Drusilla sleeps with her eyes open
Even though Effie has a complicate relationship with food (not quite an eating disorder yet but something close enough) she is a stress eater. So during the Games season she goes from long periods of not eating a single bite to eating every single snack they had stacked. Peanuts, chips, dairy free cupcakes and thons chocolate bites
Haymitch started imagining Lenore Dove older because he forgot how she looked like when they were still teenagers. When he noticed that the hallucination started to look more like the seam women he usually saw everyday, and not with an accurate version of her aged face, he had a very ugly breakdown. He wasn’t imagining her right, he was just projecting everything he knew about older women in a face that he hoped to be hers.
When Peeta understood why Haymitch was freaking out so much, he made a research with the remaining Twelve citizens (including Clark Carmine) and painted a portrait of Lenore Dove for him. When Haymitch saw it, he cried like a baby for a week. He hanged it on his office
Grease Sae was Louella’s mother.
Effie was lactose intolerant, so she barely eats anything out of the tribute center —cause she doesn’t trust other peoples food (and when she has to, she packs her own food, just in case)
When Drusilla found out that Effie had taken her place as District Twelve’s Escort, she almost combusted. She felt stabbed in the back, since she had been the one to properly launch Effie into high society, so she made her personal goal to slut shame poor Effie whenever she could.
After a few years, Blair got married with the sweet and hardworking girl from the seam, with the gray eyes and nutty name. With her he had two kids, and died with the third on the womb. His oldest son was Gale Hawthorne, and when he and Katniss got together after his death, Hazelle could only see her husband and Burdock in their early days, hunting and playing in the woods.
Before Burdock’s death, he went to see Haymitch one last time. Although Haymitch refused to engage in any kind of conversation, Burdock asked him that, if something bad happened to him, if Haymitch could take care of his girls. He also told him that he would be Prim’s godfather if he wasn’t locked in that house trying to kill himself. Haymitch didn’t answered him, he closed the door on his face, and cried. A week later, the mines exploded and his friend died.
Effie had a lower-back tattoo. She did it when she was a teenager, and it was a good place because she wouldn’t have to look at the needle as she had it done. It probably would be some silly thing like “star girl” written in flowery letters
Haymitch’s first step to start healing was telling Sae about what truly happened with Louella

The last chapter we thought Akutagawa was finally letting go off his Dazai situation but now with this chapter it's like his problem came with full force
Wdym he wishes that he would hallucinate Dazai the way Atsushi hallucinates the Headmaster
Yeah I was also so confused when that happened, I actually felt like it was a whole step back in Akutagawa's development but now that I think about it, it really is the complete opposite
I think Akutagawa envied that Atsushi had visions of his abuser because at the very least it was like the Headmaster didn't leave Atsushi by himself, unlike Dazai did to Akutagawa. Akutagawa felt abandoned and confused when Dazai left, so I think it would make sense that Dazai appearing to him, even if only to belittle him, would at least feel like he wasn't completely abandoned and forgotten
I believe that Dazai appearing to Akutagawa right now is supposed to mirror how the Headmaster appeared in his real form to Atsushi just as he was finally accepting what happened to him and letting go of it. Akutagawa already understood what had to be done in the last chapter, and now he's finally accepting it. He's finally letting go of that image of Dazai that tormented him for so long, but not before getting his final moments with it.
Because, just like Dazai didn't see Akutagawa for what he was, Akutagawa also only saw a image of what he wanted Dazai to be, a saviour.
So yeah, it was confusing but I think that it wasn't a step back at all, I'm so proud of him for where he has got to 😭 (Btw I don't think Akutagawa is dead at all but thats for another post!)

Oh absolutely
my family doesn't like, sit down and talk about all out mental health issues, it's all done through 1-on-1 conversations
But in terms of blood relatives (not even counting people married into it), JUST my grandparents and people descended from my grandparents, 10/16 of us I know for sure have mental illness. If we are also counting life-altering trauma (where I don't know the details enough to know if the person has mental illness form it) then it's 14/16. On one side of my family.
Mental illness is WAY more common than people think it is. Like if someone is mentally ill and it's suspected to have any sort of genetic component, then absolutely they will have multiple mentally ill relatives, and that's not even getting into the role of inter-generational trauma and poverty.
I see those "every family has that one cousin who's severely mentally ill", but considering how my mom once made me promise not to tell the extended family that I had attempted suicide a week before my cousin's confirmation party (like they literally picked me up from psych ward to attend it, I changed from hospital clothes to party clothes in a truck stop bathroom on our way there) because "it would just upset people for no reason", I'm starting to suspect that some families are 100% mentally ill but everyone's pressuring their kids to not show any symptoms in front of the big family in order to save face.

White Horse - Chapter 4: June 2023
Pairing: Max Verstappen x Isabelle Leclerc (Original Character)
Summary:
Max Verstappen is a World Champion. Isabelle Leclerc is invisible.
She watched her family give up everything for Charles’ career—Arthur’s karting, their father’s savings, even her childhood horse. She understood. She never asked for more.
But Max does. He notices the things no one else does, listens when no one else will, and puts her first in ways she never imagined. With him, she isn’t an afterthought—she’s a choice. And for the first time, she realizes she doesn’t have to be invisible.
Warnings and Notes:
we have now moved on from Charles bashing to bashing his whole family, Discussions of the death of a parent, talk about loosing a childhood pet, toxic families...I think that's it?
As always big thanks to @llirawolf , who listens to me ramble
Tumblr media
The kitchen was a mess—takeout boxes stacked on the counter, two wine glasses half full, and Max barefoot, leaning against the fridge like he didn’t want the night to end.
Isabelle stood a few steps away, curled into the oversized sweater he’d lent her after she complained she was cold, even though they both knew it was just an excuse to steal something that smelled like him.
They’d eaten on the floor. Talked for hours. Laughed until she’d nearly dropped her chopsticks on Sassy, who had decided that Isabelle was her favourite human. It was one of those nights—unguarded and easy, where everything just fit.
Isabelle didn’t know what she’d said to make him go quiet—some small, unremarkable comment about how being with him made her feel like she could finally take a breath—but when she glanced up, Max was looking at her like she’d cracked open the sky.
“What?” she asked, smiling, suddenly self-conscious under his stare.
He shook his head slightly, still watching her.
And then he said it.
Quiet. Unflinching. Certain.
“I love you.”
Isabelle blinked.
The words landed so gently they didn’t make a sound—just settled between them, warm and heavy and real.
She hadn’t been expecting it. Not now, not tonight, not when she had rice stuck to her sweater.
But Max—Max looked like he meant it. Like he’d been waiting to say it. Like it had been there all along.
Her heart stuttered.
“You…” she started, then stopped.
Max didn’t move. Didn’t fill the silence. Just let her have it.
“I didn’t think—” she tried again. “I didn’t think you’d be the first to say it.”
He smiled softly. “Didn’t plan to. Just felt it.”
And that broke something open in her chest.
Because it wasn’t planned. It wasn’t grand or dramatic or wrapped in perfect timing.
It was just him. And her. And the quiet truth sitting between them.
She took a breath. “Say it again?”
He stepped closer, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. “I love you.”
And this time, she didn’t hesitate.
“I love you too.”
The smile that spread across Max’s face made her dizzy.
Then his arms were around her, lifting her off the ground just enough to make her squeal and laugh and cling to him tighter.
She kissed his cheek, then his jaw, then finally his mouth.
“I love you,” she whispered again, just to see the way he looked at her when she said it.
And it was everything.

Text Conversation: Isabelle Leclerc & Emilie Abadie
Isabelle: Max said “I love you” tonight
Emilie: WAIT
Emilie: WHAT
Emilie:  WHAT DO YOU MEAN MAX SAID “I LOVE YOU”
Emilie:  LIKE CASUALLY???
Emilie:  OR DRAMATICALLY???
Isabelle: casually
Isabelle: quietly
Isabelle: Like it was the most obvious thing in the world
Isabelle: I think I forgot how to speak for a full five seconds
Emilie: ISABELLE
Emilie:  Did you say it back???????
Isabelle: yes
Isabelle: After I made him say it again because I needed to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating
Isabelle: And then I said it
Isabelle: And then he looked at me like I hung the stars
Isabelle: And now I’m sitting in his hoodie trying not to lose my mind
Emilie: OH MY GOD
Emilie:  YOU’RE IN LOVE
Emilie:  HE’S IN LOVE
Emilie:  YOU’RE BOTH IN LOVE
Emilie:  I’M GOING TO THROW FLOWERS AT YOU NEXT TIME I SEE YOU
Isabelle: Please don’t.
Isabelle: You’ll wrinkle my outfit
Emilie: I love you
Emilie:  I’m crying
Emilie:  Also you saying “I love you” for the first time and then texting ME immediately after is everything
Isabelle: Of course I did
Isabelle: You are my emergency emotional processing hotline
Emilie: I’m framing this whole conversation
Emilie:  I hope Max knows he’s never allowed to break your heart because if he does, I will learn how to operate a pit stop jack and throw it at him.
***
Isabelle sat cross-legged on the couch, her laptop balanced on her thighs, her phone propped up beside her with a pronunciation guide open. She had told herself for weeks that she was going to do this. If Max was learning French for her, then she could at least try to learn some Dutch for him.
The problem was… Dutch was hard.
“De kat… zit op de stoel,” she murmured, trying to match the robotic voice coming from her phone.
Her brow furrowed. Did she sound anything like that? She hit the playback button again and repeated it, slower this time.
“De kat zit op de stoel.”
The voice app chirped happily, but she was fairly certain it was lying to her. She scribbled down the phrase in her notebook, along with the ten others she had attempted today. A lot of them had been completely useless sentences. Something about elephants drinking water. Another about red dresses.
And yet, she was determined.
She flipped to another tab, a list of common Dutch phrases. Her eyes scanned down to one she recognized immediately.
“Ik hou van jou.”
Her stomach flipped just reading it.
She already knew those words. Max had said them to her before—quietly, softly, in the safety of their world away from everyone else. She had understood them then, even without knowing the direct translation.
Still, she traced the words in her notebook, mouthing them to herself.
“Ik hou van jou.”
She barely noticed the front door opening until she heard Max’s voice calling her name. She scrambled to close the tabs, slamming her notebook shut just as he walked into the living room.
“Hey,” he said, his voice warm. He glanced at her suspiciously. “What were you doing?”
“Nothing.”
His brows lifted. “That was very fast.”
She kept her face neutral. “Just… reading.”
Max clearly didn’t believe her, but he didn’t push. Instead, he leaned down, pressed a kiss to the top of her head, and murmured, “Ik hou van jou.”
And even though she wasn’t ready to say it back in Dutch just yet, she smiled.
“I love you too.”

Text Conversation: Max Verstappen & Sophie Kumpen
Max: Hey, can I ask you something?
Sophie: Of course, sweetheart. What is it?
Max: It’s about Isabelle.
Sophie: Oh?
Max: Her family. The way they treat her.
Sophie: What do you mean?
Max: They don’t listen to her. They don’t take her seriously. She plans things for them, does so much, and they just… don’t acknowledge it. Like it’s expected.
Sophie: That must hurt her.
Max: It does. But she never complains. Just brushes it off like it doesn’t matter.
Sophie: Because she’s used to it.
Max: Yeah. And that’s what makes me so angry. She deserves better.
Sophie: She does.
Max: I just don’t know how to help.
Sophie: You already are.
Max: How?
Sophie: By noticing. By making sure she knows she’s valued. That’s more than they’ve ever done.
Max: But it doesn’t change them.
Sophie: No. But it changes her world. And that’s what matters.
Max: I just want her to feel like someone actually sees her.
Sophie: And she does. Because of you.
Max: I hope so.
Sophie: I know so.
Sophie: You love her, don’t you?
Max: Yeah. I really do.
Sophie: Then keep loving her the way she deserves. That’s all she needs.
Max: I will. But it still frustrates me.
Sophie: Of course it does. You care about her.
Max: Yeah, and I don’t understand how they don’t.
Sophie: I think they do, in their own way. But they’ve taken her for granted for so long that they don’t even realize it.
Max: That’s not an excuse.
Sophie: No, it’s not. But it helps you understand why she doesn’t expect anything different.
Max: I want her to expect more.
Sophie: And she will. Because you’re showing her what it’s like to be loved properly.
Max: I don’t know if it’s enough.
Sophie: It is. Trust me.
Max: I just want to protect her from all of it.
Sophie: I know, Maxie. But you can’t change them. You can only make sure she always has a place where she feels safe and valued.
Max: She does. With me.
Sophie: Then that’s all that matters.
Max: I hate seeing her hurt.
Sophie: And that’s why she’s with the right person. Because you see her.
Max: Always.
Sophie: Good. Then just keep doing what you’re doing. She deserves someone who fights for her, even if it’s just in the quiet moments.
Max: I will.
***
Max hadn’t really thought about saying it out loud until the words were already out of his mouth.
“I think I want to learn how to ride.”
Isabelle, who had been adjusting the saddle on the horse, froze. Then, very slowly, she turned to look at him like he had just announced he was retiring from racing to become a ballet dancer.
“You what?”
Max shrugged, trying to look casual. “I want to learn how to ride.”
Her eyes narrowed slightly, suspicious. “Since when?”
He hesitated. Since the first time he watched her ride, probably. Since he realized how her entire posture relaxed when she was around the horses, how she spoke to them with quiet affection, how they seemed to understand her without needing words.
Instead, he just said, “A while.”
Isabelle crossed her arms, still watching him like he might be joking. “Max, you don’t have to do this just because of me.”
“I know that,” he said simply. “But I want to.”
She was still studying him, like she was trying to make sense of it. Then, after a long pause, she let out a quiet breath. “Horses used to be the most important thing in my life,” she admitted, almost absently. “Until one day, they weren’t anymore.”
Max leaned against the stable door, waiting. Letting her take her time.
“I had a horse,” Isabelle continued, voice soft. “Blanche. I loved her more than anything.” She smiled faintly, but there was sadness beneath it. “She was stubborn but kind. She was mine.”
“She was a dapple grey,” Isabelle continued. “Not pure white, but close. Tall, strong, stubborn. The first horse I ever loved.”
Max didn’t say anything, just nodded, encouraging her to go on.
“She was mine for 6 years,” Isabelle continued, her voice steady, almost detached. “We grew up together. She was there for every fall, every scraped knee, every bad day. I thought we’d be together forever.”
Max shifted beside her. “What happened?”
“My parents sold her.”
Max stiffened. “What?”
What the absolute fuck was he listening to right now?!
“To pay for Charles’ karting,” she said plainly. “One day she was there, and the next she was gone.”
He could just stare at her.
He knew that Isabelle loved horses. She had mentioned that during their very first date. He had known that she still went to that stable outside Monaco at least 2 or 3 times a week for riding lessons.
But he hadn’t known…he hadn’t known that.
“They didn’t even tell you?” Max asked, fury burning deep in his gut.
They had taken away something that… something precious from her?!?
“Not until it was done.” Isabelle let out a short, humorless laugh. “They told me it was for the best. That Charles had a future in racing, and I could always ride again someday.”
Max swore under his breath. “That’s—” He exhaled sharply, shaking his head. “That’s not okay.”
“It was practical.”
“I don’t care if it was practical,” Max shot back. “They took something that mattered to you and acted like it didn’t.”
She swallowed. “It wasn’t just that they sold her. It was that they didn’t think I’d care enough for it to matter.”
Max’s hand curled into a fist, his knuckles white. “Did you ever find out where she went?”
“No.” Isabelle shook her head. “I tried asking, but they didn’t have answers. Or maybe they just didn’t want to tell me.”
Max was quiet for a long moment. Then, softer, “Did you stop riding?”
She hesitated. “At least, for a while. We didn’t have the money,” she said simply. “And later… I thought—what was the point, if it could all just be taken away?” She swallowed. “But when I went to university, I found a stable near campus. I worked there, just to be around the horses again.”
“You never told anyone?” Max asked.
She shrugged. “Emilie knows. You know,” she said simply. “I never told my family. It wasn’t…It was mine. For once, it wasn’t about Charles or Arthur or what my family needed. It’s just… mine.”
Max reached for her hand, brushing his thumb over her knuckles. She let him. “You should have never had to give that up.”
Isabelle just reached out for her lesson horse, a dark brown gelding that obviously adored her. “It was just how things were,” she said simply.
No anger. Not really. Just simple acceptance in her words.
Max didn’t think that he would ever have gotten to that point if the same thing had happened to him. If he had needed to give up racing for an older brother and didn’t get to go back for it for years.
He would still be utterly furious.
“That doesn’t mean it was right,” Max said sharply.
She just shrugged, going back to closing the girth on the horse.
He swallowed.
“I know I can’t change the past,” he said quietly. “But if this is something you love, I want to understand it.”
Isabelle’s expression softened. “Okay.”
Max smiled. “Okay.”
She smirked slightly. “Just don’t expect to be good at it.”
Max huffed a laugh. “I drive a car for a living. How hard can a horse be?”
Her laughter was warm, and it lingered even as she shook her head. “Oh, you are going to regret saying that.”

Text Conversation: Isabelle Leclerc & Emilie Abadie
Isabelle: …Max told me he wants to learn how to ride.
Emilie: LIKE A HORSE???
Isabelle: Yes, Emilie. Like a horse.
Emilie: OH MY GOD.
Emilie: wait.
Emilie: wait wait wait.
Emilie: He’s going to take LESSONS??? voluntarily??
Isabelle: He literally said, “If it’s important to you, I want to understand it.”
Emilie: Girl. GIIIIIRL. Do you understand what you have here?
Emilie: Men don’t do this. Men don’t do activities that don’t revolve around them unless they are deeply, hopelessly in love.
Isabelle: I mean… I thought it was sweet.
Emilie: Sweet? SWEET?
Emilie: This man is a two-time world champion and he is willingly signing up to be humbled by a horse just because you like them. Max Verstappen, the control freak, is about to have his entire ego destroyed by a pony.
Isabelle: I did warn him that it’s not easy.
Emilie: please tell me you’re taking him to the stable soon. I need this. The world needs this.
Isabelle: He’s already asked when we can go.
Emilie: Max Verstappen riding a horse. Max Verstappen falling off a horse. Max Verstappen developing a rivalry with a horse.
Isabelle: You’re getting way too much joy out of this.
Emilie: I’M RIGHT AND YOU KNOW IT.
***
Max Verstappen had done a lot of things in his life that required balance, control, and sheer nerve.
Driving a Formula 1 car at over 300 km/h? No problem. Threading the needle between two cars on a soaking wet track? Easy. Taming a thousand-pound animal with a mind of its own?
Apparently, impossible.
“This is ridiculous,” he muttered under his breath, shifting awkwardly in the saddle.
Isabelle, who was standing beside the horse and very obviously trying not to laugh, gave him an innocent look. “What’s ridiculous?”
Max shot her a glare. “This. Everything. All of it.”
Her lips twitched. “You’ve only been on for five minutes.”
“Feels like an hour,” he grumbled, adjusting his grip on the reins.
He had expected this to be easier. It was just riding a horse, right? He was an athlete, for god’s sake. His coordination was elite. His balance was second nature. How hard could it be?
Answer: very hard.
He had barely gotten onto the horse without embarrassing himself, and now that he was sitting in the saddle, he felt bizarrely out of control. The horse—an old, patient gelding Isabelle had assured him was "perfect for beginners"—shifted slightly, and Max tensed like it was about to take off at full gallop.
Isabelle sighed, reaching up to adjust his posture. “Relax. You’re sitting like you’re bracing for a crash.”
“I would rather be in a crash,” Max muttered.
Isabelle ignored him. “Loosen your grip on the reins. He’s not going to run away.”
Max loosened his grip. Immediately, the horse flicked an ear back and took a step forward. Max panicked.
“What is he doing?”
“Walking.” Isabelle’s voice was far too amused.
“Make him stop.”
“You make him stop,” she said, smiling sweetly. “Use your seat, not just the reins.”
Max had no idea what that meant. His instinct was to lean back and pull. The horse stopped, but not before giving an exaggerated huff, like it was exasperated with him.
Isabelle patted the horse’s neck. “Good boy. He’s trying his best, unlike someone.”
Max scowled at her. “I am trying.”
“Try harder.”
He glared but adjusted his posture again. Isabelle instructed him to nudge the horse forward, and when he hesitated, she rolled her eyes and demonstrated on the ground.
It took a few attempts, but eventually, Max managed to get the horse moving in a slow, steady walk.
“This is good,” Isabelle said encouragingly. “Now just—”
The horse sneezed. Loudly.
Max, unprepared for the movement, nearly lost his balance. “What the—”
Isabelle was laughing now, actually laughing. “He just sneezed, Max.”
“He tried to throw me off.”
“Right, of course.”
Max muttered something in Dutch that his mother would have washed his mouth out with soap for.
She walked alongside him, giving him small instructions, but every time the horse did something unexpected—took a deeper breath, flicked its ears, shifted its weight—Max tensed like it was about to bolt.
After what felt like a lifetime, Isabelle finally called an end to the lesson. When Max slid off the horse, his legs wobbled slightly. Isabelle definitely noticed.
She patted his arm, barely holding back a grin. “Not bad for your first time.”
Max sighed, running a hand through his hair. “I’m never going to live this down, am I?”
“Not a chance.”
He groaned. “Fine. When’s the next lesson?”
Isabelle’s eyebrows lifted in surprise. “You’re actually going to keep going?”
Max shrugged. “I don’t like losing.”
She grinned. “I was hoping you’d say that.”

Text Conversation: Max Verstappen & Christian Horner
Christian: Max.
Christian: Please, for the love of everything holy, do not fall off that horse and break any bones.
Max: …Good morning to you too, Christian.
Christian:  You are a Formula 1 driver. You are worth millions in contracts and sponsorships.
Christian: And now you are willingly climbing onto a large, unpredictable animal that could throw you off and break something.
Christian: WHY are you on a horse?
Max: Because I wanted to learn.
Christian: You do not need additional risks in your life.
Max: I’m being careful.
Christian: That doesn’t answer my question. Why are you doing this?!
Max: You ride.
Christian: Yes, but I’ve been around horses for years. You, on the other hand, decided this completely out of nowhere.
Max: Not really.
Christian: Not really?
Christian: What am I missing here?
Max: …
Christian: Max.
Max: Hypothetically speaking, if you loved someone and they had a passion, wouldn’t it be nice to learn about it too?
Christian: I don’t need you breaking an arm trying to impress your girlfriend.
Max: I’m not trying to impress her. I just… wanted to learn.
Christian: Max.
Max: I already have good balance, fast reflexes, and control over my body. It’s just… a different skill set.
Christian: You drive for a living.
Max: And now I ride for fun.
Christian: …You really like this girl, don’t you?
Max: More than anything.
Christian: Fine. Just—helmet, body protector, don’t be an idiot.
Max: I already wear a helmet for a living.
Christian: Yes, and yet you still manage to make my blood pressure spike on a regular basis.
Max: My girlfriend says I’m improving.
Christian: You know what? Fine. Whatever.
Christian: But I swear, if you turn up to a race weekend with a limp and I have to explain to Helmut that you got bucked off a horse, I’m going to lose my mind.
Max: …So that means if I do fall, I just shouldn’t tell you?
Christian: MAX.
Christian: So, how long have you been seeing her?
Max: A while.
Christian: A WHILE?!
Christian: Max, you’ve had a girlfriend this whole time, and I’m only now finding out because of horses?
Max: You never asked.
Christian: That is not how this works.
Christian: But… you’re happy?
Max: Yeah.
Christian: And she’s good to you?
Max: Very.
Christian: …Okay. That’s all I need to know.
Max: Just like that?
Christian: Max, I’ve spent years watching you put everything into racing. You’ve never let yourself slow down. If you’ve finally found someone who makes you want to do that—even just a little—I’m happy for you.

Max: Yeah. She said you were always a little quiet at karting races, so she wasn’t sure if you’d be weird about it.
Isabelle: She remembers me?
Max: Of course she does. She likes you. Said you were nice.
Isabelle: …
Max: So are you going to follow her back, or should I tell her you’re ignoring her?
Isabelle: MAX.
Max: I’ll tell her you’re playing hard to get.
Isabelle: MAX EMILIAN.
Max: She’ll think it’s funny.

Instagram DM – @/isabelleleclerc →  @/victoriaverstappen
Isabelle: Hi, uhh… this is Isabelle. Leclerc.
Isabelle: this might be the weirdest message I’ve ever sent someone, but I figured… if anyone would understand, it’s probably you.
Victoria: Hi!!  I want to meet the girl who makes my brother this happy, but Max has been keeping you all to himself!
Isabelle: …He talks about me?
Victoria: Constantly. But in a Max way, so it’s more like, “She’s incredible, but she doesn’t believe it”.
Victoria: Oh, and my favorite: “I don’t know how I got this lucky.”
Isabelle: …He actually said that?
Victoria: He actually said that.
Victoria: What do you need? Blackmail material? I have plenty. I imagine that there is a good reason why you are sliding into my Instagram dms.
Isabelle: I need help with Dutch.
Isabelle: Max has been learning French.  Like, properly. Quietly. Seriously. He pretends it’s casual but I’ve caught him watching French YouTube videos and writing down verb conjugations in Notes. And—well—I kind of want to return the gesture. So. Would you maybe be willing to help me with a little Dutch?
Victoria:  Okay, first of all: this is absolutely NOT weird, it’s adorable.
Victoria:  Second: I would love to help.
Victoria:  Third: I’m going to send you a list. You’ll be fluent in romantic, slightly sassy Dutch in no time.
Victoria:  And if you ever need help pronouncing anything, just send me a voice note.  Sister-in-law privileges and all that.
Isabelle: You’re amazing. Thank you so much.
Isabelle:  Also—I’ll absolutely take you up on the voice notes. But only if you promise not to laugh too much.

Pre-race press conference Transcript - Canadian Grand Prix 2023
[Scene: Pre-race press conference. Max Verstappen is seated alongside Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc, and George Russell.]
Journalist: “Max, there have been some rumors that you’ve been spending time with some horses recently. Can you confirm or deny?”
Max: [Sighs, then nods] “Yeah. I tried horse riding recently”
*[Lando immediately chokes on his water. Charles and George exchange wide grins before the laughter starts.]
Lando: “Please tell me there are videos.”
Max: [Deadpan.] “Yes, I have been on a horse. And, in case you’re wondering, I have no talent whatsoever.”
Lando: [Wheezing.] “Oh my god. This is the best thing I’ve ever heard.”
Charles: “Wait, but like… how bad are we talking?”
Max: [Shrugs.] “It’s way harder than I thought. The balance, the movement, trying not to fall off… And trotting? It’s horrible.”
George: [Grinning.] “The bouncy part?”
Max: [Dead serious.] “The bouncy part.”
Lando: [Nearly in tears laughing.] “I need to see this. Max Verstappen getting humbled by a horse.”
Charles: [ thoughtful.] “So… are you done, or—?”
Max: [Clears his throat, avoiding eye contact.] “I… I am taking lessons.”
*[Immediate chaos. Lando actually slides out of his chair laughing. Charles stares in shock. George is shaking his head, grinning.]
Lando: “YOU’RE TAKING LESSONS?!”
Charles: “Oh, this is amazing.”
George: “I have never respected you more.”
Max: [Shrugging, trying to play it cool.] “Well, I sucked at first. But I figured I should at least try to be decent at it.”
George: [Teasing.] “And how’s that going for you?”
Max: [Sighs.] “I am still terrible.”
Charles: [Grinning.] “But you’re improving?”
Max: “...Not really.”
Lando: [Absolutely delighted.] “This is better than winning a race.”
***
The door clicked shut behind Max as he stepped into their apartment, exhaustion lining his features but the unmistakable glow of victory still in his eyes. Red Bull cap slightly askew, and his bag hung off his shoulder. He barely had time to drop it before—
“Welkom thuis, kampioen.”
Max freezed.
His head snapped up, eyes locking onto Isabelle, who stood a few feet away, hands nervously clasped in front of her. She looked stunning—she always did to him—but right now, all he could focus on was what she just said.
“Say that again,” he demanded, stepping closer.
Isabelle bit her lip, suddenly shy, but she straightened and repeated, “Welkom thuis, kampioen.”
Max blinked. His hands were still mid-motion, as if he'd forgotten what he was about to do. “You’re speaking Dutch.”
She shrugged, trying to play it off. “A little.”
Max just stared at her, stunned. His heart was racing—not from the adrenaline of winning, but from this. From her. He swallowed, his throat suddenly dry.
“You learned Dutch?” His voice was softer now, almost reverent.
“I slid into Victoria’s instagram dms,” Isabelle admitted sheepishly. “She’s been helping me.”
Max let out a short, breathless laugh, shaking his head. “Of course she has.”
“I wanted to surprise you,” she continued, shifting nervously on her feet. “You’re always learning French for me, and I just thought… I should try, too.”
Max moved before she could say anything else, closing the space between them in an instant. His hands cupped her face, his thumbs brushing against her cheekbones. His lips crashed against hers, not just in gratitude, but in pure, overwhelming love.
When he pulled back, his forehead rests against hers. He was smiling, wide and radiant. “You have no idea how much this means to me.”
Isabelle smiled back, breathless. “I think I have some idea.”
Max grins. “Say something else.”
She hesitated for half a second before murmuring, “Ik heb je gemist.”
That did something to him.
Max exhaled sharply, his grip on her tightening. His jaw clenched, like he’s trying to keep his emotions in check, but his voice betrayed him when he murmurs, “Isabelle.”
“What?” she asked, suddenly worried she said it wrong.“Do you like it?”
Max huffed out a laugh, shaking his head. “Are you kidding? I love it.”
“Good,” she said, growing bolder. “Because ik hou van je, Max.”
Max freezed for the second time that night. His breath caught, and for a moment, he just stared at her. Then, something shifted in his expression—something softer, deeper.
“Say it again.” His voice was quiet, almost pleading.
She smiled. “Ik hou van je.”
Max let out a shaky breath, his forehead dropping against hers.
And then he kissed her again—slowly this time, like he was savoring every moment, every syllable of her Dutch, every part of her. Because he didn’t need to say it out loud for her to know:
Ik hou van je, ook.

Red Bull Racing Video – "Max Verstappen Answers Fan Questions!"
The video opens with Max Verstappen sitting casually in a Red Bull Racing hoodie, arms crossed, a can of Red Bull next to him.
Interviewer: "Alright, Max, we’ve got fan questions for you. Ready?"
Max: grinning "Let’s go."
Interviewer: "First question—what’s something new you’ve tried recently?"
Max: shrugs "Horse riding."
Interviewer: laughs "Really?"
Max: smirking "Yeah. Turns out, it’s harder than it looks."
Interviewer: "And why exactly did you try horse riding?"
Max: casually "My girlfriend rides."
Interviewer: "Oh? That’s new information."
Max: grinning, taking a sip of his drink "Next question."
Interviewer: "What’s your go-to post-race meal?"
Max: "Pasta. Preferably good pasta."
Interviewer: "Define ‘good’?"
Max: mock serious "Not made by me."
Interviewer: "What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you?"
Max: thinking "I actually enjoy sim racing just as much as real racing."
Interviewer: *"I think everyone knows that, Max."
Max: laughs "Yeah, fair enough."
Interviewer: "What’s your favorite thing about Monaco?"
Max: "It’s home. It’s quiet when I need it to be."
Interviewer: "Last one—what’s the best advice you’ve ever received?"
Max: "Surround yourself with the right people and focus on what really matters."
Interviewer: "And you feel like you’ve done that?"
Max: grinning slightly "Yeah. I think so."

The sun warmed the white stone path leading through the cemetery, birds chirping gently in the background as Isabelle made her way to the familiar headstone tucked beneath a slender tree.
Six years.
The ache hadn’t gone away—it had just changed. Softened. Settled. It lived with her now, quietly, like a shadow that didn’t ask for attention but never really left either.
She knelt in front of the headstone, brushing a bit of dust and pollen off the smooth stone. No frills, no flourishes.
“Bonjour, Papa,” she said quietly, placing the bouquet down. White roses, lavender, and the soft green of eucalyptus. The kind of flowers that looked like peace, not performance.
She sat cross-legged in the grass, like she always did, tugging at her dress to keep it from wrinkling and resting her elbows on her knees. The breeze pulled gently at the hem of her dress, tugging her hair loose from its clip. “Six years.”
She exhaled slowly. The ache wasn’t raw anymore—it was worn in, like a bruise she didn’t flinch from, but never quite forgot.
“I’ve been thinking a lot about you lately,” she admitted. “And not just today.”
Her fingers picked absentmindedly at the grass beside her, pausing at a small patch of dandelions. “I used to come here and pretend I only had good memories. I think I did that to protect myself, and you. But I don’t think I have to do that anymore.”
“Maman’s… still Maman,” she began, her voice light, like she was easing herself into it. “She misses you more than she admits. Though she hides it behind self-help books and gift-wrapped life advice… She got me a pantsuit for my birthday, by the way. Black. Structured. She knows I don’t wear trousers unless I’m working out. I think she thinks if I dress like a different person, I’ll be one.”
A small pause. Then a sigh.
“She also gave me a book. How to Be More Assertive. You’d have laughed. Or said nothing and nodded. Which is worse, probably.”
She looked down for a moment, voice quieting.
“The boys are alright. Arthur got into Formula 2. He’s thrilled—he’s already planning how to outshine Charles. He won’t, but I like that he dreams like that. It reminds me of you, sometimes. And Charles…” she smiled, but it was tinged with something bittersweet, “he placed fourth in Canada. Said it like it was a tragedy. I think he forgets how much he’s already done.”
Her fingers stilled. “And Lorenzo is still Lorenzo. Always the calm one. The problem solver.”
The silence stretched, until it turned heavier.
“You probably already know, but... I never really forgave you for Blanche.”
Her voice didn’t shake, but it softened.
“I know it wasn’t easy. That money was tight. That you wanted Charles to have a chance. But Blanche was mine. You didn’t even ask. Just said she’d gone to a good home and expected me to smile about it.”
She swallowed.
“I was thirteen. And I didn’t have much that was mine. You took the one thing I loved and gave it up for someone else’s dream.”
A breeze moved past her, rustling the eucalyptus leaves.
“But I know you didn’t mean to hurt me,” she said after a while. “You were doing what you thought was right. You always put racing first. Always.”
She stared at the ground for a moment, lips pressed together.
“I used to think that made you a bad father. But now, I think it just made you… human. Flawed. Stubborn. Messy. You were trying to hold a family together by chasing a finish line.”
Her voice cracked just a little. “Sometimes I wish you'd seen me more clearly.”
And then—after a long pause, a small smile ghosted across her lips.
“I met someone.”
Her eyes stayed on the headstone, like she needed to say it just right.
“I haven’t told anyone yet. Not Maman. Not the boys. It’s still just ours right now.”
She pulled her knees up to her chest and rested her chin on them.
“His name’s Max. Max Verstappen. I know you knew him—you used to talk about how talented he was in karting. You said he and Charles were ‘the kind of rivals who’d make each other legends.’ I remember. You always respected him.”
“He’s competitive, sure. But there’s kindness underneath it. Stillness. And when he looks at me, it feels like… like I’m not invisible.”
Her voice softened.
“He’s not like people think. He’s quiet. Kind. Steady in a way I didn’t know I needed. And he listens. Like—really listens. He even started learning French for me. Just… because.”
She smiled, quietly.
“I think you’d be surprised. Not just that it’s him. But that I’m happy. Really, truly happy. It doesn’t feel like I’m shrinking anymore just to keep other people comfortable.”
She stood slowly, brushing off her dress, gathering herself.
“I’m happy, Papa. I didn’t know I could be, not like this. I just wanted you to know. You don’t have to worry about me anymore.”
She bent to press her fingers lightly to the cool marble.
“I’ll come back next year,” she said. “Same day. Same flowers. Maybe a different story.”

ts is very random but i js wanna say i lvoelvoe LOVEEE ur stuff so much i lowk think im spam liking my bad.... BUT I LOVEEE THE WAY U WRITE SAE pls dont explode i like u
“𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐯𝐞𝐳"
Tumblr media
a/n: THANK YOU SO MUCH, I LOVE WRITING FOR THAT GRUMPY NONCHALANT BOY THAT PLAYS FOR MADRID
so i was like yk what... pls take this sae oneshot bc i've had it in my drafts and it's been a while since i made one + i love you so much
(art credits go to niceblueme on X)
you were not, in fact, thriving in madrid.
you had landed three hours ago with a carry-on, overweight suitcase, five pinterest boards, and zero actual spanish skills. your phone’s roaming was failing, your translator app had mysteriously stopped functioning the second you needed it most, and you were currently sitting on a park bench, not sightseeing, not exploring, just crying.
the tears weren’t dramatic. they were more like a steady stream of existential regret leaking from your eyes while you stared at a metro map like it had personally betrayed you. you sniffled, loudly. a tourist group passed. a pigeon stared at you judgmentally.
“solo trip,” you muttered under your breath, voice thick, “for personal growth, i said. it’ll be freeing, i said. i’ll find myself.”
what you found was that your high school-level duolingo phrases were useless when someone at the train station shouted directions at you like a bullet train.
and then you heard it – that voice. cool, bored, unmistakably familiar.
“… why are you crying in retiro park like a lost kid?”
your heart stopped. then jolted. then immediately filled with a mix of horror and confusion. because turning toward that voice, sunglasses shoved up on his head, looking every inch the effortlessly rich and probably emotionally unavailable man he always was, stood sae itoshi. in madrid.
“wha–” you blinked at him like he was a hallucination. “are you real? am i dehydrated and imagining you?”
he blinked right back. “you think your hallucination would be me?”
“you’re not exactly the poster boy for emotional comfort,” you sniffed.
“and yet you’re still crying in front of me.”
he said it without a single ounce of judgment. just that same even tone. unreadable expression. except... you could see it now, beneath the surface – the tiny twitch of concern. the soft furrow of his brow. sae itoshi, the quiet enigma of a midfielder, was standing in front of your tear-streaked, language-confused self and not running in the opposite direction. a miracle.
“how are you here?” you finally asked, dragging a sleeve over your face.
“i live here.”
“… wait, you live in madrid?”
“i play for real madrid.”
you blinked. then sniffled again. “oh. right. soccer.”
“football.”
you gave him a look that said don’t start, and he actually cracked – the smallest smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth.
“i saw you from across the park,” he said casually, like this was normal. “you looked like you were about to punch a tree.”
“i might.”
“want to punch me instead? it’ll distract you.”
you almost laughed. almost. instead, you sagged with a sigh. “i got lost. i asked a woman for help and she spoke so fast, and then she waved her hands around and pointed in seven directions and i tried to nod like i understood but i think i agreed to buy her niece’s goat.”
sae blinked. “goat?”
“i don’t know, man. i just wanted to see the palace.”
he stared at you for a long second before saying, “you really came here alone without learning any spanish?”
“i learned how to ask for the bathroom and say ‘i’m sorry.’ that should’ve been enough.”
“you’re lucky i found you first.”
you paused. “why? were you gonna save me?”
he gave you a flat look. “i am saving you.”
and true to his word, he did. because twenty minutes later, you were sitting in a quiet café tucked into the side streets of madrid, sipping something warm and far too fancy for your budget, listening to him speak to the waiter in fluent, smooth spanish.
“so,” he said eventually, after the silence turned warm instead of awkward, “are you gonna cry every day of this trip or just when i’m around?”
you narrowed your eyes. “you’re enjoying this way too much.”
“a little.”
“do you always stalk crying tourists in parks?”
“maybe.”
the silence stretched, thick with something new. not tension. not awkwardness. just the lingering weight of something unfinished.
“are you free this week?” he asked suddenly.
you blinked. “what?”
“if you’re going to get emotionally destroyed by every street sign in madrid, someone should be around to translate.”
you stared. “you’re offering to be my tour guide?”
“i’m offering to make sure you don’t cry in another public park.”
“… same thing.”
sae just shrugged. “think of it as community service.”
and maybe you should’ve said no. maybe you should’ve held on to your pride, or your carefully planned itinerary, or whatever scraps of dignity you had left.
but instead, you smiled. full, real, and probably a little stupid.
“okay, midfielder,” you said. “but only if you promise not to laugh if i cry at the royal palace.”
he leaned back in his chair, eyes glinting in the sunlight.
“no promises.”
the next day arrived and you’d expected him to cancel.
maybe wake up to a text that said “nvm. good luck out there.” maybe an excuse about training, or a shrug in emoji form. but no, sae itoshi was on time.
8 AM sharp. standing by your hotel entrance in an outfit that screamed old money, hands in his pockets, sunglasses on despite the cloud cover. too cool for this planet.
“ready to not get lost?” he asked, voice dry.
“ready to cry at every historical monument.”
he didn’t even flinch. “can’t wait.”
you expected the awkwardness to follow. the stilted silences, the fumbled small talk, the weight of your past interactions (or lack thereof) hanging in the air like fog. but it didn’t happen. instead, the whole day passed like some weird dream – easy. ridiculous. warm.
sae walked you through cobbled streets, translating signs and muttering sarcastic commentary under his breath.
“that statue’s from the 18th century,” he told you.
you tilted your head. “who is it?”
“some guy who’s been dead a while.”
“... thanks, tour guide.”
he waited patiently while you got distracted in gift shops. corrected your pronunciation when you tried to order food (“it’s con jamón, not ‘with hamón’ like it’s a guy’s name”), and even took a picture of you in front of the royal palace – grumbling, but doing it anyway.
and through it all, he never once treated you like a burden.
in fact, it started to feel like he liked this. like he liked you.
you didn’t say it out loud. didn’t want to break the spell. but by the time sunset rolled around, and you were sitting on the rooftop of a tiny café overlooking the city, your heart was doing things. embarrassing things. girlish things. things you thought you’d grown out of.
“you really live here?” you asked, watching the sky turn gold.
“yeah,” he said quietly. “for now.”
you turned to look at him. “do you like it?”
sae’s eyes were somewhere far off. “it’s quiet. people leave me alone. that’s what i wanted.”
“and now?”
he was silent for a beat. then: “… it gets lonely.”
your heart squeezed, but you remained quiet.
the city buzzed below, full of life and people and sound. and beside you, sae itoshi, the boy who never said more than three words unless forced, looked like he had a thousand unspoken ones.
you swallowed. “so… what happens when my trip ends?”
he didn’t answer.
“will you forget me?”
still no answer.
you stared down at your drink, throat tight. “i don’t want to go back and wonder what would’ve happened if i’d stayed.”
he looked at you, then. properly. eyes dark, unreadable, but soft in the way you hadn’t dared hope for.
“then don’t go,” he said simply.
your breath hitched. “what?”
“stay a little longer.”
you laughed, nervously. “sae, i can’t just–”
“yes, you can.”
he said it so confidently. so stupidly, unshakably sae.
“you came here without speaking a word of spanish. cried in a public park. asked for ham like it was a person. and you’re telling me you can’t stay?”
“sae–”
“you’re not scared of being here. you’re scared of wanting to stay.”
you hated how well he could see through you.
“you think this is a vacation crush,” you muttered. “you think this is just the city and the sunset and you being nice for once.”
he leaned in. “then stay and find out if it’s not.”
your heart pounded in your ears. you didn’t kiss him. not yet. but you smiled. watery, nervous, full of the kind of hope that made your chest ache.
“… okay,” you whispered. “i’ll stay.”
and sae, ever unreadable, let his eyes linger on you a second longer.
then he nodded.
like he’d already known you would.

the thing that's been most surprising to me with mouthwashing so far is how little empathy people are willing to extend to curly. and i don't mean this in a piss on the poor way, i'm deeply saddened and genuinely confused by it.
when i first played the game i was at one of the lowest points i've been at in a really long time. my mental health is bad my physical health is bad. i experienced SA a year ago and was recently diagnosed with cancer. i have 2-5 doctors appointments every week with various specialists.
all the while me and two of my doctors are talking about if i need to make a career change that's going to best support my poor health and improve my overall well being. and my family and friends struggle to understand, because i have a doctorate and a good job and live on my own. everyone looks at my life in awe, and they don't understand why i'm unhappy. they tell me so every time i try to explain it.
so when i played i immediately identified with curly. here is a man who's deeply depressed, having hallucinations, trying to reach out to his best friend for support but just has his words thrown back in his face, doesn't want to burden anya with his stuff because she has her own stuff and he wants her to lean on him, he has all these responsibilities and people look up to him and rely on him and have these ideas about him. the highest wrung of their ladder is the lowest of his, and they have no way of conceptualizing why or how he's unhappy and dissatisfied. before the reveal that he's innocent, i completely understood why he attempted suicide.
and then he develops a new disability.
when jimmy goes to crash the ship, he uses curly's unhappiness to try to convince him a murder-suicide is a good idea, and it works. it buys jimmy enough time to get to the cockpit and crash the ship. curly's too in his own head to realize what jimmy meant because jimmy distracted him with how bad his life is. it isn't until the sirens start that curly snaps out of it and it clicks for him what jimmy's done.
i'm not going to re-litigate the issue about if curly could have done more for anya because i've said pretty much all i have to say on it already.
but we really need to highlight that in addition to his lack of tangible choices, he's sleep deprived, deeply depressed, and hallucinating. this is not a man in his right mind making his best choices.
and over and over again i see people refusing to extend him any empathy, to call him a bystander. does a man who says he'll do anything to help and who wanted to be there when anya broke the news and who does his best to play liaison between anya and jimmy sound like a bystander? he let anya keep the gun case! he knew having it would help her feel better!
how good of a friend have you been when you were in your pit of despair? how much were you able to pour into others when your glass was empty?
anya wanted her and curly's support to be reciprocal. if she has enough psych training to do the evals, and having been thru nursing school, she's probably well aware that she and curly need to both be pouring into each other if either of them are going to be any good to anyone. but curly is so determined to defend and protect anya he won't confide in her, despite the fact it's running him so thin that he almost takes jimmy's bait that suicide is a good idea.
i don't think we need to absolve curly of his responsibility. i don't think we should over look his role as an enabler. i don't think we should discredit or discount analyses of his failures. but i'm so tired of people actively avoiding getting in his shoes, getting in his head, reflecting on how they've acted in the past when thinking and feeling similar ways. our worst moments don't make us monsters.
it makes me so sad. and frankly it makes me feel like all the times my family hasn't understood when i've tried to reach out. curly is screaming in agony and just like jimmy we're just trying to keep him quiet because it's too complicated to deal with.

Horror/Eerie st0ry prompts:
(feel free to use<3 tag me when yall writeee )
"[name], w-why is there blood on your face-"
hyperventilating because your feet just touched blood but there's no body.
"it-it's--fuck, it just moved-"
"stop breathing at my ear, [name] --" and turning around to find nobody beside you.
looking at the mirror but the reflection isn't. looking. at. you.
"we need to get out, this is--a bad idea!"
being stuck in a nightmare.
"don't look back, please, i b-beg you, 'name', don't!"
"look at me-no! hey, no, don't, just focus on me, okay? okay, u got this!"
talking to a person and suddenly they turn weird-their face, and voice changes. their eyes turn white.
learning about whatever that is haunting you
"Do you know (an item that you found) belongs to?" and their face go white. "how. did you. find this."
"we need to run, you moron!"
lights flickering so hard
hallucinating shadowy figures
having your actions controlled by a shadow figure that's moving right outside your room
finding dark bruises all over your body you have no recollection of getting (ok but whys this creepy as fck)
having all things shake violently, fall and break
that gut feeling something is following you (if ure that mc, you'll def go investigating what it is. which DEF WILL GET YO ASS IN TROUBLE)
^ or that it might be progressively getting darker as you walk down a road where not a single life is seen
blacking out and waking up somewhere else
if you lift your head up and acknowledge it's presence-then you're done.
you blink once it's there. you blink again it's not but when you blink once again, it's on top of you, choking you.
"i shouldn't die, damn, i haven't even had my first kiss yet TT " (the comedic relief friend in horror stories lmao)
"are you haunted ?! sigh. do i need to save you? " "if you're not gonna piss your pants, yes please."
"if it ever comes between you and me-" "I'm-" "choose you." "obviously choosing you." "no. no! you are choosing you or i am going in there without you. i don't need to lose you too. understood?" ".... okay."
crying out loud, heaving and shuddering but nobody can see you breaking down
having blood smeared all over you
having to watch yourself slowly loose your identity and go paranoid
not being able to be alone anymore.

Stacy’s mom… is a butch?
—————————————————
Contains: Fingering, strapon sex, risk of getting caught, cheating, age gap, breeding kink, daddy kink, possessive kink, rough sex. Most notably, mention of a character topping despite not really liking it, but in the end all stone related boundaries are respected within the action of this story. Enjoy!
———————————————————————
Wren had been dating Stacy for 6 months when she decided it was time to meet the family. Things has gotten pretty serious, after all. They saw each other multiple times a week, their friends had met, they had a beautiful candlelit 6 month anniversary dinner, it was the natural next step. And Wren Loved Stacy. Probably.
She hadn’t said it yet but it had to be true, right? It didn’t matter that she never quite felt that spark that people talked about, but that’s more a myth and a turn of phrase… right? Stacy was easy, comfortable, like a best friend. And the sex was… pretty good! All things considered. Wren had never been easy to please or quick to orgasm, not like Stacy. And she was sure that guilty twinge she got when she topped was just a little leftover perfectionism, because she wanted to please her girlfriend so badly.
Everything was going perfectly. Or as close to perfect as could possibly be expected.
Nothing could have prepared her for meeting Stacy’s mom.
She had been warned that Stacy’s mother was an old fashioned butch dyke, and not to be intimidated by them. Apparently they had gotten pregnant as a teen and came out a few years later, raising Stacy with a revolving door of girlfriends her whole life. When Wren saw them herself, she understood why they never seemed to be lacking for a woman.
Tall, short hair, thick arms undoubtedly filled with muscle and broad shoulders filled the doorway as Wrem stumbled her way through introducing herself. How could she not stutter and blush? The perfect image of a butch, dominant and suave was staring down at her with piercing eyes and a 50’s greaser aesthetic. For a moment she forgot she was standing with their daughter’s hand on her arm.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, ma’am. Thank you for welcoming me into your home.” She managed, sticking a hand out awkwardly.
They laughed, mouth twitching into a smirk, and shook her hand firmly. “Please, call me Sir, not ma’am.”
“Y-yes sir. Of course”
Wren tried not to think about how large their hand was, tried not to look like she was getting wet from a handshake.
Stacy just rolled her eyes and grabbed Wren’s arm, pulling her away from the butch’s strong grasp and inside the house towards the stairs.
“Ignore them,” she said, “They like to fuck with people, they think it’s fun. Let me show you my room, babe!”
Wren let herself be pulled away from the doorstep, but allowed just the quickest glance back. Her breath caught when her eyes met theirs, watching her go with the smirking expression of a predator who just spotted their next prey.
——
Wren tried to convince herself she was fucking crazy. Her girlfriend’s mom? Really? What kind of lesbian lunacy was she on now?
And of course Sir wouldn’t be interested in her, a femme half their age who was dating their daughter. The thought alone was insane. The way they had looked at her in the doorway was just her brain playing tricks after the long drive over. No, it was definitely all in her head.
She kept telling herself that the entire first week of the stay.
She imagined them staring at her while she sunbathed in the back yard in only a bikini.
She made up the time they grazed a hand over the small of her back while passing her in the kitchen.
She dreamt of a time when they complimented her dress before her and Stacy went out to the club, and the way their gaze dragged down her body with unconcealed lust.
She hallucinated when she found herself almost pinned against the wall of the hallway, hot breath ghosting over her lips as they wiped some chocolate from the corner of her mouth, large thumb nearly slipping between her lips before they walked away without another glance.
Eventually though, some things get impossible to deny.
Like the day they watched a movie together. The three of them, squished like sardines on the small couch facing the TV. Wren was in the middle, Stacy fast asleep next to her, and Sir on the other side, wide awake. A blanket draped over all three, keeping it cozy as period action clanged out from the television.
The movie was good, but not entertaining enough to make Wren not notice the brush of fingertips against her bare thigh. Not her girlfriend’s fingers, theirs.
She tried not to change her breathing, pretend like she didn’t notice. It could just be a innocent graze.
Those rogue fingertips drifted up the outside of her thigh, calloused and rough against her soft skin, then dragged down between her legs.
Not innocent.
Her breath caught. She could feel their gaze on her but she tried to keep her eyes glued to the screen, terrified that any acknowledgment of what was happening would make it stop. Their fingers pressed against her clit through the fabric of her shorts and underwear. She gasped, her eyes flicking to her sleeping girlfriend.
“She won’t wake up.” They whispered, barely audible over the TV’s noise.
Wren didn’t respond, she couldn’t fathom how to gather a single coherent sentence. Instead, she slowly opened her legs as wide as she could without disturbing Stacy. They got the message and chuckled softly, dragging their hand up to her stomach then diving underneath her clothes. The track of their fingertips felt burned into her skin. Even though they touched her lightly, she wondered if it would bruise and give away her filthy new secret.
Their fingers pushed past her clit and dipped into the wetness gathered below. She was dripping, sitting next to them for an hour with their shoulder against hers had already been tantalizing enough to get her desperate. They massaged over her folds and clit, exploring, drawing shuddering breaths from her lips.
“Do you want more?” They breathed against her ear. She burned with guilt and pleasure as she nodded.
One thick finger slowly pushed inside her. So much larger and somehow warmer than Stacy’s fingers. She slid down in her seat to help the angle as they start to shallowly thrust inside her. They soon added a second finger that stretches her deliciously, her eyes fluttering closed as ripples of pleasure spread through her body. She still can’t look at them, but she can feel their hot breath on her ear and face and her neck. She wonders if they’ll kiss her.
They push a third finger inside her and she can’t help but let out a squeaky moan. Stacy shifts, and the fingers in her pussy stop moving immediately.
Stacy rubs her eyes and groggily asks if the movie is still going on. Sir answers.
“Yeah it’s got like an hour left, why don’t you go to bed honey? We’ll finish it then head up after you.”
Wren nods, unable to speak and hyper aware of how her girlfriend’s mom’s fingers were stretching out her pussy beneath their shared blanket. So deep inside and just barely grazing her g-spot with how they curled.
“Yeah, okay that sounds good.” Stacy says, detangling herself from the blanket while barely opening her eyes. She leans down and kisses Wren on the mouth, Wren clenches involuntarily on the thick fingers inside her. “Goodnight babe.”
“Goodnight.” Wren Squeaks, trying and failing to keep the tension out of her voice. Luckily, Stacy is too tired to notice. She slowly stumbles up the stairs and moments later the door to her bedroom clicks shut.
Wren lets loose a ragged sigh of relief that turns into a low moan as the butch’s fingers start to move at a brutal pace. Faster than before, and curling deep inside her each time.
“That was close.” They growl, then hot lips connect to Wren’s neck and she feels herself ramping up to the quickest orgasm she’d ever had in her life. She bucks her hips into the palm of their hand and tilts her head so they can access more of her neck. With each thrust the base of their hand grinds against her clit until sparks fill her vision. The orgasm hits her like a truck. She clenches around their fingers, own hands twisted in the soft blanket.
In the aftershocks they pull the blanket back and extract their dripping wet fingers from her pussy. She gasps in ragged breaths, not sure what would happen next, only certain that she just experienced the best orgasm of her life with the last person in the world she should have.
“Clean them up for me.” Sir purrs in her ear, touching the wet fingertips against Wren’s open mouth. She obeys. She opens her mouth wide and sucks greedily on each finger as it’s presented to her, tasting herself. Stacy hated when she sucked on her fingers, but they let out soft groans as they watch her head bob while she meticulously licks her own cum off. Their clear arousal at her enthusiasm gives her a rush of courage. She takes all three fingers in her mouth at once, almost gagging on the length, and she makes eye contact for the first time that night.
It flips a switch in them. Only a moment after those piercing eyes meet hers, she’s straddling their lap with those rough hands moving all over her body, pulling off her flimsy pyjama shirt and leaving her breasts exposed to the cool air. They grope her chest roughly, pinching and twisting her nipples as she squirms against them. With a shock she realizes they’re hard packing. Stacy never used a strap. No matter how much Wren begged and pleaded, she didn’t like the way it brought men into the bedroom. But grinding her hips down on the hard plastic in their pants now, Stacy knew there was nothing man about this. This was all Butch. This was what she wanted.
She decides to own it, to take advantage of this butch and everything they were offering her. She wants it. She wants it all. So she digs her sharp nails into their back as they take a nipple into their mouth and suck. She drags her nails through their short hair as they leave hickeys all over her chest. Fuck it.
They grab her hips and lift her to her feet, then pull down her shorts and panties so she is left standing completely bare in front of them. The way they look at her body sets her on fire. Utter desire. Complete dominance.
She sinks to her knees between their legs and unzips their fly, peeling back the rough denim until a long, thick strap pops out. Her hands then travel up their torso, slipping beneath the white T-shirt and just barely grazing warm skin before their large hands stop her. She looks up with concern, worried that reality had sunk in and they had decided this was too much, too wrong. But instead they put her hands back on their waist, on the outside of their shirt.
“I don’t like to be touched on the first time. I need to know a girl better. And even then, I don’t bottom.” They explain, a twinge of pain in their eyes. They’d had this conversation before and it had not gone well.
But Wren didn’t feel disappointed, she felt warm tingles spread through her body. Comfort. Freedom to not do anything she wasn’t fully comfortable with. To fuck and be fucked without guilt.
“Do you kiss?” She breathes, completely captured by their eyes and messy hair and warmth radiating through their clothes.
“Yes. Do you suck strap?”
“I’ve never tried, but I want to.” She says, shifting her gaze down to the long silicone cock only inches from her face.
“Give it a go, pretty girl. I’ll reward you with a kiss.”
She nods, feeling her wetness dripping on the hardwood floor. Never in her life had she experienced arousal like this. With one hand she takes the strap, slowly pumping it like she’d seen people do in porn. Leaning in, she licks up the underside, then swirls her tongue around the head. Her eyes flick up to see their reaction, pleased to find their mouth hanging open and chest heaving. Without breaking eye contact, she takes the strap deep into her mouth until she gags. Then again, and again, taking it a little bit deeper each time. Their hand tangled in her hair, pushing her further onto their cock. Her hands grip their thighs through denim as she gags continually and tears run down her cheeks. They use her hair to pull her off and smile at the sight of her watery eyes and the drool connecting her mouth to the strapon. Wren smiles back. This is what she wanted.
They lean down and grab her hips, easily tossing her onto the couch next to them. Crawling on top of her, they spread her legs apart and slot themself between so the strap pokes at her entrance but doesn’t quite slip in. Wren moves her hips, needing something.
They kiss her.
Her world melts away. The perfect kiss, so teased and anticipated, bruising, dominant, attentive. She arches her back and wraps her arms around their neck. Almost twenty more years of experience kissing makes a master, their tongue slipping in and out of her mouth, they read her like kissing girls is their first language.
After an infinity or maybe just a few minutes she breaks away, “Please fuck me. Please Sir, I need it.”
They chuckle, “As you wish, baby.”
Strong hands grip the backs of her thighs, pushing them up to her chest, she grabs them and holds them there instinctually. They line up the strap with with her pussy, dragging it through her wetness.
“So fucking wet for me. Who knew my daughter’s girlfriend was such a slut.”
Wren whined, guilt and pleasure and desperation mixing to create a headrush. They laughed at her pathetic expression, and push deep inside.
She had never felt a stretch like that. Never been so impossibly full. She could suddenly understand what people meant when they described sex as rearranging their guts. With the strap fully seated inside her and the masculine weight looming over her, she knew she would never be able to fuck a femme again.
They hooked her legs over their shoulders, and grabbed her face with both hands. This position is a mating press, she knew that much. Her poorly repressed breeding kink raged to life just thinking about it. She melted when their eyes caught hers and she saw that they were just as affected by all this as she was, the hunger in their eyes vivid.
“Are you ready for this? I’m going to knock you up, pretty girl.”
She nearly came on the spot. “Yes yes yes please Sir, knock me up please.”
They responded by driving their hips forward.
Wren held on for dear life as waves of pleasure ripped through her body. She forgot about her girlfriend upstairs and moaned with each impact of their hips against hers. The base of the harness rubbing against her clit sent extra zaps of pleasure shooting up her stomach and down her legs. She had never felt pleasure like this. Never been fucked like this. They knew exactly what pace to keep and how to flick their hips to hit spots inside she had never known existed. The pressure kept mounting so she bit hard into their shoulder and dragged her nails down their back, claiming them, pushing down her screams of pleasure. They moaned loudly and fucked her harder, moving one hand from her face to her neck.
Putting pressure, they pulled back to look her in the eyes. “You’re with my daughter, and I’m about to get you pregnant. You should really start calling me daddy.”
Shame and guilt and extreme arousal brought tears to her eyes. “Yes daddy.” She moaned, her whole body burning in every way possible.
They kissed her hard then looked at her with that crooked cocky smile, the same way that they had looked at her in the hallway that first day. Like she was theirs.
“That’s my good girl.”
Wren came so hard she thought she might die. Her vision went black and every muscle in her body tensed and released all at once. Wave after wave crashed into her until she felt like she was floating outside of her body, but they kept fucking her at a brutal pace, drawing it out even further.
“Say my name.” They growled, their face flushed and thrusts getting sloppier, her pussy squelching obscenely with each movement.
She could barely think but managed to whine “D-daddyyyy!”
They thrust deep one last time and stayed there as they convulsed on top of her, ragged breaths hitting her neck.
They both stilled for a few minutes, catching their breath in silence. Eventually, they moved her legs off their shoulders, instead looping loosely around their hips. They didn’t pull out. Wren could feel her used pussy throbbing and clenching around the strap as they buried their head in her chest. Little kisses and bites trailing between her nipples, making her twitch and sometimes whimper. She traced imaginary patterns along their scalp, down their neck to the collar of their T-shirt, then back up again.
The movie was over, credits rolling by to a cinematic score. Reality started to sink back in. She had just fucked her girlfriends mom. On her girlfriend's childhood couch. With her girlfriend right upstairs, hopefully still asleep despite how noisy they had gotten.
In fact, her girlfriend's mom's strap was still inside her treacherous pussy.
She lifted their head from her chest and looked them in the eyes, “What now?”
They didn’t answer, simply leaning forward and claiming her mouth. Every thought and feeling of guilt melting away with the sensation of their tongue sliding over hers.
Everything was perfect.
They started thrusting again, slow and languid, sending aching pleasure rippling through her tired body.
“You’re mine now.” They breathed against her lips.
“Yes daddy.”

Aaron's Speech
Aaron Hotchner x fem!reader Genre: whump, prepare your tissues kind of whump. hurt to comfort? what's comfort anyways? Summary: Aaron was certain he knew what love was - until Haley died. He loves you. But he still loves her, too. Warnings: clear signs of deep depression, PTSD, trauma, self-neglet, survivor's guilt, grief, mentions of 5×01 and 5×09 Please please please do not interact with this fic if you struggle with any of these. Word Count: 3.9k Dado's Corner: I... I don't know. It's a lot. Grab your tissues. This might be the most heart-wrenching thing I've ever written… and honestly, I’m a little scared of my own brain for managing to hallucinate this. I went back and forth on whether to post it because it just felt too much... :)))) I ended up adding a little extra at the end (something fluffy & domestic) just to take the edge off. But it’s still bittersweet. More bitter than sweet.

Plato wrote, "I mean to propose that each of us in turn, going left to right, shall make a speech in honor of Love."

Aaron wasn’t sure how to make sense of the fact that the very job that had stripped him down to nothing was also the reason he could still touch you like this.
That the same job that had taken… her, that had nearly taken his son - was also the reason he could still slip under the covers with you and lose himself just enough to relieve the stress of your days.
It wasn’t intimacy, not really.
Not in the way it was meant to be.
It was a release, a fleeting reprieve from the thoughts that never stopped, from the memories that threatened to drown him if he let them sit too long.
Sometimes, it was rough - driven by nothing but the desperate need to feel something, anything. Other times, it was slower, gentler.
But one thing never changed - he always kept his shirt on.
A week ago, it had been long sleeves. The scars were only on his torso, but for a long time, that hadn’t mattered. He had fought the urge to cover everything, to disappear beneath the fabric.
He felt dirty. He was dirty.
Didn’t want to see them. Didn’t want you to see them.
The only times you had were when he had no choice - when he was too weak, too drained to tend to them himself.
Then came the day he finally found the courage to face his reflection in the mirror. When he told you he could handle it now - that he had to - you hadn’t argued. You had only pressed a soft kiss to his lips before watching him disappear into the bathroom. You didn’t say a word. You trusted him. Had to trust him.
And when he came back, you kissed him again.
You still did. Every time.
Even today.
It had become a ritual – an ineffable I’m proud of you, a way to be close without needing to be there physically. Because even if you weren’t, your mind always went there.
You hoped he applied the medication carefully.
Hoped that, in tending to himself, he showed the same meticulous care he gave to you - the way he would sit you in a warm bath, wash your hair, run his hands over your skin with a gentleness so at odds with how he treated himself.
He gave you devotion. You wished he gave himself even half of it.
You hoped that every time you heard the water running, it was only to sterilize his hands - that he wasn’t standing over the sink, letting the antiseptic swirl down the drain, just enough to make it seem used, just enough to fool you. You knew he wasn’t stupid.
You had been more cautious ever since the day he caught you in the bathroom, turning the bottle over in your hands, checking for dents, for any proof that he was actually using it.
He hadn’t been angry. He understood. It wasn’t about distrust - not really.
If the roles were reversed, he knew he would have done the same.
…No, actually, he didn’t even need to imagine reversing them. He had checked. More than once. Because he wasn’t sure if he trusted himself anymore.
Because ever since he started tending to them on his own, he never let you see his scars again.
Maybe some subconscious part of him feared that if you did, you wouldn’t want him anymore.
Or maybe because he didn’t want to remind you - of what had happened to him, of the fear in your eyes, of the way your hands had trembled the first time they traced the edges of his pain.
Or maybe it wasn’t even about you.
Maybe he was afraid that if you saw them again, your mind would go back to the past, to the before, to all the things he lost…
…And, inevitably, to her.
Haley was only a problem because he made her one.
She was never a threat to you. You had never felt the need to compete with her because you understood something he probably never would: that a heart as vast as his had room for both of you.
That was simply part of loving him - even before everything that happened, even when they were just divorced - loving him meant sharing space in his heart with Haley.
And that was enough. More than enough. You never needed or wanted all of it.
He was the one who couldn’t reconcile it.
One true love.
It had been carved into him as a child, a belief so deeply rooted that no amount of logic could ever fully undo it. Sure, he could scoff at it now, call it outdated, tell himself he was too rational to believe in something so absolute.
But some lies told to us as children settle too deep to simply unlearn, and for Aaron, it was this: that love - true love - could only happen once.
And he hated that it had been her.
Not because he regretted loving her, but because it made him feel as though loving you somehow diminished that first love - or worse, that it made you her replacement.
You weren’t.
You were nothing like her. You were only you.
And yet, both of you had looked at him with the same kind of eyes - the kind that saw too much, worried too much.
And sometimes, despite himself, he wondered if that was why he fell in love with you.
Because of those eyes. To keep those eyes in his life.
But just as quickly as the thought came, so did the guilt. Not just because it wasn’t true, but because his mind had dared to go there at all.
…But if it had gone there, it meant some part of him believed it.
And he hated that.
Hated overanalyzing it.
Hated the way his own mind twisted something simple, something pure, into something that needed justification.
Hated that he had to dissect his love for you just to convince himself it was real, when he already knew it was.
Because it was real.
He hadn’t fallen in love with you because of anything you shared with her - he had fallen for you because of everything that made you you. Maybe he had even fallen harder once he realized that.
If Reid could see inside his head, he would have some scientific explanation for all of this. Something about neurochemistry.
He would tell him that guilt was irrational, that love was nothing more than a biological process designed to make humans bond, reproduce, and survive.
But that was what he hated most.
Not the surviving part. Not just the thought of contributing to the same human species that had created the kind of monsters he locked away every day.
Though, on the worst nights… maybe that too.
What he hated was the idea that it all boiled down to a few chemical formulas, a handful of C’s and O’s arranged on a page. That somewhere out there, a person could take one look at the sequence and know him, know the core of who he was.
Bullshit. That couldn't be possible.
Not when he wasn’t even sure he had a core anymore.
What was there to read?
Aaron had spent a lifetime believing love was what the poets described - the grand, the eternal, the tragic. Yet only… after everything that happened… had he begun to understand what they truly meant.
The Greek tragedies, the sonnets - some resonated so deeply now they ached, others felt so hollow he wondered how he’d ever admired them… how he had ever believed love could be so naïve.
Maybe, in the end, a few chemical bonds and molecular chains would have been simpler. Maybe they would have told him more about himself than poetry ever could.
How simple it was - that the tears he left on your skin, warm against your sternum as he pressed his face into you, could be reduced by science to nothing more than water and salt.
As if that could explain why he was crying.
As if it could account for the guilt gnawing at him, the shame of being allowed to break against you while your own tears slipped down your cheeks, unseen, as you stared at the ceiling.
As if it could break down the only closeness he could offer now - the desperate act of syncing his unsteady breaths to yours.
He just wanted to be your rock again.
Maybe science had a way to explain the guilt - the shame of falling apart in your arms, of letting you hold him, pull him closer, your fingers threading through strands of hair that hadn’t been this long in three years.
And then, the moment your hands unconsciously drifted too low - past the nape of his neck, following the path they once knew so well, tracing the lines of his back-
It wasn’t you touching him anymore.
But it was you. You were safe. You were here.
And still, his body jerked up.
It wasn’t fair.
No matter how much he wanted to surrender to your touch again, no matter how much he wished he could unlearn the fear, his body still braced for a blade instead of your hands.
Maybe science had a way to explain why.
Maybe it could name the way his body had learned to fear something it once - and still - craved more than anything.
Maybe there was a chemical formula that could define the way you both whispered "sorry" at the same time whenever it happened.
Maybe there was an equation, an angle, a perfect placement for the carbon bonds that could explain why, after flinching, after failing, he reached for your wrist. Why he brought it to his lips, pressed a kiss to the thundering pulse beneath your skin.
The skin was thinner there.
Maybe, if he kissed deep enough, his apology would sink into your bloodstream, carried by the oxygen in your blood, traveling through your veins until it reached your heart - so you’d know.
That he loved you.
He loved you, he loved you, he loved you.
And he needed you.
Needed your hands back on every inch of his skin - even on the places his mind dragged him back to, bleeding out on the carpet of his own living space, where he was assault-
“Aaron.”
“Hmm.”
“I want hot chocolate.” You shifted, sitting up on the bed, stretching your arms above your head. “And I need your help cutting the chocolate. Come on.”
Nothing still.
So you reached over, patted his head, ruffling his hair. “You know I never get the pieces small enough… get up.”
You didn’t even like chocolate that much.
But he did.
Aaron Hotchner, with his unreadable expressions and haunted eyes, had the biggest sweet tooth you had ever known.
It was one of the first things you noticed about him - the way he’d sneak sugar into his coffee when he thought no one was looking, the way he never turned down dessert, the way he’d order an extra pastry under the guise of “Jack will like this” when Jack wasn’t even there.
Hot chocolate was easy.
Because cutting chocolate into tiny, even pieces was something his hands could still do.
The day he finally handled a knife again without flinching, you had seized every possible excuse to make him keep doing it - to ease him back into muscle memory, to give his hands something to focus on. Just like now.
Him, and all of his ghosts, disappearing into the rhythm of slicing through a bar of fondant chocolate.
"See? When you cut it this small, the chocolate doesn’t fray. How do you do that?" You leaned in, watching him work. “Wait, was this your specialty back in SWAT?”
Nothing. Again.
God forbid anyone joke about his very secretive time in an all-men squad of alpha males, big guns, tactical gear, night vision-
“You want me to show you?”
You nodded.
You expected him to explain from where he stood, maybe demonstrate with another piece - but you hadn't expected him to step behind you. Once, maybe, but not now.
And yet, here he was.
Did not expect to feel his warmth again - his body against yours, his chest flush to your back, his breath ghosting over the shell of your ear, his huge hands slipping over yours, guiding them to the handle of the knife.
"It’s in the pressure," he said, curling his fingers around yours, adjusting your grip. "Too much, and it crumbles. Too little, and it slips. You want the blade to do the work."
Damn. It was so intimate, so familiar-
God, this felt like… like one of your first dates. Back when he was still - no.
You swallowed, pushed the thought away, and focused. Followed his movement, feeling the blade glide through the chocolate beneath your fingertips - clean, effortless - perfect.
Just like his.
"There," he murmured. "Like that." And then, a kiss to your hair. "You did good."
So did he. God, he did. And you were so proud of him.
So you picked up one of the pieces he had helped you cut, rolling it between your fingers before holding it out to him.
"Quality check."
You had never fought back tears so hard as when you felt it - the smallest huff of breath against your hair. A sound, barely there, but unmistakable.
The closest thing to a laugh you'd heard from him all day.
You would cut all the chocolate in the world if it meant hearing that sound again.
And maybe you would - because he could have easily taken the piece from your hand himself.
But he didn’t.
Instead, his lips ghosted over your fingertips, his tongue dragging over your skin far too slowly as he caught the chocolate - before his teeth closed down, just sharp enough to be obnoxious.
That stupid bite.
Familiar.
The same bite that always made you swat him away, roll your eyes, mutter his name in exasperation.
The same bite that caught your fingertips every single time you offered him one of your fries, because Aaron Hotchner - who pretended to be far too above it - always ordered a salad as a side, only to spend the whole meal subtly eyeing your plate.
He would never ask for one, of course. God forbid.
So you always caved, sighing as you picked up a fry and held it out toward him, fully intending to place it onto his plate like a normal person.
But he never let you.
Instead, he would catch your fingers midair, biting down - not hard, but enough to make you yelp, enough to make your head snap toward him, enough to make you curse his name loud enough that the people at the next table would turn to look.
And then - as if he hadn’t just eaten out of your damn fingers in public – he’d sit back, napkin in hand, dabbing the corner of his mouth.
“Shh,” he’d say. “We’re at a fancy place. Can’t you see there are no prices on your menu?”
Condescending. Smirking. Like he wasn’t the one causing all the drama.
The same insufferable piece of shit he had always been.
And maybe that’s why you didn’t swat him away this time.
Maybe that’s why you just stood there, breath caught in your throat, only managing to turn around and stare at the glimpse of a ghost you hadn’t expected to see.
You knew it was temporary, just a matter of time before the weight settled back over him. But still- still, for a moment, you just watched.
His kitchen was now so quiet you could hear the crisp snap of chocolate between his teeth, the exaggerated hum of approval he always did just to startle you, always holding eye contact, watching – waiting - like your reaction was more satisfying than the chocolate itself.
“What?” he asked, furrowing his brows.
Under the yellow glow of the kitchen lights, his eyes looked lighter - a softer brown, warm in a way you hadn’t seen in far too long. You could see the few flecks of green – a similar shade of the untouched, steamed bitter greens he always left on his plate at fancy restaurants.
Could you even tell him?
Could you say that, for just a second, he wasn’t trapped in his own head, and that alone made you want to cry?
Of course not.
So you just shook your head, swallowing the lump in your throat.
"Nothing," you murmured, turning back to the counter. "Just…. don't think you're getting more if you're gonna keep biting me."
“Then maybe you should stop feeding me like a child.” He huffed, leaned against the counter next to you, unbothered… almost – smug?
Hotchner humor. This must be Christmas.
"Oh, forgive me, Your Royal Highness, how would you prefer to be fed?"
"Well, if I had to suggest something…" he drawled, gaze dropping to your lips, "you could be more creative with it."
No way. You couldn’t believe it.
"Creative?"
He nodded. "Mhm."
No way.
You picked up half a piece of chocolate, pressed it between your lips - hesitated.
Maybe this was too much. Maybe the moment would crack, fragile as it was. Maybe you’d gone too far, been too reckless.
But still, you held his gaze, tilting your head ever so slightly, offering.
And waiting.
Before you even realized it, his lips were on yours, closing over the other half of the chocolate, pressing just enough to steal more than you had offered.
Asshole.
But God, did he take his time.
His tongue flickered over the chocolate, then back over you – unhurried - before he finally pulled away, his breath still so close you could almost taste the cocoa all over again. Wow.
“…Creative enough?” you managed.
Aaron slowly ran his tongue over his half-brown bottom lip. "It’s a start."
…A start.
Maybe it was. It felt like one.
Also because Aaron stayed close, studying your face, searching for something in your eyes.
If he found what he was looking for, he didn’t say. He just looked at you a moment longer and gave you one last smile.
A goodbye - not to you, but to your eyes, because in that moment, they looked too much like hers.
And maybe a part of him had always been waiting for this moment - when he could finally look into that gaze, your gaze, and know without hesitation that it wasn’t hers. That it had never been.
So he let go of the thought.
He reached past you, plucking another piece of chocolate from the cutting board and popping it into his mouth like nothing had happened.
Like he hadn’t just left something behind.
"You should finish cutting the rest," he said, unfazed by your exasperated "Aaron."
"Me?"
"You did well enough." He nodded, though you knew him well enough to catch the hint of teasing in his voice. "Besides, I should get the milk on the stove…. can’t have you burning it again."
You scoffed. "That was one time, and only because your stove is way too strong."
"You say that every time you cook here… which, if I’m counting correctly, is once a week."
"You’re exaggerating," you muttered, but you still reached for the knife, rolling your eyes as you started chopping again.
Silence.
Silence until Aaron turned toward you as he poured the milk into the pot.
"…Thank you for what you’re doing for me. I don’t say it enough… not out loud."
You glanced up, smiling. "It’s all you, Aaron. I’m not doing anything."
“Bullshit.” He turned, eyeing the cutting board. “You’re cutting the chocolate.”
Before you could respond, he reached over and plucked a piece from the pile, popping it into his mouth.
"Really?" you deadpanned.
He stole another.
"This one was uneven," he said, completely straight-faced.
And then another.
"Do you even want hot chocolate, or are you just here to rob me blind?"
Aaron smirked - and for once, it would have been so damn nice to just enjoy seeing his dimples - if only he hadn’t, completely unrepentantly, reached for yet another piece.
You swatted his hand before he could grab it. "Oh my God, you really are just here to rob me blind."
Defeated, Aaron turned back to the stove, deciding it was safer to keep his hands occupied. He stirred the milk with far more focus than necessary... so much so that you half-wondered if he was trying to churn it into cream.
Maybe if he just kept moving, he could resist the temptation of another impromptu quality check… hopefully.
Or maybe, it wasn’t about the chocolate at all.
"Do you really think you’re not doing anything?" he asked. His eyes were still on the pot, but the way he had slowed his stirring - no longer overcompensating, no longer distrac-
"You are," he continued, looking at you. "You’re here. You stayed. And that’s… that’s more than I knew how to ask for."
"You can ask, you know," you murmured. "You need to say the words, Aaron."
Someone else had told him the exact same words once.
And still, he hadn’t learned how to listen.
Maybe he never would.
Maybe it was just the way he was - stubborn in his silence, in his inability to believe he was allowed to need something, someone.
But still, he cared.
He cared in the way he stole more chocolate than he should have - not just because of his sweet tooth, but because he knew you didn’t like it that much. Or at least, that’s what he told himself.
Because he didn’t want the taste to overpower, didn’t want to make it too rich when he knew you’d only take a few sips before pushing your cup toward him, like you always did.
He cared in the way he let the chocolate sit on the stove just a little longer, thickening the way you preferred it.
In the way he never stopped you, even when you added far more cinnamon than he would have chosen for himself.
In the way he didn’t say a word.
Maybe he should. He needed to say the words. Maybe just start with some.
And so his grip tightened around the mug, the heat pressing into his palms, seeping into his skin.
He could feel it, the warmth.
He had never noticed before how much he liked the way it settled in his fingers, how it grounded him, how it made him feel… alive.
Like he was rediscovering - all over again - that if he held on too long, it would burn.
And it did.
Science might explain it as heat conduction - the transfer of thermal energy from the liquid to the ceramic, from the ceramic to his skin, exciting the molecules in his nerve endings until they fired signals to his brain, warning him of the impending risk of tissue damage.
A perfectly rational, biological response.
But not everything he felt could be charted in nerve endings and synapses, reduced to chemical reactions or evolutionary instinct.
Some things defied explanation.
“I love you.”
“Love you too, Aaron.”
Good luck to the scientists trying to reduce that to a handful of chemical bonds and neural pathways.
Maybe they could try.
They’d still get it wrong.
Ineffable.

Eddie is having a boring summer day.
He could go to the mall if he wanted to, but it's hot outside, and he really doesn't want to deal with people at the moment. Plus, the last time he went, he's pretty sure he saw Steve Harrington in a sailor's uniform that made him feel a certain way. But he's pretty sure he hallucinated that.
He hopes he hallucinated that. Especially the part where he felt attracted to him. Like full-blown, he wanted to set sail on an ocean of flavor with him, or whatever stupid line he had said when he passed by the ice cream parlor.
So, yeah, the mall is not an option for him at the moment. But maybe it'll burn down or something and he'll never have to see Steve's face again.
A knock on his trailer door breaks him out of the slight trance, and Eddie rushes to answer it. He hopes it's not Jeff asking for his-
All thoughts stop when the door swings open and he finds Steve Harrington on the other side. In his sailor's uniform.
What the fuck?
Please be hallucinating.
"Hey," Steve says as if they've talked more than a handful of times over the past few years of passing each other in the hall.
Eddie swallows hard. "What are you doing here?" he asks, trying so hard not to eyefuck Steve.
"I was wondering if you were still selling weed?" Steve says.
Eddie sighs and gestures for him to come inside. Might as well get this over with so he can get closer to screaming into a pillow.
Once Steve is in his trailer, he closes the door behind him and rushes off to his room, grabbing his metal lunch/drug box quickly before looking in the mirror and quickly trying to clean himself up a bit. He stops when he realizes he's doing this for Steve Harrington for Christ's sake.
He opens up the little box and doesn't look at Steve and his damn beautiful hair as he pretends to look for his weed.
He isn't prepared for Steve to say, "I should warn you that I haven't gotten paid yet, so I was wondering if there was any other way I could pay for this?"
Eddie freezes and slowly looks up. There's no way he heard that correctly. Shit, is he dreaming? He does not want another Steve dream. Jeff had made fun of him for weeks after he confessed to it. "I'm sorry, what?"
Steve just shrugs casually. "Like, I could give you my watch until I can pay you properly."
Eddie sets his lunch/drug box down harshly on the counter next to him and runs both hands over his face. "Christ, Steve, that is not what I thought you meant."
"What did you think I meant?" Steve asks.
Eddie drops his hands from his face and raises his eyebrows at Steve, hoping he understands. Steve just tilts his head to the side, looking way too adorable for a damn jock, but Eddie blames the sailor uniform for that.
He sighs and curses under his breath before saying, "I thought you were offering to like..." he trails off and reluctantly gestures to his crotch.
Steve finally catches on to what he's saying as his eyebrows raise and his mouth makes a little 'o' shape. He nods for a second before pausing. "Wait, would that get me weed for free?"
Eddie's eyes widen. There's no way that Steve understood what he just gestured.
But then Steve shrugs and walks closer to him saying, "I won't tell if you don't."
Eddie quickly backs into his counter and hisses out, "There's no way I'm letting you blow me when I haven't even had my first kiss." He immediately regrets the words as soon as he says them. NOT because he just rejected Steve but because he just revealed to him that he's never been kissed before.
God, could this get any more embarrassing?
Steve pauses and looks him over, eyes flickering over his face as if considering... "How much would a first kiss get me?"
Eddie's pretty sure his heart stops. What the hell? "How fucking desperate are you for this weed?" Eddie asks.
"Not that desperate," Steve confesses.
Okay, this is definitely a dream. Eddie is now entirely convinced,
But then, Steve sighs and runs a hand through his hair before resting it on his hips. "Sorry, man, it's just... I haven't gotten any action in weeks now, and I have this coworker that reminds me every day about how much that means that I suck. And my favorite kid has gone away to this damn science camp. And my dad is being more of an asshole than usual whenever he comes home, which is honestly not often, but he still somehow makes my life hell. And I'm sorry for unloading this shit onto you right now and for making a move on you. But could you please let me know how I could get some weed without making you uncomfortable?"
Eddie stares at him for a few moments before he reaches into his bag for a half-ounce. He hands the bag to Steve, pressing it into his hand. "Usually twenty bucks, but it's on the house for you." Because shit, he needs it.
Steve stares at it for a few seconds before pocketing it. He doesn't leave though. He just stares at Eddie conflictedly.
"What?" Eddie asks.
"You're sure there's nothing I can do for you?" Steve asks.
Eddie almost thinks it sounds like he wants to do something for him. So he folds his arms and boldly asks, "Why did you offer to kiss me?"
Steve shrugs. "I've heard the rumors that you're um... And I just... I think that you're... cute. For a guy," he rushes to clarify.
Eddie stares at him for a few seconds. Is Steve Harrington... not straight? There's no damn way. He's probably just screwing with him or something. But also... he sees that look in his eyes - the curiosity and fear - that makes him think... maybe he's being genuine.
"Are you fucking with me?" Eddie breathes out.
Steve shakes his head. "No, I wouldn't do that. That's not cool."
Eddie pinches himself hard. Ouch. Not a dream.
"So," Eddie says carefully, "Are you still offering to kiss me in place of paying for the weed?"
"I'll make it worth it," Steve says quickly.
Eddie takes a second to think about it. And really, how the hell can he turn down Steve Harrington in a sailor outfit being his first kiss? He's a weak, weak man. But... it's also sacrificing twenty bucks.
Damn, it's worth it.
"Okay," Eddie breathes out.
Steve smiles and gets closer to him, successfully trapping him back against the counter. His hand comes up to slowly cup Eddie's face, stroking a thumb over his cheek as the other one rests on the counter behind him.
Eddie takes in a deep shakey breath.
Steve's eyes flicker down to his lips and back to his eyes. "I won't do anything you're not comfortable with, so just pinch me if you want out, okay?"
Shit, why do the words make Eddie's brain melt? He hums and nods in response.
Steve leans in slowly but stops right before kissing him to ask, "Can I please kiss you?"
"Fuck yes," Eddie says, grabbing Steve by the tie of the sailor's uniform and pulling him until his lips press against him.
It's like every nerve in Eddie's body is on fire. He lets go of the tie to run his hands over Steve's back, pulling him closer as Steve traces his tongue over the seam of his lips.
Eddie moans, letting him in, tasting mint and a hint of something cherry as Steve deepens the kiss. Eddie makes it his mission to get Steve as close as possible to him, hands moving into his gorgeous hair and tugging him closer, groaning when Steve pulls away and bites his bottom lip only to soothe it with his tongue before moving in again to kiss him.
Eddie gets lost in it all, knowing that no first kiss is supposed to be this fucking good. He groans when Steve's hands move to grip the back of his neck and try to pull him in the same way Eddie is doing to him.
And shit, he cannot get enough of him. But he also cannot breathe.
He breaks the kiss, panting into Steve's mouth, but not feeling bad about it when Steve does the same, sounding equally out of breath.
Steve still presses three more gentle kisses against his mouth before pulling back and mumbling out, "Fuck."
Eddie takes in the boy, flushed red, hair wild, lips a bit puffy and wet, and with pupils blown wide. And he knows the image will forever ruin him.
Steve runs his hand through his hair again - a nervous tick? - as he catches his breath.
Eddie can't help but ask, "Was that... okay?"
Steve's eyes widen in disbelief. "Are you kidding me? That was perfect. And you've never kissed anyone before?"
Eddie shakes his head.
"Shit, man. I guess you're a natural or something."
Eddie flushes red at the compliment.
Steve clears his throat and gestures toward the door. "Well, I've gotta head out. But thank you for this, and for not making fun of the stupid sailor outfit."
Eddie chokes down the words I think it's hot and instead says, "Of course, and if you want a... discount... I'm always available."
Steve nods. "Right." He smiles and moves toward the door.
Eddie follows behind him.
Right before he opens the door, Steve turns around and kisses him again, it surprises Eddie so much that he almost doesn't register Steve slipping something into his front pocket. But as Steve pulls away, he gives him a wink before slipping out the door and making his way to his car.
Eddie watches as Steve gets in and slides his hand into his pocket. He feels something folded up and pulls it out, looking down to find a twenty-dollar bill in his hand meaning...
Steve shoots him a wicked smile before driving away, joyfully bobbing his head along to whatever song is playing on his radio.
Eddie pinches himself one more time to make sure he isn't dreaming.
Ow.
He smiles wide. Maybe Steve will take him up on his "discount" again.
(Thank you @henderdads for suggesting the sailor uniform)

-------
As soon as Steve and Bucky stepped into the house in Hilton Head, Frumoasă’s family welcomed them warmly. Steve felt something that he hadn’t felt in a long while as he watched Bucky and his girl reunite. It had only been a few days, but the emotion between them was palpable.
Steve was happy for his friend, that after years of playing around he finally found his one. His mind drifted to a certain someone in Georgia as his eyes scanned the room for the family’s reaction to this reunion.
When his eyes lighted on you, Steve did a double take, thinking that he was hallucinating.
There you were, beautiful as ever, staring at him like a deer in the headlights, your rapid breathing making your chest rise and fall under the form fitting dress you were wearing.
Steve’s heartbeat was out of control as his eyes traced your form, down to those sexy high heeled boots, and then back up again to that face, those lips, those eyes!
You looked as if you had seen a ghost. After a few seconds, recognition filled them as you looked from Bucky and Frumoasa and then back to Steve.
Steve knew the moment you understood what he had done. He saw your eyes flash at him, almost felt your body tense and could only watch your flight into the kitchen.
Against his normally strong sense of self preservation, he went after you.
—-
The instant your eyes met Grant Stevens' ocean blue gaze, you lost all focus. You flushed and became physically affected by his proximity. You watched in silence as he stepped into the room behind the attractive dark haired man that your cousin flew to embrace and closed the door behind him.
You were confused as to why he was here with this other man and what was going on.
As your family’s chatter increased, you realized that this must be Bucky Barnes, whom you’d heard so much about from your cousin. You were impressed that he came after her; you knew how bull headed she was.
Almost as much as you were.
Then it hit you.
The man with him was not Grant Stevens, ordinary bartender, this was Steve Rogers, multi millionaire mobster and Bucky Barnes’ best friend.
Your eyes took in the scene and then met Grant’s (no Steve’s) again and you shook yourself from your daze. The man you knew in Atlanta was the same, but different.
His hair was different, cut quite a bit shorter, but still floofy on top, and he still had a beard, but it was tamed. He carried himself a little differently as well, as if he could buy and sell this entire house and everyone in it but didn’t want to, an air of confidence and expectation, directed toward you.
These subtle differences hit you right in the pussy, because damn, he looked good, he smelled good, and that big dick energy was enormous.
But then you realized how he’d lied to you and rage, disbelief, and betrayal flooded your body. You tried to regulate after realizing that your jaw was clenched and your hands were balled into fists.
Rather than deck this man in front of your family and draw attention to this fucked up situation, you retreated into the kitchen, hoping that Steve would have the good sense not to follow you.
You went to the sink and gazed out of the window to the beach, attempting to be soothed by the vision of the tide retreating and returning until you heard the door open and close behind you.
Without turning around, you shook your head to clear it from the haze his rich, woodsy scent cast over you.
And also to warn Steve Rogers.
“DO NOT come near me.”
—--
Steve’s heart was beating a mile a minute and he was sweating as he pursued you, but he couldn’t help himself. This thing between you and him was undeniable.
At least to him.
And so he came around the sizable kitchen island to talk to you despite your warning.
His mouth was dry when he attempted to speak, but he had to try.
“Peach… I—“
You turned around, a Japanese steel carving knife in your hand.
Steve felt his eyes widen and he put his hands up and backed away until the counter behind him stopped his retreat. He knew he could easily take the knife from you and calm you down, but now was not the time for force.
It was time to grovel.
“Peach, please…”
You advanced upon him, tip of the knife pointed at Steve’s throat. Your pulse quickened as you got nearer to him, only because you were going to kill him, you thought.
Not because he was so damn fine. No.
Not because your nipples were tight and your pussy was pounding as you remembered his hands on you, inside you, and his hard body against you as his mouth invaded yours.
You were so caught up that you could only stare at him as you threatened his life.
You searched Steve’s handsome face for the hint of a smirk, which, to his credit, wasn’t there. Steve looked earnest, like a little boy even, so your eyes moved away from his face and down to the impossible broadness of his shoulders in the fine brown suede jacket over brown cashmere sweater, to his tailored brown slacks, skipping over the bulge there down to his big feet in brown suede boots.
The tone on tone was attractive and the hint of the chain of his St. Stephen’s medal, the same one he wore in Atlanta, was about to make you go feral.
This man affected you in the worst ways.
How could you want to murder him, fuck him, and also just bury yourself in his chest?
“Who the fuck are you?”
Steve dropped his head and stared down at the knife at his neck when you spoke
He deserved every cut you wanted to give him.
“I’m so, so sorry, Peach.”
He looked back up at you and you gasped, the knife dropping a little. At the same time, while holding your gaze, Steve slowly moved his hands toward yours, which was trembling slightly now. You nodded a little as he reached for the knife and he took it gently out of your hand.
He moved toward you and you backed up as he reached beside you to put the knife down, rendering it available if you wanted to hurt him again.
You were impressed.
But you didn’t trust him one bit.
“Back the fuck up, Grant. Or Steven. Or whatever the fuck you are calling yourself today.”
Steve created space and leaned against the opposite counter, looking more comfortable than your angry heart agreed with.
“I deserve your anger, Peach. But I can explain.”
At that, you straightened up and picked up the knife again.
“I’m not angry, Steven. I have no feelings for you whatsoever.”
Steve’s mouth fell open. He wasn’t expecting that.
“If I ever felt anything for anyone, it may have been Grant Stevens, but he doesn’t exist.”
You examined the knife, but didn’t point it at him this time.
“Since he doesn’t exist, neither do my feelings or any chance I allow you to get close to me ever again.”
Your multicolored eyes stared into Steve’s and he shivered.
“Now, this is obviously a big deal for my cousin out there, and for your friend. I’m not going to spoil this for her. But you.”
You indicated Steve with the knife.
“You, stay the fuck away from me. Pretend I don’t exist and I,” You smiled a little.
“Well, I don’t have to do that, do I?  Because not only did you lie to me, you ghosted me.”
Steve felt like the most despicable man on earth.
“So, you’re dead to me, Grant Stevens.”
You moved around the island to go back to the dining room with the knife in your hand.
“There’s another entrance to the dining room through the hallway by the bathrooms. Use it. I do not want to be associated with lying sacks of shit.”
You straightened your spine and Steve couldn’t help but watch your beautiful body leave him in the dust.
It was then that he knew he was in love.
—--
At dinner Steve watched everything unfold with consternation, but also amusement and curiosity. Bucky and his girl were about to crawl under the table and fuck, even though her parents were grilling him, but his friend had it under control.
Steve wanted to know what you thought of all this and when he looked at you, he thought he caught you checking for him a couple of times, but you always seemed to be looking at something else.
You were clearly still pissed at him.
Which gave him hope.
Because regardless of what you said about being dead to you, there was still some strong emotions swirling around in that head of yours.
Which meant you were thinking about him.
He had to get you alone to talk. But he didn’t know how.
When your aunt suggested he and Bucky stay over, he silently thanked the stars above.
Now he was getting somewhere.
—--
When your Aunt Karen opened her home to criminals and liars, you almost drove back to Atlanta. You sat there and stewed as this handsome asshole smirked across the table at you.
You should have used the knife.
This was going to be the longest four days of your life.
When Bucky and Steve left to retrieve their belongings from the hotel, you looked over to see your cousin staring at you. You thought she was too caught up in Bucky to notice anything.
You were wrong. She continued staring at you as she called out to her mother.
“Ma, Peach and I are going for a walk on the beach to work off dinner, we’ll be back soon.”
As soon as you were out of earshot, the interrogation began.
“What the fuck is up, bitch?”
You told her the entire story.
—-
“You gonna tell me what is going on now?”
Steve looked over at Bucky as they drove to the Surf Song Inn to get their luggage. He would be the only one to understand what he was going through.
“Remember when you said I didn’t really “get it” when you were talking about speeding up the timeline?
Bucky nodded, intrigued.
“Well, I do now. And the story starts in Atlanta….”
By the time Steve was done, Bucky’s mouth was hanging open.
“I noticed that she’s a looker; definitely related to my Frumoasa.”
They chuckled and Steve shook his head at his friend.
“Now that I know what’s going on, with the extension of the Atlanta deal, and the foundation outlay… You’ve got it fucking bad.”
Bucky laughed at his friend.
Steve groaned.
“Stop busting my balls, Buck. I need help.”
Bucky shook his head.
“I don’t know man. My girl and I certainly went through something like this, but she knew my real name, for fuck’s sake. And I never left her hanging to run off into the night forever. I want to fucking punch you for that shit.”
Bucky was serious.
“I know. I’m such an idiot. But I panicked. I think I knew I was in love but I’d fucked up. In the back of my mind I was always going to go back once we got clean and tell her the truth but…”
“Fate won out?”
“Yeah.”
There was silence in the car as the sounds of the ocean surrounded them.
“She threatened to slit my throat when she saw me today. She had the carving knife in her hand.”
Bucky grinned at his friend who was gazing dreamily out of the window.
“I knew I liked her. My kind of girl. She’s perfect for you.”
“Punk. But how do I get her to realize that?”
“Persistence my friend. Persistence. And cunning.”
—--
By the time Steve and Bucky had returned, there was a plan, but almost as soon as he stepped into the house, your cousin grabbed him up. He followed her into the kitchen, afraid of another knife attack.
“Just what the fuck do you think you are doing, Steven Grant Rogers? You trying to run game on my cousin? We don’t play that, I will fuck you up!”
This time it wasn’t a knife, but your cousin’s finger pointed at him
“I love her.”
She froze, mouth open and finger in mid air.
“Well. Damn.”
She straightened up and leaned on the counter as Bucky came in.
“May I join the party?”
His girl glared at him and he put his hands up as he walked up on her and took her in his arms.
“I promise, I didn’t know a thing about it. I’ve been a little distracted lately.
He kissed her and her ire was gone. Steve wished it were that easy for him.
“So you’re in love but you fucked her over, and she wants nothing to do with you. Cool.”
Your cousin wasn’t scowling at him, but she wasn’t smiling either.
“Yeah, I’m fucked. But i’ve got a plan.”
Steve and Bucky looked at each other and grinned. Your cousin looked from one to the other. Then they told her the plan.
“Oh hell. My poor cousin. But you forgot one important thing…”
—--
The rest of the night was spent playing board games, watching football, and outrageous flirting between Bucky and your cousin.
Oh, and you avoiding Steve Rogers at all costs.
If he came into a room, you exited, if you heard his voice in another, you scowled. He was ruining your holiday. You were stressed beyond belief. But you had something for that.
You knew that your cousin was planning on meeting Bucky in the basement and being a freak, so that’s when you and your handy dandy little bullet vibrator would meet up.
You needed to relieve the tension Steve being in the house had placed on your pussy. You were afraid you would fold and fuck him.
All you needed was to cum and you could think straight.
When your cousin snuck out of the room, she thought you were asleep, but you were just hiding and waiting for her to leave. Just when you pulled the bullet from under your pillow, your door opened and your light came on. You sat up in bed when you saw it was Steve, prepared to cuss him out.
He quickly shut the door and leaned against it, a vision with his big, bare feet, plaid pajama pants and size smedium henley.
It was still a crime how good this man looked.
And how much he affected you.
Steve saw you without makeup, that delectable mouth in a sexy O, and those eyes wide and got hard instantly.
He was so ruined.
You watched Steve watching you and then watched him reach up and rub the back of his neck and damn, did his bicep look good as he unconsciously flexed.
“I need to explain, Peach.”
“You don’t need to do a gotdamn thing but get the fuck out of my room.”
“Please…”
“Don’t give me that shit. That fake apology begging shit. You’re nothing but a liar, and a manipulator. Trying to fuck me under an alias. Pretending to be something you’re not.”
Steve grew exasperated and damn you if the sight of him potentially angry didn’t turn you on more. Did you actually want him to fight for you?
You had a problem. A six foot, two inch problem.
“I didn’t fuck you, did I? I realized what I was doing was wrong and I stopped.”
You huffed and cocked your head.
“Yeah. You ran. Which was the easy way out. Instead of staying and apologizing and telling me the fucking truth. I don’t need your explanation now, asshole. You better be glad I don’t scream my ass off! Coming in here like you’re going to make me beg for you to put your little dick inside me and have your way with me in all the holes that you can.”
Steve raised his eyebrow, heart rate increasing. You wanted him.
“That's very oddly specific, Peach. Been thinking about me? Been fantasizing?”
His fervent whisper made you shiver.
“And I think you’ve ascertained by now that it’s not little.”
He smirked as you glared at him.
“You’re right, Peach. Now is not the time for explanations. Maybe we just need to finish what we started in Atlanta. Get the tension out so we can talk. Let me fuck you so hard that we both cum. Hard. So we can have a civil conversation.”
God, I need her to cum around my cock, those thighs wrapped around me, Steve thought. It was his only goal at the moment.
Your pussy sat up and took notice as you were silent, adjusting the pillow with the bullet under it so that he wouldn’t know what you were planning to do. He studied you as you sat up straighter in the bed.
You both knew that one fuck wouldn’t end the beef. In fact, you guessed correctly that you wouldn't be able to get enough.
“You want me to beg, Peach? To get on my knees for you and beg to give me just a few hours of your time to show you that I am completely and utterly yours, Y/N/LN.”
You stared at him as he nodded at you and started rubbing himself through his pajama pants like a heathen.
“But what would you let me come in here and do to you that would make you scream your ass off Peach, if I begged to your satisfaction?”
His eyes roamed your body, stopping at your rigid nipples through the thin material.
Steve was thirsty now.
“Would you let me touch you?”
His baritone voice was destroying your pussy right now. She was practically humming and vibrating on nothing at the moment, and you wondered if you could come from words alone.
Steve wondered the same thing.
So he tried it.
“Would you let me?”
Waves of desire rolled off of him and you could feel it from across the room. He was itching to move close and touch you, but you needed to make the first move.
So what he said to you was, “Would you let me get my dirty criminal hands all over you, Peach?”
You tensed, not knowing if you wanted to strangle him or climb on his penis. But then you thought both, at the same time, and crossed your arms against your body instead.
“N-no!”
That damn eyebrow shot up and you looked away, not knowing if you had the strength to endure.
“I want to bite into you, Peach.”
You opened your mouth to breathe.
“Not hard. Just enough to see how soft your skin is. Just so you can feel it throughout your body…you are…fuck… you are so fine… I need to consume you.”
You were in the same room with the big bad wolf, and yet you didn’t want to escape.
“I wonder…”
He trailed off, and you turned your head and gained eye contact, curious and wound up tight. Your pussy was pounding now, and you knew he had to smell your scent. He was actually licking his chops.
“Would you let me slide my tongue inside you and lick you clean?”
He watched his eyes dilate as your eyes shuttered and a sound came out from your throat. It was a whimper of need that you cut short by clearing your throat, but not before Steve’s eyes flicked down to your sleep shorts and your thighs rubbing against each other. He knew you had to be soaking wet.
He licked his lips and nodded, agreeing with your lust.
“Yes. Want, no need, to rub my cock all over your beautiful body. Feed it to you inch by inch, until you take it down your throat.”
You closed your eyes to shut off the sight of him, but the images of what he was saying assaulted you. You were so close to giving in.
“Will you, Peach? Let me rub this big dick all over that body?”
You opened your eyes and stared as Steve grabbed himself, holding it out for you. You were incredulous when you saw how thick and how long it was under his sleep pants. You licked your lips, suddenly very thirsty.
“Will you let me feed you this cock inch by fucking inch, till I’m down your throat?”
Steve assessed you.
“I told you that you’d struggle to take it. But I bet you’d take it like the naughty little good girl you are. You’d gag on it for me.”
You wanted to crawl over to him on your knees and do as he said. But you were not going to fold. You took a deep breath, stood up slowly and walked over to him, his smile growing the nearer you approached.
You stopped just shy of touching him, his cock, his hands, those lips all there for the taking. You looked him dead in the eye.
“My aunt Karen keeps a shotgun by the bed. Get the fuck out of my room before I go get it and shoot your gotdamn balls off.”
The grin that Steve wore as he walked back to his room was blinding. You were the perfect woman for him. He just had to convince you.
He was still grinning when Bucky snuck back in the room from his rendezvous with his girl.
“I’m in.”
—--
The next morning you woke almost refreshed, having used your bullet successfully after Steve left the room. You got off in no time and renewed your strength. You even managed to tease your cousin who did the tiptoe of shame back to your shared bedroom before you fell asleep.
You came downstairs to the sight of your aunt and uncle on the way to coffee with Bucky and your cousin about to throw up.
It was obvious what was about to happen and you felt bad as she ran out to the beach to get some air. Maybe you were taking things out on her. As you watched her head toward the beach, you felt the hair on the back of your head rise.
You turned around to see Steve’s cerulean eyes appraising you. You suddenly felt self conscious about your sleep short set.
“Morning.”
“Hmmph.”
“I’ve been thinking about what you said last night, and you are correct. I’m sorry for continuing to pursuing you. What I did was wrong and there’s no future for us. We need to just cut ties. But there is one thing. The foundation.”
One of the things you’d realized was that the Rebirth Foundation that had bailed you out of debt and enabled you to quit stripping and start your dance school was the creation of Steve and Bucky. Your cousin told you it was a very real endeavor, but that Steve and Bucky did run it.
“Yes. That’s unfortunate.”
“So. What do you want to do about that?”
Steve leaned back and damn, the power of grey sweats was not lost on you.
“What do you mean?”
“Well. I am the managing director of the foundation. If you keep the money, you’ll have to have contact with me; remember the stipulations?”
You grimaced as you recalled the terms of the endowment. A summit in New York, site visits. Shit.
You crossed your arms and cocked your hip. Steve kept his eyes on your face. That threw you for a second. You cleared your throat.
“Are you trying to blackmail me, Rogers.”
Steve shook his head.
“No. I knew you would think that. You are welcome to keep the money. I can just consider it a gift. I’ll pay the money back to the foundation out of my personal funds. Consider it a fine for my crimes.”
You looked down and chewed your lip. Then you looked back up at him, your head held high.
“I’m not a coward, Mr. Rogers. I can fulfill my end of the bargain, even if you…”
You stopped short.
“I can fulfill my end of the bargain.”
Steve looked at you for a long while, his blue eyes sad. Your heart clenched.
“Good. Your students deserve it. You should have a message in your inbox about the summit on December 15th. You don’t have to RSVP until next week because of the holiday."
Steve stood up and walked toward the kitchen door.
“I’m gonna go see if your cousin is okay.”
You gaped as the man you thought you hated went to go care for your family. And if what you presumed was going to happen did happen, he was going to be like family for the rest of your life.
You were screwed.

Azula Respected Mai The Most
I just saw another Reddit comment saying Azula wasn’t friends with Mai and mostly only cared about Ty Lee. And I just gotta say…
I respectfully disagree.
Tumblr media
The Boiling Rock proves Mai meant a lot to Azula.
First, Mai publicly commits treason and betrays the Fire Nation and Azula.
What does Azula do? Order the guards away and gives Mai a chance to explain herself. She even says “I never expected this from you” and “you of all people know the consequences”. Put a pin in that for a moment.
Giving a traitor who just publicly and flagrantly betrayed you and your nation to help an even worse traitor to your nation (Zuko, who on a personal level hurt both Mai and Azula by doing so) a chance to explain themselves is already significant. But even moreso is the fact that Azula doesn’t make a single move to harm Mai until Mai purposely and effectively hits Azula’s trauma weak point like the master marksman she is.
Tumblr media
When Mai says “I guess you don’t know people as well as you think you do” this is already an insult. She’s putting down Azula’s intelligence and manipulation skills, things Azula clearly takes pride in. And yet despite how insulting that is, Azula still waits for Mai to explain herself. Even as Mai throws that barb at her, Azula wants to hear her out. Until Mai throws the even worse insult right at Azula’s weak point.
“I love Zuko more than I fear you” isn’t a statement of Mai being afraid really. It’s Mai throwing a powerful dig at Azula’s biggest fear and trauma, the one Azula tried to dismiss during The Beach with a joke to avoid showing her own vulnerability: Azula fears that Ursa hated and feared her but loved Zuko. It’s why during the mirror scene, a grief stricken and emotionally volatile Azula bitterly says to the hallucination of Ursa “even you fear me”.
Only then does Azula get triggered enough to lash out in return. Mai was only capable of hurting her so much precisely because Azula loves and trusts Mai so much, and precisely because Mai knew what to say to hurt her.
Even so, Azula does the forms for fire, not lightning. And after she is chi-blocked, Azula orders both Ty Lee and Mai jailed, not executed or banished despite having every right to do so since they just publicly committed treason against the Fire Nation.
Tumblr media
See the quick strike? It’s more like when she attacks Iroh in The Chase with blue fire:
Tumblr media
Lightning, by comparison, always has a wind up for her. Even when comet-boosted or otherwise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Remember Azula’s line we put a pin in? Let’s go back to it now. Why does Azula say “I never expected this from you” and “you of all people”. What is the significance here?
Tumblr media
We know Azula is a perfectionist. She can’t stand a single hair out of place. This informs her frustration with Zuko and Ty Lee, both whom she adores, but whom are constantly failing to stay in their place and play their role. Zuko messes up, gets himself banished. Ty Lee runs away and joins the circus. What does Azula do? Endeavor to use any means necessary to bring them back into the fold. It sounds crazy, but from her perspective, she’s helping them shape up.
But Mai? She’s different. Mai knows her place. She knows what’s expected of her. She says herself that she learned to be quiet and still so as not to risk her dad’s political career. She hates it and searches for any excuse to leave her stifling expectations at home, but she only does this in an acceptable way: when ordered by the princess to join her on a mission for the Fire Nation.
This is why Azula is especially shocked. Because of all people, Azula thought Mai was the only one of her friends who understood their duty to the nation and wasn’t a colossal fuck up.
Azula may be more affectionate with Ty Lee, but she definitely respected Mai more.
Tumblr media
And I think the fandom doesn’t give their fascinating relationship or how it breaks down enough credit.

Friendship Bracelets
This is based off a fun idea by @ldhedgehog, where Sonic and Shadow end up with a quill from each other and can use that to sense each other's emotions.
Fine. He was hedgehog to admit it.
Sonic had a bit of separation anxiety.
He and his parents chalked it up to the sudden loss of Longclaw and the ten years spent alone. Sonic had been so excited for his first day of school, with actual kids his age, but had spent most of the day deep in anxiety. What if being away from him was enough to convince Tom and Maddie that he didn't deserve to live with them? What if something happened to them? What if something happened to them and Sonic was all by himself again-
Sonic spent most of the day clinging to Tom when he got home.
It had gotten better. He had learned that Tom and Maddie were solid in their love for him. They texted each other during points in the day. Tails and Knuckles, once they were enveloped into the Wachowski fold, were also there, steadying him.
And then Shadow had come along and then was suddenly gone. There was still anger at him for hurting Tom, an anger that was only mollified by a bit when Tom admitted that he had spooked Shadow, but there was also grief.
Shadow had complemented him. It was like there was a piece of him missing that Sonic had never realized until he and Shadow were dancing in the stars, miniature shooting stars, and whispering of grief and loss on the moon. He loved Knuckles and Tails, of course, but neither could truly challenge him in speed, not until he met furious red eyes.
He had spent months convinced Shadow was dead.
And then Shadow was back, dragging Rouge the Bat with him and bursting into the scene like something out of an action movie, kicking a Metal Sonic away from Amy.
They hadn't had much time to talk, but Shadow's eyes lit up when they met, and he admitted that he had been grieving Sonic too, his hand tight around his. They weren't miniature shooting stars at the end, but they still could give one hell of an encore to their dance.
Then they had to separate again.
Shadow wasn't safe on Earth, not when GUN was around. Sonic understood, especially when Director Rockwell marched in and started screaming questions a few seconds after they shoved Shadow, Rouge, Amy, and that one robot they apparently stole from GUN through the ring portal. However, the minute they sat down in the truck, ready to head back to Green Hills where Shadow and the others would meet them, Sonic felt tears pricking at his eyes- not the normal tears he usually shed after a battle, but real, frantic tears.
What if he had just been a hallucination? What if something happened to him in the five minutes it took to set up a ring portal? What if something happened to him and Sonic was by himself again-
Panic attacks sucked. That was a fun fact that he learned. Maddie had decided, once he was back to himself, that they were all getting therapy. Nobody protested this.
Especially not Shadow, who spent the rest of the night- because his parents refused to let anyone go hungry, especially after a battle like that- hovering by his side. It took a lot of effort to convince him to let go of Sonic's hand at the end of dinner. Then Sonic had a nightmare in the middle of the night and had summoned a ring portal to Rouge's house, right as Shadow was crawling through his window to apparently check if Sonic was still breathing.
This started a pattern that was rapidly becoming an issue.
So when Maddie said she had a way to possibly help with their separation anxiety, Sonic honestly doubted her.
"It's a thing I noticed," she explained as she worked at the table, the two of them sitting across from her. "Shadow, you had one of Sonic's quills at one point, and you could tell Sonic was alive."
"Yes," Shadow said with a nod. "I think our mutual bond with the Chaos Emeralds may have infused our quills." Nobody mentioned that chaos energy was how Gerald Robotnik had lived way past his prime. The thought of Eggman possibly licking his quill made Sonic want to shiver out of his skin, he did not want to imagine what Shadow thought of his sort-of father figure licking his quill.
"Yeah!" his mom said brightly. "So, I did some research and poked at some of your quills, Sonic." She finished whatever she was doing, revealing two bracelets.
They looked like friendship bracelets, done with red and blue strings. However, when Sonic squinted, he realized that one had a lot more blue. The other had a familiar red tint to it.
"Hedgehog quills are actually hollow, making them flexible," Maddie explained as she held them out to them. "But your two's quills are way more flexible than I expected, more like human hair. I'm guessing that's because you guys aren't actually hedgehogs, but something resembling hedgehogs..." Sonic took the bracelet with more red and slid it on as Shadow slid the blue one on.
He twisted his wrist back and forth, studying the bracelet. It was close-fitting, meaning it wouldn't snag on anything, which was good. Sonic felt a burst of interest in his chest as Shadow's quills caught the light, turning a lighter shade of red.
Then he looked at Shadow, who was studying his own bracelet. The blue looked good on him. He looked nice with blue. He looked nice in general, but right now he looked cutely nice, kinda like a cat with how his ears flicked-
Shadow's ears flicked and Sonic had to resist the urge to squeal.
Shadow's head turned then.
"Did...did you just squeal in your head?" he said, sounding baffled. "I could feel that enough that I could hear it."
...oh. Maybe separation anxiety was better.

leashed ♡
nikto & krueger x reader
a/n: this is honestly pretty self indulgent but i felt proud enough to share. reader’s outfit is described semi in depth and dresses typically feminine. they’re also described as having a “soft chest” but only once and vague on what sort of chest. their height is mentioned frequently, because they’re a lot shorter than the men. i based them off myself, i’m a feminine transmasc guy so :) no usage of (y/n) either (any other traits about reader are not included) (also i have no fucking clue how a military base is set up so i bullshitted it lol) beta read several times because i like stroking my ego sometimes, hope u enjoy!
to say that it’s an incredulous sight would be an understatement in every sense of the word.
two of kortac’s most dangerous, ruthlessly efficient and stone-faced operators being walked into base, leashed, by a short and dolled up stranger. the one holding the leashes dressed in a cute black body contour dress, stretching in all the right places, emphasizing their wide hips and soft chest. an expensive looking fur shawl was wrapped comfortably around their shoulders, dainty silver jewelry jingling with even the slightest movement. their legs wrapped in coquettish white tights decorated with pretty hearts and tiny bows along with kitten heeled black mary janes. and most importantly the bottom of their face obscured with a black mask, adorned with white lace and frills. the sight so fantastical and out of place that it would be enough to make any operator assume that they’re hallucinating.
even stranger still, when the trio finally reach the drop off point for operators the short one leading stops and turns on their heel, facing the two men. they straighten immediately, as if at attention before being soothed by the stranger. they curl their index finger down, as if calling a dog, in kruger’s direction.
the onlookers hold their breath, as if waiting for this odd trace to break and for kruger to pounce on the stranger. instead he bows down, bending at the waist to be eye level with them. they begin lifting kruger’s veil ever so slightly and the tension in the room spikes once more. the stranger’s head and hand slips under his hood without ever revealing his face and there is an audible, kiss. the surrounding area so quiet a pin drop could be heard.
nikto waits patiently, his gaze never once straying from his fellow operator and the stranger. never once fidgeting or twitching, standing stoic as if carved from stone. the only indication he’s made of flesh and blood is his chest moving ever so slightly with his steady breaths.
when the stranger removes their head from under kruger’s veil they turn to nikto. once more signaling for him to bend down to their height. he does so instantaneously, without hesitation, and awaits the stranger’s next move. their hand gently cups nikto’s cheek, his hand cradling their own with all the gentleness he could muster. they lean in, never once being forced to stand on their tiptoes. and they plant a (what feels like) eternal and tender kiss to his mask.
leaning back, the stranger then sighs, as if disappointed and both kruger’s and nikto’s hands twitch ever so slightly. they reach up and unlink nikto’s leash, before reaching under kruger’s veil to undo his. the stranger then signals for both of them to lean down this time, and the other operators have to strain their ears to listen to their quiet voice.
“play nice with the other operators ok? i don’t want to hear about any attempted homicides when i come to pick you two up. understood?” the stranger’s gaze shifts from nikto to kruger, expectantly.
“understood.” they both affirmed promptly, nodding as if to emphasize their promise to them.
the stranger’s body language slackened, opening their arms for a big hug. both of them, incredibly, took to the hug immediately. squeezing a small cute squeak out of them, holding them still for a few seconds before letting go.
“i love you both so much! stay safe and have fun ok? see you two on friday!” the stranger beams at them before turning heel once more. and finally, finally the two kortac operators speak.
“mhm, love you liebling, friday can’t come soon enough~” kruger crooned. (crooned, fucking crooned at them.) before kissing his palm and blowing the invisible kiss in their direction.
“da. get home safe, solnishko.” nikto murmured, reverently bowing towards the stranger.
the stranger only spared them a enthusiastic wave goodbye before rounding the corner and vanishing from view entirely.
the pair then turn around once more, eyes and stance hardening instantly.
“let’s get to work.” kruger nods his head in the direction of the base’s main office, heading there in quick and measured strides.
nikto doesn’t say anything in reply but he falls in place comfortably besides kruger, nikto’s pace matching kruger’s easily.
the two kortac members quickly disappear out of sight as well, and the room lets out a collective breath no one realized they were holding.
one particular onlooker, johnny “soap” mactavish turns to the rest of task force 141 (who are equally as confused), aghast, and exclaims, “what the ever living fuck was tha’?!”

I'm still in my Lilia brain rot era and I keep thinking about her and Agatha, and their dynamic and parallels.
Like, Agatha is a dick to everyone from the start, even Teen, but she's extremely chill and even, for her being who she is, weirdly respectful towards Lilia. Maybe it's because of the age, maybe it's because Lilia was the only one to show she still had true power when they first met, maybe it's because they share experience and persecution the younger ones don't truly understand, maybe Agatha just has a soft spot for those who are very clearly outcasts and weirdos.
The only sting at Lilia I can recall is calling her "Dory" in the last trial lmao
She never once questions or mocks her gaps. Hell, she said "we came to the right place" AFTER she saw Lilia scream her head off in ep2 over, to them, nothing. "Hmm, this bitch a lil bonkers, but that's exactly what I like and need :)"
She told Lilia that she couldn't take her power unless she's blasted with it - something she was certainly aiming for if the door didn't open and that ended up saving them in ep2 when she was using her ye old technique of being a menace. She may have told it to her only to get her in, but that's a big minus to her plan B.
When everyone had their hallucinations, Agatha didn't mock Lilia when she was, once again, "being weird". She believed her and reassured her in a soft tone that it was ok.
One interaction I found really funny is in ep3 when Teen asks about a sous vide machine and Agatha turns to Lilia with that "What the fuck is that? That wasn't around in our time" look
Usually when one of them starts spewing wisdom, someone will give a snarky remark, usually Agatha, but when they were talking about summoning a new green witch, Agatha let Lilia speak and was the only one who, at least somewhat, listened to her advice (50/50 but still haha). It was Lilia after all who was the first one to, tho reluctantly, agree to Agatha's idea of summoning a back up green witch.
Also the way Agatha looks at Lilia when she calls Jen out for giving Sharon only one dose of antidote when she had two glasses of wine. It's just so "mmm 😈 I like this one"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Agatha's first choice for "who could possibly play piano" wasn't Alice. Ya know the daughter of a rock goddess who would be the most logical choice. It was Lilia and I find that sweet and a lil funny too.
Lilia didn't tell Agatha's Salem story with judgement, even if she said "when Agatha killed her original coven". It was delivered as mere fact to explain the story.
Then when Evanora showed up and Lilia looks angry and almost disgusted at what she's hearing her say to Agatha. Even after Alice's death, she didn't jump on Agatha's back and accuse her. She let her be cause she was clearly distraught.
Tumblr media
Agatha "I'm not drinking the poison. You can suffer but I won't!" Harkness jumped on Lilia and covered her with her own body in the latest episode when the sword was about to impale her. And then she let her do her magic even if it didn't seem to work as the ceiling was still falling and even if she thought tarot was bullshit. She trusted she knew what she was doing.
And the look they give eachother when Lilia reveals Rio is Death. Lilia's face reads as terrified, but more than terrified, she seems to have a moment of compassion. It's the look of "How deeply fucked must your life have been that the only one that ever showed you love and kindness is the one who everyone else sees as the bringer of pain?". Death broke Lilia's heart many a time, but in that moment she understood, she broke Agatha's heart too in even worse ways.
Tumblr media
AGATHA LIKED HER! SHE LIKED HER FROM THE START AND RESPECTED HER! AND LILIA LIKED HER TOO, DESPITE THE INITIAL SUSPICIONS!!!
I need to know what her reaction to finding out Lilia sacrificed herself to kill the threat that was specifically after her will be. Will she brush it off and pretend she doesn't care to keep appearing stern and emotionless or will this be the thing that finally makes her realise people care for her? Cause Agatha has never had anyone, except literal Death, show her kindness, much less sacrifice themselves so she could keep living. And I find it beautifully poetic that the one other person Death has known well for centuries, who Death has acknowledged by name in that coven, was the one to do that.
Again, I'm aware that this is just my brain rot speaking, but Lilia was truly the MVP. She's the one with wisdom, the biggest experience, the one with seemingly most patience, the hype man ("Jennifer, look what you did", "It was all for you", "Don't worry, baby. We're cool"). Her trial is the only one where the rest was in fact not needed and was of no help. Actually, all they did was make it worse. The first three trials depended on teamwork. Lilia's was truly solvable ONLY by Lilia.
Anyways, Lilia mentally adopted Agatha and realised she truly was part of her coven and therefore worth dying for and I will never fucking recover 💔💔😭😭

it was another sold-out show. another city. another wave of excitement from thousands of fans packed into a venue, shouting your name and hanging onto every note that poured out of you. the adrenaline rush of performing live was unmatched, the kind of high that no drug could ever replicate. but after a month of touring nonstop, even the thrill of being on stage started to wear thin.
it wasn’t that you didn’t love it. you did—every bit of it. from the screaming fans to the electric energy in the air, it was everything you’d dreamed of when you first started in the music industry. but there was a part of you that felt off-balance, like you were running on empty. touring was exhausting, the never-ending cycle of cities, rehearsals, and interviews blurring together into one chaotic whirlwind.
and then there was him.
drew.
it had been a month since you’d last seen him in person. one long, torturous month of late-night facetime calls, texts that never seemed to come at the right time because of your conflicting schedules, and longing that seemed to grow worse with every passing day. while you were hopping from city to city, drew had been just as busy with his projects—filming, press events, photoshoots. you understood. you were both caught up in your careers, chasing dreams that had taken years of hard work to build. but understanding didn’t make it easier. you missed him. every part of him.
the smell of his cologne, the way his voice sounded when he whispered in your ear late at night, the feeling of his arms around you when the world felt too big. it was starting to wear you down, the ache of wanting him by your side and knowing that, for now, it wasn’t possible. every facetime call ended with a hollow sort of emptiness, as if the screen between you was a barrier you couldn't break through no matter how much you wanted to.
the show tonight had gone off without a hitch, but you couldn’t shake the weird feeling lingering at the back of your mind, like something was missing. the lights dimmed as the crowd roared, the final note hanging in the air. you threw your arms up, shouting your thanks into the microphone before jogging off stage, your heart still racing from the energy of the crowd. the crew backstage clapped and congratulated you, but your mind was elsewhere.
“great show tonight,” your tour manager said as you handed off your mic and took a long sip of water, your body still buzzing from the performance.
“thanks,” you replied absentmindedly, brushing a hand through your sweaty hair. all you could think about was your hotel room. a long, hot shower. maybe a glass of wine. and then another lonely night where you’d scroll through the hundreds of pictures of drew on your phone, wishing he was there.
you were so lost in thought that you didn’t notice him at first.
as you turned the corner into the quieter part of the backstage area, something caught your eye. a figure leaning casually against the wall, hands tucked into his pockets, a soft smile playing on his lips. your heart nearly stopped.
it was him.
drew.
you blinked, unsure if you were hallucinating from exhaustion, or maybe your mind was playing tricks on you. but no, there he was, standing there in a black hoodie and jeans, looking like he had just stepped out of one of your dreams.
“surprise,” he said with a smirk, his voice calm, but his eyes sparkling with mischief.
your body moved before your brain could catch up, your feet propelling you toward him at full speed. you practically launched yourself into his arms, your face burying in his chest as you held onto him tightly. “oh my god,” you mumbled, your voice muffled against his hoodie. “what are you doing here?”
his arms wrapped around you, strong and warm, just the way you remembered. “i missed you,” he said simply, his lips brushing against your hair as he spoke. “i couldn’t stay away any longer.”
you pulled back, just enough to look up at him, your eyes wide with disbelief. “you didn’t even tell me you were coming,” you whispered, your heart hammering in your chest.
he grinned, that playful smile that always made your stomach flip. “that’s kinda the point of a surprise, babe.”
you couldn’t help but laugh, the sound bubbling up from somewhere deep inside you, where all the stress and loneliness of the last month had been building. seeing him now, standing right in front of you, made everything else fade away. the exhaustion, the homesickness, the long nights spent staring at your phone—it all disappeared.
“i can’t believe you’re really here,” you said softly, your hands coming up to cup his face, your fingers tracing the familiar lines of his jaw, his cheekbones. you wanted to memorize every inch of him, just in case this was another one of those fleeting moments that would be over too soon.
“i wasn’t gonna miss the chance to see you perform,” he said, his voice low and full of affection. “you’re amazing out there.”
you felt a blush creep up your neck at his words. even after all this time, he still had that effect on you. “i’m better when you’re here,” you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. “it’s not the same without you.”
drew’s eyes softened, and he leaned down to kiss you, his lips brushing against yours in a soft, tender way that made your heart swell. the kiss was slow at first, gentle and unhurried, like he was savoring every second of it. you melted into him, your hands slipping up into his hair as you kissed him back, all the longing and frustration of the past month pouring into that one moment.
when you finally pulled back, breathless and a little dizzy, he rested his forehead against yours, his fingers tracing lazy patterns on your lower back. “i’m not going anywhere,” he murmured, his voice rough with emotion. “i’m here. for as long as you need me.”
you closed your eyes, letting his words sink in. the relief washed over you like a wave, the tension in your shoulders finally easing as you let yourself relax in his arms. “i need you,” you admitted softly. “i always need you.”
drew’s arms tightened around you, and he kissed you again, this time with more urgency, more need. the world around you seemed to blur as the kiss deepened, your bodies pressing closer together as if you couldn’t get enough of each other. his hands roamed over your back, slipping under the hem of your shirt, his touch sending shivers down your spine.
“God, i’ve missed this,” he murmured against your lips, his breath hot against your skin. “missed you.”
your fingers tangled in his hair as you kissed him harder, the sound of your breathing filling the empty hallway. you backed up against the wall without even realizing it, your back pressing against the cool surface as drew’s body pressed against yours. the intensity of the moment was overwhelming, the need to be close to him, to feel him, taking over every rational thought in your mind.
he kissed his way down your jaw, his lips trailing over your neck as your head fell back against the wall, a soft moan escaping your lips. “drew,” you whispered, your voice shaky with need.
“i know,” he murmured against your skin, his hands gripping your hips as he pressed his body against yours, his lips working their way back up to yours. “i know.”
the kiss turned desperate, almost frantic, like you were trying to make up for all the lost time in one single moment. his hands roamed over your body, pulling you closer, as if he was afraid you’d slip away if he didn’t hold on tight enough.
you pulled back just enough to catch your breath, your chest heaving as you looked up at him, your lips swollen from the intensity of the kiss. “i don’t know if i’m ever gonna let you leave again,” you admitted breathlessly, a soft laugh escaping your lips.
drew chuckled, his forehead resting against yours as he caught his own breath. “i wouldn’t mind that,” he said, his voice low and rough. “i’d stay right here with you forever if i could.”
you smiled up at him, your heart swelling with love and relief. “good,” you whispered, your fingers brushing against his cheek as you leaned in to kiss him again, this time slower, softer, like you had all the time in the world.
the kiss was sweet, full of promise and love, and for the first time in weeks, everything felt right again.
as the noise from the crew and backstage workers started to filter back into your awareness, you reluctantly pulled away, your lips still tingling from the kiss. “we should probably—”
drew grinned, his eyes sparkling as he cut you off with another quick kiss. “we’ve got time,” he murmured against your lips. “let’s not rush.”
you smiled, your heart swelling with happiness as you wrapped your arms around him, holding him close. for now, it didn’t matter that the tour was still going, that you had more cities to visit, more shows to perform. all that mattered was that he was here, with you.
and you weren’t letting him go anytime soon.
the next couple of hours passed in a blur. after the initial surprise wore off, you and drew managed to steal away into one of the more private areas backstage, where you could just be together without any interruptions. sitting side by your side on a worn-out couch, his arm wrapped around your shoulders, you finally felt a calm wash over you that you hadn’t felt in weeks. it was like everything settled back into place just by having him near you.
“so, drew said after a while, his fingers absentmindedly playing with a strand of your hair, “how many more shows do you have left?”
“three,” you replied, tilting your head to look up at him. “just three more, and then i’m back home.”
“home, huh?” he teased, a playful grin tugging at the corners of his lips. “you mean where i’ll be waiting for you with takeout and a bottle of wine?”
you laughed softly, nodding. “exactly that. except maybe i’ll be the one bringing the wine.”
he chuckled, his thumb gently tracing circles on your shoulder. “deal. can’t wait. but for now, i’m all yours for the rest of tonight.”
you leaned your head against his chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. “i still can’t believe you’re here,” you murmured, your voice soft with contentment. “you really surprised me.”
“i wanted to,” he said quietly, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “i knew how hard this month’s been for both of us. couldn’t stand being away from you any longer.”
your heart swelled at his words. there was something so comforting about having him close again, the kind of comfort that only came with someone who knew you inside and out. even with busy lives, drew always made sure you felt like the most important thing in his world.
“i love you,” you whispered, the words spilling out before you even realized it. it wasn’t the first time you’d said it, but every time felt just as meaningful, just as true.
drew’s arms tightened around you, his lips brushing against your forehead. “i love you too,” he whispered back, his voice full of emotion. “always.”
for a while, the two of you just sat there in peaceful silence, holding onto each other like the rest of the world didn’t exist. it was a rare, precious moment where time seemed to slow down, and you could just be. no pressures, no responsibilities—just you and drew, wrapped up in each other.
eventually, though, reality crept back in.
“you’ve got an early call tomorrow,” you reminded him reluctantly, your voice tinged with disappointment. “and i have to be at soundcheck.”
“i know,” he sighed, pulling back just enough to look down at you. “but i’ll be here, alright? for the rest of the tour.”
you blinked in surprise. “wait, you’re staying?”
“yeah,” drew said, his smile widening as he nodded. “i cleared my schedule. i’m not letting you finish this tour alone.”
a wave of relief and happiness washed over you, and you couldn’t help the huge smile spreading across your face. “drew, are you serious?”
“dead serious.” he grinned, leaning in to kiss you again, his lips soft and warm against yours. “we’re doing this together.”
tears of happiness welled up in your eyes, but you quickly blinked them away, overwhelmed by how much love you felt for him in that moment. “i can’t believe you’d do that for me.”
“i’d do anything for you,” he said softly, brushing a stray tear from your cheek. “you know that.”
you kissed him again, slow and sweet, savoring the feel of his lips against yours. the exhaustion from the tour, the long nights apart, the stress—it all melted away, leaving only the warmth of his presence, the comfort of knowing you weren’t alone anymore.
as you pulled back, you rested your forehead against his, your eyes closed as you breathed him in. “i don’t know what i did to deserve you.”
drew chuckled, his fingers gently tracing your jawline. “i’m the lucky one,” he murmured. “believe me.”
