layla is not a native of Eorzea either! I think this may have lead to funny moments to them, Layla loves helping people, so she often answered all the question.

The second thing is:

Oboro's Zadnor field note gave me a lot inspiration. Layla may be experienced in all things romance but she can get pretty bashful and lets her partner lead. Oboro however is not really experienced, so she waits a long time for him to make a move on her. So, here's a rare case of Layla often taking charge in the relationship. Oboro is often thankful but eventually overcomes his own shyness, methinks.

Widargeltwol. Probably the ship that is connected to Layla's lore the most, even more than her canonical ships. Layla is half Ala Mhigan and her Ala Mhigan mother is one of the last surviving monks. This had a huge impact on Layla growing up. Growing up her mother strictly trained her to become a monk but Layla could not open a chakra despite her apititude for fighting and her strong body.

It wasn't until she met Widargelt during the first monk job quest that she opened her first chakra. Widargelt realized her potential and made plans to use her for his revenge against the Garleans (as shown during the ARR MNK job quests). I love this because during A Realm Reborn, Layla felt connected to the Ala Mhigans and started to see herself as an Ala Mhigan more and more.

So, queue in the angst when during the level 50 quest, Widargelt tried to kill her. Layla quickly became fond of Widargelt, so her heart broke after this but during the Heavensward quests they've mended their relationship fast. Even in the canonical timeline in which they don't end up together, Layla sees Widargelt as one of the most precious person she has met during her journey.

It is worth noting that Layla has kept her mother's identity hidden but after the events of the last ARR MNK quests, Layla confessed to Widargelt and Erik that her mother was a monk as well. They were the first people, Layla has told about her mother.

I think out of all my ships, this one is the one I'd label a slowburn. They saw each other as siblings in monkhood first but I also think that their romance is also a very smooth one once they realize their feelings. No need for big words, both know very well that the other has nothing but love in their heart. But first steps are hard...

Pat and Nell are my OCs for my current hyperfixation of Just Dance. I recently posted personality/character profiles here for Pat, and here for Nell

Pat actually isn't short for Patrick, he's just Pat. I'm currently not decided if he was born Pat, or if he chose to change his name but in either case he is Pat and I'm using him to offer a different perspective on this dark AU I've developed with the main characters of Just Dance known as the Night Children AU in which the main protagonists of the game have been corrupted and are under control of the villain Night Swan.

Pat came first, semi-operating as the protagonist to the antagonists that the main cast have become in this AU, though he's kind of morphed into a way for me to explore the impacts of what is essentially a Universe-wide war on the average person. Not one of the many side characters who are implied to have the means to fight back, but an average person who has been displaced from his home following an attack that killed/captured a lot of his neighbours and which he barely escaped himself.

I have a tendency to write quite negatively/overwhemingly depressed characters in general so I challenged myself to write Pat as a person who is determined to hold onto his hope, his positivity, and his values. Someone who can't quite comprehend the true scope of this massive war and instead focuses on what he can comprehend which is the impact on individuals.

Given Pat is based on a background character in a dancemap (Just Dance 2023) he doesn't have a glove which is almost exclusively reserved for the lead dancer/coach of each map (a purposeful design choice meant to mimic gameplayers and their controller). Recently I've used this to expand on the worldbuilding within the AU as well as create a greater disparity between Pat and the majority of the rest of the characters.

Essentially those with a Glove (the majority of other characters within this AU) have made a personal connection with the Flow (the canonical Spiritual force of the Danceverses). Pat doesn't have this, putting him at a severe disadvantage but doesn't leave him not wanting to help.

Nell (short for Penelope) is his younger sister, though they are both adults. She was inspired by a coach in a music video who just gave me major little sister vibes.

Mostly I wanted Pat to have some family to better root him and make him seem less of an unconnected potential accidental messiah character. A younger sister gives a chance for sibling dynamic, both for the better and the worse, but with the added bonus that Nell has a Glove, and therefore the "Spiritual connection" that Pat doesn't.

Nell is meant to be somewhat of a mirror reflection of Pat. She has a Glove while he doesn't. She lives in a more affluent area while he lives in the rougher area. She is more outgoing and involved with closeknit group of friends, while Pat knows everyone but has very few if any close friends. They're both impulsive, though Nell tends to think through consequences more, having grown up watching her older brother do nearly everything that passes through his mind. And while they do bicker, they are very protective of each other.

Pat is determined to keep the war away from Nell as much as he can.

Hey so I was the one who gave this ask but erm I actually meant Non-binary Yata & Asexual Yata, like yata not having a gender and not liking sex when I said 'Sarumi AU' I didn't mean Non-binary Fushimi, I just said Sarumi au because I know you also get Misaru asks and I'm not a huge fan of that dynamic so I put Sarumi AU, but never meant it as Non-binary Fushimi & Asexual Yata. (I'm hoping this didn't sound rude or anything)

Aaaaahhh sorry anon, that one was my fault ;; I have no idea how but my brain thought that ask read ‘non-binary Fushimi and asexual Yata’ and I don’t know why, I had to go double check after I got this one and was like ‘how did I even miss that?’. So! Since this one was my fault I’m gonna answer this one out of order so you still get your place in the queue properly. Non-binary Yata is interesting, I feel like Yata is a fun character to explore with different identities because canon indicates he’s not really good with computers or online a lot and I think especially as a kid he would have less exposure to different identities so I see him struggling a lot with a thing he knows but can’t vocalize (also again, just using ‘he’ for convenience sake. I could see Yata going for more of a ‘he/them’ pronouns, though on that end it’s much easier to use non-gendered language in Japanese so he might not even really need to ‘pick’ a pronoun, everyone just uses neutral language for him).  In this case I could see that actually being part of why he has all these masculinity issues, because he’s increasingly aware that he doesn’t really feel like a guy and he’s desperately trying to hide it, overcompensating by trying his hardest to be aggressively manly so no one thinks he’s weird. I could see his only exposure to trans people being like unfortunate comedic stereotypes on TV so any idea that he could be a girl also doesn’t work for him (and then at the same time even without those stereotypes he doesn’t feel like a girl either, he just thinks that if he’s not a guy then girl is the only option and he rebels aggressively against the idea).

It’s in meeting Fushimi that Yata really starts to realize who he is, imagine Fushimi not only being supportive of Yata but also the one who kinda realizes what’s going on. Fushimi can be perceptive when he wants to be (and especially in situations where he himself isn’t directly involved) so I could see some time shortly after they’ve become friends when Yata’s putting on a show of masculinity and Fushimi clicks his tongue and calls Yata annoying. Yata’s a little hurt by that and Fushimi says it’s annoying, when Yata keeps putting on this fake show that Yata himself doesn’t even believe, how bothersome. Yata realizes that Fushimi’s seen through the whole thing and imagine him kindly nervously admitting it, that he doesn’t feel like a man. He quickly adds that he’s not a girl though and Fushimi scoffs: ‘why do you have to choose one or the other? Idiot.’ Up until this moment Yata’s never even thought about that, that he doesn’t have to make a binary choice, and this is really one of the big moments where I could see him just falling for Fushimi all over again because Saruhiko is that amazing, finding the answer to the question Yata’s been struggling with for most of his life.

So then post-ROK Yata has a whole new crisis with realizing that it’s not just that he’s a virgin, or nervous about sex, it’s that he’s simply…not interested in it. I could see this bringing back his old worries from before he realized that he was non-binary, like maybe this is another thing that’s weird or wrong about him and he doesn’t like this because he thought he was finally comfortable with himself. Imagine he tries to force himself to ignore these feelings though, because he does love Saruhiko and he doesn’t want Fushimi to think Yata isn’t attracted to him or anything. But then when things start getting hot and heavy Fushimi suddenly pulls away from Yata with a tongue click. Yata asks what’s wrong and Fushimi coldly says if Yata was going to fake it he should just say so. Yata tries to argue but Fushimi’s already getting dressed and leaving.

Afterward Yata’s really upset, feeling like this is his fault for being weird (and also aware that Fushimi absolutely thinks that Yata’s issues were because there’s something about him, not that Yata doesn’t care for sex in general). This would probably turn into one of those ‘Kusanagi/Homra alphabet teach Yata what asexuality is’ moments, and Yata is again amazed because there are all these things about himself that other people have felt too and it’s kinda cool, realizing that there’s a word for what you feel. I also think it would help him a lot to learn that asexual people can still have and even enjoy sex, it’s just that it’s not something he actively desires. I like the idea that someone tips Fushimi off about this conversation too so when Yata gets back to his apartment later Fushimi is there being all awkward and trying to avoid apologizing but looking like he wants to. Yata feels this rush of relief that Saruhiko still came back after all and they get to sit and have this talk, imagine Fushimi being like didn’t I already have this with you when we were in middle school. Yata’s like yeah but that one was different, smiling as he says even if he isn’t interested in sex himself that doesn’t mean he hates it or anything, maybe just take it slow, and that Fushimi’s gonna need to learn to be honest if that’s what he wants from Yata because Yata doesn’t want Fushimi to think that Yata doesn’t care just because Yata’s way of expressing love is different.

Isn’t it implied that Giyuu didn’t really visit urokodaki after his final selection? I see the potential for some sweet reconnect type thing, where they both have to relearn how to exist w each other and show each other affection since it’s been a while.

I also love ‘Breathe for Me.’ by AniramLynx, it has a love harem square thing with sanemi, shinobu, and kyo, and Giyuu has a secret daughter and it’s endgame rengiyuu and I just love how they tackle omega verse dynamics, And the writing is awesome. well i fucking ADORE tsutako so much actually. urokodaki and tsutako treated giyuu differently because their places in his life were fundamentally different: tsutako was his mother, his sister, the woman who raised him and loved him. she helped lay the groundwork for who is he is as a whole- she was and still is monumental in his mind. his love for her is completely and utterly huge. she treated him fairly and kindly- she treated him like her son, and wasn’t often harsh with him. 

urokodaki was also gentle, but he wasn’t giyuus parent. he was giyuus teacher; first and foremost he was someone who helped guide giyuu into a very dangerous profession. he trained him to be the best of the best because giyuu (while not as hard hitting or bold as sabito) had speed, precision and a steadfast will to protect. urokodaki wouldn’t have forced him into it: giyuu took to training with his entire being. 

urokodaki wasn’t always kind. there are harsh, violent lessons you must go through to become a demon slayer that won’t perish at the first clawing- the first gnash of a demons teeth is always the worst. luckily, he saw even sharper teeth hidden behind giyuus tiny smiles and soft voice. 

tsutako didn’t baby him, per se, but she was soft with him. she helped him wash his hair, let him curl up in her futon with her and helped him hide the first nest he ever made. her nests were small, could fit in cabinets or forgotten cupboards- giyuu takes after her in that aspect. 

urokodaki didn’t baby him. he occasionally brought him to teahouses or festivals, but he also brought sabito. he rewarded giyuu for his hard work more than he babied him.

it had taken giyuu away from him in a different sense. he still lives, breathes, eats and sleeps- he just doesn’t come home. from the brief and quietly agonized letters he sends every once and a while urokodaki can tell the night took him- just… in a different way. he doesn’t return even when he promised, at the ripe age of fourteen and a half, to do so. 

giyuu is afraid of seeing urokodaki. not the fear of demons, or of death or of loosing someone he loves, but the strange type of dread that comes when you find something you didn’t mean to forget. hadn’t meant to leave behind, didn’t want to part with but couldn’t bear to hold. he’s ashamed of breaking his promises. 

eventually, giyuu gets a letter from tanjiro. nezuko enjoys being with urokodaki and tanjiro misses him. he assumes giyuu does as well and implores him to visit. 

urokodaki isn’t aware that his other students (nezuko included of course) have bonded so closely with giyuu. his one student who was taken by the night and spat back out. tanjiro had returned to him bathed in the light of dawn; giyuu finally arrives home on a clouded noon, years after he left. 

they’re both new people, but in that singular moment urokodaki is staring down at the half-frozen child he met so long ago. giyuu looks back at him, guilt, shame and relief building tightly in him. 

when urokodaki hugs him, cradling the back of giyuus head in his hand and mask tipped to the side to hug him better, he realizes giyuu is taller than him. the sun does not break from behind the clouds; but urokodaki thinks one dreary day is a small price in the face of his beloved student coming home.

the kids love giyuu a lot but they’re still getting used to him, and vice versa. tanjiro is used to protecting and providing so having someone do it for him feels… a little bit condescending at first, but when they talk about it he begins to settle into the idea more. it’s meant out of a genuine want for his safety and happiness as opposed to giyuu not thinking he’s capable. 

eventually they all settle in enough to show off, mui and inosuke (and nezuko oddly enough) just get a head start. 

dams are another term for mother, usually used in relation to omegas (both male and female) and has slightly different emotional connotations than just “mom”. 

 I need to know how the pups collect him😭 also what do all the hashira and oyakata sama think about him joining them?

it’s all tanjiros fault, really. when mui and giyuu were recovering from their mission, giyuu was in a very hormonally vulnerable state because he had just fully imprinted on a pup who was injured while in his care. he started nesting even while his hip/leg was fucked up, and was spending a lot of his time in his nest with mui. 

tanjiro visited him a lot, sometimes even being pulled into the nest beside mui because he fucking loves tanjiro (this is after the sword smith arc). 

nezuko was always with tanjiro, and where they went zenitsu and inosuke were never far behind. they were consistently shooed away because “if you don’t get out of his nest right now you’ll mess him up more and delay recovery for them both! not to mention you’re all still pups and Tomioka was just newly imprinted on!” (by aoi, who didn’t notice -or maybe just didn’t acknowledge- that she was also slowly imprinting on giyuu)

kanao also frequently did shooing duty, but liked to spend time with the others while they were all there. 

tanjiro saw that giyuu and mui were healing and in better spirits, as giyuu was becoming more open and warm with them (beginning to treat them as his pups) and mui was lightening up around people that weren’t tanjiro or giyuu!

he dragged genya around too, because they’re friends damnnit and genya is going to spend some boss ass quality time with them if he like it or not. 

this all backfires spectacularly when shinobu catches all of these children taking a dogpile nap on giyuu. they’re careful of his and muichirous injuries, but still. she’s right cheesed when she figures out giyuu has claimed them as his: they’re his kids now and nothing will make him let them go. 

oyakata was both so very very pleased to become a grandfather (something he didn’t think would happen before he died) and also quietly amused. his biological children are also pleased to become aunts and an uncle, even if their nieces/nephews are older than them. 

shinobu has some confusing feelings abt it all. on one hand, giyuu is healing from being nulled and is creating important bonds with people, but in the other he keeps stealing her fucking kids/sister. the triplets, aoi and kanao are her girls. but giyuu just swept on in and started mothering them. so to be petty (and to maybe give herself a little bit of normalcy) she starts acting all Pack Alpha around the girls. and mui. and the other kids. (she’s digging herself a fucking grave. giyuu has begun to act like she’s part of the pack. she’s so stupid for thinking this wouldn’t happen)

mitsuri, gyomei, and uzui all think it’s nice. uzui thinks it’s more funny and flashy than pleasant, but he still gossips about it with his wives. 

obanai fucking hates it. end of story. 

muichirou and kyojuro both adore it. muichirou doesn’t remember everything about his life before, but he remembers warmth. he remembers hands that held his face and swept away his tears; the scent of home buzzes constantly in his nose- the memories from his family before and the fresh notes of his family now. he promises that he will never forget any of them ever again. 

kyojuro can’t get enough of it. giyuu smiles at him, spars with him, flutters at the edges of his vision even when he’s gone. the thought of giyuu is always with him; the shape of his body and the tilt of his lips when he hums to a curled up nezuko sleeping peacefully in his lap. bathed in light or rain or fucking ash giyuu would be more breathtaking then any god in kyojuros eyes.

mostly the shenanigans are giyuu coming to the flame estate and everyone either a) going super overkill in training to show off their progress, b) shinjuro and giyuu awkwardly existing in each other’s presence (bc shinjuro Knows. he is completely aware of his eldest sons infatuation) c) kyojuro attempting to “subtly” keep giyuu and senjuro from spending too much time together while still pushing them together enough for them to get along or d) some horrible mix of them all, plus other random little issues.

it’s a whole mess, basically, but they all become more in tuned with each other. shinjuro is the exception of course; he’s fairly distant with his sons students. and the pretty water hashira.

the hashira of the estates generally like giyuu a lot. kyojuro is… horribly in love with him, and would give anything for the chance to properly show it.

gyomei thinks giyuu is sweet- and he never actually intended to steal his student. his visits are usually timed well enough to never interrupt anything and he brings gyomei high quality cat treats as gratitude gifts, so gyomei has no complaints. (it helps that genya seems to relax quite a bit when with two extremely powerful omegas who care about him very much- he’s not scared of being an omega, but the thought of navigating it alone was never pleasant)

muichirou obviously loves being in his home with giyuu, even though he’s taken to spending a good amount of his down time in the water estate. most of his house hands are working there now- it gets a lot more traffic and now requires a lot more upkeep. he’s a tiny little pre-presentation alpha pup with a mother that he loves to impress. his collection of terrariums is no joke, and he finds they both enjoy spending quiet time surrounded by the pretty glass jars.

shinobu definitely likes giyuu; she wishes his newfound tendencies towards gaining children stopped or at LEAST slowed down though. she and giyuu get a bunch of focus for their relationship as well- i’m unsure about whether or not to keep it platonic but still with lots of intimacy and trust (like queer platonic partners- commitment and love but not strictly romantic) or if i should go the romantic route. i’m 50-50 split currently. all i know is that she’s an important part of the ever growing pack.

giyuu falls in love with a lot of difficultly, grief, and guilt. he and sabito were courting from the ages of 12-15, and had promises. they were supposed to become the water pillars together- a bonded team so strong they would embody the ocean and all her tides. when sabito died giyuu felt less like the ocean and more like an ice floe; cold dark and dangerous, isolating in strange and terrifying ways.

in some ways he never let go. even after he begins to heal, let himself thaw and crumble under the warmth of his pups love, his pack, there was always the shape of sabito carved into him. a brand of love, friendship and deep respect- but a brand nonetheless.

generally, giyuu thinks it’s a disrespect to sabitos memory to fall in love with someone else. to hold them like that in the same space in giyuus heart that he had taken. but slowly, as giyuu visits the flame pillar estate more often and watches him live (the night his crow had told him of the train is held deep inside of himself. he does not think about why the memory rests next to the news of his parents death- of his sister smoothing his hair as she sobbed and sobbed and didn’t let him see them even after the villagers helped remove them from the house.) he realizes that sabitos place can remain his.

he can keep his first love (his first everything) in the same place. he doesn’t have to throw him away to love someone again. tanjiro and nezuko don’t throw away their family for a new one- muichirou doesn’t throw away his sparse memories of a face mirroring his own for the other pups. zenitsu doesn’t throw away his grandfather or even the brother that hated him; they all just make new space. giyuu simply (read: with great difficulty and lots of hesitation) wants to do the same.

giyuu doesn’t love like the ocean- nor does he feel like it when he’s with kyojuro. kyojuro is hot embers and thick sloughing metal- giyuu feels like the moment he makes contact he’ll burst into steam. kyojuro makes giyuu feel like endless rain sinking deep into the earth. he isn’t a glacier, or a steep and deadly ice floe, but he is a man. a man and an omega and a mother and a son and his sisters little brother. he wants kyojuro.

kyojuro is both stunningly impatient and mature, which tempers his impatience enough to seem nonexistent. he’s eager and jovial and quick to move, but not stupid. he thinks things through, he just has very little shame or boundaries with himself. other people on the other hand…

they aren’t easy for him. he gets along with most people but it’s usually by accident or by saving them from a demon that would’ve killed them. giyuu is easy to speak with- gentle and quiet but easy to goad into reacting if you phrase things right. he’s competitive, resilient and so so fucking gorgeous.

kyojuro doesn’t tell giyuu right away. he can tell there is still a thick wall between giyuus heart and everyone else. the pups hop the wall often, but occasionally stumble or are knocked back. kyo very rarely even gets to climb high enough to glimpse the other side.

he speaks with his father first. it’s painful, in the way speaking privately with his father has been for years, but there is no alcohol in the room and it smells of his mothers favourite incense.

shinjuro listens for once. takes the time to watch his son, his eldest boy- a hearty alpha and reliable young man. his darling pup, who he has hurt deeply in the past and continues to do so even now when he doesn’t do much of anything. lets his sons worry and adoration for the beautiful and destroyed omega that has captured his heart wash over him. when he had met the new water hashira, he was taken aback by how fair he looked while being so cold. so dull. he had seen the grief for what it was- his wife’s death left a similar mark on him.

when kyojuro finishes speaking he waits for a moment, then two, then his patience wears thin and he moves to leave.

“that boy has loved someone before. deeply. like how you love him, like how i lo- how i loved your mother. i was ruined by her death. i’m still ruined.” he begins, not baring to look at his boy anymore. kyojuro settles back down.

“whoever they were they were ripped from him. it was probably the catalyst to him being nulled. it’s a miracle he’s not a completely blank slate, now.”

they’re both silent. kyojuro is deep in thought, replaying interactions with giyuu for signs he might’ve overlooked. he’s not jealous, or angry, but sad. he adores giyuu with everything he has, but if giyuu loves someone else he would’ve wanted them to be here with giyuu loving him as they must have.

“he doesn’t look at you with blank eyes. he did to me, and most of the other people he ever saw- like he was looking right through them. to love a man like that is almost a death sentence.” kyojuro has no words for that that are kind. instead he offers this;

“giyuu has always looked at me without malice, at least. there has never been disappointment in him- not for me.”

shinjuro doesn’t shiver with rage or shame as he usually would.

“break it to him slowly. talk to his pups and his pack, then make yourself clear. don’t expect an answer. don’t expect it to be a pretty or soft confession; he might be pretty and soft but he is far from both at once. dont… don’t wait, kyojuro. whatever you do, reach for him.” during his speech, made with tilted and rusty words of encouragement, kyojuro has folded in on himself. he knows this is the closest thing he’ll get to fatherly approval. for now, it’s enough.

For the Giyuu x uzui fam au

I think Giyuu sharing little parts of himself and his past like the tea shop or river is so sweet. Lol at Giyuu sitting in the shadows, does he sunburn easily Somehow this suits him. I know im getting redundant, but I wish the manga added more bits of his backstory and childhood before he lost tsutako (I actually just want more Giyuu)

how does the uzui fam try to include Giyuu into their relationship? How outwardly obvious is their affection for each other?? I can imagine that the uzuis is that pda quadruple, but i think they might tone it down with Giyuu for his sake lol.  

they take him on a lot of dates, and spend a lot of time with him. he spends a lot of his time while not on missions in the sound estate- his house feels so cold and so quiet now. he still can’t bring himself to furnish it because at his core giyuu believes it’s not his place.

so instead he keeps things with the uzui family. he has a room with a handmade wood box inlaid with silk, which keeps tsutakos bow, half the rope from sabitos mask, and various trinkets that people he’s saved have given him. they (along with his haori) are his most painful and important possessions.

the fact that he can put them here, in this house with these people who he adores and aches for in equal measure, says a lot.

the uzuis are fond of pda, but they’re not actually too intense with it. there’s definitely a level of casual intimacy that always surrounds them, but it’s not forced or anything. they fold giyuu into the mix fairly naturally and after a few months it’s not a strange sight to see uzui just toss one of his wives and giyuu over his shoulder and bounce around. he seems so happy and it makes them laugh. they don’t have to tone things down because giyuu would tell them if he was uncomfortable (even if it was just with his expression/body language)

He's a really well-excuted character for the role he serves in the story, and while I more appreciate his role than the character himself, his vibes are on point.

God Dark Era's so fucking good as a whole but. Honestly. The moment after the kids explode- the line about how he only realized he was the one screaming when his throat started hurting absolutely makes me feral oh my god.

Idea for a story

A continuation(?) of this fic I wrote where I sort of elaborate on the relationship he and Ango develop, and what his life in the Port Mafia is like now that... well.

Dazai and Oda are just platonic friends. It's not a one-sided crush, it's not a papa-son adoption, it's not a brotherly thing, it's a friendship. Maybe it's the aro-aceness but I really do think their relationship is at it's most powerful when it's percieved that way.

Gonna be honest a guy trying to off himself should not be this funny but like. It is extremely funny.

A morally gray character I can actually comfortably call morally grey is so, so nice, and I do like that despite his awful past he's trying very hard to do good. Can't call him a good person, but he's doing good things, good for him.

That one fairly early scene in the Ranpo episode where they have to pull him out of the river, probably.

Idea for a story

Hm, I don't usually write Dazai-centric stuff? (With the exception of the Copycat one) but either something focusing on him and Chuuya's dynamic in the Agency Chuuya AU, where Dazai has to reconcile the boy he met all those years ago with the man he's now coworkers with today... or a scene from a different AU, where Dazai meets a Port Mafia boss at a cafe, and the two of them talk about the tragedy that befell Mori Ogai four years before.

SKK is a fascinating and dynamic ship, but I think the fandom is really sleeping on exploring his dynamics with other characters, especially in AUs that tend to center around SKK. It's not something I feel super negatively on, just a bit oversaturated with it.

Things I would change in Danny Phantom: make Danny and Tuckers friendship and Danny and his bond with his sister the focal point of the big emotional safe haven of the show. Make Danny's parents out right problematic and abusive instead of stereotypical stupid parents Butch Hartmen enjoyes doing. Keep Vlad as the big bad villian(but actually commit to it) or give him a redemption arc. Give Sam a villian arc and explore toxic abusive girls. Especially ones who don't take no from their life long crushes who don't like then back and will never see them more as a friend. Don't let Paulina just be another stereotype. Make pink astronaut end game. Maybe make Danny be the ghost king. God make the game have demon slayer horror and consequences. Imagine if the horror in tht game was like Demon slayer! Last but not least I'd love to make Paulina like this tumblr blog report/writer or something does stuff about ghosts ananthe supernatural.

YES. I really would've liked for Danny and Tucker's friendship to have been explored more as opposed to having Tucker become Danny and Sam's third wheel.

I feel like Jazz's dynamic with the entire trio could've been explored more, especially since it seems like she had more of a bond w/ Sam than her own brother sometimes. But hey, at least she had an obvious bond w/ those two instead of having pretty much nothing w/ Tucker 💀

Considering Butch has a thing for having child abuse in his shows (aka FOP w/ Vicky's existence and Timmy's neglectful parents being why he had Fairy Godparents to begin with), I think Jack and Maddie are an improvement upon that and I would've liked for them to actually be good parents instead of questionable at best, abusive at worse parents so then there could be more angst but not in the sense that Danny fears his parents killing him <- has been reading DP fics

Oh Vlad. He had so much potential and I feel like him asking for what, $500 billion in the finale didn't make sense for him. I do think that him using his ghost powers to save and therefore control the world would've been enough for him and in character. I do like that Vlad is just going to be in space for the rest of his life but also couldn't he have just escaped to the Ghost Zone or whatever 💀? Like, people can't see him when he's INVISIBLE so he could've easily snuck into the Ghost Zone and lived out the rest of his days in solitude to think about everything he's done. I do feel like it was a bit of a cop-out to have the finale's big threat be a fucking asteroid instead of Vlad but eh.

Ooh villain!Sam would've been cool. The ep where Danny got his ice powers was a nice peek into what it could've been like. Also, Sam could've been a badass girlboss <- focusing on the wrong thing here. I would've liked for the show to focus on onesided attraction and not just Fenton's crush on Paulina and Paulina's crush on Phantom but Sam's crush on Danny. That could've been during the whole Gray Ghost thing and how just b/c you're friends/besties with someone, that doesn't mean that the two of you are meant to be romantic partners which is ironic for a demiromantic to say but shh

No cause I LOVE that Valerie wasn't a stereotype and I would've loved it if they did the same for Paulina. Maybe they could've done something like that one FOP episode w/ Trixie being into boy stuff?

I was actually thinking about this earlier and having either Gray Ghost or Pink Astronaut as end game would've been so cool cause both have a girl of color as the love interest and it's not a best friends who barely have chemistry [not saying that's what Danny and Sam are, I'm just talking about the trope in general] to lovers

OH. ANOTHER THING THAT FANFICS MADE ME BELIEVED WAS CANON. I thought Ghost King!Phantom was canon in the show b/c of all the damn fics that had as canon in their AUs and so I was confused by the constant disrespect until it clicked for me that Phantom being Ghost King is another popular phanon thing.

I don't know much about Demon Slayer's horror but I'd assume that it's pretty cool and/or interesting?

Your blogger!Paulina would've been like the PERFECT thing to expand her character. It's genuinely a cool concept that goes w/ her obsession w/ Phantom and then some. Okay, so I couldn't get our precious golden baby in a modern AU. Like nothing I wrote worked, so for Day 6 I've decided to make a mini Playlist with songs I felt fit our boy, particularly with the second chance motif. Here's an explanation for each song and their placement.

Sorry about your parents by Icon for Hire- I feel like it's a good fit for Tamlin't childhood. While it's clear his father and brothers were horrible to him sometimes I feel his mom is not given enough flack too. Unlike the lady of Autumn, she's not in an abusive relationship (that we know of) and Tamlin at least seems to imply she ignored some of her husband's most unsavory actions. Will explore this further in the fic but from what we know of canon the song fits Tamlin's family dynamic well.

2. I Am Only One by We Are the Fallen- Explains Tamlin's loneliness and mixed feelings after the death of his family.

3. Nemo by Nightwish- A gothic song about adjusting to an identity you don't feel comfortable with. Probably how our golden boy felt when he became High Lord when not only he did not want it but gave up his other dreams as well.

4. Get Out Alive by Three Days Grace- Relates to the urgency of the curse and Tamlin wishing for the safety of his entries but we all know how that ended

5. Good Enough by Evanescence- Feylin Romance. That's it I fit this song is peak Feylin romance from either POV you use. To think there was a time when I was rooting for them...

6. Water by Breaking Benjamin- Relates to when the relationship between Feylin turns sour. The singer is mostly paranoid and knows so but keeps sinking further into madness. Can't think of anything that describes the first few ACOMAF chapters more

7.No Parade by Jordin Sparks- Singer gets dumped unexpectedly and does not realize or recognize what they've done wrong. Feels like it fits Tamlin during the time we don't see him in book 2 and he's looking for Feyre.

8. Cage the Best by Adelitas Way- Tamlin going down into a deeper downward spiral regarding his court friends and Feyre

9. Take it all by TRUSTCompany- Breakup Feylin song. Let's just say they're what first came to mind whenever I play this entire album. Let my man be mad about the breakup and court, damnit!

10. Monster You Made by Pop Evil- An admission of guilt but also a confrontation could be used with all of the people that have left our boy (Except Lucien cuz c'mon those two can never hate each other)

11. Nevermore by Art of Dying- An angry healing song about letting go. I feel like before he healed Tamlin would need to let out both the sadness and anger. Foreshadowing for the fic too hehe.

12. Second Chance by Shinedown- Similar to the last song, it's about healing but this one is nostalgic rather than angry,

13. Best I Can by Art of Dying- Song about trying to be better for the sake of those who you love. Can fit any Tamlin relationship from friendship to family to ships. Ends the playlist on a hopeful note.

McCall hunter Anon. I understand exactly what you mean when it comes to AUs that change the open and dynamic for everything. However I argue that the reason I myself don't like them too much is because folks that do such things don't think about the butterfly effect one has on everything else that comes next.

I love your take on it and yes the Argents backstory would be the same however you've given me a question I never thought to ask "why wasn't Scott trained?" I have my own answer for why Melissa gave up the life. But I never thought to ask about Scott and the answer would be he was the opposite of Kate. And on the spot idea would be that Scott was too pure. In a world of boys will be boys Scott idolized and took after his mom with he wanted to take care of people he wanted to take care of everybody even his hyperactive friend styles he took care of when injuries came. He mimicked his mom and her attitude when she was studying for her medical degree. And, Melissa looks at Scott and says I don't want to take taint this. As far as we know, as according to the Argents, females were leaders and men were soldiers. And, if he doesn't fit the roles of either then why not make him something different; a healer.

Using your thoughts a dynamic that I now want to explore is Deaton. If Mel has the backstory that she has then that would mean she knows who Deaton is. What if Scott's whole Outlook on life to help everyone and job came from a change of heart hunter and a heartbroken emissary? Such a thoughts, both minds and yours, I feel wouldn't change the story but it would change\depend the dynamic of a few people.

For me, I always prefer the simple answers. When it comes to "why wasn't Scott trained the way canon Allison was?," Occam's Razor suggests that regardless of what type of Hunter the McCall's would be, Scott's asthma would be an obstacle. Unless you want to make the McCall parents as bad as Gerard, they're not going to ignore the fact that it would not be very good if a hunter has an asthma attack in the woods in the middle of the night. I'm sure that there are other roles an asthmatic Scott could play in a McCall Hunter AU, of course, but it remains a valid possible reason for him not being trained.

I want to push back on any description of Scott as pure. I don't think you meant it in the way it's usually taken, but it is still a dangerous idea to me. Canon Scott is not so much different than any other teenager in the show: Stiles, Jackson, Danny, Lydia, Isaac, Boyd, Erica, etc. He's ambitious to make first line, to make something happen in a life he sees as 'sitting on the sidelines'; while he falls in love with Allison, he is definitely lustful; he is resentful of his father's absence. Melissa may have encouraged him to be compassionate and courageous, but he's not inherently better than any of his peers. When it comes down to it, he's the heroic protagonist because he makes better choices according to his own judgment.

"Purity" as a trait in fiction appears as often and can be as damaging as "destiny"; they become shorthand for "the hero is the hero because he was always meant to be the hero and thus has an advantage in being better." Which means, of course, that those who aren't heroes were never meant to be the heroes, and thus somehow have a disadvantage. I feel this is what leads parts of the fandom to dislike Scott because they, wrongly, feel that his role as heroic protagonist means their favorite character is supposed to be seen as inherently bad. (For many, this offends their racism.) This isn't true. Scott not only could have chosen wrong but he sometimes did choose wrong. He's the hero because, in the critical moments, he decides to do the right thing. For example, he had every reason to listen to Stiles and abandon Derek to his fate in Formality (1x11), but he didn't. He needed to save Allison, and no matter that Derek had just betrayed him to Peter and just tried to kill Jackson, Scott believed that Derek was the type of person who would help him.

But pushing back against "purity" also means I have to look at Scott's relationship with his mother. I don't think we're supposed to take Melissa as some sort of perfect parent. She's not portrayed as such. She's never shown as uncaring about Scott, but she is significantly detached from his life, even during Season 1, in a way that no other parent (aside from Corey's) is indicated as being. I feel this is a function of class and narrative necessity, considering how much her work is empathized. Fandom makes a joke about Melissa doing everything at the hospital, but I don't think we're supposed to dismiss it. Melissa always being at work isn't laughed off by the narrative and that makes her distant. Unlike the Sheriff for example, she has no idea that the sacrificial ritual is causing her son any problems. She misses Scott's uncharacteristic aggression toward Isaac and is confused by Scott's lack of control in Anchors (3x13). And what's more telling is that even after these situations -- she never follows up. This never changes. The scene at the start of Creatures of the Night (5x01) demonstrates this. Scott isn't "pure" because Melissa is always there for him; he makes good decisions despite Melissa being involuntarily neglectful.

I push back on this because of the way parts of the fandom try to insinuate that Scott didn't earn the True Alpha status or even something like a positive relationship with his friends. Or that he was given special treatment instead of the bullshit he was put through. It would have been very easy and justified for Canon Scott to have actually hated Derek enough to leave him to his well-deserved fate, and very easy and justified for Canon Scott to have let the Knowledgeable Adults have their way and execute Void Stiles, and very easy and justified to spend the ten episodes after Status Asthmaticus (5x10) waiting for himself to heal and let other people deal with the Doctors, the Beast, and Theo. But he didn't. And it's that choice, not any inherent quality, that makes him the heroic protagonist.
