Might be time to restart my skincare routine. My skin ain't that bad but it's started bugging me again and I'd really rather not be picking at it until its all bloody and scarred. That's not sanitary for anybody.

Man why does target have to be on the other side of town
Theyre the only place that has my favorite granola
And its cheaper than granola at walmart and dillons
And I never have any reason to go to target
Except for granola
Which seems unnecessary since the other granolas are still good
But the good and gather dark chocolate granola is my favorite
But its so far away

A series of events
Buy value granola bars as study snacks
Start running low on granola bars
Made homemade granola because I was running low on granola bars and wanted to see if I can do that without going to the store
Fail to make homemade granola bars (I think I need a stronger binding agent)
Holy shit that's a lot of regular granola
What am I going to do with all this granola
I could freeze it but I will absolutely forget it exists for half a decade
Yogurt it is!
Buy some yogurt
Holy shit yogurt is expensive
Why is everything so expensive
I wonder if I can do this myself
So anyways long story short I am currently waiting on some homemade yogurt to finish yogurting

My Queen (Pt. 7) • Last part •
Yandere!Hyunjin x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Yandere, delusions, Stockholm Syndrome, smut, fingering, groping
(Pt. 6) (Last Part)
—————————— 👑———————————
The days come and go. As you plan your wedding, you feel like you’re in a dream. Hyunjin has become even more attentive and protective but you don’t mind. He gives you all the love and attention you could ever want. He wanted you to be happy everyday all day.
Your love for him has become stronger. No matter what anyone says, you know that Hyunjin is the prince that returned you to the castle at took you away from the dangerous world. The world is cruel. Full of awful people that want to hurt you and dangerous structures. It is much more safe to stay in the castle.
Speaking of, you love your castle. You’ve made it your own and decorated as you please. The bedroom is elegant and cozy, kitchen is rich with color and ingredients for the best food, and living room decorated beautifully. Every room was filled with your favorite colors and personal touch. Your castle is gorgeous.
You and Hyunjin have worked so hard on the garden. Growing strawberries, tomatoes and zucchini. Many other foods as well. The flowers? Well you grew some news but kept the older ones as well. The ones you couldn’t see? It’s silly to think they were never there. They were just to beautiful for the human eye to comprehend, but they are there, no doubt.
With the amount of growth and fluoresment present, you didn’t even realize how long you’ve been here. Perhaps a year…? Who knows. And it doesn’t even matter to you.
~~~~~~ 👑
It’s a beautiful spring day and you found yourself in the garden, picking the fresh strawberries from their vines. You can’t wait to eat them with your fiancé. Fresh strawberries, Greek yogurt, and granola. A perfect lunch.
You walk in with the basket of berries, taking them to the kitchen before washing your hands in the sink. You had gotten some dirt on your hands but you didn’t mind.
Hyunjin watched as you washed the strawberries and pulled out some bowls.
“What are you making, my love?” He speaks up suddenly.
“Parfaits.” You replied.
“My Queen, you do not need to work so hard.”
“It’s okay.” You say with a smile while cutting the stems from the strawberries. “I want to make it.”
Hyunjin shrugged, letting you continue. It wasn’t long before you finished and set the bowls on the table.
“My love, it looks amazing.”
“Thanks Jinnie.” You smile when watching him eat. He then feeds you. The fresh strawberries were sweet and delicious.
At some point, Hyunjin gave you a sudden kiss. The taste of strawberries lingered on your and his lips.
“What was that for?”
“Nothing.” Hyunjin chuckled. “I just love you.” He was always so sweet. Hyunjin looked at you with love in his eyes as he gently rubbed your cheek.
“I love you too Jinnie.” You replied with a smile. When finishing your food, Hyunjin gets up and cleans up the dishes. Meanwhile you look at your phone, reading the incoming messages. It was Jihyo. Hyunjin knows how important your friend is to you so he finally let you keep and use your phone. After all, There’s no reason not to trust you.
After responding, you slip your phone back in your pocket and move to the living room. Something was playing on the TV but it was more like background noise as you barely paid attention to it. Hyunjin sat next to you, giving a kiss to your cheek.
“My Queen? Do you know what today is?”
“Hm?”
“It’s our one year anniversary!” Hyunjin said excitedly.
“Oh wow.” You replied, now thinking about it. Had it really been a year??
“My love, it’s been a year since I brought you home.” He chuckled. “How could you forget?”
“I’m losing track of time I guess.”
“My sweet Queen… let me ravish you with love.” He said while turning your head to kiss your lips.
You gently kiss back as he puts his hand on your hip. This kisses were passionate and lips so addicting. You gasped softly as he kissed your neck and pushing you on your back.
Hyunjin looked over you while touching you under your shirt, massaging your braless breasts and continuing to kiss down your neck, nipping every once in a while. You let out breathy moans as he use one hand to palm over your pants.
This had you hot and needy. You desperately pulled your shirt off and tugged down your pants.
Hyunjin loved this and continued by sucking at your breasts and teasing your clit, slipping his fingers under your panties. This had you moaning and whimpering.
“My love, let me please you…” he whispered against your neck before slipping his two fingers in your cunt.
“F-fuck— Jinnie—!”
“Shh… relax my darling.”
Hyunjin slowly went in and out with his fingers, curving them ever so slightly to hit that sensitive bundle of nerves.
Breathy moans escaped your lips and your back slightly arched. It was hard not to sound like you’re crying as tears rolled down your cheeks. You tightly gripped his hair as you were already so close to reaching your high.
“Cmon, my love… cum on my fingers…”
“F-fuck—….” With a loud moan and eyes rolled back, you let go.
After pulling out his fingers, he stuck them in his mouth to taste your essence.
“My Queen…” he breathed. “My Queen is so sweet…”
You stared at him, feeling a bit dazed. His addictive plump limps and hypnotic eyes made you want more. You whimpered a little, needing his attention again. It was only a short bit before he started kissing you again.
“What’s wrong, my love?”
“I just want you…” you replied while holding on to him.
“Yeah? My sweet queen, you’ll always have me.” He smiled while rubbing your cheek. “My love, do you understand how beautiful you are?”
You only shook your head.
Hyunjin chuckled and rubbed your sides. “You are the most beautiful person ever… most kind and loving… no one deserves your graciousness.”
All you could do was blush at his compliments. He did this often but it always had you falling for him all over again.
“My sweet queen, I’ll protect you forever… I’ll keep the hideous world away…” Hyunjin continued giving soft kisses along your neck. “I love you… and I’ll never leave you… but will you ever leave me?”
“I would never.” You managed to get out between kisses.
"My Queen, I got you something," Hyunjin announced as he got up. "For the wedding."
Putting your shirt and pants back on, you followed him to the bedroom. "For your veil, you deserve a crown," he said, presenting a sparkly tiara, undoubtedly an exquisite and expensive piece. "I believe it will go perfectly with whatever dress you pick."
"Wow!" you said excitedly. "It's so pretty!"
Hyunjin smiled, placing the tiara on your head. "My Love, we will be going dress shopping today."
"Really?!"
"Yes. Now go get ready. Keep the crown on."
With a kiss on the lips, you eagerly headed to the closet to get dressed for the outing.
~~~~~~~~ 👑
Hyunjin took you to the finest stores in town to find the perfect wedding dress. His anxiety and paranoia were setting in as he stayed by your side and hyper vigilant. While in a bridal shop, Hyunjin waited patiently in the dressing room until the manager approached him.
"Sir, is that your fiancée?" she asked curiously.
"Yes.”
"Not to be rude, but isn't the bride supposed to go dress shopping with her mother and bridesmaids?"
Hyunjin shot her an annoyed expression. "Well, I'm shopping with her."
"Yes, but—?"
"She only needs me!" he blurted out, causing the woman to back off, concerned about his outburst.
She couldn’t help thinking about it, she feels like she’s seen you before… maybe online or tv…? It had her feeling extra suspicious of Hyunjin.
"Jinnie! I think I found the one!" you cheered as you emerged from the dressing room.
"My Queen, you look stunning!" he complimented, genuinely pleased. "I really like it."
"Then we should get it!"
As you changed, Hyunjin couldn't help but notice the manager staring at him. His paranoia growing, and despite your conversation from the dressing room, his mind wandered. "Something is wrong," he whispered to himself.
He was lost in a battle, tuning out everything around him. The struggle was evident, muttering phrases like "don't take her" until he snapped back to reality, facing a concerned policeman.
"Are you alright?" the officer asked with a raised brow.
"Why wouldn't I be alright? I'm just shopping with my fiancée!" Hyunjin laughed nervously, dismissing any suspicion.
The officer, however, mentioned a report of shady business and a potential missing person.
“Shady?? What do you mean?”
“I mean… you seem to be keeping a really close eye on your ‘fiancée’ and she looks like someone from a missing persons report.”
“Missing?! She’s not missing!”
“Well, not to you, obviously.
“She’s not missing.” He repeated.
“I’ll speak to her—”
“No!” Hyunjin snapped.
“What’s going on?” You said while poking your head out.
“Nothing, my love. Ignore it.”
“No, ma’am.” The cop said while walking up to you. “I just had a question.”
“Oh, okay?” You nodded awkwardly.
“I believe you’re on a missing persons report.”
“She’s not missing!” Hyunjin yelled.”
“Are you here willingly?” The cop said with a sigh.
“What? Of course I’m here willingly! I love Hyunjin!” You say quickly. “We’re gonna get married!”
“Okay. But were you kidnapped or—?”
“Kidnapped?!” You interrupted. “You have this all wrong. Hyunjin saved me. He brought me back to the castle.
“Are you sure?”
“He’s the love of my life! No one loves me like he does.” You say with a smile while looking at Hyunjin who was standing there nervously.
As he questioned you, Hyunjin grew defensive, insisting you weren't missing. The officer wanted to speak with you alone, but you refused,
“Alright, I just want to make sure.” The officer nodded. He was still a bit suspicious
“Ma’am are you sure you wouldnt you like to step to the side for a recorded statement? Maybe to the police station?”
“And leave Hyunjin?” You said with a frown while going to and hugging hyunjin’s arm. “No it’s not safe!”
“It’s the police station, you’ll be—”
“She doesn’t want to go with you.” Hyunjin interrupted.
“I’m sorry, officer but I don’t wanna go. I have to stay with Jinnie and finish getting ready for our wedding.”
The cop frowned, He was 100% you were the missing person but knows that there’s nothing he could do as you were an adult. He apologized and left you guys alone, writing down some notes.
The officer was still suspicious as he left and Hyunjin held you tight. “I told you it was dangerous out here! We must go home!”
You agreed, ready to pay and leave as soon as possible.
On the drive home, you discussed wedding plans, and Hyunjin marveled at your excitement, relieved to be away from the dangers outside the castle.
After returning home, Hyunjin helped you relax before a late dinner. As you sat down, you couldn't shake off the curiosity about the policeman's intentions.
"Jinnie?" you asked.
"Yes, my love?" Hyunjin replied.
"Why did that policeman want me to go with him?"
"Probably to steal you away," he sighed, "and lock you up."
"Why would he do that?"
"There are crazy and dangerous people out there. That's why you must stay here with me."
"Okay," you smiled. "Thank you for protecting me."
~~~~~ 👑
A month passed, and the day of the wedding arrived. The outdoor venue was adorned with your favorite colors and decorations. A priest stood at the altar, ready to officiate the ceremony.
Your friend Jihyo assisted you in getting ready, doing your makeup and hair. As you admired yourself in the mirror, Jihyo struck up a conversation.
"Y/n, are you sure about this..."
"Yes," you smiled, looking back at her.
Jihyo sighed. "Well, are you happy? Genuinely?"
"Mmhm, I am," you replied.
"Okay," Jihyo sighed, knowing there was nothing more she could do. As your friend, she wished for your happiness, and she'd be there if you.
"Y/n, I'm happy for you. If you ever need anything, I'm always here for you. Come see me if you need anything."
You gave your friend a hug, and with that, Jihyo ushered you towards the aisle, where Hyunjin awaited. Tears formed in your eyes as you nodded, ready to marry the love of your life.
As the ceremony unfolded, the music played, your heart was racing. Walking down the aisle, you felt overwhelming joy. Marrying Hyunjin meant spending the rest of your life with the one you love, and that prospect filled you with great happiness. This marked the beginning of the happiest day of your life.
You leave a message for your landlord after several failed calls. You come out defeated and hesitant. Your apartment is your comfort, it's your safe space, but it's been breached and you're displaced here. As kind as Jonathan is, that can't last forever. He is your boss after all and you need your job.
The scent of cinnamon draws you to the kitchen, along with the subtle movement clinks and tinking inside. You lean on the doorframe as you watch Jonathan's back, the thin string of an apron tied around his waist and a thicker band along his neck. He hums as he pushes down the plunger of a glass coffee press.
"Uh, hi," you eke out and his long fingers nearly take off the lid of the press. He chuckles and steadies it, shifting to look at you, "er, morning."
"Morning, barely," he muses as he glances at the digital number glowing on the stove, "I've got some scones in and I think we could pair it well with some porridge, if you're fond of it. Or perhaps, yogurt and some fresh fruit. A touch of granola…"
"Yeah, uh, you didn't have to do all this," you rub the back of your neck, "I left my landlord a message. I should head out and figure out a locksmith–"
"Ah, yes, I forgot," he extends a finger, "I've taken care of all that. My own lessor had some recommendations and I was able to arrange the repair. The keys should be delivered shortly–"
"Oh," you blink and chew your lip. He's so helpful. Too helpful. Or maybe you're ungrateful. "Again, thanks, I… I owe you. For a lot it seems."
"I hope it wasn't too much," he says as he checks his watch and grabs the oven mitt, "I only thought to ease the burden–"
"Yeah, yeah, I get it. You have everything figured out and I'm just helpless," you throw your hands up and cover your face, immediately scalded by your own temper. Why did you say that? "I'm sorry. I'm just so stressed, I can't think. I just want everything to be normal and…" you suck in air, pressing the heels of your hands to your forehead as you rant, "and I'm not this kind of person. I'm the sort to…" you inhale again, dizzy as it stings in your chest, "I just… I just…"
You bend over, clutching your head as you feel like folding. You're startled as Jonathan's hand clasp around your arm and he pulls you up, gently guiding you to sit on the short foot stool beside the counter. He gets to his knees and grips your shoulders, holding you straight as your head lolls. You don't know what's going on, it's like you've lost control of your body.
"Fawn, breathe. Yes? Let's count, one - in," he exhales, "two - out," his thumbs caress you through your shirt, "in… out. Three, four…"
You focus and close your eyes. Are you really having a meltdown in your boss's home? You count in your head, then outloud, measuring you breaths until your heart peters out.
"There we go," he slowly releases you, putting his hands on his knees as he stands with a low grunt, "if the caffeine is too much, I can squeeze some orange juice–"
"I'm fine," you reach up and pull yourself to the feet with the edge of the counter, "really, you've done enough."
"I've done what any decent person would," he shrugs as he opens a cupboard, "you are obviously dealing with a full plate, but I can't help but feel I don't know the half of it."
"What do you mean?"
"Car break's down and you get a visit from a home intruder. A string of bad luck, certainly, and it would have anyone addled, but… there seems a bit more than that. Something that's been bothering you a while," he pours two mugs of coffee, "it isn't my place to delve into your personal life, but I will say, I would help if I could. If you asked."
You shudder. You don't know what to say. The plucking in your chest wants you to tell him everything but that tick in your head says it's none of his concern. You've crossed enough lines.
He doesn't need to pick up after your stupid feelings. You made the dumb decision to crush on your neighbour, to welcome him in, to fawn over him like an unloved wife. Now you just have to deal with.
Hopefully, the new lock is just the beginning of shutting Colin out of your life.
"Really, it's just the car and the door. I'm sure you've got enough going on with the audit, huh," your voice shakes, betraying you.
"Ah, yes, standard," he places a cup before you, just on the corner of the counter, "I've done it before. Nothing out of the usual," he hooks his finger through the handle of his own mug, "well, one special thing; I don't mind the people."
He smiles as he lifts his coffee and you feel the world brighten just a lt.
No. No. Not that feeling. Not that flutter. Didn't Colin teach you better? Oh boy. You're not thinking straight, you're tired, you haven't had your coffee, you're crazy!
You pick up your cup and blow out a chestful of air. Get your head on straight. One man at a time. No, one thing at a time.
💗
“You know, I don’t mind if you’d rather stay another night,” Jonathan keeps one hand on the steering wheel, his other arm slack against the armrest, “I can understand if you don’t feel safe–”
“No, I’m good. I just want to get back on track. Everything feels so… disorderly.”
“I know what you mean. Even if I tend to live a nomadic life. Some people thrive on being settled, others not so much,” he muses, “have you heard about your car? Do I need to keep Pine’s luxury taxi in service?”
“Taxi? Oh, I’m so sorry. No. I uh, I can take the bus. And I can spot you some gas money–”
“I’m joking, darling,” he assures with a ripple of his fingers, “I don’t mind. It’s nice to have someone else for the morning ride. I find waking up alone a bit sombre… in a strange city. I’m a far way from home.”
“Uh, yeah, I can’t imagine…”
“I recall you mentioned you’ve never visited England. Pity. You should think about it one day. If you need a personal tour guide…”
“Mmm, yeah, maybe someday. Probably not anytime soon,” you mull and turn your gaze out the window.
“Of course,” he agrees, “I shouldn’t complain so much, traveling for work can really be a privilege. I know at least, it has afforded me the luxury of meeting many good people.”
“Yeah,” you say absently as your vision blurs and your mind drifts.
“...sisters? You said you have some a few towns over?”
You shake yourself from your trance. Your head clears as you straighten in your seat.
“Yeah, my one sister is pregnant, another’s getting married, the other two… well, they’re younger, they’re still growing up,” you say, “don’t really see them much.”
“Lots going on. So there’s going to be a wedding?” He prompts, stopping at a light.
“Hm?”
“Your sister?”
“Er, yes, yeah, actually, I still haven’t got the invitation,” you chuckle nervously, “I’m sure it’s in the mail.”
“And are you a bridesmaid?”
“I… she didn’t say anything,” you utter. You hadn’t even thought of that.
“Well, I’m sure she has a lot to plan, in due time,” he cranks the wheel and pulls a U-turn to come parallel to the curb in front of your building, “you are delivered. Nice and safe.”
“Thanks again,” you grab your bag from your feet and hit the button on your seatbelt. “I really… I owe you.”
“You don’t,” he assures, “all I ask is that you text me. Let me know you’re safe and behind locked doors.”
“Huh, yeah, I can do that,” you almost sigh in relief.
It’s weird. You dread being alone but you long for it. Your solace has always been by yourself. You just have to keep Colin out and you’re hoping that Ally will already have him distracted. You think back to the day before and how eager she was to get him to herself. Yeah, he doesn’t care that much about you. That’s what started this all.
“Well, I’ll see you at work.”
“See you at work,” he returns, his tone as lacklustre as you ever heard it.
You get out, a tug of guilt at the nape of your neck. You feel like you should say something else but you don’t know what. You let the door close softly as you step onto the pavement. You head up the walk, not looking back, too embarrassed to.
You let yourself into the building and pull out the new key from the locksmith. It’s shiny and silver with a yellow thread strung through the eyehole. You ease the front door closed behind you and listen to the building. It’s quiet, mostly.
You climb the stairs one by one and peek down the hall before you come up completely onto the second floor. There’s no one there and your door is as it should be. Locked tight and on the hinges.
You make your way down towards it, carefully to keep your keys from jingling. Your bag falls down your elbow as you wiggle the lock, the new key not catching right away. A click and slow grind jars you and as you look over, you nearly scream.
Colin appears from behind Ally’s door. Shirtless, in his usual grey sweats, looking casually sinister as he places a hand on the door frame. He snickers as he steps out. You turn back and fumble to twist the handle.
As the door opens, he’s on you. He closes you in as he catches the handle and pulls the door shut. You whimper and turn to face him, cowering as he sneers at you. You press yourself to the wood as he crowds you.
“Think you can run away with that pretty boy?” He taunts, “think I wouldn’t be waiting?”
“Colin, I– I’m sorry–” you gulp and look over, “Ally…”
“She’s off on another work trip. Kinda like you, huh? Hanging out with her boss off the clock. You must’ve had a lot of fun.”
“Look, whatever I did, it’s… there’s been a misunderstanding, alright? We’re friends. We were… I’m sorry I misinterpreted–”
“Honey, you are so stupid. I’m not done with you.”
“Please–” you beg.
“Get this. You were the perfect girl. You cooked, you did my laundry, you let me use your Netflix, that’s what every guy wants but you’re just not fuckable,” he scoffs, “well, my perspective changed on that. You know,” he leans in further and lowers his voice. “I didn’t picture myself balls deep until I saw you shaking in fear.”
“Get away,” you croak and push against his chest, “I’ll scream.”
A subtle click mutes his response as he opens his mouth but clenches his teeth. He tilts his head and listens. You hear the deep grumble of your downstairs neighbour, Curtis? You can’t remember, you never see him. He waits and pokes his tongue into his cheek.
“You fucking scream and I’ll remember. I’ll make sure when I fuck you that it splits you in half. So be a nice girl, like you always are, and let me in.”
“Please,” you reach to grip the key, trying to free it from the lock. You could jab him with it, get him off of you for long enough to get inside.
“If you wanna pretend I’m that preppy fuck, I don’t m–”
He jerks and nearly headbutts you as he bounces off the doorframe beside you. He cradles his face as he grunts and you gape at Jonathan as he squares his shoulders and steps up. How?
“You will back away,” Jonathan warns, “go back to your pathetic apartment and stay there.”
“Ah, not this douche–” Colin slips his hand down his cheek, revealing the split in the bridge of his nose.
“Yes, this douche,” Jonathan confirms, “I smelled it on you. I knew you were nothing but a weasel.”
“Whatever. She’s been begging me for it,” Colin spits, “you know, she sits there and pouts, watches me from across the hall, listens to me through the wall as I fuck girls hotter than she’ll ever be, wishing it was her–”
Jonathan moves so quickly, it leaves you stunned. The crack of his fist against Colin’s face makes you yipe and you quiver as you catch your voice in your hands. You keep flush to the door as your eyes wet.
“I do not like violence,” Jonathan says as he rubs his knuckles, “but I am not unfamiliar with it.”
“Fucker!” Colin bends over, drops of his blood landing on the floor.
“If you persist, I’m afraid I must as well.”
“Urgh,” Colin stands straight and spits onto the hardwood, “just wait…” he looks past Jonathan, “he can’t be here all the time.”
He turns and stomps away, keeping his hand on his jaw as he snorts and coughs. You stare after him, shaking in humiliation. It all happened so fast.
Jonathan waits until Colin’s door slams before he turns to you. He puts his hand on your shoulder and you flinch, “why didn’t you tell me it was him?”
You shake your head and stick your lip out.
“I should’ve guessed,” he tuts, “twisted man. Absolutely repuls–”
“How did you get in here?”
“A man let me in. Downstairs. Um, beard, very blue eyes,” he explains.
“Why?”
He gives half a smile, “ah, you left this in the front seat,” he holds up your lip balm, “I was trying to return it.”
“Oh,” you glance past him, frowning at Colin’s door.
“Darling, I know you are growing tired of me but I simply cannot leave you alone.”
“Yeah,” you nod numbly and turn to the door, jerking the key to the side, “I don’t wanna be alone.”
Sweet Like Açai
Pairing: TAA x Black Reader
Summary: He’s still raw from a rough break-up, his club is trudging through a mid-season slump, and somehow Trent still develops a fat crush on the server at Merseyside’s newest smoothie place.
Notes: this will be my last story for a while, but it is a longer one, and who doesn't love wingman curtis and flustered shy trentski 😃 here is chapter 1, but all other chaps will be posted on ao3. pls enjoy and do tell me what you think!
—————————————————————————
The new café that Curtis suggests is only a 15-minute drive from AXA, so after their last meetings and quick showers they take off in his Range Rover and make it there in ten. The owner, he says, is a friend of the Jones family, a former footballer who took the constant chiding of his nutritionists to heart and built a second career from it, and Curtis promises Trent that it’s the best combination of chilled fruit, yogurt, granola and whatever other superfood magic that he’s ever tasted.
But it’s not that Trent needs the backstory that his teammate gives or really much convincing at all - after training his stomach feels as big and empty as a house, and, even still, he figures he deserves it. The past months have been less than kind to him, and closer to brutal: the team’s performance has continued to nosedive in what by Liverpool standards was already an aggressively average season, and he’s still deciding if he’s moved on from the mutual but still painful breakup with his long-term girlfriend two months ago. “Self-care” is a foreign thing he’s been trying to practice at the insistence of his mum and Hendo, since they claim it’s okay to let himself have nice things, to not always push harder when the going is already tough.
A quick, sugary pick-me-up can’t possibly do too much more damage.
A little bell chimes as they step in the door and the air that greets them is pleasantly cool, and sweet. Dark purples and greens blend with browns and oranges on the walls in a swirling pattern, and rustic wood tables with high stools are arranged in rows from one side of the space to the other. There’s a couple sat together at a spot near the window, twin purple cups in front of them, and a single, serious-looking man on a laptop near the back, but the line to order and the self-serve kiosks are both empty. Curtis walks up to the counter, as in any room, like he lives there, and has been there a million times.
“The açai one’s gonna blow your mind, lad, I swear to ya. Plus, the place is Black-owned and that, supportin the community.”
Trent laughs once before settling his hands in the pockets of his sweats and looking up to the menu. There are too many options, really, but at the moment his stomach is non-discriminating.
“Yeah, it better. Won’t shut up about it, you. What’s good- the bowl or smoothie?”
“Hold on – Y/N? Is that you?”
Trent’s question goes unanswered, and smothered by the sound of Curtis’ yell. His voice lifts across the space, shouting the unfamiliar name another time, and again Trent is astounded by just how loud his teammate’s voice can be. That level of volume is helpful on the pitch but embarrassing in public, and Trent feels the eyes of at least one of the patrons on them.
“Curtis? Curtis Jones? Oh my days, one second–”
The ceramic counter holding the ingredients curves around into a small kitchen entrance on the left, and from where he’s standing, Trent can’t see what, or whoever it is that Curtis sees. But the mutual excitement in the voices can’t be missed.
“No way! Get over here!”
Curtis shouts, bouncing on his toes. A moment later, a blur of movement in the shape of a girl flies in from the kitchen, and has Curtis pulled into a tight hug. His teammate reciprocates, and Trent can see his shoulder muscles working to tighten the squeeze, even with the width of counter between them.
“Long time no see, Curt. Was starting to think you were something we dreamed up, only ever see you on the telly.”
Trent can soon confirm the voice does belong to a girl, and on the first glance he gets of her face it is slightly squished against Curtis’ shoulder, but painted in a look of open, undisguised surprise and happiness. It’s the kind of strong emotion he would only ever show on the pitch, almost never in a public place like this, and it almost feels like too much to witness such vulnerability from someone he doesn’t yet know, and who’s heartfelt reunion he seems to be third-wheeling on. He would look away, but his eyes betray him and zoom in, already busy taking inventory without consulting him first.
They start at her skin, which is glowy and smooth, and the same color he likes his tea, on the off day where he does drink a cup. He thinks it’s probably poor to compare a woman to a beverage, in fact, he knows it is, but blames it on his grumbling stomach and moves on. His gaze locks next on her lips, because she and Curtis are speaking again, loudly.
“Could say the same to you, can’t I, been ages since I’ve seen ya! And I’m loving the hair.”
“Yeah, wanted to try something different. It’s been a few years since I’m growing them.”
Her hair, Trent notices when he pulls his eyes from her face, is in locs like his, but lighter brown with amber highlights strewn throughout. They swing about her shoulders as she moves, so that she regularly has to push the strands back behind her ears, away from her face. The familiarity of the movement triggers a thing in his brain that yells “Me too!”, and his eyes travel the rest of her, suddenly hungry to find more things he recognizes. The first are her eyes, which are a warm, chocolatey brown, maybe two shades lighter than his own. The close second is that he finds her unpredictably, and undeniably attractive.
That feeling inside him that went dormant two months ago starts to fidget.
“How is everythin, though? Uni? And how’s the fam?” Curtis asks.
The two of them continue catching up with excitement that hasn’t yet worn off, and Trent stands to the side, trying not to intrude and trying not to be awkward. In a way he hopes is sly, he continues scrutinizing her features while intermittently looking at his shoes, up at the artsy menu board where the offerings are, impressively, engraved rather printed, and briefly at his phone.
He should, he supposes, listen politely to their conversation, try and contribute, but in truth he only checks back in after a loud burst of laughter. She's covering her mouth with one hand, and Curtis is straightening up from being almost doubled over.
“Whoo, I had nearly forgotten about that, you know! Your brother used to be absolutely mad. But hey, I was round here last week and didn’t see you. Are you workin here now?”
“Yeah, I am.” She pulls at the cafe emblem on the corner of her mauve t-shirt. “I’ll be working the front end of things while we’re still small. Only been at it a few days now, but Dad’s made sure I’m working hard.”
“I don’t doubt it, but you tell the big man he ought to hire some more staff, ‘cause me, I’ll be telling the whole city about this place. Dragged Trentski here as soon as I could, just to show him. Me first convert.”
The sound of his nickname evaporates whatever was left of his distraction, and he steps forward a little, as if finally being invited into the conversation. He looks up and finds she’s looking back at him.
“Alright?” She asks, smiling. “I’m Y/N.”
She waits for him to introduce himself even though if she’s a friend of Curtis and a footballer’s daughter, she surely knows who he is. Or does she? Either way, he decides he likes her for it.
“I’m Trent. Nice to meet you.”
“Good to meet you, too, Trent. Let me get Curt situated and then I’ll be right with you, yeah?” She smiles again, and it isn’t one of those plastic, forced customer service smiles, but one that lasts, like she means it. The light from it floods her eyes, and makes them even shinier, independent of the artificial lighting buzzing above them. In it’s glow, his chest does that stupid thing where it feels filled up with too much air.
He watches as she moves down the line and makes his teammate’s bowl with laser focus, trying to guess if what he’s sensing is just politeness, if her smile lasts as long every time. When the flash of white does appear behind her lips again, and twice more before she calculates Curtis’ total at the register, he gets too distracted by it to count the seconds.
“What would you like?” Too quickly she’s in front of him again, hands poised around a brown paper bowl.
“Em, yeah,” He clears his throat. “A bowl, please. Not a smoothie. The açai one?”
“Good choice.” She nods, while scooping portions of the purple fruit-yogurt mix into the container. “Any special add-ins for you today? Plant protein, energy, antioxidants?”
The health-food buzzwords set off signals in his head, and he gives the answer that would make his nutritionist proud.
“Need all of it, honestly.”
She laughs again, but it feels different this time, since he’s the one who made it happen, not Curtis.
“Good boy. Bet your nutritionist loves you. Which fruits?”
Trent freezes a second, affected in equal amounts by the “good boy” and the feeling that she’d read his mind. She pushes the right side of her locs back behind her ear in the silence.
“What about banana? It goes really well with the açai.” She offers.
“Yeah, banana’s good.”
She nods again and uses metal tongs to arrange the pale yellow pieces artfully over the yogurt. He goes on, choosing available fruits from the names listed on the clear glass shield, and trying not to stumble, again. The bowl gradually fills up, and it’s a smooth exchange – it’s much easier to do this, to talk and focus, he realizes, when her face is turned down – until they reach the last two options.
“Pineapple?”
“Em, nah, no pineapple, it-” The next bit of information he adds not because it’s particularly important, but because their interaction is almost over, and he doesn’t want it to be. “-makes me tongue feel—”
“All tingly? Yeah, that’s a thing!”
Her eyes light up as she exclaims and to Trent it seems her face sudddenly changes over — there’s more color in her cheeks, and vibration in her voice. But maybe he’s imagining it. She flits the tongs through the air as she continues.
“There’s an enzyme in pineapple, bromelain, that breaks down proteins, and you’ve got a bunch of those on your tongue and cheeks. It’s what makes it so acidic, and makes it burn a little to eat, but it’s interesting, cause, bromelain is also really good for you? Helps treat inflammation, and indigestion-“
“Not now, Y/N, just give the lad his food! If he wanted a lecture he would have gone uni with you.” Curtis teases from near the register, looking up from where he’d been on his phone, waiting. She graces him with a beautiful and dramatic roll of her eyes, but when she turns back to Trent they’re sincerely apologetic.
“I get a little carried away with the nutrition thing, forgive me. It’s nice to have Curt here, though, to keep me humble. Coconut?”
Trent wants to say, “No, it’s okay, I don’t mind it” but all he manages is a kind smile. He could care less now if she adds the shredded bits of white to his order or not, but he wants her to keep looking at him, for the excited glow on her face from when she’d mentioned food science to return.
“Em, yeah. Thank you.”
Minutes later, their bowls are bagged and paid for and they’re heading towards the door, fond words of parting on all their lips.
“You all come back, okay?” Y/N probes, pulling out from another Curtis, cross-counter hug. “And I’ll tell me brother and Dad you came in, Curt, they’ll be buzzin.”
“Oh for sure, I’ll send him a text as well. It’s been so nice seeing ya.”
“Same. And hope to see you again, too, Trent. Not just on the telly.” She waves at him, more a wiggle of her fingers, and it should look silly but somehow it isn’t. He wiggles his own back, and hopes it works for him too.
In the car, they dig in, setting aside the plastic lids unceremoniously on the dash. Curtis is obnoxious about the cleanliness and quality of many things, his clothes, trainers, and phone screen, but strangely his car isn’t one of them.
The bowl Trent ordered turns out to be far better than average. The yogurt is perfectly tart and tangy, the fruit crisp and juicy and the açai deliciously purple. He still hasn’t got the girl from the counter, Y/N, out of his head.
He’s four bites in when he finally asks the question bumping around his brain the past five minutes.
“How’d you know her again?”
“Who? Y/N? Her brother’s me mate. She was a year older, but we all grew up together in Toxteth. Why?”
“No reason.”
“Do you fancy her?”
“No-what lad?” Trent screws his face his up, unsure how indignant he truly is, and though he saw the question coming. Curtis only shrugs.
“I said, do you fancy her? I saw your face while yous was talkin, and you almost never ask after girls. Just pull with your mind games or telepathy or whatever it is you do.”
Trent gets a mouthful of coconut to formulate his answer, and the taste makes his stomach feel funny. He remembers why he doesn’t usually go for it.
“No, I mean, I think she’s good-lookin, yeah, but I don’t fancy her. Don’t even know her.”
“S’not hard to change that- I could put in a word for ya. Know she’s real busy, real serious about school and that, but you’re you, innit. Trent Alexander-Arnold. Be mad not to go for it.”
Trent lets the drama of Curtis’ compliment slide off him with a shake of his head. But the “you’re you” sticks; it’s what he’s been telling himself the two month’s he’s been girlfriend-less and on a season high not-winning streak, sitting middle of the table with indications to fall. He’ll keep on repeating it, or hearing it repeated to him, until it feels true again.
“You don’t feel weird about that? Since she’s your mate and all?”
“Why would I? You’re both sound people, better than sound. And if chattin to her gets rid of that kicked-dog look you’ve been wearin the past month, brother, I’ll plan the weddin.”
“I haven’t been— there won’t be-“ Trent splutters, before resigning to the chaos that is his closest teammate and friend. “I’ll keep the offer in mind, lad. But let me finish me smoothie bowl first, yeah? Let’s start there.”
“Okay, okay. You’ll remember I told you so.”
Trent keeps eating, lets Curtis switch the subject, and it's not until he’s home, scrolling the lists of Liverpool-based Instagram profiles containing the name “Y/N”, that he questions just what would be the subject of his friend’s “I told you so” — Y/N or the smoothie. He decides to treat him to another one tomorrow to find out.
what kind of snacks do you think aaron eats? like it’s probably different at the office / in the field / at home / working out don’t you think?
omg i completely agree!!!!!! <3 tw food
in the office, more often than not, it's whatever the bullpen's kitchenette has to offer - granola bars, assorted fruits, things like that. but since they're on the bland side, he mainly relies on snacks he brings from home, or he does have a box of microwave popcorn stored in one of his office cupboards. i also like to think - eventually he does have a drawer solely for snacks, for jack and any other kiddos when they visit 🥹
speaking of, at home: more homemade, healthy snacks. he's big on celery and peanut butter - getting a vegetable in, as well as the nutrients peanut butter provides. aaron's totallyyyyyy guilty of picking through jack's snacks too - goldfish crackers, fruit roll ups, fruit snacks. he's not a fan of chips - either too salty or greasy. but they are in the house because jack likes them/they'll go in his lunch every so often. however, aaron loves tortilla chips and guac/salsa 🫶🏻 big fan of hummus and pita too!!!
in the field, uncrustables. they're easy, he stores them in his briefcase, and it's something that can act as either a quick snack or a small lunch. it's good on the go too - for example, if he needs to go interview a witness or to a crime scene, he'll eat one en route in the car. he doesn't mind the strawberry jelly ones, but prefers grape
as for working out - smoothies (pb and banana, strawberry and banana), greek yogurt with granola, protein shakes, lots of water. he'll drink chocolate milk occasionally too 🫶🏻
and before you - aaron considered coffee a snack 😭 but you were quick to veto that - you were like yeah absolutely not you need something on your stomach and coffee does not cut it 😭
This is just gonna be abt healthy food swaps and things different foods can do for you, I'm not promoting Ed at all!!
Note‼️‼️
Only do these if you want to, you should enjoy your life. That means don't do food swaps all the time, treat yourself! To be honest I probably won't do any of these because I'm happy with my body and don't have too, you should be happy with yourself too!
Eating Healthy 🍓
It is important to eat healthy! It can do lots for your body, skin, and mood, I'm going to give you some healthy food swaps and tasty snacks to help!
Toxic things to get out of your head 🐇
Before I'm going to share these it's important to me that you don't use this unhealthy, stop telling yourself these things
"I need to eat healthy to loose weight"
No, you don't. All bodies are shaped different and process food differently, allergies for example. Not everyone has allergies so what makes you think everyone processes all food the same? You can still be healthy without 'looking healthy'
"I'll only eat for energy, not taste"
Man just enjoy your life 😭 I see ppl say this a lot but it doesn't make sense. Break your shell and try more foods and flavors, enjoy yourself
"I have to look like them"
Nuh uh! You're hotter 💋
Remember if you wouldn't say it to a bunny DO NOT SAY IT TO YOUR SELF‼️‼️
Can you do a hesdcannon of like george as a husband because I feel like boyfriend george and husband george would be very different?
oh the idea of husband george is a killer. we can definitely dwell more on this...
-> he becomes a lot more mature.
-> breakfast in bed. -> a few days of the week, his days usually start a little earlier than hers because he tries to squeeze in a session at the gym before he's away from home for the day so he'll make her a bowl of granola and yogurt with lots of fruit and leave it in the fridge to she can eat it as soon as she's up. -> on special occasions, he'll surprise her with a cooked breakfast. pancakes and strawberries with egg and beans on toast on another plate, freshly squeezed orange juice and an iced coffee. -> and it goes the other way, of course. -> sometimes, she'll wake up earlier than him and surprise him with french toast or a pile of pancakes or a full english breakfast if he has a long travel day ahead of him.
-> he always makes time for her. -> "just because we're married, it doesn't mean i don't want to spend time with you." -> when her days are long and she's rushed off her feet with work, he'll put together a special at-home dinner date where he pulls out all the stops - everything they eat is homemade, the candles are lit, the table is set, he has an expensive bottle of white wine on ice and he has soft and gentle music playing as opposed to his usual playlist and it makes her feel instantly relaxed. -> they always go out on dates. sometimes it'll just be drinks at a pub. sometimes it'll be something fun like bowling or mini-golf. but most of the time, they'll take turns finding a restaurant and they treat the other to a lovely night. -> "i still appreciate you and everything you do for me."
-> he's much more helpful. -> if she's away, he'll clean up after himself as opposed to leaving it all for her to come back to. -> there are times when he joins her in a spring clean - reaching all the high spots where she struggles to reach, doing the washing for her so she can do other things around the house, helping her reorganise their home to open the space up a bit more. -> and he definitely dabbles in a little DIY. -> putting up shelves, hanging photos up on the wall, building all the new furniture that she buys and having his say in where different bits should go.
-> he's a lot more seen, too. -> where they finally live together, and where he works from home most of the time, she knows he'll be there when she arrives home from her work... unless he's away for a shoot or for a brand deal or for a lads trip away to the slopes. -> and when he is away, he's making her feel like she's there. calling her all the time, face-timing her when she's on a break, texting her and sending her photos so she can feel somewhat included in what he's up to. -> there's just something that makes yn feel warm on the inside when she remembers he's there to give her a cuddle when she walks through the front door. even more so when she's had a rough day and needs some kind of solace to help her forget everything that had gone on. xx
The Hellfire meeting had started three hours ago, this time it was on a Friday, the special meeting put in place so the group could finish out the campaign as late as possible. The group was growing restless, a few of the boys were hungry, Y/n was busting with energy, surprisingly still big, determined to finish out the game, and Eddie in need of a smoke break.
“Okay, 30 minuet break.” Eddie huffed, standing up and stretching, the rest of the group following suit.
“You think the cafeteria has any good snacks?” Dustin asked, turning his head towards Lucas and Y/n.
“I say we go check.” Y/n beamed, immediately b-lining for the door, ready for a snack of any sort.
Y/n, Dustin and Lucas walked down the hallway, their destination just a few doors down, and left unlocked. The lunch ladies seemed to have a sweet spot for the group, maybe it was Eddie’s charm, or the fact that the group would often help clean up if need be. Whatever the reason, they didn’t care, free snacks for some chores sounded great to the hungry group.
“I hope there’s left over granola from this morning.” Y/n smiled, skipping down the hallway.
“Just the granola or yogurt too?” Lucas asked, causing Y/n to abruptly turn around, the force of their stop knocking them over onto their pack. A loud ‘Thud’ could be heard when their head hit the floor. “Y/n!?” Lucas worried, hopping the situation wasn’t as bad as he assumed it was.
“It hurts.” Y/n said, trying to hold back tears and trying to stay as big as possible.
“Well yah dummy you fell.” Dustin laughed, walking over to help them up.
“‘m not a dummy!” They cried, the tears finally making their way down Y/n’s cheeks.
“Way to go idiot!” Lucas called, a few steps behind the two.
“He’s not an idiot!” Y/n cried again, distraught, holding the back of their head as it throbbed.
Gareth ran up behind the group, Mike not too far behind him. “What’s going on?” He said worriedly. “We heard crying.” He and Mike were both out of breath from running to help right away.
“They hit their head.” Dustin explained, now sitting next to Y/n, his hand on their back. “Like a pretty big thud.” He whispered hoping Y/n wouldn’t hear the last part.
“It hurts.” Y/n mumbled, now fully regressed, trying their best to cope with the pain they were currently experiencing.
Gareth took a deep breath, Eddie was outside, most likely in the woods, having a moment to himself. So that meant that they needed to solve this issue, the group now officially babysitters, like they promised to be. “Okay.” Gareth began, ready to take over the situation as the leader. “Someone grab a bag of frozen, fruit? Something we can use as an ice pack, and then someone else grab Y/n a snack.”
“Why a snack?” Mike asked, ready to do anything for Y/n but wondering what Gareth’s intentions were at the moment with his plan.
“Eating always makes me feel better.” He stressed, grabbing Y/n’s hands as he helped them up. Leading them back to the drama room, his hand on their back as he waved the others to begin their mission.
“‘m sorry.” Y/n mumbled, a few tears still making their way down their cheeks. “I ruined the game.” They sobbed, once again beginning a wave of new tears.
The two approached the empty drama room, the other two members most likely wandering around the school somewhere. “You did’t ruin anything little terror.” He cooed, sitting Y/n down in Eddie’s chair, the only one with armrests that would allow a bit more support. “We can still play, you just scared us.” He reasoned, thinking Y/n was most likely picking up on the stress of the group, which was coming from an injured member, not because they couldn’t play.
“You not mad?” They asked, the tears calming down, but still marking their face. Gareth shook his head, sitting next to Y/n as they awaited the others.
“Okay!” Dustin called as the three boys entered the room, a bag of frozen cherries in his hands, and yogurt with berried and granola in Lucas’s. Mike stood behind the two, a few juice boxes in his hands, enough for the whole group. Dustin walked up to Y/n, maneuvering their head so it leaned against the back of the chair, placing the bag of cherries ontop of their head. “That should help make the bump feel better.” Dustin smiled, Y/n looking a little silly with a bag ontop of their head, a large smile adorning their face.
“And this is for you.” Lucas said, walking towards Y/n and handing them the small bowl of yogurt, granola and berries, a fancy snack for a sad little terror.
The boys all sat down around the table, drinking their juice boxes and chatting amongst each other, the two other members arriving and doing the same.
- - - - - -
Once Eddie made his way back to the room he could hear laughter, the drama room’s lights on and not dimmed, the groups laughter loud and joyous. As he stepped in he saw Y/n with a bag of frozen cherries strapped to their head with a random shoelace, standing in front of his chair, like he would, babbling about dragons and making gasping noises.
“Ahh, so the little terror becomes the master of the game.” He sighed, walking towards his chair, placing his hands on both sides of Y/n’s face, their cheeks squishing together as he checked them over. “What happened?” He asked, wondering why such an elaborate ice pack was being used.
“Hit my head.” They mumbled, pointing towards the frozen fruit perched atop their head. “Dey all made me a cold hat.” They smiled, pointing towards the boys in the room. “I lob them.” Y/n laughed, hugging Eddie and yawning.
“You tired?” He asked, hoping the answer was no, knowing he needed to keep them awake if the bump was bad. Y/n nodded, snuggling closer into his chest. Eddie sat in his chair, his back touching the back of the chair and legs spread as wide as possible, seating Y/n on the empty chair space, wrapping an arm around them to keep them in place, and putting his own head on their shoulder, letting him see his game notes, and keep an eye on the little terror. “You guys ready?” He asked, the room nodding, handing Eddie a juice box of his own.
The group could get used to this, some teamwork, laughs, fun, and wholesome Eddie.
