I mean, I don't share the sentiment of "only wanting to date lesbians" at all, so I'm not sure how helpful my advice would be for you.

That being said, I DO have a gf that I had to go out and meet so here's what I did:

Actually leave my dorm. We met at college so that might be a bit of an advantage, but I didn't have to talk to anyone at all. Fun fact, I was actually kinda pursuing her roomie for a hot second there 💀 but I refused to let college be a let down. You know something? I actually got to meet Josh from drake and Josh during my freshman year, and it's NOT even the most memorable thing that happened to me that year. I brought it up with my gf and she said "oh yea, I forgot [meeting Josh] happened". THAT'S how much shit we did freshman year. It was wild.

Don't be afraid to make the first move. I asked her out to dinner. I asked to be alone with her so I could express my feelings, even though I was literally SO nervous.

My specific advice to you would be: even if you don't like those bi girls, maybe you could befriend them at least? Ones you actually like though, don't just use people. Lgb people usually find each other. Have you considered that the best way to find a gf isn't necessarily meeting the perfect girl yourself, but being introduced to the perfect girl via a friend? Through my gf, I've found a gay guy, tons of bi girls, and one lesbian. So maybe your first stop on your path to finding a girlfriend is to drop the "girl" part and looking for lgb friends at all. Before I was dating my gf, I went to a dance and saw a REALLY pretty girl who was in a group. I pulled one of the group members aside and asked if she was gay. Unfortunately, she didn't know, but two of my friends went to go ask her directly for me 💀💀💀. Turns out that she was "pan" and thought I was cute. I asked her to dance, and the rest is (unfortunately very bitter) history 🥴. All that to say that friends--good friends--will do absolute wonders for you!!!

Don't be a pessimist lmao. I left my "I'm never gonna find a gf, ever" thinking behind in high school. Do not give up!! In my first year of college, I literally met three women who were into me. I never would've met them if I just got discouraged.

nya: lesbian (she/her). theres probably some gender in there too but its not a solid hc for me

jay and cole are dating as of s5… ISH. and kai and zane are dating as of like s6… or s8. i ahvent worked it out. nya and pix r dating as of like s5 TECHNICALLY lol but s8 proper. cus shes Real now

2. elemental powers and stuff. lets get interesting

MY HC is that all the elements come from the original powers of creation. so the fsm created the original 4 elementals as like protectors of ninjago . and over time as the powers got passed down they mutated or diluted so u get stuff like smoke coming from fire and mind coming from ice (the future vision part). and as of seabound ig water and wind are completely separate but obviously at some point got similarly diluted so long ago even wu didnt realise they were smth separate

essentially this means that while each element still has connections to its dragon roots (see s4 elemental dragons) only the 4 creation elements can use dragon form.

the elements themselves manifest as dragons similarly to the end of s15 (think kai saying “is that… us?”) and the elements kind of …. ARE an elementals whole being.. almost like their soul. the dragons they can summon are a reflection of this (think like.. the titanium dragon for zane)

my approach to stuff in ninjago that is inconsistent or just silly is either to ignore it or warp it into smth that… kind of makes sense. so here my explanation for the powers inconsistencies in the first few seasons lol

the ninja needed the golden weapons to use their powers in the first few seasons despite it later being revealed they were inherent to them simply bc they were too young. powers usually start to manifest around 18 and without training they might not develop past like. accidentally giving ppl static shocks or smth. and this is bc of the dilution of powers over time and the general … lack of need for them in the modern day. but any power can still become massively powerful if trained! lloyd is a special case in that hes able to access his powers from very young due to being. directly descended from the fsm. and similarly the ninja can all use theirs fairly young as the creation elements… nya is able to access her powers at a younger age due to her … different lineage haha

the reason the ninja cant use their powers proper until lloyd donates their golden power is bc as lloyds protectors their power channels into lloyd. in a normal scenario they would have the golden weapons to channel their own powers similarly to how thors hammer worked in ragnarok. and they would also be older and more able to access their powers. but fate works in strange ways lol

i realise im kinda contrarian abt this lol but the ninja r like canonically resistant to their own element so i think they would not have scara from their own element. so like kai burning himself and stuff haha. its a really cool design trope tho .. but in my mind they wld be more likely to have scars from each other. so jay having burn scars and stuff! similarly kai would feel warm to everyone else due to his internal heat but would feel the cold so bad. kai is out there in like 20C/70F weather shivering teeth chattering. and the opposite is true for zane but he has cooling fans so its not as bad haha

umm… one last thing vaguely related to elements i was thinking abt yesterday. the human form taken by the fsm and like. all the elementals and whatever. its not their real form. the fsm is really more of a divine mix of oni and dragon but his power is like that thing where normal ppl kinda… cant comprehend it. so he takes a simpler form when travelling to ninjago and uses this as the basis for the people he created to populate the world. Yes sorry for putting religion in ninjago. the writers did it first

but it is technically still possible for wu garm and lloyd to access these forms. after his bite garmadon slowly starts to show physical traits of the oni.. and lloyd becomes a version of this original form when using their golden powers. both wu and garm technically have access to it as well but dont rlly ever… it doesnt rlly have a practical purpose other than flight lolol and i think wu is both too humble and too afraid to ever rlly tap into his oni side proper to access it. but wu was strangely good at flying in s15 huh… ^_^

Thew: she's in the "probably bi, might be a lesbian" category. she's gone on dates with men, she's gone on dates with women. she only has one proper ex which is a woman. she's not 100% sure what her sexuality is but kinda just lets things happen and doesn't worry about it too much

Min-Jee: 100% knows she's bi, 100% knows she's trans. she's known both since she was very young and kept her mouth shut to all but her closest friends about both until she felt she was in a safe and stable enough place to come out publicly

Porter: hey, he's literally just sitting. just chilling. he does not even have the desire to look for a label. he likes people. he sleeps around with all genders. he feels fine with he/him pronouns, but also feels fine when other pronouns are used. vibes only

(she's bi. she hasn't worked that out yet)

Thespian: thespian does not understand human conceptualizations of either sexuality or gender. thespian has a fringe angel sexuality and a normal angel gender. aka, thespian likes more than just those who it is appropriate to like (can develop feelings for people in different societal status than them), and their gender is mostly neutral but slightly feminine because they are the eldest (more on that here if u wanna know more)

New Questioning WLW Doc

so um dont wanna be contra-vershal but i’m starting the process of writing a document similar to the infamous ‘am i a lesbian masterdoc’, but taking into account bi women more, so like i’m hoping to hear from both bi women & lesbians about common experiences of the questioning process that could point to either bisexuality or lesbianism (especially ones that are specific to each demographic if possible as the aim of the doc is to help ppl figure out which one they are. shared experiences are also good tho !)

I’m currently working loosely with the categories of

“non-normative” attraction to men (ie how bi women’s attraction to men differs from straight women’s)

distinguishing between genuine attraction & mistaken “attraction” due to internalised homophobia / being closeted to oneself

gender/presentation stuff like androgyny, butch/fem, he/him wlw, nonbinary wlw, etc.

so if u wanna talk to me about anything relating to that (or have suggestions for other categories i’ve not considered) please send me an ask abt it ! if you want me to link your blog as credit at the end of the doc then send the ask off anon, but if you don’t want your name attached to it just stay anon or let me know in the ask that u want to remain anonymous

hmmmm. good question, anon! tbqh i try to stay away from speculating too much about future topics in the skamverse bc i feel like that’s just setting myself up for disappointment when i don’t need to lol also a lot of the time w/ druck i’m happy with the direction the show went anyway [for example before s6 ended i had said i wanted them to focus on immigrant issues but i have absolutely no complaints about the story we got instead, super important to focus on fatou’s dyscalculia plus we got some discussion about the characters’ experiences from immigrant families in the end so win win for me!]

HAVING SAID THAT i do have a lil wishlist of things i would like to see, not that i will be mad if druck doesn’t do these things but just like, if they wanna do them as a treat for me i will certainly not complain

i’ve seen people talk about getting out of a toxic friendship being a potential topic in future seasons and I like that idea a lot! like i think it’d be pretty rad to give teenagers a sort of framework for how to deal with that kind of situation bc let me tell u it’s not easy

i’m not sure that we will get this any time soon but i would LOVE to see a trans girl as a prominent character. skamverse it’s 2021 it’s about TIME

More intersectionality! I really liked how Fatou’s ethnicity/background was not erased from the other aspects of her story like being a lesbian or having a learning disability, i even feel like they could have done more with this so i would like to see more of it in the future

again not sure that they would feel the need to do this as they already have Mohammed from s4 and Kieu My talk about their backgrounds a little but if they wanted to delve more deeply into refugee/immigrant issues i wouldn’t say no to that i’m js

i loved Fatou’s learning disability storyline and i think it would be really cool to see other disabilities [physical disabilities for example] represented as well! maybe from the perspective of someone who has been dealing/coping with the disability for a while as opposed to learning about it throughout the season, both of which i think are important to portray

if we do get a season about Ismail that focuses on being nonbinary [Ismail for s8 i speak it into existence] i hope we get a storyline about the nuances of exploring gender and how messy and complicated it can be but also how much of a relief it can be when you find what fits you and the people who accept you for who you are

other than that i mean honestly i feel like a lot of stuff that was previously on my wishlist was hit by s6 [season about a disability, check; season focusing on a bi asian girl dealing with internalized biphobia and people in her life fetishizing her, check; season about an interracial relationship where neither of them are white, check; a thoughtfully written storyline about two teen girls of color falling in love, CHECK] so i can’t really think of many other things i personally would love to see but also as a non-German non-teenager i am definitely not druck’s intended audience so again i won’t be mad if they don’t hit the rest of these things [nor should they be catering to me!], ultimately i just hope whatever stories they do decide to tell in the future they are able to do so with the proper care and nuance and that they resonate with the audience they are trying to reach [AKA German teenagers]

[sidenote: i totally feel you about wanting to know more about Kieu My’s family’s reaction! i mean i really get why that wasn’t a focus bc it wasn’t important for the story they were trying to tell this season, plus they’d probably be wary of playing into certain stereotypes, but like my own coming out as bi to my viet immigrant parents was really quite complicated and it would have been cool to see a storyline that touches a bit on that. that’s kind of why i’m not super on board with the “skamverse already has a coming out story, they shouldn’t tell coming out stories anymore” thing bc while I don’t feel like they NEED to tell more coming out stories i also don’t feel like it would necessarily be a BAD thing either. coming out is a different process for literally everyone and i think when people say they’re tired of coming out stories really what they mean is that they’re tired of one specific coming out story being told, or at least that’s how i feel about it. so personally i think there’s value in showing the diversity of queer experiences when it comes to this topic bc there really is a lot of it in real life, like every single queer person i know has a different story, but not a lot of it in mainstream media. anyway i digress lol but yeah i’d be into them telling other sorts of coming out stories if they wanted to tackle it!]

When I said women and female socilaised folks, I include trans women under the category of women, and under female socilaised folks I put nonbinary people, trans men, intersex people, afab people in general, etc. Idk if there’s a better, more concise way of encompassing all gender identities who experience misogyny but if anyone knows please tell me!
