I need more fanboy Clark Kent in my life.
Like, he's seen Bruce Wayne interact with a child once and immediately fell in love with the guy. Now his bedroom walls are plastered with posters and he follows several social media accounts focused on capturing pictures of Bruce with kids and/or animals etc. He defends Bruce to anyone, no matter the antics he gets up to and it has become a bit of a running gag around the office.
Then, one day, Cat is out sick and someone jokingly suggests Clark should cover the gala in her stead, seeing as Bruce Wayne will be there and maybe this'll be Clark's shot to finally get his man? To everyone's surprise, Perry really does assign the gala coverage to Clark, who spends the days leading up to the event in a state somewhere between absolute panic and ultimate bliss.
But when the day finally arrives, Bruce doesn't show.
Of course Clark does his job and interviews everyone there (yes, even Lex Luthor) but a part of him spends all night waiting for Bruce to crash the party late, like he so often does.
Eventually, Clark gives up hope and it's shortly after that, that he stumbles upon one of the children dragged along to the event by their parents. Because apparently someone thought a charity gala was a good environment for an eight year old. The parents are nowhere in sight and the child is close to tears, so Clark makes it his mission to cheer the little girl up, regaling her with stories from his upbringing on a Kansas farm while he searches the crowd for her family.
With Clark thus occupied, he doesn't notice Bruce Wayne finally making his appearance for the night. But Bruce definitely notices him. The gentle giant who's all kind smiles and corny jokes... Until he finds the girl's parents. Uncaring of the fact that he's here on a job and that these people are richer than any one person should be and could easily sue him into oblivion, he takes them aside, fire in his eyes, and tears them a new one for losing track of their kid like this. Anything could have happened to her and maybe the readers of the Daily Planet would like to know about that? After all, how reliable and trustworthy could a company whose CEOs won't even look after their own daughter really be?
Bruce is immediately smitten. The passive-aggressive lecture and subtle threats - not to mention the broad shoulders and handsome face - are incredibly attractive to him and he wastes no time cornering the man afterwards.
Clark, who is so starstruck by the mere sight of Bruce coming towards him that he loses the ability to speak, nearly faints when Bruce just straight up shoves his tongue into his mouth. They end up in one of the coat rooms and Clark thinks that's it, just a one night stand. It sucks that he won't see Bruce again, but the night was amazing and at least he has the memory to treasure, right?
He thinks that right up until he gets to work the next day and two dozen red roses are waiting for him on his desk. There's a handwritten card nestled inbetween the petals and on it is the name of a restaurant along with a date and time. It's signed by Bruce.
And that is how Clark gets together with his celebrity crush.

For everyone who’s mad about David Corenswet playing Superman instead of Henry Cavill, here’s some stats…
George Reeves played Superman from 1951-1958.
Christopher Reeve played Superman from 1978-1987.
John Newton played Superman from 1988-1989.
Gerard Christopher played Superman from 1989-1992.
Dean Cain played Superman from 1993-1997.
Tom Welling played Superman from 2001-2011.
Brandon Routh played Superman in 2006 and then again in 2019.
Henry Cavill played Superman from 2013-2023.
Tyler Hoechlin played Superman from 2016-present.
Now it’s David Corenswet’s turn.
Pretty regularly since the 1970s, someone new has been playing Superman roughly every few years.
I understand that Henry Cavill was mislead and treated poorly by the studio (which sucks). But stop acting like Superman being recast after a decade is an unheard-of, shocking crime against you. It’s been the norm for fifty years.

Thor [ CLOSER ] and whispers into Clark's ear: ❛ i’ve noticed you’ve been staring at me this whole time. ❜
@fadingobjectrp || sexual tension || accepting!
Tumblr media
“I doubt you’re unaccustomed to that - people staring at you, that is.” This... gathering, whatever it was for he’d long since forgotten, had started to wear on Clark’s patience. He could play nice when needed, obviously, but getting dressed up for various events for the Daily Planet was his least favorite part of the job. Ironic, he knew that, given his other job, but that was neither here nor there. “It’s not very often I’m around a fellow godlike man - excuse me, an actual demigod in your case.” No point in playing coy with someone who could easily knock him on his ass, Clark figured. “You look about as thrilled to be here as I am, so shall we take this conversation elsewhere? The less prying eyes and perked up ears the better, if you ask me.”

For all your Conner Kent fic writing needs!
He was never created to be SuperBOY. He was just let out of his clone tube early. Chronologically, his development stopped at about age 16. He's a year older than Bart Allen, and two years older than Tim Drake.
The Kid spent his first year as a superhero in Hawaii. He was also mostly a publicity stunt.
He is tiny, compared to Clark. In fact, he's only an inch taller than Tim (but about 25 pounds heavier)
One of his aliases for his secret identity is Carl Grummet (based on the writer and artist for his original comic)
His signature leather jacket has been replaced dozens of times because it gets destroyed in most of his fights.
Kyle Rayner taught him how to draw, and he sculpted the statues of the Young Justice members that stand in their display room.
His powers sometimes get away from him and act out his subconscious desires- they once destroyed every handgun in the city when he was upset, and while getting frustrated trying to give a baby a bottle, it blew up.
He sleeps with a teddy bear.
Fellow DNAlien Dubbilex was his tutor, and Kon considered him his dad. He also considered his agent's daughter Roxy to be his big sister.
He. Is. A. Geek. He is a rabid Wendy The Werewolf Stalker fanboy, quotes Star Trek from memory, and collects rare Magic the Gathering cards.
He briefly had a crush on Cassandra Cain and was even her first kiss, but they both realised that what they both wanted was to be friends.
The piercing in his left ear is actually from the Project 13 identity tag that he had in his clone tube.
After Project Cadmus shut down, he was homeless and living in the bathtub at Young Justice HQ. Because he doesn't have a firm grasp on how the world works, when he tried to get an apartment of his own, he tried to pay his rent with a bag of toys and snacks. Eventually he ended up as a superintendent at a slum building.
Before he was adopted by the Kents, he used to visit them from time to time, hoping to get affection from Ma Kent.
The Justice League once strapped his ass to a nuke and blasted him into the multiverse. There, he met dozens of other versions of himself. One of those versions was a Robin who took the role after that world's Tim was killed.
And of course, for your shipping needs:
He can pinpoint Tim's voice out of everyone in Gotham, as well as track him across the globe.
He knows that Tim tried to clone him after he died.
After their first mission together, he thinks that he and Tim are going to end up as Bart's parents.
Tim's 'Robin voice' seems to turn him on.
He has dreams about Bart as a Playboy Bunny version of the White Rabbit.

anyways clark is so uncle vibes and thats great.
dick specifically calls him uncle clark, damian sees him as such but of course refers to him as kent, not clark or anything else.
dick and clark have this weird relationship where they're not quite "uncle/nephew" they're more "older cousin who helps you annoy the fuck out of your parents". it's been that way since dick was a kid.
clark would take him on little flights and would be the one to entertain him on missions when bruce wasn't there to look over him, or clark felt bruce was expecting too much of the literal nine year old.
but as dick got older it developed into "hey clark do you wanna watch me do a triple back handspring and vault over bruce's head" and clark would always respond with no hesitation "sure kiddo, go ahead!!" and he watches and when bruce gets angry, clark always takes every bit of blame.
as dick took on the nightwing name, clark is his one key role model for how he rolls. and clark visits him probably more than anyone, they have little meals together and clark keeps up to date on everything going on. gives him pointers and small tips dick didn't really think about otherwise.
dick, from day one, was a superman fanboy and you know what? he still is. to this day. he squeals everytime clark leaves and still has merch and posters.
and they do still fuck with bruce. do not get me wrong on that.

Little Kid Tim going to Metropolis to take pictures of Superman. He got too cocky in his evasion skills. He managed to hide from Batman! He forgot to factor in super hearing. Now he was stuck Staring at Superman as his cape blew in the wind and the moon shone behind him. Maybe out of instinct or maybe out of shock Tim snapped another picture.
Superman could hear deep breaths, a pounding heart, and the little pitter patter of feet following behind him. Someone was following him, not only someone, a kid. No older than 11 if his heartbeat was anything to go by. Concerning, it was getting late and Clark was on his last Fly around the city for the day. Looked like he would need to care another fanboy back home. Then he hear the tell tale Click of a Carla’s snapping a photo. Clark smiled looked like he had a min reporter on his hands.
Clark had done some dangerous things for a good shot, but he was also Superman. He had to get this kids back home. He could find him and maybe give him a lecture on Photography safety 101 later. Clark Kent making a visit to some school wouldn’t be such a bad thing.
When he flew to confront to child he wasn’t expect them to boldly take a photograph of him.
—-
Aka Tim snuck to Metropolis to get a photo of Superman and Clark just assumed he was a wannabe reporter.

It's something that just came to my mind
Clark Kent is talking to the Batman while Riddler and S/O are spying on him and S/O is like "What is Superman doing here?". And since people in DC didn't know that it's him, Riddler gives her a weird look saying she must be mistaken. But S/O gives him a long, silent stare "You're kidding me, right?". It comes to the point where she holds a picture of Clark and Superman next to each other, pointing glasses out and Riddler is like "..... 'DING!' YOU HAVE TO BE JOKING!" The man is kicking himself for not seeing it.
For all Riddlers.
A/N: ooohhh the denial is strong in this one
Tumblr media
The Riddlers React to Finding Out Superman's Identity
Arkhamverse Riddler:
Oh please.
Do you really think he’s that idiotic? He’s that ignorant?
(this is not the time to mention he dismissed Bruce Wayne being Batman)
He berates you a couple more times, so he left you no choice.
When you pulled out a picture of the Man of Steel and a pair of glasses up against the real-life Clark Kent below
Edward was silent.
No…NO that’s too obvious!
Although the pictures are damning.
He snatches the photos and huffs.
He admits the two are uncanny, but surely it’s some alien-like cloning technology.
Besides, it doesn't matter! He’s smarter than Kent or Superman anyway
Reevesverse/Dano Riddler:
It takes him a minute to even realize there is a “superman”
Do you mean to say that Metropolis has its own hero too?
But not just a man of the people? A vigilante? Like a full-on hero with powers?!
The last thing he’d suspect afterward is that this Superman…was a journalist?
He was curious as to why Batman would be discussing something with a random journalist from Daily Planet.
Yet when you exclaim how the civilian looks like Superman, he’s pretty skeptical.
Until you pull up a picture of Superman on your phone.
Edward does a double take.
In hindsight, it’s so obvious…
Ed wonders if Batman knows this…he has to right?
Gotham Riddler:
This was the last place he expected to end up when following Batman.
On the roof of a building a couple buildings away from Daily Planet.
Why is Batman talking to a reporter? Surely, he’d go to a more reliable source like…well Gordon is all he could think of.
He also wasn’t sure why he brought you along exactly but the assistance was appreciated.
Ed didn’t expect the next thing you’d bring up though.
Something about how the journalist looks like…Superman?
The Superman? The Kryptonian?
Yeah sure, right…
Ed practically snatched your phone when you exhibited the evidence.
With his usual tight-lipped expression, he hands you back your phone.
He deems it another scheme for another day.
BTAS Riddler:
It may just be me playing favorites…lmao
BUT I do have evidence from the BTAS Writing Bible that says, this Riddler is most likely to figure out Batman’s identity if he actually wanted to that is…
So with that, I’d like to think that Ed would have already figured it out?
Like you may have been helping him do some recon and you’re listening in on the conversation between Batman and Clark.
After a moment a lightbulb goes off in your head.
When you mention the resemblance between Kent and Superman…
Edward chuckled.
Why did you think you two were listening in on their conversation?
He is proud that you were able to spot it though.
Some rogues still don’t believe him when he brought up the most likely secret identity to the Man of Steel.
Zero Year/Capullo Riddler:
Ed only hacked into Daily Planet because he already caused chaos in Gotham City and Star City, so why not Metropolis?
He was surprised to see Batman there and not brooding somewhere in Gotham.
You walked in while Ed was surveillancing the newsroom.
You were about to joke with him about how much of a Batman fanboy he must be to watch his every move.
Until the journalist the Dark Knight was talking to caught your eye.
You mentioned the striking resemblance to Superman.
Edward scoffed at your observation.
Oh, please a journalist? Really?
He will never admit it, but he was kicking himself mentally for not seeing it first. It’s blaringly obvious now.
Twojar Riddler:
Edward doesn’t really care for the Kryptonian.
What good are all those superpowers if he’s not intelligent?
Not to mention his alias would be simple to solve.
Which is why he never entertained the conundrum, what advantage would it do him?
He had much more thrilling and productive puzzles to ponder over.
That doesn’t stop you from shoving two pictures in his face in the morning.
You made the proud declaration that Superman was the featured journalist, Clark Kent of Daily Planet.
Edward was thinking about how he can disprove your claim…gently until he glanced down at the images.
There was Kent, a proud grin to the camera…and Superman smirking to the side…with hastily drawn glasses around his face.
Ed was silent for a moment.
No…there was no way it was that obvious…
They both resided in Metropolis, and had a similar build and face structure…
He bites his lip.
He can’t tell if he should be proud of your deduction skills or hit himself in the head with his cane for not seeing it sooner.
Gotham City Sirens Riddler:
Another Edward that I think either knows or has figured out Superman’s identity.
He doesn’t really care for the Man of Steel.
Ed will just stay in his lane in Gotham City.
Yet when you two chase down a perp into Metropolis.
You two got to see Superman in action.
It was you that brought up how he looked oddly familiar.
Intrigued, he asked you to elaborate.
You said he looked an awful lot like that journalist you two bumped into when interrogating an editor at Daily Planet.
You told him to imagine if Superman had a dress shirt and glasses on.
Ed smiled as you put two and two together.
Ed had long since deducted Superman was likely tied to Daily Planet, a photo of a certain Clark Kent proved as much.
However, to have you reach the same deduction, he couldn't help but beam in pride a little bit.
You have been learning some skills from him after all.
Young Justice Riddler:
Sure he pondered the aliases of all his enemies.
He couldn’t get distracted by that however, it could take months or years to figure it out.
He could have defeated them by then…don’t laugh he could have.
The two of you are reconning outside Daily Planet.
Ed was complaining about not being in Gotham where you both had prior experience with the city.
You rolled your eyes as you kept an eye on Superboy talking to some dude in a white button-up and glasses.
You were about to doze off until you got a good look at the journalist’s face.
You tap Ed on the shoulder, interrupting his rant when you asked if that journalist looked familiar.
Ed mentioned something about how that was probably Clark Kent, a celebrated journalist, and partner to Lois Lane.
You asked if he noticed anything else.
When he shook his head you began listing out his physical features…and how if you just remove the glasses and put him in a blue suit with a giant S and a cape…
Ed’s jaw dropped as he snatched the binoculars away from you.
There’s no…you’ve gotta be kidding him?!
Clark Kent is SUPERMAN?!
Eddie practically rage quits and you’re steady on his heels as he storms off.
Telltale Riddler:
He is aware of the Kyrptonian invader.
And his rather obvious alias…
You would think the Superman would come up with a lower profile.
However he has bigger fish to fry in Gotham.
Apparently a certain Clark Kent was visiting Gotham and was having discussions with the Batman.
When you saw the interaction the moment clicked-
If you just removed the glasses…
You won’t lie, you were rather excited about your deduction.
He cruelly teases you when you mention the likelihood of Superman’s identity.
Edward, practically condescendingly pats your head.
You’ll never be as smart as him, but perhaps at least smarter than the average civilian.
Hush (DCAU) Riddler:
(I realize this Riddler may very well also know who Superman is...but I just wanted to try and change it up, rip lmao)
He realizes that Superman and Batman…seem to be close allies.
He may have a hunch about Batman’s identity but if he could solve Superman’s identity…THE Superman.
One day, Ed may just have the upper hand.
You two were steadily following Batman, gathering whatever sliver of information that Batman may slip out.
Right when Ed was about to give up and just focus his time on another scheme…
You noticed something.
Batman was discussing something, something serious with a journalist that stood toe to toe with the Caped Crusader.
You looked at the journalist, he’s stupidly buff for a journalist…that jaw…and that little curled bang...
Wait a minute!
It took some convincing for Ed to see Clark Kent was Superman…but once you slapped some glasses on a Superman photo, a lightbulb went off.
He’s simultaneously disappointed in himself for not seeing it sooner…he blames it on the burnout.
But he does show gratitude to you, but of course, it was thanks to him you were able to pick up on it too…
Just let him have this one…he needs it.

MAWS S2 Trinity Theory
So, everyone is theorizing how S2 might introduce more superhero characters to the point the finale involves the formation of the JL.
But yk what I think? I think we should take a step back.
For it to be the whole JL, it'd mean introducing a lot of new characters. Keep in mind that if S2 also contains only 10 eps, that's not a lot of time for each one to develop & for us to subsequently connect with. It'll also encroach on Lois & Jimmy's screen time.
Thus, instead of the JL, it should be the DC Trinity.
Introducing Bruce Wayne/Batman:
-It can be the usual playboy vers or maybe a younger rougher vers like Battinson.
-MAWS can subvert his usual 'Beware the Superman' attitude & he instead comes to Metropolis for help (after some testing & stalking observing). It’d also be a huge middle finger to a lotta writers if he outright says something along the lines of ‘This guy? A threat? Please, actual puppies have more malice than him.’
-Maybe he strikes up an unexpected friendship with Jimmy over his conspiracy theories, bcz Bruce being Bruce would definitely be investigating similar cases with dead seriousness.
-He can also bond with Clark & Lois by making fun of other corrupt ppl in power (*koff* Lex *koff* Vicki).
-He unknowingly shows them that like Clark, he too is a good person at his core. Instead of using his trauma as a Freudian Excuse to be horrible, he uses it to be better, stronger, all so a family can safely go home after a great movie.
Introducing Diana Prince/Wonder Woman:
-Maybe Clark assumes she's also a Kryptonian refugee.
-She isn't, she's an Amazon but they still connect. They understand what it's like to have that inherent feeling of being an outsider bcz you'll always be that one adoptee amongst the billions of others born in the world you've given your heart to.
-Maybe Diana/Wonder Woman bonds with Lois. Lois confides with her abt the struggles with being a minority woman (due to her half Korean heritage) & Diana also admits her uncertainty in navigating Man’s World which isn't as black/white as her mother & sisters painted it to be.
-Jimmy is mostly fanboying bcz Amazons are real! Now he just has to know if they rlly live on an invisible magical island (they do).
-She meets Superman both inside and outside of the cape and she sees that this is what Man’s World is capable of bcz at the end of the day, despite the blood in his veins, Clark was raised by Man’s World. All his virtues and strengths were taught to him by Ma & Pa Kent, not Kryptonian soldiers or Amazon warriors.
I love the JL as much as anyone but I wouldn’t mind if the show finds a middle ground in focusing more on the DC Trinity. Each of them have endured loneliness, each of them are full of so much love they want to give to a world that’ll always choose to take first, each of them will always go above and beyond to do what’s right and save others naysayers be damned.
Most importantly? All of them deserve to be happy and maybe they can find some happiness with each other too.

N for DC
N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice)
oh god there are so many more things than 3 that i would like to see in the DC fandom that i dont see. but i'll shave it down to 3
MORE LANTERNFAM -dear god please give me more lanternfam. i want hal! i want guy! i want john! i want kyle! i want kilowog! i want carol! i want razer! i want aya! please god i just want more lanternfam -on that note, i also just want the lanterns to get more respect???? they wield the most powerful weapon in the known universe and are insanely powerful to be able to do so. lets get some respect on their names, please?
midnighter and apollo actually getting the credit they deserve instead of being watered down little bitches -dear god please dc ruined their characters and took away all interesting factors that either of them had and left them soulless shells of the men, nay, gods they used to be. they took away their marriage. they took away their daughter. they took away their beautiful codependency. -instead, midnighter is an edgy batman knockoff and apollo is a superman fanboy -they would not fucking say that -and a lot of fans are seeing their new 52 and rebirth versions and accepting that as who they actually are as characters, and no! they had a rich and vibrant history before the new 52 ruined them -i just want them to go back to who they were, together and apart, before the new 52, where their story actually had meaning and a political message instead of the watered down fanservice "oh look we have gay characters" that their comics are today
more content that separates other characters from the bats so they can get an actual story told -ive complained about this in some of my tags recently, but as someone who is in a lot of other parts of the dc fandom that ISNT the batfam, i'd like to be able to sit down and actually have content for characters, ships, and dynamics between characters that dont involve any of the bats. -im a lantern fan. do you know how hard it is to actually find content for that? there is so little guyhal content, or superlantern, or green lantern the animated series, or hal's relationship with literally any other character when compared to the content for bruce and his kids. -i want to be able to read clark kent content without it being about bruce. i'd like to read superbat where its not about clark being a stepdad to the batkids and completely ignores clarks kids. he has kids and this is as important to his character as bruces are to his. -i want to read flash content without dick in it. i'd like to have comics coming out where i wont have to read about the bats and their misadventure of the year -please stick the bats in an alternate dimension where nothing happens for a year so i can enjoy literally anyone else doing anything else -duke can stay bc he already has literally barely any content for him and i think he deserves to get to grow as his own character for a bit. im putting him in a terrarium with shelter, food, and enrichment and gently misting him with water as we speak. i shall take care of him as he becomes independent and gets to be a kid for a little while. he is being taken care of well -that being said can i please have more fics where we take bruce's kids from him and they actually get to grow a personality other than "gotham vigilante"? let hal steal bruces kids! let clark! let barry! let dinah! please im asking very nicely

MY ADVENTURES WITHSUPERMAN REACTION
EPISODE 1:
Why is child Clark wearing glasses? He has no identity to hide yet unlike in Birthright. Other than that Baby~ and the S!
His alarm clock has a rooster on it
He’s a bumbling, nervous klutz because of his powers not because he’s trying to hide them. Being an adorable nerdy dork is just a bonus
“I had to save a cat” The writers understood the assignment
Clois meet cute
Look at Babygirl trying to flirt
Lady, you work with food, you shouldn’t put your shoes on the counter
Clark is such a Babygirl~ eating three dozen donuts so often the bakers got him his own bib
Little park Roomba
Ok I’m still not onboard with the whole race swapping Jimmy and Perry but I will give them this they made Jimmy an oblivious conspiracy theorist (why does our alarm clock keep exploding) at least it’s a personality besides Superman fanboy and Perry’s personality is spot on
Every buyer or fencer disappeared, wonder why that is?
Patty, I love you
If you're trying to be inconspicuous don't have a convoy of garbage trucks run a bunch of red lights
So, Metropolis is an island in this earth
Clark calls Lois out on using people and lying about it, and she admits she was wrong and grows as a person
Is Clark infused with nanotech?
Oooh oooh animation error his tie is in the rubble when Clark stumbles into frame he isn't wearing one but after Lois hugs him and apologizes it’s miraculously there
So, there’s no police or media coverage for the giant mech fight destroying the docks? And Perry has no interest at all?
EPISODE 2:
So, the baby sized pod grew under the fields, is it using the natural minerals in the earth? I mean it's been there for decades and nothing grew there
“I don’t think that’s a language from earth, son.” It sounds like a bunch of romance languages put together so Esperanto?
I don’t blame baby Clark for being scared that shit would be terrifying to a child
Flamebird, I understood that reference
What eyewitnesses at the dock, no one else was there but you
Jimmy trying to set up Clark and Lois together
Jonathan feigns stomach problems to get out of dodge, so that’s where Clark gets it
“It grew” so the spaceship is getting bigger, how big, will it take over the whole farm, the entire state of Kansas?
“I need to find out who I am, Ma.” “I know who you are, you’re my son.”   oh my heart
Well, that’s different from a bunch of crystals
Jor El’s reaction when Clark says he doesn’t know him
Magical Girl nanotech transformation suit
Ma Kent getting Clark pants so his dick won’t show
Deathstroke is giving Lotor vibes not old bitch that gets his ass kicked by teenagers
Where was Leslie hiding those shoulder pauldrons?
Is Leslie fused with Krypton electricity nanites or something?
So, Leslie’s tech was also Kryptonian and that means those “military” mechs were also alien in origin and that spaceship battle and giant portal opening in the sky was pretty ominous, was that Clark’s wormhole or something more sinister? And does Clark just have a connection to all Kryptonian tech since he’s presumably infused with nanites? And does he still get his powers from the sun or is it the nanites, or do the nanites just enhance it?
Amazo billboard, is that just a reference or will the android show up later?
Clark cleans up his mess because he’s a good boy
So, it’s not going to be a Magical Girl transformation, he can change it like normal clothes
Dammit Jimmy they were about to kiss
Cat Grant, a gossip columnist, stole the byline of the downtown anime fight, so the rivalry begins
Les-Lie Willis
Oh, shit it’s Amanda Waller
now to wait a week for Episode 3

Thoughts on the new intro sequence for My Adventures?
Adore it.
youtube
More than anything shown so far, this perfectly captures the "anime Superman" aesthetic the show is going for. Quick thoughts:
Love the rock & roll theme, wish it had some catchy lyrics to go with it. All my favorite childhood cartoon themes like Ben 10 had catchy earworm themes that I can recall with ease because of how many times I heard them. Welcome reprieve from every Superman adaption going with an orchestral theme regardless.
Superman winking at the camera is enough to make a hardcore Superman fanboy cry. God we're finally getting a Clark who isn't a stick in the mud, and it feels so good.
Clark and Lois are so fucking cute together, and Jimmy's reaction is hilarious.
Again it sticks out to me that while Jor-El shows up, there's no onscreen showing of the Kents in the intro. Could they actually be dead in this show? Don't want to get my hopes up but it's starting to feel like an actual possibility
Cackled that all three of the trio have their own "anime power up" moves
And finally we have the big showing of the villains. Starting from the center and going clockwise it looks like the shadowed figure is Brainiac, the smaller figure in front is either a spoiler character from the leaks (AI Lara, who I've just realized is basically this show's take on Eradicator) or Zod, then Livewire, Mxy, some kaiju monster that might be Parasite (hope not, I don't want a technological Parasite), someone who could be Bloodsport, Deathstroke, or Atomic Skull, then Amanda Waller, generic Intergang thugs, Silver Banshee, a guy I don't know but I've seen others speculate is a minor Intergang bad guy called Rough House, and finally a guy I'm guessing is Metallo.
Like the Kents the biggest omission that stands out is no Lex. Doesn't bother me at all to not have him for the first season.
Regarding the villain designs, I love Mxy's. His comic design of just being a regular dude in a suit is terrible. A 5D sorcerer-imp should look much more demonic or at least otherworldly, so their redesign is welcome. Waller looks fine and if that is Bloodsport I like their take on his DCEU redesign. Silver Banshee and Livewire I'm not a fan of. Making them tech based is boring and a downgrade from how they look in the comics. I guess Livewire will also be a member of Intergang to justify the change and that I'm fine with.
Metallo, if that is him, looks New 52 inspired which isn't my favorite design but is a great story foundation for his character if that's what they're drawing on. With the focus on Clark & Lois' romance I'm wondering if Corben will start out as a rival for Clark's affections, and with Waller in the mix we might get General Sam Lane, Waller, and Metallo hunting Superman. That would make for great drama - Clark and Lois are in love, Lois' dad is hunting her boyfriend, the guy trying to kill Clark is also trying to woo Lois, could be great. Kinda wish we had a love quadrangle going on with Clark starting off dating Livewire and Lois with Metallo, before the two hook up and their supervillain exes target their rivals (Metallo going after Clark and Livewire going after Lois respectively) in retaliation
Man if that's Bloodsport I hope he kicks Clark's ass and gets to look cool. If it's Deathstroke I hope Supes utterly bodies him.
Funny how amongst all the major redesigns, that silhouette looks like we will be getting a fairly straightforward Brainiac take
Final big thought regarding Lex's absence. Originally this show was greenlit for two seasons, and I hope that's still the case. I could see this first season being about humanity trying to bridge the gap with Superman's natural powers via tech. Brainiac is the big bad to stand out as an evil counterpart of both Superman's alien power and humanity's tech based enhancements. Then in S2 Lex arrives and he starts experimenting with the metagene. Silver Banshee and Livewire get redesigned to be more like their comic selves cause they unlock their metagene powers, Parasite and Bizarro are created, basically we see the rise of the "supervillain" to contrast with S1 being aliens and tech enhanced organized crime.

This week saw the release of yet another episode of "My Adventures with Superman", and I wanted to put out my thoughts on it. It would probably be better to wait for the full season before commenting on the show, but I think its fun to react to each episode as it comes out. Also helps that so far the show appears to have an episodic structure, which makes it more appropriate to judge each episode on its own. And I also have to mention that there's some obvious spoilers here.

Here's my thoughts on episode 3 :
- The opening scene of the show is pure Superman. There's a disaster happening, there are people in danger, Superman rushes in to save the day, while Lois jumps in to try and get an interview out of him. It's great stuff. - I'd like to see more of how the in-universe public reacts to Superman. In the real world, we've gotten so many superhero movies and cartoons, that we've gotten used to superheroes just being an omnipresent thing and that seems to be bleeding into superhero adaptations where the existence of superheroes is taken for granted. But really, the existence of superheroes in fiction should be treated as a big deal in-universe, and I hope the cartoon shows that aspect more in future episodes. It's a good way to make the world and setting feel more realistic. - Clark Kent doing an semi-awkward "Hero" voice as Superman is a nice bit of characterization. It shows that the character is still finding himself and settling into his role as the new champion of Metropolis. - There's a nice bit where Lois asks Clark to do a Superman impression and Clark naturally switches to his "Superman voice", before realizing that he might end up giving his secret identity away, so he pivots to a "Clark Kent doing a Superman impression" voice. And to think that there are people out there who have suggested that the idea of superheroes having secret identities is outdated. Why would you get rid of that idea when you can have fun moments like this one ? - The trailer of the show indicated that the show uses three primary Comic Books for inspiration : Superman Birthright, All Star Superman and Man of Steel (1986). I am...not the biggest fan of Man of Steel, and I hope the influences of that comic are kept to a minimum. On the other hand, Birthright and All Star are solid stories. This episode seems to also take inspiration from Superman Smashes the Klan, particularly in how Superman's powers are manifested by him having visions and strange flashes where his senses are suddenly heightened.

Hey, if the show is taking inspiration from my favorite Superman story of all time, then that's definitely a good sign. - We're introduced to a few more supporting characters here in the form of Steve Lombard, Cat Grant and Ronnie Troupe. They're given a comedic introduction which didn't quite land for me, but the episode moves at a brisk pace, so it doesn't feel like an issue. - And we have Clark, Lois and Jimmy doing some good old fashioned detective work to track down the bad guys. I like how each member of the trio gets to contribute in figuring out the bad guys' plan. It makes it clear that while Superman may be the one with the powers, the other characters are heroes in their own right. - The show introduces three new villains. Rough House, Silver Banshee and Mist. They're given just enough characterization and quirks to not feel generic. So far the show seems to be leaning on the villains being more down to earth and small scale, which works well considering that the show does have a “Year One” feel to it.
- We already have fanboys complaining about how the villains don't look exactly like the comics or how their power sets are different from the comics. It's really funny because both Livewire and Silver Banshee are at best, C-list villains in the comics. They don't have more than five notable stories between the two of them not just in current comics, but just in general. I'm not saying that the characters don't or can't have fans, but lets not act like its blasphemous for an adaptation to change the characters to suit the story. - The action scene is fun enough, though it does kinda feel like a repeat of the pilot episodes. The villains wreck havoc, Superman shows up and gets beaten down by the villains, the villains lose control of their tech, which throws them off just in time for Superman to put them down. Let's hope that future episodes don't fall into that formula. - Like the pilot, there's a scene where Superman gets a vision of aliens and robots on other planets. I know that the show is teasing Brainiac as the possible big bad, and the visions are sure to lead into that. My theory is that Brainiac may be connected to all the high-tech weapons that the villains have been using in the past few episodes. Brainiac has always been a tech-based villain, so it makes sense for him to be involved in this way. As a Transformers fan, this reminds me of the Transformers Animated show. That show had a futuristic setting with all sorts of advanced robots being integrated into the society in some way. This technology was manufactured by the fictional Sumdac Industries, and its eventually revealed that the owner of that company was reverse engineering the technology from the salvaged remains of Megatron, the main villain of the Transformers franchise. This was in turn a plot point inspired by the Transformers movie. I think that "My Adventures with Superman" might do something similar with Brainiac. - We get a romantic flight sequence between Superman and Lois ! I never get tired of those, and the romance continues to be adorable. - When Lois interviews Superman, he tells her that he doesn't know too much about where he came from or who he is, and that's definitely a good thing. I feel like so many Superman adaptations just skip this aspect and have Superman immediately know that he's from Krypton, that his name was Kal-El and that his parents names were Jor-El and Lara, that the planet was destroyed, etc. Usually this is done by having a Jor-El hologram to give convenient plot dumps to Superman. However, you could make a compelling story out of Superman slowly uncovering his origins and heritage, and I'm glad that the show might be going in that direction. - There's still no appearance or even mention of Lex Luthor, Superman's one true archenemy. I'm fine with that. I think there's more than enough Superman vs Lex Luthor stories in both comics and other media. The show feels more fresh and unique by focusing on other villains. And that's episode three. This show continues to be solid and entertaining and while it has its flaws, they're not as egregious as to get in the way of my enjoyment of the final product.
