WIP - Château de Bon-Hôtel

@denerdnr shared this build, partially furnished, and included some of their custom re-colours, leaving a lot to my own imagination and taste.

I have finished the ground floor, and wanted to share here with this post.

My builds are off the grid, playing ~the Victorian era - so I updated all the lighting to be off the grid etc.

I also haven't got around to learning how to make my own re-colours just yet - I'd like to try match my drawing room furniture a bit better!

Once I've finished the upper stories, I will be adding a barn so I can have a cow for milk, llamas for wool, and chickens for eggs.

On the next floor up, we'll have some bedrooms, rooms for music and relaxing as a family, then above that I'll build a ballroom and bar area, then in the attic will be staff quarters.

Château de Bon-Hôtel (Ligny-le-Ribault)

I discovered this château through an Instagram post about abandoned residences and immediately fell in love. I wanted to build it for a long time, but the rush of life stopped me. I finally did it! Hope you like it! Georges Dupré de Saint Maur, general councilor of the canton of La Ferté-Saint-Aubin and mayor of Ligny-le-Ribault, had the château built between 1875 and 1882. The building was initially designed to be a place for social receptions and more particularly a hunting meeting place. In 1923, the château, which at that time belonged to the Poniatowski family, was acquired by the Swiss industrialist Henry Burrus to indulge his passion for horse riding. The château has been listed in the inventory of historical monuments since 1991, but is currently abandoned (unfortunately).

I feel like yall don't know bout earthships??

An earthship is a building that's built out of recycled materials (glass bottles, old tires, cans, etc..) and mostly Cob walls with solarpanels, wind turbines, greenhouses, and large water capture system to ensure all you need within the walls. All these components help regulate the temp for both plants and you creating a proper oasis from all of itnall

Here's a good dissection of one to give you an idea

The most famous one, and one of the first ones ever made back in the 1970s by a small off grid group working together is The Phoenix which was built as the model for how cool these guys could be its now a place you can take tours or rent-

But now there is so many different styles and cool ideas for it! Now some of these are merely concepts

But you can adapt them to any weather for your particular light/weather/energy conditions.

The main thing about Earthships is typically they are illegal to build as the US government considers them waste sites due to the materials their built out of.

The Wild Children! Merida and Wild would get into soooo much trouble together, since they have such similar personalities. They both love adventuring, exploring, archery, and horseback riding! Queen Elinor and Twilight/Time would probably just vent about their crazy 'children' together.

I feel like out of all the boys, Wild would definitely be the most likely to get someone he knows cursed by accident. Also, he's ridden bears before (BOTW lol), and so when Merida tells him about all of her adventures, he'd probably get so excited like, OH MY GOODNESS YOU TOO?!

Also, if you don't understand what Merida is saying, she is basically just challenging Wild to hit an arrow into a far away tree 😂

I finally finished my exams!! 🥳 Can't wait to see what the poll results are so I can hopefully start on the next piece soon! Hope you all are doing well! 🩵

Off day every day

We've never seen a house quite like this 1991 off-the-grid cottage in Duck Creek Village, UT. 2bds, 1ba, $650k.

Look at the rooflines.

There's a lot going on in the living room. It's quite spacious and features birch trees. It's kind of whimsical.

We like the cheery spring green color. Even the log beams are painted.

This is fairytale-like. Look at the kitchen- there's a nice vintage stove- I wonder if it conveys. The decor is certainly maximalist.

Here we have a laundry room.

There are open wooden stairs in the living room that go up to the bedrooms and bath. It looks like they hastily added a makeshift railing with only 2 posts, though.

Wonder why they painted the tree trunks. They may have made a nice contrast. This room has a pitched ceiling but it's wide enough.

They do have a lot of lovely antiques.

This is the only bath and it's quite special.

Look at the rocks.

Is this the tub? It's a terrible photo. The roof/ceiling appears to be glass or some sort of plastic. You can see this room on the front of the house.

This very large room is the primary bedroom. Lots of area rugs cover the floor, and it appears to need some refinishing.

It's so large, there's a lot of potential. It looks like there's a new carpet rolled up against the wall.

According to the listing there's a shed.

And, there's also a chicken coop.

This is an outbuilding. Not sure if it's usable in its current state, but it could be a great guest house, rental, studio, whatever.

Here's a barbeque/picnic area.

This is called Stevens Canyon and it has great views.

Most of this beautiful land comes with the house- all 20 acres of it.

The house is right at the edge of it's lot. There's also a seasonal creek going thru the property.

I can’t get this montage out of my head.

Of you and Sylus, bathed in the afterglow of sex, tucked away in some island far away where his “family” resides.

Cuddling, your cheek pressed to his chest, hands splayed at his back, a smile rounding your lips. And he runs lazy fingers up and down your spine, kissing the crown of your head and murmuring the sweetest things there. You’re both watching the sunset as waves crash onto the shore beyond the safety of your beach bungalow; the air is thick with fondness.

Fast forward a bit, and you’re bounding around your bungalow tidying up, Sylus’s shirt sliding off your shoulders, and you’re oblivious to everything outside your earphones. Don’t notice Sylus watching you over crossed arms, leaning against the kitchen island. He’s smiling because you’re adorable, and your cute ass cheeks are spilling out of the bottom of his shirt. And he can’t help himself as he embraces you from behind, exhaling into your hair.

“What are you listening to?” he says all low, swaying your bodies to an unheard song. Snags one of your earphones, and a woman’s melodious, husky croon fills his ear.

Cue the montage of said song transitioning from a dull buzz in the earphone to something full-blown. It plays as Sylus sweeps you away in a souped-up El Dorado, and you’re sitting on the headrest, the breeze blowing over your skin as you dance to your favorite song. And Sylus reaches over to squeeze your knee from the driver's side, the content flicker in his eye hidden behind his shades.

Next, you’re doing a little jig at a restaurant by the window because you’re eating something delicious. And you’re wearing a beautiful, simple dress that boasts your curves, and Sylus can’t keep his eyes off you. Chuckles as he reaches across the table to swipe some sauce off your chin. You lock eyes like magnets drawn to each other, and the air grows thick with passion as the musicians playing at the restaurant shift tempo.

And then, you’re on a shopping spree. In a fancy boutique, doing a little twirl for him in a dress he couldn’t live without you having. And he’s all smiles and lowered defenses, motioning for you to sit in his lap so he can hold you to him and kiss you silly.

Then, you’re at the beach as the sun sets. At a local market, being surrounded by kids begging you to buy their seashell necklaces. And you’re laughing all pretty because they’re all adorable, and you somehow end up roped into a game of soccer with them, playing along the surf.

And Sylus just sits back like, damn, I think I’m in love. And he’s happy for moments like this when you both can steal away, falling off the grid for a little while. He likes it when he has you to himself.
