The ache eats such a large bite out of him that Keith falls again, despite standing in place.

He never meets his pathetic demise. Someone has grabbed his shoulders to prevent his collapse. Keith doesn’t need to twist around to know who it is. He’d recognize the arms wrapped around him at any time. Strong, lean, long limbs hold him up like pillars sculpted to support buildings through the catastrophes of time. Keith is a feather in his hold. And when Lance pulls him up and close, he understands now. He understands how Red so easily chose Lance without a doubt or test the second Keith abandoned her; Lance burns. Keith leans flushed against his chest and he has never been more lit aflame, not even in the heat of battle. Everywhere Lance touches him, everywhere that they’re connected, there’s a spark, as if he’s being shocked back to life, joint by joint.

Clarity strikes Keith’s mind. He pushes Lance off of him.

“Dude—” Lance cuts himself off and takes a step back. His distance hurts more than running away.

It’s their first interaction in months. It’s their first conversation in forever. Keith wants to capture the one word he’s spoken and find a vacant crevice of his chest to safekeep it in. Perhaps between the bridge of his lungs, right under his heart.

He now has two years of existence to catch up on, and one unexpected Paladin seems to have changed drastically compared to the others.

Keith decides that he will stop at nothing to rejoin his team and get to the bottom of what happened while he was gone, but of course, things are never that simple.

i have impeccable taste and 29 bookmarks and i really recommend Poor Boys and Pilgrims by SirCumference on ao3. it's a gorgeous fic in which Keith sees him and Lance together in each of the three realities he gets glimpses of during his time in the whale.

 Keith is a pianist haunted by dark thoughts and an even darker past. He attends Altea's Music Academy, but has never performed in public before; that is until his brother Shiro, who's a piano teacher, decides to promote the school with concerts at the Paladin's, the trendiest pub in town. His colleagues and friends, Pidge and Hunk, are excited: he can finally meet their best friend, Lance!

Their first encounter is... not good.

Perhaps this is already common knowledge on this app, but I have yet to see anything about it in my feed. If you are unaware, an AI tech company called HuggingFace recently had a user by the name of nyuuzyou scrape our beloved AO3.

This scrape included over 63 MILLION fanfics written by the hard working, passionate, and incredible people of every fandom. The scrape was conducted with the intent of using the data to generate AI fanfiction and fiction. If you have a fanfic on AO3 that has an ID between 1-63 200 000, and is publicly accessible (not restricted to registered users), then your work was scraped and used in the process.

AO3 admins are currently searching for solutions and some kind of retributions. Until then, make sure to limit your works to registered users and show the real writers that you value their time and contribution to fandom.

Hi!! Im looking for this klance soulmate fic on a03 where whatever they write on their skin it appears on the other and in this story keith tries avoiding writing on his skin and lance doesnt know about the soulmate thing so he does write on his skin (a grocery list i believe). Anyways, matt ends up drawing a d!ck on keith while he's asleep and lance ends up seeing it and gets mad at pidge (poor pidge it aint them) for drawing on him as he tries (and fails) to get it off. Until, he sees it blur off his skin and lance, hunk, n pidge end up freaking out bcuz they think its a ghost. Keith feels bad and writes im sorry on his skin as an apology and yeah. Theres also a scene where keith draws a pretty picture on his thigh with watercolor pencils for lance as a goodluck charm for his swim comp (this is later in the fic tho). I know its multiple chapters and its completed. Im an idiot and didnt bookmark it yrs ago and ive been trying for DAYS to find it again.
