my bf oliver quick headcanons
semi nsfw ☆
hand + thighs man —
both in an erotic sense and a romantic sense. he finds beauty in hands and thighs, and i imagine he likes grabbing your thigh when you're sitting close together.
cigarette sharing —
he doesn't smoke as much as the others. and, you probably don't, either. there's something amusing to him about holding up the cigarette for you to take a drag and watching you cough and your face go red. im sorry but he's weird.
pda —
with oliver, i dont see him really being public about dating you. his true self is complicated. he's possessive over you and doesn't like you getting flirted with, but also doesn't feel the need to air out his business that you're dating. not just possessive, but also obsessive. he'd be the type that's torn over showing you off, or keeping you all to yourself. but then, he'd also think that information being out there that you're his would be too vulnerable. and so, his 'pda' is VERY subtle. thigh grabs under the table, pinning you in darken corners to kiss you, things like that.
music —
okay. hear me out. i feel like he'd listen to the smiths. but not just the smiths. the killers, and she wants revenge. i feel like he'd also enjoy slowdive and like felix, muse. also, the bravery. fav song would be hatefuck lol. likes sharing his earbuds with you when you two are relaxing, and lets you queue songs.
size difference —
okay. so he's not THAT much taller than you, but he is larger in body size. he's ripped. so, rather than wholly using his general size against you, he LOVES using his strength against you. it's fun when you argue and he's able to pin you down, or when you're having sex, do the same or press your face into the pillows. will also sometimes pick you up and throw you over his shoulder. in a softer sense, he likes cuddling by holding you into him or hugging you from behind when you're doing something.
sex life —
hes intense. im just gonna say it. ofc there will be times where hes more gentle than most because he can't just manhandle you all the time, but let me say it now — HES always in the dominant position. he finds it cute when you try to fight his dominance to take over, but he wins every. time. when your relationship progresses though, he'll probably find it more comfortable to submit. likes leaving bruises from impact, bite marks. sloppy kisses because he likes tasting you, and of course, big on giving head. i feel like he'd probably like some blood in there too, probably from making your lips bleed.
pet names —
'doll', 'baby', 'little mouse'. i feel like the last one is more so when just 'putting you in your place'
i love yous —
this is tricky with oliver. i feel like you'd have to get him in a vulnerable position to say 'i love you' — you'd say it first, and he'd be reluctant to return it, even though he loves you back. probably when an argument gets especially bad, and you're on the verge of leaving him is when he says it.
arguments —
i feel like eventually, him not wanting to be public about your relationship would be an issue. or maybe he pisses you off due to his obsessive or possessive behavior, and it causes issues. will always squeeze your cheeks and grab your chin and force eye contact during arguments. he likes seeing you angry, riled up.
hopeless —
i feel like he's also big on sending voice notes. ofc texting too! but his voice is pretty, and it's sort of enjoyable to him. plus, he likes receiving them back.
party life —
we know already that he's more reserved, but that doesn't mean he's a party pooper. he just doesn't party as hard as felix, far, or venetia, but he drinks. he always keeps an eye on you. NEVER looks away. if you're getting flirted with, he'll tell them to get lost. probably ends up getting jealous when you dance with someone else and pulls you off to remind you you're his.

OUTLAWS X READER Headcanons
this for that poll I did and Jason Todd headcanons won, but with a twist. Just writing something to cheer me up after someone made me cry:
i don’t have the money to read all the comics so pls bare with me and my knowledge exclusive from social media and dc pages that need better summary.
• Reader has Scarlet witch like powers. (Wanda in DC lmao)
• you trained with Constantine for a few years, until you met Jason and joined his emo group
• It’s more like a team with Roy and Jason but ofc pairing up with the iconic group from time to time
• Everyone is helplessly in love with you, but in different ways.
• You were kind to Bizarro from moment one, never making him feel like a monster. you have used your powers to soothe his mind, which he appreciates
• “you’re so ugly” “you don’t look like a princess”
• “aw Bizarro, you are too nice”
• you bought him a Black Canary vinyl, and he declared his love for you right then and there
• Artemis and you might have had a rough start, but eventually became close, too close
• You helped her see her strength in her own inside war
• She respects strong women, and knows one when she sees her. So she had a great respect for you, as you for her.
• eventually she might have had a small crush on you, though crushes are not her thing.
• you guys complain about the guys way too much (And you love it)
• Pls Roy thinks you are hot and that’s enough for him to love you.
• though you are pretty cool too. (And he’s aware of the fact that you can easily kill him)
• you both enjoy listening to punk bands and feel like rebel kids. Is fun.
• you also mock Jay together, he hates it.
• Roy and Artemis have gotten into fights while pulling you to each of their sides because of who should be the one to take you out
• “I’m the hottest redhead” “you’re the dumbest redhead”
• “Jason is also a redhead..?” “He is a fake redhead. He doesn’t deserve you”
• Jokes on them, while they keep fighting you are glancing towards Jason, who is just sitting with his legs propped up on a table, reading away
• he looks cute.
• but don’t tell him.
• honestly, you don’t know what’s going on with Jason. You are attracted to him, and you know he is towards you too.
• he is just so complicated
• sometimes the burning sensation of the Lazarus Pit gets the best of him and he loses it, his anger taking control. Luckily you are always there for him.
• your magic soothes him and helps him compose himself.
• you stay with your foreheads touching while you match your breathing. Waiting for him to take control over on his own.
• Sometimes just your touch, w/o magic, is enough to calm him. That sweet reminder that not every touch from a foreign skin on his means pain.
• the only pain you could ever cause him is in his heart.
• but he won’t tell you that. (Or to himself)
• you actually met when he was Robin, but you were a civilian, and neither of you recall much. You more than him though.
• someone once called you wannabes Justice Leaguers, You all showed your appreciation for the comment <3 🔪
• most of the justice league either doesn’t know about you, or are too scared to come close. Your ex-mentors love u tho (supes is another story, kay?)
• you all are just fun, traumatized friends hanging out
• they are your found family, and you wouldn’t change them for anything <3

Sturniolo Triplets/Sam & Colby as Mythical Creatures
Nicolas Sturniolo Griffin
Tumblr media
Nick was the easiest one to choose for me. The Griffin symbolises strength, courage and leadership in heraldry and in Christianity, it symbolises divine power, all of which I think relates to Nick directly. He is a very prominent person, his personality is overpowering in the best way possible and he tends to steer Matt and Chris in the right direction, his leadership is something they both look up to.
Matthew Sturniolo Vampire
Tumblr media
The reason I chose Matt as a vampire is because in folklore, the rumour of vampires was spread to invoke fear amongst people to shun those who were different. I think Matt has always felt very different from most people his whole life as well as the fact he just looks like he would be a part of the Cullen family. Y’all know I’m right.
Christopher Sturniolo Faerie
Tumblr media
The first thing that came to mind with Chris was a Faerie and it’s because it’s believed that Faeries appear to you to symbolise growth and illusion. It’s said that they are very complicated mythical creatures and I feel as though Chris is a very complicated person (in a good way ofc). Faeries are said to enjoy testing boundaries, games and conceal their motives which I feel like aligns with Chris perfectly.
Colby Brock Siren
Tumblr media
Originally, I had Sam and Colby switched but the more I thought about it, I realised a Siren fits Colby perfectly. Sirens are known to be creatures of the sea that lure sailors to their deaths in the water but it’s also believed the symbolism of Sirens are lust and the dangers of temptation. Colby is known to kinda mess with his fans and leave rumours not talked about regarding women in his life which I feel aligns with the allure of a Siren. Also, he’s hot so ofc he can lure women in, ya know.
Sam Golbach Dragon
Tumblr media
Last but not least by any means, I feel as though Sam would be a dragon. In religions such as Christianity, dragons are a symbol of evil. However, they can also symbolise supernatural power, wisdom, strength and hidden knowledge. In a lot of cultures, dragons are also known for their ability to be untamed which I think describes Sam perfectly. He is someone who won’t let others dictate his life and he, similar to Nick, has a very powerful presence. I do think Sam and Colby’s could fit either of them, but this makes more sense to me personally.
a/n: lmk if u guys agree w this and also if you want a part 2 with other things (e.g. flowers, cinematic universes, rolls in different movie genres, etc) i’d be more than down because this was genuinely so fun!! also this idea came to me because i saw @muwapsturniolo ‘s half-blood posts so credit to them bc it gave me HUGE inspiration for this!!

kinktober 2022 masterlist | monstober 2022 masterlist
natasha romanoff x reader
18+ : breeding kink, strap use (r!receiving), talk of pregnancy and children ofc
Tumblr media
Natasha had been watching you fondly all day, running around the compound happily with Morgan, bounding around and playing with Billy and Tommy. The smile never left her face as you laughed childishly, playing silly tricks on the rest of the team and enjoying building Lego houses much more than the actual children did.
She didn’t think she could love you anymore than she already did but this was proven false with the way she saw the three children look at you in awe, hanging on every word you said when you explained an overly complicated plot of the pirate role play game you’d decided to initiate. And the exaggerated gargles you let out when you played dead at the stab of a foam sword to your chest made her laugh from where she sat, watching smilingly with Wanda beside her.
“You should tell her.” She whispered, eyeing the way the redhead's eyes never stopped sporting an admiring glint.
“Tell her what?”
“That you want this with her. It doesn’t take telepathy to know what you’re thinking - the two of you would be great. Just look at her, she’d be the leader of the group.” She laughed, pointing towards where the four of you had your eyes glued to the animated movie on the tv screen as spoons of ice cream lifted to your mouths.
“God she’s an idiot. I love her but she’s an idiot.” Natasha chuckled.
She watched behind her in the mirror as you readied yourself for bed, pulling a t-shirt over your underwear clad body before flopping onto the mattress with a sigh.
“Tired after your play date?” Natasha questioned with a smirk, heading over to perch on the edge of the bed.
“Yes, too much fun.” You pouted with a nod, leaning into the soft touch she brushed against your cheek.
“You’re great with them. You’d be a good mom.”
“You think?”
“Yeah. I mean, if you’d want that obviously but I dunno if that's something you-“
“Nat, calm down.” You interrupted her with a laugh. “If this is your way of asking if I want to start a family with you, the answer is yes. Obviously.”
“You do?” She beamed, pressing her lips to yours in her excitement as she grinned against your mouth. “You’d look so good pregnant.” She mused with her lips softly ghosting over your neck and her hand stroking over your belly beneath your shirt.
“You think so?”
“Mhm.” Her voice held that seductive rasp you know so well and her hand palmed at your breast before she ripped your shirt over your head hungrily. You felt the hum of her voice against the skin of your chest as she spoke with her body straddling yours. “You’d look fucking perfect with your belly swollen and full, carrying my baby.”
She swirled her tongue around your pert nipple with a graze of her teeth, kissing a path down your torso to your stomach.
“God, what i wouldn’t do to be able to fuck a baby into you right now. Just fill you up and breed you, make you truly mine.” She breathed with a ghost of a kiss over your clothed cunt. “Just me talking about it is turning you on, hm? Want me to try?”
“Yes, Nat, please. Let’s make a fucking baby.” You both laughed slightly against each other's lips and she made quick work of pulling the underwear from your body before hopping off the bed to pull her strap around her hips.
The tip of her cock brushed against your hole teasingly when she kissed you again, dancing her tongue with yours with possessive bites of her teeth into your bottom lip.
“You want my cock, baby? Want me to fill you up, yeah?” She rasped with a suck to your neck beneath your ear; she eased the thick strap into you at the nod you responded with, slowly pushing each and every inch into your pussy until she bottomed out.
She savoured every sigh of breath you let out with slow rocks of her hips, picking up her pace with perfect accuracy hitting your sweet spot in a practised way. She held her body up with a firm grip on your hips with her nails digging into the flesh, bound to leave marks behind as she pounded into you, watching your breasts bounce while the skin of your knuckles grew taut with your grip on the sheets beneath you.
Natasha looked down with dark, hooded eyes, a soft pink flush to her cheeks and stray hairs falling over her face; the sight only made your belly twinge more with your cunt clenching around her. The way her teeth sunk into her plump lip made her own arousal clear, the strap hitting her clit with each snap of her hips making her actions grow sloppy and stuttered.
“My little breeding bitch, aren’t you sweetheart?” She breathed out through heavy breaths, leaning down to push her lips to yours with bare chests pressed together. Her hot forehead leant against yours as her hands held onto yours, fingers entwined in a soft act of love and possession. “I just wanna fill you with my cum until you’re dripping and my baby’s growing inside of you.”
“Fuck, Nat, ‘m gonna cum.” You choked out with your breath hot against her lips and hers against yours.
“Me too, baby. Cum with me.”
Your hands squeezed hers with the wave of pleasure that crashed over your body and her skin littered with goosebumps at the choked moan that tumbled from your throat beside her ear with her own orgasm washing over her just moments later. The sound of sloppy kisses filled the room whilst you rode through your highs, sporadic snaps of her hips into yours with your free hand tangled in her hair whilst she kept a loving hold on the other.
“You’re in for a long night, sweetheart, I’m not gonna stop until we succeed.” She teased with a grin, stroking her thumb over your heated cheek before claiming your lips again.

Yo yo I’m obsessed with chishiya even more than I already was now season 2 is out. Could you pretty please do a fic freader and chishiya where reader doesn’t understand why his cold and argues to him about him having no emotions/ hating people. Reader says something hurtful and chishiya actually reacts to it (sees hurt in his eyes, he walks away or something). So reader feels guilty and goes to find him. Turns out his crying because whatever reader said reminded him for his mistreatment as a kid (his father neglecting him) and he trusted reader thinking they wouldn’t hurt him. So he opens up to reader about his past and how it hurt him reader thinks of him that way because he does have emotions and likes her. Like really fluffy ending maybe.🥺
yeah i'm obsessed with him too. and ofc i can, i will try my best. may be a little shorter than usual, though. feedback is always very much appreciated!
In the time you were in this insane world, you liked to think you and Chishiya were akin to friends. Sure, he wasn't too touchy feely with you, but he didn't share the same disdain he did with most people, either. You stuck by him and Kuina, and eventually, Arisu and Usagi, but still it seemed like he kept everyone at arms length, and hurtfully, even you.
You wore your heart on your sleeve when it came to Chishiya. Sure, he was a bit cryptic and cunning, but he wouldn't betray you. That's what you thought, but every time you were in a game with him and saw how unfazed the amount of death and betrayal had him, you started to second guess. And it all came to a boil after a hearts game.
"Chishiya! Chishiya, wait!", you ran after him, catching up in time to see him lift a hand to put his hoodie down and shove it back in his pocket. He looked at you expectantly, eyebrows raised and eyes neutral. "What was that all about?"
"What?", he said in a way that told you he definitely knew what you were talking about. He always knew that the games messed you up, especially from the hearts variety. To be honest, he was wondering how long would it take for you to call him out.
"What do you mean what? The kid! In the game, what was that about?", you said. There was a kid. Not little, but definitely not an adult either. Judging by his looks, uniform and the way he was nearly pissing himself, he was 17 at best.
"In the end there were only me, you, the kid and the other man. I knew it wasn't me and I would be able to tell if it were you. Or you'd tell me, either way. It was one of the two, simple", he said, as if he was merely saying that two plus two equals four.
"And so your brilliant idea was to trick them into killing each other?", you raised your voice, the fresh memory of blood spattered everywhere making you sick again.
"There were only five minutes left. If I picked one of the two, it would be fifty-fifty. If they both died, there would be no risk at all", he said, with a self satisfied smirk, as if he managed to solve a very complicated puzzle. Even though he did, he killed an innocent person in the process.
"Fifty-fifty?! The kid wasn't the impostor, he was terrified! He could barely make eye contact with people and you really think he'd be able to kill someone? A bunch of people as an imposter in a game? Are you serious?", you were livid. That kid looked so young and so scared, he still had a whole life to live. And although it was the game masters' fault for bringing you all into this, Chishiya had partook in this system flawlessly.
"We couldn't be sure of either. People can pretend, no matter how young", he said, remaining nonchalant.
"Like you?", you mumbled, and as Chishiya made a confused sound in the back of his throat, you repeated yourself. "Like you? If it were fifty-fifty with Usagi or Arisu or Kuina or even me! Would you still do what you did?", Chishiya remained silent. "I... I thought you weren't like that. That you wouldn't kill people if you didn't have to. I feel so stupid. I would have trusted you with my life! And then what? What would happen to me?", you were fully crying tears of frustration. "You're awful. You can only think of yourself".
You can only think of yourself. And suddenly Chishiya was a child again, interrupting a very important meeting to ask for a hug. He looked infuriated, and took a deep breath as if to say something, but then just deflated until he looked absolutely heartbroken before fixing his hoodie and walking away without saying a word. You instantly regretted saying that.
-
It hadn't been long at all. Couple of hours, tops. But in that world, a couple of hours felt a lot longer. Too much time alone with your thoughts. You wondered if that's why so many people went insane, you sure felt like you were going insane, seeing Chishiya's heartbroken face with each blink of your eyes.
You were truly sorry. You should be used to all the death at that point, shouldn't let it get to you as much as it did. But every death was a constant reminder that it could happen to you, to your friends. To Chishiya himself. The thought of that made you physically recoil. And as your mind replayed the thought of him dying with his heart broken because of you until you were at the verge of hitting your head on the wall until you passed out, you decided to go find him.
-
And you did. It was a bit harder than usual, but you managed to find him with his hoodie up and his knees to his chest, back against the wall of a narrow hallway.
He lifted his head to look at you, and you silently sat by his side, the sides of your knees touching each other, and your back to the wall opposite to him.
His eyes weren't red or puffy, but you knew he had shed some stray tears because of the dried tear tracks on his cheeks.
"Hi", you said, awkwardly. He, understandably, said nothing. "I'm very sorry about what I said. It was inappropriate and just a flat out lie", you said, resting your hand over top his, and since he didn't pull away, you thought it was a good sign.
"I'm not pretending", his voice was low, seemingly reverberating off the walls of the confined space.
"Ah, but that's not true, is it, Chishiya? I barely know anything about you", you said, calmly. Your voice was like warm balm to him, nothing like what it had been earlier.
"Lying and omitting are two different things. We protect ourselves in the way we can afford to. It works for me", he said. Cold as ever, not emotional anymore. But it felt like that wall wasn't there anymore. It wasn't forced. He wasn't hiding. Being as stoic as ever, Chishiya was holding his chest open to you.
"I know. I'm sorry", you said, hanging your head, scolding yourself, and Chishiya took a deep breath. Not like the one earlier. It was like the one you take when you're in a stuffy room for too long and finally manages to go outside for fresh air.
"Don't be. Not for not knowing. There was no way of you knowing, after all", he seemed less upset, which was good. Your eyes looked at your hand resting over his, suddenly frowning.
"I don't know anything about you", you said, decidedly and unhappy like a child that stomps their feet on the floor and says "But I want it!" after being told no, and Chishiya sighed. He was trying his best with being vulnerable and he thought you'd understand. But before he could say anything, you interjected. "But I want to know. Everything", you smiled and him and, surprisingly, he gave you a small smile back.
"Where should I start?", he said, turning his palm to intertwine his fingers with yours, his eyes connected to yours.
"At the beginning, but slow and steady. When you're ready. We're starting over", you squeezed his hand and you knew then you'd never be able to let go. Chishiya told you how he felt for you that night.

"Itachi was a good brother"
"He did nothing wrong"
Sigh
CW: Entirely unorganized, I had thoughts to express and no order in which to do so.
What are some of y'all on? Respectfully, what are some of you guys talking about? Why is this even a debate? Some hardcore Itachi stans need to get their eyesight checked 😭
There are ways to acknowledge a character's tragedy, their impossible situation, the excruciating circumstances they're under, without justifying genocide and inhumane torture.
Itachi was a tool. Thoroughly manipulated by everyone, and exposed to horrifyingly gruesome sights at a young age. He was a tool, which did Konoha's bidding, followed instructions to a T. And yes, the stuff that he's done will forever haunt him. He possibly hasn't known a moment of true peace or happiness in his life. All very tragic.
That said, he still. Well, sucks. And fucked up badly. You can feel sympathy for him –you probably should– and I do too. But the fact that he didn't regret it makes me side eye him.
His clan was planning a revolution, because they were all alienated, discriminated against, victims of unbelievable prejudice and racism based on a bunch of nonsensical bullshit (fuck Konoha btw)
So naturally, when the government mysteriously found out, he was ordered to slaughter all his people –including pregnant women and little kids– mercilessly. And naturally, he did as they asked.
But he couldn't kill his little brother, because apparently "Konoha's orders were not more important than your life, Sasuke, doesn't he love you so much".
So instead of killing him, he makes him relive the massacre of his family a cool 500k times, then sets him up for a lifetime of hatred, pain, anger, bitterness, survivor's guilt and loneliness.
Manipulates Sasuke's worldview, makes him believe that in order to achieve his goal of killing him (something that Itachi set him up for as well btw), he needs to be entirely isolated without any sort of connection to other people. Shows up 5 years later, traumatizes Sasuke some more, tells him he needs to kill his best friend. Yk, all the stuff a good older brother does.
Then some years later Sasuke manages to kill him, just as Itachi wanted, and Itachi ofc pokes him on the forehead, even in death keeping his distance from Sasuke without ever clarifying what it means.
Isn't he just the loveliest?
He's a tragic character with an abundance of issues, who absolutely fucked Sasuke's life entirely, and no matter how much you kick your feet and scream, he's not a good older brother.
"But he loved Sasuke so much"
I'm sure he did; at least in a twisted sort of way. But holy shit, this might blow your mind to smithereens, just because you love someone doesn't mean you love them right, that you're good for them, or did good to them.
Itachi loved Sasuke, but he sure as fucking shit did not love him right, was not good for him, nor did good to him.
"But Itachi was so guilty, it's not like he was having fun when doing all this, he'll forever be traumatized by what he did"
This shouldn't even be up for debate. Feelings, intentions and actions are not of equal importance. The impact of an action you took is more important than your intentions and/or your feelings regarding that action. One is tangible and affects others, the other is internalized and all you.
Itachi's situation was complicated, and there was no realistic outcome where everyone is happy. He was cornered, more or less.
So he held his head down and did as he was told.
Regardless of how he felt about it before, during and afterwards, despite his intentions and reasoning for what he did to both his clan and Sasuke, despite the guilt he feels, it doesn't change the cold, hard reality of the negative impact he had on his little brother and his family's name. Sure, intentions/feelings/reasoning plays a role in feeling sympathy for him, but you gotta hold him fucking accountable for the atrocities he committed.
You could say that he did it for peace, because the revolution would've been bloody, that Konoha had to do what it did to avoid countless deaths, or whatever bullshit arguments y'all want to make. It's inconceivable to me how you can't even hear the wrong in those statements.
Konoha did not do it for peace, there was NOTHING peaceful about any of it, no justification for it. If you think genocide is the only solution to a rebellion that hasn't even been executed yet, then I guess y'all's mindsets are way too fucked up and you should look into it. Konoha most certainly used this coup as an excuse to rid itself of the thorn that were the Uchihas. Because you know what ended up happening?
Konoha, the very government who orchestrated this, ended up then writing Itachi off as living proof of "the curse of hatred", as someone who went insane because of the clan's innate ugliness, that damned, forsaken curse that no wretched member of that family can shake off. Entirely shoved this disgusting, fucked up situation under the mat.
In the end, when it's time to write the history books, Itachi and the Uchiha clan will be registered as vile creatures who were full of hatred and that's how they'll be remembered. No justice was served for them, and that is heartbreaking.
___________________________________________
TL;DR
Moral of the story: Konoha sucks, Itachi was not a good brother and did a lot of things wrong, and the Uchiha clan is a forever misunderstood tragedy.
Bonus: fuck Tobirama "curse of nonexistent wiener" Senju
___________________________________________
To clarify something:
I am not one of those haters who sit on their moral high horse, point fingers and go "They're such a horrible person, I would never do such a thing. Look at me, the angelic good person, I can't even fathom how someone could do this". Shut up, you're annoying, and what you're saying makes no sense, because you quite frankly can't know what you'd do if you were in that character's shoes, and moreover, it doesn't even matter because it's, guess what, not about you. Quit judging how much of a "scumbag" a character is based on your morality without showing any sort of empathy or understanding of a situation.
You can't relate in the slightest (which is good in this case, I wish nobody ever relates to Itachi's situation), therefore your judgement and morals are irrelevant
Specifically talking about Itachi, I don't can't know if I would've done what he did, because I'm 120% disconnected from the circumstances and laws of his reality. If I were in his shoes and in his universe, I would be an entirely different person with different ideals. Same goes for you.
All this being said, I personally feel iffy about Itachi. I have sympathy for him, but I still think he has objectively fucked up very, very badly.
Plus, I am a Sasuke defender to my core and from a purely pro-sasuke standpoint, he annoys me.
I think I rambled a bit off topic at some point, this is a mess

Here's the Ben whump rant i talked abt in my last post,,,
Ofc heed the triggers and what not: Blood, injury, ect ect
Also take everything here with a serious handful of salt, im being dramatic as heck. So if you don't wanna see me get serious abt something that's not that deep, this probably isn't the rant for you <3
Anywho...
Do you ever think about just how often Ben gets the absolute crap beat out of him? Like in Grudge Match, I forgot how many times he gets flung about in his human form. He's ten years old, his bones are way too weak for all that. The amount of head injuries he must get is insane, and Max never once seems to take Ben's injuries seriously.
Like that time Ben gets sick after sitting in the back of an ice cream van for like,, twenty minutes. He's ill to the point it's actively inhibiting his ability to play hero, blinding wildmutt with gunked up sensors and taking the heat out of heatblast. He's pale and sniffly and looks like shit, but Max still makes the executive decision to drag him out on errands instead of giving him time to rest.
Also just cause he takes the majority of damage in his alien forms doesn’t mean those injuries suddenly have no impact at all. I think in alien force they were toying with idea of his injuries carrying over becoming more of a problem for him, with his busted knee in season one, and black eye in the episode where he gets grounded. Either way, it’s still implied that wounds translate over after he de-transforms, even if to a lesser extent. Not to mention all the scrapes and little injuries he must get from de-transforming mid battle (on the occasions he does).
FUCK, I mean Ben actually displays short term memory loss as a direct result of getting hit in the head in alien force, and Gwen isn't concerned about it probably because she grew up with Grandpa Max not being concerned about it. She doesn't realise just how dangerous this level of head injury is, what the brain inflammation and possible bleeding could do to him. She's probably looked him in the eyes, with his pupils blown wide, dazed and confused about his whereabouts, and then buried her concern because it's nothing new right? Ben's been dealing with stuff like this since he was 10, and Max, the ever responsible adult, never shows the appropriate amount of concern for it, so it makes sense that both Gwen and Ben don’t consider these things serious until its too late.
Like not to get all dramatic about this and over think it (more so than I already am lol) but I’m positive this stuff would have long term consequences for Ben’s health as he enters adult hood, or even before then. Trouble recalling things, ringing in his ears, migraines and headaches as well a light sensitivity, all of these are symptoms of repeated and serious head trauma. Not to mention, paired with my personal headcanons about the burning chemical sensation of having the omnitrix fused to his flesh, leaking fluid into his bloodstream and scorching his skin. Or the chronic nosebleeds I think he would have as a result of all these other health complications. There's just a LOT that can be done with Ben whump, and I’m surprised it isn’t talked about/thought about more?
Folks love the idea of Ben being functionally immortal (at least from injury related death), and the power fantasy that comes with being the weilder of the omnitrix, but what about the fact that he’s just some guy?? That the omnitrix failsafe doesn’t protect him from everything, and that if the injuries are bad enough to have triggered the failsafe in the first place, then where does that leave him in terms of recovering from them??? Sorry, sorry, crazy moment.

A thought I have been idly turning over is that the argument can be made - and made pretty compellingly imo - in both directions that the changes from Cassian’s sketchy offscreen backstory in R1 to that presented in Andor serve to portray him as a more/less uncomplicatedly sympathetic hero and/or victim of imperial violence.
On the one hand “traumatized refugee orphan turned hustler, saddled with a juvenile record and nursing a self-protective apathy approach to politics, radicalized by the proverbial straw(s) that broke the camel’s back after a lifetime of survival in a system that wants to kill him” clearly complicates the narrative from “I’ve been in this fight since I was six years old.” And quite frankly, hard NOT to complicate the narrative when you’ve got an entire TV series to stretch your narrative legs in vs a single film with an ensemble cast. I don’t think it’s entirely fair to suggest that a story which has vastly more space to expand on an idea necessarily has smarter things to say so much as more space in which to say them - but I do respect the commitment to complication and interrogation, nonetheless.
On the other hand the implication of R1 - made extremely albeit briefly explicit in the offscreen references to, and I quote, Outer Rim “anarchist movements” and children “tossing rocks and bottles at Republic walkers” (no further comment at this time but like…oof) - is not, imo, a less thoughtful or complicated or potentially subversive story. Some of the complexities certainly lie in different places! But I don’t even think that such questions as “Does a slightly-selfish-on-the-surface grifter ask more from the audience than a dedicated idealist?” are as straightforward as they initially appear, within the broader context of a media landscape that is frequently far more comfortable lauding revolutionary action as a variation on a revenge plot (Everyman Hero just wanted to keep his head down and live his life until Evil Empire killed his girlfriend/family/best pal/etc etc) than as a natural outgrowth of ideological conviction (which is for Scary Radicals*). I also continue to find it UNBELIEVABLY tantalizing that R1!Cassian was explicitly described as, if not a Separatist himself (hard to describe a six year old that way or know how he would describe himself as an adult!), then unquestionably part of that ideological lineage, in that Star Wars as a franchise has never been willing to give more than halfhearted lip service to the idea of Separatists as anything but cartoonishly over the top villains - or, by extension, to the idea that the Republic was the Anakin Skywalker to the Empire’s Darth Vader. Even in highly abridged form, that’s a backstory that’s begging a lot of pointed and fascinating questions (What are the political fault lines within the Rebel Alliance? What does it mean that this franchise’s treatment of the Clone Wars has frequently boiled down to glibly setting up and knocking down arguments about Third World sovereignty and resource extraction? Can you as the audience imagine a political movement that contains both incredibly corrupt bad actors and grassroots liberation movements under the same broad ideological umbrella?)
ANYWAY TL;DR I think there’s a lot that’s spiky and unstraightforward and potentially subversive about both of those backstories, and I don’t think you need to dismiss the complexities of either in order to appreciate the other.
*I am OFC not saying that Andor doesn’t engage with ideological conviction, because it does! I am merely pointing out that - outside the audience demographic of broadly left-leaning people on tumble - a loveable rogue who wants to stay out of politics and survive does not necessarily read as less likable or morally upright than a revolutionary who’s fully prepared to Die For The Cause.

Episode 61 BSD spoilers ofc xoxo
I know a lot of people are upset at Fyodor's death this episode, but can we all just remember that this was probably one of the better options that could have happened of all the options?
I always knew that Fyodor would die - it was just a definite thing I had in my head. He couldn't stay alive like Fitzgerald, that's not the way his character is. He's too much of a danger to everyone else when he's alive. I thought this was a pretty great ending to his life, it's not perfect but it is? I don't know. Something about burning in the flames and succumbing to them in the vehicle you were supposed to escape in after being fooled by a cheap party trick.
For all the people saying "But Fyodor's the smartest character in BSD! How could he be fooled by Chuuya just pretending to be a vampire?"
May I remind you of the fact that Fukuchi fooled Ranpo? You know, the one who's known for never being wrong and solving things like this constantly? Because even when Mushitarou used his ability, the same ability that has hidden thousands and thousands of esteemed criminals with deplorable crimes to their name, and not one person has been able to find them, Ranpo was still able to solve it with only a few clues.
Yet due to his unwavering trust and faith in Fukuzawa, that led to him being completely oblivious to Fukuchi being Kamui. He didn't think that he'd need to look beneath the surface level, because Fukuzawa trusts him so much. He never thought that he'd need to look any further.
The same goes for Fyodor and Chuuya.
Fyodor isn't the smartest character in the series, nor is he meant to be! He's simply just one of the smartest. He can still be outwitted by the rest. Not everyone can win everything every single time. Eventually, no matter how good you are at chess, someone else will beat you.
Anyways lol.
We don't even know how Fyodor got Chuuya to Meursault, or how he had proof that he'd turned him into a vampire. Of course, it will all be revealed soon, but disregarding that for a second.
Chuuya has broken into Meursault after Fyodor tells him to, mowing down all the guards and killing them all and saving Fyodor's ass from getting shot or being thrown back into jail. It all adds up in Fyodor's head so far. Chuuya says nothing, only growls, hisses, and screams. Typical vampire. (Other than his weird yowl LMAOOO)
Nothing is fishy to Fyodor yet. Chuuya is helping him and doing as he says. Then, they both get almost drowned by Dazai. Again, this is all pointing to the fact that he is not on Dazai's side if Dazai is actively putting him in his plans to kill Fyodor too.
Fyodor assumes that their bond is shallow and fragile, easily breakable if he presses down hard enough and severs the knot, which is what hes trying to do. He teases Dazai because, in his head, it's a one-sided relationship in SKK.
Fyodor doesn't understand human emotions well. He sees people as pawns and is not afraid to use them to get what he wants. But he is different from Dazai in the way he thinks about them. He dislikes humans; he thinks they're sinful and boring and a waste of his time, whereas Dazai thinks humans are fascinating and complicated and wonderful. Fyodor does not see the appeal. Which is what separates him from Dazai. Fyodor uses the people around him until he has no use for them anymore, tossing them aside. He has no regard for their feelings, and anyone he associates with he automatically tries to see what he can get from them and what he can do with them. Dazai does not. Dazai uses people as a means to help the Agency, or to save someone else, or to get information on how to not let the fucking world end, and the character development is wild.
Dazai used to be much more like Fyodor than he is now. He was cold, ruthless, and heartless back then. Whilst Dazai still sees no point in living and wishes to die, and he sees no point in anything, he has still grown more compassionate and a lot more self-aware and he has become capable of more emotion and wanting to save people thanks to Oda. Yes, he still doesn't really care about much, but he genuinely does care about those closest to him and saving and protecting them.
That is why Fyodor couldn't understand - he didn't know just how much trust Soukoku had between each other. He underestimated the bond between them. How much they rely on each other, and always have, for seven years. He thought he had Chuuya under his thumb this entire time, but Chuuya had bested him and tricked him.
This also just goes to show Chuuya's intelligence that a lot of people seem to forget. This type of shit will come easy to Chuuya - he's a Mafia executive for a reason, God damn it. He can lie, he can manipulate, he can be sly and cunning and discreet and careful. He's not a fool, he knows how dire this situation is. And so of course he's going to put his all into a completely fool-proof performance. He literally fooled us, and we're the ones shouting at Dostoevsky for underestimating Soukoku's bond.
But see? This is precisely why this was a suitable "death" for him. (I'm only saying "death" in quotes because you never fucking know with this series.)
Burned in the flames of hellfire as he perishes with the thought that he was completely beaten.
I made a post a while ago about how Fyodor's downfall was going to be how he thought he was too untouchable, how everything is simply but a trial for him and how he is the messenger of God, forcing his will onto other people and just spreading what is God's plan to wipe the world of sinners. How cocky he gets in his own way about his intelligence. How he underestimates, undermines and belittles the people around him because he genuinely thinks that they're worth nothing more than a pebble on the ground to him. He has no empathy or compassion that we've seen so far. He tricked Sigma and stabbed him with absolutely no remorse despite them being in the DOA together. Nikolai was happy to see him out of prison, and he pretty much just blanked him and went straight to the topic at hand, despite apparently having all the time in the world to kill (not really he needed the antidote not to die tbf lol). His downfall was the very thing that sets him apart from the others and typically gives him the upper hand - lack of regret, compassion or empathy or remorse. He was prepared to (and did!) kill children. He lobotomized two people. He manipulates everyone.
I really don't think that Fyodor's story is over at all, but I do think he's actually dead. Maybe not though. As I said, you never fucking know with this series.
Anyways. My point in this post was the fact that whilst we're all upset about his death (well, not all?), it was suitable. You can't complain about BSD not having the balls to kill off any characters, and then when it does, complain that a character has died. Or that "Well, it should have been somebody in the Agency." And what logic would that bring to the table? What would an Agency member dying accomplish? Atsushi is the protagonist, so he's off the table. Things would be very fucked up if Yosano died because then none of them could survive the shit they get themselves into. We don't know enough of Kunikida's history for him to go, plus he's the next leader of the ADA, plus his story is not finished, plus it wouldn't give us anything but grief if he was to die. If Ranpo died, that would also be a big no no, because it would only possibly send Fukuzawa into some sort of corruption arc, and it would crumble the foundations of the Agency, considering he and Fukuzawa are the two founders and he was the first member, and the Agency was made for him. Kenji, I don't see any point in killing our guy off. Leave him alone <3 Kyouka, maybe. She seems, I guess, slightly reasonable. Give Atsushi something more to fight for. Give him reasons to go feral, give him something to be absolutely fucking distraught about. But after that... then what? What would her death bring but grievances to Atsushi? Tanizaki, also no point in killing him off. They'd lose a valuable ability that could get them out of so much shit, Asagiri wouldn't kill him off like that, especially when we hardly know anything about him.
And for people saying "Dazai should have died instead."
That would be really fucking unreasonable - we still have far too many unanswered questions and loose ends. Atsushi would lose his mentor and obviously not handle it well. What about Akutagawa? Kunikida? Chuuya?
Dazai is such an integral part of BSD and an integral part of Atsushi's life - my one hope whilst waiting for the newest episode was that Asagiri wouldn't kill Dazai because there was no logical reasoning behind it. Yes, it would cause some great angst, but if he died, it would have actually just been the turning point for this conflict to get worse. Fyodor would have escaped, and then what? The world would have been wiped, because I guarantee you even if that wasn't Fukuchi's plan, it sure as hell was Fyodor's and he gets what he wants. If Dazai had actually genuinely died, what happens to Chuuya who has to look at his partner's lifeless body in front of him and is like "I did that." If he was a vampire through this and came back when Aya pulled the sword out, imagine what the fuck would have happened when he saw what he'd done. We all remember him going absolutely fucking feral and off the rails in Beast, and he hadn't even killed him there. Chuuya comes to, looks at the gun in his hand, looks at the dead partner of 7 years in front of him bleeding out. My safest bet is that he'd use corruption. But, Dazai is dead. He can't nullify it. Fyodor is escaping on the helicopter. Sigma is still in that room unconscious. Nikolai is doing God knows what he can teleport and shit. Chuuya unleashes corruption, destroys himself and the building, and Fyodor is far away and so is Nikolai, and Sigma is caught in this wreck. That's three important characters all killed in one swoop, whilst the "bad guy" escapes and is free to enact his plan without them hindering it.
?!
I'd rather not see that ending of BSD I can't lie to you <3 (However, I do want an angsty SKK scene of Chuuya going batshit insane at realising what he's done whilst he's been controlled and used as a puppet which is fucking awful for him... maybe I would like to see a little snippet of what this world would be like. Anyways.)
Sorry this got SO off-topic.
MY POINT BEING FYODOR'S DEATH WAS ALWAYS GOING TO HAPPEN.
TL;DR: Fyodor's death was always going to happen. It was inevitable.
He's been likened to Jesus so much throughout this series. He's a messenger of God and God puts him through so much suffering, and so many trials, and he sees it all as a simple test that he'll be sure to overcome. He's so blinded by his faith and his Jesus Complex that he can't see where he goes wrong or where he has failed because he's so sure that he can win and doesn't understand human emotions and underestimates everyone around him therefore leading to his demise and being fooled by Soukoku, who he doesn't understand the bond between because he doesn't look beneath the surface of anything intwined with complex emotions.
An angsty outlook would be that Fyodor may be scared of emotions because he doesn't feel them, and therefore takes the approach of "what you don't know can hurt you" and he's afraid of what he doesn't know, much like Dazai. But hey that's just my brain wanting to be scratched and itched the right way and making all my favourite characters tragic.
ANYWAYS goddamn this was so long-winded to just say that.
I hope everyone has a lovely day/night <3

I’ve always been curious about Obikin, because it never felt right to me, but it isn’t exactly a pro-ship? I can never really tell. On one hand there’s the “you were my brother Anakin” on the other theres the headcanons. I just wanna know what the appeal is from someone who ships them. /gen
i’m not the best person to answer this bc i really don’t care at all if a ship is problematic or proshipper or whatever lol, i mean the first thing i did after watching the kenobi show was to look out for art and fics of vader nonconning obi-wan 🤪 and even if anakin and obiwan were siblings (which they aren’t let’s be real) i’m all for the dead dove ngl!! also it’s fiction… have a little more fun cuz this shouldn’t be that different than playing with our barbies when we were 4 and making them kill each other or have orgies together lol
but to answer your question, first i found their cat-and-mouse dynamic in kenobi really hot. vader obsessing diligently on his old master who he claims he doesn’t care about anymore was crazy. however, i think obikin is a beautifully complicated relationship. it’s canon that both anakin and obi-wan’s entire relationship is built on duality: master and apprentice, dark and light, love and hate, two halves of the same coin. this is some soulmatism shit that i fuck with and i was never into the whole soulmates tbh. i also think obi-wan is a heavily repressed man in terms of love and attachments and following the code to the core, and ofc struggles with his love for anakin: he cannot control him in any way for the force against humanity that anakin is (he’s such a momboy) plus he had the chance to kill him a couple of times and yet he couldn’t bring himself to do it and finally free him from the misery of being darth vader, bc of his love for him. he even spent his life in exile and probably didn’t kill himself just for the sake of anakin’s children. it’s not a coincidence that he decided to finally die and join the force when luke and leia were reunited and he guaranteed their safety
and then you have anakin who is anything but someone who subdues his feelings: he thrives for love, love is was fuels him and the reason he Fell on the first place, he pushes and pushes like the way he did to get padme to love him. i simply love how their own approach to love complements each other so well and i cannot get enough of it, bc at the end of the day they are both each other’s most important person. like look at this extract of this novel where anakin finally joins the force after ROTJ and how obi-wan has his own whole sentence from the other ones (even from padme!!!! or shmi!!!!)

idk man i just love them so much

so if you donate to palestinian with fundraisers, you're actually doing more than me and aren't evil, why does everyone tell me you're mean and hate them?
easy answer: antisemitism babyyy
long, complicated answer: israeli people are very demonised, and we’re constantly held accountable for our terrible government’s horrid actions. let me be loud and clear on this: I am not my government, nor do I like it in the slightest or support them.
when people learn im israeli (or god forbid a zionist !!), they immediately assume that a) I have 0 regard for palestinian people or their lives, and gleefully cheer their deaths on (yea, people actually said that to me), and b) that I am either complacent or fully in support of what’s going on in gaza (usually on the account of me enlisting soon).
both those assumptions are wrong (and antisemitic) ofc, but most people have no way of knowing what actually happens here. the media circus around i/p is such a shitshow, it’s barely legible even to people who live this conflict on a daily basis - much less westerners who couldn’t be less removed from it.
I don’t blame most people for not being educated on what’s going on here, it’s really tough navigating the misinformation and hate from both sides. I just wish people wouldn’t jump to conclusions like it’s an olympic sport :3
tl;dr is basically that it’s easy to hate a group of people and generalise them, and the fact that people don’t bother fact checking a lot of stuff around i/p only helps fuel the antisemitic fire :,)

tbh you're losing me just made me feel sorry for both but also very empathetic toward joe. and this is coming from someone whose last relationship ended a lot like this and someone who was taylor in that relationship. back then i was just so hurt but over time i learned i also played a part in it ending and did things i shouldn't have. it sucks but truth is that they just weren't suited for each other anymore. and ik people will try and make this about how joe sucks and couldn't put in the effort but it's so much more complicated than that. from the lyrics taylor did what i did in my relationship and didn't really communicate. she sent signals, and kept waiting for him to see was "dying" and then was upset when he didn't see and didn't do anything to stop it. but at the same time this means joe actually didn't know she was hurting. he didn't notice and she didn't tell him and if at one point she did it ended up being a "i don't understand / i know you don't " type of conversation and if he just doesn't understand then there's not much to be done even if he wanted to do something. he can't pretend to understand to please her. seems like he genuinely thought they were okay where they were (maybe even because of taylor's people pleasing tendencies) and she just couldn't take it anymore and he didn't understand what was wrong or why she felt that way. i think that first break up news said everything it had to say. they worked when they were in a bubble but not outside of it. joe never really knew her and thought they were okay the way they were and taylor couldn't see a future together. again it sucks because it seems their very foundation is what tore them apart. taylor Trying all the time while pretending that's not the case and joe not wanting anything for her other than to just be together. the difference is back then he saw through her and they were able to make it work through miscommunication but apparently not anymore. and this could be for so many reasons. maybe his own anxiety/depression got in the way, maybe they both just changed and grew apart. maybe he did grow tired of some of her antics when he's a lot more chill and just didn't understand why she had to try so hard all the time and wanted everyone to do the same. i'm not trying to say taylor is hard to love bc that's not true at all but we all know how much she wants someone to choose her and look only at her and we have proof of the ways she'd make sure to get that (telling you to leave me just to try and scare you / im a mirroball / picking fights in afterglow and the great war).... maybe it got tiring and he just stopped keeping an eye out for The Signs and didn't even realize it... i don't thing either of them are the bad guy here. that said i hate how everyone is already like "she was there for him through everything and he couldn't even be there for her" when we know he WAS there for her a lot in the past. plus yeah "ik my pain is an imposition" hurts but we also have taylor saying "is it insensitive to say get your shit together so i can love you" and "if I would have known how sharp the pieces were you'd crumble into i might have let them lay".... like neither of them is perfect. just feels like they were both thought the other one would change and eventually be okay with things happening *their way* and ofc that just didn't happen. there was no cure.
Thank you so much for sending this thoughtful message, anon! The bottom line is really what you said: their foundation killed then. What worked so well in 2016-2017, what helped Taylor save herself, what made her think that he was the one… that was the same thing that tore them apart in the end.

17, for the ask game? 👀
*for svsss
[ there should be more of this type of fic/art ]
(funny as hell that this came right when i started to compose the previous answer btw)
Oh I have a LIST:
Binghe POV. There's simply. not. enough.
Sopping wet cat Bing-ge as previously mentioned
Whoever actually explores assault survivor Bing-ge in fic will have my entire soul fr fr
Literally anything that would capitalize on the conflict (lit analysis meaning) built into SQQ and LQG's relationship - that one of them treats it as a regular friendship and the other as an epic xianxia bromance (at the very least). I think it would be cool if LQG was given more role than just "a loyal guy with unrequited feelings" from time to time. And I would be especially interested in the iteration where LQG's feelings are entirely platonic and still this intense.
Less pressing than previous because I've actually seen a fic referencing it, but a similar situation in cucumber/plane friendship, where SQQ unquestioningly takes SQH as an ally based on their shared background, but SQH is actually. not at all more loyal to him than to anyone else? Like he'll help, but he'll also sell him out without suffering much guilty conscience too. I think it's a fun discrepancy!
Explore SY!SQQ projecting his older siblings feelings onto YQY. (In more detail than canon does, because this is literally. canon. I've been rereading and there are at least two lines referencing this in early chapters.)
Anything about the parallels between ZZL's loyalty to SQQ and SQQ's loyalty to LBH. I might write meta about this myself one day, but I wish someone else did, I'm lazy okay. The tldr is that in both relationships one person's loyalty hurts rather than helps the other, ultimately because they are trying to do what they think is right for the other without understanding them first.
Shen Yuan's family, esp in reverse transmigration or Bing-ge comes to modern world fics. This is clearly something that shaped SY's character a lot and I think you could get a lot of fun interaction out of it.
For fics that have both Shen Jiu and Shen Yuan without them being siblings: more SY being a bitch to the guy who was mean to his blorbo. Not necessarily for the entire fic, but I think shen vs. shen dynamic is vastly underrepresented, we gotta get onto that. (Also a bit of an aside, but I've seen the idea in fic that SJ is much more powerful than SY as a cultivator, and that... listen, while I agree that SJ would have the benefit of experience, I feel this kinda ignores the fact that SY fixed SQQ's damaged cultivation in several months - before being nerfed by Without a Cure for his efforts, ofc, but still, this implies some level of talent.)
Oh, and last but not least: fics that would explore Binghe's love for SQQ being complicated and not-unfaltering. I tried to imply that a bit in Transmigrator Time Traveler, but I would love a more direct look from someone with more love for angst than me, maybe.

what are your thoughts on the siblings' relationships between each other?
i think i've already talked about some of this in other posts but idk how detailed i went with them, so sorry if some of this sounds a bit repetitive
beware. hc heavy, like usual ! "[hc]" in places that aren't canon-compliant whatsoever 🫡
i think out of all three trios - the powerpuff girls, the rowdyruff boys, and the powerpunk girls - the puffs have the best support system for each other. it doesn't necessarily make them the closest, i actually hc that a lot of their differences gradually make it harder to get along over the years until certain character arcs help overcome obstacles that had impeded on their relationships with each other. in this regard, i also think the puffs are the group to experience the most change overall.
blossom and bubbles probably started out a lot closer during childhood because buttercup was at the height of her tomboy era (an era that never really ends, ofc !!) and they didn't have a lot of overlap in the activities they enjoyed doing. it's not necessarily a negative thing, either; their love and support for each other was a lot less complicated during childhood, and even if buttercup split off more frequently to hang out with her dudebros, bubbles and blossom still had a place for her when she came back.
however, because of how i think each of them grow up individually, it's actually bubbles who kind of splinters off from the group in their teen/young-adult years.
this is mostly because of how blossom and buttercup find their sense of selves more 'easily'. blossom becomes a steady, unmoving pillar of ice; she's still loving and compassionate, but she's generally sharper and colder in demeanor even when she's being sincere. blossom is also somebody who tries to be pragmatic and keep her cool, which is why buttercup and her butted heads a lot as kids; as an adult, she becomes almost… inaccessible for more emotional needs.
buttercup doesn't need blossom for emotional support. she never really has. imo she learned in her tween years how to self-manage, or which friends to choose to confide in: friends who weren't blossom. for the two of them, it's an understanding - blossom will always be there for whatever issues her sisters may have, but sometimes just sharing ice cream is better than trying to get blossom to give you a pep talk.
likewise, buttercup has her own things she sucks at helping people with. fitting in, making friends, dealing with loneliness… are some pretty big ones. she's never had a problem with confidence or approaching people - at least, not in the same way bubbles has.
which leaves bubbles without the supports she really needs. bubbles, who has the emotional depth and vastness of the ocean, who has always just wanted harmony and to be liked. for people to get along. sure, there are instances where she can turn to her sisters for help or advice or support, or even the professor, but none of them really connect with her after a certain stage in her life.
somewhere during adolescence, blossom and buttercup land with both feet on the ground, but bubbles is left adrift. her sisters know who they are, or who they aspire to be. they don't reshape themselves to suit other people, and yet, people still come to them.
the thing with kind, loving kids like bubbles is that sometimes they don't have the thicker skin to withstand how mean other kids can get in middle school, high school, college, etc. this isn't to say bubbles can't stand up for herself or doesn't know when to put her foot down - out of all of her sisters, i think she's the most stubborn and passionate when it comes to things she cares about.
it's just to say that the heroic reputation definitely got to her, when it didn't get to her sisters. so bubbles drifts away from them because she doesn't really know who she is, what she wants to be; she keeps changing and acting different. one week she's the soft-spoken neighbor, the next day she's a bright and energetic cheerleader, maybe next month she'll be an aspiring artist. she's trying to be whatever shape fits the mold of expectation and - at the time-frame i indulge a lot of my content in - it's not working out for her.
eventually the puffs will regain the closeness they had as kids. i just think they're the most prone to fluctuation; two sisters aren't prepared to be emotionally vulnerable, and one of them is too much so, and they all need to work on themselves before they can really work on relationships with other people. and that's a constant growth, which imo ultimately benefits them in the long run. but for now they're a little complicated.
that's not to say the ruffs aren't complicated, because they definitely are as well.
it's more to do with how they grew up than anything by nature. in my hc brick was kind of prized as the son with the most potential, and that snowballed into a lot of deluded lines of thinking that inevitably led to him being a problem-starter with an ego-feeding martyr complex.
not to put all the blame on brick for the dysfunction of he and his brothers, but he's certainly responsible for most of it. boomer's not exactly any help, though; it's him and brick who butt heads most often as children, and as they get older, things continue to worsen.
this is mostly because of brick's refusal to acknowledge when he's at fault, as well as his unwillingness to change in general. boomer's patience has always been relatively thin (perhaps a surprise to some [hc]) so it would only be a matter of time before brick makes him snap. that's an event that results in boomer rarely being home the same time brick is unless to sleep, driving the wedge between them even deeper.
where's butch in all of this ? well, he's the rope-toy that his brothers keep tugging back and forth between them. he's on brick's side, obv - no, he's on boomer's side ! so on and so on.
in reality, butch is just trying to keep things… civil, at the very least. ik a lot of fandom tends to hc butch as more hot-headed and argumentative, but i like the idea of him being somebody who seems like he's just going with the flow, while in reality having a lot more to do with the current state of social situations than people realize: as such, i think he tries to mediate for his brothers when he can.
secretly, butch is on boomer's 'side' most of the time. not that it's really his fault. brick isn't exactly the easiest to get along with and while butch rarely retaliates, that's not to say brick hasn't hurt him or his feelings before. as i said in this post - there is a lot that brick has to apologize for.
problems with brick aside, there's also the factor that i don't think he and boomer would've ever achieved absolute closeness anyways solely because of their personalities. brick is kind of a helicopter-friend, and i think that kind of approach (especially the more pressuring form that brick takes on sometimes) would really get on boomer's nerves. boomer's incredibly independent and seeks out company when he feels like it.
whereas, butch has always embodied more of a mellow presence suitable for most company. he's a shoulder to lean on, always has an ear to listen to somebody's troubles - it's how he can keep his relationship intact with both his brothers without a huge falling out. he tends to keep a lot of his personal troubles to himself (i enjoy him being the real martyr parallel to brick's martyr complex lmao).
this doesn't rule out butch's ability to be angry, though. there's certainly a lot of witheld resentment and hurt he's held on to - maybe just because he doesn't know how to let it go - and one of these days he'll inevitably lose his composure. in my hc it'll result in him lashing out irreversibly and essentially kicking brick's ass back into gear, but that will be a while off.
for now, they love each other at a complicated distance.
saying the punks love each other at all is a questionable statement. brute split off from her sisters as soon as she relieved them of oppressor plutonium's hold and very rarely looks back. it's a wonder she remembers to send her sisters money and pay their rent [hc], to the point that brat suspects it's an automated payment that brute actually forgot about or isn't concerned enough about to follow up on.
brat and berserk are lumped together, sure, but they're hardly close. brat feels like she was burdened with responsibility when it comes to berserk. they're worlds apart from each other in terms of maturity and independence; brat loves berserk more than brute, but it's almost,, a friendship as opposed to the unconditional love that siblings are supposed to have for each other.
there's no support system to speak of for the punks. brat is an isolationist at heart and doesn't have the patience or social battery to keep up with berserk, who in turn has no solid role model to look up to and resorts to extremes to gain attention. they are diametrically opposed.
unlike for the puffs and ruffs, there's zero resolution for the punks among themselves. they reach out to other people, make friends that way, but are never - and were never - particularly close to each other as sisters.
sort of like an opposite to the puffs, how they seem to have a constant draw to each other in the end. the punks are flipped magnets constantly repelling away from each other.
the taste in friends they have is a lot different, too. berserk seeks out people who remind her of brat (ie; her friendship with boomer, her crush on blossom - both two people are aloof and hard to get close to, and whose attention is hard-earned but worth it once you get it).
brat in general is a bit of a social chameleon, but ultimately goes for soft-natured, kind-hearted people - people who are very different from than her sisters (ie; billy and kristen, two normies who are entirely unrelated to the turbulence of brat's day-to-day life.)
and then there's brute, who seeks out no one. (with rare exceptions.)
TL;DR: from 'best relations' to 'worst', it goes puffs, ruffs, and punks. each of them complicated in their own way, and the concept of unconditional love getting more unfamiliar in the same order.
for my own sake there's also a trend across the groups where 1 person is distinctly apart from the rest in some way: bubbles mentally, brick emotionally, and brute physically.
i just have a thing for patterns. there are even more but it'd end up being confusing to talk about - and it's kind of irrelevant, i just felt like pointing out the one mentioned above.
// 😅 sorry for the delay in replying to this one, i've been a bit busy. i'm hoping this all makes sense without going to deep into my hc backstories / series of events throughout, because i don't have any idea how i'd actually get into it, so this will have to do for now. thank u for the ask !! 💚 i also go into my hcs for the ppnkg's relationships with a bit more [hc] context here if you're interested ! i also did not proofread this + i wrote it on my phone, pls forgive any super noticeable errors </3

Water Nymphs and their descendents in Dootz/Mads' bullshit :P
So I know I'm going a bit nuts on the nymph stuff so I thought I'd explain it a lil bit! :D It's long af as I have SO many thoughts. Might make a straight-up demi-god one later
Things that are true with both Nereids and Naiads descendants:
Neither can do much with and have a hard time with their opposite. AKA Freshwater vs. Saltwater. It's possible that they can get used to the opposite but they will not be able to breathe or really control it. Can control and work with some but it's...difficult and not a lot. Naiads though, CAN take out the salt in increments and eventually just get fresh water. This was usually done during very bad droughts with permission from the Nereids. This is probably one of the things that give Naiads an advantage over Nereids as Nereids can't go further inland where freshwater is and necessarily turn it into salt water. Also, Nereids are bigger and physically stronger than Naiads. That doesn't mean that they always "win". But Nereids ARE more well-known and have a better connection to the big water gods. Also, only Poseidon's children can do shit with both.
Water births! This only affects PREGNANT people with naiad blood. If the father of the child has naiad blood but the mother does not, she probably won't need to do a full water birth but probably will need more water (why more water nymphs are women) It has to be within their "water type" as well. (Salt/fresh) For naiads though, with all the different types of water sources, it is more complicated. As say, for example, if there is a drought when they are born, they probably grow up to be smaller and possibly sickly. And being born in a lake vs. stream will affect size as well. Sometimes even a pond. Usually, there are preparations to try and be near a good water source for the expecting mother. There are some times when it catches moms by surprise and they have to rush to the nearest water source. Sometimes that's a bathtub :P Possibly sickly and small baby. Kind of like how certain fish grow to be bigger because they're in a big place :D Nereids are big ladies because of the sea being BIG :D
If they end up living in a new place? It's an adjustment to that new source as the minerals are different along with the different cultures as well. However, if naiad born person is visiting and there's "business" to be done with the locals, ofc they're not gonna partake as it's not "their water". If there is a drought probably will only do stuff for their companions.
There's not necessarily a "rivalry" or fighting between nereids and naiads. It's more like a "Hi! We're cool but I will NOT go in your water. I don't like it." Both will eat fish from "the other side" though. They might just not PREFER it. If there's freshwater going into the sea, they tend to meet there but don't like "passing over".
Both are kind of "fishy"! :D Pointed ears, sharp teeth, scaled, Big Irises, usually blue/green in eye color, shimmering scales sometimes, etc. Don't necessarily have gills and I think I'll have them kind of breathe through their skin.
"What tf does it mean to be seasick?" Both are comfy on boats no matter what type of water their on 🤷
Also while all fullborn nymphs are women, there are nymph descendants that are men and still have nymph traits and abilities.
With men going to war...there's a reason why they don't move water while fighting.
I'll talk about Nereids first as there are only 50 of them and not as many children. (This is Achilles' and Thetis' time to shine)
Much more PHYSICALLY powerful and larger (Blubber also exists with real saltwater animals!) than Naiads as the sea never has "drought" (No water), and is bigger and endless. (Though Achilles, being only a demigod, could get his ass beat by a full Naiad if he's near freshwater).
Achilles can literally drink seawater and actually prefers to do this. Can breathe in it as well. And this poor boy, being Nereid-born yet still getting fresh water for baths whenever he was more inland. He would just CRY during them because it "feels wrong". He eventually gets used to it but it's sadly still uncomfortable for him :'( Toss this boy in the sea.
Achilles is actually really tall. Like towering over most of the other Achaeans as he's a demigod.
One of the reasons WHY he's so sure he can take on Scamander/Xanthos (other than rage) Why are there so many names for one individual?! is because of the whole "Nereids are more powerful physically" than beings from the river but...Achilles is NOT in his element... He's not near the sea. He's also JUST a demigod. You're not fighting a naiad-born person near the sea, you're fighting a River GOD in his element. (I know he just doesn't give a fuck but it's funny to think about him being like "Yeah, I could take him down" and getting his ass kicked)
Naiads!!! I have a lot more on them as this has more to do with the characters of the Epic Cycle, as many of them are descended from Naiads, and how Naiads interact with mortals more often (getting drinking/bathing water)
So the "gods of that specific body of water" are like the "Queen bee of a hive", Naiads are like the worker bees. The Gods are usually at the very source of the water and "are the water" themselves. Naiads do a lot of the "work" though. Naiads will ask for help if they feel they need to or if the god is angry enough.
While Nereids almost all look identical in many ways. (same parents) Naiads from place to place absolutely vary. All sorts of body, hair, eye, etc. types based on the water you were born in! Especially if the father doesn't have any naiad blood in them. The more Naiad blood in you, the more you are like the water you were born in. The More WATER you are. The more "Human" your parents are, the more likely water will not affect your appearance.
Born in Rapids from a long, medium-width river? Probably curly (rapids being wild) and light hair color (the white moving water) with a tall and "medium" body. Born in a very clear, calm lake that's very deep and has a lot of red clay? Straight red hair with a chubbier body typer. Born in the murky, calm, short, creek? Probably smaller framed, with straight dark hair. You get the idea! :D
If, for example, a full-blooded naiad gets with a man who is half-naiad, it's not uncommon for your child to come out with some "impossible" appearance. Two black-haired parents can give birth to a blond baby if born in a certain place simply because of the WATER. This doesn't affect personality though.
Also, Naiads CAN go from place to place as long as it's the same region and similar water! River, stream, lake, fountain, and it's not too uncomfortable if it's in the same region (same minerals help!)
Full-blooded Naiads live in the water basically at all times but ofc, it's not like they don't marry and live with their new spouse. Though they should spend SOME time every day in the water. While it's harder for them to get dehydrated, it's still possible. Also, it feels nice! :D
If you're a mortal person who's now married to a naiad-born, you BETTER have easy access for them to get to water or then they'll probably leave you. :P Though sometimes nymphs have flings and just have their children be raised as a naiad but that depends on the place. Not ALL can live among mortals or then who'd do river stuff! :D
Different places have different customs with naiads and even with how much interaction happens. Culture usually somewhat resembles the culture of the region in general as well. Sometimes even depends on the wildlife and water type. Activities with River Naiads are different than the activities done for the Pond Naiads :D
With mortal interactions for example as well, Sparta is a place where nearly half the nobility are in some way descended from Naiads and literally can walk up to a nymph for help and most likely get it and offerings are more like "gifts" as they have more "friendship" there. While Ithaca has basically NO ONE descended from them and has to give offerings and sacrifices as required for example. (Odysseus is only so close to those naiads mentioned in the Odyssey because they become new sister-in-laws for him through Penelope. They're Telemachus' aunties >:D )
Mortals will even make man-made sources of water if the Naiads need more room/water sources. Or if there's a drought, may ask the royalty for help in possibly speaking to the Nereids if they can have some to change into freshwater... It's a partnership in most cases.
Even if the relationship between the people and nymphs is good, sometimes shit happens. If they are "mad" at the people for whatever reason or maybe weak from something themselves, they usually will head up the river/stream and...leave the people to deal with the water until they get their offerings or their strength back. Even non-humans make mistakes/get weak also sometimes.
And if someone is killed by a nymph?? Do you actually want to avenge them if it means you won't have access to water without some other sacrifice?? All those asshats that always need to take a piss off the piers and fishing docks and into the water would be killed on sight btw
Full-blooded Naiad Wife (Like Periboea): Can sense bad water as soon as it comes near them. Knows from what source it is from. Can tell what is causing it. Can purify with no problems. Can water bend a lot. Can live underwater without leaving it ever to get "air". Should have a "dip" in the water a few times a day. Usually pretty "ingrained" into their original region. It's dumb to try and bring her to a new place full-time. Can heal wounds AND probably sickness. Pointed ears, sharp teeth, large pupils, some scales, etc.
3/4 blooded person (Like Penelope and her siblings): Basically the same as above except for minor things. One difference is that if there is bad water, they usually can tell what's causing it but maybe not the specifics (i.e. Knows that there's a dead animal contaminating the water but might not be able to know what exact TYPE of animal.) Can water bend a lot as well but probably not the entire river. Has to be in the water at least ONCE a day. Can stay underwater for around a week until it starts being "uncomfortable". Can leave the region and adjust to other waters (though it'll probably still be uncomfortable at first) Can heal wounds and sickness (some naiad-born are more talented than others) Pointed ears, sharp teeth, big irises, not nearly as many scales but probably some, etc., and can be affected by dad's genetics but are definitely more affected by the water they were born in for an appearance.
1/2 blooded person (Like Tyndarius, Icarius, and Hippocoon): This is where the changes really start. Can't sense bad water until they touch it. Can "move the water" but not as much or as efficiently. Should take a dip once a day but CAN go without for 2 days until they start getting uncomfortable. Can only be underwater for around 1-3 days (depending on, some spend more time in the water than others) before needing oxygen from the air. Prefer not to be in seawater but CAN without feeling "too wrong". Only slightly pointed ears and while they have sharp teeth, they can smile without scaring people not familiar with it.
1/4 blooded person (Like Clytemnestra): Usually have to actually TASTE the water before they can tell it's bad. If they practice a lot they can maybe use a bathtub full of water :D. Only slightly pointed ears. can maybe stay underwater for 1 day with practice. can go a week without a few days without a "dip" in the water. Can go in the ocean with just an "...Ew."
Control group, with no naiad blood: "I'm just going to take a sip of water...Why tummy hurt? Say sike right now."
"Why don't men in the armies who are descended from Naiads use their abilities during wars?"
...Because local river gods don't let them. :D
"Look, you can drink from my waters and even fight with it for minor scuffles but don't involve me in your wars! >:( Be thankful I'm letting you have water to drink and bath with, you dipshits!"
I mean with how Scamander reacted to his river getting fucked up from all the blood and bodies??? Achilles fucked around and found out.
Rambling and maybe a bit silly but let me know what y'all think! :D
