I'm dedicating this blog to the tanakh and talmud fandom. If you're here for my works of other fandoms and want to see more of that please go to @shiurkomaalt, i will put my future works there. I like angst, messed up things and doing character designs. I also love to torture my OCs. I might open an OC blog in the future.

What i mainly like within tanakh/talmud:

- Yehonatan/David

- most of the Bereshit cast

- The story of the four who entered the pardes

- Elisha Ben-Avuyah's many shinanigans and his colleagues. I got hooked after reading "as a driven leaf" but i don't stick to that depiction with fanarts

I haven't posted any talmud fanarts yet, or enough tanakh fanart for that matter. There's very little content right now so I'm mainly planning the content for this blog here. I'm busy studying so i don't think these content will come out anytime soon either. I will not post very often in general.

I learn about tanakh and talmud for purely recreational purposes. I make a lot of headcanons, but i limit myself to only make them based on stuff that i already researched on and have a basic level of understanding about. If you are proficient in torah or talmud studies you are welcome educate me.

⚠️Before you start scrolling:

This is my hobby and non of my works pose as serious interpretations of the original literature, all interpretation or conspiracy theory belongs in the "headcanon" category. From now on i will only tag my work with tags such as "the bible fandom" instead of "the bible" or "tanakh".

Please note, I interpret these stories through an agnostic lens and i play around with the characters like I would characters of any other fandom. So if you are religious this is probably not for you. I like gore, i like to make headcanons and most importantly i like shipping characters together. Seriously, nothing is holy here, for the sake of your sanity think twice before you decide to scroll down or sub.

My content is not suited for anyone under the age of 18. Not only because of the topics i like to explore are grim, but also because there will be NSFW content at some point.

What you will probably see on this blog:

- exaggerated character designs of tanakhic/talmudic figures. Not as exaggerated as the fate series but it won't be very historically accurate either

- headcanons, conspiracy theories and personal depictions that are most likely gonna be very far from usual depictions and academic/ religious consensus

I remember finding the series when there were only 3 chapters out, and I've never been more grateful to have found it! I absolutely adore the series (and all of your other work too! I found you through Bloody Summer on AO3~) (σ≧▽≦)σ

I love your ideas, your style of writing, the plot, the cringe, and 2nd hand embarrassment I get when reading. I adore you! Did I say how much I adore you? Well I absolutely adore you! ( ≧∀≦)ノ

ANYWAYS, enough rambling about how much I adore you and your work, LET'S TALK ABOUT CHPATER 14!!

When the explosion went off and I started freaking out along with Raven... I was about to fight whoever was going to hurt my babies (the alphas are everything but babies but they're my babies!) (ノ｀Д´)ノ彡┻━┻

Then, when I read that Nanami was injured and was bleeding, I was about to throw hands at the monster! Luckily (but still unlucky), it was just the poison... I need Nanami to be healthy again!! =(っ*´□`)っ

And then Satoru.

I'm biased since Satoru is my favorite, BUT THE WAY, MY HEART BROKE WHEN HE THOUGHT WE HATED HIM!!! I was screaming and crying no and how much I loved him. I need to hug my baby and smother him in my love. ｡･(つд`｡)･｡

AND THEN THE ENDING OF THE CHAPTER! Had me screaming from the kiss, and now I'm so excited for the next chapter! Time is moving too slow for me, I want to know what happens next, and I absolutely can't wait! (Take your time. This is just me being annoying–) 。。(〃_ _)σ∥

I’m so glad you found me~ bloody summer was such a long time ago oh wow 😂. I have changed so much since my friend and I started that one. Sometimes I read it and hiss a bit, it is quite dark. I might rewrite it in my style? (Is that a writing style? I dunno I’m kind of new to this lol.) I was once a sadistic bean but I am now turned into a mushy chef 👩‍🍳(I swear I blame gege it’s his fault and I will raise my fist to the sky till the day I rest). Yes 🥺, they are our psycho little pack but we must take care of them because they are silly and stupid at times.

I’m bias about all the characters, my daddies can do nothing wrong XD. Gojo feeling sad because he’s feeling left out makes me do tha aaaahh~ poor bebe~

House of alpha is one of those stories where I’m writing a chapter and have to stop myself because I’m writing into the next chapter. I had planned to make chapter 14 longer but it was already peaking 4k and you know Gojo is going to want more from that kiss because he’s greedy 👀~. I also had fell asleep like right after I posted hahah. I was so mad when my work didn’t save I stayed up all night to finish it so don’t worry I’ll try to get that next chapter to you ASAP~ I do have two children that are not yet out the house (Looks at Desert Rose and House of Alpha stories) I must love them both equally so the next post will be for Desert Rose ~ don’t worry she’s almost old enough lol (not me treating my stories like kids XD) 🖤

Oh! Yes! I have very interesting dreams. I have so many ideas that I have to close off because I need to finish the stories I have lol. I like to focus on one or two stories at a time.

So~ I don’t think I can tell you how fucking hilarious it was when i ran away in my dream from the omega house. In my dream I actually was on the boat getting ready to sail. I was leaning on the side looking out at the beautiful ocean while taking a deep sigh. Like damn those were some hot ass alphas, I’ll never get that experience but oh well~ The captain sounded the bell for us to go but then stopped mid ring. that’s when two men stepped up beside me. Sukuna was snacking on fingers (he was a lot more gruesome in my dream. Like he actually killed miwa in my dream because he got pissy of the food she served him so I made sure to save her in the actual story and made that part part of the game story if that makes sense) while Toji just leaned on the side to admire the view with me. And Toji was like nice view Huh? And sukuna was like yeah imma stop you right here I don’t like boats get the fuck off And I looked at them like WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU GUYS DOING HERE?! And toji was like oh we were just seeing where you were going but let’s stop it here prime omega. And the complete shock I felt when they told me they chose me sent me flying over board as I swam away and ran because I just can’t accept nice things XD. yeah hehe my dream was more of the smutty bits and plots lol I don’t want to spoil it 🤭.

But when I woke up I was left in awe. It was like i watched a really good movie but I can’t tell anyone to watch it because it doesn’t exist so I gotta retell the story like tenacious D singing their tribute to the greatest song in the world but it was the greatest reverse harem issekai in the world 🤣🖤. I was like the people must know of this story !

Anything that goes wrong on campus can most likely be traced back to Mirai and Ace

Top 10 Vocaloid Songs for 2023

Hi, im Jakob Cobb and I enjoy a good vocaloid song.

Inspired by a certain someone posting about it monthly, I've decided to compile a top 10 list of my favorite vocaloid songs of the year. There is no rhyme or reason about them and it’s 100% just decided on the fact that I love the song for one reason or another

Without much else to say, I will say that this has been an awesome year of vocaloid music and I hope next year continues to be great.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: 花隈の歌は可愛いし小春六花はマジでうるさい - Gyari Honestly just makes the list purely on the fact it makes me happy that Gyari released two vocaloid songs in the year, which is something I thought they never might do again after they dedicated themselves to vtuber creation and management (?) かまぼこかまほろかまことか -  yuro mashima A song im very sad to cut out of the top ten, all due to the fact this song was released on December 30 last year. This song introduced me to yuro mashima, who has released some incredibly good songs in the year (i'm a big fan of the song about brushing your teeth) フランスパンのうた (cover) - world elec. Decided against the inclusion of this song on the top ten over the fact its A) A cover and B) Of an old song at that, regardless, it's really good to hear both OG Teto and New Teto together in a song and making both of them sound good, it also includes a MIDI kazoo solo 少女レイ (remix) - Haru-Ichiban The reason for not including this one in the top ten is due to it being a remix of an already popular vocaloid song, however I feel like it bears to mention how outstanding Haru-Ichiban’s remix is. This song just tickles my brain in the right way and uses the basis of the original to create its own feel サカサカバンバンバスピスピス - Yakomochi The first of three、 absolutely different songs that Yakomochi has become known for. I love the simple silliness this song has an continues to shine on the future works that Yakomochi has made since then 10. TEN: モミアゲヲシャカアゲヲ - Nu^16 Like one of the top comments of the video mentions (by the aptly named @mnmnmmnmmmmmm), the price Nu^16 pays for being a prodigious composer, lyricist and artist/painter is that they can only make joke-y silly songs, despite this and honestly adding to it, the fact that these songs are very funny but still legit good songs really makes it click for me 9. NINE: おどロボ - Umicha The fact that Umicha has only really made three songs in their career (the other two being also amazing), goes to show that some amazing producers have shown up in recent years and that they’ll hopefully continue to make amazing music for the years to come (and as will be shown later, Umicha isn't the only producer with three amazing songs under their belt as their first three) 8. EIGHT:

怪電話 - r-906 This song made me learn about ROSE and POPY, the bandori voice synths, and I think that alone should make this song rank highly. r-906 is a really good producer and they’ve been around for a bit but this song just hits an absolute home run for me with the way its paced and the phone samples 7. SEVEN: 機械少女と三十路OL - Ro2noki Can a song cement a ship in your brain? It can for me! Ro2noki’s awesome song rewired my brain in such a way that Rei and Teto are almost inseparable and are dating, it does help that both their twitter accounts have leaned into it heavily, along with the heaps and heaps of wonderful art of them together 6. SIX: オーバーライド - Yoshida Yasei This became a pretty popular niconico MAD song for some reason, but honestly I get it, everyone enjoys a high energy and tempo song with a really good looking but simple video. Something about this song just works for me wonderfully and it really makes the New Teto sound incredibly nice 5. FIVE:

太陽ポカポカで草 - namigroove Namigroove was a surprise to me this year, they made a bunch of really good songs and my favorite is the one song that sounds like a Vulfpeck song. They're also one of the realest producers out there, their taste in music is insane and so is their choice of voice synths 4. FOUR: 焦燥 - kinoue64 Sometimes certain songs awaken you to understanding that there is so many different things voice synths can do and this is for sure one of them. The Miku shoegaze song is a crazy good song and so is the rest of the album it comes from, if you have the chance do listen to it 3. THREE:

ホントノ - Haraguchi Sasuke It's rare that a commercial producer goes into vocaloid (at least in my experience, it's usually the reverse that happens), but Sasuke has not only knocked it out of the park with the three or so songs he’s made using vocaloid, it only looks like he’s getting started and I look forward to all new songs he’ll make 2. TWO:

ちっちゃな私 - Masarada New Teto release was bound to create new producers for her but no one could’ve anticipated that one would show up and deliver amazing and very distinct songs out of nowhere. Masarada is a producer that I believe will become a household name with some of the greatest vocaloid producers to ever do it if they manage to continue releasing the high quality and chock full of personality songs they’ve managed to release so far, with the song i'm choosing as my top two song of the year being my favorite of them 1. ONE:

KEEP YOUR HEADACHES - Ryo Iogi Teto Hyperpop!!! Not only did this song basically put me on to enjoying hyperpop more but also became one of my most listened to songs of the year period. I hope the Ryo Iogi will eventually make more hyperpop style songs using voice synths (although I will say their grungy Chis-A song is also awesome), because they clearly have a talent for making the style of music and how to blend it with the intricacies of working voice synths

As I have already written in this journal, eventually I have been writing my English memo for the next presentation I will do at the 15th of this month. It seems that I just need to write various facts for that, so I am trying to record them dutifully, not only the thoughts I have within this life. For example, although you may think this must not be funny/attractive, I record what books I have borrowed from the library, or what music I have been attracted by. I have even recorded diligently when I went to the bathroom at AEON.

Yes, today I went to the library to borrow some books. Although I planned to borrow two books including Yukio Mishima's "Spring Snow" (三島由紀夫『春の雪』), at there a librarian said to me that they had the book by Claude Simon's classical novel I had once reserved (クロード・シモン『農耕詩』.) So I borrowed all of them and went back to my group home. After having a nap, even though it was completely a free time for me so I could stay in my room comfortably with doing nothing, I couldn't stay still (maybe this has come from my autism) so went outside again.

At AEON, I had played a few silly ideas alone. For example, I had thought what ideas could the Paul and John had thought during their playing The Beatles' various bangers (could they think that during playing their evergreen love songs "Oh, he must have played a wrong tune!"). And also, I started reading an interesting book. During reading it, I thought about death which would someday come to me. Yes, the novel (保坂和志『もうひとつの季節』) certainly tells me how wonderful this world itself can be. TBH, once I had adored this author's great philosophical and imaginative mind.

When I was a heavy drinker, I had rarely read books. Although I had had a certain will to stop/quit drinking alcohol forever from that time/moment, I couldn't stop doing that silly habit/behavior. So now, although I always have to experience a trouble to endure boredom which seems me driving mad, I can enjoy reading with a stable mind - Probably the life has been made as a fair thing.

Zuo Ran’s Love Theme

This is going to bother me until I get it off my chest, especially when I have negative expectations of this being conveyed in any of the localizations.

But Zuo Ran says a line during Chapter 1 of the main story that is crucial to his character and his relationship with the heroine. It’s also repeated in his Character PV and his drunk date.

SPOILERS for Chapter 1 of the main story and touches upon Zuo Ran’s character, and will show images from [SSR One Step Away] and [SSR Two Inseparable Hearts].

So, in Chapter 1, Zuo Ran asks Zhai Xing to help him find a partner and, after giving her all the things he’s looking for, this is her response:

Zhai Xing (Voice Message): Zuo Ran, wake up! A person capable of being your mirror can only be encountered and not sought for, alright?!

Hearing Zhai Xing’s “roar”, Zuo Ran furrowed his brows again and then sighed.

His sight swept across the reference book on the table again and his slender fingers slid over the spine of the book.

Zuo Ran: Can only be encountered… and not sought for…

The phrase both of them are using here is 可遇而不可求 and the literal translation is above.

To make it clearer, what this phrase means is that what belongs in your life will come to you and what doesn’t belong to your life should not be forced. A wondrous thing can only be waited for and if it belongs to you then, when the opportunity comes, you put in the effort and you will get it. However, if it doesn’t belong to you, then even if you force it and obtain it for a short while you will still ultimately lose it in the end.

There is a subtle nuance here that I have not seen any other translation capture. The thing you want is not rare, it’s not hard to come by, but it’s also not something that can be gotten so long as you put enough work into it. The whole meaning of the phrase 可遇而不可求 is that you cannot go looking for what you want, because you won’t be able to find it.

However, it’s also not saying you can just sit on your butt and wait for life to deliver what you want. Life only delivers you the encounter (or opporunity) and then it’s up to you to decide whether you want to put in the effort for it or miss out on it.

Now, how does this apply to Zuo Ran? It’s literally present in every interaction he has with his heroine. To him, his heroine is the encounter that life has given him, and if he blows his chance then he will never be able to get this opportunity again, no matter how hard he works.

And so, even when he’s sure about his feelings for her and wants to pursue her, he does it in such a tentative, careful, gentle, and considerate way. He’s not oblivious to his own emotions and, in fact, is quite obvious of them and even shows his possessiveness to other men.

However, he is terrified of pushing too hard and fast with his heroine and scaring her away (in addition to being clumsy with how to woo someone in general). This is also why he keeps using that hilarious Love Psychology book, because he wants to get all the steps right. There can be no room for error because, again, if he blows his chance then it’s gone forever.

Anyway, as I mentioned, you can see this tentativeness everywhere but I love how explicit it is in his card names and why I love these two cards. Let’s see if Themis keeps up with this theme, haha.

In December 2020, he got a card called 一步之遥 which literally translates to One Step Away.

Then, in April 2021, for his birthday he got a card called 两心无间 which I call Two Inseparable Hearts but it’s literally No Distance Between Two Hearts.

Is this not poetic beauty? I’ve seen hilarious comments about how, in keeping to this number theme because the Chinese titles start with numbers, the next one should be 三年抱俩 (two babies within three years) and then 四世同堂 (four generations in one family) HAHA.

Returning to the topic, I wouldn’t say that Zuo Ran is shy, oblivious, or hesitant to show his emotions; he’s really just being extra-cautious, extra-considerate, and taking the utmost care because of the belief that his heroine is someone he fatefully encountered in his life, but if he messes this up then he’ll lose his chance forever.

(Silly man doesn’t realize that, among all the guys, he’s actually the one who constantly gets the red thread of fate theme. The universe drew them together in the past, before they even knew each other, and continues to draw them together in the present, and now the heroine just has to step forward and take his hand.)

Hi. I have reading tgcf posts and really love them. I am quite new to chinese books, and have enjoyed mxtxs work quite a lot. Chinese culture and history has been pretty unknown to me up to this point, but I have been researching and finding out more about it, mainly the history, and the mythology but also the culture, both historical and current modern. Hence why reading your posts have so fun for me: translations can only deliver the text to a certain extent, but its a different experience to get the little bits and pieces that get lost in the process, especially from a person who gets them and history and the context behind them. I had a question: I am currently interested in the chinese festival and celebrations. They are a lot of them and I have read on how they were historically celebrated, but I was wondering how are they currently celebrated in modern Chinese families. Which ones are the main ones? Are there parades and festivities for each or most of them more family affairs? Do you decorates your houses for them (ex. Like christmas decor) and make special foods? Do you feel like those celebrations have decreased and become more sedate over the year? If yes, why do you so? I would honestly appreciate it sooo much. Thank you 😊

Hi! Thank you for sharing your thoughts! And I’m always happy to see people becoming more interested in Chinese culture through reading mxtx or other danmei novels. Let’s start with the Chinese New Year, or the Spring Festival, because it’s the most important one and also my fav.

Chinese New Year is all about family reunions. The celebrations last around seven days and you get together with your extended family and close friends during this time. Being surrounded by family is always important for Chinese people but especially important during Chinese New Year, hence the phenomenon in China called 春运 (the Spring Festival travel rush). Millions of people would travel across the country from the cities where they work to their hometown in the countryside to see their family, and trains would be absolutely packed during this period.

The most important night over the whole period of celebration is New Year’s Eve (大年三十) where you have the most important meal (年夜饭) with your extended family. It’s usually a pretty fun and very loud occasion because the entire extended family would be present, and the only thing not so fun is that as kids, my cousins and I would be asked to stand up in front of the whole table and give a toast to our grandparents and aunts and uncles. It’s a gesture of respect to the elders and it can be quite stressful because they’d expect you to say something nice and clever, and it made me feel like a circus monkey. And if we’re eating at a restaurant, a major entertainment would be watching my parents fighting with my cousin’s parents and my other cousin’s parents to pay for the meal. It usually begins like this: “let us pay” “don’t be silly, we’ll pay” “come on stop it, we’ll pay this time” “this place is close to our house so let us pay”…and it goes on and on and gets increasingly more dramatic.

I don’t remember there being any special dishes for the Chinese New Year (it might differ from region to region), but there’d usually be a lot of meat dishes. As for decorations, people would usually put up 春联 at the entrance to their home, 春联 is two strips of red paper with a couplet written on them that’s usually some sort of blessing or good wish for the new year. The decorations for the Chinese New Year are usually bright red because it’s an auspicious colour full of hope and vitality. I remember my family hanging big Chinese knots at home during the new year. Chinese knots would look like this:

The Lantern festival follows right on the heels of the Chinese New Year and it’s more of an occasion to go out and watch the lantern shows, also people always eat tangyuan on this day.

Another important festival is the Qingming festival, or the Tomb Sweeping Day, which is a day to visit the ancestral graves and honour the dead. It’s also a popular day to have a spring trip to the countryside because it’s the time of year when the weather’s getting sunny and warm. During Qingming Festival, in the neighborhoods where I grew up, I’d see people drawing white circles along the roads with chalk and burning joss papers in those circles (people who read MDZS would know about this). I think the white circle is to keep other wandering ghosts out so they won’t snatch away the offerings you made to your ancestors, but there should be an opening in the circle to let the ghosts of your ancestors in (I’m no expert on this at all so my explanations might be inaccurate). There’s an origin story of Qingming festival that’s very interesting but also tragic, you can read it here (I remember telling the story to @lucysarah-c and she said that the emperor in the story is the first yandere XD)

The Dragon Boat Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival are also both very important ancient festivals with a lot of cultural significance, but for me they’re just like…days where I can eat certain kinds of food. At the Dragon Boat Festival we eat zongzi, which is a steamed rice dish wrapped in bamboo leaves. The rice cooked in this way would have the taste of the fresh fragrance of bamboo leaves so it’s very nice :3

At Mid-Autumn Festival it’s customary to watch the full moon on that day and eat mooncakes. In the Chinese language, roundness and fullness (of the moon) = completeness = the entire family being together, so it’s also a day of family reunion (I hope this explanation makes sense).

To answer your final question, no I don’t think those celebrations have decreased or become more sedated. Traditions are very important for Chinese people; we’re a people that like to look on the past and historically tend to assume that the past is always better than the present. Granted that the trend during the 20th century was to condemn and overthrow the ancient traditions because 20th century China was impoverished and war-torn and left far behind by the Western nations, and the old, stale, and outdated traditions were heavily blamed for impeding China’s progress. If you read the prominent 20th century Chinese authors, a lot of their works would have some variation of the message that “the past must die so China can be reborn.” It’s a message I was very familiar with growing up, and I was always aware of this strand of hostility and wariness towards traditional values in contemporary Chinese thought. But I feel like in recent years, increasingly people are looking at old traditions in more appreciative ways and getting rid of the critical attitude towards traditions prevalent in the previous century. So I don’t see the importance of those traditional festivals decreasing.
