but on the OTHER HAND.... timiveskon? chefs kiss. kon and ives are instantly bonding over nerdisms. they are both standing on the table and yelling about the rereleased edition of return of the jedi and kon is going on about how he has the original literally downloaded into his brain and ives thinks that's the sexiest thing he's ever heard and tim is just sitting there consumed by lust while they both yell about greedo. it practically writes itself. come on

NOW its time for my 'cass and kon got along well and we should acknowledge that more' agenda ok no not in a romantic sense but in a very 'two lonely teens who are too focused on the mission that has been their entire life to have a healthy private life' way. they should hang out again i think. also these issues are just very sweet and fun

The premise is timkon established relationship, but Tim is scheming to acclimate Kon and Jason like introducing two cats through a bathroom door. Eventually, he gets Kon on board he and Kon tag-team Jason, pspspspsing him into their relationship uwu jaytimkon endgame FTW

This is based on that one post that went around a while ago talking about the herding dog x wolf x sheep dynamic UwU and I thought it would be interesting to do a 3-part fic with 3 different POV's and they each take turns in each of the roles depending on the POV character's perception OwO

I don't have a lot written for it yet, and I would appreciate a vibe check on my Kon voice so far because I don't write him very often (ie at all), but here's a snip of the start:

Kon does not like Jason Todd. He doesn’t really think he has to explain why, because of the, like, everything about him. But in the interest of full disclosure— He’s an asshole. He kills people. He hurt Tim real bad that one time— no, not that time, at Titan’s Tower, that other time, with the batarang he stabbed into Tim’s fucking chest— He’s also never properly met the guy, but so what? He doesn’t have to. He can tell. The vibes are rancid. So he's not really sure why, exactly, Tim is friends with him. They hang out together on the nights they're both in town, after their patrols are done. Jason never stays after Kon gets there, shifty-eyed and staring too long after Kon's kissed his boyfriend hello. Like clockwork, his heartbeat will start to race loud and annoying in Kon's ear, picking up like he's getting ready for a fight. Then Tim always asks if he wants to stay a little longer, that they were planning to watch a movie or grab ramen from that place up the street, and he's welcome to join them. Barf. Kon would go along with it. Begrudgingly. Because despite his extremely correct feelings about Jason, he knows Tim likes him. That he thinks it's water under the bridge. Tim is too generous to forgive sometimes, when he thinks he's the only one who was hurt. But Jason will just raise a cocky eyebrow, glancing at Kon like he knows what he's thinking, and smirk all lop-sided and fake. He'll beg off, making his excuses and slinking out like a thwarted wolf, knowing better than to snatch a lamb when the guard dog's on duty. Kon always tracks his racing heartbeat across town, just to be sure.

bart loves fidgeting with anything and everything tim has. tim'll be carrying his shuriken and bart'll just find it, touch it, cut himself on a corner, complain, then go back to fidgeting with it

bart holds onto tim's cape all the time. calls him boy wonder too. all of the time.

tim loves bart because bart is one of the only people who really congratulates him. it's always "YOU DID SO GOOD!!!" and "WELL DONE WONDER BOY!!!" and tim's never gotten that before. he loves it.

bart uses :D and :3 on a regular

tim's strong enough to lift up + throw bart. that's all.

they bicker like a married couple though. like back and forth until kon or cassie is like "girls stfu ur both pretty ok"

when tim came out bart was the only person around him who wasn't really like "yeah, we know" because that's kinda mean. bart just kind of accepted it and didn't talk too much about it, it didn't matter to him, tim's tim either way

they are just best friends your honour

if tim's hurt (early red robin days this happens a lot.) and i mean hurt badly, needs time to recover kind of hurt, bart stays with him. alfred is really strict on tim not getting up and possibly hurting himself more, and alfred is one of the only people tim'll listen to. bart sits with him. talks to him, tells him everything he's "missing", make sure he eats and doesn't just continue to work whilst he's resting. but then bart leaves and tim goes straight back to it. unfortunately. old habits die hard.

tim cut bart's hair once as payback for bart and kon dying a streak in tim's. it was a jason joke and it stung like hell but tim brushed it off and got revenge

He’s so gone he feels like he’s still on the plane. Actually flying must feel like pure joy- happiness to feel so utterly free and floating. He thinks he’d be great at flying.

Logan wakes up to an empty bed, and at first that doesn’t even register as odd to him. He hates to admit it, but he never expects any warmth next to him.

So i dont have all day so I'll definitely do each season in its own post but heres a more in detail description:

I'm going for a vibe somewhere between Teen Titans (the 2003 show) and The Owl House if that makes sense, very true to the comics. The show starts with the team already established (not just the core four or the six from the first part of the run, all eight of them) The series premiere opens with Red Tornado yelling at them for being stupid while they are completely ignoring him and Traya is the only one kind of listening while drinking a juice box (yes shes here too im a sucker for teenagers having a fourth grader following them around and not being mean about it) Then in the middle of the lecture, the Justice League comes in and gives them what they think will be an easy mission. It is, but in typical yj fashion it doesnt end up that way. Over the course of the first three episodes, they fail to complete the mission and instead end up in space, in a dance dance revolution tournament against hermes himself, fight each other at least once, Kon brings up his ttk thirty four times, and they set at least one thing on fire.

I will elaborate more in a little bit once im on my computer, i just woke up and my phone is a nightmare to type on. Anyways does anyone have a billion dollars to give me so i can produce Young: Just Us

Firstly, shipping the batkids together??? I've seen a few fics like that, especially the robins (e.g. dick/jason, jason/tim??) but I generally avoid them bc they make me feel uncomfy personally, even if they're not characterized as brothers/sisters in that particular fic - cuz i cant kid myself into thinking that i'll ever see them as anything but siblings 🥹

then there's also the stephanie/tim thing?? my understanding of stephanie's dynamic in the batfamily is limited since i got into the dc fandom mainly through fic, but i'm under the impression that some canons have that, and stephanie is not totally considered part of the batfamily (as in bruce's daughter). while other times it's tim/kon, and I'm very supportive of the increasing inclusion of queer representation in the "dc canon", but i guess it's just that the batkids all feel like children, like babies even 🥺🥺

and finally, my otp, ghostbat 🥹🥰 i've never really seen you post anything about them, it is definitely a much rarer ship, but i'd love to know your opinion 💙 i would absolutely recommend taking a look into it if you haven't already, their dynamic is so unique (imo) and heart-wrenching! i havent found that much content about them, so if there are any suggestions for content for them, i will take literally anything 🥺

People do ship the batkids together, in a variety of related/not related scenarios. It's not everyone's cup of tea. Some people like it. Some people get very squicked by it. All reactions are valid. I am a big proponent of ship and let ship -- people are going to write what they're going to write. If you don't like to read that, hit the back button. Like you said, you have already identified that you don't like it, and now you avoid it. That's awesome!

Tim/Steph vs Tim/Kon can also be a touchy subject in fandom. Steph's inclusion in the batfamily depends on the fanon and/or canon. People have strong opinions about this. My reaction is always, teens have relationships. Messy relationships. Tim and Steph and Tim and Kon can all happen and it doesn't make anyone more or less deserving of love or a relationship. They're kids figuring themselves out -- it makes sense that it's messy.

I like ghostbat! I will admit I'm not as familiar with the ship as I could be. I mostly consume secondhand info here on tumblr. @allgremlinart's blog is a great place to start if you haven't already.
