Adam's blood was still soaked into the turf by the time track and field practice was in the process of giving you heat stroke. Each gust of humid wind burned at your throat a little more than the last like someone had set fire to your lungs.
While everyone else was jogging around the track in a leisurely manner, you and Kyle were sprinting like you were headed for the sun.
"What was that?" You call behind you, turning your head just the slightest "I can't hear you, you're falling behind."
"I didn't say anything," Kyle runs up beside you, matching your pace. Ginger curls were sticking to the sweat on his forehead and neck, glistening under the fading light of the day.
"That sounds like something that someone who said something would say," you respond, glancing down at your sneakers pounding against the track before quickening your pace.
"What?" His eyebrows furrow in confusion.
With each step, you fell into a steady rhythm, feet pounding against the track with determination to be just a little better than the boy trailing you. You felt the familiar burn in your muscles, the exhilarating rush of adrenaline as you pushed yourself harder, faster.
The wind whipped through your hair, cooling the sweat on your brow as you pushed past your limits, your lungs burning with every sharp breath. You ignored the overexertion gripping at you, the nausea creeping up like little hands of wind pushing at the back of your throat.
Your thoughts focused solely on the rhythmic beating of your feet against the turf and Kyle. It took what must've been a God's power not to glance around every few seconds to see how close he was to you, how steadily he fell into tempo with your pace.
That day was shaping up to be a particularly nasty one and you were quite literally trying to run away from it. Though no matter how far your legs took you, you were still on the track, Kyle only feet behind you.
It only added to that lingering thought that rested in the back of your head that you weren't anything special, you were just as good as everyone else and you needed some way to prove them wrong.
"Aw, look they're running together," Red says from her spot on the bleachers where she sits with Leslie. You can hear the sarcasm dripping from her voice.
"Ew, what the hell," you pause looking at Red, you see Kyle ahead and awkwardly jog backwards to create more distance, you only stop completely when you're in front of Red. "We were not."
"So you were racing?"
"No," You scoff "But if we were I would totally win."
"Um, okay, I believe you" She gives Leslie a quick side glance "Are you coming over later?"
"I have a thing," You answer, hands on your hips while you press your lips into a thin line.
"A thing?" Red quirks an eyebrow "Bebe won't be there if that's what you're worried about."
"No, like I actually have a thing," You Answer "Sheila's having a birthday party and I'm obligated to go by my parents."
"Oh," Red nods like everything coming together "A swingers party." She had run a few laps before something more interesting caught her attention then she eventually settled perched on the bleachers with Leslie beside her and a redbull in hand.
"Your parents are swingers?" Leslie asks, dark bangs pinned away from her face.
"No, they're not," You deadpan, any amusement dropping from your face "My parents aren't swingers, they have never swung and they never will."
Red sucks a sharp breath through her teeth before a smile cracks onto her face "Touched a nerve there.”
"No shot," You cross your arms, chest rising and falling as you catch up on lost breath, a group of long-distance runners brushing past behind you.
"I just can't believe you're ditching me for Kyle," Red draws out a deep sigh, teasing you.
A subtle heat rose to your face though you chose to ignore it entirely "Dude, no, I'm ditching you for Kyle's mom." At this, Leslie turns to whisper something to Red before you quickly interject, throwing out one hand in her direction "What could you possibly have to say? I don't even know you."
Leslie swivels her head back to look at you, unsure what to say. Red silently mouths 'Oh my god' one hand slapping over the black headband on her forehead pushing her bangs back. "Sorry?" Leslie breaks the silence.
"Yeah, you should be," You say before bringing your attention back to Red and cutting Leslie out from the equation completely "We still on for Sunday?"
"I'm going to strangle you," Red says, disregarding the question, still stuck on your utter bluntness.
You stick your chin up, exposing your neck "Go ahead." You even brush the stray hairs aside to display your throat like you're ready for her to sink her teeth in. An uneasy quiet settled over the conversation once more as you waited for Red to stay true to her words and strangle you. Of course she doesn't, she just stares at you something like disbelief playing in her eyes. You look at Leslie "We cool?"
"We are." She answers, lips pursed.
"Okay," You say, backing away and carrying on with the run you had initially been focused on, leaving Red and Leslie to watch you lose your breath all over again.

While the younger kids were free to bum around in the basement and play video games, you and Kyle were on the edge of seventeen, not yet adults but you were close enough to intermingle with them and nod with a polite smile while they drone on and on about insignificant things that are massive in their eyes.
After your mother had shown you off to the partygoers in the gauzy white sundress that you reserved only for occasions like this, you had found yourself settled at the dining table amongst the food, scribbling down notes from your binder onto your biology project.
Kyle seemed to have the same idea, he pushed one of the three charcuterie boards aside to make space for his half of the project. He sat silently across from you, the farthest he could get without being dragged into another mindless conversation with someone who held him while he was a baby.
Between the two of you is an abundance of food, everyone seemed to have brought a dish for Sheila's birthday, you couldn't imagine that it would all be finished in one night. You had, of course, a little bit of everything piled on a side plate.
As you worked away, being sure your drawn diagram was perfected and every word had been spaced apart perfectly, you tried your best not to glance at Kyle who seemed absolutely undisturbed while he chewed absent-mindedly on his brownie.
"Oh, look at you two," your dad walked into the dining room with a smile on his face "I can't believe you're getting along."
"Me neither," Kyle answers without looking up from his work. While your mother had stuffed you into your Sunday best, Kyle was looking ready for church that he didn't attend, a white button-up tucked into black dress pants.
"Whatcha working on?" Your dad scooped some pasta salad onto his plate and proceeded to peek over your shoulder, peering down at your paper before nodding like he understood. "Nice, good job, kiddo," He gave you a firm pat on the shoulder before pointing a finger gun at Kyle "And Kyle, looking sharp."
"Thank you, sir," Kyle offers him a tight-lipped smile. In recent years he had almost mastered charming other kid's parents, especially yours who gushed on and on about how good of an influence he was.
"Oh, no need for that, buddy," Your dad waves him off before leaving the room.
"Sir?" You look at Kyle, an unimpressed look clear across your face "Kiss ass."
"I'm not even going to dignify that with a response," He says, shifting his focus to the project in front of him.
"You just did, pretentious douchebag," You mutter under your breath, looking down at your own work. "Dignify," You mock, reaching back for the brownies. Something about them had tasted familiar, somewhat nostalgic like those organic sweets your mother would bring back from the grocery store, which you had written off as being gluten-free or something along those lines.
After roughly forty minutes you had finished not only your half of the biology assignment but all of your homework for your other classes as well. You had looked past the doorway, heard the voices of middle-aged parents, and the grating sound of obnoxious laughter and decided to bum around on your phone.
Empty-headed, you stared drowsily at your timeline, constantly refreshing it in the hopes that something more interesting would pique your interest. It was only seven, the sun was still in the midst of setting yet you felt the strong urge to sleep, maybe it had been over-exertion from track or boredom telling you to close your eyes so you could wake up to something better.
You were too in your own head to notice Kyle who had long finished his assignment and now had his arms crossed in front of him flat on the table, chin resting on top of them, head slightly tilted while he stared at you through the plethora of food.
His mouth abruptly stretched with a yawn, this brought your attention over to him. "What the fuck are you looking at?"
"Nothing," Kyle pushed himself off the table until he was back sitting straight in his chair. He put one hand on his back while he stretched, his neatly tucked-in button-up coming loose from the hem of his pants in the process.
The familiar photo of Remy the rat was now displayed on your dim phone, the meme of him choking that had been floating around the internet since 2007 "Do you think Ratatouille has themes of racism and prejudice?"
"No," Kyle answers, ripping the leg of a rotisserie chicken away from the carcass and tearing the flesh away with his perfect teeth.
"No one thinks a rat can cook, sound familiar?"
"No."
"Anyone can cook," You state the quote like it emphasizes the odd point you're trying to make.
"Ratatouille is not about racism."
"How about when Remy's dad says 'This is what happens when a rat gets too comfortable around humans' and then he's like 'We look out for our own kind, Remy,'" You made sure to throw an awful Italian accent over Djangos parts.
"A movie about a rat making spaghetti is not racist."
"I didn't say it was racist, I said it has themes of racism and prejudice."
"It doesn't."
"Immigration and assimilation perhaps?"
"Stop."
"Why?"
"Because I can't think right now, I'm so tired," his hands find their way into his curls while his elbows rest on the table.
You narrow your eyes at him "Are you on drugs or something?"
"No, it's fucking late, I'm tired," He repeats.
"It's seven," You answer, face straight though your eyelids were growing heavy like they were being pulled down. You rub the back of your hand over your eyes like it's going to wipe away the feeling of daze and set you straight.
Weary you lean back in your chair, slamming your phone face down on the table. You put one hand to rest on your brow like a salute to block out the overwhelming light overhead. It was this moment where you craved nothing more than your bed, to lay your head down on satin pillowcases and let sleep consume you completely.
"This is fucking stupid," You look down awkwardly at the neckline of your dress, your chin pressing against your chest as you do so, you then use one hand to gesture to Kyle in his once wrinkle-free button "We look like we're in a cult, the kind that drinks Koolaid,"
"It was Flavour-Aid actually," He corrects.
"What the fuck is Flavour-Aid?"
"Koolaid, basically."
"Okay," You say, sinking deeper into the uncomfortable spruce chair.
"Who am I really, beyond my thoughts, memories, and experiences?" Kyles's eyes are squinted as he stares past you into absolutely nothing, his thoughts entirely somewhere else.
"Kyle Broflovksi."
"Yeah, what?"
"No, that's who you are, fucking idiot."
"Ah," He nods and the two of you fall back into stillness. Neither of you acknowledged each other for a few minutes, you had forgotten Kyle was there at all and his mind was beginning to fill with existential dread.
"Hey, dudes," In walks your uncle Richie, a cheesy smile across his face, from this alone, you can tell he's been spreading his corny humour. "Didn't know you two were still in here," He was your mother's youngest sibling, being in his mid-thirties; also known as your grandparent's accidental pregnancy.
"Nice," You answer like it's cohesive in any way.
Richie doesn't seem to gather any issue from your response, he just grabs a paper plate and begins to fill it up with all of the goods though he pauses when his eyes fall on the brownies, smile faltering. "Who put these here?"
"My mom," Kyle says.
"His mom," you point at him, repeating his statement.
"Shit, these are for the after party if you know, you know," Richie puts his plate of food down in exchange for the brownie platter "Did you guys catch who ate these?" He must've been the most under-dressed of everyone at the party with his grey sweatpants and Metallica tee poking out from beneath his red zip-up.
You and Kyle stare dead straight at each other, the realization washing over you. It wasn't sleep threatening to take you under but marijuana causing your vision to move in frames and lull you to rest and loosen your tongue.
Richie doesn't fail to catch this exchange "C'mon guys," He sticks a hand out in exasperation and you can't miss the disappointment on his face.
"Uh, we didn't know they were laced," You narrow your eyes at him, never did you think you'd side with Kyle.
"I know, I know, this is just fucked up," He runs a hand through his hair, forcing it through any tangles.
"Fucked up?" Kyle's eyes are half-lidded though he still seems furious. "We're high on my mom's birthday and there's like thirty fuck ass adults in the other room, we're getting busted."
"Nah, it's cool," Richie says and you're unsure if he's assuring you and Kyle or himself. "You're a hophead anyway so you should be a pro at pretending to be sober." He gestures at you and then turns his attention to Kyle "We've been to a handful of barbeques together and I don't think either of us wants to get in trouble right now."
"This is fucking sick," Kyle mutters, burying his head into his hands.
"I know," You nod with the glint of a smile playing on your face. As nervous as you were over the fact you would have to act sober until the party wrapped up, you couldn't ignore the comedic aspect of the situation.
"No," Kyle shoots you a glare "Not sick as in cool, sick in a bad way like I'm sick."
"You guys are teenagers, you do these things it's like a rite of passage and your parents did it all the time when they were your age," Once again, Richie tries to shrug off the circumstances.
"Get accidentally drugged by their uncle?"
"No, uh-not that, I meant getting high in general."
"How much is in them anyways?" You ask.
He shrugs "Like roughly twenty-five mg or so."
"In a single brownie?" Kyle presses for clarification with wide eyes to which Richie nods.
"Twenty-five milligrams?" You tried not to yell, this had shaken you to what felt like sobriety for only a few seconds  "I didn't know you were fucking Walter White."
"Hey, man, I left them wrapped up in the fridge with a sticky note that said 'do not eat', I didn't think his mom was gonna put them out."
"Why wouldn't you leave them in your car, dude?" You're looking at him with a tilted gaze, head resting in the palm of one of your hands.
"Temperature sensitive," he says pointing out the fudgy brownies melting into brown sludge like it had been nuked in the microwave.
"What the fuck?" Your mouth falls ajar "Have you ever made a brownie before?
"They usually don't melt," Kyle adds.
"Watch it," Richie had taken this sting straight to heart "They're supposed to be fudgy and you two are the ones who ate them."
"Oh my god, we ate them," Kyle says under his breath, eyes focused on the oak table in front of him, studying each groove. His attention breaks, and he glances around at the food laid before him then reaches to scoop some macaroni onto his grubby paper plate.
"Slow down greedy gut, did you forget you're diabetic?" You slap his hand away from the cheesy macaroni.
"Yeah," He puts the spoon down "I did."
Richie takes a deep breath out "Man, you guys are roasted."
"Time for the family photo!" Sheila yells from the living room, her distinct accent rising over the seemingly endless murmurs.
"Okay, guys, just remember to be cool and act sober, okay?" He tries for a smile, sticking his thumb up and glancing back and forth between the two of you for confirmation "Sober, so good?"
"Relax," You push yourself up from the table, brushing any crumbs away from the skirt of your dress "We're fine."
"Alright," Richie turns on his heels, exiting the dining room with the tray of brownies still in hand.
The moment you and Kyle walked through the doorway, you felt like everyone was staring at you despite not one person turning their head in your direction. Kyle's family had already been sorting themselves out for the photo, he quietly slipped in there, giving his mom a quick hug before smiling at the phone which was being held by Sandra, a woman with far too much wine in her system who took the temporary role of photographer far too seriously.
You settled against a wall next to Weston who had also been suffocating in overly formal clothing. One thought ran through your mind as the Broflovski's smiled for their picture, don't act high.
"What are you doing?" Weston asked, looking up at you with a sneer.
"Huh?"
"You look like taxidermy, why are you doing that with your face?"
You hadn't noticed that the idea of sober you were trying to project was eyes as wide as the moon and a stone face. At Weston's words, you squinted your eyes slightly and began to grin like this was any more natural than the other face you had been making.
"You're weird," Weston tells you before he looks back at the Broflovski family. He wanted to duck back down into Ike's room to hide from everyone as much as you wanted to steal your dad's keys and drive to Dairy Queen.
"Okay, now let's do a silly one," Sandra smiled brightly, she had really drawn this out much longer than it needed to. After the family scrambled to do something vaguely comedic, Sheila motioned for your parents to join.
After what felt like a century, Sandra finally handed the phone back off to Sheila. Just when you're sure that the exchange has ended, Sheila speaks up "I want a picture of the kids together."
Your mom makes a pouty face, placing a hand on Sheila's shoulder "That's a great idea, we haven't taken one of them all together in ages."
"Let's get you two in the back then Weston and Ike can go in front," Sheila's directing you in front of an audience of coworkers and family friends.
Weston had one arm slung around Ike who did the same while Kyle stood stiffly behind his brother. You kept your tradition of keeping your distance from Kyle, standing one metre away from him and your brothers, hands clasped in front of you.
"Sweetie, you aren't in frame," Sheila tells you.
You nod but don't do anything beyond that, you just stay in the same spot that you had initially been in. "Jellybean, maybe you should move closer to Kyle," Your mom smiles softly, though her eyes are telling you that you should probably listen to her.
Taking a step that must've taken you a distance of an inch, you smile at the camera like this has resolved the issue.
"Um, Jellybean," Your mom had a begrudging smile on her face "I meant to stand next to him, behind your brother."
"I'm okay," you say and for a change have no animosity behind your words, you truly were okay with where you were.
Weston's eyebrows had furrowed in confusion as he watched you with a blissfully ignorant smile on your face. His arm was falling asleep, intertwined with Ikes. Kyle was staring at you, just as everyone else who had paid a speck of attention to the photoshoot was.
"Nope, closer," Your mom gestures for you to move in.
She does so rapidly until you take another side step, albeit larger than your last one though you still stood awkwardly out to the side like you were photobombing.
"For fuck sake," Your mom utters under her breath so quietly that no one had picked up on it. "He's not poison, get in there."
"I believe you meant to say venomous," You shuffle your feet again until you are standing next to where you should be, an awkward gap between Kyle where you were meant to be posing behind your brother.
"Don't do this right now, Jellybean," She says through gritted teeth, trying to uphold her composure for the sake of Sheila and the grace of your family.
"Just one quick picture," Sheila tells you, she's still holding up the phone, finger hovering above the shutter button.
Before you can pull any more nonsense that seemed perfectly reasonable in your altered state, you feel a hand slink around your waist. Kyle's hand rested on the outside of your midriff, fingers sinking into your soft skin. Your mind hadn't even processed this fact when he pulled you into him, your body briefly crashing against his. Kyle flashes the camera a movie star smile while you stare up at him, eyebrows furrowed and eyes incredulous. You looked like you were gearing up to yell at him.
Click!
The very second the picture is taken Kyle drops his hand from its spot on your waist and turns to walk away. While the others disperse, you stand stationary and watch Kyle disappear into the blinding light of the kitchen. It was impossible to ignore the heat creeping up your neck and the warmth flushing your cheeks as your hand retraced where his touch lingered.
Against better judgment, you follow him into the kitchen, unsure of what your plan is, but you do it regardless. He's alone in there with a middle-aged man who's speaking to someone on the phone and pays no attention to where Kyle rifles through the fridge.
"That had to be a misdemeanour of some kind," You say, arms crossed while you stand behind the fridge door.
"What are you talking about?" He looks up at you, grabs a jug of water and closes the fridge door.
"That is really fucked up," You add.
"You're kind of in my orbit right now," He holds a hand out and moves it in a circle.
"Then release me, boy." You watch as Kyle reaches into the cupboard to pull out a glass and pour water from the jug into it until it's on the brink of overflowing. He puts the jug down next to his glass and uses one hand to lean against the island.
He swishes his free hand around like he's casting a spell "I release you," Kyle then reaches for the jug instead of the glass he had poured and takes a long swig.
You shake your head watching him drink from the pitcher as if it were a cup "That's not right." You weren't sure what Kyle's tolerance was, you had never smoked with him before, only seeing him take a couple of hits at parties.
"You're not right," He answers, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand and putting the jug back down on the marble countertops.
"One time I made you in the sims and then I made you go swimming in the pool so I could take the ladder out and kill you," You say, leaning against the kitchen island. The man on the phone takes a brief time to cast you a judgemental glance before going back to his phone call.
"Did I die?"
"Nah, they took that feature out so you kinda just climbed out from the side," You answer "I did make you bankrupt and homeless though."
"So I just wonder the streets?" He asks to which you nod "I bet I'm fighting crime."
"No, you just walk around and your hygiene is really bad, you're like visibly dirty."
Kyle freezes for a second, staring past you, he blinks his eyes out rapidly and holds a dinger out to hush you "I think I can hear myself blink." He continues to open and close his eyes "It sounds wet and squishy."
"Gross," You say, letting yourself lean in deeper on the island until you're almost bent in half, across from Kyle.
He runs a hand through his hair and then begins to twirl one finger in his ginger curls before he pats the top of his head "I think I need to cut my hair."
"I think you need to cut yourself," The words fall from your mouth like honey melting from the sun to weigh down the wings of Icarus. His mouth is slightly ajar when you look up to meet his wild gaze. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't say that, don't cut yourself," Had you been sober, you wouldn't have apologized, you would've doubled down and made the statement a million times worse.
"You're an asshole," He says simply.
"So are you," You respond, voice lazy and words drawn out. The man on the phone ends his call, gripping his cell phone like you were going to try and take it from him. He struts past you and Kyle, glaring at the both of you.
"Did we just blow our cover?"
"No, that's Marty, he's an alcoholic so if he tells anyone anything I'll say he's been drinking again," You shrug the question off.
"Is that right? Like morally," He clarifies. "Should we just admit we're high? or maybe that would be bad morally if we got Richie in trouble for something he didn't do." You can see the gears turning in Kyle's head, the way he's analyzing the situation like it's the equation that'll either end the world or save it "Nah, I don't wanna get grounded on my mom's birthday, that's kinda gay."
"That's super gay."
"It's so hot in here," The topic switches once again as Kyle is working on unbuttoning his shirt, taking a deep breath. The very second you notice your eyes linger a moment too long on his hands your head swerves to look at a sign that reads 'This kitchen is seasoned with love' You remember when Sheila bought it, she thought it was hilarious and brought you into the kitchen to see it.
Your mind trails back to the compromising state you and Kyle had been discovered in after the little forest expedition. The interrogation you had to endure, not only with Mr. Waterman but with Wendy as well made you want to hammer nails into your ears. "If it was anyone else but Wendy and our fucking teacher who found us, the rumours would be nuts."
"And that's the worst thing?"
"People thinking that we've slept together? Yeah, it is the worst thing. I'd probably shoot myself and write your name on the wall in my blood."
"How high are you right now?" he squints his eyes.
You shrug "Higher than I think, perhaps."
"Your eyes are kind of insane right now," He points at your face and in turn, you just rub them, too lazy to go check.
"Yours are almost as bright as your hair."
"This isn't even my final form yet."
"What the fuck," You stare at him blankly. You let yourself down the side of the island, spine scraping against it until you drop to the cold tile floors. The frigidness pressing against the back of your calves.
You tuck your head into your hands like it'll magically make you sober. You didn't want to be high anymore or at all that night. You needed a clear head, for your limbs to not feel so loose so you could go back to shutting your thoughts away, so they would die in your throat and never be said.
Kyle has plopped himself onto a stool by the island, peeling a banana from the fruit bowl with precision like he was defusing a time bomb. It seemed like he had entirely forgotten that you were there the second you went out of his sight.
It was nowhere close to your first time smoking though you had taken a little tolerance break for the sake of finals and it was hitting you hard. Everything seemed like it wasn't real like you were in a set where things were hand-crafted to fit the scene. You look down at your hands, balling them up into fists to see if you can feel anything. When all the sensation you receive is a light tap, you put one finger into your mouth and bite, there rested the confirmation that you weren't in a simulation.
What your mind was really craving was a two-leader bottle of diet coke and to curl up on the couch, shrouded in darkness and watch Over the Hedge. You reach a hand up the edge of the countertop to pull yourself up, in the midst of doing so, your foot slips and you are sent toppling over. Your body careened forward, face heading straight for the unforgiving edge of the countertop. There was a sickening crack as your nose collided with the hard surface, followed by a sharp, searing pain that shot through her skull. You collapse back down to the ground, eyes scrunched shut and hand covering your surely felt like a mangled nose.
"What was that?" Kyle turns his head to where he was sure you were though you were no longer in sight. He pries himself away from the stool and makes his way around the island to investigate "What's-oh my fucking god."
"Do you think it's broken?" You ask, moving your hand away to display the nose. The nasal bone itself seemed to be fine, but what rang as concerning was the gash over it that was leaking blood.
"Holy shit, we need to get your parents," He immediately moves to leave but you grab his leg to keep him in place.
"No," you say in what you intended to be a firm voice though it came off as more scared than anything else "We're high, underage, I hate hospitals, and urgent care is expensive."
"You're bleeding from your fucking face."
Gingerly, you poke around the area you had hit, fighting the urge to wince to prove that it wasn't that bad "See? We're good, just a bit of blood." The marijuana had eased the pain in just the slightest by offering the distraction of everything all at once, you were sure it would feel like hell the second you shook your mind clear.
"No, we aren't good, you're fucked up," He says.
"Kyle," Your tone shifts, absolutely serious "My dad will beat the shit out of me if he finds out I'm high, I'll go in the morning if it's actually bad," Truthfully, your dad probably would do some damage if the truth came out. Not only that, but he would bar Richie from seeing you or Weston ever again and your mom was something of a snitch who shared every waking thought with your dad.
He looks down at your figure on the floor, one hand pinching your nose to catch any blood that threatened to spill onto your white dress. His rational thoughts were telling him to rat the both of you out and get you to a hospital though the side of him hazed said it was fine. "You have to go in the morning."
When you move your hand, the blood begins to gush not only from your nostrils but the gash on your nose bridge like juice from cherries that had been torn apart. Now you had a red dress to match your red eyes.
"Yeah, okay cool," You say with a sigh of relief, awkwardly turning on the ground to push yourself up without having your face be inches away from Kyle's. "I need to go upstairs in the bathroom and fix this," What you were trying to get across was that you needed to at least bandage it with the first-aid kit, discreetly.
"What are you going to tell your parents when you go home and you have a huge honker on your face?"
"Um, that I got a nosebleed or that-I don't fucking know, I'll figure it out, fuck face," You answer as you stand up. With a yawn, you shifted to get up, your elbow swinging out in a careless motion. Unfortunately, Kyle had chosen that exact moment to lean forward to grab his phone off the counter, his face perilously close to your elbow's path. Adding another notch to the misfortune of that night, your elbow collided with Kyle's left eye with an audible thud.
Kyle recoiled, his hand instinctively flying to his injured eye as he let out a pained grunt. Your eyes widened in horror as you realized what you had done "Oh my god, it looks like I hit you."
"You did hit me," The anger in his voice isn't unmissable, it's dripping with something that borders between irritation and rage.
"Not on purpose," You retort, quickly wiping away the blood where it pooled above your lip. It had already made it down your face to dribble down your neck and chest before it soaked into the neckline of your dress.
Kyle winced as he gingerly touched the tender skin around his eye, his breath catching in his throat at the searing pain pulsating beneath his fingertips. "Fuck," he mutters.
You felt a tickle in your nose, the pressure builds, the discomfort intensifying with every breath then there came the dreaded sneeze. Instead of the usual sense of relief, there's only pain. A sharp, searing pain radiates from your nose, sending shockwaves of agony through your skull, a splatter of blood from your nose now on Kyles's once pristine button-up.
Your eyes squeeze shut, tears instinctively beginning to push from your eyes as you struggle to regain your composure. The sound that escapes your lips is not the usual sneeze, but a strangled gasp, a testament to the torment wreaked upon your nasal passages. "Fuck, oh my fucking god!" You scream, hands moving upward to cover your nose in the position of a prayer. "Fuck, that fucking hurts, pussy licking cunt face, fuck!"
"Jesus Christ," His voice is breathy, he hadn't entirely comprehended what you had said, his hazy brain was more focused on the throbbing pain enveloping his eye and the blood splattered on his white button-up.
A woman swings around the corner, Alysha, you barely remember what she looked like eight years prior before she bleached her hair to the point it was fried and filled her face with Botox and fillers. "Is everything okay in here?"
"No!" You shout, the vexation wasn't intention but you never thought sneezing would hurt so bad.
"What the hell," Any rage in Kyle's voice was replaced by fear as he stared at Aylsha's face. He looked like a deer caught in headlights though he couldn't bring himself to look away from her pillow face. She had so much filler to the point where her skin would turn loose if it were to be dissolved, her lips were the most obviously overfilled, looking minutes away from bursting. "I think as a society we're way too okay with that."
You brush past him, grabbing his wrist to pull him along. "we're going to the hospital." You're opinion on going to the hospital had changed in an instant. You could've managed if you hadn't sneezed, it felt worse than the initial break. Your senses are overwhelmed by the intensity of the tormenting sensation.
"Why do people do that to themselves?" He lowers his voice.
"Doesn't matter," You dismiss, dragging him into the living room where the majority of the partygoers were gathered. "Danger!" You shout and everyone turns to look at you, startle clear across their wrinkled faces. You split into a grin "There's actually no danger but I need to go to the hospital."
"Jellybean, what happened?" Your mother places her wineglass on the coffee table and rushes over to you, cradling your face in both of her hands while she examines you. Your father isn't far behind, jogging slowly like he was in an action movie, it would've been more efficient to walk over to you.
"We need to go to the hospital," You say simply, clamping your eyes shut so she won't see the redness.
"Kyle!" Sheila exclaims, eyebrows furrowing as she approaches him. She looks up at her tall son, gently touching his swelling eye, red from irritation "My little boy, what happened?" Sheila looks at you, the gash on your nose and the slightly crooked look of it "Did you two fight?"
"No," you answer abruptly, pointing at Richie who was working through a slice of cake "He's sober, he can take us to the hospital."
Richie responds with a nod before he goes back to his cake "Ready to go when you are."
"I just don't understand how this happened," your dad remarks. With each passing second that you weren't on the way to the emergency room, you grew more irritated.
"Kyle, did you hit her?" Gerald stands behind Sheila, his face stony.
"No," You interject "I hit him actually, on accident and I fell and smashed my head on the kitchen island and it really fucking hurts so can we please go?"
"Are you high?" Gerald leans in the slightest to see your red eyes to which you inch back.
"Are you?" Your dad's demeanour changes as he crosses his arms.
All eyes fell on you and you quickly scrambled for an answer, glancing at Richie who looked as panicked as ever before you fell to the conclusion "No, we're teenagers."
Everyone looks either around or at you in confusion over your chosen words. They wondered what exactly you meant by that and you wondered "So why are your eyes red?" Your dad asks.
"It doesn't matter, they need medical attention," Sheila tries to dismiss the topic.
"It's called life, little bro," You clap your hands together like you said something groundbreaking, a small smirk playing on your blood-stained face.
"This is ridiculous," Your dad shakes his head. You glance over at Kyle who's fallen nonverbal, letting his mom poke around his face.
"Because life isn't just all flowers and sausages but we're making the most out of it Gerald so why don't you live a little?" You raise your hands up in the air; in your mind, you are trailblazing by delivering this odd string of words to a crowd of wrinkled faces who watch you like a spectacle. "I would like to get my nose sewn back together.”
"Jellybean, you are acting so strange," Your mother says, catching on to the fact that you might be under the influence.
"It's because of blood loss," Richie cuts in, beginning to usher you and Kyle to the front door. "Don't worry, I'll take good care of them."
You turn your head to stare down your parents as you leave though Kyle's lanky figure blocks them out entirely. He trails behind you, one hand on the small of your back to keep you moving forward. You nearly shudder under his touch but don't make a fight to shake him off.
Tumblr media
Sitting in the sterile confines of the hospital waiting room, you couldn't help but feel a mixture of relief and anticipation. Just moments ago, you had emerged from the emergency room, your broken nose carefully repaired by the skilled hands of doctors. Now, as you awaited your discharge, a sense of tiredness was creeping up on you. You had been there entirely too long though the edibles had yet to wear off.
Your nose was still tender, wrapped in layers of gauze and tape, a constant reminder of the trauma it had endured. But beneath the bandages lay four stitches are what was sure to be a nasty bruise. All you could process was that you really wanted a cigarette.
Kyle walks into the waiting room, he scans the few other people in there before his eyes settle on you. He stood still for a moment, thinking whether or not it would be weird if he sat next to you, he decided that it was and opted for the row opposite to you.
Your eyes wander down to his hands where he clutches a little orange bottling, rattling slightly with movement from the pills inside "You got meds already? They just gave me a slip to take to the pharmacy."
"Yup," He shakes the bottle "Did you know that you cracked my cheekbone?"
"No," you narrow your eyes "I don't have X-ray vision."
Silence hangs between the two of you, the only sound being background noise from other patients and nurses. Now that the heat of the painful moment had disbanded you were left unsure of how to talk to Kyle. You didn't even know if you had only shown him the smallest speck of kindness or if he had put his hand around your waist purely from the influence of the drugs.
"I can't believe my dad thought I would hit you," Kyle said the first thing that came to mind, staring at the bandage in the center of your face.
"I can't believe my parents cared more about me being high than having a mangled nose."
"That was kinda crazy."
"This is all kinda crazy," you answer, trying to keep your face as still as possible to avoid the pain of scrunching or moving your nose. "Are you going to tell everyone that I hit you?"
"Not if you don't want me to."
"Please don't," Your voice is hardly above a whisper when you ask this. "It was bad enough when I hit Cartman," That was true, Cartman had made you out to sound like a violent criminal in every rendition of the story he told. He had fabricated so many aspects of it that it seemed more like fiction than reality, even if people didn't believe him, it wouldn't stop them from spreading it.
"Okay," His tone matches the softness of yours "I won't."
"Thanks," You turn your gaze toward the ground, scraping your mind for something else to say so you don't feel like you're drowning beneath unsaid words. "We should smoke and then enter a hotdog eating contest."
"That's a good idea."
"Do you think we're the only ones who've had that idea?"
"I think if we smoked and went to a hot dog eating contest, everyone would be high."
"Do you think I would be a cat or a dog?" You change the topic again, not on purpose but because that was how your brain was functioning.
"I think we would both be dogs," He says with sureness.
"Yeah, maybe you would be like an Australian Sheppard and have gross crusty shit in your eyes because your owners hate you and they never clean you."
"I'm not Australian."
"Well, they don't have Jersey shepherds because I'm pretty sure you can't give dogs spray tans."
"I think I would be a Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever."
"You're not Canadian either and don't make up fake dog breeds, man," You cross your arms.
"It's not fake."
"Totally is, actually, you would be one of those fugly bald dogs that shake all of the time and people adopt them out of pity."
"All dogs are beautiful to me, actually," Kyle says in a matter-of-fact tone like you wouldn't believe his statement.
"Consumerism is so out of hand because how many water bottles do you really need?" You mind once again wondered to things that you had seen online hours prior. What was haunting you was a video of a woman who had collected 78 colours of a reusable water bottle, defeating the purpose of the eco-friendly aspect of it.
He genuinely thinks long and hard about your question "You need one good water bottle, maybe two depending on the circumstances."
"Hey, I have a joke, it's really funny and I just thought of it."
"Shoot."
"If Kyle falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, did he make any sound at all?" You crack an awkward, faltering smile. The second you said it out loud you realized that it wasn't as funny as intended. It was like you were teetering on the verge of sober, your mind so incredibly close to acting like yourself again before it slipped back into the haziness. "Yeah, it was pretty loud actually."
To your surprise, Kyle actually smiles. His lips curve upwards in a perfect arc, revealing a set of teeth that gleam like pearls against the backdrop of his sun-kissed skin. Each tooth is straight and even, with a dazzling whiteness that seems almost too pristine to be real. You couldn't think back to the last time he smiled at something you said without being sarcastic. Digging through your brain you weren't sure that he had ever smiled at you.
You furrow your eyebrows, mouth pulled back in a grimace, eyes squinting like his perfect grin was an offensive sight "Don't smile at me like that." You could feel your jaw tensing "Jesus, don't smile at me at all."
"Hey kids," Richie had returned, coming to your rescue just when you thought you were going to shatter from the conflict in your mind "Brought you these, a little souvenir from the gift shop," He tossed both of you a Garfield stuffed animal. Garfield looks almost frightening, his half-lidded eyes uneven, weird body emaciated, and fur pale like he's been experimenting. You loved it.
"Thanks," You smile up at your uncle, being careful not to let Garfield touch your blood-stained dress. Kyle has a small grin playing on his face as he holds it in his large hands.
"You got it," He gives you a quick thumbs up "So if everyone is in the clear are we good to go? You and Kyle both nod and Richie turns on his heels, swinging an arm in motion for you to follow him, his car keys jingling in one hand.
The automatic doors slid open as the three of you neared them, the night on the other side of them was brisk. As you and Kyle slipped into the back seat of Richie's prius, you couldn't help but cast one more look at him; a final look at his hooked nose and sharp jaw while you could still write it off as being high.

Pairing: Elder Yautja (T'Kua) x Reader (gender neutral, no Y/N)
Rating: PG-13
Word count: 1,911
Warnings: violence, minor character death, angst, fluff, hostage situation, one suggestive line of dialogue
Note: I've had this idea bouncing around in my brain for weeks, so have a fic. Lemme know what you think of my boy T'Kua :)
Tumblr media
Dawn has just broken over the jungle horizon when you are wrenched from your slumber. You are groggy as sleep leaves you, just barely registering that T'Kua, your mate and the elder in charge of the hunting party currently camped here, has launched out of your shared bed and begun to hastily don his armor.
"What's going on?" you ask as the sounds of war meet your ears.
Something is wrong. Very, very wrong. The camp should be secure. There should be no fighting here.
You stand just as T'Kua finishes gearing up, intending to go outside to inspect the surroundings, when he puts an urgent hand up to you.
Stay, the action says. A command you reluctantly accept.
With that, T'Kua grabs his biohelmet and leaves the tent. In the flash of the outside world you see as the flaps close behind him, you see only smoke and chaos.
You pace around the tent as the sounds of gunfire, screams, and screeches meet your ears.
Humans, you realize. There should be none of those on this planet, save for you. Every fiber of your being longs to run outside, to try and see if you can aid in the conflict. But you know that if humans are indeed in the camp, then they are just as likely to shoot anything that moves before they realize you are one of their own kind.
You shudder to think of what T'Kua would do should that come to pass.
Time is meaningless within the tent. It could have been minutes or even hours before the commotion outside abruptly halts. You strain your ears, knowing the humans are speaking outside, but they are just far enough to where you cannot parse their words. So you take the opportunity to peek outside of the tent flaps.
Your stomach drops at what you see.
T'Kua is on his knees before a squad of heavily armed men, arms strung out to the side.
Clever, you think. He can't reach his detonation device without both hands.
The rest of the hunting party, T'Kua's brothers and fellow yautja you've come to bond with as well, stand tersely around their leader.
Some are injured, a fact made evident by the spatters of bright green blood clinging to their bodies. Their weapons are lowered, but you can tell each of them are like tightly strung bows, ready to strike at a moment's notice.
The humans' weapons are trained on T'Kua, and before you can stop yourself, you launch yourself from the tent into a run towards him.
"Stop!" you cry.
T'Kua's helmet jerks towards you, a pained growl leaving him as you sprint in his direction. You pay it little mind as you skid to a stop in front of him, arms spread wide as if mimicking his posture.
"Stop," you pant, "don't kill him."
You faintly hear one of the men in the firing squad utter an "oh, what the fuck" under his breath.
The air is thick with tension. Again, time matters little. You aren't sure how long you stand there, arms out in a feeble attempt to protect your mate, before the lead human lowers his gun.
"...What the hell are you protecting that... thing for?" he asks.
You pause as you think of how to explain it in a way they would understand. You know immediately they would never fathom that T'Kua is your mate; that you have the same sense to protect him as he does for you. You are unsure if they would even understand that the hunting party, and by extension the yautja as a whole, are your people. You've been with them for years. You feel more kinship with them than you ever had with other humans during your years on Earth.
"Don't kill them," you say, a desperate attempt to skirt the question and refocus on the issue at hand. "They won't harm you if you're not a threat."
Too late for that, you think. Even if the humans were to drop their weapons now, they had already sealed their own fate when they ambushed the camp. Still, it was all you could think of in the moment.
A low, furious growl from behind you undermines your statement.
"Bullshit," another man says. "They've killed five of our men already."
"Because you ambushed us," you reply.
The leader huffs a sarcastic laugh. One that settles coldly in your bones.
"Us," he repeats. "Looks like they've got you thinkin' you're one of them and not some pet for 'em to kill off when they've... had their fun."
You would've understood the implication even if he hadn't raked his eyes down your form with a salacious grin as he said it.
Another growl from behind you - this time coupled with the sound of straining rope and several other angry chuffs from T'Kua's brothers.
You want to refute the man's claim. Try and reason with him. But the atmosphere is much too tense for that now. One more foul insinuation and you can't promise a safe outcome for anyone - human or yautja.
"Look, I don't know why you're here," you say, "but if you just let us go, we'll-"
"No."
The sound chills you. T'Kua rarely speaks ooman, such language typically reserved for quiet moments between the two of you. But this is no soft moment.
"They die."
The world stills for a breath that seemed to stretch into eternity.
"Any of you freaks move a muscle," the leader says before pointing his gun at you, "and your little pet dies first."
A pause. You can practically hear the gears turning in T'Kua's head as he wracks his brain to come up with a plan. In the meantime, the lead human speaks again.
"We're from United Corp," he states. The name doesn't ring a bell, but then again, you've been away from Earth for years. "Here to scout."
You faintly hear T'Kua behind you, speaking in yautja tongue to his brothers. You can only pick up on a few words as the man drones on before you.
Ready.
Kill.
Protect.
Then, just barely loud enough for you to hear, T'Kua utters one more word in ooman.
Down.
You drop to the ground, hands over your head as guns fire, ropes snap, and yautja screech. Your eyes are pinched closed against the dirt, faintly registering the sounds of death on both sides and the feeling of a heavy presence above you.
It isn't long before the sounds of carnage end, replaced by an unsettling quiet that's punctuated by heavy breathing. You flinch as you feel a hand gently touch your shoulder, then relax when it is followed by a familiar quiet chittering.
"Over," T'Kua says softly. "Safe."
You roll onto your back before opening your eyes, seeing your mate hovering above you. A couple of his tendrils are severed, and there appears to be a deep gash along his left shoulder. It comes as a sudden shock as you realize he accepted injury in exchange for shielding you. You push yourself upwards, sitting upright as you try to wrap your arms around his torso. You allow only a moment of quiet tenderness before you're moving to stand.
"We... we need to leave," you say. "They might not be the only scouting party here."
T'Kua nods and stands with you. You watch as he bows his head, then follow his gaze to find two of his brothers lifting another's lifeless body and carrying him in the direction of your cloaked ship nearby.
There will be plenty of time to mourn once the ship is in orbit. For now, you follow T'Kua's lead and bow your head for a moment before going back to your tent to pack your things.
T'Kua is conspicuously solemn as he gathers the pelts on your shared bed. Something deeper than grief. It isn't until you catch him staring at the detonation device on his wrist that it hits you.
In yautja culture, when one loses a hunt, it's over. Yautja either return victorious, or they do not return at all. T'Kua had been captured. Despite the fact that he had ultimately won in the end, in his mind, he had lost the hunt. He lost one of his own. As their elder, it is his duty to watch over them.
Of course, death is an accepted outcome of every hunt for a yautja. But that does little to ease the pain.
You wish to comfort him. Wish to reassure him that he had not lost. But time is of the essence, and there is little left to spare as you continue to silently dismantle and carry the hunting camp back onto the ship.
Watching T'Kua pilot the ship away from the planet you've called home for the past several months is bittersweet. The hunt is not finished, but it cannot be helped. Yautja do not know the concept of retreating, but given the unknown number of more humans on the planet and the lack of preparation that comes with it, it is better to return to Yautja Prime for now until more reconnaissance can be done. You have little doubt that this is the last time you've seen this planet.
Injuries are quickly tended to before the yautja return to the front of the ship to mourn. Once the proper funerary rites are performed for T'Kua's brother and the ship is bound for home, you follow your mate to his quarters. As the door closes, you tenderly grab his wrist and remove the detonator from it.
"You did not fail," you say softly as you sit the device on a shelf.
T'Kua removes his biohelmet and places it next to your bed. He turns to you, resting a hand against your cheek.
"Almost... lost you," he says slowly. "Did... lose..."
"I know," you answer, placing your hand atop his. "but you killed the enemy. The rest of us are safe. I'm safe. You did not fail."
"When you came to me," T'Kua says, then pauses, "...scared. Very scared."
It is nearly unheard of for T'Kua to admit fear, but he will do so when it comes to you. Perhaps not when others are present, but you know he fears for your safety. And you know that today did not do anything to assuage that fear.
You decide not to discuss it further. There is no need to. Instead, you reach up to his shoulder to run a hand along the skin near his now-healing wound as you look at the several tendrils that are now considerably shorter than the rest.
"You got wounded protecting me," you say softly.
"Is nothing," he responds. "You are mate. Will kill for mate. Will die for mate."
You need no reassurances to know he means it.
T'Kua removes the rest of his weapons and armor with your aid, placing them in their proper places before you reach for him and guide him to bed. Yautja Prime is a long way away, and the others are more than capable of piloting the ship in the time it will take for T'Kua to rest.
He lies with you, pulling you to him before you close your eyes and focus on his heartbeat beneath your ear. You will be surprised if he actually sleeps, but you suppose any rest at all is better than none.
He runs a tender mandible along the crown of your head as holds you tighter.

Hey, is it still open ? If it is, I've got something to ask. See, the university that I attend is apparently quite focused on sports, when compared to degrees such as mine in linguistics. It means that, on my way to class, I see a lot of hot men with great hairstyles, and I've always felt a bit jealous at that. Don't get me wrong, I love the eyecandy, but it always made me wonder what would happen if, one day, I entered the wrong building. Could you help me to see what would happen ? Just as an experiment, of course, I want to go back to my degree nice and easy after that...
Team Player
Linguistics? Oh dear, oh dear. I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you won’t be getting anywhere with that. But don’t worry, I’m feeling generous today. Okay, listen up. It’s very simple, all you have to do is follow that hot jock with the gelled blond hair to the left. No, no, not the right, the left. Take note of his smile. The way he laughs at literally nothing. Why? Oh, no reason…
Tumblr media
Whoops. The locker room you say? What a blunder. Egg on my face, I tell ya. But while you’re there, maybe it’s worth taking in the sights and….smells. Every step is like walking through the humid air of the jungle, a breeze of sweaty jockstraps assaults you from every direction as the Football team get changed. You fail to avert your eyes from their hot glistening bodies, the display of pure strength and testosterone.
The jock you followed in notices you, notices certain inadequacies that need amending if you’re gonna be on the team. The team? Yes, the team. That messy hair for one. You barely get the opportunity to argue as he sits you down and scrapes the clippers across your skull. The buzzing sound makes you shiver. An overwhelming lightheaded feeling allows him to easily tilt your head down and mow the back. Running his hands through what little remains as he gells it up into a spiky jock style. Patting your strapped rear and padded thighs as the dirty, preused tight leggings pull up your legs and cover your cupped crotch. Your mouth opens, opens before your brain has engaged, just hanging ajar for several seconds. “B—bro.” The word is more of a proclamation than anything else. You impulsively adjust your junk, a clear shadow visibly outlines where your big balls push the cup outward.
He tells you that the newbies are liable if the team loses. That would be you. Taking one…or many, so to speak, for the team is the accepted punishment. He tells you this while stroking at his own cupped groin, a rather large bulge growing as you swallow hard.
Before you know it, you’re completely kitted out in the heavy uniform, a thick helmet lowering over your head - silencing those niggling doubts in the back of your increasingly tiny, sports obsessed mind. It’s like a deprivation chamber for your head, your inner monologue being blocked. The only thing that matters to you now is the game.
The game.
The ball.
The team.
The… punishment.
The twitching of your cock and ass makes you wonder if losing would be all that bad. You stand up and admire yourself. You barely recognise what you see, uncontrollably getting turned on by your own appearance. Were your arms always that chunky, that tanned? Like prime cooked beef hanging from your wide shoulders. Looking like a proper jock boy…smelling like one too. Huhuh. You turn, smiling dimly back at your bro. Laughing out loud for a reason you don’t remember. Uhh, I’m sure it’ll come to you…eventually.
I mean, you’re just trying out something new, right? No harm done, you rationalise as you sprint and achieve your first touchdown, your memory of…le..lin….lingizztics? Completely knocked loose from your ‘bro’d out, empty head.
Of course, the team loses anyway. Though you, and the rest of the team have suspicions about how accidental your ‘fumbles’ really were. Never-mind, that didn’t matter so much anymore, not while the whole team form an orderly queue behind your bent over rear. Your blonde bro is first up, he spreads your sweaty cheeks wide, spits on your crack and lines himself up for the ‘shot’. “You ready to learn how to handle some balls dude?”
“Hell yeah brah!”

When the reporters found out it was your birthday: shit got crazy.
—>“What did he get you?”
—> “How much did he spend?”
—>“How many diamonds?”
—> “Was it something for the bed-“
“Enough! He got me breakfast.”
—> “Like from France- oh was it covered in gold leaf”
“No, it was a drink from Starbucks and (enter whatever ya like)”
—> “Wait, he didn’t get you anything?”
People ask you why he’s so cheap.
—>“He has all that money, doesn’t he?! Why won’t he actually buy you something for your birthday?”
You shoot back- “he’s not a damn bank! He’s my boyfriend. He doesn’t need some fancy golden diamond whatever to show he loves me!”
Takes a long time to actually engrave that in Shoto’s brain -that he doesn’t need to buy you the world.
On your first date when you both were in the U.A. He tried to buy you a golden, diamond, thingy - yeah no.
He’s currently a pro hero now, and you both graduated around 5 years ago. He doesn’t buy you jewelry, or cars, or anything like that. He gets you stuff for cooking. Since you like to cook/bake for the two of you.
You say you made the soup with love, NO IT’S NOT BOTTLE YOU CAN BUY
The first time you told him that, the boy looked confused- like is that possible? But then he eats it and he’s like ‘oh. Oh, are you sure that isn't an ingredient?’
Will come behind you and hug you while you cook, lips pressed to your shoulder blade, and ask :
“making it with love?”
“Of course Sho” you laugh
He did end up getting you a necklace for your 3rd anniversary. (It was after the notion of not needing to buy you stuff was engraved into his head.) It's a pretty silver necklace. A thin silver chain with a little salt shaker charm on it, like the ones you’d find in dinner, with the words ‘made with love’ engraved on the back.
You hugged him so tight the day he got you that. He had just come home from patrol and had this flat little teal box. He understood jewelry more than anything after that- it’s supposed to be meaningful.
He'll rest his forehead on your collarbones, his nose touching the little charm that hangs from your neck as his arms wrap around you.
“Sho what are you doing?” You laugh, staring down at the pro hero who just got out of work.
“Just refilling on love”
Oh! At one gala you wore the necklace because screw Endeavor- “
“Not fancy my ass I’ll show him how fancy my love can be.” Sho just smiled. His cufflinks match your necklace.
His home screen is a picture of you mid-fall. The noodle dish you made, coming apart in the mid-air. You look like you’re about to topple over any second, balancing on one leg as the bowl is only in contact with your fingertips. You had asked him earlier to get a picture of you turn with the dish, thinking it would be funny. Or cute. You don’t know- it was meant to be fun. What you didn’t anticipate was Marshy(your cat) sprinting in front of you.
▪️Izuku Midoriya▪️
Tumblr media
Izuku never realized how soft his hair could be until you bought him this certain brand of conditioner.
Hair is like a cloud after you taught him how to take care of it. And his hair looks so… tamed? Like each curl is defined and shiny.
“It- it looks so good!”
He feels more confident and even looks more confident in the photos published by reporters.
He turned pale the first time he saw the price tag of the products you bought him for his hair but you just said.
“You're worth it ZooZoo. Plus it feels nice, right?”
He couldn't stop running his fingers through it- you couldn’t either.
Izuku has a thing for shoes- and it’s not like Kirishima with crocs-
He likes to buy you shoes.
And if you have feet or leg issues(from past injuries or pressure sensitivity etc) he spends so much time researching and sifting through reviews to ensure you’re comfortable.
His heart melted when you came home wearing these nice (pretty) green and black sneakers that match his hero uniform.
They're pictures on the web fans made which show pictures of you wearing your sneakers(a little bit creepy ngl) and pictures of his hero costume and pointing out all the similarities.
The fans fricken LOVE that you both match. To a point, they will send both of you matching sweatshirts, shirts, and pants(or he’ll get a pair of pants and you’ll get a skirt with a similar pattern to his pants if that's what you prefer).
The man picked you up and spun you around when he SEES YOU WEARING ALL MIGHT PLATFORM SNEAKERS(or just ALL MIGHT sneakers if you are not into platforms.)
You both have a lot of matching shoes- converse, sneakers, and his dress shoes are red to match your red heels and/or dress shoes.
He totally had a pair of sneakers that have blues prints of hero costumes as well as a pair of white sneakers that just say ‘shoes’
Izuku ends up giving you your favorite pair of sneakers for your birthday. He hand-painted them, swirls of your favorite colors skillfully and painstakingly done. The words “I love you” are written on the side of the shoes in his handwriting. You love them. And wear that everywhere.
His Lock Screen looks like this:

This is an idea I had for a wolfstar oneshot, it's all fluff.
Remus and Sirius just moved in together, this is the first time Sirius comes home to Remus, obviously, he has a freak out.
Sirius throws his shoes off as he calls, to his freshly moved in boyfriend, "Hi, I'm home!"
This is a big step and they've postponed for a while now, trying not to get anything wrong, trying to keep the relationship healthy as much as possible. Sirius can't remember the amount of times he thought "what if he doesn't like me once he sees me every day?".
At some point he got bored of it and asked Remus to move in, and three days later, he was there, with all of his books and jumpers and tea cravings and his soft smiles, swelling his boyfriend heart. He got Sirius to go grocery shopping because "you don't have any of the good ones, love".
He walks down the hallway towards the open space kitchen, excited he got home from work.
Remus smiles at him, "I made you tea, it's already too late for-" he can't finish his sentence before Sirius hides behind the wall separating the kitchen and hallway.
As much as he tries to act nonchalant and the mysterious type, sometimes he just fails. Sirius is more transparent than the cleanest glass in the world. How could he bare the image of Remus, leaned on the kitchen counter -their counter- with a mug of steaming tea in hand, smiling at him as he always is? How could he control his legs to not carry him away? How could he not shut his eyes closed as he feels his face heat up?
This is absolutely ridiculous, Sirius is hiding behind a wall, from Remus, because... Yes, this is ridiculous. Absolutely not punk rock. It isn't right.
He somehow knew this day would come, one day when he'll get so flustered he'll run out of the room, but he had hoped it wouldn't have been so soon as now. As today.
"Sirius? Are you okay?" Remus's voice is full of concern, as he walks towards him. As soon as he stops in front of him, Sirius wants to disappear into thin air. He's humiliating himself, and he's doing an incredible job even, as always.
Remus leans closer and closer, faces inches apart. He always does that. You'd think the big grumpy Remus Lupin is reserved and even emotionally unavailable, but he's so touch starved, all the time, he can't resist getting close to Sirius, like two magnets. But today it's a very weird day, because Sirius slides down and avoids Remus's arm and he looks like he's ready to sprint in two seconds.
He doesn't. If he'd sprint now he'd break a record, "Longest humiliating session in the whole world".
"Am I doing anything wrong?" Remus looks a bit skeptical and more confused. He can't understand why his boyfriend is running away from him, let alone avoid he's presence or touch. Sirius is clingy and likes cuddles. Remus is going on an overthinking spiral, as always, as Sirius is trying to find a way to explain without embarrassing himself more.
He goes into the kitchen and picks up the mug of tea, of his favorite, because of course Remus would know his favorite tea, they're in a committed relationship, and gulps down half of it. Humiliating yourself with such success takes energy from you.
"It's not your fault.." He tries to find the best words to get out of this situation, but he's incapable. What would he say? "Oh, Moony, I literally got brain damage and probably a vein just burst in my head just by looking at you, so I ran away from you, it's simple, see? Not your fault at all." Yeah, no, absolutely not saying that.
Sirius sighs, Remus sighs as well. The taller boy has begun to look even more concerned as he tries to take a step towards Sirius and he takes one behind.
"Okay, let's stop this. What's wrong?" Remus stops in his tracks and crosses his arm over his chest. This is ridiculous. He actually has to physically chase his boyfriend?
"I- you see... Uh... Fuck."
"I can see from the day I was born. Spill it, what's wrong." He looks more and more worried about Sirius.
"I- I'm sorry, you just looked.." He breathes out slowly, he can say this, he always compliments his Moony, his Moony is beautiful and talented and amazing and pretty and hot and all the good things in the world. He says three of these per hour.
"I looked like what? A mummy? A ghost?" Remus has unfolded his arms and is now again leaned against the counter, because why wouldn't it be fun to try and kill Sirius today?
"No!" He hurries to correct and maybe a bit aggressively in tone, yes, but everything is escalating very quickly. Irritation bubbles in his throat, at himself, at how unfair life is in this moment, who knows, "Can't you just stop being yourself for two seconds, you're nearly killing me here!"
All Remus does is fold his arms back and frown. Stupid hot wanker 'frowner'.
"You looked good, okay?! And I- I got a bit flustered or something, I don't know!" He gulps the rest of his tea. Realization comes to his boyfriend's face, a sly smile forming on those lips.
"Oh, Sirius..."
In the next two seconds, Sirius is buried in Remus's arms, and he does nothing but bury his face further in his chest.
Remus pulls away enough to look at him and lifts his chin up. "You don't have to run when you feel like that, it's okay." A kiss arrives on his nose. "But if it helps," another kiss on his forehead, "you can do that, but I prefer you not." He smiles down at him as he leans closer again, lips almost touching. "You're sweet."
They share a long soft kiss, to Sirius's excitement.
All of the embarrassment and overthinking is long forgotten. A deep feeling of gratitude settles in Sirius's heart.
"Kiss me again."He reaches up with both his hands and tugs down at his Moony's neck. His moony is beautiful, and perfect and everything he could ever ask for.
His Moony also kisses him again.

So I have an au FengQing fic in which FQ take HC’s wager and lose, becoming humans (bc they’re honorable unlike those other fucks). I’ve been trying to update (yes, I know I have like nine wips, I AM trying), but that’s not the point.
The point is that my stupid ass brain has fed me yet another crack idea: [besides them going to war, FX beheading a XZ imposter, MQ mocking beyond all reason a Ju Yang imposter, one of MQ’s adopted kids and ex-official ascending during this time, FX not beating the cut sleeve accusations (MQ does not openly drool like he does lmao, it’d be funny, esp since he’d finally not be pretending to hate MQ and actually acknowledge him in all his glory), the two having mwah👌🏻 teamwork, the Chinese-shogun’s (correct later, self) sons deaths bc they’re assholes and power hungry—just after FX thinks aloud to MQ if he shouldn’t just take over that estate if all the sons die and a lil tussle about it, so they take it over upon their return and MQ the Ex-Again-Lower Class changes life for his villagers. Oh and he’s visited by the new general of the south a few times. He pointedly makes her first shrine in the exact spot she ascended bc his autistic ass is that flavor of sentimental (someone else did a good read on MQ being autistic. He is in my fics, no like then scroll).]
—Is FX getting cursed (probably after pissing them off) by some wrath to… be a woman. Of course she’s mortified. Absolutely mortified. MQ can’t do anything, with all his cultivation power and research. Southern General can’t either. MQ offers asking PM (or heaven) for help but FX puts that idea in the grave. So, she’s stuck. But Feng I’ve Always Wanted A Big Family Xin warms up to the idea. Naturally, MQ will NOT break his cultivation nor would FX try to cross the clear boundaries and his promise that he’d never need sex from MQ, but MQ had an uncle (the baby brother of Momma Mu) and a descendant shows up, the spitting image of MQ (we’ve all seen “I’m my great great relatives reincarnation” images). That’s all Momma’s Mu’s genes running strong. Bc of what her husband turned out to be (despite the parents having accepted the suiter and had the option to take her and MQ w them), her “side” wasn’t spoken of highly nor a lot.
MQ and FX have talked about this, as long as FX doesn’t bring home a disease, she’s free to fuck whoever she wants—preferably with subtly. She and cousin man hit it off. Blah blah blah, this is getting too long, anyway he hangs around. Inevitably, pregnancy happens. FX is tickled pink bc yay family and MQ is the anxiety-induced dotting-est “husband” ever (ignoring that FX never thought she wouldn’t be in his position). Cousin man went to idk do a thing and comes back, arguements and discussions are had. MQ gets yelled at for affectively banishing cousin man (MQ is the bbs’ Baba). MQ demands why not since he’s not being trustworthy (given what MQ’s dad was, he’s got high standards). FX admits it’s because she wants her kids to look like him—be a mix of them, the cottage core coupling dream. MQ, not for the first time, questions the allos.
Idk, my brain may have taken “FX is an ornery himbo” and sprinted.
FQ: *argueing over battle strategies* MQ, a man with a special interest of fighting: shut up and listen to someone with more know-how than you. Good boy. FX: … okay… 😳😳😳 Lmaoooo
FX: paint my eyebrows! MQ, a dumbass when it comes to FX: ???? You have too much eyebrow already tho. FX, who just wanted the lovey-dovey stuff: >:0
FX: what’s that look for? MQ: nothing. I don’t have a look. FX: don’t bullshit me! MQ: fine. It’s just… how funny would it be if we made it a rule that any probable suiters for our daughters had to be pure virgins too. FX: … that’s gonna piss so many people off, I love it
New idea that’s too cute not to share: FX walking into the kitchen for some water, and after an unexpected bathroom break courtesy of changed body, early in the morning to find MQ cleaning up some new street kids he’d somehow collected over night. MQ: … 👀 Kids: *frozen* FX, sighing: it’s too early for this. Whatever, I’m going back to bed. MQ, nuzzling the face of the kid he was currently scrubbing: yay🥰

More Memories
🌠- A time they wished upon a falling star
The princess dropped by the edge of the river as she stumbled out of the portal. She wrapped her arms around herself and sobbed out loud, tears pouring down her fine, round cheeks.
Reddening marks on her palms were a clear visual to the burning of her skin from digging her nails all night long. Her face burned bright like a ripe strawberry from a painful combination of shame and anger. Giesbach’s demeaning words, the disgust in Krone’s eyes, and the laughter of those around were a forever imprinted image that made her want nothing else but scrape off a section of her brain.
Kazuha threw her head back, gritting her teeth as if she were trying to bite back the continuous river of tears dripping down the side of her face. Suddenly, there was a bling in the abyss above.
Ah, the stars. A starry night sky was something the Demon Realm would never have. Humans truly had a lovely world. The tail of light left behind by the falling star was no less beautiful than when her mother displayed the universe before her and sang her to sleep.
Kazuha knelt close to the water, almost ripping the grass out off the ground. She glared up at the night sky, sitting silently amidst the singing of crickets and croaking frogs.
“I wish I was never born…”
🐺- A memory about being alone
Kazuha returned the quill into the bottle of ink and leaned back against her chair with an audible sigh of relief. At last, she had finished all of her paperwork and finally had time to rise from her desk to air her head.
She slipped out of her office and paced down the hallway, quickly realizing her surroundings were quieter than usual. There were no distant disturbances like unhinged Familiars running after their troublesome master or a clumsy witch messing up her spells.
Right, Kazuha remembered. Mystic had come in a few minutes ago to tell him and the rest of the family would be leaving for a visit up into the Human Realm. Of course, she was welcomed to go, but she decided against it in order to finish up her work.
It was only her and the sighing souls of the Banmaden.
A few minutes afterwards, she left the kitchen with a steaming cup of tea and a side plate with a slice of strawberry cheesecake on it. She was planning on settling on one of the castle’s livings but came to a stop as she paused the throne room.
Kazuha entered the hall and quietly settled both plates over a nearby desk. She stood, gazing at the throne in silence.
As a young child, she used to feel nothing but fear anytime she was near that spot. But now that it sat desolated in barely lit room, there was nothing scary about it.
She shuffled close enough to brush a hand over the armrest. A smile brew on her lips as she elegantly turned, like a proud monarch gazing upon their awing crowd, and sat down on the plush seat.
Though the room was dim and quiet, she felt victorious. If only she could make that tyrant see her take a seat on his precious throne… it was an blissful thought.
🌟- WILDCARD
Blood splattered on the sand as Kazuha spat. Mystic snapped around to look at her with worry and fear all at once, but didn’t even have time to even question her health when she sprinted out into the crowd of witches gathering around them.
“Je vais vous faire regretter à toutes les salopes d'avoir levé la main contre moi et ma famille!”
Mystic opened his mouth to warn her to not do anything impulsive, but of course, she didn’t allow him to say anything. The princess knelt jerked out her hands, flames biting down on the sleeves of her shirt.
“Down, Mys!” She demanded.
Mystic dropped without questioning and even threw his arms over his head.
Kazuha had managed to make a few of the witches to back away, but the ones that remained would not back out at anything.
“Your retches souls will serve me and my castle once I’m done with your ass!”
Oh, boy, Mystic sighed internally.
There was an enormous blaze and a wave of roaring flames exploded out of her body. It was like the sun had at last made an appearance in the lightless Demon Realm. Witches shrieked into the night, the wind carrying off their agony like howling of crying wolves.
It all happened so fast that when it was finally over, Mystic had to take a moment to process.
Ahead, stood Kazuha, huffing as she recovered from her outburst. Her shirt was peeling off and crumbling from the heat of her hellfire. Mystic looked around at the silhouettes left behind by the witches. Charred corpses littered the ground as he jogged up to her. He shook off his jacket and draped it on her, then looked around with a sigh.
“Welp, this’s gonna be an issue.”
Kazuha slowly inhaled and exhaled, eyes closed. She opened them back up and fixed Mystic’s jacket around her. “No, it will not… I’ll make sure of it.”

Prologue
Karolin awoke to a blurry blue sky. She groped around the dusty campsite until her hand found her glasses. Horn-rimmed with a gold frame. It was really just fancy yellow plastic, but saying “gold” helped impress her classmates. Probably. With sharpened vision, she glanced around the campsite. The fire had been put out, all the other sleeping bags were gone, and all that remained of her friends’ presence was a note written on a piece of scrap paper.
“We are going back to Yttervik,” it read, “Meet us in Salthamn for dinner if you can swim fast enough!”
“Oh no,” Karolin said under her breath, “Oh no oh no oh no.” She quickly rolled up her sleeping bag, shoveled her belongings into her backpack, grabbed her Game Boy before she forgot it, and sprinted down the trail toward the small beach where they had moored their boats.
When she got there, sweaty and wheezing, Karolin saw that all the boats had left, taking all the other partygoers with them. All except for one. A single rowboat sat on the shore holding a single person: a guy about her age in an army uniform. He had one arm propped up on his military rucksack and a comic book in the other. He had been around the entire weekend, but Karolin hadn’t spoken a word with him. She hadn’t spoken with most of the people at the two-night party, but especially not with this person.
“Tack, tack själv!” Karolin gasped. Then she remembered that she was talking to someone in the military. She figured she should probably be even slightly put-together. She pushed her shaggy, dark blond bedhead back behind her ears and pushed her glasses up onto her face.
The boy said something in a triumphant tone, but in a language Karolin could barely understand. Was it… German?
“Pratar du svenska?” asked Karolin.
“Eh… nein?” the military cadet asked in reply.
“Oh.” Karolin rebooted her brain to run on English. “Is English good?”
The cadet appeared to do the same brain-reboot. “Ja,” he said, “English is good. Better than my Swedish, at least.”
“Thank you so much for staying behind,” Karolin said as she tossed her backpack into the rowboat, “I can’t believe… well, no. I can believe they would leave me here.”
“I don’t leave my comrades behind,” the German boy said, “I counted heads as everyone left. I knew someone was missing.” Karolin plopped down in the boat, and the German pushed off into the bay. “Karolin, right?”
“Y-yes,” Karolin said, a bit startled, “How do you know my name?”
“People said it during the party,” he said simply.
“What did they say about me?” asked Karolin, though she was afraid of what the answer might be.
“Mostly good things,” he said, “From what I hear, you’re a straight-A student. And you fixed the Gunnarsens’ home computer. Håkan is pissed that you beat his high score on Tetris, but apart from that the worst I’ve heard is from a couple of guys who said you turned them down. I didn’t listen to what they had to say about you.”He stopped rowing for a moment and turned to Karolin. “You shouldn’t, either. Men can be fragile when their pride is wounded.”
“But you’re a man, too.”
“Some of us are self-aware.”
“You didn’t hear anything from the girls, then. I imagine they were too busy fawning over you to complain about me.”
“I didn’t hear much about you from anyone. I heard a few words, and that was all.” The German cast a few strokes (of the oars) through the calm waters of the small bay before speaking again. “But those people must have some opinions on you if they agreed to leave you behind.”
Karolin decided that she didn’t want to talk about herself anymore. “I don’t recognize you from graduation. What’s your name?”
“Marius,” the cadet said, “You wouldn’t recognize me. I’m from West Germany. My family just moved here a few months ago. I’m in cadet training through Östertörn University.”
“Oh! I may run into you on campus!” Karolin said, “I’m starting there in some weeks!”
Karolin was pleasantly surprised. She and this Marius character seemed to have some good chemistry.
“I saw you reading a comic,” she said, “What were you reading?”
“A new issue of my favorite just came out,” Marius said eagerly, “It’s-”
Suddenly, Karolin saw a red light coming from the trees by the Yttervik shoreline. The left side of her face broke out in searing pain. Four sharp cracks rang out across the bay. Her hand flew to her face and came away with bright red blood.
“Contact!” Marius yelled. Another four-round volley hit their boat, peppering it with quarter-sized holes. “We’re sitting ducks here! Get into the water!”
With a decisiveness that surprised herself, Karolin jumped over the side of the boat and into the cold water of the bay. An orange ball of fire bloomed overhead. Wooden splinters drifted down past her. The shockwave knocked the wind out of her lungs and rattled her brain in her skull. She swam up to get a gulp of air as her vision blurred and darkened. She felt a hand grab her by the collar. Marius, the saint, held her head above water as her spinning mind gave in to unconsciousness.

Next Chapter
Welcome to the first part of Marius and Karolin's Bizarre Adventure, a Generation Zero fanfiction centered around the shenanigans my friend and I got up to in the game.

Shark Week
TW: Reader is female I apologize, all of my other writings are gender neutral. I modeled the villain after the weird fish man in What Lies Below.
MBAV Masterlist
Summary: Reader is on their period, Rory's acting weird and then an evil fish man appears.
Day 1: “You smell amazing today.” Rory says over my shoulder, I jump a bit. “Jesus Rory. You would think I’d know by now not to turn my back when I’m at my locker.” I joke, stacking my books into my arm and closing my locker. “You could never see ninja Rory coming.” He says, going into a “ninja” pose. I laugh a bit as we start walking. “I mean with your uh, “special abilities” I probably wouldn’t see you.”
“I wouldn’t need them to get you, just my usual sneaky self would.” I shake my head in amusement at his words, my brain goes over what Rory said before. “I smell amazing?” I question looking over at him, he nods quickly. “Mhmm. Like a delicious steak dinner.” He explains while licking his lips. “All I did was change my perfume, and it's a fruity scent. I’m not sure why I would smell like that to you.” Rory’s grin grows looking at my confusion then gets distracted and runs off down the hall.
Day 2: We were all sitting for lunch, Erica and Sarah sharing a bag of chips. Ethan gnawing on some carrots, Benny devouring his sandwich and Rory munching on crackers. I was finishing my granola bar, Benny on a rant about how his science teacher had to be a lizard person.
“Benny, the reason you failed is because you wrote only 2 paragraphs and then tried to use a spell to do your homework.” Ethan responds, shooting down Benny’s theory. “Still though, she has been acting weird. On another note, y/n can I please get your biology notes?” Benny pleads to me, I shake my head quickly. “No! I worked hard on my labs, you have to do them yourself.” I say, Benny hangs his head back sighing. “I’m in agony!” He cries, throwing his arms up. “Oh, please you will survive.” Sarah says, wiping her hands off. The conversation goes on until the end of lunch, Sarah and Erica leaving earlier with Ethan trailing behind them. I was picking up with Benny, Rory on a tangent about a zombie game he just bought.
“Honestly, the chainsaw is a cool weapon but has such terrible stats. You might as well just give up the dream and use the boring machete.” Benny nodded along with him, then I felt it come up. A high pitched sneeze coming out of my body. “Bless me.” I whisper out, wiping my nose a bit. “I never knew your voice could go that high.” Benny chuckles out. “Yeah, I normally try to hold them in.” I comment, putting my containers back into my bag. “Rory.” Benny says, looking over at the blond boy. No response, just eyes staring blankly down at the table. “Roryy.” Benny tries again, walking up to him. Poking Rory in the arm, his head snaps up.
“You okay buddy?” I ask, walking closer to him. His eyes go between me and Benny. “I’m good, I have to go!” He rushes out, grabbing his bag and sprinting away.
Day 3: We were both in english, finishing up the book that had been assigned for a report. The class was divided into pairs for ‘intellectual conversation’ about the book. I was with Rory, the teacher aware anyone else would complain if they were paired with him. Rory’s usual banter was non-existent therefore my headphones were on while I was finishing up reading. I could see Rory out of the corner of my eye, readjusting his seating position every minute or so. He’s been on the same page for over 5 minutes, I take out one of my earbuds.
“You good?” I whisper to him, he glances over and then nods. Clearly not mentally in this existence. “Are you sure? We can talk about the book or whatever, I’m ahead in the book so you’re not putting me behind.” I explain, trying to pull something out. “I’m okay.” His voice is soft and light. “I just can’t focus.” He adds at the end. “Is there anything I could do to help?” I ask, he simply shakes his head. I let out a quiet sigh before putting my earbud back in. We didn’t talk for the rest of class.
Day 4: I hadn’t seen Rory all day. Well that’s an overstatement, I saw him in english but he sat somewhere different. He hadn’t spoken a single word to me. I was standing with E and B, them talking about their latest monster finding. Apparently, a new neighbour seemed to be an alien fish thing. I was half in the conversation and half out, looking out for Rory’s head.
“Earth to y/n.” Benny says, I look back to the pair. “Sorry, I’m a bit distracted,” I reply, looking down at my shoes. “Well, we need to be prepared. Gill man needs to be stopped and you said you were gonna be bait. You need to make sure you know the plan.” Ethan says to me, I nod.
“I’m listening, you’ve repeated it like 6 times. I’m worried about Rory, has he seemed a little bit off to you?” I ask them, both shaking their heads. “Nope, normal Rory behaviour. Why?” Benny asks. “He keeps avoiding me, like I did something. Except I don’t know what I did so I don’t know how to fix it.” I explain, Ethan shrugs his shoulders. “You never know what he’s thinking.” E states, trying to make me feel better. Right as he finishes I see the familiar boy turn the corner. Rory looks up making eye contact with me. I smile and wave to him, he turns around and walks away. My hand drops, eyes looking down in sadness.
“Okay for Rory that was weird.” Ethan whispers to Benny. “He will come back around, he always does.” Benny reassures, placing his hand on my shoulder. I nod and turn my attention fully to the plan.
Day 5: I did listen to the plan. I did exactly as everything was supposed to go and yet here I was. Trying to find a hiding spot from the fish man. I tried to take a shortcut through the woods yet he was still on my metaphorical tail.
“It doesn’t matter where you run guppy, I’ll find you. I can smell you!” Gill, as we named him yells. The weird alien part of Gill has the sense of smell close to a vampire. It’s why I couldn’t seem to escape him. I turn down an alleyway, hoping to confuse him in the maze of back ways. I turned corner after corner, not paying attention to where I was going, just desperate to get away. I turn another corner, peering back behind to check. By the time I look forward it’s too late, I realize I’m at a dead end. Big garbage tub and a back door were the only things down here, no turns or exits. I hear footsteps now echoing near me. I walk up to the wall beside the huge garbage can and slide down. Bringing my knees up to my chest, now on the ground. Accepting this is where I get caught. The footsteps near, the echo slowly going away as he got closer. He comes into view, I see him begin to walk past the alleyway and then stop. Turning to face down, his eyes meeting mine. My heart dropping, knowing this was the end of the cat and mouse game.
“Look who I found, a little guppy all by herself.” He teases, as he starts stalking towards me. I feel tears well up in my eyes, hands clasping my arms tightly. I hear his voice mocking me as he approached. The distance closing to about 2 metres, I could see the details in his face. The difference between mine and his pupils, similar to a cat’s. I shut my eyes waiting for the impending grab.
“Don’t touch her.” A voice says in front of me. I crack my eyes open to see Rory standing over me. “I found her first.” Gill states, eyes widening at the thought of his prey being taken. “You think a little baby like you can take me out? I’ll tear you up and take her as my prize.” Fish man says, chest puffing up. Rory lets out a growl, then hiss at the man. He pushes Gill back, turning to me. Kneeling down to my level. “I got you, no need to be scared. You should close your eyes though.” Tears streaming down my face as I close my eyes once again. Then I hear fighting, huge thud sounds, like someone hitting a wall.
“Why don’t you leave before you get hurt?” “Why don’t you bite me?” Rory snides, I had never heard this tone from him before. “You can smell her can’t you? That intoxicating scent-” “Shut it!” Another thud happens then a huge rip sound comes through the air. I could hear someone gasping for air, then silence as footsteps approached me. I gasp, praying it was Rory's and not his. I feel a hand on my knee and then another one on my face wiping my tears.
“It’s okay, I told you I got it.” His voice soft and delicate, I grabbed his hand. “How did you find me?” My voice barely coming out. “B and E told me you ran down into the forest, I followed your scent from there.” He replies sheepishly. “Do I really smell that bad?” I joke, feeling slightly embarrassed Rory shakes his head quickly in disagreement. “No! It’s just… well the blood.” The realization hit me, this whole week I had been on my period.
“Normally I can ignore it but this time, it was uh too much.” Rory explains to me, I feel my cheeks flush along with more tears well up. “I thought I did something that upset you.” Rory’s eyes widen at my words, he pulls me into a hug “I’m sorry.” He apologizes, his grip tight on me. “We should get you home. “ He says, breaking away from me. “I don’t want to be alone, I’m scared.” “You can come over, we can play games and snack all night if you want!” I giggle while wiping my face, Rory gently helps me up onto my feet. “Come on, jump on my back.” He says while turning around. “What if I hurt you?” “I’ve lifted cars before, ninja Rory is stronger than he looks.”

Baji Being A Menace To Society (And Your Relationship) 2.0
Sequel to: Baji A.K.A. The Worst (Best) Matchmaker
Summary: Baji’s at it again, acting out-of-pocket and creating chaos for absolutely no reason, other than to see you suffer. In his own Baji-esque way, of course.
Pairing: Sano Manjiro | Mikey x Male Reader
Warning(s): Boku no Pico is mentioned, but there is absolutely nothing graphic; mentions of masturbation
Note(s): I am so sorry if it isn’t funny. Sadly, I am but an amateur writer, not a comedian. Still, I hope you all enjoy! ^^
"(Y/n), want some ice cream? My treat."
Usually, you'd be the first to jump at an offer for a sweet treat, especially when you don't have to pay. However, as of now, the word 'ice cream,' when said by Baji, instantly triggers your fight-or flight-response. Paired with the fact that he’s broke as hell, your suspicions only increase for the sudden indulgence.
Since you know you're no match for the long-haired menace, your body automatically prepares to flee, legs twitching to lurch into a sprint. Unfortunately for you, just before you can get the fuck out of there, your hand is being grabbed by Mikey, who leisurely begins to tug you along to claim your dessert.
“You like ice cream, right?” he turns to ask, eyes unbelievably soft when looking at you.
And because you’re weak for him, all you can do is nod stiffly, trading in your sanity for the pleased grin that spreads across his face, his confident strides thereafter likely a result of him successfully remembering another miscellaneous fact about you, as has been the case since you officially started dating him. From the most trivial of things, like which brand of pens and pencils you prefer, to the slightly more important stuff, like ice cream being one of your favorite desserts; he’s made the effort of remembering them all.
He really doesn’t need to do any of that, ‘cause you’ll love him either way, but the conscious decision to do so is what makes you love him even more.
Zoning back into reality, you shake your head to reorient yourself. It isn’t the time to be going over the reasons why you’re such a lovesick puppy.
No, there are other things to worry about, mainly Baji.
You squeeze Mikey’s hand as you’re led to the nearest ice cream parlor to try and calm yourself. It works for the most part, especially when you get a reassuring squeeze back.
‘Right,’ you tell yourself, ‘it’s going to be okay.’
After all, Baji wouldn’t do anything too drastic, right?
~~~
You were wrong. So, so wrong.
Despite nothing having transpired yet, every alarm in your head is going off, pounding at the door of reason to get you to wake up and realize that it’s Baji you’re talking about, the same person that sets cars on fire when hungry and punches the first unfortunate soul he passes by on the street when sleepy.
You really should’ve listened to your survival instincts and ran. Alas, it’s much too late to escape, leaving you to wallow in your anxiety, while you wait for misfortune to strike.
And strike it does.
“Please, don’t sit next to me. You make me nauseous.”
“That’s cruel. I bought you ice cream, and you treat me like this?”
Yeah, he may have bought it, but you refuse to eat it because of how intensely Baji is staring at you. Fucking weirdo.
"Oh, do you want some of mine instead, (Y/n)?" Baji accentuates his question with a sensual lick to his ice cream from the edge of the cone to the finessed peak, making you extremely uncomfortable as he stares you down with the full motion.
As slowly as he licks his frozen treat do you slowly raise your middle finger, eliciting chuckles from the other occupants of the table.
You think you won that mini battle, though?
Ha! Nope.
Baji mirrors the vulgar action, not once breaking eye contact as he dips the tip of his finger directly into his ice cream, pulls it out, and proceeds to lick that, too.
Disgusted, you promptly avert your attention elsewhere, praying that Baji won’t continue being, well, himself.
Your prayers fall on deaf ears.
"It's cold!" As soon as the exclamation leaves your mouth, your blood runs glacial, knowing that you've unintentionally played into Baji's trap. The appearance of a sly, almost feral, smirk when you whip your head around to glare confirms what you already know.
The curtain has risen, and you’re standing center stage in a performance you can’t break free from.
"Aw, can't let it go to waste,” Baji continues, reaching over to scoop the ice cream you’re 100% certain he purposely spilled on the front of your shirt, with his fingers.
Then, to your horror and everyone else’s shock, he asks, without an ounce of virtue to his name, "Want me to lick it off with my mouth?"
Chifuyu is seated on the other side of the table, hiding his face in his hands. “Baji-san...”
"It'll stain if it dries like that." Dear God, how you wish to un-see Baji batting his eyelashes at you.
“I don’t care!” At this point, you’ve resorted to clumsily scooting your chair as far away from him as possible, which isn’t actually as far as you’d like considering your surroundings. Hell, so long as you put some distance between yourself and the crazy bastard that wants to see you suffer, you don’t mind having to force yourself halfway onto Mikey’s lap. (The firm hand that keeps you steady by the waist proves that your presence isn’t unwanted either.)
"Geez, (Y/n), you're such a scatterbrain."
Seeing Baji sell the line with a slow tugging of his hair behind the ear has you torn between laughing and dying a little more. Truthfully, his acting is frighteningly impressive, and you would’ve applauded his performance, if not for the fact that the role he’s playing still haunts your dreams.
By this time, most of who accompanied you to the ice cream parlor have figured out what kind of drugs Baji is on this time, which also means that those fuckers have seen, or are at least aware of, the cursed trilogy of questionable porn that’s being reenacted before their eyes, with you as an unwilling co-star. Those that are puzzled as to why people are shoving their fists in their mouths to refrain from laughing are obviously God’s favorites.
“The fuck is going on? I wanna laugh at Baji’s dumbassery, too.”
“Pah-chin... I think it’s best you don’t know.”
Interestingly enough, the one you’re most concerned about hasn’t said anything yet, splitting his attention between observing the scene unfolding and eating his portion of a deluxe sundae.
Then, out of nowhere-
“I understand.”
You and Baji freeze where you are, each of you grasping the other’s collar, you to shove him away, and him to draw you closer.
“(Y/n),” Mikey says, your name rolling silkily off his tongue in a tone much too fond for his next words, “if you like roleplay, just tell me.”
...
“Huh?”
“I’m fine with pissing, remember? So, roleplay shouldn’t be a problem.”
Heat rises to your face at an alarming pace, and it continues to climb as Mikey takes your free hand in his, which serves not to comfort but to unintentionally remind you of the humiliating experience from a few months back. And just when you convinced him that you didn’t want anything to do with getting freaky with the body’s excreta, too.
“You’ve got it wrong! I don’t- arfghfgh?!”
Your prayer to help cool down your flushed cheeks must have been heard, but you’re pretty damn sure you didn’t ask for Baji to shove his ice cream in your mouth!
“Oh, yeah. (Y/n)’s a fuckin’ geek when it comes to roleplay,” the unhinged bastard speaks in your stead, indifferent to the nails clawing at his hand clamped over your mouth. “You should try it with him. We were doing a scene from his favorite anime.”
Mikey tilts his head, interest positively piqued. “Which one is that?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know, leader?”
Mikey raises an eyebrow.
Baji opens his mouth.
You lunge.
It’s a series of events that happens in the blink of an eye and ends with loud crashing as you tackle Baji to the ground.
“Listen up, Baji Keisuke. We took an oath that day, and if you dare utter a word of what went down, I’ll consider that a breach of the code of secrecy and take you down, making sure you drown in a pit of your own shame and despair.”
Surprised to have been pinned down so quickly, it takes a while for Baji’s brain to catch up, but when it does, he’s frustratingly unfazed at the threat.
“Oho~ How scary. Too bad for you, I have no shame.”
“Not even if I tell Mama Baji where your porn stash is?”
That has the great Baji tensing up.
“You wouldn’t dare use an underhanded tactic like that.”
Your lips turn into a wicked grin. “Are you sure? I have as much dirt on you as you have on me, and like you, I won’t hesitate to use it to my advantage.”
If your grin is wicked, Baji’s is downright evil, showing off his sharp, gritted canines and all.
“You got balls, (Y/n),” he snarls, “but mine are bigger.”
The boy beneath you opens his mouth, and faster than you can stop him, he just...does it.
“(Y/n) (L/n) watched Boku no Pico and liked it!”
Silence.
Silence is all that’s heard for a good, long minute following the booming roar of the revelation.
You dare not look up to gauge everyone’s reactions, instead keeping your icy glare fixated on Baji, who looks smug as shit for having caused the glorious eruption of heat to spread like wildfire across your entire body, from the tips of your ears down to where your skin disappears under the collar of your jacket.
This...
This is war.
Taking in a deep breath, you answer his uncalled for declaration with your own thunderous shout of, “Baji watched Boku no Pico and jacked off to it! Twice!”
Baji laughs. “Oh, pray tell, saintly (Y/n), how many times did you jack off to it?”
“None of your fucking business, asshole.”
“Pretty fucking sure it is, since we were in the same room.”
Someone chokes, while you choke Baji.
“We. Swore. To. Secrecy. You. Asshole,” you practically growl, with each of your words accompanied by a ruthless back-and-forth shaking of the other boy’s person.
“Let up on the choking, dude. I’m not into that. You, however-”
Unable to take the ceaseless slander to your name anymore, you reel your fist back, but, upon seeing Baji’s cheek turned to you, jaw jutted out, as if inviting you to take your best shot, you hesitate. You know you wouldn’t be able to pack enough of a punch to actually leave an impact on him, which is terribly upsetting.
On the bright side, there’s still one tactic you can use that’ll be just as effective, a technique courtesy of your health teacher, who happily taught it to the class to use in case of an emergency.
Technically, it’s meant to be used to assess a person’s level of consciousness, but you suppose it can be used to get back at inconsiderate idiots, too.
“Ow! Ow! What the fuc-! Ow!”
You keep a straight face as you continue to rub your knuckles against his sternum, fully intent on delivering the worst possible pain to the current bane of your existence. It brings a sort of sadistic satisfaction to hear the ever prideful Baji’s screams of pain, and while it doesn’t completely undo the damage done, it does help soothe your wounded self-esteem.
“You want me stop? Beg for it.”
“Pissing, roleplay, choking, and begging? Goddam- OW!”
Your reign of terror comes to its untimely end when you’re lifted up into the air by the armpits, and through the haze of your power trip, you realize that Baji’s saving grace is Draken, who proceeds to carry you out of the parlor with ease.
“People are staring,” he coolly explains when you protest to having unfinished business.
Pouting, you cross your arms over your chest. “It’s his fault.”
Once outside, Draken doesn’t immediately put you back on your feet, until Mikey strolls out of the parlor. Only when the gang leader has his arms outstretched to you are you promptly deposited on the ground and taken into his embrace.
“Are you done letting off some steam?” is the first thing he asks you. Even though you can’t see his expression, the way he holds you and the way he cradles the back of your head, handling you with the utmost care, is indication enough that there will be no reprimand for, essentially, assaulting your division commander. (You would argue that it was an act of self defense against verbal harassment, but whatever.)
There’s just an overwhelming amount of love. So, so, so much love for each other.
“Yeah, I am,” you eventually answer, followed by a content sigh.
“Good.”
Naturally, that’s the perfect time for the tinkling of the bells above the parlor door to pilfer your attention. Baji’s appearance causes your face to morph into a scowl.
You cling tighter to Mikey, peeking over his shoulder to flip the ravenet off and mouth, ‘Go to Hell.’
As always, Baji answers your attempt to appear opposing with an obnoxious smirk.
‘See you there.’
~~~
“Boku no Pico, huh?”
“Draken, don’t laugh! Baji forced me to watch it!”
“All 3 episodes?”
“Twice.”
“...”
“...”
“Favorite scene...?”
“As if I’d have one.”
"Actually-"
“Ahh! Shut up! Why are you here, stupid Baji?! You live in the other direction!”
~~~
“Hey, (Y/n). Want to try doing the same thing with me?”
You look up, perplexed. Mikey literally just walked into the room, and that was the first thing he said to you.
“Do wha-?”
Your breath catches in your throat when you turn your head, only for you to come centimeters from bumping noses with him. And because he can, he lovingly knocks your foreheads together, too.
“It’s okay. I promise it’ll definitely be fun.”
You should feel ashamed for recognizing the same sequence of lines from Boku no Pico so quickly, though any coherent words are overtaken by an incomprehensible, high-pitched screech, a feat achieved solely by a teenage boy going through puberty.
A combination of shock and amusement crosses over Mikey’s features then. He’s never heard you make that sound before.
It’s cute. Strains the ears quite a bit, but cute.
While Draken lurks beside him, questioning Mikey’s standards of what constitutes as ‘cute,’ you’re sprinting across the room, red-faced, to Baji, who’s already grinning from ear-to-ear.
“Stop tainting my boyfriend, you piece of shit! Give him back his innocence!”
(Unbeknownst to you, whilst immersed in your fit of hysterics, your use of the word ‘boyfriend’ has a certain blond beaming.
“Did you hear that, Ken-chin? He called me his boyfriend.”
“Wow, congrats.”
Mikey either doesn’t give a shit or is simply too smitten to acknowledge Draken’s apathetic response.)
Baji blinks, unable to believe what you’re trying to insinuate. “Innocent? That little gremlin motherfucker?”
Both of you look in Mikey’s direction. When he sees you staring, he breaks out in a smile and throws a wave.
Your heart involuntarily skips a beat at the sight, and, okay, you’re convinced. Mikey deserves better than knowing of that cursed series’ existence.
Clearly, you’re down bad for Toman’s leader, and as such, Baji figures he can use that to quench his boredom for the day.
“Ooh, if only you knew what he gets off to.”
The tone in his voice instantly rouses suspicion. You narrow your eyes at him. “I don’t care what kind of porn he gets off to.”
“Porn? Nah, ya silly goose-”
“Don’t call me that.”
Baji ignores your comment as he moves to sling one arm around your shoulders, the other raising up to mimic an obscene tugging motion that no teenage boy is a stranger to.
“He jerks it to yo-”
BAM!
One second, Baji is lazily hanging off of your person, the next, he’s sprawled out on the floor, face down, and groaning in pain. You expect nothing less after witnessing him receive a rather impressive flying kick to the chest from Mikey.
Before you can assess the full damage, your view gets obscured by a pair of keys.
“Wanna take my bike out for a spin?”
Yes, you know Mikey is trying to divert your attention from whatever Baji was going to say, and, yes, you probably should check on the figure that has yet to get up.
But do you really care?
You take one glance at Baji’s concerningly unmoving body and quickly come to a conclusion.
You do not.
That being said, you quite literally drag Mikey and, by extension, Draken out of there, chanting an excited, “Let’s go!” on your way, abandoning Baji to wither on the ground.
Baji?
Baji feels betrayed.
~~~
"Chifuyu?”
“Hm?”
“Y’know, I was joking.” Baji flips onto his back with a grunt. “Man, who knew Mikey was all grown up?”
The vice captain of the first division hums, seemingly uninterested in his commander’s musings.
It goes quiet for a few minutes, the sole instigator of noise being Chifuyu flipping the pages of his manga.
Unpredictable is Baji, and the same goes for his train of thought.
“I should punch Mikey for kicking me.”
“No, you’d get beat up.”
“...”
“I should punch (Y/n) for Mikey kicking me.”
Truly, unpredictable and senseless.
“You’d still get beat up.”
Baji opens his mouth to argue.
“By Mikey.”
He promptly closes it.
“Fuck it. I’ll keep spicing up their relationship as payback.”
Sighing, Chifuyu closes his book to crouch down next to him. “Baji-san, with all due respect, you’re an asshole.”
Baji Keisuke has experienced betrayal twice today.
And he deserved it both times.

Don’t You (Hotch x Fem!Reader) -- part two of Bye Bye, Baby
I love how this mini-series was totally impromptu but happened so fast. Gotta love my brain!
Loosely based on “Don’t You” by Taylor Swift! xx.
Summary: Aaron wants to talk. Do you?
Warnings: ANGST
Word Count: 2k this time oop
Bye Bye, Baby (Part One) || That’s When (Part Three) || Hotch Masterlist
Tumblr media
Hey/I knew I’d run into you somewhere/It’s been a while
The text message from Aaron has sat glaring at you on your phone screen for the past hour.
Hotch (BAU) Sorry for hitting you with my cart earlier.
You don’t know what to make of it. It’s obviously an attempt to start up a conversation after four years, but why? Why, after all this time, does he think this is okay?
It’s 1 a.m. when you call Dannie.
“I would tell you to go to sleep, but I just got in bed, so I can’t talk.”
You chuckle quietly. “Better than me. I’m still on the couch.”
Dannie exhales. “Did Jules stay up late again?”
“No, no, she… She passed out around nine.”
Dannie sighs. “What’s wrong with you?”
“I saw Aaron today,” you blurt, quietly, not wanting to risk Juliet hearing even a whisper of this.
“Aaron?” Dannie asks. “Like...Juliet’s dad, Aaron? That one?”
“Yep,” you mutter, rubbing your forehead. “The one and only.”
“Where?”
“The grocery store,” you say. “Our carts bumped into each other. I wasn’t watching where I was going, so it was definitely my fault, but he texted me a while ago apologizing for it.”
“Woah, he texted you?”
“Unfortunately,” you murmur, hating that you feel tears pricking at your eyes. “I don’t know what to do.”
“Have you texted him back?”
“I don’t know if I want to.”
“I understand,” Dannie sighs. “Maybe just say it’s okay? Leave it short.”
“Yeah,” you nod, sniffling, wiping a tear away. “God, I’ve been fine all evening and it just...hit me when I saw his text.”
“You had to keep it together for Jules,” Dannie reminds you. “What did she say about him?”
“Oh, nothing,” you say. “She really wanted cookies, so she was focused on getting vegetables for dinner so she could have them.”
Dannie laughs. “That sounds like her. Did she eat all her vegetables?”
“Even the broccoli,” you grin. “So she got an extra cookie.”
The two of you laugh lightly, letting the silence settle.
“What do I do if he wants to get to know her?” You break the silence with the one question that’s been on your mind all night. “I mean, he’s a profiler. There’s no way he doesn’t know she’s his.”
“Okay, first of all, she’s yours,” Dannie says firmly. “Second, it’s all up to you. And her. If she wants to get to know him, then ultimately it’s up to you to decide if that’s a good idea and where would be safest for it to happen, if you want it to.”
“Thank you.”
“Don’t stress about it tonight,” she says quietly. “Text him back in the morning.”
“Okay.”
“Want to surprise Jules with brunch tomorrow?”
You smile almost immediately. “Of course.”
+++
You wake from a restless sleep to Juliet climbing into bed with you.
“Good morning, munchkin,” you whisper, kissing her forehead. She’s still sleepy and will probably sleep for another hour in your arms, but you wouldn’t trade it for the world.
As expected, Juliet falls fast asleep with her head on your chest. While she’s snoring softly, you grab your phone and text Dannie about brunch. And that’s when you’re reminded of Aaron’s text.
Quickly, before you can think twice, you reply. It’s okay.
And you move on to text Dannie, letting her know you’re awake and so is Juliet. After making plans to meet for brunch in an hour and a half, you lightly shake Juliet awake.
“Psst, munchkin,” you murmur. “Wanna have brunch with Dannie?”
Juliet pops her head up almost instantly. “Really?”
“Really really,” you nod.
She grins wide and your chest aches for a moment. She’s always had his smile, but you never realized how much it’s his smile until today.
Juliet scrambles off your bed to get dressed, and you take a deep breath before getting up, too.
+++
The entire day passes without a reply from Aaron. You don’t know what to make of it, but you do your best to ignore it.
Thoughts of him keep you awake almost all night, so by the next morning, you’re dying to get your coffee before you walk into work.
You drop Juliet off at daycare, then park your car at work, with somehow enough time to spare to walk to your favorite coffee shop before clocking in.
You spot Aaron as soon as you walk in.
“You better not be following me around,” you mutter as you stand in line behind him.
He spins around, his face softening when he recognizes you. “Hi. I’m not trying to, I promise.”
You nod slowly.
Don’t you/Don’t you smile at me and ask me how I’ve been
“How are you?” He asks hesitantly, hands stuffed in his pockets.
“Good,” you reply. “You?”
“Good,” he pauses. “Busy.”
“Me too.”
The awkward small talk is ended by the line moving forward, putting Aaron at the front. He orders his usual, and steps aside. You order your usual, with a pastry, too, as a sort of condolences gift to yourself for the bullshit you’re enduring.
When you step to the side to wait, Aaron tries again.
“Sorry again for hitting you in the store with my cart,” he says. “I wasn’t paying attention.”
“It’s okay,” you say, keeping your eyes away from his. “In your defense, I wasn’t paying attention either.”
He chuckles quietly and the sound sends a dagger right to your heart.
When his coffee is ready, he grabs it, and you internally beg him to leave without another word. But he doesn’t.
Sometimes I really wish I could hate you/I’ve tried, but that’s just something I can’t do
“This is probably too forward of me, but—”
Your coffee is up.
You step forward to grab it, and damn you, you look at him to ask him to continue.
“Can we talk?” Aaron finishes.
“Right now?” You question, following him to the door. He holds it open for you and you hate that you almost smile. “I have to get to work.”
“Me too,” he says, stopping on the sidewalk with you. “We could get dinner tonight.”
“I’ll think about it.”
“Okay,” he nods. “No pressure. Just text me if you want to.”
“Okay,” you exhale shakily. “See you.”
You turn on your heel and nearly sprint down the sidewalk, chest heaving and tears welling in your eyes.
+++
“What do you want to do?” Dannie asks.
You met her for lunch to discuss your encounter with Aaron this morning, and so far you still don’t know what the hell you’re going to do.
“I want to tell him to leave me alone and never come near me again,” you blurt, but then you sigh. “I don’t mean that.”
Dannie smiles sadly. “I know.”
You don’t/You don’t know how much I feel I still love you
“I think I want to talk to him, but...I don’t know, I’m scared. I don’t think I can do a dinner. I’m sick to my stomach just thinking about this and I mean...I hate that I still love him. After all this I can’t even hate him.”
“It’s hard to hate someone you love.”
“Yeah,” you sigh. “Wanna help me text him?”
“Of course.”
After some trial and error, you and Dannie settle on this message.
Hey. I’d like to talk, but not dinner. What about a walk instead?
Aaron replies quickly.
Hotch (BAU) That’s perfect. Where is best?
+++
The park you chose is, regrettably, the one where you and Aaron had your first date.
In your defense, it’s closest and safest. And quiet.
Aaron doesn’t seem to mind the location, though, when he walks toward you. You’re sitting on a park bench, one that must be new because you don’t remember it.
As he gets closer, you see he has two cups of coffee in hand.
“I got your usual,” he says softly. “If you want.”
“Thank you,” you murmur, taking it from him, careful not to let your fingers touch.
Hesitantly, he sits next to you.
The two of you sit in silence for a while. You can’t bring yourself to say anything, and apparently, neither can he.
After too long, though, you break the silence. “Ready to walk?”
“Sure,” he replies, standing with you.
You venture down the trail, grateful that you changed into your sneakers before coming. It takes another few moments before the silence is broken -- by Aaron this time.
“Is she mine?”
You sigh heavily. You should’ve known he’d ask that first.
“Technically, Juliet is mine,” you reply. “But you are the father, if that’s what you’re asking.” You pause. “You’re the only one I was with, so there’s no doubt.”
“I wasn’t worried about that,” he says quietly. You can tell he’s looking at you, but you don’t look at him. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I tried,” you admit. “I called three times. I got your voicemail.”
Once: When you decided officially to keep the baby. You were three months pregnant. You had almost thought he picked up when the line clicked, and then you heard his voicemail. You hung up and took a bath instead, phone forgotten in the living room.
Twice: Dannie was beside you. You were seven months then. You had caved and asked if it was a boy or girl. After hearing it was a girl, a part of you desperately wanted to tell Aaron. You remembered him saying he always wanted a baby girl. Your heart still ached from when he broke it, but you wanted to tell him. You got his voicemail.
The third time: You had just given birth. You named her Juliet. You wanted to tell Aaron. You wanted to know if he should be on the birth certificate. You wanted to tell him you had a baby girl. When he didn’t answer, the nurse gave you a sad smile, and left the line blank. Dannie held Juliet for a while so you could cry.
“You never left a message,” he replies, sounding offended.
“Did you really want me to break the news in a voicemail?”
“No,” he shakes his head. “But you could’ve said it was something important. I would’ve returned your call.”
“I called three times,” you remind him. “You’re a fucking profiler, Aaron. You think three calls meant it was unimportant?” You pause, grounding yourself. “I figured you were out on a case. I don’t blame you for that. I understand, I’ve been there. But after calling three times and not getting a single reply, I figured it was useless. I didn’t have the time or energy to worry about it anymore. I had a newborn to take care of.”
He’s silent for a while.
“How is she?”
“She’s fine. She’s with her Godmother. Probably watching Frozen.”
“That’s good.”
You can’t do this anymore. “If that’s all you wanted to ask, then I need to get going. No offense, but I really don’t have the time for small talk.”
“I understand, but…” He stops walking, staring down at his feet before locking eyes with you. “Would you— Would you be willing to give me a second chance?”
Don’t you/Don’t you say that you miss me if you don’t want me again
“Why are you doing this?” You ask, angry tears pricking your eyes. “Why?”
“I’d like to be a part of Juliet’s life. And yours. If you’ll let me.”
“I’ll ask her,” you reply. “But you can be a part of her life without being a part of mine.”
“You know that’s not true,” he says. “You chose this park for a reason today.”
“No, I chose it because it’s close,” you hiss. “Don’t you dare profile me. Don’t you dare.”
“I’m sorry,” he says, and for a second you think he might have tears in his eyes, too. “I’m sorry, you’re right, that was uncalled for.”
“Thank you,” you murmur. “I really do need to go.”
“Can I at least walk you to your car?”
After a moment of thought, you nod. “Sure.”
My heart knows what the truth is/I swore I wouldn’t do this

oooh i have an idea, how would dear reader reacts to the chain's secrets? they could be canon like wolfie being twi, or something you headcanon!
Masterlist
I procrastinated on this one admittedly because I had no idea where to take it but after writing out a list and appointing a secret to each boy. I have it done.
Some things are definitely headcanons.
Part one will include Hyrule, Sky, Warrior, Four and Wild.
Content under the cut!
Hyrule
The battle wasn’t necessarily hard to deal with- the monsters weren’t difficult to deal with and there weren’t a lot of them to begin with.
You slashed, dashed and kicked every enemy away from you and watched as they fell to your blade. Every new step revealed a new purple cloud as you danced around the battle field.
You saw Wild and Twilight fighting back to back with practiced ease and handling it as well as you were. Warrior and Sky was side by side closer to Time and Legend than the rest of the group was and Four and Wind were up in the trees striking the enemy down at a distance and no doubt scheming something while the going was easy.
The only one you had no idea where he was, was Hyrule.
And that didn’t take a lot to dive into your brain and wriggle uncomfortably until your own insecure thoughts pushed you to go look for him.
Between the monsters and the land mines of purple smoke, it was a little difficult to find him.
But when you do- he does something you don’t fully understand at first.
You manage to run into him in a clearing, but he doesn’t notice you at first. Instead, you see him take his sword and run it through his palm. His blood coats the length of his blade, and it drips down his hand onto the grass below.
He watches the monsters in front of him and dances for a minute around them before he takes a breath and kills them effortlessly.
You frown and step toward him. “Why did you do that?”
Hyrule jumps higher than should be physically possible and doesn’t catch himself on the way down. He falls flat on his butt and looks up at you with wide and startled eyes.
“Are you ok?” You kneels next to him and go to take his injured hand. “What on earth were you trying to do?
Hyrule jerks his hand back like you’ve burned him and you see the magic flow through the air around his wound- closing it like it never happened.
“Link?” You frown again and slowly place your hand in your lap. You’re confused and a little afraid for him. You know that blood magic is taboo for a reason and is typically avoided more often than not because of its’s dark nature- but you never thought Hyrule of all people would dabble in it.
“I’m fine.”
“Link.” You stress a little more. “What were you trying to do? I didn’t think you were capable of blood magic... At least you don’t usually use those kind of spells. Is that why you fight on your own for a while each time?”
“I’m not using blood magic.” Hyrule frowns and stands abruptly.
“Then why-?”
“It’s not important.”
“Hyrule, you’re hurting yourself. I’d say that that’s pretty important.”
“It’s not a big deal.”
“Don’t make me get Time.” You threaten. “I’ll get Legend too. I bet they’ll get some answers out of you.”
“You won’t just drop it, will you?” He sneers
“Nope.” You stand and cross your arms. “What were you trying to do?”
“I was just checking something.”
You raise an eyebrow. “Like if a curse would work or something?”
Hyrule tenses and he crosses his arms- instantly looking away from you.
“WERE YOU ACTUALLY TRYING TO CAST A CURSE?!” You screech.
“THE CURSE WAS CAST ON ME!” He yells back.
You both still for a moment and wait for the forest to show any signs that others might have heard you.
The sounds of distant fighting continues and after a minute of waiting some more, no one shows up to check on either of you, so you’re safe.
You turn back to your companion and furrows your eyebrows. You lower your voice just above a whisper just in case someone might be on the way but now you need answers. “What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
He scowls- a face you’re not used to seeing on him and throws his arms down his sides in anger. “Back home, Ganon cast a curse on me. The monsters need my blood in order to resurrect him and I can’t risk letting any monsters from my time getting to me. I need to check if the other monsters will follow suit.”
You blink, not expecting that answer but your anger flares up regardless. “So you go out on your own to check this curse because your blood is needed to resurrect hatred incarnate? What if you’re overpowered? What if they do react to it? How are we supposed to help you if you’re alone?”
“It’s my problem to deal with. I don’t need-”
“Shut up.” You scowl and grab him by the shoulders. You shake him roughly for as long as you speak. “We are your friends! We care about you! We don’t want to see you hurt! We’re going to help you! Whether you want it or not- we’re not to let you deal with this alone. Not while we’re here.”
“Stop shaking me.”
You let him go.
“I won’t tell the others because I know you wouldn’t like that.” You say. “But this stops today. You hear me? None of us are just going to let these freaks near you and this is not necessary while you have a whole team of heroes just as pissed about the situation as you are. You hear me?”
“Loud and clear.”
“How clear?”
“Crystal.”
“Good.”
Sky
Sky wakes up one day with a far away look in his eye which immediately puts you on edge.
Not only that but to make it worse, he doesn’t stop looking at you.
He looks scared.
Every five minutes you swear you catch him looking in your direction only to look away in haste when you look back at him.
No one is saying anything and it doesn’t help your paranoia.
With some people walking ahead you, you step back and take a spot next to Sky. You notice that he’s tense and walking robotically, and trying to match your pace. “Dude, what’s up? You’re freaking me out.”
Sky trips over himself and finally looks you in the eye. “What do you mean?”
“You woke up like you saw a ghost. You’ve been looking over to me every five minutes and even now you look like you want to sprint away from me. Did I do something?”
“I.. Ummm...” Sky stutters for a minute before swallowing whatever lump was in his throat. “I just had a dream... is all.... I’ll get over it.”
“I’m assuming it had something to do with me then.”
“No, not exactly.” Sky’s quick to speak even if you can see the beginning’s of sweat collect on his brow. “It’s not a big deal.”
“Want to talk about it?” You tilt your head. “It looks like it really shook you up.”
“Oh, um, I-”
“Maybe you died and Sky freaked out.” Legend pushes you forward and away from Sky. “He doesn’t have to talk about it if he doesn’t want to.”
“Ok, my god, Legend slow down! Not everyone is as emotionally constipated as you! Talking about things is healthy and important!” You shout over your shoulder, trying to dig your heels into the dirt with little to no luck.
Legend seems a bit stronger right now that he usually is, you bet it’s his power bracelet.
If Sky actually looks a bit paler at Legend’s claim than neither of you notice.
The day passes a little calmer after that, Sky seeming to have calmed down enough to not be so weird and it something you’re quick to forget about.
By the time the afternoon hits, a bunch of dark and foreboding storm clouds roll in.
Somehow, Sky manages to find it in himself to walk next to you again and does his best to stay close.
You don’t mind it and even jokingly pull his sail cloth over your head when it begins to rain on your group. It’s not particularly strong and there’s not a lot of options to rest and take cover, so you bare with it. Sky lets you keep the sail cloth over your head surprisingly.
But then there’s thunder and you see lightning in the distance and bite your lip. “Maybe we should hunker down or something?”
The rain goes from gentle drops to a down pour within seconds and the group runs a bit to gain as much cover as you can in the nearby tree line.
Sky pushes himself in front of you and shoves you behind him with enough force that you’re fully knocked over. In one fluid motion he lifts the Master Sword skyward and charges the blade, tossing it away from the group in a glowing blue arc. It cuts through the grass and even splits the first tree it strikes in half before dissipated into the air.
You would have been struck by lightning if he didn’t do that.
“Sky?” You get up and try to wipe as much mud off of your pants as you can. “Are you ok? How did you know that would happen?”
Sky gulps and takes a deep breath as he looks at you with wide eyes and understanding. “I saw it in a dream.”
“Oh...” You gasp and reach out to him shakily, putting your hand on his shoulder. “You have dreams then?”
“Yes.” Sky looks at his sword and hesitantly puts it away. “Sometimes.”
“Ok then...” You nod and look around the group. They’re all in varying stages of shock, surprise and concern.
Everyone is looking at Sky.
“We need to get out of the storm.” You say in lieu of changing the topic. ” Who knows if there’s more lightning on the way and there’s a lot of metal within the group.“
“Right.” Time nods and does a not so subtle double take in his attempt to leave it be. “Let’s go.”
You nod back and nod once more to Sky and wrap your arm around his shoulder. you lead him forward and lean into his space to whisper into his ear. “Thanks.”
“I’m just glad I made in time.”
“We’ll talk later ok?” You smile in hopes of alleviating some of the tension. “I have some questions if you’re willing to indulge me.”
“I suppose it’s only fair.”
Warrior
“He’s a cute kid.” Warrior mentions randomly one day.
You startle and jump, nearly dropping the image. You scramble to catch it and successfully do so after playing hot potato with yourself.
“Warrior, a little warning please.” You sigh and attempt to clean your finger print smudges on the glass. “But yeah, my little brother is cute. I hope he stays that way.”
“I don’t think you have much to worry about.” Warrior shrugs. “He grows up to be a fine and upstanding young man. Good looks run in the family. ”
You scoff and roll your eyes. “Thank you, I’m sure they do.”
Warrior comes to stand next to you and gently turns the glass over to see the image better.
“Warrior?”
“Hm?”
“Am I doing the right thing?” You sigh.
“What do you mean? I’d say you are. Sacrificing yourself for the good of a better tomorrow- for your family- for your loved ones- but that’s not what you’re talking about are you?” Warrior lets you take the image back.
“But he’s so young... and I’m supposed to take care of him.” You gulp. “I just want him to be safe and sound and healthy but I can’t really do that from- from... I’m here instead.“
“Well... no said it was going to be easy.” Warrior offers lamely.
“What if he grows up to hate me?” You clench the glass tighter at the thought. “I just abandoned him, didn’t I? Oh my god-”
“Hey. He loves you.” Warrior takes your shoulders in his hands and shakes you somewhat. “He admires you greatly. You’re his hero. He looks up to you even now. He’ll understand when the time comes.”
“Even now?” You sniff. “What does that mean?”
“Years have passed and he hasn’t stopped looking up to you and how you did everything you could for him, for Zelda and he’s trying to make you proud-”
“Warrior he’s five, how do you know this?”
His mouth shuts with a click of his teeth.
“Warrior.”
“Um... I... He...”
“Link.” You pocket the glass and face him head on. “When did you meet my brother?”
He stares at you for a moment and deflates. “During... during the war of my era.”
“...What?”
Warrior hisses and brings his hand to scratch the back of his neck. “He showed up around the same time that Wind did but he talked about you.... and I guess you talk to him about me because he wasn’t really surprised at what was happening.”
“How old was he?” You bite your lip, already dreading the news.
“Older than me actually.” He offers with a tight smile. “I never asked him but if I had to guess I would have put him in his mid twenties. The oldest Link to start his adventure compared to the rest of us...”
“But he still...” You deflate as well and hug your arms around yourself. “He still has to go doesn’t he? I can’t save him from it. Even now, I... I can’t- I fail him in the end then.”
“He doesn’t see it that way at all.” Warrior catches you before you fall to your knees in despair. “He admires everything you’ve done for him, everything you’re currently doing. You kept him from danger for as long as you could- until he was old enough to take on his destiny. That’s more than any of us could say.”
“I don’t want him to go through any of it though.” You sob and lean into Warrior for support. “That’s my baby brother Warrior- how am I supposed to be ok with this?”
“I don’t think there is a way.” He admits. “Nor do I think you should be.”
“I can’t keep him from it.”
“But you can and have been postponing it.” Warrior rubs circles into your shoulder as you cry. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you even more.”
“I miss him.”
“You’ll see him again.” Warrior grips you tightly. “He also did very well all things considered. He became an older brother to me and to Sprite and Wind... I don’t think Wind has figured it out yet that your brother and Lucky are the same Link though.”
You sniffle and calm down slightly. “Was he awesome?”
A laugh is startled out of him and he chokes on the snort and cough that tries to leave him at the same time. “I’d say he was better than me... And he claims to have never held a sword until then.”
“Good.” You nod. “He’s the best brother in the whole world.”
“Yeah, he was.”
Four
You’re walking on a random trail as the day dies down and you’re partner is Four for the hour.
The sun rests behind you comfortably and you talk about the different weapons from each others Hyrule. You’re no smith- but you do think it’s an interesting process and try to take notes where you can.
As you trade your notes and laugh at the more ridiculous stories from one another, you look down and notice something weird with Four’s shadow.
It almost looked like it was laughing along too... in the opposite direction that Four was looking in. But you blink and it’s as if it never there.
Maybe you’re tired.
You have been walking all day and perhaps it was a trick of the light.
You don’t think on it too much and go back to talking with your friend.
Hours later-you’d think that it would be the end of it but it isn’t.
In fact, you can’t sleep. And the way it moved was different than it should have been and the more you look into the memory there more obscurities than there should be. Not to mention that Four gets weird around shadows or whenever they are mentioned.
You stare up at the star filled sky as you think about the incident.
“I’m telling you I think they saw me.” A new voice says.
You’re thrust into the moment and attune your hearing to the direction it came from.
“I think you’re thinking too much into it. How could they have seen you?” It’s Four.
You close your eyes and roll over in the same direction, pretending to still be asleep.
The voices take a minute to pick up again when you do that.
They were watching you.
“They stared at me for a solid minute- how did you miss that?” New voices hisses.
“They were laughing-”
“You were laughing, you love sick fool. They looked at me. They saw me. I’m going to blow the secret and you’re not even listening to my warning.”
Your eyes snap open and you push yourself up as quickly as you can.
You instantly spot Four sitting by the fire, but you’re not surprised by that. What really takes your attention is the new person next to him- who looks uncannily like your friend.
But with purple hair...
And red eyes...
And darker skin...
“Four what the hell?” You blurt.
Four responds quickly and as intelligently as he can manage.  “Uhhhh...”
The person next to him curses and runs a hand through his hair. “I told you. I told you. I told you.”
You lock eyes with the new guy and introduce yourself.
He huffs and crosses his arms, his face darkening slightly- or again- maybe it was a trick of the light. “I’m Four’s shadow.”
“His... shadow...?”
“Yes. That’s what I said.”
You nod, wide eyed before turning to Four with a million questions in your eyes. He can see it and holds his hand up to his mouth, pressing his knuckles harshly against his teeth as he waits for them to start flowing out of your mouth.
“Love sick fool?”
“Shadow you snitch!” Four screeches and takes a swing at him.
His cry is loud enough rouse some of the others but only really wakes up two of them. You stare tensely as Time and Legend sit up fast enough to nearly throw themselves into the fire as they turn to Four.
“Sorry.” You whisper yell to save his honor.
Shadow is nowhere to be found.
Time and Legend turn to you as the only other one awake and each raise an eyebrow in tandem.
“Ni-nightmare. I yelled. I’m sorry.” You try to act like you just woke up as well and try to hunker down into your blankets.
Time sighs and wipes his eyes. “You ok?”
“I will be.” You try to smile but you’re too nervous and it comes out more forced than it should- but perhaps that helps you sell your little fib.
Legend for his part glares at you before he sits down with a solid thump and throws himself dramatically back into his bedroll.
No words are exchanged between you two.
“Everything alright Four?” Time yawns as he also begins to lie down again.
“Yeah. All good here.” Four laugh nervously and waves him away.
Time nods, no longer paying attention and slowly... nearly half an hour later, you see that the two of them have fallen asleep again. Thankfully neither of them seem to realize that it didn’t sound like your voice at all.
Shadow appears again from somewhere and takes his spot next to Four. “Nice going.”
“Shut up.”
“Four, I have questions.” You sit up and make your way over to the two of them.
Shadow raises an eyebrow. “What’s there to explain?”
“Everything?”
“Ok. Ok. Both of you, don’t start. You caught us fair and square. Sit down.” Four sighs and gestures to the other spot next to him. “It’ll take a while.”
“Done.” You grin and nearly run over a sleeping Sky in the process. “Tell me everything.”
Wild
“Has anyone seen Mr. Champion?” You glance up after doing a supply check through your bag. You’re running a little low on rations and know the resident cook usually has some to spare.
But you haven’t seen him in a while.
“Didn’t he go to get fire wood?” Wind tilts his head.
“Wasn’t that at least an hour ago?” You respond, furrowing your eyebrows as you think about it more. Where did Wild go?
“He hasn’t come back yet?” Warrior sits up straighter. Now the rest of the group is a little more aware of their missing member and each start subconsciously checking the tree line as if he were about to come back that very second.
“I can go look for him.” You offer, standing up. “Maybe he got distracted. We are in a new area.”
“Oh great, he could be miles away and we’d never know.” Legend groans and throws his head back. “Just what we needed.”
“Have a little faith Vet.” You snort. With a quick jump and skip over the supplies, you begin to leave the camp behind. “Try calling him Wind, I’ll see if I can go find our missing chef before dinner.”
“Please do.” Time nods. “We’ll start a full search party if you’re not back within the next hour though. It’s getting too dark.”
“Noted.”
“I could find him faster.” You hear Twilight say but you’re already too far away to back down now.
Truthfully, you have no idea where to start- but you imagine that to find Wild- one must think like Wild.
You pick a direction and stick with it.
At some point maybe fifteen minutes in you reach a small creek and begin to follow to stream upwards.
It’s really more like you’re taking a hike than searching for your friend and you begin to feel a little stupid even if realistically there’s no other way for this to be done.
That is- until you see him anyway.
He’s seems to be frozen in place, staring off into the distance with his hands still held mid air, gripping the canteen he appears to have been filling up.
It confuses you and you stand there staring at him to move- to blink- to do something. But he doesn’t. “Wild?”
No response.
“Champion?” You call a little louder and begin to tip toe a little closer to him. You’re afraid that even the slightest snapping of a twig would break whatever spell he’s under and you don’t fancy a violent reaction out the man who can easily blow the whole area up with little to nothing.
But still no response.
“Link!” You hiss and eventually reach his side. He hasn’t once turned in your direction or even acknowledged your presence and you begin to doubt that he’s even conscious.
His eyes are open and he’s knelt beside the creek but maybe he got hit with some magic or something- you don’t know.
You gulp and place a hand on his shoulder. You shake him lightly but when that also proves to not do anything you begin to shake him more and more until you nearly throw him over-but he does not react at all.
“Oh boy... What on earth happened to you?” You bite you lip and begin to look around. He’s too heavy for you to carry on your own and also too far away to yell for help or assistance.
You should have dragged Twilight with you.
Suddenly he takes a deep breath and blinks rapidly, shaking himself back into the present.
You freeze and tense up considerably as you watch him come back to himself.
Wild stretches and looks up at the sky before standing up. “Twilight’s not going to like this.”
“No. I don’t think so.” You reply.
He freezes as well and looks at you by only shifting his eyes. “How long were you here for?”
“A while...” You admit. “Maybe fifteen minutes. You were gone for over an hour. I got worried.”
“Oh. That’s not so bad then.”
“You ok?” You gulp and slowly drop your shoulders from your ears and unclench your fists.
“Yup. Peachy.”
You nod and continue to lower your guard- not trusting this one bit. “May I ask what that was?”
“Just a memory.” He shrugs and tries to walk past you.
“A memory?” You frown and turn on your heel to follow him. “A memory? I shook you head enough to nearly throw you into the water and you claim it was because of a flashback? I’ve heard of disassociation before but I think this is more like astral projection through dimensions. You were completely gone!”
“It happens from time to time. Nothing to worry about.”
“What if something came up behind you and killed you?” You argue. “I’d say that’s something to worry about. Does this happen often?”
“Everyone once in a while. Maybe once every other month. It depends really. It doesn’t happen as often as it did in the beginning though.” Wild admits and gestures for you to follow him.
You do- but you keep asking him questions.
“So this is normal?”
“For me? Yes.”
“For you?”
“I...” Wild hisses slightly as another thought comes to his mind. “I never told you did I?
“I don’t know what you’re talking about but I’m going to assume that no, you didn’t.”
“I get memories from my old life from time to time when something triggers them. I used to have amnesia but I’ve got most of the my memories back at this point... By now it’s just filling in little blanks.” Wild shrugs. “Nothing to worry about.”
“Oh...” Understanding calms you somewhat. At least it’s not a magic spell or anything. “How did you get amnesia? Do you remember that?”
Wild stops in his tracks and looks at the ground momentarily before looking up again and walking forward. “I died.”
“I’m sorry what?”
“I died.”
“Huh?”
“I. Died.”
“WILD!” You tense up again and follow him without hesitation. “What do you mean you died? Did you heart just stop or were you like blow up or something- Oh my god! I’m so sorry! I’m being super insensitive right now, aren’t I? But I don’t understand! I don’t- Wild- Link- you can’t just drop a bomb like that. Are you like a ghost or something? No. Wait. You can bleed and I’ve seen you crash into more walls and rocks than I care to admit.”
“This isn’t exactly the reaction I was expecting.” Wild frowns and cuts you off.
“ArE YOu oK?!”
“I’m here aren’t I?”
“But that’s not what I mean- How can that even make sense-”
“Where did you think I got my scars from?” Wild cuts you off once more with a barely restrained snort as he bites his lip.
“Oh my god.”
“I’m fine I promise.”
“Wild nooo....” You whine and Wild thinks for a minute that the information upset you so much that you’re going to cry. “Who did it? I’ll kill them with my bare hands. Who hurt you?”
Wild comes to a full stop again and sighs. Deep and tired but he tilts his head and offers you his hand. “Do you want the short story or the long?”
“Long story please.”
For the first time since this conversation started, Wild smiles even if it’s faint and subtle. “Alright, let’s take the scenic route back. This might take a while.”

☆ [nostalgic] summer romance!au jisung another late birthday au for the february neos ;__; find others here: johnny | haechan | taeil | taeyong | mark | jaemin | yangyang | yuta | sicheng | chenle | kun | yukhei | doyoung | jaehyun | jungwoo | ten
a sour taste makes its way down jisung's throat
he pulls the candy out of his mouth and scrunches his face up
"did this shit expire?"
renjun's lips thin, "since when have you started cursing?"
chenle harks on the grass beside the other two
"ever since he got dumped."
jisung doesn't disagree.
out of everyone to pick up on his change of habits, it'd be his best friend.
he doesn't like to admit it, but the breakup that launched the beginning of his summer has made him feel different
bitter, angry, empty
he's sure if he told someone older like his parents or a professor they'd explain that it's normal.
it's part of growing up to have to process these horrible emotions and learn to feel them less extremely.
that somehow doesn't comfort jisung at all, why is it his fault that being young makes everything feel more vivid? the shatter of the heart in his chest and all the little pieces wedged up in his veins hurt so bad.
"jisung, you'll find someone better."
renjun ties his shoelaces and gets up, he's still chewing on the taffy they brought from the corner store.
jisung follows and he's never been so awkward about his budding height more than he is now
"i doubt that, i don't think i could find anyone better than my first love."
chenle gives a depressed sounding laugh and renjun starts a spiel about how he's being dramatic and silly
the sounds gloss over in jisung's ears, he tosses the candy he'd spit out and the wrapper over his shoulder
"you shouldn't litter."
three sets of eyes turn to the voice, you stand there with your gym bag over your shoulder on a path a little way down from the grassy hill the boys are on
you look at jisung with an unwavering gaze that drops to where he assumes the candy wrapper landed
you bend down and pick it up, shake your head and walk away
jisung follows your figure through the park as renjun and chenle mutter about how you're kind of right but kind of rude
"do you know them?"
jisung asks and renjun taps the bottom of his chin
"i think ive seen them at the tennis courts."
jisung doesn't know what it is about you.
he mistakenly thinks it is dislike that breeds curiosity when he shows up at the public tennis court the next day
you're out on the court with a group of middle schoolers, showing them the right way to swing a racket
jisung leans against the shade of a tree as you go through each step slowly and then have the kids copy you one by one
when you make a sudden movement to turn in the direction he's standing, he slinks behind the trunk
this is so fucking weird, im being a creep
he doesn't have anything to do for the rest of the day, or the rest of the summer, but still he cringes at himself
i should find something better than staring at a goddamn stranger. chenle was right, im cursing way too much.
so he leaves and he doesn't come back
but he visits the park for the next week with the slight hope that your path will cross with him on accident
not that he entertains that as actual hope - just that curiosity that nips at his heel like a cat asking to be feed
on day seven it happens
jisung is staring up at the expanse of the warm blue sky and you're walking from the direction of the tennis courts, you pause to check your phone and jisung springs to his feet
he's in front of you before he really knows what to even say
you don't look as freaked out as he was scared you might, you actually just blink and then point your finger at him
looks like they've got bad habits just like me
"you're the boy who litters!"
"i don't usually litter, i was just in a bad mood that day."
"doesn't excuse throwing your garbage around."
"is that why you remembered me?"
you slip your phone into the pocket of your duffel bag and shake your head
"no, there's another reason."
jisung itches to ask why but he realizes now that this conversation is going exponentially better than it could have
you could have said something like get the hell away from me....or who are you?
"do you want to walk with me for a little bit?"
fuck, i should have just asked why - asking them to walk is weirder
"why not."
you and jisung do loops around the park - it's pretty big so by the time you're on the third loop the night lamps are coming on and the sun is slowly disappearing
you two have talked about everything and nothing at the same time
jisung asks you if you're going to be at the park tomorrow
"i teach a summer tennis course for the park three times a week, but tomorrow is my off day."
"have any plans?"
he puts his hands in his pockets because they're sweating - i should have asked if they wanted me to carry their bag while we were walking. god did getting broken up with make me so stupid too?
"are you asking me out?"
jisungs palms stick to the fabric of his pants
"i got broken up with before summer started."
he blurts out before he can take it back, you poke your tongue into your cheek
"me too."
the genuine surprise makes jisung look younger than he is and you cross your hands over your chest as if you regret sharing the information
"sorry, i have to go."
you edge around him and jisung has one million thoughts run through his brain, how he should apologize or ask for your number or suggest something that could heal you both in the snap of this one summer minute
but instead he watches you walk ahead for a whole two minutes before you turn on your heel and uncross your arms
"can you meet me here at noon?"
"tomorrow?"
jisung feels the sweat on the nape of his neck now too, matching the moistness on his palms
"no, in twenty years. yes - tomorrow."
he nods and you don't give him anything else to work with as you disappear and jisung catches the last little slither of sunlight wave goodbye with you
"are you rebounding already?"
chenle's voice comes through the headphones as jisung clicks on a zombie with his mouse and shoots it
"it's not a rebound - we both got dumped so i thought we could like...FUCK! i died dude."
chenle groans
"maybe they can help you fix this cursing problem, but uhhh it totally sounds like a rebound to me."
jisung thinks about that as he waits for you at the park
rebounding has actually never even occurred to him as a possibility.
then again falling head over heels and getting tossed aside by the person he thought was his soulmate also never occurred to him as a possibility either - especially not before he's even managed to graduate university
but using someone to feel better about himself - that just isn't him.
"oh you actually came?"
he stops staring at the grass and meets the half smile you're wearing. he matches it with a shy one of his own.
you take jisung's hand easily - as if you weren't strangers a week ago - and tug him toward the park gates
"where-"
you look over your shoulder
"we have to eat ice-cream on a date."
jisung and you have the same taste, getting the same flavor of ice cream with a hard no to sprinkles. you tell jisung about this kid you teach privately for tennis and how he's a little rich brat but his parents always tip you nicely. jisung tells you that his best friend is chenle and they met when he nearly broke an elbow on the first day of middle school.
jisung pays for your bus ticket into the busier part of the city, you beat him at a couple of arcade games, and then he absolutely crushes you at mini-basketball. you pile all your tickets together and jisung tells you to pick the prize you want.
he watches you as you scan the cheap toys and then turn to your left where a younger girl is trying to see if she has enough for a sad looking stuffed panda
you dump the tickets into her hand and grin when her whole face lights up, jisung walks out behind you and goes
"you're actually nice aren't you?"
"oh - you didn't think i was nice when we first met?"
"i-"
jisung stutters when you look directly at him
"i just mean you- it was nice what you did in the arcade."
"why did your ex break up with you?"
jisung's world sort of stops for a moment. you still haven't looked away and he gets lightheaded by the sudden question.
"i don't know."
you nod, as if the answer is what you expected, and you take his hand again and make way toward the bus
he curls his larger fingers around yours and is silently thankful you don't ask for any more details
actually you both don't say anything the ride back, even though you rest your head on his shoulder the entire time
your hands are still clasped together and jisung finds himself not wanting to let go even when you stop in front of the park again
"thanks for the date."
you unwind your fingers first and jisung swallows
"do you want to go on another one?"
you shake your head
"sorry, i don't think i can do this more than once."
genuine shock sets in on jisung's face
"w-what do you mean?"
"i know being heartbroken makes you lonely, it makes me lonely too, but i can't just be someone's summer fling and get abandoned again. plus jisung -"
you tilt your head with a small laugh
"i think you're really cute and if we do this again i will start liking you seriously."
what the fuck do i say?
jisung thinks the summer heat in the air constricts around him - especially when he can't open his mouth to answer and you give a solemn wave as you turn and start to disappear down the sidewalk
fuck fuck fuck fuck
the curses start to hurt his brain and jisung breaks into a sprint to catch you before you make it to the end of the block
slipping his hand back into yours and spinning you to face him
"im not going to abandon you. and i - i already like you so please let me take you on another date."
the words fall out like letters into alphabet soup and you stare wide-eyed at him for about a second before you lean in and kiss him
and jisung forgets the entire language he's spoken since he was a child, curses and vulgarity gone with it
the second date comes and goes, then the third, and then the fourth, fifth, and sixth.
jisung watches you give tennis lessons and you even tug him onto the court one day to help with picking up the scattered balls off the court
the younger kids you teach really adore him, tall and smiley, they cling to him more than they do to you
and there really isn't any way you can stop them because soon enough you feel that urgency to be near him always too
it might be because jisung is so different from your ex, and you are so different from his
the reality is that when you finally tell each other what happened before your respective summers started
it turns out - it's almost exactly the same
jisung looks up at you as you lay across him in the tall grass of an empty corner of the parks sprawling fields, your tennis equipment abandoned and his shoes sitting beside yours in a lazy heap
"they just told me one day i wasn't enough."
you bury your face in his chest and sigh
"maybe im not, maybe something about me is still missing."
the tenor of his voice is sad and you put both hands on the grass to lift yourself up above him, you stare down into the prettiest eyes you've ever seen on a boy in your life
"shuttup park jisung. nothing is missing from you. you're enough."
he gives you a goofy smile and you want so badly to smile back and kiss him but you take the moment seriously and add
"remember when you asked me if i only remembered you because i caught you littering like weeks ago?"
the furrow of his eyebrow is enough of an answer
"i said there was another reason."
he sits up and you fall gently back against his knees and lap, jisung opens his mouth as if to ask what it was but you put your hands on both his cheeks before he can
"that reason was because i could see all of you - people tend to be shrouded in something, but it was all on your face the moment you made eye contact with me. jisung - you're the farthest person i know from being incomplete. you're you and no one else."
the weight of your words comes crashing down on you a second later and you get up off of jisung in a fit of embarrassment
even though you meant what you said it felt like something of a wedding vow than something you say someone you've been dating for only a month
but jisung just breaks into a bigger smile - he pulls you back down into a hug that gets you both covered in grass stains
"im so happy"
you smell the fabric softener on his t-shirt and suddenly wish you could slip it off of him and put it on yourself
his hands tighten around you
"i always thought the other reason was because i was ugly or something."
you scrunch up your nose and tell him to be quiet, but jisung just laughs and buries his nose in your hair
the rest of the summer is smooth and the happiest one you've had so far - and jisung, who had thought it would be hell, agrees
renjun points out that he hasn't heard jisung even utter the word 'damn' since he started dating you
and chenle cuts in that it's true - now whenever they game jisung just groans into the mic (or abandoned the game completely to fool around you with - as it is in chenle's imagination)
you notice it too, and you notice how everyday jisung grows further from the heartbreak that he had festered on for so long
and just becomes more open with you
on your last day at your summer job and what feels like the last day of summer in general, jisung picks you up with balloons
you both hand them out to the kids you worked with and keep one shaped like a big red heart tied around your wrist as you two walk through the dimming evening of the park
fall is coming, your shoulders shake and jisung pulls you closer into him, and when he stops suddenly
you see that you're in the place where you first met - when jisung had let that candy wrapper tumble down a grassy hill and you had picked it up with disdain
"is untying the balloon and letting it float off considered littering?"
he asks and you think for a second
"probably, it'll get stuck in a tree somewhere and we don't want that."
he looks down and leans in to kiss you gently, letting your lower lip sit between his teeth for a moment before he pulls away
"can we do it anyway to make the moment special?"
you look at him, eyes clear as day, and answer
"every moment is special with you."
jisung manages to get ten of those red balloons through the door of your shared apartment on your tenth anniversary
you fret about how balloons are bad for the environment, but still launch yourself at him in a big hug when he gets them all settled into your living room
he catches you, laughing as you both muse that you can't believe it has been ten years since you met
"and i haven't cursed once since then - can you believe it?"
you roll your eyes and say yeah sure, like he didn't curse when he stubbed his toe on your bed this morning
he pouts his lip and asks, "play along ok - just say i haven't cursed once."
"you haven't cursed once in the ten years we have been dating."
something twinkles in jisung's eye and you bite back your lip
"exactly - so is it ok if i curse this one time and say-"
he fishes something out of his pocket that looks like a small box, you think your breath catches in your throat
"i fuc-freaking love you - will you marry me?"

Dancing With Danger

Author's Note: Edited another story for y'all! Enjoy! -Thorne
Dick:
His feet hit the fire escape, and he cursed himself at his carelessness. He shifted, trying to pick his feet up before it happened, but he was too late; he thrashed, pulling away from the metal railing that was curling around his ankles, but the second they wrapped around his thighs, he knew he was done. Still, he struggled, fighting even as the railing wrapped around his wrists and waist, effectively pinning him to the wall. He grunted, heaving with all his might, hoping that he could find some slack within the metal, but he couldn’t, then he heard an amused chuckle from above.
“You sure fell for that one, didn’t you, Nightwig?”
He craned his neck up to see her on the ledge he’d just jumped from. His eyes narrowed into a glare and she lowered down; her feet hit the metal platform and she sashayed over to him.
He rolled his eyes and deadpanned, “Nightwing.”
She put a hand to her ear, a smartass smirk playing her lips. “Sorry, Nightwig? What was that?”
He growled at her. “Wing. Night. Wing.”
She put her hand to her chest in mock apology, nodding. “Right, right. Nightwing.” She grinned and stepped up to him, reaching out a hand and tracing at the raised symbol on his chest. “But back to my original question…you really did fall for that one.” She cocked her head to the side as she leaned against the railing. “I thought you were supposed to be the smart one out of the family?”
“I am.”
“Really? From the way you leaped without looking first, you could’ve fooled me.”
He tugged at the metal around his wrists. “It was an accident, it won’t happen again—” He stopped, glowering at her. “When I get out of here, I’m going to—” His words stuttered as she pressed herself up against him, draping her arms around his neck, slipping one of her legs between his hips until her thigh was nestled against his front.
One of her hands fell away and twirled the hair that brushed his cheekbones as she repeated, “When you get out of this?” She waved the hand, and he felt the metal tighten, then a piece came up and circled his neck; it wasn’t tight enough to cut off the air, but just enough to feel the pressure and he gasped despite himself.
Her eyes narrowed in amusement and she whispered, “I’m afraid you’re not going to get out of this one, Nightwing.”
She hummed and leaned close, lips brushing against his cheek as she said, “You’re stuck.” He raised his head a little, swallowing thickly, as he tried to get comfortable with the metal around his neck. “Man, you look like a lost puppy.”
“And why’s that?”
“Because you don’t know what to do.” He opened his mouth to retort but shut it when he realized that she was right—he didn’t have anything, his mind was blank, and it must’ve shown on his face because she grinned and murmured, “And there we go…you know I’m right.”
He inhaled deeply before clearing his throat. “So, what are you gonna do to me?”
She reached up and traced his jaw. “Hot man in a skintight black and blue suit, helplessly pinned to a wall? I could think of a few things.” The finger she was using to trace his jaw shifted slightly and traced his bottom lip. “You and I could break a sweat for a few hours.” Her head dipped towards his ear and she smirked as he shivered. “Ravish each other’s bodies until we’re slick with sweat and collapsed chest to chest.”
When he gave her no response she pulled back and peered at him a moment before huffing and bopping his nose. “But you really don’t look all that into what we’ve got going on.”
She pulled away, leaving him missing her warmth, and she waved a hand, the metal around him uncurled, freeing him. “So, I’m just gonna go on my merry way.” She slipped over the railing and climbed up to the ledge.
Before he could stop himself, he stepped forward, a hand reaching out as he called, “Wait!”
She stopped, turning around, a smirk on her face. “Yes, Nightwing?”
“What if I was?” he asked.
“Was what?”
He swallowed thickly, suit suddenly feeling skintight. “Into it. You know…you and me…breaking a sweat…ravishing each other?”
She hummed and winked at him. “I guess we’ll just have to wait for the next time you get careless.” She pulled something from her pocket and waved it around. “Thanks for the souvenir, cutie. It’ll go great on my wall.”
His eyes widened at the sight of the Batarang in her hand and he patted his pockets. “How did you—”
She winked again. “If you can catch me…I’ll tell you.” She mock saluted him as she took off. “See you later, pretty boy!” He huffed a laugh, feeling the grin work onto his lips as he jumped the railing, climbing the ledge, and taking off after her.
Jason:
His feet sunk as he sprinted in the gravel of the electric station. His hood had been lost a few moments before, cast off somewhere in the forest he’d been chasing her through, but he didn’t care; he was too focused on catching her and bringing her to GCPD.
He saw her up ahead, simply standing still, face directed towards the sky, and he skidded to a stop, pulling out his guns. “Look doll, I don’t want to hurt you. But if you wanna dance? I can dance.”
She turned around, and the grin she wore made his stomach clench, and he wasn’t sure if it was from apprehension…or arousal. “Really? Because I don’t think it’ll be much of a dance between us, Red Hood.”
He narrowed his eyes as he thumbed the hammer back on his pistols. “Why’s that?”
She motioned around him. “Look around you, Casanova…you don’t realize where you’ve just run into, do you?”
He looked around for a second, then his eyes widened, and he muttered, “Oh shit.” His eyes darted back to her, and he raised the guns, but it was too late.
She waved her hand, and they went flying off somewhere he couldn’t get to. He stepped back, intent on fleeing when something hard hit his back. There wasn’t even time to glance behind him as hands moved involuntarily over his head.
She tutted as she walked towards him. “And that, Casanova, is why you don’t where gloves with metal plates in them.” She paused, tipping her head to the side. “Well, I could control you even if you didn’t have metal gloves.”
He paused, staring at her as she stood up in front of him. “…The iron in my blood.”
Her eyes widened in mild surprise and she smiled. “Not many people can get that one. Well done.” She reached into her pocket and pulled something out, raising it and shoving it into his mouth. “Have a cookie.” His eyes narrowed, and he tried to spit it out, but she placed a hand over his mouth and laughed at the glare. “Relax, Casanova, it’s a chocolate chip cookie…not poison.” His eyes were still narrowed, but he chewed slowly, and she snorted as she pulled her hand away. “You’re kinda stubborn.”
He swallowed and bit out, “It’s one of my charms.”
She smiled at him and lifted her hands, rifling through his pockets; he let out a grunt and tried to pull away, but a metal cord wrapped around his strong arms and broad chest, stopping him. “Good news for me then.” She stopped, pulling out whatever it was she was looking for. “I like stubbornness.” She winked. “Makes sex fun.”
His eyes widened and he stopped struggling in favor of gaping like a fish. “I…What?”
She snorted and looked down at the tracker, tapping a few buttons before crushing it in her hand. “I like stubborn men because it makes sex fun.” She looked at him and tapped his forehead. “Did I get through the central brain function this time?”
He blinked and leaned as far as he could. “You…want to have sex…with me?”
She nodded, eying his body with no shame whatsoever, and he felt his body flush with desire under her gaze. “With a body and thighs like yours? Who wouldn’t want to have sex with you?”
He smirked at her answer and cocked his head up. “You let me out of this, and we can take this to a hotel. I promise I won’t disappoint you, doll.”
She huffed a laugh and reached up, running her hands up his suited stomach as she quipped, “Is this before or after you hand me over to GCPD?”
His muscles flexed at the feel of the pressure and he murmured, “Before, of course. I wouldn’t be a gentleman if I left a woman unsatisfied.”
Her eyes narrowed and she tipped her head up, resting her chin on his chest; he gazed down at her, their faces inches apart. “Sounds hot. But as much as I’d love to roll around with you all night…I have no plans of sitting in a jail cell.” She paused; her hands splayed along his chest as she asked, “You gotta S.O.S. button I can activate for you, Casanova? I’d hate to leave you defenseless.”
He scoffed at her ‘concern’ and nodded. “Device in my left thigh pocket.” Her eyes never left his as she reached down, unbuttoning the pocket before pulling it out and clicking the button. She dropped it on the ground and brought her hand up, ‘accidently’ brushing the inside of his thigh with her hand; he sucked in a breath that sounded distinctly like a groan and she let out an amused hum.
“Sorry Casanova, my hand slipped there.”
He chuckled and murmured, “Oh, I’m sure it did, doll.”
For a moment he was sure she was gonna hit him, then she gripped his chin in her hand and pulled him into a searing kiss. His eyes went wide then she shut, just as she grinned and stepped away from him.
She cast him a wink and turned, walking off, but stopped when he breathed heavily, “So, just out of curiosity…if we happen to do this tango again…can we do it in a bed next time?”
She glanced at him over her shoulder. “Only if I get to top.”
He smirked at her. “I’d love to see you above me, doll.”
She winked at him before turning back around, swaying her hips as she walked off; she waved, calling out, “I’ll see you the next time we dance, Casanova.”
Tim:
He fumbled with the change the barista had given him before he finally grunted exasperatedly and shoved it into the tip jar; she blinked, stunned at the action. “Um, Red Robin? You just put all that change in the tip jar.”
He nodded, handing her the thermos. “I know.” He motioned to the can. “Put the java chip Frappuccino in the cup and we’re square.”
She nodded, taking it from him. “But are you sure you don’t want your change? You literally gave us like eighty dollars in tips.”
“I just want my coffee. I really don’t need the money.”
She shrugged, but made his drink, and a few moments later he was stepping out of the Starbucks and moving down the alley. He brought the cup to his lips when the sound of someone coughing behind him made him whirl around, his Bo staff already clicked and extended. He only had it in his hand for a split second when it whipped out of his grip, flying against the wall.
It dropped and he capped the thermos, setting it down before he raised his hands, ready to fight. “You.”
He barely had a second to react before his back hit the alley wall, his staff pinning shoved into his chest, holding his back against it. He struggled, trying to push it out of the way. When it didn’t budge, he tried to crawl out from underneath, but it curled, digging each end into the wall underneath his arms. He stopped struggling and sighed, realizing that he was caged and not able to slip out.
She stepped towards him and picked up the thermos, winking at him. “Me.”
He grunted, trying to reach for the cup. “That’s mine.”
She snorted at his vain attempt and uncapped it. “Mine now, Red.”
He groaned as he watched her take a sip. “Why would you hurt me like this? You know my weakness is my coffee.”
She nodded as she swallowed and brought the cup down. “And pretty girls who manipulate metal.” She winked. “Don’t forget that one too.”
He grumbled in annoyance but acquiesced. “Yes, yes. Coffee and pretty girls who manipulate metal make me weak in my knees.” He glared at her as she took another sip. “Happy now?”
She nodded. “I’m getting there.” She shook the cup. “When I finish this, I’ll be very happy.”
He whined at her. “C’mon…don’t do me like this.”
“You’re so cute when you whimper.”
“I’m not whimpering.”
“Alright puppy. You keep telling yourself that.”
He whined once more when she took another sip. “I’ll do anything if you stop drinking my coffee.”
She raised an eyebrow at him and capped the thermos before lowering it and walking up to him. “Anything?”
He nodded frantically his hand reached out to grab it. “Anything. Just let me have my coffee.” She kept it out of his grip, only letting his fingers brush it and he groaned, looking at her. “Please?”
She smirked and reached up, taking his chin in her hand; she leaned close and pressed her lips to his. She laughed internally as he groaned against her, his hands no longer reaching for the cup, this time trying to get a grip on her suit to yank her against him. She felt his tongue dart against her lips, and she opened her mouth for him, letting him slip his tongue inside. She let him have his way for a few seconds before she pulled back; he chased her lips until she rested her pointer finger against them, effectively stopping him.
His breath was hot against her finger and she tapped his mouth quipping, “For someone who wants coffee so badly, it seems to me like you want to make out a helluva lot more.”
He grinned, giving her full view of his pearly white teeth. “Would it help more if I told you I wanted to drink my coffee, then make out with you in the movie theater balconies?”
Her eyes narrowed in amusement and she twirled away, uncapping his thermos once more. “It probably would.” She gestured to him. “You get outta that and find me in the balconies and we can continue where we left off.” She waved as she stepped off, sipping his coffee. “Bye Red.”
After a few moments, the bent Bo staff dropped to the ground and he jerked forward, taking off in the direction of the movie theater, his heart hammering in his chest as a face-splitting grin crossed his lips.
Bruce:
She collapsed into the lawn chair on the roof, tugging off the pants and overshirt she wore until she was left in her underwear and bra. She groaned, feeling the heat crawl over her body, and she raised a hand, making a piece of metal spin like a ceiling fan until it blew a breeze.
The air it gave off barely staved the sweltering humidity and she groaned once more. “It’s. Too. Fucking. Hot.”
She heard an amused hum beside her, and she cracked an eye open, seeing him standing above her; she grunted and waved him away from her. “Oh, go shove it, Batman. You know I love playing two-person-push-ups, but it’s too hot to play right now.” Another amused hum followed and she rolled over onto her stomach.
She turned her face to the side and glared up at him. “How are you not dying of a goddamn heatstroke right now? I know you’ve gotta be sweating under all those titanium plates.”
He shrugged. “Suit has a built-in cool layer. I’m in the middle between starting to sweat and not.” He paused, looking around, then added, “It’s about a good seventy-five out here.”
She groaned, reaching down to grab her glass; sipping it, she motioned to the pitcher and empty glass. “I figured you’d show up sometime tonight…have a drink if you want.”
Surprisingly, he poured himself a glass and sat beside her. “Why are you out on the roof?”
“‘Cause my fucking AC broke.”
“You can’t fix it?”
She glared at him. “I manipulate metal, Batman. I don’t fix things.” The corners of his mouth turned up and she closed her eyes, whining, “It’s so hotttttt!”
A few seconds later, she felt a cool breeze run up her body and her she moaned, digging her face into the chair. “Whatever you’ve got going, Batman…it feels great.” She received a chuckle in return, and she mumbled, “If you even think about trying to arrest me, I’ll crush your head in that metal helmet you’ve got on. You hear me, Batman?”
He hummed at her. “Mhm. Don’t worry. I’ll take pity on you simply because you’re hot.”
She opened her eyes and grinned at him. “Well, thanks for saying.” She winked. “Is that the reason you like sleeping with me?”
He huffed a laugh and tipped his head. “I like sleeping with you because you like sleeping with me.” He peered at her. “And you’re a mystery I can’t figure out.”
She flipped over onto her back and propped herself up on her elbows, raising an eyebrow. “What do you mean by that?”
“You have the ability to manipulate metal and magnetic fields…I like to know what makes people the way they are, but I can’t figure out why you have the ability.”
She shrugged at his answer. “I can’t answer the question either…as far as I know, I’m the only one in my family who can do this.”
He was silent a moment, then inquired, “Why don’t you use your abilities for the good of society? Why do you do the things you do?” She met his eyes and stared at him.
“Why not?” He blinked, a little stunned at her answer as she continued, “Not everyone wants to be a hero, Batman.”
“You want to be an anti-hero then?”
“I kinda have the same mentality as Red Hood. Fucking with criminals is so much more fun than working with them. Except I’m not trying to save everyone.” She paused. “And I mean that in a pranking sense not a sexual one.” She huffed and dropped her head back. “I really don’t feel like discussing our moral ambiguities right now, Batman.”
“What do you want to discuss?”
“How you’re planning on fixing my AC for me.”
“Why would I do that?”
“Because if you don’t, I’ll stop sleeping with you.” She raised her head back up and grinned at him. “And I really don’t think you want to stop sleeping with me.” He stood up from his position and stared down at her, then held out a hand; she glanced at it before looking back at him. “What?”
“Want to get out of the heat?”
“And where is ‘out of the heat’?”
“My apartment in the city.” He flashed her a smile. “AC keeps the place a solid sixty-five.”
She arched an eyebrow at that. “We’ve never tangoed in anyone’s apartment other than mine.” She peered at him, suspiciously. “What’s your game, Batman? You gonna tell me who you are or something?”
He said nothing, just kept the hand out until she rolled her eyes and reached out, taking it. His hand curled around hers and he tugged her up; she hit his chest, her other palm going flat against it.
His arm wound around her waist holding her close and he murmured, “If I told you who I was right now, without taking off my cowl, would you believe me?”
She gaped at him before recovering and flirted, “Hold onto your secret for a little while longer, Batman…I like the game we have going.” He smirked and she wiggled in his grip. “Either get me somewhere cold or let go. I’m starting to sweat again.”
He released her, stepping away and motioning to the apartment complex off in the distance. “Blue building with the neon billboard on top.”
She nodded and leaned down, slipping on her clothes, then slipping on the metal cuffs around her wrists. She walked beside him, letting her hand come up the back of his thigh as she murmured, “I’ll see you there, Batman.”
He watched as she rose from the building, making her way across the city before he huffed and jumped down the alley, sliding into the Batmobile and starting his drive towards a pleasure filled night.

A/N: Hello all! This is my entry for @ghost-party’s Meet Cute Collab with my darling husband Levi. I’ve never written for him before so I was a little nervous haha, I hope I did him justice! Thank you to everyone who reads, likes, comments, and reblogs- you are all wonderful and I appreciate your support! I hope you enjoy, my sweet potatoes!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Morning,” Jean greets you with a crooked smile and a steaming cup of coffee. It’s the good stuff from the café by his apartment, your favourite thing to help your brain shift into creative mode. “You’re later than usual.”
You grab the cup from him, sighing as you feel the warmth bleed into your hands. “Overslept. Barely had time to get dressed and brush my teeth.”
Jean’s eyes rove over you as you sink into your chair, humming to yourself as you sip on your drink. “I can see. Do you know you’re wearing two different shoes? And I think your sweater is on inside out. Why do you still even have that ugly thing anyways?”
“Thank you for your comments,” you roll your eyes. “I know I look like a hot mess and I don’t need any words from you, Mr. I Asked The Nude Model Out And Got Shot Down.”
Jean’s ears turn red, and he shoots you a dirty look before busying himself with arranging his pencils. “Shut up.”
You snicker to yourself as you set up your own area. Last week’s model had been a soft, pretty brunette that had instantly made Jean all starry-eyed, like a teenage boy with his first crush. It was generally considered a bit taboo to ask out the nude models, but he’d thrown that aside and gone for the kill after she’d slid back into her clothes. She’d laughed and patted his cheek like he was a naughty child asking for candy before dinner. Then proceeded to walk out and climb onto the back of her boyfriend’s motorcycle (but not before making out with said boyfriend for a good 5 minutes, minimum).
Jean had been left with red cheeks and no date, and you’d been left with great blackmail material.
“I wonder who will be our victim today,” you decide to take mercy on your poor friend and change the subject. “Most likely a guy, since we had a woman last week.”
“We’ll know in about 5 minutes,” Jean looks up at the clock on the wall. “Old Cueball is never late.”
Sure enough, in exactly 5 minutes your very bald and very punctual professor casually strolls through the door. A short man in a green coat is following him, presumably your newest subject. You crane your neck, trying to get a better look at his face, but all you can see is dark hair falling like a curtain over pale skin.
“Good morning class,” Professor Pyxis greets you, tossing his briefcase down on his desk with his usual nonchalant air. “I see you are all ready, so let’s get right to it.” He gestures to the person beside him. “This is Mr. Levi Ackerman. He’s your model for the week.”
The class murmurs in curiosity as the mentioned Levi Ackerman turns to face the room.
You swear your heart actually skips a beat.
Steel gray eyes observe the room from a face that practically begs to be immortalized through art. Every line is hard and strong, covered in clear skin that looks like it would slide under your fingers like the smoothest silk. Your eyes drink in his features greedily, from the regal bridge of his nose to the proud edge of his jaw. You decide your favorite thing though, is his cheeks. They are utterly cherubic, round and full and dusted ever so lightly with the lightest shade of pink.
He’s possibly the prettiest man you have ever seen.
“Hey, I know him,” Jean whispers, cutting off your entranced thoughts. “That’s Mikasa’s distant cousin, the one I told you she found on Ancestry.com last year. I’ve met him once, he’s got a stick so far up his butt, he’d need surgery to remove it. Never would have pegged him for the type to do this sort of thing.”
You vaguely remember a previous conversation involving Jean’s childhood friend and some long lost relatives.
“He doesn’t look that uptight,” you muse, too busy admiring the way his lips glint temptingly under the fluorescents to really process Jean’s words. “He’s beautiful, like something out of a Renaissance painting.”
Jean opens his mouth to reply, but Pyxis begins to speak.
“As usual, draw whichever side of him is facing you, all angles will be graded equally,” your professor plops himself down in his chair, already scrolling through his phone to find the playlist for the day. “Completed drawings to be submitted to me by the end of class on Friday. Please remember be respectful and courteous to our guest. Mr. Ackerman, whenever you’re ready.”
The man nods to your professor, already slipping out of his coat as he steps up onto the platform in the center of the room. You watch, mesmerized, as he proceeds to shed himself of his clothes. It’s rigid and methodical (he folds his clothes like he’s worked his whole life in a department store), but somehow oddly endearing. Every inch of his body that is revealed is consumed eagerly by your shameless stare, and you sincerely hope you don’t start drooling. By the time he carefully removes his final items, you feel like you are vibrating in your seat.
Holy fucking shit, he’s built like a god. Like Michelangelo himself carved him out of a block of the most pristine marble. You trace your gaze down the column of his throat, over the strong shoulders and sinewy arms, the impressive set of abs, the thighs that look like they could crush your head and you’d be nothing but happy about it. It takes a minute before you’re able to make yourself look between his thighs, and when you finally do, you have to looks away immediately. Good grief, even that is stupidly handsome. You can’t help but wonder if it would feel as nice as it looks.
Your face heats from your lewd thoughts, and you grip your pencil so hard it almost snaps. Beside you, Jean snickers.
“You okay over there? It looks like you’re about to explode.”
“Can it,” you hiss, glad that the ambient music Pyxis chose will probably keep your conversation private. “I can’t help it that I’m looking at the most gorgeous dick attached to the most gorgeous man I think I’ve ever seen.”
“You haven’t seen mine.”
“I don’t own a microscope.”
“Ooooh, see if I buy you coffee tomorrow, bitch.”
You stick your tongue out at him before turning back to your easel. As you move, you catch the gaze of Levi, his expression unreadable. Warmth creeps up the back of you neck, and you duck behind your sketchpad in embarrassment. You seriously hope he didn’t hear you, he’d probably report you to Pyxis for being creepy. You decide to lock all your stupid horny thoughts deep within the recesses of your mind, and take a few deep breaths to clear your head.
It works, and as you touch pencil to paper, the desire to create overflows inside of you.
Unsurprisingly, you become utterly engrossed in your work, your pencil sweeping over the pad with almost a mind of it’s own. Levi is the perfect model; you swear he’s not even breathing as he majestically hold his pose without even a quiver. The contours of his body spring to life on the page, and you can’t stop the joyful smile that blooms on your lips as you work. It’s times like these, when everything is so perfect, that you truly realize just how much you love making art.
Before you know it, Pyxis announces class is over, and you’ll resume with Levi tomorrow. The man of the hour begins to re-dress as your fellow classmates pack up their supplies and file out. You absent mindedly wave to Jean, who is practically sprinting out the door so he can make his next class all the way across campus. You’re still engrossed in your drawing, staring at it with critical eyes. It good, one of the best starts you’ve had all year, but now that the high of creating has worn off, you can see where you need to improve.
“You’re very good.”
You gasp and jump, whirling around to find Levi standing behind you, eyes fixed on your sketch. How did he even get there? You hadn’t seen him or heard him.
“Oh, uh, Mr Ackerman!” You squeak, your heart racing like you’ve just run a marathon.  “T-that’s very nice, I mean, thank- thank you very much!”
“It’s Levi,” your muse says, seemingly unbothered by your stammering. “Yours is going to be the best one here.”
You blink stupidly at his bold statement. “Did you look at all of them?”
“No,” Levi’s voice is firm, a tone that brokers no argument. “But you had the most joy on your face while you worked. That much passion doesn’t churn out stuff that looks like shit.”
“Oh, that’s only because you are such a great model,” you gush, insides turning warm at his praise. “You stayed so still and you looked so damn regal and you’re just so pretty and-” Your eyes go wide as you realize the absolute words vomit leaving your mouth, mortification slithering up your spine.
“I’m pretty?” Levi raises an eyebrow. “You think I’m pretty?”
“No!” You shout, and the man’s other eyebrow joins the first. “No wait, yes! I mean, fuck, I mean you are probably the most handsome man I’ve ever seen!”
Levi’s eyebrows have now practically become one with his hairline. You wring your hands, wishing the floor would just open up and swallow you. “I-well- come on, people must tell you how good looking you are! I can’t be the first.”
“No, but you certainly are the most enthusiastic about it,” Levi deadpans.
Oh, someone just put you out of your misery now.
“I’m sorry,” you offer, cringing internally at your complete ineptitude to hold a conversation with an attractive man. “I....get carried away sometimes.”
“It’s fine,” Levi’s stoic expression softens just a little. “It’s kind of nice to hear, actually. Usually I’m told I’m good looking, but ‘far too short’.”
“That’s bullshit.” you say vehemently, honestly shocked people would deny this man his godhood over something as trivial as height. “Who cares if you’re shorter? It doesn’t detract from you. What’s that phrase again? Good things come in small packages? Well, not that you’re small, I’m not saying that, I just meant-”
“Yes, you did seem to find my package....good,” Levi interrupts, and you swear you see the corners of his lips twitch upwards.
Your eyes widen in horror as your brain replays your hushed conversation with Jean. “You heard that?!”
“I’m told I have exceptionally good hearing.”
“Oh fuck me,” you groan, burying your face in your hands. “I am literally so, so, sorry. That was completely out of line. I have no excuse other than it’s clearly been too long since I’ve gotten some, but that’s no reason to make you uncomfortable. Please, if there’s anything I can do to to make it up to you, I’ll do it!”
“Have tea with me.””
Your head shoots up, surprise coloring your features. “What?”
“Tch, you heard me,” Levi tuts, reaching into his coat pocket and pulling out his phone. “I haven’t got free time till Saturday-stupid Shitty Glasses wanting to trade shifts-but if you want to go out, give me your number and we can work out the details.”
You stare at him with your mouth open, unsure if this is really happening or you’re vividly daydreaming again.
“Umm, are you sure?” You ask, wondering if you should pinch yourself to see if you are indeed imagining things. “I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’m wearing two different shoes and my sweater is inside out. Believe me when I say these sorts of fashion statements happen more often than not. Plus, I practically salivated over you like some sort of horny middle aged suburban housewife who hasn’t been laid in years.” You pause to take a breath, once again unable to stop the words from spewing forth like a fountain. “And I’m so awkward! I mean, are you comfortable in this conversation? And I can’t stop talking once I’ve gotten going, and I say the weirdest shit, and, and-”
“I like you,” he says simply, as if he’s just declared something as obvious as 1+1=2. “I couldn’t give a flying fuck about all the stuff you just said, you’re just... you, and I like it. So, do you want to go on a date or not?”
“O-oh,” you suddenly feel shy, your tummy filling with butterflies at the look of sincerity on his handsome face. You’d never met anyone quite like Levi Ackerman before, and you weren’t about to pass up the opportunity to get to know the man behind the drool-worthy muscles.  “Uh, yes, please, I would like that. Very much.”
An almost relieved expression crosses Levi’s face, and he hands you his phone to type in your number. You notice the time as you do so, and sigh sadly as you hand him his device back.
“Well I better go,” you say reluctantly, suddenly fervently wishing it was Saturday already. “I’ve got another class in 15 minutes.”
“I’ll walk you there,” Levi says briskly, slipping his phone back into his coat. “To make sure you get there safely. Someone might murder you on account of their eyes being assaulted by that garish sweater. ” The corners of his lips twitch upwards once again, and you grow warm all over, from both his gentle teasing and the knowledge he isn’t quite ready to say goodbye yet either.
“Excuse me, I thought you said you didn’t give a ‘flying fuck’ about my attire,” you huff, but you’re grinning as you quickly pack up your bag.
“I don’t care it’s inside out, but you have to know that is the ugliest fucking color know to man,” Levi says, holding out his hand. Your brain malfunctions slightly for a moment, until you realize he’s offering to carry your bag for you. The butterflies inside you whip themselves into a frenzy as you pass him your stuff, your hand just grazing over his. Handsome, funny, honest, and sweet? How is this guy even real?
“I’ll have you know, this sweater is an absolute delight. When it’s inside right,” you stick up your nose, but unable to stop he laugh that slips past your lips.
Levi rolls his eyes in an almost playful manner. “Doubtful .”
You’re not sure where it comes from, but a sudden rush of confidence fills you. “If you’re so offended by it, maybe you should just rip it off of me.”
The tips of Levi’s ears turn a delightful shade of pink. You’re sure your own skin is hot enough to cook an egg on.
“Wear it Saturday then,” Levi’s ears may be flushed, but his eyes flash with something that makes your spine tingle. The insinuation of his words has your gut clenching and your mind whispering fervent prayers to please please please make Saturday get here faster, I don’t ask for much, please!
“Only if you wear your modeling outfit,” you manage to say, trying your best to sound coy when you feel like you might combust into a pile of lust and giddiness. “I’ve never seen someone wear it so well, and I want a closer look.”
If possible, Levi’s eyes grow even darker, and you just know Saturday is going to be one of the best damn days of your entire life.
“Deal.”
