Economy - Israel's economy took a hit in October that was comparable to the economic tremors caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. It is effectively in a major recession today. The longer they drag out this war, the worse their economic condition will be. Foreign capital will continue leaving the country as it seems incapable of stabilising. While the continued use of reserves means 300,000 Israelis will be unable to work, not to mention the millions of dollars Israel has to spend to mobilise its reserve every day. The longer the war goes on, the more people will end up leaving the country. 470,000 have left in October and November with no intention of returning while over 300,000 settlers are internally displaced. Both of those numbers are bound to go up as the war continues. This means that Israel is missing hundreds of thousands of Israeli workers. A few weeks ago, Israel struck a deal with the Indian government to get 100,000 workers after tens of thousands of worker migrants fled the country. That plan fell through thanks to Indian trade unions. Now Israel is turning to African States in a desperate attempt to replace the Gazan workers it's currently genociding. We will see if that plan works as Africans are by and large pro Palestine. Plus the Yemeni naval blockade is growing more and more intense every week as a direct response to the genocide in Gaza. In short, Israel's economy can't withstand a long war. America cannot help prop up the economy as it will soon be facing its major economy issues in the coming years including a housing crisis and likely a recession.
Military defeats - Israel cannot defeat Hamas. It cannot win a war inside Gaza. It failed to do so in 2014, it's failing right now. It has lost hundreds of military vehicles including the (formerly) vaunted Merkava-4. The estimated number of injured soldiers stands at 10,000+ while the Resistance is still intact and capable of carrying out dozens of military operations against IDF and the surrounding cities and settlements every day. The IDF has never looked more weak than it is right now. Hezbollah has been employing a military strategy dubbed the escalation ladder, in which one end of the ladder is no war and the other end is total war. It has continuously escalated against Israel, attacking deeper and deeper into its territory, and it will continue until there's open war between Israel and Lebanon. The point of the escalation is to give Israel time to leave Gaza but as that's not something the Israeli government is planning on doing, we're looking at a region war in 2024 (so far we have a regional conflict and whilebits serious, it's not yet war). Just like it can't win in Gaza, Israel can't defeat Hezbollah and occupy Southern Lebanon like its leaders have been threatening to. It certainly can't take on the Ansar Allah group in Yemen.
West Bank - every week, there are clashes between Israeli forces and the Resistance in the West Bank and it's growing more and more intense. The best way to describe the region is 'powder keg.' Israel has responded to Oct 7th by detaining thousands of Palestinians and killing hundreds. There's a growing popularity of Al Qassam Brigades and other militant groups in Gaza. There also seems to be coordination between the Gazan and West Bank resistance groups, as in they would carry out operations at the same time. The longer the war on Gaza goes on, the more likely that war will also break out in the West Bank.
Many, many more Palestinians will die. This plan, more than anything, is a call for the continued slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza.
But the longer this goes on, the closer Israel gets to collapsing.

keep close | part II
joel miller x f!reader [5.2k] summary: It's the oldest case of blinded by love ever seen. All of the doubts and pining must have entertained the gods all this time. That's the explanation you settle for when you discover that just like you, Joel has been suffering in silence. Wanting. Craving you. 📝 This is the continuation of part 1 but it can be read as a stand-alone. If you enjoy it, reblogs and comments make all the difference. 🏷️ Pining, idiots to lovers, sexual tension, smut build-up.

Everything was so fucking green. You hated it.
"Why d'you hate it?" Joel asked.
Unlike you, his recovery advanced fast. Bruises and cuts had the 'fading to yellow' tonalities, and he was now hunting deer and other animals with Ellie so you three did more than just survive winter. "'Cause I never see it." It's so beautiful out there. "Ever stopped to think about how the world looks healthier and prettier than it has in thousands of years, and we're all stuck inside walls?"
Joel usually takes a moment or two to reply, but when those moments stretch on, you look up from the floor to where he's sitting on the couch and—oh.
He's doing it again. Looking. Staring at you as if he's thinking a hundred things. You freeze under his gaze again, waiting for it, begging in your mind that he'll do it...
His hand reaches out in direction of your face, and everything inside you lights up.
He touches your hair.
Ever since that incident where you two were sleeping together a little closer than ever before, Joel's taken a liking to your hair.
Usually, the idea of anyone touching you, let alone your hair, is enough to make you break out in hives.
With him, you lean against the touch.
The hand on the side of your head starts doing sweet, caring movements, and you force yourself to open your eyes.
Joel breaks you out of your thoughts by wondering, "What would you do if you were outside?"
That takes your memory back. You close your eyes, getting lost in his touch for a moment. "Probably... play something."
"Play what?"
Ignoring how his voice surrounds you when your vision is gone is difficult. "Anything that requires a ball." You somehow manage it. "My brothers and I—" their mention chokes you. Grips you by the throat.
As always, Joel waits.
"My brothers and I loved playing... anything," you chuckled. "It's the only time I wasn't bored."
"What did you enjoy the most?"
"Uh. Probably volley? I liked keeping the ball up high." You open your eyes then, missing the sight of his. Joel's watching his own hand in your hair and, in exchange, you get to watch his face. Before he can dive more into your past for his own distraction, you nudge his hand with your head. "I'm proud of you."
Joel knows exactly why, and still, "Why?"
You roll your eyes. "For making El believe in Santa Claus."
It happens again—Joel smiles. One week's passed since the incident and you're still mesmerized every time. "I don't think she'd believe him for too long."
"Joel."
He laughs through his nose, then places his gaze on your eyes. "I don't know why you'd be proud of me for that. It's stupid."
"Letting her go hunt on her own is stupid?"
"Sure is." He had a damn point, and you hated the world for it. "We both know how it could go."
"We do. And still, you allowed her to feel like a person who has some control over her life and who's capable of using her own hands to live." As someone who waited years for that same opportunity, you knew what it meant. "You don't know what this means to her, but I do."
Joel lived a life before chaos was the new natural order. He takes a second, his hand pausing its ministrations before he nods and continues his petting. "I believe you."
That means the world to me. "Thanks."
This time, Joel doesn't answer.
His hand keeps doing the thing it's grown fond of, and you keep pretending your body is not growing dependent on it like plants need air, water, and the Sun.
You think his hands and eyes on you might be your Sun.
You wish you could do the same for him.
The idea of rejection is what holds you back from so much.
Before last week, before he did this for the first time, the physical distance kept between you both was your seal of confirmation that Joel knew about your feelings. That he knew how much you burned for him, for a touch of his.
Now, you aren't so sure.
Then, you cried. Months ago, before this last ordeal of fuckery made your little triad retreat to a cold cabin in the mountains, you cried over the mere thought that Joel saw you as he did Ellie.
Like a daughter.
It plagued you until it showed up in your dreams and made you weep because of it.
All your life you waited for the moment when the desire for someone became real. When wanting and feeling a connection became as tangible as the tension that cloaked the quarantined city every day.
When it came, it was him.
Joel breaks you out of your thoughts with a chuckle, "You remind me of a cat."
You were leaning against his touch again. This time, you keep your eyes closed. "Feels nice." More than nice. "So nice."
He laughs again. "I can see that."
That pulls your eyes to open. Joel's face is fixed on you. His right hand is hidden by his shirt, tucked on top of the cloth soaked with medicinal paste. It's why he took the touch after a lot of arguments, minutes before Ellie left for the hunt. "You're a cat, too," you argue.
Joel raises one eyebrow at that. "How?"
"Skittish."
"I'm skittish?" the smile is making its way back to his lips.
You nod. "I'd pet you too if I didn't think you'd hiss and run for the hills."
Fuck. Barely are the words out of your mouth before you feel the heat creeping up your neck to cover your face. Out here, there are lamps with candles.
Joel sees you with clarity.
A deer caught under the spotlights. Not a cat, then.
It's his smile, opening slowly but surely, that makes the tension leave your shoulders. "Ellie says I can be a grouchy hedgehog with anger issues. One that stinks. And you... wanna pet my hair?"
Ellie's a child, Joel. I want you. "El is a sharp-tongued kid who loves making you frown." It's also the truth. "And yes. I do," in a much lower voice, you finish with, "it looks soft."
Joel shakes his head, his smile widening. "Unbelievable."
"What?"
"My dirty hair. It looks soft," he repeats, fixing you under his gaze.
You look away. "Nevermind," you mumble.
Joel should remain still on that couch, but he moves. Laughing, his hand goes back to what it did before, and pulls you closer as his upper body leans forward. He sort of—nuzzles. It's not a kiss—Joel just touches his nose to your hair, and you feel his laughing coming out through his nose.
When he stops laughing, he leans back down on the couch.
His tender touch on your hair continues.
"You're so..." he trails off, and you wished you were still looking at him. "I wouldn't run," he adds.
That gets your attention. Your eyes find his, and your heart seems to grow two sizes with the way it beats. "No?"
"No."
Immediately, your eyes fall to the couch he's lying on—you hate it. It's small. Old. With no room for another person there. "I'll show later that it's nice," you settle for.
Even if the couch could fit a whole family of three, you know that you'd remain where you are.
"Later?"
"Yeah. No space for me up there."
"Oh." Joel sits up in a single motion, causing you to sit up straight. Your cheek was resting on the small part of the couch his body wasn't, but now, you watch as he lifts up his shirt to inspect his bruised side.
The second you see skin, usually, you avert your gaze. This time, you inspect the colors and healing with him. It looks... ok. Still painful, just as your own body is, but no shooting pain with every move you make.
Joel places the rag on the couch without care and nods. "C'mon. We were up all night re-making the supplies, and El's only gonna be back in a couple of hours. We should rest."
Following Joel is the norm by now. Wordless, you walk behind him in direction of the room.
The mattresses are still pushed together.
There are three backpacks with several items placed in front of them on the other side of the room, a handful of handles spread around the corners, and on top of that old brown blanket, Ellie's drawing book.
"She was here again," you tell him.
Joel's kneeling in front of his backpack with the cassette player in hand. "I don't know why. Her room's the only one with an actual bed."
"She's restless," you say as you move her notebook to the floor, "and ever since you taught her how to scout perimeters, she uses that opportunity to find 'cool shit' around places."
Joel hums in reply, and then you hear a click.
In a very low volume—low enough that only these walls must be capturing sound, his tape Saxophone Colossus fills the air with a gorgeous sound.
He makes his way to the bed and lies right next to with you a grunt.
Your bodies' sides are touching. He places his left forearm under his head, using it as a pillow, and then turns his head to the side where your waiting eyes are already observing him.
"She found the water heater," Joel agrees.
His voice is always lower here. Either that or you're in closer chambers and always use that as an excuse to drown in it. "She did."
"Can you turn it on to heat up some water when she comes back?"
You nod, smiling at him. This part is so good. "'course," you want to scoot closer, but—always but. "I'd rather prepare three baths measuring the water with a coffee cup rather than skin animals alive."
Joel's side smile returns. He stares for a moment, and says, "I don't know how you learned it that well. You hate doing it."
"I learned it 'cause I had to." For her. For Ellie, it goes unsaid. "Doesn't mean I'll ever want to ever again."
"Thank gods they didn't butcher my arm, then."
You close your eyes, whining a little. "No. Please—don't even joke about it."
Joel laughs. "I'll make sure to keep my arm. For both of your sakes."
"Thank you," you open your eyes again.
"No problem," his grin is kind of intoxicating. From this up close, watching Joel smile does to you the same that a full glass of bourbon does. "C'mere," he tilts his chin down at the same time as he stretches his arm to your head, "there's space now."
It hits you what Joel's doing. Inviting you in.
Call it instinct. When you raise your upper body just enough for his arm not to linger awkwardly in the air, you're still registering what is going on, and then—
his chest.
Joel guides your head there, and as it's custom, you follow.
It lands you where you dreamt of being for months now.
His body adjusts underneath you, getting comfortable.
You're so lost in the feeling of his heat that you miss the beat. When you feel his breathing becoming even and his hand moving in your hair, you notice how comfortable you are.
How perfect it feels.
Joel pets your hair for a little while before you manage to find yourself again.
A song must pass and in it, your mind lives through the most blissful few moments of peace and quiet it's ever had.
Nothing happens. No thoughts, no doubts, just this.
When you come back to what is reality, no matter how dream-painted it looks, Joel's heart sings under your ears.
You can hear it beating.
Then, you remember why you're here now. "Can I do it?" you ask.
Your body remembers it can move and does something else it's been dreaming of for a while. It cuddles. It adjusts itself in order to be comfortably aligned with his, and your chin tilts upwards to get a look at his face.
From this angle, all your see is beard until he looks down. "Do what?" The question is betrayed by the hint of a smile on him. It might be a product of your own rapid heartbeat, but Joel seems to gain a little bit of color. "Pet my 'soft' hair?"
"I can hear the air quotes and I don't appreciate them."
You love to make him laugh. This time, you get to feel it. Even if it all goes down someday, at least you'll always have this memory. "You can," he replies once he's done laughing.
Breathe in, you decide this position is just fine, and move your right hand up until it finds his hair. Breathe out.
The angle is uncomfortable—not the best, nor the worst, but it does its job.
It feels greasy when your hands run through them, but not dirty. It is as soft as you imagined it.
It takes him some time too — one song and a half — before Joel's body is fully relaxed. His heartbeat takes the longest.
You feel the times when he lifts his left arm to check the clock to see if Ellie is still in her two-hours time.
None of you sleep, but that doesn't matter.
Rest nowadays goes beyond hours shutting down the brain. Laying there with Joel is the most you feel truly rested, even if the circumstances are these.
Whatever leads to you in his arms, you'll take it.
It's worth the wait. Makes you feel alive.
Tumblr media
Ellie eats like a starved animal, every time.
"Slow down, kid, jesus fuck," you tell her, without fail, every single time.
By now, she does slow. It's like she needs a reminder—there is food, and we'll find you more if you need it.
Once, Joel wondered what the fuck did they feed her in that military school. You're unsure if you want to know.
"Did you two rest?" she asks with her mouth full.
"Really?" he gives her the look of 'gross, El', but she only rolls her eyes at him. "And yeah, we did."
"I already warmed up the water for showers." The wood bath structure was perfect for a shower, and heating up all of the baths inside that room already made the temperature rise a little. "You can go first."
"Telling me I stink?" she asks you.
You grin. "Always do, bug." Little bug. That's who she was to you—a nature's wonder. "Not enough showers in the world to change that."
"We should be honest with her," Ellie turns to Joel, and you think oh here it comes. "She can't smell herself."
"I don't know what you're talking about," Joel replies in faux seriousness. "I'm certain all three of us smell like fields of flowers. The one that's most us, y'know? Like me, for example, I'm clearly a blue orchid."
It's been like that since those guys jump you three. Whatever lock kept Joel doing his best to push you two out, was just gone.
He presses his makeshift plate closer to lean in your direction and say, "Do I smell like orchids? Is it amazing? Any hints of some type of wood underneath?"
Joel's silly.
It's not something either one of you expected but welcomed with open arms.
He'll say the stupidest things to make Ellie laugh. He acts, and then winks in your direction to say 'gotcha'.
Ellie leaves for her shower, and leaves you two alone.
The air's back to what it was before she arrived.
It's always been different without her around, but now it's this. Joel finishes his meat and cleans the tip of his fingers with his lips. You try to look away. You fail.
He pulls you back. "Can I ask you something?"
You're almost done with your meal, but now that he's talking and his whole focus is back on you, the hunger left. Switched. "Always."
"Do you feel... lonely?"
What a stupid, and painfully sharp question. "No." I'm scared to ask the same. "Of course I don't," you say. "There's you. El. I'm... well-accompanied."
Whatever he was looking for, the answer must deliver. "Okay." He looks in the direction of the bathroom —Ellie— and then back at you. This time, he scoots closer to you and fits himself to fit in your side.
You open up to him, happy to create more space.
You'd wrap yourself around his whole body if you could. Make a home somewhere between his arms and his thighs. His smile always in line of sight.
With arms wide open, Joel pulls his chair, screeching the floor until he's content with the proximity. His head lays on top of your chest, and your hands immediately go to his hair.
There's no music to measure time, but you've grown fond of the 'peace and quiet' he always went on about.
Eventually, he speaks. "We can't fall asleep here."
You laugh against his hair. "It hasn't been even five minutes. You know she's mixing cold and 'hot scalding water' until the temperature's just perfect like she's a mad scientist until now. We have at least twenty minutes."
"Hmmm." He nuzzles his head, and you pray your hummingbird of a heart won't disturb him.
Joel asked you about what you thought of his plans for once you two were healed. That's what you both discussed with Ellie as you ate.
The conversation changes two or three times before he lands on it.
"Well—after all of it. Tommy, or Fireflies—what do you want?"
You're still lost in the last topic, and the feeling of his hair running like silk through your fingers. "Do we even know if we trust them?"
"Trust who?"
"The Fireflies, obviously."
"Ah. Hm. I suppose we don't," on your arms, Joel nudges you with his body. "Forget 'em for a sec."
You open your eyes and his head is lying so nicely on your shoulder. He locks eyes with you, and asks. "What do you want after that?"
Like that. As if it's simple. "Are you asking if I want ice cream or move to the Arctic?" What an absurd. "I don't fuckin' know. I hope I'm alive. In one piece. And so are you two. The end."
"You don't want anythin'?"
It's infuriating. He is right there, looking up at you with those stupid gorgeous brown eyes and, "It's not that simple," comes out before something else does.
Not enough of an answer, apparently. Joel shakes his head. "'s just a scenario. A 'what if' for the future, since we can't do them about the past. Indulge me."
"So, like, a hypothetical world where you, and El, and I, we're all good. And we... found Tommy. Or maybe the Fireflies."
"Yeah."
"And they've given us a little more than just 'she's the cure' to work with... And we can—I don't know, sit back and watch some scientists do science? That's the scenario?"
"You're paitin' it much better than me," he smiles. "Go on."
You roll your eyes. "In that scenario—I want ice cream."
Joel groans. "Oh, c'mon." He sighs, and whispers your name under his breath. He leans close enough for his hair to tickle your cheeks. "Tell me. Somethin' you always wanted growing up, I don't know."
"It's a difficult question!" you defend yourself, smiling despite being cornered by his new musings.
"It is. And you can think on it, if you want," Joel nuzzles his head to comfort once again on your shoulder, then closes his eyes. "I'm just curious about the stuff you wanted to do before someone threw a mission on your lap, that's all."
"Okay. I'm thinkin'."
"I can hear the engines turning," he whispers. You poke the side of his body, because you know now that you can, and then—, "I already know you're gonna ask me the same so I'll start thinkin' about my own answer to. And don't bullshit me—if you tell me you'd rather have an x-burger instead of ice cream I'll poke a finger in one of your bruises."
"You wouldn't."
"Try me," he laughs.
"I'd kill for an x-burger, now that you mentioned," your voice lowers to a whisper too.
"Same. Now shhh and think. I'm sure you've had aspirations beyond babysitting the unique child and teaming up with my ugly mug."
That's what stops you. Ugly mug.
Your eyes open, and the intensity in them must pierce through his darkness, because Joel feels the eyes on him and looks straight at you. "What?" he looks confused.
Your first mental lap is to be angry—
how can he not see it? it's right in front of him—but then.
Insecurities.
The ones you have and cloud your thoughts with every rising Sun—of course Joel had them, too. He was older, this world was far from kind, and—
He gets up, looking every bit as lost in thoughts as you are, and starts gathering the things from around the fire.
You took too long to answer, and his nervousness always shows up in one of two ways: sleep, or organizing.
"You genuinely think that?" you ask after a second.
Joel gathers the plates in his hand and uses the snow water to rinse them. "Which part? That I think you deserve more or that my mug is ugly? 'Cause yes to both."
"That's—wow." Your laughter is dry, something very unusual.
It makes him look at you. "Wow what, woman?"
He only calls you that when he's getting impatient. "That's crazy to me."
"What is? I never asked you either one of these questions 'cause the first one could be misread—I don't want you thinkin' I'm tryna get rid of you—"
"Thank god."
"—and the second one." He sighs, and puts the plates together. Everything that's not being used always goes back to the backpacks in cases of emergency. Joel looms there over the sink with them in hand, and you wait. "I'd say something stupid like 'does that kind of thing ever matter anymore' but the truth is, I can't see a scenario that it doesn't, and I'd rather live without your honest opinion about this."
"I am always honest in my opinions," you agree.
"Exactly. That's why I never asked you what you thought of my face—I can sleep without that one," he concludes.
"You were right, too. Saying 'does beauty matter anymore' would be stupid 'cause we always looked and always will look for things that we think are pleasing to the eye. It's human nature, don't you think?"
He nods, and then moves to where the backpacks are to put away the cans and plates. "It is."
"I think a lot of things are beautiful. Mostly it's nature, though. And woman. D'you think I'm weird for that?"
Joel looks over his shoulders and the answer is written all over his face.
You shrug your shoulders. "I know some people who definitely would."
"I know some people who have fungi tentacles exiting their mouths. We've learned these past few years that our species isn't the smartest."
"Touché," you laugh. "I do think you're handsome, though."
It freezes the air as if someone opened a door and let the cold air inside.
"Not that you asked—but," you look away from his frame, losing the confidence to look at him as you go on, "you're... beautiful." Most men would hate that adjective. You know that because you heard it from your brothers—only women are 'beautiful'. "I know men don't like that word used to describe them, but—"
"What men?"
"I don't know," you shrug again, wanting to have a shell to retrieve out of nowhere. "Most men? It's what my brothers told me."
"Well—they don't speak for me, then."
It's the feeling of his eyes on you that makes you gaze in his direction. "I like the white hairs, too," for some reason, your voice dropped to a whisper, "and your beard. It's even. Frames your face well."
Joel looked frozen under a spell.
He stared at you with intent and focus you'd never seen before.
Since you started, you might as well finish. "The crinkles by your eyes are smile-made. I like that."
It works—it brings them out. Joel starts smiling, even if his eyes look a little lost. "Smile-made?" he echos.
"Yeah. They're there 'cause of your smile. Some people have lines 'cause they frown a lot, or grimace, or are always judging. I don't like those lines."
"I have worry lines."
"We all have worry lines, Jo. It's the end of the world."
He laughs. "Touché."
"That's my favorite part, though." He stops laughing at those words, and you miss it instantly. "Your smile."
His gaze softens. "You like my smile?"
"You almost never smile," you say, hating that sad truth, "and it's a beautiful smile," you think if anything else comes out, it might be too much. Too close to the truth, so, "in conclusion: handsome. So—I do think you're a little crazy. It might not be often, but we still see mirrors every now and then."
His silence as an answer made the jittery nerves climb up your legs, soothing like an ointment every bruise it found in its way.
Joel staring at you was the reason why you lacked sleep, sometimes.
Too many thoughts about what he was thinking. Too many scenarios about what it would be like to have the courage to make the first move.
It's he who does it.
When it comes, you're too lost in a trance to properly register his steps coming back to you.
He sits on the chair next to you again. Grabs your chair with one hand, and pulls it close to his until they're touching.
He's so close you could count the gray hairs you like so much on his beard.
When he leans in closer, you're breathing his air, and it makes goosebumps rise all over your skin. On your arms, your neck, your back.
Joel moves one hand to your neck at the same pace one moves when hunting wild animals.
As if every movement could result in being seen, and the prey running away.
When he's only a couple of inches away from your face, you feel the heat of his palm spread across your neck; his thumb caressing your cheek. He asks, "Talk to me. Is this—Am I reading it wrong?"
If you have a voice, it's gone. You shake your head and do the only thing you needed all this long—you lean, too.
Sometimes, things are so important that every second of it counts.
Joel's lips on yours are one of those things.
You're shaking, at first.
Although inexperience is part of the reason why you're so terrified of doing something, this part you know.
It's the only one you have confidence in, so you let all the worries on your shoulders go, and you kiss him back.
Joel wants you to.
The notion that he might've been as lost in his head as you were in yours makes you want to cry. You whimper against his mouth instead, pressing so much harder when the reality of what is happening catches up to you.
Joel pulls back for just a second, "It's okay, I got you," he seals the words by pressing his lips on yours again.
All of your reservations fly out of the window with those last three words.
You throw your arms around his neck, almost throwing yourself too in the process. Joel laughs right there, with his lips still on yours, and catches your weight.
With your fingers threaded through his hair and holding on for dear life, you let him do it—let him guide you.
Kissing Joel makes your head drown in every other moment you two shared and you could feel your heart beating in your throat.
He takes it slow with you, despite feeling the shivers all over your body.
Joel nips on your bottom lip until you open up for him.
He kisses by sucking, then pecking your lips, and when he finally pushes his tongue in your mouth, you forget where you two are for a moment.
The moan is involuntary, and even with eyes closed you feel them rolling to the back of your head.
Joel's hand on your nape starts massaging your neck and he says, "Shhh, gorgeous, 's okay," he licks into your mouth again.
Rewiring your brain is so easy for him. Gorgeous.
Just like when you two discovered that touching one another was an option a week ago, learning that this is on the table is almost comical. You feel like a starved person being delivered a feast, and stopping is far from an option.
When you pull back for air because there's none left in your body, the string of saliva connecting your mouth to Joel's makes you tremble again.
He needs to know. Tell him. If he knows he's the only man — or person — who's ever awakened desire in you, maybe he'll understand why you're like a leaf in his hands.
Joel's hand comes up to your cheek. It's huge, covering almost half of your face, and when he whispers, "Open your eyes," you realize that you'd closed them again.
His eyes are the warmest part of him. "Hi," you mumble. "Please tell me you'll do this again."
Joel smiles. "If you wait a few more hours, El will be asleep," he swallows visibly and you think what on Earth could he be nervous to, "I can help you... cleaning your wounds. You could help me."
Right. Bathing together, even if 'bathing' is a strong word for it.
Inexperienced. No knowledge whatsoever other than books you read in the abandoned library. What will you do with him? What will—
"We don't have to, obviously," he interrupts your thoughts. "And yeah. I wanna do this more. Of course I do," Joel kisses you again, and you hold his head in place for a few more moments, stealing more kisses to numb your mind. "God, I wanted this since I met you."
"Joel."
"It's true."
"I'm happy to know we're both idiots," and even happier that was behind. "And—I mean. A helping hand is always good... right?"
The look he gives you does it again—a shiver, and it's not from the cold.
The mere idea of his hands on you is enough to make you sweat.
Maybe that's the perfect timing and opportunity to lay it on him that he's signing up for something he might not want.
"You want my help?" he asks. He nuzzles his face on yours, rubbing his beard on your cheek, down to your neck.
You bite your lip to stifle a moan. "Yeah."
"I'll do my best."
It'll be more than enough. That is—if you can survive the next few hours. If his kisses alone are enough to almost bring you to a fever again, his hands might kill you.
You would die happy.

PRETTY BABY! - sim jaeyun ꨄ
- warnings : pussy eating in public, cussing, dirty talk
- words : 663
"you've got such a pretty pussy." my eyes widen, turning around to face the person who said that. "sim, what the hell? we're in class!" i whisper back at him and kick his shin from beneath the desk. he just smirks and rolls his eyes. "meet me in the art room during lunch, okay?" i nod and turn back around to try and pay attention to the lecture but the aching between my legs made it hard to focus.
TIMESKIP TO LUNCH.
my shoes clack against the floor as i walk throughout the halls of the somewhat empty school. everybody's at lunch, including my friends who i had to explain to my absence at the dining hall.
that simple answer being sim jaeyun, or jake as he preffered. we're not dating, nor are we friends. fuck buddies if anything. we met at a frat party and hooked up and ever since then it's been these annual meetings when one of us, or both were horny.
I open the door to the empty art room and immediately get attacked by a pair of hungry lips. "took you long enough." he peppers kisses around my face and collarbones, unbuttoning my blouse and groaning at my white lingerie. "wore this just for me baby?" jake looks up at my eyes, panting. i raise an eyebrow and decide to tease him.
"maybe, or maybe it was for heeseung." at that, he slams me against the wall leaving me wincing at the damage. "don't lie, heeseung could never fuck you like i do." his fingers linger around my waist before sliding down between my legs. "he could never make this pussy wet like i do." my thighs automatically squeeze at his possessiveness.
jake smirks, "let me eat you out, yeah?" i eagerly nod and sit down on the chair that's next to me with my legs spread. he hungrily licks his lips and gets on his knees. "please.. jake. need it so bad." i whine and tug him closer by grasping his hair in a tight hold. jake rips my tights apart and groans at my slick already coating my pussy. he starts rubbing my clit with his thumb and licking around my opening.
i gasp at his teasing and try to close my thighs around his head to bring him closer. instead of my plan working, he grips my thighs and brings them apart. "keep them open baby." i groan at his slow pace and try to beg for it. "jake.. please eat me out." i see him smirk before diving into my pussy.
soft gasps leave my mouth as my eyes widen and his tongue starts doing wonders inside my pussy and his thumb rubbing my clit faster. "oh g-god!" a loud moan erupts from my throat when he plunges two fingers inside and starts thrusting them at a fast pace. he removes his thumb and starts sucking and licking around my clit like his life depends on it. i start to whimper at his desperation, him eating me out like he hasn't eaten in years.
jake adds a third finger and continues slamming them inside, reaching my gspot in seconds. i start seeing white and my moans get louder. its like the both of us have forgotten we're still in school, his tongue slurping up my juices and my whimpers reaching a high level of sound.
"come on my pretty baby, cum. I know you want to." he removes his fingers and starts tongue-fucking me. "fuck jake im c-cumming!" i let put a high pitched moan and cum around his tongue, letting him lick it all up.
I start to squirm at the over stimulation yet he looks like he's barely finished. when i start to push him away, he shakes his head and looks up at me. "you're gonna cum until im tired." i groan and throw my head back. maybe it wasn't such a good idea idea to mention heeseung, or was it?

This is what the fight is like
Sooo, apparently the extremely tenuous and recent nature of the LGBTQ+ community's legal right to exist was not actually super widely known to a lot of people on Tumblr?
Which clarifies some stuff in retrospect. I have so often wanted to grab people by their lapels and shout, "Stop picking on someone for not meeting your entry requirements! We need everyone we can get, you asshole! DON'T YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THEY HATE US OUT THERE?"
Aaaapparently... no, they did not know. Or they knew and were a conservative psyop preparing the ground for our loss of legal rights. Fun times!
So: Look, it is bad. Shit is scary. They really do hate us out there. You're not wrong.
But: This is what we've always fought. This boat we're in with its antique fittings and strange markings on the floor is a battleship. Work has always been going on in the basements, and when shit gets tough, we clear away clutter and roll out the cannons.
I found this chart a couple weeks ago and hung onto it because it felt like the map to my first 25 years on this earth:
Tumblr media
[Image description: A graph titled "Same Sex Marriage: Public Polls since 1988." It is from FiveThirtyEight's NYT column. It records the percentage of US Americans polled who would say yes or no to legalizing same-sex marriage, from 1988 to 2011.
The two lines begin with roughly 10% saying yes in 1988, and 70% saying no; the two lines gradually draw closer over the years, until by 2011, the percent saying finally dips under 50%, and the group saying yes makes a tentative reach for the majority. End of image description.]
After some great social change has happened, when everyone has admitted that gay marriage is very cute and Pride is a colourful parade, hooray, people like to pretend that it was just natural and inevitable and happened on its own. People just became less prejudiced! Courts just decided on a case! Governments just passed a law!
In reality, it was a vicious fucking fight, every fucking time. Every fucking where. There are a lot of people who deeply, sincerely believe that a hundred years ago, society had good rules about sex and gender and intercourse and marriage, and that changing those rules has made the world worse. They don't always agree on the specifics, but they can work together far enough to fight anyone with new ideas.
This is why we are a community. Even when we don't have the same experiences of attraction or identity, even when we don't do the same things, even when we have wildly different ideas of a good time. Because when these groups take aim, we're all under fire, and none of us is responsible for why they hate us.
In some ways I think it's a miracle that there seems to be a generation that did not grow up, as I grew up, constantly glued to news reports about What Percentage of Society Hates Us this month. I can't imagine who I'd be if my brain and heart and soul hadn't been tied up, that whole time, in the political question of whether I'd get to dream of a decent future.
I think that it will give us strength to have people who can imagine a world where no one hates us. Who believe in it so strongly they can taste it. That's my prediction: If you didn't know this was coming, you'll be a boon to us, because we have always needed joy so fiercely, in this fight, to keep us going on. We have needed drag queens and punk bands and "her wife" and safe space stickers. Parade floats and wedding days and little dogs with rainbow collars, badges and banners and meetups, because more than anything else we need to fight our own despair, and our fear that the world will never get any better than this.
It will. We know it will. We can taste it.
Look up to the history, organizations, and people who've got us this far for information on what forms of activism will actually advance our political goals. Look to the side to make sure the comrades within reach are keeping their heads above water, and that you're keeping enough joy going to stay alive. Look back to see who's more vulnerable than you are that you might have forgotten or been tempted to leave behind. Look after each other. Look after yourself.
We can do this.
To your battle stations.

✦°. COFFEE SHOP - gojo satoru
notes: someone asked me to do this! i don't even like coffee but anything for my man 🙌
Tumblr media
"toru, honey, i think this is the seventh time we've walked past that tree."
your boyfriend of two years simply smiles, an innocent look on his face as he walks alongside you. there's a skip in his step - the kind that tells you he's got something up his sleeve.
the fallen leaves crunch satisfyingly underfoot, each one painted with individual hues of deep reds, burnt oranges, and bright yellows.
"really? i haven't noticed." he sings, looking rather happy with himself.
you huff a laugh into the chilly autumn air, deciding not to push the matter any further. satoru probably didn't know, but you already knew what he was doing; walking around in circles just to spend more time together.
it warms your heart, really. he'd been so excited this morning, insisting that you go on a date to the newest coffee shop that recently opened near your shared home. if you're being honest, you really want that coffee, but you'll be patient just for him.
satoru looks as happy as ever, a lopsided grin etched onto his beautiful features while he lightly swings your intertwined hands as you walk. the tips of his fingers are ice cold, but he barely feels it over the warm and fuzzy feeling that blooms in his chest.
he presses his face further into the material of his scarf - the one you gifted him last christmas - his already pink nose finding refuge in its fabric.
"we've passed that old lady a couple times too," you tease gently, "are you sure you know where you're going?"
satoru's smile grows ever larger as he shoves both yours and his hand into his trenchcoat pocket, squeezing it lovingly.
"'course i do, baby. we're almost there." he reassures, crystalline eyes looking down at you fondly.
you raise an eyebrow skeptically, bumping your hip against his (it's more of his thigh because he's so tall) causing him to stumble a little.
"whatever you say, sweets." you say.
he glares at you in mock offense, "no, i really do!"
"i know you do, toru. you've been taking the wrong turn purposefully for the past twenty minutes."
your boyfriend halts in his tracks, the tips of his ears turning pink from either the cold or the embarrassment of being caught. he groans, clearly upset about his plan being foiled.
"i would have taken us there eventually," satoru protests, "i just wasn't ready yet!"
you laugh, taking his hand again and pulling him in the direction of the shop. "there's no reason we can't walk with our coffee."
he groans again, louder this time, as he trails after you like a lost puppy. "there's no reason you had to see through my perfect plan!"
you roll your eyes, leaning into him to share body heat. though his extremities were always cold, the rest of satoru had become your personal furnace. he immediately shifts closer, as close as he can be while walking, eager to please.
"it was far from perfect babe," you retort. "who takes the same wrong turn seven times in a row?"
"it was not seven!" he objects immediately, pouting. it was seven, you had counted.
"sure, it wasn't," you respond dryly.
the bell of the cozy coffee shop chimes as you open the door. if it wasn't for your love of coffee, you may have let him have his way for just a little longer.

Could you write a dom! top! taehyun x dom! bot! male reader where althought the reader tries to fight for dominance he ends loosing and getting roughly tamed by taehyun as a punishment? A setting where taehyun is back sweating from his gym session would probably make the plot even better!
We're Even
Tumblr media
Minors DNI
Summary: Taehyun is irresistible and doesn't even know how it affects you as he walks around half-naked. You end up mixing with some of his clothes mixed in with your laundry, and he catches you closely "examining" them.
Warnings: Male Reader, Gym ray Taehyun, Blowjob, Forced Deepthroat, Gagging, Creampie, Rough Sex, Overstimulation, Light Biting, Underwear Stealing, Olfactophilia (Smelling Kink)
Wordcount: 2.3k
There was a soft knock at your door that woke you up from your nap. "Come in," you groaned as you rubbed your eyes.
The door opened to reveal Taehyun, hair dripping, pecs soaked, and half naked with a towel around his waist. "Hey, y/n, I'm gonna head out soon. Did you want me to get you anything?"
You tried to look at him, but there was nowhere that was respectful. His muscular arms, beautiful chest, and happy trail led downward toward the towel where you could make out a bulge between the folds of fabric. "Um, I can't think of anything right now, I'll text if I think of something." Taehyun nodded as he left, pulling the door closed. You wished you'd snapped a picture to look at him again. You were rock hard already with just a quick look at him. You'd been living with Taehyun for almost a year now. You thought he was cute when you met him, but as soon as he got comfortable around you he was fine showing you how much of a man he was. Flaunting his body as he watched TV shirtless, flexing in the mirror with the bathroom door open, what killed you most of all was when he would touch you. When he touched you, he was so gentle like he was scared to hurt you.
You were snapped out of your daydreaming as Taehyun's voice was at your door again. "I'm gonna go to the gym, I'll be back later. Don't forget about your clothes in the dryer, I want to wash my clothes when I get back." You heard the front door open and close behind Taehyun, leaving you alone in your shared space.
Sitting in your room, lying on the bed, you groaned as you rolled off the bed and shuffled into the laundry room. It was better to get it out of the way now. The room was warm from the dryer, which finished its cycle. You placed your basket at the mouth of the dryer and opened it, letting the warm bundle fall. After emptying the dryer, shifting the ones in the washer into the dryer, and bringing your dry clothes into your room, you spilled your basket onto your bed to start folding and hanging them up. While sorting, you noticed a pair of underwear and a muscle shirt. all of which weren't yours. They must be Taehyun's, somehow getting mixed in with your clothes. You picked them up to take them to his room, catching a whiff of his scent.
It smelled light, clean, and maybe a hint of lavender. Taehyun's detergent that he liked... You looked at the clothes in your hand again, and the urge to bring them closer to your face took over. Your nose met the fabric as you breathed in, smelling your roommate's scent. You're not a bad person. Your roommate, Taehyun, must've forgotten to take his stuff out and you mixed his clothes with yours. He was out at the gym for at least another two hours. Why did that matter? You threw the clothes onto the bed but instantly wanted to smell them again. It would be okay. Just one more, then put the clothes back. He wouldn't even know... You steeled yourself as you lay on your bed, holding his clothes to your face as you breathed Taehyun. Your cock was harder than before, probably leaking at this point, thinking about Taehyun. Thinking about if Taehyun were in your arms, holding you.
Your body moved on its own, sliding your pants down enough for your cock to slip free. Slowly, stroking yourself as you sniffed your roommate's clothes. You felt filthy, gross, and ashamed. It was amazing, tingly, and so good. You wrapped Taehyun's shirt around your hand as you jerk yourself off with it, and smelled his underwear.
His smell was intoxicating. You needed more...
You hid his clothes in your drawer, folded neatly under your clothes. Then you crept into Taehyun's room, opening his closet and digging into his dirty clothes. These clothes were better, and the smell was heavier. His sweat–a heavy musk stuck to his clothes, the strongest on his gym clothes. You stole the clothes, ran back to your room, and closed your door behind you. The material of his shirt was so soft, and the smell of his used underwear made your eyes roll. You fisted your cock so fast it burned slightly, but it was all so amazing! It was so amazing that you couldn't hear the front door. Or footsteps. Or a soft knock at your door before it softly opened.
Taehyun walked in to see you cumming all over yourself; his shirt around your cock, his underwear shoved into your face, and your blissed-out expression that turned to fear as you noticed him.
"Tae–" You scrambled to cover yourself, throwing his clothes behind you. "It's not what you think. I–It was just..." You gave up trying to explain as you felt the reality of the situation on you. Taehyun's expression was a mix of surprise and blankness. You couldn't tell what he was thinking but knew it wouldn't be good.
"...I," Taehyun started but shut his mouth. He turned, closed your door, and felt you sitting in your guilt.
You threw back on your clothes and ran to his room, knocking rapidly. "Taehyun, please, let's talk about this." The door opened, and Taehyun stood in the doorway with the same expression.
"What's there to talk about?"
"I want to try and talk about what you saw."
"I know what I saw. You know what you did. Let's leave it." He tried to close the door, but you pushed your way into his room. "Y/n, don't do this," Taehyun warned.
"Just let me speak! Please," Your voice wavered. Taehyun didn't want to hear you as he tried to push you back toward the door. "Tae–" You pushed against him, taking the both of you to the floor with you on top of him. The two of you wrestled for control. You don't even know what you'd do when you got him to hold still, but he had to listen. You couldn't let it sit. You managed to lift a leg around him and flip him under you, pinning his arms to the sides of his head as you sat on his lap.
"Is this what you want!?" He shouted.
You flinched. "No! I made a huge mistake, and I'm sorry! I regret doing that, I wasn't thinking straight." Your hands tightened around his wrists as he resisted you.
"That doesn't mean you didn't enjoy it, right?"
You lowered your head as he stared at you. "I did enjoy it... It smelled really good, but I know I shouldn't have done it.
"Smelled good?" His voice was full of disgust. "You wanted to smell me?"
"It was an accident at first. Our clothes got mixed up, I ended up smelling them, and it spiraled from there."
Taehyun managed to twist his leg to push you off him. He grabbed you by the hair and forced you into his armpit. "This is what you wanted?"
You instantly smelled his armpit, the smell had deodorant with an undertone of sweat. Your cock was already getting hard again, even when you tried to hold it in. "Taehyun, what are you doing!?"
"Giving you what you wanted. Since you were okay enough smelling my clothes, I'm sure you don't mind getting the smell from the source." Taehyun pushed you more, making his pit touch your nose, giving you no choice but to breathe him in. "Look at you, you're not even trying to fight back. You're hard as a rock. Sure, look sorry to me." Your tongue darted out and licked his armpit, this chemical taste of deodorant coating your tongue. The taste was horrible, but the feeling of having licked his skin made yours jump. Taehyun pushed you away from him, wiping the wetness on his underarms. "You licked me!? You're such a weirdo!"
"I–" You tried to find the words to make things less bad, but there weren't any. "I am a weirdo. I'm a freak. I'm a loser that loves your body, Taehyun." Your face burned as you spoke, "I know we can't go the way things were, so do whatever you need to. Tell me what I need to do to make things even. I'll stay out of your way, stop talking to you, even move out if you want." You were on your knees, looking up at him as you begged for a second chance.
Taehyun looked down at you with an exasperated look. "You want to be even. Fine." He started untying the drawstring on his sweatpants, pushing them down to reveal he'd been commando. His cock was hard, pointing at you angrily. "Make it even. Take care of me. Wherever I am, whenever I want." You couldn't believe your eyes or ears. Taehyun's cock was out in front of you, and you were being told to suck it? Your hesitation made Taehyun impatient as he stepped forward and pulled your hair, making you yelp. "Yes, or no? If you say Yes, we can find a way past this. No, means you can move the hell out."
You nodded quickly. "Y-Yes! I pick yes!"
Taehyun's face had a tint of pink in his tan cheeks as he looked down at you, his cock covering some of your face in the most disgustingly sexy way. "Then, start working," He commanded. You wrapped your hands around his cock, making Taehyun hiss as you stroked him. "M-More," His voice wasn't as stern, more embarrassed. He wrapped his hand around yours, moving you the way he wanted it as he looked around. He tried looking down at you, but every time he saw you looking at him–which made him too embarrassed to hold your gaze. When you started getting the strokes on your own, his hands moved to your shoulders as he held you for balance. "It's good, really good. I want your mouth too." Your mouth watered at the thought, your brain already buzzing into a cock-drunk haze. You wrapped your lips around his cock, tongue eager to explore him. His smell was strongest here, which only made you work harder. His tip was extremely sensitive, every time you sucked on it Taehyun would lose it. "No fucking teasing. Go deeper already," He commanded through gritted teeth. You were so focused that you couldn't hear him, attacking his sensitive spot as his whole body twitched and convulsed. You felt his hand clamp down on your head and force you to take him completely, making you choke. Taehyun didn't let you go, holding you there as he tried to calm down from your sudden attack. He only let you go when you tapped his thigh rapidly.
You ripped yourself off his length, coughing. "You choked me!"
"You weren't listening. If you don't listen, then you'll get punished more. So try using your head–not that it's good for anything other than being a dirty freak anyway." Taehyun pushed you onto your back, yanking at your pants until he managed to tear them away from your body. "Flip the hell over," He ordered as you heard him stroking his cock. You flipped onto your stomach, waiting for what you knew was coming next. "C-Can–Is this okay?" Taehyun's voice was back to his sweet and softer side.
You looked back to see the earlier irritation fading, he looked genuine in his question. Even when hate-fucking you, he still cared enough about you. You nodded, "I want this. And I already said I'd do this to make us even."
Taehyun smirked as he lined himself up at your hole. "Then, I don't want to hear any crying later." He pushed into you, forcing your unprepared walls apart painfully. Taehyun was kind and patient with you, waiting for you to signal it was okay to continue. When you moved your hips back into him, arching your back, Taehyun got your signal. He held himself over you as if he were doing push-ups and moved his hips forward, slamming into you. Your eyes rolled back at the sudden rush of sensation, and Taehyun didn't stop or slow down as he went to town on your body. He fucked you hard. The sound of skin slapping and your moaning sounded through the apartment. You could feel Taehyun's sweat dripping onto your back as he kept up his impossible speed. It must've been his unused stamina from skipping the gym because Taehyun fucked you like that for almost fifteen minutes without finishing.
You were crying, having finished twice already. "Please, Tae. No more..."
"Not yet, we're done when I say so," Taehyun said between breaths. His pace that he'd kept up started to slip, his rhythm was messy and his thrust focused more on power rather than speed. He was reaching his end... You bit your hand as Taehyun slammed into you, and he finally hit his first orgasm with a loud groan. "That's it, freaky boy, here's what you've been waiting on." There was so much cum, you could feel it overflowing out of your whole while Taehyun's cock filled any empty space with more. He collapsed on top of you, putting his cock as deep as possible inside you as he rested his head in the crook of your neck.
Your body was stiff, your back hurt, and your ass was definitely going to feel that for a few days. "So, we're even now?"
Taehyun chuckled. "Not by a long shot. I'll take it easy on you today, but maybe you'll be my new cardio workout for a while." You groaned at the thought as Taehyun kissed your neck comfortingly...

𝙒𝙃𝙀𝙉 𝙍𝙊𝙊𝙈𝙈𝘼𝙏𝙀𝙎 𝙎𝙃𝘼𝙍𝙀 𝙈𝙊𝙍𝙀 𝙏𝙃𝘼𝙉 𝙅𝙐𝙎𝙏 𝙎𝙋𝘼𝘾𝙀
⤷ fem!reader x michael kaiser ⤷ wc: 800+
synopsis: your annoying n' teasy roommate 'steals' your first kiss :(
Tumblr media
"but we're roommates," you protest uselessly as kaiser's large hand clasps your wrists above your head. your eyes fix on him eagerly, widening, unconsciously fluttering your lashes in a desperate attempt to tempt him further.
your chest rose and fell rhythmically, fingers growing numb with stress under the weight of your roommate’s mocking grin.
seriously, where does he get his confidence from? did he think his good looks could excuse his arrogance?
wellll, your submissiveness wasn’t exactly helping your case here. if anything, it was fueling his already inflated ego.
you were putting no effort to stop him— you didn’t really want to. you released the tv remote from their hold, letting it plummet clumsily onto your lap.
ever since kaiser moved into your shared apartment a year ago, you’ve secretly harboured this shameful desire to be his. but now, as the thick sexual tension suffocated the room, you questioned your foolish movie choice.
the characters on the screen, passionately making out, had made you quite nervous earlier. you would steal quick glances at the german from the corner of your eye, hoping he wasn't put off.
the smirk that played its way onto his lips told a different story, however. perhaps he had been aware of your feelings for him all along, patiently waiting for this moment— the perfect opportunity to make his move.
"hmm. so what?” he chuckles, gently pushing you onto the couch as he releases your wrists and hovers over you, your hands instinctively finding their way onto his broad shoulders. he rests his palms against both your cheeks and leans in achingly slow— as if he relishes in tormenting you. “being roommates only makes this all the more exciting, don’t you think?”
“t-that’s…” you close your eyes tightly, welcoming the warmth that spreads across your cheeks.
this was the moment you’d deeply fantasized about for so long. you hadn’t known that the confidence you’ve once shown in your dreams would fade away ridiculously quick when you actually got to experience it.
swallowing the lump of pride in your throat, you whisper out a defeated sigh. “f-fine… only ‘cause it’s you, though.”
“now we’re talkin’, prinzessin,” his eyes crinkled in mischief, “be a good girl for me and keep your eyes closed, yeah?”
you were for once so unusually obedient, and you were willing to be so a million times over if it spared you from seeing the smirk on his face grow more and more smug with each passing moment.
you gulp audibly as he lays completely over you, his chest pressing firmly against yours as you feel his hot breath brushing against your face.
you had the deep urge to open your eyes, just so you could catch a glimpse of him on the verge of kissing you, but it vanishes instantly as you feel a soft sensation pressing against your plump lips.
“chu,” you reciprocate the kiss eagerly, only to be met with the sound of loud, haughty laughter.
your eyes immediately snap open, but freeze as you realize that the soft sensation you felt earlier wasn’t his pretty lips after all, but his two fingers placed on your lips.
a deep flush creeps up your cheeks. how long could you endure your roommate’s playful antics?
“kaiser!” you huff, folding your arms against your chest. “that’s not funny!”
he chuckles again, running his fingers through his hair in that irritatingly confident way, his usual cocky expression returning to his face. “couldn’t help it, pretty. you looked so fucking adorable, i just had to.”
“that was so embarrassing!” your lips purse in dissatisfaction, “and here i actually wanted to ki–”
with one swift movement, his arm encircles your waist and brings you impossibly closer to him, and without hesitation, captures your pouty lips in a kiss.
you remain frozen as he pulls away, a cheeky smirk tugging on his lips. you blinked at the air in disbelief before guiding your finger to your bottom lip, gently poking at it to make sure this wasn’t just another dream.
“kaiser…” you softly murmur as the realization that you had just received a kiss from the michael kaiser slowly dawned upon you.
“you look crazy,” he laughs smugly, “was my kiss that good? you look like you’re about to pass out, princess.”
“it was my first kiss…”
he grins, “yeah, i could tell.”
“hey!” you narrow your eyes at him as he raises his hands in defeat.
“sorry, sorry,” he smiles, glancing back at the tv. the football player reaches for the remote and turns off the screen before laying back on the couch. “oh and for the record, the movie was absolute garbage,” he comments, “but i’ll give it a 9.9 out of 10 for the adorable moment it gave us.”
you raise an eyebrow, “not a 10?”
“well,” kaiser lifts his head up to look at you with a smirk plastered across his face, “we’ll have to keep kissing and find out.”

BTS Reaction || Sharing A Bed With Their Crush

⤜MASTERLIST
SEOKJIN:
Jin's heart raced as he lay next to you, his longtime crush, in a cosy cabin tucked away in the mountains. You'd been friends for years, but tonight was different. Tonight, you were sharing a bed, and every nerve in his body tingled with anticipation.
You shifted slightly, your breath warm against Jin's cheek. His mind raced with a million thoughts and emotions, but he struggled to find the courage to speak. He stole glances at you, admiring the gentle curve of your profile in the soft moonlight filtering through the window.
As the minutes ticked by, his nerves began to settle, replaced by a sense of peace and contentment. He marvelled at the warmth radiating from your body, feeling a connection he had never experienced before.
With a gentle touch, you reached out and intertwined her fingers with his. His heart skipped a beat, and he felt a surge of courage wash over him. Taking a deep breath, he turned to face you, your eyes locking in a silent exchange of emotions. The two of you didn't need to say anything to understand what this meant to each other, you simply cuddled closer to his chest, placing a soft and small kiss on his cheek as you relaxed for the night.
YOONGI:
The storm raged outside, its fury echoing through the walls as Yoongi lay in his bed, wide awake. Thunder crashed overhead, shaking the very foundation of his house, he hated storms not because he was scared but because he knew what they did to you. He could already tell you were going to be in your room shaking like a leaf. He'd texted you not long ago to ask if you were okay but you'd not read it, which worried him, he was about to get out of bed until a timid knock on the bedroom door shattered his calm.
"Yoongi?" Your voice was barely a whisper, but it cut through the chaos of the storm like a beacon in the night. Yoongi's heart skipped a beat at the sound of your voice.
"Yn? Come in," The door creaked open, and you peeked inside, your eyes wide with fear.
"Can... can I come in? I-I'm scared." Without hesitation, Yoongi pushed aside the covers and scooted over to make room for you.
"Of course, come here." You hurried into the room, your steps quick and tentative. You climbed into bed beside Yoongi, your body trembling with each clap of thunder. Yoongi instinctively wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close to his chest.
"It's okay, Yn. I've got you." you buried her face in his chest, seeking comfort from the storm raging outside. Yoongi could feel the rapid beat of your heart against his own, matching the rhythm of his own racing pulse. As lightning illuminated the room, he felt a surge of protectiveness wash over him. He stroked your hair gently, murmuring words of reassurance as you weathered the storm together.
"It's just a storm, Yn. We're safe here," He whispered, his voice a soothing balm against your fears. You nodded, your grip on Yoongi tightening as another peal of thunder rolled through the house.
"Thank you, Yoongi. I don't know what I'd do without you." You admitted, snuggling closer to him, Yoongi smiled, pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
"You'll never have to find out. I'll always be here for you." He whispered as you cuddled into his chest, enjoying the closeness of him.
HOSEOK:
The anticipation hung heavy in the air as you and Hoseok settled into the small guest room of your friend's house. With only one bed available, you exchanged nervous glances, both acutely aware of the awkwardness of the situation. Hoseok cleared his throat, breaking the tense silence.
"Uh, I can take the floor if you want. I don't want to make you uncomfortable." He suggested, putting his bags down in the corner of the room as your cheeks heated up, shaking your head at him.
"No, it's okay. I don't mind sharing." You assured him, Hoseok's heart fluttered at your words, but his worries persisted, he didn't want to make you uncomfortable.
"Are you sure? I don't want you to feel pressured or anything." You offered him a reassuring smile, you loved him for this.
"I'm sure, Hobi. We're both adults, right? We can handle this." Reluctantly, Hoseok nodded, though the apprehension still gnawed at him. As you settled into bed, he kept his movements carefully controlled, afraid to encroach on your personal space.
But as the minutes ticked by, he couldn't help but steal glances at you, and you at him. Maybe it was the sudden darkness but it gave you the confidence to admit to him that you liked him,
"Hey," You whispered, your voice barely audible in the quiet room. Hoseok turned to look at you, his heart racing.
"Yeah?" You hesitated for a moment, your cheeks burning up once again.
"I, um... I've kinda had a crush on you for a while now." His breath caught in his throat, his mind reeling with disbelief.
"You have?" You nodded, your gaze fixed on the tangled sheets between you.
"Yeah. And I just... I wanted you to know." A rush of emotion surged through Hoseok, overwhelming him with a flood of relief and joy.
"Yn, I... I feel the same way." Your eyes met in a silent exchange of understanding, the tension between you finally breaking like a dam bursting free. With a shy smile, Hoseok reached out and gently brushed his fingertips against your cheek.
"I'm glad we're finally being honest with each other," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. Your smile widened, her eyes sparkling with unspoken promise.
"Me too." And as you drifted off to sleep, hand in hand, Hoseok couldn't help but feel grateful for getting this time with you.
NAMJOON:
The small inn was bustling with activity as you and Namjoon checked in for the weekend getaway. Excited chatter filled the air as you received your room key and made your way down the narrow hallway. The two of you had been looking forward to this break for a long time now and it was finally here.
But as you reached your designated room, your excitement faltered. There, in the cosy space, sat a single queen-sized bed. Namjoon was sure he'd asked for two singles, his heart sank as he glanced at you, his crush since high school.
"Uh, looks like there's only one bed left," he muttered, trying to mask his disappointment. Your cheeks were burning as you nodded. doing your best to avoid his gaze.
"Yeah, seems that way." The two of you stood in awkward silence, neither willing to address the elephant in the room. Namjoon's mind raced with a million thoughts, each more panicked than the last. Finally, you cleared your throat, breaking the tension.
"Well, I guess we'll have to make do. Unless... unless you want me to sleep on the floor?" You didn't mind, the last thing you wanted was to make him uncomfortable. Namjoon's heart leapt at the suggestion, but he quickly shook his head, there was no way he would let you do that.
"No, no, it's fine. We can share. It's not a big deal." You nodded, a relieved smile tugging at the corners of your lips.
"Okay, good."
You busied yourself unpacking your bags, both of you acutely aware of the close proximity forced upon you by the single bed. Namjoon tried to focus on folding his clothes neatly, but every time he glanced at you, his heart skipped a beat.
As you settled into bed later that night, he couldn't shake the nervous energy coursing through his veins. He lay stiffly on his side of the bed, acutely aware of your presence just inches away.
"Hey," You whispered, your voice barely audible in the darkness, Namjoon bit down on his lip before replying,
"Yeah?" He replied, his voice betraying his nerves.
"Thanks for not making this weird," you said softly. Namjoon felt a rush of warmth flood his chest.
"Of course, Yn. We're friends, right?" That question hung in the air for a few seconds, neither of you saying anything as you bit down on your tongue.
"Right," You echoed, your tone filled with gratitude.
JIMIN:
The tent was enveloped in darkness as you and Jimin settled into your sleeping bags for the night. The only source of light came from the faint glow of the stars peeking through the window of the tent. But despite the peaceful surroundings, your unease was palpable. Jimin could sense your tension as he lay beside you, the silence broken only by the occasional rustle of the wind outside.
"Hey, are you okay?" he asked softly, reaching out to place a comforting hand on your arm. You let out a shaky breath, your voice barely above a whisper.
"I'm just... I'm scared of the dark." You admit you'd only come onto the trip with him because you wanted to spend time with him but you never would have imagined being in the dark completely. Jimin's heart went out to you, his own fears momentarily forgotten.
"It's okay, Yn. I'm right here with you." But even as he spoke the words, he couldn't shake the feeling of helplessness washing over him. He had never been good at comforting others, especially someone as special to him as you. As the minutes ticked by, your breathing grew more erratic, your distress becoming more pronounced with each passing moment. Jimin racked his brain for something, anything, that could ease your fears. And then, an idea struck him.
"Hey, do you mind if I turn on a light?" he asked tentatively. Your eyes widened in surprise.
"You don't have to do that, Jimin." You whisper back to him, but Jimin shakes his head, determined to help you feel safe.
"I want to. It's no trouble at all." With a soft click, Jimin switched on the camping lamp, bathing the tent in a warm, comforting glow. You let out a sigh of relief, your tense muscles finally relaxing.
"Thank you, Jimin," You whispered, your voice filled with gratitude. Jimin smiled, his heart swelling with pride.
"Anything for you, Yn." As you settled back into your sleeping bags, bathed in the gentle light of the lamp, Jimin knew that he would do anything to protect you from the darkness, both inside and out.
TAEHYUNG:
As the moon cast a soft glow through the window, Taehyung lay awake beside you, his heart pounding with nerves. The two of you had been friends for years, but tonight was different. Tonight, you found yourselves sharing a bed in a cosy mountain cabin, and Tae couldn't shake the feeling that this was his chance to finally tell you how he felt.
Your breathing was steady and even, indicating that you'd drifted off to sleep. With a deep breath, Taehyung mustered up the courage to speak, though he knew you couldn't hear him.
"I've liked you for so long, Yn," he whispered into the darkness, his words barely more than a breath.
"I've never had the courage to say it, but... I love you." The weight of his confession hung heavy in the air as he waited for a response that would never come. Even though he'd admitted it to you in your sleep he felt a sense of peace now that he'd done it out loud.  But to his surprise, you shifted beside him, your hand finding his in the darkness.
"I love you too, Tae," You murmured, your voice shakey as you smiled to yourself. Tae's heart skipped a beat as he turned to look at you, his eyes wide with surprise.
"You heard that?" You nodded, a shy smile playing at the corners of your lips.
"I've known for a while, but I was too afraid to say anything." You admit to him, your heart thumping rapidly. Tears welled up in Tae's eyes as he reached out to cup your cheek, his fingers trembling with emotion.
"I'm so glad you feel the same way." The two of you lay together in the quiet of the night, your hearts intertwined in a bond stronger than ever before.
JUNGKOOK:
The cabin was quiet, save for the soft rustling of blankets as Jungkook lay stiffly beside you, his crush since forever, god, when he'd agreed to go on this trip with you and his friends he hadn't thought the two of you would be sharing a bed. His heart hammered against his ribcage, threatening to burst out of his chest. You had talked and laughed throughout the evening, but now, with just the two of you sharing a bed, Jungkook's nerves were on edge.
"Um, Yn," he stammered, his voice barely above a whisper. He wasn't usually this nervous around you but sharing a bed was something neither of you had done before.
"Yeah?" Your voice was gentle, and comforting, like a warm hug around him as you slowly turned to face him. A lump formed in his throat as he tried to remember what it was he was going to say to you.
"I, uh... I just want to say... sorry if I'm taking up too much space or anything." He looked at you and you laughed softly, he was right on the edge of the bed taking up hardly any space at all.
"You're fine. Relax. You can come closer," You urged him but Jungkook let out a nervous laugh, but his muscles remained tense. He couldn't shake the feeling of being out of place, of crossing some invisible line between friendship and something more.
"Are you okay?" You finally asked, your tone filled with concern with your friend who seemed on edge.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm good," He replied quickly, too quickly. He mentally cursed himself for sounding so awkward. Silence settled between you, broken only by the soft hum of the heater. Jungkook's mind raced, desperately searching for something to say, some way to break the tension.
"You know," he began tentatively, "I've never really done this before. Shared a bed, I mean." You turned to look at him, his face lit by the small light on the bedside table, your expression softening.
"Me neither." The admission eased some of his anxiety, knowing that you were both in uncharted territory. Emboldened, he reached out and tentatively brushed his fingertips against yours.
"Sorry," he muttered, pulling his hand away quickly. "I shouldn't—" But before he could finish his sentence, you intertwined your fingers with his, squeezing gently. His breath caught in his throat, his heart pounding in his ears.
"It's okay," You whispered, her voice barely audible in the quiet room, you pulled him closer to you, wanting nothing more than to be close to him.

The show playing in front of you was the last thing on your mind. Your fingers were messing with the engagement ring on your finger, a common nervous habit you’ve picked up since Peter asked you to be his.
A million thoughts were swirling around in your mind, mostly about the wedding. You knew it wasn’t until a while, but still, you couldn’t stop your mind from thinking on its own. Marrying Peter was never a doubt in your mind. You loved him with your entire being and you would marry him tomorrow if you could. But would Peter feel the same in a year when your big day finally arrived?
His hand on your thigh suddenly became very heavy as anxiety bubbled in your stomach. The air around you felt like it was constricting your ability to take a deep breath.
At the beginning of your relationship, Peter let you know that he’d rather you talk to him about issues rather than keep them locked away. He knew your tendency to overthink affected your life, so to ease both of your worries, he reassured you that he’d keep an ear open for you to talk to. You decided that this was the perfect time to talk, but having the courage to do so scared you.
Peter knew something was off even before you realized you needed to talk about it. His ability to focus on you with his heightened senses came in handy for situations like this. The second you started fidgeting with the ring he got you made his awareness double, and as soon as he felt you tense, he was just waiting for you to say something.
And with a deep breath, you did, “So…Do you actually like me?”
Peter’s head whips around to look at you in an instant, not like he was paying attention to whatever was playing on the TV. He knew you would say something, but it definitely wasn’t that. “Bug, we have been together for four years. We’re getting married next year. What the hell do you think?” He huffed a laugh at the end of the question, his hand moving up and down your thigh in reassurance.
You give him a sheepish smile in response, your face warming at his response. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know what I was thinking,” you’re embarrassed for even thinking that. A wave of shame washes over you.
“Hey, come here,” Peter opens his arms for you to scoot closer to him, your head resting on his chest while his arm wraps around your shoulders. “Don’t feel sorry for anything your pretty head comes up with,” he whispers into your hair, “I’m going to be with you for forever and ever, and I promise you that.”
You tilt your head up to look into his eyes. The beautiful brown eyes pull you in, but you don’t mind. If you could lose yourself in Peter’s eyes, you would do it and never complain. Leaning in, you press a warm kiss on his lips. He smiles into the kiss, his arm wrapped around you pulls you in closer. “Love you, Pete,” you mumble. Your words make Peter’s heart explode.
Pulling away for a breath, his gaze falls over your flustered features, “I can’t wait to be old and gray with you.”

Can you do a Jess Mariano blurb where the reader is helping Jess with his homework but he keeps trying to distract her by kissing her lips and neck? 😄 (think of the episode “teach me tonight” but with Jess and the reader dating and he’s kissing her like he kissed Rory in S3 EP10 when they’re walking and kissing)

a/n! took me forever ‘m sorry!!! this is also not my best work but back & writing for my boy is good enough for me. <3
the diner was quiet on the particular evening. despite the typical eight o'clock late dinner rush, the door were locked and a red 'closed' sign hung from the blue painted door. the only sound erupting throughout the small former hardware store was the sound of your voice reciting the words from the textbook balanced on your thighs. you were leaned back in your chair, your legs pressed against the table with the book pressed into them. your hair was falling in-front if your face which kept the attention of the boy who sat beside you everytime you pushed it behind your ear.  "and the trail of tears was what year?"
your head bopped up from its current slouched down position as your eyes caught glimpse of the dark haired boy sat beside you. he was leaned on the table, specifically over his book. his head rested on his palm as he held his head up from falling down in boredom.
"is your hair shorter? it looks shorter." your boyfriend was far from an idiot. but in this moment you honestly doubted him. jess was one of the smartest people you'd ever had the privilege of knowing. hell, he was way smarter than you. but here you were sat helping him with history... and geometry, and biology. it wasn't like you were the smartest person in school, but you got your fair share or a's. plus you knew how serious luke was about his nephew passing the twelfth grade. and you'd do anything to get your boyfriend on a good path.
"1828 and 1829." you explained to him simply before continuing onto the next page, him leaning closer to you. it wasn't hard for the smell of cheap cologne, cigarettes, and luke's laundry detergent to catch your attention. especially when you glanced up at your boyfriend's face far too close to your own. "i like it." he mumbled as he lightly pressed his finger to your face, pushing back the strand of hair that fell once more. no matter how long you'd been together, the small touches and glances still made you go mad. "you liked president andrew jackson's racist speech against the cherokee?"
"no," he rolled his eyes at your statement as you tried to diffuse the way he was making you feel on this tuesday evening. "your hair. it's a good length... and you know — i know all about good length."
his comment resulted in a laugh escaping your lips with a smirk growing on his face. jess felt accomplished for making you laugh, especially when you'd just spent half an hour explaining nonsense to him. "okay cmon, back to work." you ordered as he stayed in his exact position. you were about to scold him for not taking this study date seriously. but you lost time when his lips pressed to yours. your eyes immediately shut as your hands cupped his face. he deepened the kiss and leaned over the table to press into you even more. you found yourself getting lost in the kiss that warmed your soul. but before you could be taken by him, you pushed away and pressed your lips together. "jess, we're studying."
"okay we can study," he nodded as he positioned himself back on the chair and balanced a pencil between his fingers. which immediately caught your attention. "i'll start with the inside of your mouth and you can start with mine."
"jess," you hinted with a tone reaching annoyed. he let his smirk grow a bit before glancing around for a moment. "'mkay tell me more about the Indian Removal Act," he shrugged. you gave him a proud smile and muttered a "gladly" before opening the next page and reciting the next paragraph. you were only two and a half sentences in when you felt him move closer to you. and then some more... then some more.
it was when you finished the first paragraph that you felt his dark curls against your jaw as his lips connected with your neck. his arms wrapped around you as he continued to harass your neck with several kisses that would definitely leave a mark. something jess was certainly good at. "jess! we have to study!”
"no, i think you've got this stuff pretty much down." he mumbled as he pulled away for a second before you felt the feeling of his lips reaching your sweet spot. you held in a breath as you found yourself not fighting the feeling for a moment. "you need to learn this stuff if you're going to graduate, jess. please, work with me." you begged as he drew his face away slowly. just enough so that you could face one another. "and after, if you get a b... you might just get something starting with a b.”
the glow on the boy's face suddenly erupted with slightly wider eyes. he simply sat back as he sat his textbook in his lap, leaving only one arm behind your shoulders. "mkay, teach me tonight."

Synopsis: Jisungs a hopeless romantic and gets jealous easily
Content: fluff! cavity inducing fluff so fluffy i wanna cry
pairing: Childhood Bestfriend!Jisung x reader
notes+ WHY DOES NOBODY WRITE FOR JISUNGGGG i had to take matters into my own hands so here you go :D this was originally gonna contain smut but i couldnt help myself with the fluff anyways, enjoy!!
You and Jisung weren't always friends. When your mom introduced her best friends second grader son, 4th grade you didn't mind. Until he started playing with your stuff, jumping on your bed, stealing your snacks, and blaming you on things he did and getting you in trouble.
Naturally, you started resenting him, dreading when he would come over, and chose to ignore him at school, finding it embarrassing whenever he would go over to you and your friends at the playground and ask to play with them. your friends found him cute, but you, you hated him.
Going into your middle school years, he slowly got more tolerable. He started understanding boundaries but still was the same annoying little kid.
In some point of time, Jisung turned from an annoying little kid who yelled and cried all the time to one of your closest friends. And then when he finally started high school, you guys started hanging out willingly, without his mom forcing him to go over.
Some days you would catch him in your living room watching tv with your dog, or accidentally walking in on him showering in your bathroom, or in your kitchen making ramen. Sometimes he would bring his friends over to your house. You honestly didn't mind that much as long as they never broke anything, or disturbed her in any way, which jisung made sure never happened.
"Jisung?? That you??" You yelled from the top of the stairs after hearing feet shuffling and the front door opening and closing. The two of you made plans to watch horror movies and have a sleepover to celebrate the new season of autumn.
"Nope!" Jisung yelled back, making you go downstairs with a grin. But you immediately furrowed your brows and bit your inner cheek, upon seeing 6 other people. you knew them, jisung would bring them around sometimes but you didn’t know them.
"Jisung, whats going on?"
He grinned annoyingly cutely back and held up some convenience store bags up and nodded towards his friends, "They wanted to hang out but my mom banned us from the house after last time.”
You scoff and look at him like he was crazy, "What- are you kidding me?" You say just above a whisper, flickering your eyes between him and the guys behind him, "I thought we were gonna hang out?? You didn't even ask if it was okay to bring them over? if you wanted to hang out with them instead you should've just told me."
With a smirk, jisung was much closer than you remember him being, he tucked a few stray strands of your hand back, "I'm sorry princess i should have asked, hm? If we're too much of a bother we'll quiet down okay?" He pulled away and looked into your eyes, pleading and begging for uou to say yes.
You mask your flustered state with a sigh and wiping your face with your hand as if annoyed.
"Fine, whatever, just— leave me alone im gonna go study" you warn making him grin and ruffle your hair, juxtaposing his previous act. He's called you princess numerous times before, even when you guys were kids but in that tone, that voice, and devilish smile, it felt different.
You wanted to tell him off for joking around with you like that, making you feel that way. It was something you always felt around him but maybe it was his perfectly messy hair, his oversized hoodie making him look so comfy, his soft plump lips, or his hand in your hair, or the name he called you, but the feeling became overwhelmingly strong, like when a candles been burning for hours and slowly the fire grows bigger and it fills the whole room with its pleasant fumes.
You hung around with them for a bit when you took a break from studying because you couldn't focus. but the reason you couldnt focus was sitting right across from you on the couch, sending lingering glances everybody noticed.
When he catches your gaze you turn away with a light blush but when you catch his, he doesnt shy away, keeping eye contact with you with a look in his eye that you couldnt read for the first time.
In the time you got to formally meet his best friends, you surprisingly got along with all of them. Huang Renjun was the one who stuck out the most out of the 7, other than Jisung who kept eyes on you the whole time.
You got to have a one on one conversation with Renjun about each others favorite music artists, which were quite similar, and art itself. You were already interested in art but with the knowledge and story telling Renjun excitedly provided made you want to learn more. So you guys planned a hang out the next day to an art museum Renjun was fond and familiar with.
You posted the day out with him on your story with Art Deco - Lana Del Rey in the background.
Jisung always made sure to heart and reply to your story even if it was as simple as an ootd, but this time he didn't. You furrowed your brows and looked at the views and there he was, also active. You tried texting him regularly but you were left on delivered until 7 hours later but all you got was a
"sorry lol"
It hurt your feelings, you couldn't lie. So you texted him again not even 5 seconds later.
"too busy being active to answer? lmfao"
He leaves it on read for a few minutes before replying
"too busy hanging out with renjun? yk we all made plans tgt”
You scoff at his attitude
"whats your problem?? it was HIS choice to hang out with ME. not like you wanted to."
"chill out i just wanted them to meet you, didn't know you were gonna be all over them tho"
"fuck you."
You threw your phone at the end of the bed and hug your pillow against your chest as tears welled up in your eyes. You didn't know why you were so affected by his words, usually you wouldn't even press him so much about not answering, and would just leave him alone but seeing him be so uninterested left a mark on you.
A few nights later you were watching a scary movie in the darkness of your living room when you heard knocks on your front door. you paused the movie to make sure it wasn't from the tv, and when they come again, you look at the time.
"Who's here at 11:30 at night" You whisper to yourself and cautiously approach the door.
Thunder suddenly struck making you whimper and jump back, but you decide to just rip the bandaid off, after all horror movies aren't real right?
"Jisung?!" You exclaim, seeing him standing there out in the pouring rain with his head down ashamed.
"Hey.."
You quickly let him in, taking his soaked coat off and telling him to wait while you get a towel.
He was silent while you scolded him for being out in the rain so late without so much as an umbrella.
He finally brung his hands from behind his back, revealing your favorite flowers in an articulated assorted bouquet wrapped in paper.
"Sorry if they're kind of ruined.. I ran all the way here" He sniffles and scratched his nape awkwardly.
You bite your lip remembering your last interaction, "You wanna tell me why?"
"I'm sorry y/n im so sorry im such a fucking loser and a coward for getting mad at you  I never wanted to hurt you i just was so angry that you hung out with Renjun that i took it out on you without thinking and ive been trying to figure out how to apologize to you so i went to the flower shop like 10 times in the past 2 days because i wanted to get you flowers but you have 5 different favorite flowers so i got 5 different bouquets for you then realized that was too much so i just got one with 2 of your favorites but felt bad that i left out the other 3 so i got another one with all of them but they didn't look good so i spent the whole day learning how to make a bouquet to make it perfect for you then realized it was already night and thundering and you hate thunder so i ran all the way here and now they look horrible and ugly and-"
"JISUNG." You put a stop to his rant with a chuckle and put your hands on his pink dusted cheeks. He pants out and looks in your eyes to find any anger or disgust in them but you were smiling, "Hey its okay, i promise its okay," You take the flowers from his hands and bring them up to your face to smell them, "they're beautiful ji, seriously."
He takes another pan over your face to scan your expression to really make sure you weren't mad and one he realized that, he lets out the breath he was holding and chuckles, then laughs a bit harder.
You laugh along with him then card your fingers through his wet hair, "Did you really learn how to make a bouquet of flowers for me? And run all the way here in the rain?" You ask, softly now.
He smiles and takes your hand away to hold it instead, "Yeah.. you know i would swim across the whole ocean just to get these to you. Also whats wrong with learning a new skill, i always wanted to learn how to.. make assorted flowers.." He dryly chuckles at the end.
you could hear your heart thumping out of your chest when you feel the pressure of his eyes staring into your own, as if trying to answer a question he hasn't asked. so you ask your own.
"Jisung," You start making him nod, "Why were you so upset?" You ask, making you swallow thickly.
and suddenly you're hyper aware of everything going on, your breathing, your blinking, the rain and thunder, his facial expressions, his thumb caressing your hand.
Jisung doesnt answer for a second, trying to find the right words. His mouth was drying up, he opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out so he gulped.
He was now holding your hand with both of his hands, "I love you." he blurted, "I love you and Im selfish and only want you to myself, I just wanted to treasure you for my myself and not let other people see how amazing and perfect you are because i was scared you'd fall for them and forget about me so when i saw you were with renjun and saw how excited you were to talk to him and hang out with him i felt.. rejected? in a way? like he had something i didn't to make you feel that way. So i was sad and upset and jealous— god, i was so unbelievably jealous, and i know im not allowed to because we're only best friends and you're allowed to be friends and talk to anybody you want to but i just- i just didn't want you to notice anyone else, and leave me.."
He ended his rant with a sigh and closed his eyes shut, mentally preparing for you to laugh in his face and friend-zone him, but it never came.
When he opened his eyes you were just standing there, not saying anything, with a smile on your face.
You giggled as he looked at you with an expectant look.
“Okay.”
His brows furrowed and his hand started slipping from yours “That- thats it? Just okay? You couldn’t have let me down any better-“
“Okay, I wont leave you.”
His expression softened, watching as you laughed and hugged him tightly, burying your face in his chest, “Jisung park, I will never leave you and you can never leave me, if you do i’ll have to kill you.” You tried to threaten him but he just found you adorable, and picked you up in his arms.
You guys laughter filled the room, bouncing around the rooms, sounding almost louder than the rain and thunder.
Suddenly, your enemy turned into your bestfriend who turned into your lover. And you couldn’t have it any other way.

Perfectly harmless.
You very highly doubted that claim was true.
"Well," he said, tilting his head a little closer, "mostly harmless."
Still, almost as if to prove it, Shanks released his hold around your waist, his hand resting at your lower back a moment before slipping away to hold the cell door open for you. You stumbled just a little on your first steps out of the cell, your legs trembling, stiff and weakened in equal measure from three days and two nights stuck with the very limited range of movement that your bindings had allowed.
"Easy, now," said Shanks lightly, briefly slipping his arm around your back to steady you by your waist. "You haven't been on your feet in days, you can take a minute to get your footing. We're not in any rush."
"R...right," you said, uncertainly. You swallowed as he helped guide you over to the brig officer's desk, where you sat heavily in the chair, stretching your legs out for a moment. "I still don't really want to stay here too long. Three days has been more than enough." You leaned forward, pulling your swords across the desk and resting your forehead on one of of the black leather sheaths, laying your hand over the hilt. "Don't want to keep the crew waiting, either."
"Ah, they'll be busy a while," he said dismissively, pulling himself uo to sit on the desk. "There's a good bit of cargo to transfer." He nodded down at the swords. "Yours, I take it?'
You nodded, lifting your head. "I didn't even know if they were brought on the ship or not," you said. "My father made them for me." He had made them just over ten years ago, given them to you on your fourteenth birthday.
"Well, he was damned skilled. They're beautiful. May I?" He gestured a hand toward them. "If you don't mind."
"Go ahead," you said. You lifted one of the cutlasses and drew to from its scabbard, handing it over. His hand brushed across yours as he took the blade, clearly intentionally if the small smirk that briefly curved the corner of his lips was any indication. You watched him flip it deftly in one hand, holding it upright, his eyes scanning slowly down the edge of the blade.
"And well cared for. Sharp as a razor," he commented, impressed. He turning it sideways, flipping it around once more and nodding. "He teach you anything about smithing?"
You shook your head. "Not much," you said. "My brother was his apprentice. He taught me maintenance mostly. He instructed me in a few different weapon types, but swords were always my favorite." You took the weapon back when he handed it off to you, slipping the blade back into its scabbard. "And his."
"Experienced thief, weapons expert...." He leaned back a bit, smiling as he shook his head. "Yeah, you'll fit right in, sweetheart."
The way he was looking at you, the way his eyes burned into yours, had your face growing a little warm again as you turned your own gaze away, swallowing nervously. It wasn't as if no one had ever flirted with you before; you were honestly pretty used to it, ever since you had ended up living in the streets, used to crude comments and catcalling.
And yet here sat an incredibly notorious pirate captain, being incredibly respectful about it, all but making you swoon every time he lowered his voice or so much as touched your hand.
You stood from the chair, picking up your swords and setting to strapping them to your belt at either side of your hips, glancing down at the Marine cadet still bound in the corner of the room as his eyes passed between you and Shanks. You had never been around any pirates before now, but you had encountered your fair share of Marines, as many of them had been customers at your father's smithy.
Many of them had been self-righteous prats, and all the Marines aboard this ship had treated you like scum they had dragged in on the bottom of their boots.
"I think I will fit in fairly well," you finally said, quietly.
"Now that's the spirit!" His enthusiasm was honestly infectious, and you couldn't help but smile a little as he slipped off of the desk. "There's a fair chance you'll end up with a bounty on your head once word of your escape reaches Marineford, anyway. Between that and breaking into a base in a major city." He still sounded particularly amused about that as he rest his hand over the small of your back, stepping over the Marine cadet as if he weren't even there. "I'm eager to find out how you managed it. Oh, no, not yet," he added when you opened your mouth to respond. "I'm sure the whole crew's going to want to hear that tale."
Well, it was quite a tale. You were honestly surprised you had made it as far as you had before getting caught.
Before everything went to hell in a handbasket.
You lifted a hand to shield your eyes as you emerged onto the bustling deck of the ship; the mid-afternoon sun was blinding after days of only seeing it through one small, rounded window in the brig. The Red Hair crew was working quickly and steadily on robbing the Marine ship completely blind, right before their eyes—the entire crew of around fifty Marines was tied up on the deck, bound at their hands and feet, the captain and his officers situated at the center mast to give them the best possible view of the entire debacle.
Shanks called and motioned for his own officers to line up at the starboard side of the caravel, and took his time in introducing you to each of them individually. He glanced back occasionally at the Marines' captain and mates with a smirk, clearly reveling in their growing annoyance.
"Our newest thief has two years experience," he dragged on loudly, pacing slowly between you and his officers—many of whom were cracking up themselves, well aware that the whole spectacle was being orchestrated for the sole purpose of riling up the captive Marines, "and was arrested for—if you can believe it—breaking into a Marine base in a major port city in Arabasta with only one accomplice, and getting so far as to open their treasury vault before being captured."
And he paused for effect at that, waiting as the crew began to break into laughter, as you struggled to keep a straight face yourself, glancing toward the infuriated Marine captain, who had told you before shoving you into the brig a few days ago that he would personally see to it that you never saw the light of day again. For once in your life you were seeing karma in real time—and it was a positively beautiful sight to behold.
"And I'm sure we're all dying to know," Shanks went on, ceasing his pacing and stopping just in front of you, grinning, "how the hell she managed it."
He had given you more than enough time to go over the details in your head. A lot of your success had been pure dumb luck, for sure, but you drew up your resolve to relay it.
"Overheard a few cadets in a tavern talking about how the vaults were never heavily guarded...and the roof access was never locked." His eyebrows shot up toward the bright red fringe of his hair as you spoke. His officers glanced between each other. "A couple days later we climbed the back wall of the base. Knocked out a couple Marines at the top floor, stole their uniforms, and made our way down."
"Bullshit." All eyes shifted onto the Marine captain when he spoke up, glaring daggers at you. "That base is constructed out of sandstone. Five stories of completely smooth stone. There's no way anyone could climb the walls."
"Tell your comrades at the base to check the back wall for holes," you said coldly, your eyes lingering on his. "We used climbing spikes."
The man's teeth gritted together in a visible scowl. You turned your head back toward the snickering pirates, in time to see Shanks mumble something to Benn, who rolled his eyes and scoffed.
Then you heard the Marine captain behind you again, speaking in a low growl. "Disrespectful wench." You turned your head in time to watch him spit at the heel of your boot.
"Disrespectful?" Though the rest of his crew continued to chuckle, Shanks wasn't laughing as he put himself between you and the oposing captain, his forearm resting over the hilt of his saber at his hip. "I get the impression you haven't done much to earn anyone's respect," he said. "That being said, respectfully, captain...."
And with that, he placed the heel of his sandal against the man's shoulder and shoved him over. With the Marine's hands and feet bound, there was nothing he could do to right himself—nothing except glare daggers at Shanks as he crouched down in front of him.
"Don't interupt." Shanks gave him a smile and a rather hard clap on the shoulder before straightening back out and turning to face his own crew. "Now—"
"Goddamned pirates," he spat. Shanks looked back over his shoulder at the man. "A thief's a thief," he said viciously, glaring daggers at you from where he lay on the deck floor. "The whore'll rob you lot blind same as she tried with us."
There was scattered chuckling around the Marines as Shanks stared down at the captain for a long, tense moment. You saw something shift in his eyes, the warmth and humor leaving them.
"Whore?" he repeated lightly, raising his eyebrows. His eyes swept around the rest of the Marines, before he turned to you, taking a couple steps closer. He brushed a few strands of hair behind your ear, offering you a warm smile. "I take it," he said slowly, quietly, "this is how you were being treated for the past three days, sweetheart?"
You swallowed, glancing over toward the Marines, whose laughter had quickly subsided. "More or less, yes," you affirmed.
"Hmm." He nodded, his hand drifting down to your shoulder, lifting the torn strap of your black tank top—torn when you had been flung into the cell in the brig by a couple cadets, while the captain stood watch and told you then that you'd never see the light of day again. His eyes shifted over to the Marines again, and he spoke aloud. "Change of plans, men. We take everything from this ship that isn't nailed down...and then we sink her."
The protest from the Marines was immediate, loud and desperate—some begging to be spared, others calling you several other colorful names and shouting claims that you were lying. Even you found yourself staring wide-eyed at the red-haired captain, at the knowledge that he would sink an entire ship just because of how the crew had treated you.
You were beginning to understand the reason for his bounty.
Shanks ignored the Marines entirely—it seemed his mind was made up. "I think we're just about done here." Your eyes remained wide as he turned his head back to meet your gaze, his expression softening into a smile again, his hand resting at your lower back. "What say we get you over to our ship and..." He glanced down at your shoulder briefly, at the broken strap of your shirt hanging down, "maybe find you something to change into."
You nodded, tugging unconsciously at the broken strap to pull the neck of your shirt up. "I...suppose that would be..."
"There's no need to worry, love" He clearly noticed your unease—there was no doubt it was written all over your face. He curled his arm around your back, leaning in a bit so he didn't have to raise his voice over the mounting protest of the Marines behind both of you. "You're part of my crew now, and we always look out for each other." He glanced over at the metal clink of a lighter igniting at his other side, and grinned at his first mate. "Isn't that right, Benn?"
Hi first mate quirked an eyebrow, taking a puff from his cigarette. "What am I agreeing to?"
"Ah, don't worry about it," Shanks laughed. "Anyway—I'll trust you to handle preparations here." He nodded back toward the Marines as the three of you stopped at the starboard railing around the deck, and he leaned forward against it, his eyes scanning over his ship floating only a few feet away, over the rest of the crew getting the supplies they had taken from the Marines organized. "Half a keg of powder should do the trick, we'll bring the rest with us."
"Right," said Benn, stubbing out the cigarette he had just lit on the railing and tucking it behind his ear.
"After you've—"
There was a light metallic clink right behind you—and all three of you heard it, glancing over your shoulders.
In the same instant you drew one of your swords and spun around, leveling it with the Marine officer's throat, Benn had his rifle pointed at the man's forehead. The officer dropped the flintlock pistol he had pointed at Shank's back, his eyes widened in shock, shaking as he slowly raised his hands.
Shanks turned around and leaned back, hanging his elbow over the edge of of the railing and glancing at you with a quick nod of approval. Then he turned his eyes on the Marine, giving a small chuckle and cooking his head to the side a bit.
"Now that wasn't a very smart decision, was it?" he said, grinning. "You could have just snuck by and sent out a distress call. Did you?" he added, lifting his eyebrows.
"I—I—no, I—I just—I—"
"Check," said Shanks, cutting his eyes toward Benn.
Benn gave a short nod, shouldered his rifle, and headed off toward the quarterdeck in quick strides.
The Marine remained standing there, shaking and stammering, his eyes darting between your blade and Shanks as the red-haired captain rolled his gaze back over to you. "Quite a set of reflexes you've got, sweetheart. You said your father trained you?"
You glanced at him only briefly before training your eyes back onto the Marine, and nodded. "We didn't live in a great area," you said. "He wanted to make sure I could defend myself."
"I would have to say he succeeded," he chuckled, shaking his head a little. He leaned back a bit further, placing the toe of his sandal over the Marine's pistol and sliding it across the deck, stooping down to pick it up. "What other tricks have you got up your sleeve?"
"Well," you said, watching as he turned the pistol over in his hands, and then casually reach behind him and drop it overboard. Benn was heading back down the stairs from the quarterdeck with a coil of rope hanging from one shoulder. He seemed to be in no hurry, so clearly no distress signal had been sent off. You went on, "He rigged this for me, in case I ever get disarmed."
You shifted your weight onto one foot, and hit the back of your right boot heel on the deck, and a three inch blade shot out from a slot in the front of the sole.
The Marine drew in a sharp breath, and Benn stopped a few feet away, speaking one word that clearly echoed his captain's wide-eyed expression.
"Shit."
Shank's brief look of shock quickly faded into an almost childlike excitement.
"God, that is brilliant," he laughed, crouching down and tilting his head to examine the blade. "How's it work?"
"Some sort of spring-loaded trigger mechanism," you said. You knocked your heel down again and the blade retracted. You smirked a little yourself as Shanks straightened back out—his enthusiasm truly was contagious. "My father called them 'Ball-Busters.'"
That cracked him up immediately—he leaned his shoulder into the railing, laughing, while Benn gave a scoff and shook his head. "I'd say that's pretty goddamned accurate," the first mate said. "I got it from here," he added, pulling his rifle down from his shoulder and shoving it against the Marine's shoulder as you pulled your cutlass away and slipped the blade back into its scabbard. "Alright, over there with the other assholes," he said, nudging him with the barrel. "We're as sick of being here as you are of having us here."
You watched Benn usher the officer over toward the main mast, feeling oddly as if you were stuck in the middle of some strange dream you might wake up from at any minute—wake up back in the dark and dingy cell below the deck, down in the brig, getting dragged out to be shoved into an even darker cell in Impel Down for the rest of your days.
"Oh, you are just a treat." So lost in that thought were you that you jumped a little when Shanks wrapped an arm around your back again. "Come on, love. Let's get you changed and cleaned up." He pulled himself up onto the railing and stepped into a sturdy plank laid out between his own ship and the Marines', offering you his hand. You took it and he helped pull you up as well, his fingers lacing through yours as he gave you another charming smile. "I'd say you've more than earned it."
Your eyes remained locked for a long, tense moment, his thumb brushing across the back of your hand, your heart racing a little faster—until a particularly strong wave rocked both of the ships and made you stumble a little. He chuckled lightly, before leading you across the plank and onto the main deck of his own ship.
You felt more than a little out of your element a few minutes later, lingering near the door of the captain's quarters with your arms crossed over your stomach while Shanks rifled through a wardrobe against the wall. You were still a little apprehensive, your mind still lingering on the man's decision to sink the Marines' vessel solely on your behalf, but there was a charm about him that was almost intoxicating, and it was drawing you in quickly.
"Don't really have anything that's going to fit you properly," he said, pulling one shirt out and frowning at it before hanging it back up. "But there might be...something...."
You swallowed, glancing around the cabin—at the table to your left that was covered in maps, a desk in the corner with a closed logbook, a four-poster bed in another corner with a pair of floor to ceiling windows that overlooked the port side of the ship. It still all felt uncanny enough to be a dream.
"No...other women on the crew, I take it?" you said slowly.
"No," he affirmed, still pushing aside hangers and frowning. "Not as if it's intentional, it just...turned out that way, I suppose?" He said it with an air of genuine surprise himself that almost made you chuckle. "Seems most women aren't interested in sailing around with a ship full of—ah, this should do," he interjected, pulling out a white shirt on a metal hanger that seemed at least a little smaller than the others. "Probably haven't worn it since I was a teenager," he said, looking it up and down.
He gave the shirt an appraising nod, and then tossed it to you before crossing the room to take a seat at the desk. He noded once more toward the corner by the wardrobe where there stood a fold-out changing screen.
"You'll have to forgive me if I'm a little averse to leaving a stranger alone in my personal quarters. But..." He lifted his hand, smiling, before covering his eyes with it. "I promise I won't peek. Pirate's honor."
You did chuckle a little at that. It wasn't as though you weren't used to changing in less than totally private conditions—you had been living on the streets for just over two years. You crossed the room yourself, ducking behind the divider screen and pulling it out.
"Nor do I wish to be on the recieving end of the Ball-Buster," he added, and you laughed aloud at that.
"I've never actually used it," you said, hanging the shirt over the top edge of the screen and pulling your tank top over your head. "Not as more than a threat a couple times. The sight of it usually gets the point across."
"I can't fathom any circumstance where it wouldn't," he laughed. You heard him sigh after a moment, while you pulled down the hanger and unbuttoned the shirt he had given you. "Out of curiosity," he said finally, "why exactly were you being shipped to Impel Down?" You paused, your eyes flickering up to the changing screen, in the direction of his sillhouette—and noting that from his shadow alone you could tell he still had his hand over his eyes. "That's a privilege normally reserved for pirates and revolutionaries rather than petty local thieves."
"I, uh...." You swallowed, pulling your arms through the sleeves of the shirt. You hadn't been completely clear on every detail, but it seemed now was as good a time as any—even if it was painful to recall. "I...killed two Marines before I was apprehended."
"Did you?" he said lightly.
"Mmm." You set to buttoning the shirt, slowly, glancing toward his silhouette again. "I didn't...really mean to. After...I guess after my brother took a bullet for me, I just sort of...reacted. I don't even really remember much of it. Just—him falling, then them taking my swords and locking me in a storage closet before carting me off to the ship."
You truthfully weren't even sure how long you had remained at the base before being taken to the docks—locked in the dark, your arms wrapped around your knees, wondering if you were ever going to see daylight again, hoping it was all just some awful nightmare you might wake up from.
"That's...." You heard him sigh heavily. "That's a lot." You gave a small hum in agreement, looking down at the shirt, and sighing yourself—it fit you like a nightgown, the hem drooping nearly down to your knees. You shook your head and set to unbuttoning it again.
"I suppose the Marines had a good reason for treating me like trash," you allowed, rolling the hem of the shirt up and tying it in a knot at your midriff. You fastened a few of the buttons above the knot, and set to rolling up the sleeves. "I did kill a couple of their comrades."
"And they killed your brother," he pointed out.
You frowned to yourself, swallowing back a lump forming in your throat at his quiet, understanding tone. You glanced up again when you heard him shift, and watched his shadow stand and cross the room through the screen as you rolled up the other sleeve to just above your elbow. You pulled the screen back just as he reached it, your eyes meeting his the moment you did. The sympathy in his dark eyes was almost enough to break you in an instant. You glanced down at his hand when it came to rest on your shoulder for just a moment before your eyes snapped back to his.
"That doesn't—" He shook his head. "Nothing excuses fifty plus grown men treating a young woman like something a dog dragged in. Particularly not after what you went through." Your gaze fell away from his at that, down to the floor. "I'm assuming from what you've said—and forgive me if I'm wrong—that you'd never..." He paused, seeming to search for the correct words. "You'd never been forced to defend yourself before?"
You shook your head. You had practiced with your swords for years, sparred with both your father and your brother regularly, but you had never been in a situation where you had to truly fight for your life. You had definitely never killed anyone before. You barely recalled the details even now, and you honestly didn't want to remember them at all.
"Oh, sweetheart..." He let out a slow sigh, and wrapped his arm around your shoulders. You closed your eyes as he rest his hand lightly over your head, as a little tension you hadn't even been aware of released from your shoulders. Your head fell forward, resting against his chest, and you closed your eyes as he lowered his head over yours. "Just so we're clear...you don't have to stay here," he said gently, his thumb brushing across the crown of your hair. "You're not a prisoner, you're a guest. You can take a few days to decide. Or longer. But if you do..."
He moved his hand to your cheek, lifting your head gingerly until your eyes met his.
"This crew is like a family." He lowered his forehead to yours, his hand drifting down to your shoulder again as he offered you a warm smile. "And you'll be welcome to stay as long as wish. Alright?"
You swallowed, and nodded.
Lowered your head again, your breath shaking as it left your lungs, and you rest your forehead against his chest again, your eyes closing tightly. You weren't used to this—this degree of kindness, of compassion from much of anyone, much less a stranger...but something in his eyes, in the warmth of his touch, told you that he was being completely sincere.
"Th...thank you," you whispered—you couldn't think of anything else to say than that, nothing that could wholly express the emotion swelling in your chest.
He just chuckled lightly, wrapping his arm around your shoulders again.
"You're welcome, love."

What’s your favorite fairytale?
You hardly remember it now. It's been so long since you've been able to kick back and think back on all those old tales you once loved. Been a while since you've been able to do anything, really. The days drain away by the second with each life you take, and the nights in wait for the next cull. Your equipment receives better care than you’ve had in years.
If you were another person, maybe you'd seek for a change. Scrounge up every coin you earn and never looked back on this world, living free and without needless bloodshed. If only such a life was meant for a person like you. The person deserving of that dream died ages ago, on the day they learned to block out the screams.
He..lp me…
At least… The ones that no longer mattered.
You shift towards the source of the plea, equipping your trusty steel from the fire in which it brewed. It damaged the durability, but was the only way you could properly snuff the weakened voice. Its frightened face reflects in the flat blade of your axe; the bloodstains you weren’t able to remove marking its place as another victim to the flame. You've lost track of how many have fallen before it. At one time, you carved a mark into the handle of your weapon, but you lost the original piece for which you did so. You can’t recall if you stopped keeping track before or after that happened.
You stalk towards your captive like the cautious hero sneaking up to the wicked wolf to save the damsel in red, yet the only one who needs saving is one of you. Your feet grow colder the closer you approach, but lost in determination is not the cause. The snowy flesh and frozen tears of your prey chills the very air to a still. It's your first run in with such a creature, but far from the last. You raise your axe high.
“Please… Have you no heart?”
You would’ve gagged it if you had more rope. There's no reason to reply, for your eyes speak volumes. Silence rains as you bring down the axe.
-
A wet thud sounds as you toss the spoils from your kill on the ground.
“Found this in your barn. It's what's been freezing your crops.”
The farmer's face contorts in disgust, but they keep silent as they shove your payment in your hands and slam the door shut. You hear shouting over whether who will clean up the mess you made, but that's all behind you. With their miscalculation in pay, you should be able to get a decent meal in your system along with the supplies you need. The thought was a little too hopeful as the very second you allow yourself to rest, the ghost of your past comes knocking once more.
“Hunter.”
A note slides across the table you sit at, sealed with crimson wax.
“Your majesty requests your immediate attention.”
You take small bites of your food. The messenger sighs.
“Need I remind you that it's mandatory?”
“Do I have to remind you that I no longer work for that man?”
“This isn't about you or your issues with our king. It's about another.”
Their seldom glance towards the window is all you need to know. You settle your rumbling stomach with a drink of water and pour the remaining contents over the letter.
“Let's go.”
The messenger looks confused, and slightly worried. “I really think you should read-"
You quickly place your axe on the table, blueish blood embedded into the metal. “I said we're leaving. Take me to him, now.”
-
The messenger returns to the castle pale as a sheet and with you in tow. They hand you off to a younger hire to avoid the backlash of your arrival themselves; the servant leading you directly to the king's throne with the same tactic you used on the other party. The king sits in his chair, chatting away to anyone who'll listen to his personal retellings of the past. His general expression shows fearlessness and glee, but the trained eye could see the anxiety practically dripping from this shell of a man. A fear that unsheathes itself as he turns his head towards you. Not a thing has changed since you left.
“Hunter!” The king masks his faulty start with a well placed cough as he rises to his feet, arms raised. “It's been a while, hasn’t it, old friend? I wasn't expecting you until tomorrow. We had a feast planned and everything.”
“I'm not here for pleasantries. Are you finally putting an end to this petty war or not.”
The king struggles to maintain his smile. “Ah, right. Never were one to allow yourself a break were you? Well once this task is complete, you'll have all the time in the world. We believe we've found something that will put an end to everything once and for all.”
He calls a servant to bring the item in question. It's a map. Hand drawn from what you can see. You drew one similar in your youth.
“With the noble sacrifice of our men, we've successfully navigated a path through the cursed part of the forest and straight to the fae king’s castle. There's theory that a hidden passage exists along its walls, but we have yet to figure it out. If anyone is able to, let alone kill that creature, it would be you. We'll prepare you a steed and armor by morning-"
“I'll leave before dawn.”
The king's eyes bulge out of their sockets like you just threatened his life. “Aha, surely you jest. There's the preparations, plus wouldn't it be better to leave on a full stomach and the support of your people.”
“No.”
Your flat, direct tone cancels any further argument. “If that is what you wish… old friend. Allow my staff to escort you to your room.”
-
You settle down for the evening in a room of the king's choosing. The bed is softer than you're used to, but too foreign to provide you with any actual comfort. You don't sleep that night, thinking of the life you'll have after you bring an end to the opposing forces' rule. A happy ending isn’t in the cards for someone like you, but maybe, just maybe- you'll be able to return home.
You refuse the servant's billionth attempt at offering you a warm meal, wolf down the dinner roll you snuck in, and tried to get some sleep with the remaining time you had.
-
You're up once again before the sun can peak over the horizon. The king, reluctantly giving in to your demands, greets you at the front gates with all the equipment his guard had prepared. You pick through it, only taking a water canteen, lantern, and the shiny new axe. The king appears uneasy with your hall.
“I do not doubt your skill, but is that really all you'll take? The journey may take less than a day, but you'll need to eat and walking yourself will only lengthen that time.”
“I know the beginning of the forest like the back of my hand. I'll be fine until I reach the creek. What happens after isn’t any of your concern. There's bigger fools than me ready to play hero if I don't come back.”
“I suppose you're correct…” He holds out his hand. “For luck? …and old times?”
You toss your bag onto your shoulder as you turn your back to the man.
“Suit yourself. Goodbye, Hunter.”
-
Word of your travel reached the village due to the drunken ramblings of an unnamed, yet frightened individual. The folk that shunned you lest they need your aid all watch as you set out towards the forest. Some try to give you words of encouragement or extra support, but you’re long past the need of their help. Taking your first step into the forest you feel the first thing you’ve felt in ages. Grief. It quickly passes once you cross the threshold of burnt wood laid out along the ground.
The start of the journey is as easy as you expected and remembered. Just a pleasant stroll through the woodlands, if you ignore the warning signs and nail marks in the tree bark. Some are faded and thin, but the majority are far larger and much fresher. They’re getting bolder. Best to hurry.
You make it to the creek with a few hours of daylight to spare. The bridge across it broke when you were a child, but now you were old enough to cross straight through without the fear of being swept away. The water barely reaches mid calf when you roll up your sleeves and step in. You hear splashing from nearby, but they quickly disburse with the squeak of a small gasp. The wise ones knew to steer clear of anyone who matched your general profile.
Crossing into the forbidden area of the forest, you expect more danger than you're met with. In this business, it's more worrying to go without danger than to be right in the middle of it. The only sounds you hear are the crunch of leaves beneath your boots – and the rumble from your stomach.
You stop to take a break at an overturned stump. The weight of the situation is really getting to you. Normally you’re about to go at least a day or two without something to eat, but now your body was fighting just to keep upright. You check your bag to see if you had anything left over from the last time you packed. It's empty, besides a single snack cake at the bottom of the sack. And a note.
“Dearest Hunter,
I know things between us have soured over the years. Your home was taken from you in the crossfires and that is truly one of my deepest regrets. I wish the fates could have turned out differently for you, but all I can do now is offer you my prayers and this final gift in hope that you'll forgive me in another life. Know that I do not even forgive myself. In the future, I pray you are cared for well.”
You crumble the letter and toss it back in your bag. Could be used for a fire if need be on your way back. You take careful bites of the cake. It's sweet and a bit tart, filled with some sort of jam which taste you can't put your finger on. It gets caught in your throat after you swallow the rest in one mouthful, but you dislodge it with a sip of water and continue on your way.
-
It's night by the time you make it to the castle. The snack gave you some of your energy back, but your legs still felt heavy. You bite through the fatigue and lift them high as you cross over to the unfamiliar land. You were warned of the king's carefree attitude, but you never expected it to be this lax. Not one guard manned the front gates nor the road to doors from what your blurring vision could see. The wiser choice would have been to round the back of the castle like the original plan, but the prospect of freedom and the growing headache lead you down the riskier path.
The heaviness of your legs travels upwards with each step you take. It isn’t long before you can barely keep a grip on your axe. You want to turn back, but something keeps you moving forward. The races through the trees. Cutting firewood in the fall. You want to be the person that loved those things so dearly in the past. You wanted to be you again.
Opening the gate with a shaky palm, you fall limp in the arms of the one person who could fulfill that dream.
Welcome home, my heartless spouse.
-
When you wake you find yourself in shackles. They're loose enough to give you a taste of freedom, yet they fit around your wrists just right to condemn you to the bed you lie in. You look around the room. It's impossible to move your body. Everything is so heavy and your throat is dry. A cool towel wipes away the sweat beading down your forehead.
“Are you finally awake? I’m so sorry for the confusion you’re likely experiencing. This was the only way we could be together with our people coming for your head.”
His hands creep up your neck. Soft, cloud-like skin more inviting than the pillow your head rests upon, but twice as cool. His eyes meet with yours, too beautiful pools of love and adoration, and so, so much sadness. Almost enough to drown out your own. You know this man. You’ve never seen his face, but you know.
“They'll come around someday. Maybe not a month. Maybe not a year, but they will. I know they will come to love this version of you just as I.”
His fingers sap the warmth from your skin. “What ever did happen to that sweet human I promised myself to ages ago? Worry not for any attempt at change, for my love for you counters any tide.”
You close your eyes. You don't want to hear another word of what he says. His lips ghost by your ear.
“Trust is a two way street. I should start our rekindling by informing you that it wasn’t just I who willed this fate upon you, but the king of the people you gave your years to.”
Your eyes snap open. The realization brewing gifts you the will to speak. “You're lying.”
“I wish I was. I know this hurts for now, but in the future you'll see it's the best for us all.”
Your breathing grows ragged. “You're a liar.”
“You and I both know that what I say is true. Deep down you know that the fire that broke out that day was not an accident. It was not by coincidence that the former king came across your weakened form. He was in need of a new tool, and you were in the prime condition to become his blade.”
You grit your teeth; nails sinking into the flesh of your palms. Precious memories break from the chains you had locked them in since that day. Your peaceful upbringing in the forest, the kind man who carried you away from the flames. The same man who made you kill those who you once called friends.
“You don't belong anywhere, my love. Raised right in the middle of the battlefield, neither side has use for you besides the things you can do. We are alike in that aspect. It's probably the reason you imprinted on me when we met for that brief moment he took you away. From that very second I knew – you were my everything.”
“Stop. Talking.”
“Don't be so cruel, my dear. There surely must've been a time when even you had a heart. I know that better than anyone. I will do my best to pick up those pieces and make you whole."
You can't keep it in. The floodgates you tried so desperately to keep up burst, and the decades of misery resurface. You thrash against your binds, kicking and spitting at the man who only draws his spit covered fingers into his mouth, and smiles so warmly at you.
“I'll kill you! I'll slaughter the people this land protects, and then I'll go after that bastard and his! I’ll kill you all and I won’t stop until I make sure every single one of you is dead. Don't fucking touch me!”
The fae king hushes you as he hooks his arms around your flailing form. He does his best to comfort you, even when one of your hits finally connects, and long after your screams turn into hoarse cries. He brushes your tears away just as he'll do someday when he takes away all your pain permanently.
“Worry not, my broken heart. You'll get your revenge when I bring you the broken body of that man to serve as the centerpiece for our wedding. We'll rebuild your cabin and live out the remainder of our days in nothing but happiness and pure devotion. Grief will only be a bad dream by then, but for now, just rest.”

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐄𝐲𝐞𝐬 ~ 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐧 '𝐆𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭' 𝐑𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐱 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫
Tumblr media
Summary: It's become a ritual at this point for Simon to ask you to help with his eyepaint before a mission, but that might just be an excuse for him to hold you close before he must become 'Ghost' once more. OR Simon just needs some extra tender loving, and we're here to give that to him :)) Pairing: Simon 'Ghost' Riley x Reader (No pronouns used!) Word Count: 1.0K words Warnings: None! Unless you're allergic to fluff I suppose :p Author's Note: I CANNOT get enough of this man, and this prompt came to me in a dream haha. It's just very very soft Simon, hope you enjoy!!
The sun sat low in the sky, painting the world in a soft golden light just outside the windows of your room. It was a shame you couldn’t admire it in its entirety, instead having to busy yourself with packing your gear for the upcoming mission with 141 in the next 3 hours.
Gloves, ammo, med kit… you mentally checked off in your head despite knowing that with how long you’ve been doing this, packing your kit was like stating the alphabet.
Zipping up the final pocket, the final run-through was interrupted by three short knocks on your door.
Making your way over, you open the door and are met with the hulking figure of Ghost himself, his regular black balaclava and intimidating skull mask replaced with a simpler skull one.
“Simon! Didn’t know you’d be coming by so soon,” you say with a smile, gesturing for him to come in. He does so without hesitation, only humming lowly in response.
He takes note of your outfit, still not yet in tactical gear. Fuzzy yellow socks paired with shorts and one of his sweaters. While you were by no means the tiniest person on the planet, his clothes never managed to make you look like anything but.
‘Cute’ he thought to himself. There was a reason your callsign was ‘Sol’ after all, with you being the bright light of the task force, a glow that rivalled the sun itself. It also meant you burn just as strongly, your proficiency on the battlefield was very proof of that.
He sits down on your bed as if it were his own, which, at this point it practically was. If you weren’t in his room then he was in yours.
You and Simon had been dating for years now, going on 4 years next month. You had both met even before the task force was created, when you were nothing more than a private and he was a Sergeant climbing through the ranks. It was a slow but steady path to get to where you both were now, but you wouldn’t have it any other way.
Just look at the man, anyone would do the same.
“Pack all your things for the mission yet?” you ask, stepping into the space between his legs. He only grasped your hips and pulled you in closer.
“Yeah, though I am missing one thing, figured you could help me with it,” he says before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a pot of black paint paired with a brush.
You only grin in response, taking them into your own hands.
“Always,” you reply.
It was practically a ritual now, every time you had a mission Simon would get you to do his eyepaint. It was a simple little task, but no less intimate. It served as a grounding before you headed into the heat of battle, allowed for a moment to simply be close, to exist in each others space before you both had to become ‘Ghost’ and ‘Sol’.
You situated yourself down on his lap as he wrapped his arms around your waist, the warmth of his large hands seeping through your clothes.
Placing the paint down in your lap for a moment, you return your focus back to him.
“This okay?” you ask softly as your fingers brushed over the edge of his balaclava. Simon only nods slightly. While you couldn’t remember the last time he didn’t allow you to take it off, you still asked every time without fail. It was the least you could do, after all he’s been through.
Tugging off the mask you’re met with his beautiful face. As though crafted by the hands of the Gods himself he glowed in the light of the sun, stealing your breath away.
No matter how many times you’ve seen his face over the years, your reaction never changes.
Brushing your fingers over his face lightly, you pull him close for a tender kiss. No heat or passion, simply love, as though to say “I’m here, as are you. Us, together.” Pulling away, you smile as you look into his honeyed eyes, the love you held for him mirrored in his own.
“Let’s get to it, yeah?” you say.
“Let’s,” Simon murmurs quietly.
Opening up the pot of paint you get to work. No words are said between the two of you, and there didn’t need to be. Instead, you both bask in the comfortable silence and the presence of each other.
With gentle strokes, you apply the black paint, the first of many steps it takes to turn back into ‘Ghost’ when all he had to be was ‘Simon’ with you here on base. But that was the way your worlds worked, it was living two different lives. And while both were your true selves, they remained separate, neither persona belonging in the other’s world.
Methodically you tilt his head back and forth for even application across his eyes while he only relished in your soft touch, eyes closed in domestic bliss.
After a few minutes you were done, and you tapped his cheek with a finger playfully.
“Alright, all done big guy,” you say, but Simon doesn’t move to get up. He only opens his eyes momentarily before pulling you into a hug.
Pulling you as close as you could possibly get, his fingers tangled gently through your hair as he buried his face into the crook of his neck, inhaling deeply.
“Simon! You’ll smudge the face paint,” you said with a laugh, “and get it all over my neck. You have any idea how hard it is to get off?” you admonished teasingly, but Simon only shushed you softly.
“Just…let me do this for a moment, love,” he says, his voice uncharacteristically soft. While Simon was sometimes a man of few words, when he spoke he was heard.
“Okay,” you respond, wrapping your arms around him as best you could before also tangling your fingers through his soft blond hair.
You both just sat there holding each other for a little while as the sun continued to set behind you. As the day transitioned into night, and before you both had to turn back into ‘Ghost’ and ‘Sol’ once more.

Different This Time
Hazel Callahan x Bassist!afab!Reader
'I stand by my reasons for wanting you, It may sound simple but for me it's new' 3.5k
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You sat slumped in a random chair with your bass in your lap staring at the door of the band room. It was currently after school and your bandmates were arguing over the setlist and newer songs you have for your upcoming gig. Tired of the bickering you abruptly stand up and place your bass on its stand.
"Y/N, do you have anything to add?" You looked between the three of them and shook your head. "No actually I'm gonna go to the bathroom," and walked out of the room. You turned the corner and took a deep breath, leaning against the wall rubbing your hands over your face. "I am so goddamn tired of this shit." You whispered to yourself and shoved the bathroom door open only to be met with another person.
Hazel.
You were normally someone who always focused on yourself and never really had crushes in school. But freshman year when you first noticed Hazel Callahan, you were fucked. You had at least two classes with her every year and even though you guys hardly ever talked, your stomach and heart always felt fuzzy when she was around.
You exhaled a breath through your mouth when you noticed her. She quickly looked at you when she heard the door open and you both stood across from the other mouths agape. "Uh-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you..if I did." You said walking into the bathroom, letting the door close behind you. You noticed the blood covered paper towel in her hand and some smeared blood under her nose as well as a cut lip.
"Oh, it's okay," she said slowly and quietly while her eyes were still on you. You smiled and looked away, breaking eye contact and made your way to the sink next to her. You looked at her through the mirror and she was now focused on cleaning the blood from her face. "Are you...okay?" You questioned while touching your own lip. She mimicked you and looked down at her now crimson finger, "yeah! Yeah! It's okay, just from the self defense club."
"Oh right! Yeah, that explains why you're still on campus right now." You laughed quietly to yourself, looking down at the sink. There was a short silence that fell upon you both.
"Uhm, why are you here so late?" Hazel asked, this time looking at you through the mirror. "Just band practice. But they're all fighting so I just came here to take a breather." This time you turned your head to be met with her side profile. Even if it was just for a second you admired the curve of her nose and the way her lips looked. She turned her head and locked eyes with you and it felt like she was admiring you just as much as you were admiring her.
"Um, I should get back though. It was nice talking to you Haze." You said quickly and backed out of the bathroom, not wanting to look away from her.
"Yeah, I'll see you in class. Bye Y/N."
~~
It's been 2 weeks since your bathroom encounter with Hazel and you could say you've gotten closer with her. Instead of her just sending you a small smile whenever you saw each other, she started saying hi. You sat behind her in Mr.G's class and every so often she would turn around to ask or say something that would make you huff out a quiet laugh.
You stood at your locker chatting with your best friend who is also the drummer of your band. "Wait so you've been crushing on her these past 4 years and you're just now talking to her?" He asked with raised eyebrows.
"As friends, yes. We're friends." You explained to him. "Oh gosh, that's even worse! Why don't you just ask her to hang out, speed up the process a little bit.." You instantly shook your head, "No, I couldn't, I mean she's so..." you started, looking over at her with Josie and PJ.
"Dorky?" He said and you rolled your eyes as you looked at him. "I was going to say out of my league." This time it was his turn to roll his eyes. "Oh my god, not even Y/N..." he continued on and you peered over at Hazel again but this time she took notice and gave you a big smile. You reciprocated before realizing she’s walking over to you. "Dani, shut up!" you hushed at him and turned around meeting eyes with Hazel.
"Hey Y/N uh I was wondering if you wanted to have lunch today?" Your mouth was slightly open to say something but closed again. "or not! That's fine I was just hoping we can go over Mr. G's assign-" you felt a kick to the back of your knee, making you slightly buckle before quickly standing back up straight. "Yeah we definitely can. Where do you go for lunch?" you asked, leaning against the lockers with your arms wrapped around yourself.
"The bleachers. But if you want I can meet you back here and we can walk there together?" She said, You couldn't quite pinpoint her feelings but she had a slight anxious look in her eyes. "That sounds great! I'll see you then." You smiled. She gave you a thumbs up as she backed away then the bell rang to your next class period. You looked at Dani as he had an amused smirk on his face. "Oh she wants you."
"Just shut up."
~~
You walked towards your locker, chipping at the nail polish on your fingers. You see Hazel already there, leaning against the lockers on her phone. You took a deep breath and walked up to her letting out a slightly shaky "hey," trying to seem as casual as possible. She looked up at you with a smile and a slight sparkle in her eye, putting her phone in her pocket. "Hi. You ready?"
You nodded at her, "Yeah let me just-" you pointed at your locker to grab your other book and binder. "Oh yeah, definitely. Sorry." Hazel said, moving out of your way.
You began walking in a comforting yet slightly awkward silence, sharing glances at each other not really knowing what to say. Hazel opened the door that led to outside motioning for you to go first. "Thank you," you said quietly. She cleared her throat, "so how's your band?"
"It's pretty good, we get to open for an artist coming to town in two months but in the meantime we play small shows and gigs around the area. It's fun." You grinned as you spoke. You sat at a random spot in the bleachers and continued to talk instead of working on Mr. G's assignment.
That night you lied in bed restless. Tossing and turning to the point where your neck hurt, you huffed and sat up. You turned on your lamp and groaned. Your mind was filled with thoughts of Hazel you couldn't even sleep. You looked at the notebook on the corner of your bed and grabbed it, deciding to start writing.
A week later you walk into school with a huge smile on your face as you walk to your friends. They all noticed your grin and notebook in hand. "What's got you smiling like the Cheshire Cat?" Molly, your lead guitarist, asked. "More like who.." Dani added. "I wrote a song!" You exclaimed and held out your notebook opened to a specific page. "Different This Time," Molly held the notebook as the three of them read through the song. "I also made a few demos for how it could go. I'll send them in the group chat."
~~
"Damn, that Hazel girl got you locked in. It's a good song." Nico, your lead singer and rhythm guitarist said. "Thanks Nico, but what do we say lads? Wanna play it at our next gig?" You nervously looked at the three of them. "Will you be singing it? I mean you wrote it." Nico asked again. you smiled at Nico, "Yes, I will definitely be singing it."
Spending everyday after that practicing with the band the song and setlist for your opening gig coming up. You also began spending more alone time with Hazel. As you were walking out of the school you saw Hazel standing outside her car with a nervous face as she looked around before seeing you. She waved at you as you walked over to her. "Hey Haze, you okay?" you questioned moving your head in front of her face. "Yeah, I'm okay. Hey, you wanna come over?"
"Like..right now?" She nodded at you. "Yeah, why not?" you said as she opened the passenger door for you.
You looked out the window while Fleetwood Mac quietly played in the background. Your eyes slowly shifted to Hazel's hand on the steering wheel and down to her other hand that lightly held the gear stick, fingers tapping along to the beat of the song. Your breath began to get heavier but you reverted your eyes back to the window before you could let your mind wander. "So where are we going again?" You asked, breaking the silence.
"Oh I was just thinking my house. We can watch a movie or play video games. Unless you want to do something else?"
You shook your head, "no, going to your house sounds great."
Walking into Hazel's house you couldn't help but look around. "I had no clue you lived-"
"Yeah I try not to tell people." Hazel cut you off, "Come on, let's go to my room." You followed her up the staircase looking at all the pictures and paintings that littered the walls of the hallways. You walked into her room and your bottom lip between your teeth, trying to conceal the smile that would paint your lips. Her room was just so her.
"You can just put your bag and things in that chair." She said, taking off her own bag and shoes. You complied, placing your belongings on the chair in the corner and made your way over to her by her bed. You couldn't help but notice the way her eyes scanned you as you stood in front of her. Suddenly feeling slightly self conscious, you held your hands behind your back and cleared your throat. "So what kind of movies do you have?" You muttered in a shy voice.
Hazel looked back up to meet your eyes but all that she said was, "nice socks," with a giggle. You looked down and realized you were wearing Iron Man socks. You laughed with her, "hey you too." You pointed out the Spiderman socks she had on. She looked back up at you with a smile and the same look in her eyes you can never pinpoint. But it didn't matter to you. You loved the way she looked at you.
She looked away and grabbed the remote lying on the bed and tapped the side next her for you to sit. "Maybe we can watch.." "Twilight?" you grinned at her. She gave you the same look back, "Yes, Twilight."
For the next few hours you spent watching Twilight and sharing a bowl of popcorn and some snacks. "Okay, are you team Jacob or Edward? I don't know why I didn't ask you this during the first movie," Hazel asked as the credits began to roll on screen. You deeply sighed and adjusted the pillow behind your head to get a better look at her.
"..Neither"
"Neither?!" You shook your head with a tight lipped smile. "I'm actually team Alice."
"Okay, I can get by that." Hazel said as the opening credits to the next movie rolled in. Your face facing the TV and you felt Hazel lean closer to your ear. "I am also team Alice," She whispered, her breath on your ear giving you goosebumps. You turned to look at her as she leaned back now looking at the TV, huffing out a quiet laugh before returning your gaze back.
Focusing on the movie the only things heard was the dialogue from the screen and the crunching of popcorn being eaten. You brought your hand down into the bowl, reaching for some when you felt Hazel's hand touching yours. You froze, dropping the popcorn from your hand and shifting your eyes down towards the bowl. Hazel's fingers slowly grazing over yours. Moving your gaze up to her face and see her also looking at your hands.
Hazel intertwines your fingers together and looks up at you. You felt high. Everything was moving slowly, the movie playing was muted and all you could focus on was Hazel's eyes. How stared right back at you and how she blinked so slowly. The apples of her cheek hinted with pink and her lips, slightly parted as she moved in closer to you. You felt yourself leaning in too, eyes flicking from her eyes to her lips. You closed your eyes, noses touching and her breath on your lips.
Am I about to kiss Haz-
"UHHH MHH"
You and Hazel jumped apart, hands untwining and placed back in your laps. You looked at the door hearing more moans. You look back at Hazel and her face is now wide and red. "Is that your-" you motioned at the door.
She sighed and wiped her face. "Yeah, fuck I'm sorry. That's so embarrassing." You went to place your hand on her knee and say something before she abruptly got up from the bed. "I'll just take you home now. It's already 10." She said turning off the TV and sliding on her shoes with her back facing you. You went to the corner of her room to put on your shoes and grabbing your stuff, completely shutting out the sounds coming from the other room.
You looked at Hazel as she focused on the road, this time The 1975 playing faintly through the speakers. "I just remembered I forgot to tell you. My band and I are having a gig on Sunday at that small bar Chameleon's Doors open at 6. You should come by and watch us perform if you're not busy," you told her, needing to break the silence. She finally looked at you and gave you a closed smile, "I would love to go."
You arrived in front of your house and you unbuckled your seatbelt. "Thanks for having me over, I had fun. Let's do again?" You said to her, turning your body towards her. "Yeah definitely. And I'm really sorry about my mom, she's been kind of doing this since her and my dad-"
"Hazel it's fine," you said, grabbing on to her hand. She looked down at your hands and back up to your face, noticing you had inched closer. "Please..don't be embarrassed." You whispered, everything began moving slower again. This time you intertwined your fingers, lips parting as you moved closer to her.
"Y/N.." Hazel whispered, just centimeters away. "I think I might kiss you."
You smiled, "me too." Your eyes closed and felt her lips on yours. They were soft and plump, it was a soft and gentle kiss. You pulled away from each other, admiring each other. Hazel let go of your hand, bringing her own up to your facing. You leaned into her hand as her thumbs caressed your cheekbones. You looked at her through your lashes and her mouth opened to say something.
"I..really like you Y/N. Like a lot." She breathed out.
"I like you a lot too, Hazel," you whispered back as you reconnected your lips. You moved your hands up into her hair, running your fingers through it. The kiss was more passionate and you mindlessly pushed your chest closer to hers. You pulled away breathing heavier as Hazel beamed at you, chest rising. There was a few seconds of comfortable silence where you sat there admiring each other.
"I should probably go." You said, licking your lips as you moved away to grab your bag. You gave her one last look before opening the door. "And you are coming on Sunday right?" You added looking at her holding onto the door.
"Yes, I will be there." She smiled gazing at you. You flashed her another smile.
"Goodnight Hazel." You said, your eyes look at all her facial features.
"Goodnight Y/N."
You closed the door and walked up to your house, turning around every so often to see Hazel waiting for you to get inside. You got to your door and waved at her, earning one back , then unlocked your door and walked inside. Instantly running your room and collapsing on your bed, giggling into your pillows. Turning over you had the biggest grin on and the deepest shade of red your face could possibly get. "Oh my god."
And Hazel on her way back smiled to herself reliving the moments that just occurred in her head. "Oh my god."
~~
You stood at side stage making sure everything was set up. You haven't told anyone about what happened because you wanted to put your focus into practicing for this gig. "Alright guys, let's have fun!" Nico said as you guys walked on stage. You adjusted your mic and scanned the crowd looking for Hazel. You spotted her walking in with some of the girls you noticed that were in the fight club.
"We're Metal Heart, thank you for coming out tonight. Hope you enjoy the show." Nico said and Molly began playing her intro riff. You played 4 songs, every so often looking at Hazel and sending her a smile as she watched you like you were some goddess.
"This is going to be our last song for the night. We'll cool down and get you guys ready for the next band to play up here. This last song was written by our beautiful bassist, Y/N."
Claps and cheers were heard as you waved to the crowd. You walked up to the mic to say some words. "Thank you. This is a love ballad I wrote about someone," You looked at Hazel and continued. "It's about meeting someone and wanting a different and special connection with them. This is 'Different This Time' hope you enjoy."
Your voice drew in Hazel and as the crowd swayed and moved, Hazel got closer to the stage. She stood staring up at you. You were breathtaking to her, the way your fingers flicked against the strings of your bass, how the glitter on your eyes and cheeks sparkled in the lights shining on you. Hazel Callahan was head over heels for you, and has been for the past four years. The song came to an end and you bit your lip as cheers roared through the bar. Looking down at Hazel again seeing she wore a grin on her face.
"Once again, we're Metal Heart. Thank you so much for having us and enjoy the rest of the show!" You said into the mic and began walking off stage.
"Oh my god?? Hazel is actually in love with you. She was so enamored by you, she could not take her eyes off you." Dani said, shaking you by your shoulders. "So we..kissed the other night." You confessed and the three of them gasped. "And you didn't tell us?" Molly shouted, lightly pushing you. You laughed and let out a quiet 'sorry' as you walked past them and to the floor.
Hazel stood in front of you with her hands under the bottom of her vest. You nervously walked up to her, picking at your nails again. "You did really well." She smiled at you. "Thank you Hazel," you responded looking down trying to hide your blush. She then grabbed your hands in hers, getting you to look at her. She took a few steps closer, leaning to your ear. "Wanna take a step outside?" You looked at her nodded, then held her hand as you led her outside to a more quiet spot.
You smiled and leaned against the brick wall and she did the same. Not letting go of your hand, she looked down at them as her hand caressed the top of your hand. "Can I ask..was that song written about me?" She spoke up, looking you in the eyes. You nodded at her, "yeah, it was. I wrote it when we started hanging out together." You told her, your heart beating fast.
"It was so beautiful." She said quietly, pulling you closer and holding your hand in hers bringing it to rest over her shoulder. You stood there in silence, leaning in once again.
"Hazel.."
"Yeah?"
Your noses were touching as you looked into her eyes. "Will you be my girlfriend?"
She grinned, placing her hands on your waist and passionately kissed you. Your arms reached around her neck and she pulled away.
