Him (Them)
( So I decided 'fuck it' pitch pearl babyyy, I've seen other people do this ship and decided well why the hell not right. Anyways have fun!)
~
Phantom and his council were finally in the end processes to a peace treaty with Earth,
As years went on from what was once only the USA with their Ecto-Acts got worse. The GIW began opening in other countries without them truly realizing what they were allowing, until the Infinity Realms were at the point of declaring war on all of Earth itself.
The only reason that managed not to happen was because of Phantom finally being able to contact the Justice League and sit them down to have an actual conversation about everything that was going on.
That's where they were right now the world leaders, the 3 founders of the JL , and High King Phantom with his council arguing back and forth the peace treaty.
Phantom turned as one of the men stood up
" And just how are we supposed to truly trust you and yours to not take over or cause harm to our people?"
Others began chiming in, arguing that there was no true guarantee in what Phantom was saying.
Until a voice towards the back called out an idea
" Marriage! To truly unite our worlds in peace King Phantom must marry one of our own!"
Phantom subtly tensed the idea of a loveless marriage to a complete stranger made his core tremble with rage.
He glanced around seeing the looks of the people around him, he saw their greed for his power and status, their point for the marriage would be to control him or at least give them an advantage.
Phantom tuned out the arguing between the JL and the rest.
Thinking of what to say to get out of this situation without risking the treaty.
Snapping back to attention holding back a sharp smirk.
" Gentlemen if what you fear is the safety of your people then do not fret I have protected and saved your people and world since my creation, as for your request of a marriage to unify our world then I have wonderful news for I am already married to one of your people and even have children with him."
Phantom looked at the shocked faces around him, a couple grimacing or frowning at their missed opportunity to have control and access to him by one of their chosen.
A rather stupid man for what else could he be with what he said next.
" Then divorce him and marry someone that we find more suitable!"
Phantom's form distorted around him as he processed what he had just heard.
" Divorce? You wish for me to Divorce my husband, the one who I cherish above all else, the one I have shared my core the very being of myself with. The one who I gave my very being and soul to create our children. The one who is half my being, the one who if not for him we wouldn't be speaking at this moment because it was only his word that kept me from declaring war on your world."
"Make no mistake I do wish for peace between our worlds, many of my people are from this world and would like to continue to stay or visit especially for their loved ones, and I would like that for them without the danger of being hunted and torn apart."
"For if I wished war your planet would not stand a chance for what is a few million of your soldiers compared to my infinite soldiers that only would continue to grow as yours died."
"For him I fought and won against the previous tyrant King for daring to to cause him pain, the very King who only was defeated previously by the combined efforts of the strongest in the Infinite Realms, The very same King I defeated alone."
"So please do continue talking against my husband."
"..."
"What is his name?"
"Danny Fenton."

Play Nice on the Ice
Jason Todd x Reader
Jason Todd had always been a fighter. Through and through, birth to death to rebirth- he never stopped fighting. It was in his blood, his very being, down to the bones that kept him upright. Or the bones that kept him squatting here.
Jason dropped his knee to the ice to catch the hockey puck from flying into the goal. The arena erupted into cheers and applause before quickly quieting down. The other players stopped the play and skated back to their positions. Jason stood, threw the puck to the referee, and finally let a breath loose. His annoyance climbed slowly. It started during the pre-game debrief, yet his bones seemed to weigh heavier with it as the periods carried on. He was restless for action, which made no sense considering ice hockey was considered to be one of the most physically demanding and extensive sports. He guessed he just did not like being the goalie.
It was your idea to get into ice hockey. You read one or two books about hockey romances and basically begged Jason to give it a try. He relented after reading a few chapters of the books himself. You made it easy for him and found a good place to start. This small recreational league created a competitive atmosphere for men of all ages to play: mostly former convicts and drug addicts, or just people from Gotham who needed an outlet or needed to spend community team doing something productive. Hitting other men against a plexiglass screen, skating on blades of steel on an ice rink was surely productive one way or the other. The team Jason joined was no different. At their first meeting, he explained he was simply working through anger issues, a sentiment easily shared amongst his new teammates. The big, bad, bat even agreed with the decision with a fervor Jason could have only described as giddy. An outlet for violence, a redirection of anger, maybe someone could knock some sense into him, good exercise, and a few other points that Bruce had listed while writing a check to cover the whole teams’ expenses under a Wayne Enterprise’s donation. The coach had cried for hours when he brought the check during the next practice. It was a sweet gesture.
Jason propped up his goalie mask and squirted some water into his mouth from the bottle on top of the net. The water was cold compared to the heat from the gear and his sweat, the ice barely cooling him down. He placed the bottle back on the net before surveying the ice rink once again. The audience cheered and screamed, many fans hitting the glass with their fists or palms. Most of his teammates skidded into position while one guy in particular stayed glued to someone from the opposing team. From Jason’s team, the man was tonight’s left defender, a primary enforcer. Jason’s frown deepened.
Due to the small nature of the league, players were encouraged to try all the positions: center, left and right wing, left and right defense, and goalie. Goalie was apparently the easiest to learn for newbies, but Jason’s favorite turned out to be either of the defensive positions. Body checking in hockey gear was the same, if not more fun than doing it to a Joker henchman in his tactical Red Hood gear. He could get away with most of his hits, as the referees gave a bit of wiggle room to play and didn’t penalize too often. And Jason argued that all of his hits were legal. You were always the first one to tell him otherwise. He had a few cheap shots. He liked to use his weight and size against some of the smaller men; it was easy to throw a few punches or check an opposing player with his massive body. The coach had basically salivated at the mere sight of Jason walking through the arena doors at the small recreational league orientation. You would be visibly angry, but Jason always liked to watch you squirm as you relayed the plays back to him. A glint in your eyes when talking about his strength. Some nights after a game got hot enough to melt away an entire rink of ice if Jason got you talking about it long enough. He’d have to find those romance authors and thank them for the additional ideas.
At the thought of you, he checked on your seat. You were standing up, soda can in one hand while the other beat against the glass. Tim was seated beside you, an indifferent look plastered on his smug little face. You always found a seat next to his team’s bench. The brainiac was your second favorite bird, so Jason tolerated him a little more often. He was a welcome companion for tonight’s game. You went to every single game. Your relationship with Jason budded years ago; the Red Hood collapsing on your fire escape kick-started the friendship that turned into something much more. Friendly punches and awkward conversations that blossomed into soft touching and lingering hands. Jason was grateful for you in many ways. You liked to watch him destress while playing. After the first few games, the two of you had discussed in depth how it truly was a good outlet of frustrations. All you asked from him during his hockey endeavors was that he try his best to keep all his teeth. You liked his smile, and the pearly whites were essential for his looks. Among other non-mentionables.
His previous fighting had landed him in this position tonight. A goalie wasn’t allowed to fight, and his team had been fined well enough to last a lifetime- no thanks to Jason and his cheap shots. Thank goodness Bruce had a few lifetimes worth of money.
Earlier at the debrief, the coach shoved the goalie gear into Jason’s hands. That’s where his annoyance started to bubble. “You get to play nice tonight. For once.” Coach had said.
Jason slammed his hockey stick against the ice impatiently. The left defender was still trash talking the opposing player. The defender was on parole for laundering money, a non-violent sort of guy.
Jason’s hockey career started a little over six months ago, and as it turned out, he was naturally built for this sport. His stature, his quick-thinking, and his training as Robin did wonders for a contact sport like this. Who would have thought that punching a few villains at night would equate to a premier international sport sensation. Jason’s Red Hood duties had been pushed to a minimum during that time, too. He spent more hours practicing on the ice than he did hunting down lowlifes from Gotham’s underbelly. Nightwing took over his jurisdiction, focusing heavily on the docks. Jason was able to provide Dick with a few pieces of information he had heard from his fellow teammates when he learned something worth mentioning.
There’s a commotion and a few whistles burst through the air. Roars erupted again from the audience. Across the rink, the left defender threw down his gloves to shove the opposing team member’s face into the ice. There were shouts and a few other fights broke out as the referees tried their hardest to break up the seven or eight men now at each other’s throats. With each swing, more and more fans stood from their seats to enjoy the chaos. Jason would have been content watching the mayhem from his corner of the world at the goal. Would have been. He would have been until his eyes caught an opposing jersey making its way to his team’s bench.
The guy was tall but lanky; a right wing from this Metropolis team that had no business going to Gotham’s bench. He looked to be older, but most of these guys were. Jason’s blood boiled at what the lanky kid did next. He slid next to the bench to you. At the angle from across the box, he had direct access to speak to you. Even from the distance, Jason could tell that the guy was attempting to flirt with you. You were too kind a soul- you were only nodding your head with a fake smile that the creep thought was genuine. Jason would have to teach Tim about scaring other men away from you in the future.
Jason slammed his hockey stick to the ground, banging it again and again demanding attention. The only one he grabbed was yours. In any other scenario, that would have been sufficient. Not now. Not when a stranger is taking advantage of the fighting chaos to flirt with a fan. A fan that was solely Jason’s. His person. His. Something greater than jealousy rumbled in his veins, propelling the man into action. He had been itching for a fight. It sucked that he was placed as a goalie instead of the left defense like he wanted.
Your eyes tracked Jason the entire time he skated across the ice. One of the referees attempted to grab Jason before another fight could break out, but he easily pushed the ref aside. The roar in his ears drowned out the echoes from the crowd around you.
“Hey!” He screamed. The guy ignored him. Creep had the audacity to reach for you to grab your attention. Jason was always a fighter. A lover too, but a fighter through and through. And now his time had come.
Jason skidded to a halt next to the lowlife, kicking up shaved ice into his face. The man spun on his skates to glare directly at him. Finally, Jason got his attention. He felt on fire: fueled and heated on his steel blades despite the frost beneath them. The man scowled at Jason, rolled his eyes, and held a hand up as if to placate the goalie. Jason didn’t give him time to explain. He threw a punch so quickly that even the Demon Brat would have been proud.
Tim shot from his seat with whoops and hollers. “Kick his ass, Jason!” Tim screamed. You squawked in response. “No, no more ass kicking! Quit it! Goalies don’t fight, you idiot!” “This one does!” Tim yelled again, hitting the glass and punching the air with his fists.
Jason’s punches were met with some thrown by the other player. He could have played dirty, but Jason kept it clean and didn’t throw his entire weight behind each one. Until, that is, the player finally got a good hit right square on Jason’s chin that knocked his head back. His vision blurred for what felt like seconds too long. When his sight returned, so did a vengeance. Jason didn’t hold back his weight when he laid out the guy in two swift hooks. By this time, the entire arena was on their feet. The Gotham team was pulling Jason back by his jersey, now stained red with blood that belonged to multiple people. Jason’s screams matched and overlapped with players and fans. The Metropolis team pulled back their own player and retreated to their bench. The referees were speaking animatedly with both coaches. A team wide fight in a recreational league was unprecedented, and Jason was sure Bruce would be called about this. Perhaps another check would be written.  Consequences be damned. That was fun.
Jason was thrown unceremoniously on to the bench along with a water bottle and a towel. As he attempted to wash some of the blood out of his mouth, he caught you staring with that mischievous glint in your eyes. Despite how you felt about him fighting, your features were still lit with a smile as you watched him. Jason loved the feeling. Probably loved the feeling of your eyes on him more than he loved fighting. He definitely loved fighting for you. Jason mirrored your smile as he wiped the sweat, ice, and blood off his face. Your smile had dropped, a scowl slowly forming as the adoration transformed into something a little less happy. He frowned and went to lick his teeth in annoyance. His own smile dropped as his tongue ran along his teeth. Dammit. One of his front teeth was missing.

Tumblr media
This was ridiculous. Shigaraki had to be out of his goddamn mind if he thought a girl like you could benefit the League in a meaningful way. You weren’t cut out for this – Dabi could see that in an instant. Back at the gambling hall, he had only caught glimpses of your abilities, but he was certain you wouldn’t be able to keep up. Recruiting you was like tossing a bunny rabbit in with a pack of ravenous wolves. They would eat you alive. He watched you make your introductions with the rest of the League, scrutinizing your every move. Pretty little thing. Soft features and curves – all smiles and sarcasm. No substance.
There was no way you’d last a week. Let alone long enough to repay your debt.
Thanks to Twice’s disastrous Overhaul introduction, the LOV was short one member and Mr. Compress was out for the count until he could get a new arm. Having fresh meat on board wouldn’t be too bad. That’s why they visited the casino in the first place: recruitment. However, the raid had thrown their plans into disarray. You showing up to mess with the cops definitely helped but, at the end of the day, you were nothing special. They needed frontline fighters. You were a disaster waiting to happen. Not exactly what they were looking for.
“Shigaraki –” Dabi called, motioning for the other man to move out of earshot of the others. As soon as he was certain no one was paying attention to them, he leaned in close and continued. “Let me test ‘em,” he grumbled – nodding his head in your direction.
“C’mon, Dabi…” their leader protested half-heartedly, rolling his crimson eyes at his companion’s overly cautious attitude. Tomura really wasn’t in the mood to argue right now. Not after all the shit they just went through. “What makes you think she’s not a good fit?”
“Look at her.” Dabi deadpanned. “She looks like a fucking pastry. Sweet and fragile. We gotta know what we’re dealing with here. Didn’t you have beef with some other villains? Let me take her to them – see what she can do.”
Shigaraki pressed a thoughtful finger to his lips as his eyes landed on you. Dabi had a point. You didn’t exactly look like the part of the evil villain. As far as he was aware, you could have been bluffing about your Quirk. They knew nothing about you – other than that you had hilariously humiliated those loser Heroes at the casino. Still, those guys were small fry compared to what the League was facing now. If Shigaraki wanted to get even with the Shie Hassaikai he would need strong allies. Whether or not you were one remained to be seen. Dabi was a harsh judge. Maybe this was the perfect opportunity to find out.
“Alright,” he agreed, giving Dabi an affirmative nod. “Take her downtown. There’s a group of thugs who leaked our info to Overhaul’s men.” Shigaraki pulled out his phone and quickly typed up the address. “Make them pay, rough ‘em up – and find out what she’s capable of.”
“You got it, boss –” Dabi checked the location. A warehouse. Remote – most likely abandoned. A grin tugged at the corner of his lips. He’d be able to test your mettle and the authorities would be none the wiser. This was perfect.
Time to give you a proper introduction and grill you a little. Just for fun.
Dabi strolled up and inserted himself between you and Toga. He slung an arm over your shoulder and pulled you close. The other girl protested but his icy glare was enough to send her slinking off to join the others quietly. In contrast, the grin Dabi was giving you struck you as dangerously venomous.
Just what was he up to?
“Hey, Lucky –” he started, “the name’s Dabi – you and me are going for a ride first thing tomorrow.” His finger shamelessly dipped into the hem of your neckline, giving it a small tug and allowing it to snap back. “I suggest you get some more tactical clothing cuz this get-up you’re sporting isn’t gonna cut it where we’re going.” Oh – the way you blushed when at his touch was delightful. What a peach.
Yeah – he was gonna enjoy breaking you in.
“I have a name. It’s (Y/n).” This Lucky-shit better not stick around – you hated being called that. Bastard. He seemed so very pleased with himself for making you uncomfortable – it was pissing you off. You shrugged his arm off your shoulder dismissively, glaring as he chuckled and raised his hands in mock surrender. There was no way this charmer was getting off the hook so easily: you hadn’t forgotten the shit he pulled earlier. For now, though, you decided to play nice. “Sending me on a mission that quickly – what’s this about?”
“Trial by fire, newbie. I’m gonna find out just how lucky you are.”
Tumblr media
Aside from asking about the mission details, you didn’t talk much – but Dabi did notice you glaring at him every now and then.
It was hard not to. Your face seemed to be permanently stuck in a seething expression. Sure, being forced to join the League wasn’t a walk in the park – but most villains would be thrilled to gain some notoriety. It came with the territory. Reputation could get you a long way in this world. Considering how many recruits Dabi had turned into burn marks on the pavement, you should consider yourself – well, lucky.
You walked by his side, keeping pace as you made your way toward the rendezvous point. Despite your reservations with the man, you had listened to his advice – leaving the cocktail dress at home for the day. You really, really didn’t need him getting a free show of your sexy bits if you happened to get into a fight. The memory of his finger on your collarbone kept replaying in your mind – which incidentally was why you kept glaring at him. Among other things.
“Your face is gonna get stuck like that, grumpy. Lighten up, will you?” he said, unable to suppress a grin at your pouty expression. “If we’re gonna start teaming up, ya might as well get used to lookin’ at me.”
“Not the biggest fan of my current company,” you admitted. “Can’t say I’m looking forward to working with the guy who left me for dead yesterday. Do you know how many cops were on my ass? I’m still picking glass from my hair.”
Dabi barked out a laugh. “You still sore about that, babe? So that’s why you were being such a sourpuss.” He could have guessed. His first impression hadn’t exactly been a favorable one. Still – that was hardly Dabi’s most pressing concern right now. “I told you: it was nothin’ personal. Crusty said to block the exit, so I did. You were just collateral.”
“It’s not fair. I tried to help you and you let me take the fall. I mean – yeah, you’re villains, but did you have to be dicks about it?”
He shrugged. “Life’s not fair, sweet thing – the sooner you get used to that, the sooner we’ll start getting along.”
You sighed. This was going to be a long fucking day, wasn’t it?
Tumblr media
You couldn’t have been more right.
The thugs you were sent to dispatch were pussies but the sheer number of them was overwhelming. Dabi was no help. Intentionally, you reckoned. This was your test after all. He spent most of the fight up high – away from the action as you barreled towards certain doom.
Your confidence was admirable. Stupid and reckless – but admirable nonetheless.
Improvised weapons were one of your favorite things to use in a fight. In this case, you’d gotten your hands on a rusty lead pipe. A crude-looking thing. Heavy and wide enough to do some serious damage to human skulls and kneecaps. Perfect for dispatching a pack of low-lifes, really. At first, Dabi thought you were nothing but a bumbling buffoon, stumbling from one disaster into another. He expected you to go down in the first five minutes of the fight but you were still standing. More than that, you were actually pretty good. Someone must have trained you.
After a while, Dabi started to notice a pattern. What seemed like utter chaos was actually far more contained. Every slip-up you made actually worked in your favor. It was almost comical how you skid across the ground – slipping between the legs of one of your attackers to emerge on the other side and crack the pipe against the back of his head. You could influence your luck but its effect was dependent on what you had to work with. Objects, people – anything you could touch was fair game. If he were to put you in an empty room, for instance, Dabi figured nothing would happen. You simply wouldn’t have anything to influence. The way he understood it, Luck was better suited for defense which is why you had invested time in combat training. There was potential in you – Dabi could see that now. Guess Shigaraki was right – maybe you could earn their respect just yet.
With the loud crack of bone and groaning cartilage, you brought the pipe down on a thug's knee. He howled in anguish, dropping to the ground like a cement brick. “Hey hotshot –!” you called out. Dabi perked up – snapping out of his thoughts. “Can you get down here already?”
“This gettin’ too much for you?” the villain questioned – descending from his metal scaffolding perch by sliding down the rafters. “You can say it’s too much, I won’t snitch to the boss – pinkie promise.” He jumped the last gap and wasted no time catching up, ducking past oncoming attacks to reach your side with one quick sprint.
“It’s not that.” You rolled your eyes, taking a moment to wipe the blood from the pipe on your jeans. “I’ve never taken on this many guys at once –”
“Yeah – I bet,” Dabi smirked, positioning himself to cover you as the thugs regrouped for a counterattack. “You look like a real good girl with that pipe in your hands.”
You shouldn’t have laughed – but you did. “Shut. up. Fuck me – you’re unbearable.” For the first time today, you didn’t sound all that pissed off. Rather, amused. Almost like you were actually having a good time despite the circumstances. Dabi took note of that, eyeing the smile you were so desperately trying to hide from him.
So you did have a sense of humor after all.
He felt you press your back against his to make sure no one could take advantage of your flank – surveying the remaining pawns on the field. The rest of the fight was an outright slaughter. Your opponents didn’t stand a chance once the two of you were actually working together. The matter was settled within minutes – blue flames sweeping up whatever bloody bits you and your trusty pipe had left behind. When the dust had settled, you and Dabi were the only ones left standing. Breathless but unscathed.
“Not bad, newbie –” Dabi admitted, reaching up to ruffle the top of your head. “Guess I was wrong about you. You’ve got spunk. One more thing –”
“What – is there a written exam too?”
“No –” Dabi laughed, shaking his head. “Just a question, that’s all.” You know – maybe this guy wasn’t so bad after all. He was kind of tolerable when you were actually on the same team. “Don’t get me wrong – you kicked ass just now but – how’d a pretty little thing like you end up like this?”
“Like what?”
“A villain.”
You became quiet then. There was something there. Behind your eyes. A sadness. Anger – a festering resentment. Dabi could see it all. He knew those feelings intimately. Still – you shrugged and tossed the lead pipe into the grass – pretending the question didn’t bother you. You were a good actress but Dabi saw right through you.
“Life’s not fair,” you quoted him. “I got used to it.” He wasn’t satisfied with your less-than-masterful deflection, you could see that clear as day. Regardless, Dabi didn’t seem interested in pressing you for an answer. For that, you were grateful. That was a can of worms you weren’t willing to pop open with a stranger just yet. Maybe one day you’d be able to talk about what happened – for now, you settled for quietly boiling yourself alive with these feelings.
Dabi, for his part, only concluded one thing from your conversation: you had motivation. Something every member of the League needed. That was enough for now.

A/N: Heheheheh Dabi you black cat of a bastard. We're gonna get some actual bonding in the next chapter but the crumbs have been strewn 👀The next chapter does need HEAVY editing, so that one will take a while to come out

Within The Limits (Ben Chilwell x Jenson Button x OC)
Author's note: NEW SERIES BABES! I missed writing a full story, given that I always delete and redo my short fics, so this will be a probably 10-15 part story (if there's more, time will tell). This duo is very random, compared to the Mason x Carlos one I did last time, but I love these guys so much, so it was worth the shot. I hope you enjoy!
Summary: Chelsea Winster is a double working reporter for Sky sports F1 and the Premier League. At the ripe age of 25 she's surrounded herself with people who love and appreciate her (some more than others), that's how the former world champion Jenson Button got wrapped around her finger. But little does she know that an England senior and Chelsea player will step up his game just to see her smile. Who will she choose? Double trouble is fun but not when it comes to heart matters.
Warnings: nsfw content will be included, each chapter will get a warning so don’t worry, lots of swearing, intensity, age gap, fluff (of course)
next chapter
“Can you stop eye fucking Jenson for a minute? It’s as polite as I can ask you” Lissie nudges me with her elbow and I shake my head, coming back to reality.
“Sorry. Force of habit” I blurt out without realizing and Lissie slaps her hand on her mouth, shutting it.
“Oh my god. I don’t wanna know. Let’s just move on” she says and we focus back on the qualifying session that is currently taking place.
For some reason, qualifying for the British Grand Prix is always more thrilling than in any other race. Maybe neck to neck with Brazil but that’s because in both countries the weather is unpredictable, like the results.
Lissie works for the F1 network, while I for Sky Sports so most of the times at qualifying or free practice, I get to hang out with her since everyone else is in the comment box.
The one time I was in the commentary box with Crofty, Martin, Jenson and Nico, I almost confused Max with Checo and was about to announce Checo as the poleman instead of Max. That’s because I was heavily influenced by the way Jenson’s veins were showing around his muscled arms. Ever since that day, I refuse to step my foot inside there ever again.
Another reason why I try but fail to keep a distance from Jenson is that every time we are alone, we somehow end up in the back of a dark room, kissing like teenagers and making out until I can’t feel my legs anymore. Let’s just say that’s a detail no one knows. Not even Lissie. But I’m sure she’s suspected something given that in the space of an hour I showed up with a hickie on my neck.
I’m not afraid to admit that yes, I am into older men as well. Mostly the ones with brown hair and stupidly cute blue eyes, twice my age and 2009 world champion with Brawn, currently holding a microphone and analyzing how it’s impossible for the Ferrari’s to be on pole.
“I domt can’t tell whether you’re looking at the right side of the screen or left. Do you even pay attention to who is about to get eliminated?” Lissie snaps her fingers in front of my eyes.
“I can do multiple things at the same time. And yes, I’m looking both ways, what’s wrong with that?” I reply but now my attention turns to my friend.
“I seriously don’t get how you can be into older men instead of youngsters. Like, almost week in-week out in England, you’re surrounded by 44 handsome gentlemen and you’re telling me you only have eyes for Jenson?”
“Maybe. I mean, come on, look at him! He doesn’t compare to those boys in the Prem. Plus, half of them are perverts and others have girlfriends or wives. Jenson is single and I spend most of my time in the paddock with him”
“Have you at least told your loverboy that they are sending you for almost full-time at the Prem? He’ll miss you but not more than me” Lissie gives me a big smile and I hug her.
“He’ll find out when he sees me commenting alongside Micah Richards or Gary Neville. Plus, I think for some reason, they’ve assigned me to commentate most of Chelsea’s game and I don’t know if that has to do something with my name” oh the irony. My dad’s favorite team is Chelsea so when he and mum found out they were having a girl it was the perfect opportunity for him.
“Oh lucky! All of the hotties play for Chelsea. Well, used to, but some of them are still there. Like Ben Chilwell. A fine Englishman and champions league winner. What more than that?” She winks at my playfully and I roll my eyes with her comment.
"Not my cup of tea, L. Plus, all of them are arrogant assholes go just pose when the camera points at them." I do like football, I swear, it's the players that get on my nerves. Such divas.
"As if f1 drivers aren't snob and attention seekers?"
"Well, they have a sense of humanity and logicality. Driving the fastest cars alive, risking their lives, abandoning family and friends to travel the world just to entertain others. Footballers injure themselves and then take 2 months trip to the Bahamas."
"Remind me again why did they assign you to the Prem?" Lissie is amused with my ideas that she's been scratching her head the entire time.
"For banter, maybe?" I shrug
"Oh those poor boys, the things you will be telling them after the games."
____________________________________________________________
"Oh the way I knew that you couldn't get your eyes off the screen for even a second, satisfies me massively" Jenson whispers in my ear and I could faint right this instant moment.
"How can I? Especially when you are there. All bossy and classy simultaneously, explaining how the sport works better than anyone else" I smirk devilishly behind the crook of his neck.
"I still don't know for what reason you are attracted to me? My looks? My knowledge? Or my insanely good driving skills?" his hand lands on my thigh, caressing it up and down softly.
"All of the three" I sigh as I feel the hand going more upwards and uneasiness rushes over my body.
"Why so flushed darling? Does my hand on your thigh have this strong effect on you?" his lips kiss my jawline and a soft groan escapes my mouth.
"Oh I will miss this" I say as I hold on firmly to Jenson’s bicep and tighten my grasp around it.
“I’m not going anywhere dear, what are you talking about?” A small peck lands on my lips and I feel my lower lip being sucked by him.
I stop at my tracks and kiss Jenson sweetly before removing myself away from his lap, so I can tell him the truth about my job.
“I need you to be calm, m’kay?”
“I don’t understand. Is something wrong?” He looks worried and stressed.
“I’m being transferred. For the next two years I will be working full time in England.” I say out loud and it sounds like fake.
“Why? What? How? I mean, uh. Explain a bit further, please.”
“You know that I work for both the Premier League and F1. Well, Sky Sports decided to transfer me for two years back in England so I can commentate on the games and then they’ll decide where I will be permanently settled.”
“So that means I’m losing you? You’re not going to be around anymore?”
“Whenever there’s a weekend that I am free and F1 happens to be on, I will join you, just not as a commentator. I really hate that this has to happen”
I truly do hate it. For the past 4 years my life was about an airplane, no sleep, fast cars, statistics and Jenson. Now it will be 22 men kicking the ball for 90 minutes straight.
“I’ll come for visits too. Don’t think you’ll get rid of me that easily baby” he hugs my waist and grabs me back onto his lap.
“I wasn’t planning on it JB. Trust me.”

i. biography. ii. statistics. iii. connections.
NAME / Saul Elisha Weissberg AGE / 52, born on November 23rd, 1971 GENDER & PRONOUNS / Cis man, he/him. ORIENTATION / Bisexual MARITAL STATUS / Single, divorced x3 HOMETOWN / Manhattan, New York City, New York RESIDENCE / Oak Gardens, Blue Harbor, Illinois as of 2021 OCCUPATION / Family Law Attorney specializing in divorce at the Weissberg Law Firm
SUMMARY,
trigger warnings — parental death, drugs mention.
Grew up in a very successful family with two parents and a twin brother. The lineage of the Weissbergs includes many doctors, lawyers, professors, and even a senator or two. That meant Saul had a lot to live up to, which he initially flouted until his father’s death in 1987. After the loss of his father, Saul started to take his future seriously and studied as hard as he could to be accepted into an ivy league school. (Honestly, his family members could’ve bought him into any of them, but he wanted to be accepted on his own merit.)
His hard work paid off and that ivy league school ended up being Columbia University. Out on his own in Manhattan, Saul developed a work hard, play hard philosophy. It was early ‘90s New York City and the c*caine was a-plenty, so you can imagine just how hard Saul played. The only problem was that his brother wasn’t with him, but they needed some independence from each other (and Levi probably didn’t want to witness his twin brother be a ho anyway).
Though he didn’t grow up in a conservative hellhole, at least not as much as compared to other cities in the early nineties, Manhattan was the first time Saul was allowed to experiment not only with drugs and alcohol, but with women and men. All bets were off for Saul, but he still somehow managed to graduate from Columbia with honors and a promising future.
From Columbia University to Columbia Law School: Saul wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and be an attorney just like dad. Family Law particularly interested him due to the amount of money divorce lawyers could earn, and well, he likes to know the tea™ so it seemed a perfect fit. He graduated with a juris doctor, a new wife, and an infant son.
Saul was a natural born shark at his job and a burgeoning workaholic, which led to the failure of his first marriage. Katie took their son, Micah, and moved to the suburbs to raise him in a more stable environment. Saul became a weekends and holidays dad, too busy with work to devote Micah with the attention he needed. As much as Saul loved his son, it was for the best. He learned that he wasn’t suited to be a family man, so when he met his second wife, he stressed he didn’t want to have any more children… unfortunately, all she wanted was a baby, so his second marriage ended in flames just the same.
All of his hard work paid off. He made partner at thirty-two, had more money than he could dream of, a son that idolized him (though Saul didn’t deserve it), and could count himself among the many successful Weissberg men before him. He still believed in the work hard, play hard philosophy, but as he grew older, the nightclubs and dive bars turned into charity galas and country clubs. The people of New York thought of him as sophisticated and Saul earned the reputation of a cutthroat divorce attorney that represented Real Housewives and rich ex-wives.
He loved his life in Manhattan. He loved his job, he loved his rent-controlled penthouse apartment, he certainly loved the money, and even loved the dirty streets of New York. There was no one in the world that was going to convince him to leave. Until, of course, ex-wife the third. They had been married for a few years, (somewhat) happily, but her older sister had moved back to their hometown of Blue Harbor, Illinois. After that, his wife would not stop begging Saul to move out west.
Though he was happy with his life in Manhattan, there were things he wanted to change; he had mentioned the idea of starting his own firm a few times, and it might be nice to live in an actual house where his son might bring grandchildren one day. (Really, he had been living in apartments since George H.W. Bush had been in office!) All facts that his wife exploited in her begging, naturally. Plus, it would make her happy. Happy wife, happy life—despite the thirty long career with evidence to the contrary.
Eventually, he relented, and the couple came to Blue Harbor in January 2021. Unfortunately, their marriage barely survived the move, and didn’t survive him opening his own firm. His work was supposed to be lessened by moving out to Blue Harbor, expecting a lighter workload with a smaller city, but starting his firm made him busier than ever. His wife was happy to be home, but unhappy with her avoidant husband and with her sister constantly in her ear, telling her to leave him. They divorced in late 2022, more acrimoniously than his second wife, but less than his first.
Saul considered going back to Manhattan now that his marriage had ended, constantly complaining about the mountain air and lack of culture and friendly people, but ultimately decided to stay. Having just started his firm, it was successful but still needed room to grow, and he just bought a house in Summit Lake with the intention to retire in ten years. There was really no other choice, he had to stay in Illinois.
So, that’s what Saul has been doing for the past three years—growing his business from out under the shadow of Heller & Co, trying to avoid his ex-wife around town, and causing as much chaos as he possibly can to entertain himself.
PERSONALITY,
Let’s get this straight upfront: Saul is a messy, messy bitch. He enjoys nothing more than gossiping with the old ladies in town and having his nose in everyone’s business. If you have something going on in your life, he wants to know about it AND give his opinion!!
He is as greedy as he is messy, too. He loves nothing more than making money, having the judge rule in his client’s favor, and wearing designer suits. Unfortunately, his firm is still young, and with (stinky 😝) Heller & Co in town long before Saul moved to town, he’s got a long way to go before his firm is truly successful.
He’s got a natural charm to him that some people percieve as smarmy, others find it attractive. He’s good for a good time, even in his fifties, and while he can be irritating at times, he can also be really funny so no one has murdered him for being annoying yet.
Despite the three failed marriages, he’s a good person to have in your corner as a client or as a friend—he’s a lawyer, there’s nothing he loves more than to win, and if he needs to, he’ll give a verbal lashing like you wouldn’t believe. To put it plainly, he’s a better friend than a husband.
Somehow, he keeps convincing people to marry him. When he wants to be, he can loving and seductive, but he’s emotionally distant and unserious by default. His three decade long career should stop him from ever wanting to get married, but he did genuinely love all three wives at some point in his life. (He was also only ever married to women because it wasn’t legal to marry any of his boyfriends at the time, so maybe he’ll trade in wife #4 for husband #1?) He views himself as a hopeful—but realistic—romantic.
CONNECTIONS,
specific connections,
HIS EX-WIFE / Thalia Clark-Weissberg, or maybe back to Clark now, is the most recent ex-wife of Saul. Their marriage ended mostly ambicably, but there’s still some open wounds between the two.
HIS SON / Micah Weissberg (name can be changed) is the only known child of Saul. Their relationship is fraught because Saul and Katie divorced when Micah was very young and she moved Micah out to the suburbs to be raised away from the chaos of the city. Saul wasn’t a very present father, but Micah followed the family tradition to be a lawyer, and Saul has been trying to reconnect since he turned the big 5-0.
general connections,
CLIENTS / Saul is a highly successful divorce lawyer, so if your muse or someone in their life has filed for divorce in the past three years, it’s likely he’s their lawyer. While he specializes in divorce, he practices all areas of family law, so custody disputes, adoption or foster care proceedings, etc. are under his purview! If your muse needed a lawyer and didn’t go to Heller & Co down the street, then it was probably Saul that took on their case!
BEST FRIEND (0/1) / Saul has many friends, but this specific person is his best friend (in Blue Harbor, at least). The person he’d call the moment something interesting happened to gossip about it, the one person he shows some vulnerability to, the one person he divulges all his feelings to, and vice versa!
FRIENDS / Saul is an acquired taste, but he’s a fun guy to have around. If you want to gossip over brunch, dance all night, or have a cry-sesh over wine, he’s your man.
ENEMIES / On the flip side of that, he can also be a petty enemy. Maybe your muse got a divorce and Saul was representing their spouse, maybe he made a bitchy comment at the wrong moment, maybe your muse doesn’t like his flashy ways, or they just don’t like the cut of his jib. The possibilities are endless.
ROMANTIC INTERESTS (35+) / There’s a reason he was able to get three different women to marry him across multiple decades, alright? It’ll probably be a casual fling, but knowing his track record, it could lead somewhere serious.
SEXUAL PARTNERS (35+) / Casual hookups, friends-with-benefits, a situationship, whatever you think your character would be interested in with him.
GO-TO DATE (0/1) / Since he’s trying not to get wrapped up in another serious relationship, he needs a platonic friend to take as a date to town events and fancy dinners!
MENTEE or INTERN / Is your muse thinking about joining the legal profession? Do they want someone to mentor them? Do they enjoy grabbing coffees and gossiping? Saul’s hiring!
CHILD FIGURES (1/2) / Saul has a very distant relationship with his son that still lives in New York, but he does have fatherly tendencies within. Since there’s a lot of young characters (meaning anyone under the age of 34 basically since they’re babies in Saul’s opinion lol) in the rpg and I believe Saul is the oldest in the rpg currently, these muses would view Saul as a surrogate father in some fashion. He would view them as a lowkey do-over of the relationship he missed out on with his actual son, so they’d come to him whenever they need advice or borrow some money, etc. I can’t say he’ll be a good influence, but he’ll be an influence nonetheless. Note: these relationships will absolutely 100% be kept completely platonic. @ruairimacarthy
NEIGHBORS / Anyone that lives in Oak Gardens, I’d specifically love to set who lives to the left or right of his property! Any sort of dynamic goes, though I’d imagine he’s not a bad neighbor because he’s rarely home lol. I’d also love for someone to come feed his cats during the day when he’s too busy at work!
and anything else we can think of!! just dm me or ask for my discord!!

Unfortunately, his firm is still young, and with (stinky 😝) Chapman & Sons in town before Saul was even born, he's got a long way to go before his firm is truly successful.
He's got a natural charm to him that some people percieve as smarmy, others find it attractive. He's good for a good time, even in his fifties, and while he can be irritating at times, he can also be really funny so no one has murdered him for being annoying yet.

I'm putting in an official wanted connection over at the main for this role, but if anyone wants to pick her up, please message me! Good ok a story idea where we are terrible with Danny. So I read ideas of the king/prince taken prisoner by his own people, the halfas are hyper fertile compared to the classic ghost, the classic man in white who captures him and experiments with him, vlad loses control of events ,that his obsession is love then turns into family, the justice league who summons a ghost king to fall on a Danny more than hurt than hurt, the Martians using mind reading to prevent disaster and establish communication, the young justice who is entrusted with Danny... Yes all of this combining
Danny makes a very big fight and ends up weakened, a hunter shot hits him directly in the core, he is taken to the ghost zone in an area where the time is strongly distorted so that very little time is spent in humans compared to time immence that a healing of nuclei needed, he is entrusted to Lunch lady and box ghost because lunch lady is the best to feed a human and boxi is extremely talented to return to the human world where he is not really seen as a real threat, moreover these two already share a lair for a while so they will cohabit without problem
The drugs to regenerate Danny's core are working well, very well, too well... lunch box born.
The ghost couple who have been looking for a child for a long time now are ecstatic and the news spreads quickly, very quickly, children born in the ghost zone are rare and difficult to have, many ghosts are in the same situation as boxy and lady lunch...
And then... lunch box is exceptionally powerful, more than its two parents combined... Even if the two ghosts would try to hide Danny's involvement. The timing is too obvious... it goes back to the observer
Danny's recovery, even far from the far frozen, is really going well, and even if the birth of lunch box was a weird thing, but he lived more weirder thing and everyone is happy. Danny returns to the human world not even a day later. And he comes back healthy and with a more positive view of live in the Ghost Zone.
There are still several big fights but not to the point of hurting Danny's core again but this last one takes the habit of recovering in the very distorted temporal area and the place somehow becomes his unofficial haunt.
Then Danny reveals himself to his parents by accident, it goes wrong, his friends try to free him but get caught, Danny is transported to the men in white. There is a new release attempt, his friends barely escape from the attempt..
He has decided to bring out the heavy artillery. The pharaoh's scepter is out, Sam uses the fenton peeler, some ghost helps. This time it works but Tucker dies during this, Sam is badly injured and eventually dies from his injuries.
The men in white recover pieces of the peeler and connect the rescue to the fenton.
Fenton work falls, the place is looted, the parents fenton already disown dies or is imprisoned, it is not very clear when Danny learns. .... he only has his sister, his sister who takes him alone in the zone without worrying about the risks for herself, his beloved sister, his last anchor...
Danny is in a comatose state and Jazz uses everything she knows to avoid problems and even learn more, especially about the true laws of the area. The observers are curiously useful but do not know them and their passive jazz has no real reason to suspect them
The observers are ecstatic, they manage to make this miserable human learn the rules of succession and they have just finished trapping the crown and the ring for the abobination!!!
Clockwork, there is closely watched but manages to put the justice league on the trail of the destruction of a government center, then on the secret department which was the reason for the targeting. Ensuring that no big attack hits Amity ville is already a little more complicated... But now that they are there with zatana and constantine present to investigate FW, he can let Vlad's attack go. Thanks to this, they discover halfa, discovering that the identity of Phamtom after that is not so hard, discovering that he saved their world several times alone either. Getting them to learn for the coronation is much harder though and he can't do it until it happens.
The coronation arrives, Jazz and Danny go there being told that it's the best way to unify the ghosts to counter the men in white while spanking them to stop harming the living. But the argument that we use observers to make Danny fall in love with the idea and the fact that it will legitimize jazz's safe place in the ghost zone. Jazz she thinks that the acquisition of royal artifacts and their ability to amplify the power of their bearer will make that no more human weapon will hurt her little brother. Jazz is not wrong....
The coronation is done in a small committee, a heavy cape is put on Danny's shoulders, keeping him on the ground during the event... it will never be taken away from him. The crown is placed on his head but instead of the flame ice filling on it and fixing it on his head, nothing is alarming and it's rather pretty... the crown ice is powered by Danny but not controlled by him and can cover much more than the top of his head. When they have to put on the ring he hesitates... but we promise him that it's not a rage ring anymore, that's not a lie
As the JL/JLD searches vlad's properties the ground shakes. They thus find the secret underground which was only accessible normally with ghost intangibility. But once discovered, thanks to deadmen, it is easy to use magic to circumvent this kind of problem. There he finds a jazz fenton who is no longer really a teenager just entering adulthood but above all who is dying on the ground, many vials of unknown substance on the ground while the traces indicate that she has somehow sort of crawling on some sort of mini spaceship that snuck through Vlad's portal to try and find something. She asks to save her brother in a last breath before losing knowledge. She showed her arm where she is tattooed with a circle of family invocation confirms once again the identity of Phamtom. By studying uthe ectoplasmic green tattoo, it seems to change automatically. Jazz is brought in but dies on the way to the watchtower.
They poisoned jazz, the observers poisoned jazz and only give him his medicine to not succumb to it if he keeps calm and quiet. He would do anything for jazz, the only one who loves it, for his big sister, for the last human, no, the last person who can be trusted. There is no way that the ghosts don't know what's going on, it's at least the 3rd child that exists with "his help". But it's for jazz, so he shuts up, if he's wise enough he leaves it with her...
It's been 2 children since he has seen jazz....it's her children numbers how many? he stopped counting when it moved the dozen...
The justice league on carefully preparing the circle of invocation modified from the family circle of jazz, now frozen in his death. The circle glows directly after it is finished, not a word or gift put in place, it briefly ignites before the flames become salagtites and frost devours the place. A supernatural blizard rages and shatters the salgtites into dust which coalesces into a hunched figure on the ground, two solid, glowing green eyes open and seem to stare directly into their souls.
Martian Manhunter steps forward and the blizzard stills, causing the room to transform from a storm to a suspension of small star-like crystals as the lights come back on with the receding frost and the temperature returns to normal.
Danny calls himself, he opens his eyes temporarily curious, only jazz knows the sigil he chose as equivalent to Phamtom, but it is clearly not jazz. Actually it's not jazz... it's... justice league? why now? he can't leave otherwise.. they have jazz, he can't leave.... As he is about to close his eyes again and deny the invocation a voice resounds in his head "They don't have your sister" He stops and concentrates on the advancing figure. "she came to us so that we can save you" pearls of tears flow while her real body is covered with frost preparing for the trip then in a breath he is done with his prison which has never really been golden. He doesn't even leave a snowflake behind him. He barely gets up from the circle when the cape covers him almost entirely, the crown grows larger on his head and his neck is frozen in the ice which continues to crawl on his body. The ring shines and all motivation escapes him as he collapses to the ground.
Martian Manhunter and others rush to grab him but he falls so fast, the cape pulling him to the ground. The ice slapping on the ground makes the station vibrate by the force of the shock. But this ice doesn't even have a small crack unlike the now deformed ground. Constantine swears violently by already taking out various tools and zanata has started casting various spells against the artifacts. the Martians informs the league about the altering mental state of their young guest.
When news of the King's escape breaks out, Danny's villains are confused. How's that for an escape? Danny's haunt has always been Amity Park. It is normal for him to leave the infinite realm. It was already strange that he stayed so long on his recovery island where the old castle was moved, they thought it was because there was no active king for so long. But now....
It takes several days and a lot of coffee to remove the curse on the crown and then even more time for that of the ring. But Danny's mind is now free and he panics, WHERE'S THE JAZZ! his calls and pleas for his sister resound again and again in a phantom height which denies any isolation or obstacle
Martian Manhunter is still the one to intervene as Danny panics at anyone else's approach. The Martians quickly inform them that the young king is somehow terrorized to be approached by humans especially in a medical environment and is left alone with him even if the JLD is just on the other side of the door or the glass. After many efforts and telepathic speech, the young adolescent finally calms down. .. until it is revealed to him the death of his sister
A cracking sound echoes throughout the Infinite Realms and all its subjects. The king's sister is dead. The sister who was under the protection of the observers after the coronation. The investigations (can be discreet) of the young king's acquaintances and the declaration of escape quickly replaced by a declaration of disappearance or abduction... The ghost people have many questions and the pain and dismay of their king resonating in them and the last taste. Dani recently back in the ghost zone most of the regulars of amity park and many citizens go to the castle and the council of observers who find themselves overwhelmed. Dani's core guides her into the council's basement. Accompanied by Embers Kitty and Jonny, Elle comes across almost forty young children who resemble her on a fundamental level. They are his children... but no... they are the children of his original. Dani isn't a fighter, so people forget about her, but she's barely below Danny in terms of raw power even though getting into it knocks her out.
A second echo from the king echoes beneath the council's location, this time in fury. A royal order is shouted to bring down the observers resounds in all.
The trio stare wide-eyed at Dani before she walks up to the kids and starts hugging them, everyone rushing towards her. They were like her, born of Danny but without consent, she won't leave them alone, she promises them in a low voice. the trio look at each other and nod, Jonny and Embers go back to inform people of the situation, the prince has been used, raped (even if not physically because useless with ghost biologic logic, it's still rape for me) Kitty pauses a hand on Dani's shoulder as the Phantoms cry now in an all too big group hug. But the question is that they leave Phantom and his family alone again, king, superpowered ghost, protector of amity park or whatever, it's just a human teenager doubling up as a ghost child.
The presence of two royal echoes, the Devastation of Mourning and the Fury of Betrayal, had another effect... A Dan breaks out of his prison. He doesn't know who's making him feel all this again, but he's not going to just stand still and take it. CW lets him pass. that is permission enough for him. He will first go to the source of anger.
So it was that a Dan who had just sensed the royal order moved in a straight line across the realm like a meteor slamming into the Watcher's Council building already there. half destroyed in the uprising of the people. It was not long before they were beaten until they retired to their pits at the hand of a Dan, a third king saluted by the people as he sent an echo informing of the fall of the observers. He didn't really understand the reaction of the ghost crowd or of his royal statue recunnued by his last but didn't delay more than that. Returning to the source of the second echo by cutting through the walls.
This is how Dan and Danny meet for the first time. Recognition then non-recognition passed in their eyes. Then Dan looked at the children, These children!!! not his children but definitely HIS family!
A violent echo of family claim over the group and Dan joins the giant hug and begins to talk to Dani (and kitty who is standing at a distance because wtf is this danny not danny who restrains his oppressive aura at 0%?!? (in fact if he represses part of it well) since when Danny is also powerful for Dani then this guy can unleash so much power then repress it just as fast in Dani's case) Dan understands the situation a little better, this Dany also experienced betrayal, the loss of his fear then again the betrayal then the loss of jazz... that's a lot.... he won't be able to manage everything.. .and with His children... no, Danny cannot go wild... Dani and he must find him while taking care of His children. Danny's echo is missing and his location is unknown, just not in the ghost zone... They are going to need help... And he's the only "adult"...he was an adult who has an obsession with family. Neither he or Dani like the idea but they have no other idea so... Vlad
Meanwhile, on Danny's side (and DC characters), right after danny sends the first echoe, ik starts crying uncontrollably, wail escapes and goes wild, John Jones has no choice but to phase shift him out and call in the Green Lanterns for backup. the small group finds itself in a catastrophe in the void, the lantern going together to maintain an air bubble around the children. For all of them, this seems to last for hours until Danny runs out completely and becomes has its human form and falls into a half unconsciousness.
There follows a very long mental discussion where Danny has no filter but also little coherence. The league must take a decision. They can't send him back to the realm of infinity, neither can they imprison him or put him in a comma just because of his power he's innocent worse he's one of them, a hero, a very very traumatized child hero with a lot of trust issues. They'll keep him in the station, in a room right against the void of space, and watched over by at least a Martian and a Green Lantern.
Danny wakes up with Miss Martian at his bedside and becomes attached to her immediately; not human not ghost and redhead, "winning" combos. Megan finds him adorable especially when he begins to follow her like a second shadow. The others find it a little disturbing the speed of it but Danny does not have another crisis and he speaks through the mental links to the Martians, then to the other through them then becomes verbal with the Martians and shortly after with the members of the young justice who visits him and Megan. in short, several litle arc of character to learn to trust again
Meanwhile other Vlad escapes/disappears. We don't talk about it to Danny and we don't hear about Vlad anymore. Even his money somehow disappears. The ghost attacks have been organized and meticulously target the buildings of the men in white only. But since they didn't call for help, no deaths were recorded and they were already on the JL's blacklist. They look away while watching for a possible development of the situation
Now the bulk of the healing period and Danny's return to normal with a lot of little character arc that I'm not going to describe because it's gods already super long
Danny finally comes down to earth and is installed in Mount Justice and follows Megan's daily activities except for missions and school. returning to the watchtowers during school time, he makes up for his absence there with a bespoke Bat-approved program. But he becomes extremely nervous with each YJ mission especially if Megan is on the front line, he is surprised on several occasions hacking the communications to follow the progress of the mission or in tinkering trains of the armaments for the team (he quickly secured mt justive and the ghost watchtower and give ghost weapons to any hero he attaches to, it became the sign of Danny's attachment, if he loves you and accepts you he gives you a sci-fi weapon). The only thing that seems to calm him down is when we finish taking him to force him into first care and then to emergency care, which is becoming more and more complicated. It still takes a long week and a lot of insistence from Danny for him to be allowed to help on a small mission. It's going well and the importance of the missions increases
Then a more public mission arrives and what remains of the men in white, amity parkeur know that Danny phantom is "alive", them and ghost but above all the new and large Phamtom family living in a huge mansion bought by vlad under a brand new identity, now know it's the JL/YJ who have Danny.
On the side of the Phantom family, it is going well. Vlad, after a period of adaptation, blossoms into being the grandfather/uncle of an army of children who have no liking over him and who let themselves be drowned in gifts and affection. They have so many different centers of attention! He uses and abuses doubles almost continuously. Suffice to say that he has a lot to learn to be able to follow everyone's passions, he no longer has a second to himself to even think of being a bad guy. And he would change his situation for nothing in the world!!!
Dan is a bit similar without the cascade of gifts, he is everywhere all the time, he named all the children so that their initial remains DP (because he finds it funny, Dani approves, Vlad is appalled but has to help offer more from name to D') With Danni he also organizes the volunteers for the raids on the men in white as well as the last faithful to the observer, who was barely countable on the fingers of his hands, almost everyone hating them without saying so, but hiding in the ghost zone is easy. It's Dani the most absent from the house. She does a lot of little running to the right and left so as not to appear on radar, spies and infiltrates the facilities of the men in white and prepares the assault of Dan's team, taking advantage of her appearance as a lost child / children thorough streets.
Many of Amity Park's usual ghost to see become honorary uncles or aunts. Boxy and lady lunch feel guilty that it all started with them but we took the situation head on, lady lunch cooks for everyone, boxy makes enthusiastic speeches about how to be a scared ghost and help Dani Finding supplies for children and building a network of parents of ghost children to help with ghost education, he is the first ghost to realize that halfas don't have the basic knowledge of ghost culture at their fingertips creation and decided to change that. Skulker is the one who stalks the faithful to the observers with Dan, the two become strangely very good friends (Skulker is also the only enthusiast to hear about the "good old days" when Dan killed everyone) Technus was the most versatile all-rounder, he is the one who moved money and created a vast network of bank accounts around the world, who organized the random programs to choose the places for the next food shopping, technological equipment and the many gifts. He eavesdrops on the MiW's electronic communications, participates in the raid to prevent things like emergency calls, and erases all traces of ghost activity. It is also fun to equip the games room with a multitude of video games and films even if his notion of what is ok for such and such an age is more than wobbly. Ember takes care of musical awakening and lullabies. She is also part of Dan's attack team. But she especially loves being part of the cool aunt and uncle group that sneaks in the sweets lady lunch disapproves of, with kitty and johnny. Kitty likes to take care of the youngest children but doesn't like having to be the time-out manager because neither vlad nor dan are able to resist her kids (and they know it) and is one of the few ghosts allowed to raise the voice over them. She is johnny love to teach them old slang and biker slang. johnny is much more absent because with Dani he is the main person in charge of the supply being one of the rare ghosts to be able to completely hide his ghostly side, that's his bikes we put him in the role. Moreover with his speed and Shadow at his side allows him to easily escape. He does it to complain too much time we leave it to him and kitty time and money for dating. He also had fun customizing the children's bikes with them and Youngblood behind the backs of "responsible adults". Youngblood is generally forbidden around the Phamtom/Masters mansions, if he is allowed it is under strict surveillance. But he infiltrates regularly, it is indirectly he who allowed the security of the manor to be so good. Amorpho passes from time to time but rarely and especially to relegate the information he has picked up right and left, he does not like to take risks or be at the manor and children but is part of himself who had quickly put away their side and accepts to take any direction on or seek information which is already a lot being really not a fighter. Fright Knight eqt the last but not the least strange uncle of the family, and Dan's trio of friends. In Danny's absence he considers him the king for orders but his equivalent for the rest. It is he who organizes the bulk of the forces for the attacks and who prevents the inhabitants of the kingdom of infinity from coming to earth to return to search for their king. When informal he is a tired man who likes to drink but bemoans the inability to get drunk.
(Clockwork is too busy keeping things going to be part of the family. Frostbite is the family doctor but stays far away so no family either. Princess Dorathea helps deal with the civil disorder but stays in the Phantom Zone. Cujo is Cujo. And I don't know what to do with Pandora, surely one of the civil calm helpers who occasionally helps in the raid. walker and wolf are too busy with their own thing I guess, one from the chaos of the ghost zone and the other from being a fugitive)
But now that the revelation that Danny is with the justice league is spreading, the balance of this more than chaotic royal family is called into question. Dan killed them all and had fun doing it, Vlad is already a criminal and will be sent back to prison directly so .... remains Dani, who is not keen on getting on the radar and losing his anonymity which is its greatest strength and treasure. But it's for Danny, she needs to at least check he's okay, tell him that she and her future evil as well as her worst enemies and most of her regular fighters are taking care of her unwanted children and her rauyaume just as little wanted and that he can stay having fun with his great friends and recover, they take care of the MiWs, don't worry .... yep it's not going to be easy
At amity park we don't know what to think, Phantom abandoned them? He's been missing for over a year now. Why did he never come back? ect Only the huntress intervenes to remind them that when Sam trucker jazz and she asked for help to save "their hero" they barely marched with a few banners for at least 2-3 days before returning to their lives. He owes them nothing and even she continues to care for some of the animal ghosts alone since never receives anything from them, hardly any thanks from time to time are rare. As if someone who fights ghosts for them is their due. But now that there is hardly any more attack is that small, she will leave, they have years to learn to defend themselves alone
The men in white are angry, the league is hiding Phamtom from them! They should have delivered to them from the beginning! Bad luck for them a case against them has been in preparation for a long time, moreover with deadman there is a prejudice that dates from before the ecto-act. They find themselves fighting for survival against the Phamtom/Masters family, fighting for funding and now in a legal fight with the league. Suffice to say that they are in agony
Dani therefore thought about how to contact the league. She can't get on their satellite, space is big and ignoring their security isn't exactly polite. Showing up at the hall of justice would really not be discreet and the MiW still persists so no. The SOS line to the league... that seems inappropriate. Plus they never showed up at Amity Park so that line of communication must have been compromised years ago. No, she's going to have to go to one of them in person. She should go to one without great capacity so that they are less afraid of being shadowed. hmmm. So she'll go to Batman! Besides, she's been wanting to visit gotham for a long time~
So we have a Dani who hangs out in Gotham, meets the town's ghost, then waits on the edge of a random rooftop who was advised by Lady Gotham. insert here the trope of encounter between Phamtom and bats
Now we have the conclusion of the story with the end of the men in white, the reunion of Dani (who does not say roof to Danny yet but whispers to him that she still has too much to tell him, she will come back) formalization of Phamtom as a leaguer. The reunion of Danny and Dani V2 without an audience this time. The visit of the Phamtom/Masters manor. Apologies from the ghost rogues for not understanding the observers' schemes. Forgiveness half given and the beginning of Danny's reconnection with ghost culture. A crowning of Danny accompanied by Dani and Dan who obtains the same rank as him. etc.
Perhaps a concluding arc with an end-of-the-world event where the presence and power of the royal trio Danny Dani and Dan is revealed. maybe with Vlad and the kids if we spend enough time. Let the phantoms come out of the phantom zone to help, in battle, to evacuate civilians and reconstruction or all three. Let everyone have their little moment.
Even conclude with Dan joking that fighting them is almost as much fun as killing them. Because even if he's a happy dad, he still has big problems in his head. Let the whole league look at each other and realize what they could have faced if they had made the wrong choices.
Then give the final words to CW who sighs with relief that he can finally take a break.

So, it seems like I Am Batman is officially ending in February, and with that all of Future State characters lost their ongoings. Of course there's a chance that they still have something for this characters, but so far everything indicates that DC gave up on FS characters at all. How do you think, what's the reason of this outcome? Was there a chance for these characters? Do you think DC didn't try harder to push them? Or it's because fanbase still hates everything new?
Love to pretend I saw it coming, but just the other day I predicted Ridley would get to keep writing the book until issue 25 given how DC seemed to value him, so much for my prediction skills. Well that's a wrap for the Future State crew unless some kind of Justice League book starring them is in the works, and given that the solicits for Nightwing are setting up the Titans as the premiere team for a bit, complete with teasing Jon joining them instead of the Justice League, I don't think that Legacy League book is happening (or at the very least it won't be what I expected/hoped it to be). Only part of Future State that may still be relevant is PKJ's House of El cast, everything else is clearly not going to play a major role in what's to come.
Tumblr media
Why is DC backing away from them? 5G got scrapped because the higher-ups at WB no longer supported the shakeup apparently, their attempt to position the classics and the Future State crew as equals during Infinite Frontier flopped, and the film DCU seems poised to refocus on the classics again, meaning that the comics are doing likewise. Sales and synergy are conspiring to reestablish the status quo once more.
DC pushed them all hard, I don't see what more could have been done without actually carrying through on 5G, short of maybe giving Jace Detective Comics the way Jon took over Superman for a bit, and making Yara Wonder Woman. Jon, Jace, Yara, Jo, and Jackson all got lead roles in major books, either as solos or as part of a duo. It is surprising that they completely abandoned Jess Quick, that tease about Jess travelling to Earth 0 has been dropped for certain (along with a whole bunch of other plot threads like "Earth-Alpha"). All Jess got was that Teen Justice book and since I don't see anyone talking about that I can only assume it's a sales flop, which means they're never going to matter again. Majority of the fanbase and the people working at DC do not care about the non-Earth 0 characters, they're event fodder or cameos at best, Jess being left on Earth 11 is the end for their relevance.
The already established fanbase was never going to embrace these characters "cutting in line" to take over the major roles instead of the previous generation who had been built up. Hope was that all the people demanding diversity wasn't just a tiny crowd on Twitter amplified by an echo chamber, but people who were actually eager to buy books featuring said diversity. Those people were supposed to show up and support the books but they didn't. Biggest breakout books of Infinite Frontier were Nightwing, Action Comics, and Wally West's return to headlining The Flash, all three books starring straight white men. Of the FS crew the biggest success was Jon, the most traditional of the legacies bisexuality aside, whose book last I checked was the only one of the group still in the Top 100 chart. Jace did the second best with his book outlasting Jon, despite his sales being worse. Jackson was a total failure, his books completely flopped, with Aquamen debuting outside the Top 100. Aquafans had no interest in him taking on the mantle. Jo was paired with John and that Green Lantern book didn't sell great but it was comparable to Morrison's run with Hal from what I understand. Yara debuted strong but the mess behind the scenes ended up killing her book. Alas none of them succeeded the way DC was hoping.
Tumblr media
What's the future for this group?
Jon will be fine. He's the blood son and natural successor to Clark, he's already getting adapted outside of comics, hell if they're really pivoting back to Cavill for the DCU, I expect Jon will be the one who replaces him in the films. He's the only one thus far who will be getting a solo book in Dawn of DCU, albeit a mini, he's in the Lazarus Planet event, two of the stories in Action will star him, and I'm hoping Taylor is just wrapping up his era on the character before handing him over to someone else while he goes and does Titans. DC won't be taking away the Superman mantle from their bisexual Superman, although if they did I confess at this point I wouldn't even care unless they're planning on taking him away from Taylor. There's still a chance to salvage Jon with a new creative team.
Jace might be ok due to DC fearing backlash over killing off/stripping the mantle from their black Batman, but I don't know if most people would even care. How aware are people that Jace even exists at this point? What hurt Jace, besides the fact that there are at least 3 other people "in front of him" in terms of succession, is that there already is a "black Batman": Black Panther. He's the same kind of archetype, but T'Challa was in a billion dollar movie that doubled as a cultural phenomena and unlike Jace he was the lead of his franchise. Jace will never be that, wouldn't have been that even if 5G had happened. Ridley's writing probably did turn some people away as well, but I view Ridley's time on the character the same as the Golden Age Batman: the bricks are laid but the house isn't done being built yet. I hope Jace will get that chance to be "finished", the way Bruce ultimately was with Moore and Miller. With no real chance of him being adapted outside of comics any time soon, I fully expect he will slip into Limbo, unless he's getting a follow-up mini or appearing in a team book like Jon.
Yara is Wonder Girl so that's what she'll stay. She'll be Diana's sidekick and play support. If DC doesn't think she can work on her own, might I suggest relaunching Superman/Wonder Woman as a Jon/Yara book yet again? I liked her and Jon's dynamic in Future State, and I love the idea that Jon is closer to his Wonder counterpart in the Trinity than his dad was to Diana. Please don't abandon Yara because I really do love her as a character.
Jackson/Kaldur should be fine, he's the most prominent member of the Aquafamily aside from Arthur and Mera thanks to Young Justice, but he is definitely not lead material. Least not at the moment, Arthur is the only Aquaman who can support a solo book, leave Jackson as a supporting character to Arthur for now and keep building him up. Maybe one day he can support holding the mantle of Aquaman.
Jess as I said is done. Didn't even get a book, not on Earth 0, and the Flash Family is already huge. Don't hold your breath waiting for them to show up again. Wally and Wallace are the only ones who will ever be the main Flash other than Barry.
Jo will join Simon and Kyle in the "cameos every now and then to remind you they exist but never gets another solo" category unless the trade sales of Far Sector are bigger than I am aware of. Hal and John remain the main Lanterns and that's not changing in the wake of the GL show getting reworked to star John, John being the Tomorrowverse Lantern, and John being in the Suicide Squad game while Hal gets to keep being the Lantern for the Injustice series.
Sucks that this crew is probably going to go the way of the Bloodlines heroes where there's one standout that everyone remembers (Jon/Hitman) and everyone else gets unceremoniously dropped and forgotten. My prediction skills have already been proven wrong once when it comes to these characters futures, maybe I'll get lucky and be wrong again like I want to be this time.

Has Pekka ever had a bad day?
"Not many. Sometimes, after a bad game, when we haven't played well, he has occasionally thrown the goalie mask around, and it's funny how it changes the vibe in the locker room. Everyone just freezes, they don't even dare to move, they're so shocked."

Roope Hintz: on skating, style and growing up
So, the episode of the Finnish podcast Total NHL Forever with Roope Hintz was full of so much pure gold that I want to share some of it here. The episode came out on Tuesday 15 February, 2022.
This is a big chunk of text, sorry for that, but if you're interested - here you are:
Roope is from Nokia, the neighbouring town of Tampere. He started his actual hockey career in Tampere, playing for Ilves. (Yes, Nokia is also the home of the rubber products (boots and tyres) factory that later became an international tech giant and is now the name sponsor of the new hockey arena in the bigger Tampere.)
He got a big boost for his skating when he played in Florida for a team called Tampa Bay Juniors in EMJHL in 2012-2013, after junior high school (yläaste), at approx. 16 years of age.
"I wasn't a great skater when I was a kid, but I went to Florida to play hockey, and we had a Russian lady who coached some of us in skating 3 or 4 times a week, teaching us skating technique. The level of the game in the league wasn't too high, I don't know what Finnish league to compare it with, but it was good to get out there, see the world a little, learn the language, and the skating coach helped me develop a lot. I shared an apartment with a couple of players and attended online classes, and I had an English tutor a couple of times a week."
Ilves Tampere was his junior team growing up, and he played a little over one season for them in the men's Liiga team before moving to Helsinki to play for HIFK in 2015, after his NHL draft.
"I wanted to challenge myself in a bigger organization, and a lot of players have moved on to the NHL from there. Also, I got to live on my own, move away from home. HIFK has the reputation that you grow from boy to man on that team, and I thought that it is a challenge that I want to take. The finances [Ilves was near-bankrupt at that point in time] had nothing to do with it. I made the decision based on where I thought I would personally develop best and what would be the best next step for me. I had great mentors there, Juhamatti Aaltonen and Siim Liivik for example. Liivik took me under his wing, he was kind of a big brother for me, and we have remained good friends."
About WJC 2016:
"The team spirit was great from the start. We all knew each other, we had been on the same path [the youth NT development program] from very young, and it all peaked in the home tournament, and we got the brightest medal, it was amazing. The fan thing after that was so huge, we'd be asked for pics and autographs everywhere after that, got recognized on the streets even though we were only the junior team. But you learned interacting with fans there, it's just a thing that you do, take the pics, sign the autograph, and go on to do the thing you're there to do."
"I have some kind of contact with everyone from that team basically, and of course with some the contact is more frequent. When we play each other, we'll at least meet up after the game. Lately we haven't had the chance to go to dinner because of the corona situation, but that's what we usually do."
The closest friend(s) from the WCJ team:
"I have pretty many. Pulju, Pate, Sepe, Mikko, Kassu. [Jesse Puljujärvi, Patrik Laine, Sebastian Aho, Mikko Rantanen, Kasperi Kapanen] I'm very close with all of them."
About the NHL:
"My mindset was that I'll play that one season in the AHL but I want to be ready to play in the NHL after that. I went back and forth on the next season, and I was never told what I should specifically focus on improving, the message was just that they want me to get more minutes."
"Little by little I got more responsibility and playing time on the Dallas Stars. In this and the previous season, we have found a good line and learned to play well together."
On playing with Robertson and Pavelski:
"We see the game similarly. We all are like, when you pass to the other guy, you know there's a chance you'll get the puck back. I try to use my speed to our advance, and Pavelski is a magical goalscorer, he is one of the best close to the goal in the whole league. And Robertson, he's not necessarily the fastest guy on the ice, but when the computer he has starts to run, his game IQ is just ridiculous. When I know that he has the puck, and find the space for us, I know that he will find his way there.
Pavelski is special.
"He's easily the best golfer on our team, and his hand-eye coordination is amazing with the puck. He practices his shots every morning. I have noticed that his will to win is outstanding. When the stakes are high, there is a big game or a clutch moment, he has the ability to play his best game right at that moment. He can do things that not everyone can. He's not too over-the-top pump you up hype guy, but he will say "we're doing fine, let's just keep going." I'd say he's the biggest leader of our team, in the locker room and on the ice.
Who leads the Finnish Mafia?
"Miro on the ice, in the locker room we Finns are not the loudest. When we're just Finns? I don't know, maybe Esa, he's been here the longest, but we stand our ground against him pretty well when we need to. It's unique to have 5 finns on the team. When I was in the AHL team, I was the only Finn. It's great to be able to communicate on your own language, and we are all alike and like the same things, we like hanging out together. We all except Esa live in the same building, Esa has his house a little further away."
The hardest D-men to play against: Makar, Hedman, Josi. The hardest Finns to play against: Last year it was Hakanpää.
The most stylish player in the NHL [when it comes to their game I think]: Patrick Kane and Panarin.
"Panarin is always a threat when he has the puck. He can pace and control the game, and he's pretty skilled too."
About style and fashion off the ice:
"Style is important to me. I like to wear clothes that not everyone has, I pay attention to that kind of stuff. I have been like that ever since a kid, I have always paid attention to my outfits. We have to wear suits on game days. The dress code was looser last season but now it's suits again. I think it should be the same as in the NBA, you can choose what to wear. I liked last year, you could choose more freely and express yourself with your clothes a bit."
"You've got to love how Pate (Patrik Laine) comes to the arena in his yellow glasses and different hats. Pate is who he is, he's himself, he doesn't ask what other people think."
"Older players like it too, that younger players dress differently and show personality. Out of older players, Radulov is really stylish. When he puts his teeth back in his mouth after the game, he's a totally different looking guy."

Sepe's Backyard Spa
Tumblr media
Sepe denies the cameras his athletic body* because he doesn't like to go to sauna or the hot tub before game days (*their words not mine)
Seth was very punctual, If Sebastian said they'd leave at 9 am he'd be ready and waiting for the ride at the bottom of the stairs 8:59
Seth was a little wary about the sauna the first time, "He crouched down when I and Teuvo kept throwing water on the heater, is this normal, but he got a hang of it soon and started suggesting it himself, would it be a sauna night this evening."
"He became a half Finn, I wouldn't be surprised if he moved to Finland after he retires."
Says that there is a lot of leadership in the team, many guys are hard workers but cool and fun off the ice
Doesn't remember what he says to opposing players on the ice, "some curse words can be exchanged in a heated game"
The stuff stays on the ice, the hothead guys aren't the same outside the game. "Tom Wilson is a good example, he plays rough and sometimes testing the rules, but we were teammates at the All-Star game and he was an awesome guy."

Todd is smart. Investing in the women’s team is less expensive, and will likely have a greater impact on result in a shorter space of time than it could for the men’s team. Becoming one of the most dominant women’s teams in Europe, sure for most fans it doesn’t compare to the men winning the Champions league. But there are no downsides for a big club to have a successful women’s team, only positives. It’s a good thing to be known for, like Lyon. Now we are also coming to a point where the women’s team might start to make a net profit for the club. There are stars, sponsors, people want to watch them, they fill bigger stadiums for big games. And they attract maybe a slightly different, new audience and customers than the men’s game, namely more women and girls, thus expanding the total Chelsea fanbase.
yea this is a smart ownership group. Chelsea have a good chance at the cl or at least going very far wich is great in terms of stuff like marketing and investment and bringing favour on the new ownership

Pep Talk
A/N - Here is a shorter fic of Barry Allen/The Flash being stressed out as the Justice League was in the dawn of their existence. Diana somehow makes him feel better. Enjoy!
Word Count: 735
He wasn’t entirely sure if he was ready for it all, the whole world saving thing. Barry was not that old, definitely the youngest of this dysfunctional crew of heroes, if that’s what they really were. Barry didn’t consider himself a hero. He just was a guy that could run really, really fast. That’s cool and all, but like his teammate was Superman. Yeah, the Superman.
Barry paced in the kitchen area of their facility, a secret base if you will. Bruce Wayne had purchased a large piece of land to convert into a training and residential area for the Justice League. Yes, Barry thought the name was hilarious too, even if he played a massive part in the naming of their team. Now, Barry wasn’t super wealthy, so when the richest man in the entire world told him that Barry was going to receive a large room in this giant, middle of nowhere, hidden facility, Barry got excited. Very excited. Taking all of his belongings, he moved to the top secret facility and has been living there for about a month now. Despite this, Barry didn’t feel very heroic compared to the others. He had been watching Batman in the news lately, and damn, Bruce was a hero. That man was incredible. Barry, despite helping to save the world, didn’t feel like he so much belonged in this exceptional group of misfits.
This is where Diana came in. She had moved into the facility as well, though kept her office and job as an archaeologist and curator. It’s not like she had any issues travelling far, she could fly, which made Barry very jealous. Sure, he could get anywhere in the East Coast in less than an hour, but flying was so much cooler.
“Hello, Barry,” Diana walked into Barry’s room, though the door had been closed for some time. Diana wasn’t one for privacy, Barry had noted early on in this living situation. Barry was sitting in front of his computer, reading through countless news stories on his heroic companions. Though once his door opened, her immediately clicked off, so only his screen saver was showing. “You are very stressed.”
“Um, thanks?” Barry bit his lip, fighting off a bark of a laugh. Diana was very blunt, as was practically everyone else in the team. At least Cyborg was chill.
“What is the matter?” Her smile was very sweet, though her eyes had the intensity of a lion biting into the throat of an antelope. “I can help.”
“I am just stressed, no reason to it,” Barry sighed, leaning back in the rolling chair. “That’s it. Goodbye, Diana. I’ll see you at dinner.”
Instead of leaving, Diana walked further into the room and stood directly behind him. He unconsciously sank into the chair, still intimidated by the powerful woman. Then, out of nowhere, she began to dig her fingers into his belly.
“What the hell?” He choked out, cackling wildly, thrashing in his chair.
“This is a way I was taught that humans can make each other feel better. It seems to be working well on you,” Diana beamed, smiling nearly as wide as he was. “You are no longer frowning.”
“I can’t frown if I tried,” Barry squealed, letting out a snort as she poked his navel. “Okay, stop! I’ll tell you why I’m stressed.”
“That was easy,” Diana pulled her hands away and clapped once.
“I just feel like I’m not a good enough hero to be part of this group,” Barry let out after a few moments of taking in deep breaths, his lungs in desperate need of refilling. Diana frowned down at him, making Barry feel bad about his words.
“You are the greatest of heroes, Barry,” she said firmly, eyes full of pride. “You are one of the bravest men I have ever met. I am thankful to have you by my side.”            “Wait, really?”
“That is the truth,” Diana nodded, then pat him on the top of his head.
“Thank you, Diana,” Barry replied, though she was already walking away. Her job was done in her eyes, and while Barry was very confused by that whiplash interaction, he somehow felt better. Sitting up, Barry relaxed his shoulders and held his head high. He was a hero, and despite Diana not being the best at pep talk, she made him feel heroic, and for that, he was grateful.

OQM Playlist: Life during quarantine #20
With a new Life during quarantine playlist, Nick Triani focuses on football post-lockdown and the fortunes of his beloved Tottenham Hotspur
Tumblr media
Very Spursy The day after Bayern Munich put Barcelona to the sword and ended the era of the superhero footballer, it feels like a great time to reflect not only on football in these Covid-19 times, but more specifically my own team Tottenham Hotspur. Anyone who knows me understands my obsession with football and Spurs. My partner commented recently that I was much nicer at home during lockdown without football and that once the Premier League resumed in July, my mood occasionally erred toward the darker, edgier side of things. It’s true, the fortunes of my chosen team has a profound effect on me and the never ending 2019/20 season has been especially tumultuous for Spurs supporters in general. Yesterday, Amazon released the full trailer for All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur, a forthcoming warts and all behind the scenes TV series that looks at the football club over the last 12 months. And what a period that has been in the club’s history. Merely 12 months ago Spurs played in their first Champions League final, a pinnacle for the club on the world stage and for me as a lifelong supporter. Of course, in typical fashion, despite the heroics to reach the final, Spurs were very tepid in a drab match and lost to a great (but not great on the night ) Liverpoolteam.
Tumblr media
Everything is broken In his five and a half years at the club former coach Mauricio Pochettino had transformed Tottenham from an occasionally sparkling team to a contender that played a modern version of the football association with a youthful and skillful squad. Our biggest rivals ARSEnal football club were looking jaded after years of domination over us.  Plus Poch, as he became affectionately  known  by the fans, as well as being a prime team motivator, was a little sexy and showed real emotionwhich endeared him to us even more.
At the beginning of the 2019/20 season, after years of overachieving results with relatively small means, the results went North and our best coach of the modern era went North too. Enter stage left one of the most divisive football coaches of the modern era (and also one of the most successful in football history); José Mourinho. The former special one (nowadays dubbed the toxic one and much despised by the football community at large), initially brought pragmatic football followed by injury hit football and then, once football returned, a mostly successful counter attacking football which gives some hope for next season (only four weeks away people.)
I don’t mind José. Yes, he most certainly is a wind-up merchant, and if a pundit calls him a proven winner again, I swear I’ll…But he’s also an appalling human being masquerading as a slice of post-modern entertainment (which makes him fascinating in a way). The football he coaches can certainly be depressing and negative (shit on a stick), but that overused description of Mourinho being a star, works. He is rarely dull in conversation and doesn’t play the good guy. He’s the anti-Jürgen Klopp, the Dark Prince of football who lacks scruples and even some kind of heart (but still has lots of heart). Compared to the wet soggy abandoned dishcloth of Barcelona coach Quique Setién, Mourinho is electric. I’ll take him whilst he lasts.
Help me if you can But here is the rub: despite the precautions taken with a deadly pandemic involved and my own personal selfish joy at watching 22 grown men kicking a ball around an empty stadium, football’s restart post-lockdown does smack of the general contentious greed that afflicts society right now. The human race has gradually come round to thinking we can live with the pandemic and fuck the consequences. Capitalism is winning the safety argument and I wonder what world we’re leaving behind for my young children. Environmental concerns seem to be eternally on the backburner whilst we work out a way to abide by the virus and just live. Football, in its acquiescence to supply ‘entertainment’ to pander to nostalgic pangs of normality, doesn’t need to worry about losing its soul (that was lost decades ago). The rest of us who follow our multi-million teams are the ones I’m worried about. At what time do I start to feel disgusted by all this?

In The Net
I fell in love with a sport when I was in grad school at Indiana U. No, it wasn’t football (Indiana always sucks). It wasn’t basketball (even though IU was dominant back then). It wasn’t baseball or tennis. It was soccer, and IU had back-to-back NCAA championships. I went to many matches at the soccer pitch, and became a true fan.
Of course, I need to throw out a sidebar and issue an apology. “Soccer” is what we call it here in the States. The rest of the world calls it football, a far more appropriate moniker given that the players’ feet are making steady contact with the ball. It’s just that we already have a football sport, one in which an oddly-shaped ball is primarily thrown, and only kicked in special occasions.
But I digress.
As a result of my fandom, I went to many pro soccer matches back home in Chicago during the summer. The Chicago Sting of the North American Soccer League had lured German star Karl-Heinz Granitza to play for them, and the excitement was palpable.
Alas, even though soccer has been played in the States since the 1850s, and at the pro level since 1968, it has never taken off like the Big Four (football, baseball, basketball, and hockey). Even international stars like Grantiza in the 1980s and Pelé in the 1970s couldn’t propel the sport to national prominence. It mattered not if soccer was played at pro, collegiate, or youth levels, it just couldn’t gain traction. Americans prefer a different kind of sport, one with lots of points, and typically not with the finesse that is common in soccer.
If you have ever experienced watching or playing to a nil-nil draw, you know just how intense the play is, with ball-handling and defense on par with one another. It’s that many Americans find it all too tedious.
But not anymore. Soccer has enjoyed a rise in popularity, thanks to the success of the US Women’s team (and to a much lesser extent, the Men’s team). Better yet, and this is the really big news for soccer, the arrival of Lionel Messi. He captains both the Inter Miami soccer club and the Argentinian national team.
Tumblr media
And suddenly, soccer is grabbing headlines. Heck, Inter Miami’s Instagram account has more than 14 million followers, which is more than any professional sports team in the US. Take that, American football and the rest of you wannabes. More than 19,000 fans recently showed up at Toyota Stadium to watch Inter Miami and Messi take on FC Dallas, unprecedented for Cowboy-crazy Dallas.
What really matters for the marketers, though, is not so much how many butts in seats there were, but how many eyeballs were watching on television. Apple TV is enjoying a surge in subscriptions, thanks to its exclusive offering of Major League Soccer. Eyeballs can be advertised to.
Viewership of the US Women’s team in World Cup competition sagged this year, but that may very well have been because of inconvenient kickoff times, and not so much the sport. The time difference between New Zealand and Australia compared to the US was too much for many fans to overcome.
I am thrilled to see soccer finally gaining some level of success in the US. It has taken far too long. It doesn’t mean we should banish the sports that have long been popular here. It just means we need to get another chair for the dinner table. And with a growing Latin American population, for whom soccer is popular in their homelands, the sport is set to surge here now.
Besides, just like with the metric system, the US is the odd man out when it comes to the global arena. It’s high time we join the rest of the world. For the marketers to enjoy all those eyeballs, though, they need more players like Messi to put MLS on that stage. We—that means all of us—need to take the time to learn a little bit about the game, how to appreciate the style of play, and the method to the madness.Just like I did 35 years ago in Indiana.

Hockey is one of the most diverse sports in America.
Hockey is one of the most diverse sports in America. If you’re a democrat you can only see people’s skin color but American born players make up less than a quarter of the League. Hockey is a world recognized sport and an Olympic event, while the NFL only had 89 international players in the 2022 season. The NHL offers opportunities to people from 2nd and 3rd world countries that the NFL will never be able to do. I’ve also heard the NFL be compared to slavery.
Forcing certain outcomes is not equality and diversity. Giving everyone from any country in the world the opportunity to play and having multiple languages being spoken on the bench is true diversity. Both the NFL and NHL have more than 70% of their players all having the same skin color but only one is acceptable?
The author of this article is very biased calling out every flaw in the NHL while ignoring the sex scandals in the NFL and NBA. The author also makes a great argument that the team should reflect that of the city but does the Greenbay Packers accurately reflect their city? It’s a shame some people can look at others and only see their skin color. Player should be judged on the content of their character and their ability to play the sport.
Direct Quotes:
It’s Chance The Rapper, hosting “Saturday Night Live,” bundled up and freezing, playing an MSG Network basketball reporter named Lazlo Holmes, filling in as the rinkside reporter during a Rangers game. He knows nothing about hockey. He can’t pronounce Brady Skjei’s last name. He describes the action as “Lots of White dudes on skates running into each other at full speed; I don’t get it.”
The whole point of the SNL skit was to underscore how hockey is almost exclusively White, and has utterly failed to make any significant inroads into Black culture. The skit’s funny, for sure. But it’s laughing at you as a hockey league and as a hockey fan, not with you.
According to the report, 83.6 percent of league and team employees identify as White, with just 3.74 percent identifying as Black, 3.71 percent as Hispanic/Latino and 4.17 percent as Asian. Meanwhile, 36.81 percent of the league employees are women, and less than 4 percent of the league identifies as LGBTQ+.
As of last year, in the NBA, per the Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport: 82.4 percent of the players were people of color, fully half the coaches and half the general managers were people of color, and 32.5 percent of senior management were people of color. Also, 43.4 percent of employees in the league office were women, as were 39 percent of team senior management.
In the NFL, which has its own well-documented issues with hiring coaches of color despite the existence of the Rooney Rule, 40.9 percent of assistant coaches and 15.6 percent of head coaches were people of color. The league office has 31.1 percent people of color and 38.8 percent women. And team senior administration is 20.1 percent people of color and 25.3 percent women (a D+ by the TIDES scorecard). The players, meanwhile, are 70.7 percent people of color.
The league touts that four in 10 NHL fans are women, adding nearly 5 million women to its fan base from 2009-2021, and that female TV viewership across ESPN and TNT rose 61 percent last season. That’s terrific, but what are those women thinking when they read about the Hockey Canada scandal, secret slush funds for hush-money and the settled lawsuit over an alleged gang rape of a woman by eight hockey players, including members of the 2018 Canada World Juniors team? Nearly the entire roster of that team is currently in the NHL, and there are still no answers from an interminable, ongoing league investigation.
When a potential new fan — or new player — turns on a game and sees almost exclusively straight White men talking about (and, let’s be self-aware here, almost exclusively straight White men writing about) almost exclusively straight White men coached by almost exclusively straight White men and officiated by almost exclusively straight White men, they don’t see themselves represented. Chicago is more than 50 percent people of color, more than 50 percent women and about 7.5 percent LGBTQ+. The team looks nothing like the city. The broadcast looks nothing like the city.

[Clean language post]
Yes, and I know it has been a long while since I posted stuff on either here, or Telegram pages, or even YT since releasing the last of the Aaron of Live 12 tracks (and has used a new handle for music since then).
Do not get the wrong idea okay. These sites still do mean a lot, and the handle still matters, but just because I am not active on many SN sites does not mean I do not care about it or whatnot... I am very busy in pursuing both a DJ career and, expanding on this recently created Doujin project I’m creating from scratch. Also, this said project will contain among the heaviest and most intense music that I have ever created and produced and plan further productions to where I will create both clean and explicit tracks when this project launches properly, sometime in 2024, no fixed date as of yet.
No need to lie, but the main sport I’m still following this season is in AFL league matches, among other levels, of Australian Rules Football I mean. In truth, for the last 5 or so rounds of the season, it has been a very intense struggle in the midfield. And just like many others who follow with deep interest, this season has had an even higher stakes game of Snakes and Ladders, compared to last season. Also contrary to previous seasons, where I followed 2 or 3 particular teams per season, I’ve took a backseat with barracking this time, and if I’m going to be honest, at a personal level, I frankly don’t care to place deep support to any team anymore, as much of the experience of the sport recently in my mind, harbors a ‘wild rollacoaster’ ride, at greater frequencies than in recent seasons, and thus, exhibits more pleasure, pain, and unpredictability on the competitive side. More in relation to Sports events before I end the post. Poor standards have been shown so far in the Women’s FIFA WC, but I think that’s expected since all the sides who have competed in day 1, are all rather poor teams, including the host nations in my personal opinion. No interest in this season’s F1. Sennastappen, come Bahrain in 2024. Virtually no-one, be it drivers, or constructors, can stop the RBR powerhouse, even if occasionally the other driver is not in the same league as Sennastappen is. ------ In the following other Sports I found more positivity in it than in past years. Yes, Cricket for one, has improved in some essential aspects, but crowds I think are more derogatory and less honest than in previous years, which not only do I not approve of that, but also runs parallel to potential anarchy and straight-up war against the opposition, never mind about how high the quality of the actual Cricket that was playing then. Indeed, this also includes in the USA, where many elite cricketers are at competing in Cricket’s MLC, and in parts of England, for both the Men’s and Women’s Ashes matches. I hated the way the Mens Ashes in particular ended... the rainy weather interfering the great series that may have been, and personally I’m livid with it. Also privileged too to witness on TV, the IPL finale, delayed a day, but was still worth waiting for, as well as the way the match finished off, high-class, straight-up theater. And perhaps the best match of all, when Rinku scored five 6′s in the final over to inexplicably steal the match from what never should have been their victory. And I never, ever saw anything of that extreme in cricket, ever, including teams making, or agonizingly not making, that last run in the last ball of the chasing team’s inning. Enough there on that subject. The NHL, in Ice Hockey. Wrestling, both in the WWE and AEW, but not so, the MMA or Boxing ones. I must add, it has been over 6 years since last actively following any live developments of any Professional Wrestling events on TV, but at least the workaround I’ve found recently was just not to listen to it at all. The dog-gone profanity on virtually all the walls, as it has been in practically the entire history of such combat-based events, . But nevertheless I do still like watching the competitors, regardless of gender, battle, even if occasionally it ends under unfair circumstances. Yes, I am also going to add in the events of the PDC darts tournaments in, but only just, because I’ve seen the events in it this year as fractionally better than in last year overall. At the first main tournament, in the Grand Final match of it, both players in one of the legs, 9-dart attempts, where the first player missed by a thread, and somehow the other hits his/it’s ‘9th’ dart home, to what virtually all the folks have stated it as the best leg that they ever seen/watched, and if not, one of the greatest moments in Professional Darts history, period. But since that match, it’s been peaks and valleys, and I must say, it has been lower, more so than higher. In both main forms of Rugby League and Union, minor stuff which was changed up, and still feels very similar to the previous few years, for which I interpret as a small, yet important positive.
