oooops ive upset the "bi lesbians arent real/lesbians cant love men" crowd on twitter by providing documented history of the lesbian/wlw community definitively & unapologetically accepting bi lesbianism as an identity LOL. tbh its kinda concerning how many of them think it isnt relevant bcus the source is from the 70's, as if it being old automatically disqualified it as an actual source (one person literally qrt'd me to say was i gonna also bring up when lgbt was considered a sickness? as if that were a checkmate & history is just completely devoid of nuance lol) meanwhile, actively believing anything a random carrd (w/o actual sources) claims. no one listens when its described, sometimes incredibly broken down & simply for them, they just hear that someone disagreed with them & jump to attack attack attack instead of even at all considering the info being presented? which again, i do bother to source. like i have ppl calling me names & all sorts of stuff which like is so needlessly hostile & a really childish ad hominem. but anyways. i qrt'd this on what is at the moment a 12k+ queerphobic tweet made by a fucking 13 year old, in hopes that maybe they & others might read it & try to understand it, look up more info & form more of an opinion on it... rather than literally, word for word, parroting a decades old terf dogwhistle to an audience of tens of thousands if not more (bcus we know how the internet works, a viral tweet almost always ends up as a screenshot on fb groups, here on tumblr, reddit, etc.) this shit is so irresponsible in so many ways. why is a random queerphobic child the mouthpiece for an entire fucking community? what gives them the authority to attack ppl & call them names when someone disagrees? if you learn or internalize anything from me, let it be this: no one is allowed to tell you what your identity is. especially not rando teenagers who dont know shit about the queer community & our history & actively refuses to learn it. esp if they belligerently attack queers they find unpalatable.
apparently literal historical articles and research from HARVARD isn't "reliable" enough as resources for defining and adding more inclusive language for lesbianism to Wikipedia, according to their editors. 🙄
On the back cover, it says "FROM THE DESK OF TAYLOR SWIFT"
In Lavender Haze she sings: "Get it off your chest, Get it off my desk" as in, get over that feeling of leaving this love in the ruins and get this "Manuscript" off my desk, so we can get lost in the Lavender Haze again !
But since it didn't work out the way she thought it would, she picked up the "Manuscript" and submitted it as "evidence" !!
Alastor is aroace! As such, clearly the best way to make Alastor life plots is lavender marriage fic because it gives you degenerates the domestic comfort you crave whilst respecting his identity.
people being incredibly horny for that outside world yukari image has shown me the beauty and diversity of the world. my beloveds that is just a smug college student who wants to kill you. i promise you can find some of those on your average campus.
I think the gaylor swift conspiracy is a really good illustration of how some online queer folks vastly overestimate how much people - especially straight people - know about queer symbolism. there are so many of them insisting that lavender haze and the hairpin stuff means she has to either be queer or be 'co-opting' queerness. but girlies. you have to understand how little the general population knows about queer history. I'm bisexual myself and I still had to look up how lavender and hairpins related to queerness. this is the kind of stuff you actually do have to search for and become actively informed about
I think it's all cool and good to analyse her works through a queer lens, and I do definitely think the lyrics of lavender haze can be read in that way. but for the love of god. that analysis does not mean the references are intentional. it definitely does not mean taylor swift, real human being, has queerbaited you. this is an instance where you sorely need to touch grass
