Ranking the Ace Attorney main cast on whether or not I think they'd be a narc
I was making a more coherent, serious post about the different approaches to justice each of the characters have and how that is shaped by their backstory... and then I realized a funnier question is what they would do if they saw you eating a weed brownie so I made this post instead
Phoenix: In the trilogy era, yes. He trusts people, but believes that trust has to be built on pursuing justice and always accepting the harsh reality. He'd be sad about it, but a narc nonetheless. In his Beanix era he's making his money through "totally legal gambling" and on the hunt for questionably legal evidence so I have no doubt in my mind there's a pot farm under the WAA for supplemental income. He gives up his narc ways and for that I salute him
Apollo: If I were to pick a single member of this cast who is NOT invited to the rotation it would be him. He had zero hesitation throwing Kristoph to the wolves after working for him for years so I know he has absolutely zero qualms about ratting out his friends or coworkers. Loyalty means nothing in the eyes of justice and it means nothing to him. He's a narc.
Athena: She's gonna lecture you and look all sad about it, but she's no snitch. She's been through the rounds with Simon so she gets it. Having to know you hurt her feelings is enough of a punishment in her eyes
Edgeworth: He's not a narc but he IS obsessed with being right, so if you don't immediately fess up with exactly what you're doing he's going to send your stoned ass to the chess dimension and honestly I think that's worse
Franziska: Unfortunately she is a cop. Narc.
Godot: Diego-era yeah he's a narc, but after the coma? I feel like he has better things to worry about, he would just ignore you. He has some soul searching to do and some grief complexes to unlearn he doesn't have the time to be a lil snitch. Post prison I think he's stoned somewhere in Kurain and chillaxing, as is his right
Klavier: Don't let his rockstar attitude fool you he's a narc and extremely annoying about it. The gavinners tour bus is dry as hell and it's all Klavier's fault. Daryan offers him a line and he gets all uppity and says "the only LINE i want you doing is the third line in the prechorus, you keep messing up the syncopation" and that's the end of that discussion
Simon: He's been in prison so he knows what's up. Not a narc. Might glare at you until you share though
Nahyuta: He's a narc and will lecture you so long about it you're tempted to turn yourself in to get out of earshot. He also never forgets and never forgives. Datz is trying to reform him but it isn't going well
Sebastian: Yes, but I think the idea of him having to turn in someone for it would make him cry so they end up comforting him instead. Kay thinks he needs to try a weed brownie
Maya: I want you to look at me and tell me she doesn't smoke weed. Not a narc
Pearl: I think if she found out that her big sister figure smoked weed she would have a heart attack. Def a narc
Trucy: I can say with absolute certainty that if you really wanted weed she could find you a dealer faster than anyone in the cast. Trucy is a magician and has grown up around a variety of people involved with some seedier institutions, she knows better than to snitch. Has not been and will never be a narc
Kay: Will help you shoplift. Not a narc
Gumshoe: A narc on principle, but would feel really bad about it and would probably let you off with a warning if you started crying or acting upset because I think he's a softie. He's not unreasonable
Ema: If you think she has even the tiniest sliver of respect for cops you're lying to yourself. Not a narc and will actively help you evade police out of principle. A homie, honestly
Fulbright: Not only is he a narc but he definitely runs the DARE program at the local highschool and is printed on half the posters they put up in the precinct. I'm also like 80% sure he doesn't actually know how weed works

Autistic Anime Boys Side B Round 1 Match 29
Tumblr media
Propaganda:
Apollo -
"Not canonically autistic but he has ZERO volume control plus he scripts/repeats stuff (“I’M FINE!!!”), sometimes mimics other people’s speech patterns (like replying “ja” to Klavier), sensitive to loud noises (stayed backstage at a concert cuz it was too loud) and bright lights (complained about the stage lights being too bright at the same concert + screamed when opening the hatch to the bright stage at magic show), and has been really into space since he was a kid, which could definitely be a hyperfixation (not to mention how he read every single one of Phoenix’s old case files back when he admired him). Plus he’s a little TOO normal, to the point where it circles back around to making him the odd one out, which is absolutely what masking feels like for me. Even when he tries to be fun and weird he gets strange looks/made fun of for not being weird in the right way. The list of autism symptoms is just a checklist for him at this point."
Tobio -
"kageyama is this setter (it’s a volleyball anime. means he coordinates plays and helps ppl spike) who at the start of the series is really angry and extremely lonely. but then bc of hinata (mc) and the rest of the team, he learns more about how to interact with other people and how that’s how you can win. he does go way too far with this and ends up not advocating for what he thinks the team should do, but hinata reminds him that if he gets mean again they’ll just tell him that and that he can say what he thinks too. he’s autistic bc i said so. my evidence:
- he started playing volleyball literally as soon as he could (like. when he was five).
- he’s been ostracized multiple times for being too obsessed with volleyball and not having normal interests/level of interest, and for being ‘too good’ at volleyball.
- he has a lot of trouble with social cues and social skills. like a lot. when he has trouble communicating with people/understanding people, he often gets angry.'

What music would you believe would represent Mizrak? I was thinking his theme song would be, ✨"Unholy" by Sam Smith.✨
Because he is doing something unholy with that pretty face dragon vampire.👀👀😉
You've opened Pandora's box here. To tell you I have MULTIPLE playlists for both Mizrak and Olrox (and multiple playlists for their dynamic) is an understatement. Right now they're a mess/all over the place, but Unholy by Sam Smith is definitely on a couple of them. It's super hard for me to pick like ONE SONG, so I'm giving you multiple HAHAHAHA.
Here are a few songs I personally think fit Mizrak, categorised by general Mizrak and spicy-core Mizrak. Also, you're getting explanations for each song because I think too hard about my music choices. BTW, all thoughts are my own, I'm just being really silly since season 2 news is coming soon and I'm excited.
pspspspsps when nocturne s2 comes out make sure to watch it and give the crew the recognition they deserve coz they worked their asses off.
General:
Tumblr media
Hell's Comin with Me - Poor Man's Posion This describes about bringing justice to those who have wronged him (and in this case others). Also, there's a line about "paying twice as much for the devil to keep your soul", which I feel like is a reference to indulgences but flipped on its head. Indulgences were an actual thing people paid for so they could secure a place in Heaven. So flipping it on its head to double it so they can be ensured they stay in hell is a very cool way of looking at it. Also, Providence, Feed the Machine and Give and Take get honorary mentions because they also fit well but this will get hella long if I also give them explanations LOL.
Foreigner's God - Hozier A song about uncertainty and isolation from the catholic church. To feel alienated by its ideas and values since Mizrak has been doubting about what Abbott is doing before the events of Nocturne take place.
Icarus & Apollo - Ripto Now this also can be a Mizrak/Olrox dynamic song, but also this can be seen as Mizrak's own self-discovery which is his conflict of the Abbott's path on 'protecting' the church and its people, versus how Mizrak personally thinks/wants to protect people. Collaborating with vampires and using night creatures, DEAD PEOPLE is not a path I think he wants but he's stuck unsure of where God is calling him to, and it's a path he has to figure out himself.
Wine and Wheat - Madds Buckley NOW, this is another Mizrak/Olrox dynamic song, but this leans more into Mizrak's POV along with the fact he's again, conflicted about his place amongst his fellow monks/Abbott since he has to conspire with vampires to keep their place against the revolution. COUPLED WITH THE FACT, he's sleeping with a vampire, it's a very confusing time for him, and all he can say in the face of it "Pray with me, pray with me for this madness to end" while he does the best he can to keep the people he cares about alive.
Father Finlee - Spencer Hood, Justin Ray Stringer I will admit a lot of this is for vibes, BUT, also this song is about a man who defies an almost impossible situation and escapes out alive, with Mizrak's perseverance, the burning passion to live, and the potential to die while trying to save others, is a very him thing.
Spicy-core:
Tumblr media
side note from me, I feel like we moved far too quickly from this one shot LIKE WHAT THE FUCK /pos
His Hands - Blegh This is actually one of my favourites I'll be so honest HAHAHHA. (Also just the whole album of It Was a Religion by Blegh mostly fits if you think about it). This one steers more into Olrox/Mizrak dynamics because the song starts off very similar to how Mizrak and Olrox get to know each other. They 'do it again somewhere more comfortable' HAHASDJDS. But after that is all exalted from their bodies, there is something between them that they can't place and the tension is THICK. Also the gradual build of the lyrics "And you know you love him, And you might be in love with him, And you know you love him, And you're falling in love with him" IS CRAZY.
A Night to Remember - Beabadoobee, Laufey This one is super self-indulgent, this reminds me of them a lot HAHHA
Take Me Back to Eden - Sleep Token DOOMED YAOI. Not only do we have religious metaphors to describe a relationship here, is a doomed relationship.
The Summoning - Sleep Token "Did I mistake you for a sign from God?" HELLO? Like I know this is a song very much associated with Astarion, but ik this song works for Mizrak POV and Mizrak/Olrox dynamics. In my mind, I think Mizrak IS looking for a sign from God, anything that comes by his way to confirm his doubts, and Olrox just so happens to be a soft nudge that he should be doubting the system he grew up in.
Salvation - Christabelle Marbun I don't need to elaborate further if you look at the lyrics, let alone the title itself HAHHA. Also, this song is super self-indulgent, like there's no way I can't include this in a spice-core Mizrak thing.
Whisper - Burn the Ballroom Simply the lyrics "Come in, sit down, sweet angel, leave me all your tears." Biting the walls over it.
Whoops that was long but uh I have a lot more and its super hard to condense down to a few LOLOLOL, ty for the ask!

MHA Dr #3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Name: Apollo Kamiyama
Birthday: January 24th
Height: 5'7"
Appearance: Low-key just a pretty boy. Imma add some art breeder photos at the bottom for more visuals of like my facial features. I combined multiple ones into a few that I liked. But yeah, I'm really pretty and I have freckles and curly hair 😻😻 me and midoriya twinning 🫶🏾🫶🏾 scripted that I remind people of the actual God Apollo if he was a human on Earth
Backstory: This one is a very interesting backstory lol. Long story short, my parents were devoted worshippers of the Greek gods. To show their devotion, they allowed the gods to bless me, aka their first child. So I have the blessings of the gods, like Percy Jackson type blessings, as if I were their child. They named me Apollo in honor of the first god they worked with. But that's not all 😏. They wanted me to become one of the greatest heroes. I was born with no quirk, so they gave me an advanced version of my parents quirks with some blessings of course. And that's how you get the gamer system, but the version from the web novel "Solo Leveling". I was born in Nigeria, but moved to America and did school there. I moved to Japan to do highschool at UA of course 💪🏾💪🏾. Don't know if imma actually script siblings, I already have some here 😭
Quirk: My life is mostly like a RPG player. I have quests I receive from the 12 gods themselves and some others. I can do anything a RPG player can do. The gods can open gates like in the webnovel solo leveling which the Gods open the gates to help me get stronger, with mythical greek monsters too. After my first gate, which the Gods use to test me, I get the skill shadow extraction, like from solo leveling. Anytime I defeat a monster, I can resurrect them to join my army under my command. In the original they are black and blue, but I scripted them to white and gold. The gates that the gods spawn can only be seen by me, and if I want others to see them then they could. The blessings I got from the gods show up as passive skills in my system (This whole quirk makes more sense if you read up on the main character's power).
Voice claim: Probably more higher than I sound in my other realities. I scripted something around Kenma Asmodeus (obey me), and Milo thatch combined. Just soft, pretty and angelic. "I sound like a beautiful tune from the instruments that the God Apollo would perfectly play" quite literally from my script
Extra info-
here are all the blessings and what they actually do (I don't get them all at once. There are six I get first, then I get the rest later on. They can grow from there too)
Zeus ⚡- power to control all elements (I start with the 4 basics, before moving into Lightning, metal, etc.)
Hera 🦚 - blessed with a loving relationship in my family
Poseidon 🔱 - power to breath underwater and and summon water beings on command
Hades 💀 - (couldn't really decide on one from him. But just something not over the top.)
Aphrodite 🦪 - the gift of absolute beauty and power to uncover the emotions hidden deep in one's soul
Apollo ☀️ - blessed with the voice of an angel and the powers of healing. My smile is like a beacon of light and shall illuminate the darkest of nights and usher hope for anyone.
Artemis 🌙 - blessed with the instincts of the best hunter, when needed. I shall radiate with calming light, soothing the ones around me.
Athena 🫒 - blessed with the gift of knowledge and learning capabilities. I can solve any puzzles and learn anything very quickly.
Hephaestus ⚒️ - blessed with the ability to forge anything with the right materials. I know how to use any weapon.
Hestia 🔥 - blessed with the burning desire to bring justice and gifted with the eternal flame.
Hermes 🪽 - blessed with the ability to tell if a person is pure of heart and tell if they are lying. I have the movements of water and can build up to the speed of light.
Demeter 🌿 - blessed with the power to control plant life and animals. Anywhere I go, the place shall prosper
Dionysus 🍷 - blessed with the ability to create anything only when in need. I can always find food
Ares ⚔️ - blessed with the power to solve any crisis and instill chaos when needed.
i have a more androgynous beauty in this Dr. Got a lot of beauty from Aphrodite of course 🙏🏾
I can also communicate with the gods as well and they come like little inboxes in my gamer systems.
I might script that we are rich, but just depends on how I'm feeling.
I have the same skills from the other drs obviously.
Tumblr media
Welp that's it for this reality. This is also a really good way to reconnect with myself in my other realities too. Below are the art breeder pics of me. One more to gooo

You and Jason often worked together.
Quite often, really. Ever since your start as a vigilante, you somehow had just found each other and started working together.
Jason was an ass, yes, but he was probably only tolerable because of his shitty personality because he was not shitty in appearance. Would you ever tell him you found him attractive, or had a thing for him?
No goddamn way.
You two often bickered and fought, hurling insult after insult after each other. But you two were still friends.
People often made remarks about how your interactions with Jason seemed to be borderline flirting, but you always scoffed at that. Jason? Flirting?
In what universe?
There was no way in hell that Jason would ever see you in that light. Much less flirt with you. He didn't seem to have a bone in his body that could stand being even just the tiniest bit nice to people.
However, today was one such day that you and Jason just so happened to not be working together. A rare occurrence, but sometimes you preferred the silence instead of Jason's incessant need to argue all the time.
◣━━━━━━━━━━━━━━◢◣━━━━━━━━━━━━━◢
So far your patrol had gone smoothly, with Gotham being just a little more quiet than it usually was. But that was fine, it just meant you had to sit in silence for the next few hours you were patrolling.
You push yourself off the ledge of the building with one foot, leaping over the gap that marked an alley below you. And you land on the other rooftop with ease, landing with as much grace as you could muster. You did wobble, of course, but nothing too bad.
You continue this routine, leaping and landing between rooftops of various buildings. Sometimes you jump into the balconies of some poor fellow when you didn't quite time your jump correctly, but it was nothing more than startling some poor sleeping person in the middle of the night.
But after a few minutes, right as you were thinking of ending your patrol, you were surprised.
Well, surprised wasn't quite the right word to describe what happened. Ambushed was.
You'd been mid-leap when the attack came, colliding with the back of your knee just as you were pushing yourself off the ledge of another building.
The force of the impact had caused your knee to crumple, which sends you plummeting downward. And when you land, you don't land right.
You land face-first into the pavement, instantly knocking all the air from your lungs as pain instantly blooms across your entire body.
Your stunned for a moment, vision swimming from just the force of the fall before you attempt to push yourself up by your palms.
Only for the sound of someone landing behind you to resound with a dull thud, and when the footsteps stop just at your side, you don't get a moment to prepare yourself.
Because in that same moment your being hit over and over again. On your back, your legs, everywhere. You manage to roll over onto your back at some point, manage to land a kick right on your attackers knee to make them grunt in pain.
Your body is burning, muscles in agony as you force yourself to your feet. You force your body to respond to what you want it to do as you start fighting back, and your opponent just decides to say "fuck it" with the weapon because it was only slowing them down.
Slowing them down as in because it seemed to be just some metal pipe that took a lot of force to even hit you as hard as it did.
So suddenly your in a fist fight with some criminal who you recognize to be some sort of low level thug for this new criminal organization trying to form in Gotham.
You dodge some hits, but you wind up taking more hits than your dodging because the pain has your mind reeling, even as you try to focus.
◣━━━━━━━━━━━━━━◢◣━━━━━━━━━━━━━◢
You weren't even sure just how long it took for that dumb fight to be over, because at one point more of the guy's buddies showed up. One had a knife, which cut you up pretty bad. You'd been stabbed a few times too, and were definitely in bad shape.
But you couldn't exactly go to a hospital, because it doesn't matter if there's laws for patient-doctor confidentiality, your identity would still get leaked to the press, and you wouldn't be able to have a normal life outside of being a vigilante.
So as your hand clutches at your side, growing warm with your blood that pools out of the deep gash there. Something that you were pretty sure was going to need stitches.
Your muttering curses under your breath, words that none would probably even dare to speak around their mother with as much confidence or attitude as you were. Your trying to think of just somewhere you can go to, because you definitely would not last long enough to get back to your apartment.
And the only person who is close by is Jason.
So you just say fuck it, he'll be a douchebag about you getting hurt on patrol, but he'd still patch you up. You hope.
◣━━━━━━━━━━━━━━◢◣━━━━━━━━━━━━━◢
You practically stumble and hurt yourself worse when you land on Jason's apartment balcony, causing you to get winded as that burning pain shoots up your spine from the gash in your side being stretched with your movements.
The light turns on from behind the curtain of the sliding glass door in front of you, signaling that Jason had heard your painful landing on his balcony.
Somehow your still standing upright, until he opens his sliding glass door.
"The fu⎯ baby? The fuck happened to you?" Jason's eyes go wide the moment he sees the way your standing. Notices the way your clutching at your side, and how your costume is ripped and torn.
He takes special notice that the fact there's blood dripping from the side your clutching desperately at, because his eyes linger there.
"Nice to see you too, dumbass." You manage to get out, before pretty much just losing all strength you had to stand.
Jason does catch you⎯ for once.
"How the hell did this happen?" Jason asks, practically dragging your body inside his apartment. He rests you in the first seat closest to his balcony, which is his couch.
You let out a hiss of pain from the movement, and Jason just mutters something. You don't quite make it out, though.
"Got ambushed on patrol. Fuckers from that new group of wanna-be hotshot villains." You manage to groan out, chest practically heaving as you nearly pant from the pain that leaves a white-hot sting in every muscle of your body.
Jason's swearing under his breath, a string of curses that you can't quite make out either as he disappears for a few minutes before coming back. You didn't know whether to be surprised or honored he brought his entire first-aid kit to you.
Your eyes flutter, tempted to close them in just hopes it'd ease the pain. But you quickly open them again after a moment.
Jason's back in front of you again, and if you weren't in pain you'd make some smart-ass comment about him kneeling on the floor in front of you.
For once, Jason is weirdly quiet. Super quiet, as he's got some sort of wet towel in one of his hands to wipe some of the smeared blood off you. And in normal Jason fashion, he's not being gentle at all as he wipes the blood off.
Which only makes you wince, body jolting away. "For once in your fucking life, Jason, be a little gentle."
"Simply get a higher pain tolerance, fuckwad." Jason quips back, continuing to wipe the blood away, mostly from around the gash in your side that your still desperately holding. But he does take the hint and isn't as rough.
Now that most of your blood was wiped away from the cuts and bruises on your skin, Jason had a clearer view of the damage.
And boy, was there a lot of damage.
Jason sets the blood-soaked towel down somewhere to his side on the floor, still on his knees in front of the couch he'd just unceremoniously dumped you on.
The expression on his face isn't one you've seen before, so you don't really know what he could be thinking, nor what he's feeling. You just know his brows are furrowed, same way they get when he's frustrated or angry.
You don't even realize Jason had started cleaning the gash in your side until you feel the sting from the betadine Jason was using to clean the wound. Yea, it stung. But you didn't have the greatest tolerance for pain, especially not when you were exhausted.
So you writhe in pain, one hand practically gripping the couch cushions for dear life as you clench your jaw. Jason pauses for a moment when you do this, glancing up at your face with that same emotionless expression.
You weren't even sure just when that gash had stopped bleeding, though. Not that you could remember for just how long you'd been bleeding before you'd managed to get to Jason's apartment.
◣━━━━━━━━━━━━━━◢◣━━━━━━━━━━━━━◢
Eventually most of your worser wounds were cleaned and stitched up, which just meant wrapping a bandage around the ones that needed it.
Of course, you had a bit of your energy back. Enough to be the smartass you usually were, but still just downright exhausted.
Jason was in the middle of wrapping up your stomach, shirt lifted just high enough to allow him to-do so, his hands brushing against the bruises on your stomach every now and then. Which didn't really feel pleasant, but that wouldn't stop the words that immediately fell from your lips. "If I didn't know better, Jason, I'd say you'd just want a really bad excuse to touch me." Once again, the smartass you returns. In all your flirty and teasing glory.
Jason's eyes narrow as he glares at you. He'd never been a fan of your remarks, as flirty and teasing as they were. It was what sparked most of your arguments, anyway.
"Shut the fuck up before I make you,"
That's all you get out of Jason in reply just moments later.
Before you can make a snarky remark back, Jason's already finished wrapping the bandage around your stomach, quickly gathering the supplies from his first-aid kit and bustling away. Leaving you alone for a few minutes before he returns empty handed.
"You were an idiot. Do you not keep track of your surroundings anymore?"
You roll your eyes at Jason's remark. "Oh, please. Don't scold me like your Bruce or something. You don't got the right to."
Jason forces himself to take a deep breath when you say that. You always knew how easily to push his buttons by simply just the mention of Bruce.
"Still. I could have been finding your dead body on my damn balcony, you idiot."
You only let out a tired laugh, though for only a moment as your laughter causes your side to ache. "I'm breathing right now, aren't I? Stop worrying so much."
Jason just clenches his jaw and remains silent, instead opting to just drop the subject. How else was he to convey that he was, for lack of a better word, worried about the sight of your bloody and bruised body suddenly slumping into his arms, on the one night he wasn't on patrol with you?
He didn't really quite understand why he was like that. Why he reacted like so. Maybe it was because you were his close friend, someone he didn't think was quite as intolerable as the others.
Perhaps that was it.
It was definitely just that reason, right?

Apollo Justice x reader. Head cannons for relationship
APOLLO JUSTICE x READER | written by MOD clever
warnings; A few cuss words here and there but that's it-
headcanons for Apollo Justice in a relationship...
Tumblr media
Ace Attorney; Apollo Justice
First thing to know about this man- He doesn’t fall in love easily. But when he does? Man, he falls hard. He’s a dedicated and passionate individual, someone who isn’t open to dating someone unless he knows that they’re the right one.
You have to be someone he’s known for a long time. He’s been through a lot, and even though he continues to say that he’s fine, you need to be someone who can actually see through his facade and care for him as a person. Though he’s stubborn, he’ll be practically putty in your hands.
Apollo appreciates intellectual stimulation and enjoys engaging in deep conversations with his partner. (Taxes. /J) He enjoys being able to just have a full conversation with his partner, either it be about a trial coming up, or something random that you enjoy. With that being said, Apollo is also a great listener and a reliable source of emotional support. He genuinely cares about his partner's well-being and will lend a listening ear whenever they need to vent or seek advice. (Even if he's completely awkward at it at first.)
Dates? You mean spending time at a crime scene trying to figure out what the hell happened with Apollo's secret younger sister? Yeah-
Seriously though, Trucy definitely has third wheeled y'all a lot. So has Phoenix. Phoenix absolutely will tease Apollo in front of you.
"This is (Y/N), the person I was talking about earlier." "Oh, couldn't you have found anyone better?" "Mr. Wright-!?" "I was talking to (Y/N)-"
Isn’t exactly that big on PDA. He gets flustered easily, face- Hell, entire body going red at any type of affection from his partner. Grab him by the face and pepper his face with kisses. Hold his hand and shout with him that you two are fine. Let him know how much he is valued, admired, and loved so you can make his heart soar.
Leave small hand-written notes for Apollo to find throughout the day- You don’t understand how much that will brighten his mood and make him feel special. These notes could include words of encouragement, affectionate messages, or even playful inside jokes. At some point, he’ll start writing little notes back, and it’ll become a little thing between the two of you. (You two have a little jar of unopened notes for each other for whenever either of you need a pick-me-up.)
Apollo appreciates whenever his partner cheers him on in court. Though, most of the time he’ll miss the sighting of you, and ends up a bit surprised whenever he sees you after court, waiting for him- But just the realization that you had been there, so excited for him to reveal the truth and provide justice has him absolutely melting.
Loves cooking with you. Is he a bit horrible at it? … Yes- BUT HEAR ME OUT- The guy is a romantic at heart, and longs for a domestic life after everything he’s been through. He loves the idea of standing next to you and learning how to make something with you. He knows how to make everyday things, like- he knows how to make eggs and such. But anything past that is stuff he needs help with.
His siblings give him the teasings of his life whenever you’re around. Even if it’s ever so subtle- Or completely obvious- (COUGH COUGH- RAYFA-) Though, prepare to be completely confused when Apollo’s siblings start speaking Khura'inese. (Don’t worry, Apollo’s confused too- He barely knows anything in Khura’In tongue-)
Old-School kid. He has a vintage record player that he… Doesn’t use that much- He just loves it too much to give it away. He loves taking Polaroid photos and putting them into a little scrapbook (Most photos are of you but shh-).
He tries to surprise you with dates, yet they never really seem to work in his favor due to how chaotic the people are in his life. He wants to be extravagant, yet his work schedule (and wallet-) tells him ‘Absolutely not.’ So dates usually end up with just watching random movies while helping Apollo work on an upcoming case.
You must like Mikeko. Mikeko must like you. I don’t make the rules, he does. Genuinely, he loves his cat so much, and if you aren’t willing to get along with his cat, then there will be a bit of a problem. Of course, if the two of you get along, he’s already getting the wedding ring- /J
Apollo pays attention to the small details and remembers the things that matter to his partner. Whether it's their favorite snack, a specific interest or hobby, or a meaningful memory, he shows that he's invested in their happiness by remembering and incorporating these details into their relationship. Though, he does this absolutely unintentionally. The guy doesn’t even realize he does this. Must be the lawyer in him-
Strong man /J I wouldn’t call him *that* strong, his arms are though- Has pretty buff arms- Strong upper-body strength. This is another thing he doesn’t quite realize? It’s quite funny watching him realize this over-and-over again, to be honest. That being said, he definitely will accidentally pick you up if you hug him.
Lawyer- Lawyer business- Meaning his schedule is usually filled to the brim with upcoming cases and such. It’s a bit difficult to find some quality time with him- It gets a tad worse after the whole Spirit of Justice arc. Just be there for him, ya’ll.
Isn’t used to having someone be there for him 24/7. He’s lived a tough life, lost many people along the way of becoming an attorney, he’s used to the concept of loss. He’d be so scared of losing you as well, seeing how horrible his luck was around this certain topic. He’ll shout that he’s fine, when in reality, most of the time he isn’t. Hold him, and make sure he knows you’re not going anywhere.

22, twobat. heard u were talkin SHIT
22. While someone demeans your lover, standing up for them. Either in word, or by physically placing yourself right in front of them as a protective barrier. im thinking about emotional dysregulation and a strong sense of justice and how bruce is the reason alfred lost all his hair. in the words of karkat vants: anger can be a love language. alksdjnfsldjknfs i am NOT editing this
You get in fights for him. You've been getting in fights since no one gave your parents a chance to, something in you quick to snap and your fists faster than anyone could stop. You don't know how many strings Alfred had to pull to keep you from being suspended in middle school, but you know it was a lot, because he used to pick you up with a sigh written in the lines of his face, white gloves hiding the tension in his hands on the steering wheel. Sometimes he tried to argue with you about it. You never folded, because you were certain you were right.
Your school records are a mud-stained mess of arguing with teachers, getting in between a bigot and a victim, and the crack of your fist against someone else's jaw. You grew up stocky and angry, and you never had a problem taking things outside so someone else didn't have to. You think a part of you still feels like if you take on every fight yourself, no one else will ever have to get hurt. Regardless, it means that the college you get into isn't near as prestigious as everyone expects of you, and you know Alfred had to grease a lot of palms to do it. You think he's hoping maybe you'll keep your head down for a few years, and the intellectual challenge will be enough to keep your fists steady.
But then you meet Harvey, and he's simultaneously everything Alfred wants for you and everything Alfred doesn't.
He's optimistic in a way you aren't, level-headed and determined, but filled with the same drive for justice you are. Unlike you, he got in with scholarships and smarts, and he tells you stories about the kind of lawyer he's going to be one day, and the way Gotham will change. He flips some kind of switch in your brain, and your plan for the future starts to take a slightly different shift, accommodating for a world where you're not the only one who cares. He motivates you. He challenges you. He makes you better, and you think Alfred would like the person you become when you're around him.
At the same time, Harvey's a brown kid struggling with some kind of disability you'd never heard of before you met him, and the privileged fucks around you can smell it. So you get in fights. You're so quick to snap to his defense, putting yourself between them and him because you've never done anything else in your life, and Harvey tells you he's sick of patching you up, because you're bleeding again and he thinks it's his fault and he's trying to make you laugh.
It works. It always works when it's Harvey.
In later years, they'll call him Apollo. He's the handsome white knight who brings light back to Gotham, and he'll find it embarrassing and flattering all at once. You'll tell him you think it's apt, and he'll shove you, laughing like you told him a joke. But in college, he's the sun you orbit your world around, warming you when nothing else will.
The dean calls Alfred after you land a kid in the hospital. He doesn't need hospital treatment, but his friends don't know medicine like you do, and they panicked. He'll be fine. Alfred still calls you, cold, clipped anger in his voice, and you feel like you're eight again, angry and muddy and past the point of reason, the crushing feeling of a meltdown spiraling past what you can handle. Alfred tries hard to be a parent, and he tries to be a butler, and you're his kid and his spoiled charge, and this isn't the first time the two of you haven't nailed the impression of a functional family unit. You fight.
Med students aren't supposed to hurt people. Med students aren't supposed to snap and beat the shit out of other students. Med students aren't supposed to have meltdowns, no matter how crazy the workload is, no matter how much injustice happens in the medical field alone, no matter how much injustice your best friend faces at the hands of people you're supposed to view as mentors. Med students aren't supposed to recognize themselves in the textbooks. The dean is threatening you, and you're supposed to shape up.
In a few days, you still haven't gotten over it. Alfred isn't talking to you, you're not talking to Alfred, and a call from Leslie only makes things worse. You don't go out of your way to pick fights, but you don't need to, because people seem a little afraid to say anything after you sent that kid to the hospital. Harvey tells you it'll blow over with a grim confidence that you take seriously. It sounds too much like he's speaking from experience.
Then, someone makes a comment about your parents. It's not a particularly interesting comment- you've heard much, much worse over the years, and they've lost a lot of their effect. It stings- it's cruel- but you brush it off. You're in enough trouble already, and you've never cared about standing up for yourself the way you do about standing up for others.
Harvey's fist snaps out before you know what's happening.
The kid is flat on his ass, gaping up at you both, and Harvey is brimming with rage. "Shut the fuck up," he says, thick and growling. "You'd be fucking lucky if your parents loved you half as much. They probably only sent you here to get rid of you."
"Harv!" You grab his arm, tugging his attention back to you. You're torn between shock and worry, but worried for him, and what this will mean for him once the stupid kid reports him to the dean. You think for a terrifying moment that he could get expelled, and selfishly, you don't know what you'd do here without him.
You can tell he's furious, but he lets you drag him away, ushering the both of you away from the scene before things can escalate further. You stand in an abandoned stairwell and Harvey's fingers clench and unclench in your sweater as you hold his arms, giving him time to breathe.
"You didn't have to do that," you tell him quietly.
"Shut the fuck up, Bruce," he scoffs. His gaze flickers up to your face, thumb grazing the bottom of a bruise that's purpled in the past few days. You didn't get out of that fight scot-free, but no one ever cares about that. Except Harvey, who always cares. "You don't get to talk to me about when I should or shouldn't stick up for someone."
You don't have anything to say to that. The words all dry up in your throat as you stare at him, caught on the heat of his touch, the soft brown of his lips, and the determination in his face, like he'd do it all over again. You've never met anyone who understood you the way Harvey does, who matched your drive for justice and inspired you so completely. You look at him the way an astronomer looks at the stars, struck by their beauty and complexity- understanding, and yet endlessly wanting to know more, to know everything, to hold something you don't think you ever can. "Okay."
Something pricks embarrassed in his face, eyes shifting away suddenly. You think his cheeks are a little darker, but it's hard to tell.
You'll think about that moment for years. For years, when you hold his face and try to figure out how to tell him all the ways you love him, and when you watch him become the hero you always knew he could be, and when you watch him fall, holding his hand in the hospital and meeting his eyes across a rooftop, you'll think about what it was like to be so young, trying to put words to the way you wanted to press your lips to his. You tell him, once, that you think you're always going to see that little college kid in him, and he laughs at you. His laugh has turned raspy after years of smoking, and the shake of his shoulders makes the chains rattle, but it's the same laugh. "Maybe it's better that way," he says, grinning. "We were two of a kind, back then."
"Three," you correct.
His grin turns a little more sincere, a little more embarrassed. He says his words like a tease, but it's only to lighten the truth. "We thought the sun shined out of your ass."
"That's just the light reflecting off of it," you say, and he laughs again. You still love his laugh.
These days, you fight each other. You don't think it'll ever stop you from loving them both every bit as much as you did then.

Hello everyone! It’s time for another development blog!
Thank you very much for the support I received in the previous post! This time, the focus will be pixel art! In particular, we will talk about the creative process behind the new sprites of the remake.
As some of you may already know, MerúM is the artist in charge of the pixel art in Midnight Train. Let’s ask him some questions about it!
🌙🚂 Interview with MerúM 🚂🌙
Lydia: First of all, could you introduce yourself?
MerúM: I call myself MerúM. I am the pixel artist of Midnight Train: New Moon, and I am in charge of the sprites and animations of the characters. I also worked on Aria's Story and the previous version of Midnight Train doing the same job.
Tumblr media
Lydia: The character sprites in Midnight Train: New Moon look quite different from the original version. Is there any reason for this change?
MerúM: Well, before the switch to RPG Maker MV, I was already working on the new sprites and animations for the Midnight Train remake. However, once we changed programs, I noticed that the character sprites were very small compared to the current screen dimensions. I decided that this was a perfect opportunity to redo the sprites from scratch as well, increasing their dimensions and detailing them more than the previous version allowed me, without wanting to move them too far away from the previous chibi style.
Lydia: Right now, you already completed all the characters sprites for chapter 1. Was there any challenge or something you’re really proud about?
MerúM: After changing the sprites, the expressiveness of the characters has improved a lot. Characters now have many more unique animations and expressions, solidifying their personalities. I think this new style works very well with the aesthetic of Midnight Train’s world and makes them look quite unique from character to character.
Lydia: Could you describe your workflow and what programs you use to create your work?
MerúM: For my sprites, I use Aseprite. Before starting with a specific character, I tend to draw their base sprites and their walking animations. After this, I receive a list of events that will occur in the game related to those characters, and then I create the sprites and animations that fit into said scenes using the base sprites as a reference. Usually, I am in charge of designing how these scenes will look in pixel art, but with some more specific or complicated scenes I have received a quick sketch of how the sprite/animation should look like as a visual aid, and thus arrive at the version that best suits the scene.
Tumblr media
Lydia: I’m just curious about something… Who is your favorite character from Midnight Train?
MerúM: I think all the characters are fantastic, maybe I could consider Neil Lawton my favorite. I think, in the end, we should all be a little like Neil. Even if you are afraid at first to move forward, just do it. This is what Neil does, he may be afraid, but he faces this fear to survive.
Lydia: Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
MerúM: What else could I say? I think Midnight Train: New Moon brings a story that will appeal to anyone who is passionate about mystery stories. By the way, it's fun to mention that in addition to Justice, Purity and some secondary characters, I have been the main designer of Larissa, one of the new characters in this remake. I hope you play Midnight Train: New Moon and get to know her!
🌙🚂 Progress 🚂🌙
I hope you liked the interview with MerúM! I wouldn't have been able to create my games without his help, as I'm pretty bad at pixel art. I'm excited to see all the sprites he will create for chapter 2! I personally can't wait to see Apollo's animations. Now, I want to report about the development of the game. I’m almost finished with the maps of chapter 2, so I expect to start programming this chapter very soon! Literally, there is only one map left…! I wanted to add a new puzzle to this map, so I’ve been stuck brainstorming ideas… Ahh, it feels like facing a final boss before proceeding to the next step.
Thank you a lot for your support and patience! See you next time~

is there anything about lore you do like?
oh ... honey
i genuinely believe this was sent in earnest and i get that being this caught up on the series and still reading is kind of counter to "i hate this series" so genuinely: no, right now there is nothing of the series proper that i like. there is a lot i like in the potential.
the problems with lo are evident right from the start and i won't pretend otherwise; the lolita aspects, the imbalance, the casual disregard for the cultural influences and narratives of the myths and where they came from. i will also say there were some genuinely compelling plotlines and connections! i thoroughly enjoyed eros and his protectiveness of his friends, hera and her grief at being so often maligned and insulted, demeter and her everything. there were a lot of narrative choices i didn't like, but rachel was able to put some basic structures and characters in place that i, and many readers, could enjoy and often build off of ourselves.
but that's the problem. rachel sketched out some bare bone characteristics and narratives - she laid out some shoddy foundations, and the fanbase and the readers are the ones who built anything of substance on them. if you take a look at any character within the narrative proper, their entire personality and choices fall apart: they exist to prop up persephone and her romance with hades, and their own choices and decisions ultimately mean nothing otherwise. most of the story relies on fandom interpretation, and as it's been pointed out numerous times, rachel relies heavily on her fanbase to give her ideas and plotlines for future chapters. it is absurd how little characterization the story actually has, and how often it contradicts itself to bolster whatever plotline is going.
if we use hera, for example (and i'm guilty of genuinely liking hera, despite her shitty choices and actions): hera is a rape victim. she has been abused and used by men her entire life and genuinely resents herself for simply bolstering up those men, rather than exist on her own. when hera finds out persephone has been assaulted, she shows nothing but kindness and compassion - she is someone who, as the narrative tries to point out, understands the nature of assault and wants to see the perpetrators brought to justice.
but - and here's the frustration - although hera promises persephone not to tell anyone what happened, she has a moral and royal duty to bring apollo to justice. when apollo becomes a prince of olympus, she has every reason to come forward. persephone is banished, and apollo is reaping benefits he does not deserve - by becoming royal, hera knows it's going to be harder to bring him down. she has nothing to lose coming forward. moreover, she knows other people know what apollo did! the narrative has made it clear hera wants to defend persephone, but all her decisions are just left lying on the floor to keep the suspense of apollo's assault and whether he'll ever be brought to task for it.
most of the characters within lore olympus are given shallow, surface-level characteristics that they pick up and abandon to suit the storyline. we don't necessarily see them grow - they really just change to fit whatever is expected of them. persephone and hades get the highest focus, but the only actual change we see from them is for the worse; they double down on their negative traits and the narrative tries to sell them as positives, as them being "girlboss" and "king goals." a lot of the characters are flanderized to contrast them to persephone - ares goes from being genuinely cunning and incredibly insightful, if brutal and temperamental, to just some random horndog who wants to bang persephone. hermes is energetic and loving and silly and secretly cunning, to just. present? occasionally? maybe sometimes a comedic figure? hecate might be the most consistent in that she really roots for hades throughout, but she also becomes his yes-man, his frequent approver in whatever idiot plot he wants to engage in. she was able to actively stop hades from interrogating kronos after the great divide, but now she can't even convince him to think of a better plan than a risky sleep dive they already know won't work. and the only reason they're doing the sleep dive is rachel cannot figure out any other way to get the story moving!
so in incredibly long answer to your question, no, there's really nothing i enjoy per say about lore olympus, except for the select fandom circles i involve myself in - the critique of it, basically. i enjoy seeing people take these lukewarm sketches and breathe actual life into them. i enjoy random interactions in the comic that don't add up to the narrative whole but are objectively cute or funny in their singular scene (ares and hermes u will always be my babes.) and yeah, arguably i could spend my time on something productive, and i certainly have hobbies and enjoyments i genuinely like and spend time on! i'm still reading this comic because i would like to see the trainwreck, so to speak, and i love to see how the fans fix whatever mess rachel puts out. and yes i will stan for demeter until my dying breath.

The secret comes out.

September 29, 2028– 1:30 pm
It would have been a typical lazy Saturday at the Wright Anything Agency, except that everyone was getting ready for a wedding tomorrow that Trucy, sadly, didn't have an invitation to. Athena was out with Maya and Ema shopping for dresses, and Trucy had the run of the office with her daddy.
“I can’t believe I wasn’t invited to that wedding, daddy.” Trucy was complaining for the fourth time that morning as she flipped through the office mail. She’d pouted when she slumped in for breakfast. She’d sniffled when Maya, Athena and Ema headed out. She’d stomped through her practice routine.
She was understandably, in her own opinion, pretty upset that she was the only one getting left out of the stupid Sprocket Airship Wedding part three.
"Sorry, kiddo," Phoenix murmured as he looked over he shoulder at the letters in the inbox. "I tried, but all I got was the invite and the plus one. It's gonna be a boring party anyway– they're on the third one after all."
“But this is the first one where they don’t got an evil butler stinking the whole thing up!” Trucy flopped onto her back with a whine. “It’s got an airship, daddy! An Airship! They coulda had me an’ the bunnies do a show a mile in the air or something!”
"I already gave them your card, Trucy," he chuckled, patting her on the shoulder. "Who knows, maybe they'll call you for wedding number four. Hey– any mail from Apollo, today?"
“How many weddings can she possibly have? Save some for the rest of us, jeeze.” Trucy grumbled. She flipped through the last of the mail hopefully, and she bit her lip. “I dunno…nothin’ yet…“he’s been sending less and less lately.”
Phoenix sighed. "He sure has, huh? Starting to feel like he's on the moon…"
Trucy’s sour feelings about not being invited to the wedding were small in comparison to the turmoil that roiled inside her when Apollo Justice was brought up. It’d been months now that he’d been gone, had promised to write, and that he’d still be a part of their lives even if he was staying in the mountains far away.
It’d been several weeks since she’d even gotten a letter. It was like he was vanishing before her eyes, and eventually it’d be months or even years, or long enough that she couldn’t remember his face. Just like with her original daddy, or her mother.
“...he might as well be,” she muttered as her shoulders started to shake.
Phoenix put his arms around her daughter's shaking shoulders. "Hey… hey, Trucy, it's alright. He's not going to be gone forever."
Trucy sniffed, and wiped at her eyes, surprised to find that she’d already started to cry. “He’s gonna forget about us, daddy.”
"No way, Trucy," Phoenix shook his head. "There's no way he could, you know?"
His hand searched for the tissue box on the desk, and pulled a few out, offering them to her.
Trucy snatched the tissues and pressed the whole bundle to her face.
“He super could, daddy! I mean…I mean…he’s got a whole new life there with family an’ everything.” She sniffed. “Why’d he wanna think about us? We messed up his law career…made him clean toilets…I shoulda been nicer and not dragged into my sh-shows!”
He stood there with his hand on her back for a long moment, and took a deep breath. "It's not like that, Trucy. Apollo… has family here too."
“N-nuh uh, daddy!” Trucy wiped her eyes with a loud sniffle. “we woulda known if he did!”
He passed her another tissue and hesitated. "Trucy, there's something I need to tell you. I've wanted to tell you for a while, but I didn't have permission."
Trucy took the tissue with a puzzled frown as she tried to wipe her eyes and nose.
“W…what kinda thing, Daddy?” She tilted her head to the side , and her eyes focused instinctively. Whatever this was…she didn’t want to have to catch her adopted father in a lie.
"When I say Apollo has family here…" He began slowly. She could see how tense he'd become. "I mean you, Trucy."
Her eyes traced over him…she didn’t see any nervous twitch or tell aside from the tension, and she felt her own body tense in surprise as she took a sharp intake of breath.
“W-w-w…what?”  He had to have still been joking, even if she didn’t register a single lie. Sure, there’d been clues…they’d always been so much alike, after all. They even had the same funny little cowlicks…but, lots of people did.
It was common.
Her daddy held her shoulder gently, but firmly, and took a breath. "He's your brother, Trucy. Your half brother."
“......” Trucy’s brow furrowed, before she felt tears burning at the back of her eyes again. “he’s…he’s…he’s my half brother? W-whatta you mean? Daddy didn’t have any other kids!”
"Your mother did."
“....” Trucy’s world was spinning around her as her tears brimmed in the corner of her eyes. “Mommy had another kid…and it was frickin’ APOLLO JUSTICE, Daddy??? And you KNEW?”
HIs hands flew up in defense. "Hey, hey, hey! I was sworn to secrecy, kiddo!"
“By WHO!!! Mommy’s DEAD and it’s not like Uncle Valant would care!” She pressed her hands to her face. “was it daddy? Before he got killed? Was it Apollo? Did Apollo know?? “
"Apollo doesn't know," Phoenix said. He rubbed his hands together anxiously for a moment, and then he slowly put his hands on her shoulders. "And it was your mother, Trucy. She isn't dead."
Trucy’s entire world was shaking around her. The fundamental truths of her life surrounding the many secrets and magic tricks that made up her past. ’Your mother was killed in a magic accident’ and ‘your father left you because he had to vanish after the trauma of her death and Magnifi’s grand inheritance scheme’ and ‘you have no family left except the family you made’...
They were all pulled away in one of the weirdest magic acts of her life.
“.....momma isn’t…dead…?”
"She's not dead," he repeated. "You've met her. She swore me to secrecy."
Trucy sniffed again.
“You’re kidding me…it…it…” she rubbed at her eyes. “It’s someone I know??”
"Kind of," Phoenix murmured. He squeezed her shoulders again, holding her close. "It's Lamiroir, Trucy. She's your and Apollo's mother. It's.. a long story."
“....Lamiroir” Trucy repeated dully. “Famous songstress Lamiroir…who sent me flowers for my big show. And she swore you to secrecy because Justitia forbid me and Apollo know we’re brother and sister.”
She fell against her father with a squeaky, tear-muffled wail.
"Oh, kiddo…" Phoenix held her tightly, scooping her hat off her head, and leaning his cheek against her hair. "I wanted her to tell you both right away."
Trucy tried to respond, but she hiccuped and choked on her tears and held him tighter.
“B-but…but if I’d known I…he…we..” she stammered out with a wail. “I joked about marrying him to Mr. Dhurke! We PROBABLY shoulda known before that, huh?? And n-now my only brother in the world is gonna forget about me in the m-mountains, thinking I’m just an an-an…annoying co-worker!!!”
Phoenix squeezed her. "Truce– honey, I don't think Apollo thinks of you as just an annoying coworker. Not at all. I would have told him before he left, but I only just got permission to say anything. We'll write him a letter, okay?"
“A letter??” Trucy thumped her fists against his shoulder, “daddy a letter’s not gonna cut it!!”
He winced, and ran his fingers through her hair. "A phone call, then. Okay? Next time we can get ahold of him."
Trucy sobbed into his shoulder. “...Geeze…my brother. My-...my big brother Apollo…and momma too? I…I think I’m gonna pass out.”
"Try to stay conscious, okay, bug?" He held her tightly. "I know it's a big shock. I'll get ahold of your mom soon and you two can have a long talk. She owes you, big time."
“Y-you can say that again!!!” Trucy sniffled. “every family I’ve ever had has vanished on me, daddy! And …and Momma owes me BIG TIME for this.”
"She sure does," he nodded. "But hey– you know I'm not going to vanish on you, right, Trucy? Not ever."
Trucy sobbed into his shoulder.
“Y-you better not, daddy.” Her heart sank just thinking about it, and she couldn’t stop the tears anymore. “Please don’t, ever. No matter what.”
Phoenix pulled her tight and held her while she cried. "I promise, kiddo. I promise."

what do u think is the best possible Apollo Trucy sibling reveal scenario, and how do you think it'd actually go? Assuming aa5 and 6 never happened
i'm not sure if by 'best' you mean 'what i want the most for these characters' or 'what i think would be the most narratively satisfying and interesting for these characters'
what i want for my dear personal friends trucy and apollo is pretty straightforward. i think ideally thalassa would just wrap up her tour and get her affairs in order, come back to los angeles, sit them both down (maybe after one of trucy's shows?) and just tell them the truth to their faces. i think they're both just owed a straightforward and honest explanation about what happened and why. and i think phoenix has to sit there and look extremely guilty and uncomfortable and feel too weird to say anything for awhile. aa4 phoenix despite being at rock bottom definitely still needs to be knocked down a few pegs. 💙💙 my king
what i want for fictional characters trucy wright and apollo justice from the ace attorney franchise is i think they have to figure it out themselves. for the entirety of ace attorney 4 they've both been far more subjected to others' whims than acting on their own, and i think letting them sniff out their own shared past would absolutely be the most meaningful way for it to play out. it'd give them a lot more agency in the larger narrative sweeps. i think what could happen is trucy would want apollo to help her look into the details of her mothers' death, because after getting closure on her father and the gramarye succession, the sort of next biggest thing after that weighing on her would be why magnifi really had such significant leverage on zak and valant over what was supposedly a straightforward but tragic stage accident. i think she'd have a nagging feeling that there was more there. and her daddy taught her to trust her gut, so, off they go!
apollo is really the only choice for who to help her. like hes probably the closest person to her other than phoenix and obviously this isnt something she wants to do with Her Dad or anyone else that she really knew as a kid. and i think apollo would really appreciate that trucy is coming to him with something personal and important rather than just more funny errands. and so they'd start digging into that, and from there it's just a matter of time until they've unraveled everything. they would then get the privilege and honor of Cornering Phoenix Wright (very few people get this pleasure) and making him answer for his Dad Crimes. i think trucy would insist on setting up in the WAA parked down in the armchair with the lights off waiting to dramatically turn on the lamp when he gets back only hes like several hours past due (got caught up in some stupid shit as usual) so apollo and trucy are like half asleep on the couch at 2 am watching youtube videos and phoenix walks in and he's like 'hi guys' and theyre like 'hi' before remembering 'no wait not hi. youre in trouble.'

Okay! Finished "Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice." Wrap-up thoughts, go!
Disclaimer before we get started: These are just my thoughts and feelings. Being my thoughts and feelings does not make them correct. Anyone feeling differently than I do has just as much right to feel that way, and I harbor no ill will towards anyone with other interpretations or thoughts. I also recognize that I haven't played the other two games in this trilogy, which could possibly answer some of my complaints. Also: My mom tells me all the time that no one actually cares about my viewpoint on how stories fall short, so I fully understand that…well, no one might actually care about my viewpoint on how this story fell short.
The last case did not change my ranking. Of the four games I've played now, it's definitely ranked at the lowest. Turnabout Trump was fantastic, but none of the other cases managed to do much to captured my interest. I will allow that Apollo Justice overall had a lot more care to tie everything together than Justice for All did, but it also did so in a way that kind of had me scratching my head.
I think the biggest question I have for everything being tied together is…why are Klavier and Kristoph brothers? What is the narrative purpose here? Having them not be related wouldn't change a single thing about either of them. Klavier is, unfortunately, so bland that he doesn't react in any particularly person way to the reveal with Kristoph. It's just kinda…there. It's pretty much the exact same reaction he had to Daryan being revealed to be a murderer. The only thing I can think of is that Kristoph and Klavier were meant to go toe-to-toe in the trial seven years before, and Klavier trusted Kristoph with the tipoff. But I think there are several other ways that that could have still be true without what I feel is an unnecessary familial tie. Maybe it's a reflection of everyone else having familiar ties? It still feels weird to me.
As does the other stuff. Why did Apollo and Trucy need to be half-siblings? Why did Lamiroir need to be Trucy's mom? Everything is tied together, but ultimately it seems like it was kind of randomly done to make the characters seem closer than for any story-related reason. The game doesn't even end with Trucy or Apollo finding out about their relationship to each other OR to the singer that just HAPPENED to be involved in one of their cases.
And in the end, I feel like it was missing what I loved about the original trilogy: the relationships. I'm not whining because Miles wasn't involved at all. That's whatever. I also loved Phoenix and Maya, and Maya and Pearl, and Phoenix and Pearl, and Miles and Gumshoe, and Mia and Diego, and Mia and Maya, and Franziska and...literally everyone, and the list goes on and on and on and. I sort of feel like Apollo Justice traded out the character-to-character chemistry for over-the-top cartoon antics that left me wanting. I struggled to really care about ANY of these characters that weren't Trucy.
At least the last case did give me more Trucy and Phoenix together. Baby Trucy is so cute! I could have done with more of them, honestly. I get that the game wasn't about Phoenix, so I understand why they didn't do it. But it's about the only relationship I cared about--and it was literally only Baby Trucy and Phoenix.
And so, sadly, I leave this game not particularly interested or even convinced of the two major ships I've seen from it: Klavier/Apollo and Kristoph/Phoenix. If I squint, I can see the first. I really don't get the latter at all.
I've been over Klavier. I don't have anything against him. He's just bland, and he doesn't bring anything to the story or to Apollo as a character. At least if he had an emotional reaction, that would be SOMETHING. He's even just kinda "meh" about his band breaking up. And then the final case has Apollo thinking about the darkness inside Klavier, and how he's going to help remove that darkness, and I just…what darkness? You can't just say there's darkness in the last case and have me buy it! You've already made him different from Miles; don't be trying to recapture the lightning in the bottle with him when it's too late. Either introduce the "darkness" earlier, or work with what you've got.
Kristoph was a boring final boss, too. I felt like he was handfed to me as the culprit, and the entire time I was playing through the investigation segment, I was just like, "But WHY did he murder a magician?! WHAT could he gain from this?!" Only to find out he didn't actually kill the magician and the whole thing was just…he was mad that Phoenix took over a case from him, which is kinda of the same boring "because I'm evil, that's why" motivation that makes Matt Engarde not very interesting to me. But at least Engarde was difficult to overcome! He was entertaining in his evilness, and it was satisfying to win against him! But you don't even get the satisfaction of defeating Kristoph. He's literally about to walk away when someone just HAPPENS to mention the jurist system, and then Kristoph shoots himself in the foot not by admitting to anything but by insulting on the non-lawyers he's explicitly told are involved. What?
Whatever happened to all his black psyche-locks anyway?
I felt like it was all downhill for culprits, really. Kristoph was great in the first one. The nurse was a little transparent in Turnabout Corner, but the twist with her and the doctor was pretty good. And then Darayan was A) incredibly obvious from the minute he turned up on screen and B) incredibly boring. His motive was to make money. Okay. Look, I realize that's very realistic and all, but it's not very interesting. And the Kristoph again in the last case was disappointing.
I guess the games have never been super subtle with their culprits. It's always one of, like, five people, max, that you run into. But at least it was fun trying to piece together their motivations. Unfortunately, I also felt like this game was a lot easier than the previous three. I never came close to getting a game over once. Being able to figure everything out instantly not only derived me of one of the pleasures of the game, but also meant that I didn't have anything BUT the weaker motivations to go off of.
I hadn't seen or read a lick of anything about this game before I started, in contrast to having watched people play the first game and half the second. And the only two things that surprised me here were that Lamiroir was Trucy's mom (no, I did not peg that they had the same hair) and that Valant didn't kill his mentor (which I was genuinely pleased to see…the twist that the man killed himself was admittedly pretty good).
And then every single time poker came up, we had to spend five minutes shouting about how we absolutely definitely never ever ever ever GAMBLED because gambling is ILLEGAL, children! I wonder if they did play for money in the Japanese version, but they had to make it clear there wasn't gambling involved in the English version for the same reason the game corner got removed in Pokemon. I guess I get it, but it's kind of distracting.
I'm looking forwarding to playing the next two games. I hope I like Athena! I'm already not excited about the 3D artwork. I have seen renderings of Miles and, like, ick. There's nothing wrong with 2D art, you know? But I'm a bit bummed to see that Phoenix comes back as the star. I want to see more of him back in the saddle, but ultimately I feel that Apollo never got a chance to shine. I finished his game knowing only one more thing about him than I did at the beginning: That he's got a mom and a half-sister.
In the end, I don't think this was a bad game. I just don't think it was what it could have been, and it fell short of its predecessors for me.
Next time: Orca case???? Maybe????? I thought that was a joke but I've seen enough fanart to make me suspect otherwise.

lifeswap AU: 6-2 reunion
because apparently i'm contractually obligated to think about this au every few months (even if i don't actually post anything of it, oops). original concept by @greentrickster
summary: talking to apollo in defendant lobby no. 3 has a... different outcome than nahyuta would've hoped for.
As Ema was apologizing to Trucy, the doors to the lobby opened and Nahyuta felt his heart stop.
"Oh!" Ema turned to address the new arrival.
"Prosecutor Justice?" He forced the words out of his mouth, old familiarity and Khura'inese threatening to spill through. "What are you doing here?"
The prosecutor barely spared him a glance and focused his attention on the detective. "Detective Skye."
"Y-Yes?"
"I require your forensic expertise in order to close this case." It felt wrong to hear his voice come out so quietly. That wasn't how it was supposed to be. "Come, let us go."
Ema gave the group a small wave and started to walk off with him.
"W-Wait!" Nahyuta called. "Prosecutor Justice!"
He didn't turn back. "The trial is over, Mr. Helios."
"So what? You—"
"There is no need for us to interact any further. We are strangers, and nothing more."
His heart froze.
Strangers.
Fifteen years was a long time. It was long enough to make his own memories of home fuzzy, but that didn't mean he forgot everything. He barely knew what was happening in the country at this point but that didn't mean he ignored things completely. But… did… "Did you really forget all about me?"
"What?!" Athena practically shouted in his ear. Widget chimed in with a relatively quieter ⟨YOU KNOW HIM?!⟩
His brother stopped walking away.
«I thought you were dead.» Nahyuta tried not to wince at his own Khura'inese. He knew it was rough, but hearing his brother speak it to cleanly in court made the difference all too clear. «Instead you turn up as a prosecutor and treat me like a heretic, like nothing Dad or Datz said ever meant anything. What happened to being a dragon? What happened to fighting to put an end to all this?» He closed the gap between them, hand fidgeting at his side. He wanted to reach out. They could pretend like nothing was different and reconnect and put everything that happened in the last 24 hours behind them. He could find out what changed and how he could help. It didn't have to be like this.
"What happened to you, Apollo?"
Apollo tore his hand away with a glare. "I have no time for a heretic bearing a dead man's name." With that, the prosecutor was gone.
The door slammed shut and his heart shattered.
"…Nahyuta?" Athena was uncharacteristically quiet.
Everything felt hazy. "Huh?"
"What the heck was that all about?" Her voice regained some of its usual energy. "How do you know Prosecutor Justice, and what in the WORLD did you tell him to get him to answer with… with THAT?"
"…I don't want to talk about it." He'd survived fifteen years without being able to contact his family and living with the knowledge that nearly everyone at home thought he was dead. He could survive another fifteen knowing his brother never wanted to speak to him again.
"Yuta…" Trucy looked worried.
"It's fine," he lied. "I'll manage."
Trucy pointed at him. "You're grabbing your right arm. You're not fine."
"Ignoring the problem is only going to make it worse," Athena chimed in. "You were skittish about him yesterday, too. Don't think I forgot about that."
Sometimes he hated being surrounded by lie detectors. It wasn't like chasing after Justice would help things, either. He was stuck in the same place he started all those years ago: that horrible, horrible limbo of wondering if the pieces would be put together and if he would die that night.
Athena sighed. "I know I was bad about not telling you guys about Simon, but this seems more… serious, than that."
"It's really not." It kinda was.
"Then what was all of that about a dead man's name?"
"I don't—"
Of course that had to be the moment when the phone rang.

dick (nightwing) with aventurine's memories
(i dont know if this makes sense at all im tired)
ive been thinking of one of the batbros with memories of aventurine because. okay so yknow birdwatchers the discord server. i took a word cause its my birthday word (which is starting to be soon) but the original idea i had for it isnt getting the brainworks going so i wanted to mix it with my recent fixation which is aventurine (well actually hes starting to get a little old since ive been sitting on this idea for awhile but hHH)
but THEN i felt like i actually had a decent idea so now im sharing it to you because. i dunno. i dont really feel like i can do it justice? write it well??? (itd be my first hsr work LMFAO)
so uh. spoilers for dick's backstory, as well as 2.1 penacony. ALSO Danganronpa 2 because comparisons (also that anime with dr2 cast i dont remember the name)
aventurine as dick (slowly getting memories over time) (like child. kakavasha. teen/adult, aventurine.)
his luck has him notice the tampering of the wire whatever it was called that led to his parents death. he tries to tell them, they dont believe him. hes lucky enough to be the survivor. (think… you know that one oracle i think apollo blessed/cursed?? cant remember if it was first blessed but then something happened and then cursed or if it was at the same time. she could tell the future except no one would ever believe her.)
he has memories of space travel. of people outside in space. hes shocked to find theres no interaction of the IPC here, theres been no sign of life outside of this planet 'Earth' (..and was it really such a strange thought to imagine that 'aliens' could look just the same as them..? he wrinkled his nose at the ugly green thing with wide eyes. it was unnerving.)
he finds signs of a 'space enjoyers!' or whatever club and he goes and they're just like 'what are you talking about? its all just. fiction.. even we know that.'
i cant remember what year it takes place in and if the moon landing has happened yet (or what year hsr is in but i imagine far far in the future)
I dont really know how aventurine's luck works. and. i. honestly have not been paying too much attention throughout the story. my one exception was penacony, aventurine was the SOLE reason i paid attention in penacony ive only played up to 2.1 (thats not because he faked his death, its more that my recent-est fixation now is fanfiction because penacony has so much stuff going on it hurt my brain that i took a break) cause hes lucky but he gets. branded.. maybe its like nagito's but his is confusing too? (nagito is the ultimate lucky student in danganronpa 2, which is basically a talent that person has)
remember in the anime i think he got hit by a truck or something. or maybe that was after. he got hurt, went to like the vending machine, it dropped all of its drinks for him (so good luck), and then maybe it was after he got hit by a truck. uh
no it was a car (sorry im too used to truck-kun LMFAO) actually wait it was a truck somehow i only saw the head and thought 'huh thats a normal car' my dumbass
youtube
... truck.
youtube
ALSO i cant remember if he was trying to intentionally do something. but. i. remember he was trying to get like a medicine(???) something something. i dont remember why. but it was either he grabbed the wrong one or he grabbed the right one, EXCEPT he bumped into someone so their bags switched. so that meant
i REMEMBER NOW. OKAY OKAY. i think he grabbed the one that was meant to i think cause you. to. maybe. poop more? IDFK i forgot it was something that made someone ill probably. (cant remember his intention and if his luck turned him to the wrong one)
but so he bumped into someone and they switched bags accidentally. so she added what he got into the food mixture (which was meant to make them big and poofy) which made the judges not happy
meanwhile i think there was an enlarged animal...
youtube
dont ask me what happens after i have no clue if that was accurate since this is very edited but i couldn't find a better video but so he was trying to make his classmates ill i guess. but he got the wrong thing
to be fair the girl he bumped into and caused to fail was also kind of a bitch i think so i mean... (YEAH she is i went through the wiki)
so i kind of went off topic (i havent talked about danganronpa in so long)
maybe its like a set meter. like. experience a certain amount of bad luck and then get tremendously good luck (but you dont get to choose when probably)
which wouldnt be the same if aventurine had never lost? unless its like his big loss and trauma and er slavery (i feel like i should be using lighter words but i dont know lighter words for this kind of thing)
and for every win of a bet its using up very small amounts of luck (and thus his winning streak). (although probably not. i havent been able to see why hes fortunate in some places and unfortunate in others but that might be because i also haven't been thinking about it too hard)
in which case. i wonder. what was his intention in his 'death'? to permanently die, or to fake his death? cause it could drastically change the meaning.
cause yknow how nagito kermit sewer slide-d because he wanted the 'traitor' i think to win? (by basically making one of the other students be the one to have killed him so they wouldnt be able to win guessing who did it unless by pure chance) except his luck backfired on him and the one who ended up having killed him was the traitor, which WAS able to be figured out and thats how they survived
so was it something like that? where he wanted to die but his luck decided at that moment to just not? i wonder.
i havent even MADE it to penacony in game though (ive watched other ppl play) im like to the quest to where youre about to go to it but im too anxious to start. on the other hand i did the quest with topaz in jarilo(? Im SO BAD with names)
but i dont really know what the ipc does and if theyre well known. but im basing it off what topaz said (with a lot of skepticism cause aventurine)
so anyway thats my half-baked idea.

Fic Idea
Post-aa4, pre-aa5, everything is the same but vampires coexist peacefully with humans and have for a long time. They don't burn in sunlight and can feed off humans without losing control and killing them (usually). There's a whole culture and etiquette around feeding off someone (not in public unless otherwise stated to be okay, usually seen as something only done between closely bonded people, strive to take the bare minimum unless otherwise stated by donor, etc). FEEDING CAN BE PLATONIC AND/OR FAMILIAL.
Apollo and Trucy are natural vampires (not turned), Phoenix is human.
On average, vampires can go about three weeks without a blood meal before they start showing signs of malnutrition.
Apollo has gone four.
Clay has intense training for another week, and he hasn't fed since he left.
In Apollo's defense, it's not like he has a lot of options. The blood banks are always running short on supplies as it is, and paid donors are out of his budget.
Had Clay known this, he would've skipped out on training or figured out some way to bring him along, sacrificing time he should be using to work towards his dream.
So Apollo didn't tell him.
And now he feels like shit. It's early fall in LA, but by the time he trudges into the Agency, he's trembling like he just hiked through a blizzard. He can feel how pale he is, and he's capital-E Exhausted.
And he would kill for really like a pint right about now.
"G'morning Pol- Holy Mother, how long have you gone without feeding!? I've seen ashtrays more lively you! Why haven't you been eating!?"
Ah. He knew for got something this morning. His makeup.
"Good morning to you too, Truce." He greeted the younger vampire, who looked well-fed but significantly less cheerful now that she's caught him being reckless.
"Apollo, answer her question."
Her father didn't sound too happy about Apollo's involuntary corpse cosplay, either.
"I'm fine, Mr. Wright. It's only been a few... weeks..."
It was Mr. Wright's turn to turn pale. "Christ, kiddo, why didn't you say something? I figured you had someone that would let you feed for free, not that you had just gotten terrifilyingly good with a blending brush."
"What were you going to do, bluff my body into thinking it has blood in it?"
"Polly!" Trucy chided. Wright chuckled.
"I was thinking of just, y'know, feeding you. That method takes a lot less convincing and is probably better for you."
No. No, absolutely not, he would not could not drink from his boss. It was bad enough he had to rely on Clay's charity, he refused to be pity-fed by Phoenix Fucking Wright.
"Nope, I'm good. I've got paperwork to get to. Thanks though."
He could feel eyes boring into his back as he turned to his desk. As he tried to focus, he could just make out whispering, but not what was being said.
Just as he was getting into a rhythm with filling out forms, he was startled by Trucy's normal speaking voice in the comparatively quiet room.
"Daddy, I'm feeling a bit pale, can I top up real quick?"
Odd, she'd seemed full-fed when I came in, Apollo thought, but put it down as the teenager's fast metabolism.
"Of course, sweetheart, you know the drill." Apollo turned to see Trucy leading her father to the couch. The older man sat and straightened he arm, allowing for optimal access to his bloodstream from his wrist. After settling herself on a cushion on the floor, she nipped.
Her fang caught strangely on Mr. Wright's skin, causing the small cut to bleed into the open.
Don't think about the scent, Justice, Apollo scolded himself, just do what you're paid to do.
As the seconds ticked on, the scent of a fresh food source was making him antsy. Why was Trucy feeding in front of him anyway? Sure, they are close, but he isn't family. It would be nice if they were.
Perhaps she was getting greedy and making her father lightheaded, because he knocked a second cushion onto the floor and positioned his other arm in parallel to the one Trucy was drinking from.
Was that meant for him Surely, he was just getting comfortable and must've displaced the pillow by accident.
"Well, are you just going to stare, Apollo?"
"N-no, I'm sorry! I'll get back to work..."
"Come here."
Despite his conscious mind freezing, his instincts forced him to take a tentative step forward.
"It's okay. You can come closer."
Another step, a bit bolder than the first.
"That's it, kid, come eat. You must be starving."
Was this real, or was he finally going mad from deprivation?
Finally falling fully under his hunger's trance, he knelt on the cushion and Phoenix offered his wrist.
As Apollo finally succumbed to temptation and began to feed, his mind became warm and fuzzy. He could feel his slow, stuttering heartbeat pick up to a more natural pace and body heat starting to radiate from his core once more. His skin felt supple with no ashy dryness remaining.
He felt alive.
Coming back to himself just a bit, he attempted to pull away from his food source, only to be gently held in pace by a hand on his head.
"It's alright, you can take a bit more," a familiar voice coaxed. Apollo wasn't quite present enough to recognize who exactly was speaking to him.
He decided not to argue, and took what must've been another half-pint. His stomach felt just shy of over-full for the first time in what felt like ages.
"There we go. Feel better, kiddo?"
Apollo looked sleepily at Mr. Wright, nodded, and promptly wobbled over onto his side. He was content to sleep the food coma off, work be damned.
He huffed in weak protest when Phoenix gently lifted him onto the couch.
"Yeah yeah, I know. I just don't want you to screw up your back sleeping on the floor."
Apollo was already half-asleep when he felt a weighted blanket fall over him. He snuggled into it.
As he consciousness faded into the safety and warmth surrounding him, he could hear a warm chuckle, followed by a "don't ever scare me like that again, Polly."
Perhaps it was okay to rely on others, once in a while.
