some character descriptions and a preview of the opening of episode one for my digimon project!

character descriptions!

yuuta ‘yu’ osada: 

aka: the king of rockin’ (by himself)

physical desc: twelve year old japanese boy with short blue hair, blue eyes, and aviator sunglasses that he wears on his forehead (these are in place of the usual “main character goggles”). he wears a red puffer vest with a white shirt underneath (the shirt has a symbol that sort of looks like a star, it’ll make more sense once i draw him), blue jeans, and blue and red sneakers.

personality desc: he’s a very outgoing and energetic guy who cares a lot about his friends, especially his best friend dansui, whom he has known since he was in second grade. he loves racing and race cars, this interest being brought about by his dad who is a professional racer. he talks with that sort of “radical bro!” speech and will often describe things as “rockin’”.

dansui ‘dan’ enomoto:

aka: the danster, dan the man, danerino, danny boy (all by yu)

physical desc: twelve year old japanese boy with spiky brown hair, black eyes (think izzy and joe), and light yellow headphones. he wears a blue and white striped shirt, khaki cargo shorts, black fingerless gloves, and blue rain boots.

personality desc: he’s very introverted and shy, and only feels that he can truly open up when he’s around yu. he’s very clumsy and is often anxious about breaking things or messing up. he has a big brother named enyo that he looks up to. he loves swimming and pretty much anything to do with water and music. he dreams of one day being a dj once he has the confidence.

preview of the opening of episode one! this is mainly to display character dynamics:

(Pan around schoolyard, zoom in on two boys walking and talking to each other)

??1: “I’m tellin’ ya, it’s super duper easy, trust me! People aren’t so scary after you get used to ‘em!”

??2: “Well how am I supposed to get used to them if I don’t even know how to talk to them..?”

??1: “Just do what I do! Walk up and say..”

(Walks up in front of him doing exaggerated arm movements)

“Hey!! I’m Yuuta Osada!”

(Name “Yuuta ‘Yu’ Osada” appears on screen for a couple seconds)

??2: But.. I’m not as bold as you are..”

Yu: “It’ll be alright, Dan. You’ll just have to keep trying until you can make new friends!”

(Name “Dansui ‘Dan’ Enomto appears on screen for a couple seconds)

Dan: “I sure will try..” (Dan sounds very doubtful and hesitant.)

(Yu playfully elbows him. He completely ignores Dan’s apprehensiveness.)

Yu: “That’s the spirit, dude! If you can make friends with a totally awesome and rockin’ guy like me, you can definitely make like, a bazillion more.

(Dan has a look on his face that says “Seriously, man?”)

i’ve actually been working on this for a while now! i’ve spent a few months planning this. anyway, i hope you enjoyed this little preview. i know it was kinda long, sorry. i gotta go to sleep now, it’s mega late. 🤍🩶🖤💻

Batfamily Pride Month Special

Stephanie and Cassandra recently came out as bisexual and lesbian (though Cass being written as bi or pan or straight fits her), and since it’s their first Pride Month, they’re not exactly sure what to do. So, they decide to ask their nearest LGBTQ experts.

They meet up with Tim and Kate at the mall, sitting together for lunch.

Cass: We have a question to ask you two.

Stephanie: It’s about Pride Month.

Tim: What do you need to know?

Stephanie: What do we do for Pride Month?

Tim looked at Kate with a knowing smile and took a sip from his milkshake. Kate cleared her throat, ready to tell them what she’d told Tim.

Kate: First, we go to the hospital to see if they’ve found a cure for our gayness. Then, we pray to God for forgiveness. And after that, we hide away. Oh wait — that’s what my great-aunt Lizza told me. Then I told her to eat a sandpaper cock.

Tim: You remembered the exact speech you used with me? Impressive.

Kate: It comes in handy.

Stephanie (typing on her phone): I have to use that last part with my deadbeat dad when Father’s Day rolls around.

Cass giggled, shaking her head with a smile.

Cass: We appreciate the lighthearted comment, but we want to celebrate our first Pride Month and aren't sure how.

Kate: I’m proud of you for wanting that. Honestly, what we usually do is go about our normal lives, buy pride stuff before July 1st hits—

Tim: Laugh at people who complain that it’s also Men’s Health Month and that should be more important, even though they only bring it up during pride month.

Kate (eating her general tso): Since serving in the army, I also get a kick out of homophobes demanding more holidays for veterans and troops, while ignoring all the holidays that already exist for veterans.

Tim: Do they ever backpedal when you bring up those holidays?

Kate: All the time. Then, when I tell them I served, they start stammering. "Gay people in the military? That just doesn’t compute."

Tim laughed.

Tim: After I came out, I hesitated telling people right away that I’m bi. I wait. I wait until they say some homophobic bullshit.

Kate (chuckling): What do you say then?

Tim: “You know I date both genders, right?” And I watch the terror spread across their face. After that, they either double down or backpedal.

Cass (sympathetic tone): Oh, Tim, I’m so sorry you have to go through that.

Tim: No need to apologize. Watching people put their foot in their mouth is hilarious. It’s better than getting offended or upset, I save those reactions.

Kate pointed at Tim, nodding in agreement.

Stephanie (jotting these tips down too): That’s so messy, but that’s why I like you guys. We’ll stay friends no matter what.

Tim: Thanks. Oh, and Kate took me to a Pride parade when I first told her. It was fun, great food, and although there were people protesting with picket signs, standing there stewing in their audacity, we always got a good laugh at their reactions.

Kate: Remember the lady with pancake makeup who screamed at us for being sinners who’d burn in hell?

Tim: Then you used a Bible verse about how her outfit would doom her to hell first and she took a swing at you, but you punched her in the eye. Good times.

Stephanie: That sounds like fun! We have to go to one! Cass, what do you say?

Cass: A parade with the possibility of fighting or just laughing at homophobes and good food? Sounds like the best time, honestly.

Tim: We probably won’t run into those people, but it’s still fun.

Kate: What if we go as a group? I have dresses you can wear.

Stephanie (hopeful): You already bought them for us?

Kate (smiling softly): I did. And some pantsuits if you don't want to wear dresses. You lucked out with me. How’s it been since you both came out?

Stephanie: Oh my God, it’s been great! Dating’s a mixed bag. Some jerks thought I was faking or being selfish for dating men and women. I just tell them I date people I like. My mom’s been super supportive, but my deadbeat dad? He hates that I’m not straight anymore.

Stephanie spoke with a delighted tone when bringing up her father, happy she could rub salt in the wounds. He was an asshole after all.

Kate: What’s he said so far?

Stephanie: That I’ll burn in hell, I’m no daughter of his, and he’ll disown me if I keep this “phase.”

Tim (disgusted): What an asshole.

Stephanie: Exactly! I thought I’d have to kill him someday to get rid of him, but now? With this, he can’t even look at me. God has finally answered my first prayer, my second prayer is he has a final destination style death.

Cass (after looking at Steph with a loving glance): And Lady Shiva has actually been supportive. She wore a “Free Mom Hugs” shirt when we met up a week after I told her I liked girls and said she’d kill anyone who tried to hurt me for being gay. I told her not to do that, but it’s nice she’s thinking of me positively.

Kate (wiping away imaginary tears): I knew that crazy woman wasn’t all bad.

Tim: You’re silly. Hey, if we go to the festival in costumes, do you think Bruce will let me wear his rainbow Batman suit?

Stephanie: Oh God, don’t wear that gaudy suit. Just the cape.

Kate: Yeah, that cape’s the only cool part of that suit. We all wear capes to the parade!

Stephanie: Yes, queen! I call dibs on the bisexual one!

Tim: That’s not fair; I came out first!

Stephanie (smirking): Yeah, but mine was done better. I came out to my homophobic dad while he was in prison.

Kate: You both can have the bisexual capes. I’m wearing Bruce’s rainbow bat suit cape since I make it work best. Cass, you can wear my lesbian flag cape.

Cass: Yes!

I think the most annoying part about all of this watcher shit is that if they had just originally said they'd be releasing content earlier and ad-free on their own website, none of this would've happened. Like sure maybe people would be a little bit upset/disappointed they couldn't afford to see things earlier, but at the very least they wouldn't have completely obliterated their reputation and ostracized their fan base. They just went about this in such a shitty and demeaning way and I'm glad they apologized and backpedaled, but I sincerely don't know how they come back from this, especially after it took them three days to respond. I don't know how their audience will ever be able to trust them again

So I'm reading The Hobbit right--been going a bit slow because of travel and being suddenly called into work--and I just finished Chapter 9.

I cannot stop thinking about the friendship disparity between Bilbo and the dwarves. It's driving me up a wall in all honesty. Cause like, even if Bilbo didn't fully see them as friends in the beginning, he always refers to them as his friends or the dwarves. And he always seems, despite their complaining and his brief moments of "God I wish I wasn't here with them and their ruckus", to hold a high level of respect for them. But the dwarves don't return such a favor. They don't even start to like him until Chapter 8! It was always "Oh they forgot about him." and complaints about how he shouldn't be accompanying them.

Like, just to provide some quote examples (mainly for myself lol):

"Yes, lots,” said Bilbo, before he remembered not to give his friends away. “No none at all, not one,” he said immediately afterwards. (Pg. 35)

“What’s all this trouble? Who has been knocking my people about?” “It’s trolls!” said Bilbo from behind a tree. They had forgotten all about him. (Pg. 38)

“He wondered whether he ought not, now he had the magic ring, to go back into the horrible, horrible, tunnels and look for his friends. He had made up his mind that it was his duty, that he must turn back—and very miserable he felt about it—when he heard voices.” (Pg. 85)

The dwarves wanted to know why he had ever been brought at all, why he could not stick to his friends and come along with them, and why the wizard had not chosen someone with more sense. (Pg. 86)

“From which you can see that they had changed their opinion of Mr. Baggins very much, and had begun to have a great respect for him (as Gandalf said they would).” (Pg. 152)

“They all thought their own shares in the treasure would suffer seriously if the Wood-elves claimed part of it, and they all trusted Bilbo. Just as Gandalf had said would happen, you see.” (Pg. 162)

Like when they refer to themselves as Bilbo's friends it feels, at least to me, that they don't really see him as one. That they simply call him a friend because Gandalf is there and thinks highly of Bilbo. Or in like the way where they don't really see him as a friend they intend to keep, more of an acquaintance but saying "friend" is more polite/formal to do. Friend in the way where they are forced to be friends with each other but one thinks low of the other and therefore finds every opportunity to complain about it.

And then in Chapter 9 Thorin says to Bilbo, “A pretty fine burglar you make, it seems, when the time comes. I am sure we are all for ever at your service, whatever happens after this.” (Pg. 165) and I just crumple and fall over because I know how this story ends and what is to become of, at the very least, Thorin and his nephews. (I have been told that more of them die by LOTR, but I am unsure who!) And like perhaps you can argue that Balin had a bit more respect for him than the others, Bilbo does note how they get along a few times, but that is still 1/13. I am just head in hands.

And, since I already have a decent length post going, I cannot stop thinking about these quotes:

“There is nothing like looking, if you want to find something (or so Thorin said to the young dwarves). You certainly usually find something, if you look, but it is not always quite the something you were after.” (Pg. 55)

“But all night he dreamed of his own house and wandered in his sleep into all his different rooms looking for something that he could not find nor remember what it looked like.” (Pg. 104)

LIKE JUST OH MY GOD. KNOWING ABOUT THE RING AND HOW THE STORY ENDS AND I JUST THE THORIN QUOTE AND APPLYING IT TO BILBO AND THE ADVENTURE!!! Like I don't know how to express the words right now but... the idea that Bilbo wasn't looking for an adventure but he found one and it offered him a sense of connection unlike anything in the Shire and embraced the "Tookness" inside of him which inherently reconnects him with his mother. And the second quote, I just- I don't know a lot about the ring. But my best friend has lightly explained some of the implications as they appear in LOTR, and I just... Bilbo searching for the ring in his dreams. Although I do also think that the quote would more relate to my previous sentiments with the first quote, but I just wonder if his dream was like that because of being in possession of the ring I suppose. Anyways it's 3am so time to go get some sleep!

Nick himself said that his knowledge is confined to the leaks prior to s4, the s4 scripts from his verified source (likely within a source) and basic knowledge most fans paying attention have been able to formulate about s5 based on what has been released officially/unofficially, trends from Netflix and common sense.

He is saying based on all that, he doesn’t think byler is happening. 

And if we think back to what the Duffers themselves shared in the 4x09 script, it literally implies Mike’s monologue worked, and that it was entirely genuine. This tells me that the script the Duffers released for Emmy consideration, is not that far off from what Nick saw for himself. 

I think it’s likely Nick got something that the average below the line worker might manage to get their hands on if they tried hard enough. A copy they know they have to water-down to prevent these very situations from happening.

Unfortunately for the Duffers, it just so happens that they didn’t scrub their watered down copy hard enough.

Unfortunately for Nick, he admitted that it’s possible and even likely that the production will release things that aren’t exactly accurate with the sole purpose to lead fans sleuthing astray, without realizing it may have ironically already happened to him.

truthfully i was really disheartened by the news. this on top of the ceo's recent behavior has left an incredibly foul taste in my mouth. it just sucks since I've been in this site far longer than I've been on any other platform and it's been where i've been most comfortable, now it's making me reconsider staying here at all.

there are alternatives like cohost, sure but i've also made a lot of roots in tumblr which makes it hard for me to leave. if we're just talking about this art blog, i could easily just uproot and be somewhere else. but I've other blogs I've put a lot of effort into putting together and holds a lot of dear memories.

for the time being i think i will stay here, turn off the ai partnership/third-party sharing (i encourage everyone else to do so) and continue to operate as i usually do. i do continue to try and test the waters in bluesky and cohost though, but i haven't had a lot of free time to do so recently
