university/college AU where simon and tommy are actually identical twins—which they’ve used to their advantage plenty, usually for course purposes, and miraculously no one ever catches on.

so, in harbouring a huge crush for one john mactavish, but being way too shy to go up to him and ask him out, simon thinks to use his more charismatic and charming brother to help him out.

tommy is super reluctant because it means deceiving john, and surely that won’t end well, but simon manages to convince him eventually, and so tommy sets out to at least score a date with john on his brother’s behalf.

which is done quite easily, actually (thankfully). tommy tells simon the time and place, and wishes him luck—except then simon chickens out at the last second and tommy has to go in his place, because no one is just going to stand john up.

unbeknownst to tommy, john actually figures out relatively quickly into the date that it’s not actually simon that’s seated across from him. their first conversation about setting up the date had been so brief that john didn’t have the time to figure anything out—but now he plays along, just to be polite, until they reach the end of the date.

john awkwardly tells tommy that it’s been great, but he’s not actually into him, but rather simon. he thinks that this had been a ploy in order to set tommy up with john, but then tommy is exhaling the biggest sigh of relief saying, oh thank god, simon was just too nervous to ask you out himself. tommy goes on to explain the whole situation, and thankfully john is very understanding, and together they hatch a plan to actually get simon and john on a date—without the risk of simon backing out again.

it works, of course—john asking simon out is hardly something to be ignored—and they get together officially after that, a very happy relationship in spite of the slight mess of a start.

from then on, simon and tommy keep the whole trading places thing to a very bare minimum.

Fandom: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reboot

Pairing: Kyle 'Gaz' Garrick x Lisa 'Badger' Compton

Rating: E (eventually, but not in this snippet)

Synopsis:

CIA operative Lisa Compton is assigned to the 141 - it's her responsibility to help Laswell coordinate infill and exfill, gather crucial intel for the team and provide plausible cover stories when they get into tight spots. There's one problem: Sgt. Garrick is the most insufferable, unprofessional, bull-headed boy she's ever worked with. Gaz's an immaculate soldier, ready to jump at Price's order and launch himself into the fray with his mind focused on one thing: completing the mission. But when Laswell assigns the new CIA operative 'Badger' to their team, he can't stop flirting with her, thinking about her soft curves and sharp wit more often than focusing on the job at hand. Laswell won't approve her transfer to another team. Price is threatening to bench him. Badger and Gaz won't talk to - let alone look at- each other. Ghost thinks Badger's nickname should be 'Insufferable Yank.' Soap wants them to fuck it out already.

AKA: This'n's a good ol enemies to [???] to lovers with a sprinkling of other tropes for good measure. Station Chief Laswell stood quietly in the corner of the briefing room, surveying the group seated in the briefing room. Her fingers idly tapped along the edge of her folder, watching operatives mutter alongside soldiers, the chatter covering the struggling projector on the table.

Captain Price rocked on his feet on the other side of the screen. “All right, settle in.” His voice snuffed out the conversations, chairs scuffling and people settling in the following silence. One last bark of laughter echoed across the space. “Garrick–”

“Sorry Sir.” 

Lisa huffed softly to herself as she caught Sergeant MacTavish punching Sergeant Garrick in the arm and the returned scowl.

At least one of the 141 seemed to want to take this seriously.

hockey player!ghoap x smm!reader thoughts

just thinking about how you’re a social media manager for a new hockey expansion team. johnny and simon — who grew up playing hockey together — both got drafted to the pros but have never played on a team together before. they’re both selected for this new franchise — the first time they’ve played together since they were kids.

simon is a defenseman. big, hulking — he’s the guy that's going to initiate fights with the players that are picking on his teammates. you aren’t going to get away with a dirty hit when he's around — he will retaliate. he will dish out a big clean hit when they think they’re safe. especially if it’s johnny. he’s the team enforcer, but still a talented defenseman.

johnny is your center star. he’s wicked fast on the ice, and is always showing off with plays you think are near impossible. he’s surprisingly humble — giving credit where credits due, passing to his teammates when they’re open instead of taking a wild shot himself. he’s the chatty one, always talking up the press during intermission and after the games over.

(and ofc we have gaz as a winger and price as the old goaltender close to retirement, who just can’t give up the game yet)

you were hired with a batch of social media managers in order to promote this new team to the locals. you want to attract season ticket holders. you want people excited for the upcoming season. you want people to meet their players — even though most of them have a history on the ice.

you’re really good at your job. your main job is keeping up with the videos and pictures of the team and players — creating the content that gets posted. your coworkers laswell responds to the fan tweets and comments — she’s got more of a knack for that, where you have the creative eye.

part of your job is getting to know the players and getting them to open up to you on camera, especially when you’re recording. you have them follow along to the latest tiktok trends, record practice sessions and even what time everyone shows up to the arena (simon is early, price is right on time, gaz and johnny are running late). normally your job would be staying on home ice — not following the team when they’re away — but to keep up with content the owners request you specifically go along. it’s been a total hit online and tickets are selling like hotcakes.

you start to really get to know the team — you fly with them and stay in the same hotels. you’re with them at every practice. they start requesting you be the dj at practice even. it helps loosen them up. you get great content. you joke with them. you even stand at the bench during games. (content content content)

johnny of course chats you up first. he's easily to film and he’s your star. he’s the one generating the views and likes and hearts and comments. he’s the one everyone’s excited to see. he’s the first to jump on a new trend you want to film and he’ll encourage everyone to do the same. he’s the only reason that you get simon to be on camera. (and he still won’t go on camera much, rather you have to get shots of him on the ice)

they do their best to include you in everything, but especially when they’re at an away game. if the boys are going out for dinner, johnny will make simon knock on your hotel room door and convince you to join. (you don’t take a lot of convincing, however johnny has to pour simon a stiff bourbon to work up the courage to go ask you). you’re included in celebrations when the team wins. they drag you to one of the guy’s houses for a private dinner and drinks.

johnny and simon start to separately invite you to things — just the two of them. it’ll start off as johnny acting like he has a great new idea for content. he and simon did grow up together, they are best friends. they could have a great little segment together.

but it turns into more. they sit on either side of you. johnny brushes a hand against your thigh and rests it there. simon has an arm on the back of your chair, always keeping his body in the way of any potential threats. always keeping you safe. their sweet little puck slut princess. their hands are all over you by the end of the night.

they take you to a shared hotel room — after all it would be irresponsible for any of your to drive home. and johnny and simon share everything. they’re happy to share a room.

they’re happy to share you.

Call of Duty Masterlist

I write for Simon "Ghost" Riley, John "Soap" MacTavish, Kyle Gaz Garrick, Captain John Price, and König.

I write the occasional Ghoap fic, but mostly either OC or fem!Reader fics. I don't cross tag or mislabel them. If it's a reader fic, there will be no names (or y/n) used, it will be either exclusively second person or a mix of second and third, it will only be tagged as Character x Reader, and any physical descriptions will be minimal (pretty much just a mentions of Reader having hair that's long enough to pull/pet lol). OC fics, on the other hand, will have a fleshed out, fully described FMC, only be tagged Character x OC, and always be exclusively in third person.

Requests are always open, but I will be honest that I don't answer them in "first come first served" manner. I just answer them when I get inspiration for whatever prompt you've sent in. Please don't let that stop you from sending them--I am always happy to receive asks, I promise that as long as they are nice, they are never annoying! I am also a staunch supporter of SALS and YKINMKATO mindsets, so you never have to fear judgement from me about any of your ideas. If it's not something I am interested in/comfortable writing, I will just not write it, but I'll never shame you for it.

I welcome and encourage feedback of any kind, including constructive criticism, on my full form fics! I also welcome and encourage you to add your own additions to my blurbs. I would be delighted to see them.

I know I'm certainly in need of some positivity and escapism lately, so I'm gonna try to do semi-regular fic and book recs! Starting with a retroactive what I've been reading from the past couple of months with this account! (I might go back in time and make an all-time rec list later)

Sergeant Squeaks by @charliemwrites - (series of one-shots ghost x reader and price x reader separately) both one of my favourite reader characters and my favourite canon setting depictions of Ghost and Price. their own weird brands of showing love are wonderful; the tension leading to getting together is fantastic, and the sex is super enjoyable.

Ghost Stories by @kneelingshadowsalome - (ghost x medic!reader) I'm repeating myself, but I love Salome's writing. This is where I was first introduced to it, and I think it's really special. Ghost POV as he struggles with developing and then accepting love. felt so real and grounded. angsty and then fluffy, and you can't help but adore the reader as well.

saltwater by @ceilidho - (ghost x reader) It's pretty unlikely any of you don't know Ceil, but on the off chance you haven't given this one a read yet, it really is a must. I lump praise on her pretty regularly, but I don't know anyone who is able to portray their character's emotions as intimately as Ceil. her ghost feels really grounded in all his complexity. there is a common theme in these recs of really enjoyable reader characters, and this is not an exception; the reader feels like a full but still ambiguous character who is vulnerable and strong and really great.

don't leave me locked in your heart by @ohbo-ohno - (ghoap x reader dark!) we all know bo, we all love bo. I always love the way she depicts ghost and soap's dynamic changing and evolving to include the reader. the descent into dark territory in this is really really fun. It's also just hot and well-written! if you haven't read it before, go read it, and then go read all of bo's drabbles and asks on here. genuinely one of my favourite dark but still fun writers. I think she balances it really well.

body electric by @yeyinde and Afterburn by @sprout-fics - (141 + Los Vaqueros x reader) a classic. I've returned to these so many times. sometimes you just want to read dirty, filthy, well done, smut and then warm cozy aftercare. not to wax poetic about pure sex (except that's exactly what one should do), but I think it can be really hard to write group sex like this and still have such insightful and individual glimpses into each character and dynamic, and Lev does it wonderfully. and then it's also hard to find good aftercare fic, and Sprout's feels like literal aftercare for both the reader character and the reader.

other fandoms

tried to curate to themes i think overlap in some of the cod works! and I think most of these can be read fandom blind.

i revisited @winterrose527's fic in August, and even though she already knows how much I love her work, I won't skip a chance to repeat it. Anna writes for asoiaf and is pretty much the queen of Robb Stark/Myrcella Baratheon, but I would say the modern AUs (my favs) can be read almost completely fandom blind. Any contemporary romance enjoyer would love her work. I'm really partial to her kid/single-parent fics. I think it's so hard to get right, and I always adore reading her kid characters and how she approaches love stories when kids are involved. anna's works are always brimming with love and incredible platonic, familiar, parent-child, and romantic relationships (if kid fic isn't your thing she also has a ton of other great fics). personal favs: We Could Be a Little Something, And There They Are, All the Same

Lawless by @goldcranes - (arthur morgan x ofc) age difference, cowboy love story, essentially a romance novel. if goldcranes has no fans, I'm dead. I encourage you to explore her work; very few people write as strongly across multiple fandoms as she does, and each of her works feels like a really strong love story with special characters.

The Odyssey by @sunlightmurdock - (bradley bradshaw x reader) 1980's roman literature prof x virgin student - no need to know top gun. katie's work is another entry in the 'feels like it stands really strongly separately from the source material' category. she has multiple ongoing AU's that I really love, but this one is a favourite. i think she does complex characters really well - their actions always feel intentional, and as flawed as they are, I always love them.

Wouldn't it be Nice by allyoops - (m/f captive A/B/O) if you aren't reading original works smut on ao3 you are missing out and allyoops is a great place to start for noncon, dubcon, age gap, taboo etc. enjoyers. they have a ton of works; usually one shots with lots of really delicious dynamics and different settings and tropes.

An Intoxicating Presence by FormerlyIR - (mob a/b/o haladriel) MOB. A/B/O. HALADRIEL. picks up with Halbrand in prison thanks to undercover FBI agent (and his mate!) Galadriel. does that sound crazy and awesome? well it is. mix it with Gal's internal struggle, the added complication of omegaverse, and overall great writing. really fun and really damn good.

civitas terrena by banalityofweevil - (darklina) angel Alina on an exploration of love in immortality with fallen angel Aleks. honestly, it's just a must-read for enjoyers of writing. incredibly creative with divine (literally and figuratively) imagery. i think one of my comments was on the precision of lulu's diction and I really stand by that.

tinsel into gold by ribbonedhare - (darklina) ddlg and cnc friends, this changed me. it is so warm and soft and my god, is it good. just scrumptious.

That was just a taste and I can’t imagine how I’d short circuit over another part (if ever there was one) but genuinely if anyone could pull it off, it would be you. You’re so talented and your writing always hits the mark. The way you write Simon is so finger lickin’ good, not to mention how you write soap 🫶 but yeah just… love your stuff.

the continuation of that prompt would be just like anon described it - ghost becoming steadily more obsessed with you (and johnny, because he becomes so completely devoted to you that he can't help but mimic your feelings towards johnny) until he manages to procure a Soap-Bot that is an exact replica of your late husband. maybe even has his former memories somehow :\\ maybe even thinks that he's the Real Johnny like he never actually died :\\ and part of you questions whether he actually is....after all androids appear so lifelike and johnny even feels warm to the touch. he remembers everything about you. he even somehow knows Ghost, hangs off every word he says and treats him like a real person, like a coworker that he's got a thing for. but you know he's not real. you think he's not real. he still has the mask on his face but you wonder sometimes what you'll find if you roll it up.

i had this idea today- no worries if it’s not your style or if your uncomfortable with it but what about if Johnny and Simon have an established relationship already and have a flat in the city near their base. then bc there rarely actually in the flat they decide to find a flatmate to occupy it and look after it while there away. then they get obsessed with her and create a plan to get her to be a third- just like constantly acting like their both already dating her and eventually she is like “wtf are you guys doing?” and they sorta manipulate her into thinking it’s normal and that’s just how they act. (ofc they manage to seduce her and they become a cheeky lil thrupple)

i know for a FACT that someone on this hellsite has written about obsessive neighbors ghoap before but i cannot find it despite endlessly scrolling the entire ghoap x reader tag so!!

i read a (very soft) marvel fic yearssss ago with basically this premise and it has always always always been one of my favs. an established couple taking one look at someone else and going "we want you"? oh i'll eat it up every time!!

i also love the idea of the reader insert struggling and being Very Very determined to not ask anybody for help. ghost and soap have to find increasingly underhanded ways to like, make her let them fix her sink or smth stupidly simple like that. they (really just ghost, johnny's not so sneaky) disguise their very intense desire to help by just pretending they care about their neighbors

they'll bring you food, help you carry groceries, give you rides to work, like if there's something these two can do to be around you for longer, they're doing it. you cannot catch a break from either of them - when one isn't there, the other is, and most of the time they both manage to sandwich you

(ghost is absolutely the kind of asshole to ask you to watch his dog while he travels for work, only for you to walk into their apartment and see johnny lounging on the couch. when you try to explain the miscommunication johnny just laughs and goes "that bastard, he thinks he's funny. might as well stay now though, huh bonnie?" and you're not leaving that apartment for at least three hours)

It all started with one thought. Hey I rlly wanna draw some sort of femme fatale esque Soap.

So I went to bother @hyperfixationwizard about it, as you do.

The initial idea was obviously that he's seducing Ghost but then I thought hey it'd also be really cool if he was seducing some other dude (which of course ended up being Graves) and Ghost was his like.. bodyguard I guess.

Cue a metric fuckton of pining and jealousy they're in denial about.

So—to set the scene. The 141 and co are some sort of secret spy group blah blah blah, tasked with gaining very important information from none other than the CEO of Shadow Corporations, who is none other than Philip Graves of course.

Soap and Ghost are leading the mission, with Soap intended to seduce Graves, earn his trust and then gain access into .. like the company's super secret database so they can find the info they need to expose them. Or something. The plot is still in progress (he says, meanwhile together with Hype they wrote approximately 6k words or so between the two of them).

The plan is simple, or at least it seems simple enough until Ghost starts finding himself very very jealous that Soap is flirting with Graves. Like how dare that asshole even LOOK in his direction. Not because he's in love with him or anything, absolutely not what are you on about.

Soap of course is no less interested in Ghost—big guy, mysterious and cool, nice voice, what is he missing, really—and maybe he is more friendly chatty and flirty than he claims he is with everyone. Even if he was, Ghost can't really tell because he's busy being down bad so it's fine.

And things go according to plan, y'know? Attend a gala here, go to some fancy meeting there, maybe a date for like.. golf or whatever stupid rich assholes do, I wouldn't know, but they're earning Graves' trust and that's all that matters.

And maybe somewhere in between all that, Soap and Ghost kind of have.. a Moment™ where Soap asks for help to put a necklace on and asks Ghost for help. There's something about the feeling of his bare fingertips (because he'd have to take his gloves off, no?) so faintly brushing against the skin on his back, something about the intimacy of literally baring his neck to Ghost (because he trusts him and it's quickly becoming clear he doesn't just trust Ghost to watch his back he trusts Simon) and somewhere between all of those some things they probably stay frozen there in front of the mirror for longer than they should've and longer than it should've been acceptable.

They do snap out of it though, with Soap meeting Ghost's gaze through the mirror and shooting him a wink before hurrying off pretending his cheeks weren't burning red.

Funnily enough, that same night or maybe a day or two later, when Graves presents Soap with a necklace as a gift and insists on helping him put it on himself, Ghost finds his blood boiling at the way his hands linger around Soap's neck, peering over his back to admire the pretty piece of jewelry and is about seconds away from murdering him on the spot—subtlety and diplomacy of the mission be damned.
