ik we all like the drama that comes with bernard’s family being villains and tim finding out but like,,, let’s be honest. tim doesn’t give a fuck

steph’s dad was a criminal and he didn’t care enough for it to affect their relationship, so it won’t happen with tim and bernard— no matter how much bernard fears it to be a deal breaker.

the absolute shock bernard goes through is enough to give him whiplash but then tim just explains all about steph’s dad and how he worked for the league of assassins for a little while so criminality isn’t very new to him. bernard’s finally happy to have someone who doesn’t mind his background and tim’s happy bc it’s no longer a secret

bonus if bernard tells tim about the mighty endowed being his aunt and tim chokes on his food bc she was one of the first villains he fought when he was in young justice

i was going through my deviantart page to look at some nina fanart to reference off of and I saw a stamp that was well… an “anti nina the wh0re stamp” which…UM I THINK NINA IS A MINOR HELLO??? And the only character she gets with is Eyeless Jack…she was a fan of Jeff but the author never said that they DATED. and even if they did WHOOOO CARESSS ITS A FICTIONAL CHARACTER!! ITS A FANTASY THE AUTHOR HAS!! that doesn’t make Nina nor the author a whore or a homewrecker.

also THE RACISM IVE WITNESS. okay so the author is latina if i am correct and ofc her english isn’t going to be perfect. but. oh. my. god. the way so many people were literally ripping apart Nina’s story because of it’s “bad english” instead of fucking HELPING THE AUTHOR just infuriates me to no end. and it bothers me that these are the same people who’s first language is English and would still fail their English classes like PLEASE HUMBLE YOURSELF OMGGG.

A rant about Clockwork, Nina, and basically all the fem creeps.

I’m so tired of seeing people saying that Clockwork and Nina are mary sues to make fun of them/bring them down.

Because you know what? ALMOST EVERY POPULAR CREEPYPASTA IS A MARY SUE. There. I SAID IT. Toby, Jeff, both Jacks, Clocky, Nina, Jane, Liu, ALL OF THEM. And that’s what makes them FUN.

You cannot say Nina is a shitty mary sue and hate her but then love Jeff the Killer. You can’t say Clocky is a badly written character and then love Ticci Toby. Because they’re all badly written characters !! And they’re all very similar in the ways that they are badly written. Yet JUST the girls get overhated to death? It’s just fucking misogyny. Sorry to break it to you.

The treatment of the fem creeps in this fandom is fucking sad. For most of the fandom’s lifetime they’ve all been beaten down and hated and had their creators sent death threats and been harassed. Yet all the male creeps (some of which ARE MUCH WORSE) get treated like gods gift to mankind.

Im so happy that characters like Clocky and Nina are getting more love now. It warms my heart considering everything them and their creators were put through. But I’m still sick of seeing people hating on them, spreading misinformation, and mischaracterizing them simply for existing. It’s stupid and it makes me so fucking pissed.

Almost every character in this fandom is a bad character. They were all written by 12-14 year olds with little to no experience writing horror or even just writing in general. It’s not fair to push the girls down for this reason while lifting the men up when they all have almost the exact same flaws in their story.

They all have very traumatic backstories, usually not well written. Their mental illnesses are not portrayed realistically. The stories have bad grammar and spelling. They all succeed way too easily for their ages and situations. THESE ARE THE COMMON THEMES ALMOST EVERY STORY. YOU CANNOT SAY THAT CLOCKWORK’S INSANITY IS HORRIBLY WRITTEN AND THEN SAY TOBY’S IS AMAZING.

It’s honestly so fucking stupid and I’m tired of seeing it everywhere. You don’t have to like all the creeps obviously, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. But when it comes to this kind of hate and mistreatment I’m so done.

Rant about Nina Hopkins / Nina The Killer as a character

so i like nina a lot.... could u guys tell...... i bet u couldnt.... no but srsly i like her because her story has a lot more to it then "i went crazy and killed my entire family" she had LAYERS she didnt want to kill her brother nor did she start out crazy - nobody did tbh but she didnt start off hating her family like some of the other pastas nor was her family bad to her, she was a normal kid !!!!

she was bullied because of her interests and literally just being herself, thats what resonates with me because that happens irl!!! its not just "oh shes ugly" its was her interests and her being HERSELF!!! and i think shes very neurodivergent coded, like her hyperfixation couldve been jeff considering how much she focused on him without even trying to be obsessed with him

her story is so much more than what google says or whatever, even the creator of nina has said so themselves!!! "Nina was once a normal fangirl of Jeff the Killer but turned into an insane and remorseless serial killer after one horrible day at school." NOOOO thats not it ughh fandom wiki why are you SO dumb, it didn't just happen in a day. her backstory happened over weeks and a large time frame of her slowly losing her sanity, jeff slowly manipulated her into becoming what she did

she didnt just decide to comit to being a murderer over night, she didnt want to kill her brother she was tricked into thinking she was saving him from the world when she WASNT ughh. Jeff knew what he was doing and the creator also didnt just make nina admire her because the creator liked jeff, no, the creator of nina knew how to properly write manipulation and they knew that jeff was in the wrong in that story. YOU DONT SEE THAT OFTEN IN CREEPYPASTA BACKSTORIES

in many oc backstories they're all like, "slenderman saved me from my abusive family." but with nina the creator KNEW jeff was bad and wrote it like that on purpose because it wasnt meant to be romantic it was meant to be an outlet oc. Nina wanted to protect her brother and idolized Jeff for "protecting" his brother when in reality he screwed up the both of their lives, Nina didn't realize that because she was a TEENAGER!!!! She didn't know any better and she doesn't deserve the hate she recieved. im not playing the age card but cmon, she faced all that hate and bullying of course she's going to believe the first person who tells her that shes worthy of love and shes capable of something.

"Nina was the reflection of everyone who admired Jeff and wanted justice as he did." Nina's creator was 13 years old when nina was made, she was bullied irl a lot. A LOT. She had nina as an outlet and a comfort oc who admired Jeff and wanted JUSTICE like he did because he stopped his bullies. She is so much more than a fangirl omg.

in the rant the creator talks about how they would wake up every single day to 25+ comments of people telling them to kill themselves, that their oc sucks, and drawings of peoples own creepypasta ocs killing nina

but through it all they were still like, "not everyone will like her! thats okay, because i do." BUT the hate got to much for a 14 year old and they talked about how theyd cry every night omggg

Hannibal Lecter: Anthony Hopkins ..i swear, that man.. is creepy on screen. If you disagree…. well, try watching his thriller flicks. hell… he's scary without saying ANYTHING. he's already scary when he STARES. -_- don't get me wrong though, Hopkins is a GREAT actor… even when he plays in nonthriller flicks.

King Arthur: Clive Owen. hands down. Yeah, JT is not even within an INKLING of Clive Owen as Arthur. I mean… COME ON. That voice…those eyes. uhm. yeah. i'll shut up now.

Hamlet: Laurence Olivier …..don't get me wrong. the others were great. but…. yes, there's a but. and that "but" is that they aren't Laurence Olivier. LOL. Olivier was…. a legend. Gibson was too…. i dunno…ruffy? is that even a word? Branagh was… great, as usual… but Olivier is still better. and the other guy? uhm…. dunno him…haha… but it seems like a modern interpretation of the play. and…..well… if you know Hamlet… then you also know that a modern Hamlet is…. nothing but an emo kid… really. >_>

as for your question I unfortunately couldn’t find anything specific like a comment by Elvis about having to wear a dress for the scene but knowing that he was prideful, especially about his image, I would imagine he likely wasn’t too thrilled about it although probably never voiced any opposition about it either

by that time in his film career he had made so many of the same kinds of pictures, requiring him to do so many humiliating things, that I think he became almost desensitized to the material. He knew he had no choice in what would be asked of him and so he just did the best with what he got

I just came accross your replies to my book Irene rant. Yes as we both agree book Irene was great. As an individual character. I don't see ship there and in BBC? There's no ship but cruelty. Irene is cruel and BBC Sherlock was visibly uncomfortable with her thoughts and messages. And Sherlock being human, in TBB did people notice how he comforted Sarah? He's always human. Irene Adler in BBC just used it. Worst depiction of empowering woman. As a woman it's a disgrace.

Yeah, Sherlock most definitely was not enjoying himself in ASiB, and I'm always boggled when people think it was "hot". I dunno, it's not my jam, honestly.

I think in her own way, BBC Irene was a good character, but they just... kind of "fetishized" her, for a lack of a better word (it's not what I mean, but it's more like Mofftiss have this weird "hurting Sherlock" kink and it's just kind of off??). All the women in the show inevitably get washed away somehow, or written out of character to how they were initially written (and this is only including "main" recurring characters):

Molly => Reduced back to S1E1 Molly, simpering over Sherlock after they established her to be a character who grew out of her crush on Sherlock

Donovan => In trying to make her a "strong character" they instead reduced her to stereotypes and then inevitably she just... was never seen again.

Anthea => Just disappeared, no mention of her character, if she was even still Myc's assistant

Sarah => Literally disappeared from the show, never to see her again

Mrs Hudson => WTF was her characterization in S4?? The car thing was so bloody weird, like out of nowhere

Irene => Reduced to a sex joke

Mary => Was going to be a badass villain and instead had the shittiest "redemption arc" that all the characters essentially idolized her for some godawful reason

Hopkins => I put her on here because she was LITERALLY HEAVILY PROMOTED as a new main character in S4 before it aired... and then she was only a one-note side joke with three lines of dialogue in one episode. Never showed up again after T6T.

Euros => Don't.... even get me started on her. Was some weird X-Man supervillain, who's entire arc was... needing a hug from Sherlock.

And I was also gonna add Baby Watson here too, but she's more an issue of "introducing a baby into a show and have it disappear when it's inconvenient" kind of trope.

Bleh, and I know this is ALL nitpicking and all my opinion, so it's fine if y'all disagree. I love this show a lot, and it's frustrating that it has HUGE gaping flaws in it, LOL. Anyway.

I think all the characters on the show ARE great characters, they just suffer from Moffat's inevitable decline in writing the longer something goes on when he's in charge, LOL.

The Art Gallery of Ontario, one of the biggest galleries in Canada has fired it's curator of indigenous arts, Wanda Nanibush over her comments about Gaza/Israel after a pro-Israel group complained

A Canadian art gallery has fired an indigenous person and curator for recognizing colonialism and the genocide of an indigenous population for what it is.

Arts and cultural workers in Canada are calling attention to the sudden departure of Indigenous curator Wanda Nanibush from Toronto’s Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). Members of the local arts community began raising suspicions last week when they noticed that Nanibush, AGO’s inaugural curator of Canadian and Indigenous art, was no longer featured on the museum’s website.

Now, an anonymously leaked complaint sent by the organization Israel Museum and Arts, Canada (IMAAC) to the AGO on October 16 has spurred concerns that Nanibush’s public comments on the Israeli occupation and bombardment of Palestine may have played a role in the decision. Signed by the leadership of the Toronto-based group, including Art Canada Institute Founder and Executive Director Sara Angel, the email complaint alleges that Nanibush was “posting inflammatory, inaccurate rants against Israel.” The letter, verified by Hyperallergic, decries Nanibush’s social media posts referring to Israel’s role in genocide and colonialism, actions also decried by multiple human rights experts and organizations. Formerly known as Canadian Friends of the Israel Museum, the IMAAC supports Jerusalem’s Israel Museum and its programming, according to the organization’s website. 

“It’s an appalling letter,” Ontario-based multidisciplinary artist and activist Jamelie Hassan told Hyperallergic. A recipient of the 2001 Governor General’s Award in Visual and Media Arts, Hassan pointed out that Nanibush’s departure now raises questions about who will continue to lead the museum’s Indigenous art exhibitions. 

Hopkins noted that Nanibush has been a vocal critic of “the insidious nature of colonialism and the ongoing violences of settler colonialism.” 

“What her departure implies is that this is no longer a comfortable conversation for large institutions and that the work that many of us have been doing to create more just institutions is now no longer stable and safe,” Hopkins continued. “When topics like decolonization are rendered taboo, the future for Native voices in this field is bleak.”

The leaked letter in question:
