Rough first attempt of Ros’s modified synth field helmet. She doesn’t quite understand why people call her the Grim Reaper. She’s harmless.
Okay, that’s a lie. But she still doesn’t like the name.

The Other Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse But Make It Cosmere
As requested by @round-hatches-are-terrifying. :)
In the Good Omens novel, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (War, Famine, Pollution, and Death), who are bikers, are followed by four other biker dudes who chose their own names to be, uh, equally ominous:
Grievous Bodily Harm, Cruelty to Animals, Really Cool People, and Treading In Dogshit (formerly All Foreigners Especially The French, formerly Things Not Working Properly Even After You’ve Given Them A Good Thumping, never actually No Alcohol Lager, briefly Embarrassing Personal Problems, and finally People Covered in Fish)
So let's say we had other Horsemen on various Cosmere planets. What would they be named?
1. Roshar (Stormlight Archive)
The Main Horsemen: War, Famine, Desolation, and Death
The Other Horsemen: Man-Eating Giant Crabs, Running Out Of Stormlight Right In The Middle of the Weeping, Ill-Conceived Boons, and Reified Gender Norms (formerly Men Reading, formerly Predicting the Future But Not Like Storm Wardens Do Because That's Just Math Basically, briefly just Predicting the Future)
2. Scadrial (Era 1) (Mistborn)
The Main Horsemen: Famine, Pestilence, Ash, and Death
The Other Horsemen: Child Abuse, Dangerous Piercings, Trying to Keep Literally Anything Clean, and Getting Hit in The Head With A Coin Like Every Night Because of Those Blasted Mistborn Flying About Everywhere
3. Scadrial (Era 2) (Mistborn)
The Main Horsemen: War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death
The Other Horsemen: Social Unrest, Rich Bastards, ACAB, and Getting Hit in The Head With A Coin Like Every Night Because of Those Blasted Coinshots Flying About Everywhere
4. Nalthis (Warbreaker)
The Main Horsemen: War, Famine, Death, and Second Death
The Other Horsemen: Undead Squirrel Attacks, Being Out of Breath, The Haunting Realization that the Gods Who Live Among Us Are Actually Pretty Daft, and All Foreigners But Especially the Idrians
5. Threnody (Shadows for Silence)
The Main Horsemen: Fire, Blood, Running, and Death
The Other Horsemen: Fortfolk-Acting-Too-Big-For-Their-Britches, Withering-That-Does-Not-Kill-You-But-Does-Make-Life-Just-That-Much-Harder-Forever, Ghost-Grandmother, and Adonalsium-May-Remember-Our-Plight-Eventually-But-For-Now-It-Is-Pretty-Bleak-Out-Here-Guys
6. Komashi (Yumi and the Nightmare Painter)
The Main Horsemen: Nightmares, Famine, Pestilence, and Death
The Other Horsemen: Artist's Block, Being Straight on a Planet Where Even the Lighting is Bisexual, AI Art, and A Stiff Breeze Coming At Exactly The Wrong Time Noooo My Rock Stacks
7. First of the Sun (Sixth of Dusk)
The Main Horsemen: Bad Death, Worst Death, Quick Death, and Slow Death
The Other Horsemen: Mainlanders, Mainlander Capitalism, Kids These Days, and Suspicious Invaders (?) From Outer Space
8. Sel (Elantris)
The Main Horsemen: War, Famine, the Shaod, and Death
The Other Horsemen: Aggressive Proselytizers, Stubbing your Toe, People Who Do Not Accept The Word of Shu-Dereth And So Seal For Themselves Their Own Inevitable Doom, and I'm With The First Guy Who Said Proselytizers (formerly People Covered in Slime)

We need another opposite POV episode after intermezzo because could you imagine being some 13th century citizen witnessing that shit? More info dumping time! so basically Gene, Laurance, Sasha, and Vylad Are like high levels of Shad's army and they're the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse like his generals. In order of which one they are and what their powers are:
Gene: Famine, everything he touches rots
Laurance: War, causes madness around him like a violent mass hysteria pretty much lotta violence
Sasha: Plagues creates a poison gas that kills people almost instantly
Vylad: Death can summon an undead army and see people die a kinda future vision
Pretty much all their surface-level powers I'm so not good at writing down my thoughts in a way that makes sense lol

The Judge, Jury and Executioner
I need more info about these three before I can be sure about this.
But I can see a pattern for three angels and what they represent.
The Judge
Tumblr media
The Jury
Tumblr media
The Executioner
Tumblr media
Raphael is more obvious, with him being the one who servers punishment to others.
Michael can be seen as the judge with how he make final judgement (Even tho, he shouldn't be with his Paranoia Personality Disorder Mental illness)
And with Gabriel, is more on that one seen with Leamas in Chapter 4.
Again, this is a speculation at best. I need more evidence to make this theory possible.
And just me trying to figure out a pattern.
Like, I made a joke that all four kings who is revealed are a stand in for the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. But with more thought... They could be. But that's a another theory for another day :3

Gosh I am just slowly rotating a 4 horsemen of the apocalypse batfam au. Y'know, for fun. And like, the horsemen having been separated into two bodies, two beings to prevent the apocalypse. Despite the fact they don't care for the end of the world anyway.
Jason & Cass as Conquest/Pestilence, two sides of the same coin, of the same being, one of violence and one of horrifying silence. Dick & Steph as War, of the first blow and the utter violence wrought by their actions. Tim & Duke as Famine, forever hungry, not just for food, but for information, for recognition, for just a hint of anything at all. And Bruce & Damian as Death. Death one refuses to do. A merciful death, and a death still learning. A young death and the death of innocence.
Idk just an idea lol

okay this is something i’ve been thinking about since watching hazbin hotel
tdlr: the four horsemen and its correlation to hell, heaven, and power of overlords.
so, i’ve been doing a lot of research about christianity for a hazbin hotel oc/persona, bc i was *accidently* put into a christian cult/future megachurch as a child and this is what they call healing. as such, i’ve been doing research into the book of revelations vs. the book of ezekiel. SPECIFICALLY the interpretation of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. typically these are interpreted as death/pestilence, war, conquest, and famine. now, there’s two interpretations of the four horsemen. one where its interpreted as the four horsemen being on the ‘good’ side since their released by jesus/lamb of god/lion of judas by unlocking 4/7 seals of the book in gods right hand.
the other, which I interpret more, is the idea that the four horsemen of the apocalypse dont belong to a side. their whole shtick is that they enact chaos and destruction by virtue of gods will in order to prep for the rapture. their very existence is contradictory of each other, to be an enactment of god (which is considered good or holy), yet enacting destruction and chaos.
which brings me to this little thought.
i wondered /what/ gives a sinner power in hell. we’ve seen that deals certainly do something, but it seems as if some demons just spawn in hell with a shit ton of power. at first i thought ‘oh yeah its gotta be dependent on how bad they are or what sins they committed’, but that DOESNT MAKE SENSE. 1) (i only number this and nothing else) alastor is one of the most powerful sinners in the pride ring yet even he has a moral code (re: vizies q+a answer about alastor having similar morals to dexter). And for someone like Valentino, who I would argue as the most ruthless evil motherfucker out there, to have less power than a walking and talking TV, it just doesn’t make sense. Of course- the originals sins we see in Helluva Boss are going to be powerful because they are the original sins, but what about everyone else, about humans.
That’s what the rapture is about, clearing the earth and saving the “good” people, the idea that humanity has become too poisoned and we need to start over (they shit on humanity for 90% of the show, justifiably). But the four horseman represent everything in humanity that remains eerily constant. there was always been war, famine, death/pestilence, and a need to control others (conquest). they are but facets of what already exist. so what if a sinners (previously humans) powers come from their enactment of these principles during their living life. Alastor embodies a lot of famine (cannibalism) and death (serial killer), Vox has a need to control (conquest) others, Carmilla literally runs her entire company based on the fact that people need weapons to fight against angels (war).
and it would make sense why adam, despite being the supreme douche leader that he is, hasn’t been cast out of hell. he does what he does because he believes its a necessarily act, but all it does it scream war and death like a 5 year old on caffeine. the four horsemen do not choose a side, so no matter where their represented, heaven or hell, its still a justifiable fuel for power.
anyways autism speaks and sure is it loud. this is a very whishy washy theory but i think it’s an interesting idea and i am 100% down from criticism from people who understand the bible way more than me.

I like analysing shit.
I like Red Hood: Lost Days
So I am going to analyse some of it.
To start with, lets look at the titles of the issues.
#1: The First Step
#2: Baptism
#3: School
#4: Higher Learning
#5: After School Activities
#6: Benediction and Commencement
What immediately strikes me is how all of these are relevant to the issue AND as a whole. They are describing a life fresh from birth to how that life progresses until graduation. Extremely important when considering that this is basically Jason's second life. He died and now he is "reborn" after being put into the Lazarus pit.
The First Step: The fact that the title name was on the page in which Jason was pushed into the Pit lets me believe that this IS the first step, as Red Hood: Lost Days explains the time between him being found by Talia to him becoming Red Hood. This is the first step in him becoming the Red Hood.
Baptism: Not exactly clear as to what "Baptism" is referring to here. I have multiple ideas. First, there is the possibility that it is a continuation of the last issue, as that issue ended with Jason being pushed into the pit and in religious baptisms, water is usually connected to it as the person being baptized is getting water poured onto their head. But it could also mean a non-religious baptism as in he is starting a new role. He finally gets to train with a clear mind and can properly start his journey.
Issue #3-#5 are relatively similar, all him explaining his training and stopping the evil schemes his teachers are involved with.
Benediction and Commencement: Commencement, he has completed his training or "graduated" if you take the school aspect into account from issue 3 to 5. Benediction, he gets his blessings from Talia to finally confront Bruce after stalling him so long. Commencement, "the beginning of something new". The issue ends with him picking up the Red Hood helmet, before that, he met up with Hush. The beginning of the Red Hood.
Next I want to focus a bit on religious imagery. I am not a big fan of it in general, but considering that words like "Baptism" and "Benediction" are in the titles, it is note-worthy. If it is something you're uncomfortable with, feel free to skip this section
I have seen people make the point that this cover:
Tumblr media
Has similarities to pictures of Mary holding a dead Jesus.
And now that I think about it more, I can see why and they are pretty good stand-ins.
Jason came back from the dead, like Jesus.
Talia found Jason after he came back. She considers it a miracle. Like fate WANTS Jason to live. He wandered into her life. She isn't so much as interfering with fate, as stepping out of its way.
And then you have this page:
Tumblr media
Jason as he has his arms spread wide, legs forming almost a straight line. Similar to Jesus on the cross.
The Lazarus pit isn't green. It's orange and yellow. It shines so bright. Ra's says it burns in his heart. He tells Talia it could turn Jason mad in a few months, years or decades. That she has unleashed a curse. A pestilence. Pestilence being one of the for Horsemen of the Apocalypse. And so, the Lazarus Pit becomes a symbol for Hell.
The fact that Jason and Talia are more distorted versions of the religious figures they could represent becomes more prominent as the story goes on. In the bible, Jesus goes back to Heaven to rejoin with his Father. In this story, Talia is told and knows that she should return Jason to Bruce. But she doesn't. Because Jason will see it as betrayal and he wouldn't forgive her for that.
My last and favourite point is how RH: LD is the perfect set up to Under the Red Hood.
Jason explains how it isn't about the Joker. Or Bruce. Or him. It's about the three of them.
Bruce was supposed to protect him.
Joker killed him.
Bruce didn't avenge him.
He tried to kill both of them only to NOT do it and walk away.
Jason died away from Gotham in Ethiopia, but not before being beaten with a crowbar, the building he was in having exploded and then asphyxiating due to the smoke.
Jason almost killed the Joker by setting him on fire. (Explosion)
He initially wanted to do it in another location. (Ethiopia)
He wanted to do it slowly. (Crowbar)
Jason says when the pain would hit the Joker, he would scream. Until it hit his throat. His lungs. (Asphyxiating)
He is reliving his own death. He wants his murderer to go through the agony he did. An eye for an eye one could say.
"Reliving his own death" is an objective statement here, as Jason sees the Joker swinging a crowbar that is dripping with his own blood while at the same time also standing right above the Joker, who is drenched in gasoline.
Now I want you to compare these two scenes. This is when he was about to kill the Joker:
Tumblr media
The panels switch between Jason and the firelighter, present Joker and past Joker. The firelighter, the device that would end the Joker's life, comes more and more into the focus. Until he disengages it on the last panel.
Now to the second scene, when Jason planted a bomb under the Batmobile and was about to detonate it.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
The panels switch between Batman and Jason. Jason is hovering over the detonater. Until he pulls away.
When Jason explained to Talia why he walked away from the Joker, he said that it wasn't enough. It was only ever about the three of them, not just Joker. His plan doesn't include murdering Batman anymore.
But the reason Jason gave Talia why he didn't kill Bruce? "I couldn't let him get off so easy. He'd never know what happened. He'd never know knwo why. He'd never know it was me." One could wonder if we are supposed to see this as a parallel as well. If we should apply this reasoning of why he didn't kill Bruce to why he didn't kill Joker.
The Joker would never know why Jason killed him. He doesn't even know that it IS Jason who is about to murder him.
And while is plan doesn't include killing Bruce anymore. Nobody said anything about the Joker.
As I said, perfect setup to Under the Red Hood.

I want to talk about some fun stuff I have had knocking around my head regarding the Magnus archives
Note: is it Canon? I don’t know and I don’t care. @jonnywaistcoat gave us a bunch of fun toys to play with. I wanna play with them. I am not gonna tell anyone if their opinions on Magnus are right or wrong because it doesn’t matter! it’s a story. It’s fiction. It doesn’t matter if you picture white Archivist, black Archivist, asian Archivist - that’s how we end up with fun stuff like mermaid Tim! Imagine everything, and anything - it doesn’t matter, and that’s the fun of it! Also, I am keenly aware I am (checks watch) 8 years late to this fandom and I may be spouting stuff long since discussed, so forgive me if I am getting excited discovering long trodden ground.
I digress. So. One of the many things I love about Magnus is the fun and very clear metaphors that are used to describe the entities/ fears and what’s going on in the story. One of my favourites is the colour wheel theory. During the show I would get confused between the different entities particularly the stranger and the spiral but if the entities are like colours then this makes perfect sense: they do bleed into each other. So I wanted to try and transcribe these entities onto colours not thinking so much about which particular colour I think they ought to be, but how they complement or clash with each other. Disclaimer, not an artist. At all. I don’t know if I’ll do a good job - but that’s not really what I wanna talk about.
Death/Terminus/The End isn’t a colour. Death is black-and-white. And death isn’t like any of the others.
This is just to say, that the way I read it - death, as an entity, is treated differently.
Jonny himself said in calls and livestreams that death was actually his main fear, maybe still is? So that might lend itself to different considerations.
In TMA, death is described as the fear of death, dying and nonexistence and all of that cosmological shit that most of us feel. However, TMA stories of death also include the opposite fear which is the fear of not being able to die. This is equivalent to the Eye finding someone who is afraid of being watched and putting them in a box, where no one can ever see them again.  The fact that this person in the pyramid can’t die and wants to, the fact the reapers, in escaping death achieve basic immortality - and often are not so sure they like it - this would be a very weird way to create a fear of death, by creating an apparent desire for it!
So I think within the universe, this fear is special because it encapsulates itself and its opposite - whereas the other fears have distinct opposites which are separate entities (buried and vast, eye and dark). Not only that, but as season 5 showed us, there are fears that can combine and match with each other, and there’s no fear that death DOESN’T complement!  Like yes, actual death will stop fear, but a healthy dose of the fear of dying will go with everything. So in the colour wheel theory, I say fear of death is black and creates shades with other colours, and fear of not-death is white and creates tints (I just really like this metaphor!).
I’d love to make anthropomorphic art of the entities as individuals, and groups of individuals, based on matching colours. Example - Death, The Buried, The Corruption all work together as a buried alive fear. Unfortunately my fine art skills are dismal, so I’ll let more talented people have a go if they like this idea. I get why I haven’t seen so much of this, as the avatars kind of do this anthropomorphism, but death itself as a concept has been characterised for thousands of years (I am a big fan of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s versions!), and we have 4 (+1?) horsemen of the apocalypse bringing war and pestilence into humanoid form so I reckon it could be pretty interesting how people envision the entities. Personally I imagine the vast like Junji Ito’s Spiral-faced girl (she’ll pull you in!).
Anyway, that’s my perspective on blending fears like colours, and why Death really isn’t like any of the others.
