The Adventure of the Glad Outlaw by radondoran 7k | Rated T Summary: While Sherlock Holmes solves the mystery of a student's disappearance, Dr. Watson is more puzzled by the changing dynamic between his flatmate and himself. Notes: cute pastiche! a nice little mystery and a nice little get-together. ahhhhhh.... this fic is like cotton candy to me, so sweet and fluffy. defo recommend

Hands by MinorObsessions (draculard) 1.4k | Rated T Summary: Naturally, there are some things Watson thinks about Holmes that don't make it into the books. Notes: i'm also in the star trek fandom, so if you know anything about that then you know that hands are kind of A Thing in both circles and ergo i now Have A Thing about hands. so this is a nice little ode to holmes' hands, featuring some doctoring by watson AND a nice reverse appraisal at the end. it's so sweet :)

Conductor of Light by ColebaltBlue  1.4k | Rated T Summary: A Victorian stiff upper lip won't prevent you from falling in love, but it might prevent you from realizing it. Notes: they finally get their shit together! honestly i would recommend this fic to anyone just starting out with h/w fics in any medium. the characterization and dialogue is A1, and their argument is really realistic to me, idk. also features the iconic HOUN quote for its title so props to that!

A (Mis)fortunate Man by sans_patronymic 1.5k | Rated T Summary: December, 1880. Watson writes a note which may be his last. December, 1899. Watson writes back. Notes: READ THE TAGS BEFORE READING. this was a gut-wrenching read but god i cried at the end for watson. don't worry, this one has a happy ending. ugh now i wish there was a second chapter where watson lets holmes read the letters. to sum up: oof, my heart

The Second Smartest Man in London by FairSinner 73k | Rated E Summary: Dr John Watson returns from Afghanistan to Victorian London, wounded, traumatised and alone. When he meets Sherlock Holmes, his life begins to seem worth living again. But Holmes is a man who despises sentiment and Watson cannot seem to expunge it from his heart. -kevin is dating both ben and gwen, gwen and his relationship being a lot more outward and public and ben a more private relationship, they only ever kiss or hold hands when its just the two of them or (rarely) when gwen is around, partially bc of bens fame and his own hangups about liking men and partially bc when they are romantic they r extremely vulnerable with each other and thats the sort of thing they wouldnt want anyone else to see.

god this is old as hell but probably life in technicolor/the end of all things. they're life is strange style aus for one punch man and genos dies at the end of one of them, and at the end of the other the city is destroyed. the fics are connected, but i won't say how.

so tired, so tired, my heart and i (pathologic) is probably the sappiest i've ever written a fic so i'm guessing that one!

8. Do you get hate on fics?

occasionally. i got transmisogynist hate for when you finally get inovlved, face to face for writing chihiro as a trans girl, and it made me stop writing for danganronpa altogether. i got a guest user on some burakhovsky nsfw i posted (idr which one) who said "jesus christ, tag your trans shit". and someone who went off on me years ago called vita in motu (pathologic) "borderline mpreg" and they very much meant it derogatorily. so if i seem a lil paranoid about interacting w people there's a reason why lol.

9. Do you write smut? If so, which kind?

i do! i actually write more smut than i post because i am not showing everyone my oc/canon smut. like some friends will be able to see it but i'm not brave enough to show the whole world that. also a lot of au smut recently that has no context and i'm not posting it to ao3 without context.

i'm not sure! my partner says i do vagueness well, and the unease that comes with that. i think i do decent at introspection in general

action for sure. i tend to do better with thought than with action, so i can write really long scenes where absolutely nothing hapens. kind of an issue!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

i don't really do it because i only know like...extremely basic german and i feel it'd be a disservice to other languages to just google translate. i will occasionally describe characters using sign, but again... not knowing it, i don't feel comfortable just saying shit, you know?

i wrote something like fanfic as a like, eight year old? for a book series i can no longer remember. but for first published fanfic it was either bones or soul eater. those fics might still be out there, who knows!

-The hilarity of getting rid of Lo’ak and Kiri who are the canonically closest to Spider and leaving us with Tuk and Neteyam and Jeytiri. That excited me lITERALLY SO MUCH. The fast food au did start with only Tuk and Neteyam, and that’s juicy. We are forced to develop and explore relationships that are underdeveloped in canon and are harder to justify as instant sparks. You took away his natural in canon support systems so he has to learn to develop even faster with the other Sully's and that is a banger idea.

-W H E E L C H A I R J A K E. God I love wheelchair Jake aus, I love making them positive because I don’t like the way the first movie just fixed his disability. Give me Jake Sully being a positive disabled male father figure in his kids lives, just as present and happy and in love with his wife while paralyzed then he would be with mobility. What creative stuff has changed in their lives to accomidate? I need to know.

-He is indeed about to get the shit loved out of him, and that is what every Spider Sully writer says before writing their fic.

-Love the descriptions of how Spider feels when Norm’s body relaxes, just noting the way he backs off. So specific and accurate to any abused child. That tension and hypersensitivity to anyone's emotions, even people you implicitly trust, like never goes away.

-Norm thinking someone didn’t let Spider pee in the bathroom is so tragic and funny I feel bad for laughing. 

-Spider: heart palpitations upon seeing Neteyam

I am picturing Norm and Tuk in the back of a Burger King setting up an elaborate plan while Neteyam sighs and watches Spider from a booth while writing Neteyam Socorro on all of his notebooks.

-Also wow does Norm not know Spider’s dad was former military and he way not vibe with that at all?

-The way that Neteyam is still stalking Spider at McDonalds Or Burger King we can’t be sure. The mention of both places has sent me to space because it makes it seem like Spider used to work at McDonalds and then switched to Burger King and deeply obsessed stalker Neteyam Sully switched establishments to frequent.

-Spider’s fear of Tuk is hilarious and deeply sad, that is your bestie. 

-I LOVE love the idea of Kiri and Neteyam watching video essays. I love video essays, I wish my brothers did gOD. Also love a late night owl Neteyam head canon.

-Spider really is a wet rat. Have you ever actually seen a wet rat? The saying is so accurate. Kid was fed properly for the first time in years and then it killed him. Love kills Spider at first, as we have learned from all Spider Sully fics. He's like a dog eating chocolate, it's good, but at what cost.

BUT YOU ARE SO RIGHT THAT THE QUOTE APPLIES TO HAMUKO SO WELL like already the plot is so unfair that she has to protect the whole world but then you think about how atlus treats her and completely forgot about her for the remake and ahhhhhhhhh i get so sad i miss our girl so much she deserves everything ;o;

It genuinely makes me so fucking mad. the whole argument for a P3 remake should not be a visual update. < Which thats what it feels likem to me. We have three versions of Persona 3, each with its own Pros and Cons but more importantly each version of the game has content that the others are missing. People constantly argue about which version to play and instead of finally creating a definitive version, with the answer, with femc, with all of the bells and whistles that both protagonists deserve Atlus decided to essentially do a vanilla P3² again. For fucking WHAT?? just so that Atlus can do another re-release in a year called P3 Reload in Moonlight or w/e?? It makes me SOOO mad. Bc I obviously want a version where Hamuko has her own cutscenes 3D Models & 2D Animated and if they do add her in later or as a dlc then I would reward/endorse Atlus BS tactics. < Bc I would be tempted, I would be lying to myself If I said I wouldn't.

ha! you are probably not going to like this answer at all, but the best advice i have for someone with writer's block is to keep writing. that's honestly what i do, just content myself with writing poorly for a while until it becomes good again.

some quotes from a book on writing i'm currently reading that speak to me personally and are more like preaching at the choir than anything: "Simply put, the key to being a better writer is to write. […] Write like crap if you have to. But write every day. […] Don't write a lot. Just write often. […] Spending five hours on a Saturday writing isn't nearly as valuable as spending 30 minutes a day every day of the week."

i'm An Insane Person who treats writing much more like a discipline than an art. rp is not a job, that's true, but if you only write when ~the stars & muse align perfectly~ and you ~feel up to it~, you're going to find yourself in those slumps easily and often. that's my opinion on it, anyway.

for example, i've found that i rarely have the motivation to answer ooc asks like this one, and it results in these asks sitting in my inbox for long periods of time. so i've started to discipline myself and say, "ok 6-6:30pm every day is my Miscellaneous Writing time, where i force myself to write something that's not an rp reply for once." that's why you're finally seeing an answer to this ask. it's not bc i ~magically found the motivation~; it's bc i closed down all my other programs at 6pm and started writing it.

also, bc rp isn't a job, if you have a block with your rp replies in particular, consider dropping some stuff! if you just really really can't come up with an answer to a thread, there's no harm in pitching it in the bin, which is honestly something i need to get better at doing.

also from the book i'm reading, called everybody writes: your go-to guide to creating ridiculously good content, which is more about marketing but which i am reading to pick and choose stuff to apply to my own creative process… another suggestion i've seen is to put some distance between yourself and your work. spend an hour showering, cleaning, making food, w/e. whatever you need to do to clear your mind out a li'l bit. and then come back to it. "An hour with a clear mind is worth five hours of fog." and i've found that advice does help me, too. today, i didn't feel much up to writing, so i got up, did my laundry, and then came back to my word document and immediately spat out 500 words, which was much more productive than staring at my screen for 4 hours, slowly dribbling out a sentence at a time.

they're a really good friend of mine, and i'm glad i got to meet them! they're really good at plotting, and they have a lot of interesting muses / stories that they put a lot of effort into, and i don't think they have enough followers tbh! our muse dynamics are never a miss, and they've got such a colorful cast that there's a little something there for everybody, and i think it's kind of a shame that so much of the rpc is sleeping on them

“Uh- daddy? Where are you?” Fave called out into the yellow, creepy hallways. Did she get lost again? Not exactly. See, this time, it wasn’t her fault, The studios’ embodiment of Satan himself decided to just disappear out of thin fucking air.

For once, Ink here changed. From what was a 7 feet monster, came down to… 3 feet? Hard to tell.

Finally, his eyes could be seen. Toon eyes, a small bow and gloves, nothing like his other form, the terrifying one. He looked more… approachable.

He peered out from behind a corner, where he was in Fave’s line of sight. Small and tubby, he clumsily approached Fave. Fave, noticing the small movement from slightly in front of her, widened her eyes out of curiosity. She was wary of the creature, of course, from her dad’s words to “trust no one”.

Would she go against it? Maybe. It’s a close “maybe” to a definite “yes”. But she understood why he was so wary.

Right, I’m straying.

Well, the small toon peered at Fave from a distance, neither of them moving. He was harmless, in this form, at least.

Shakily, Fave asked, “You’re not… gonna hurt me, are you?”

The toon shook his head, showing he meant no harm.

Still afraid, Fave took hesitant steps towards him. Slowly, she inched towards the rather small toon, who stood there, bravely, since, well, what was there to be afraid of? She’s a fucking child, why- why would he even fear-

Point was, he never budged.

Fave finally approached him, with a certain level of caution. When she finally came to the conclusion that he had no intentions of harming her, she let down her guard and let the little guy come closer to her.

She was rather small, but Bendy was a little shorter than her, his head tilted up when looking at her, it was different now. Bendy surely wasn’t used to this angle, usually he would be the one much, much taller than her, but now where was he? Head up, it made his neck feel weird. He wasn’t used to looking upwards at anyone, honestly.

He was deep in thought, when a sudden small pair of arms wrapped around his small figure.

Yeah, this was definitely very weird. Her arms would not even be able to fully wrap around his leg, and here she was, hugging his entire body.

A little freaked out, he hesitantly returned the display of affection, awkwardly patting her back.

Sensing the small bit of awkwardness between them, Fave pulled away, but he latched onto her.

He was never a clinger, but maybe just this once, he could let it slide.

Smiling, Fave once again started to hug him, so he wouldn’t feel (too) awkward again. God damn, she was sweet.

The cartoon in her arms wanted to lick her, it was his Ink Demon instincts, I guess. Honestly, no one knows what goes on inside the poor dude’s mind. Lick her? No, that’s weird, that’s only for his demonic side. What- bite her? Ouch. Uh- kiss her? No idea.

To be fair, he… doesn’t have lips. Neither are his teeth very, well, you know. Easing? Calming? You get my point.

He gently pressed his lips against her soft cheek, giving it a quick kiss. Fave found it adorable, and squeezed him a little tighter. After getting the hang of it, he kissed her again, repeatedly. It was like licking her repeatedly.

As new as this was to the little girl, she lacked affection. I mean, she did receive some, but there was only so much she could get inside a cold, depressing studio and a demon for a dad.

Thus, she accepted it all, giggling softly with each feathery kiss.

This was no longer the Ink Demon, it was Bendy. In this state, at least.

Alas, all good things must come to an end… or whatever that quote is.

“YOU LITTLE BRAT! GET OVER HERE!” A shrill voice shrieked from behind Fave.

Oh, not that bitch again.

Guess who it was. Guess, I dare you.

Right, it’s Alice, the whore (if you read my last fic on this AU).

Bendy pushed himself out of Fave’s arms, begrudgingly. Growling lowly, he started to return back into his other form, and no, I will not give you the details. Fave just sat there… questioning whatever the fuck just happened. The adorable toon was her father? No freaking way.

Upon seeing the demon, Alice knew she fucked up and fled. Pussy.

“You’re the little guy?” Fave was really surprised, as you can see.

The demon nodded.

“Why did you kiss me?” She asked.

“Well, those small teeth can’t eat you so that was… a taste test.” His response was weird.

“I don’t believe you.” Fave grinned, completely seeing through him.

Oh well. The demon better have better lies next time then.
